Nestled in the heart of colonial Merchants Square, Fat Canary is a refined bistro offering upscale American cuisine and an extensive wine selection. Operated by the same family behind The Cheese Shop, this fine-dining experience boasts a seasonal menu featuring dishes like crispy oysters, pan-seared sea scallops, and braised beef short ribs. Additionally, the establishment's wine cellar transforms into Downstairs at Fat Canary on select nights, offering a speakeasy-style ambiance.
Absolutely the best restaurant in Williamsburg. The quality of food and service is second to none in town. Exceeds our expectations every time, always feels refined and personal. Love this place.

Stopped in for appetizers and a cocktail. Excellent service, professional, and attentive. The food was delicious and they offered unique options to pick from. Rabbit was tender and flavorful, I recommend this dish to get your meal started.
Emily S — Google review
We sat in the basement and had delicious food. The cucumber salad on the ribs was amazing. The highlight of the night was the chocolate mouse. The bolognese had an almost asian spin but was very good. The duck was delicious with a sweet cherry glaze. The scallops were amazing. The fish tacos were amazingly well done. The crepes were not very good as they were stale. The shirley temple mocktail was excellent. The service was excellent. Highly recommend the basement.

We've enjoyed the Fat Canary several times, reserving a tables at the peak of the Christmas holiday season. You can make reservations as far out as 62 days, and the seating capacity is quite limited. It's a small restaurant nestled in the Old Williamsburg shopping area, so the ambience is not great, but most seats offer a view of the well-lit kitchen with the expert chefs busily preparing exceptional cuisine for the discerning guests. I don't usually add pics for my reviews, but here are some from our December '24 visit, and believe you me everything was exquisite and elicited oohs and aahs and smiles and adulation from each of our dining foursome. Even the drinks and appetizers were beyond reproach. There was Crispy Oysters; small, tender and super crispy and sweet, crusty Italian bread still warm, filet with stacked roasted potatoes, succulent rockfish, and seared sea scallops, all prepared to perfection and served simultaneously and very hot. Our waitress was informed, competent, kind, and timely in her presence. The meal was fabulous, among the best I have ever experienced anywhere. We will make our reservation for next year as soon as they will allow it. It's over an hour away from us, but we continue to hold it in such high esteem that it remains a must-do for several years running now, with no perceived loss of excellence. Highest Recommendation.

Every year (last 4 years), at certain day, we visiting Fat Canary for delicious food, excellent service and beautiful atmosphere. And off course, that all is not cheap. But, we will come back, soon 🤟😃 P.S. Dear Anastasia, I wish you will be our waitress for next visit. Thank you for the friendly attitude, quick and excellent service!!

Delicious food and cocktails, top notch service (Armen was fantastic) and a very nice space with a cheese/ general shop and beer/wine bar. The food & drinks were great!
Alex G — Google review
Amazing but expensive. Plan to spend $50 or more per person. This is a great place for a celebration. It is upscale but not fine dining. You'll want to have a reservation. Plan accordingly. I am an independent reviewer and accept no compensation. The Good: Everything was amazing. We had the beef tenderloin, the rabit, and the chicken. Wow! I don't say that lightly. The food is expensive, but a solid 5 stars. The beef was perfect. The cut. The cook. The sear was serious. It was simple but wonderful. The green beans were perfect. Nothing was mush. It had texture and flavor and minimum spice. The rabit was a take on chicken pot pie. From the crisp biscuits to the cream of the sauce, it was savory and delectable. Just know, none of the portions are particularly large. The rabit is an appetizer, so it will be smaller than a meal. The chicken is full of spices. It has a maybe turkish spice palate. At least l, that is the feel i get from it. The parm gnocchi is perfect. The mushrooms are not mush. You can quickly recognize, they just don't serve bad food. The service is on point. They even cycle out the utensils properly. I was very impressed. The atmosphere is not pretentious. We dressed up a bit but you don't need a tie. It is very clean. This is not a "paper napkin" place, but it also isn't a black napkin/table cloth place. They just keep their place sets clean and replace them when they are stained. Kudos! Well done. The bad: The only negative remark I can come up with, is the rosemary fries. They are large tender steak fries (just so you have a reference) but mine did not have a particular rosemary flavor. I would say, we don't need to know how the cheffs get paid. Just wrap it into the price. Glorifying something you should already be doing is tacky. The Ugly: absolutely nothing. Great job! It's expensive, but if you're willing to pay extra for a sure thing, a refined palate will not leave disappoint. If you want salt, greasy fast food... you may not feel fullfilled.

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful evening and dinner at Fat Canary. The food is well prepared, it looks nice and the taste is fantastic. The reservation and seating seems unique but maybe I just don't get out to restaurants like this often. Make sure you have a reservation. Plan on $100 per person without drinks.

