Ramen restaurant

Ryujin Ramen House is a bustling eatery in midtown, offering an extensive menu of classic and spicy ramen flavors, small plates, curries, and snow cones. The service is known for being quick, friendly, and attentive. While wait times for tables may vary, the overall impression of the service is positive. Specializing in traditional Japanese cuisine, this popular spot also serves Japanese tasting dishes alongside its signature ramen and noodles.
This place is small and their menu is small, which can be a good thing. Sometimes it can be overwhelming with a big menu and they don’t specialize on anything. However this place has three ramens, I chose the spicy red ramen. I enjoyed it, was full of flavor and not too salty. When I showed up it was very busy, so if you have a large party, try to go earlier or consider you may be waiting a bit; especially

Mmmm-mmmm!!!!!! That’s all I can really say to describe the food. It’s so good, not overly salty but you can always ask for sauces. We had the tonkotsu white ramen, and the kaarage for appetizer. We also had a sake bomb (a must right before a hardy meal! Hehe). The food itself is very good and tastes homemade. The atmosphere is lowkey really nice, it gives warm bar/cozy vibes. Life the lighting and layout of everything. The staff is super attentive and kind, they check on you frequently and smile a lot. I felt taken care of and welcome here! I would definitely come back! Once again, MMMM MMMM!!!

Ryujin Ramen House – 1831 S St #100, Sacramento, CA 95811 I’m not sure where to begin, but I’ll start with the parking—it was decent, not great, but manageable. We checked ourselves in upon arrival, and the restaurant had a nice atmosphere. It was busy and filled with customers, which initially gave me hope. Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to the hype. I’m not sure if the glowing reviews are paid for or if my expectations were just too high, but the ramen was underwhelming. The broth lacked depth, and overall, the flavor just wasn’t there. I’d rate this place a 4/10 or 2/5 if I had to give it an honest score. I personally wouldn’t return, nor would I recommend it to others.
John — Google review
My first time, with 4 others. Four of us got different ramen bowls, one got curry/rice. We all agreed that the flavors were fantastic, not too salty, just right. The gyoza appetizer was tasty also. We all agree it is worth coming back for. Japanese beer on tap, in bottles also. Sake options were good as well. Lots of parking in the Safeway parking lot, or on the street.

Have been to this spot multiple times now and it always hits the spot! The place is popular for a reason! They have indoor and outdoor seating, and bar seating. If it’s not busy then you’ll be sat right away and even when it’s busy the food comes out quick! I’ve tried the black ramen and the red ramen, I prefer the spicier red ramen! The takoyaki here is also super tasty! The restaurant is clean, good amount of seating, staff are nice and are on top of it! The location is convenient as it’s nearby a bunch of shops and other restaurants. Definitely a great ramen place and I’ll be coming back!
Liliana M — Google review
It was super crowded but they are very prompt and efficient. We got our food fast. I got the spicy chicken ramen: it had good flavor. My friend got the regular and another friend got the veggie. She liked the amount of veggies in it. They had heated lamps for outside sitting which was pleasant.
Leah C — Google review
12/2023 crowded still provides excellent service, good food. Hopefully, they would open another location with a bigger dining space. Tried chicken karaage, tonkotsu ramen, and kyu don (beef with rice). All are delicious, recommended. 2021 Good experience. We arrived around 6pm, crowed, many togos. Outside still had seats, only waited 10-15mins for two inside seats. Food came out quickly and tasted good. Servers are courteous. Recommended.

Restaurant
Blackbird is a trendy New American restaurant in downtown with a focus on seafood and an extensive craft beer selection. One of its standout dishes is the Captains Chowder, which has helped the restaurant endure through multiple iterations. The chowder is filled with a variety of seafood and velvety potatoes, creating a hearty and peppery soup that stands out from typical offerings.
To star, they change their name to Bar Rosé a while ago, but I don't know why still appearing in Google maps as BlackBird, but anyways, we love the food and the vibe here! During the weekends they still serving food until 2 or 3am!!!! It's amazing because that it is hard to find and hard to find good food and good menu that late. Not dissaponed at all. Going back soon!
Johanna A — Google review
Went there for happy hour last night for the first time. Downstairs was starting to get crowded, but we were greeted immediately by host (Demetri) who reassured us we will get seated within the next half hour once they open upstairs. We opted to stay down by the bar and made our way to bar. Bartender was attentive and took our orders immediately. We then grabbed the last open table and sat down. Soon a server came to check on us. We ordered from happy hour menu and food came out in a decent amount of time. The Captain's chowder was amazing! Shishito peppers and sliders were as well. Drinks were pricey, but good and strong. Overall, had a fantastic experience there. Had a very San Francisco feel to it. Definitely worth checking out!
C. C — Google review
I had dinner here with three of my friends. The oysters were excellent. The salmon was fresh and the pork belly was tasty. I was not a big fan of the ravioli... Overall great place, I would recommend bringing a date here since the portions are small. Might be back soon..
Zibob L — Google review
My wife and I are pub food people and just love a good burger and cold beer. This place is definitely that. It was a 4-star dining experience, reasonable prices, and a chill atmosphere. We sat at the bar and got great service and conversation. Can't wait to go back again.
Brad D — Google review
We went there for happy hour and probably never going back there for happy hour again. There were not that many happy hour options. The dinner items looked good, but we were not that hungry. None of our drinks were happy hour prices: an IPA, and a cocktail. I guess it's just select beer on harpy hour, which they didn't mention. My cocktail, which I requested to only be rum and mint with soda water (basically a sugar free mojito) was $9. Seriously, nine dollars for a shot of well rum, mint leaves, and soda water. How is that happy hour price? And the bbq oysters we ordered were so small, 4 for $9. It was just not the greatest happy hour place.
Martha R — Google review
What a fantastic find! Every dish was exceptional and the price can not be beat. The chowder is, as has been claimed, among the best you'll find. The pork belly is a treat but the carnitas ravioli was one of the best things I've ever eaten. And the peanut butter mousse at the end is otherworldly in its deliciousness. Go here. Go now.
Chad V — Google review
Food was delicious. The burger has onion jam and bacon (can't go wrong there) and the fries are super crispy. I need to go back to try some of the more interesting menu items. The staff is really friendly.
Lindsay L — Google review
Hip vibe with loft seating. Pretty spectacular beer list and interesting menu. King Salmon crudo/with pickled veggies was great, so was the seafood chowder. Probably the best chowder I've ever had, and I've had quite a few. Shisto pepper was as expected, fried chicken was a bit underwhelming though. Not sure why I went with such a pedestrian choice, and it was overly salty to boot. Very moist though, and the house kimchi was solid.

Dim sum restaurant
Restaurant
If you're on the hunt for a delightful dim sum experience, look no further than Dim Sum House in Granite Bay. This charming eatery offers an all-day menu filled with authentic Chinese bites that are sure to tantalize your taste buds. Unlike traditional dim sum spots where dishes are served from rolling carts, here you can order directly from the menu, making it a convenient choice for any time of day.
A non descriptive place that serves homemade dumplings for takeout. Came here at 9 when they opened but we drove around unsure if they were actually open. Very affordable and tasty. The sticky rice is a must have. Gianormous and packed with pork and peanuts. Highly recommended
Eric L — Google review
When I lived in Sacramento I made my way to to Dim Sum House a few times a month. My hubby loves it so much that it was a priority for him to visit while we are visiting in Sacramento. I don’t know many other places where they sell dim sum by the piece/ a la carte and this place does which is very convenient of you don’t want to buy a whole tray. The taro dumpling is very special and one of my favorites! I also like their house chow mein, the war won ton soup and of course all the dim sum! Not much seating so to-go orders are best. I definitely recommend this place for affordable and yummy dim sum!
Jocelyn G — Google review
I made a huge mistake of not going to Lam Kwong deli on 12th street. Thought I'd try something new. Horrible dim sum. Seeded like it was days old. Not fresh at all. Don't bother stopping here if you need dim sum on a week day early.
R S — Google review
This is a small whole in the wall probably 2 person operation so don't expect a whole dining experience or a huge dim sum selection. They have Dim Sum, a daily special plate and a paper menu full of items that they don't post so you have to asked for it. Prices are super low and portions are very generous so no frills but expect it to be tasty, filing and handmade. The dim sum selection is smaller. They make and put out what they have in the front for quick take out and when they're out, they're out. Get there earlier for the best selection. At the end of the afternoon, you get what you get. Shu Mai is my favorite along with the fried taro, fried pork dumpling and baked BBQ pork bun. They have a daily special plate that is freshly made when you order so expect a short wait. For $7 you get a big box that's almost 2 meals. The veggies are cut kind of big but they are fresh. Plenty of flavor! Best $7 plate you can get. The paper menu has a huge selection of food that I didn't know they offered until I saw a lady eating soup. I ordered chicken wonton soup and it was packed with chicken, wontons and veggies. It was tasty. Service is quick and to the point. It's one person doing it all Definitely not much atmosphere. There's a table or two you can communally sit and eat but that place is not meant for table service. Or to hang out.
Cynthia L — Google review
I went to this place a few times. The food at Dim Sum House is consistently delicious, especially the dumplings and shrimp rice rolls. Service is quick, and the takeout process is smooth.
Evan L — Google review
As a lover good, cheap dim sum, this is the place.
E B — Google review
LOVE this place. Food is always fresh & great portions. It's my go to for pork buns and dumplings. Please note this is takeout only as there is no seating inside.
Carina C — Google review
Nice place to try some dim sum, they just have few types of dim sum. The place is small with few tables to stay and eat. Staffs very friendly. It’s not the best dim sum but it’s acceptable.

Dumpling restaurant
Journey to the Dumpling is a Chinese restaurant known for its relaxed atmosphere and a wide variety of dumplings, noodle soups, and rice dishes. The restaurant has two locations in Elk Grove and Midtown Sacramento, both popular among locals and visitors alike. One of their signature dishes is the xiaolongbao soup dumplings filled with crab, which has become a favorite among patrons.
Sooooo so GOOD!! I’ve tried many dumpling spots, because i’m quite literally obsessed with them! 😭 Journey to the dumpling is on the top of my list in regards to flavor and service. The atmosphere is also very calming, can’t complain at all! The staff are very attentive you don’t have to ask for much they’ll help you before you do! We ordered the pork soup dumplings, pan fried dumplings, wontons in chili oil(personal favorite) fried rice and cucumber salad. As well as potstickers but that was the only dish I feel lacked flavor. Other than that I recommend them so much! Please try their chili oil also, very flavorful! You can also buy some to take home! Happy eating y’all!:)

** Wait: Too long - even after you are on the waitlist and check in, the wait was 45-55 mins on a Sunday evening at 7:30p. **** Service: the wait staff were all very nice *** Quite loud inside although you do have TVs with no sound showing the local sports games like the Kings if it’s a game night. *** Food: underwhelming and quite overrated — but lots of pictures of all the menu items + lots of vegetarian options — they plaster the NO MSG sign on the menus. - Mushroom Bao: bland flavors, and they don’t have the black mushrooms inside. It’s just plain not so tasty mushroom inside, but presentation is CUTE!!! - Tan Tan Mian - noodles were good amount of chewy but minced flavors of the pork were just OK and this is served as a SOUP fyi. - Vegetable Chow Mein - decent flavors - Cucumber Salad was prob the tastiest of all - Green onion pancakes - soy sauce/vinegar mix was missing flavors along with the pancake itself Overall, I think that for the long wait, the food isn’t worth it if you’re NOT a vegetarian. For vegetarians, there’s plenty of options but this would not be my go-to-place for Chinese food.
Viviana H — Google review
Vibe of restaurant during an evening dinner rush was very overwhelming. This was my least favorite part of the experience. The tables are arranged very closely to another and it felt chaotic. Servers and staff were all very friendly. Nothing felt overly spicy so easy to add sauces for a custom spice level. *Food Reviews* Garlic noodles: 5/5 Strong garlic taste Peking Spare Ribs: 3/5 HAS BONES!! Sweet sauce is tasty. Menu doesn’t say there are bones so definitely a hazard! Chow Mein: 4/5 tasty and not oily. Thinner noodles Vegetarian Salt & Pepper Tofu: 5/5 STAR OF THE NIGHT! So tasty but super hot when it comes out give it a few mins so it firms up lol Pork Soup Dumplings: 2/5 Unfortunately they came undone super easy and leaked a pink semi solid goop (pork) which was not appetizing to look at so we ended up not eating them. They looked better the following day as leftovers Cucumber Salad: 4/5 tasty and simple Wonton in Chili Oil: 5/5 Perfect bite sized wontons with a flavorful sauce BBQ pork: 3/5 We weren’t really fans of this the bbq flavor is very subtle and the meat was a little tougher than we would have liked
Beth C — Google review
What a gem! restaurant was busy, but we were quickly seated. I ordered a order of the soup dumplings Ingredients were very fresh, dumplings and broth full of favor so amazing! It really reminded me of back home of a place l used go to in flushing queens when I was living there. 100% recommend!

Soooo delicious 😋 we left early as it takes about 1hr. Drive time and made it there just b4 Lunch. 1st time, we ordered the crunchy Bao buns, followed by Korean Style noodles. They have great Thai tea as well... Great service as it got bust. They were very polite, friendly and most of all Attentive.
Nickelas M — Google review
I came here on Saturday night with some friends for dinner. Toward the end of our meal, we noticed one of the staff using an electric fly swatter—and not just for one or two bugs. She was relentlessly zapping bugs all around the restaurant, while customers were still eating. It was extremely off-putting, especially since it was happening over the bar area and near where food was being closed up. She was laughing about it, which made the situation even more uncomfortable. We were so grossed out we couldn’t continue eating and decided to say something. We brought it up to our server and told him how inappropriate and unsanitary it was to be killing bugs around guests and food. His response? "Well, it’s part of our closing duties." That alone is a huge red flag. It’s unacceptable for a staff member to ignore the discomfort of their guests. If your “closing duties” involve actively killing bugs in the dining area, that’s not just unprofessional—it’s a major health concern. We asked to speak to a manager, who we could clearly see and hear refusing to come over. Instead, the server returned and offered us a 10% discount, saying "If you don’t want to accept this, I can ask the manager again." At that point, we were too disgusted to continue the conversation. We paid our bill and asked the server if he seriously thought this was acceptable. His response? "Well, I’ve been to worse." That pretty much says it all. This place has no regard for cleanliness, food safety, or customer experience. I’ve never felt so sick to my stomach at a restaurant—and I’ll never be coming back.
Austin R — Google review
We’re regulars at this place food is outstanding I tried many plates and they all been good i ordered the new half chicken. It was extremely tender garlic noodles are delicious. you won’t be disappointed
El L — Google review
Food: the dishes are amazingly good! Everything goes well with their chili oil and vinegar! This time we’re only a party of two, and the portion is good enough to fill our late lunch after a road trip. The Xiao Long Bao is very juicy and fresh, a must try! Service: shout out to our server Henry. He is very nice and he also packed us the chili oil and vinegar with our to go box. The time we came in is very close to their end of business hour but the staff are very warm and welcoming! Ambiance: casual place for family and friends.

Mexican restaurant
Restaurant
Mayahuel is a vibrant dining destination that beautifully showcases elevated Mexican cuisine within a stylish and spacious setting. Named after the Aztec goddess of agave, this restaurant boasts an impressive selection of tequila and mezcal, making it a haven for enthusiasts of these traditional spirits. One standout drink is the Maya Margarita, crafted with fresh lime juice and agave for a refreshing twist on the classic cocktail.
Best nice Mexican restaurant in Sacramento. I used to like that other Mexican one that got Michelin guide recommended but it got too popular and the food now lacks taste but Mayahuel has amazing dishes to offer! The spicy pistachio chicken mole is amazing but the adobe plate is probably my favorite! They offer flour or corn tortillas but it would be a step up if they made them on site since it’s actually super easy to make tortillas but maybe the ingredients are too expensive compared to just buying already made tortillas. The mango y chile drink is yummy I do miss it being in a taller cup looking at the reviews of others, they did get a tall cup so idk why I was jipped here. I have only been going before dinner rush lately but I do recall that dinner times the atmosphere was so good, I cannot speak for the last couple years as I have not gone that late. OMG did I mention the Mazapan ice cream and churro ice cream for dessert, 10/10!! My favorite restaurant that survived the pandemic and doesn’t need state workers to make it this far although if I have to support a company in this area I would choose Mayahuel only! I did consider 4 stars due to service since sometimes it is super loud in this restaurant that my ears hurt and I have to yell to be heard even when it is nearly empty inside in the middle of the day. Chips and salsa are extra, gone are the days of free chips and salsa, would not recommend paying for them since they are not special whatsoever and the salsa is bland if you are a true salsa lover but looking at the cliente, it makes sense. Also not all servers are great but 4/5 usually are. So for the most part they are great!
Abby M — Google review
We had some issues at Mayahuel. But I'll start with the good: Menu was great, lots of options which looked quite good. And what we had did taste good. Beer options were solid for a Mexican place Chips & Salsa were quite nice. OK, the bad: Service wasn't good. Took ~15 minutes to place our order (of any kind). I had to go to the bar and get the drinks myself since they were sitting up there so long> They had to scramble to find the Plant Based Menu, and then they were "possibly" out of the Lentil Soup, and asked if Carrot was OK in that case. (They were out, we got carrot, but we only found out once it arrived) They were also out of Carnitas (Note, we went at 11AM on a Sunday, so they had just opened) Food was not particularly hot when it came out, which I find unusual for a Mexican restuarant. Ordered an Appetizer and was asked if I wanted it first... I did. It arrived after mains, and even then I think only because I asked about it.
Corey S — Google review
Mayahuel is one of my wife’s and my favorite spots in Sacramento. Great food, great cocktails, great service, and an amazing atmosphere—it checks every box. You do pay a little more than other places, but it’s absolutely worth it. We started with chips, salsa, and guacamole—all fresh, flavorful, and perfectly mild. Feeling boozy, we tried a tequila flight (blanco, reposado, and añejo). The pours are small, so unless you’re a big tequila fan, I’d stick with cocktails. The drinks here are excellent—try the Paloma, Mayahuel Fresca, or La Flor if you like a little spice. We shared the brochetas de chorizo (great bites) and the carne con chile entrée, which I highly recommend. Warm, rich, and comforting—perfect for a cold, windy day. The asada tacos are also excellent if you want something lighter. The ambiance is beautiful, especially in October with their Día de los Muertos display. Parking can be tight, but there’s a garage right next door. Pro tip: the IMAX theater is a 30-second walk away—perfect for a dinner-and-a-movie date. Make a reservation if you’re going on a weekend or during lunch/dinner hours—Mayahuel fills up fast!

