Barbecue restaurant
Central BBQ - Downtown is a popular eatery in Memphis, known for its inventive meat dishes such as BBQ nachos, pork sandwiches, and brisket platters. Located across the road from the National Civil Rights Museum, this location is just one of five across the city. The restaurant opens from 11am-9pm seven days a week and tends to get busy during lunchtime with queues out the door.
(Post from Aug 4th) A quick Google search for “best BBQ near me” led us to Central. Must say that it did not disappoint. Enjoyed delicious bologna and brisket sandwiches for lunch. Ordered slab of ribs for later — which were delicious even at room temp. (Didn’t even warm up in the microwave)
TB T — Google review
Coming from Texas this wasnt bad bbq! The bbq was pretty good, their bbq sauce was awesome- we put that thang on everything. Definitely worth a try. We had the sampler appetizer each as our meal and that was a great choice, had a little bit of everthing and very filling. Really enjoyed the chicken slider and pulled pork nachos. Staff was very kind with that sweet southern charm. Took the food to go so I can’t really say too much about the ambiance but looked really laid back and casual. Cute rustic decor. Parking was easy with the parking lot in the back

First, for reference. I travel for a living and eat wings 3 to 4 times a week alll over America. Wings - TREMENDOUSLY GOOD. Seriously, these are some of the best smoked wings I've ever had. I just got them dry rubbed with Jamaican jerk. Ribs- Excellent, inside was very moist. The outside was a little overdone for my taste though. Brisket - OK.. it lacked the smoke flavor it should have had. Onion rings - They dont make these in house, they were average. Both sauces were very good. When I come back I will probably just get wings...but I may try the pork or chicken.
Carl W — Google review
Very conveniently located adjacent to the Civil Rights Museum. I had high hopes, but unfortunately, the food let me down. I’ve ate 4-5 other barbecue places while in Memphis, and this is by far my least favorite. I only ate half my pork, and that’s usually my favorite part. The service seemed fine. The atmosphere was good. I would not return here
Dixon — Google review
Skip this one. The greens were great & the meat was smoked well. Everything else sucked horribly. Very plain sandwiches. No sauce, no slaw... but asked for slaw, paid for slaw. Flies, gnats, bad service. Was told to stand here, not there, no here, not there, go here, sit there.. and it was hot. They don't believe in AC or pest control. Sauces were boring & no better than mcdonalds. They literally put all the sauce around the outside to make it look like they gave a damn. It was all over the paper they put your food on. Bun was dry. They wanted a tip but never came to see how we were doing, that we got what we paid for, or cqre how bad we were all sweating. The sides SUCKED (aside from greens). Potato salad was very vinegar forward and not good at all.
Jaclyn H — Google review
Coming from a Texan it ain't bad. Portion sizes were large. Meats -Ribs were the best. Normally not a rib guy but credit where it's due. It was good! -Pulled pork was tender and well shredded. Could've used a tad bit more seasoning -Brisket. Mine was dry. Not pleasant. Sides -Mac N cheese was solid. -BBQ Baked Beans were average but good Next time I'd try other meats and stay away from the brisket.
Steven C — Google review
I visited Central BBQ’s Downtown location specifically hoping to try their much-talked-about Banana Pudding. The location itself has a great vibe right in the heart of downtown, casual and welcoming with lots of foot traffic and a steady stream of customers. Unfortunately, by the time I arrived, they were already sold out of the Banana Pudding! Clearly, it’s an incredibly popular item and tends to go fast. The staff was friendly and helpful in letting me know about availability. I’d definitely recommend coming early if you’re specifically looking to try their desserts or signature items. I tried their coconut cake and chocolate cake. My hunt for the Banana Pudding continued at another location, but the Downtown branch itself definitely has a fun atmosphere and is a great option if you’re exploring the area.
Sahaj P — Google review
Central BBQ is a busy, buzzing spot — thanks in part to its prime location near the Civil Rights Museum. Expect a bit of a wait to order in, but honestly, you’ll need that time to scout out a table, grab a drink, and settle in. I went with the starter sampler and wow — this tray was loaded. If I had to rank the hits: 1. Pulled pork sandwich 2. BBQ Nachos 3. Smoked wings 4. Sausage Massive portions across the board, and the sandwich sizes looked just right for most appetites. The venue itself is big — lots of space and seating — and the vibe feels more like a Texas BBQ joint than some of the other Memphis spots I’ve visited, which gives it a broad, approachable feel. Delicious food, unbeatable location, great service, and fair prices. Definitely worth the stop — especially if you’re coming from or heading to the museum next door.

Ching's Hot Wings is a delightful fast-food haven nestled in East Memphis, where flavor takes center stage. This eatery specializes in an array of hot wings, including the crowd-favorite Honey Gold and the daring Suicide option for those seeking a fiery challenge. The secret seasoning sprinkled on their seasoned wings and fries adds a unique twist, with hints of curry, salt, and parsley tantalizing your taste buds.
Favorite Wing Joint for both Locals and Celebrities, don't judge the place by outside appearance! Seasoned crinkle fries along with Honey Hot wings definitely hit the spot!

Great wings. 10/10 would recommend. This place tends to be busy with take out orders so you may wait awhile but it is worth it.
Matthew A — Google review
Good place for wings. But more than that the service was great and I enjoyed seeing people from all different backgrounds enjoying the food. That says a lot about a business here in Memphis.
Diamond L — Google review
I haven’t had Chings in a ding long not sure if things have changed but I ordered four tender meal and this is what I got. Just by looking at every one comments and pictures I know my fries was over cooked and sat out. When I saw the tenders I laughed because I didn’t know I was ordering a kids meal. ( maybe I should have just took with the wings) For $14 I feel my meal should have been satisfying but it was not and I picked over the whole meal, I had to go and spend more money just to get a hot decent meal. I don’t know if I caught them in a down day but the meal was not giving. I’m all about supporting Black on Business but if this is what I’m getting in return I don’t know.

Best wings in the city! It's very popular so sometimes it's busy and can take a little while but it's well worth the wait. Plus you never know when a celeb or hooper will show up. Update: Still to this day the best wing place I've ever been to!! Honey hot 5 piece whole wing combo is my go to. Gotta get the blue drank as well. There's nothing better
Zach W — Google review
I love Ching’s!!!! They stopped placing orders over the phone at. 6:30, and it was 6:40 when I called. She said as long as I got there before 7:00, I could place my order. We made it at 6:51. Placed a large order of 75 wings with an extra large fry and medium fried okra. I think the owner is the woman that was calling out my order to the kitchen. She made my mom and me a free drink while we waited. Even pointed out this ice cream place next door that she walked me to because I said I wanted ice cream! We were out the door and in the car at 7:12!!!!! That’s with checking our food and everything. Food was 🔥🔥🔥
Sharnequah W — Google review
fries and wings were soggy...tried the hot garlic parm and it lacked flavor.. the fries barely had season and weren't good. this food is far too expensive to have experienced it like that.

Chicken wings restaurant
When it comes to hot wings in Memphis, The Wing Guru stands out as a beloved local chain known for its unique flavors and high-quality ingredients. With multiple locations across East Memphis, Bartlett, Collierville, Arlington, and Millington, this establishment has become synonymous with the best wings in town. Many locals consistently mention The Wing Guru when asked about their favorite wing spot. The owner, Billy Richmond Jr.
The fish nuggets were tasty. The team is welcoming. They have a variety of sauces try.
T D — Google review
They canceled half of my order with no notification so I didn't have lunch. Very poor service. The order I did receive was so small I thought the box was empty. Do not order the Catfish Nugget Basket or anything else if you actually want to have lunch. Teachers don't do it. Time is limited and this place isn't as good choice.
Jas D — Google review
DO NOT ORDER UBER EATS FROM HERE I got 10 wings without sauce on them. They gave me back a whopping $2 on UberEats. I ordered honey gold not whatever the hell was in this small plastic container NOT ON THE WINGS?!? Wing Guru-Who in the hell would order lean wings with Honey Gold on the side? In Memphis? Like how the does that happen?!? You can contact me to make this right. You cannot put piping hot wings in a sytrofoam box without the box melting. Like I am not eating that melted plastic. If you want to get bent over a barrel after spending $50 take your money to the Fitzgerald: at least there’s a 50:50 shot your bet hits. Do not bet on this location.
Jimmy B — Google review
I heard their wings taste good. But Probably some might like it. And some would not if you expect to have the wings taste like other franchises. It looks so red and exciting to taste spicy, but it isn't. So much over seasoning, over color, so much of sauces, which doesn't give a proper taste. But they do have many flavors. Can give it a try.
Swats — Google review
I've heard good things about this place, so I had high expectations for it. This is my first time in the store front. Looking at the menu, it was confusing on how to order. The menu was not user friendly. There is no "combo discount". You pay for the wings which were expensive already, then you pay another $4.35 for a side and drink. I normally check to see if a combo price is higher than buying separate, but I forgot to this time. My 5 full wings were $9.99, then adding the "combo" made my meal $15 plus tax for 5 full wings, seasoned crinkle fries(store bulk bought), and a drink. I've had better at other wing establishments for cheaper. The wings were not crispy. The honey suicide sauce was not spicy nor did I taste the honey. The food was not bad. It just wasn't GREAT. And for the price, I would not go back.
Truc N — Google review
Without making this a long review. The wings were just ok. The sauce was tasty (I think I had zinger). The fried green tomatoes were on their way to being 5star rated but.. alas, there was flour in my tomatoes. All of them. I ended up peeling the batter off and just eating the tomatoes. The menu is photo'd for your price viewing preservation.
Yoriann H — Google review
I’ve listened to Jason & John on 92.9 ESPN brag about The Wing Guru for over a year claiming it to be the best spot it town. Sorry, but they got it wrong. The wings are good, but not amazing. I tried their ranked sauce but left feeling just average. They do not have a combo meal and for a 5 piece whole wing, fry, and drink it costs 17 dollars. The drink fountain is behind the counter so getting refills can be difficult when they are busy. If your looking for the best spot in town then head over to Bosses on Poplar.
Jeff T — Google review
I have heard a lot of positive things about this place and decided to see what the hupla was all about. The restaurant area was inviting if you care to dine in. The music captured my soul and the cleanliness was evident. Try it and give your opinion but I won't return. They didn't get a new loyal customer 😒

Uncle Lou's Fried Chicken is a casual eatery in South Memphis, founded by Lou Martin in 2001. The restaurant offers a variety of Southern dishes, with its specialty being the spicy and mild fried chicken and jumbo burgers. The menu features carefully honed family recipes for fried chicken, wings, and biscuits. Customers can choose between Sweet Spicy Love sauce or Homestyle for their fried chicken, accompanied by a 44oz 'bucket' of Kool-Aid.
We were in Memphis visiting Graceland and wanted to try out Uncle Lou's Fried chicken. The restaurant needs a good cleaning, but if you can overlook this stuff and you want to flavorful chicken, then you should try Uncle Lou's! it was very good, not the best i have had better (Gus) still good. Not a fancy place, but what fried chicken place is? Service was good and friendly. 100% recommend!
Hagz — Google review
Stopped by here based on Guy's visit and review while visiting Memphis. The location is great and nice on the inside. The customer service by the team was also commendable. The food is cooked to order so it's hot. We tried the chicken with the sauce on the side. The chicken was hot and good. I'd prefer a little more batter and egg wash (coming from Louisiana) but their method is fine too. The sauce is definitely unique. A good balance between sweet and heat.
Tommy C — Google review
Great experience! Definitely Worth trying out. I'm thinking about driving to Memphis. I want to try the pork chop dipped in the spicy sauce My mother was disappointed she thought the bacon sandwich was lacking Bacon 😔
Nikkie K — Google review
Damn good chicken (sides and honey butter biscuits too), clean atmosphere, friendly customer service, fast, great enclosed patio with music, dine in, to go, and drive-thru available and convenient. Perfect for families and any local and out of town people. South Beach Wine and Food Festival with Guy Fiery!

TV FEATURED FOR A REASON This chicken—my lord. I ordered the hot chicken sandwich on Texas toast and it was excellent. The breading was just right, crispy but not dry, with perfectly toasted bread. The flavor was out of this world—some of the best I’ve ever had, though it wasn’t as spicy as I thought it would be. The honey butter biscuits were also delicious and we only ordered 2 but received 4! A nice surprise. The atmosphere of this place is as it should be: down home, Memphis-style. And the prices are more than reasonable for the quality. You can order from one of two touch screens, but the staff was also very friendly and willing to help out if needed. There’s plenty of seating inside and there’s ketchup and paper towels at every table. They also sell merch and their sauce bottled to go. The flavor was so good, I had to get a sauce for the house! Overall, great food! And despite its TV-fame, it was an authentic, Memphis hot chicken experience.
Zain W — Google review
Service was decent. Everyone seemed pleasant to interact with although it's limited by the fact you have to place your own order on a kiosk. The toppings on the burger seemed fresh, but the meat was obviously a pre shaped pre frozen patty. I wanted to try it because the online photos made it look like a delicious handmade fresh patty. The fries weren't the worst I've had, but could use some TLC The chicken was cooked perfectly and had a great coating and texture. Overall it was decent, but there is a very powerful spice they use for seasoning I don't care for one but. Obviously, that's a personal preference. You may like it. Reminds me of nutmeg or some spice used in some Indian cuisine. Can't quite place it. Anyway, it might be worth a try. I'm not hating it, but not so good that it would make me forgo trying a new place next time.
Wes G — Google review
First time visiting! If you get it fresh it's great. Wings are really, really small. You have to place your order on a kiosk. The biscuits are the star of the show. Customer service wasn't really the best, maybe they are used to everyone knowing about/coming to the location.
Kasheena E — Google review
I ordered 1 four-piece whole wing (hot) with mac & cheese, 1 four-piece (mild) with mac & cheese, and an extra side of okra. The wings had good flavor, but overall, my experience was not impressive. The food came out lukewarm. The mac & cheese was a little smashed into the container like it had been sitting for a while. The flavor leaned sweet—almost like a honey mac & cheese. It wasn’t terrible, just not really my thing. The okra, however, was the biggest letdown. It was unseasoned, not hot, not crispy—more like chewing gum. Definitely disappointing, especially for the price, since the small portion was only about a handful. Another issue: the setup. There’s no register, only two self-kiosks, and for a first-time visitor, that was confusing. No one was around to give extra direction or explain the menu. We ordered inside, and when our food was bagged, no napkins or utensils were included. That was frustrating since we planned to eat downtown while watching the sunset. How was I supposed to enjoy mac & cheese or clean up after without basics like that? On the positive side, the wings themselves had good taste, and the food was affordable overall (though the okra didn’t feel worth the cost). All in all, Uncle Lou’s was just okay. The wings were solid, but the sides, service setup, and attention to details like utensils and napkins need improvement. I left not feeling impressed.

