Soup restaurant
RaviSoups is a laid-back, quick-service eatery that serves up an array of globally influenced soups and wraps. With three locations in Toronto, including the West Queen West branch known for its cozy ambiance and straightforward menu, this family-owned establishment has become a popular choice for those seeking nourishing and satisfying meals. Customers rave about the flavorful soups and delectable wraps, often opting for takeout or delivery to enjoy these carefully prepared dishes.
Hidden gem in the city, but worth the visit! Perfect meal for a cold winter day, with a lovely selection of soups and wraps that truly hit the spot! Tried the curried apricot and red lentil, as well as the butternut squash soups and they're absolutely incredible. Generous portions, and come with a biscuit and a flavourful red pepper jelly/sauce. Like the soup, the incredibly warm and inviting staff make the experience all the more enjoyable! Can't wait to return to try all their other soups!

Wow. 5 stars!!! The chicken hot pot soup was phenomenal!!! The biscuit was a great addition. What a perfect meal. I would come back here just to order it again. I was a bit nervous about trying something new but this place impressed me. Came around 530pm not too busy, cozy seating area and quiet. Friendly service.

📌 100000/10 The soups are incredibly rich in flavor, wraps are culinary masterpieces where each ingredient adds its magic to the orchestra of flavor. Mango lassi is perfect, it’s easy to tell that it was made with actual fruits! It’s a lovely family business and an absolute gem of Toronto. Will come here again :)
Assel A — Google review
10/10 Food with a homely feel. This is a must try for everyone traveling to Toronto and all the Toronto residents (obviously). In my opinion, it's one of Toronto biggest hidden gems. Affordable, tasty, and unique - I would definitely come here again.

Awesome back patio seating. I got the Ravi Stew and it was so good that I came back for it with my sister. The butternut squash soup was also absolutely delicious. Great flavors and textures in both.

delicious and possibly the best wrap i have had in a long time! such a flavourful and seasoned lamb, so juicy! the vegetables in the wrap were so fresh and tasted great very nice and cute restaurant and very kind staff
Meg V — Google review
Rarely do I say that someone went above and beyond, but our waiter from last night, Ravi's Cousin, did just that. What a nice and genuine guy! Excellent service, delicious food, and overall fantastic night. The patio in the back was also super charming. Great job guys. 100% will come back.

i am sick at home and ordered a soup, it cost 35 dollars and i was expecting a bowl of soup. it’s sooooo small and not worth the price. i couldn’t believe it honestly. it’s more like a cup of soup and a wrap for 22 dollars plus all their uber eats chargers. do not recommend.

United Bakers Dairy Restaurant, a long-standing diner established in 1912, has been a beloved spot for generations of Torontonians. Specializing in dairy, vegetable, and fish dishes along with fresh pastries, this uptown staple offers simple yet delicious food. Despite relocating from its original location, the restaurant continues to charm patrons with its endearing atmosphere. The establishment is known for its strong sense of community and friendly service.
United Bakers is a slice of nostalgia. It feels like your neighbourhood diner, offering up friendly service and homemade classics. The pea soup was phenomenal. We also really enjoyed the Greek salad and latkes. Our server, Mert, was absolutely fantastic and one of the best parts of the experience. He was friendly, generous, and made great recommendations.
Theresa — Google review
Felt instantly welcomed by the hosts and seated in a classic diner style booth that was very comfortable. Craved a tuna melt and it was delicious. They were fast to seat us and very accommodating for little people. Everyone had quite a warm and positive feeling about them. Will go back. 😊
EatingYYZ — Google review
Food was fine. Mostly bland, nothing special which was surprising given the good reviews. Service was very slow. You have to call over a waiter for everything -to order, asking for water, asking for ketchup, asking for the bill. The politics are very present so be aware if you don’t want to see/engage.
Joy B — Google review
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The food at United Bakers Dairy was absolutely fresh and delicious! 🥗🍞🧀 Everything tasted homemade and full of flavor. The service was friendly and welcoming 😊☕️. Definitely a place I’ll keep coming back to! 💯👌
Shayan G — Google review
The food was very good, the fries were crispy, I ordered a vegan burger and my girlfriend had a bagel with cheese and pizza-style tomato sauce, everything was delicious and the ladies who served us were excellent. The prices were very reasonable since the dish I ordered even came with a salad. 👌🏻
Maria Z — Google review
Great place for breakfast, lunch and brunch. For me United is the best place in the city for eggs. That is not all they have on the menu. There are many other entrees, sandwiches and salads. If you can't find something you want, talk to the server. The kitchen might make what you want. Just keepnin mind this restaurant does not offer anything meat. There is a selection of baked goods at the front. No doubt you will find something to your liking there.
Joel T — Google review
Just an average place. Food was bland but portions were decent. On the cheaper side of pricing compared to places these days. Service was fast and it’s good a good feel to it.
Ankita K — Google review
I've been to and driven by this plaza thousands upon thousands of times over 30+ years, frequently shopping at the Winners and Metro, but yet somehow never stepped foot inside of United Bakers until today at my friends suggestion while waiting for him. I mean, maybe I'd been there as a kid, but cannot remember. Anyways, I immediately loved the oldschool vibe inside, but will be honest: seeing photos in the reviews, I didn't expect much... looked like pretty standard, bland, Jewish fare (which I'm very well acquainted with). Thankfully, to my surprise, we ended up being thoroughly impressed by the majority of what we ordered. The pea soup was really fantastic and so too was the cream cheese & lox platter, as well as the blueberry cheesecake. That made for a *fantastic* three course meal. Unfortunately, the macaroni and cheese left much to be desired, with barely any cheese flavour being perceptible (it was very, very, bland) and the texture being a touch too pasty, almost fresh cement-like, for my liking. Secondly, the oreo cheesecake left very much to be desired after the super soft and velvety, delectable, blueberry one. We expected they'd be of a similar texture, but the oreo one was significantly harder and really not to our liking, but certainly edible. Oh, I don't want to neglect the sides that came with the cream cheese and lox platter; both their coleslaw and potato salad were absolutely fantastic- could eat a bowl of each on their own, happily! Coffee was also surprisingly tasty. Service was great- very warm and attentive, and food comes out quickly yet is very obviously fresh and of high quality. My only other criticism is that I felt a couple of items were maybe ever so slightly overpriced, but in retrospect, maybe not even by todays standards. Overall, extremely pleased with my first experience at this institution and will certainly be back in no time to explore more of their menu, as well as to revisit a couple of the aforementioned standouts.

If you're on the hunt for a cozy spot to indulge in authentic Eastern European cuisine, look no further than Cafe Polonez. This charming restaurant offers a delightful array of homestyle Polish dishes alongside Ukrainian and Hungarian specialties. From hearty bowls of borscht—both cold and hot—to crispy potato pancakes and traditional schnitzel topped with mushrooms, there's something to satisfy every palate.
Great lunch at Cafe Polonez. Post high park outing, took the parents out to experience proper Polish home cooking. Delicious and comforting. Will def be back for more! Ordered chicken schnitzel, pork cabbage rolls and, cheddar and potato pierogi

The service was absolutely outstanding and made us feel completely at home from the moment we walked in. I asked about the soup of the day and was over the moon to find out it was dill pickle soup, which they serve on Fridays. That happens to be my favorite, so it felt like a lucky surprise. The portions were incredibly generous, and the prices were more than fair for the quality and quantity we received. But what truly stood out was the genuine warmth and friendliness of the staff. Their service came with a smile and such care that it elevated the entire experience. Every dish we ordered was delicious, and we all left feeling happy, full, and eager to come back.

Four of us went for dinner. It was the Labor Day Sunday so it was busy. The hostess was very friendly and accommodating. There was a 39 minute wait due to availability. We went for a walk and 5 minutes later the hostess called us back. Amazing 🍀. The servers were quite busy so we had to wait for them to be available. No problem. Once we ordered the staff was attentive and helpful. I was missing their pickle soup. Thankfully, it was the soup of the day 🙏. We ordered our soups, Schnitzel, cabbage rolls and goulash. Wonderful! Love coming here! ♥️

Located in the heart of Toronto’s Polish community we had been to this restaurant for over 25 years. This family runs Polish restaurant serves tradition homemade dishes and Eastern European delights that makes you look around and check exactly where you are. Our server is very pleasant and attentive. Their atmosphere is bright and casual. Explore their menu for yourself. Just found out Cafe Polonez is offering takeout and delivery service now.

Food was classic polish cuisine. So delicious! We ordered the zurek soup and a wide array of sides. Everything was perfectly executed. 100% recommended.
María A — Google review
My friend and I had a fabulous meal at Café Polonez recently. The service was great, the food was absolutely delicious and a very generous portion, and the price was fair. We are already planning our next visit! The only slightly strange thing for me - is asked for some extra gravy to take home with my leftovers and was charged $7. I thought that was expensive for gravy - but when I went to use the gravy I realized it was actually a side of beef goulash! Not exactly what I was expecting but a pleasant surprise. 🙂
Erin H — Google review
Food was really yummy, such a nice hearty meal. I got mushroom cabbage rolls with a side of cheddar perogies. They were sooooo delicious. The place is really popular and super packed, so attentive little on the noisy side and it's difficult for servers to keep up, but i understand. Still a great place to try authentic polish food.
Shahida H — Google review
We ordered the platter so we can try a bit of everything, and this was such a generous portion and delicious. We had pork and chicken schnitzel, sauerkraut, beet salad, carrots, coleslaw, cabbage rolls, and pierogies. Food was amazing, tasted homemade and fresh. Service was great and friendly. Can't wait to go back here and try more options.

French restaurant
Maison Selby is an elegant French bistro located east of Yorkville, conveniently close to the Sherbourne TTC station. The restaurant offers a sophisticated and historical setting with different rooms featuring eye-catching wallpaper and vintage themes. It is owned by Oliver + Bonacini Hospitality, ensuring excellent food quality. The menu includes classic French comfort dishes such as frites, French onion soup, and shrimp cocktail remoulade style.
Came here for my partner’s birthday and had a great experience. Only one staff member was on the floor, but he was incredibly professional, attentive, and friendly throughout the evening. Although our food was delayed due to a kitchen mix-up, the staff handled it quickly and graciously. They went above and beyond to make up for the inconvenience, which we truly appreciated. As for the food, it was delicious. I highly recommend the salmon - sauce was so tasty. However, the meat in the beef bourguignon was a bit dry.. Overall, it was a lovely night. I definitely recommend this place if you’re looking to treat yourself and your partner to a memorable dinner.
Flow — Google review
From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and a welcoming vibe that set the tone for a great evening. The service stood out right away—especially our server, Liloo. She was kind, attentive, and really knew the menu. Her recommendations were thoughtful and helped us enjoy each dish even more. The chefs deserve credit too—the food looked beautiful and tasted just as good. The whole front-of-house team made us feel comfortable and taken care of the entire night. Out of the drinks, the Pineapple Mule was the winner. It had a nice mix of ginger, soda, lime, and pineapple—refreshing and balanced. The Raspberry Pepper Mojito, though, didn’t have much flavour and was a bit of a letdown. The Aperol Spritz was light and dry, with a bitter finish. It’s more for people who like the taste of rosé wine and their cocktails on the less sweet side. The appetizers were a strong start. The escargot was one of the best things we had—rich, buttery, and perfect with the baguette. The French onion soup was full of flavour, warm and comforting, though it could’ve used a bit more caramelized onion. The beef tartare was also a surprise hit—bold and unique, with the Dijon, quail egg, and pickled herring adding a lot of flavour. For mains, the beef bourguignon was hearty and satisfying. The beef was tender, the mashed potatoes were creamy, and the veggies added a nice texture. A slightly more pronounced red wine taste would have made the stew perfect, but it was still excellent. The cod basquaise, on the other hand, was just okay. The fish was cooked well, but the broth didn’t have much flavour and didn’t quite match the quality of everything else. The broth definitely needed more time to absorb its flavour. Dessert ended things on a quieter note. The crème brûlée was fine, but nothing special. The texture was okay, and the strawberries added a nice touch, but it felt more like a dessert from a casual spot rather than a fine dining place. Overall, this was a great experience. The food, service, and atmosphere all came together to make the night special. Even with a few misses, it exceeded our expectations. We’re excited to come back.

Great place for a fancy meal. Be prepared to spend money, but know that the price is with it. Food is delicious and there is a good selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. The menu is simple but innovative. Choices are healthy and varied. Drop by for a meal or drinks. Really like the decor and keeping with the "Maison" motif.
Joshua C — Google review
Elegant Charm and French Flavour in the Heart of the City Maison Selby is a refined gem nestled in a beautifully restored heritage building in downtown Toronto. From the moment you step inside, you’re transported — the gorgeous, thoughtfully preserved décor strikes the perfect balance between old-world charm and modern sophistication. It’s an ideal setting for both casual lunch dates and special occasions. I visited for a midday meal and was thoroughly impressed. The French-inspired menu was executed with finesse — rich in flavour, beautifully presented, and perfectly portioned. Each dish felt considered and true to the culinary tradition it represented. Service was warm and attentive without being intrusive, and the team made the experience feel genuinely welcoming. On a warm day, their fabulous patio is the perfect place to linger, offering a quiet escape in the heart of the city. With its convenient location, elegant atmosphere, and consistently excellent food and service, Maison Selby delivers a distinctly Parisian experience — no passport required. A must-visit for those who appreciate classic hospitality and culinary craft. I only managed to get a couple of photos, But I’ll be back and provide another update.
Mello — Google review
I loved the ambiance. Staff was nice. Maison Selby is definitely a hidden gem in Toronto—quite literally, since the location is a bit tucked away and not the easiest to find. It’s off the beaten path, and unless you’re familiar with the area, you’ll likely need to grab an Uber. Parking seems limited, and it’s not particularly close to a subway station, so getting there can be a bit of a trek. That said, once you arrive, the experience is worth it. The standout for me was the ambiance. The space is beautifully designed, intimate and lovely and has a really special energy that makes it feel like more than just another restaurant. It’s the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to linger a little longer over your meal. The food was very good, thoughtfully prepared, and flavorful—clearly some care went into both the menu and presentation. While the service wasn’t flawless, it was fine enough and didn’t detract too much from the evening. The staff got the job done, though there’s definitely room for a bit more attentiveness. Overall, Maison Selby is a spot I’d return to. The ambiance alone makes it memorable, and paired with good food, it’s an experience worth repeating despite the minor inconveniences of location and parking.
Kerry B — Google review
Went here on a promotion they gave for valentine week. We had to choose from a limited item menu. The food wasonly fun but far from the picture I had in mind for a fancy restaurant like this. The dessert in particular was far from something that someone would put effort on! The tables were very small and close to each other too. The service staff were friendly and efficient. The venue was an old house turned into a restaurant. Overall I won't likely come back but it was good that we tried it once!
Maral V — Google review
The space felt warm and charming. Staff was attentive and friendly. • Beef tartare (off-menu): bold with layers of flavour. The pickled herring added just the right hit. • Duck liver parfait (off-menu): very creamy, buttery, and smooth. It had me saying, “Yup, we’re definitely coming back.” • Sweet green pea tartine: fresh but a bit too carb-heavy for me after the tartare and parfait. And the poached egg was slightly overcooked. • Fennel salad: very light. The lemon vinaigrette and the anchovy added a nice kick and umami. • Artichoke barigoule: rich, salty, creamy and tangy in all the right ways. • Strip loin steak: cooked just right to medium rare. The French onion baked potato was yum!! • Dessert was a little simple and not that special, imo. Even with a couple of dishes that didn’t totally wow, the overall experience exceeded expectations so we’ll definitely be back.

Soup Nutsy is a delightful haven for soup lovers, offering an array of globally inspired soups that change daily, alongside tasty sandwiches and salads. This PATH-based mini-chain has garnered a devoted following among the busy professionals in downtown, with many even organizing group trips just to indulge in their flavorful offerings.
"En route to Union Station, I stumbled upon an unexpected culinary delight. This modest establishment, nestled discreetly along the path, boasted a remarkable selection of house-made soups – no fewer than ten! After much deliberation, I narrowed my choices to three, and to my delight, the affable staff graciously indulged my request for a tasting. The lobster bisque ultimately captivated my palate. Striking a masterful balance, it delivered rich, nuanced flavors of the sea without succumbing to the common pitfall of an overly fishy character. This is a testament to the chef's culinary prowess. While the confines necessitated a hallway repast – a table and chair were fortunately provided – the experience itself was nothing short of delightful. Toronto's culinary scene promises much, and I eagerly await the opportunity to further explore its hidden gems upon my return."
Michael M — Google review
Soup Nutsy is a great lunch spot in the PATH for your lunchtime soup cravings! Although a bit pricey, it is absolutely worth it. Lots of variety in every category (Seafood, Meat, Veggie). I enjoy the Vegetable cabbage soup, which is a “lighter” soup but still fills you up and has lots of flavour!! Delicious. This location is inside the TD Centre, accessible via the PATH from union station through the Royal Bank Plaza entrance. Only drawback is that it is only open during the PATH office hours and unfortunately not open on weekends.

