Ramen restaurant
Authentic Japanese restaurant
Japanese restaurant
Ramen Ya is a charming little eatery that brings the essence of Japan right to the heart of France, specifically in Nantes and Rennes. Since its inception in 2017 by chef Anthony Nguyen, this cozy spot has become a beloved destination for noodle soup enthusiasts. The restaurant boasts an inviting atmosphere with a traditional Yokohama-inspired menu featuring homemade ramen crafted from locally sourced ingredients like free-range chicken and Breton pork.
You order at the front desk and wait. Menu focused on ramens. Mind the level of spiciness, you may suggest what you prefer to the crew. Not too spacy local but the food is very good.

First time in France as we were on an Extreme Day Trip - We went to Nantes and found this treasure of a place. The staff were brilliant, made us feel very welcome and THE FOOD WOW! THE FOOD WAS INCREDIBLE.
Freddy C — Google review
Got the Jigoku ramen and gyoza. The ramen was amazing. The taste is just right. For gyoza, it’s not the best I’ve tried but okay. Overall, good experience, good food.
Haruka N — Google review
The food was tasty, but the service was under par. I had a meal there on 31 Jul at 16.20 and was greeted by a less than friendly server. I made every effort to speak French only to get a curt Huh? Huh? from him. His attitude implied: the menu is in front of you, it's not that difficult to figure out. To make matters worse he sprayed the cleaning product on the table I was sitting at and got it on me. It didn't make me feel very clean. Mind you that the restaurant was almost empty and the table could have been cleaned beforehand. As a courtesy, he could have asked me to stand up or, better still, added the cleaning product on the rag and not on the table. Who trained this guy?! P.S. The ramen spoon was wet before it touched the Ramen. Substandard.
Marcel M — Google review
Great ambiance and service, it’s a kind of trendy and young ramen place in Nantes. I have been to Nantes many times but never knew this place exists. I like how efficient it is, you pay upfront then you get a seat, so the turnover is quite fast despite the queue being long. The staff was super friendly and kind. We sat at the counter and there was sufficient place under the table to hang bags and coats so it was very convenient. I would not really say the quality of the noodle soup was that great. I ordered the jigoku with spice level 2. The noodles were a bit soggy (instead of normal I should have taken Al denté for the noodles…), the egg was a bit powdery, soup a bit salty and not chilly at all, but the meat was good though. We also ordered the chashu don, the chicken dices were pasty with a bit of sauce on top, a bit of a boring dish unfortunately…
Poleen H — Google review
Such good food and such bad service, the guy at the cashing machine didn’t even say hello, we order, he didn’t take the full order and it was not correct. When at the table I realized they didn’t even asked for the size of the noodles or the cooking we wanted, so sad to have a bad experience in a restaurant we love.
Pao M — Google review
Stopped by the ramen restaurant by chance. The soup is strong enough and the noodles were cooked well. We’re from Taiwan and have tried quite a lot Ramen in Asia, I would say this ramen is local, good and recommended. Also the price is reasonable in Europe :)

Tried the ramen here and it was absolutely delicious! I enjoyed every bite. The service was excellent and the place itself is very pleasant.

Pickles is an upscale bistro in Nantes, known for its modern, locally sourced fixed-price menu and robust wine list. The restaurant is popular among locals and visitors alike, offering a sophisticated menu that showcases the best of local producers.
Fantastic lunch is served. We had the 4 course lunch, which offered very interesting tastes and flavours. We were especially impressed with the Korean and Japanese flavour which were employed in the French themed dishes. The place is children friendly and ths staffs are super helpful. We also had a chance to meet the charming chef.

What an incredible meal! Perfectly prepared and presented, delicious wine pairing, kind service. Highly recommended.
Ronilo L — Google review
Dining at Pickles in Nantes was an experience to remember! This restaurant truly stands out for its inventive approach to cuisine, blending traditional French techniques with Asian flavors in a way that is both surprising and delightful. The menu was carefully though of and is seafood-heavy (which I consider a plus!). Each plate was a work of art, with vibrant colors and textures that promised—and delivered—exceptional taste. The ambiance of Pickles is just as noteworthy. Its modern interior creates a perfect backdrop for a meal that feels both sophisticated and relaxed. What impressed me most was the price point. This place serves Michelin-level food and service without the air of snobbery. The staff were amazing and added to the experience with their warmth and professionalism, making us feel well looked after throughout our entire dining experience. Pickles is a must-visit in Nantes for anyone looking to enjoy innovative dining in a welcoming environment. An absolute degustation experience that leaves you eager to return back for more.