Best Wings of Memphis is a casual eatery that serves up delicious chicken wings, burgers, and fish dinners. Whether you're dining solo or with a group, they offer wing platters in various sizes accompanied by crispy fries. The fish basket is also a popular choice, featuring generously sized portions served with fries and homemade tarter sauce. While the coleslaw may not be to everyone's taste, the well-seasoned fish and attentive service make it worth a visit.
The best kept secret in Memphis! We had the catfish basket combos, plus we got a piece of banana cake and strawberry cake. Excellent choices... the cakes were so moist and perfectly flavored. There were not too many people dining in, but there were lots of people getting their orders to go. We will be going back!
Lynn H — Google review
Ordered the fish basket. They were pretty decent sizes and came with Fries. I wasn't a fan of the coleslaw. The tater sauce is homemade. My bread was a little too toasty so I didn't eat alot of it. The food was hot and it wasn't that long of a line. The fish was seasoned well. The service was awesome and she even helped me narrow down my options. It also came with a drink. Next time I may try their wings. They looked really tasty 😋
Nunya B — Google review
I've been there a couple of times prior to today. But today at lunchtime I ordered (2) 7piece fish plates; the fish was cooked too hard with old grease. Totally disappointed this time

Still my go to when I'm craving hot fish. This place use to be BOMB back in the day. Since pandemic it hasn't been the same.

BEWARE!!!! Check your orders!!!! They charge extra for onions rings but when you get your order home you won't have fries or onions rings!!! Shame on me for trusting them multiple times; guess this is a normal occurrence with them. A SHAME FROM ONE OF OUR OWN!!!
Aleasa R — Google review
My fish was cold once I made it home.,mind you,I love less than 5 minutes away. But everything else was good as always.
Teneshia S — Google review
They will never get my business again, my honey hot wings barely had the honey sauce and they dabbed some hot sauce on them the honey sauce was in the 2 small compartments and runny like water, and not enough on the wings. I called and the lady that answered the phone said that's how they're honey hot wings are. The photos advertised on Google doesn't look like the"honey hot" that I was given.
Prencesse J — Google review
They don't take phone orders and the last time I went there, my wings and the customer service were bad. The wing sauce on the honey hot wings wasn't even mixed together. It looked as though someone poured hot sauce on a few wings and honey on the others. This picture was about 15 minutes after I got home with them. They were still hot.

Chicken wings restaurant
Crumpy's Hot Wings Downtown, established in 1991, is a popular wing joint with multiple locations across the city. Apart from their delicious wings, they are renowned for their Suicide Wing Challenge held on the first Saturday of each month. The owner is a local business supporter and family man. The restaurant offers incredibly fast service and mouthwatering chicken dishes that leave customers craving for more.
Crumpy's Hot Wings Downtown is a hidden gem that I couldn't resist, even though I'm cheating on my diet. From the moment I stepped in, the aroma of their signature hot wings filled the air, making it impossible to resist temptation. The chicken they serve here brings back memories of the quality I used to enjoy during the late 1990s. For those who experienced that era, you'll understand the nostalgia it invokes with every bite. Now, let's talk about the sides. The fries are seasoned to perfection, with a delicate blend of spices and salts that add an extra layer of flavor. When paired with the fresh celery and carrots on the side, the combination is heavenly, balancing the richness of the wings. Speaking of the wings, the chef's expertise is evident in every batch. As someone who isn't a fan of hard chicken or heavy ranch dressing, I was pleasantly surprised by how perfectly the chef prepared my order. The chicken was tender, juicy, and cooked just right, allowing the sauce to meld seamlessly with the skin. One of the things that stood out to me was the consistency of the sauce. It was never overly drippy, ensuring that each bite was enjoyable without making a mess. Overall, this particular Crumpy's location is K.Le approved. While there might be other Crumpy's establishments that didn't meet my expectations, I can confidently say that this one delivers a fantastic hot wing experience. And fear not, even though I'm not a fan of the other locations, they still offer a decent experience – just not as exceptional as this one. So, if you're craving some lip-smacking hot wings and a delightful blend of flavors, head over to Crumpy's Hot Wings Downtown. Don't forget to mention my recommendation, and ask them to cook the chicken the same way they do for me – you won't be disappointed! PS THIS LOCATION IS SUPER CLEAN AND THEY TAKE PRIDE IN THEIR APPEARANCE of the store AND customer service! FASHO! Seen it first hand. No lies told. 💯!!!!

I ordered 2 10 piece flats to go and the chicken was very black. I tried 1 of the wings and it tasted old and spoiled. I called up there and told the lady over the phone how the quality of the chicken was. I requested a refund, the lady over the phone was very rude and said they couldn’t accommodate a refund. She acted like she didn’t care and the situation wasn’t that serious. If I’m paying over $50 over some wings, I expect good quality. I wouldn’t recommend this place, and I will be disputing this with my bank. 0/10

Went here when in town. Wings were excellent. Maybe not as spicy as my daughter would like but very flavorful. She really enjoyed the taste and said she would go back anytime. We also had the lemon pepper wings and onion rings. Onion rings were crispy and flavorful. Over all Great experience. Sorry the picture is half eaten. I thought about taking it too late.

When in Memphis, Crumpy’s Hot Wings Downtown location is a must visit! The staff is friendly and the service is nothing less than pure Southern Hospitality! The wings are cooked to perfection and you have got try their famous Honey Gold wings! When I visited the owner was there and told me that they were usually closed on Sundays but she said give me 30 minutes. In that time she summoned her staff and took my order… ON A DAY THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO BE CLOSED!! Now that’s customer service!! Crumpy’s will be one of the first establishments that I visit every time I come to Memphis! You should do the same!!!

I had a terrible time at this location. The girl with the long blond braids was incredibly rude. I asked a simple question, and she immediately responded with an attitude. I’ve worked in the service industry for years and am usually very nice to servers, cashiers, and other staff because I understand how challenging it can be to deal with people, I ordered a four-tender meal and a 10-boneless wing meal. I asked about a drink because last time I ordered the same combo, it came with one. However, she refused to give me one. I was tired of dealing with her attitude, so I just let it go. When I paid for my meal, I was shocked to see that my total was $37, even though the meals were around $12 each online. I tried to contact a manager, but she answered the phone and basically refused to put one on the line. I had no choice but to accept the poor service and leave. This place is a scam with terrible customer service. The girl yelled at me, and the food was terrible. The tenders and boneless wings were chewy and felt like I was eating sauced jerky. And the fries were only a handful.

This little hideaway wing spot continues the legacy of Crumpy's Wings. My first time going, I passed it twice (even though it's sign are quite visible). Service was neutral. But my order was for take out, so I can't say either way. My meal was exactly as I ordered it, piping hot!! Definitely will be returning soon.

This location never disappoints! The wings are always fresh and delicious. And the sauce is just right. I will travel to enjoy the excellent customer service this facility offers. A+ in my book— that's why I keep coming back!

The first time I went, the staff was nice,I didn't have to wait long for my food I ordered the 10 piece all flat wings with seasoned fries very delicious and full of flavor

My first time. This restaurant was recommended by a regular customer who frequents here. The experience was bad from the time we walked in the restaurant. There was no greeting. No other customers were in the restaurant. The cashier was rude. We felt rushed while trying to review the menu. Didn’t get any answers to the few questions we had just blank stares. We ordered anyway. The “regular customer” suggested that we try the fried broccoli. I didn’t like it. My friend ordered the catfish sandwich combo and I ordered the turkey burger. I’m not sure what type of turkey patty was used; what I do know is that it was terrible! I posted pics of the half that I didn’t bite! Didn’t get pics of the catfish because it was already in the trash! The drive from the restaurant to get home was about 10 mins. The food had already started to smell bad by the time we got home!! Maybe this was an off night 🤷🏽‍♀️

Originally ordered through Uber eats. But due to the chicken being burned I had to email them a photo then I took it back when I got off. ( since the cook was in the background saying he didn’t burn any chicken I had proof). I ordered 7 lemon pepper 7 honey hot. But took it all back had to constantly ask the lady to redo the honey hot even though she kept saying wasn’t anything wrong with the honey hot and she just going to redo the lemon pepper. But I never touched my whole order due to how the lemon pepper wings looked… but at the end overall she corrected the order and I was satisfied! Wings are way bigger and better so I would be back again I just won’t order through online delivery I’ll do in person ordering .

Just god awful... They had the paper turned around up front so you didn't see the 92 health score, but I still ordered. The people were walking around in the kitchen with no hair nets. But eventually the food was ready. I got about 10-12 fries. The five fries I could eat were cold and tasted like leftovers from yesterday. But these five french fries were the best thing on the plate. The chicken was cold and soggy truly awful. It was not chicken it was like some type of processed meat stuff. I ordered the tenders. The fish was hot but had the fishiest order I ever smelled. It was so bad I had to roll the windows down. When I picked up the fish it was drippin with grease. It had no taste truly bland. But that's where I found the other seven fries they gave me, at the bottom of the puddle of grease under my fish. I could not eat the fish it smelled so bad. I decided to drink my drink. And it was hotter than my fries and chicken. I decided to throw everything in the trash. Health dept needs to lower that 92 score.

I’ve been all over the world and all over the states… and by far. Do they have some of the best chicken. Their wings are LARGE and well sauced. They are really friendly and accepting of all races and cultures. They didn’t treat me any different (very common out here) I’ll definitely continue to come here.

Unfortunately didn’t get my food or my refund. Talking to UberEats was pointless. Because they said since I canceled it on my end even though I was instructed to since they said they couldn’t on their end. I have always ordered this way but today I went they saying it’s for party wings. But I’ve been there like two other times and got whole wings they were also decent size. So now I have no choice but to dispute it with my bank since I paid for food I didn’t get it. Talked to the manager she said they won’t pay her but UberEats saying they will. So unfortunately I left with nothing but disappointment. She said they probably gave me whole wings because they were smaller but nah they looked big to me. She did try to help nothing could be done. Nothing for the inconvenience when it’s they site that was wrong. Update : I have ordered that way a few times recently and never had that problem. You’ll could have canceled but didn’t want that Uber eats rating to change. You NEVER said I wouldn’t get a refund. But I will forever be blessed because I don’t do business that way ! It should say party wings if that’s the case. But however it didn’t. So you’ll stay blessed ! Like who would even cancel a $42 order if they knew for a fact they wasn’t getting a refund or food ..

Cozy Corner Restaurant is a long-standing favorite for barbecue enthusiasts in Memphis. Established over two decades ago, it has become a beloved spot for classic Memphis pork ribs and other intriguing specialties. The restaurant's no-nonsense setting adds to its charm, making it a must-visit for those craving authentic barbecue flavors. In addition to the traditional offerings, Cozy Corner also stands out with unique dishes like whole Cornish Hen and turkey, available with advance notice.
If I could give Cozy Corner Restaurant more than 5 stars, I would. I ordered the ribs, and let me tell you, these aren’t just good ribs… these are life-changing ribs. The flavor hits you like a smoky, savory hug, the meat falls off the bone like it’s been waiting its whole life for this moment, and that sauce… oh man, the sauce! Perfect balance of sweet, tangy, and smoky with just the right kick. Every bite felt like a celebration of BBQ done right. I’ve had ribs all over Memphis, but this? This is the standard now. Cozy Corner isn’t just serving food, they’re serving happiness on a plate. If you’re in Memphis and you don’t eat here, you’re missing out on what might just be the best BBQ experience of your life. Period.

Not much to look at from the outside but the food was delicious especially the cakes and the rib tips were so dang tender. We got the hot sauce but it wasn’t spicy. The potato salad was yummy. I wasn’t a fan of the baked beans. I definitely think the cakes are better than the peach cobbler.