I ordered the chicken noodle soup and soup broth for a family member who was sick and delivered through ubereats. They said it was the worse soup they ever had, and how the chicken looked raw. They kindly apologized but they my kind gesture turned out horribly for my family member who was sick. Also they delivered 2 soups with no spoon to his workplace!

I've only tried the bisques - Jamaican Crab Bisque, Creole Bisque and Lobster Bisque, but all have been delicious. The breads are always fresh and tasty as well. Service is always cheerful. It's a little tucked away in the PATH but easy to find with use of landmarks.

Before I tried it I used to wonder why anyone would line up for soup. It seemed a little cliche, playing out just like the Seinfeld episode for which the restaurant is named. But then I tried it and fully understood. I went back the next day and have since gone back several times. Although the line up might seem long, it does move at a fast pace (after all it doesn’t take long for the team to scoop the soup into a bowl). You can avoid the line entirely by ordering in advance with the Ritual app. Try it once and you’ll be hooked!

Went there today and got some soup and a popsicle! The employee inside was super friendly and welcoming. The popsicle was refreshing and the soup was delicious! Such a neat store that recently opened. Highly recommend you check it out when you are in the area! It also has some paintings up from local artists which is awesome.

Esther Queen of Soups is a hidden gem located in Cumberland Terrace, offering a variety of homestyle soups daily, including dairy- and gluten-free options. Run by friendly Sri Lankan ladies, this spot serves up delicious and hearty soups along with tasty meat curries such as chicken, lamb, and fish. The mulligatawny soup is highly recommended, and the freshly made samosas are a must-try.
Wholesome and hearty dishes bring you to memories from your mom's cooking. Esther offers something amazing for everyone. Affordable, flavorful, and healthy options. Esther and her staff are super friendly and makes you want to visit again.

A hole in the wall that you need to try. Great soups and meals served with heart. Sri Lankan spices. Yummy dhal, curry beef and butter chicken dishes.

It's Sri Lankan food similar to Indian food. It's run by these nice Sri Lankan ladies and the food taste like homemade. The soups are delicious and hearty. The chicken, lamp, fish curries are tasty and come with vegetables (you can ask for more veggies.) They also have Samosas freshly made. If you are around Yonge/Bay and Bloor, this place is fantastic to grab a nice warm soup or any of the meat curries 😋😋

I love eating at Esther's - she's really the Queen of Soups, and also Queen of Curries! This is one of the only reasons to visit Cumberland Terrace. The soups are really tasty and there's a lot of variety - you'll never get bored. The curries are fantastic: curry, rice, and vegetable sides - all amazing.

Best soups in the city. You can taste how fresh it is. My go to for an amazing chicken noodle soup or a mulligatawny. They remembered me after not going there for so long. Must try and must support!!

Well, I ordered a simple chicken noodle soup. It had zero flavour, no vegetables, and macaroni noodles and no bread. Cost over $8. I added salt and that didn’t even help. Took 2 more bites and had to leave it behind. I was quite disappointed by the queen of soups.

Authentic Japanese restaurant
Japanese restaurant
Noodle shop
Ramen Isshin is a popular destination in Toronto known for its authentic Japanese ramen noodle soup. The restaurant offers a variety of options, including the signature Wok Fried Red Miso Ramen, Shoyu Kotteri Tsukemen, Black Sesame Tan Tan Noodle, and White Sesame Shio Ramen. Vegetarian ramen options are also available.
Atmosphere rated 4/5 because the music was slightly too loud and I would have preferred a physical food menu, since the drink menu was a physical one. The pork in my ramen was cooked to perfection. I had the gyoza and Kotteri Rich Shoyu ramen. They were both delicious. Food arrived incredibly quickly after ordering. Staff were attentive and friendly. I had the hibiscus yuzu soda to drink and I would recommend. Great place, would love to come back if I had more time here.
Madeleine H — Google review
We started with the chicken karaage. It had a nice thin crispy skin. The inside was very juicy. Just wish they gave more than just simple Kewpie as the dip. A garlic dip would have been nice! The Red Dragon was very flavorful. It reminded me of Chinese flavors with the spices. It was savory and packed a nice punch. My favorite was the garlic roasted shoyu. The broth was beautifully creamy and rich. The Cha shu melted in your mouth. The noodles had a great chew and bounce to them. Service was quick and friendly. It's not my favorite ramen spot on College, but it was still very good!
Stan — Google review
Today I tried the spicy red miso ramen at Isshin Ramen. As with most ramen locations, no condiments were on the table. With that being said, I was certainly surprised when I took my first taste of the soup broth. The soup was very tasty and thick. I could taste the quality and attention to detail in the subtle flavours of the broth. The ramen came with bean sprouts, carrots, onions, wood ear mushroom, and chives that were wok fried plus a good amount of green onion slices. Lastly two slices of cha shu pork. The spice level of the soup could have been hotter for me but still enjoyable. I would say the level was light to medium in heat. The wavy noodles were chewy and picked up the taste of the soup very well. I will certainly be back to try other ramen dishes in the future. This ramen shop has a great selection of appetizers like tako wasabi and age tofu to name two. Overall, great ramen and an excellent selection of dishes to choose from. Well worth the visit.
Bob K — Google review
The restaurant wasn't busy when we were there around 12:30pm on a Sunday. We ordered 4 different kinds of ramen and an order of cream croquettes. The croquettes were very hot but the filling was a little runny. Out of the 4 ramen bowls, the black sesame tan tan was the best. The tomato soup in a stone bowl dip noodles was just alright. The other 2 were not bad. Service was good.

The wait ended and we finally dined in at Ramen Isshin, College St location. Vegan and Vegetarian options at a classic ramen bar style resto is a great offering. The staff is very friendly and patient with you orders and very helpful too helping with dietary requirements. We like our vegetario Miso and Garlic ramen bowls with a special mention to the burnt garlic shoyu. A friend accompanying us tried the chicken starter and the ramen bowl and was pretty impressed. Service was pretty quick. Prices are on the expensive side given the quantity. Decent experience if you one is craving for vegetarian warm comfort noodle bowls

A bit older venue than their branch in Queen st. We liked that one better. Service was fast and good. Didn't like the light shoyu at all! The soup tasted like seafood but it wasn't part of the menu description.

Pho restaurant

Vietnamese restaurant
Pho Tien Thanh is a popular Vietnamese restaurant located on Ossington Avenue in Toronto. It stands out for its classic Vietnamese dishes and generous portions of ingredients. The rare beef soup is a must-try, and the restaurant is known for nailing Vietnamese noodle dishes with its classic pho, broth, and bun nem sauce. Many locals have fond memories of dining here, making it a favorite spot for those living in the west end of the city.
Come here at least once to understand why they’ve earned Michelin stars for five consecutive years. This pho is the Vietnamese southern style, so the broth might be a bit different from other pho you’ve tried. But trust me, it’s 100% authentic. The sriracha and hoisin sauce are also homemade, so they’re a great complement to the pho. There will be a bit of a wait during weekends.
Ethan D — Google review
It's the first place I've had pho soup, but I haven't been in a while, and what I've seen is, sadly, deplorable. They've lost their flavor, and the disrespectful and indifferent waiters serve you while dragging their slippers. They didn’t even clean dirty the table we sit. They put meat fat in my soup instead of chunks of meat, as you can see in the pictures I've shared. Even though I warned the waiters several times, they did not help me about the fat in the meat and ignored me. So I strongly do not recommend it. You can find more delicious Vietnamese restaurants. Only the name of this place remains, the rest is empty.
Mehmet E — Google review
It is the overrated spot by Michelin Especially too dirty wall and so many insects on the Bruce Lee of paint. When you eat foods, you need clean spot for you clean dishes. The soup (#21, #7) is not flavorful and beef fat oily, greasy and rice noodle is just so so. Nothing special ! Shrimp spring roll is also not tasty at all. There are so so many great pho restaurants bettee than this. Sorry...

“One of Toronto’s Best Bowls of Pho — A Must-Visit on Ossington!” Pho Tien Thanh is hands-down one of my favorite spots in Toronto for Vietnamese food, and honestly, it never disappoints. From the moment you walk in, you know you’re in for something comforting and authentic. It’s not fancy, and it doesn’t try to be — but the flavors, the speed, and the warmth of the place make it a go-to every time I’m craving a good bowl of pho. The pho broth here is what truly sets them apart. It’s rich, aromatic, and full of depth — you can tell it’s been simmering for hours with care. Unlike places where the broth is bland or overly salty, this one strikes a perfect balance. The beef is always tender, whether you go for rare slices, brisket, or beef balls, and the noodles are cooked just right — not too soft, not too firm. My usual order is the rare beef pho with extra lime and fresh herbs, and it always hits the spot. The accompanying plate of Thai basil, bean sprouts, lime, and chili is generous and fresh, which is something I really appreciate. And if you’re into spice, their house chili oil is amazing — just the right kind of heat to elevate the dish without overpowering the broth. Aside from pho, the spring rolls are also worth trying — crispy, flavorful, and not greasy. Everything just tastes homemade in the best way possible. Portions are generous, too. You’ll leave full, happy, and probably thinking about your next visit. Service is fast and efficient. Don’t expect over-the-top friendliness, but the staff are polite, quick, and get the job done. The food comes out fast (like, impressively fast), which is great whether you’re grabbing lunch on a tight schedule or dining in casually. The atmosphere is cozy and bustling — it’s often busy, but that’s part of its charm. It’s loud, energetic, and full of people slurping noodles and chatting over hot bowls. There’s something really comforting about it. Prices are super reasonable considering the quality and portion size. In a city where prices are climbing everywhere, Pho Tien Thanh still feels like a good deal. You walk out feeling like you just had something nourishing and satisfying without breaking the bank. I’ve been to a lot of pho places across Toronto, and this one stays at the top of my list. Whether you’re new to pho or a long-time fan, Pho Tien Thanh is the real deal. It’s unpretentious, fast, flavorful, and everything you want in a good bowl of Vietnamese noodle soup. Highly recommend it — five stars all the way!
Kal S — Google review
After passing by Pho Tien Thanh on Ossington many times, I finally decided to stop in and I’m glad I did. As a first-time visitor, the experience was smooth and welcoming. We were a table of two and got seated right away. We ordered the Bún Bò Huế, which came with a generous portion of meat and a broth that was bold, aromatic, and flavorful. The standout for me, though, was the Phở Đặc Biệt. The broth was exceptionally clean yet deeply rich in flavor a sign of careful preparation and high-quality ingredients. It struck that perfect balance between lightness and depth, which is hard to find and even harder to master. Service was polite and fairly quick, and the overall atmosphere felt relaxed yet efficient. This might just be my new favorite pho spot in downtown Toronto. I’m already looking forward to returning to explore more of the menu and see how consistently they deliver across dishes. Based on this visit, Pho Tien Thanh is a must-try for any Vietnamese food lover.

The Wyck Recommendation: Pho Thien Thanh (Ossington) Rating: 3.6/5 Twelve Years, One Shrimp Slice Too Far Intro Scene The first shrimp split in my fingers like wet paper. Cold. Translucent. Sliced in half and then—just for good measure—sliced in half again. That was the moment it hit me: I’ve been coming to Pho Thien Thanh for twelve years, and this was the first time I felt like I shouldn’t have. What Was Ordered Crispy Beef Egg Noodle – Still iconic. That golden noodle nest, soaked just enough, beef melting into sauce. They could bottle this dish and sell it as nostalgia. Fresh Rolls with Shrimp – Shrimp? Technically, yes. Emotionally? No. They were sliced into near-invisibility and tasted like they’d just been rescued from a freezer meltdown. Mango Salad with Shrimp – The mango was fine. The shrimp ruined it. Cold, rubbery, and flavorless—like someone found the word “shrimp” in a book and improvised. Service Commentary Inside service was robotic—efficient but checked out, like no one really wanted to be there. But the patio staff saved it. Friendly, attentive, and actually seemed to enjoy being alive. They delivered food fast, made eye contact, even cracked a smile. You could feel the difference in air and attitude just by stepping outside. Vibe Check It’s not a vibe, it’s a commitment. Inside feels like a cafeteria trapped in 2007—fluorescent lighting, red booths, plastic decor, zero soundtrack. But outside? Different story. Sunlight, a good breeze, and a crispy noodle bowl in front of you suddenly makes everything feel almost charming. The Space Itself No renovations, no frills, no distractions. It’s the kind of space where you eat fast and don’t Instagram it. Clean enough, never cozy. But for years, that simplicity worked because the food pulled all the weight. When the food stumbles, though, the blank walls start to echo louder. About the Neighborhood This is prime Ossington, and that means pressure. You’re flanked by wine bars, galleries, and places where the servers explain the provenance of your salt. Bang Bang Ice Cream is two doors down, and people are literally lined up around the block for a scoop in a bubble waffle. In this zone, you don’t get to slack—not even on a Tuesday. It’s not personal, it’s location. Hits & Misses ✓ Crispy beef egg noodles – still the undisputed king ✓ Patio staff – alert, kind, and on top of it ✓ Fast service – food hit the table quick ✗ Shrimp sliced into existential crisis – frozen, flavorless, then sliced again ✗ Fresh rolls – dry wrap, sad lettuce, no bounce ✗ Mango salad – tasted like a half-remembered recipe from a tired prep cook Final Verdict This isn’t a takedown—it’s a love letter written in red pen. I’ve spent over a decade ordering the same dish here and raving about it to anyone who’d listen. But this visit felt like a betrayal by a friend who forgot your birthday. Maybe the cook was new. Maybe it was just a weird Tuesday. But on Ossington, consistency is currency. I’ll be back—for the crispy noodle, for the patio staff—but if they want to keep their crown, the rest of the menu needs to rise to its level. This place has greatness in its bones. Don’t let it slide into autopilot. Rating: 3.6/5 Perfect for: Noodle loyalists with a high tolerance for shrimp-related heartbreak Patio dining when you want a classic without the performance
The W — Google review
This is one of those perfect no frills restaurants. Everything we ordered was so good, the servers are fast and nice, the inside has a friendly vibe. I always get pho when trying a new viet restaurant as a sort of control and theirs is delicious. The meat is fresh and the broth is flavorful and not watery. Comes with all the right toppings. The vermicelli in the noodle salad is nice and al dente and the bbq meats are flavorful and grilled perfectly. I also love that they have an extensive menu with a lot of options and deep cuts. Was particularly impressed by their mango salad which came with a pretty solid amount of shrimp and was refreshing on a hot summer day. Would come back over and over and would also bet it’s better than the other overly gentrified Vietnamese restaurants in the area with better ratings for “ambience”.
Amanda B — Google review
Over hyped. It’s good/decent but nothing outstanding. I was imagining home cook level of bone broth, something extra special. The spring rolls were mediocre, not too crispy. The portions were big, service was attentive, the restaurant is clean but minimal and it’s your regular hole in the wall feel. They accept cash only, that was a hassle, since we don’t trust small machines- had to walk 20 mins to get to a bank and back. We went out of our way to get here and paid for parking, so all in all if you are in the neighborhood, sure why not, but I wouldn’t go out of my way again.

A take out vegan place for the ones in a hurry. I ordered a LARGE roti in paratha with curried chickpeas & potato and seasoned jamaican pumpkin. It was so deliciously hot when I opened it, the spices noted really tasty. The service was fast, the food came right in. However, it's little if you want to dine in and it has a small menu. But even so, I recommend it 100%.

I feel badly giving this place a 1 star, but I must. I used to come here many years ago. I was recently in the area and stopped by to grab some treats to bring home and the pastries tasted very off. The coconut hazelnut macaroon had this off -putting freezer/fridge burn type of taste. I ordered the mini plum donut and was given a raspberry instead. All the other donuts I ordered were very dry and empty, barely any jam. Everything was stale. I didn't take the poor customer service too seriously until after tasting the pastries and reading some really bad reviews on here. I suppose it wasn't all in my head that the service was dismissive and rude. It felt like the older lady didn't want to serve me at all.

