Pigeon Hole is a charming brunch spot located in the serene streets of West Hobart. The cafe prides itself on using locally sourced produce from its own farm, Weston Farm, providing customers with a genuine paddock-to-plate experience. The menu features a variety of options including vegan dishes and is complemented by a selection of local wine, beer, and cider. Guests can also purchase award-winning produce from Weston Farm at the counter.
Love Pigeon Hole! It’s a fantastic spot to enjoy a weekend brunch with family or a relaxed weekday meal solo. While it’s not cheap, the prices feel spot on for the quality. We always leave feeling like we’ve had good value for money. The food is mostly sourced from their own paddocks, and you can truly taste the freshness. My go-to is usually the omelette, but there are plenty of great options, and they regularly update their specials. My wife and I consider it our favourite brunch spot in Hobart.

What an absolutely fantastic dining experience! Pigeon Hole in Hobart, Tasmania exceeded all our expectations😍. We were searching for comfort food that would truly satisfy, and this was precisely the right place 🤩. Every dish we tried was delicious - we found ourselves delighted with each new plate that arrived at our table. The soup was phenomenal, warming and flavorful. The burritos were incredible too! In fact, everything we ordered hit the perfect note of comfort and quality.🥳 Pigeon Hole is known for being a charming café that focuses on locally-sourced ingredients and artisanal food. They have a reputation for excellent coffee, fresh-baked bread, and a seasonal menu that showcases Tasmanian produce. The cozy, intimate atmosphere adds to the welcoming experience.🥰 The café embodies the farm-to-table philosophy that Tasmania is becoming renowned for, with ingredients often coming from their own farm. Their commitment to quality and sustainability is evident in every bite. 😍😍😍😍 If you're in Hobart and looking for a memorable meal that combines comfort with culinary excellence, Pigeon Hole is a must-visit destination.😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨

The best sourdough bread I have eaten so far. Great food and what attracts even more is their farm to table fresh produces. They had the best homemade mixed berry jam too. Great food combined with excellent service it was and Pigeon Hole Hobart will have a special place in my heart 😍💝
Priya R — Google review
Searched for ‘Pigeon Whole’ but navigation took me here, the ‘Pigeon Hole’. The mistake turns out to be a surprise. The vibe is barn like. Started with soup of the day (on that day was green pea an and something) with sour dough. It was absolutely delicious. Can tell the beans are very fresh. Coffee is great, too. Beans are from Villino. Then tried their toasted wrap with scrambled egg and bacon, hands off. I normally hate pickle but that little touch of pickle on the plate really made sense. And I heard some ‘funny’ stories abt their names with ‘hole and whole’ it was quite funny, too.
Shawn Q — Google review
Food is very fresh and tasty. The pear & chocolate muffin wasn't your typical muffin shape, I'd say an 'ugly/uneven shaped one but was devine! Highly recommend Pigeon Hole!!!
Cristian C — Google review
Met up with a friend at Pigeon Hole because some people recommended this place. Very friendly people here and the food was delicious. We got the eggs benedict with bacon and one of the specials. Coffee was okay but not strong enough to my taste.
Sydney T — Google review
We spent three days in Hobart, and our first meal was at Pigeonhole. Initially, we didn't expect much, but by our last day, we found ourselves coming back. The service was fabulous, and the food unlike anything we've had in Melbourne, was unforgettable. We’ll definitely be back the next time we miss this town.

A cozy place with nice atmosphere. Good portion of food, and very nice coffee! The sourdough was a little bit too hard and dry, but overall the meal was tasty, especially recommend the mushroom omelette!

When in Hobart, make sure to visit the unique Machine Laundry Cafe, a popular spot located near Salamanca Square. This quirky cafe is not only known for its creative menu and oversized muffins but also for its functioning laundry service. You can enjoy a delicious breakfast while waiting for your laundry to be done in the vibrant and colorful cafe. It's a great place to relax after exploring Battery Point or shopping on Liverpool Street.
While on holiday we had to do our washing, what an amazing place to do so! The breakfast sandwiches were amazing, the staff were incredibly accommodating and happy, and the family friendly chilled out atmosphere was just the best start to the day. A staff member told my dad that the difference about this place is that the owner runs it on love, which you can definitely feel! Thank you for having us.

What a powerhouse of a cafe. This was a pleasant surprise today. Filled with vibes as it was literally filled with customers when I got her in a Tuesday at around 1pm. Seemed to have a mix of locals and tourists and the meals are excellent. I had mushrooms on toast and realised afterwards that I could downsize to a smaller size which I’ll most likely do in future as the meals are super large which is great if your coming with a huge appetite. However as I’m not a massive eater I look forward to slightly smaller portion so will definitely be back. Only downside is there were not any PowerPoints for my laptop as this was a recommendation from Gemini for somewhere to work on my laptop. So more of a come eat then go somewhere else. However big thumbs up on food and vibes!

Came here for brunch with my friends. Such a nice atmosphere and food was unique and delicious. Daniel served us while we were there and he is fantastic, super nice and helpful. They have the best Chocolate milkshakes. Would recommend

Was a good coffee, seemed to be the busiest cafe at that time so went with it as that usually means they have the best. Coffee was good, vibe seemed great and table service was energetic. Did getba little suprised at the price only to find that they mixed the table bills. ($60 for 2 drinks is a bit exsessive) Glad we checked as it soon got all sorted. Will posably go back again but do check the bill.

Quick stop for breakfast. Food was delicious and a nice range of choices. Service was quick and friendly. Drinks came out quickly, food was hot and we didn't wait long, which was great as we were able to enjoy our day. Very busy but they moved orders quickly and people seemed happy.

The best coffee in Hobart, hands down. A real eclectic vibe with a diverse menu catering for all dietary needs. Who thought to combine a laundromat with a cafe is a genius! We were attended to by Daniel, who was charming, and showed his mental prowess by remembering our whole order, food and drinks - for a table of 8! A lovely vibe, friendly staff and competitive pricing means that this will continue to be a favourite of ours when we return to Hobart in the future. I won’t hesitate to recommend this place to family and friends for their trips to Tassie too.

A laundry mat/cafe which has all the 1970’s Formica furniture I grew up with. Worth going to no matter what time of day! If you are at the Salamanca markets in Hobart stop in its industrial design meets 1970’s clique.

Great staffs especially Daniel from Spain who is working & travelling in Aus! Not only that, the coffee and food are awesome! Must try to the toasties and the pancake!

Born In Brunswick is a trendy cafe located in North Hobart, offering a refreshing break from the bustling crowds of Sydney Road. The cafe boasts sleek Nordic-inspired interiors and serves up serious single-origin coffee alongside an array of exquisite dishes with Asian and international influences.
Beautifully lit room with lots of natural lighting . Lots of seats available but we were lucky we got a table for our party of 8 without a booking. Very interesting menu with Tasmanian produce featured. They octopus and nduja scrambled eggs were amazing, uniquely Tassie! Wished we'd known about this place sooner so we could try more items on the menu. Coffee were good too! They might be short on staff as we waited for coffee for a while.
Carven H — Google review
Had a lovely brunch at Born in Brunswick! The corn & kale fritters were packed with flavor and perfectly balanced, and the French toast was an absolute standout, rich, indulgent, and beautifully plated. The vibe of the place is relaxed and inviting, with a great atmosphere for a slow morning meal. The only thing that threw me off a bit was not being able to tell who was waitressing, there didn’t seem to be a uniform or dress code, so I wasn’t sure who to ask when I needed something, I asked someone for water and was totally mistaken, so embarrassing. Otherwise, a fantastic experience. Will definitely be back!
Jerriemhay M — Google review
Quite a good breakfast place in the area. The atmosphere is perfect for the type of food. Service is quite good too. Fried chicken burger is great. Slaw cuts the heat quite well. Would love an option to add hot chippies. Truffle croque madame is nice too, but I think it’s just truffle oil than real truffle which is fair enough for the price. Tiramisu French toast is quite ok. Toast is crunchy on the outside but still soft. Can’t taste much coffee which is weird since it’s overflowing a bit. Sweetness will vary on your tolerance. Overall, recommended for breakfast!
Erick T — Google review
Lots of seating and they gave us a nice quiet spot to have our lunch. Not an extensive menu, mostly brunch. From our seats we could watch the kitchen prepare our meals. We both enjoyed our lunch and coffee. If you're in the neighbourhood give it a try.
David P — Google review
Friendly and great service, delicious and beautifully plated food, relaxed atmosphere. ordered corn fritters, octopus and iced chocolate. Our meals were delicious and was by far the best iced chocolate I've ever tasted! Would definitely recommend this spot!
Mackenzie M — Google review
Came highly recommended and did not disappoint! A lovely atmosphere and welcoming feel! I ordered the avo on toast with a side of chorizo, which turned out to be completely unnecessary as the avo on toast was amazing on its own! My partner had the octopus scrambled eggs and it was equally as delicious! Was incredibly busy when we arrived, but we got a table after a short wait.

Born in Brunswick – North Hobart Born in Brunswick is a standout café with a relaxed open-plan layout that gives you a glimpse into the bustling kitchen. There are various seating options, including cosy window seats perfect for watching the world go by. The menu is superb, beautifully presented, high-end food without the hefty price tag. And the coffee? Easily rivals the best of the best. A must-visit if you’re in Hobart! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Sonia B — Google review
I recently visited Born in Brunswick with a friend, and while the café had a lovely environment with a modern and cozy ambiance, the service left much to be desired. The staff didn’t seem very welcoming, which slightly dampened the experience. For my meal, I ordered the baked eggs, which I had heard great reviews about. However, I personally found them too tangy for my taste and didn’t enjoy them as much as I had hoped. On the other hand, my friend had the avocado toast, which was well-prepared and delicious. The highlight of my visit was the coffee—it was creamy, rich, and perfectly balanced. Unfortunately, my friend ordered a chai, which she could barely drink. Overall, my experience at Born in Brunswick was mixed. The café itself has a great atmosphere, and the coffee is excellent, but the food was hit or miss, and the service could be friendlier. I might return for the coffee and ambiance, but I’d hope for a more welcoming experience next time.

