Deli
If you're looking for a delightful dining experience, First Carolina Delicatessen is the perfect spot to grab a meal to go. Imagine surprising your date with an impromptu picnic at one of Greensboro's beautiful parks or even after a scenic hike on Owls Roost Trail. This charming deli offers classic soups like chicken noodle and clam chowder, sticking to beloved favorites rather than unusual combinations.
I stopped by First Carolina Delicatessen during one of my DoorDash pick-up orders, and let me tell you—this place is calling my name! I’m definitely coming back one day to try their sandwiches because they look way too good to pass up. There’s just something about this deli that screams original. You can feel it the moment you walk in—it has that classic, authentic vibe that’s hard to find nowadays. To top it off, when I read the reviews after leaving, it was like the cherry on top of an already great impression. Everyone seems to love this place, and now I completely understand why. The girls at the register were so nice and welcoming, which made the experience even better. I seriously can’t wait to come back and see what all the hype is about firsthand! If the sandwiches taste as good as they look, I know I’m in for a treat. Update 1-25-25: First Carolina Delicatessen is a gem! I stopped in recently and ordered a build-your-own sandwich. My creation included ham, Swiss cheese, cherry peppers (they don’t have banana peppers, but trust me, the cherry peppers are just as good), salt & pepper, oil, lettuce, and tomato on white bread. It was absolutely delicious. Every flavor in the sandwich was perfectly balanced—the savory ham and creamy Swiss paired beautifully with the fresh veggies. And those cherry peppers? Wow! They’re spicy as heck, but they add such a unique kick to the sandwich that I couldn’t get enough of them. The sandwich also came with a side of chips and a slice of pickle, both of which were nice additions. One thing I love about this spot is the unique ingredients they offer, like the cherry peppers. I’d never heard of them before coming here, but now I’m hooked! I can’t wait to come back and try more from their menu. If you’re looking for a spot that offers fresh, flavorful food with a twist, First Carolina Delicatessen is a must-visit. Highly recommend!

I took my friend out to eat lunch and we chose First Carolina Delicatessen because other reviewers had indicated that the club sandwich was good. The first thing I noticed was the vibe of the place. Everyone, I mean everyone, who worked there was helpful, friendly, and smiling. My friend got the club sandwich, and I got the "Italian Sailor" sandwich, both coming with ruffled potato chips and a dill pickle spear. Both our sandwiches were delicious and toasted to perfection. We asked our server about the dessert selections and were surprised to find there were lots more things available than were even listed on the menu. My friend got a snickerdoodle cookie and I got the "Magic bar," both of which were delicious. The atmosphere is busy, but pleasant, the ideal mix of a small cafe and a deli. There were comfortable tables, booths and some covered outdoor tables and seats. We were very pleased with the quality and pricing of the food and plan to return!

We stumbled across this deli while driving down I-40 West, just looking for something different than the usual chain—and wow, what a find! From the moment we walked in, Alexander at the counter was absolutely precious. He was so friendly, helpful, and engaging, taking time to share his own favorites and talk us through the menu. I ordered the Arlington, and my son got a turkey sandwich and they were fantastic. Alexander even let us sample the chicken salad and pimento cheese—both were phenomenal! Everything was fresh, flavorful, and made with care. This little spot is definitely worth the stop. I’ll absolutely be back, and I highly recommend it to anyone passing through—you will not be disappointed!

Awesome selection of delicious sandwiches and subs! I don't know if there's another place around with more variety. Friendly service, food came out quickly, and the waitresses were very welcoming. I see why they stay so busy

First Carolina is delicious - haven't met a sandwich I didn't like there yet. This is the Asbury - chicken and prosciutto - every bite delicious. I ate half of it before being able to stop and get a photo.

This is such a good place. Today was the second time I've been here.. (brought my mom for lunch) and the food and service have been amazing both times. Such a cool atmosphere, too. I got the Sky Dog (get it hot!), which has Corned Beef, Turkey, Imported Ham, Provolone, Swiss, American, Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, Oil and Vinegar on a Sub Roll. It's incredible. Definitely check this place out.
Mike R — Google review
Great food, great atmosphere but perhaps most importantly, great people. Every employee smiled, made eye contact, welcomed us and seemed to truly appreciate us being there. We also couldn’t help but notice they have employed an impressive young woman with disabilities. Thank you for setting an example for others of what is possible. We will return!

Always a good place to eat. Affordable prices. This menu is updated as of July 2025. I like that the sweet tea is only $1.75.

Print Works Bistro is a refined restaurant offering creative New American cuisine and an extensive wine selection. Green Valley Grill exudes an old-world ambiance with its beamed ceiling and classic decor. Print Works Bistro is renowned for its handcrafted cocktails and has been recognized as one of the top brunch restaurants in America by Food & Wine.
Incredible brunch experience at Print Works Bistro! The atmosphere is stunning bright, elegant, and thoughtfully designed. It feels upscale yet totally comfortable, perfect for a relaxing meal with friends or a special occasion. Brunch is served daily and every dish we tried was top-tier. You can tell everything is made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Service was attentive, friendly, and made us feel right at home. This is easily one of the best brunch spots in Greensboro. I’ll definitely be back and recommending it to everyone I know!

As you walk too the front door of the Hotel, you're greated and welcomed into a beautiful view of the hotel. You then creep slowly down a set of spiral stairs, into a sitting area, follow a glass path, and wind up at a beautiful restaurant! The staff greets you and seats, and an amazing time happens. The French inspired dishes hit all the notes, though we did have 1 hiccup, and sent back the risotto, as it was not creamy, but a little mushy, but they replaced the meal with another with 0 fuss. Everything went exceptionally well, and the staff made it even better with their attention to detail. The French inspired meals hit the right melodies and notes of buttery, fatty, French cooking techniques, the wine pairings were great, steaks to temp, abd accompaniments all sang quietly!

This place is always excellent. The food and service are fantastic. Honestly, it’s a pretty good value as well. Is it cheap? No. But still an excellent value for what you get. I had the grilled filet Mignon. It was outstanding. We celebrated a birthday on this trip. The kept the cake in the cooler for us and sliced it and brought it to the table. We’ll go back for sure. Also, don’t sleep on their breakfast. The only reason I’m not giving atmosphere 5 stars is because we could hear someone in the kitchen screaming a few times during the meal.

This lovely Bistro is inside Proximity Hotel. It is decorated in 1940's fashion inside. Great service. We started with beignets (not the ones I'm use too but delicious with the chocolate sauce and honey). I had the quiche Lorraine, thick and delicious. Others in my party had eggs Benedict and a hash with eggs, they loved them. Highly recommend.
Tami S — Google review
I really loved the restaurant. It’s a beautiful place and the service was exceptional. The prices are reasonable and not extreme compared to other spots. The only dishes we truly enjoyed were the pork and the Saturday special, but overall the food wasn’t anything amazing. I wouldn’t go back just for the food, but it’s definitely a lovely place to go if you want to make a good impression for a birthday or special celebration.
Aniel — Google review
The restaurant was absolutely beautiful!! The roasted garlic that comes with the bread was delicious!!! We ordered the beef meatballs as our appetizer. They were good. My mom ordered the trout and I ordered the beef short ribs. I wish I went with my first mind and ordered the trout as well because the short ribs were underwhelming. The short ribs were tender but lacked flavor. The short rib meal came with sautéed spinach and a potato cake. The potato cake was so delicious but you only get a small one. My mom enjoyed her trout meal that came with quinoa and sautéed kale. We did not order dessert since we were planning to go to an ice cream shop not far from the restaurant. Our waitress was not very attentive. We had to ask for her which did not leave a great impression. Overall, I would not return.
Annie — Google review
Very pretty place! The service was extremely slow but I’m pretty sure it’s because of our particular server. He wasn’t attentive and he would go missing randomly. I had to track down another server so we could get our check. The food was ok but was quite salty. We got the porkchop and the scallop risotto. The cocktails we ordered had to be sent back, one of them tasted like NyQuil. The desert was the best part with a delicious chocolate sauce snd ice cream.
Symone M — Google review
Print Works Bistro – Total Disappointment I’ve been coming here for years with friends and clients since buying my seasonal home in Greensboro and always enjoyed it, but this visit was a disappointment. I sat at the bar, asked for a dessert menu after half my meal, and the bartender never came back to take my order. After waiting about 20 minutes, I told her to just bring the check. The to-go box she gave me was cheap and completely unsuitable for my meal. When I told the person in charge, she only said, “I’m sorry,” without any concern. Sadly, not the service or attention to detail I expected from a restaurant I once considered to have such high standards.