Amaaaazing food, so many traditional options, some of the best I’ve had! The owner was very kind to our group. The service was also great.
Cinthya F — Google review
The food and drinks were delicious. The service was less so due to initial issue where we asked to sit at the bar, were then invited to do so, only to be told to move (rudely by the bartender). Our waiter was very pleasant.

Not sure how this has an award. When you have to ask for silverware after your food comes, then have to ask for a napkin. Of course, when the other diners finally received their food and the fork arrived + the food was cold. I thought I would try something different. Oops. The description was well written and fooled me into thinking it would be delicious, not so much. Looks impressive, but lackluster and bland. I sent the flour tortillas back as they had a rancid oil flavor. The other diners ordered some pretty standard dishes (meatball soup, tacos and pozole) and said it was good. The drinks looked good. Overall, I was not impressed. The prices seem high for the quality. I will not be back.

Unique yummy offerings. The Mole and vegetarian dinner was super good! Great unique drink offering. Our poor waiter, he was excellent, but he got overrun with tables. They were very busy and the service was slow, but he was a very good waiter. We sat outside and it was a nice atmosphere. We will definitely go back.

We found this place walking around downtown when we stayed at the Sheraton. I have lived in California and Arizona most of my 65 years and I thought this food was some of my favorite ever. We had chicken tingas and they were worth making a trip to Sacramento all on their own. We also had shredded beef tacos along with chips and salsa. Every bite was a treat and they had a perfect salsa with mild heat and plenty of flavor. Those tingas though… beautiful little meaty bites of shredded chicken on a mini taco shell… like the best little tostada you have ever had…. Yum!

With locations across America, this iconic restaurant in Sacramento is beloved by locals and tourists alike for its pleasant atmosphere, excellent service, and high-quality cuisine. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating in romantic settings, making it a great choice for a dining experience. Piatti's specialty lies in its housemade daily pasta, with unique pasta stations providing a different experience on each visit.
Delicious food at a good price! I really enjoyed their Gnocchi and loved the pesto-ey citrusy sauce which tasted so fresh. The dishes are also not as expensive as other Italian places so I was pleasantly surprised! Update: We came back for dinner two more times and enjoyed both meals! I like how they adjust their menu with the seasons. I had the Gnocchi again and this time around it had a pumpkin sauce and pumpkin seeds. Very delicious!

Nice, upscale restaurant. The meals were presented beautifully. Fritto Misto was good but not for the non-vegetable eaters. Potato Gnocchi was well prepared however not a fan of the lemon brown butter. The lemon flavor spoiled it for me. The Radiatore was a winner.

Came here for our wedding anniversary (didn't tell the staff). We were seated promptly for our reservation, our orders were taken quickly, the food was excellent, the staff was helpful and observant. At 7:30 on a Saturday it was a bit empty, but it made for easy conversation without the need for raising our voices. Overall great place, and reasonably - priced for the quality.

I had the chopped salad in Italian salad dressing. This salad is good for radicchio lovers. The bŕead is served warm with olive oil and balsamic- very tasty. Also, the potato leek and puried asparagus soup was delicious.

Donna served us and is "amazing". We all had different dishes from the "homemade pasta" menu. I had the ravioli, and hubby enjoyed the vegetarian lasagna. We sampled 4 different desserts. Everything was so good.

Joe the Plumber asked me for my G. Loomis 8/9 weight fly rod because he knew I wasn't using it anymore, so I told him.."You can have it, but I want a dinner from Piatti Restaurant in exchange" He agreed to the exchange providing I bring it to Sactown, and hand deliver it! What a deal...I drive from Napa to Sactown, give him a $1100. Fly Rod and he gives me a Piatti dinner. Well, we used to have a Piatti up in Yountville, and there's one in Mill Valley that's hard to get in and out of...So, you know what..it is a good deal! But, I thought he'd at least take me there instead of grabbing a couple of to-go dishes and eating them at his kitchen table. Piatti is every bit worthy of a two hour drive! ☆☆☆☆☆

Bar
Jamie's Broadway Grille is a long-standing, vibrant restaurant known for its focus on meat dishes, particularly the smoked prime rib and daily specials. The establishment has a rich history, having been in operation for 62 years and offering a cozy, old-fashioned ambiance. Despite facing uncertainties after being listed for sale in 2018, the restaurant continues to thrive with its renowned garlic steak sandwich and award-winning clam chowder available for takeout.
I've been to Jamie's Broadway Grille several times, and I absolutely love this place! It's one of my go-to spots in Sacramento. The open seating arrangement is a big plus, and there’s never any wait when I go, which makes it super convenient. The food is always amazing - there’s so much to choose from, but a few of my personal favorites are their turkey club and Rueben sandwiches. The corned beef is house-made, and the sandwiches are loaded with thick slices of freshly cooked meat, always perfectly prepared. I can’t talk about Jamie’s without mentioning the French fries - they’re out of this world! Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and perfectly seasoned every time. And if you’re in the mood for fried chicken, their brandy fried chicken is a must-try. It's hands down some of the best authentic southern-style fried chicken I’ve ever had! The staff here is also top-notch - super friendly, welcoming, and genuinely nice people who always make you feel at home. The atmosphere is relaxed and low-key, and in addition to the main dining area, they also have a bar if you're in the mood for a drink while you eat. If you're looking for delicious food, excellent service, and a laid-back vibe, Jamie's Broadway Grille is one of the best spots in Sacramento.

Haven’t been here in years but decided to stop by because we were in the area. Garlic steak sandwich. Ask for it medium rare if you don’t want it well done. We also ordered the cheeseburger and asked for it to be medium rare and it came back more on the well side. Overall food is consistent just be sure to specify how you want your meat cooked

While heading to South Lake Tahoe from SF, we stopped by Jamie’s and it was of among best stops. 5 for the service and 5 for the burger. We wished the garlic steak sandwich to be stuffed with more steak chunks, to get the maximum experience and bite more steak than bread. The service was attentive and our thanks to the guest attendant (couldn’t get her name), but she took care of welcoming us all the way thru serving the food to the order till greeting us on the way out. Thanks to the chef and the team.

Stopped by here during work hour rush as the inside was packed. Tried the garlic steak sandwich which came with fries. The steak was very very very dry and the bread had no dressing on it so I had to put ranch or whatever I could find because it was impossible to swallow it dry. The steaks didn’t taste like filet mignon but more of a skirt steak. Besides the food, the customer service was great and the location had plenty of parking so it was convenient. Not sure if i stopped by during a bad day in the kitchen but I will most likely not come back again…

Didn't think the French dip was very good at all. Meat was kinda gray and not well seasoned. AJus tasted like it was from powder. Fries were delicious though!

Been going here for many years but the last 2 times something has changed. The quality of food is atrocious. $20.00 for frozen mushy fish sticks? My wife always orders the Garlic Steak Sandwich but today she took one bite and never touched it again. Place was completely empty on a Friday evening? I guess I missed the memo. I will not be back. R.I.P. Jamie's.

I ordered the steak sandwich with fries, I thought the steak would be a little thicker. It was an extremely thin piece of meat. It tasted OK but nothing special. I doubt that I’ll be going back. They have so many tables crammed in to the place ….

The restaurant has garnered a reputation as one of Sacramento's finest dining establishments, known for its exceptional service, relaxed ambiance, and innovative Vietnamese-fusion dishes. Some popular menu items include monk's curry, catfish in a claypot, and Siamese seafood bouillabaisse.
Excellent! We enjoyed everything in this restaurant! The food was delicious and was presented beautifuly, the interior was elegantly decorated, and the service was fantastic. I loved their tofu and mushroom paella and would love to try their other dishes soon! Edit: we came back for another dinner and were very happy again. The fish clay pot and the salmon with rice and curry were both delicious!

The best thing I had here was their lemon grass soup. The other dishes were okay. If I wasn’t there for a business meeting I would’ve taken more photos. Highly recommended for a date night with the loved one or even a casual business meeting.

Love this place. The food is excellent. I've a half dozen different items on the menu, and I haven't been disappointed once. I go here about once a month. It is usually busy. Good service and ambiance, but meh~ food. Lamb was a little undercooked for the requested medium. Green curry was didn't taste like green curry. Maybe I should have seen the warning sign when green curry came out yellow. Pad thai had what can only be described as a weak sauce and ended up tasting greasy. I have a feeling the chef didn't have a lot of exposure to authentic thai cuisine. If you go in without any expectation for thai food, I think you will be alright.

Thai Basil is a well-known bistro in Sacramento, CA, offering classic Thai dishes and handcrafted cocktails in an inviting setting. The restaurant's interior is adorned with folk art from Thailand, creating a relaxing atmosphere. Chef Suleka Sununsangthong draws inspiration from annual trips to Thailand and incorporates local seasonal ingredients into traditional recipes. The menu features a variety of authentic Thai dishes including curries, noodles, house specials, and desserts.
I really liked the food here! Came out quick and our waiter was awesome. We came our labor day and there was one guy running the entire floor. He was doing an amazing job. We got the Pad Ki Mow and the chicken skewers. Our food was very fresh and very tasty!
Megan W — Google review
Very nice plating but mediocre food. Flavors didn't quite mesh together. Drinks (thai tea + coffee) were also too sweet and bland, tasting mostly of sugar. Restaurant can feel a little cramped, but vibes were otherwise acceptable. Would only come back for the vegan options, everything else was unimpressive.
Jessica C — Google review
The environment was clean and quiet. My family and I had a good time there since we could sit comfortably and have adequate privacy to chat. The waitress was friendly and patient. The restroom, what I care most, was clean. LOL. We ordered Green and Yellow curry, and we gladly ordered rice for the curry. Please don't miss the rice; otherwise you will regret not having it. Fried rice was awesome, and I mean it as being a person of having fried rice background culturally. Don't forget to go next door, Ginger Elizabeth, for dessert.

Tucked away in Midtown Sacramento is an absolute gem of a Thai restaurant that hits every note just right. We were lucky enough to have Reesie as our server—she was friendly, informative, and made the experience even more enjoyable. I had the Pad See Ew—perfectly wok-fried flat rice noodles with tender chicken, broccoli florets, and egg in a rich sweet soy sauce. The noodles were cooked to perfection: soft yet chewy with that unmistakable smoky flavor you only get from a hot wok. This dish hit the spot—sweet, savory, comforting, and deeply satisfying. We also shared the Krapow Kaidow Bento Box—a street food-inspired lunch featuring minced chicken sautéed in spicy garlic soy sauce with green beans, peppers, Thai basil, and topped with a crispy fried egg. It came with salad, blanched veggies, rice, and an appetizer. Everything was incredibly fresh—from the jasmine rice to the crisp vegetables. You can tell there’s real care and skill behind the scenes in the kitchen. And yes, I did a little deep dive on the hot sauces too! They’ve got the usual red chili Sriracha-style sauce, a tangy red pepper blend, and my favorite: the house fish sauce with chopped fresh Thai chilis, garlic, and maybe a hint of soy and ginger—classic Southeast Asian flavor bomb. We sat outside, and on a beautiful day like today, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy your meal. The patio is peaceful and dog-friendly—they even had water bowls out for the pups. I’m not sure what it’s like on a rainy day, but when the sun’s shining, this place is a real vibe. #MidtownSacEats #ThaiFoodLove #FoodieFinds #SacramentoEats #PadSeeEw #BentoBoxBliss #SupportLocal #DogFriendlyDining #OutdoorVibes #WokThisWay #FreshAndFlavorful

I ordered a papaya salad to go for about $15 and asked for medium spice. It had zero spice and the portion was ridiculously small. The papaya itself tasted old and watery, with a sour, off smell that made it inedible. When I called to ask for a refund or a remake and offered to bring the food and receipt back, the owner was extremely rude. She was short, kept cutting me off, and refused to help in any way. She showed no concern for the quality of the food or the experience. The food was gross and not safe to eat, and the customer service was unacceptable. I will never order from this place again and strongly recommend avoiding it.

The guys who cook at nights on Wednesday does not have good quality control, sometimes it’s too much milk other times it’s not enough milk and other times has no flavor and only taste like coconut milk …. I’ve grown to know who cooks better there and go when they are cooking because I know it will amazing. Today’s cook was disappointing :( The best yellow curry I’ve had in Sacramento. Full of flavor, I could drink the soup alone. Amazing !!! I have no words. Absolutely breathtakingly good.

Quality and freshness are expressed through the food here at Thai Basil. The prices are high compared to other spots but the food is very tasty. It’s clean and delicious and not oily for Thai food. You get a nice taste of umami and I’ll keep returning to eat here.

Thank you Noi for a wonderful meal. Tried the crispy tofu with cashews at Thai Basil today. This dish was amazing! The presentation was beautiful and I could not wait to try it. The dish had just the right level of heat and spices which created a wonderful flavor. The tofu kept it's light crip texture even though it had this delightful sauce on top of it. The cashews, vegetables, onions and chopped dried red chilies really made a well balanced dish. Truly delicious. Noi, keep working your culinary magic.

Danielle's Crêperie is a relaxed French-American cafe that offers a diverse menu of soups, sandwiches, crepes, and wines in a warm and inviting atmosphere. Whether you're craving something familiar or looking for a unique dining experience, this café has it all. They even have options for those with specific dietary needs. The service is efficient despite the busy brunch time crowd, and both indoor and outdoor seating are available.
Seeing eggs benedict on the menu I decided to swing by this pristine little restaurant for brunch with a friend. We were seated immediately and ordered in no time at all thanks to the fantastic servers. The food was delicious and disappeared as quickly as the time while we enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere. I got the Florentine eggs benedict and my friend got French toast. If you're in the area come check this restaurant out and enjoy any number of specially prepared dishes. And if you're in the mood for art there is an entire wall like a gallery display.

It was fine. The service was good. But out of four people, not one of us liked our meals. I had a savory crepe with sausage, egg, and onions, but it was absolutely packed with onions, a tiny bit of egg, and the sausage had very little flavor to offset it.

It's alright! I had the French onion soup and a savory crepe with mushrooms and spinach, and it tasted good but I wasn't blown away. I feel like the soup is a little too salty and the crepe was a bit under seasoned, but maybe it was just not their best crepe...

Our server, Kathy, was excellent! All the things that you need a good server to be. Warm, friendly, very detailed oriented, (don't know how she keeps all that stuff straight in her mind), and meant our needs no matter what it was. Such as, we needed photos. She did a great job. Had breakfast here on a Tuesday, it was pretty empty. The atmosphere is plain, nothing special. Outside seating seemed nice. Servers were kind and attentive, so no complaints there. Food: 1. Gluten free avocado crepe - opted for no sour cream - very dry, was offered a salsa but salsa was also dry. Mushrooms, tomato, avocado, cheese. 2. Daily scramble - scrambled eggs, ham, potatoes and toast - hard to mess this up - only thing was that the ham was dry 3. Chocolate Raspberry crepe - gluten free - was delicious. Would we come back? Its a bit far from our house, so no, but we can say we tried it.

Professional but friendly staff, exceptional in our opinion. There were 9 of us and food came together, could have been warmer but all was very good. The Coq Breton crepe keeps me coming back and never disappoints. My party also enjoyed the chicken corn chowder (soup of the day) and the eggs Benedict crepe (served all day!). We finished with dessert crepes, but was a bit disappointed with the lemon and sugar crepe as it seemed to be completely missing the sugar. Had to ask for powdered sugar to be added and, even then, felt it was necessary to add some of the sugar at the table. But the Nutella crepe with strawberries was a hit!