Fine dining restaurant
King's Arms Tavern is a reproduction of an 18th-century Colonial establishment that offers hearty American specialties served by staff in period costumes. Originally opened in 1772, the tavern has been meticulously restored with colonial fabrics, furniture, and pewter. The menu features classic dishes such as seafood chowder, Brunswick stew, and Welsh rarebit. Additionally, the tavern provides a fine dining experience with fortified drinks like Peach Brandied Punch, Kings Arms Punch, and Sangaree Punch.
Fantastic atmosphere and service. 👍 Incredibly charming and unique experience. If you’re in the area, this restaurant is worth a visit. We were there for lunch with 3 kids and it was great! The unique menu includes some kid friendly options. 🍗 My daughter loved the fried chicken drumstick and mac & cheese! For the adults, I suggest ordering several plates to share. The iced tea is delicious and so refreshing, especially on a hot day.

A very unique experience to have while you are visiting Williamsburg. We started out a couple of cocktails, but really you should go for one of the punch bowls - it ended up being so much better and you didn't have to wait on the staff to serve you. Then we moved on to the iconic peanut soup, a potato chowder and stewed black eye peas, which came with different breads and relishes. The black eye peas were absolutely amazing and I would recommend passing on the peanut soup. For mains, we got the prime rib, the game pye, and To Stew a Shoat in the French Way. They were all excellent! We also were entertained by a fife and a fiddler, which added to the ambiance of the dinner. Aside from the food and atmosphere, the service was really lacking. We felt like we had to flag our server down multiple times for refills, questions, and ordering. Also when ordering she was very short and sometimes walked away before we were finished. In the end it was an experience that we enjoyed and would recommend to others visiting the area. Definitely get reservations. There was a line when we showed up and the restaurant was full the entire time we were there as there are not many food options within Colonial Williamsburg for dinner.
Emily F — Google review
I haven’t been to Kings arms in decades. I’ve actually had Thanksgiving dinner here and it was memorable. this time we stopped in for lunch and we had their famous peanut soup. I can’t stress enough how delicious the soup really King‘s arm is busy all day. We were fortunate that we came in at a perfect time and we were able to be seated right away. When we left there was a line of people outside waiting to be seated so if you can get a reservation I strongly suggest you do that.
RobertsMom N — Google review
We ended up miraculously getting a table the night we got into town without a reservation made previously. The atmosphere was top tier. Our waiter, Stephen, guided us through the menu, provided intriguing historical facts and stories, and was very attentive to our table all night. Dinner by candle light was a very cool experience. We especially enjoyed everything we got: prime rib, salmon and crab, the pork shank, and the bread pudding! The peanut soup was super fun to try and surprisingly yummy! I would also highly recommend the homemade root beer!
Olivia L — Google review
I came here for dinner my second night staying in Colonial Williamsburg. This restaurant is absolutely amazing. The ambiance and service is truly exceptional. My server Jennifer was friendly, attentive and very knowledgeable. I ordered the peanut soup and the salmon with crab and both were delicious and presented well. They don't have a large menu, but they have good options and prices are decent. Even though the restaurant is old fashioned, it is quite charming. You also get a little entertainment with your meal to make the patrons feel that they are in colonial times. Overall, I really enjoyed my first experience here and will definitely come back again the next time I drive down to Williamsburg.

Bread with 3 dips (butter, ham salad, and corn/pepper relish), crab croquettes, bread pudding, mashed potatoes, and veggies were all delicious! The roast duck was dry and a little bland. Service and atmosphere was fantastic. I recommend sharing because of the prices.
Mark J — Google review
Absolutely lovely experience here. I’m actually writing this a couple months after my visit because I just couldn’t stop thinking about it. The food is reasonably priced for the portions you receive, and not to mention tasty. I ordered the chicken hash. I’m not usually fond of bread bowls, but the soup was so delicious I ended up eating the bowl just because it soaked up all that flavor. The sparkling peach-orange juice we had was light and refreshing. Not too sweet, and the orange didn’t overpower the flavor of peach. The dining area is small in a nostalgic sort of way. The staff is friendly, attentive, and not too slow. Highly recommend!

We had an absolutely wonderful evening at King’s Arms Tavern. The three-course meal was outstanding from start to finish. Our servers, Stephen and George, were phenomenal—not only attentive and professional, but also full of fascinating stories that added to the historic atmosphere and made the whole experience extra special. For entrées, we ordered the prime rib, steak, and pork shank—each one cooked perfectly and bursting with flavor. The quality was top notch, and everything arrived beautifully prepared. Our kids had such a great time as well, which is always a bonus when dining out as a family. And then there were the desserts… simply phenomenal! We tried the poached egg, bread pudding, and chocolate torte—each one better than the last. It was the perfect ending to a memorable evening. If you’re visiting Colonial Williamsburg, King’s Arms Tavern is a definite must-visit. Between the delicious food, incredible service, and immersive atmosphere, it’s truly an experience you won’t forget.