Lucky 32 Southern Kitchen is a farm-to-table restaurant that offers elevated Southern cuisine with a relaxed atmosphere. With an outdoor veranda, this establishment is popular for diners who enjoy flavorful and fresh food favorites. Supporting local farmers, Lucky 32 also takes steps to be sustainable with their meal choices!
This place just made top 3 dining experiences of ALL TIME! Surprised by how upscale the place was, I was greeted with pleasant smiles and a seat waiting for me. Easily some of the friendliest staff I've interacted with in a long time. The food and presentation was impeccable and I look forward to a return trip with colleagues to show them my savvy. Take the date or longtime partner for an impressive memory!
Grant D — Google review
Lucky 32 feels upscale, but the prices are super reasonable in comparison to the atmosphere. The menu is carefully crafted. It was hard to choose what to order. Their grits were perfection. My husband raved about the bacon wrapped meatloaf. An artist was creating a large piece live as we were dining. If the bathrooms in a restaurant are gross, I always feel suspicious about the cleanliness elsewhere. The bathrooms were immaculate. The only thing that was noted that wasn't top notch was that the service seemed to be slow (waiting to pay and get our card back) for the amount of customers dining at the time we were there. We weren't in a hurry, so it wasn't a big deal. Overall, we were impressed with Lucky 32 and would recommend it.
Jordon H — Google review
I recently had the most incredible dining experience at Lucky 32 Southern Kitchen. The star of the show was undoubtedly the grilled salmon, which was cooked to absolute perfection. The fish was incredibly flaky and moist, and the Texas Pete glaze added a sweet, tangy heat that was just divine. It's a flavor combination I didn't know I needed, and now I can't stop thinking about it. The sides were just as fantastic. The fresh string beans were crisp and vibrant, a perfect counterpoint to the richness of the main course. And the cheesy grits? They were creamy, savory, and the ideal comfort food. Each element of the plate worked in harmony, creating a truly unforgettable meal. My server was new and still learning the ropes, which is totally understandable. While she was very sweet, there was one moment of a minor misstep. I feel it's worth a mention for future training purposes: she reached over my plate to clear an empty dish from the person next to me. A simple fix for this would be to walk around the table to retrieve the dish instead. But honestly, the food was so stellar that this small hiccup was easily overlooked. Overall, I highly recommend Lucky 32 Southern Kitchen, especially for this specific dish. It's Southern comfort food elevated to a new level, and I can't wait to go back and have it again.

First-time visit—definitely won’t be our last! We were traveling through the area and decided to stop in at Lucky 32 for the first time. From the moment we walked in, we loved the atmosphere—warm, welcoming, and cozy. Our waitress was incredibly nice and very attentive throughout our meal. We ordered the pan-fried chicken and WOW—absolutely phenomenal! I chose collard greens and mashed potatoes as my sides, and everything was perfectly seasoned and delicious. Hands down, one of the best meals we’ve had on the road. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in the area!

I had dinner at the Bar on a Tuesday night. Great Service and Great Food. Tables were full, Bar was half full. I had the Catfish($23) and Sm Ceasar salad($5). Highly recommend. My bill was $53 but I also had a bourbon and red wine.
Joe M — Google review
Delicious! We visited tonight and ordered the black bean cakes and bacon wrapped meatloaf- both were so tasty!! We were immediately seated and our food came out, piping hot, soon after ordering. Highly recommend!
Hannah M — Google review
The service did was great, the service was top notch - Noah treated us with care. The she-crab soup had wonderfully bright flavors. The bone- in pork chop was tender and the collard prefecture seasoned. The pleasant atmosphere of the patio rounded out the dinner beautifully. We will return.
Cindy K — Google review
Beautiful space, cocktails were fabulous, dishes were ordered were good but we have had better shrimp and grits; the brown sauce was a little off putting. The caesar salad was disappointing with too much leafy greens.

Pho Hien Vuong is a laid-back Vietnamese restaurant known for its specialty pho noodle soups, including options for vegetarians. It's considered the gateway to Vietnamese cuisine in the city and offers approachable versions of Vietnamese classics and select Thai standards. The menu features a house special beef noodle soup and a vegetarian pho option.
The pho here is an absolute must— you can taste the authenticity with each bite. The broth was super flavorful & the beef was tender and the portions were perfect for the price! Also tried their wings and the level of crunch and flavor on the wings were on point. Super fast service, nice and friendly staff. Will 100% be back!

Food was delicious!! Waitress wasn’t really engaged into the service but she was respectful. Hot tea was perfect & lemonade was good. Broth could have been a bit hotter. Good flavor. Bean sprouts made the experience worth it. 8/10 will be going back for another round of PHO.

I’ve been coming here for years and decided to finally do a review. This place has always been delicious. The staff is friendly and they have a really affordable lunch special. Today I did the Chicken curry lunch special with the Thai style wings. Everything was hot and exactly what I wanted. I’ve never dined in, but I appreciate the great quality even though I’ve always done to go. It’s always ready within 15 minutes or less.
Christal — Google review
Great authentic Vietnamese food. Had the shrimp spring roll (fresh), it was good but I have had better. Next was TomYum soup w shrimp. This was unreal good. Flavorful and the mushrooms were some of the best, tasted like meat. Last I had PH3 Beef Pho. This was perfect, condiments were plentiful. I can’t say enough. Wish other people were w me so I could try more. Worthy spot!
MATTHEW S — Google review
This place was a nice surprise! First of all the front parking lot can look quite full but there's plenty of room in the back. We're looking for a Vietnamese restaurant and ended up here. They also feature several Thai dishes. If you're looking for a great appetizer you should consider the Thai basil wings. Those were amazing! I would be tempted to order a bunch of them just as my meal! The red curry was excellent. The service was good too. Greensboro seems to have some fantastic dining opportunities and this would be one of them.
Myron J — Google review
Service was great, the food was delicious! We ordered Pad Thai, seafood fried rice, and Tom kha soup large with shrimp and white rice. I would recommend ordering the small soup, unless you want left overs. The large soup would have been enough for 2 or even 3 of us! Delicious leftovers for me!

I love Pho and Vietnamese foods in this place. It's a little bit far from my house but I usually come to enjoy Pho on the weekend. They also have a good appetizer and fried rice. Good place for eating

Undercurrent Restaurant, an upscale New American dining establishment in Greensboro, has been delighting patrons with locally sourced dishes and exceptional service since 1988. The elegant white-tablecloth setting makes it a popular choice for special occasions like anniversaries or birthdays, as well as intimate date nights. Families seeking an affordable yet refined dining experience will also find Undercurrent to be a perfect destination.
We really loved our first visit to Undercurrent. I say first because we'll definitely be back. The most obvious benefit is that it's a couple of blocks from the Tanger Performing Arts Center. That being said, we enjoyed every aspect of our dinner. The service was top notch. There was a variety of food options, and we really loved every bite. The tuna starter was delicious, and we had trout and salmon wish were both beautifully presented and absolutely delicious!
Patrick T — Google review
The atmosphere is open and bright. Not great or attentive service. Has the butternut squash soup and beef and lentil soup. It was very good. The lobster and shrimp spring rolls were highly recommended but I didn’t care for them. The sauce was not authentic and the stuffing inside was too much filling and not much lobster or shrimp. We had the special of filet minion with crab and shrimp on top. It was delicious and tender. The arugula salad in the side was okay, the dressing was very tangy. Probably wouldn’t recommend or come back.
Pam B — Google review
Let me say how when we walked in we got smiles so it was very nice. When we sat down at the table we probably waited 10 minutes before we got the first person to come and say anything. That was disappointing for sure but once we had the server came she was nice and accommodating. We were supposed to get bread at the beginning but probably 10 to 15 minutes later she came and said she was baking some and it will be out in a bit again waiting for something. Then the bread came out then another 20 minutes then out dinner came out so it was an easy 30 minutes for the food. The food was on point very good no complaints about that at all we all enjoyed it. Overall a good experience we would go again just not in a hurry too.