Magpie Café, located on R Street, is a local favorite known for its industrial-chic ambiance and seasonal New American cuisine. Established in 2009, this casual restaurant offers innovative menus that change frequently due to their focus on using locally sourced ingredients. The café serves lunch and dinner with standout dishes like Vietnamese steak salad and summer risotto. While currently offering limited hours and takeout options, they have added in-house delivery and online ordering at their Midtown location.
There were so many delicious sounding options on the menu. Everyone in our party of five found it difficult to decide. We will definitely be back.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Magpie in downtown Sac, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish! The highlight of my meal was the perfectly cooked chicken. It was tender, juicy, and seasoned to perfection, making every bite a true delight. Accompanied by seasonal vegetables, each ingredient was fresh and vibrant, showcasing the best of what the season has to offer. The combination of flavors was beautifully balanced, creating a dish that was both satisfying and delicious 😋 To complement my meal, I ordered a Lemon Drop beverage, and it did not disappoint! It was incredibly refreshing and added a delightful twist to my dining experience. Overall, my time at Magpie was remarkable. I left feeling completely satisfied and eager to return. Went out for a dinner date without a plan. Showed up 30 mins before closing and asked if they would still serve us. Generously, they said of course. We ordered our food right away to help the kitchen, but the staff didn't rush us at all. A bottle of crémant + 4 small plates was perfect to share. Pork belly with sticky candy sauce and frizee apple salad was the star of the show. First time outside of Asia that I had perfectly-cooked pork belly: the fatty bits were liquid hot and made the meat crisp outside and juicy inside. Veggie tempura was a generous portion of crunchy green onion, chile guero and asparagus. We also had lamb meatballs and one arancine. We moved to the bar and they let us stay pretty late talking over our bottle. Thanks to everyone's gracious attitude it was a lovely evening. Impressed with the service.

Magpie has quickly become one of my go-to spots in Sacramento. It’s the perfect mix of casual charm and fine dining quality. The food always feels thoughtful and fresh - you can tell they care deeply about sourcing local ingredients. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich on my last visit, and it was out of this world: crispy, juicy, and full of flavor, paired with sides that were just as memorable. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere felt relaxed but still polished. It’s the kind of place that works equally well for a casual lunch or a special dinner. Sacramento wouldn’t be the same without Magpie.

Wonderful location on 16th ave in Sacramento. Across from a park and the neighborhood is very lively. The restaurant is adorable with a lovely outdoor seating area. We had crab salad with grapefruit. It was fresh and delicious. The BLT…oh my! So so good. They used sundried tomatoes and a caper/mayonnaise. The bread was delicious. The sandwich…just wow!!! Definitely recommend. We started with their hummus…which was garlicky and delicious and had a custard and the carrot cake cookie for dessert. Everything was really really good. Our waitress was fantastic!! What a wonderful dining experience. We will be back for sure!! Thankyou!!

Their Stone Fruit & Burrata was to die for. We had that, the Bread & Hummus, and split a shrimp salad. Between the 2 of us, we were stuffed! Excellent, fresh food and flavor combinations I couldn't make myself. The drinks were very tasty and I think I had one too many. I'll be back!

A perfect spot for treating yourself to a delicious and fancy meal! It's a bit pricy but for a good reason. I had the Sauteed Jimmy Nardello peppers and the Home Made Pasta with Crispy Pork Belly and was happy with both. The peppers were sweet, had a good sear, and were topped with a flavorful (but not overpowering) garlic sauce. The Pasta had a lot going on, but had a good cohesive flavor. Maybe my one small criticism is that there's too few pork pieces for its flavor to be noticeable. It gets drowned out by the sauce, which is creamy and delicious don't get me wrong, but a little more pork would've been nice. The interior is cozy and has a warm atmosphere! The patio also looks nice but it was a bit too warm in the afternoon. Would love to come back and try their other dishes

I am not easily pleased or impressed; this place far exceeded my expectations.. I've seen it for years but tonight was my first time dining here. They told me they've been in business 37 years and there are several reasons why... 1. The food was wonderful. Possibly the best enchilada with red sauce that I've ever had and I'm a bit of an aficionado 2. They have whole beans which is great for us vegetarians 3. Service was fantastic and the staff was so welcoming, despite every table being filled, since it was a Saturday night 4. They have a full bar and although I didn't partake tonight I believe I'll enjoy this offering in the future 5. They have a great patio when it warms up and a party room for special festivities. As a bonus, I also learned they have Taco Tuesday. I will definitely keep this place on a frequent repeat ♥️

Probably great for dine in. Ordered take out - I know the delivery services up charge the menu, but I was still surprised this reached $30 (with coupon, before delivery taxes or tip). The mole sauce was nice, but I wouldn’t order delivery again, as the plate didn’t come dressed with the standard fixings.

I ordered me a chicken burrito & a beef burrito for my family member. Both burritos were cold, shells were dry and both lacked flavor. The burrito was called My Son's favorite but definitely not a favorite of miine. Don't waste your money. On a positive note the service was good and the place clean.

The food tasted excellent, but do NOT get a margarita here. Not only was there hardly any liquor in it at all, but I strongly suspect it was Cuervo pseudo-tequila. They charge over $14 for this atrocity. That alone made me quite angry. Then, delicious as it was, when I got home, I was sent repeatedly, urgently to the toilet. I suspect they failed to rinse all the detergent fully out of something and I got dosed with it. Finally, the air conditioning was out, which while highly authentic, was very uncomfortable and made me wish we had just gone somewhere else. In the past we have really liked this place, and I hope this visit was a fluke. One more experience like that, and it will be our last.

The atmosphere is lively and inviting, making it the perfect spot to enjoy a meal with friends or family.
We came here once for dim sum and once for dinner. Both were very enjoyable. I tried the Peking duck which I have I award an “A”, the skins nice and crispy and the flavorful is super savory, the meat was super tender. Very very good. One of the best Peking ducks I’ve had. I the dunegeoness crab was also delicious with the ginger and green onion, I think there is some yummy Chinese wine used for cooking it, it comes with the crab cut and smashed for you and in a sauce of your choosing.

Pretty nice dim sum restaurant in the area of a decent selection. They were on the Michelin guide and some media press not just a few years ago! It's all impressive considering what looks to be a former Olive garden! Service is nice and ordering is done through a menu that you fill out and will be brought out to you once the order is ready.

This Chinese restaurant in Sacramento truly lives up to its reputation — one of the rare authentic gems of Chinese cuisine in the U.S. The flavors were delicious, and the dishes were clearly made with care, making the overall experience very satisfying. That said, a few small details could be improved: the shrimp dumpling skin could be a bit more springy, the egg tart baked with slightly more fire, and the siu mai filling refined further to reduce the gamey taste. Still, it’s a wonderful restaurant that I would definitely recommend, and I look forward to coming back to try an even better version in the future.

In Sacramento’s heart so bright, Yue Huang glows in golden light. A temple where the flavors blend, And joy and comfort never end. Salt and pepper fish divine, Crisp and tender — pure design. Garlic rain and chili’s kiss, A taste no soul should ever miss. Noodles shimmer, thin as song, Shrimp and spice both dance along. Sweet fire chicken, rich and bold, A story told in red and gold. Fried rice hums with wok’s embrace, Shrimp and pork in seasoned grace. Each bite a note, each sip a rhyme, A taste that lingers past its time. Raise your cup, let hearts belong, To flavors deep, to friendship strong. Five shining stars, no less will do — Yue Huang, our praise to you. 🌸 ChatGPT can make mistakes. Che

A restaurant I visited again. I think it was a better memory than the last time I visited. The service was still fast, there were many customers, and the atmosphere was lively. I was especially satisfied with the cleanliness of the restroom this time. I would like to visit again if I have the chance.

Definitely not the best dim sum for a Michelin-rated restaurant, but the other dishes aren’t bad. Worth trying if you’re curious—just manage your expectations.
AD — Google review
We had a group of 7 for dim sum lunch on a Sunday. A very busy place but wait’s weren’t too long. Service was reasonably fast Congo’s busy they were. We ordered 13 different items plus tea, most items we ordered two of so everyone could have a taste, which was plenty for us. You mark what you want on the menu they provide to the table. Roast duck wasn’t worth the effort, too many bones. Broccoli with oyster sauce was ok but not exciting. Pork potstickers were great. Steam shrimp rice roll was tasty but some didn’t like the gooey texture. Fried seafood roll was one of the best. Eggplant with shrimp paste was good. I wouldn’t order Shanghai meat dumplings again, unexciting. Shrimp and chive dumplings were good. Sticky rice in lotus leaf was very tasty. Shrimp dumplings were very good. Siu mai were FANTASTIC! Price was high but reasonable for what we got.

Came for dinner while we were on vacation. It has a pretty decent review for a Chinese restaurant so we decided to try it. Their website says that they have dimsum everyday so we assumed all day. When we got there there was a sign on the front counter that "No dimsum today." Pretty disappointing! But it's ok we could try their other dishes. So we ordered their combination seafood chow mien and their chef barbecue combo of crispy roast pork and white chicken. The pork was tough, dry and looked like it was sitting in the kitchen that morning. Chef didn't even care to re-heat at the least. The chicken was all bones. The noodle dish was just ok and the tea was not free. It was a let down. There were 2 other people dining aside from us. The place was big but very dated. The furniture was old and dirty. It was not worth the price.

Thai Spoon Restaurant is a contemporary strip-mall establishment that offers ample portions of traditional Thai cuisine, including options for vegetarians. Customers rave about their delectable dishes like the zesty beef salad, fiery chicken wings, and classic pad thai. Patrons consistently have positive dining experiences here, never encountering a disappointing meal. The restaurant's expertise lies in preparing generous servings of tenderly cooked meat that leave taste buds in ecstasy.
★★★★★ Five Stars – An Absolute Gem in Sacramento! Thai Spoon is hands down one of the best Thai restaurants in Sacramento — an absolute must-visit! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy, inviting atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. Every dish we tried was bursting with authentic flavor and made with care. The Pad Thai was perfectly balanced, the green curry rich and aromatic, and the mango sticky rice? Simply unforgettable! You can taste the quality in every bite. The service is exceptional — friendly, fast, and genuinely welcoming. Whether you’re dining in or taking out, they make sure you’re well taken care of. Honorary mention to the entire staff and kitchen — you’re doing an extraordinary job! If you live in Sacramento and haven’t been to Thai Spoon yet, you’re seriously missing out. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for delicious food, great service, and a five-star dining experience. This place deserves all the praise!

We posted ordered our food to go and I told them 3 stars medium spicy. When I got home, I think they dumped the entire chili bottle in the dishes. Now I eat very spicy food, but this was unbearable. It was so spicy hot that we couldn't eat the food and it ended up in the garbage. Instead of medium spicy they gave us extra hot. Both dishes were so red from the chili. That's not what medium spice level should be. It cost us $50 & it went in the garbage. Plus it was supposed to be mostly vegetable dishes with chicken and it contained mostly chicken with hardly any vegetables. It was not what I expected. If I was close by, I would have returned it.
Ragni S — Google review
We ordered pineapple fried rice with beef and pad thai with chicken. Both dishes tasted just okay — the beef and chicken were tough and seemed overcooked. The portions were generous, and the restaurant itself was spacious, but overall the food and experience felt pretty average. On a positive note, the staff service was friendly and fast. The plaza has plenty of parking, though the spaces are quite compact.
Yoke A — Google review
The service was good, thier prices and portions are reasonable, but the table was a bit sticky, and the food wasn’t that great. Lacked coconut milk flavor for Panang curry. (it was quite thick but missing the scent and taste of coconut milk), and it was very salty for our taste. Their pad see ew was the sweetest I’ve ever had. We tried the boat noodle, but the flavor wasn't to my taste. Thai dumplings were okay, their chili paste/sauce (on the table) wasn't spicy enough but pretty good.
JJiNNieE L — Google review
I couldn’t taste other Thai flavors except being salty especially drunken noodles. Or just drenched in fish sauce Disappointed. Came here based on google reviews but very disappointed.
Satsuki H — Google review
An unassuming Thai restaurant that serves delicious food. I cannot stress how good their drunken noodles and fried tofu are. Would also highly recommend their coconut ice cream that is so rich in flavor. Their fried bananas though are on the more expensive side and we didn't like the way they were fried. Their Tom Kha soup is well worth it and a small one is enough to satisfy 3 people. Their Pad Thai is a little on the sweeter side and watch out for spice. While all "spicy" items are marked with a double asterisk, there are varying levels, so make sure to ask before ordering, especially their Som Tum salad. The staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, providing lots of information. The restaurant layout is perfect for larger groups (6+). Food is prepared rapidly and since it's in a mall, there's plenty of parking.

My love for Thai food brought me to this quaint little restaurant with my family for lunch. The place had a very casual laid back environment and our server, Tiffany, was really sweet and friendly. We ordered the vegan Summer roll, vegan Drunken noodles, Garlic tofu Fried rice, and the Thai Green Curry, also vegan. The food came out quick and it was delicious. Everything tasted great, especially the drunken noodles stole the show. The ingredients were so fresh and thats what I love about thai food is you get so many vegan options🌱 Really happy with the visit and will recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for healthy and vegan asian options in the city.

Came here for a quick stop and enjoyed the experience! They weren't crowded at all on a Thursday afternoon when we got in. Good: - I got a khao soi dish and also a tom kha soup - I liked the tom kha more since the Khao soi had a weird after taste - Papaya salad was good and sweet and savory - The portion sizes were large - Prices were very reasonable for lunch and the amount of food we got Bad: - The place was a little cramped and the seats weren't super fancy - The place took a while to get food out - Very casual place Overall nice for a road trip but wouldn't come back.

Nestled in the heart of Natomas, Taqueria Rincon Alteño is a delightful family-owned gem that offers an impressive selection of Mexican cuisine. Known for its mouthwatering tacos and burritos, this taqueria has become a local favorite thanks to its quick service and friendly staff. The inviting atmosphere features a clean and organized space where you can enjoy your meal either on-site or take it to go.
This was my first time trying this place, and I can confidently say the positive reviews are well-deserved. The restaurant was exceptionally clean—staff were actively tidying even though everything already looked spotless. I ordered the chicken chimichanga, which was absolutely delicious. The chicken was flavorful and well-seasoned, and the portion size was very good as well. My partner had the crispy chicken tacos, which were also excellent—the chicken was tasty, and the cheese was perfectly melted. The salsa at the salsa bar stood out. Overall, a great experience. We’ll definitely be coming back.

My family and I had breakfast at this joint this morning. Cashier was very friendly. We found plenty of parking. They have an accessible ramp for people with wheelchairs, so that’s good. The food was honestly average and not what we expected based on the reviews. We got a Pastor Super Burrito, Pastor Super Nachos and Chicken Super Nachos. They offer chips at an additional price and they have a free salsa bar. The green salsa was good, but we did not like the rest of the salsas. I didn’t like the fact they charge you an additional fee to get chips when most restaurants include the chips on the cost of the food they serve. I feel like you are nickel-and-dimeing people when you do that.
Oscar S — Google review
The menudo was okay, the enchiladas were good, and everything was fine. I think the worst part about this experience is I felt like I was eating at a gas station. If I'm paying 20 for a plate, I want more than plastic plates, plastic forks, and plastic salsa holders. I understand why restaurants do it. It just communicates they don't care about our health or how their presentation looks. Styrofoam for beans and rice? Come on.
Pedro L — Google review
Food, service and atmosphere are all 5 stars. I am giving an overall rating of 3 stars because of the significant price increase. Steak ranchero is now $22.36 and with a soda and tips on top, it is over $30 for a meal. Looking back at the prices a year ago. The same dinner plate was just over $19. So I won't be back again for a while.

Most Mexican spots are pretty average, nothing too good or bad, but this location is amazing! The salsa bar offers about 6/7 different sauces and each one was delicious! Great value for the quality of food, must try if you're in the area looking for a good quick Mexican bite

We ordered the House Special Chow Mein, fried rice, and orange chicken. Everything was absolutely delicious! The flavors were spot on, and the portions were generous. We’re super excited to come back and try more items from their menu. Definitely a new favorite!

I visit many Chinese restaurants over the years and this one is great so far. For my first time here there’s pros and no cons. Pros Nice AC Clean place Plenty of seats Delicious food and generous portions of Broccoli beef. Very low prices. Great quality food for the price. Free tea and soup No visible cons so far. I highly recommend this place based on my current experience.

I took my wife out to Shanghai after work…I don’t give too many five stars… But I’m gonna give this place a five star! If it has 6789 or 10 I’ll give them that too. The service was great and the food was phenomenal. The sweet-and-sour pork was the best I’ve ever had. It was crunchy and tender, and the sauce was immaculate. The appetizers are boomin! The spring rolls, the prawns, the teriyaki beef, crab wonton excellent. The sweet-and-sour soup extraordinary. I can’t say enough about this place. We found a new after church restaurant. The restaurant is very quaint quiet and the bathrooms are super clean. Try this out.