We bought 4 pastries and only 2 were ok..... nothing was impressive or stood out or was any of them delicious... They looked delicious from the window tho.. The peanut butter pecan pie was impossible to break with a silver fork. And the taste was stale and unpleasant. The only ok pastry was the tiramisu - still nothing amazing but it was the best one out of all. I live 8mins away but will not return.. theres other handful of good cafes in the area.

Mogouyan Hand Pulled Noodle is a Chinese restaurant known for its delicious Lanzhou-style noodle dishes and hand-pulled noodles. The menu offers a variety of noodle shapes, from thin and flat to round and thick. In addition to noodles, the restaurant serves up classic Chinese fare such as skewers and appetizers. Customers have praised the tender and flavorful lamb skewers, while some have noted that the soup lacked flavor despite ordering it extra spicy.
Overall everything was amazing. The first thing that attracted me to this place was the guy in the front hand pulling the noodles. We were seated relatively quickly. Our server was very kind and respectful and in general the staff here are kind. We then ordered and the drinks came within a few mins. The drinks were delicious and huge! A great size drink for $6.95. I personally ordered the thin hand pulled noodles with beef paste and I highly recommend trying this. The noodle itself was soft, slightly chewy, and had a great texture! I would definitely come back to eat here!

The food here is insanely good. I really liked the variety of options available here. I went with the braised beef noodles. They are super flavorful and the noodles have great bite to them. My server asked me for allergy information while taking my order too, I haven't had that happen at a restaurant before, usually I need to tell them myself so it was really nice to be prompted. I also got the squid skewers and they were just as good as the noodles I got. One of the servers has a super cool manicure too, he was super nice. Love seeing a confident king. I will definitely come back next time I'm in town.

Hand-pulled noodles were amazing! The atmosphere was great and the service was excellent. The server made a few recommendations, and everything I tried was full of flavor. I ordered the braised beef with classic noodles, the lamb skewers, and the spring rolls, all were delicious. There’s a wide selection of dishes, and the prices are very fair for the quality of food. Even though it was busy, the staff handled it perfectly. Highly recommended!

Overall pretty solid place. Good for a cold day. The spicy lamb skewers were really good. I felt like I was eating them from a street vendor in Hong Kong. The perfect amount of crunch from the seasoning on the outside. Tender and succulent meat. Delicious. The braised beef noodle soup was just average. I ordered the large bowl and they did give a ton of broth and noodles. I wish there was a little more meat in this dish though. Waitress was kind and had a nice smile. Service was excellent and they brought out things I needed before I even asked.

I LOVE the Mango Green Tea here - so refreshing! I tried the classic beef noodle, and it was delicious. What I really liked is that you can choose your noodle type and spice level, which is awesome for customizing your meal. Everything came out really fast, and the servers were super attentive, checking in to make sure we liked everything. Plus, we could take our leftover tea with us, which was a nice bonus. Definitely a great spot for tasty hand-pulled noodles!

First time here and very impressed. So delicious. Mango ice tea is so refreshing, not too sweet and there’s mango jelly inside as well. The female waitress was very polite and welcoming. She is always smiling and gives some recommendations. She was considerate telling me to be careful about my white shirt while eating noodles as it might get stain. I will definitely come back to try another menu.

If there’s one thing you get if you come here, it has to be the traditional stirfry noodles. I ordered it with shrimp and beef, By the way, there are no pork items on the entire menu, I also ordered the Taiwanese sausage and the Vegetable dumplings. The sausage was in for me, but the food was still incredible The service was great. I would definitely come back. Very generous portions as well. The noodles tasted so fresh and as you walk in, you can see the gentleman making the noodles from scratch. Lastly, don’t forget the passion fruit green tea, it’s delicious.

Mogouyan offers Northwest Chinese cuisine, with a focus on hand-pulled noodles. I tried the Classic Beef Noodles, and enjoyed the light broth and texture of the noodles. This is a solid spot for noodles in downtown Toronto if you're just looking for a meal to get full. The portions are generous, and prices are reasonable. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the restaurant can accommodate both small and large groups, along with solo diners. However, the restaurant is not wheelchair accessible.

This place does it right. I got the chicken soup felt great while eating it and after. I'm pretty sure they're most famous soup is the red pea soup though. Can't go wrong with either.

First let me say, this is my go to place when it just opened, and I have continued to go up to yesterday I was there. However I will say the food quality and customer service and standards have dropped tremendously. I always buy the Hominy corn/peanut mix, Plantain and Banana as those are the only porridges I eat. I sometimes buy the red peas soup as I’m not a big soup person. However my experience the times have been here in the last few visits have not been great, the porridge is either lacking spices or is too sweet and the customer service is lacking. Upon entering the store on a Saturday afternoon, the cashier had just cashed a customer who paid with cash and was wearing gloves. She then proceeded to ask what I would like, I asked her to change the gloves because she just cashed a customer out and didn’t change the gloves, she looked me dead straight in the eye and said she wasn’t gonna change the gloves as she is the only staff working and wouldn’t be touching the food so there’s no need to. Without even arguing with her, I just told her I won’t be needing anything anymore, and she didn’t care that a customer was walking out the door. People please wash your hands especially when working in a food establishment it’s not if you feel like , it’s a must. As for the gloves they can cause more harm than good as it’s easier to have cross contamination happening. I support black businesses always and never will stop. Just please use this opportunity to do some training with staff.

the worst is to be sick where you can’t cook for yourself and pit your trust in buying food. i bought soup today , bare oil , no salt and no taste . imagine being sick and then getting soup to make u feel more sick !! this place was always my go to idk what is wrong with but plz don’t buy soup here go to another location . maybe a new cook ? but the worsttt and they never have meat for the soup smh

I got a small goat soup which was disgusting. Flour for thickness and taste was no good. I would not go back.

I had a very disappointing and uncomfortable experience at this restaurant. When I approached the counter to place my order, three employees began speaking to me at the same time, which made it confusing and overwhelming. Clear communication is important, and this kind of interaction felt disorganized and disrespectful. What upset me even more was that after I placed my order and was leaving, I overheard staff making comments about me behind my back. This is completely unprofessional and unacceptable behavior toward a paying customer. To make matters worse, the quality of the food has noticeably declined over time, which only added to the frustration. I expected better treatment and service, and unfortunately, this visit has made me reconsider ever coming back.

Use to be great, but soup is so watery with 2 pieces of meat, no dumplings just potatoes and spinach. I am done. Rather make my soup at home.
D R — Google review
The soup itself is alright. But the lady working today at lunch was so slow and cold/ rude. Other customers in line were even looking at each other shocked at the way she was responding. Maybe she was having a bad day but id never go back with that service. Id drive the extra 10 minutes for better service.

The soup is watered down has no flavour. Food inside the soup tastes like it was premade and warmed up with water added definitely not fresh and watered down. Very disappointed. Was actually my favorite location but will never go back again!

Salad King is a popular Thai eatery located near Ryerson University in Toronto. It has been serving delicious and affordable Thai dishes for over three decades. Originally known as a salad restaurant, it has evolved into a beloved Thai dining spot under the ownership of Ernie and Linda. The restaurant offers an extensive menu featuring classic Pad Thai, Green Curry, Golden Curry, Bangkok Stir Fry, and more.
I love coming here! I come to Toronto for work and what I love to do is come here on my first day in town and order many dishes. They graciously bring all the dishes to my table. It looks ridiculous because I’m alone but then I get to taste them all right away. Then I get take home containers and bring all the leftovers home and I’m good for lunches and dinner for a few days after. Today I tried a new dish (new to me) called Linda’s signature crispy beef panang, so so flavourful. And a vibrant colour (pictured)! Also they have the biggest mango salad I’ve ever seen (pictured). They have a very flexible chili scale (1-20), I don’t handle that much spice so I stay at 1-2, but for those who want more heat there’s lots of room to add spice. And as a bonus, they have amazing take home containers that make wonderful Tupperware for the rest of the trip (they’re dishwasher safe!). Never had a bad experience or a bad meal.

Food: Is excellent here and the add on items are really reasonably priced. If you come here the food will be the highlight. With most of their dishes being around the $20 mark this is a place you can afford to get a few items. Atmosphere: Fun, funky and modern Thai restaurant vibes here. There is ample seating and you get a view on to the street. Service: It could be better. Honestly, the wait times between seating to first check in was long. We sat for almost 15 minutes before someone came. The drink came quick and so did the appetizer but the wait between appetizer to mains was far too long, like 20 minutes. I noticed that was a theme here. They seem to be consistent in being short on servers. The coming and going of uber drivers isn’t very nice. The servers spend too much time pandering to Uber drivers instead of serving the customers in restaurant.

One of our favorite restaurants in Toronto. Been coming here whenever we’re in town. Their off-the-menu Islamic Noodles is our go-to, but decided to try their Hot Thai Noodles, Coconut Shrimp, and Deep-fried Chicken Lemongrass Wontons today. Equally good! Was a pleasant visit as usual, made extra special by our server, Rain, who graciously explained to us the deal of the day. Highly recommended.

Compliments to the chefs! The Kari noodles with the chicken breast was delicious and the wontons had a nice crisp and flavor to them. First time visit and will be back! Gave 3.5 stars because the promptness of the servers could have been better. Also, felt like the bathrooms needed a bit of refreshing. Overall good and spacious location. Food came quickly, although I'd prefer my appetizers on the table before my main course.

I enjoyed this restaurant! The vibe is pretty good and the food is great as well! The price is good for the portions we get and there are many options to choose from. I really liked the tamarind and mango drinks, the lettuce wraps were my favourite though, the chicken ball rice is pretty good and the paneng curry was delicious as well! Next time I will make sure to ask for less spiciness because level 10 was a bit much for me..

Salad King is my favourite go-to restaurant in Toronto. When I came to study in 2011, I visited with my brother and we had the "Islamic Noodles" off of their secret menu. I love that so many of their chicken dishes offer a halal option and that they allow you to choose spice levels with reckless abandon. The staff are always so lovely and patient, especially today when I was served by Rain who has been working since 2012. Nestled away quietly on Yonge St, just a 2-3 mins walk from Dundas Square and the Eaton Centre, consider dropping in for a bite if you love Thai cuisine ❤️

I went to Salad King for lunch on a Friday without a reservation and was seated right away. The hostess was kind and accommodating, finding me a quiet spot as I’d requested. My server, Maggie, was attentive and friendly throughout my meal. The food was absolutely delicious, and the portions were generous. We ordered the Siam Noodles (formerly known as “Islamic Noodles” on their secret menu) and Linda’s Signature Crispy Beef Panang — both were full of flavour and perfectly cooked. Overall, it was a great experience.

Rain provided great service, and the food was enjoyable. Had the panang curry and the Kari noodles, both spice scale 5. The curry I could have probably gone up, but scale 5 was just right to give you that punch of spice. The mango ginger ale was delicious

French restaurant
Le Papillon On Front, originally a creperie since 1971, has evolved into a casual French bistro with a cozy ambiance featuring exposed-brick walls and warm wood tones. The dining room exudes the charm of a French brasserie while maintaining the elegance of its Old Toronto building. Located near the Distillery District on Front Street, it offers classic French dishes such as cassolette, soups, lamb loin, and escargots.
Came here for a birthday dinner, the ambience was very cozy and quiet, it wasn't busy at all when we got there. The appetizers were okay, the escargot was good but the fried brie cheese was a bit too heavy on the seasonings, in our opinion. The main courses however were great; the steak was cooked and seasoned well, and the fries had a good amount of salt. The duck breast tasted like ham, it paired well with the sauce and wedges on the side. The desserts were great as well, the mousse au chocolat was a bit small for the price, though it was very rich. Overall, great experience, would probably try the crepes or French Onion Soup next time.

This sweet St Lawrence staple has been on my list for sometime and I’m so glad my partner and I finally had some time to sit down here for a cozy dinner. Our server Juan was lovely and took the time to recommend the best-ofs on the menu including the French onion soup, the smoked Duck breast, and the Pâtes aux Fruits de Mer all of which paired wonderfully with each other. The pasta is excellent for those looking for a garlic dish over seafood and the Duck breast is an excellent shareable with the breast cut into 7 bite sized pieces served under a heavenly mixed berry sauce and a side of potatoes and string beans. The French onion soup is a tasty and hearty starter to any dish on the menu. Looking forward to coming back to sampling the rest of the menu soon! ☺️

Came here on a Saturday night, we had reservations for 6pm. The restaurant didn’t seem busy, when I walked in through the door I was greeted by the bartender who told me the hostess would be with me in a bit, ended up waiting for a while for her to finish her chat with a table. After waiting awkwardly at the front door for the hostess (which never came) a waiter finally took the initiative to direct me to my seating. Honestly I did not have high hopes for the food after reading the reviews and was not shocked after tasting it. Every dish that came out was cold and lacked flavour and salt. The appetizers came out so fast it was a little sketchy. What we ordered: French Onion Soups Deep Fried Brie Escargot Smoked Duck Breast Boeuf Bourguignon Bouillabaisse Steal and Fries Cassoulet The Deep Fried Brie was cold and tasted like regular mozzarella sticks at a pub, the Escargot lacked so much flavour. There was no garlic butter taste at all! The Smoked Duck Breast tasted like holiday ham and it was a super small portion. The beef in the Beef Stew was dry and the rice was al dente, Steak and fries were SALTY and the best thing in the Cassoulet was the piece of pork belly it came with. The only things that was good was the Bouillabaisse and French onion soup. 2 stars for the waiter that was super friendly and honest and the cocktail my cousin ordered. We also had a birthday cake ($2.50) fee per person.

We came here after work as a group, it was a Thursday night and the place was a bit empty. The service was great and quick, staff was very friendly and welcoming. We ordered a few appetizers for the table such as tuna tartare, shrimps and baked brie cheese, which tasted delicious!!! I had steak and fries for main, my colleagues had different dishes and everyone enjoyed their meal. It looks like it could be a nice place for a romantic dinner, if you are looking for one.

nice ambiance, excellent service and friendly staff. food was good, but dont expect a blissful gastronomic experience. escargot would be better if served in the shells with escargot tong and had more garlic & butter. crepe de la mer was so delicious i would visit again just for it. portion of duck breast and new york steak were kinda small but taste good. burnt sugar layer of creme brulee was way too thick but i like the pudding part. wine was solid, nothing to criticize.

Went for summerlicious and had some nice food. Good deal @ $18/ 3 course meal. Staff was a tad slow, but very accommodating and kind. Soup was a little thin. Salad was simple and elegant, but not very satisfying. Fish and chips was good, but is kind of bar food quality. Fries tend to stick together, but they were nice and crispy! Turkey burger was plain, bun was nice, but I wasn't overly sold on the quality. Ribs were the best item on the summerlicious menu that or group got. Crepe quality is amazing, highly recommend the savoury crepe. Filling (spinach and mushroom) was cooked in truffle oil and was delicious, could have used a larger variety of veggies and at least used baby spinach for tenderness, the spinach was stringy. dessert crepes are too thick and sweet, interesting orange flavour. Coffee ice cream is good, but fruit and syrup was way too sweet

Surprisingly quiet for a Saturday night as there were quite a few empty tables in the restaurant. We got the escargot and french onion soup to start, then the classic coq au vin and smoked duck breast for our entrées. The service was generally good, except we found a piece of hair in our glass of water. The food was good as I expected but nothing to be excited about either.
Charles Z — Google review
The crepe with beef is great! The onion soup (a symbol of French cuisine) in their preparation - I don't like it, I guess they use the cheapest onion and the dish smells, I don't recommend. Smoked duck is nice, a little dry, but maybe it is supposed to be that. The mashed potatoes they put on the siding was not worth the restaurant level, they also put onion in it. Beer. Bottled IPA comes from Goose brewery opposite the street - good, however, draft one is lower than average as well as most canadian beers. Hope wine is better, I did not try it. Btw, it is supposed to be a French restaurant, why do they have Chile on the menu? Honestly, we went there, because a very famous nearby Italian place was too busy (40 min wait time).

Delivery Restaurant
Khao San Road, a lively eatery with vibrant decor and colorful flags, has recently relocated to Charlotte Street but still offers the classic Thai dishes that made it famous in 2011. The crowd-pleasing Pad Thai and refreshing chicken sausage cold rolls are among the favorites. Additionally, dishes like Pad See Ew, Khao Soi, and Pad Gra Prow are popular choices.
Went here last month for the first time! The decoration and overall design of the restaurant are really nice. What surprised me most was when I went upstairs to the washroom, there’s actually a huge space that seems to open at certain times as a bar. There’s a bartender, a full bar counter, and the vibe completely shifts from bright and sunny to a darker atmosphere with purple LED lights!!!Prefect for a late-night bar feel! For the food, it was pretty good overall. The fried shrimp was very crispy. I tried the green curry (can’t remember the exact name), and the sauce was tasty, though the chicken was a little dry and the curry more liquidy than I personally prefer (I usually like a thicker version). The other rice were really good, though! The only dish I didn’t enjoy was the white soup. It had a sour-salty flavor combination that doesn’t sit well with me, and it even gave me a bit of a stomach ache. That’s just a personal taste thing, not the restaurant’s fault. If you enjoy those kinds of flavors, you might love it, but I wouldn’t order it again myself. Definitely coming back to try the desserts!