Food is good—not exceptional. Great service and ambience. Very pricey. Overall, a decent dining experience.

Many kudos to the mixologist- our cocktails were definitely a highlight of our experience. Service given by Savannah was excellent. We had the crab cake and the ribeye as the main courses, and both were well-seasoned. Really appreciated the casual, quiet atmosphere so that we could chat during our date night. Price for the food quality and quantity was actually lower than we expected. We would come back.
Dana H — Google review
Food was very good , all that you would want from a good restaurant. The only issue was that is was very loud, the sound in the building travels very easy , so you can hear everything and nothing at the same time . That was my only issue having to talk over the other people . Great food. The Mocktails where very good.
Mohamed C — Google review
I have visited Undercurrent a handful of times and it has always been fabulous! They change the menu a little seasonally. My absolute favorite at the moment is the skillet seared salmon. I get mine well done, but paired with the pesto linguini it’s phenomenal! The service and atmosphere is always great.

Me and my friend wanted to get a nice dinner before seeing a show at the tanger theater. We did not have reservations. Our mistake. BUT a very sweet guy accommodated us and was soo very sweet!!!!!!!! My night out for the first time in awhile without my baby and that man made my night even more wonderful!!! The services and food was top notch!!!! We definitely will be back!!!! Highly recommend!! ❤️

Liberty Oak is a high-end American restaurant located in a restored building dating back to 1883, offering an attached patio for outdoor dining. It is renowned for its exceptional cocktails and delectable food, making it an ideal choice for a romantic dinner. The restaurant takes pride in using only the finest quality ingredients, sourcing meats from local farms and fruits from nearby orchards.
Our first visit here and we were not disappointed. The Liberty Oak's staff was friendly and the food was very delicious. Our server, Laurel, was fantastic and attentive. My dish, ribeye steak (medium rare), was perfectly prepared and super tender. As a steak lover, this was among the best I've had.... and I've had plenty. The truffle fries and fried oysters were tasty and different, very good. Red Velvet cake and Stawberry shortcake desserts were very delicious. This spot is a hidden gem in downtown Greensboro and I highly recommend giving them a try. You won't be disappointed.
Lee D — Google review
We were surprised at the decor. The bar area is nicer than the dining area. The food was subpar. I’ve had shrimp & grits from plenty of establishments and this is the first time I wasn’t given a spoon. The grilled asparagus was awful (our server took it off the bill). The best thing about our dinner was the Pepsi and the waitress.
Kedrick H — Google review
The food was good. The service was great. I like the decor as well. I do think the food is a little overpriced. The fried oysters are so delicious! The shrimp and grits are scrumptious!!! I highly recommend. Steak risotto was good and the burger was too. Our server was awesome! She was very friendly. I took one star off because the burger and steak wasn't cooked as ordered but it was still delicious! I didn't like the crabdip pita. The drinks were good as well. I will return. I also don't like parking downtown but that's not their fault lol. Overall this is a great restaurant!

Mixed bag. The pile of trash in the street out front was a little shocking but it's downtown...Our waitress was fantastic, no complaints only compliments. The biggest negative was that the general feeling among our party was that the Liberty was just not that special anymore. Paper napkins and K&W level cutlery are not the hallmarks of a once great eating establishment. No bread service or dinner rolls just pita slices further added to our disappointment. The short ribs were great as was the salmon but I'm not sure how to classify the $35 Ribeye...other than to say that ownership can do better. People will pay for a great steak so don't cheap out. The bathrooms were really clean. I really want to go back so hey ownership guys step your game up.

I'm extremely disappointed, 60 dollars for 2 plates of this.. the vegetables are definitely frozen and bland.. salmon ok, but this is definitely not worth 60 bucks just salmon laid on top of frozen veggies.. and it was my first and probably last time going here. The owner responded that it was a 16.00 plate I can definitely show my receipt, I literally paid 57.00 for 2 plates of this

Incredible food with an open kitchen where you can watch the chefs and the atmosphere is amazing with a dining room that contains an original tin ceiling and an awesome bar with woodwork over 100 years old. The food ranges from fancy well seasoned short rib risotto, blackened salmon with succotash, shrimp and grits that is better than I had on Bourbon Street in New Orleans. There is a gorgeous outdoor patio with plenty of seating and they are even pet friendly with the outdoor area. They have a great wait staff and the best thing is they are owned by a local family and the owner is actually the chef working in the kitchen and completely hands-on.

First visit after a visit to the Civil Rights Museum in Elm Street. Great service and creative menu. 2 in my party and we ordered the Short Rib Grilled Cheese and I had the tomato soup and 1/2 turkey and havarti sandwich. Great food and excellent service. A pleasant spot in Downtown Greensboro, recommended!

This was a relatives favorite place and we found ourselves in Gbo and decided to hit it up in her honor. Just as good as I remembered. I had the shrimp and grits and truly one of best iterations of that dish I've ever had. One dining partner got the Dynamite shrimp appetizer and the other got the Sargent Pepper. Sandwich with pasta salad. We all enjoyed it. Sometimes the old favorites are a disappointment but not this place. Kind of like that old face sweatshirt that fits better and just makes you feel good. Our server was great and that dining room is just too cool. Great bar and a small but eclectic craft beer selection.

Nestled just west of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Lindley Park Filling Station is a charming eatery that has transformed a former gas station into a vibrant dining destination. With its inviting earth-tone decor and cozy ambiance featuring wood furnishings and bar seating, this spot exudes warmth and comfort. The menu boasts an array of creative sandwiches, burgers, and delightful brunch options like smoked salmon quiche and cinnamon French toast.
Great lunch spot!! Outdoor and patio seating available but the inside is just as cool! It is a former gas station turned pub-like restaurant. It is a little small inside but has so much character and a cozy atmosphere! The food was....perfect! *chefs kiss* The menu variety is excellent for everyone, even vegetarian and gluten free! Must try if you're in the neighborhood. It is well worth it! I will definitely be back! *pictured is "The Waverly" and the Greek chicken special!*

A Hidden Gem in Lindley Park — Lindley Park Filling Station If you ever find yourself in Greensboro, North Carolina, do yourself a favor and head over to Lindley Park — one of the coolest little vintage neighborhoods around. It’s the kind of place where sidewalks are lined with towering trees, people are out walking their dogs, riding bikes, and strolling to nearby restaurants, all surrounded by charming craftsman-style and vintage homes. Tucked right into this picture-perfect neighborhood is one of my absolute favorite spots: Lindley Park Filling Station. This place is a true neighborhood gem — cozy, casual, and consistently delicious. Their menu is full of unique, creative sandwiches (most of them cleverly named after nearby streets), hearty salads, delicious soups, and amazing grass-fed burgers. My go-to is always the salad sampler: a fresh house salad with their incredible honey balsamic vinaigrette, a scoop of egg salad, their southern pasta salad, and my personal favorite — the roasted red pepper rosemary chicken salad, served with warm pita bread. It’s the perfect mix of flavors, and it never disappoints. Today, I treated myself to a slice of their key lime pie, and wow — it was absolutely excellent. You can really tell everything is made in-house with care, from the sandwiches to the desserts. The service here is always top-notch too. Even when they’re busy (and they always are — which tells you something!), the staff is friendly, efficient, and welcoming. Lindley Park is packed with great dining spots — from Sticks and Stones Clay Over Pizza (best in GSO) and Emma Key’s Burgers to Freeman’s Grub and Pub, Fish Bones, Scrambled, and Hop’s Burger Bar. If you’re in the area, I highly recommend stopping by this neighborhood favorite. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, it’s well worth a visit! If you are a High Point peep, it’s very reminiscent of Emerywood Fine Foods.

An adorable converted gas station, with a nice spacious patio, small deck, and indoor seating. Nick, our sever was absolutely fantastic, a rare experience dining out today. The food was fresh, tasty, and brought out promptly. We enjoyed our visit.