Truly impeccable food! Every course (more than they let on!!) was delicious. My wife is a vegetarian and they made an extra special effort to accommodate her. The chef came out to speak to each table and present the food which was a brilliant touch. Amazing service! Whilst it was a lot of food the restaurant timed each course perfectly so we enjoyed a long relaxed meal. 10/10!!
Sam G — Google review
We loved our experience at Pickles from start to finish. We didn’t have a reservation, but they were able to fit us in. Theo, our waiter was excellent, and he helped explain all the meals in English for us. The ravioli with the chorizo was amazing with the black garlic. It was so flavorful. We each had the conchon which was also tasty. It was crispy on the outside and it was served over white beans that were in a lemon sauce, simply delicious. For our desserts, I had a dessert with a plum and plum sauce with a cardamom sauce and a meringue with pomegranate seeds, and it was just exquisite. My partner had an almond flavored dessert with roasted nuts on top. Later, the chef named Dominic came over and talked with us, which made the experience for us much more special. If you’re in Nantes and want a delicious and unique food experience, you should definitely try this restaurant. Oh, and the Chardonnay wine was delicious as well. It is a quiet and clean restaurant with a soothing vibe, unlike many of the restaurants in the historic area.
Gray J — Google review
Now one of my favourite organic fine eateries in a quiet street of the city centre! Highly sought after, important to reserve a table ahead of time for lunch or dinner in this modern, minimalist yet comfortable restaurant. The chefs fine and innovative variety of fusion dishes (suitable for vegetarian, pescatarian, vegan and meat lovers) are guaranteed to tickle the palette and delight the senses. The house offers a very extensive, carefully chosen wine list with a welcome focus on local and organic cepages to enhance flavours and the overall dining experience. The knowledgeable staff are happy to answer questions and propose wines to suitably accompany each dish. A truly extraordinary and delicious dining experience, I can only highly recommend reserving your table at Pickles to experience such delights!
Sinéad M — Google review
Fantastic, small fine dining restaurant with very friendly staff and lovely ambience. They happily provided two vegetarian tasting menus and one meat/fish tasting menu to our table and all courses were delicious.

Best food in Nantes.. farm to table galore.. the chef, a Brit who came to Nantes for the love of a woman, really shines!!! Food is tasty and well thought of, the craftsmanship in the kitchen shows and the chef will be out there with every dish to talk about it! Great experience all together. Song Saveur et Sens is a glamorous Vietnamese restaurant in Nantes that has been making waves for over a decade. Chef Nhung Phung, a self-taught globetrotter with Vietnamese roots, brings finesse and creativity to her dishes, blending Asian influences with local ingredients. The elegant powder blue decor with Zen touches sets the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. The menu offers a fusion of Asian traditions and French flair, featuring poetic dish names that spark the imagination.
Great food, lovely presentation and staff. Would highly recommend. We had the shared starter (“tapas”), the (deconstructed) bao bun and steak mains, and the chef’s special dessert
Jenny W — Google review
We waited for dessert too long because the kitchen served all the desserts at the same time. When we finished our main dish, we had to wait for the desserts from the table next to us to be served at the same time! And they came an hour later than us.

Located in Nantes, France, Roza is a charming restaurant offering artfully plated French haute cuisine and a selection of wines. Since 2017, the restaurant has been led by chef Jean-Francois Pantaleon, who brings his passion for the local terroir of Pays de la Loire to the forefront.
Ulala! I'm vegetarian and they went out of their way to make a refreshing, original and incredibly flavourful dish! SIMPLY WOW! The dessert was to die for !