Everything was made to order and piping hot. Good lunch deals. Generous portions. Order their salt and pepper shrimp if you like a puffy batter. They’re appetizer fried prawns are the frozen panko kind. This place is a part of my “puffy shrimp gang” series. I’ve been looking for the puffy pupu platter style fried prawns that I grew up with in the 80s and 90s that are getting harder and harder to find. Most of the Chinese restaurants now prefer the shrimp with the head and shell. Which is also good! But, nothing hits like a puffy battered shrimp.

Really good value for price, the portions are huge! And the food was delicious & authentic. We got the China Dinner for 2, which was $20/pp and had us carrying 3 boxes of of leftovers home. Nice cozy atmosphere in the evening!

My husband and I went for dinner, it was our first time. I have to say that this is by far the best Chinese restaurant we've been to in decades. The food is delicious and the staff is very friendly. They have a big menu and great dinner plate prices. This will now be our new go to spot.

The is cozy Chinese restaurant in East Sac across McKinley Park. I’ve been here for both dine-in and take out. The restaurant is clean and has plenty of seating for a large group if needed. Doesn’t take long to be seated or have your order taken. The staff have been nice and the food has been tasty. Recently I got the Fish with Salt and Pepper to go and in my opinion you can get more food for a cheaper price at other places. I don’t think this restaurant is bad at all or “not worth it”, I just think if you are willing to go a bit further to a different restaurant you can get a better deal. I’d suggest checking them out. I really like their wonton soup - the wontons were flavorful and I liked the inclusion of the veggies.

The food was disappointing. Rice cakes were ok due to different toppings. The fish sauce was bland and wasn’t spicy and no taste of fish sauce. The pork spring roll was also bland. They out a lot of red color in the meat and the peanut sauce…I can’t even taste the peanut. Just very bland. The egg rolls was mushy inside and it has a weird smell. The shrimp rolls was ok since it was just shrimp and crispy wrappers outside.

Ordered Banh mi with beef pho. Although I always go for the Pho Dac Biet where I can find it, the beef pho with meat balls was still good without the tripe and tendon. I also loved that the rice noodles consistency. Banh mi was yummy with plenty of grilled pork and fresh ingredients. Had to snap a pic of all the goodness inside. Dining space was a little small but definitely coming back! With cold weather and seasonal depression on the way, a nice warm bowl of pho is the way to go!

Ordered the chicken vermicelli bowl. The chicken definitely was off. I've eaten this dish at Vietnamese spots all over CA and I've never had it taste like this. Clearly something was wrong with the meat. I informed our server very politely telling him it tasted sour and off. He said thanks and he'd let the chef know. No offer to remover the item from our bill, didn't even take the bowl from our table despite the fact I clearly was not eating it anymore. I wouldn't go back.

I order out on the phone, and they we're so helpful and patience while i was looking at the menu and asking questions. The chicken pho is good not the best but the broth is so amazing I even order extra. The chicken bahn mi was really tasty, i usually go to south sac but this is a deal. A sandwhich and drink for $10 😃 Will return for the spicy chicken wings =) Bring cash (discount) and help midtown sac restaurant. I did return to wings and bahn mi. Wings are great make sure you great sauce though. But again the bahn mi was super salty i couldn't finish it. However i do cook little salt. Try it out sactown!

Traveling from North Dakota and was really wanting twice cooked pork. This restaurant popped up as number one in the area for it. The meal was excellent. The server was very attentive and explained the process for dining there as I had not been to a similar establishment before. She explained different items on the menu and even gave me delicious recommendations. I enjoyed the experience. I loved the ambiance and how nicely decorated the restaurant was for events. I definitely will return. If you like spice I recommend stopping by and trying their twice cooked pork!

This is the first time I have had my dim sum breakfast at the New Happy Garden in a few years. The service has significantly improved from a couple of years ago. They have very fast service and many dim sum carts to move the fresh dim sum around in front of all the tables. Most of the workers here can speak English. All four of us fixed our dim sum addiction in half an hour. The qualities of the dim sum are okay, but nothing is stand out. The dining room is a little dated. But I think I’ll be back due to their speedy service.

Welcome to the wonderful world of "Dim Sum." You walked into a very open and spacious place. Bustling with private conversations, servers and subtle noise from cutlery. New Happy Garden is a Cantonese Chinese restaurant. The theme here is patrons sit at their tables and servers wheel about trolleys containing small plates of Chinese dishes. From vegetable entrées, fish, shrimp to beef. Each time to request a dish it is added to your bill. When you are finnish, the pay the server.

Came here for dim sum with my mom and her friends, and this might be my new dim sum spot in Sac! Everything tasted so fresh, and so good in general!!! My favorite was definitely the rice roll with some crispy doughnut? inside (I believe it's called golden roll but not sure). Usually when I order this dish as other places it's just the doughnut in the rice roll with some soy sauce, but Happy Garden adds fresh cilantro to it making each bite so flavorful and aromatic. I basically inhaled half the dish to myself! Service was great, the cart ladies kept coming to check if everything was good and wanted anything. You can also order whatever you want from the menu that the carts might not have! The restaurant is HUGE and has plenty of seating, I loved that I didnt have to wait and was able to just stay as long as I want listening to my aunties gossip! Definitely recommend coming here for dim sum, and will come back for dinner sometime :)

Enjoy drink lots of tea🍵 😉

I experienced this twice so i have to write the feedback to let more people know. Be careful and review your sheet on the table. They gave us 6 dishes but marked 8 dishes on the sheet and will charge us based on the sheet. We caught it and told them to correct the sheet. The waitress was asking “you probably finished one dish and removed?” From that question, i could tell this is not a mistake but they have been doing that intentionally, because we just sit down at the table 3 minutes ago and then got the 6 dishes. We just started eating and almost all of the 6 dishes were still full. We ended up paying the billd, after tax and tips, $80. If we didn’t catch, we would pay $100+ . So be very careful when you go there, they earn a lot of money that they don’t deserve and many customers probably already paid for the dishes that they didn’t even eat.

7/28/24 new finding: the restaurant charged "15 mgmt fee" to the bill equals to 15% of the food price for our table of 4 without telling us. Rice Noodles is a cozy Vietnamese restaurant with a simple yet inviting ambiance. The menu features an array of rice and noodle dishes, including the vegetarian pho that boasts impressive flavors and fresh ingredients. Despite the unassuming appearance, the service is quick and efficient, with attentive staff ensuring a pleasant dining experience. The taste is average, but the prices are lower compared to other pho restaurants, and the portions are generous. However, they offer a wide variety of menu items. Before the pandemic, it was quite a popular spot, but the quality has dropped a bit since the ownership changed. Still, the reasonable portions and affordable prices make it a place I visit occasionally. If you go early for lunch, there aren't many customers, so you can enjoy a quiet meal.

Just ordered the #12 pho to go. I am very impressed with the food and speed of service. The broth had a rich, savory flavor that wasn't too salty. As you can see from the photos, they were very generous with the vegetables and meat ready to drop in and mix with the broth. Lucky for me, the office had a large bowl to create this lunch feast. The bean sprouts were nice and crispy and the basil had a fresh, just picked flavor. They don't have different sizes like they do at pho restaurants on Stockton Blvd., but for the portion size, $12.50 is more than fair.

Nestled at the corner of 21st and P, Tea Cup Cafe is a delightful spot that invites diners to explore an array of flavors. This charming eatery stands out in a vibrant culinary scene filled with diverse options, from traditional banh mi to comforting Chinese dishes. The atmosphere encourages patrons to savor their meals on-site rather than opting for takeout, ensuring every bite is fresh and delicious.
In a nutshell; has one of the best egg tarts I've ever had in recent times, good food overall Parking is a pain though considering it is downtown area, they have a small lot for parking next to the building but I'm sure that may get filled up in busy times. The food, dim sum, and egg tarts were all great. Servers were all accommodating. Place has a lot of tables and can sit a number of parties. Designed like most dimsum places. Overall great experience.
Sly C — Google review
Tasty salt + pepper green beans with fried chiles. BBQ pork and orange chicken were decent. Jiaozi dough kind of thick but filling and sauce were nice. I ordered takeaway on a Thursday. I didn't get the $5.50 dim sum prices on any of the dishes. I wish they gave an itemized receipt. Maybe it's only dim sum if you eat-in? I'll try again next time before I make a final decision.

Been coming here since I was a kid, always a solid place for lunch with friends, family, or guests. The egg tarts are delicious and there's even a fish tank with goldfish for the kids to look at!

Food is authentic and delicious. Price is reasonable. Interior is clean and cozy. If you like Cantonese dim sum, this is the place to go.

My favorite lunch spot during my internship in the late 90s. The owner has changed but the taste and wok flavor is still the same. ❤️
Janet S — Google review
No yall aren’t getting it… this place is operating on another level. Beef chow fun is not to be messed with and these folks killed it. Pork dumps and shrimp dumps will have me coming back. And, FOR ME, the stroke of genius was the broccoli with oyster sauce. A favorite dish in general, but the broccoli leaves were especially saucy and delicious. You need to be eating here. Tea Cup Cafe… yeah, light the beam babes. It’s so good.

Delicious food and great service! The flavors were authentic, portions were generous, and everything came out hot and fresh. The staff was attentive without being pushy, and the atmosphere made it easy to relax and enjoy the meal. Definitely a place I’d come back to for quality Chinese cuisine.
Melanie S — Google review
Most dim sum places we've been to in HCOL areas, $5.50 would be a modest small dish with some morsels on the small side. When the food here arrived here, not only were they high quality (below for details), the portion sizes were eye bogglingly large by our standards. Also considering what some other restaurants in this city charge for dishes, the dim sum here and insane value. We had ordered something like 8 dishes because that would have been one meal for two where we've been, so we ended up taking back three boxes! Some of the dishes didn't qualify for the Mon-Thur discount, I'm not sure how it works, but even so, it feels like everything is heavily underpriced for the quantity, quality, ambience, and service. The same size dishes would be at LEAST double what we were charged here. The turnip cakes were huge - perfectly seared and crispy on the surface and turnipy and soft inside. The potstickers were two of the biggest potstickers I've seen. Like empanadas basically. The two alone would be great for a single meal imo. Because they were so big, the breading was a bit thicker, but that made the ratio perfect bc it's a giant meatball inside. The salt and pepper squid was not too salty per another review - perhaps they saw the review bc it actually seemed a bit undersalted, which was fine because there were plenty of dipping sauces provided from all of the dishes. The sweet meat "bbq pork" and green beans were top notch, and I really wished I had the appetite to have more of the sesame balls while they were fresh because it is best that way - shell so perfectly crispy crunchy and mochi/sweet red bean paste inside. I have had better soup dumplings (at more specialized soup dumpling places), but the ones here were good too, just not the star of the show. I can't speak to how these same dishes would taste via take out, particularly the fried foods that do not transport well in closed boxes. They also serve chrysanthemum tea if you do not want caffeine late night, which I appreciated. Atmosphere is good. Not linen napkin fine dining, but tastefully decorated and well within what you'd expect at this price point. They have large tables for bigger groups as well. The silken Chinese embroidery artwork on the far wall is worth a peek if there aren't diners under it - even the calligraphy is embroidered (pics below)! Loved this place, great value for excellent food and friendly service.

Yang's Noodles is a small, informal restaurant in South Sacramento that specializes in Chinese food. The menu features dishes such as beef noodle soup and kinked noodles, all of which are delicious. The restaurant also offers Taiwanese and Sichuan favorites, like green onion pancakes and dan dan mien. Delivery and catering are also available.
Amazing dumplings and pretty good beef noodle soup. The place is really well run and the staff are very friendly. The decor is old but the food is fantastic. It was ready really quickly. Great food for winter time especially the soups.
Khurram H — Google review
Seems like they switched owners 6mo ago (read recent reviews) and kept the name because it had 4+ stars. Restaurant is now a shadow of its past and the chef tried to keep the original menu items but they dont do handcut noodles or the beef roll anymore. If you view the menu its just another generic chinese restaurant using someone elses name. Menu is different and no longer has the pictures which confirms it. If you want taiwanese, go somewhere else
Bryan N — Google review
Update as of 2/7/22: they are very shortstaffed (probably due to COVID) and are not serving handmade noodles. However, they are open for dine in! They were take out only for the longest time when the pandemic first hit. I ordered the Xiao long bao, beef noodle soup, and braised pork over rice. THE BRAISED PORK OVER RICE IS SO DELICIOUS. I got 2 little bok choy halves on the dish as well as a boiled brown egg. The flavor was just amazing and I wolfed it down. The beef noodle soup was also pretty good, but not the best that I've had. There is a very mild kick to it but it is not spicy (I can't handle spice and I was able to eat it no problem.) I do think the soup lacked some extra spice? The Xiao long bao was not very good in my opinion. The soup itself inside the dumplings was a little bland and I think the dumplings lacked onions or chives or something to add to the flavor. The vinegar was also very mild with no ginger added. I was seated immediately and service was very fast. The toilets are not open to public FYI. The indoor decorations are very nonassuming and modest. Prices are a little high for what is actually on the dish, but to be honest there are not that many Taiwanese places around here and they might have needed to raise their prices to stay open. Support small businesses everyone! Yang's has been around for a while and it would be sad to see them go. 4 stars for braised pork and beef noodle soup and excellent, rapid service.
Deanna C — Google review
If you come here make sure to order the beef noodle soup and the beef roll. The hand pulled noodle were really fresh and the beef roll pancake was delicious. You can order the Xiao Long Bao here if you one with lots of filling and not as much soup.
Marbo C — Google review
Beef roll, wontons in chili oil (have had much better) this time. Their beef noodles are really good as well as the noodles with meat sauce (dry noodles with ground meat mixture) and cucumbers. I remember their wontons in chili oil tasting much better before. We always end up stoping by once in a while regardless.

I’ve been to this restaurant couple of times and I had pretty good experience with them. Food was tasty and service was good too. However, I ordered to go this time, the food is definitely taste WAY DIFFERENT than what I had before, especially this marinated potato dish. The first time I had it it tasted crunchy and yummy but this time, totally opposite. It tasted soggy and I felt like they marinated for couple of days. Very disappointed!!
Sarah Z — Google review
So, to start off! The texture of the hand pulled noodles is awesome! I wasn't sure if all the dishes were hand pulled, so I asked the waitress for their best dishes, she responded Beef Noodle Soup and Chow Mein! Now, everyone keeps mentioning the Beef Roll. It was definitely the STAR of the show! So delicious and flavorful! It's a rolled pastry like roll that was either fried or baked. The only disappointment were the soup dumplings, which were very bland and gooey. Even with the sauce, there wasn't too much flavor to be found. Would return to this place for the beef roll or the chow mein! And would want to try that beef noodle soup.

This was my first time eating here and it was very delicious. This will be added to one of my frequently visited spots in Natomas for Chinese food

The lady in the front is rude and inconsistent. Then she tried to tell my Ohana and I, what we like, not what we wanted. We ordered food, she told us we do not want that and "it won't taste good for your kind". I'm a 46yr old Man who has been to China, etc.. safe to say, I know what I like and what I do not like, same for my Ohana. In China many order Chow Fun with black bean sauce gravy wet.. in the States, we order chow mein with black bean sauce gravy. Never an issue, anywhere. This place has done it numerous times the past 3yrs. Last two times I went in, we were told that "you won't like it, so we won't make it", and "it won't taste good for your kind". Def will not be a patron ant longer. Went down the street and ordered with no issue. The young Man who took my order even asked if I been to China because of my order and how I ordered it.

We had takeaway, only vacation here from England to see family. Portions generous, but food very bland and over salted. Definitely not individually cooked as separate dishes, as sauce on the side. Very poor compared to Chinese food in England, both price and quality. For the $170 dollars we paid here for 4 of us, $50 of which was sales tax and tip( definitely not worth the tip,$23), i could have fed 8 people with decent Chinese food. Sorry but very disappointing

So nasty. I wouldn't recommend this Restraunt at all. Save your Money order elsewhere. Broccoli too tough to eat. Considering Beef and Broccoli. Chow Mein is greasy tasting. Along with the Chicken very greasy and not In a yummy greasy way. The Rice isn't too good. Bland and forgettable. A one time only for me.

Thai restaurant
Thai Princess Restaurant is a must-visit for those craving delicious and authentic Thai cuisine. The pad Thai is a standout dish with its perfect blend of crispy bean sprouts, crunchy peanuts, and well-textured rice noodles. Freshness shines through in the papaya salad and drunken noodles, with the shrimp being particularly fresh. The pineapple fried rice is flavorful and satisfying, although it could use more shrimp. The service is above average, with attentive staff ensuring a pleasant dining experience.
Food was good , service was a little above average. The hospitality was great though she was refilling our waters and asking if we were doing okay. We got the chicken satay which was a 9.5/10 , we got the thai chow mein w/ beef which was a 9/10, the pineapple fried rice w/ chicken was a 9/10 and the yellow curry w/ chicken was a 10/10 , and didn’t get a picture of the thai tea but it was an 11/10. Would recommend this place for sure, and excited to come back and try new items! Fyi: we shared this as a family of four and it costed $66 and it was almost not enough food for us so your looking at around $15 per person i guess.