My fiancé and I stopped here after hearing so much positive feedback about the BBQ and now, we can add to it. We got a slab of ribs, smoke sausage, potato salad, and baked beans. The ribs were tender and smoked just right, fall off the bones. Potato salad was good, could’ve used a little more pickle relish but still amazing. The baked beans had no meat but a great taste of smoke. The smoked sausage was a last minute add on and was really good. I’ve eaten at just about all the BBQ spots and this Has to be the BEST. Highly recommend and will be back. I’m actually going to get some this week and vacuum seal them and send them to my aunt in Virginia. Well done Cozy Corner👍🏾💯

Great spot. I ordered a two wing/two rib plate with fries, and beans, plus a pound of rib tips. All the meats were fantastic, ribs and rib tips especially. The beans have a really nice unique flavor I couldn't put my finger on, but very good. I'm used to fairly expensive Texas BBQ, so I found CC to be very affordable, sandwiches and sandwich plates are very fairly priced. I think I spent about $32 or so, plus I grabbed a sliced pork sandwich plate for my mom on the way out for like $9. Very friendly people, the manager was walking the floor checking on customers and making sure everyone was happy which I always appreciate. All in all a place I would absolutely visit again if I find myself in Memphis. Thank you!

This amazing corner is where it pops!!!! I came in for lunch and it was the BEST BBQ BURGER!!!! Full of flavor on a soft bun with mild bbq sauce and a side of coleslaw, super delicious!!! Inside is simple, nothing crazy… has a Cozy Corner inside of the shop that accommodates 8 guests. Plenty of sitting room. Took me long to come here, but I regret nothing going there sooner. This is a Valdi approved joint!!!!

First time here after looking up bbq spots in Memphis. Cozy Corner did not disappoint! I got the 2 rib + 2 wing plate with double potato salad. My husband got the brisket sandwich. He asked about how much fat comes on the sandwich & although we were told not a lot, it was slightly too much on there for him. However, the flavor was amazing & the bread it was on was very soft. As for my food, it was all I hoped it would be after seeing this place on TikTok. The flavor was there but not salty which I appreciate greatly. The meat was cooked perfectly. Not dry at all nor undercooked. It really reminded you of the grilling Uncle at your family’s cookout. The potato salad was good, the potatoes could have been cooked a smidge longer but the flavor was a lil sweet with a good twang from the mustard. Overall, we’ll be back! Highly recommend!

As a Texan, I have always wanted to try Memphis barbecue, and boy o boy, we were not disappointed. We found this spot on our way through right off the interstate. The ribs were meaty and tender, and although the sauce was very different than what we were used to, it was still delicious. The bbq beans were baked in that sauce and to me seemed a little sweet but not bad, potato salad was good and fries nice and crispy. People were friendly and price for what you get is very reasonable. If you’re in the area, give this spot a try. It may not be pretty on the outside, but your taste buds and stomach will thank you.

Bayou Bar & Grill is a popular spot in Memphis, TN, offering a taste of New Orleans in the heart of Overton Square. Established in 1987, this venue serves up Southern fare and Cajun specialties like poboys, jambalaya, gumbo, oysters, and red beans and rice. The spacious loft-style setting provides a trendy atmosphere for enjoying dishes influenced by both southern and international cuisine.
Absolutely fire food. Blackened chicken and shrimp pastawas amazing. A mix of rich white sauce and tomatoes and small amounts of onion. The presentation was on point. Portions were perfect. Chicken was extremely soft and well seasoned. I can not get this back home in Quincy Illinois. 5/5 all day. I also had their chicken strips. Crunch was on point. Seasoned. Delicious. My wife had the shrimp and craefish antufee. She loved it. My sister had the poboy shrimp sandwich. She liked it but needed more meat. We also had 3 hurricane drinks. Delicious and made with plenty of booze. Price was fair. Gratuity was included. Staff friendly. Waiter great. Food fast!

I’m really disappointed with my experience at Bayou Memphis. Someone in our party ordered the pasta and it was honestly inedible — the flavor and texture were terrible. When we politely brought it to the manager’s attention, we were told they have a “new policy” and they refused to replace or refund it. For a restaurant that prides itself on Southern hospitality, this was such a letdown. Poor customer service and even worse food — won’t be returning.
Philena H — Google review
Visited this place for lunch during a trip to Memphis. The menu has a variety of Louisiana-inspired fare. I ordered the raw oysters as an appetizer and they tasted fresh and as good as any oysters I have had in the past. I ordered the catfish po boy as my entree. The piece of catfish was huge on the sandwich but unfortunately it had a muddy taste that's often associated with larger cuts of catfish. The other patrons were a little loose and swearing very loudly and I noticed the wait staff seemed frustrated, at least during my visit. Overall it was not horrible but I don't think it would be my first choice when selecting an eatery.

I really wanted to like this place, but our visit was disappointing. The pasta was awful — truly not edible — and when we tried to talk to the manager, we were told they don’t refund or remake orders anymore. That policy makes zero sense for a restaurant that wants repeat customers. Sadly, we won’t be back.

Alex's Tavern is a legendary Memphis institution that comes alive late at night, making it the perfect spot for those who want to experience the city's nightlife. This classic dive bar is known for its potent drinks, shuffleboard, and old-school jukeboxes. The menu features delicious BBQ meals, including their famous Greek burger seasoned with secret Greek seasonings.

If you’ve been to Alex’s, you know the atmosphere is awesome. The food is great but pretty expensive for a dive bar. If you go, get the wings, Greek burger, and gumbo. The service is hit or miss. Last time we went, the bartender was so enamored with talking with two guys at the bar, he seemed to forget he had 7 tables waiting to give him an order lol. He seemed more concerned with chilling with his buds than doing his job. I get it’s endearing sometimes for a dive bar to have cranky, slow servers. But having bad service while the food is overly expensive? Not great. Still love this place though. Great Memphis establishment.

New to the area and asked locals where to go and this is where they suggested. I had the pulled pork sandwich with the house made jalapeno and blue cheese slaw. It was amazing. 9 out of 10. My middle son had the half rack of ribs he had two sides, he chose chips and baked beans. It was good, I've had better, but he enjoyed them. However, the beans had flavor, and I wanna say jalapenos. Whatever they had in them made them the best baked beans I've ever had. Ribs 6/10 Baked beans 10/10 My youngest son had pancakes and bacon (this was late in the afternoon but they were still serving) They looked amazing and tasted as good as they looked! 10/10 My oldest has the wings full smoked jerk dry rub 6 piece. Again they were full wings so you could probably call it a 12 piece. His side was also chips. Wings were an easy 8/10 Overall nothing disappointed, however I did expect more from the ribs. The total cost was $73 Which seemed a little high but that sandwich made me forget about the cost. Seating inside was limited, they stayed busy, plenty of seating outside though. Parking was a little different. I just parked on the curb.

Okay, this barbecue joint is a shack! And it's awesome. By the way, if you get their barbecue nachos, you're going to be eating for like a week! I mean there was so much meat on there that there is no way they're making money off of that! I worry for them to stay in business! They handed me my pork nacho container and it weighed literally pounds. I ate until I was in pain and then I took all of the leftover pork and it's got to be at least a pound of meat that I'm taking home to make barbecue sandwiches with later! Crazy! The andouille sausage was also crazy delicious. And they chopped it up in little pieces and they must have pan-fried it because it was slightly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Insanity!! The brisket is also fantastic. Bottom line - don't eat all day, then go to Elwood's.
John P — Google review
BBQ at Elwood’s Shack for the win! Would have never expected myself to stop by a small shack on the shoulder road of a Lowe’s to eat BBQ, but I’m glad I gave this highly rated spot a try. I especially love how tender and fatty the beef brisket was cooked. The Memphis style ribs is smoked to perfection and each bite falls off the bone tasty. These ribs easily wins all other larger chains by a landslide. The steelhead trout taco was also very tasty on a crispy crunchy tortilla. The fish is slightly fishy, so I’d go with a brisket or cooked legged meat next time. I’d come here if I were a construction worker picking up grub alongside my trip to the hardware store. Recommend stepping outside for fresh air and a better dining experience.

We stopped here on our drive from Ohio to Texas after searching Reddit recommendations for places to eat in Memphis. The smell was amazing! We got the 3 meat plate, and the BBQ slaw dog. Everything was DELICIOUS! If you're in the Memphis area, it's worth a visit!

This was our first time eating here. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable of their best selling items, which was very helpful in making our decision. So, we ordered the 3 combination meat plate (Brisket, Pulled Pork, and Jerked Wings) with beans and coleslaw. The bbq sauce is really good. We didn't have to wait long for our food. We will definitely come back.
Marc L — Google review
This is one of those places you just have to go try. It's located in the Lowe's parking lot and is clearly popular with locals. It was crowded at lunchtime but the wait wasn't long. You order at the counter inside and can sit inside or on picnic tables outside. We had the prime meatloaf melt and a BBQ pizza. Both were fantastic and we snacked on the leftover pizza the rest of our road trip.
Brandon B — Google review
I ordered the Philly cheese brisket wrap, baked beans and the BBQ brisket nachos. The food overall was excellent. Brisket was tender and flavorful, and the wrap was delicious. However, the BBQ sauce really missed the mark. It clashed with the flavor of the brisket and threw off the taste of the nachos. Thankfully, the service made up for it…fast, friendly, and absolutely no wait time. Would definitely return, but I’d skip the BBQ sauce next time.

Whether you're stopping by after a night out or grabbing breakfast on the go, Dixie Queen delivers tasty options like double cheeseburgers and onion rings that are sure to satisfy your cravings.
***All food and specialty beverages are prepared, cooked, and made as they are ordered so be aware that you will wait in line several minutes especially if their are multiple cars ahead of you*** This location is always deserving of 5 stars each time that I visit because my food is always hot and fresh and the customer service is also great as well. Of course, you can't expect Chick-fil-A customer service anywhere except for Chick-fil-A so please don't think that you'll be smiled at continuously and told "My pleasure" after every encounter. I ordered a mix of their honey gold and lemon pepper wings with seasoned fries and a banana milkshake. The honey gold sauce was delicious, the lemon pepper wings had the perfect amount of lemon pepper seasoning without being too overpowering or salty, and the seasoned fries were crispy and had the perfect dusting of salt. The banana shake was delicious too and a plus is that they use real bananas. They work really hard here and they are all appreciated for making those late night snack runs worth the wait.

This place is good for quick wing stop.

We (3 of us)went to this Dixie Queen because the one near us closed down. We drove about 30 minutes for this special event. We got ice cream cones. The lady handed me mine and it landed in my lap. Then when I told her the ice cream just fell off, she got mad. Luckily she had given us lots of napkins. It was a mess!!. The other cones I asked for cups to put them in. They also would have fallen. The ice cream the others ate was okay. I think their ice cream machine is broken, they just should have told us. We obviously will not be going to that Dixie Queen again.

Dixie Queen, your days are numbered. I ordered wings, and when I got home, I discovered a few that were spoiled. They only gave me about ten fries, and my blue Kool-Aid was watered down. The prices are too high for such poor-quality food. The Overton Crossing location is even worse. My cousin came to town and was disappointed with both the wings and the price of a combo. I refuse to spend my money at Dixie Queen again.

Amazing staff, very knowledgeable, and some of the best wings we’ve ever had! The Orange Mound and the Memphis Soul were our absolute favorites, and the fried green tomatoes were also fantastic. Hands down, highly recommend this place.

First time here and food was good. This place is very well lit and the owner was really nice. A good amount of tables to sit and eat and watch tv. My wings could've been crisper but they were still good. I def recommend if you are in the area

Small but mighty. Best wings we've eaten. Wow. Not from around here but we would definitely come back if we come back to Memphis!!! Our son is a wing connoisseur and he said by far the best wings he's ever eaten!!! The burger is huge, the fried green tomatoes are the bomb!!! Don't be scared that the place isn't all fancy,,we were actually gonna turn around and go somewhere else but soooo glad we gave them a chance. Lady behind the register was an absolute sweetheart. Thanks for the great dining experience. We loved it!!

Bar
Slider Inn in Midtown Memphis is a popular hangout spot known for its Maine lobster rolls, housemade lemonade, and cocktails. The rustic establishment offers a deck where patrons can enjoy their food and drinks. One of the must-try items is the Jameson Slushie, a refreshing concoction made with slushed ice, Peychauds bitters, homemade lemonade, and Irish whiskey.
This place has a really nice deck outside. That usually has seating available. I have visited at times when they have trivia going on as well and that was fun. The sliders are unique and really good. They have some vegetarian options for sliders as well. The fries are top-tier. They also have specialty drinks. Don’t sleep on bourbon mayo to dip your fries in.

I always pass this place and see it's busy. Decided to finally give them a chance. You can sit at the bar, patio, or at a table. The food was good. The waitress was awesome. I wish I would've tried another drink. This place is a great place to have a meal with friends and chit chat.

Been here a few times, sadly the service and food were not up to par. We went on a perfect day to sat outside, worst experience I've had in a long time. They allow smoking, so if you enjoy others puffing with no regards to others, then you may enjoy their patio. Our waitress was not pleasant, even after I spoke first. Ordered the steak and egg sliders, since it was brunch, my sliders had no seasoning, the egg was not cooked evenly, and they were just bland; as least the fries were good. I leave you this review as an opportunity to bring your business back up to the standards it was last year. I'm sorry, I have no plans to return anytime soon.

The meal was good, the service was decent, and the atmosphere was great even when the DJ went Slayer on a sunny Sunday afternoon. The meal was a bit pricey, and I'm not a fan of the added 20% gratuity, anywhere. I'll go back to try the variety of sliders!!

Ordered take-out... food was going to be ready sooner than I expected. I told the lady on the phone how far away I was, and she offered to hold off on the order for a few mins before sending it back to the kitchen. My food was ready upon arrival & hot, just like I like it, when I got home. Fries don't take long to get cold once the container is opened. Everything was delicious, and would absolutely return!

Food is very good. The Jameson Slushie is tasty. The Memphis, the Hangover, and the chicken slider were highlights.