I had a great experience at Lindley Park Filling Station! The food was delicious, and the service was incredibly friendly and welcoming. I tried the Summerfield burger, which features 100% grass-fed beef from Summerfield Farms, and it did not disappoint—fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The laid-back atmosphere made it a perfect spot to enjoy a meal. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more from their menu!

Nice little place. Unpretentious. Comfy. Recommend. Good sandwiches / wraps. Nice selection of alcohol which I would really have enjoyed but I had a long drive ahead of me. It seemed VERY popular, I had to park in the empty lot of another business. Fast and very pleasant service. My server did forget to bring a soda I requested and forgot to check back with us, we had to wave her down. Overall nice place.

Great portions, both my son and I left stuffed. Server was nice and attentive and the food came out quick fresh and hot. Honestly the only reason for 4 stars for atmosphere is due to we were there in the middle of the day and not a lot was going on, but overall pleasant and no complaints

Menu has a ton of great options so it was hard to choose. We went with the fried green tomato sandwich and Ridgeway. They were both delicious. Also have a diverse cocktail menu. We went with their vanilla drink on special and the Garden Party. Would come back again!

This was my first time going here for lunch on a Saturday. We arrived and had to wait 20-25 minutes. My family and I still decided to look at other places in the area while waiting but committed to stay with our reservation and glad we did! We sat outside on the patio, which had fans and there was ample outdoor space with umbrellas to shield from the beaming sun. The music was great! The service was even better as our server was attentive and enjoyable to speak with. I ordered the Madison Avenue with fries after receiving the suggestion from a frequent patron and it was delicious. The Lavender Lemon Drop is not something I usually order as I don’t like sweet cocktails but I’m sure others would enjoy. The presentation was pretty though. My family all ordered burgers and thought it was great. Of course not number one for them in the area but it was top 5 for sure. I wish there was more parking but perhaps there’s more parking in the vicinity so you can walk. Also, the restrooms could’ve been a bit cleaner but not the worse. Overall, good food and chill vibes so I would recommend.

The Olive Garden Italian Restaurant is a family-friendly chain that offers pasta and salads as well as great service. When a customer's purse was left behind after they left it at the restaurant, the manager Kevin was so helpful in mailing it all the way to Canada so that the customer didn't have to return and lose an entire day with their sick child. The restaurant received 5 stars from them for their great service.
We reserved for a party of 20. The Manager Johnathon was extremely professional providing what could happen if we had any guests over the 20 occupancy. Johnathon was extremely knowledgeable and I’ve never seen customer service like that in person that he gave. When I say if I had my own company he would run it with no issues. This Manager deserves a raise as tone, knowledge, treatment was superb. Thank you for your professionalism and commitment to being great at customer service

I have eaten at many of Olive Garden's franchises before. Maybe cause I am getting older, I can no longer eat at this establishment as often. Their value menu is great for families who don't want to cook at home. The quantity of food for the price is great. However, my life is at risk. The salt level in the food can give anyone a cardiac arrest.

I recently visited Olive Garden Italian Restaurant and was very pleased. First of all, I was pleased with the warm and friendly service. The waiters were attentive and ready to help with any questions. As for the food, everything I tried was incredibly delicious. I ordered a classic lasagne and a plate of assorted Italian appetizers. Both exceeded my expectations. The portions were very large and filling - I could not even finish everything. I was especially impressed by the rich and authentic taste of the ingredients. It is clear that Olive Garden focuses on fresh and high-quality products. Sauces, cheeses, pasta - everything was prepared with great love and attention to detail. It is also worth noting the cozy and relaxing atmosphere of the restaurant. The interior is designed in warm colors and evokes the feeling of a real Italian tavern. This is an ideal place to spend a pleasant evening with friends or family. Overall, I was very pleased with my visit to Olive Garden. It is a great restaurant with authentic Italian food, large portions and excellent service. I would happily visit again and recommend it to everyone I know.

We arrived about 4:30 the day before Mother’s Day. My daughter had put us on the wait list online so despite there being lots of people waiting for tables, we were seated right away. Our server Jakyla wasn’t the most upbeat server and didn’t seem to know much about the menu when my daughter had questions. She did try to accommodate though and she may be new. The food was delicious and served pretty quickly. The manager stopped by to ask how things were as I was looking over the bill. I had a question about one of the meals prices and the way he answered was a little off-putting. I did notice from where I was sitting that the restaurant needs a good dusting/cleaning. I’d go back, but I don’t know if I’d necessarily recommend this location.

I joined a group of friends from work for a gathering at the Olive Garden on Gate City Boulevard in Greensboro. It was a wonderful experience! The restaurant was full, but quiet, immaculate, and the perfect setting for a lovely dinner with friends. All of the staff were phenomenal, especially Anna and Ahmonee who were assigned to our group of about 20. They were so welcoming and professional and made our experience exceptionally enjoyable. I highly recommend this location and will definitely dine there again in the future.

Cafe Pasta & Grille is a popular Italian-American fusion restaurant located in the Downtown Greensboro Historic District. It has been a staple of the area since 1984, offering high-quality Italian dishes made with fresh ingredients. The restaurant features a compact storefront space and hosts live music on weekends, creating a lively and inviting atmosphere for diners. In addition to its regular menu, Cafe Pasta & Grille offers weekly changing specials and monthly wine and beer tastings.
The food was delicious to me! I had the salmon, spinach salad and crab cakes. My sister had the lasagna. The salad was my favorite! The salmon came with potatoes and veggies 😋! All were delicious. The lasagna could've used a little seasoning but it was good overall! We had no complaints! We enjoyed it all! The prices are reasonable. The crab cakes didn't taste like real crab but they were still good. The tarter sauce that comes with it is delicious. The bread could've used more cooking done to it. I had a to go order but the young man and young lady who greeted me were both very nice and welcoming! The parking would be my only negative. It's a little confusing but I figured it out. I do recommend and I will try it again!

I visited this place for lunch. The atmosphere was good. Service was ok but only one person took orders and brought the food. I have to say that she was very capable of handling it . The salad was good . My drink wasn't the best. My silverware was dirty. The shrimp risotto was tasty but it was undercooked. The pasta sauce was like soup not creamy, that was unexpected and unpleasant. It might be a great place but it didn't work out for me.

My husband took me here for my birthday. I have to say I’m not that impressed with a lot of restaurants, BUT I’ll say this was the perfect restaurant for me. It was not too busy, the waitress was so nice (enjoyed her a lot), the owner was really nice as well and I can tell he cares about his work (he asked how everything was and held a nice conversation win our way out), and there were many menu items that I was willing to try. The food was really tasty. If I lived in Greensboro I would come often. I will definitely be back to enjoy the food and atmosphere.

I have lived 1 mile from cafe pasta for 3.5 years and this is my first time trying it! I got take out and the nicest woman named Alexa took my order and brought it out to my when I got there. I am SUPER impressed by the kindness Alexa showed me on the phone and during pick up!! Food was also AMAZING! I got the South beach pasta and my boyfriend got the chicken fettuccine alfredo. We also got fried calamari for an appetizer. I loved the south beach pasta so much I will likely order it again tomorrow!! Will be back for sure. Food was piping hot and very fresh! I called the takeout order in at 8 and they closed at 9 so the fact the food was so fresh and staff was so nice is amazing. I didn’t take a very good photo of the food and the photo does not do the food justice! It also looked so fancy and nice in there so next time I will for sure try dining in. Hope this review helps anyone who is deciding whether to come here 😊

This place was so cute and delicious! We took an entire college baseball team and staff for dinner one night, and they had the whole upstairs for us. Team food was ready when we got there, and the staff ordered more, and it came out so fresh and quick. The waitress was so knowledgeable of the menu, too. Deli
Lox Stock & Bagel is a beloved deli in Greensboro that has been delighting customers for over 35 years with its impressive array of sandwiches and deli meats. Known for sticking to classic favorites, the menu features hearty options like chicken noodle soup and clam chowder alongside their signature sandwiches. One standout is the Hoboken, packed with hot roast beef, cherry peppers, melted mozzarella, and mustard on a sub roll—truly a treat!
I have been coming to Lox, Stock & Bagel since they opened in 1977. I am also still ordering the same sandwich, the Hoboken. It's roast beef, provolone cheese, spicy mustard, and cherry peppers. All sandwiches are served with potato chips and a pickle. They do have side salads you can order too. They don't have filtered water, so I ordered a Dr Pepper; which was only $1.25. They do have bottled water. I forgot their ice tea is pretty good, too. I got there a couple of minutes before 12 and got seated in less than a couple of minutes. My food came quickly and my waitress was very efficient and nice.