PAI for those who don’t want to have to reserve a month in advance. I’ve been to both several times and I’ll be honest, they’re on the same level. Prices are reasonable and flavors are great. Expect 30 min plus line during weekend evenings, but there’s a cozy bar upstairs where you can wait. Service was good overall. Perfect to catch up with friends. Special shout-out to the green curry, the table favorite. We wanted to order more rice just to make the curry last a little longer.

This is my second time at Khao San Road, and honestly, this place never disappoints. We arrived on a Saturday night around 8:45 p.m. with a group of five, and it was incredibly packed. It took about 15-20 minutes for our host to attend to us, and in the meantime, we tried speaking to a staff member who seemed flustered. They pointed us to a sign that told us to wait for a host. We tried to be patient, as the place was jam-packed, and we could tell the servers were running around. However, I feel like they should have multiple hosts during such rush hours. Apart from the service, the food was immaculate. Unfortunately, the Pad Kee Mao and Pad Sew Ew were sold out, but we tried most of their popular dishes. The Khao Soi was 10/10; it was so rich and flavorful, one of the best I’ve had. The Green Curry was 7.5/10; it was a very popular dish, but it had a very strong, distinctive taste. The Three Flavour Pad Thai was 10/10; I tried Thai spice, and if you can handle spice, this was incredible. The Bangkok Style Pad Thai was 9.5/10; I don’t have anything to say badly about it, but I definitely preferred the Three Flavour Pad Thai. All the dishes were amazing; you truly can’t go wrong!

We had an incredible experience at Khao San Road! Every dish we tried was bursting with authentic Thai flavor and cooked to perfection. The Three Flavours Pad Thai and Pad See Ew were absolute standouts — perfectly balanced, rich, and deeply satisfying. The Papaya Salad was fresh and tangy (though I’d prefer it without the dried mini shrimp), and the Green Curry was delicious, just a touch sweeter than my personal taste — but still wonderfully aromatic and comforting. Beyond the amazing food, the service was top-notch — friendly, attentive, and fast. It’s clear the team here takes pride in what they do. Definitely one of the best Thai spots in Toronto. We’ll be back soon!

Food is really really good, I went on Saturday evening, got seats on the bar, but the usual wait was 25 mins. It was raining so bit crazy, but we were greeted and seated right away, the servers are really friendly and happy. We chatted despite being busy. We were super full but I was really craving for soup as it was raining. Got tom yum and three spice pad Thai. We couldn’t finish both, because we were full but really enjoyed the atmosphere, food and company. Def come back!!

The food was delicious! You could choose your protein and spice level which was great. The service was very fast! The only thing that we wish was different would be a wider variety of drink options.
Dr. A — Google review
One of the best thai places I have ever been to. I am in love with their khao soi. I really enjoyed all the dishes I ordered. Definitely try their thai iced tea. There is a wait time to get a table as the place is fully packed in the night so if you are going for dinner, plan it accordingly. The place has authentic feel too, but it is a bit noisy as it is crowded.
Sharanya A — Google review
We recently visited Khao San Road on a Sunday afternoon and were pleasantly surprised by how smooth the experience was, even though they don’t take reservations (walk-ins only). We had a group of five and were seated outside within 5–10 minutes, which was great. Service was solid throughout. our server was attentive and had great timing when it came to drinks, starters, mains, and clearing the table. The pacing felt natural; nothing was rushed, but everything came out in a timely manner. We started with the squash fritters, which were a hit! Crispy, flavourful, and paired perfectly with a sweet and lightly spiced dipping sauce. The Thai iced tea latte was exactly as expected sweet, creamy, and refreshing. For mains, we each tried something different and were all happy with our meals. Here’s our ranking from most to least favourite (though even the last was still enjoyable): Khao Soi – Rich, creamy, packed with flavour. The standout dish. Green Curry Fried Rice – Fragrant, well-balanced heat, and deeply satisfying. Pad See Ew – Comforting and savory, with nicely charred noodles. Bangkok Style Pad Thai – Good spice, but definitely for those who can handle heat. Three Flavour Pad Thai – Still tasty, but just didn’t hit the same high notes as the others. We ordered everything at spice level 3, which is their standard “spicy” which very manageable and enjoyable. The Bangkok Style Pad Thai, however, was ordered at “Thai spicy” and definitely brought the heat. Great if you love spice, but I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who’s unsure as some in our group found it very hot. Overall, Khao San Road is a great spot for Thai food in Toronto. The walk-in-only policy might not work for everyone, but our experience was smooth and worth it. I’d definitely come back to try more of the menu.

Little India Restaurant, located at 255 Queen St W in Toronto, has been a beloved fixture since 1995. This family-owned establishment is renowned for its authentic Indian cuisine and welcoming atmosphere. The menu features a rich variety of dishes, including the famous Palak Paneer known for its creamy texture and perfect blend of spices. Little India celebrates the heritage of Indian vegetarian cuisine with an array of flavorful curries, breads, and rice dishes.
Can’t believe I’ve never reviewed this place - I've been coming here since university! The warm, hardworking family that runs it still delivers incredible service and consistently delicious food! It’s true comfort food - flavourful, well-prepared, and full of favourites. During the pandemic, they generously made meals for medical staff, showing just how much they are invested in their community and the care and responsibility that comes with it. A true Queen Street West staple and one of the best Indian restaurants in the city. Once you're a customer, you're one for life!

The place offers some great main course options, and I really enjoyed the food overall. It’s comforting, full of flavor, and truly satisfying. The breads were soft and fresh, and the portion sizes for the main course were just right. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and would definitely come back!

Location is fantastic, and the restaurant is clean and well-maintained with excellent service. The washrooms are several floors up, so if you have mobility issues, you may have difficulty accessing them. Food was average. Butter chicken was much too sweet, and with the combo I chose (3), it contained only four pieces of chicken. The lamb Vidaloo was very spicy, but a mango drink made it tolerable. I heard that the buffet was good, so I will try it next to confirm.

I’ve visited this restaurant twice in the past two weeks, and both times, I came in for the thali—such great value for money! The portions are generous, and the food is absolutely delicious. What really stood out to me was the service. The server was extremely kind and even accommodated a switch in my thali since I don’t eat palak paneer, which I honestly wasn’t expecting. That little gesture made the experience even better! If you’re in the area and craving Indian food, I highly recommend checking this place out. I’m already looking forward to trying their lunch specials next

I ordered dine in for one person which was costly. The butter chicken tasted too suited and I expected tangy. The pulao rice was great. The saag paneer was also a nice addition. The butter naan was just right. Overall, I would benefit from a lunch buffet at a fraction of the cost. Service was attentive and friendly.

4 drumsticks and 3 thighs do not make a full Tandoori chicken. If that is the serving size for this restaurant it should be mentioned in the menu. This is not enough even for two people. It came in a small packet. Taste was ok, not Indian spice or oil, slightly dry.

My partner and I were visiting from NY and had an INCREDIBLE meal here!! We love Indian food and this is some of the best we have ever had. Nestled in the vibrant west side of Chinatown, Toronto, Dumpling House Restaurant is a cozy haven for dumpling enthusiasts. This charming eatery specializes in both fried and steamed dumplings filled with pork, shrimp, or vegetables. What makes this spot truly special is the delightful sight of chefs skillfully crafting these delicious morsels right before your eyes through a quaint front window.
Pan fried dumplings are so delicious we shared 2 plates of them and it's so cool that you can see the making of the dumplings in the restaurant! The beef rice was just okay but I loved the noodles!

I saw a lot of really good reviews and wanted to try this place out. As much as I wanted to like this place, my experience wasn’t as positive. They take cash only and they have an ATM inside. It seems like a family operation rather than people hiring trained staff members with respect to the quality of service and attentiveness. They also don’t serve alcohol. The food was really mediocre at best. The green onion pancake was greasy and super bland. It tasted like the dough was basically a fried flour and water mixture with zero seasoning. It was also tough and not pleasant to eat. The steamed dumplings were okay flavour-wise, but they were thick and chewy. They wouldn’t be that different to compare with the quality of frozen dumplings you buy from the store. We tried some fried dumplings and those were fine. Maybe just not my thing and still prefer steamed dumplings. The fried rice was also fine. It’s a good amount of food for the price, but the quality of food is lacking in my opinion.

Loved the dumplings and other dishes here. We got the following: 3 choices of Steamed Dumplings (Pork, Chive & Shrimp, Pork & Sour Cabbage and Lamb Meat), 3 choices of Fried Dumplings (Pok, Beef and Pork & Shrimp), Hot & Sour Soup and Potato Noodle Salad. Everything tasted really good but my favorite was the fried dumplings.

Our recent visit to Dumpling House on Spadina was our first time back since the pandemic, and it brought back many memories! The food remains solid, with the same delicious flavors and authentic taste that Dumpling House has always been known for. We especially recommend the pork and chive pan-fried dumplings – they were perfectly crisp on the outside, juicy on the inside, and full of flavor. It’s definitely a must-try dish if you’re visiting. However, while the food quality hasn’t changed, the ambiance feels a bit tired. The interior could use a facelift, as it’s starting to show signs of wear and tear. A renovation to freshen up the décor and seating would not only improve the dining experience but likely draw in more customers. It would really enhance the restaurant’s appeal and help it stand out in the competitive Chinatown area. We went on a Saturday night and found it to be relatively quiet, which was surprising. Although it was nice to avoid the usual weekend crowd, we couldn’t help but feel that a more updated and inviting atmosphere could bring back some of the bustling energy that Dumpling House used to have. With a little investment in the décor and ambiance, the place could easily become a hotspot again. All in all, Dumpling House is still a good option for tasty, authentic dumplings, especially if you’re craving the classic pork and chive pan-fried dumplings. We enjoyed our meal, but we’re hoping to see some improvements in the ambiance on our next visit.

We ordered the fried dumplings, some with beef, others with lamb and others with pork (they are the ones I liked the most), all of them are very good. They are made at the moment and by hand 🥟 They have a very tasty chili and garlic sauce. Their service is quite fast and the place is quite clean They have a wide and varied menu. The noodles also look good although I did not try them. I highly recommend it, they are very good. Most of the dishes cost around 16 CAD

Buster's Sea Cove, located in St. Lawrence Market, has been a beloved lunch spot since its establishment in 1992. This bustling seafood joint offers a diverse menu featuring sandwiches, grilled dishes, soups, salads, and their renowned fish 'n' chips. The eatery is famous for its delectable clam chowder, coconut shrimp, and grilled octopus.
We ordered the grilled calamari with salad, and a cup of lobster bisque. The grilled calamari is fresh, I love the grilled taste of it! Also it’s big portion, enough for 2 people. The lobster bisque is perfect as well, definitely recommend. We would like to try the grilled/fried halibut next time👍🏻 everything on the menu looks good!!!

St. Lawrence Market is such a fun place to explore, with so many food options to try! We ended up eating there twice at the same spot — Seafood Buster’s Cove — because it was just that good. The seafood is super fresh and flavorful. The lobster roll is definitely a must-try, and the octopus was excellent as well. Everything tasted so clean and perfectly prepared. seating is an obstacle. better to wait for the spot then order your food. outdoor seating is also available next to busters sea cove.

I had very high expectations prior trying their lobster roll. Everyone told me how their lobster roll is to die for. I can only say I’ve had better. It is pricy, but the portion is huge! We were lucky that there was no line up when we got there. Note to self: debit card or cash only - they do not accept credit card. They do have ATM machines inside the St. Lawrence Market, so it isn’t a big deal.

There was quite a line around noon, but it’s totally understandable. The lobster roll was perfect. The big chunks of lobster is very tasty! The food came out quickly, though the fries were just average. Portions are decent, but the price is a bit high. As a tourist, it’s definitely worth trying once, but I’d think twice before coming back.

Picked up the lobster roll, fish & chips, and grilled calamari and everything was excellent. The lobster roll was fresh, buttery, and packed with meat. The fish was golden, crispy, and flaky inside, and the calamari was grilled to perfection—tender with great charred flavor. There’s no dine-in service—just grab and go—but the staff are quick and efficient. Even after the ride home, everything held up beautifully. If you’re after solid seafood without the fuss, this place delivers. Definitely coming back. Aug 31 - had another great visit and tried the grilled salmon, left satisfied.

Recentally i visited this store to try crab fries and crab salad. The food was so delicious. And a big apprication to Eduina who took the order with very patient and suggesting their popular food. She make good interaction with the customer and making them feel so excited to try their food.
Navaz A — Google review
Probably, the best fried calamari I have ever had. The squid was tender and juicy and still crispy on the outside. It even tasted better when I paired it with the basmati rice which I was really in awe. Nothing really in there but it the rice was so delicious. I found the sauce in the lobster roll overpowering the lobster but I loved the buttered bread. The onion rings were crunchy. No wonder there is always a long line. Next time I will try the other menu items. The Pho bo is very tempting. The space inside the market is tight but it there are a lot of spaces outside.
Charlotte — Google review
Dropped by St Lawrence Market around 9.30am and decided to try the lobster roll at Buster’s Sea Cove. The service was quick and friendly; they don’t accept credit card but do accept debit cards and cash. The food was ready in less than 10 minutes and there is a small seating area just opposite the store - but as it’s at the Market there is some great seating outside in the current October sunshine. I don’t have a bench mark to compare against but I felt the lobster roll was very tasty- generously filled with lobster and not overly coated in the sauce. A big portion of fries included. The cost with taxes was 25.99cad.

Nestled in the heart of Toronto's Chinatown, Mother's Dumplings has been delighting diners since 2005 with its authentic Northern Chinese cuisine and handmade dumplings crafted from cherished family recipes. This charming eatery has evolved from a small basement kitchen to a spacious dining area, where an open kitchen produces an impressive 2,000 dumplings daily. The menu is diverse, catering to various cravings and dietary needs with options like pork and bok choy or shrimp and egg.
Best experience here. Don’t usually like Chinese food but the flavours were wonderful and our server Paul was amazing. Went above and beyond. So kind and polite. I wanted to keep a beer can as I collect them so he went and got an empty one in the back for me. So humble and attentive. All the servers were amazing.

FOOD: the dumplings are so freaking good. I ordered steamed bao, pan fried dumpling and some other kinds, they are all good. I wanted to try more but I was already so full. It's also super affordable. Dumplings are fresh made to order, you can see how they make it from scratch through a big glass window. SERVICE: You gonna expect chinese level customer service, it's not gonna be too too friendly but it's decent service. VIBE: I love that I can watch people making dumplings through the window when I eat. The place is not dirty and it feels cozy.

Had a great first experience!!! Food felt homemade, so fresh, great flavour. Prices were also a plus point, very reasonable for the level of quality. Service was friendly and knowledgeable. Loved it all would definitely go back! We tried: pancake, steamed/fried dumplings, dumpling soup.

Friend recommended this place after she said she saw it in the Michelin guide of recommended spots in dt Toronto. We ordered a few different items to try and felt it was just alright. Portion sizes are good and pricing isn't bad. Good spot to get your dumpling fix, and they also have other dishes that you can find at Chinese restaurants like rice and noodles, but we didn't try them.

The hot and sour soup hit the spot! The pork dumplings are absolutely delicious, very juicy and full of flavour. Very friendly helpful staff! The sesame red bean balls are so good I should have ordered more. Thank you!

Top quality of Dumplings? Definitely not. But they are still a great, above-average option. The location is a little out of the way from Chinatown, and a bit quiet. The Chinese-inspired decor is quite nice.

As dumpling lovers, we both vote this place knows how to make the best dumplings. The dough is a little stretchy which is what i love. It is able to hold a big filling. The filling is dripping juice too. It is not easy to achieve that, trust me. Dumpling are made live. The only suggestion is they could made the tables cleaner

Banjara Indian Restaurant is a delightful haven for lovers of North and South Indian cuisine, nestled in the vibrant streets of Toronto. With locations on Bloor Street West and Eglinton Avenue East, this eatery has been captivating taste buds since 2003. The moment you stroll by, the enticing aromas wafting from its kitchen will beckon you to indulge in their mouthwatering offerings.
I love this place. I went to order a dozen delicious samosas yesterday because I heard rave reviews. They were so delicious & fresh. The staff were so nice and courteous. They gave me an amazing mango lassi while I waited for my order. I'm definitely coming back here to try other items on the menu. The sauces that come with the samosas were so yummy too. The samosas were devoured so quickly I didn't get a photo sorry 🙏.

