Mediterranean restaurant
Las Tomasas is a historic restaurant located in the Albaicin area of Granada, offering classic dishes and wines from Southern Spain. The restaurant provides both indoor and outdoor dining with stunning views overlooking the Alhambra. It is situated near the Mirador de San Nicolas, a romantic spot known for its breathtaking sunsets.
Disclaimer: We were in a group tour where our meals were preordered, and it may not reflect the same dishes from their regular menu. This was a “treat” being able to dine with the magnificent view of the Alhambra, enjoying great dishes. As you can see from the photos that we had a great view even adorned with rainbow at one point. The night view was even more spectacular when the Alhambra lit up. We had the local refreshing greens with olives and chopped egg, gazpacho with melon pieces, the white fish (I think it was bass), and skirt steak with some sort of Pedro Ximenez Sauce. Finished with a nice fruit jam dessert.

Great location, beautiful views. Food is solid, enjoyed the flavors. Great for groups or a romantic night out in Granada. So amazing to dine with the Alhambra in your eyeline.
Ulrick — Google review
For once the saying you can‘t eat the view doesn’t apply: the view of the Alhambra is spectacular here and the food more then terrific. We loved it, the service is attentive and very friendly and the prices all considered reasonable. A recommendation.
Christoph H — Google review
Excellent service. The staff was extremely kind and they offered us some free liquore at the end. The food was excellent. I definitely would recommend the goat cheese salad. It was excellent. Also the raspberry crumble desert was delicious.

Wonderful upscale dining with a beautiful view of Alhambra. Everything tasted amazing! This is the perfect spot for an intimate dinner with friends and family.
John S — Google review
We had a romantic dinner here where we were seared on the terrace w a great view of the Alhambra - really unbeatable! We had good service, although it was confusing who was waiting on us w several different staff helping. We really enjoyed our carpaccio app and the wine we ordered. For our entrees, husband’s steak was tough and my pork was fairly dry w no sauce. We got dessert which was ok. The bonus was that we were offered complementary Limoncello and the staff was very helpful when we needed to walk to a spot to get an uber back to our hotel. Outstanding place for the atmosphere & views!

Fantastic restaurant. Fortunate to be able to book very late on a Saturday. Thank you. It is a magical setting looking out at The Alhambra. Food was excellent and service couldn't be faulted. A very happy memorable meal.
Jan H — Google review
Great view looking at Alhambra. It's better to book a table in advance. The food price is more expensive than other restaurants. Food is good. However, the Iberian pork steak is overcooked. I should've asked for exchange tho.

La Auténtica Carmela is an upscale Spanish restaurant located in the historic El Realejo neighborhood, close to Plaza Nueva and Granada Cathedral. The restaurant offers a cozy and intimate atmosphere with both summer and winter terrace seating. The menu features a bold and playful take on traditional Mediterranean cuisine, emphasizing local ingredients and Andalusian flavors. The staff is well-trained in handling food allergies, including gluten-free options.
The food is absolutely delicious. We ordered the black seafood rice , and the flavors of the seafood blended perfectly with the rice, creating a wonderfully harmonious dish. The duck meat is incredibly tender, and when paired with truffle, it creates a rich and delightful flavor combination. All other food is great. Our server Miguel is really great. We had a very good experience.

I had the pleasure of dining with my friend at Carmela, and the atmosphere was simply wonderful. The food was truly delicious, prepared to perfection, and the staff gave us a warm and welcoming experience from the very beginning. We were lucky to be served by Francisco, who was not only friendly and polite but also very helpful in guiding us through the menu. To make the evening even more special, we were treated to complimentary shots from the house, perfectly paired with our chocolate dessert. I would highly recommend Carmela to anyone visiting Granada – it’s an experience not to be missed!