French restaurant
Restaurant
Blue Talon Bistro, located in Merchants Square near Colonial Williamsburg's Historic Area, offers a mix of French bistro and traditional American cuisine. The sunny teal-and-tangerine space provides a comfortable setting to enjoy dishes like expertly crafted charcuterie, pate, New England clam chowder, and classic Steak Diane. The restaurant's breakfast and all-day menu includes sandwiches, salads, and main plates.
Don’t go to the broken egg don’t go to a Denny’s prices are higher there and the atmosphere is horrible. We had the pink lady hair and blue hair young lady who was an amazing server. Had a great time with her and the food was fantastic. I’m very affordable considering in Williamsburg highly recommend this place for breakfast. A brunch haven’t been here for dinner, but we’ll try that next time.
Kevin K — Google review
A very fun place with terrific food and drink options. The French Onion soup was really tasty - a subtle yet delicious broth with a nice layer of melted cheese. The Croque Madam is a wonderful sandwich. Our waiter, Kevin, provided attentive and friendly service.

Reserved a table for birthday dinner at this beautiful French café. They were not overly busy on a Thursday night, which created a relaxing atmosphere! The staff was pleasant, but on the slower side - I feel they may have been short. We ordered cheese fondue to start, which was a perfect blend, but not warm enough. For mains we had the lamb shank and steak which were both delicious and a good bit of food! For dessert we had the chocolate mouse, I only wish it came with more than one strawberry.
Julie L — Google review
Charming French café with a standout French toast — perfectly cooked and delicious. The biscuits and gravy had great flavor, but needed more gravy to really shine. The latte was average, nothing memorable.
Lidia T — Google review
We stopped into Blue Talon Bistro on a Thursday night without a reservation and quickly realized why the place was packed — the food is that good. We started with sharing the clam chowder, and it was amazing—my photo in the review doesn’t do it justice. Creamy, loaded with real clams, and easily rivaling some of the best we’ve had along the New England coast. It was so good, I ditched my original entree choice and ordered a full bowl for myself as my entree. My husband went with the cassoulet and was equally impressed, comparing it favorably to one made by his favorite chef in Chicago. That’s saying something. Thursday also happened to be half-price wine night, which was a great bonus. We sat at the bar since there were no open tables, and the bartender was fantastic — friendly, attentive, and really on top of things despite the busy crowd. Can’t wait to go back next time we’re in town!

This was the perfect first night dinner here in Williamsburg. Our food was absolutely delicious. The restaurant had a great vibe. The staff was attentive. We were well cared for, but we were not rushed out of there.
RobertsMom N — Google review
Absolutely incredible experience. We didn't have a reservation when we came in on a Saturday night but got lucky with seats at the bar. The staff were all friendly and made sure we were taken care of despite how busy it was. We ordered the Rotisserie chicken and the beef bourguignon both of which were delicious. The meat and vegetables were cooked perfectly, so much flavor, and generous portions of food. Then, we couldn't resist trying the chocolate mousse. Again, divine. Yes, it can get pricey, but we were here on vacation and prepared to splurge. You get what you pay for and this restaurant knows what they are doing. We'll definitely be back!
Hannah C — Google review
Blue Talon went above and beyond to accommodate my group of 65! Adam (manager/owner) was incredibly helpful from the start, working with me to create a customized menu that truly impressed my agents. One standout dish—the Cordon Bleu stuffed with ham and cheese—was not only massive but absolutely delicious. The desserts were just as memorable! The staff was friendly, attentive, and efficient in serving our large group. If you're visiting Williamsburg, this is a restaurant I highly recommend!

Berret's Seafood Restaurant and Taphouse Grill is a popular dining spot in Colonial Williamsburg's Merchants Square, serving fresh seafood and regional cuisine since 1983. The restaurant offers two dining options - Berret's Seafood Restaurant and the Taphouse Grill. Diners can savor a seasonal menu of regional seafood at the restaurant, while the Taphouse Grill provides an expanded wine list and a selection of microbrews.
We were looking for a nice sit down dinner and was not disappointed. Brandon was our server and I didn't believe mind readers existed until that day. Food was incredible I had the Blue plate and it was a great mix and very filling. The only "issue" I had is I felt the appetizer was very small for the price. Other than that everything was perfect creme brulee was shared and perfect size for doing so after a filling meal My husband got the snapper special which he was was wonderful I could see it getting loud if it was packed but it was quiet while we were there.
Kyla W — Google review
A perfect seafood experience! I started with a lovely warm rum and cinnamon cocktail, followed by todays special appetizer of shrimp & grits w/pork belly (simply divine) and Southern baked oysters (delicious). Then I had the Red, White & Blue plate which was salmon, scallops and a crab cake with mashed potatoes and veggies. I am a happy and full customer! My compliments to the chef!