Worst service in Memphis - and that’s saying something. Food is fine. Owner will respond to give them another shot. This was their other shot. Been coming here for years and it just keeps getting worse. Will be my last time. For some reason I get 3% better service when I come with my boyfriend instead of when I come alone even though I am the one that pays. The mushroom burger used to be good but now they don’t season it at all. Usual order is sampler with falafel, chicken, and burger. This time I was begging for service just to get my order in. Told the server the beef was off and was offered for the chef to make a fresh one. I hope I had a fresh one to start with? I passed. Terrible for a single person Terrible for a single female Terrible for someone that loves food Better places in Memphis who value their customers for sure

We had to fight the flies the whole time we was there. Food was not good and very basic. They seem use premade chicken strips on the chicken sandwiches. This place has fallen very low! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL

Hattie B’s Hot Chicken in Memphis, Tennessee has a rich history dating back to the mid-1930s. The founder, James Thornton Prince, created the famous hot chicken recipe as an act of revenge after his girlfriend overloaded his fried chicken with spices and peppers. This legendary establishment offers seven levels of heat for their hot chicken, allowing visitors to choose their preferred spice level. The restaurant is known for its great service and fresh, crispy chicken.
I absolutely enjoyed all the food. I ordered the Chicken Tenders with Pimento Mac & Cheese and Greens. I ordered and waited for my dine-in order. It took about 5-8 minutes before the food came out. The food was fresh and filling. The staff were also pretty chill and polite. I would definitely recommend this location to anyone wanting some good chicken. Definitely will be returning soon.
Baron H — Google review
Hattie B’s Hot Chicken is a pit stop for those who crave spicy fried chicken. My first order of boneless chicken tenders were limp, not crispy and rather tasteless. Not impressive, and would have stopped coming all together. But everyone else’s orders look red hot and crispy. So I knew there must have been an inconsistency. On my second visit, I knew better and ordered what everyone else got. Bingo! It was the best crispy fried chicken in town. I highly recommend the Bone-In Plates menu as they are freshly made to order and come out hot and crispy. You can ask for your order to be done extra crunchy. The mild hot sauce is also pretty tolerable and spices up the chicken with that oomph factor I didn’t know I needed. Hattie B is where it’s at!
Eda — Google review
I must say…the wings taste like they are from Jackson, Ms. I got the three wings with greens. The green look like home grown greens but taste like canned greens. But the wings…yes. Got three whole wings mild and it was crispy and delicious. Will Be back for the chicken. And I will ask for more pickles. 2 wasn’t enough.
Tim S — Google review
Ordered the mild chicken tenders, fantastic taste and great spice level for someone who’s not able to handle too much. The fries came out hot and tasty as well. Very clean inside and the service was great. It even has a section of outdoor seating and a bean bag toss. I will definitely be visiting again the next time I’m in Memphis, well done Hattie B’s!

First time giving an actual review. Writing this as I eat my vanilla ice cream. Walked in and was greeted by a warm welcoming smile. First time here so I don’t know what to order. I asked for recommendations and I ordered the 3 piece hot chicken combo. I’m not much a spicy food enthusiast so I went with mild but I should’ve given it a spice extra since it would’ve added a bit more kick. Pimento Mac and cheese is really great. Spicy and creamy. Got offered the hot sauce so I gave it a try and had the same spice level as the Mac and cheese so it tasted amazing with the chicken. And washed it all down with an Arnold Palmer. Wish we had one of these in Little Rock. 🙏🙏🙏
Orlin — Google review
I ordered over doordash, and zoo wee mama! They were not kidding around with that spice this time around. I've had the shut the cluck up tenders before but this time around, they were so hot, I had to take a break between tenders to get my bearings straight. Absolute phenomenal. I wish there was a way to ask for it to always be this spicy. 10/10 best hot chicken I've ever had.
Roll-Penut — Google review
Honestly Hattie B's fried chicken is the best fried chicken I have eaten in Memphis by far. I went in early March with a group of friends. When we arrived, Hattie B's was packed inside, so once we ordered, we had to sit in their enclosed outdoor patio. Luckily there was some heating, but not a lot, as it was still chilly out. I ordered the Half Bird Dark Meat with the Pimento Mac and Cheese and a side of fries. This is the order you want to get if you go to Hattie B's. First, let's start with the mac and cheese. At a lot of restaurants, the mac and cheese will either be cooked well but not enough cheese, or it will be cheesy but incredibly dry, or it just won't be seasoned. You won't experience that here at Hattie B's. Their mac and cheese was incredibly cheesy thanks to the pimento cheese, and it was seasoned beautifully with salt and paprika and thankfully, the pasta itself was not dry. Second, the fries. The mac and cheese was well seasoned, but the fries were WELL seasoned. Honestly you don't even need ketchup for these fries. The best is saved for last. The chicken. At most fried chicken places, the biggest concern is grease and dry chicken. Those worries don't exist here. The chicken at Hattie B's is so juicy, I swore it melted in my mouth. I got the medium spice level for the chicken, but that spice still packs a punch, but not so much so you're only tasting spice. No, you still get to taste the flavorful breading and the juiciness of the chicken. I wish I could come back sooner!

The food was amazing and so was the customer service. I was served by Landon and he was a sweetheart and even gave me a recommendation on what to eat. I’ll definitely be coming back!! I love the vibes here along with the food. 🫶🏾

B J's Buffalo Style Hot Wings is a casual dining spot that specializes in mouthwatering wings and an impressive selection of sauces. While you might encounter a line, don’t let it deter you; the wait is absolutely worth it as it moves quickly! The vibrant flames adorning the exterior are a fitting representation of the fiery flavors within. A must-try here is their classic buffalo hot party wings paired with crispy fries and refreshing lemonade—an unbeatable combination!
My fish sandwich was really good, fried hard, perfectly crispes, seasoned crinkle cuts, good cheat meal 😋 Also, I say a prayer for my sister and include in this review-- for those who would read and agree by submitting a heart: I pray for my sister Ms Joyce, who works at this restaurant, God's word says, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing ye shall receive, I pray that Ms. Joyce prayers falls on the ear of God, that whatever she needs she will get from you. Spent $46 cash for food that was NOT Fresh, mind you I’m not asking for a full refund. Not asking for a refund at all. Just for them to make it right. The box clearly says Honey Mild. You can clearly see in the photos they were Honey Hot. I can’t not have hot foods. I bought the food Saturday about 1 hour before closing. Didn’t realize they were closed on Sunday and Monday. I just finished moving so I no longer have the food from Saturday. I still have a receipt and pictures but they don’t want to do anything to even try to make it right. Guy on the phone was rude. I hope someone treats him the same way he talks to people. Not like they actually care about a bad review.

Last night, my husband and I purchased a 15 piece honey gold mild whole wings and a large order of fries. The total was $48 and some change. The chicken wings were horrible. It was like the chicken was old and had been reheated several times. The fries were good. I was thoroughly disappointed that the food cost that type of money, and the chicken was horrible. We stopped there because back in the day, the food was delicious. I am disappointed!

I will say this if you’re in a car going through the drive-through understand you have to be patient but keep your hazard on if you have to go out into the street while waiting in line. Customer Service is going to be fantastic. Please be patient because good quality food takes time to prepare. If everything was made fast it wouldn’t be as satisfying! The biggest standout items for me on the menu were corn nuggets, and catfish nuggets! They do you have it where you can walk up and place your order but this must be done before 7 PM meaning by 6:55 PM. You should already have walked to the window. Placed your order and wait till it’s done.
Jimmy B — Google review
I went to drive thru order fish fillets. They were so soft that they fell apart while eating them. The breading fell off. They could have cooked them longer. I am disappointed . . .
K D — Google review
Waited 30 minutes in a line to be served spoiled wings (you can smell it)with a lot vinegar buffalo sauce to cover the fact that the wings were unfit to be served to customers. Wasted $24 and customer service was really bad. Don’t waste your money, lesson learned. Health department needs to get involved.
Sole R — Google review
Food not crispy like i asked. I asked for a 12 piece all flat crispy. I get home and its only 9 flats even though i was charged for 12 all flats and they are not crispy at all looked like some baked chicken wings. Sad you have to literally count your wings before you get out out line. I suggest to hold the line up and MAKE SURE YOUR ORDER IS CORRECT AND YOU HAVE THE RIGHT AMOUNT. ITS HARD TO SUPPORT BLACK BUSINESSES 🤦🏾‍♂️

Nestled in the vibrant South Main Street area of Downtown Memphis, Good Fortune Co. is a culinary gem that promises an unforgettable dining experience. This delightful eatery, helmed by talented chefs Sarah Cai and Arturo Leighton, specializes in handmade noodles and dumplings that showcase a unique blend of Asian-fusion flavors not commonly found in the Mid-South.
We had the most amazing meal at Good Fortune this evening. The food was unbelievably delicious- crawfish dumplings, Big City Noodles and the ice cream. All were absolutely scrumptious. Every meal that was delivered around us looked delicious as well. We are from out of town but will definitely make every effort to visit again as we want to try EVERYTHING! The staff were fast, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu making great recommendations. They do add a 20% service charge so the staff, including chefs are able to split it and thus, no tipping. We didn't mind this at all as you could tell everyone was working hard and their efforts were great food and an enjoyable atmosphere.
Jessica M — Google review
Seen it on Diners, drive ins and dives. Had to go check it out. Not the best ramen I have ever had but it’s still good. Crawfish dumplings were disappointing but the Chicken wings were probably the best wings I have ever had so crispy and the best flavor. The banana ice scream in the fish waffle cone was a cool dessert and tasty.
Nick K — Google review
As an Asian, I found the flavors at Good Fortune a bit underwhelming. The curry lacked depth and didn’t taste very flavorful, though the noodles were cooked perfectly. The pork dumplings are just okay nothing special . I tried the ube lemonade it was okay, but the artificial ube syrup was noticeable. The matcha ice cream (taitaki style) didn’t have the strong matcha flavor I was expecting coming from a matcha enthusiast that was disappointing 😅. On top of that, the 20% service charge felt excessive for the experience. Overall I expected more given the hype and the price point.
Celine D — Google review
Saw the restaurant on Diners Drive-ins and Dives and said we would check it out when we came to Memphis. Not quite what I expected but delicious none the less. We had the pork dumplings, Sichuan honey glaze wings and the chicken rice bowl. All the food was fresh and very flavorful. Will definitely come again when we roll back through Memphis.

Good fortune is 100% my favorite restaurant in downtown Memphis. The food is great every single time. From the hostess to the waiters and the rest of the staff, everyone is so friendly and the food always arrives in a flash. My go-to’s are the must have GF Wings, the fried tofu rice bowl and the impossible dumplings. It’s always a great decision to stop by!

Good Fortune is a Downtown Memphis staple! Amazing food - charred edamame, THE WINGS, and the chicken rice bowl are my go-to choices! Make sure you save room for the Taiyaki (ice cream) with their rotating delicious flavors, even you think “eh I might not like that,” get it and be amazed!
Bree W — Google review
I enjoyed everything I had and the customer service was excellent. Even with the busy Friday night crowd, we were consistently updated on our wait time and ultimately given the option to sit at the bar so of course we did! The staff was friendly and our food and drinks came out in a timely manner. Here’s what I ordered: Last fall I discovered that I absolutely love ramen so I got the ✨TAN TAN NOODS✨ and it was perfect! (This is a vegan dish but it certainly didn’t taste like there was no meat in it!) Whenever you can get the special, get the special! I had a ✨BLOOD ORANGE TEQUILA✨ cocktail as part of the month’s drink special and I loved that it was just the right amount of sweet. (I actually like to taste my alcohol.) Lastly, I know you see that piece of chicken all by itself. I didn’t order it for myself, I was blessed with it. Get the ✨ GFC WINGS✨ Trust me on this!

I had an amazing burger from there today. The onion rings were awesome as well. Except for the mustard and ketchup, the topping come on the side, and y'all that know me know this is a plus for me. Their wings are phenomenal as well. Check this place out if you are into the area. You won't be disappointed. Full disclosure, I had already been into the onion rings before the pic was taken.

I have always been a fan of Mr. P's and visited their previous location often. The food never disappoints. This time we visited the new location and the atmosphere was terrible. The 2 tables available inside were worn, sticky and very grimey. The soda machine was broken, so we had to select a canned drink with no refills. (Same price) The restaurant was also very hot and smelled like old grease. The food was great, but I will not return to this location due to the uncomfortable and disappointing atmosphere. It's sad to see a place that used to be a #1 pick reduced to a hole in the wall. If you want to enjoy their great food- get it to-go!

I better not ever come here again! The fries were okay but it's almost impossible to mess fresh fries up. Their "Philly Cheesesteak" came with American cheese and they didn't have any option for any other cheese. I ordered a chicken Philly so I had to send the food back. I also requested no cheese because who puts american cheese on a real philly? Now yall look at my photo. The "grilled" peppers and onions were almost raw and the "chicken" was dried out and old! They better hope they don't give nobody food poisoning. I will never in life send anyone I care about to this place.
Lakeysha B — Google review
I'd like to begin by saying that I'm basically a garbage disposal, so it is very rare that I don't eat what's in front of me. Now, my girl ordered our food online. When I got there, I gave the employee the name and said I had the order number. The employee then asked that I call her so she could give them a description of the person picking up the order, then show the confirmation number, then show my ID. Like... we aren't doing an arms exchange... it's a Philly and hot wings, why all this proof of identity? So now we have the food. The sauces were hot. The top-secret wings my girlfriend ordered extra well done were very cold and soggy. She also didn't get the fries that she was uncharged for. My Philly, guarded like the US nuclear codes, which was supposed to be meat, cheese, and onion only, was cold and without cheese. The meat was terrible quality, the onions were steamed(?) and then put on a hot surface to burn. What about the bun? Glad you asked... it was not like in the pictures online. It was definitely cheap, and seeping with grease. I had to wash my hands three times as I added my own cheese and took a couple of bites. I'm not, by any means, a picky eater. I also don't leave a lot of reviews. But my sweet girlfriend spend $35 on our dinner that wasn't worth $10, and I'm STARVING. So we will not be back and we will enjoy Taco Bell instead. Don't eat here.