I lived and worked in Greensboro years ago. I would often stop by and grab a sandwich hot or cold. I stopped by the other day, and things were just off. No, thank you for the tip, even though all you did was take my order. Second, the sandwich was absolutely disgusting. I've never had a sandwich where the bread disintegrates by touching it. Is it too much to ask that when you pay for a $14 sandwich plus tip that you receive fresh bread ? Now imagine trying to eat a sub without bread, which is what happened.

My whole family loves this place! The sandwiches are always delicious with fresh cut meats. I love the variety of sandwiches and old fashioned sodas. Atmosphere isn’t much but it’s cozy. Service has always been good. You can also get sliced meats and other deli items to take home. Grab a cookie too!

Such a great selection of food to be found here! Anything with Boar's Head as a base for sandwich selection is already a step ahead of the game in my book! Personal favorite is the Arlington, that onion Kaiser roll is brought out warm and so delicious! They have every drink you can think of, and some you can't! Try a few out! The staff are wonderful everytime we go to eat!

I am shocked to have to write this review. We've been coming to this deli consistently for 35 years. We've always loved Lox and supported this local favorite. But our weekly visits are ending after our experience today. The owner knows who we are, and his wife has always been lovely (though I haven't seen her in quite some time). We've remained loyal through staffing challenges, reduced hours, and even long waits during lunch rushes. Like so many Lox customers, we are loyal and recommend them to anyone visiting or new to the area. But today crossed a line. My husband and I ordered and planned to share. I like my hotdog all the way, and he prefers his with just ketchup. The waitress returned, embarrassed, to tell us that the owner refused to make them differently. He said both had to be the same -- no customizations, no condiments on the side. I honestly couldn't believe it. They *always* accommodate preferences and adjustments. It's disheartening that we were treated this way. Especially when we could see other customers receiving their customized orders all around us. Our waitress was clearly uncomfortable and upset to be delivering the message to us -- she had nothing to be ashamed of. The shame falls entirely on the owner. Maybe you were having a bad day or feeling stressed, but there's simply no excuse for treating a customer this way, let alone a family who has supported your business for over three decades.
Ashley — Google review
Should not have given a 20% tip until my experience was over. Had to go back up to the counter and ask for the side of mustard that I requested when the girl who looked like she didn't want to be there, took my order, had to go back and ask for some/any type of dip for the carrot sticks (nothing was offered when I ordered and paid), and the only waitress I saw directed me to throw away my own trash! NO CUSTOMER SERVICE THERE! How rude to tell a customer that, and not just do it after they leave. I've eaten there once a long time ago, and today is my last trip there. I was not asked if it was dine in or take out. Glad I ate in to see what all was NOT in my to go bag.

Definitely glad we stopped in. Luckily when we arrived we were just early enough to get seated right away. Staff was attentive from the minute we arrived - pointed us towards the hostess area so we could be seated since there were folks also waiting for take out orders. Menu has lots of options. We were all happy with our sandwich selections. The sandwiches are huge & delicious. Clearly this is a very popular lunch stop. Within a few mins of us being seated every table was filled. Wait staff was friendly & attentive.

If you're in Greensboro, a visit to Stephanie's Restaurant II is an absolute must for anyone craving authentic homestyle Southern cooking. This beloved eatery serves up mouthwatering dishes like fried chicken and BBQ in a cozy setting adorned with nostalgic photos that tell stories of its rich history. Known as one of the city's culinary gems, it has attracted everyone from locals to notable figures like Barack Obama, making it a prominent black-owned establishment.
My family and I of about 25 people went to eat here for the first time at this restaurant. This past weekend for my aunt's birthday. I will say we were seated within 10 minutes. The atmosphere was really nice and relaxing. There was plenty of room for the seating. As for our waiter, she was awesome, very patient, and speedy with her service. Please note that any party over 8, I believe it was, they include the gratuity to the bill. Okay, the food it was around $12 to $,15 for a meal, but you had a big quantity of food. Everything was delicious, hot, and fresh. I absolutely love the collar greens, but I had a problem with the macaroni and cheese. I did not like it at all. Please note that the building can use a lot of updating. But it's like your hole in the wall with a hiding jewel restaurant. But as for me and my family, we would definitely be back to visit.

Stephanie’s has been added to the list of places I must go when I’m in Greensboro. We went on Friday for lunch and EVERYTHING was delicious. I was a little disappointed that they got rid of the baby shower meatballs…hopefully they’ll come back. I ordered salmon cakes, cabbage, broccoli casserole & hush puppies. My friend had the fried wing platter with squash, rice and gravy, and okra. The food was hot and seasoned to perfection. The wings were cooked to a perfect, crispy golden brown. The salmon patties has a little spicy kick to them & I love spicy. Can’t wait to visit again!

Maybe it was a bad day at Stephanie's when I visited. The bbq ribs were too peppery spicy to eat, and they were not falling off the bone, as the menu stated. They were courteous to offer me another entree. The meatloaf was red and undercooked on the inside! The mac n cheese was runny and not flavorful, and the cornbread dry. The greens were just okay. My loaded potato, was just an over baked potato with a little shredded cheddar and bacon pieces. It was dry, I had to ask for sour cream. It was disappointing! It appears the best bet was to have ordered the smothered turkey, as others in the party did. Atleast they were able to clean their plates. Stephanie's comes highly rated, but it appears it's food is hit or miss, and not consistent. The waitress was amazing in her attention to us and other guests. She's a gem! I believe her name was Lindsay!

Outstanding Experience at Stephanie's Restaurant! My family and I had an absolutely wonderful dining experience at Stephanie's Restaurant in Greensboro. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm, genuine hospitality that set the tone for the entire meal. The food was exceptional - hot, fresh, and bursting with flavor. I ordered the fried catfish with yams and collards, and every bite was perfection. The catfish was crispy on the outside, tender and flaky inside, and seasoned beautifully. My wife enjoyed the turkey wings with mac and cheese and collards, and she couldn't stop raving about how tender and flavorful everything was. Our daughter had the chicken strips with collards and mac and cheese, and enjoy it and had plenty left over for dinner later. The portion sizes were incredibly generous. I'm talking the kind of portions that make you realize you need to pace yourself, but the food is so good you can't help but keep eating. I had every intention of trying dessert, but there simply wasn't any room left! I must give special recognition to our waitress - and I sincerely apologize for not catching her name. She was absolutely excellent in every way. Attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the menu, and had such a pleasant, welcoming demeanor. She made sure we had everything we needed and really went above and beyond to make our experience special. To the management: our order included fried catfish, yams, collards, turkey wings, mac and cheese, chicken strips - if you can identify our server from this, please let her know she made our visit truly memorable and give her the recognition she deserves. She's a real asset to your team. My wife also paid with a debit card, so you should be able to find the order by our last name. Stephanie's Restaurant has earned our loyalty. We'll definitely be back, and we're already telling friends and family about this gem. If you're in Greensboro and want delicious soul food, generous portions, and outstanding service, this is the place! Highly recommended! Five stars all the way!

Let me just say this, in a dining establishment when a customer advises the manager/owner and staff this is their first time eating there, they should do everything in their power to make sure that first time customer returns again and again. Telling everyone about their great dining experience. Well, I won't be saying that about this restaurant. Everything was sweet (collars, potato salad, pinto's). Please be advised if your an adult, and just want a lil sumin-sumin i.e. a kids meal, you have to pay almost $3 for the drink that's supposed to automatically come with the kids meal, we were not advised of that. Highly disappointed!!!