Pathetic, the chef needs to go to school and learn the basics of Indian food. WHO PUTS PEPPERS IN ROGANJOSH!!!!! I know the restaurant has great reviews but my lamb Rogan Josh was full of multicoloured peppers, was not red in colour with Rogan and it was chewy as if the dish was heated several times. At best the dish was watered down karahi.

On Mother’s Day, May 11, 2025, I took my mom here for lunch. It was our first time here and I wasn’t sure how we hadn’t tried it as yet because this is literally the best Indian restaurant I have ever been to in Toronto! And blogTO was not kidding when they actually said that. The food was absolutley delicious! I had butter chicken and naan and I enjoyed every bite of them. My mom and I were very happy with our experience, and she said that this was the best Mother’s Day ever. We will certainly be back!

I adore this Indian restaurant! I always go here with my mom in the summer and we've definitely visited more than once... it's too good to resist! We ordered the chicken korma, shahi shrimp, cheese naan, and the mango shakes. Everything was delicious! The portion sizes are great and we had lots of leftovers to take home. I have a really low spice tolerance, so we requested the food to be mild and it was *actually* mild! A lot of Indian restaurants don't follow this request completely and I often can't fully enjoy the meal due to the spice. The servers are also very kind and the atmosphere is peaceful. My mom and I both enjoyed the food and this is my FAVOURITE Indian restaurant in Toronto :)

Hokkaido Ramen Santouka is a vibrant Japanese noodle restaurant chain known for its specialty in ramen with pork bone broth. The Downtown Core locations offer classic flavors like shio, shoyu, and miso ramen, but the house specialty, Toroniku Ramen, is highly recommended. This dish features melt-in-your-mouth pork jowl served on the side. Despite potential long waits during busy times, the service is fast and accommodating.
Best ramen broth I have ever tasted. It was just the right amount of salt and umami. The veggie apps were also very delicious, the piri bamboo dish was a bit too spicy but not really an issue when I washed it down with a glass of yuzu lime sake. I also like that their menu offered smaller rice bowl options. I ordered the ikura bowl and it wasn’t enough to stuff me but just enough for a 10pm dinner before bed time. Staff were friendly and service was very efficient. We all got our food around the same time. We finished off with skewers of dango and it was made fresh, the dangos were very chewy and the side of azuki paste added a subtle sweetness to it. Can’t wait to come back again for the ramen!

Sorry Raijin, I just found my new no.1 Kimchi takoyaki was great, Kara miso ramen was fabulous give me 14 of them right now. Partner had the shio ramen, very mild taste, but nice creamy, good amount of oil texture

Another great spot for ramen in Toronto. The ramen is great and the service was also very good. Good for those looking for a tasty ramen and short on time. I ordered the shio ramen since I felt like a lighter soup on this day. The soup was light and creamy but very flavourful. Came with bamboo shoots, wood ear mushrooms, green onions, a slice of Naruto fish cake, pork cha shu, and one small red pickled plum. Perfect for lunch. The noodles were done just right and as you can see in one of the photos two types of peppers on the table. White pepper and shichimi pepper. One thing to note is the noodles served here are egg noodles which is not what most places serve. This location has been around for many years and was listed in the Michelin Guide back in 2017. Worth a visit when you are in the area which is just a short walk from the Eaton Centre.
Bob K — Google review
I’ve heard a lot about this place over the years and many people have told me that it’s their favourite place for ramen, so I decided to come take a visit for lunch. I’ve heard that their original (and perhaps the most popular) dish is the Tokusen Toroniku Ramen, which is ramen and pork jowl, but I was in the mood for some chilled tsukemen (soy sauce flavour). I didn’t like this dish. Firstly, there was so much MSG in the soup that I ended up drinking 4 glasses of water. Secondly, the pork smell was bad rather than aromatic; it made me glad that I didn’t order the pork jowl ramen. There also weren’t many meat / fat pieces in the soup, and the bowl was quite pricey. The cold ramen also made the dipping soup cold very quickly. Perhaps this issue is something rather recent, because the many of reviews I read on Google around the same month I went had the same complaints as me. Either way, I hope they improve.

Great service and yummy ramen! Came here with my family, I got the shoyu ramen and it was very tasty, the servers were very nice and the food arrived very quickly too! The shoyu had a nice chewy noodle taste and soup was pretty good. One thing I recommend is adding char siu pork which would’ve made the perfect dish. Seating is somewhat limited so it is recommend to reserve a spot.

Asian Legend is a Chinese restaurant in Toronto that specialises in Northern Chinese dim sum and stir-fry. The modern space is bustling with people and the flavors and smells of the food transport you to China. The dim sum is served in generous portions and the soup-filled dumplings are what make this restaurant stand out.
Asian Legend on Dundas in Chinatown delivers Northern Chinese flavors with precision and consistency. Their steamed soup-filled dumplings (crab & pork) are a standout — delicate wrappers encasing a burst of savory broth and finely seasoned filling that speaks to time-honored technique . The pan-fried chicken potstickers add a pleasant crunch and juicy interior, striking a balance that’s tough to master . I also enjoyed the Kung Pao Shrimp, where shrimp are fresh and stir-fried to a perfect sheen, coated in a sweet-spicy sauce . The extensive menu reflects their commitment to health — less oil, less salt — but the flavors stay bold . The space blends modern style with nostalgic Chinese motifs, creating a comfortable setting for both casual meals and family gatherings . Service is cheerful and prompt, and portion sizes offer real value — a full experience without breaking the bank. If you appreciate well-executed Northern Chinese cuisine — from dumplings to stir-fry — Asian Legend is a reliable and satisfying go-to in Toronto’s Chinatown.

Soup dumplings are good and hot but are not as souped up compared to the one in Leslie + Finch location (closes permanently Sept 30). You can see in the picture that it is a bit shriveled up The smoked bbq duck was great. Definitely recommend rice or noodles to go with it as it's salty. The price of these items are too expensive nowadays sadly. $13.99 for 6 crab meat soup dumplings is not it. The waiter is super nice and merged and additional table to give us more eating space
J C — Google review
I went there on Sat, May 31st, 2025, around 2pm. It's not crowded. The service was great. The jelly fish salad was a little too salty for me.
Thanyarat P — Google review
The atmosphere was nice and calm. It is a good place for family/groups to gather together. The food was 8.5/10. The portion is really big, especially the tofu blended with crab meat or the mala tofu is you like spicy dish. Soup dumplings dimsum are the highlight of our dinner. It was super juicy, like it is called, and really taste. The mango pudding is also a very good dessert to wrap up the meal. There's only the House Special Crispy Chicken that actually not match our vibe because it was quite dry, salty and not as crunchy as I expected. A little extra note is that, maybe it didn't happen with all customers, but I found a piece of hair in my sauce platter (trying to get thee server's attention but I think they're too busy cuz it's a Friday night and surrounded us are big family groups) which affected my experience here just a little bit. But other than that, we're having a great dinner and a great time here!

Breakfast restaurant
Maha's Brunch is a cozy spot known for its original Egyptian brunch offerings and warm atmosphere. The restaurant, located in Toronto's East side, offers a distinctive menu of Egyptian classics such as ful with sunny-side-up eggs and basturma scramble made with fenugreek-cured Egyptian beef slivers. The place exudes a homey feel with its unpretentious space filled with warm woods, pharaoh mural, and potted plants.
If you're looking for an unforgettable brunch experience with a touch of Egypt, Maha’s is where you need to be. Nestled in Greenwood Avenue, this Michelin-recommended gem doesn’t disappoint. Though we waited an hour due to the long weekend rush, every minute was worth it. We kicked things off with a massive portion of Feteer Meshaltet- a traditional Egyptian pastry that could feed a small army. Perfectly flaky and indulgent, it’s a must-try, but maybe share it with a few more people if you’re in a smaller group. For mains, Maha’s Mind-Blowing Chicken lives up to its name- tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor, while the Bastruma Scramble brought a delightful twist to the classic scrambled eggs, thanks to the rich, spiced cured beef. We rounded things off with the Award-Winning Lentil Soup, which was a comforting, aromatic bowl of perfection. The drinks were just as impressive- Turkish coffee with deep, bold flavors, and a honey cardamom latte that blended warmth with a sweet, aromatic kick. Yes, it’s a bit of a wait, but with the combination of impeccable food and that unmistakable Egyptian charm, it’s an experience worth savoring. Highly recommend for those who crave a taste of Cairo with a modern twist.

Excellent food! Everything was delicious and the staff were super friendly. They are very organized as it seems pretty standard for there to be at least a 15 - 30 minute wait. the falafel egg was amazing. Huge portions too so really good bang for your buck. Highly recommend and will be back!

We went on a Friday around 1 PM and waited about 15 minutes, but the line got long quickly so expect up to 30–60 mins during busy times. It’s a small, cozy spot, though seating is a bit tight. I had the falafel with eggs and it was amazing! Home fries were perfect too. My friend had the grilled cheese with lentil soup and soup was great, sandwich a bit sweet from the date. Her cardamom latte was lovely; my mint tea was just okay. Only thing i didn’t like is the pita that came with the baba ghanoush was cold and hard to bite. Otherwise, great food, friendly service, and warm vibes.
ERVA — Google review
We visited this brunch place based on good reviews and we're not disappointed. The food we ordered was very good despite of ourselves not being that accustomed to the taste of Egyptian style of food. We just asked the server about what we should order and went as per his advice. As said earlier, we were not only satisfied, but resolved to visit again. At peak times, there may be waiting so it is better to either book or visit at slack. About ambience, it is a compact, bright and inviting place. Seating is a mix of traditional vibe with comfortable setting, lively with a decor that makes you feel welcomed. There were noisy groups around but this is something that the restaurant can't do much about it. Cleanliness is ok. Service is very good, thumbs up to staff. Highly recommend.

Maha’s Brunch on Gerard Street is such a special spot. I ordered a hot bowl of Noah’s pudding and it was absolutely spectacular—comforting, flavorful, and exactly what you want on a crisp fall morning. It truly felt like a warm hug in a bowl. The space itself is eclectic and welcoming, full of charm and character, which made the whole experience even better. I really enjoyed my breakfast here and can’t wait to return to try more of the menu. A true gem in the neighborhood!
Sandra G — Google review
This Egyptian brunch spot is the best in town and feels just like home. The food is rich with authentic flavors that taste lovingly prepared and fresh, making every bite comforting and satisfying. The menu offers a beautiful balance of traditional dishes that celebrate the heart of Egyptian cuisine without being overwhelming. Combined with the warm, inviting atmosphere and friendly staff, it’s the perfect place to relax and enjoy a genuinely memorable meal. You’ll leave feeling nourished both in body and spirit.

Falafel with egg is sooo good. Really enjoyed the lentil soup as well. The service is always so warm, and the space is beautiful. The cardamom latte wasn't as cardamom forward as we would have liked but that is the only note :) otherwise so so yummy.

This Egyptian brunch spot sits just east of Toronto’s core and has definitely earned its reputation — the lines are no joke. We waited about an hour, so I’d recommend going on a warmer day when standing outside feels a little less brutal. Every dish we tried was great and I have to give a special shoutout to the Turkish coffee which was rich and bold. It’s not easy to find one in the city so was happy to find it here. My friend also enjoyed the cardamom latte a lot.

Highly recommend the PICKLED MUSTARD GREEN NOODLE SOUP. Perfect comfortable food. After the trip, this bowl of noodle soup made me almost forget the tiredness of the traffic. The soup filled dumplings is great. Paired with the red vinegar provided, it is a taste experience. The crystal pork belly is also good, but it is more suitable to be paired with rice. Looking forward to trying it next time.

Located in the lower level of the unit but there is a big sign above so you cant miss it. Staff was friendly and attentive. Food was very good. The special fried rice was exceptional and came in a big sharing plate. We thought there would be leftover but with 2 teenage boys no chance! A bit pricey as not much under 10 dollars but will visit again.

Went to Lee Chen Asian Bistro for a quick brunch before going to the Aquarium. Service was excellent and fast. I also liked that they open early. We ordered the xiao long bao (soup-filled dumplings), steamed vegetable dumplings, and soy milk -- all did not disappoint! We also loved the dip that came with the vegetable dumplings -- I want to know where I could get them or how to recreate them! 😅 Overall, highrly recommended!
Baloney X — Google review
I went here recently with my family for an early lunch 11:45 a.m. Since they open at 11:15 a.m. it was very empty and there was an odd smell of cleaning solution. I guess they just wiped things down and cleaned up but the smell was kind of unpleasant and strong for a restaurant. I would suggest maybe doing it the night before and not before guests will be arriving shortly after. Anyways we ordered shanghai fried noodles (very good and I recommend), soup dumplings (basic), kung pao chicken (not good and small portion), sauteed pea shoots (good serving and pretty good) and steamed rice (very small portion for $3). Overall the food is okay but below average for my standard of Chinese food (maybe it is a bit higher because I am used to Scarborough Chinese restaurants). Portions for veggie dish seem good but for everything else is a but small. Bill was $90 with tax for 4 adults and everyone was still a little hungry. I wouldn't come here again. Chinese food from a food court is probably better and cheaper and I only came here cause my family was looking a sit down. Service is polite and attentive and tries their best.

Beautiful setting and atmosphere. Food was average in taste despite the relatively generous portion sizes. The kung pao fish is worth a try, the dim sum, shrimp fried rice and egg noodles not so much.

We were pleasantly surprised by this dim sum place! The interior was much larger and nicer than we expected from the outside—clean, modern, and inviting. We started with the Xiao Long Bao (01 dim sum) and scallion pancake. Both were delicious—my whole family enjoyed them. The Xiao Long Bao was full of flavor, and you could really taste each ingredient. The scallion pancake came already sliced, which was super convenient, and it had the perfect crispiness. The black bean chicken was another standout. The chicken was tender, and the peppers and onions were cooked just right—savory and slightly sweet. Highly recommend pairing it with white rice. Later, we added the chicken and shrimp dim sum, which was delicately wrapped and had a light, balanced flavor. What really made our visit exceptional was the service. Gavin, our server, was incredibly attentive and thoughtful, especially toward my little one who was a bit cranky from an early morning. He even offered him a cookie as encouragement to finish his last dim sum piece—such a kind and personal touch. Overall, a quality experience with great food, at a reasonable price, and even better service.

Second time: Steak & Eggs and a treat of rugelach. A first for me and they are seriously good for a not so sweet dessert. First time: Wonderful food & service. Plenty of seating in a clean Deli that offers breakfasts starting at 8:30 AM. I had the Eggs Benedict with Cornbeef & latkes. It included sour cream. The coffee is easy to take which helps mightily first thing in the morning. Looking forward to their other offerings.

Good food served with classic no frills new york city style service. I found the bread to be really soft and delicious, and the salmon bagel platter was pretty good too. The ambience is tasteful, quiet except for a nice radio channel faintly playing in the background. I also enjoyed trying the wide selection of mustards with the bagel. The only reason I give 4 stars is I found it to be a bit expensive for the food that served, so the value for money is not the best. I would've given 5 stars if the platter was $3 cheaper.

the sandwich was pretty good, but not anything spectacular. i paid $23 for the smoked meat combo which comes with one sandwich and this measly serving of fries. the fries were just okay, but i thought it was strange how they don’t fill up the container all the way. it was half full when i opened the bag up. also it seemed really chaotic in there while i was waiting for my sandwich. overall, the taste was good but for $23 i was not satisfied or full.

Dined in here about 5 years ago and it was not impressive at that time, thought it was just a fast served food joint Returned to give it another shot since egg salad sandwich is becoming a bit difficult to find. Ended up our brunch dining experience was great, besides the guy who sit us down was cold and has no facial expressions, the waitress with a strong European accent who took over was a sweet lady. Food was great, the egg salad sandwich was just as expected, omelette was delish as well as the soup of the day (lentils), all freshly made. They also served good coffee. Will see this place our regular go-to restaurant from now on.

Ny deli Canadian style. We had our first poutine here as well as NY style cornbeef sandwich. A cheaper and more casual find in this area. Just what we were looking for.

This is one of the best breakfast places in the city IMHO, and great for a deli food lunch. The menu is a disaster and hard to navigate, but the food and service are worth working through it. I have been coming here for a decade and the quality has not slipped at all, it is a long time favourite and very solid.