Quite a delicious restaurant. We were in town for the week and wanted seafood, and this was a great choice just right next to Colonial Williamsburg. The staff was all super friendly, the restaurant was sectioned off into several different rooms. The server, James, was very attentive. Appetizers and food were wonderful, we got the seasonal Tuna and a mix of seafood. I would recommend going to try this restaurant.
Renee P — Google review
Very Tavern feel. Crab dip was warm and smoky a complete enjoyment. The chicken was dry (knocked off a star) but the meal was good. The wrap was big enough to share and took half home.

It's a really nice seafood place. the staff are courteous and efficient. got the fish and chips and boy, the servings are hefty and really hot! sooo good although didn't like the mashed green peas with it. the fish they had served was grouper and it was delish! it was fresh and not fishy at all. the chips were huge abd super hot, burnt the roof of my mouth lol i mean it smelled so good abd can't help it. i just wished they had malt vinegar as a choice of dips too.
Bunny C — Google review
We went back to this restaurant two days in a row because of the raw oyster. I never cared for raw oyster until I tried the raw oysters here. We ordered both James and York oyster along with Rockefeller and fried ones. If you want to try the authentic and original taste of the oysters, I will recommend just order the raw ones. The Rockefeller and fried oysters were not that different than other restaurants. Between James and York, I personally like the James ones. It’s smaller but sweeter. We also ordered their crab cakes and shrimp as well as a seafood combo. The crab cake was excellent and all the seafood were very fresh and tasty. We were also very impressed by their apple cobbler with ice cream on top. The one dollar raw oyster special cannot be beat. This really is the best place to try raw oyster and an excellent place for seafood. The music in the waiting area also added a really nice touch to the atmosphere. Because we were sitting at the outside tent, we got to enjoy the music for a while. Not sure how it feels like inside the restaurant. The server was very attentive, so were most of the staff there. Giving that this was at the toursy area of Williamsburg, I didn’t know about the quality of the restaurant at first. After I’ve been there twice, I feel very comfortable of recommending it to everyone.

We had the salmon cooked in parchment, and it was one of the best salmon meals I have had. The portions was very large (7oz) and perfectly cooked, and included fettuccine, spinach and grilled onions. A great meal.

Seafood restaurant in Colonial Williamsburg. We went without a reservation and only waited 20 mins. We ended up sitting outside, which, honestly, try to get inside from a comfort standpoint. The cushions on the iron chairs are too small and those chairs are just awful. Service was kind, knowledgeable and speedy. Main entrees were very good. Kids menu has the staples; tenders & pizza. Seafood was prepared just right. Crab cakes are blue crab with little breading; wonderful. Overall, and enjoyable experience

Nestled in a charming setting, Second Street American Bistro offers an elevated take on classic tavern cuisine. Owned by the Chohany brothers, this establishment has been delighting diners for over three decades with its inviting gold-hued decor and seasonal menus that showcase local ingredients. Guests can savor dishes like grilled salmon, prime steaks, homemade lasagna, and hearty burgers while enjoying the serene ambiance of the outdoor patio beside a tranquil koi pond—perfect for romantic evenings or casual gatherings.
I had a lovely evening at 2nd street bistro. And the experience was made wonderful by our server, Alex. He made great suggestions and was attentive. I enjoyed the chicken lettuce wrap. It had great flavor, a kick of spice, and was a great portion size.

Cool spot. Went to the bar Tuesday night (7/8/25 pics of menu are current to this post) around 8:30pm and had the Coconut pineapple colada cocktail. ($10) It was pretty good. Thicker than I expected, almost the viscosity of a smoothie? It's hard to explain. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. All around good atmosphere, a great place for a 2 top date. Get the enormous chocolate or carrot cake!
JASON B — Google review
Top 3 crabcake I've ever had, and I eat a LOT of crabcakes. This is what you call a LUMP crabcake, no filler. They look small but I could only eat one because it is full of crab. The salmon was also top tier. My husband raved about the fried grits. Oh, and the shrimp appetizer was perfect. Jamie was our server and she was excellent. I wish we lived closer but we stumbled across this place when we left Bush Gardens. It was amazing!

We had an amazing time. We went to celebrate my parents wedding anniversary and my son's birthday. The dinner was incredible. Our waiter was super busy but he was so great at caring for our table. We had a wonderful time.

We absolutely loved our first experience dining here. The cocktails were excellent, the apps were fantastic and the mains were also great. Everything from the food, cocktails and service was splendid. Definitely a must visit for dinner when visiting Williamsburg. I highly recommend ordering the burrata, and the Thai poppin shrimp. We had salads that evening since it had been a full day of eating, but next time we’re back I am trying some more substantial main entrees that looked great coming out to neighboring tables. There’s an outdoor seating area and then the main indoor dining area. When we arrived there was a wait, but we only waited about 10 minutes and the place was packed. There’s a reason this place is reviewed so highly and I’m happy to say it lived up to the hype.