Unfortunately, my visit to All Star Hot Wings was not a pleasant one. The place didn’t feel clean, and there was a strong odor that made the experience uncomfortable. The staff at the counter came across as unfriendly, which added to the negative vibe. I was also disappointed with the food — it didn’t taste fresh, and some items seemed undercooked. Overall, it felt like the place could use some serious attention to cleanliness, customer service, and food quality.
Prasad P — Google review
I had two back to back bad food experiences with their food. I ordered some mild hot wings from them and the wings sauce was so salty I couldn’t eat my food, I had to return the food to them. The second order was just as bad my food was so, salty I made the decision to never order from them again. I was a regular and faithful customer however all good things must come to an end.

My husband and I placed a carry out order for 2 wing/fish plates and an order of party wings. We placed the order at 2:15pm and received cold food after 1 hour of waiting time. This is the 2nd attempt to support this company and both times I've been disappointed. Look at this plate! The presentation is horrible and just look at the Cole slaw!?

Will not ever return to this Perkins location. The wings were so small it should have not even been sold. The children that were fed from this offer had to have a double portion due to the size. The wings were bagged before I got there and now I realize why because of the size of the wings.

The food here is usually great but I order catfish nuggets and they were hard and nasty. They look like they had been dropped 2 time. So hard I could not eat it .There is no fish even in the corn meal. I am a health worker. I was starving. Nothing to eat because I could not even bite into it.

The food was cooked fresh but the fish need little more cooking time and seasoning to the fish or meal batter because the fish taste like flat out water and I am assuming it is soaking in water all day in the refrigerator so I understand but add little more seasoning. The guy at front counter very courteous and did acknowledge everyone that came inside the restaurant which I like and he did not have no attitude, he was not rushing, and not playing on his phone an for that I will eat there again.

I haven't been to captain jjs in a couple of years. And man, have they went downhill. The only thing i would probably buy from here is their hot wings. They barely season the fries after i told them to season well. It taste bland and plain. They honey hot is nasty. They barely had any sauce and the little sauce they did have on there taste like they just mixed actual honey and hot sauce together. If you want some fye go to jr fish and chicken. Specifically, the one on Riverdale. They always come on point.

CHECK YOUR ORDER BEFORE LEAVING! Ordered 20 whole wings combo with seasoned fries and a 2 liter drink for 27 dollars. Got 20 party wings with unsalted unseasoned fries for 27 dollars. Extremely disappointed because I’ve been here a long time. Will not be coming back...

If you're on the hunt for a fantastic lunch spot in Memphis, look no further than Supreme Hot Wings. Nestled in a cozy shopping strip, this gem is known for its mouthwatering chicken wings that are consistently crispy and well-seasoned. The family-run establishment prides itself on quick service and ensuring every order is just right. While their wings steal the spotlight, the menu also features an array of tasty options to satisfy any craving. Don't miss out on their delicious fries and homemade desserts like banana pudding!
My family and I ordered wings, catfish, and shrimp. This meal was a comfort food experience at its finest. Every item was fresh, well-seasoned, and crispy. The staff were all family as far as I know, and were very nice. Will definitely be ordering again!

Best Honey hot wings I’ve had in a very long time everything was fried perfectly the only think I don’t like it’s the packaging fee I was charged what is that lol

The OWNER is behind the counter assuring your order is correct and wonderful. Delicious cakes and homemade banana pudding. It was a pleasure going here. I will return.

Fried to perfection! Honey Gold Hot... You must try the 10 piece Catfish strip plate! Fried chicken tender sandwich is also good. Seasoned fries.

Because this is a black business, I fully support, but Friday the food was disappointing maybe because they were busy. Ordered lemon pepper wings with extra seasoning and it taste like fried unseasoned chicken. The fries were overcooked and lacked seasoning as well. I may try again, but it won't be anytime soon, on the pricy side as in everything nowadays I do recommend restaurant, but need the restaurant to actually season the chicken,

I order food from Moe's only three time, each time my order was the same food, which was an order of plain fries cooked soft and a Philly chicken sandwich. My first visit everything was cooked just right, my second visit I order the same, most of the fries weren't cooked completely done and last and final visit my fries were stale and the bread was also stale. I can't afford to try Moe's again two visits with the food not cooked correctly will make it be my last visit. Not sure about any other food there didn't get a chance to try something different because of the last two terrible orders...

I was on my way in a Uhaul to help a family member move some things to a storage unit. The only place that caught my attention was Supreme Hot Wings on Whitten Rd in Memphis. The restaurant is kind of small but located in a small shopping strip. In my case that was ok for me because it looks like they are designed to do more to-go orders than dine in. This was my first time visited so I wanted to take a chance. Of course their specialty are wings but their menu has a nice selection to choose from. I ordered a turkey burger with regular fries and a drink. When I got to my destination, I sat in the truck and ate my food. Believe it or not, it was delicious! The turkey burger was a little juicy and they gave me plenty of fries and was not too salty! I'm definitely going to stop by again! Next time I will have to try their wings!

Y'all I love this place. The family that runs it could not be more wonderful! The wings are always hot, crispy, and well seasoned! Also they get you your food on time! I don't think they even know how to make a soggy wing thank goddd. So many places in Memphis will sell you a soggy wing. Head on over next time you need your wing fix (and don't forget to add their fries and cake!!)

We always go here it’s the 🍗 BEST WINGS WE’VE EATEN AND HAVE GREAT SERVICE AlWAYS not like other places that have okay wings and have an attitude. WE ALWAYS BUY THE SUICIDE WINGS, BUFFALO AND HONEY HOT WINGS. This are wings to us. We always order the 50 party wing or 100 and they all enjoyed the wings and asked us where we get them. They have 2 locations but I live and love my service in horn lake, Ms. The other one is in Memphis I think. They always give a cozy vibe with their service and I enjoy my wings even more. Great place to have good wings and service. We come here all the time it’s our go to Take Out to feed our guests. They also have my wings in 15 min tops they kinda hidden but there the best if you get here.

I recently visited this establishment and ordered shrimp egg rolls, a two-piece fish combo with an additional fish, a 20-piece lemon pepper wings, and Hot Cheeto shrimp egg rolls. The total cost was $93, and the wait time was approximately 35 minutes. While some may consider the price steep, it's important to acknowledge the rising costs of inflation and meat shipping, which have impacted the food industry. Given these economic factors, I found the pricing reasonable for a restaurant in a moderately decent neighborhood. As for the food itself, I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. The flavors were well-executed, and the quality met my expectations. However, I did find the menu somewhat difficult to read, which detracted slightly from the overall experience. In summary, while the food was enjoyable and fairly priced considering market conditions, the challenging menu readability prevents me from rating it higher. I would still recommend this spot to others, but based on my experience, I can only give it 3 out of 5 stars.
Azariel S — Google review
First of all I usually like to order my burgers from here simply because I know the meat is hand patted. This order was not made correctly, I asked for no mayo I got mayo the other burger I asked to add grilled onions, I got mayo and onions only no lettuce or pickles. These fries are usually good but you can tell they were dropped a second time. The fries were hard and burnt, as you can see in the picture. I’m really disappointed in the quality of this meal. The lady that took the order was not paying attention at all. As a black business y’all need to do better with customer service.

20pc with 1 ranch is crazy. \o.o/ just make the ranch from scratch and charge more. The wings are mid & dark around the bones. The buffalo roll cool but it’s too small. Spent $44 didn’t finish any of it.

I took my shrimp alfredo pasta order back because I received chicken.. The ladies were friendly and asked the cook to remake it. The shrimp pasta I was given the second time had so much Old Bay in it that it was inedible. The sauce didn't even taste like alfredo at all anymore, it had turned an orange color and it was so salty that I had to throw it away. We love this place and I order the alfredo all the time.. I don't know what happened, but for a $21 dish I was extremely disappointed.

Waited an hour for sour chicken. You could smell it in spite of all the seasonings trying to mask it. Despicable. The health department should be there soon better tighten up or let it go.

Oh my God; worst experience ever! I order the smoked sausage combo and was very disappointed. First of all it is served on a hamburger bun. I was surprised; I asked about a hotdog bun but the cashier stated that is how they make the smoked sausage. If I had of known that beforehand I would not have ordered it. My fries and sandwich were cold. The sausage was three little strips cut very thin. It looked like they took one half of a smoked sausage and cut it three ways. Sad Very disappointed with my meal. They also charge a 4% fee for non-cash purchases. There is a sign tucked in a corner; it should be hung on the window or a wall perhaps.

Called my order in and the lady with the dreadlocks took my order.. her attitude was very unsettling and unprofessional. It was a pot on the floor with old grease in it. The owner was just sitting there when I came in. No “may I help u” or greeting. One of the cooks was coughing with out covering his mouth. I wanted. Refund after seeing this and I was denied.. I will be reporting them to the health department asap. DON NOT EAT HERE! Look at the other reviews for yourself! They basically robbed me without a gun

Went to this location for the first and last time. They don't have the many options of flavor like the other locations. I ordered a 7pc 🍋 🌶 w/ fries. Cooked to perfection.... on one side. The other side was soft. You could tell the chicken was attacked on each other in the fry basket. Not a taste of 🍋 🌶 until my last wing.

All Star is a popular spot known for its mouth-watering Memphis-style wings, which have been perfected over 20 years. The wings come whole and can be enjoyed with classic sauces like honey gold, honey hot, and "suicide" spicy hot. Customers appreciate the great customer service at various locations, with special mentions of helpful staff members and store managers. The menu also includes cheeseburgers, fried okra, seasoned fries, and onion rings at reasonable prices.
I love this location! Food is always delicious. Service is always amazing. I go so often that they’ve learned my name and order which at first was a pleasant surprise. It feels good to have those small recognitions as a routine customer. They really go above and beyond to ensure you receive the best service and quality food. 10/10 would recommend.

I purchased some party wings with Uber Eats last night and THESE are the wings they gave me. Not only were they not party wings, but look at how tiny these wings were. Usually, you might find 1 or 2 small wings, but all of them? This is unacceptable. I'll continue shopping at the other location because this isn't ok

Wing Guru - Whitehaven is a part of a local chain known for its unique flavors and high-quality ingredients, making it a top contender for the best hot wings in Memphis. It has consistently been voted as the go-to place for the best wings in multiple polls. While some may find it on the pricey side, many agree that the quality justifies the cost. Customers rave about their lemon pepper flavor, even those who typically don't enjoy it.

Man look, I've traveled the county. I eat food from the north, south, east, and the west.... this place has some badass wings!! The fries were awesome too!! The atmosphere seems pretty family oriented. It was casual and nice. Idk if it was the owner or manager but a lady walked in and offered me a drink. That was pretty nice. The lady that took my order was a sweetheart too!! Maybe it was the owners daughters....idk...they sure acted that way. I highly recommend this place. The chicken is fkn great!! Five Stars I had an absolutely fantastic experience at the Wing Guru Whitehaven location! I was there as a private chauffeur for an event and couldn’t leave my vehicle. Despite that, the wonderful staff, especially a young lady named Red, went above and beyond. She took my order and recommended the honey gold wings, which were out of this world! The wings were cooked to perfection, the fries were seasoned just right, and the service was impeccable. If I could give more than five stars, I would! Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for amazing wings and outstanding service. Kudos to the team!

Today, I wanted to give this location another chance. I placed an order @ 11:15, I order all flats seasoned wings extra wet and an order of fries. My fries were cold and seemed old and wings had no seasoning at all. The young lady was nice and my food came out in 20 minutes just like she told me. But, I’ve decided for the amount of money that is being spent in this establishment my food should be good and fresh. I’m very disappointed!!!
Jeri M — Google review
I live in the Whitehaven area not too far from the restaurant. I ordered the 3 piece whole wings with mild guru sauce and fries. The wings were fried hard. Seems like they may have already been cooked before I placed my ordered. The mild guru sauce was tangy and a little sweet but it overpowered the chicken. I would come back and try something else on their menu. I went back the second time and tried the meal again. The whole wings w/guru sauce was tasteful, fresh, and well prepared. They were delicious and easy to chew. I was very pleased with the service that was given.

"These Damn Wings" is a trendy spot with a strong presence on social media. While some customers have had mixed experiences, many are eager to try their offerings. The menu includes halal options and the establishment is known for being open late and affordable. Customers have raved about the lemon pepper wings and tasty fries, with one person even comparing them favorably to a popular chicken joint.
Tried the lunch special and it's a great deal!! $5.99=11 to 2 5pc. Honey Hot w/fries & soda It was yummy!! I was very pleased and will return and recommend you to try!! Great service at window.