Had breakfast for lunch and my co-diner had a wrap. Both were delicious. Great service. Looking forward to going back. Large seating area. Fresh pressed juice was great too. Large menu, lots of the usual deli options. High Recommended. The most affordable place in the area!

Mi Mi is a long-standing, family-owned Vietnamese restaurant in Toronto that has been serving authentic cuisine for over 20 years. The eatery offers a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere where patrons can enjoy a variety of dishes, including pho, noodle dishes, barbecued meats, and seafood.
Actually insanely delicious. The highlight was the vermicelli bowl with grilled beef, pork sausage, and spring rolls. The meat was so good. Also the pho (rare beef pho) was sooo good. Well above average in Toronto, I’d say. The vibes are great and they’re super nice. Lots of space to sit. Food is really fast.

Perfect spot for fresh and flavourful Vietnamese cuisine. Small on the restaurant size but big on the taste. Many dishes to choose from, bring cash only, and be prepared to wait or order out. When in the neighborhood, make sure to check it out!

I brought my 2 kiss in for dinner and was greeted with the warmest welcome. I ordered a pho, and without me asking they had brought kids wares out along with scissors for cutting the noodles. 😭 The food was great, generous portions, very quick and friendly service. Would recommend this spot.
Andrew C — Google review
I love this restaurant. It’s family owned and operated. Every dish is packed with flavour and absolutely scrumptious, but my go-to order is always the BBQ Beef Vermicelli. At its core, this dish is a perfect balance of elements: smoky, marinated barbecue beef; tender vermicelli noodles; fresh herbs; and a sweet-salty-tangy sauce that ties everything together. The beef is really what makes it so special—thinly sliced, marbled with just the right amount of fat, and cooked flawlessly. Highly recommend!
Jordana R — Google review
It is a bit overpriced for the portion of the food we got. We ordered two large size pho and two rice. Pho: The soup has a strong taste of MSG. The meat and noodle is ok. Rice: The grill chicken is very good, as well as the sausage. We also ordered beef and pork on rice. Both beef and pork are very dry. Rice is not enough and a bit dry as well. In genera, the service is very good but I think it has some room for improvement on the soup base.

Updated: I've been coming back almost every two weeks, and I have to say — their banh mi is so good! Honestly, it's better than a lot of places I've tried. The Vietnamese iced coffee is also super refreshing, especially during the summer. I can't recommend this place highly enough! We went for lunch and the owner suggested two popular dishes and we ordered her suggestions. Oh man the food was really good and the service was excellent. Very recommended Vietnamese restaurant in the neighborhood. We will be back for sure.

Cash only - I tried the anchovy noodle soup, it was delicious but I actually thought it would of had a stronger fish flavour.

Mimi is an absolute gem! The food is fresh, flavourful, and beautifully prepared. The spring rolls are crispy and addictive, the pho broth is rich and comforting, and the do-it-yourself platter is both fun and delicious. Service is warm and welcoming, staff make you feel like family the moment you walk in. The space is cozy and inviting, perfect for a casual meal or a night out with friends. Definitely one of the best Vietnamese restaurants in Toronto. Highly recommend to anyone craving authentic, mouth-watering dishes. 100% recommended.

If you're on the hunt for a delightful culinary experience without breaking the bank, look no further than Juicy Dumpling. Nestled in the vibrant heart of Chinatown, this compact eatery specializes in Shanghai-style dumplings and wonton soups that are sure to tantalize your taste buds. Known for their mouthwatering xiaolongbaos (soup dumplings), Juicy Dumpling has quickly become a beloved destination for both locals and visitors alike.
MUST TRY!!!! We came to visit Toronto and this is one of the spots to try!!! Dumplings are fresh and made quick. You order off the kiosk in the front and they call your number. Wait time was all of 5 mins. Everything tasted great! Pork had great flavor. Definitely recommend to anyone visiting Chinatown or Toronto.
Alex U — Google review
Definitely not a “must try” spot. These budget friendly dumplings were simply okay. I’d rather spend a little more elsewhere for better dumplings.
Anh P — Google review
The best dumplings we’ve ever had!! They’re perfectly flavourful and melt in your mouth, everything is seasoned to perfection and fried for the most elite crispy edges. Can’t believe how affordable they are and service is super nice and quick. Definitely a must in the Toronto food scene. Looking forward to our next visit!
Vivian I — Google review
Surprisingly the dumplings were good! I expected lukewarm food because the price was so low, but was pleasantly surprised by the warm, juicy soup-filled pork dumplings. The one thing I wouldn't order again is the chicken wings. Not very crunchy and could use more flavour.
Lisa M — Google review
This was incredible. We got the steamed pork soup dumplings and the pan fried pork soup dumplings and they were both so tasty. Great price. Service was fast and it was nice to have a seat to eat. Definitely recommend Juicy Dumpling!
Kara L — Google review
The Dumplings and Buns at Juicy Dumpling were good. We had the Steamed Mini Soup Dumplings (Pork), Pan Fried Juicy Buns (Pork), Pan Fried Shumai (Pork and Onion), BBQ Pork Steamed Bun, and Pan Fried Green Onion Pancakes. The Steamed Mini Soup Dumplings (Pork), Pan Fried Juicy Buns (Pork), Pan Fried Shumai (Pork and Onion), and BBQ Pork Steamed Bun were flavourful and filling. Our favourites were the Steamed Mini Soup Dumplings (Pork) and Pan Fried Juicy Buns (Pork). The Pan Fried Green Onion Pancakes were okay. It would have been good to have a bit more green onion in the pancake.
Andrew L — Google review
I gave the food a 5, but I really need to try more, although what I did try was easy to eat. I gave the service a 5 because they were super fast in delivering the dish, and the atmosphere a 4 because it's so small. It's like you have to eat in 5 minutes and leave quickly because there are more people waiting.

Ramen restaurant
Japanese restaurant
Konjiki Ramen is a renowned spot in Toronto, known for its exceptional pork bone ramen soup and house-made noodles. The menu features innovative dishes like Clam Potage Tsukemen, Mild Clam Broth Pork Ramen, and Lobster Ramen, incorporating unique ingredients such as Black Truffles and Porcini Mushroom.
Came here to have a nice meal, and it completely exceeded my expectations. While it was all at a hefty price, it left an amazing impression and I was greatly pleased. I ordered the Signature Intense Clam Shoyu Ramen, and it was packed with flavour. The intensity did not become too much even at the last bite, and every single bite was as enjoyable as the first. We added an egg on top for both of our ramen, and it was jammy and just-right. I had a try with the Original Shoyu Tonkotsu Ramen too, and its aroma is unforgettable. We also ordered Braised Pork Belly and Chicken Karaage on the side, and those were the best side dishes I’ve ever ordered. The Chicken Karaage was thin and crispy, and the meat was so juicy and tender. It was perfect when dipped with wasabi and added with a pinch of lemon juice. It was freshly deep fried, and done right. The Braised Pork Belly was mind/blowing as well; I’d never liked pork belly from any other place but this was a different story on its own. Overall, the dishes were immaculate. The service from the waitresses were also amazing, they were really nice and polite to us! The atmosphere was really lively so be sure to get there early to secure your seats. I would 100% recommend this place to go on for a date or something, given that you have a slightly larger budget for the day.
Erilw — Google review
I've visited this place many times but unfortunately, it hasn't lived up to what it used to be. Although the ramen is pretty decent, I think the lobster ramen and the intense shoyu ramen became less rich in flavor. It's a shame because they differentiate the intense shoyu and mild shio, but it's no longer intense. I can't say for certain about other ramen dishes, but the lobster ramen got smaller in size and more expennsive as well. The upside is that they made the noodles thicker, but because the soup is not as rich, it thicker noodles don't pick up the broth as well. And unfortunately, the broth was also not that hot. The service is still good though.
Takeshi K — Google review
Super friendly staff and both the clam broth and Tonkotsu broth ramen were great. The matcha soft serve is to die for. The ube cheesecake was great too.
E K — Google review
Orderes their intense shoyu clam broth and it is intense...strong clam and prawn flavor. If unlike me, you prefer less intense broth you should try the mild shio version. The noodle has a good texture better than your run of the mill ramen shops. Overall it's a nice ramen that I would go back for in Yonge...and maybe try their mild shio version.
Patrick L — Google review
The best ramen in North York. The tonkotsu broth is extremely rich and flavorful, my favorite is the smoky one and my wife loves the spicy red one. Lots of toppings, good serving size, and they also have the super sized version. Highly recommend.
Bruno G — Google review
The lobster ramen was absolutely delicious! It came with a whole, shelled lobster that was large, fresh, and firm. The broth had a rich seafood flavor, and the addition of arugula added a nice depth to the overall taste. Everything was perfectly balanced. Although it’s slightly on the pricey side, it’s definitely worth it. Their original shoyu ramen is also a great value — the broth is on the richer side, very satisfying, and relatively cheap. Even the desserts were high quality. Highly recommended! (Their donburi are mid so you can skip them)
Su J — Google review
If you’re a ramen lover (or just a fan of amazing Japanese food), you need to check out this spot—it’s seriously next level! Authentic Japanese vibes, cozy atmosphere, and the food? Absolutely fantastic. The ramen is rich, flavorful, and comforting in all the right ways. But what really sets this place apart are their limited edition items—yes, I’m talking wagyu beef ramen and lobster gyoza. Totally mind-blowing. And don’t even get me started on the dessert selection. It’s massive—and every single item is a showstopper. From traditional Japanese sweets to modern twists, there’s something for every sweet tooth. This place is a total gem. Whether you’re here for a comforting bowl of ramen or an unforgettable dessert experience, you won’t leave disappointed. 100/10 recommend!

The service was extremely slow, and we had to wait 25 minutes to receive two ramen orders: wagyu and shoyu. The taste of the ramen was mediocre, and the server forgot to bring our appetizer, deep-fried king mushrooms.

Hanoi 3 Seasons is a North Vietnamese restaurant with two locations in Canada, one in Leslieville and the other in East Chinatown. The decor of the restaurants reflects the ambiance of Hanoi, impressing visitors with its authenticity. The menu offers classic Northern Vietnamese dishes made with high-quality ingredients. Customers have praised the attentive and enthusiastic staff who provide exceptional service. The cozy yet sophisticated interior and spacious seating make for a comfortable dining experience.
I never thought I could find a pure Vietnamese restaurant with a Northern style like this in Canada. Strongly impressed by the way they decorate and furnish. I've been to Hanoi once and never thought I would see that image in this place. The food is 10/10, I can feel how they cherish and take care of each ingredient, even the dishes, bowls they imported from Vietnam (according to what they say). The shop owner was extremely enthusiastic and cheerful, I was treated kindly like a family member. I was even more impressed when I went down to the washroom, because the LGBT-friendly decorated made me feel very warm. If you are truly a lover of food and cozy luxury restaurants, you definitely have to try it once.

Love the fresh rolls with pork sausage, they are really really good! My pho special tastes spicer than I thought, which is kinda interesting! The red-lighted theme in the restaurant is a bit too dim but the lanterns above are really cute

Favorite Viet resto in the city, I love the room and the back patio.. like I've transported back in time to indo China. Food's terrific as well. Must try the shrimp and lotus root salad when you're here... so fresh! #18 chicken pho is always my go-to.
Eddie T — Google review
I have ordered delivery form this place twice and both times have been very disappointed. Tonight I ordered the lemongrass chicken that comes with rice, tofu, vegetables and a spring roll. It had very little flavour, my spring roll was missing, no tofu and their idea of “vegetables” is a bunch of bean sprouts. I love Vietnamese food but I just can’t bring myself to order here again. Maybe it’s better in person. Last time I ordered the pork and it was so oily and lacking flavour.
Sydney S — Google review
I let my Vietnamese friend do all the ordering. We started with the Nom Ngo Sen (fresh shrimps and lotus root salad) $9.75. It was so fresh and tasty. Then came the Cha Gio Cha Muc (spring roll and calamari patties) $10.75. The rolls were massive and the patties savory. We just ate enough to taste so we wouldn’t be full for our main course. We shared the Cha Ca (Hanoi style grouper with dill and shrimp paste served with vermicelli and salad) $19. The fish was tender with the dill and salad adding freshness and more layers of flavor. The one criticism we had was the dipping sauce for the spring rolls, calamari patties and grouper. No matter how much we added or dipped we could not taste it. It was almost like water. We ended up dipping in the leftover dressing from our salad. At the end our server explained the dipping sauce was only vinegar and water with no fish sauce for the non Vietnamese customers. She told us we could have requested it. I wish she had told us before we ate all our food! Despite that we really enjoyed the food. We came here on a weekday for an early dinner. We were the only ones dining inside and sat by the window catching glimpses of life passing by on Queen Street. We rode our bikes but there is street parking available.
Feisty B — Google review
Westernized Vietnamese food catering to the demographic of the area. I don't recommend eating here unless your palette is atune to only bland food. Will not be coming back. Overall, the food was lack luster and unauthentic which took us by surprise since the decor of the space leans very proud of the Vietnamese culture (minus some odd paintings). We ordered - The Jackfruit Smoothie. The colour of the smoothie was completely white indicating the jackfruit used is frozen and young. That attributes to the bland taste. I don't recommend this drink. - The Vietnamese Iced Coffee. A generous portion of coffee and condensed milk! Too much for one sitting. I'd recommend getting it to go. - Number 23 Ga Nuong Xa Sua Dua (Chicken with Lemongrass and Coconut Milk) with Vermincelli. Large portion of chicken, veggies and noodles. Chicken thighs used were quite fatty. The dish came with a side of fish sauce, which tasted like water. I don't recommend this dish. - A side of pho broth. Again, a VERY generous portion. I'm unsure what the vision is for their pho broth. It tasted over boiled, no beef flavour, and flat. I noticed pieces of floating ginger, shrimp shell and dill. I don't recommend this. - Number 8 Bun Canh Tom Hanoi (Spicy Shrimp with Lemongrass and Tamarind). It tastes like they used the same broth as the side of pho broth ordered except with MUCH MORE dill. The mussels were not cleaned properly aka SANDY! The shrimp was overcooked. I don't recommend this dish. When paying, I noticed the cook microwaving spring rolls and then putting them on a plate. I doubt they were freshly made. Service: We sat ourselves and it took the one server 5 minutes to notice we sat down and bring menus. There was 1 other table and someone waiting for a pick up order - not busy. The server was nice while taking our order. We did notice she told another table that the food is Westernized and to brace themselves. I'm sure that table was expecting more authentic flavours like us. Atmosphere: The space was decorated nicely. The bathroom was clean and not wet like other basement bathrooms. Price $60 for 2 people including tax and tip. Not worth it.
Julie L — Google review
Great vibes, love the decor! Food is really good, I like the shorter menu, it's much easier to decide. Only issue was there was only one server on a Friday night and she was clearly run thin.
Jaclyn M — Google review
We sat in the back patio. Inside also had really great sitting. Their food was Hanoi style so menu/flavour is slightly different from other pho places. Loved the freshness/quality/home-madeness of the food. You can see their busy kitchen and the cleanliness of it. Their avocado smoothie was so yum, i ordered two of it.

Tao Northern Chinese Cuisine is an upscale restaurant offering a stylish and tranquil dining experience. The place is known for its great service and high-quality, authentic Chinese dishes that have managed to avoid being 'Americanized.' It's a favorite spot for lunch, especially for those looking for non-Americanized Chinese food. The restaurant offers a variety of delicious dishes, including Mapo Tofu and small soup-filled buns (Guantang Bao).
Outstanding experience! Both the food and service were exceptional! We were served by a young gentleman named Son this evening. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was super friendly and attentive. The decor of this restaurant was beautifully done and the restaurant was clean, especially the washrooms. This restaurant is well run with employees that genuinely care. Highly recommended. Bonus that the restaurant ask has their own parking lot. We will be back!

We’d been curious about this restaurant for a while, so we finally decided to give it a try. It seems to cater more to locals, and overall, the experience was mediocre. Our favorite dishes were the lettuce wraps with chicken and the crispy beef—both well-priced and enjoyable. The garlic shrimp and fried rice were okay; the shrimp had a nice garlic flavor but was a bit under-seasoned, so I had to ask for some salt. On a positive note, the staff were friendly and welcoming.

We just ordered ginger scallion chicken and black bean beef from this restaurant, and honestly, it was awful. They barely put any protein—just a bunch of veggies. There was hardly enough for me and my fiancé. Definitely never ordering from here again. Plus, they didn’t even mention that they add green peppers on the skip app, and the amount they put on each plate is ridiculous. Just a heads-up, guys!
Carlos B — Google review
We went at lunch and had Pho and bun pork. Wished there was more protein in my large pho but flavour was tasty. The Bun wasn’t overly sweet marinated which I prefer nor was the sauce that was served with it. The service was friendly. Didn’t have napkins on the table had to ask for them but not really a big deal. We enjoyed our meal and would totally return again!