We had an exceptional dining experience at 2nd St. American Bistro! From start to finish, our evening at 2nd St. American Bistro in Williamsburg was outstanding. The atmosphere was warm, inviting, and just upscale enough to make the night feel special without being stuffy. Our server, Duval, was absolutely fantastic—friendly, knowledgeable, and perfectly attentive without hovering. He made great recommendations and really added to the overall experience. The Old Fashioned I started with was very enjoyable. I ordered the bison meatloaf, and it was phenomenal—rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The texture was tender, and the seasoning hit all the right notes. The accompanying sides (mashed potato and steamed broccoli) were fresh and thoughtfully prepared, rounding out one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. Between the excellent food, top-notch service, and relaxing ambiance, 2nd St. American Bistro delivers on every level. It’s easy to see why this is one of Williamsburg’s local favorites. I’ll definitely be back—and asking for Duval again!

Food was very tasty. The chicken was super moist and delicious, a bit too sweet but would eat it again! Atmosphere nice and clean but the lighting is very dim in the restaurant. The service was good. The bread was fresh. Would go again.

I ordered delivery, a small pizza a kids cheeseburger and fries and a chocolate cake. Everything was HUGE, Cooked perfect, followed all request perfectly. The food arrived in 35–40 minutes to my hotel and this doesn’t matter at all. I was a little surprised Delivery driver was impeccably groomed and dressed like he was going to an important event. He was super Professional and called when he was close to the hotel. Entire order was just over $27 plus tax and a delivery fee that was under two dollars. It was $32. Forget DoorDash this place knows what they’re doing and the food is real good. the packet of ketchup is for scale so you can see how big the pizza is for a small

Enjoyed our dinner at this place! The service was great, our food came out very hot and fresh, and most importantly, each plate tasted amazing! Highly recommend if you’re passing through town or a local who is looking for an Italian joint.

This is my favorite Italian restaurant in Williamsburg. I have lived in Italy for years, and this is only local Italian restaurant that comes close to actual Italian food. Here you can get the typical Italian American food, calzones, parmigiana, lasagna, but make sure to try some of the dishes that make them special. Tortellini alla Parma, Pappardelle Al Ragu or the Chicken Saltimbocco or Fiorentina. You will not be disappointed! Their salads are quite basic, but if you add their house dressing to them, they are delicious. I have never been disappointed with a dessert I have ordered here. The carrot cake is exceptional! They also have a large variety of Italian wines that are hard to find anywhere else in Williamsburg.

This was one of the only options got dinner when we arrived into town a bit late. We were able to grab a table straight away without a reservation. The food was ok; the service was good.
C T — Google review
This spot can handle a crowd (as do their other locations). We enjoyed everything we had, including the fresh bread and house Italian salad dressing. While the cannoli was delicious, the tiramisu was incredible. Nice house wines. They switched sauce on the gnocchi for me to the vodka sauce. My son had the sampler platter which he said was delightful. It had different sauces for the different dishes.
H R — Google review
Ordered a pizza, pasta and tiramisu. Got food poisoning from the pasta. Not sure if the chicken wasn’t properly cooked or if the cream sauce was the issue. Didn’t have any other food that day which would have caused this, I felt really sick, hasn’t happened to me before with restaurant take out. The service was good with placing the order and picking up the order, but my experience with this meal makes me not want to order again from here.

A wonderful, fresh food experience. The service was impeccable for sure. A very fresh tasting pizza with quality ingredients. We'll be back.
Don B — Google review
This place presents as authentic and decent Italian food, and delivers decently as long as you understand that you are in an area that doesn't have great Italian cuisine. The lasagna was hot and fresh. The caesar salad was romaine and cheese with dressing in plastic cups. The pizza was typical. The wine list was decent selection and cheap for what they had. The owner was grumpy and unaccomodating (1.5 hours before closing). Overall a decent meal.