Room For A Pony is a trendy cafe and bar located in a former petrol station on North Hobart's bustling Elizabeth Street. The industrial-chic interior and wood-fired pizza oven attract crowds day and night. The menu features breakfast options like Chinese omelette, pear compote porridge, sardines on toast, and scrambled tofu with mushrooms. It's also a family-friendly spot with outdoor space for kids to play.
I had the pleasure of celebrating my birthday brunch at Room for a Pony back in April, and it was such a wonderful choice! The outdoor seating area is charming and the perfect spot to enjoy a sunny day. The food was absolutely delicious – fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The mimosas were the perfect addition to our brunch, making the experience even more special. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was relaxed yet vibrant, making it a great place to celebrate any occasion.

Amazing experience! Love the food and the service and Toby is an absolute legend! Their Nachos are the best I've ever had, and all the breakfast options are mouthwatering as well. They are also very catering towards any dietary requirements we have, and even all the gluten free and dairy free options taste delicious. This started off as just a random takeaway coffee place for us but we have now become regulars for breakfast, lunches and dinners throughout the week and especially on the weekends 😅
Nehal A — Google review
Best coffee we have had in Hobart. The owner is very kind and served us a coffee before formal opening hour because of a minor confusion that happened. The menu is very broad and caters to all kinds of foods. Great atmosphere to enjoy breakfast. Portions were HUGE!
Samantha J — Google review
We had brunch on a frosty Sunday morning, even though the outdoor heaters were on, we chose to go inside, where it was warm and toasty with the wood fire blazing. It was busy, in an open and spacious setting, the service was quick, and the food arrived promptly. The chilli omelette and the porridge were delicious. Highly recommended.😋
Mariangela P — Google review
I wasn't feeling that hungry so opted for Fruit Loaf, excellent bread! Eggs Benny for my son and Smashed Avacado for his partner. These were really good size servings. Very tasty too! Warm and cosy inside and the staff were wonderful

My new fave place to stop in the sun, unwind and eat good crunchy colourful healthy food! Staff are always happy and lovely! And non judgmental when I tick up filthy in work clothes and add tonnes of extras to my order 😂 🥑 🍄‍🟫

Beautiful eggs Benedict and super cozy atmosphere. What we didn’t really appreciate was the coffee coming in plastic cups… In an eat there situation one sort of expects a glass or a cup but not a plastic one.
Nerea H — Google review
We dropped into Room for a Pony on our last night in Tasmania and couldn’t have picked a better spot to finish our trip. We ordered a couple of wood-fired pizzas – the Margherita and the Pepperoni – and both were absolutely delicious. Perfectly cooked, full of flavour, and just the right amount to satisfy myself, my wife, and our daughter. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff were genuinely lovely. I was especially impressed by the bar staff – the guy working the bar gave me some great Tassie beer recommendations, and the Spotty Dog beer hit the spot perfectly. My wife really enjoyed her mulled wine too – just what we needed on a cold Tassie night. What really stood out was the friendly service – the guy who served us even gave us a few tips on things to see and do while we’re in town, which we really appreciated. If we were staying longer, we’d absolutely be back. Highly recommend!

They are known for their sweet corn fritter waffle and scrambled chili tofu with garlic betty white toast, which are popular among both vegans and non-vegans.
Love, love, love this place! The food is fabulous, the staff are lovely and the atmosphere is relaxed and comfy. Added bonus is that everything is gluten free and vegetarian! How good is that!! We enjoyed a delicious kimchi and cheese toastie, and a greens bowl washed down with good coffee and a yummy dandelion latte on almond milk. Got a yummy loaf of GF bread to take home too. Highly highly recommended.

Was looking for a cafe with vegetarian and gluten free options to eat. This was a golden find. Everything was delicious. We had roasted tomato soup. ( I think there was beetroot in there, which was not mentioned, not a big fan of beetroot, but it was tasty nevertheless) Had The Madam and The Greens The prana chai was too milky. Didn't expect it that way. But it was delicious so we finished off everything from the plates and cups :) The staff were friendly and attentive Metered Street Parking available.

An absolutely delicious gluten free cafe - you wouldn’t even know it’s entirely gluten free! Very delicious, freshly made food! Very lovely staff. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Tassie, as well as people with allergens.

Straight-Up is centrally located, diagonally across from Shamrock hotel. It serves vegetarian food with several vegan options. The staff are friendly and make you feel at home. They make inhouse a vegan ice cream. The food overall is good. Come early as they close at 230pm. We spent AUD 85 for 2 pax.

This is absolutely the best place to have breakfast or lunch if you need gluten free. I ate here every day when I was visiting Hobart. The staff are friendly and there is a huge selection of gluten free treats, including donuts, pretzels and cheese bread. Get there early when the display case is full.

Yellow Bernard is a charming café located in the heart of Hobart's business district on Collins Street. The café is renowned for its single-origin espresso and delectable pastries, which can be enjoyed indoors by the big windows or at outdoor tables. Yellow Bernard takes pride in its specialty coffee, offering a seasonal blend called Project Yellow and a variety of single-origin espressos that are roasted in-house.
I'm a regular at another coffee place in town so didn't really want to give you guys a five star review (because loyalty 🫡) but I gotta be honest...the coffee you served up took me back to Paris- at considerably less cost than what the airfare would be! Many thanks and highly recommended 🙏
Morgan B — Google review
It’s officially settled—Yellow Bernard brews the best coffee in Hobart! After countless disappointing cups around the city, we finally stumbled upon this little coffee haven, and wow—our taste buds rejoiced! Despite only having piccolo & cappuccino, we have served with the best too.

Perfection. Amongst the best coffees I’ve ever had, came here every day of my trip to Hobart. Don’t miss the cold brew- not usually my thing but it came highly recommended and I see why! Service was impeccable. Wish it were closer to home, I’d continue going everyday!

Excellent coffee. Went there once got a great coffee great service even got some directions for my journey. Following day the gentleman Barista remembered my order which was very impressive. Great stuff
Jimbo J — Google review
Owner is awesome. Coffee is great, front of house staff are rude and obnoxious, and will serve based on preference rather than who is waiting in line. If you have all the time in the world go for it, if you’re on your way to work go next door.
The ( — Google review
Had a recommendation to go here, passed a few other coffee shops on the way but stuck to the course and am glad it paid off. On arrival it was pumping, the two baristas were pushing orders through and it was great coffee. They knew the regulars by name and order, even remembered me after two visits. Although a smaller shop it has bar seating inside with a few tables outside. Keep cups are accepted and they use 5senses beans so definitely on the favorites list.
Dave R — Google review
A perfect coffee... but for takeaway only. There's only room for a few to stand around.

Nestled in a rustic, heritage-listed building at Battery Point, Jackman & McRoss has transformed from a small retailer into a full-service bakery. Co-founders Chris Jackman and Nerida and Justin McRoss personally renovated the 19th-century building in just five weeks. The bakery offers a relaxed atmosphere and an inviting layout where visitors can enjoy homemade pies, pastries, breads made entirely from scratch using the finest local ingredients.
Hobart must-visit for pie lovers! It is is a true gem tucked into the charming streets of Battery Point. The moment you walk in, you're greeted by the aroma of freshly baked pastries and a cabinet full of tempting treats. I tried one of their pies and it was absolutely excellent—flaky, golden pastry with a rich, flavorful filling that hit all the right notes. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the staff are friendly and efficient even during busy hours. Whether you're after a quick bite or a leisurely brunch, this bakery delivers on quality and charm. Highly recommend!

Had the scallop pie here and it was absolutely delicious – rich, fresh and perfectly baked. The coffee was also excellent and paired so well with it. The staff were really thoughtful and kind, even helping us cut the pie into two since we were sharing. Such a nice touch that made the experience even better. We also saw a rainbow while dining here :)
Joanne - — Google review
We from Melbourne, this is my third time visiting, gave 5 stars last two times, sadly I can only give them 4 stars for the pies and coffee this time. We have 4 pies and 4 coffee today. The lamb pie is the best I ever tasted, lot of meat inside. The pepper Wagyu pie doesn't have much meat, too much gravy vs meat make it too salty and over favour. And the two scallop pies are not what I expected, dry inside, not much curry taste, each pie did have 3 small scallops. May be is my unlucky day, one scallop pie had few piece of shell inside, but they did waive the cost of that one. Coffee are average if you compare to Melbourne standard. Service is very good and fast.
Matthew H — Google review
I was told by a French man that the almond croissant here was the best he has had outside of France. So I came in with very high expectations. The croissant was fine but not the best I’ve had. Good enough to get but I wouldn’t go out of my way for it. However, the meat pies were incredible and worth a visit for! Highly recommend.
Lindsay J — Google review
We have eaten here a few times. Excellent pies, sausage rolls, cakes and other bakery goods, as well as amazing meals. Great coffee and drinks in a lovely space. This cafe has been a staple in this area and we love eating here. I can't recommend it enough.
Mark C — Google review
The savoury breakfast dishes our table had were very average. Think dry rosti potato, bruised avo, flat flavours, so I wouldn’t return for brunch or lunch. We grabbed a few pastries to take away and they were amazing, especially the strawberry vanilla slice. So I found the food hit and miss. Service and ambience were decent.
Mai T — Google review
Average experience here, coffee was a disappointment, decaf is a no go and normal was alright. The pies are great but the rosti lacked seasoning and was a bit bland. This place has potential but needs improvement. Also there is a price difference between eat in and take out between .50c -$4 , to eat in is more expensive?