So after being mesmerized by the Alhambra , we were sauntering down plaza nueva with a fair bit of ground to cover before we got to Hotel Granada center.... And it was past dinner time as well.... After combining chatgpt and Gemini for research on good dinner places near plaza nueva, we came across this gem and decided to dine in here. The waiter came and was very polite and courteous. There was a bit of a language barrier, I won't like, but between his spanglish and my inglespanyol, we showed the world that gastronomy overcomes linguistic boundaries. The cutest part of that exchange was him straining to remember something at the end of my order before blurting out "Allergies??!?" to which We replied "no senõr , todo bien" We ordered just one fanta limon shared between 2 folks and he still gave us a very decent sized tapas of fish salad that we split between the two of us on the house. We also ordered a chicken avocado toast and a chicken shrimp wok. Both were excellent in both plating presentation and taste. Portion sizes were incredibly generous too, specially for the wok which is deeper than what my photo shows. The waiter periodically checked in on us to ask "todo bien?" which was a testament to his warmth....my favorite part of this dinner came towards the end though. In the end, after I "pagar'ed la cuenta", the waiter asked the final "was everything good" to which I first fumbled with "tres bien" before shaking my head and going "si si todo muy bien" and I shook the poor chaps hand and went "perdon, senõr, mi Espanol es mierda".... To which the man immediately quipped with a mixture of amusement and even indignation "pero no, senõr, es mejor que mi ingles 🤣🤣🤣" I'm not sure I agree but I loved his warmth :)

Ja The food was excellent – fresh and full of flavor. A special thanks to our waiter Shanti, whose warm and friendly manner truly made the experience memorable. Thank you!

Beautiful food! The portion sizes were really big & everything was so tasty. Definitely try the croquettes!
Ellie T — Google review
Francisco was an excellent and well advised waiter. The croquettes were amazing. All the dishes we tried including the aubergine were fantastic
Kirsty P — Google review
Good vibe with variety of dish. But the food was not as good as i expected. Too salty for most dish we had. Maybe we picked wrong ones?!?
Kate K — Google review
Absolutely wonderful lunchtime dining experience! Stopped on the way back from the Alhambra for a sangria or two… complimentary tapas with our drinks were divine (pork stew and fish with tomatoes) and we ordered croquettes and the wok noodles on top, both of which were outstanding! To top it off, the staff were all lovely and attentive. 100% recommend!

Restaurante Palacio Andaluz Almona is a top dining spot in Granada, offering an authentic taste of Moroccan cuisine in a charming and tranquil setting. Located centrally in the old town, this restaurant provides a down-to-earth experience with homemade lemonade and shisha available. The interior is elegantly decorated with modern touches, featuring comfortable seating areas that set it apart from other Arabic restaurants. Visitors can enjoy traditional tagine dishes cooked on real fire and delicious North African sweets.
Authentic, flavourful, delicious Moroccan food. Omar’s service was outstanding, who managed the full restaurant almost single-handedly with kindness, care, and impressive attentiveness. The food was served quickly. The nice atmosphere made for a great overall experience.
Julia K — Google review
I had the best hummus and the best veal couscous of my life at this restaurant. The service was excellent and very attentive, with a refined touch. The atmosphere was calm, not crowded, and the staff were extremely kind. Everything was spotless and well-organized, and I really loved the elegant style of the restaurant.
Francesco C — Google review
Not worth a 4.8 rating. Food is good in general but nothing wows. We had the lamb tajin, sauteed carrot and a hummus plate. The lamb is good but you don’t get much meat from it. The coconut cookies they gave us at the end was very delicious though.
Meng Y — Google review
We ordered the traditional dishes (chicken pastella with almonds and cinamon and tanjia marrakci). Both were great and different from turkish/lebanese food. A nice surprise. We ordered also the 5piece desert with the excelent almond and rasberry cake. On the funny side, the card payment was not possible (broken pos), but we were announced from the entry. I can tell understand not wanting to pay commissions to the bank, though. Considering how good the food is, I doubt anyone would complain about this.
George N — Google review
Food is absolutely fantastic. Can’t speak of its authenticity but probably the most delicious Moroccan cuisine I’ve had in a while. Service could be improved. Mainly, they need some English speaking staff. They put a piece of paper with machine translated broken English on it at the entrance. I didn’t realize it actually means “no credit card” until the end of our meal. I spent all night trying to communicate with our server using hand gestures. They are not that polite either.
Qiang G — Google review
With uncertain expectations and a few misses with our recent dining experiences, we were pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious and full of flavour, service was fantastic and quick. We ordered the chicken tajine with vegetables and the mince meat tajine. The only knock would be that we would have liked a bigger serving size for the price of the dishes. I would certainly come back!
Lester L — Google review
Not a good experience, they didn’t have a card so had to go around to find an ATM. The food was ok but very expensive and the portions are very small, please see the scale of the spoon next to the dish. The rice was basically 1 tiny spoon for 5€ Dishes are around 20€ and not coming with rice or bread. Not worth the trip.