Great place for a traditional French dinner. It used to have a Michelin star. The server spoke English well and explained the concept of each of the chefs dishes. We sat in the back where you can see the food being prepared and I highly recommend that.
Patryk B — Google review
Aside from my two main challenges (trying every Michelin Star in Paris and every 3 stars in France) I also try all the stars a région or a city. I did Lille and Vendée. Now, I’ll do Nantes and around. So it’s the first one I try there. What’s interesting here? It’s in between bistronomic and bourgeois. The setting is more Bistronomic, but with decent space, confortable etc… so a bit more bourgeois. The cuisine is also very deeply rooted in the more bourgeois (with a spice of traditional) than bistronomic. So it’s a bit disturbing but none the less pleasing, especially on the salty where he’s more at ease. I did have a Terre/Mer dish by the way. Now, look at the prices, especially the lunch. You have a whole menu in a Michelin Star for less than a gas tank refill… So one should factor this in when judging this restaurant. And I know that you could compare it to the Michelin in Vendée, but it wouldn’t be fair because you would compare a restaurant in the countryside against one in a national city center. So it does deserve its star.
MichelinStarsChallenge R — Google review
One of my favourite lunch spot in Nantes. After a dozen experiences there I keep coming back as the food of always so tasty, seasoning is spot on and really well dressed. Roza never disappoints, from starter to deserts, team is super focused, even the bread is good. Which is often overlooked in French restaurants. Way to go!
Pierre-Antoine A — Google review
This restaurant is in front of the 'histoire naturelle de Nantes'. The area is therefore very nice. In the evening, it is a pretty romantic place. Inside, the light are really well manage, you can see everything but with a charming shadow effect... We went there for our 23 anniversary wedding. We were both really enjoying our meals with very nice wine (we were allowed to get glasses of wine). The price is around 50€ each! Very nice place for a particular occasion...

Nestled in the vibrant city of Nantes, Les Cadets is a culinary gem run by the talented Bernabe brothers, Charles and Tristan. With a modern and stylish ambiance, this restaurant showcases their commitment to innovative cuisine that pays homage to their family roots. Each dish is crafted with precision and creativity, featuring local ingredients like mackerel paired with winter radish and green crab soup. Diners rave about the exceptional service—friendly and attentive—which enhances the overall experience.
Very friendly restaurant with amazing taste. It was the first restaurant for my little boys in a michelin star French restaurant. They service was absolutely friendly and helpful. The lunch menu was such a great value with lovely dishes with distinctive taste. We have served with sea in the central theme starting with warm brioche with salty seaweed, followed by amuse de bouch which exploded the taste of the sea to prepare for the main fish. The cpurse started with velute de champignon (mushroom soup) with little slice of Parisian mushrooms. Kids enjoyed it so much. The first fish was smoked haddock with beetroot and pure. Main fish was pollock, which was perfectly cooked. I have no idea how it is done. The side vegetable was enjoyable with the fish. The ice cream desert was a lovely touch to finish the journey. I was so grateful for the lovely food and nice service, so my little boys were able to enjoy the course. By the way, wine selection was a fantastic plus.

Amazing experience. Had a lunch here in August ‘25 … easy to give a 5 star rating for welcome, humble and friendly service, clarity of concept and how the two brothers bring that to their menu. Highly recommend the 5 or 7 course menu with the wine pairings, each having their own story about how (or where from) they came to the table. Only constructive point is the slight noise disturbance with trams and cars driving by … happens only when sitting outside though.
Ashwin K — Google review
We had a perfect lunch here. Fish-oriented 4 course Menu + amuse bouche. Everything perfectly executed and simply delicious. Service was smooth, super friendly and calm. Restaurant bright and cozy. Talensac Market is a historic 1930s market hall in Nantes, France. With over 100 vendors offering a wide range of products including cheeses, meats, pastries, chocolates, and ready-made dishes, it provides an authentic glimpse into local life. As the oldest and largest market in Nantes, it is renowned for its abundance of fresh seafood, vegetables, cheese, wine, and other delicacies.
Many choices of fruit, cheese, meat, seafood. Enjoyed picking cheese from all over France and Europe. Really worths the visit. Don't miss it. Best choice for a Sunday morning.
Haris V — Google review
What can i say... One thing that i love about traveling is exploring places where the locals go do their every day shopping. The Talensac market was one of the places where I just wandered just to feel the vibe. The smell, the noises, the people. I didn't buy anything but i feel like cash is the way to go. Also one thing, i didn't see some seating area for you to consume the fresh produce that you just bought. I get it It's a market place not a chilling area but it could still be fun.
Anthony P — Google review
Great experience! Slightly more expensive than the local market, but the quality is also much better. Would definitely recommend for all to visit!
Suha S — Google review