This place is pretty good overall. I’ve had their wings, glazed tenders, fries, and Orange Mound Punch. I love that it’s halal, open late, and affordable. I noticed that there are hours posted online, but they had a sign saying they are open 24 hours and I’m still not sure about that. I only took off a star because I ended up having to wait 20 minutes longer than they said originally (we ordered through Uber Eats). It looks like that’s a common issue in reviews so I’d show up 10-15 minutes after your order is supposed to be ready.
Saya N — Google review
I'll be honest, i took a bite out of the lemon pepper wings...first thing that came out my mouth was "DAMN! These some fie wings no lie." The fries are really good too, almost like they are seasoned within a burger or something! Really good chicken, honestly it tasted better then Hattie B's. But to each their own.
St. V — Google review
They should be ashamed of this place. I went last night around 12am. Ordered 10 piece hot w/ lemon pepper seasoning and fries. First thing that was wrong was the chicken was so small. I was still hungry after eating. I got the wings and it was just lemon pepper seasoning. At least the fries was good.
A1 Y — Google review
I ordered wings at this restaurant and I asked for my wings extra crispy and when I got them they wasn't to my liking. The wings were raw and rubbery on the inside. This wasn't my first time hearing their wings are undercooked but I decided to try to them out for myself. I asked for them to remake them or give me a refund and cashier offered to redrop the same wings with the sauce still on them and stressed they couldn't remake my order. The owner argued with me and stated they have a no refund policy that wasn't appearant anywhere.. I stood there for almost an hour going back and forth before a costomer who sat and watched the whole situation gave me $8 out of his pocket.. The owner didn't care if I was satisfied his only concern was him not being able to resale the plate of wings and me giving a bad review of the restaurant.. I will not be spending money with this business anymore nor will I recommend anyone who expects quality food for their money to shop here..
Melvin W — Google review
I didn't even want to give one star, if I could give negative five stars I would... Smh, wings are not only little, but they where so over cooked it was like eating a chip on the bone. grease was clearly old and hadn't been cleaned, because i could taste the burnt grease in my burnt chicken and soggy cold fries. The website menu advertises cake and pie slices, but when I asked for one of each I was told they don't serve dessert, then I tried to order a philly cheese sandwich and was told they didn't have that either, I got a sliver of carrot and celery along with a HOT DOG BUN that had been cut in half in place of a roll. ontop of all that, they gave me the wrong flavors. The only good thing about the whole order was that I didn't waste a lot of money on this "food" Food and Service are TERRIBLE
Alexa M — Google review
I got the mango habanero and the sauce was good, but the chicken was a no go!! It wasn't cooked hard and the grease should have been changed out, because the chicken tasked burnt and really salty! I learned my less I give everybody a shot, but I definitely won't be back!
Kyler G — Google review
Worst experience ever. My order was supposed to be ready in 20 minutes from the time my order was placed. I placed my order at 1151pm...and at 1232 am I still do not have my order. And the only explanation I received was we have uber eats and door dash orders. That sounds like a personal issue that you don't have enough man power to keep up with your orders. I will not be back until we fix the customer service issues.

Restaurant
Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken is a long-standing chain known for its spicy fried chicken and comforting sides, served in a casual setting. The original location opened in 1953 in Mason, Tennessee, and has since expanded to various locations. The chicken is renowned for its spiciness, crunchiness, and juiciness, served with white bread. Sides include fried pickles, green tomatoes, beans, slaw, and even fried rice.
I ordered a take out but while waiting I could observe how professional the staff were and how fun the atmosphere was. I ordered one piece of breast, one tender and fried tomatoes. We stayed just one block away so everything was still hot when we had it. The breast was ok. The meat was a bit plain but the skin was great! The tomatoes were delicious. The coating smelled a bit weird but overall it’s very good. The one that stole the show was the tender. The coating wasn’t heavy but it’s so crispy and hot (like from the hot pepper, not hot as in temperature). I’m not sure if it was world’s best. But it’s very good.
He W — Google review
I visited Gus to try out their sides. I ordered fried okra, Mac n cheese, Cole slaw and fried green tomatoes and a slice of sweet potato pie. Pros: service was great. Staff was friendly and very helpful. I was initially told my order would take 15 minutes but it took less time than that and my food was piping hot when I received it. The pie was my favorite of all the dishes and the ranch dressing they served with the tomatoes and fried okra was excellent. Cons: Macaroni was expensive for the portion size. It was very small. It wasn’t my favorite. Cheesy but a lil too thick for me (my son liked it). The okra and tomatoes were not as enjoyable because they smelled and tasted like chicken or like it could have been cooked in chicken grease. I didn’t really taste the flavor of the tomato or the okra. I tasted mostly grease. Overall, my bill was a bit high for just sides…about 28.00. Overall, I would definitely recommend the pie and maybe even the coleslaw (although I enjoyed it more after adding the ranch dressing).
A C — Google review
Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience. Definitely feel let down by the 6000 overwhelmingly positive reviews here. I get that some places are an institution, and perhaps Gus's used to be amazing. But the experience we had was awful. Service took forever, the food was overpriced and overcooked. And it was a terrible value. For example, a large order of fries was $8.50, and they were straight out of a frozen bag with a tiny bit of seasoning. Literally McDonald's fries are better, so there is no justification for the price. All of the chicken was also over cooked. So if you thought that fried chicken couldn't be dry, think again. At the end of the day, I would strongly not recommend.
John P — Google review
We decided to try Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken for dinner, and it definitely lived up to the hype! I ordered the two-piece plate and swapped the baked beans and slaw for fried rice and potato salad — best decision ever. The chicken was crispy on the outside, super moist, and perfectly cooked — juicy with just the right amount of spice. The sides were flavorful and fresh, and the service was quick and friendly. A must-try if you’re visiting Memphis — this place truly earns its “world famous” title! 🍗🔥
Eduardo C — Google review
Service was fantastic (Thanks to Shorty). We thought the chicken was good, baked beans very good. The mac and cheese and coleslaw were decent. The chocolate chess pie was good. The chicken wasn't our favorite, but it was very good and worth eating there for sure. You also get to keep your plastic cup and the iced tea was really good.
Sherri C — Google review
No trip to Memphis is complete without fried chicken from Gus's. The menu is simple, fried chicken, beans and cole slaw. Loved this place! Southern cooking and fabulous fried chicken. Very busy, small inside. The chicken was incredible fall of bone tender and the slaw and beans made the plate just right!!! 100% recommend!
Hagz — Google review
Essentially this joint may have created some of the best fried chicken I have ever had anywhere in the United States, and after lots of recommendations from both locals and travelers, I can safely recommend it to others as well. The fact that they cook their fried chicken in peanut oil and still manage to maintain food taste and quality is quite impressive, especially considering many have not been able to replicate such. To start with, every piece of fried chicken, whether dark meat or white meat, was extremely juicy and flavorful, despite not the biggest in size. They do equip each table with a bottle of Louisiana hot sauce, which I ended up using for my chicken sandwich. Speaking of the chicken sandwich, it was an upgraded version of the Popeye's type for sure, and I am saying that as a Popeye's loyalist. It was impeccable. The fried green tomatoes were also very seasoned and maintained the right amount of crunchiness with the crust. Many of the sides ranging from the mac & cheese to the fried okra to the baked beans have been tasty in the most conventional sense as well, especially the fried okra, which was right on in terms of its crunch to softness ratio. The only relatively okay item was the greens, which was understandable since it's hard to cook greens in mass in a restaurant setting. It was a bit plain which might have been caused by the amount of juice it contained. The catfish sandwich tasted more like an upgraded version of filet-o-fish rather than containing actual catfish. The combination of the sauce and the fish (the way they cooked it along with the crust) was giving McDonald's quite a bit. I can see how it can turn some people off. I wasn't bothered by it, though. Regardless, for anyone visiting Memphis I would strongly recommend this establishment. Even among all the food options around the downtown area, especially barbeque, I stuck to fried chicken twice while in Memphis, which spoke to how good the food here was at Gus's.
Jay S — Google review
The reviews of the food here are pretty accurate! The Fried Chicken is AMAZING! I’ve been on a mission throughout the East Coast and venues like Kiki’s (Columbia, SC ), Fowl Play (Gallatin, TN), Champ’s (Chattanooga, TN) have really stood out among the their peers! Gus’s really stands out too for their spicy fried chicken. I ordered the 3 piece white plate with fried rice and baked beans. The beans were outstanding but the rice was nothing to rave about. I actually made room for dessert and had the coconut pie a la mode and that was definitely a hit! My server was Whitney, and she was incredible! This is definitely a must visit if you’re in Memphis!

Marlowe's Ribs & Restaurant is a legendary BBQ joint near Graceland in Memphis, offering a unique dining experience steeped in Elvis memorabilia and rock 'n roll vibes. For 45 years, this restaurant has been serving up slow-smoked meats, including award-winning BBQ pork ribs, beef brisket, BBQ shrimp, and their famous Italian-style BBQ spaghetti. Guests can even enjoy a free ride in a pink limo to the restaurant.
Such a cool place!! Elvis vibe was awesome being close to Graceland and having tons of memorabilia. But the FOOD was to die for. Ribs and Brisket were melt in your mouth delicious. Pulled Pork Baked Potato was also really good. Definitely recommend!

Was passing through Memphis & a brother mention this restaurant & one other as must go.. The Elvis theme is heavy but the phone & service is on point. We did the combination appetizer (fried pickles, tomatoes, corn, tenders) and the 4 meat with 4 sides so we able to have a bit of everything. Beef brisket, ribs (the bones literally slides right out) & chicken was cooked to perfection. Our favorite sides were the spaghetti & Mac n cheese.. Honorable mentions was the price, for a family of 4 my bill was less than $100.00.

We are over from the UK and were staying in the Guest House at Graceland and I was looking for a good place to eat in the area. Marlowe's was recommended to us and it did not disappoint. We made a reservation and they sent us a complimentary pink cadillac to pick us up. The driver was friendly and when we arrived the staff welcomed us and took us to a table. The atmosphere was brilliant and the food was great with good generous portions, I can highly recommend the brisket. Great food, great service. Even drove us back to the hotel.

I had to travel through Memphis and business and I remembered seeing Marlowe‘s on the Food Network so I thought I’d have to try it out. What a fun place to stop at in Memphis highly recommend it you walk in and it’s everything Elvis from the music playing to the TVs and the decor. They even have a gift shop. The food is impeccable. I was traveling solo and I wanted to try the ribs and the pulled pork so I got the two entrée Offerings that also came with two sides. I chose the coleslaw and macaroni and cheese for my sides when my food arrived I think there was enough to feed at least three people. They are very generous with their barbecue, offering. The side of coleslaw was creamy with a slight horseradish bite. I believe to it I would say it was a little bit more on the liquidy side than I Normally like however, the flavor was good and the texture was crunchy. I can’t even explain the fabulous macaroni and cheese how creamy and delicious it was. I’m gonna put this as a number one macaroni and cheese at any barbecue restaurant I have been to. The ribs were not my favorite. I would say ranking from one to 10 I’d give them about a six but the pulled pork…I’d give them a ten. It’s right down the street from Graceland so if you’re in the area or not far from the airport either they don’t open till 4 PM but it’s definitely a stop to make.

We had an excellent experience at Marlowe's Ribs! They picked us up from Graceland RV Park in a Pink Cadillac Limo. We had a party of 6 and were sat right away about 6pm on a Sunday. We shared a 4 entree BBQ combo platter with 4 sides and our nephew had a BBQ Beef Sandwich. We had more than enough food. The ribs were the highlight of our meal but everything was delicious. The meat just fell off the bone, super tender and just wow! The BBQ sauce was super tasty. We highly recommend for Great food even if you aren't an Elvis fan! The memorabilia, music and atmosphere was great too. The staff were wonderful as well!

They sent one of their pink Cadillacs to pick us up at the rv park. The restaurant is so cool. The food was superb! The brisket is amazing! The blueberry shot was delicious. Our waitress was so nice. We're glad we decided to eat here.

Wow!!! Where do I begin. This place was recommended by the hotel. From the moment we walked through the door we were treated like family. Our server Ron is awesome, couldn’t do enough to make us happy. Our food was brought out by Michael the pit boss. I don’t have the words to describe how good the food is. If you visit Graceland and don’t eat here you have missed out. Come here to try the best bbq I have ever had . We traveled a long way for this 🇬🇧🇺🇸( Boston)

Bar & grill
Young Avenue Deli, located in Cooper-Young, is a lively spot offering American bar fare and a wide selection of beers. One of their popular sandwiches is the Heat Miser, filled with hot sauce-soaked smoked turkey, jalapenos, peppers, pepper Jack cheese, and hot mustard. The place also offers a variety of fries and an extensive draft beer selection. Additionally, it serves as a live music venue featuring regional bands.
We were very impressed with this sandwich shop. The sandwiches were hot and fresh and delicious. They have an incredible bar and served up great beer on tap. I highly recommend this place. Our service was great and the waiters knew a lot about the items on the menu. It was a great place for a quick lunch.

I went to Young Avenue Deli last night for a little solo date night, and it did not disappoint! I had the Italian sub with their homemade fries—both were absolutely delicious. For dessert, I treated myself to the brownie with ice cream, which was the perfect ending to the meal. I also tried a lemon drop along with some water, and everything was spot on. The environment was fun and welcoming, making it a great place to relax and enjoy good food. I’ll definitely be back!