Wow, wow and wow. This Bakery was recommended to us and we are so glad we took the time to find it and enjoy breakfast there this morning. The location is literally out of this world, it's like you have been transported to another moment in time. I enjoyed the beef and red wine pie, my wife had the goats cheese, caramelised onion, sundried tomatoes and spinach Danish. We also indulged in the custard tart. We are not exaggerating when we say this food was absolutely delectable and this is the benchmark for the quality of food! Never had anything close to these flavours and quality.

Located in the heart of Hobart, berta is a vibrant and locally-focused cafe with a smart, multi-room layout. The menu features global cuisine made with ingredients from local and organic Tasmanian producers. Whether it's breakfast or lunch, berta offers a diverse selection of dishes that showcase Mediterranean and Middle Eastern influences. The cafe's owners have a history in the city's dining scene, adding to its appeal as a must-visit spot.
I happened to swing into this place on a whim. Firstly, this has to be the best coffee in Hobart. They somehow aerated it and did some sort of special magic to make my long black taste like a Thursday lunchtime cocktail. So much so that my partner and I had to pause and cheers. I was more annoyed that it was my last coffee of the day—otherwise, I would have had two. I had the tuna salad, and to say that it matched the weather would be an understatement—it was a taste of summer. The tuna was seared perfectly, and the dressing was light without being too oily. The arrangement of the potatoes, radish, and semi-sun-dried tomatoes was just divine. I'd love to give a review on the pasta, but my partner inhaled it. Between mouthfuls, mumbling delicious. The wait staff were friendly and informed me that the menu changes with the seasons. I think this is rare in restaurants, and I’m already looking forward to winter. Another added benefit is that the meals are priced within the same range, making decisions either easier or more challenging—I haven't decided yet Highly recommend!

Visited for breakfast based on a recommendation from Coffee Darling, did not disappoint. Spectacular food, prompt service. Ate the Turkish Eggs and would order again

This is my new favourite spot for breakfast and lunch when visiting Hobart! Staff members are friendly and accommodating at all times. Food is amazing, we came during the weekend and had two of the specials: steak and waffles and also tried the fish toast. Everything was well-served, cooked and seasoned to perfection and absolutely delicious! We came again during the week to enjoy some of the lunch options as well: chicken burger, fries, salad sandwich and gnocchi and they didn’t disappoint! Coffee was great too, specially the salted caramel honeycomb latte. 10/10, will be definitely coming back!

We enjoyed our breakfast at Bertha. Good service and the food came out quickly. Great coffee, actually, the best one I have had in a long time.

One of the best coffees I’ve ever had! And the poached eggs with Polish sausage and homemade chili oil - must have! My partner had Turkish eggs, also very yummy. Sadly, no more photos were taken, food was simply too good 🔥

Don’t go lol!!! This place is nothing like it looks online. The manager was literally bullying a poor trainee in the restaurant, which was so uncomfortable. Just read how she’s responding to negative reviews on here. If you can’t figure out how to run a business ethically, you shouldn’t be in business! The food is nowhere like it was looks online, not sure what happened - maybe the restaurant changed hands?? We asked to send back the salad I got, which was clearly not worth the price, and she bullied us and refused to remove it from the bill despite me not touching it and so we ended up having to pay $70 (!!!) for a couple long blacks and my partner to eat half a chicken sandwich which gave him food poisoning!!! Edit after owner response: I’m not racist hahaha. I called ahead to ask if they could cater to gluten free (coeliac), your trainee told me she was new and in training and wasn’t sure, and went to get you. (You still served me something with gluten after this and if I hadn’t asked to double check, I would have been VERY sick). And we didn’t try to walk out, when we came to speak to your employee and pay we let her know we wanted to leave some feedback, and we waited at the counter for several minutes for you to come over, never even turning to leave. If I can offer you some advice human to human, it is clear that this restaurant is a large weight on your shoulders and if I were your friend, I would tell you to let it go and find a new project that you can start fresh on.

It aims to empower underrepresented Tasmanians in the hospitality industry, fostering skills and community through cafe and kitchen skills programs. The cafe offers delicious dishes made with fresh local flavors and employs people with disabilities, providing a brunch experience with a conscience.
Wow! What an amazing cafe located in Hobart that sells the most amazing pies I’ve ever had! They had scallop pies?! And it was absolutely delicious! We also ordered their sausage rolls and beef pie which tasted so freshly made and heart warming. You definitely need to visit this cafe if you’re in the area!

Nestled at the entrance of the scenic rivulet track, Hamlet Cafe in Hobart is a true delight. The oat latte I had was exceptional, complemented by the warm and inviting atmosphere inside. The staff's friendliness added to the charm of the place. The seasonal and fresh lamb dish with yogurt and pickles was a culinary masterpiece. The coffee? Excellent. Don't miss out on the tempting desserts and treats. On a chilly day, snag a seat by the cozy fireplace for added comfort. Had a nice brunch here at Criterion Street Cafe. The servings were generous and both the eggs benedict and baked bean dishes were done well. Some pieces of the pulled pork were a bit dry by themselves but were fine when having it with the beans. The coffee here was great!

Honestly I think everything else was all good, and it was busy, i understand people get stressed out. But this new so called training person was just rude! Think in my shoes, you are a cafe/brunch place, no matter how busy or frustrated you are, you can’t keep cutting people off, especially after I told you we are in a bit of rush, and that was why we came down to order, but she kept pushing us back to upstairs the moment she saw us coming down, even tho we said “but we are already here and we are in a bit of rush”. She ignored us and told us to wait upstairs and she’ll come right after. It’s not about what she said, it’s how she said it, and you may think I’m being dramatic, BUT AGAIN, you are a CAFE, it needs to be a welcoming environment for customers, if that’s so hard to understand, maybe she shouldn’t be working as a servicing staff.
Milo Q — Google review
Very close to the city and some really good brunch options available. I tried the Lamb Sandwich and it was delicious. Hopefully I will try more next time. They are a 2-story restaurant/cafe and the second floor (first floor in Australia) is where you can sit, work, and/or meet people. Limited electric outlets so don’t rely on the power just in case. Staff is good and they help you in deciding which food to order.
Prasad F — Google review
First breakfast in hobart was a nice experience. The staff are very lovely and welcoming. Food was all freshly made with care. We enjoyed the experience very much. I asked for no bacon on my french toast, the really nice lady added avocado for replacement without even asking. Such a lovely gesture, no cafe has ever done that for me before. Prices are very reasonable too. Highly recommend it 👍👍

Great coffee, nice staff and good environment. Food was quite oil saturated though... Was able to squeeze the dough and drop oil out. I won't ding a star though, because coffee was top tier 💪

I got the brioche French toast and I was super jazzed as my final meal in Hobart. Once I got below the first layer of the meal it was dry and definitely needed some maple syrup to round out the dish. Once I got my meal, I never saw my server again until I flag them down so I could pay. The place wasn't even busy for a Saturday morning. Not even "how is it going" when they were one table over taking orders. Overall just a miss of a spot with a lot of potential.

Inconsistent !! Frankly the coffee was great at one visit and average on another one, and also not quite strong enough according to my taste. Somewhere Coffee Bar, located in Midtown Hobart, is renowned for its exacting standards and passion for coffee. The owner, Brian Lam, meticulously oversees every aspect of the cafe's offerings, from the drinkware to sourcing single origin beans from global roasteries. The menu is refreshingly simple and occasionally features coffee-tasting events.
I absolutely enjoyed my coffee experience at this small cafe. The owner is very knowledgeable and was very patient in explaining how each coffee bean tastes and the origin of the bean. I ordered the batch brew (syphon brew), it was very satisfying watching the coffee being brewed in front of me. The coffee pairs well with a sea salt & leatherwood honey croissant.

Wowsers - felt like I stepped straight into a modern coffee shop in Japan! I love this place! 😍 The coffee cannot be faulted - tastes superb and prepared with attention. Stunning service. Don't skip the basque cheese cake - arguably the best in Australia, not sweet at all and just burnt enough. If you give this place a miss you only have yourself to blame. Run here, don't walk!

Villino Coffee located in Criterion Street , This little street is like coffee central :) There is a bit going on and there are other coffee shops/ cafes in this street / laneway. The first thing that jumps out to me is …. The music 😃 How many countless times I’ve encountered loud music through a cheap sound system and the play list that is like …. really? Yep I’m a musician sometimes 😂 You won’t have that problem here, and the play list is eclectic, this way everyone is included :) The coffee is serious and these people aren’t fooling around . Exceptional coffee and exceptional service , gentle respectful staff they have their own unique personality and vibe here and it stands out 🙌 It’s not pretentious it’s professional and proper:) The muffin was incredible made on site🌈 It’s a different culture, it’s the real deal coffee culture 10/10🕺

Enjoyed the chai, the savoury scroll, the morning bun which was deliciously caramelised but not too much. Textures are on point 😍 and level of sweetness is just right. Also love the cute setup they have the "pigeon hole" to pick up your coffee outside 😁

Tried a couple of bakeries in Hobart on my visit to find the best almond croissant, and must say that Pigeon Whole Bakers takes the crown! The almond flavour was fragrant with a healthy spread of frangipane. The croissant also had a nice rise and was buttery and caramelised. I would have liked the croissant to have been slightly less dense (more layers) but not too much more to fault!
Annie T — Google review
I noticed reviews in Australia tend to be inflated (not sure if it's a lack of discernment of what is actually good food) so I was wary of the high praise but this is good!! I got the savoury scroll, croissant and an iced white. The savoury scroll was delicious, and the croissant stayed crunchy an hour later. They served the ice drink with a huge ice block which helped the coffee retain its taste without being too diluted quickly. Definitely visit here if you are in the city area. The other bakes looked good too, like the sandwich and bagels. I declare this worthy of its rating.