Very nice market just very close to tram stop 50 o'tage. The price is quite reasonable for the center citizen. I can find all kind of fresh foods.

Very fresh produce. But also very French; just because it’s a market doesn’t mean it’s cheap. Everything is a bit to a lot more expensive than in a regular supermarket, so only come here for the nice things you want to indulge in— fruit, oysters, wine, cakes, foie gras, jams

Takeout Restaurant
Suppli Factory has quickly gained success, leading to the opening of a new location just two years after the first restaurant. The concept of adapting a lesser-known Sicilian specialty, arancini, into fast food has proven to be a delicate culinary feat. Visitors have been pleasantly surprised by the size and flavor of the "suppli," finding them satisfying and well-balanced. Some were initially hesitant due to their Roman background but were delighted by the unique round shape and basil-infused sauce.
Great arancini and supli. They taste just like the onea I had in my childhood in Italy. It is super friendly and great place to visit with kids. The food was prepared very quickly. There are plenty of tablea and space.
Gio L — Google review
Food is good an concept is original (Italian fried specialities) but the general execution is bad: food is served on a piece of paper (no plate), salads in a plastic cup, interior choises are strange and messy, open kitchen looks messy. No music. Stock area with piles of carton boxes visible. Charming waitress however.
Arnaud V — Google review
I never tried this kind of italian food and I thought that it wouldn't satisfy my hungry stomach, but surprisingly it was. The "suppli" is big enough for me and the curry taste was good (not too much, not bland) which is an extra point for me. Their tiramisu was also good. I just wasn't a fan of the panacota because it's not as sweet as I have imagined. The little ball (sorry I forgot the name) was good too. As someone who's not a big fan of veggies it was great! The bolognais sauce tasted very good.
Margareta B — Google review
Ok, honestly we were a little unsure about testing it. We are from Rome so for us supplì is a really important institution. Living in Paris since 2019 we tried many times to eat them and every time they were ultra expensive and sub par. Luckily, with supplì factory we had a really pleasant experience. The suppli are for sure different. First of they are round and second, there is basilic in the sauce. Even if they are different, they are ultra good and cheap. They were crispy outside, with rice and mozzarella spot-on. The sauce, although different, was savory and really well done. GO THERE if you need a snack while roaming aroud. Only bad point, I think they have a great product, but form outside the shop looks like one of the many Italian knock-off. I advise them to better showcase their product at the entrance, because the smell of suppli can bring close to the shop everyone!
Valerio L — Google review
Good main dishes and desserts. Tried different varieties and liked it almost every time. But, severely understaffed on Monday noon. Dirty tables. Long wait to clean tables, take orders, and even give the bottle of water. Only one person running around trying to manage everything. Not so fast for a fast food restaurant.

If you're in Nantes and craving a taste of Canada, Comptoir à Poutine is the place to be! This charming eatery boasts a warm and welcoming atmosphere, thanks to its friendly owner who genuinely cares about your dining experience. While the fries are delightful and generous portions will leave you satisfied, the cheese curds may not quite match those from Quebec. The gravy offers a unique twist with its marjoram flavor, which might surprise some palates.
I love this place. Very delicious and generous Poutine. The little and medium were already plenty of food. And so many choices.

Visiting Nantes for only a single day, I happened upon this restaurant. Having never tried Quebecois cuisine before, the menu seemed interesting. Upon entering, the kind member of staff forgave my lack of French and ensured that I understood what I was ordering. The service was great, and I enjoyed my meal very much. As I went in the early afternoon, it was fairly quiet. It was definitely better than visiting one of the many nearby fast food establishments.