American restaurant
Restaurant
Center Street Grill is a laid-back dining spot in New Town Williamsburg that offers a unique twist on American cuisine. The restaurant features informal spaces, including a raw bar and patio, where patrons can enjoy live music. With daily happy hour specials and an extensive drink selection, it's the perfect place to unwind after a busy day. Guests rave about the diverse menu offerings, such as Philly Egg Rolls and Cordon Blu, which are described as exceptional.
When we arrived at Center Street Grill, we strolled past the patio on the way to the front door. While we enjoy eating outdoors, today we craved the air conditioning, as summer in Williamsburg can be a little stifling. As soon as we entered, Jacx greeted us warmly with menus and took us to a table a little farther into the dining room, along the back, near the large rooms for larger parties. Even the banquet rooms, filled with a party of 30+ people, were quiet to us, as there were glass windows for spaciousness between the rooms, but there were also doors that Matthew diligently and stealthily kept shut for the entirety of our stay. Matthew greeted Rusty and I cheerfully, with a plate in hand, the amuse’ bouche. This small offering of a crispy fried wonton topped with a flavorful Asian-inspired melange of diced tomatoes, black olives, and red onions in a refreshing vinegar dressing is meant to “amuse the mouth.” Matthew painted such an inviting picture with his description of the dinner specials that my husband and I ordered them. After we finished our amuse’ bouche, Matthew brought us a heaping plate of fresh out of the oven dinner rolls with some fancy whipped butter in a small ramekin, which made us feel relaxed. What’s a date night dinner without an appetizer? Short! There was no way that my husband and I were going to pass up on the opportunity to try one of Center Street Grill’s most famous fusion dishes, the Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls. Enrobed with crispy egg roll wrappers you’ll find American cheese, shaved Ribeye steak, and sauteed white onions, accompanied by a side of creamy scallion cheese dipping sauce. This appetizer was a robust, crunchy, creamy delight! My husband’s ribeye steak was grilled perfectly to his preference, medium rare, topped with a tornado of crispy fried onions, and paired with a heaping serving of fluffy mashed potatoes and grilled fresh asparagus. My husband’s mouth watered with each and every tempting bite of his ribeye steak, and I’ve never seen him so happy to have a plate in front of him. My crab cake entree featured two all jumbo lump meat crab cakes, garnished with a slightly spicy remoulade, and teamed up with herb roasted potatoes and garden fresh asparagus. The crab cakes were an unparalleled coastal delicacy, with each bite sending my taste buds on a blissful vacation. The herb roasted potatoes ruined me for all other forms of crispy potatoes in the future. To really lean into that vacation vibe, my husband and I decided to go with the key lime pie. Oh, what a tropical way to end our meal! Crunchy, cinnamony graham cracker crust, overflowing with key lime custard, garnished with a fresh lime slice, powdered sugar, and house whipped cream. Each bite was an explosion of sweet, vibrant key lime flavor, from real key limes from Florida, and not some juice bought at the store. So, you’re probably thinking, the food was clearly spectacular, so what about the service? Matthew checked on us at all the right times, and felt 100% available to us while still giving us plenty of privacy to spend our evening together. His upbeat, witty, and engaging personality, with the fantastic food, created a memory for us that we still talk about and remember fondly.

The only good thing about center street grille is that it was empty and we were able to get a last minute table for a large party. The food was mediocre and the waiter was a creep. We ordered sodas and they were flat, watered down and had a chemical taste to them so we stuck with water. When he would come around and refill our waters he would lean his body up against me which was very uncomfortable. He would then touch you when it was your turn to order and whisper in your ear about how good the food was. Very creepy and strange. I now understand why this place is empty for dinner on a Thursday. Wish I took the hint and stayed away

Food was well prepared. My wife loved the crab cakes. I had pork chops with peach sauce. The pork was tender, but I didn't care gor the sauce. Our Granddaughter tried the steak and cheese sandwich. It came open-faced and she didn't care for the mushrooms and raw onion that was under the melted cheese. The girls split a cheesecake and it was pretty good. Everything is on the expensive side...

Center Street Grill is one of our top go-to restaurants in Williamsburg. It has a very loyal, dedicated clientele base, and it’s always a wonderful experience. All the servers are terrific (Chelsea, Nicki, Ashley and Donna), but our absolute favorite is Matt Duffy. He is easy to talk to, very accommodating, and incredibly efficient. The food is very consistent, largely made from scratch, and they’re also incredibly flexible with any entree modifications or diet restrictions. The managers, Jacx and Michael J, are great hosts and make you feel like family. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Listen. This restaurant is the best experience. Whether you want to sit at the bar or have a family celebration or intimate date. The food here is more than impressive. Mouth watering. And with such care. The staff constantly checks on you and is so polite. This is my go to restaurant.
Chelsi J — Google review
The food and service at the Center Street Grill was great! I got a basic cheeseburger and my wife got a vegetable dish. Both were very well prepared and tasted great. Great deserts as well.
Michael B — Google review
Found this little gem of a restaurant because of an hour wait at our original dinner choice. Was able to get a spot on the small outdoor patio with some live music on such a nice night. Their spin on bruschetta was quite good (served on wontons instead of crostini). Enjoyed the rest of appetizers and entrees. Cubano was delicious. Server was friendly and very attentive with taking care of the rest of the patio.
Douglas K — Google review
Absolutely love each and every time I come here. We have had the pleasure of being served by Chelsea and Mathew (aka Duffy) on several occasions, they make you feel like family. Not only are they amazing but the food is amazing too. You must try the calamari, cheese steak egg rolls and the Risotto. They also have some great options for specialty drinks.

Awesome spot. I'm so glad I stopped in for lunch! 1pm Tue afternoon. The interior was nice, very pleasantly decorated. One large screen t v for sports fans. There was an outside fenced-in patio with umbrellas. The prices were extremely reasonable. Food came out hot & fresh. The service was prompted to the point, excellent!! I would definitely go back!!!