Very nice authentic Moroccan food. We had tajin and couscous, both very delicious. The employees were also very friendly! It is a bit on the pricier side though.

El Fogón de Galicia is a traditional restaurant in Granada that offers a variety of Galician specialties, including tapas, grilled octopus, stews, and mixed paella. The restaurant provides an exceptional dining experience with meticulously curated details and exemplary service. It's located just a ten-minute walk downhill from the city center, making it a perfect spot to indulge in rich and steaming dishes paired with dry Galician white wine.
The paella was really delicious & mouthwatering than the one that i eat in malaga . The bread was fresh and smells yummy 😋 (for me, it's enough bread with olive oil). Tapas and octopus were tasty as well. Thanks, Javier, for your assistance and help .
Souad Y — Google review
Perfect place for seafood. Not very often that food normally prepared and served in the North of Spain is as delicious in the South of Spain, but El Fogon achieves it. A mandatory stop in Granada. Their version of the Pulpo a la Gallega is easily one of the best I have ever tried. Excellent service and very good quality produce.
Willo ( — Google review
The atmosphere was nice and the staff were quite welcoming. The Padron was delicious, octopus and beef were okey. Unfortunately we found a hair among the peppers. We told the waiter but he did not feel sorry at all. Bread was served without asking, and we found have to pay for it, which is uncomfortable.
Zoey — Google review
It was a really nice accidental find on our Granada walk. We got a light dinner here - padrons were excellent and big portion, the free tapas (fried fish in our case) was really good, the tomato salad topped with tapanad was great. Octopus could have been softer. The staff was super attentive and nice! The drinks where also cheap and comes with tapas so a great deal! Would recommend.

Good blendd seafood & meat paella served. The starter salad we ordered was very fresh and nicely presented. Bottomline, recommendation.

We were in search of a great Paella and they certainly delivered! One squid ink, one seafood, one meat. Delicious with lovely crispy bits at the bottom.

La Cuchara de Carmela is a cozy restaurant located in the historic center of Granada, offering traditional down-home cooking and a robust wine list. Housed in the iconic La Antigua Aduana building, it provides a welcoming atmosphere with views of the Genil River. The menu features slow-cooked, homemade dishes made with high-quality ingredients, including traditional stews and a selection of meats and wines that showcase local Andalusian gastronomy.
After visiting La Autentica, we had to try another Carmela restaurant and this one didn’t dissapoint. There wasn’t a lot of gluten free options as in the last one, but still the food I had was really good, the highlight being the desert.
Antonela K — Google review
Fantastic food but the service made it memorable! Server told us about the chickpea stew on the menu and that his grandma used to make something similar for him when he was sick. Definitely recommend! Other apps and mains were great too.

You must try their leche frita!! This is a great place to look for traditional Spanish style foods, they make great choices for wine on menu, etc. We had great service from Doña Silvia this week, who initially sort of botched an order, but then was super proactive and flexible in offering us an even better solution 👏 bravo, very professional! 👌🏽👌🏽

A very nice restaurant and friendly staff. Had the menu in English and German. Slightly on the expensive side but the food was good. I would recommend one of the omelets if you have a good appetite.
Stillapatmike — Google review
Most dishes were great! I liked the octopus which was slightly crispy, different from other octopus dishes that we’ve had in Spain. We also enjoyed the fried eggplant and the croquettes! My friends and I didn't really enjoy the fish tho
Li L — Google review
Very glad we made a bit of a trek here, even in the rainy weather - our favourite meal in Spain far! The service was quick, the servers were very understanding. The partridge salad was so perfectly balanced flavour-wise, and we were glad for some vegetables. The croquettes did not disappoint, the black pudding one was sweet and creamy. Definitely recommend!