Have been here many times over many years and it never disappoints. Sweet and savoury pastries are top tier. On my latest visit I tried a Vegemite and Rackette little morsel that was so good I went back for a second. Lovely staff make this perfect start to a morning in Hobart.

Coffee shop
The Stagg Midtown is a cozy restaurant in Kathmandu that offers a diverse selection of Nepalese cuisine influenced by Indian, Tibetan, and Chinese flavors. Whether you're seeking a romantic evening with street views or a lively gathering with friends, the intimate dining space caters to both. The menu boasts an array of vegetable and meat dishes such as fish, lamb, and goat curry served with garlic roti and almond-infused rice.
A reliable stop for well made coffee. The folks here know what it takes to make good coffee and they don't let you down. Open every day of the week, don't pass by the Stagg.

Always went here for their amazing toasties and the best egg and bacon in hobart. But unfortunately now with change of ownership they've changed their whole menu! Still great staff and great coffee, but now we can't get our much loved toasties and not to mention their banana bread. 🥹
Daniel C — Google review
I unfortunately had a very bad service experience. I ordered 2 coffees (I was given to-go cups even though I was sitting down, but I didn't mind that). I sat down at the table which had the previous customers' dishes, but when I asked the staff if they could clear the table they told me "we aren't doing that for takeaway customers". Furthermore, the bench had cigarette butts and a dirty needle in between the slats which is quite frankly disgusting. I understand that the benches on the street may technically belong to the city, but this cafe's clients are regularly using the tables and leaving their dishes on it - Stagg has a duty to keep these tables and benches clean. Not impressed. The only upside is that the coffee was excellent, which is why I'm giving 2 stars.
Simon V — Google review
Best toasties I've ever had. We got a variety of toasties with coffee for breakfast and it was phenomenal. There were a lot of seats outdoors and it was comfy-- perfect for enjoying winter in Hobart while watching the city bustle. Coffee was just as delicious and the service was great.

My favourite place for a coffee in the morning before work. You can order ahead with the Skip app. The coffee is awesome and their toasted sandwiches are to die for. The staff are incredibly friendly and will go out of their way to make sure you're comfortable. If there's ever a cafe that deserves their 5-star rating, this is it.

Best toasties in Hobart, period. Super friendly authentic staff, great coffee. Could never say enough good things about the Stagg. The banana bread is rad too.

This was the only cafe open that opened the earliest on a Sunday morning in Hobart. That’s a big thumbs up. This is a small and quaint cafe in the heart of the CBD. The coffee was great and the granola was excellent. This was a good find. Will be back on my next visit. Love the high benches with conveniently placed power points to work on your laptop plus there is a USB hub! I love the small details.

Zimmah Coffee Roasters is a well-known and highly respected coffee roaster in Hobart, Tasmania. The industrial unit which houses the roastery, office, and training room for Zimmah is quirky and appealing with stacks of magazines and books used as pillars. The coffee beans which are sold here are of excellent quality, and the shop offers to swap them if the purchaser does not like them. It is definitely worth a visit for anyone who appreciates great coffee!
Good vibes here on the coffee, roasted here in Hobart Tatoo Nun , Devil in the deep … just a few names you will be drinking and it won’t disappoint 😃 Ok so the best ever toasted sandwich on proper bread , it’s very tasty and simple :) My big thing about any coffee shop is the ambience which includes volume levels of noise:) Some coffee shops sound like a thumping disco others play relaxing chill music BUT ! You have to get the volume right… don’t turn it up , most of us want a little sanctuary of peace b4 we head out from our world of escape and comfort , all sorted ,they got it right with the Ambience 🙏❤️ coffee also by the way is extremely good, and I must mention the staff here are fantastic people and very accommodating ❤️🌈

Great coffee, Outstanding Ambience, and really friendly baristas. The pastry options are simple but satisfyingly delicious. My favourite is personally the Friand. Ambience and location makes it a great place for work/study. Close to Elizabeth College. Also one of the few places with free Wifi that isn’t Banjo’s.

Set back from the road at 219B Murray Street, it’s worth strolling down the driveway to the end to find this extraordinary coffee haven - Zimmah Coffee. This brew is hard to beat, it’s simply delicious. There’s usually a bit of a queue but you won’t have to wait long in this cosy industrial style venue strewn with high tables, books and Chesterfields. Just go in thru the red door (there’s also parking available).

The best coffee we had in Hobart! Me and my husband are from Sydney. We came to Tassie with high expectations about the coffee, this place has overcome them all! The customers service and the shop’s vibe make such a difference. Thanks for the experience guys :)

Visitors can expect a new look and feel at the cafe. Imago offers some of the best coffee in Hobart, making it a must-visit spot for coffee enthusiasts. Guests have raved about their breakfast options such as Satay Chicken and Pork Belly Miso Soup.
We visited 4 days in a row (out of our 5 day holiday), and every time the coffee was excellent (the best we’ve had at a cafe for a long time!). Thank you Laura (the barista). The food was delicious. Shakshuka, perfect eggs, mushrooms so good, kale cooked perfectly. The chocolate and raspberry croissant got great reviews from our son. So glad we discovered this cafe while on holiday. We didn’t get the name of the other waitress; she was lovely and attentive. Food and coffee came out quickly. Great feel there. Please do visit!

A lovely quiet Cafe, with very prompt service. Some unusual/ less common items on the menu provides adventurous brunch options such as the miso soup dish, and coconut rice as an alternative to bread. Great coffee. Small interior, so good for couples or small groups to dine. Or takeaway. Lovely spot!

A quiet and cosy café that serves excellent coffee and has really quick service. The menu features some interesting and less typical options, great if you like to try something new. The space is on the smaller side, ideal for couples or small groups, or for a takeaway stop. A lovely little find!

Creative fusion foods with delicious flavors!! Strongly recommend their Shakshouka ( choice of eggplant or lamb sausage )😋 The atmosphere and the decor were amazing. The service was great and the coffee art was nice too 👍🏻

As I strolled up to Imago Cafe and Bakery, a little pup sitting by the door caught my eye—a cute welcome before I even spotted the coffee shop behind it. I stepped inside and, half-joking, asked if I could take the dog home for free. The lovely owner and barista girls just smiled and said no, sadly for me. So, I settled for the next best thing: their coffee and a bite. I ordered a mocha and a gluten-free orange friand. Both were spot-on—rich, balanced, and downright tasty. The place itself is cozy, with just the right music setting a relaxed vibe. The staff was super friendly and warm, making it all the better. It was a great stop—perfect for a coffee break, a date, or just hanging out. Highly recommend giving it a try.

Imago Café feels like stepping into a different world the moment you walk in 🌿☕ It’s a cute little garden-style spot small but full of charm 🌸 We were lucky 🍀 to get a table right away as a group had just left. The coffee was lovely ☕️, “The food was okay, but nothing really stood out.”🍽️. It was pretty packed that day . a group of four were squeezed at a tiny table 😬, and they didn’t look too happy. Staff were doing their best but seemed a bit short-handed 🏃‍♀️💨 Overall, we had a pleasant visit and didn’t have to wait long for our food or drinks ✨

Brunch at Erda is a delightful experience in a cozy 40-seat neighborhood cafe with an inviting aesthetic. The food offers a fine dining experience without the need to dress up or break the bank. The menu includes unique dishes like Gallette complete and Chasu Soba, made to perfection with attention to detail. The airy and bright space is perfect for enjoying dishes like Honey butter toast and Omurice with grilled beef.
This dish was an absolute comfort delight. The omurice came with perfectly seasoned tomato rice wrapped in a soft, creamy omelette that melted in the mouth. The highlight was the rich demi-glace sauce—deep, flavorful, and not overly salty—which brought the whole dish together. The beef slices were tender and generously portioned, adding a hearty balance to the smooth egg and rice. Everything was beautifully plated and satisfying without being too heavy. 🍽️ A well-executed fusion of Western-style sauce and Japanese comfort food—definitely a must-try if you’re visiting Erda. Would order again!

Came here specifically to try the brioche toast after seeing it online! It really didn’t disappoint! It’s so delicious sweet and decadent! It’s also a huge serving so definitely made to share as the whole thing can become a bit too sweet! Coffee is alright here, but not the best.

Went in at 8am and told the staff we were in a rush. They assured us the food will come out in 10 minutes and it really did. Thank you!! 🥰 Came here specially for Blue Sky. But the food looks so good too, so we got the crepe and omu rice. Would’ve gotten the honey butter toast too if we weren’t in a rush. Everything’s yummy and pretty 💯 Oh and they have drinks called Blue Sky and Dark Clouds. I think it’s very creative and tempted me to open my own café so I can sell pretty drinks too.

The buckwheat crepe with Wursthaus ham was probably the best thing I have eaten in 2025. The balance of flavours, great texture and a lovely hint of Gruyere cheese and truffle. Was surprisingly busy for a cafe on a Monday mid-morning however the staff coped effortlessly and with a smile. Will definitely go back for the crepe.

Fantastic, we’re in Hobart for the weekend and attended twice as we loved the food so much. Had the Omurice with the beef, I could drink that Demi glacé straight! And we loved the honey butter toast, perfect crunch from the honey and the blueberry compote with mascarpone was a perfect topper yummm. Will definitely be back next time we are in Hobart

Excellent vibes and beautiful service. Food was unbelievably good - tomato omurice with sautéed greens - 9.5/10, rice was full of umami flavour covered by a soft egg. The omurice sauce was rich and peppery. - chashu soba - 9.5/10, fresh, flavourful, appetizing, perfect balance between ingredients For drinks we got the blue sky and dark cloud which were not only delicious but so aesthetic.