Don is a cozy Japanese eatery that specializes in hot dishes, such as donburi, teriyaki, and ramen. The ambiance of the restaurant is simple and traditional, with booth-lined seating. Visitors can enjoy the flavorful food offerings; however, some caution must be exercised with the hot bowls as they can become excessively heated. Although it is generally preferred for rice to have a crispy texture at the bottom of the bowl, in this case it was overly crunchy and somewhat difficult to consume.
The noodles were really good!! I was craving some noodles and my wife found this on google 10 out of 10, we will definitely revisit and recommend. I find this very serious as it is a scam for customers and unfair to their staff. *See bottom of review for more details* I had high hopes for Don on Tate Street, but my visit was pretty disappointing. The hot stone bowl looked great at first, but the amount of shrimp they gave me over the amount of rice they gave me was ridiculous. It was not worth the price listed. The food itself was fine but bland. I got the hibachi shrimp don. I had to drown it in sauce to make it flavorful. The freshly cracked egg that cooks in the hot stone bowl was honestly the highlight — everything else felt mediocre. Service-wise, it was oddly overbearing. Staff kept checking in a bit too much. The check came out almost immediately after we finished eating, making us feel rushed and unwelcome, even though the restaurant wasn’t busy. The older woman who seemed to be the manager or owner was particularly overattentive — it felt more forced than friendly. I appreciated the attempt at hospitality, but it came across as disorganized and pushy rather than caring. Between the poor food balance, uncomfortable pacing, and awkward service, I left disappointed and unlikely to return. *Note about tipping: I was told by someone who used to be a staff member that tips at Don do not go to the servers but instead go directly to the owners.* Bad vibes all around, especially with the tip situation. If you do decide to eat here, I’d suggest paying only what’s necessary and being cautious about where your “tip” actually goes.

Don is my favorite restaurant in Greensboro. I am not exaggerating. Every dish I’ve tried has been amazing. I have recommended it to 3 or 4 people now, and all of them have also enjoyed it when we went together. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming. The service is prompt and everyone is nice. To me, it is the ideal place to have dinner with friends, which I do often at Don. I really think Don deserves more customers, because it’s a high quality restaurant experience.

The food is always delicious and the food comes out relatively fast. Sometimes the service can be hit or miss, but honestly the food more than makes up for it!

This is our favorite in Greensboro. They hosted my son’s rehearsal dinner recently, and everything was perfect. We had 48 people and we ordered off the menu—not easily done for the cooks, but everything was smooth and delicious. Mr. & Mrs. Lee are amazing team of host and chef. The food is always fresh; I highly recommend the salmon stone bowl. We are so fortunate to have such a restaurant like Don in our city.

Bakery

Sandwich shop
Banh Mi Saigon is a bakery located in an unassuming shopping center off of Gate City Blvd. They make their own bread, and the sandwiches are some of the best in North Carolina. The crusty French bread is always a good choice for an easy lunch or dinner craving.
I got the no 4 bbq beef, always fresh ingredients! Very nice flavor, bread was fresh and crunchy, outstanding! Most drink options are coconut water, or some variation . Great for a quick snack ! Deserts and Boba available too but I'm here strictly for the sandwiches !
Joe B — Google review
Every-time II am near the Greensboro Coliseum or driving near Gate City I have the need for Bahn Mi! There sandwiches are incredible, whether the original beef or my favorite the “Orleans” pork, you get a mouthful of flavor in every bite. The crunchy fresh vegetables and sliced jalapeños add that perfect kick to their well prepared beef and pork respectively. They also have a plate version which is usually premade and placed on a table near the front counter. That looks delicious and it’s just the same as the sandwich but without the carbs. The desserts are also on display either on the table or refrigerated. I have tried a few, including their take on rice pudding. It’s silver looking with a white cream on top and oddly it has cooked beans in it. Not the way I’m used to having it but it was actually good. I am tempted to try a lot of their other items but always get the sandwiches. The drinks look like smoothies and I have not tried one yet, they look delicious. They are in a small strip mall and have ample parking. You can order at the counter or at a kiosk, depending on the time of day you may have a wait time. It’s very laid back with limited seating as half the restaurant is closed off since Covid and they keep it piled with stock. Staff is pretty quick and friendly. It would be nice if they u cluttered the place and made it more spacious to dine in. If you have never had a Bahn Mi, do yourself a favor and swing by, you won’t regret it!

This is hands down the best banh mi place in Greensboro, and that’s saying a lot since Greensboro has a ton of Viet and thus a ton of Vietnamese restaurants. This time I ordered the pork chops and 2 eggs on rice, 2 beef banh mis, and the gelatinous, green rice cake. All were delicious. Service was quick. Staff member was super polite. Wonderful restaurant!!
Daniel T — Google review
My life has been CHANGED. The banh mi sandwiches here are HEAVENLY. The bread is crunchy but also airy. Veggies are fresh and crisp. They don’t skimp on portions. Each bite is just a flavor explosion. I got the Banh Mi New Orleans. Banh Mi is typically served with luncheon meat but there are options with grilled pork, beef, and, chicken. Service is quick and exceptional. This little hole in the restaurant is a true Greensboro gem. I also got the Che Sam Bo Luong and while it wasn’t my cup of tea, I enjoyed getting to taste some authentic Vietnamese flavors. Would definitely recommend coming here for a bite to eat!
Samuel S — Google review
Absolutely amazing. The freshest, most delicious sandwich I've had in my life. The carrots, cilantro and jalepeno were huge pops of flavor in each bite. I would recommend to everyone!
Heather R — Google review
This place is a hidden gem! Stop visiting corporate slop chains and start coming here and support your small local businesses. Incredible sandwiches, generous portions, and the best value for food in the area. My new favorite
Matt S — Google review
After reading excellent reviews, I was very excited to try a sandwich from here. Unfortunately the experience ended up being rather negative on the account of very SCARCE MEAT in my sandwich. I ordered the BBQ beef sandwich and paid $3.50 extra for "EXTRA MEAT". What I got was a tasty, fresh baguette with a measly portion of meat, tiny portion of veggies, and nearly invisible portion of sauce. I paid close to $14 with tax and tip for a single sandwich here. What I got was a small loaf of bread with a HINT of a filling. I definitely felt taken advantage of. I understand the owners are cutting all kinds of corners in this economy, but let me tell you Greensboro provides much more generous lunch sandwiches for this price. The only reason I'm not giving this joint a ONE star is because I don't want to hurt a small business and I'm all for supporting authentic ethnic cuisine. Having said that, I will never come back. I really took offense at the portion size and I'm left wondering if I did not pay for "extra meat", would my sandwich have any protein in it at all? What is the "normal", not "extra" portion here - a sandwich with some SMELL of meat? What a disappointment.
Lucky B — Google review
Food was delicious but their bread was dry. Wish the bread was fresh. Since they are a bakery as well I was hoping the bread was fresh. Other than that the food was good and friendly workers. I went the first time and it was EXCELLENT! Second visit was dry bread. But I will still go back.

With over 11 years of experience serving the Triad community, this restaurant has established itself as a go-to destination for both loyal patrons and newcomers alike. The menu features an array of authentic Mexican cuisine that keeps customers coming back for more.
Food great, service amazing! “Everyday specials” for 5.99 for the margarita size in the photo attached to this review! I also ordered a jumbo marg for only 10.99, when most places charge $13+ and the best part about the margs is they are tasty and aren’t super strong!

We arrived around 9:30pm. Took 6-7 minutes for us to get chips and another 10 for us to get drinks. Looked at my fork while waiting to order food and fork was dirty and stained. Finally ordered food. Son ordered Quesadillas and I ordered chicken fajitas. Food came to the table and there was a long black hair in my rice and beans. Lady decided to bend down an look closer at my food and said “oh there is a hair in your food!!” And then proceeds to tell me a story about her going to Applebees last week and the waitress was “having a bad day and there was hair in her food” and she was going to make my whole order all over again. My food finally came back and had to get another fork as she took my fork with my food back to the kitchen. Had to wait 3 minutes for another fork. Bill finally came for the table and not only did she not ring up my son’s food correctly but she only took off $3 for my “inconvenience “. Service was slow and had to send food back due to hair. Definitely won’t be coming back here

Been looking for a place that does the fajitas bowl in the taco shell bowl and if was great!!! I would've liked less peppers and my bowl not to be soggy in the bottom, but other than that I was very pleased

This restaurant takes forever to do anything and they’re rude when it comes to picking up orders. It took 10 minutes of me waiting at the front for my order before anyone came to help me. Several people also came in as I waited for my food and they also waited a bit before service. When I finally received service the lady was rude and just told me to sit down and wait. No updates just a eye rolling and sass.
Taj J — Google review
Poor customer service. I'm black, standing and waiting to be served for about 15 minutes. Staff members looking at me and that's it. Handful of people in the restaurant, so they weren't extremely busy at all. A white Mexican walks in. He's seated and served right a away. That's bullshit. I walked out, soon as he was seated. Someone comes to the door to see where I went. I kept driving off. Too late for that now. I encourage ALL BLACK PEOPLE that has standards and a damn backbone. Do not cater to this business.