Came here for dinner fairly late without a reservation, but got quickly seated in the outdoor area. Menu had a few missing items at the time, but had a good selection of various dishes. Everything was solid but a little pricey for how it was. Croquetas were good sized, the fish was decent, and the dessert was good

Cacho&Pepe is a small Italian eatery located on Calle Colcha, near Plaza Nueva and Plaza de Isabel la Catolica in Granada. The restaurant offers traditional Italian dishes such as lasagnas, fresh pastas, and pizzas at affordable prices. While there are only two small tables for dining in, the majority of customers opt for takeaway due to its popularity. Customers can enjoy classic beef lasagna or various vegetarian options along with traditional desserts.
Really nice place. I had the spinach and ricotta tortellini in a tomato, ricotta and pesto sauce topped with Parmesan and it was one of the best meals I have ever eaten. Would recommend this place to anyone (especially that dish), we also had a tiramisu (my first one so don’t have anything to compare it to) but that was also really nice
Mike H — Google review
Nicest service and absolutely awesome food. On top of that, the prices are incredible for the quality they serve. It is a great option for take away, as there are only two small tables - but if you are lucky enough eating in is an amazing experience.

Super happy with this little place! Only had two tables. We were fortunate to snag one for lunch. I ate the beef and mushroom cannelloni. You can tell the pasta is fresh and the cheese is homemade. Great service. Excellent Italian red wine. Really happy with this meal.

Hands down one of the BEST Italian restaurants that I have ever been to! We ordered the caprese salad, spinach and ricotta tortellini, cacio e pepe spaghetti and the tiramisu and everything was delicious! Service was also excellent.. the restaurant is small with limited seating so you might need to wait a while for a table but it is well worth it! It was so good that we came back to have dinner here as well.. will be back again for sure!

We found this tiny hole in the wall because of Trip Advisor. I could sing its praises all day. Food was amazing, staff lovely. Atmosphere inviting. Delicious!! Even took home a dish for later;)
Tracy T — Google review
This charming little gem is almost perfect! We had the burrata pomodoro with pesto, the burrata and pesto were both super fresh and superb. We followed with a mixed meat cannelloni, which tasted primarily of mushrooms, earthy amd delicious amd a classic cacio e pepe spaghetti. Prices are very reasonable, in keeping with the humble surroundings (only two small tables and no air conditioning) and service was the best in Granada! We made a new friend, and sang along with the chef as she prepared our meals steps away from us. Bravo!

Vegan restaurant
Restaurante Vegano Hicuri is a popular vegan restaurant located in the heart of Realejo, Granada. The place has an airy atmosphere with retro decor and quirky wall murals that create a friendly yet eclectic feel. They serve plant-based versions of global dishes such as refreshing tomato and cucumber gazpacho, robust ratatouille, and rich creamy tiramisu without dairy.
We had dinner at Hicuri and were absolutely blown away. Everything—from the atmosphere and the friendliness of the staff to the creativity and flavor of the food—was just perfect. It’s hard to put into words how good it was. As vegans, it’s rare to find a place that puts so much thought and soul into every detail. Highly recommended!
Máté B — Google review
Extremely friendly staff, big smile and you instantly feel comfortable. We had the croquetas as starters which were delightful (both spinach and mushroom based). We had next the lasagna which I'd not recommend. It was good, but simply not good enough for us to reorder the same dish another time. Overall a great place, I'm sure other options on the menu would live up to 5 stars, so won't rate it below :).