Absolutely delicious food and the owner is very nice and considering switching to halal meat for their beef/chicken. Today they had halal chicken so I had their drunken noodles and it was one of the best drunken noodles I've ever had so if you're muslim and craving Thai, give them a call and they just might be serving halal that day :)
Talal J — Google review
If you’re driving to or from the airport or if you’re craving tasty Thai food, do yourself a favor and stop by. The pad Thai was what I believe to be very authentic. Crispy bean sprouts, crunchy peanuts, rice noodles with the perfect texture (if rice noodles could be Al dente), and the sauce was just the right amount, it wasn’t swimming in it and it wasn’t too dry. You could tell that the vegetables were fresh for both the papaya salad and the drunken noodles. The shrimp was also very fresh. I really enjoyed the honey ribs as well, sweet sauce with a hint of curry. The Tom yum soup wasn’t my fave, but I generally favor Tom Yum with heavy tomato flavoring. Still very tasty, the veggies were fresh, the mushrooms cleaned.

Great food! Just so tasty! We Had: Larb, sticky rice, fried rice, yellow curry, some other plates and everything was amazingly delicious! Should have come here before but wife said it did not have good reviews...not true!
Tomas G — Google review
Tried out this place for the first time. I got the Pork Belly stirfry or padkra pow and 2 cooked eggs. The pork belly was too over cooked and dry. I couldn't finish it because it felt like I was chewing on charcoal. The flavor was there though. They just need to fix that problem and it would be a hit dish. I know alot of restaurants precooked their pork belly for the day and just recook it in whatever dish they're going to make later on. But this piece I got just wasn't it. I've had this plate before at other restaurants and it was on point. I guess after you open up for awhile you start to get lazy with the cooking. Serving quantity over quality. I'll give it a try again some day and hopefully they fix that problem.

Thai princess spicy fried shrimp and chicken satay is to die for! Literally spectacular. I love those dishes and Thai tea! Awesome customer service! Fast service. Make sure to ask for a 2 in spiciness because ordering a 4 makes me cry lol! I only took away a star because one time it seemed like they gave me an old dish and reheated it for the spicy fried shrimp and sometimes they skimp on the shrimp.

The Basil Crispy Pork is ahhmmmaazzzing. The crab fried rice had so much crab. The papaya salad was a great balance of sweet and spicy.

Asian restaurant
Phở Xe Lua is a popular Vietnamese eatery located in Sacramento's Fruitridge Manor neighborhood. The restaurant offers a wide range of Vietnamese dishes, including rice bowls, noodle soups, salads, and banh mi. The star of the menu is the pho, featuring a light and aromatic broth with a clear beef flavor. While the pandemic has temporarily changed dining rituals, customers can still enjoy home-assembled noodle soup as a substitute.
Pho-nomenal Every Time! Phở Xe Lua is my go-to spot when I need a warm hug in a bowl. That broth? Pure magic, savory, steamy, and packed with flavor like it’s been simmering for days (because it probably has). The rare beef melts in your mouth, the noodles are always perfectly cooked, and the fresh herbs take it to the next level. The vibe is chill, the service is snappy, and they never skimp on portions, seriously, come hungry. Whether you're battling a cold, a hangover, or just life in general, this place has your back. 5/5 would slurp again.
Marty M — Google review
The pho broth was rich and flavorful, the noodles perfectly cooked, and the fresh herbs and condiments were well-balanced. The portion size was generous compared to other pho restaurants. The service was adequate, and the restaurant was reasonably clean. While I might not choose it for a first date, it's an excellent option for recovering from a hangover.
Tom C — Google review
One of the best phos I've had that tasted quite authentic. I highly recommend the ox tail rice noodle soup as it had a deep savory broth that will warm your soul. The broth here is very rich and not watered down at all. It still maintained a clear appearance without being too light. Would love to come back again!
Michael K — Google review
Fast service from the staff. Good pho with rare beef and meatballs, decent broth. I like smaller, bouncier meatballs these are huge Table chile sauce not spicy. Chicken spring rolls are huge and taste good, but could use more veggies and herbs beyond lettuce. Peanut sauce was really sweet. Nuoc cham was good. Tasty drinks $6+ each, due to large size but a little pricey IMHO.
Alison C — Google review
A very authentic pho noodle restaurant. The service is really good, and the food comes out pretty fast. The price is very good, and they are generous in their portions. The pho is signature and every size is worth the price. Not only that, their combination plates is surprisingly good. I enjoy their porkchops, and my family likes the pho. It gets busy sometimes but also enough space. I believe this restaurant has been around since the late 2000's, and continues to deliver good quality, affordable, Vietnamese food. Enjoy!

This is the best Pho restaurant in Sacramento. No one beats them in flavor, portions, or service. We never have to wait for a table. They're always packed so getting your food may take a little longer than your usual Pho place, but what can you do, there's half a dozen parties in front of you. They serve the most egg rolls per order of any Pho place in Sac County. And now they're open from 9 to 9!

Customers can enjoy combo platters featuring falafel, chicken, pita bread, hummus, and Greek salad. The counter-serve setup makes it convenient for takeout orders, but there are also some seats available for dining in.
I've been here several times before and I've never been disappointed. However, today, they outdid themselves! The food was definitely made with extra love ❤️. In a nutshell; always a good place to check out if you want some falafels. Been to this place a few times already and it's always been a good experience. The falafel, the plates, and even the burgers are all a delight. Food doesn't take too long and yet still is cooked and prepped wonderfully. Doesn't seem to be busy so there's always seats to sit at, not the biggest place but a good number of tables. Overall good food good stuff good time.

Five stars hands down. I had chicken platter for lunch. Amazing quality - chicken is tender and delicious. Not too salty. Salad is super fresh. The pita bread is the amazing part. It's burning hot to touch when it was served. The bread itself is very tender as if they made it fresh from the oven. The whole dish is nicely presented and reasonably priced. Good to have a spot like this in Natomas

It's my new favorite place. Tried their combo platter which includes generous servings of rice, falafel, chicken, 1 pita bread, hummus, and side Greek salad. Enough for 2 people (with leftovers after eating the fries too). Also, ordered a side badmash fries. I forgot to ask to make the fries extra crispy but the fries were cut thinner, it stayed crispy even after adding the sauces. Very satisfied with the food. The guy at the counter was really friendly too. Place was neat and clean. Will definitely come again.

My brother and I stumbled upon Falafel Corner for an early lunch and we loved it! Food was outstanding. And the portions were huge! We also ordered drinks and their Baklava -so yummy and fresh! They had pistachio and the traditional. Both excellent. Our meals were hot and lots of meat on mine. My brother got falafels and I tried one and loved it. So flavorful. The restaurant was nicely decorated and very clean. It soon filled and is a popular spot. The service was excellent. The server behind the counter explained the dishes and our meal came in just seven minutes. We will make this our go to spot in Natomas from now on! Jonelle’

I ordered three platters and two burgers, paid a decent amount for so many items. However, I’m extremely disappointed, they barely give you any meat in the platters. It’s insane how less meat they give you and fill up the boxes with rice. The ratio of meat to rice was completely off.

Nice little restaurant. The type of place where you order at the front counter, so it's great for takeaway, but there's a.small amount of seats inside as well as some patio seating out front. The food is good, and reasonably priced. I'm a bit particular about my shawarma, but I can't complain except maybe the chicken was a little on the dry side. The tzatziki and pita top notch, and definitely not skimpy. Overall, I'll recommend this place, and would eat there again.

Koshi Ramen Bar in Natomas Marketplace has quickly become a top spot for ramen enthusiasts in Sacramento. The restaurant, owned by John Tran and Debbie Cun, offers a mix of modern and traditional ambiance with its full-length windows, flat-screen TVs, wooden shutters, and clay pots. Their tonkatsu and black garlic ramen made from scratch pork broth have gained popularity among customers.
Great spot for a quick ramen fix. Grateful that they have chicken broth and vegetarian broth available here. Personal favorites are the Chicken Ramen and the Chicken Tan Tan Ramen. I think the portions are good and very filling. Their service is quick also. I’ve been here more than five times and I’ve never had any issues. Highly recommend!

I ordered the Chicken Tan Tan Ramen, expecting it to be pork-free since the menu listed chicken broth. Thankfully, the cashier let me know it also contains pork — something not mentioned on the menu. I don’t eat pork, so it’s upsetting to realize I have eaten it unknowingly on a previous visit. Please update the menu to clearly list all meat ingredients for those with dietary restrictions.

When I came in, the cashier up front had a very stern tone and a annoying look. After i ordered almost like 100, he gave me this tiny cup of water, didn't even want to give me ice, and i saw the soda cups are bigger. It took a while before I actually finally got my food, every broth was very milky and unsettling to even eat. The noodles were still hard and the bok choy wasn't cook like someone just threw it in there... The food wasn't really good, it gave me and my family headache or feeling sick... I had better ramen in Denver Colorado and Seattle Washington...

Their tan tan ramen made me sick. It tasted like strait milk with a touch of broth and light chili sauce. No tast of peanut sauce, barely a taste except warm milk with noodle. THAI - The House of Authentic Ingredients is a restaurant and cocktail bar in East Sacramento known for its elevated Thai cuisine. The establishment offers dishes like beefy boat noodle soup, barbecued pork ribs in tamarind sauce, and larb meatballs made with choice ingredients and presented exquisitely. Despite some feedback about the indoor temperature being too hot during summer, the food and service are highly praised by patrons. The menu features traditional dish names, adding to the authentic experience.
Delicious, upscale, but slighty pricey. I've been here only twice, and enjoyed both times so far. Big fan of the fried rice. Good flavor, and lots of veggies and meat! They didn't skimp out. I like the freshness of ingredients especially the vegetables in their complimentary salad and any of their dishes with veggies.

It's not the first time my husband and I came here, the restaurant is near our home. However, this is going to be our last visit. I ordered ลาบทอด Laab Tod, our favorite appetizer on the menu. My husband cut into the piece and it was hard. He thought there was a piece of bone. It turned out the ground pork was still frozen and raw. It was cold to touch. We told one of the worker and he touched the pork and agreed it was still frozen and uncooked. The dish was taken away and they offered to make a new one but we are already scared of it. They did not charge us for that. :( You could see the pink, clear and raw ground pork in the close up photo. Our main dishes came later. I have nothing to complain about those. I just could not enjoyed it since the appetizer had already ruined my appetite. ผิดหวังค่ะ :(

Great vibe and amazing Thai food. The salad is acidic and refreshing, perfect way to cleanse the pallet before the meal. Chicken Pad Thai and Yellow Curry dishes were amazing. The Thai tea was also one of the best ones we have tried around town. The outside seating was lit up once the sun set which made the atmosphere really warm and nice. Our server was also really nice and always made sure we had everything we needed. Will definitely be coming back here.

What a gem! We went here based on an IG post I saw. Although it was only my husband and I we splurged and ordered a platter. The food was delicious!!! We picked the House platter. It was a balanced display of food with healthy options. We had a ton of leftovers and I can't wait to go back.

I search on Instagram to find a good restaurant in Sacramento area and , I see first video for this Thai restaurant, we try the food and we really like it. Staff is very friendly good ambience. , we will definitely try again this restaurant 😊

This is THE place. Very authentic food that looks as good as it tastes. The complimentary salad to start was amazing. Really wish more restaurants served veggies first. We tried the fresh spring rolls which could have been a meal in and of themselves. I ordered khao soi which I rarely find on menus at other Thai locations and it did not disappoint. My partner ordered green curry. A tad spicy but not so much you couldn’t eat it. We will be back to try other items for sure. And the staff were not only helpful, on top of everything! The ambiance was perfect for date night. Little to say, we liked everything about this place. Highly recommend.

This is my second visit in two weeks and I can't wait to go back! Thai food is one of my favorites so I'm always happy to try a new spot. On my first visit I had the chef's special salmon dish which was just phenomenal, perfectly cooked. Tonight I went and had the pad priew wan, the curry puffs, thai iced tea, and mango with sticky rice. My waitress (kaitlyn) was lovely, the food came out quick and everything was fantastic just like the first time.

Prelude Kitchen & Bar is a charming gem nestled in the vibrant heart of Downtown Sacramento, perfect for those seeking a romantic yet budget-friendly dining experience. This delightful spot boasts a menu rich in traditional American fare, crafted with locally sourced ingredients that celebrate California's agricultural bounty. Guests can enjoy an inviting atmosphere while savoring dishes like truffle oil risotto and hearty Angus burgers.
We had a wonderful experience last weekend celebrating my nieces graduation dinner and with a party of 15 they accommodated us perfectly in our own private section with a prefixed menu along with appetizers. Food was delicious! I believe his name is Jason that was our server but he was fantastic, patient, attentive and very friendly! He definitely made the experience top notch and I look forward to coming back! Great view of the capitol outside when we took pictures on the patio. Great decor and large wine selection. Thank you Prelude Kitchen for a memorable night.

A nicer dining option in downtown Sacramento with delicious drinks, good service and pretty good food (some dishes are hit-or-miss as I’ll explain below) We opted for outdoor seating. I much prefer to sit outside, the inside vibes are a bit off to me (I can’t put my finger on it…). The interior is quiet and the trimming, layout, and bright lighting makes it feel like the inside of a residential house. I think this resonates with other diners as well since I saw all the outside tables full, while the inside had a lot of empty tables. The service was great, really friendly. The cocktails were delicious as well. The food was overall good. The pork chop and the chicken dishes were great. The steak was cooked perfectly. There were a few dishes that were REALLY SALTY. Like almost hard to eat, because it was so salty. For instance, both of our pasta dishes our entire group of 9 thought were really salty.

Very average food offset by good service. The beef carpaccio was quite bland, the tuna tasted slightly old, and the scallop risotto was just awful. The french fries were crisp but had a mealy texture. The pork chop was delicious.— well cooked and well seasoned. There are much better options in this price range.

We had a wonderful experience dining here! The three of us thoroughly enjoyed every dish we ordered—everything was flavorful and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making it a perfect place to relax and enjoy a great meal. The staff was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. We’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for good food and a great vibe!

I really don’t see how this restaurant is rated so high. We dined here last night and the experience was quite underwhelming. The service was exceptional, but that doesn’t make up for the fact that the food is overpriced for what it is. The ambiance was cold. It didn’t seem friendly. Seemed more pretentious. We started off with the Seared Ahi Tuna. There wasn’t enough pineapple vinaigrette so it was bland. The grade of tuna was good though, but not enough in the portion size. My wife and her friend had the Steak Frites. For $59 they’re going to serve flank steak? It was cold and the fries tasted old and stale. My wife’s friend had the Basil Risotto & Hokkaido Scallops. Poor guy got only 3 scallops and a small portion of risotto. I could tell he was still hungry after his meal. I got the Buttermilk Brined Half Chicken. The chicken itself was dry, but the pan sauce was flavorful. I probably got the largest portion out of everyone’s entrées. To end we had Matcha Pots De Creme and Affogato for dessert. Again, they were ok, but just average desserts at best. Nothing thy wowed us. We’ll probably never come here again because I don’t see the value. Our bill was $450 for dinner and a few drinks. If you feel like blowing money and pretending to be rich go here. Otherwise, there are a lot of other better choices for food and value.

I'm a hopeless romantic and love when a new place carries the nostalgia of something old. Prelude Kitchen & Bar is tucked at the end of a side street in downtown Sacramento, and stepping onto their patio instantly reminded me of dining in Saint-Tropez, Cannes, or Rome. The only difference? None of those gorgeous places had a picture-perfect view of the California State Capitol right across the street. For the past 10-12 years, my wife and I have faithfully had a date night every Tuesday evening. (Men, be warned: this tradition started because Tuesdays used to mean cheap movies--and look what it's turned into. ) Every now and then, we stumble across a gem, and Prelude is absolutely one of them that will stay in our rotation from this day forward. The food? Every bit as good as the view. The pork chop alone deserves its own love story--it will make you want to leave your wife... but only to go to the restroom, and then come right back to share it with her. From start to finish, everything was excellent, including the attentive service. If you're looking for a restaurant that delivers romance, charm, and unforgettable flavors, Prelude Kitchen & Bar is the place to be.

On October 15th, I had dinner at Prelude Kitchen & Bar in Sacramento with a group of 13 colleagues. Despite the size of our party, we were seated fairly quickly and didn’t have to wait long for our drinks. We started with several appetizers—Seared Ahi Tuna, Wagyu Carpaccio, and Artisan Bread—and everything was delicious and well-prepared. For my entrée, I ordered the Steak Frites, which came out cooked perfectly and paired nicely with the fries. The only downside was that the dish wasn’t quite as hot as I would’ve liked when it arrived, but it still tasted great. I enjoyed a nice glass of Zinfandel alongside my meal, which complemented it well. The service throughout the evening was attentive and professional, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming—ideal for both groups and smaller gatherings. Overall, the food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the experience was very enjoyable. I’d definitely return.