We saw the reviews and thought it was worth a visit. Coffee was nice, however after waiting 45min for food we discovered they never put our order through, so we went to the counter and pointed to food in the front cabinet to go with our coffees when we paid (which really should have been free due to the stuff up and waiting for nothing), and our food order wasn't put through again even though we pointed to it. The male gentleman with glasses was polite, but asleep on the job doesn't cut it, sorry. Really a very, very disappointing experience.

Busy, sophisticated and popular cafe with speedy service. Excellent coffee. Very tasty ham and cheese croissant. Cool lighting and perfect indoor air temperature for the cold climate down here. I’ll definitely return to this cafe because of their service. Sadly, not all credit cards are accepted. Don’t forget about their pastries, cakes and slices too !!

We were on a search for the best croissants in Hobart and I think we have a top contender! Daci & Daci are up there and they also have the best coffee I’ve had so far during my visit. There is an indoor section and an outdoor platform for dining. You can also take away. The selection of other baked goods is amazing. The staff are so friendly and helpful, the seating area buzzing with good vibes and the food just great. Highly recommended.

The most amazing cakes/desserts. If anything the staff were just a bit proper and stuffy for our liking, but the service was very prompt. It's quite expensive for cake, but delicious and presented beautifully. A great place for a special treat.

The pork and fennel sausage roll is honestly so good. The flavors are spot on, the pastry is golden and flaky, and you can tell a lot of care went into making it. On top of that, the way it’s presented makes it feel extra special – it looks just as good as it tastes.

Thank you for making my trip to Hobart perfect! 🥳 I chose this café because it had great reviews and I completely agree with them! 👍 This was both my first and last visit before heading back to Melbourne 🫠 The brunch was delicious! I tried the classic "Eggs Your Way" menu, which allows you to choose how you want your eggs cooked, and I also ordered the salmon bagel, which was fantastic! ✨ What truly stands out about this café is not just the food, but also the friendly staff and excellent service 👍 If you're looking for a good café that isn’t too far from the harbor, I highly recommend this one! 😁

I had such a wonderful experience at Hobart Coffee Roasters over the weekend. I went in for breakfast on Saturday and loved it so much I came back again on Sunday. The food is fantastic, the service is impeccable, and I can’t recommend this cafe more highly. What really stood out to me was how accommodating Chef Joel was with my dietary requirements. Coming from Melbourne, it was such a relief to find a place that not only serves amazing food but also goes the extra mile to make sure everyone is looked after. It’s rare to find a cafe that delivers on all fronts—great coffee, delicious food, warm service, and a chef who genuinely cares. Refined pastry place atop a hill ! Slight attitude - with phrases like “we don’t do that here” heard. Not the end of the world, actually very good pastry and fine coffee! Check this place out - careful of the hill !
Craig M — Google review
Overall experience has been very inconsistent. The first time I visited, the perfect golden croissant was beautifully layered, airy on the inside, and had that perfect buttery crunch, really impressive. But on other visits, the croissant was noticeably different: dry, lacking the light, flaky texture you’d expect, and at times overbaked or even a bit burnt. It almost felt like a completely different product each time. Service has also been hit and miss. 6th June, they missed my coffee order out of a group of five, and the lady barista didn’t even acknowledge it or apologise. That left a pretty poor impression. That said, a few of the trainees were lovely and clearly passionate. Very disappointed but hoping there will be more consistency in both the bake and service, it could easily become a favourite spot. Hope to see it improve!

Happened to be staying just around the corner from this little pastry shop. Showed up just as they were putting out fresh, warm croissants - delicious! The pear and almond cruffin was also excellent - nicely balanced flavor and not too sweet. The donuts have good, chewy texture but were too sugary for my liking. I'd give the croissants 5 stars if you get them fresh at bake time, 4 stars otherwise.

Nice looking place. Good position to pick-up the walk through traffic. Served a couple of customers before me, even through I ordered my coffee first, gave regulars preference service. Got stung with an 80c upgrade for a Mocha. Lady behind the counter didn't tell me until I pointed out the price increase. Nothing on the menu or the wall board that highlights this extra cost increase. Lost a potential regular for an hidden 80c cost.

Housed in an old teddy bear shop on Collins Street, the cafe exudes a laid-back atmosphere with wooden furniture and a variety of coffee roasts to choose from.
Lovely cafe with excellent food and friendly service. The coffee was great too. I ordered the summer veg on toast with eggs and it was absolutely delicious! The fried crispy salty capers on there were so so good. I will remember that dish for a long time it was that good.

I recently visited the Coffee Shop, and it was an absolute delight! From the moment I walked in, the cozy atmosphere and warm service set the tone for an exceptional experience. The highlight of my visit was the sandwich with caramelized onions and cheese – a combination I had never tried before. Let me tell you, it was nothing short of extraordinary! The sweetness of the onions paired perfectly with the richness of the melted cheese, creating a flavor explosion that I’m still thinking about days later. It’s the kind of sandwich that you find yourself craving the moment you leave. And then there was the coffee – magnificent! Rich, smooth, and brewed to perfection, it complemented the meal beautifully. Whether you’re a coffee aficionado or just need a good cup to brighten your day, this is the place to be. Sunbear Coffer has earned a spot on my list of must-visit cafes. I’ll definitely be returning, if only for that sandwich. If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and stop by. You won’t regret it!

Farzi Hobart is a beloved cafe and restaurant situated in Salamanca on Hobart's waterfront in Battery Point. It is known for its contemporary menu, specialty coffee, and exceptional 5-course chef's menu offered on Friday and Saturday nights. The cafe boasts a cozy ambiance with friendly staff, delicious coffees like Almond Mocha, Taro, and Matcha Lattes.
Awesome coffee with great brekkie. Nice ambience, great service. Fantastic customer service here. The cafe looks so refreshing. One of the great place in Hobart for breakfast. Keep up the great work.

I visited Farzi and did the bottomless brunch, the food came out quite fast, and it was delicious. Portion sizes may be a tad small depending on your appetite, and a bit pricey for me. But over all the service was amazing, the drinks were also delicious. The staff there made us feel so welcome and were very attentive to their customers! Will definitely be visiting again! Thanks so much for having us

The menu has so many delicious options that it was hard to choose what to order. The Turkish eggs were amazing, and the Taro pancakes were a beautiful and tasty mix of colors and flavors. The service was excellent, the staff were super friendly and welcoming. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more dishes from the menu!

The artistry that is Farzi’s delicious food, has never and will never disappoint. I have never loved a French toast option more! The hardest part about going to Farzi, is choosing which delicious option to have! The drinks are refreshingly delicious and the staff are the friendliest around. Do yourself a favour and book in, you will be happily nourished.

We sat in the glass area which was beautiful and warm on a winters day. Staff very attentive and happy to find answers to any questions we had. The food was delicious, perfect for a brunch or light lunch.
Meredith H — Google review
Food was average. The fritters were a lil dry and the pistachio latte tasted like milk, would’ve like lil more pistachioy - nutty flavour. Overall, neutral experience.
Vidhi N — Google review
I really wanted to like this place. I had stalked the instagram and was super excited to try it out! The food is presented beautifully, but the taste is a bit bland. We had the Turkish Eggs and French Toast which had the potential to be delicious, but they were both was flavourless. Attention to detail was lacking as well... the eggs we needed a spoon for which we had to ask for as they didn't bring one... the table and chair both rocked significantly which meant we had to move tables and we were placed at a table for 4 when there was only 2 of us. It seemed like the attention was given to the overall look of the place but lacked sophistication as it portrays. It is also expensive for what it is. The service is friendly though.

The place offers delicious food and great coffee, with the only suggestion being to add a platter option for those who prefer less bread. Visitors praise the amazing sandwiches and friendly service, recommending the Morty Sandwich and highlighting the incredible coffee. It's described as having a cool setup and attentive service, making it worth supporting this new establishment.
Westside Laundry was our absolute favourite stop during our trip to Hobart. The food was delicious, and we highly recommend trying their special. We were lucky enough to get the southern fried steak, which was our favourite yet. A special shoutout to the staff, who made each visit so enjoyable. We loved the banter, atmosphere, and the delicious food.

If In Hobart, this place IS A MUST. The food was AMAZING! Very generous portions and great quality - I personally recommend the croquettes, even though everything else on that menu was to die for. The cherry on top would be the most kind and friendly staff + a great atmosphere. I highly recommend this place.

Amazing atmosphere! The sandwiches were so flavoursome and the drinks were excellent! Seating was a little tight, but even on crutches I was able to manouver through the space easily enough. We were staying nearby and discovered this little gem. Cool art and love the fact they honoured the original laundromat throughout! Great food and coffee and enjoyed a cocktail pre dinner. What we loved most was the service and friendliness of the staff.

From the outside, this spot might not catch your eye – but don’t be fooled. Behind the simple façade is one of Hobart’s true hidden gems. Their sandwiches are hands-down some of the best you’ll find in the city. We went for the veggie options and loved every bite, with the egg sandwich quickly becoming our favourite – so much flavour and such great value for the price. A special mention goes to the waitress, who always greets us with infectious energy and her signature funny salutes – she makes every visit feel extra welcoming. This place might look unassuming, but once you step inside, you’ll discover a local treasure.

The Westside Laundry cafe may be small in size, but it more than makes up for it with character and charm. The unique décor creates a cosy and inviting atmosphere, making it an enjoyable place to spend time. The Swartz is exceptionally juicy and full of flavour, the coffee is brewed to perfection, and the service provided by the owner is outstanding, warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. This is a place worth returning to, and I look forward to coming back soon!