My boyfriend and I went out to Young Avenue Deli with a few of our friends while we visited Memphis. We tried to come to the Deli before a few months back, but the place was so packed that there wasn't anywhere to sit. We were lucky this time though, and this experience enlightened us on why the Deli was so busy in the first place. First of all, the vibe of the Deli was great. There was a stage for live music, pool tables and foosball. The vintage signs and bar really gave it the deli vibe. Our waitress was incredibly laid back, which I appreciated about the bar/deli atmosphere. The food is what really made this trip worth it. The pimento cheese fries were honestly life changing. The thick cheese stayed gooey as we devoured the fries, unlike other cheese fries where the cheese slides off the fries or it's too little of an amount, there was also a perfect balance of cheese and fry in every bite. The sandwiches were also mind blowing. This was probably the best Chicken Philly I have ever had in my life. The chicken was cooked not in thin shavings which makes it easy for it to come out dry, but instead it was cooked in medium bites, which kept the chicken moist. This paired with the melted mozzarella, onions, mushrooms and bell peppers all on toasted bread made it. My boyfriend enjoyed the muffuletta, and so did I, granted it was a close second to my Chicken Philly. The olive spread on the muffuletta was the best thing about the sandwich, in my opinion. It brought a sense of sweetness to the sandwich which I enjoyed. Overall, I can't wait to go to the Deli again!

We went here a few separate times because it was right down the street from where we were staying. Waitstaff and Bartenders are amazing - food was pretty dang good (get the Mozz sticks) and the drinks were top notch! We definitely made a stop back buy not entirely sober... and they were STILL awesome. PLENTY of room for everything. Plenty. Pool in the back, booths, big bar, high tops and low top tables... like, yeah just go here.

Went on a busy Saturday with perfect patio weather. Food came out relatively quick given how busy it was. I got the Italian sub which looked and tasted more like a pizza flat bread with lettuce, cheese fries on the side with ranch. Star of the lunch was the...... ranch. I'd get the cheese fries again but maybe try a different sub next time.

Super cute and fun bar. Plenty of space inside and out. Really enjoyed my banana moon pie ice cream dessert. It took a while for a waitress to come, and it took a long time to pay. I ended up leaving the table to meet the waitress at the register. Would have been 5 stars if the waitress was more attentive. I’d come back for beers.

Quirky spot decor the food was delicious! The fries were some of the best I ever tasted! My friend had the Ruben ( Chicago style) she said it tasted wonderful. I had the muffuletta probably the best one. Since 🍗 Kwik Chek in the 1990’s!

One & Only BBQ is a Memphis favorite, known for its mouthwatering menu featuring Memphis-style hotdogs topped with pulled pork, mild barbecue sauce, coleslaw, and more. Their fall-off-the-bone ribs are a must-try, while the winter months call for their delicious Brunswick Stew. The restaurant offers dry-rub ribs, BBQ bologna, smoked turkey, and an array of sides at its three locations.
For my first time it impressively calm for a Saturday night, being seated immediately with a party of three. Our waitress was friendly and fast with our orders. Should probably put labels on the bbq sauces for which one is spicy though.

One & Only did a great job of hosting my group of 20 on a Monday night. I was pleased with the speed of service and the food, of course. The baked potato salad is worth just ordering on its own. The pulled pork and tasty garlic bread were fantastic too. And lastly, the banana pudding was amazing.

Went there on Father's Days. Around 1:30 in the afternoon. For a late lunch. We were seated as soon as we walked in.The restaurant was clean and inviting. The smell of BBQ was a welcome smell after traveling from Covington. Our waiter, who's name was Cole, was thoughtful and kind. He allowed us plenty of time to enjoy our appetizer of hot delicious onion rings. Cole often came by our table asking if we needed anything. My boyfriend had the BBQ pork ribs with, coleslaw and beans. The beans had a generous amount of meat in them, that he loved, and put him in BBQ heaven. The ribs were tender and delicious. I had the beef brisket, since I'm from California and grew up on beef BBQ. The meat was tender and seasoned just right. I had the load potato salad which was outstanding. It wasn't heavy with mayonnaise, which I was grateful for. Because I'm allergic to eggs. I had fries as my other side. My boyfriend asked for a steak knife to cut his ribs apart with from one of the other works. Thought to have been a "busboy." He offered to take the ribs back and had the kitchen staff cut those ribs. I don't think those ribs were gone even 3 minutes. There was so much food, that we enough to enjoy for dinner that night. My boyfriend gave a nice tip to be shared with our waiter Cole and the "busboy." The "busboy" we found out was the manager of that location. That manager was out there with his staff making sure everything was getting done. That manager left an outstanding impression on myself and my boyfriend. Their prices were on par, given the cost of food and dining out. It was worth the money and the driver and we will be back. Or and don't forget to try their banana pudding it's worth every bite.

Ate there Friday evening (06-20-2025). I had the Leg Quarter plate w/mustard potato salad and greens. My fiancee had the pulled pork plate w/twice baked potato salad and baked beans. We also split a side order of deviled eggs. Everything was great, though the mustard potato salad tasted store-bought, but I could be wrong. We got some banana pudding to go, and it was very good also. Only reason the Atmosphere gets 4 stars is they had a bad fly problem, hopefully it'll get taken care of. Will definitely be dining there again.

We dined in, a server came to our table and took are order. Jessica was very friendly, she made feel at home. My wife had the beef bisket, so good. One& Only has such flavor in style that's all their own. This is a definite recommend, I got here on a gift card today I'm coming back for sure.

I ordered the Smoked Sausage Platter. I’m dissatisfied because the sausage were cold like they literally took them out the refrigerator! I live less than 5 minutes from this location. Also, the pickle spears and cheese were placed on top of the sausage, which probably made it cold. I doubt that did it because the sausage had no heat in them and literally felt and tasted cold. Also, why would the cook place packaged crackers inside the box on top of the food! Those packages have germs all over it, but yet they put it ON TOP OF THE FOOD…DISGUSTING!!!!! I haven’t been here in months because I usually order dry ribs, but they are ALWAYS wet with water on them-they are never dry…weird!

Mosa Asian Bistro is a casual and relaxed eatery that offers a fresh take on Asian dining. The bistro combines the best of Chinese, Thai, and Japanese dishes, serving noodle and rice bowls, curries, and an array of small plates. Dishes are made to order and known for their freshness. The restaurant caters to business crowds at lunchtime and families as well as couples during dinner hours.
I tried this place for the first time yesterday cause of a coworker. I was honestly so impressed with the food that I went today for dinner. The food was hot and fresh and you can tell everything is made to order. I am also impressed that the food isn’t expensive. I got the general pao spicy beef and my husband got the Korean bbq steak. It’s a good place for a cute inexpensive date And the service was great. Everyone there would make a round coming to check and see that everything was fine. And the atmosphere is cute dimly lit with candles on each table. I would definitely come back again.

This place is absolutely incredible! The food is mouthwatering, and the service is top-notch. It’s not my first time here, and I always leave feeling satisfied. The only downside is that it’s a bit of a drive, about 30-40 minutes. I was super excited to come on Monday, but unfortunately it’s closed on Mondays when I’m off work. I’ll have to wait until Tuesday to indulge again. But hey, the food is absolutely AMAZING!!!!! I highly recommend it! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great food and great service. The manager checked on us twice to make sure we were well taken care of. I tried the Korean bbq beef and my partner tried the broccoli with garlic sauce rice bowl with chicken. Both dishes were delicious. We also ordered a side or picked cabbage for an appetizer which was also a pleasant and light way to start our meal. Overall great experience. Highly recommend. 🤗

Got our food quickly, you pay & order at the back counter and they bring your food to the table. Nice quiet atmosphere, tinted windows. Decent portions but lacking in protein amount, and they gave use regular white rice rather than sticky rice. I liked the restaurant, and recommend the Thai tea!

We went for the dinner and it was late in night, almost close to their closing time. The place was not much packed obviously. The server was sweet. He hurried up as the kitchen was closing but never rushed us. We started with some pan fried dumplings. They were hot, steamy, and good. My husband got some tofu with veggies and I got myself kung pao chicken. Both the dishes were served with steamed rice. The portion size was decent for a single person and the food was hot and fresh. I would return surely.

My husband and I absolutely love to done at this place if we are in the mood to have some Asian food. We usually order "Mr Eddie's favorite noodles" and "veggie pad thai noodles with tofu", and must I say that both of these vegetarian dishes are lip smacking good! This place had the best noodles that I've tasted in Memphis yet. That said we did order their basil rolls and a spring roll as starters today. While the spring roll was as you would expect it to taste, I didn't quite enjoy the basil rolls as much as I thought I would. Overall, if you're looking for some great noodle places, this is the place to try!

I ordered Mr.eddies noodle dish , sesame chicken , and shrimp fried rice . I’m disappointed to say the least .The rice had baby shrimp with visible feces in it, and it turned my appetite completely off the sesame chicken had no sauce whatsoever and they just taste like chicken nuggets. They were OK though crispy I’ll give them that the rice had no flavor at all. the noodle dish was very good. I ordered chicken and I’m so glad I didn’t order shrimps because I would have not eat it if I saw poop visible and I had the potstickers and they were good but would I come here again hell no. Hope this helps someone looking for honesty. 60 dollars on something I didn’t even eat .

Next Door is a laid-back bar and eatery that offers a mix of craft beer, bourbon, and comfort food with a Southern twist. It's the more casual counterpart to Chef Ryan Trimm's Sweetgrass restaurant. While it's popular during sports seasons, it's not just your typical sports bar; rather, it exudes an upscale yet relaxed vibe. The venue features a long bar and a variety of table options for both small and large groups.

Although a 3-star review, I'd give this place another chance. The goat cheese crostini was a delicious starter - definitely a 4-star selection. More goat cheese would've brought it together better. The fried egg sandwich was a delicious selection. If you like your yolk runny, the kitchen can provide. However, if I'm going to spend $12 for a sandwich, it better come with the apple wood bacon that's listed on the menu. (Ours did not.) While well-meaning, the waitress just wasn't on her game. She incorrectly told us that Jackalope was a Mississippi brewery - it's out of Nashville. She was also slow to refill our water; and was mostly absent. If I was in Memphis again, I'd keep this place on my list, but I'd hope for a different server.

I came in last night for the lamb tacos, maybe a beer and watch the rockets/celtics game. I came around 9 and maybe the kitchen was closed? I’m really not certain, due to the fact, no person on staff greeted me. They didn’t acknowledge me at all. I came in went around to the south side of the bar to watch the projector, the game was on. There was a sign that said no sitting in this section, please sit on the other side. I turn around and go to the north corner of the bar and I wait for someone to greet me. I see two people behind the bar whom look like bartenders/barkeeps, later another person shows up back there also. But I never could tell cause none of them came to greet me and/or see if I wanted to order anything. After sitting at the bar in a suit for 10mins and not be acknowledged at all by any staff. It’s a clear message I do not belong in there! So thanks sweetgrass/next door, Noted! You used to be a quality establishment for the area with good nachos but you’ve become a very lackadaisical meh of a miss. So 3 persons on staff, 14 customers at the bar, including myself. Guess, I was 1 guest to many. (SMH) I went to Babalu when i left! Service and Tacos were awesome at Babalu!

Visiting from Atlanta and wanted some exceptional food. I spent $66.12 w/ a 15% gratuity takeout fee added. The food lacked flavor - I needed SALT and have never had to salt any type of Jamaican/Caribbean food. It was awful and that’s being nice. Good portion sizes but it just was not good. It seemed as though the potatoes and carrots were not cooked with the oxtail or curry. I am really disappointed. The cheese in the macaroni and cheese wasn’t even melted properly. I purchased the mom cake but haven’t tried it but I’m scared to at this point. I won’t be back.

Our server Tah was amazing . Food was disgusting and cold . Told us that’s how they serve the food . Drinks weren’t made properly . Manager threatened to call the cops on us because we were honest about how poorly flavored the food was, after explaining to him that not only are we caribbean but have tasted plenty of caribbean food and know what to expect. Then the owner came out and said we can’t expect all caribbean to taste the same. The only thing the owner took of were the drinks that we didn’t touch but still charged for the food that we didn’t eat on a $77 bill. The owner said to not make things about race but that’s all the manager did. Oxtails were bigger than your hand . Rum punch had sprite in it. The owner did try to make things better but he didn’t . The pina colada taste like mystic out the bottle and looks like orange sickle . Do not go if you want to experience authentic caribbean food and atmosphere. Eat here at your own risk!

D'bo's Daiquiris, Wings, & Seafood (D’bo’s Elvis Presley) is a popular spot in Memphis known for its wings, sandwiches, and simple yet delicious food. The restaurant was inspired by the owners' travels and their quest to bring buffalo wings back to Memphis. After experimenting with ingredients and getting approval from friends and family, they set up shop in a customized trailer.
Loved the customer service! My food and punch were very delicious!!! Honey hot wings with lemon pepper absolutely perfect and the fish was fried very well😋!!

I grew up on D’bo’s Wings. A lot has changed. Hard to justify paying $70+ dollars for this. They won’t process your order over the phone unless you’re okay with giving them your card number over the phone. I wasn’t okay with that so I ordered in person. I waited 30+ minutes for my order to be ready. Very expensive. The Food: Dry burgers, dry bread, basic tenders, soggy fries. Considering I have tasted better food for less, I will not be going back.
The R — Google review
I stopped by D’bo’s on Elvis Presley and tried a couple of different meals. The shrimp po’ boy was fresh and flavorful with plenty of shrimp, crisp lettuce, tomatoes, and a good drizzle of sauce. The fries were hot and seasoned well, though a little on the soft side. I also ordered the fried catfish plate—seasoning was on point and the fish was fried just right, not greasy at all. The food overall was tasty and filling, and the portions were fair for the price. The daiquiri was smooth and paired well with the meal. Service was straightforward and quick, with everything packed neatly to go. The only downside is the fries could have been crispier, but that’s a small thing compared to how good the main dishes were. I’d definitely come back for the po’ boy and to try more of the seafood options.