CF Cheng Chinese Cuisine is a bustling and cozy restaurant that offers a wide selection of traditional Chinese dishes, including daily dim sum. Despite the compact dining area, the food and service receive high praise from patrons. The menu features both Americanized and authentic Chinese cuisine, with standout dishes like orange chicken and pan-fried noodles. While the restaurant can get quite busy during peak times, the attentive staff ensures a pleasant dining experience.
Their food is so delicious & if you decide to eat there the music they play is peaceful & relaxing. Keep up the great job, thank you!!!😁👍 I remembered to take the pictures after I had already eaten some, sorry!

In a nutshell; Pretty good solid chinese food The PF changs nearby seems to only be doing take out now so CF Cheng it is. Not quite sure if the owners know each other but the naming convention makes it seem so. Parking isn't a problem as it is in a good sized lot with other businesses. Not the biggest place but still has a decent number of tables. Food is filling and for sure worth the amount or price that accompanies any of the menu choices. Servers were accommodating. Overall isn't anything entirely unique but if you're looking for chinese food that's for sure to be chinese comfort food then this is a place to consider.

They were busy when we went. They have family style dinners for 2 to 4 people. We did one for 2 people. It was delicious and there was plenty of food. The filet steak dish was the best. The beef was so tender and tasty. Check them out!

Came evening time after work, the small indoor area for seating was crowded and there were people waiting at the door to be seated. First time here after hearing how good the food is. For starters i only ordered two items shrimp fried rice and the Mongolian beef. The rice was very basic and bland I've had better. The Mongolian beef was not bad, the beef was seasoned well tender not chewy like most I've eaten. When mixed with the rice the dish balanced and was good. Huge servings, I enjoyed the leftovers for lunch the next day. I would like to try orange chicken and a dish with more spice if I were to return. Overall a busy place. Lots of customers

A gem of a restaurant. This is an independent Chinese restaurant located in the Natomas area. Small by most standards, but it is a popular restaurant with locals and business people. I watched as there was a steady stream of take out orders. They have two menus, one that emphasizes hong king style cooking and recipes and a standard Americanized menu. Hong Kong style Chinese is a fusion of usually, British, Cantonese and other south east asian cooking styles. Be advised that the dishes are huge, and also before you know it 5-6 dishes can be almost 100.00 in cost. We ordered hot and sour soup, crab cheese rangoons, Chinese mustard greens with black mushrooms and spare ribs with bittermelon cooked in black bean sauce. Just water to wash down the food. It was like 110 degrees outside. Sheesh. First the hot and sour soup was perfect with lots of tofu and pork. The soup was tangy and thick, the way we like it cooked. The crab rangoons, were filled with crab with a hint of melted cheese. They went well with the sweet and sour dipping sauce. The pork ribs with bittermelon were cooked in wok fry with black bean sauce and garlic. The pork ribs were moist and the meat fell off the bone. My only complaint was that the ribs were cut too small. The Chinese mustard greens and black mushrooms were cooked in a saute style with soy sauce and oyster sauce base. The mustard greens were crunchy to the bite, but retained the flavor of the sauce. The black mushrooms were huge and meaty. When cooked in this manner, in my opinion they taste just like meat. Delicious! In our opinion this is a great Chinese restaurant that rivals Chinese restaurants in Oakland and San Francisco Chinatowns in the day. Give it a try.

We’ve frequented CF Cheng over the span of more than 12 years, and as someone of Hong Kong cultural heritage, this place is all about cozy comfort food. If you’re not used to Cantonese style food, some of these 2 star reviews might be confusing, so keep reading. 1) This food is flavorful, and it’s fresh. The notion that this food is bland is borderline crazy and might be a case of Covid taste loss. Even the most simple dish we had (garlic pea shoots) was delicious and full of garlicky goodness. 2) the wait time for the dishes is real. The waiting time is a trade off for the freshness and wok hei. You can hear them cooking the dishes in the wok in the back. If this is a concern, start by ordering some soup and appetizer style dishes. 3) You can get dishes here that are hard to find elsewhere like the hand shredded chicken and the clay pot rice dishes (read the captions for tips). These are traditional Cantonese dishes that you likely won’t find at the bigger banquet style restaurants. They are great! Sometimes people expect food to be exactly like when you’ve had it in its place of origin, and I don’t know if that’s reasonable. With that said, this restaurant is in the top 3 Cantonese restaurants in all of Sactown. It’s worth repeating. CF Cheng is a staple for Chinese (Cantonese) Food in Sac. I’ve got no financial interest, nor am I related to anyone who owns this gem. If you’re looking to expand your palate for authentic Chinese food, support this Mom & Pop local business. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised. This review mainly focuses on their dinner menu; it’s been a while since I’ve had the dim sum here.

Good food and service. Only limit is dining area. At high peak time is quite packed. Reasonable price. Recommended. Food is still good. Tuesday night, they are very busy with many togos, long wait. Not a good option for dine-in when it‘s busy. Pan-fried noodles, shrimp dumplings dimsum, black pepper beef, chicken with salty fish fried rice are good. Recommend these dishes.

Bonchon Natomas is a popular casual eatery that offers freshly prepared Korean fried chicken and a variety of other traditional Asian dishes. Customers have expressed their love for the establishment, praising the delicious chicken katsu and amazing takoyaki. The rice is also highly regarded for its excellence. In addition to these tasty options, Bonchon Natomas serves seasoned fries with a sprinkle of parmesan cheese and homemade ketchup, which are described as just right.
I had a great experience at Bonchon Natomas! The food was delicious, especially the fried chicken, which was packed with flavor. The service was excellent—staff was friendly and attentive, making sure everything was perfect. The atmosphere was also great, with a clean and inviting space that made the meal even more enjoyable. Definitely a place I’d recommend for anyone craving some amazing Korean fried chicken

The food is always great, and we’re usually seated right away, which is nice. Customer service can be a bit inconsistent at this location, though. We’ve noticed that the Elk Grove Bonchon tends to be a bit more attentive. That said, the staff here is never rude—they're just not as proactive about checking in or offering drink refills.

Clean, friendly and delicious. Wings and drumsticks.pickled radish and bulgogi rice ... Excellent. Our server Dennis was a delight. Next visit Korean tacos and coleslaw. Nice bathroom.

Food is always prepared fresh and hot which is much better than fast food. Pick up is easy and order was ready when promised. Portions are relatively filling and although pricier than fast food the quality is much better and satisfying. I ordered the soy garlic (best flavor) wings, popcorn shrimp, pot stickers and chicken fried rice. Everything was really prepared well but the wings are always a family favorite! Nothing like them! They're always soaked in the delicious soy garlic sauce which has just a hint of sticky sweet flavor!! We love them!!

Clean restaurant and good service. Udon soup with bulgogi was extremely good (but a lot of salt in it). Bonchon wrap was a bit plain but very big, not much chicken in it. But we enjoyed our meal. Food came out promptly

Holy, beware when ordering the boneless. McDonald’s nuggets are bigger than these. If they are going to sell chicken this small then reduce the price. Feel ripped off

We went to Bonchon tonight—we usually enjoy the food here, and it didn’t disappoint. However, the service really fell short this time. We ordered drinks, but they didn’t arrive for over 10 minutes, and we had to ask again. When we needed more napkins, no one was around to help; all the staff seemed to be crowded in the kitchen. When we arrived, a man had already been waiting for his to-go order, and somehow, we got our food before he did. He ended up waiting at least 40 minutes with no communication from the staff. No one told him what was happening, and everyone just stayed in the kitchen. When he finally got his order, he was clearly frustrated and walked out upset. No one apologized to him at all, and did not even checked on his order periodically. When we got our bill and asked for a takeout box, the server helped another to-go order and forgot about us. Once again, we had to ask a second time just to get our box. I’m not sure we’ll dine in again—maybe we’ll just stick to takeout from now on.
Cindy S — Google review
Was excited to try this place out from all the raving reviews but it was a disappointment for me. First off, the floors and tables felt sticky, giving the feeling that it hasn't been properly cleaned in a while. Also, service was bad as it took at least 10 minutes for a server to come take our order despite only having one other table in the whole restaurant. Food wise, our fries came out warm and tasted bad. The fried chicken was ok but both of them has a stale taste to it, which would mean it's been a while since they changed their frying oil. Overall, would not recommend this location nor would I come back here.

I had a fantastic experience at Noodle To Thai For. The service was outstanding, and the beef noodle soup was delicious – rich broth and tender beef. I also got crab fried rice and Pad See Ew; the noodles were so good! Highly recommend this place! Cozy place in Sacramento.

This place has some amazing Thai food! It's a cute little neighborhood place with very personal and friendly service. We found it on our way back into town by searching online and decided to give it a try. Our group of 7 got right in, ordered, and our food came out freshly prepared from the kitchen quickly. While we were there, I noticed a good stream of people getting food to go, so it seems popular with the locals. Everyone's food and drinks were delicious. Some highlights were the Green Curry Chicken and Thai Iced Tea. It's a great place for a couple or reasonable sized group. We're looking forward to coming back soon!

Boat noodle was good but had better out there in Sacramento. Beef meet was thick and nice addition to the noodle soup. Soup was missing some flavor; hardly any or no blood added. Also asked for fresh pepper and Kapi on the side but they don’t have any?!?
Klagkin L — Google review
I ordered food to go. Decided to try this place due to the reviews. It made it look promising. I got the green curry, my husband got the pad see eew. We also got the crispy shrimp roll appetizer. Total came out to be about ~$45. I won’t be coming back. My curry was all liquid, barely veggies and two pieces of chicken. I got plenty of rice tho… took a piece and it was under cooked. SMH. The crispy shrimp rolls look promising but my hopes are very low. My husband said the pad see eew was very dry and plain, barely no taste. I had to try it my self and sure enough it was tasteless. He needed to add more soy sauce for him to even touch it.

Literally the definition of an excellent local food eatery. Place is a tiny house converted to a restaurant so know seating is limited. Had the Beef Noodles and Pad See-Ew (Chicken). Great flavor on both, especially the beef noodles which had a nice subtle richness to it. Portions sizes moderate & just had a nice home cooking feel. Just a nice place to seat, eat and have a cozy Thai food experience. Customer service was very attentive to our group. Street parking. Overall if looking for a food Thai food spot without a ton of fluff and has the food quality to back it, I would definitely recommend this place.

Been eating here for at least 20 years. #8 #9 & #20 are my favorites. Comes out fast & hot. Noodles are bouncy. I love all the meat, shrimp and garnishes that come on top. Portions are big and filling. I add their house made chili oil. Oh SO good! The place is airy, they're always refilling the condiments. Service is straightforward and efficient. Prices are cheap for nice big bowl of soup. 🍜 I'll always be a loyal customer.

My mom and I hadn’t been here in years, so we decided to stop by. My family used to come here often, so it brought back a lot of memories. Crazy that the same staff is still here—and they look exactly the same! 😂 I ordered #1 and my mom got combo #3. Portions were big, but the soup didn’t quite taste like it used to. It seems like the chili oil might have changed, which gave the noodles a slightly off flavor. Still, the food wasn’t bad, and it’s always good to support a local spot. Service is the same as always, yell to find someone if you need anything, and pay at the counter. Simple and straight to the point.

Delivery Restaurant
New Rice Bowl & Boba Milk Tea Express is a delightful eatery that specializes in casual Chinese and Japanese cuisine, offering an array of lunch specials and convenient delivery options. A recent late-night visit turned into a culinary adventure, as the flavors and aromas from the dishes were simply irresistible. The generous portions provided enough food to last for days! During another visit, I opted for teriyaki with rice paired with a caramel boba milk tea—an impressive selection of drinks awaits you here!
I ordered a small bowl of Chicken Curry and i was given a hefty portion mixed with a variety of vegetables. The curcumin from the curry is "scientifically proven to improve heart health, prevent alzheimer's, and cancer." Curcumin is also supposed to help improve symptoms of depression and arthritis. Well i ordered it because it is delicious.

To be sure, I am referencing the New Rice Bowl and Boba at 7416 Fair Oaks Blvd, Sacramento. I have mixed feelings on my second visit. My first visit I loved the Honey Walnut Shrimp and BBQ Pork Rice combo and wish I had ordered more, but felt the Kung Pao Chicken, Fried Cheese Wonton, and BBQ Pork Bun were ok but not good enough to reorder. So today I went back to reorder the same Honey Walnut Shrimp combination and it as though they lost their chef ... not even sure what this is! The shrimp was barely browned, mushy, and absolutely buried in cream sauce. It was ok to eat ... nothing upsetting ... and you could somewhat taste the original recipe, but I won't be back. In a pinch, it isn't totally bad after reheating, just not as good as average Chinese, and there was something funky about the rice this time ... I will likely throw most of it out. Now I usually like my Honey Walnut Shrimp crispy with honey, not mushy in cream sauce, but last time the cream sauce was good and not overkill, while this time the chicken batter seemed underdone and honey was barely recognizable under so much cream sauce. I struggled between a 3 and 4 star rating because of my first visit. I don't want to shoot them down entirely, but it needs serious work.

This is a place to mainly get To-Go or Delivery but you can Dine-In but the inside is nothing to write mom about. The Food, Drinks, and Service, now that's DEFINITELY something to write Everyone about. Fresh and good Quality ingredients. The serving sizes are fair. The variety of dishes is great from appetizers, soups, combo plates, and a bit of Dim Sum. On all the food can get 1/2 orders, sides of any meal, Family Combos and Catering Trays. Their drink selections Very Extensive from Iced Teas, Smoothies, Shakes, all with or without the Boba experience. Strangely enough they always have very good music playing, very eclectic. The service at the counter is wonderful and friendly. They also participate in the EBT Hot Meal Program. I gave 3 stars because of the rice. Of all things, in an Oriental food place, the rice was tasteless and an uneventful complement to the wonderful pork Szechuan I ordered.

We love this place. You can dine in or take your food to go. Wish they had a drive thru, but it's worth it still to come in to grab your food. The people are friendly. The food is delicious. The chicken katsu is some of the best. I love the Lao Lao and Kalua pork plate. The Loco Moco is so delish. Mix bbq plate is one of my favorite! Variety of drinks is great! Shrimp plate healthy meal really feels healthy in my tummy. Sausage masubi so yummy! Hawaiian can drinks yay! Smoothies are great too. Staff is friendly!

Happy Takeout is a delightful gem that specializes in Korean and Asian fusion cuisine, catering to a variety of dietary needs. This charming spot offers comforting dishes like their chicken rice soup, perfect for chilly days with its homemade flavor. While the restaurant is small and designed solely for takeout, it compensates with phenomenal food prepared fresh upon ordering. The energetic staff adds to the experience, making every visit enjoyable.
Since I moved to Sac I have been on the search for the holy triangle of Chinese food. Not too far away, not too salty, and absolutely loaded with flavor! They do it right at Happy Takeout. Quick service and you can tell they love food and their customers a TON

Best wonton soup ever (they use napa cabbage!!). Best cheese wontons. I’m lactose intolerant but I can never leave without adding some to my order. Get one or the other (or both) and even your worst day will become happier.
Vivian T — Google review
The BEST Chinese food spot I’ve tried in Sacramento County. Food is made when ordered, the flavors are a clear indication of that. The chow mein, fried rice, egg roll, walnut shrimp - everything was PERFECTION! Needless to say, I am Happy with Happy Takeout. Do yourself a favor and stop by if you’re in the area. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
Mrjvg94 — Google review
My rating is so low based upon the food quality. I ordered the sweet sour chicken, orange chicken, shrimp fried rice an egg rolls. Now my fried rice was great however for the rest it was trash, my sweet sour chicken was soggy, my orange chicken was dry, egg roles was oily an soggy an tasted like they came from Costco.
LEE J — Google review
I came here earlier today on July 18, 2025 at about 12:30 to pick up an order and the quality of service was dismal and absolutely appalling. There was a white woman she seemed middle aged, but she was in the front showing alot of attitude and handing customers food in such a rude way. It was almost as if she was going to throw it. She was rude and just talking down on many customers. I definitely do not recommend this restaurant for those who want to receive quality service. I believe you guys need to train your employees how to be a bit nicer to customers/delivery drivers. Like I mentioned before this restaurant is something I don’t recommend at all unless you want to experience a rude worker.

I average once a week at this restaurant and I have never been disappointed. I love the service, the food and the environment when I walk in. Thank you for being a plus in my life.

Happy Takeout was my husband and I’s go to spot. During our recent visit we were immediately given attitude and when asking for additional forks the cashier turned her back to us and went on her phone. My husband’s order was completely wrong and they refused to give us a refund or remake the food. Never coming back.

Great food for a really amazing price. Amazing portions too! Definitely the best chow mein and fried rice that I ever had.oramge chicken is bomb and I had the spicy garlic which was amazing. Next time I crave Chinese food I'm going back for sure.