I buy Beans from here regularly and the manager who is new (Asian I believe) was insanely clicky and rude and would not snap out of it while I asked about getting Filter beans back in. I've had the absolute best service here prior to this occasion and never dealt with her or seen her before. Super snarky and clicky over such a simple question that left my blood boiling as she blamed me for buying the wrong one last time which I didn't even care about! I've been in the industry longer than she's been alive at this point. Bring back any of the past staff from the last few years. Absolutely loved them all. I'm so easy to deal with unless you are bitchy and clicky. Looked like she had no sleep honestly and rage monster. Full mainland vibes and she would suit a place like Sydney with this snappy energy. Regret talking to her

Stronger tasting but good coffee. Usually have to queue and wait a bit for it to be made. Cool but industrial vibe - not comfortable or cosy and has harsh lighting. I prefer takeaway or sitting at their outdoor table.

Harbour Lights Cafe is a popular Italian spot located in a cool 1800s building right on the picturesque waterfront of Hobart. It's known as a breakfast meeting point and offers traditional scallop pie for lunch and authentic Italian cuisine for dinner. The cafe provides a welcoming atmosphere with plenty of seating options, including sidewalk seats. It's also praised for its central location, beautiful view, and proximity to Salamanca Markets.
This spot is truly a hidden treasure. At first glance, it may not seem like much, but the food and service are exceptional. It’s no surprise that it’s always buzzing with breakfast patrons—the quality of both the dishes and service is outstanding. During our four-night stay in Hobart, we found ourselves enjoying breakfast and dinner here on three consecutive days. The pancakes were delightful, and the fruit salad paired with yogurt and honey was equally good. We also loved the hearty big breakfast. Awesome coffee too. For dinner, we indulged in the spaghetti al vongole, veal cotoletta, spaghetti marinara, and Italian meatballs—each dish bursting with authentic Italian flavor. It was a fantastic experience! A special thanks to Grace, who took care of us during breakfast, and young Valeria, who served us at dinner. Both were incredibly kind, friendly, and welcoming. 🌸🩷

Superb experience all around! We went pretty late at night after a long day of traveling, but who I presume to be the owner was very welcoming and kind. He was running the front and the back of the restaurant by himself. Immediately, the atmosphere was so cozy and warm. Ans we had our orders taken promptly. I had the carbonara and my mate had the salmon. The carbonara was one of the best, if not the best, carbonara I've ever had. Not to mention, the presentation of every dish was so clean and delicious looking. This is a great choice for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

This laid-back spot offers an all-day brunch menu that caters to every craving, from classic poached eggs on toast to indulgent Elvis waffles topped with banana and peanut butter semifreddo. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, enhanced by the friendly staff who embody the warmth of Tasmanian hospitality.
Immediately upon seeing the menu I couldn't go past the fried chicken benny (a combination that I haven't seen often and should probably be banned for invalidating other breakfast choices). My partner ordered the Dandy rosti with bacon. Both were excellent, as were the coffees. Highly recommend.

Friendly and warm service, cute vibes, and the most refreshingly generous portions! Rosti was passable, a bit dense. The Dutch pancake was not great; the inside of the pancake was too custard-like and dense instead of fluffy. Coffee was average too.

Hidden gem in the lane! I regret not orderimg the same mushroom sandwich asmy husband. I had a taste and it was delicious! Very clean taste, simple and healthy. Nestled in the heart of West Hobart, Smolt Kitchen is a delightful modern café that captures the essence of Tasmanian cuisine. With its inviting and casual atmosphere, this eatery is perfect for families and groups alike, offering a spacious dining area both indoors and outdoors. The menu boasts an array of breakfast and brunch options, including standout dishes like eggs Benedict with smoked salmon and nostalgic porridge that evokes childhood memories. Coffee lovers will appreciate their robust brews alongside refreshing apple juice.
Funky local establishment offering all day dining The in-house breakfast porridge took me back to my childhood. The eggs Benedict with smoked salmon is generous, tasty and well presented. The coffee is strong and the apple juice tall. Service is friendly and tables well spaced. It's very popular on weekends so it may pay to book if you are are larger group.
Harry S — Google review
Context: Sunday morning brunch for two at 8 a.m. Smolt offers a unique atmosphere for a Hobart brunch spot, with upbeat disco music and a vibrant contrast of bright colours against clean white backdrops. The space feels eye-catching and inviting. I ordered the Steak Sandwich, one of the Sunday specials. It was flavoursome and filling, and the provided cutlery made it easier to tackle the generous portion of steak. For my drink, I had a large soy dirty chai. While the milk was smooth, the coffee itself tasted a little weak and I found myself ordering a second. On a future visit, I’d likely request an extra shot, as I hadn’t clarified how many were included in the large size. My dining companion ordered the Smashed Avocado with a well-done egg, which was prepared perfectly to their request. The staff were friendly and attentive, with our server showing genuine enthusiasm for our selections and ensuring we were well looked after throughout. I’d be happy to return to enjoy that sandwich again — thank you, Smolt.

I was pretty excited to dine here, I liked the aesthetic of the venue and the options for food. But goddamn was the service bad, I arrived, no service, I walked to the desk thinking maybe I need to order there and they told me the full menu is “table service” so I grabbed a menu and sat down. When I was ready to order I looked over at the counter with the waiter and waitress, I kept looking, I turned my chair to face them and kept looking. After about 30 mins finally someone came to take my order. AND IT WASNT JUST ME! The guy sitting next to me ordered a steak sandwich. Waited and it never came, turned out his order just got lost in the ether. How did I remember it better than the staff? And it’s not like this is a big place either, it’s literally one room and some outdoor seating. I’ve worked in hospo so I have some sympathy but this was pretty bad service.

What a hidden gem, this cafe has made a fabulous addition to the area. In the short time they have been operating, they have turned this cafe into a thriving little hub. The smell of freshly brewed coffee and bacon cooking made it impossible to walk past without stopping in. We stopped in for breakfast and oh my goodness, options galore. The breakfast was huuuge. The staff were so busy but had a smile on their dial, even when impatient customers (only 2) were cranky and quite honestly rude to the staff. I felt these staff members did an amazing job with the amount of people waiting. All food was hot and delicious and the coffee went down a treat. We will be definitely stopping in again and again. For those customers who are impatient, my tip is to pack your manners and have a little understanding when it is busy. I would highly recommend this little gem. Trudy

We went there for a late breakfast and everything's amazing. I love how the menu is kind of Asian inspired and they made it so good. Me and my friend love the dandan noodles which is a perfect balance of the creamy nutty flavors that cut by a tangy sour pickled cabbage and the chili oil also very aromatic. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, one of them even offer to take a photo for us even when they're quite busy. In the Hanging Garden (ITHG) is a unique partly outdoor venue that takes up nearly an entire block with multiple access points including one on Murray Street in the Hobart CBD. Within you find multiple tiered area with alfresco dining, standing room tables with high glass ceiling, a multitude of cascading and hanging plants, heaters and a fair amount of space for those visiting one of the eateries (Mexican, Deli, Pizzeria, Korean, Slow Comfort Food) or bars that are setup within the Hanging Gardens. We had dinner here one night during a recent stay in Hobart, found our Calabrese pizza that was quite good. Bar and wine served up from the downstairs bar was fine as well. Took seating upstairs near the central heating and really enjoyed the vibes of ITHG. This is a really fun place to meet up with friends afterwork or on weekends and a neat place for visitors to try while in the city. Would love to visit again next time in Hobart.

Review: The Hanging Garden, Hobart The Hanging Garden offers an incredible experience that starts with an unassuming entrance on Murray Street but quickly expands into a vast, semi-open area as you walk further in. The space is stunningly designed, with a welcoming atmosphere and a variety of menus offering both food and drinks. I visited on a Sunday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised to see many families, including children, creating a diverse and friendly environment. It’s clear that this spot is perfect for all kinds of visitors, adding to its appeal. One of the highlights is the expansive communal seating area, which can accommodate hundreds of people comfortably. There’s even a stage structure, suggesting this venue is well-prepared for live events and performances. Without a doubt, The Hanging Garden is one of the best-planned spaces for events in the heart of Hobart. Highly recommended!

If you’re looking for a place to kill the vibe and be told off like you’re in detention instead of out with your mates, this is the bar for you. We came in to enjoy a few drinks, spend some money, and have a good time. Apparently, the crime we committed was laughing too loudly. Not shouting, not causing a scene, just laughing. Isn’t that the whole point of going out with friends? To relax and enjoy yourself? Instead, we got scolded by staff like naughty schoolkids. Nothing kills a good night quicker than being policed for having fun. The atmosphere went from buzzing to awkward in seconds. Drinks were average, service was colder than the beer, and the staff clearly care more about keeping the place funeral-quiet than letting people enjoy themselves.

WHAT AN AMAZING PLACE! In The Hanging Garden is one of the best concepts for an entertainment venue in existence. It is so Tasmania in the sense of the gardens yet adding a Melbourne like Laneway vibe. Adding 4 different types of delicious food vendors with drinks to match makes it the perfect location for an afternoon chill out session or a nice meal with food with friends or the family. A great location and a must when in Hobart!