Well it’s Sunday Night … I guess everybody heard that we were going to go there and eat so they wanted to go there and eat too . 😂 Even though it was packed, Customer Service was great. Food was coming out nice and hot and the servers communicated with everyone. We ordered our favorite nacho supreme, but this time I added shrimp with mine, and the Mrs. ordered a margarita Icey. Everything was great . So if you have time swing on by the second Street to some good Hispanic food & service.

My company ordered catering trays for an event we were hosting. Jose, the owner, took the time to help me pick what to order and gave me very reasonable pricing. The food was delicious, the quantities were generous, and everyone left the lunch full and happy. If you're looking to order from a local business that's got it's ducks in a row for catering, this is the place.

Mellow Mushroom as a chain is incredibly inconsistent. But if you like it with WAY too much cheese and on the thicker end, you could do a lot worse! Good ingredients, ordered well done, excellent service! The sauce was especially good, I just wish I could taste it more. The insane amount of cheese blocked the flavor.

Took 1.5 hrs to be seated. Being right outside the Colonial site, we decided to wait. Plenty of seating while waiting and they text you when available so you can shop and wander about. Emerald Thai Cuisine is a vibrant eatery located in a strip-mall setting that offers an extensive menu of authentic Thai dishes. The establishment boasts a relaxed and colorful ambiance, providing customers with a delightful dining experience. The food is exceptional, prepared by talented chefs who skillfully craft traditional Thai cuisine. The staff members are friendly and attentive, adding to the overall pleasant atmosphere. Popular menu items include Veggie Tempura, Thai Tea, and Chicken drunken noodles.
A perfect place to dine after Busch Gardens or if you're traveling 64. My boyfriend said the shrimp mango curry was arguably the best curry he's ever had. I got the eggplant tofu and the other dish shown is the wild emerald chicken. Check out the bejeweled bathrooms too!

In town for a conference and craving fried rice, this spot delivered! The fried rice was flavorful and satisfying, and the sushi rolls were fresh and well-prepared. Great presentation, friendly service, and delicious food. Highly recommend for a quick, tasty meal.

The worst fresh garden rolls I have ever had. I asked for basil to be added to my roll that did not happen. The roll consist of a copious amount of iceberg lettuce, a slither of cucumber, carrots, and noodles not even the correct rice noodles. The peanut sauce top was not on tightly and spilled out. If I wanted a salad I would have ordered one. Never again!!!

The food at Emerald Thai Cuisine was absolutely delicious. We loved the basil fried rice, spring rolls with garlic plum sauce, and the masamon curry. The customer service was welcoming, friendly, and engaging. The food was one of the best Thai foods in all Virginia.

Emerald Thai was amazing! We had the crab rangoon for appetizer. They were a nice balance of crab and cream cheese. We alsohad a "sushi burrito" that filled with spicy tuna, tempura shrimp, crab, cucumber and avocado. It was made fresh when ordered. Just like a sushi roll but instead of being cut into individual slices, it was sliced on the diagonal at the middle and served so you can hold and eat like a "burrito." For entrée, I had the Spicy Basil Stir Fry with chicken. It was so flavorful. Sauce was slightly sweet and a little tart. The chicken was tender and the stir fry vegetables (onion, bell pepper, green beans, and zucchini) were cooked to perfection (slight crunch, not mushy and overcooked). Husband had the Prik King Beef (green beans, scallions, and tender beef in a red curry paste). It was delicious also.
Carrie S — Google review
This restaurant has a delightful and updated atmosphere, wonderfully pleasant staff and an authentic Thai menu. Try the fresh rolls, chicken satay, or fried tofu, with an iced Thai tea for an appetizer. The main courses are deliciously succulent, too. On this dining occasion I decided to try their signature, Emerald Thai rice platter, with pork, carrots, onions, scallions all fried together into jasmine rice with a fried egg on top. Emerald Thai Now features a full service sushi bar with all of your favorite rolls. My partner and I absolutely love this restaurant. Oishii Japanese Ramen & Hibachi Grill is a casual establishment that offers a variety of Japanese dishes such as ramen noodle soups, sushi, hibachi-grill options, and more. The chefs showcase their skills by preparing food at the tableside grill or serving fresh and uncooked delicacies at the sushi bar. The service is attentive, and there is an extensive selection of wines and beers available. This restaurant can be found in local guidebooks with coupons for added value.
This place is pretty close to the college football stadium (about 4 or 5 blocks), and the atmosphere is pretty chill due to the low tempo and friendliness of the staff. There are a lot of restraunts that allow you to take your dog with you while you eat. There is a public parking garage very near to the shops and restraunts, the parking is free for the first 4 hours and then like 1 per hour after and another option for 24 hours. If you swipe your card and do not enter a fee, it will assume you are going for under four hours, but you need to register your vehicle license plate and swipe your card either way. The walk has a lot of brick and some of it is pretty loose, so be careful and have fun visiting!
Johnny5 — Google review
When I moved to the area back in March, I decided to give this place a try. I've been going back ever since. My favorite is the Karagge (nice and crispy), pork dumplings, and the katsu chicken. The sushi is great too. Haven't had a bad thing yet! The pricing is super affordable and it has a nice chill vibe inside. You can order to go or eat there. It is small inside and we tend to go early in the dinner rush, but they turn out food very quickly, so there's never a long wait. Definitely try them!