Nestled in a cozy neighborhood, Peace Cuisine is a delightful spot that captures the essence of traditional Chinese dining with an emphasis on Cantonese and American-style dishes. The talented head chef and owner, Eric Kuang, crafts a menu filled with beloved favorites like Orange Chicken and Broccoli Beef while also offering unique off-menu options for those looking to explore new flavors. Diners rave about the generous lunch specials priced between $7-$8.95, making it an excellent choice for a satisfying midday meal.
The owner was incredibly friendly and service was superb. This is a great hole in the wall. You never hear the wok in the back turn off….and they are fast! Everything was hot and really well done. Had the spicy eggplant with hot and sour soup and sweet and sour pork. I stay at a nearby hotel for work often so this will be my new go to spot.
Q G — Google review
The food and service at Peace Cuisine in West Sacramento were very good—better than I expected. On a weekday evening, they don't have any dine-in customers other than me and my friend, but they have so many to go and delivery orders nonstop. I ordered the House Pan Fried Noodles and Lamb with Ginger and Scallion. They're excellent. We received a fast, polite, and friendly service as well. I enjoyed my dinner. I'll come back and try more dishes.

Delicious solid food in a humble little place. Yes, a tasty cheap meal does exist. If you’re down for a no nonsense sort of place that thrives as a takeout place and doubles as a restaurant this is it. I ate here twice this week while staying at a nearby hotel. Friendly service. Generous portions. Great prices. Leftovers for sure. What else do you need?
R K — Google review
We have been here twice already in two weeks! The restaurant is quite small and simple, however the good and the portions are so good! Rick is the tall man who greets and serves the guests. He has been super friendly and chatty the two times we came. He even remembered us! I think the prices are also very fair. We got Dinner Combination Plates both times, and everything except the Teriyaki Thigh Chicken Meat was good. Wouldn’t recommend the Thigh Chicken Meat because it was hard.
Barty P — Google review
I really wanted to like this place. The dinner special was a very good deal roughly 15$. The orange chicken didn’t have much sauce so it just tasted like chicken with slight orange flavor. The chow menu is okay at best. It didn’t have much flavor. The environment was clean and organized. I was greeted by both the workers and they were nice. I did expect better food though. I’ll be willing to try another order another time but don’t get the chow mein or orange chicken.
Roxanna R — Google review
Small 9 table establishment , resembles a take out but it is indeed a sit down. We tried the dinner special for 12.95, and substituted for white rice at no charge. Food was ok , temperature was like warm .

Mother Restaurant is a trendy, casual dining spot in Sacramento that offers a seasonal vegetarian menu with an artistic atmosphere. The chef's innovative combinations of vegetables and herbs result in sophisticated and substantial dishes. Customers rave about the green curry, which is packed with depth and surprises from different vegetables, while the wedding lasagna is described as light and creamy. The menu offers a variety of options for both plant-based eaters and non-vegetarians, making it difficult to choose just one dish.
Fantastic food, service and vibrant (but not obnoxiously so) atmosphere. We had a seasonal dish and our table when silent. You know its good food when people stop talking to eat. Will return again. And I LOVE that they locally source!

It was as solid vegetarian stop. The Rosemary Fries w/ the smoked vegan mayo were excellent. The Nut Burger was good, I've never had one before, but I probably prefer the more traditional alternatives. My Kiddo got the Farro salad and liked it. Overall it was a good experience.

Monica H — Google review
Alright, I will preface this by saying I’m extremely hard to impress with food. I love to cook and very, very rarely eat out. And when I do, I’m almost always disappointed or at best unimpressed. My friends and I were spending the weekend in Sacramento, and I had looked up healthy restaurants. This one caught my eye, so we tried it out on Saturday night. Right away when we walked in, I loved the atmosphere. It was colorful but cozy at the same time. We were greeted and sat right away at a long, high-top table. There were cute little flower vases on every table and colorful glasses for water. We split the mustard brussels sprouts and baked veggie focaccia as appetizers. They brought out three plates and even cut the bread in three slices for us— small touches that made us feel cared for! For our meals, we got the curry, lasagna, and bitter caesar. We all tried bites of each other’s, and let me tell you— everything was absolutely INCREDIBLE. This was by far some of the best food I’ve ever had in my entire life. It almost brought actual tears to my eyes. My friends agreed, and we couldn’t shut up about it during the whole meal. Funnily enough, at the end we learned from the server that the chef has a Michelin nod, and my friends and I had been saying it tasted like Michelin star food. I am already dreaming of coming back to town so I can eat here again. Oh, it was also super reasonably priced, though I would have gladly paid much more.
Eileen M — Google review
Came here for my birthday during a chefs 10. Everything was incredible! The chef Mike came out and explained everything and really made us feel like we were in there alone having a super special evening to ourselves. The server Raef was so kind and attentive, and truly went above and beyond.

I am not from Sacramento or a vegetarian, but this was by far the best food I have eaten while in town. Well worth the visit, cheers!
Liz R — Google review
Took my mom her for Mother’s Day, does not get more “Mother” than that. It was her request too, because we’ve loved Mother for years and when it closed it was a big loss for us and the farm to fork community in Sacramento. When she heard it had reopened she had been asking to return and I am SO glad we finally went. Already plotting to come back. As usual, elevated vegetables. Nothing forced into a meat shape or flavor, just highlighting the natural flavor and bounty of the ingredients. Honestly, the broccoli adobo was my favorite menu item. Simple but so complex in flavor and texture. An amazing dish. Could lick the plate. The farro was good, but didn’t really do it for me flavor-wise. Was missing come acidity. Texture and freshness was on-point in truly every dish we had. The homemade ravioli made with fava beans was insane! So delicious and balanced. Highly recommend that dish too. And the hummus? I was not expecting to love it so much but everything combined from the sweet apricot to the tangy hummus and fresh salad was insanely good, we were fighting over who got to finish it. I regret not taking a picture but the golden beet tostada was very memorable too. It reminded me flavor and texture wise like a ceviche. Ok I could go on and on. Can’t wait to come back and try more. A great place to share a bunch of dishes with friends and try as much as you can because you won’t be disappointed! Great new location and the service was amazing just like the original location. So glad you’re back!
Heather Z — Google review
Substantial vegetarian fare that is sophisticated in the chef’s innovative combination of vegetables and herbs. We share the green curry and the wedding lasagna. The green curry was my favorite. The roasted garlic caught my attention, the curry added depth, while the different vegetables surprised me with each taste. The lasagna is light and creamy, a solid entree which seems vanilla compared to the flavorful curry. We also enjoyed the Jamichael drink made with hibiscus and other juices. The high top tables were comfortable after sitting all day, and there are standard tables as well. This restaurant offers a fresh perspective on meatless meals!

Really love the food from here, it is so tasty and a great value. You get a lot of food for a good price! The salt and pepper fish is my favorite thing here, the fish tastes so good not old, and it was a great crisp to it. The salt and pepper chicken is also really good, sometimes smaller pieces can be slightly over fried. They are quick and you can order ahead to make it quicker. They don’t have indoor dining so be aware of that. Overall, a great Chinese restaurant that I definitely recommend coming here!

Very sweet ladies behind the counter offer great customer service, always welcoming and smiling. As for the food let’s just say this place has the best and biggest portions of really good Chinese food. Egg rolls are so crisp and hot every time. Chow mein is amazing. But my go to is always the sweet and sour chicken, you just can’t go wrong when it comes to this place no matter what you order, you know you’ll be full and most likely have some leftover for later. All this at a really decent price earns 5 stars from me!!

Really enjoyed the kung pao chicken! I got the dinner combo which comes with fried rice, chow mein, an egg roll, and a wonton and they filled that box to the brim! Seriously. And $15 for that amount of food feels like a steal. Feels all the better that the ladies were so friendly and welcoming when I walked in. Great spot!

Service and food were impeccable!! We were big fans of the pad Thai , cream cheese wontons, garlic pepper tofu, and of course the drunken noodle dish. We split three four dishes and got beers and it was still fairly affordable!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Drunken Thai Noodles – Downtown Sacramento This place is truly a hidden gem! The food is absolutely delicious—every dish is packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. The restaurant itself is clean, welcoming, and has a comfortable atmosphere. What really stands out is the value—you get top-quality, flavorful Thai food at prices that are extremely reasonable (definitely on the cheaper side compared to other places with food this good). I will definitely be coming back here again and again. If you’re in downtown Sacramento and craving Thai food, this spot should be at the top of your list!

After a wedding, we stopped for some appetizers and drinks before a wedding reception. We shared the papaya salad, calamari, potstickers, and angel wings. The food was very tasty with super fresh produce (papaya salad (delicious) and garnishments). Service was quick, attentive, and friendly. It is a small place. So, you have to walk behind the counter to get to the restroom. They need to tidy up the space behind the counter and make sure the water is boiling hot in the tea pot. We will definitely return for other meal options.

This is pretty good restaurant. Especially with this price and this quality food, it’s really amazing. I visit here in happy hour time. Spring rolls, calamari fries, garlic french fries are happy hour menu so each dish was less than 5bucks. They made them when I ordered so it taste fresh. I like their calamari fries and the sauce. Spring rolls have some tofu inside which went well with their peanut sauce. Garlic fries are okay but not that special. As an entree, i got red curry with chicken. They put a lot of ingredients and blended well in the soup. I was told this place is run by the same owner which is coconut on T. However taste is pretty different. Drunken noodle is way better and fresh.

Additionally, traditional dishes from Xian such as cold noodles and spicy pork wontons are also available. Situated in Crocker Village amidst numerous dining establishments, the restaurant boasts tasteful decor that pays homage to dim-sum culture.
Large authentic menu items selections. I think the price is fair for that each dumplings are make by hand. Decent protein amount in the meat dumplings. The floor is a bit oily, but the place is kept clean otherwise.

I’m so happy I found this place when I came to visit and glad I was able to find it again. Super fast & delicious soup dumplings. Their green beans are so good, everything I have tried has been good. Great little spot if you're in the mood for some dumplings! Tried the Shrimp & Pork and the Beef Dumplings with some of the shrimp fried rice and all of them were delicious. Food came out quickly and was well worth the price in my opinion. Next time in town I'll definitely come back!

I’ve been to DTF and I’ve written about how it’s quite over rated and that some mom and pop dumpling place can be equally good or better in terms of taste and quality per dollar spent, and this is an example of such a place. I’m only speaking to the food and taste, but in compression the atmosphere and service can’t be compared to DTF. But pick any dish, esp XLB it’s going to be better here
Jay W — Google review
Tasty dumpling is one of my favorite spots I'm Sacramento. The spicy pork soup dumplings are great and the juicy pork buns are just devine (once they cool down, they come out blisteringly hot), I tried the steamed pork buns on my last trip and they were also very tasty. Service has always been super friendly and always aimed to please, everything is cooked fresh so you should always expect a bit of a wait once you place your order, it will be well worth it.

A solid dumpling house. We ordered 7 dishes for 5 people and worked out well. Everything was well executed. Thought the scallion pancakes were the weakest of all but still passable. Dan Dan noodles were delicious. A little on the pricey side, otherwise it would be 5 stars. Friendly service. Clean. Fast and hot food.

Solid spot for some Chinese eats! Ordering is a bit unorganized. You pay first and then sit at a table (if available). There are a lot of to-go orders. If there are no tables available, people tend to clump in the lobby area, so it becomes a huge cluster. Food was good. We ordered: -pork XLB -pan fried juicy pork bun -stir fry green bean -xi an cold noodles All tasted good, and came out quickly and hot! Be careful of the floors. Grease feeling over entire floor...almost slipped twice. Parking in the plaza.

2nd time eating here, this time we got takeout and it was very quick. Their soup dumplings, pan fried soup dumplings and hot and sour soup are delicious, highly recommend. Located on J Street in Midtown, Dumpling House is a casual spot that has quickly become popular for its delicious Pan Asian dumplings. While the restaurant primarily offers takeout options, there may be sit-down dining available post-pandemic. Customers rave about the fresh and tasty fried beef and steamed dumplings, as well as the flavorful pork vegetable dumplings with tangy dipping sauce.
Walking in the area we decided to try this little shop based on the posted menu and great looking food on peoples tables. Its a small shop, nothing fancy but that's fine by us. We ordered the pork and chive potstickers fried, the vegetable chow mien and Chinese sausage fried rice. Potsticker were delicious and for 12 @$14 bucks a steal. The chow mien came with only carrots, cabbage and noodles but packed with flavor for as simple as it was. The fried rice had carrots, cabbage, egg and sausage and it was white which was unusual. I expected it to be brown from soy like most fried rice is but it still packed that umami flavor soy brings. Maybe white soy, I'm not sure. We liked the option of adding Chinese sausage instead of the usual ham. All in all a delicious lunch, friendly service, each dish was under $15 and would return again when in the area. We give it a 4.6 total.

Dumpling House has quickly become one of my favorite dumpling spots. The barbecue bread, potstickers and dumplings were all delicious and the barbecue buns were perfect not soggy or dry, full of flavor. The service was excellent too a young lady was super nice to us and gave really good customer service. We spent about $60 for two people, and it was worth every penny. I’ll definitely be coming back!

This is a hidden gem. The potstickers were generously filled and crispes to perfection. I've had soup dumplings aka bao in several locations but these soup dumplings were the perfect balance of broth and filling. It's a bright atmosphere and everyone in the place seemed to enjoy their food. The portions are perfect for sharing like dim sum. Sadly we did come on a day that the bathroom was out of order.
Rocky B — Google review
Pork chive steamed dumplings were flavorless. The dough was gummy. The sauce was extremely sweet. Xiao long bao order was below average in flavor. Dough consistency was slightly better though. Orange chicken was terrible--the worst of everything I ordered. Very little meat inside (see photo of cross section), extremely crunchy, almost candy-like batter. Odd oily sauce (chile oil??). I ordered from Door Dash. I could tell from the app and the message from my driver that he waited over 40 minutes for my food order (only 3 items). The food didn't look as bad as it tasted. After trying the food, I actually threw away the "chicken". I don't usually throw out food, but this dish tasted off and I didn't want to be ill. I'm shocked this place has good reviews.

2nd time here & the dumplings are soo fresh & delicious. Had the shrimp chicken dumplings & veggie egg rolls. Plenty for 2 people. Sat out on the patio for a nice dinner & people watching. Service is top notch attentive & friendly. I have to say i loved coming in to see someone sitting at the table making fresh cream cheese wontons. It’s just very authentic. If you love dumplings and atmosphere is secondary, this is your spot!😋 We decided to try some dim sum down town, and went to the Dumpling House. The interior is small, lacks atmosphere, but dumplings are good (a bit expensive but there are a lot of them. We did not leave hungry). The parking is poor. Not much and the metermaid comes around to check. Two hour parking, if you can find it!😬

This is my go to viet place that's close by since I don't want to drive all the way to south sac. They recently remodeled and it looks really nice with the new decor, tables, floors, and chairs! They even had new plates and dining ware that look a lot more modern! The service is very fast and food is very good. I always get the spring roll, vermicelli, pho, and Thai tea. SERVICE: The service has gone downhill over the last couple of years since the owners switched. Most of the waiters look like children and are very forgetful. I’d recommend checking your bill since we’ve had a couple issues of overcharging. FOOD: Overall the food is relatively tasty, I’d recommend the spring rolls. ATMOSPHERE: The atmosphere is always very luxurious, which I appreciate.

Worst service ever. I tipped but regret it. The ladies don’t smile and don’t show any emotions at all. They look like they hate being there. I was the only one in the restaurant and had to get their attention for everything. I asked about the two bone beef bowl and they said it’s a bowl of meat with two bones in it, well, that is the worst description of it. It’s two giant bones with cartilage. Then later another couple came in and saw my bowl, and asked about it, the lady told them “you can try one”, I don’t know why she gave them the option when I didn’t know either if I liked it or wanted it. Two was too big for me as a side. Vibes are off there. -2 for the service.

Probably the best Pho in town, every cut of meat is so thin and perfect. The soup is war and perfectly cut. The best service as well, you will never wait to much for your food and you also can be sure that is fresh for you to enjoy.

The food was great just finished going to the gym and decided to go to here and tried ban mi for the first time and it was so good The service was super nice and friendly The atmosphere was great. There were also Vietnamese hats on the walls with gray designs

I usually don't like to post anything too negative because every business owner is trying to survive and continue exist in the business world. The only reason I'm posting this is to let the owner know that your food is ok, not the best pho I've ever had, but it's good enough. What concerns me is how dirty your tables were, especially underneath, the bathroom, and how dusty everything was. It's one of the dirtest places I've ever eaten at. I mentioned it to one of the staff and he and his coworker looked at me like "so what?" They were not being rude or anything but they didn't seem to have a care in the world. Even though it was very slow at that time, they weren't too concern about cleaning or being attentive to the customers. I am praying that your restaurant has gotten better since I've been there. I think if you just clean up your place and make it a little more sanitary, it might bring more customers in. Your food seems authentic enough and many people seem to like the taste. I'll give another try and see if there has been any improvement. Thank you.