I ordered through Grubhub. I made a mistake on my order and called the restaurant. Friendly customer service and they made my order correct with no problems! Food was great and the young lady who helped me via phone was extra efficient and friendly! I will order from them again!

Acropolis Restaurant is a cozy eatery in Greensboro, offering a delightful selection of traditional Greek dishes such as seafood, gyros, and salads. The restaurant is praised for its fresh ingredients and flavorful seasoning, particularly the chicken souvlaki. The ambiance is described as charming with beautiful art adorning the walls and pleasant low lighting. Visitors appreciate the attentive and friendly service from the waitstaff.
This place never disappoints! My favorite is the chicken saltza and even in takeout, the food is always fresh, hot and tasty. I recommend this place to EVERYONE

The food experience at the Acropolis Restaurant in Greensboro NC was average. The lunch menu offers a variety of Greek dishes, offering solid price and food choices. The atmosphere is average, staff working hard, food is average. The lentil soup was very tasty, feta cheese good, and the gyros was ok. The meat did not meet my gyros expectations. The vegetables were good. My score 4.1.

On Saturday I took my Mom, niece, and nephew here for dinner after a performance downtown. Was wanting to show the kids there are different types of food other than cheeseburgers. Our server was very pleasant, patient, and helpful! The food was prepared quite well and in a timely manner. The “side salads” were very well made and a decent portion with more than just lettuce. I will be back!

Acropolis has been a favorite of mine for decades. My go to is the tiropita dinner with avgholemeno soup and a glass of retsina wine. For dessert, galaktoboureko.

This was the worst Greek food I ever had. Ive had real greek food in europe btw. Anyways, I walked in and it smelled great so I was excited. The half sweet unsweetened tea was just unsweet and already i was like oh man. The salad was crap. The chicken souvlaki was crap although the chicken was tender it was just mush on a plate. I would much rather go to the fast food Mythos or achillies instead atleast it tastes good. Also this is supposed to be the oldest restraint in Greensboro. If you dont pride yourself on that with this crap food then shut her down. I probably wont go back.

We stopped in around 7:30 last Friday after seeing a movie and had one whole side to ourselves. Maybe the weather warnings kept people away. It was our first visit. Machete is a trendy restaurant in Greensboro, North Carolina, known for its creative American cuisine and craft cocktails. Owned by Lydia Greene and Kevin Cottrell, this upscale New American eatery has quickly become a top dining spot in the area. The industrial-chic decor with exposed brick walls and colorful murals sets the stage for an inviting atmosphere.
Wow. We were taken aback by how wonderful this restaurant is. We kept telling each other, “this is like an Asheville or NYC restaurant in GSO!” The staff is so knowledgeable, and each dish came to us with an explanation, which I love! They were also so warm, kind, and congenial. Each dish we tried was delicious and well-plated, and the craft cocktails were so impressive. We tried: Duck Wings 9/10 Crab Salad 10/10 Scallop Toast 10000/10 Charred Cabbage 8/10 Tiramisu 1.5 million/10 I also have to give a shout out to the cook line. You can see them as you eat, and they were hard-working & so friendly!!

I wish I could give Machete more than 5 stars. My husband and I had the most incredible meal here. Service was amazing, the staff were all phenomenal, our waitress was knowledgeable and spent time answering all of our questions. The food was out of this world and beat everything that we ate in Vegas a few weeks ago. The only thing I’m upset about is that I didn’t find Machete sooner! I’m already looking forward to going back and getting another plate full of that incredible crab fried rice.

Greensboro is incredibly fortunate to have Machete. If you're seeking a dining experience on par with a Michelin-starred restaurant in North Carolina, this is a must-visit. Once you've had dinner and drinks here, you'll find yourself returning with each seasonal menu change - and likely for their Supper Club and Dueling Sommeliers events as well. A special thank you to Art, the Director of Service, who consistently makes us feel welcome each time we visit.
Matt T — Google review
Ok so i believe the high rating is a based on a illusion. The atmosphere is good the staff very pleasant. The food portions are small which im ok with. The duck wings were a large portion though. The sea bass and a5 skewer was not good. There flavors are way over powered with the sauces and such. I have eaten all over and dont mind paying large amounts for my food but just because the amount is low and price is high for said amount does not constitute a high end taste. They tell you all this info on how its cooked and what's in the sauce, I only care if I plan to replicate the meal, which im definitely not. I dont regret visiting this location and if your like me and have to try every restaurant around definitely give it a stop. But for me If I want a good bit of steak im going to Kaw, if I want good seafood papdaux,

We ate here the day before our sleep token show. Food was incredible and full of flavor. We got so many things off of the menu. The mocktails were delicious. Highly recommend. Yes, the portions were small but purposeful. I didn't mind that at all. The quality of the food was worth it. Service was great.
Brooke B — Google review
Food is so interesting and delicious. Fun to share so you can try several dishes. Service superb and friendly. My kids think the atmosphere is cool -- a modern, lively vibe. I think it's too noisy but all the good restaurants are too noisy, thus my rating.
Daryl A — Google review
My wife and I love MACHETE, it has quickly become one of our favorite restaurants, we love getting to try their different seasonal menus. Strongly suggest getting the cauliflower, it's different every season, but always phenomenal. That said, we've never had a plate of food that was anything less than spectacular. If you enjoy a cocktail, MACHETE definitely is a must. Just like the food, the cocktails change with the season and tend to be themed. The most recent cocktail theme is Bob's Burgers, and the Baby You Can Chive My Car is something we're going to think about for a long time. Outside of the food and drink, the service is always outstanding. Every person that we've ever interacted with has been pleasant and helpful. It's always a pleasure to chat with the staff whenever the chance arises. P.S. if you can make it before the summer menu is over, I strongly suggest the roasted oysters and pasta al limone.

BANDITO BODEGA is a funky spot that offers a diverse menu of global comfort foods, ranging from burritos to fried dumplings and banh mi. Originally a food truck, it has now become one of the coolest brick-and-mortar spots in Greensboro. The restaurant is known for its unique Asian/Latin fusion menu with generous portions, featuring dishes like pork belly noodle bowl, kimchi fried rice, gringo tacos, and kimchi tacos.
Great place! The food here was tasty and very filling. The only knock I have on it was the space itself. There are just a few tables inside and a few outside. So take out might be the best play here. We did go during off hours and were able to sit at a table but I would imagine in the evening might get challenging.
Joseph K — Google review
I confess that when we arrived I saw the vibe to take away your food and eat at home, but we were too hungry for that, so we stay. The place is small, with just a few tables to eat but the service is super nice and helpful to understand the menu and choices available. The food is a nice surprise: super tasty with a lot of flavors and despite have spice you can still feel the other ingredients (it’s not super strong). We ordered the Baja and Asian taco (my favorite was the Baja) and also the ahi tuna bowl (spectacular).
Catherine C — Google review
My wife discovered Bandito and recommended we try it. We have had three meals from there since her suggestion. I fully intend to expand my menu choices, but I'm a sucker for staying with something I like. We've had two different bowls. One is called the Big Ass Burrito Bowl, and the other is their Southwest Pimento Burrito Bowl. We order ours with Chicken, but pork, chorizo, steak, tofu, shrimp, and tuna are also protein options. The food is flavorful, and the carryout bag with our 2 salads and the really large brown paper bags of tortilla chips that come with each order must weigh 3+ pounds. The bowls are huge,. We get a dinner and lunch from our orders. If you like funky, out of the ordinary food as much as we do, then this is your place. I'm pretty sure we'll make our 4th trip this weekend, and I'm going to try something new--as long as it's heavy!
Bill S — Google review
Excellent customer service, good vibes, mid food. The chicken kimchi fried rice had a very strong mayonnaise flavor and was very very wet. The chicken was also a little unappetizing. The beef birria quesadilla was just okay, idk why I was expecting it to be more authentic (it had sour yellow cheese ??). The fries however, STOLE THE SHOW. I’d go again to get a drink and furikake fries with gochujang ketchup for sure!