Super nice owner that really cares about making sure you are happy. The fries are great. The curds are disappointing compared to Quebec, but they're ok. The gravy is also different than what you'll get in Quebec, not as salty, or beefy, and the main flavor seems to be marjoram, which we don't love, so it's up to you. Maybe you'll love it! But it's a really nice place, and you'll enjoy it. We only tried one simple dish, and I'm sure the others are great.

Very good classic poutine, and if you miss QC beers they have some too. 👌
Khloud — Google review
Delicious! I haven't had poutine since living in Vancouver, and that familiar feeling of a belly full of chips, gravy and cheese is comfort all in one package! Lovely staff and a friendly welcoming atmosphere, I'm looking forward to my next chance to come back, although with such generous portions I'll have to fast for a bit beforehand to be able to finish my large portion😁 Trop bien, merci à l'équipe ! (excellent gravy! A rarity in france😍)

Nice evening with my family. We where travelling back north after the summer holiday in the south of France through Nantes. This place is just as good as it looks online, creative cuisine, fresh ingredients and a good choose from the menu for fish, meat and vegetarians. Really lovely experience. We did feel a bit rushed in our reservation as they try and cater two seatings a night - understandable during covid social distancing and cleanliness times.
Emily C — Google review
Very good service and excellent food. All of the dishes I tried have their own twist to it, and they use local, high quality ingredients. Modern cuisine as it should be.
Michael K — Google review
Excellent sea food restaurant. We had two diffrent menus and everything was a dream. For example, we recommend the tempura style thon and the super tender merluccius cooked in low temperature olive oil. The wine pairing was so excellent and I recommend everybody to let himself/herself guided buy the smiling and competent staff.

They were fantastic at accommodating my difficult food allergies and made a very pleasant experience with great food.

Soba et Sarrasin is a charming establishment located in Canclaux, Nantes, specializing in the artisanal production of mochis and sobas. The owner, Sophie, trained in Japan and offers workshops where visitors can learn to prepare their own mochis with flavors like yuzu, hazelnut, black sesame, and almond/green tea. Visitors praise the excellent vegetarian Ramen with well-cooked and perfectly seasoned ingredients.
(Translated by Google) A treat! Edit February 2025: The welcome is very pleasant and the products offered are homemade and of high quality. I was finally able to try the black sesame and lemon cheesecakes and I was not disappointed. The black sesame one was particularly comforting. These sweets are very balanced and therefore not very sweet, which allows you to better appreciate the flavors.

(Translated by Google) Lovely grocery/pastry/bento takeaway. The shop's specialty is grinding its buckwheat flour on site and preparing soba (buckwheat noodles) on site as well. You can see through a window the preparation of its pasta using Japanese techniques. They serve mochi, cheesecake, bento, onogiri and fresh buckwheat noodles, miso and Japanese products or products made with French buckwheat. A super interesting fusion grocery store. The bento was delicious, it changes every week. There are always vegetarian options. Mine had pickled onions, cooked shitake, zucchini, cabbage and carrot salad, and feta cheese. All served with a little sesame vinaigrette. I also tried an onogiri with pesto rosso, rice seasoned with parsley and sesame seeds. The black sesame cheesecake is incredible. In short, everything is excellent. Remember to bring cutlery, because it's for taking home/to the park/to work. ;D

(Translated by Google) Discovery of this extraordinary store thanks to a friend already won over by the products on offer. A little far from my neighborhood but this authentic Japanese cuisine deserves a little effort 😃. The welcome is warm and the passionate owner explains her creative processes to us in all simplicity. The mochis are stunning, fresh, authentic and delicate flavors without any unpleasant sweetness. It is urgent to go back to discover other “homemade” treasures 🌸 (Original) Découverte de cette boutique extraordinaire grâce à un ami déjà conquis par les produits proposés. (Translated by Google) I thought carefully before posting and after several attempts, I find their soba quite disappointing. The broth is not very complex and the noodles lack intensity. I expected more from this brand which lacks originality and real plus.