Nice and casual little joint, but the tonkotsu broth with pork ramen hardly tastes like ramen at all. Shockingly sweet and bland. With carrots on top for some reason. I’ve had tastier noodles come out of a $3 bag.
David L — Google review
So the food was really good, however something really crazy happened while we were waiting on our food. We sat down at the only table that would hold six people, and my daughter and I sat on this extremely rickety bench. We were careful not to even move as it was so unsturdy. All of a sudden my daughter tried to scoot over and BANG CRASH!!! Next thing I knew we were on the ground. I mean the whole thing collapsed. Kind of hurt a little bit too. The cashier peaked over from behind the counter and asked if we were okay lol and that was it. I mean I'm not really sure what should be done in that situation but it felt like more needed to be done lol.

Restaurant
Munchies Southern Soul is a hidden gem that promises an unforgettable culinary experience. Imagine indulging in their Southern peanut soup, which offers a delightful twist with added lemon juice for zest and a hint of heat from hot pepper. The secret ingredient, brown sugar, elevates the flavors to new heights while kosher salt ensures everything is perfectly seasoned. During my recent visit on a Saturday evening, I encountered a bit of a wait for food, but let me tell you—it was absolutely worth it!
Delicious Food, Great Service – Just a Bit Pricey for the Ambience I ordered the shrimp fries, and let me tell you – they were perfectly seasoned. Easily some of the best shrimp fries I’ve had in a long time! Whoever is in that kitchen knows exactly what they’re doing. The lemonade was also super refreshing and flavorful – definitely a must-try. What makes this place even better is that it’s a small restaurant where they make everything fresh to order. It might take 10–15 minutes, but the wait is absolutely worth it. Plus, the staff is very friendly, and the owner's son was there, adding a personal touch to the experience. The only downside is that the prices are a bit on the higher side compared to the ambience. It’s a humble spot, so the pricing might catch you off guard. But overall, the food and service make up for it. Would definitely recommend it if you're looking for something freshly made and full of flavor!
Snehashis M — Google review
The food here was hot and fresh. I ordered the chicken wings, yams and macaroni and cheese. The wings were crispy and perfectly cooked. The yams were good just a bit chunky for me and the sauce was too loose for my taste but still enjoyable. Mac and cheese looked like it was maybe cooked the day prior but it was good enough to eat. My wife had the crab cakes, green beans, and yams. She felt the same way about the yams as I did. She loved the greens beans. The crab cakes consistency was off. There wasn't enough or any binder put in the mixture. They were mostly wet ingredients instead of a mixture of wet and dry.
Ralphael B — Google review
I’m not sure who food these people leaving reviews grew up eating but the sides were not good. Can collards, can yams (I knew when the yams came out light and that juice was watery they wouldn’t be good), cabbage bland. Cabbage can be basic and make it taste good! Smoked turkey, chicken broth, pepper! The chicken was PERFECT. Light brown, crispy, seasoned. And the Mac and cheese was good. The crab cake had not flavor either. The sweet tea was good.
LaVar C — Google review
Overall not bad. Food came out hot and fresh. Wings were not bad. They were cooked pretty well. Mac and cheese I do recommend though! Had a nice crust on top and was really good for the price.
Darrin — Google review
I ordered salmon pasta the pasta was very dry. The salmon was very dry with no type of taste. I also ordered chicken blackened chicken Alfredo. The chicken was very dry again no sauce. We did get two orders of collard greens. Them were good.
Cyia C — Google review
Beautiful restaurant and quick customer service. These reviews has me 2nd questioning what food these people are use to eating. This is by far the worst soul food, yet restaurant food I have ever tasted. The yams taste like vodka and super watery. The Mac n cheese is super salty, cheese didn’t even melt. The chicken sliders are decent but wouldn’t recommend. I’m honestly lost for words, this is disgusting. Edit: This is my first time leaving a review on any restaurant… yes it was that bad. I also wanted to mention the sides were frostbite as if they been stored in a freezer for a few weeks. I should have known when the two families who were dining in plates were still full of food as they were leaving.
Raheem M — Google review
This by far was the nastiest soul food I've had ever! I had liver and onions in gravy. The liver was tough and very salty. The gravy was loose and runny and very salty also. The greens were horrible! Tasted like burnt bouillon cubes. My friend ordered 2 fried wings dinners. They too were extremely salty with nasty greens. Never ever again!

The worker got there 20 minutes late and lied to us saying they opened at 2 even though the website said 1. She hid in the back which seemed very odd. Also skippys is the exact same as pelicans just more dingy. Therefore if I could I would rate 0 out of 5 stars.