Lovely service and people, we didn't have a reservation but thankfully they weren't busy the time we visited. We got the house and sweet burgers, fries were amazing and portions were just right. Would recommend to vegans and vegetarians! Many options we didn't have time to try ♥️

Great to find a restaurant where we could choose anything off the menu! Been struggling a bit as vegetarians in Andalucia but this place really hit the mark. Very friendly, great choices and great taste - all at good value. We had the ratatouille and the couscous with chickpeas. The wine was only €3 per glass. What's not to like?
Gordon M — Google review
It's not easy to be a vegetarian or vegan in Granada. Almost everywhere you go, the food had cured meats! But this restaurant is a star. I was so happy to eat at this place. It felt like I was at home again. The service was excellent, even though they seemed a bit understaffed on the busy night we were there. It's cliche (but true) that often vegan food all over the world rely on similar ingredients, like tofu and seitan, nuts etc. But Hicuri really adds some unique flavors and creative cooking styles. I really enjoyed the padron peppers. It was so refreshing to see so much fresh vegetables again, which didn't seem so common to me in Granada but maybe that's my limited tourist perspective.
Steve T — Google review
Every component of our meal was incredible. I think the mushroom croquetas were our favorite because they tasted like stuffing/dressing. Would LOVE to come back someday!

Mercado de San Agustín is a bustling covered market located near Granada Cathedral and Plaza Nueva. It offers an array of fresh produce including meat, seafood, fruits, vegetables, cheeses, olive oils, and wines. The market also features small tapas stalls where visitors can enjoy light foods such as meat, cheese, and olives for a quick meal. Additionally, there are bars and restaurants within the market serving dishes made with the fresh produce available at the stalls.
A great place to have seafood cooked to your liking. It’s filled with locals, so that gave us the confidence that the food would be great. And it didn’t disappoint. We bought our fresh giant Spanish Red Prawns from one of the stalls and got them to do a an Andalusian Paella. Had another plate of fried calamari which was just so fresh. The place was loud, hands gesticulating in deep conversation, punctuations of shouts from the stalls as they try to market their procedure, waiters zooming around delivering orders… it felt like a show and we were part of it. A lunch to remember.

What a fantastic find this vibrant, buzzing marketplace is, We ate at Isle Cristina y Malaga, The freshest seafood we've ever eaten in Spain, you simply pick your food, and they walk it 5 meters over to the restaurant, cook it, and serve! The mixed fried fish, Gambas roja, and squid were all top-class seafood, an absolute must visit. Big plus also the air conditioning, escape the afternoon heat of Granada in style at this great location.

The best place in Granada for lunch. I love coming here and it's one of my favorite mercado's in Spain. The best part is that you can have a seat at table and a server will take your order - so easy! I highly recommend the rice bowls, so much food and super fresh ingredients! Enjoy!
Amy S — Google review
What a fun experience, reasonable price and extremely fresh. Someone from the restaurant goes to the fish stall, picks up what you ordered, brings it back- it is cooked and brought to your table!! Fabulous. I'll definitely eat here again!!
Lisa D — Google review
It was a pity that most of the fresh food stalls didn't open during the festival de Corpus Christi. But we were still able to buy some fresh seafood and gave to the food stalls to cook for us.
X Z — Google review
The market is occupied by a big restaurant in the centre area which is very loudly, expensive. If you just want to enjoy local tapas and good quality of Jamon Iberica ( ham). Recommend this 2 stores, reasonable price, good food and good quality.
Phy P — Google review
This was a bit disappointing at the time we went there. We have been to there at noon but it seems there were only a few restaurants open. Several Sushi restaurants but for Japanese tourists it’s kinda joke to eat sushi in Granada. So decided not to eat there.
Riku — Google review
I’ve visited several mercados in Spain, but this one is by far the best. Fantastic food, drinks, and service, with a great overall atmosphere and all at very reasonable prices. Select your fresh seafood and they will cook it to your liking. I highly recommend giving this place a try you won't be disappointed.

Las Perdices in Granada, Spain offers a variety of delicious rice dishes beyond the famous paella. While paella is their specialty, they also serve arroz caldoso, a hearty and flavorful option. The restaurant has gained recognition for its excellent rice dishes, particularly the arroz caldoso. Visitors praise the tasty and soupy paella but note that it could have more meat. The friendly waitstaff and comfortable environment add to the dining experience at Las Perdices.
Best meal of our trip to Europe! The arroz campero de pollo y lomo is a must try. The restaurant also has a very comfortable environment.