Happy to have Pho Lady as a neighborhood option for Vietnamese food. The pho and bun were both good and fair portion sizes. The menu also includes a few non-Vietnamese items (like dim sum, pad Thai and Canadian Chinese food). Limited seating (maybe 12-15 tables) so might want to arrive early or call to reserve a seat if going on a Friday or Saturday night - there was a long wait for tables when we left around 6:30pm! Apparently the restaurant is owned by the same folks who run Jing Chinese on Bayview and Madame Saigon on Yonge Street but I have not verified personally.

ginormous delicious portions for main courses, appetizers were a little small and should be emphasized quite a bit for what kind of protein you want... as our server brought us shrimp rolls despite grilled chicken being confirned and written down 😅 they did rectify this i will note and that was appreciated!

Khmer Thai Restaurant, located in the St Clair West community since 2003, offers a delectable selection of Cambodian and Thai cuisine. The restaurant is known for its ample portions and mouthwatering dishes such as pad Thai and golden beef. While the interior may be a bit dated, guests are drawn to this family restaurant for its home-cooked Cambodian meals and specialty curries.
I absolutely love this place. I ordered their curry chicken and it was delicious. Portions are generous and prices are reasonable. The staff are also friendly and helpful. I can’t recommend this place enough for those who are craving authentic Thai and Cambodian food. Would love to go back again for sure!

Ordered Pad Thai Sai Kai via delivery. The liquid (not sauce as it should have been) leaked completely out of the snap lid container (it was like putting soup into a box....what could go wrong?) Zero taste! It was listed as very spicy, I would have been happy with ANY type of spice or seasoning. Chicken is processed, breast, super dry. Two slices of cucumber & two slices of tomato, no other veg, a rogue bean sprout was found. At best, it tasted like a mediocre pho. So disappointed and so bland even accounting for the fact that I got it delivered, I can't imagine it would actually have taste or flavour in-person. I tried contacting the restaurant before leaving this review but no luck.

I wish I could give it 4.5 stars. The portions were good. The service was friendly. Everything was tasty but only 2/5 dishes were excellent. The decor inside is seriously lacking as well. #10 was really good! The cold rolls were a good size but were a bit bland compared to other places I've been. #12 had lots of veggies and good flavors. I didnt love the basil chicken.. Res curry was good too. I will go again and found prices to be fair.

As always, the flavours in the food here are just incredible. Was recommended the glass noodle to compliment the famous golden beef and it did not disappoint. If a place is only open for four hours a day and still thriving, you know their food is good. October 2021 4★ a family restaurant with family cooked meals. Portions are good. The interior of the restaurant is a bit dated, but that's not what you come here for. If your looking for some home cooked Cambodian meal, then this isn't a bad option. Apparently, their curries are their specialty. Had the #1 Phanaeng Kai - chicken curry, and it was very good. Slices of chicken breast meat cooked in a spicy curry with peanuts and basil on a bed of rice. Also had #7 Samlaw Khmer - this was ok. Stir fry shrimp, chicken and vegetables in the tamarind sauce isn't bad, but it didn't stand out. Overall not bad. You should consider trying it.

Went twice during our few days in Toronto. I think that alone is a great review! This place is the perfect spot for great, homemade food, and very friendly service. Prices were great (not just for Toronto!), and the atmosphere of a place that just does good things really well is becoming a lost art in the age of social media, hype etc. Spend a minute, eat here: get the dill pickle soup (if you're lucky enough to be there on a day when they have it on Special), and the housemade perogies. But really, everything we had was stellar. Pictured are the kielbasa sandwich, veggie soup, dill pickle soup and the bigos. Beer available (had a Helles 👍👍)

We sat facing the wall; seats are a bit tight, and food is handed over from the bar. We came just after noon, so it was already the lunch menu. Both of us ordered the Hungry Tata’s Lunch because it came with pirogis (which I love!). The plate included a big cabbage roll, a sausage, four pirogis, and pickled veggies. Generous portion, though a bit pricey at $27+tax. The pirogis were great, and I really enjoyed the sausage. First time trying Polish food besides pirogis. Overall, a satisfying experience.

A very delicious Chinese dim sum restaurant. The interior is very cozy, but the shop closes early. Please pay attention to the business hours if you go.

The food here is delicious! The Har Gow and Siu Mai are perfectly done and are large in size. The flavour is great, and the price for the size is great. I also love the steamed bbq pork bun's filling. The squid was a great size and very tender. If you like curry flavour, you will love the squid. The short rib is also very flavourful. If you like Dim Sum, come here and try it.
James — Google review
most awful dim sum I have ever tasted. the wrapper of the chicken dumpling is thick and still has raw dough. the matcha soup dumplings' wrapper is hard as well and the meat inside tastes sour, probably why it's on promo on ubereats buy 1 get 1. the baby octopus was overcooked and too rubbery to eat we had to throw them out. the abalone tart had a mushy texture. the hargow has a very thick wrapper too. the only item we liked is the foie gras and caviar siu mai but we do not taste foie gras. among all dim sum restaurants in the area, they are the most expensive and the worst quality. Rosewood, Dim Sum King and Wok Theory are way better and cheaper.
Rafael C — Google review
The host was friendly and the restaurant was very clean. Their dimsum looked delicate and tasted umami (they used dried shrimp as an ingredient) But the portion under such a price... to be honest… should be larger...
YJSNPI — Google review
The food was tasty and well presented. We tried the assorted plate and every single item had its own reasons for being a favorite. That fresh egg tart is otherworldly! It tastes better than it looks, and it looks absolutely delicious! Will definitely visit again and try more dishes. The location is great for people watching and taking in the very intentional looking decor which looks even better in the afternoon sun.

I discovered this cozy spot serving authentic dim sum right next to my workplace, and it was such a great find! The food was incredibly delicious and freshly prepared. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, making the experience even better. The restaurant has a modern, minimalist design that creates a relaxing atmosphere. I also really appreciate their commitment to sustainability—everything from the containers appears to be made from recyclable materials, which is a thoughtful touch. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more items from their menu!

The Siu Mai here is the best I've ever had. I loved it and the Har Gow. The spare ribs were yummy and the squid was tender and large. The BBQ pork buns were delicious. The chef is very nice and polite. 10/10 must try!

Trinity Square Cafe is a charming eatery located in an 1847 church, offering a rotating menu of hearty soups, salads, and sandwiches. The cafe operates as a not-for-profit establishment and provides employment opportunities for individuals with mental disabilities. With its affordable prices and delicious homemade dishes like Moroccan tomato soup and macaroni and cheese, it's a popular choice for those looking for a fulfilling meal in the area.
I've walked past this place a million times. I finally stopped in for lunch today. It's a small, cute cafe run by a not for profit. Today's special was macaroni and cheese for $7.95. It includes a small salad or soup. Tots steal. The mac and cheese was good and cheese. Very homemade with bread crumbs on the top. I went with a tomato basil soup to accompany it. The soup was really good. Fresh tasting and thick. The place is cash only but it's a great place right beside the eaton centre.

I recently stopped by Trinity Square Cafe and was blown away by the quality of their coffee! I ordered a latte and was impressed by how smooth and creamy it was. The latte art on top was a nice touch too 😍. What I loved most about this cafe was the cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The decor was charming and the staff was incredibly friendly. I felt right at home as I sipped on my latte and enjoyed a pastry. Overall, I highly recommend Trinity Square Cafe to any coffee lover. It's the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a delicious cup of joe ☕️. My Instagram: @Dr.Epra

Great hearty, homestyle food. There's usually 1-2 food options for lunch everyday, so it's a very fixed menu. They offer about 5 different soups, however I've only ever had the Moroccan tomatoe (which is one of the Best soups in the area imo) Price is very good as well. A meal and soup costs under $8, and the all the staff that works there have some sort of mental disability, and the cafe provides them a place to build upon employable skills which is another reason I highly recommend the place.
Pavan P — Google review
This is the place to get your soup! Absolutely a must during cold days. Probably the most reasonably priced lunch spot in the area. The wonderful people and cozy spot make it even better ! Definitely recommend!

A reliably homespun place. A simple menu, but tastily and reliably executed. Daily specials on a weekly rotation. Very reasonably priced. Don't look for espresso or anything either fancy or trendy here. Only open for lunch on weekdays. Usually friendly. The space is cluttered and crowded. I wouldn't bring a date here.

Chinese restaurant
Mom's Pan-Fried Buns, located in downtown Toronto and Unionville, offers a wide variety of delicious and affordable options, all under $10. The signature buns, appetizers, congee, and noodle dishes are served warm and fresh off the stove. The service is fast and efficient, with a simple menu to understand and quick food delivery. The atmosphere is clean but slightly cramped, with stylish tables and chairs.
My sister and I came here for dinner out and everything was absolutely delicious. The first thing I noticed was the grandma lovingly cooking with pans in the kitchen, which you can see through a window. She was smiling and enjoying herself! The servers were all super nice and friendly as well. The second thing I noticed was the prices: they’re very reasonable! Many uni students were eating dinner around us as you can fill up very fast for little. The portions were big and hearty while the prices are definitely student-friendly. Now the food itself was stellar. The Spicy Squid Skewers were chewy and had a great kick. The Fresh-fried Pork Buns and Pan-Fried Pork Dumplings were so juicy, they burst when you bit into them. And those three dishes alone were lots for two people! We also got their Honey Butter Chicken Wings and Savoury Pancake with Greens. The chicken was seasoned generously and cooked perfectly, and the pancake was a nice reprieve to have some veggies. Lastly, I got the Mango Sago for dessert. Another huge portion and it was easily sharable! The mango flavour was nice and it wasn’t overly sweet. I’ll definitely coming back for more soon. I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for filling, delicious Chinese dishes at reasonable prices!

This was hands down one of our favorite meals in Toronto. It’s a no-frills spot but the food was out of this world. There was one woman working the floor, taking orders and greeting everyone, and she handled it like a pro. We ordered buns, noodles, a burger, and seaweed salad, and everything was fresh, fast, and delicious. We left full and happy. Family-friendly and so worth the stop.
Angela C — Google review
Had a wonderful dining experience here!! The pan fried buns were delicious and fresh, it’s not oily but very light and airy. The portions for everything, especially the noodles were very generous for the low price. Would 100% recommend over the other dumpling places on the street, this restaurant feels like home❤️
Amanda — Google review
For the price, 5 stars. The cold noodles were tasty, and the pan fried buns were awesome. The braised beef noodle soup kind of lacked but was good for the price. The steamed dumplings were meh, wish we went fried dumplings. They cheaped out on the cheese powder on the wings, was kind of sad. But for the price, not disappointed at all.
Vinny R — Google review
Everything is made fresh and quick! All dishes are under $10 so it’s an affordable spot. So I come back and try something different on the menu each time. I recommend the pan fried baos - it’s their signature. Crispy bottom with a juicy inside.
Evan — Google review
The food is so heart-warming, fresh and simple - just like home-cooked meals. We ordered braised beef noodle soup and beef with rice. Both of them tasted amazing! Looking forward to visiting more on cold days.
Sneha P — Google review
Very average. Nothing to brag about flavor wise just cheap and acceptable so if I’m lazy to cook and want to not starve, I might go again. Lolo tried a few things and this spicy glass noodle soup is the best item out of all.
JJ — Google review
Mom’s Pan-Fried Bun did not disappoint. Baos were delicious and meat filled. Small dishes were yummy too. Tried the pig intestines(spicy and sweet), fried chicken (crispy and flavourful), and pickled veg and pork noodles. Favourite part was the tofu dessert. It was served fresh and hot. Texture was silky and smooth. One star off for waiting. Gave name and number to staff for waiting in line but seems like they only do first come first serve (not sure why they took down name and number if didn’t use this system, maybe it was lost in translation). Would recommend better wait list system. Otherwise great spot to eat!

Customers appreciate the streamlined online ordering process for quick and hassle-free pickup.
Amazing restaurant. Went there for dinner, and the soup dumplings were delicious, same with the pan fried dumplings, and had one of the best fried rice I’ve ever had. Food wise, it was extremely good. The restaurant atmosphere did not disappoint as well, it was beautiful, and the environment was great. The server was nice and friendly. Overall would highly recommend the restaurant, 10/10!
Nafees N — Google review
Qin’s Garden is a fantastic find! The decor is charming—clean and fresh while still feeling warm and welcoming. It has a casual vibe, and the service is super prompt, which makes for an easy and enjoyable dining experience. I was drawn here after seeing it all over Instagram, especially for the soup dumplings. While they were definitely the largest I’ve had in Toronto, they weren’t the best in terms of flavor. That said, the rest of the meal was excellent. The non-soup dumplings, noodle dishes, and rice dishes were all standouts—well-balanced in both flavors and textures, with generous portions and bold flavors. The extensive menu means there’s plenty more to explore, and I can’t wait to go back and try more dishes. If you’re coming for the soup dumplings, they’re worth a try if you prioritize size over taste, but otherwise, skip them and dive into the rest of the menu.
Julianne J — Google review
I first saw these soup dumplings in a famous food documentary back in China, and when I finally tried them, I was hooked right away. They use a four-generation family recipe, but unfortunately, the original shop in China closed during Covid. Never thought I’d find their overseas branch here in Canada—and wow, the taste is exactly the same! The soup dumplings are legit: super thin skin, packed with juicy meat, and full of rich broth you can actually sip. We also tried the broccoli fried with chicken, was really flavorful and well-cooked. So happy I found this place. Highly recommend!

I had the best xiaolongbao at Qin’s Garden—they were huge, juicy, and so tasty. The place has such a warm, elegant vibe, and it’s really clean and neat. Very relaxing. The spring rolls were great too, but my favorite tonight has to be the sweet and sour pork. It was just the right mix of sweet and sour—so good!

5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My boyfriend clearly has a talent for picking great restaurants — this meal was proof! I haven’t had crispy sweet corn (玉米烙) in ages, and it was so satisfying. The wheat gluten stuffed with meat (面筋塞肉) was rich and flavorful, and the braised ribs were incredibly tender. Of course, the xiao long bao were juicy and delicate, just the way they should be. Every dish felt comforting and well-executed — will definitely be coming back for more.
Feifei L — Google review
Tried the steamed soup dumplings with crab meat and pork as well as the beef fried rice. The fried rice was meh, it's not the best I've had nor was it bad but I've had better and wouldn't order it again. The soup dumplings were good and I did quite like them. They were juicy, fairly big with a lot of meat filling but at the same time, it's still $10 for 4 dumplings so given the location in dt, good dumplings can be found for a better price. I was told the dumplings were made to order so it did take about 15-20 mins to get out food which is perfectly fine and I appreciated the heads up when I ordered it. Overall, it's not going to be in my regular rotation of restaurants to visit just simply because of the quantity of food not being filling however, given the quality of the dumplings, I would give it a shot again to see if it does fully win me over one day.

Tofu Village is a delightful gem nestled in the heart of Koreatown, Toronto, where you can indulge in an impressive selection of traditional Korean dishes. The airy space features a low-key ambiance complemented by gentle K-pop tunes, making it perfect for enjoying your meal without distractions. Basically the food is not worth the price and the customer service is disappointing. Ordered the household special soon tofu with beef and seafood, and vegetable soon tofu. But the soup was filled with tofu, barely saw beef/seafood, vegetables, far away from the photo they provided in menu. Also the menu was not clear, and they were impatient with answering questions. Sides were also cold and old.

I have been here few times. This Korea restaurant served good quality food, clean and good service. You can eat the meal slowly, no rush, and quietly. I ordered beef tofu stew today, when stew arrived, the pot was boiling. Temperature is hot enough to crack the egg in for cooking.
Roxy H — Google review
Came here on Labor Day because my usual Korean spots were closed. I ordered the cold noodles and beef bulgogi. The prices are definitely higher side than the competitors. The portion of the bulgogi ($21) was much smaller, and it wasn’t as tasty as most. My noodles were not cooked well as some noodles were still clumped together into 1 huge fat noodle. Overall the food and service was alright, but probably will only come here if it is the only option again.

This is a really good Korean restaurant. We've had four dishes and they were all delicious. Try the kimchi pancakes. I also like their bibimbop and their sides. They have very good tofu soup, and you can control it's spiciness level. Overall everything is fresh and tasty.