Staple Coffee is a stylish and compact family-run cafe in Hobart, with a Japanese-inspired aesthetic despite its Greek ownership. The cafe is known for serving excellent coffee and hot chocolate in various flavors like jaffa orange, mint, chai, chilli or white choc. Visitors praise the friendly staff and cozy ambiance of the cafe, making it a great spot to enjoy a cup of coffee or grab a quick takeaway.
Tucked away in a charming alleyway, this hidden gem of a coffee shop in Hobart is truly a delightful discovery. As a discerning coffee aficionado, finding a spot that impresses me is no easy feat, but this place exceeded all expectations. The moment I laid eyes on the impressive coffee equipment, I had a feeling this would be something special. And I was right. The coffee here is hands down the best takeaway brew I've had in a long while. The use of quality alternative milks is a refreshing touch that sets this place apart. Apart from the fantastic coffee, the welcoming and friendly atmosphere created by Jeannie and Phil made my experience even more enjoyable. Their warmth and hospitality added an extra layer of charm to the visit, making me feel right at home. And let's not forget the adorable doggos that frequent the place - a true testament to the inviting ambiance. While waiting for my coffee, I couldn't help but admire the vibrant graffiti murals that adorned the walls, adding a quirky and artistic touch to the overall vibe of the place. In conclusion, this coffee shop has earned its title as the "best coffee in Hobart" in my books. A definite must-visit for any coffee enthusiast looking for a top-notch brew served with a side of warmth and friendliness. I'll definitely be back for more - thank you, Jeannie and Phil, for creating such a special spot. 😍 Alex from Perth

Luckily, we still made it to this hidden gem tucked away in an alley, and it was totally worth it 😎 We ordered a long black and a flat white — the beans had the perfect balance of fruity and nutty notes 🤩 Also tried a bagel from Pigeon Whole Bakers, and the combo of ingredients was just perfect 😍 If you’re living in the city, this spot is definitely worth a visit😚

Absolutely slammed? Coffee is ALWAYS perfect; staff always warm and professional; snacks are delectable and different from the usual offerings - try the Rocky Road, or the protein bites - all actually hand made. There are so many reasons Staple is my all time favourite - one I recommend to my entire interstate and international family and friends. Plus Phil is always up for a game of cricket in the lane!

The kind of place I’d eat breakfast at every single day if I could - and I did, every day of my Hobart holiday. Nourishing, delicious dishes using the best local, in-season produce, served in a beautiful, light-filled and welcoming space. I can’t wait to return and tick off the rest of the menu!

This is a beautiful, bright, and elegant café with a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. The staff is exceptionally friendly, leaving a lasting impression. The coffee is absolutely delicious, smooth, and aromatic, making every sip a delight. However, while the coffee left me thoroughly impressed, the food didn’t quite suit my taste, so I didn’t manage to finish everything on my plate. Despite this, the excellent coffee and service would definitely bring me back for another visit, hoping to have a better food experience next time.

This is one of the greatest coffee shops I have had the pleasure of patronizing, and I have swilled coffee from the snobbiest cafe bars in Tokyo to my coffee-proud hometown of Portland, OR. They dial in their machine perfectly and are masterful at the whole process. Even more importantly, this place is just lovely to go into. Duncan, the owner-operator, is warm, charming, and helpful. I went every single day (often twice) while on a trip with my partner’s family and we chatted them up and had such a congenial time. They gave us recommendations about things to try while visiting and they seemed to have wonderful rapport with everyone that came through their doors. Also, I would be remiss if I did not mention the vegan, kraut and pumpkin sandwich which, I said on my first travel-famished visit, was “one of the peak achievements in my sandwich eating career.” It did not stop delivering the next three times I had it either. Overall, this place was simply wonderful and I wish I lived next to it.

Our family went there on the last day of the year and the cafe was packed. Regardless of how busy they were, the service was fast, and the staff are very welcoming and attentive. Jerry, Min, and staff were very welcoming and provided exceptional service. The meals 😋 come in generous portions and are delicious. They make the best 👌 coffee in Hobart. The baked eggs, eggs Benedict, and the pulled pork brisket were delicious. The plating was inviting, and the food not only looked appetising but tasted yummy. The portion sizes are generous. They have a new chef, and you can taste the love in the food. The teapots come in different colours, with aromatic tea leaves making a tasty brew. They were accommodating to our needs and made us feel special. We love going for brunch 💓New to the menu are the scrumptious prawns and fried rice. Highly recommended!! Visiting from out of town and happened to stumble across this great little cafe on google maps. The food, coffee and service were exceptional, nothing was too much trouble for adding or changing some food options. I went here for brunch on a weekday since I've heard a lot of good reviews about this place. Their coffee was really good! And the waffle and chicken did not disappoint!! Serving was also quite huge, can be shared by two people. Service was great. There's a wall with a lot of posters about local events and programs which was a nice touch ✨

Iced latte was great!, I asked for a vegan version of the tempura burger and it was ok. My partner ordered the chicken waffle and said it was the best one he has had so far. Staff were nice and friendly. Portions are just perfect for breakfast/brunch. They might be a little small if you are super hungry. There’s 2 sweet vegan options and 2 savoury! Overall experience was good! 😊

Date/time of visit: 17 Sep 2023 @ 11:00am A wonderful breakfast. I'm very fussy with my breakfasts, not want anything rich or heavy or filling and Waffle On Cafe delivered a beautiful, refreshing tastey meal. The waffles were fresh and soft, and the runny egg yolk flowed over the waffle pattern filling up the recesses wonderfully. This was one of my favourite breakfasts. Service was good. It didn't feel like the meal took too long to be served considering the freshness of the waffles. Price to quality trade off was great. Will happily return.

Had an amazing experience here at the Waffle On Cafe! Loved every minute! From the service from the staff, to the location and venue itself and to the amazing food! Can highly recommend eating breakfast here! The breakfast waffles are absolutely delicious! Light and fluffy and filled with flavour! The coffee also would have to be one of the best coffees I have had in Hobart! It is also very reasonable priced and can’t fault any aspect of the Waffle On Cafe! It is easily a 5/5 stars from me! :))

Oooh boy! I know my waffles are at least I thought I did. Heavens to BETSY the lemon meringue waffles (with an extra waffle) was literally to die for! Coffee was solid, silky and the correct proportion of foam. Service was fast and the cafe was clean and presentable. We ordered maple syrup on the side (didn’t need it. I ended up tipping the maple into my coffee) My wife and I will be back and eager to try some more of the menu options. 10/10

When we were looking for a brunch spot in Hobart, we came across Waffle On Cafe. We got there a few minutes before they opened and there was already a big group waiting. We got the traditional brussels waffle with vanilla ice cream, chantilly cream and syrup + flat whites. The waffle was fluffy and had a great texture. Paired with the accoutrements, it wasn't too sweet and overall a great brunch sweet treat. All the waffles have gluten-free options, which is great if you have food specificities. The coffee was also great as they used beans from Botero coffee roasters. The restaurant itself seems to be popular. So we recommend to come a little early to enjoy their waffles.

It’s a good mix of savoury on a waffle instead of the usual bread. They ran out of salmon for the day. I’m sure it would look beautiful and delicious on the plate. Definitely a go to for big breakfast. When u get coffee ask them for a mug , cos u would really wanna enjoy the breakfast .

Friendly baristas. AWESOME awesome espresso. Had a single espresso with the Kenyan SO beans. Absolutely brilliant! Then ordered a piccolo latte with the same beans, as good as the espresso 👍🏻👍🏻 Will visit again when I come back to Hobart❣️

If you’re looking for a place to get chill with a good coffee, this place is for you. I ordered latte & batch brew, the latte was good but i love batch brew more!

A tiny hole in the wall that makes one great thing - coffee! Super friendly staff and great customer service; combined with really great coffee. Criterion Street is a great food and shopping escape from the boring sameness of the mall and Ecru is the perfect compliment to that experience - good different. Perfect spot to catch some morning sun and matching brew.

Had a latte for $4.50 at a table in the shade. 10/10 coffee and lovely friendly barista. Bit chilly sitting outside even at 11am (18c but “feels like” 10c 🥶) so walked a few steps up the street to big sister Villino to have my second cup (a Magic for $5.20) in the sun. 👍

Very chic little hole in the wall coffee shop. Great service and even better coffee. I asked for nice and hot and that’s what I got. 👍
Stephen D — Google review
Small little coffee shop in the main part of Hobart selling pretty good coffee using Villlino beans which is just a few doors up. Reasonable prices, quick service.

Cafe
Ozus Coffee, located in the historic Battery Point, offers a cozy atmosphere with a fireplace and a covered outdoor area. The cafe serves great coffee and a nourishing menu of breakfast bagels, toasties, and soups. It's known for being dog-friendly with a courtyard at the rear. Visitors have praised its unpretentious vibe, friendly atmosphere, and delicious food at reasonable prices.
We were exploring Battery Point on Good Friday and Ozus was one of the few cafes open. Very happy we stumbled upon them though. Such a cute little homely place, complete with fireplace for the chilly mornings. Nice courtyard out the back too, but unfortunately we had to get takeaway as the place was full. The coffee was great but the food was the star of the show. One of the best bagels I've ever had and the brisket toastie was incredible too. Great service too, even on a busy morning when they were booked out and people waiting the staff were friendly and happy. Ended up going back again the next day for another coffee and could sit inside as it was a lot quieter.
Maree R — Google review
Great cafe with service to match. Located in a beautiful area surrounded by historic houses it has some cost indoor tables and a window bench and some outdoor seating. The interior is a jumble of eclectic decoration and a riot of posters. It’s hipster in a good way. The coffee is excellent and the food is good and generous.
G M — Google review
Since I was staying in Battery Point, it only took a short walk to get to OZUS Coffee—super convenient and cozy. I’ve become quite familiar with the neighborhood, and the area is full of charming photo spots, especially with the early morning or afternoon sunlight casting a warm glow over the historic buildings. Tucked on a quiet corner, OZUS is a small yet vibrant specialty café. The space is warm and welcoming—whether you’re seated by the window inside or enjoying the breeze in their outdoor courtyard, it’s a perfect place to relax. 📸 One more thing: the streets around OZUS are incredibly photogenic. Whether you’re into casual street photography or just want a beautiful morning walk, this neighborhood delivers that peaceful, cinematic feel.

Do yourself a favour and drop by if you’re in the area - this might just be the best meal I’ve had in Hobart. We ordered the beef brisket toastie which was very good, and chorizo scramble completely blew our minds! Great service as well :)

Little coffee shop at first sight, but then you walk through to discover a cozy outside area so we sat there. I chose the Waffle and goodness it was wonderful, I love the aesthetic the premises gives. I am definitely coming back. 😄

I love the backyard so much. There are several heaters to ensure the warmth in the winter and some colourful blankets provided which is a kind of decoration. I ordered Reuben and flat white. I like the taste of pickles in the sandwich.