We had a lunch here after we read some recommendation for their paella if you are staying in Granada, as one of the best. Paella is trully delicious, its not baked as usual, but instead is "soupy" and creamy. It really is tasty, only thing is that it could use a bit more meat inside, since rice and vegetables dominate. Waiter is so lovely and nice, he really tries to acommodate everyone, so they have big plus for that. Only thing is their service is general where you wait a lot on your food and also when you want to get a receipt they are bit slow and process is a bit complicated until you can finally pay. Nevertheless, nice home-vibe restaurant. Paella is 12,5e for person but portions are huge!!
Katarina M — Google review
Great service and excellent food in a beautiful place. Not a wide variety though. Would recommend it anyways.
Alvaro C — Google review
They have a waiter for a whole room, so the waiting is annoying, no many dishes to choose, mostly fry things, no good. I don't think we will come back. When we left our clothes smell like we were inside the kitchen, no good
Dritan A — Google review
Very quiet but we ate early. Nice enough food but huge portions which we could not finish.

Typical granadian cuisine. A Family restaurant, toddler-friendly, great food and dessert selection.
Yan M — Google review
It used to be better. A bit on the expensive side for what they deliver.

I come back here monthly to have arroz (soupy rice). I always try to take my guests here as well.

Mediterranean restaurant
Restaurante Ruta del Azafrán in Granada offers a unique dining experience with its theme inspired by the spice route and the coexistence of Christian, Muslim, and Sephardic cultures. The restaurant combines Mediterranean flavors with creative touches, offering dishes like Arab chicken pie with carrot salad and sea-bass with courgette and coconut sauce. Nestled in the charming streets of Granada, this culinary gem promises a flavorful journey where traditional Spanish cuisine meets a quirky atmosphere.
This is a great restaurant - staffs were very friendly, foods were well prepared (the shrimp salad tasted so good; the chicken paella in Moorish style was fabulous! The young chicken was so tender yet full of flavors). It was nice and clean inside - and the cool AC really helped in this hot weather:) all the dishes were great (and reasonably priced).

⭐️ 4/5 The only reason this experience doesn’t earn a full five stars is the service—because when it comes to the food, this restaurant delivers excellence on every plate. We stopped in for a quick lunch and ordered modestly: the crispy pork and the seabass with meat sauce. Both dishes were superb. The ingredients were evidently of high quality, each element thoughtfully paired to create a balance of flavor and texture that spoke to the chef’s precision and palate. Even with a limited tasting, it was clear that this kitchen understands harmony and restraint. Unfortunately, the service fell short of the same standard. Despite the restaurant being relatively quiet—no more than four tables occupied—the staff took a surprisingly long time to take our order, forgot our wine entirely, and ultimately left us to walk up to the counter to settle the bill ourselves. It’s a shame, because the culinary experience deserves to be matched by seamless hospitality. Still, I would gladly return for the food alone—it’s that good. With more attentive service, this could easily be one of the city’s standout dining experiences.

The food was very good, the roast pork shoulder and pineapple dessert was impressive, rich and tasty. The only drawback was that the table was not very clean, but the food was satisfactory.

Perfect food, perfect service and good prices. Loved it and loved the service.

The food is really special, well executed, made with fine ingredients and truly just delicious. The new chef Javier Feixas is doing wonders. Can’t wait to come back.

We were a party of five and sat outside. The service was good, food came fairly quickly and was of good quality.

Stopped in for a late lunch after a day of strolling and enjoyed excellent food, great service and a lovely view looking up to Alhambra. Everything we ordered (salads, to steak to the savory pies) was excellent both in presentation and flavor. Worth visiting if strolling around the old city.
Chris D — Google review
This place was amazing! From the views of the Alhambra and old city, to the fantastic food and kind and attentive waiters. I was so impressed by the waiters- watching them run back and forth to the kitchen across the street. They were there before I even had to ask for something. I had the croquettes con jamon and the lamb chops and both were FANTASTIC. Topped it off with some recommended wine and was the perfect way to start my stay in Grenada. Thank you!!