My first time eating at D'bo's. I was excited because I heard good things. I got a seafood boil,kool-aid and Strawberry short cake. The kool-aid was the best thing I had. The seafood was overcooked to the point I couldn't eat it. They use some type of oil in the boil not butter. The strawberry short cake came with fresh berries on top but they were bad and mushy. So all in all I spent 50$+ on food I couldn't enjoy.

Update: March 2025 Okay, so. I’m going to drop the rating to a 4-star. I’m not being petty, I promise. But there are two things I can’t get with… 1. They don’t give you a dipping sauce with a wing purchase. The ranch was $0.69…again. 2. The $1+ price for the seasoning, I get (because everything extra costs) BUT at least make sure the seasoning is sprinkled on all of my wings before you box them up. OR just give it to me on the side. The wings were good, the fries were good but I should’ve asked for them to be a little more crispy and the mild is too mild. If I come back, I’ll get hot. …$0.69 for a ranch when I already ordered wings is really getting to me 😂 —— I just popped in quickly with a friend, not expecting to order anything BUT plans changed once I smelled the wonderful things happening on there 😂 The okra is delicious! The customer service went well for a lunch time rush and the location was very clean. *Just a note that you will be charged $0.69 for ranch.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Another 10/10 Experience at D Bo’s! I had to come back and leave a fresh review after this amazing revisit to D Bo’s! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with such warmth and hospitality that I immediately knew I was in good hands—again. Let me start with Jayla. This young queen is the definition of customer service excellence. Her energy was refreshing, her smile was contagious, and she handled everything with grace and confidence. She was attentive, friendly, and made sure my order was perfect down to the last detail. Jayla, thank you for making me feel like more than just a customer—you made me feel valued. And let’s talk about Ms. Tara, the manager—whew, a true BOSS in every sense! Her presence commands respect, but her spirit is so welcoming. You can tell she runs that place with love, pride, and purpose. The way she checked on guests and made sure everything was running smoothly shows she truly cares about quality and the overall experience. Ms. Tara, your leadership shines through your staff, and your passion for excellence makes all the difference. Together, these two queens created an unforgettable experience. It’s rare to find a place where the food hits AND the service elevates the entire visit. D Bo’s, y’all did it again. Thank you for raising the bar. See y’all again soon! I am so impressed with this business. They have daiquiris, seafood plus more. The cook was on point and made sure he satisfied me as a first timer coming from Southaven. I came in looking for a fish sandwich and the young lady took my order she was just a smiley face ready to take my order. I told her I want to place an order for a fish sandwich and she said we don’t have fish sandwich, but she didn’t let that stop her from asking the cook, so he said we don’t have fish sandwich, now when I say an employee going to another level just to take care of a customer, I say this young cook went above and beyond for a customer. Nowadays some restaurants have fallen short for different reasons, but customers service is still strong in this place with their friendly smile and positive attitude. Great job team ☑️📈📈📈 I will see you soon. Thanks 🙏

I ordered the Philly cheesesteak without the tomatoes with a side of fried okra. The steak on my sandwich was seasoned perfectly and had a great blend of all the peppers and cheese. The fried okra was also fresh and good just wish it had some type of season to them. My son enjoyed his Boneless hot wings and the fries were fresh and seasoned well also. My brother ordered a burger and he wasn't a big fan he said it needed more seasoning. We will definitely be back to eat here again for they had more options to choose from. The service was slow but the food was good!

Restaurant
Collierville Commissary is a beloved BBQ destination in the Germantown and Collierville area, renowned for its mouthwatering smoked chicken wings that are perfect for those with a hearty appetite. Diners rave about the inviting country atmosphere and friendly service, making it an ideal spot to enjoy classic Southern dishes. Many guests have praised their catfish and chopped chicken, while others have discovered delightful surprises like Brunswick stew and banana pudding that stand out on the menu.
Stopped in early Sunday morning before the crowds started. This was our first visit and Sam our waitress made it super easy on us. Absolutely love this place, great country atmosphere, fantastic food, and couldn’t have ask for a better waitress!! Ordered the catfish and chopped chicken. We will definitely be back in the near future.

Brunswick stew was totally amazing! Never had it before but I loved it. BBQ was good also. Service was efficient and friendly. Definitely return
Cheryl H — Google review
Ordered half of the barbecue nachos, total was like $10 and something. I swear I got a salad dressing cup of meat with about 12-13 if thot of chips. Absolutely did not have no taste non whatsoever. I definitely will not return to this location in the future. Get it together.
Peaches — Google review
After years of dining at Collierville Commissary today was a complete disappointment. We arrived at 1:30 and were seated promptly, but it was downhill from there. I was there to celebrate a friends birthday so I did not complain while there, but I will be calling tomorrow. Our drink order was one coke and one water. The server returned with one coke, one water, and one sweet tea because she could not remember what we ordered. She then left the sweet tea to sit and sweat on our table throughout the meal. My friend ordered the 1/2 slab plate which came out missing the roll, and was accompanied by two tiny cups each holding about two tbsp of beans and slaw. For $30 my expectation was higher than receiving what looked like I was at a fast food place. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich which was anything but pulled. It was four chunks of meet on a bun that I had to pull apart before eating. About an hour later, after finishing our meals, our server appeared again to ask if everything was alright and if we wanted drink refills. There were only five other occupied tables so they were not busy. Very disappointed and not the birthday lunch I wanted for my friend.
ANGELA K — Google review
Overall pretty good. Had a pork sandwich, bbq beans, fries, and banana pudding for dessert. Pork started good, finished just a little dry, nothing a little sauce couldn’t fix. Wait staff was timely and nice. Atmosphere in the restaurant was welcoming.
Andy G — Google review
First off, our server was fantastic! My husband's turkey sandwich was great. I got a brisket potato, which is my favorite meal at any BBQ restaurant. It was as though they put scraps in, rather than brisket. So full of fat, very little meat. Incredibly disappointing. I definitely will not be getting brisket again at this location.
Amy T — Google review
This was extremely disappointing. We made a reservation 5 days before going for a team dinner. We even confirmed 60 minutes ahead of time to follow up and provide a heads up and time frame as additional confirmation. We were sat in one room and given one server. He tried so hard and felt awful as he was not given the support to succeed. It took 45 minutes to get out drink order in with an additional 15 minutes for them to get to the table. Thus, 60 minutes just to receive water at the table. The single server was starting to take orders but there was no way he could get them in. I spoke with the manager and instead of supporting his team member & stepping in he was disruptive and went to the kitchen. It took another 15 minutes until the hostess (very kind and doing his best) began helping with order taking. Knowing they had a large group coming in 5 days with the additional 1 hour heads up, they were disorganized which increased ridiculous wait times, service and overall experience.
Gisela R — Google review
Take a picture of your receipt after you add the tip and compare it to your credit card statement. Twice they doubled my $3 tip to $6 for their lunch buffet. The first time I thought it was an error by the person that keyed it in, but when it happened for the second time, I realized that they have a staff member not being honest. Even though the food was good, I am not going back for their dishonesty.

Ubee's is a casual bar and grill located near the University of Memphis Campus. It has a college crowd vibe with decent prices, making it a popular spot for students. The menu offers burgers, sandwiches, and other eats, all served hot off the grill. Customers recommend trying the Two Timer burger and Tots or the Caesar Salad with chicken, as their chicken tenders are highly praised. The place also offers karaoke nights and is known for its friendly staff.
This has been my spot for years now. Today I went in and ordered the Caesar Salad with chicken. Their chicken tenders are THE BEST in the city! If U try and agree! I’ve also had the BLT via doordash and over the years mostly always the chicken tenders and fries! mention this post so I can maybe get a meal free! Lol JK!

This place definitely has a college crowd vibe and decent prices. Just wanted a simple burger and tots so my friend and I came here to eat. The place wasn't crowded at all. We were the only ones there. Ordered our food and we sat in a booth and waited. We can see our food being prepared and it came out hot off the grill. I got the Two Timer and Tots. No complaints about the food. For a quick bite to eat this is the place to go to.

I called the establishment and told them that I received burnt old food and in return I got a response of “I’m the manager I fixed it myself.” These chilli cheese fries are disgusting and also he told me he warmed the fries up in the microwave. I will never order from here again. Oh and the burger burnt and nasty.
Bianca — Google review
This place is strictly for College students.. The food was horrible. They never change their grease you can see it in the fries... I asked for a particular flavor of wings and the wings came without any flavor as you can see.. We also ordered the fried sneaker. I forgot to take pictures but It was black in color they cooked all of the sneaker out of the dough. The dough was very thin and dark. The presentation was horrible..

Cool spot to chill have a drink and hang out with friends. They even have karaoke. Affordable late night eats, cooked to order, so there may be a bit of a wait. Burgers are similar to Dyer burgers but better. Friendly staff.

I spent 72.00 dollars at this restaurant which I I’ll never do again! Lady at the bar was very rude and also the cook! Waited an extra 40 mins for food , when I arrived they did not have 2 of the items I order. The only person that seemed to care was the general manager L.A , who supposedly refunded the whole order and apologized. Also the picture is supposed to be the Midterm meltdown ( with no dang cheese ) NEVER AGAIN!
Corshalla T — Google review
Unfortunately, Ubees seems to be going down hill really fast. I purchased 2 burgers and 2 orders of "cheese beans" and it cost me $50. The food was ice cold and as I was picking it up at the restaurant I was told to make sure I tip by someone working behind the kitchen. Craziest part of it all was the fact that they now charge $4 to get lettuce, tomato, pickle, ketchup and mustard on your burger. Take a look at the picture to see the quality of toppings I received.. Ubees used to be the spot for late night food and now its total garbage. You're better off going to Wendy's and getting a 4 for 4.
Andy F — Google review
The food was good, except for the reheated fries, but this place is filthy and the service is terrible. The lady at the counter was on her cell phone when we ordered, and then on her cell phone when she brought us our food. I had to ask for another cup because the one she went to give me was filthy. This place came highly recommended, but we are most likely not going to go back just because of how filthy it was.

Waffle Mania is a restaurant that originated from the Waffle Mania 901 food truck, specializing in southern fried chicken and golden waffles. Despite not having personally dined there, an UberEats delivery driver has made numerous pickups from this hidden gem. Customers have raved about the amazing taste of their wings and other menu items. The small-sized wings are packed with big flavor, making them a hit among wing lovers.
Not Roscoe Chicken and Waffles, but you won't know it. I was pleasantly surprised by the delicious food. The service was great and the food was hot and fresh. No loitering out from like you get in most places in the hood. Parking was adequate, and the lot was clean. I felt safe at all times. Plan to go back and take a friend.
Asheed A — Google review
A quick dinner, delivered through Uber eats. Everything was delivered hot. I loved the sweet corn nuggets. They taste like hush puppies. The crunchy fried nuggets were sweet and mushy inside. I ordered mania special. It comes with an waffle and three wings. I didn’t like it much. The waffle was soft, sweet and soggy. The wings were just some seasoned wings, fried in oil. Nothing fancy, mostly greasy stuff.

I go n pick up my order n everything is great. I watch TV until order is ready an leave. Great hot wings n waffle…

Was told 15 min on the phone got there in 20 while I watched the guy on the phone burn the waffles and had to wait another 35 min,you can do better buying all the ingredients and making the wings and waffles at home. Prices are to high

This waffle touched my soul and the wings were on point . Also double check with the cashier if your meal comes with a drink. Love it and I definitely plan on coming back. For my wing lovers the wings are small but they still have big flavor so instead get the tenders . Definitely a hidden gem in North Memphis
Tony G — Google review
So to be honest I've actually never eaten here but as an UberEats delivery driver (for less than 2 months) I've already picked up easily 10 orders from this hidden gem. Just yesterday I delivered Waffle Mania to a young man at lunch time. I asked him, as I do with most of my customers who get food from places I was unaware of, if their food was really as amazing as everyone says. The young man who's ordered wings and several other items, pulled a wing out of his to-go box and handed it to me... I've already told my boyfriend that we'll have to order from there ASAP
Alison S — Google review
The wings were good. Crispy honey gold wings; however, they are VERY small. My waffle was burnt, which you could barely taste the cinnamon. My boyfriend said the customer service is nonexistent. Stingy as heck with ranch. Had to ask for it AND they only gave ONE for two orders consisting of 8 wings total. Then again the wings were so small that the 1 ranch probably could have done the job. They don't greet you when you get to the counter and don't bother to see what you need until they feel ready. Food not worth it. Overpriced. Lazy workers. One of the guys had the nerve to yell if it was time for his break an hour before they close....I won't be supporting this business anymore. Makes me mad when black owned businesses show they don't care, then wonder why they get no support. Not worth it.
Nay P — Google review
I’m giving him three stars because when the owner is there, I get top quality service. But I went last night, mind you I called three times the first time, the lady hung up on me and the other two times no answer. When I got there I placed my order, she said it would be 20 minutes, also she explained that it was something wrong with the phones. I waited in my car about 15 minutes then went inside to wait an additional 5 minutes. It took another 15 minutes for my food to get done. A junkie came to the door begging for something to drink, spooked the heck out of me. The young lady taking the orders needs to learn how to be more professional, in a work environment. I presume it’s probably a family member or so. But anyway we got the food & I made it home & we ate & my husband felt sick. He told me all the ranting and raving I do about the food, was wrong because he claimed he was going to throw up. One bad experience can definitely ruin all the other great experiences. I like to support black businesses so I will probably be back in the day time when the owner is there.