Stopped here before a show at Hangar 1819. Got the steak baja tacos which were delicious. Chips & salsa that came with it were also great. Chips were hot & obviously fresh. There is very little seating so probably more of a takeout place but it wasn't busy when I was there so I got a table easily. Service was friendly & fast. Clean bathroom.

We had the opportunity to have dinner here over the weekend, and O.M.G!!! I have not had food this good in a LONG time. The food here is truly farm to table. Everything is locally sourced and it absolutely shows. The food was fresh, the colors popped, and the food was so flavorful. I got the shrimp and grits and my sister got the Pumkinoli. The shrimp and grits was a new spin on an old favorite. The grits were fried into patties and soaked up all the yummy sauce so well. The Pumkinoli was absolutely delicious. They also make their own soda using a recipe from the 1800's!!! And it was also amazing! Not one thing here was not well thought out, prepared beautifully, and absolutely amazing. AND, their menu changes with the seasons so they can ensure it tracks with the local harvest! I was impressed with the thought that went into the meals here, and can't wait to come back. **Also! The wait can be a little longer than normal because every single dish is made fresh. We were told that up front, and the wait was well worth it!

Please don’t waste your money here. The plate you see below cost me $34, and when it came out, I was shocked. Six tiny pieces of shrimp on what looked like microwavable rice, topped off with a random flower and what honestly looked like grass picked from outside—it was the definition of underwhelming. I’ve never been to a restaurant and paid so much for such a bare-minimum meal. I politely asked the server if I could swap it for a burger instead, which looked decent, but I was told no since the dish was already cooked. On top of that, I was informed they don’t keep much food in storage, so they couldn’t bring me anything else unless I ordered (and paid for) another dish. So essentially, I would’ve been stuck paying for this sad excuse of a plate (bacon-wrapped shrimp & dirty rice) no matter what. To add to the disappointment, the chairs were uncomfortable, the food was overpriced, and the overall experience was a solid 0/10. Without a doubt, this is the worst dining experience I’ve had in Greensboro. I will never be back—hands down.

If you're on the hunt for authentic African cuisine, look no further than Saint Louis Saveurs! This delightful eatery specializes in Senegalese dishes that are sure to tantalize your taste buds. The warm and welcoming staff are eager to share their culinary knowledge, making it a great idea to familiarize yourself with the menu before diving in. One standout dish is the Okra Soup paired with fufu—pounded yam and plantain—which you should definitely enjoy by hand for an authentic experience.
This was my first time trying African food and it was very good. A little spicy, but it's that good spicy that keeps you taking one bite after another. I will definitely go back and try another dish. This is a must try if you never experienced African cuisine and they have American dishes as well.

I eat this at least once a week, this has become one of my favorite places in Greensboro to eat. The staff is friendly and the food is always fresh. My only complaint is I wish they put more meat in the soup. Usually it’s one chicken wing per soup.

The best African food! This is senegalese food, the lovely food of Senegal! I am never disappointed. The people are lovely here and are happy to tell you about their food. I recommend teaching yourself about their menu before ordering so you dont miss out on anything especially delicious. A favorite of mine is their Okra Soup with foufou (pounded, fermented yam and plantain). Be sure to eat the fufu with your hands and dip it in the soup! I also love their Bissap juice which is like a sweet, hibiscus-mint juice. I like their okra soup a bit more than Ghanaian okra soup i found out- they cook theirs through, while Ghanain okra soup its more slimy. Definitely worth the try, and if you like spicy, be sure to ask for a side of hot sauce to dump in your soup! I also tried their Fataya which is also good, flavorful, and with perfect texture. I sat in the restaurant and enjoyed myself very much! It is small though, so maybe not best for a very large party.

I had the djollof rice. Chicken was fall-off-the-bone tender. The rice was great (not mushy or too oily). Definitely get the hot sauce if you like spicy, or even if you don't--it's fruity, acidic, complements the dish well, and isn't too spicy to the point where you can't taste anything else (ymmv). Definitely recommend.

The velvety smooth fufu, silky texture from the okra and rich earthy flavor from the palm oil, was a delight. Okra soup and fufu is what’s pictured. Thankful we have a new restaurant in Greensboro which happens to be cuisine from Africa. Long overdue. Can’t wait to go back and try more. Picture doesn’t do Justice.

This was the best cheesesteak and Gyro wrap in town. The St Louis Special Burger is very special just order it you will thank me later.

I tried something new today. Thursday only special. Senegalese diolof rice with fish. Very good. Never had African food before. It was worth it.

Great staff! Beautiful environment! Delicious food! Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Spent over 2 hours eating dinner at the bar the other night enjoying the atmosphere and company of the staff and other customers. Went home with the chef. It was a delightful evening.

The food was really good. The chicken tasted hand dredged and the fries were freshly cut. The honey mustard also tasted like it was made from scratch. The service was good.

Oh my , this is my favorite little Bistro! The staff is always so kind, polite and helpful! The Owner, the Bartender and the clientele... they are all wonderful! I have bin a Regular there for six or seven years! I would go there every day!!! The food is always fresh and new menus are frequent, served with a smile! The front desk staff is happy to see me, and I even get a hug here and there!! I recommend this restaurant to every one!!! With Love, Elke and all of my friends!!#

Nice dining experience, excellent food choices and well prepared. Desserts were also excellent. The only reason this is a 4 star review and not a 5 star is because the neighboring tables are sooo close together, it's almost like the adjacent guests are dining with you. I would go again but only if I could reserve a booth for more privacy. Otherwise it was perfect.

Aug. 19, 2017...The atmosphere in itself was very attractive, but the service left a lot to be desired. We went for a small reception after a wedding. The restaurant was quiet not many people at the 2:30 hour, yet the service was extremely slow. All we ordered were a few appetizers, desserts, wine, mixed drinks, and the service was very slow. The bride was one of the first to order, yet was the last to get her drink. As the groom, this bothered me, but we remained calm amongst our family and friends. If she (the waitress) was overwhelmed, then the manager or others not busy should step up to help. It takes teamwork to be the best you can be, not individuals. The manager never can out to say welcome, hope we can make you comfortable, and thank you for choosing their restaurant. There are other restaurants better and more courteous. We will not return.

Fist time back in a long time and it didn't disappoint. Service was friendly and very knowledgeable about the wine/beer/cocktail list as well as the food specials. Both in my party had food specials: a pesto chicken pasta and a tile fish entree with parsnip puree and broccolini. Both were delicious! Atmosphere is great as well. It's not a large space and it was a busy night but it was not too loud for easy conversation.

The staff is welcoming and friendly. The servers are knowledgeable and efficient. The food is consistently very good. The only blip I have ever encountered is when I ordered a dish that was cooked less than ordered but the server and kitchen quickly corrected it and got it exactly as ordered. I have returned many times for both lunch and dinner and have not been disappointed.

The food was great. The taste of everything was very good and the presentation as well. The seasonal pear and pecan pie was very good and I probably would have enjoyed it more with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. That being said the price point was a bit steep for what you actually get on your plate. The pricing is on everything but the special board which I thought a bit odd until I saw the bill. $$$$. TL;DR The food is great. Price is too high for portion size.

Restaurant
At Revival Grill, diners can indulge in a delightful Mediterranean chowder that comes generously served in a large crockery bowl. This hearty dish is brimming with an array of seafood, including succulent salmon, mahi mahi, and tender clams, all enhanced by a hint of saffron for added flavor. For those seeking something different, the menu also features a rich vegetable-based mushroom soup crafted from five distinct varieties of mushrooms and a refreshing creamy cucumber tarragon soup.
No longer there. Replaced with a martini bar a couple years ago.