Ten22 offers a unique dining experience with its inventive New American cuisine and craft cocktails served in a cozy brick-walled setting adorned with autumnal colors. While it may be considered a bit pricey, the delicious food and excellent service make it worth the visit. Whether you choose to dine indoors or on the patio, this restaurant caters to both business gatherings and family outings. The menu showcases modern twists on American favorites, ensuring there's something for everyone to enjoy.
Wow! Great rustic feel, nice menu and excellent service. I tried Ten22 for lunch during my stay in Sacramento. Came highly recommended on TripAdvisor and I'm glad I took the recommendation. The restaurant is conveniently located in Old Town which is like an old West area of downtown. I started with the wedge which was delicious with the interesting twist of pickled onion. I followed that up with the bacon Brussels sprouts pizza. Absolutely delicious, drizzled with balsamic and topped with Gorgonzola. It was a nice, generous single-size serving of a whole pie. I couldn't resist trying the creme brulee for dessert. It was impressive... Garnished with spun sugar. They could have skipped the apple topping, in my opinion, but the Custard was delicious. I ordered a figs and honey cocktail which was so good, I had a second. The service was impeccable, the decor really nicely understated rustic. I would definitely go back. Maybe try dinner this time.

The pizza was so good! It was one of the more unique pizzas I've have had and I've lived in Italy for over 2 months. They are all farm to fork and the quality of the ingredients could be tasted while eating the pizza. They all tasted very ripe and fresh! The Chocolate 🍫 Taboo Cake 🎂 was incredibly satisfying! It is a big dessert and really fills you up while tasting great! You can have three people split it up and still have good portions! The service here was great too! Our server was very accommodating and worked with us to meet our dietary needs. Thank you for the kind hearted service.

Beautiful restaurant with a great view of the modern kitchen. The food was good but too complicated. Sometimes when you want a hamburger you expect to get a hamburger. Instead I got this pork burger which tasted like a big meatball on a black bun, yuck, sorry just not my thing. I'm sure the chef is very good at what he does but for me I was just looking for Simplicity. Mac and cheese and a hamburger :-)

Stumbled on this place taking a walk from my hotel. Excellent atmosphere. Service was attentive, genuine, and unrushed from Marcus. Had a good chardonnay on happy hour served in a high-end glass. He made a great recommendation for the bacon, gorgonzola, and brussel sprout pizza. Maybe the best artisan pizza I've ever had! Hit the mark with this one. Great job. Will be returning!

Update: Unfortunately, the restaurant is closing on March 2nd, 2018. I really like coming here to eat. The food and wine is a little pricey, but everything is farm to fork and the menu changes often based on what is in season. My favorites here (when they are on the menu) are the corn on the cob, and the hand-made tortelloni. Service and ambience is excellent too, and they have a nice outdoor patio area in which you can enjoy your meal.

I was only stopping in Sacramento for a few minutes, before heading back to San Francisco. I had never seen this part of Sacramento, and Ten 22 is nestled deep in an Old Town area with an upscale saloon-type feel. I sat at the bar alone and felt very comfortable. Great menu and dink selections. I happen to be on a low carb diet and the bartender, Jacob was very friendly and accommodating. He recommended the Salmon which came out quickly and was cooked to perfection. I also tasted the sweet corn succotash, which was tasty and had a unique smoky flavor. Overall, great experience and I highly recommend Ten 22!

Amazing Thai Food Experience! 5/5 I recently had the pleasure of dining at a fantastic Thai restaurant, and it was nothing short of amazing! The flavors were bold, fresh, and absolutely authentic, every dish was a delightful experience. The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxed evening out. If you’re craving authentic Thai cuisine that bursts with flavor, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommend!

Hello Changs Thai Cuisine. Our first time in to try your food. We were greeted as we entered the dining room, welcome in, for here or to go ? We seated ourselves, service sketchy at first. Then, I believe the owner assisted the younger lady working. She needs a little more refinement on her serving technique. All is good. Beef satay was good and the sweet and sour house Dipping Sauce was good. Geen curry chicken was good, but a little sweet for my taste. My wife's noodles were good. Overall we will be back to try something new. The shopping center/and restaurants Plaza is very nice. Fountain, seating, multiple choices. Check it out. #justhavingfun

1st time here. I came with a few regulars. The owner was nice and took our order. She was even thoughtful to remember that one of my friends has a certain allergy and made recommendations for him. Our food came out hot and promptly. I would easily go back again!

I love this place we have been going since the first week they opened up. We always get the pot stickers.... They are always hot and tasty! I love the Thai Basil Fried Rice and my wife has gotten the Pad Thai and Green Curry. Everything is fresh and the service is outstanding! The owner saw me and always says hello now! Very nice and highly recommended! Support local family owned businesses! It takes a lot to open a restaurant and this place deserves local love! It's a nice little restaurant!

Hands down my favorite Thai restaurant in nor cal. It’s a small family owned restaurant with limited seating but the food is always fresh and good. The pineapple fried rice is my favorite! Highly recommend that. The drunken noodles are also some of the best I’ve had.

Food had a decent flavor profile. Asked for spicy green curry but it was pretty mild. The cut size of the veggies was inconsistent and some could be a bit smaller. Looking forward to next time.

Dumpling restaurant
Fast food restaurant
Hao Bao Dumplings is a popular chinese restaurant that serves delicious dumplings with great taste, texture and presentation. The restaurant has two locations and offers a wide variety of dumpling options, including soups and combos as well as frozen dumplings you can take home. Since the menu is limited, it can be hard to find a table at lunchtime but the food is worth waiting for.
Came here looking for cheap food in the area and while the price met our wishes, the flavor blew us out the water. My only regret is not getting more food to take home. The house sauce for the dumplings is a delicious spicy sweet masterpiece. The hot buns with the condensed milk was something I never knew I needed in my life. On top of great quality, service was good too. Man working in front was nice and held a conversation with us and even scared the daylight out of us when he made a joke about how we can't get out food because we didn't save the tag. All in all this was a fantastic experience and I'll definitely be coming back
Diego L — Google review
If you're a dumpling lover, Hal Bao Dumpling on K Street in Sacramento might just hit the spot, though it's a mixed experience overall. Let’s start with the food. We kicked things off with the spring rolls, and wow—crispy, flavorful, and perfectly satisfying. The House Chow Mein was equally impressive, a nice balance of savory goodness. But the dumplings? Well, they were a bit underwhelming. They lacked the depth of flavor you'd hope for, more like a meatball wrapped in wet dough than the juicy, flavorful dumpling experience I was hoping for. Thankfully, the house and sesame sauces helped elevate the flavor, adding some much-needed zest to each bite. Now, for the ambiance—let’s just say it's a no-frills setup. The restaurant could definitely use some visual upgrades, and food arrives on a cafeteria tray with paper plates. Not exactly a five-star dining experience, but if you’re in the mood for dumplings and happen to be in the area, this spot can certainly scratch that itch. Hal Bao Dumpling is a good, casual choice for when you're craving dumplings—just don’t expect much more than that!

ordered uber eats - a chicken roll and what they sent me is like some kind of really disgusting prank. it's wilted like it's been sitting for days and it's freezing cold tried to call someone. they dont answer the phone also they put like....an enter chicken in here... which normally would be great except it's ice cold, no carrot, no cilantro, really nasty
Khaili L — Google review
I love the crispy, flavorful pan-fried pork & chive dumplings with house sauce. The folks that own/run this location are always very cheerful and pleasant to interact with. The store has always been clean and inviting with enough seating for the lunch crowd. Highly recommend giving them a try if you're in the area and looking for a tasty dumpling.
Brianna M — Google review
Stopped in just to fill my belly before a concert and had the BEST dumplings and scallion pancake I've ever eaten! And the fried sweet buns were to die for! Not to mention the incredibly friendly folks that helped us. I will make sure to stop in every chance I get!

Highly recommend this spot! Affordable pricing for tasty dumplings, it’s a win-win! I hade the pork-chive dumplings, 12 come in a order so they are enough to fill you up. The employee who helped my friends and I was kind, the restaurant is spacious enough to sit down and enjoy your food :)
Cukie F — Google review
I was at the Crest Theater for an event and didn't want popcorn or candy. Searching for what was nearby, I decided to go to Hao Bao. I walked in and was greeted with a touch screen ordering system. Call me old fashioned, but it's a little weird to have zero human interaction when ordering from a restaurant. Usually you have the option of talking to the employees, but it seemed to me like my only option was touch screen or ring the bell for help. I placed my order, struggled with inserting my debit card the correct way (I really am getting old!) and then sat down to wait for my order. I wondered to myself, what if I wanted to pay cash? How will I know when my order is ready? What if it were really crowded and lots of people ordered the same thing, how would they know who gets what?? After about 7 minutes, a man came out holding a bag and either said my name, or said "12 pork dumplings" (I don't remember which). When I looked at the receipt, it had my name printed on it, it must have been pulled from my debit card. The dumplings were fantastic, delicious, and piping hot. The house sauce was a little bit tangy, also delicious. If I lived in Sacramento I'm sure I would be going here all the time; but the futuristic no-contact ordering is still a little weird to me.
Delia K — Google review
Best dumplings in the Sacramento and surrounding location. The dumplings are tender, bouncy, tasty and savory and Hao Bao house dipping sauce is worth giving the location many visits in it of itself. Their gua bao aka "Chinese taco" is out of this world, the flavors are so rich silky, sweet and savory! The atmosphere is serene, love the sleek and clean minimalistic style. Well done, 100% recommend!

The rich broth and perfectly tender chicken make it an ideal choice for chilly days. If you're craving authentic Cambodian noodles, particularly hu tieu nam vang, this spot is your best bet in town!
I tried the dry noodles! It was delicious. The staff is very nice

The Cambodian noodles here were delightful but can use more meat, the soup can also be a little more salty for my taste but you can add more fisj sauce. The Sate was good, the pork bone I ordered didn’t have much meat or marrow in it. The service was really good and you can even get a coconut jelly for dessert which I was very refreshing. Don’t forget to Follow @Only1christinelu for more great food stops

Bamboo Noodle House is best known for its soup noodles, but I decided to try something different — the Pad See Ew — and it was incredible. The white noodles were perfectly cooked, with rich, satisfying flavor in every bite. Even though it’s not their signature soup, this dish totally delivered. Honestly, a 10/10 experience, and I can’t wait to come back and explore more of their menu!
Chris F — Google review
Great customer service every time we’re here. If you’re looking for Cambodian noodles (hu tieu nam vang), this is the closest you can get in Sacramento. I think the taste was decent, there are condiments on the table if you’d like to add up to your taste. Their appetizers are pretty good as well. We got the shrimp and pork lotus salad, added some fish sauce, and it tasted all fresh and delicious. They also open at 9am (hours as of June 2022) so it’s great if you’re looking for an almost breakfast spot.

This is one of the most delicious Asian Restaurant in Sacramento I've ever visited. Good price, good service, good dishes ! You should try their Cambodian Noodle and Pad See Ew
Hong N — Google review
Best hu tieu nam vang in Sacramento. Hu tieu nam vang is a clear, chewy noodle with a variety of meats, pork intestines, and seafood that can be eaten dry or with broth. Simple in concept but extremely hard to do right. This place is one, if not the best serving this dish in all of California. They also load up on the amount of meats also and prices are very reasonable. The soup broth is to die for.
L T — Google review
The waiter was kind and welcoming, and we were pleasantly surprised that our furbaby was allowed inside when we dined later in the afternoon. The restaurant looked small from the outside but was actually very clean and spacious inside. Parking wasn't the easiest, but since we came right before closing on a Tuesday, we were lucky to find a spot. I ordered the soup version of Hu Tieu (#20) while my boyfriend went with the dry version (#21). I first tried Hu Tieu during our trip to Vietnam last fall and absolutely loved it. I can’t say for sure if the flavor here matched what I had in Vietnam—it didn’t taste quite the same—but it was still very enjoyable. The meat portion was generous, and between the two, I preferred the dry version for its flavor. The waiter was also friendly and talkative. He shared that the restaurant is now under new management, which came up when my boyfriend asked about the previous owner. My boyfriend mentioned he thought the food tasted better before, but since this was my first time, I had nothing to compare it to. Overall, it was a great experience!

Ate right outside the store. Food was exceptional and quick. Had the orange chicken dinner plate and was fantastic
Brandon H — Google review
I ordered the seasoned chicken lunch special and it was honestly terrible. The chicken was freshly made but still came out dry and completely flavorless. The rice was mid and the only thing that tasted decent was the chow mein. Sixteen dollars for this is just ridiculous. Easily the worst Chinese food I have ever had. Definitely not coming back.
Papaya P — Google review
I dont understand why every review says good portion size. Went there, portion sizes were pitiful. Ordered the dinner plate, was almost all rice and little meat, was basically told I should've ordered a full plate after i complained at the offensively small amount. Why have an item on the menu that's basically a trap for customers?
B E — Google review
I spent 17 dollars for just sweet and sour pork. It was not sweet or sour and the meat tastes like it is deep fried.

Nestled in the Curtis Park neighborhood of Sacramento, the Dragon House is known for its unique mosaic dragon adorning its exterior. This small takeout spot offers a diverse menu with something for everyone, from garlic shrimp to chow mein. While it may appear as a quick takeout place with limited outdoor seating, the food is praised for being fresh and flavorful, with generous portions.
Delicious food. Their wonton soup with or without egg noodles is delicious. They serve it very fresh and hot. The broth cooks down the fresh vegetables and cilantro making it so delicious. The soup is large and very filling. I didn't need to purchase the combo meal with it. Ended up freezing the meal and eating it a few days later.
T T — Google review
Food is 4 stars because of the quantity and not necessarily quality. The banh mi meat is not traditional, but not bad at all. It lacks a discernible pate, but there is enough meat to compensate. Fried noodles suffer from lack of color, a common thing nowadays unfortunately. Overall: Come if you're hungry. Don't expect a unique experience.
Jason — Google review
Dragon House is a complete whole in the wall to-go lunch place serving up Chinese and Vietnamese Americanized food. Greasy, hot food that is served in large quantities. The kind of food that fills your belly but not necessarily satiate your culinary taste buds. I recently ordered the wor wonton soup. It was a cold day, and I wanted something hot. From my past experience, I was not expecting a ton of wontons. I would be stoked if I got more than three (like Abby with at least one in Ghostbusters). But hey this time around, the soup was swimming with wontons. There were shrimp, decent amount of thin slices of light chicken meat, and some slices of char sui (bbq pork) with a spattering of bean sprouts, broccoli, and sliced cabbage. But no noodles, last time (a few months ago) it had thin soup noodles with hardly any or none of the above mentioned items. The broth had way more flavor than the last time as well. The call in ordering process is wonky. I called to place my order. Right after I told her what I wanted, she hung up. Not telling me anything more such as the wait time or price. 22 minutes later, I am physically in the shop waiting in line. I get to the front and tell her I called in an order for wor wonton soup. She is a woman of few words and says "wait". So I stand and wait. A few minutes later, she shouts out "wor wonton soup". I go up to the counter and she waves at a lady sitting down, the lady shakes her head no. I said I called in an order ( as I did before). She does not give me the order even though no one else is claiming it. I am in a stand off now. I realize that I have not paid yet and can walk my sad self somewhere else. As I internally ponder my next move, she provides me the order and rings me up. Not sure if the place changed ownership. I always dealt with another employee previously.
Lillian — Google review
Standard rice noodle bowl for $13 (including tax). Chicken was plentiful and tasty. Noodles were a bit overcooked. The fish sauce was slightly sweet but didn’t have the tang that I’ve gotten at other Vietnamese restaurants. And no pickled veggies which are the best part! Not the worst rice noodle bowl but it the best either. No seating indoors. Sat on the front patio which was nice.
Marc K — Google review
Dragon House has a large and varied menu - something for everyone. I ordered Garlic Shrimp and chow mein. I called it in and the lady was super friendly. My food was ready when I got there. The restaurant is very clean, but definitely looks like a quick, take-out type place with some seating outside. But the food was fresh and flavorful (large portions for the price - two people could have eaten the dish I purchased). The shrimp were large and not overcooked. I'm definitely going back for some pork vermicelli.
Shauna W — Google review
I ordered a combination plate with chow mein, broccoli and beef and chicken. As you can see by the image there was only 3 pieces of the beef and the rest was broccoli. Don’t get me wrong the food was good, but when you’re paying close to $13 you expect to get a little than just vegetables.
Jack S — Google review
The bbq pork vermicelli bowl with egg roll is my favorite. I’ve requested less rice and double veggies and it’s a perfect balance for me.
Elena L — Google review
Ordered the orange chicken with chown mein and steamed rice. It was overall good. Nothing spectacular. Decent price for what you get. I didn't care for the chow mein to much. Noodles were a little big and dense for my taste. Would go back but not get chow mein.