Cute cafe with amazing food, and lovely service. Baked eggs were superb, hot honey halloumi sandwich was also something quite special.

Great coffee from here, very small and petite with limited pastries and not a broad menu but is wholesome, would go back

Lazy Brunch is a popular cafe and restaurant located in Salamanca on Hobart's waterfront. It offers an all-day brunch menu, specialty coffee, and a contemporary food and drink selection. On Friday and Saturday nights, the cafe also serves an exceptional 5-course chef's menu with a variety of drinks. Customers rave about the Siam Burger, Lazy Fried Chicken, Iced Fizzy Yuzu, pandan cake with coconut cream, and waffles.
Lazy Brunch is the ideal place to kick back and enjoy a leisurely morning. From the moment I walked in, I loved the laid-back vibe and cozy decor, with warm lighting and natural wood accents. Their menu is fantastic, offering a mix of classic breakfast dishes and creative twists. I tried their avocado toast topped with poached eggs – it was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The iced matcha latte was equally impressive, with just the right balance of creaminess and sweetness. The service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive, adding to the overall relaxed atmosphere. Whether you’re meeting friends or treating yourself to a quiet morning, Lazy Brunch is a must-visit. Rating: ★★★★★

Walked in to a very fresh clean feeling environment. Was lovely and light and a nice environment to be in. Service was super fast! Stepped out of our comfort zone and tried the black sesame latte. Omg loved it! Let's face it, there's no coffee in it, but boy it was tasty! Got a take away at the end so I could have more! Regular latte was great too! Beautiful coffee art! We had the mashed egg potato croissant and egg omelette with croissant. Both absolutely delicious! Thank you for a lovely experience!

Absolutely love this place! The coffee is incredible, and the decor adds such a cozy, inviting vibe. The staff are genuinely friendly and welcoming — it makes a huge difference. I recently moved from Sydney, and this is hands down the best café I’ve found so far. Great coffee, great atmosphere, and even better people!
Sangye — Google review
Really great meal we had here. It was a lovely and quiet spot with a good menu that ranged from your normal breakfast items to more unique meals. The interior designing was absolutely beautiful and the staff were very welcoming. My only downside would be the time it took to get our food, nothing crazy but it did feel like it was approaching the 30 minute mark and there was only one other couple in the cafe. Definitely recommend going, the food is very delicious and it was easy to get to.
Jordon P — Google review
My favourite place to go to for breakfast/brunch! I always get the mashed egg potato croissant and a coffee. The food tastes amazing every single time I go. The service is incredible! Friendly, professional and genuinely caring, they always go above and beyond 🫶🏼

What a great find in the middle of Hobart for Breky & light lunch. Wonderful atmosphere, gorgeous friendly people and very clean with fantastic service. It was a pleasure to frequent this small business 3 days in a row for breakfast while staying in Hobart. The food was simply delicious and coffee on point. Would definitely highly recommend this family business if you are visiting Hobart.

Terrific Brunch . Great service and the food is excellent . Had the Lazy Breakfast at $31 and it was worth it. The picture tells the story . So many flavours followed by great coffee . Highly recommend.

The place is beautiful and the food is sooo yummy. We got the Bulgogi Bibimbap, although it was good, I just wish it was in a bigger bowl so it can be easier to mix it all together.

Nestled in the heart of Hobart, Coffee Darling is a quaint cafe known for its delightful coffee offerings. The cozy boutique cafe offers limited seating and a grab-and-go atmosphere. Visitors praise the rich and smooth coffee with no bitterness or acidity, as well as the warm industrial ambiance and friendly service. Guests appreciate the attention to detail, such as perfectly steeped tea and well-presented drinks.
Descent coffee, good ambiance. I like the “cafe in a garage” aspect, that reminds me of Melbourne. Good space to chat with friends. Has a wood heater running when it’s cold. Service has been impeccable each time I have visited over the last few years. It’s also open at 6am on Saturdays so great for early risers who like to fit some admin work before a parkrun. Parking is not a problem early in the day but past 8:30am you may have to park a few blocks away as it’s in the middle of town.

The coffee was great as expected, but the caramel slice totally blew me away so good! im really happy I ended my trip with a visit to this café.🤍 The staff was friendly, and the vibe was great!

Visiting from Victoria, little Slothy did a quick Google search for a cozy coffee spot near our hotel—and voilà! Coffee Darling popped up like a warm hug in caffeine form. It was exactly what he was after: excellent coffee, ridiculously friendly staff with top-tier service, and a gorgeous atmosphere made even dreamier by a crackling wood fire keeping things toasty and tranquil. Absolutely recommend. 100% worth a visit. Thanks, Coffee Darling—you made one tiny sloth very happy 🦥💛

Enjoyed a well presented, great tasting flat white at this small tucked away coffee shop. It's a no frills venue with an industrial atmosphere where the focus is on the coffee. There were a few sweet treats in the cabinet that looked appealing, especially the lemon slices

One of my first coffees ever, got recommended a great coffee and got a great coffee! Genuinely the happiest guy at the counter giving his absolute best at making people’s days! Left the place with the biggest smile ever! Don’t have much to compare to, though I think the price is very fair! Would absolutely recommend! 10/10

Favourite Hot Drinks in Hobart. The best vibes and staff. I got a tea on Saturday 22nd July, Coffee shops usually don’t give two hoots about tea, but Coffee Darling steeped the bag perfectly, removed the bag and served it and perfect drinking temp. A delight, thank you that man.

Happy Larry Deli is a must-visit spot for sandwich enthusiasts. Located near the Argyle Street car park, it offers a variety of delectable sandwiches like the Prosciutto and Reuben, served on focaccia or sourdough bread. The deli also boasts an array of drinks, smoothies, and pastries such as Biscoff and Cookies Croissants that are highly recommended.
We had the beef brisket Sanga and the Dubai chocolate croissant. The sanga was so delicious, the meat tender and flavour perfect. The croissant was impressive, not too rich and beautifully crunchy knafeh filling. Yum!! Well done happy Larry.

My friend and I were so impressed with the gentleman who served us today. He was wearing a vintage-style hat and a black top, and had such a cheerful, welcoming presence. He instantly made us feel comfortable. Honestly, it was the best service I’ve ever experienced! His warmth, friendliness, and happy energy really made our visit special. We ordered the tuna melt, which was absolutely delicious. A huge portion and full of flavour but what truly stood out was the exceptional service. I didn’t catch his name, but he deserves to be recognised for making our experience so memorable.

Sandwiches had fresh ingredients, were well balanced with delicious sauces, and had generous servings. Everything you could ask for in a sandwich! Fries were mediocre so wouldn’t recommend, but definitely come for the sandwiches and friendly service.
Lily C — Google review
I'm not usually one to leave reviews, and I really do love this place. The crossoints are amazing and the drinks too. However, I keep feeling let down by the sandwiches; the filling is good, but the non-toasted bread is so so dense, super thick and hard to chew, and I ordered two, both of the same quality of bread. If the bread were slightly different, the sandwiches would be perfect. Overall, great place but would love to see better bread!!

Honest experience here - went to Happy Larry for the first time , after hearing all the hype. And experience was .. interesting . We ordered Matcha, which was good! , and I ordered a chicken vodka sandwich and that was good. However . My friend also ordered for herself a Mortedella Sandwhich, which is expected to be chicken and beef mix. Of course . And we received it and my friend ate same and realised it wasn’t. She went and told the guy at the counter and he said it was Italian ham. And she came back to me . So I went and explained the situation. And how the menu is not stated CLEARLY at all with it being ham. I told him due to Religion and Allergies we can’t eat that and it’s not stated at all on the menu that it’s ham. And he was not apologetic at all towards us and it is a big deal for us and I believe anyone who would have an allergie or is not allowed in the persons religion. He did exchange it for a Scnitty. But he was very iffy and didn’t seem to want to accept the situation for how it was. He was a nice guy but at that point we felt quite upset with how we responded to it. Other food was good , atmosphere was very nice , But that one thing really ruined it for us . So just keep aware if you choose to have the mortadella and you don’t know it is ham , (if you aren’t allowed that)

Absolutely the best sandwiches I’ve had in a very long time. We had the prosciutto and Reuben sandwiches and while they did not have their usual focaccia we had them w the sourdough which was super delish. Friendly staff, drinks and food came out quickly. Adequate indoor and outdoor seating with heating. Good selections of drinks, smoothies and in between. Looking forward to coming back here again.

I love this place. I get my morning coffee here and often a snack ir lunch. 😋 their mortadella croissant is delicious. BUT.... yesterday I had one of the October specials the vodka chicken. 🤪 oh was it was better than good. I would say outstanding. Thereisnt a worry about the vodka, as it's only just there but it lent a sweetness to the sauce. It was very filling and I didn't need dinner. Absolutely delicious 😋 😍

This vibrant spot has quickly become a favorite among both locals and visitors, offering an inviting atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. I was so excited to see a cafe open here again, loved what I saw as I looked around. Decided on a chicken burger & it was delicious! Had a ham & cheese toastie today, also great. I will definitely be back as it looks like a great little cafe & in a convenient spot. *Thanks for your reply Belinda, glad to hear there was an actual problem with the Bain Marie! Had lunch there again today!

I pop in here regularly for coffee. Always perfect. I grab lunch a couple of times per week and there is always plenty of variety and the food is always fresh. Plenty of parking and close to a lot of services, highly recommended!
Angela A — Google review
The coffee there is weak and the milk is burnt. The beans tasted like they were used to make 5 coffees before mine, and the barista yelled at my friend when his coffee was ready (more aggressive than maccas yelling out numbers). I paid $6.80 for a “large” almond milk flat white. Not ideal.