This place is truly a hidden gem in the heart of midtown. We came here on a Sunday to try their brunch and were pleasantly impressed. The warm and welcoming atmosphere, coupled with the charming decorations and friendly owners, made us feel right at home. The cozy vibes and having many patrons showed us why this spot is so beloved. We ordered “Cobb Salad”, “Fully Loaded Pastrami” and “Zelden’s Smokey Benedict “. Cobb salad was a healthy starter and it was fresh and perfectly cut. Fully loaded fresh and warm pastrami (made in-house), paired with their homemade spicy mustard was the highlight of our meal. Smoked meat was fresh and a great pairing with egg benny. We would definitely love to come back and enjoy more of their menu.

Just a fun, great deli. Stopped by and got the corned beef sandwhich with side potato salad. The corned beef was thinly sliced, tender, and had that perfect salty-tastiness to it. The potato salad was nicely chunky. And the spicy mustard stole the show. Bonus points for their super extensive menu that went well beyond standard deli fare. Prices were reasonable. Service was friendly, kitchen was quick. Place was small-ish bit bright and welcoming. Given the food and vibe of this place, can see why it was packed. Will definitely be back if I'm in the mood for some good deli.

We came for breakfast and unfortunately we were quite disappointed with the quality of the food and the presentation. We constantly order the salmon Benedict plate every time we go out for breakfast somewhere. Here is on the higher end of the price which is okay with us as long as the quality of the food is also on the higher end. Not the case. The avocado they use on the plate was dark brown in colour meaning not fresh and there was only 2 very thin slices of fruit. The potatoes were very good but not enough to make any client satisfied. Also kids menu 12.95 for half waffle.

This place has truly become my happy place. I come here not only for the delicious food—which is always wholesome and made with so much love—but also for the warm, welcoming staff and the cozy ambience that instantly lifts my spirits. For the past two years, this spot has been my go-to—whether I’m celebrating something special, enjoying a peaceful weekend brunch, or just needing a comforting space when I’m feeling low. It’s more than just a restaurant; it’s a little sanctuary in the heart of Yonge and St. Clair. An absolute must-visit for anyone looking for good food, good vibes, and genuine warmth.

So we went here for evening snack, we ordered quesadilla, Fries and onion rings. The quesadilla was OK. The fries were like super cold so we asked them to get us new ones and what she did was she just microwave the same fries and gave it to us, yes, that’s correct. It tasted so blank to be honest that did not have any taste. Also, the onion rings were like nothing like no spices nothing it was just flour and oil and onions. I would rate the food four out of 10. We spend like $35 for this food.

Shi MiaoDao Yunnan Rice Noodle (Downtown) is a delightful haven for soup enthusiasts, offering an impressive selection of broths accompanied by a variety of toppings and unlimited noodles. This bustling eatery has gained immense popularity, especially during the colder months when patrons flock to enjoy their steaming bowls of pork bone broth served directly at your table. The menu caters to diverse tastes with options ranging from rich tomato and earthy mushroom broths to intensely spicy varieties.
I wasn’t feeling too good so I thought some soup noodles would make me feel better :) And it did! I went on Tuesday, and they have a daily happy hour menu from 11-2 I believe (it’s from memory so I could be wrong) that costs $12 (I thinkkkkkk it could’ve been $11…) But for Tuesday it was the golden sweet and sour soup! Was very warming and filling. I always think “wow this isn’t enough toppings” but I’m always too full to barely finish anyways LOL. You get free dessert! It wasn’t too sweet, I think it’s brown sugar jelly with nuts and raisins (they make sure you don’t have nut allergy first). They have a cute banana caution sign, I think that’s like 5 stars it’s self- no?

My mom and I recently visited this spot after a day at the Art Gallery, hoping for a cozy lunch. We decided on the lunch special, which came with generous portions perfect for sharing. The mushroom soup was the only vegetarian option available, so we went with that. It was wonderfully flavorful, with a rich, comforting taste that we both really enjoyed. However, I couldn’t help but feel disappointed by the limited vegetarian choices on the menu; I wish there were more options to choose from. On a positive note, the service was attentive and friendly, making us feel welcomed throughout our meal. The price was also quite affordable, especially for the portion sizes. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, but I’d love to see an expanded menu that caters more to vegetarians.

A hidden gem Chinese restaurant here! Awesome food, and I particularly recommend fried dumplings, which have a thin layer covering the dumplings, which itself tastes so crispy and good. Prices are reasonable, and service and atmosphere are good as well. The owner, likely a accomplished artist, told us that he drew some portraits during the lock-down period (from pandemic) and hanged them on the wall, which look really interesting as one can tell portraits are really livid. I will be sharing some of them shortly, from my phone.

Wow. Absolutely positively delicious. Top knotch Chinese food and I can't wait to go back for more. The dumplings are incredible and don't miss out on the braised beef noodle soup.... Again WOW. Really really great food without treking downtown or north of the city. Lucky to have this amazing Asian cuisine here in the Junction.

Came here for the gluten free dumplings people raved about. Got pork and vegetarian. The dough was a little crumbly, which made them a little tough to eat, but I still loved the ability to have something gluten free that normally isn't! I was hoping there might be more options on the menu for gluten free items, but that was all I saw (and essentially what I came for). If I were not allergic to broccoli, I would have tried the beef and broccoli, which I was told could be made gluten free.

Absolutely delicious authentic dumplings for a great price. They have vegetarian and gluten-free options! Great spot for a quick lunch. Definitely recommend the steamed cuttlefish dumplings.

We are loyal food app delivery patrons of Tumi and have actually never dined onsite. We just love the convenience of being able to bulk order delicious food and having generous leftovers for several meals. Our absolute menu favourites are xiao long bao (the best of the dumplings selection!), wonton soup, sweet and sour fish fillet, mapo tofu, fried noodles with shrimp and Yangzhou fried rice. These are our consistent order staples every single time. We just recently tried the pa-fried bao of pork filling and sautéed beef with mushrooms and it was delectable; definitely adding to our usual rotation. Our orders are always neatly packaged and we especially love the high quality of the food; it really tastes authentic and flavourful. We are so glad to have Tumi in our neighbourhood, highly recommended!

Bright, clean, friendly staff (and owner who we chatted a bit after), fair priced menu with high quality dumplings. We ordered the pan fried vegan and chicken dumplings, and the pork bao, more than enough for two, more like food for 3 or 4. Great portions! Will definitely be back!

Absolutely wonderful visit to Tumi Dumpling House. Among our group, we tried 7 different items, including vegan, vegetarian, and meat options. All the dishes we had were very delicious. Particularly excellent dishes were the scallion pancakes, General Tso's chicken, and the pan-fried vegan dumplings. We had lunch on a Sunday, and there was a steady stream of take-out and delivery orders going out while we dined. Very popular! Highly recommended.

This review is more like 4.5 stars. Came here for dinner on a Saturday night. This place is a cute spot for dinner with family or friends. Roughly 10 small tables in the entire place. Cheap parking on the street or in lots nearby. The menu is easy to digest and has a variety of options. Surprisingly they don’t have a lot of dumpling options despite being called a dumpling house??? Ordered a few different dumplings and some green beans for veggies. The dumplings were steamed well and for the most part tasty. I wouldn’t recommend the seafood dumpling with egg. Was a bit weird for my taste but it wasn’t horrible. The beans were cooked well. I would come again or get takeout since there was a never ending stream of takeout the entire time I was there. I just wish there were a bit more options of dumplings.

Summerhill Market - Annex is a popular choice for students due to its proximity to the University of Toronto and its close location to two shopping districts. The store offers a wonderful selection of ready-made meals and sides, with an emphasis on quality over price. Additionally, it provides keto items in the bakery and fresh produce that is well-presented and always fresh. The grocery store carries upscale items not commonly found elsewhere, although it may be slightly pricey.
Summerhill Market on Bathurst Street is a true gem for food lovers. This upscale grocery store offers an exceptional selection of fresh produce, gourmet products, and high-quality ingredients, but where it truly shines is its incredible prepared foods section. Whether you’re craving a hearty meal, a light snack, or something in between, their ever-changing lineup of chef-crafted dishes never disappoints. One of the best things about Summerhill Market is their commitment to innovation—they always have an interesting special that keeps things fresh and exciting. Whether it’s a seasonal delicacy or a creative new take on a classic dish, there’s always something unique to discover. The store is impeccably organized, making shopping an absolute pleasure, and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to help with recommendations. For anyone who values high-quality ingredients and delicious, ready-to-eat meals, Summerhill Market on Bathurst is a must-visit.

Leaving this review so that I could get any type of response! I genuinely love this place for all it has to offer and have been dropping by whenever I'm in the area. I bought a bag of bagels on sale last time I was there on 6/12, only to find all of them with molds when I got home and opened it literally the day of. I reached out to them via webform they specifically listed on their website, waited a week, and had not heard back. Gave it another go, waited a couple more days, and still haven't heard back. It's pretty disappointing since mistakes can happen, especially in grocery store with variety of stuffs, but at this point I can't help but think they just chose not to respond.
Yoon K — Google review
This rating only reflects my most recent visit here. It pains me to write this review because I truly love this market. Recently, I had purchased a Summerhill Market branded rose pasta sauce @ $7.99 (retail value). Once I had added the sauce to the pasta, I realized only after tasting it, that it was expired, despite the Best Before date being February 2025 (7.5 months left to go for the jar). The sauce had a putrid and acidic taste (almost like lime mixed with tamarind) - which is absolutely not the taste of rose sauce. My entire family that I cooked for had agreed that there was an off-taste with the sauce. I had no choice but to throw the entire batch of pasta out. Absolute waste of money + time! This was not the first time purchasing the sauce from this market as I had used it in another pasta dish before. It is disappointing since I only visit this market a couple times a year, and live about 45 minutes away. A refund of $7.99 doesn't make sense for such a trip. What is more frustrating is that this being a high end grocery market selling marked up goods, failed to ensure quality products to its consumers. The production facility needs to ensure that only fresh + quality + unexpired ingredients are being used in the packaged food/goods. During a call the following day, the manager had offered me a refund at any time during a future visit which is a nice gesture, however, I feel a little more can be done as compensation.

Such a beautiful market. I’m definitely coming back everything is so clean and tidy. Nice staff too.

We shopped here to stock up on some groceries and made-in-store items for our picnic. Everything we got was great! We got two freshly made sandwiches: the Rustic Chicken Salad Sandwich and the Cranberry Turkey Sandwich. Both sandwiches were delicious! The meats, vegetables and bread were all fresh. We appreciated the lady at the counter recommending them! We also purchased some Driscoll’s strawberries. They were large, ripe and juicy! I definitely recommend stopping by this Summerhill Market location to get your groceries and then some!
Georgia — Google review
This location is mobility accessible. They have a wonderful selection of already made meals and sides. The ready made items can be on the expensive side, however, you are getting great quality for the price. You can also purchase Keto items here in the bakery. If you have not been to this location it is well worth it. The produce selection is always presented well and really fresh. They also have a selection of things you can not find at other stores. **Tip: there is parking behind the store
Kenneth K — Google review
Very interesting grocery store. Upscale and alot of items that you cannot get at most grocery stores. Cannot deny that it is a bit pricey and will be a shock if you have not been there before. However the ingredients were all quality. One thing that really caught my eye was the packaged sushi that they carry. It is labelled by Miku which is a favourite of mine; especially for Aburi sushi. The highlight of this trip was the vegan section which had alot of options and variety. Some that I have heard of and tried and others that I thought were only in the US. Definitely recommend checking out this grocery store at least once!
Marcus S — Google review
This has been a go to place for food and groceries with plenty of freshly prepared food that all hits the spot. There's primarily fresh grocery, in- house pre-made meals, salads, curries, noodle dishes, pot pies, and locally crafted stuff. It's not a discount store although they do put things up to 50% off if you're lucky enough to find it.

The Daily Dumpling Wonton Co, located at 792 College, offers a chic and minimalist setting where you can enjoy a variety of Chinese dumplings, noodles, and soups. Customers rave about the classic Shanghai dumplings with pork and mustard greens as well as the vegan spinach dumplings with peanut sauce and hot sauce. The portions are generous, making it perfect for sharing multiple dishes.
Outstanding discovery, I was looking for exactly what the Daily Dumpling was offering! Great friendly service, awesome flavours that took me back to a moment in my life when I called Shanghai home. I can't wait to revisit! The second we got out dishes, we reordered seconds. Thank you for bringing Shanghai to Toronto!

They change the order on Ubereats without communicating with customers. I ordered several different flavours of the wontons, wanted different sauces and soup. There’s no any soup came in! The shrimp flavour is not fresh! And the spinach pine seeds ones don’t taste pine seeds at all!

First tried at the ex and have visited this location a few times now! The dumplings are delicious, full of flavourful and go well with all their sauces Noodles are chewy and well seasoned. Bao buns are delish too! They have about 10 high top seats and offer a variety of items to dine in. Noodles & dumplings took about 10min Favourite dumplings are the pork and mustard greens with the ginger soy sauce

I ordered the bento box from Mea River and it was amazing! Everything was freshly cooked and the flavors were incredible. I had the shrimp dumplings with noodles and chili oil — absolutely delicious. The food was so fresh and full of flavor. I will definitely be coming back again! And the price was great !!

Delicious food and a great spot for takeout! You can dine in as well but the space is very small. The shrimp pork chive wontons with peanut sauce is my favourite, as well as their sausages.
Jennifer X — Google review
I seriously do not know why this place has such a high rating. The wontons tasted mediocre; they basically tasted like defrosted grocery store bought wontons. Nothing special about the broth either... Literally just tastes like something you can cook off instantly with a bag of frozen dumplings... On top of that, the cashier/server did not really speak much English so she couldn't answer my questions about recommendations properly either. I asked about the restaurant's most popular broth but she pointed to all the broth types one by one and said "This one. Or maybe this? This? This maybe?" which clearly meant she couldn't communicate well...
W K — Google review
Order the vegan dumplings with peanut sauce. It was below par, the girl was on her cellphone the whole time while placing the order and while boiling the dumplings, she did not wash her hands between using her phone and interacting with our food. When I asked for hot sauce or chilli oil she said it was a $2 charge (for hot sauce? Really? After paying$15+ for 10 dumpling she wanted to up charge me for some hot suace... I won't be visiting this place again.

Nestled in the heart of Toronto, Soul Provisions is a delightful haven for soup lovers, proudly featuring the renowned Toronto Soup Co. This unique establishment not only serves up an array of handcrafted soups—ranging from hearty chicken with matzo balls to flavorful vegan options like mulligatawny—but also embodies a spirit of giving. For every litre sold, they donate a bowl to someone in need, making each purchase feel even more meaningful.
This place is simply fantastic. I miss everyday I am not in the vicinity to get my morning coffee + snack/ breakfast. I've never been to a more warm and welcoming cafe. As someone who takes his health seriously I value high quality and tasty food, and have never been happier going anywhere else for tasty snacks alongside my morning coffee. Everyone working there is delightful, ina freat mood, and really brightens the place up - I didn't have to meet the owner to be able to tell that she really values her customers and employees! I'm no longer working in the area but I will have to travel here just to support them sometime soon, since this place is such a gem...fantastisch!

Chicken soup with matzo balls tasted like chicken stock from a carton was poured over a few carrots and celery. Low quality, pretty disappointing. Won't order again.
Maxmccabe55 — Google review
Ordered the mulligatawny soup and vegan chili. It was good overall but on the Ubereats app it mentions that the products intentionally have less salt. Unfortunately both of the items tasted much saltier than we had anticipated. Maybe this should not be advertised especially for people who buy these products for specific dietary restrictions.

Super tasty popsicles here with a wide range of selection. I love this place! Follow me for more food adventures on Instagram at @maggielicious.to

Today had the vegan chickpea stew, and a jerk chicken patty. Both delicious, well balanced, patty was mildly and pleasantly spicy. I have had soup in the past where the chicken was a bit dry, so that is my only note. Otherwise, everything else is great, soup is VERY reasonably priced. Store is vibrant and cute and staff are very nice and efficient.

Randomly stopped by when taking the bike out and found this hidden gem of a spot. Picked up soup to go but they do have patio tables and wine for a nice summer day. Definitely will be back soon to dine on the patio.

Delicious homemade soups, I ordered the chicken soup, Thai, and sweet potato ginger on Uber eats and warmed it up at home. LOVED IT!! Fresh, clean, healthy, nourishing soups for good health - packed with love. Only good vibes here. Food for the soul - thanks, just what I needed. (First time customer) 💕

I live out of town and purchased the care package with two soups for a sick friend. Turns out this is their favourite soup place and they were over the moon excited with all included in the package. Service was also amazing when I called the store twice. I will definitely be using again…thanks so much!
