We were searching for comfort food that would truly satisfy, and this was precisely the right place 🤩. Every dish we tried was delicious - we found ourselves delighted with each new plate that arrived at our table. The soup was phenomenal, warming and flavorful. The burritos were incredible too! The best sourdough bread I have eaten so far. Great food and what attracts even more is their farm to table fresh produces. They had the best homemade mixed berry jam too. Great food combined with excellent service it was and Pigeon Hole Hobart will have a special place in my heart 😍💝

Searched for ‘Pigeon Whole’ but navigation took me here, the ‘Pigeon Hole’. The mistake turns out to be a surprise. The vibe is barn like. Started with soup of the day (on that day was green pea an and something) with sour dough. It was absolutely delicious. Can tell the beans are very fresh. Coffee is great, too. Beans are from Villino. Then tried their toasted wrap with scrambled egg and bacon, hands off. I normally hate pickle but that little touch of pickle on the plate really made sense. And I heard some ‘funny’ stories abt their names with ‘hole and whole’ it was quite funny, too.

Food is very fresh and tasty. The pear & chocolate muffin wasn't your typical muffin shape, I'd say an 'ugly/uneven shaped one but was devine! Highly recommend Pigeon Hole!!!

Met up with a friend at Pigeon Hole because some people recommended this place. Very friendly people here and the food was delicious. We got the eggs benedict with bacon and one of the specials. Coffee was okay but not strong enough to my taste.

We spent three days in Hobart, and our first meal was at Pigeonhole. Initially, we didn't expect much, but by our last day, we found ourselves coming back. The service was fabulous, and the food unlike anything we've had in Melbourne, was unforgettable. We’ll definitely be back the next time we miss this town.

A cozy place with nice atmosphere. Good portion of food, and very nice coffee! The sourdough was a little bit too hard and dry, but overall the meal was tasty, especially recommend the mushroom omelette!

What a powerhouse of a cafe. This was a pleasant surprise today. Filled with vibes as it was literally filled with customers when I got her in a Tuesday at around 1pm. Seemed to have a mix of locals and tourists and the meals are excellent. I had mushrooms on toast and realised afterwards that I could downsize to a smaller size which I’ll most likely do in future as the meals are super large which is great if your coming with a huge appetite. However as I’m not a massive eater I look forward to slightly smaller portion so will definitely be back. Only downside is there were not any PowerPoints for my laptop as this was a recommendation from Gemini for somewhere to work on my laptop. So more of a come eat then go somewhere else. However big thumbs up on food and vibes!

Came here for brunch with my friends. Such a nice atmosphere and food was unique and delicious. Daniel served us while we were there and he is fantastic, super nice and helpful. They have the best Chocolate milkshakes. Would recommend

Was a good coffee, seemed to be the busiest cafe at that time so went with it as that usually means they have the best. Coffee was good, vibe seemed great and table service was energetic. Did getba little suprised at the price only to find that they mixed the table bills. ($60 for 2 drinks is a bit exsessive) Glad we checked as it soon got all sorted. Will posably go back again but do check the bill.

Quick stop for breakfast. Food was delicious and a nice range of choices. Service was quick and friendly. Drinks came out quickly, food was hot and we didn't wait long, which was great as we were able to enjoy our day. Very busy but they moved orders quickly and people seemed happy.

The best coffee in Hobart, hands down. A real eclectic vibe with a diverse menu catering for all dietary needs. Who thought to combine a laundromat with a cafe is a genius! We were attended to by Daniel, who was charming, and showed his mental prowess by remembering our whole order, food and drinks - for a table of 8! A lovely vibe, friendly staff and competitive pricing means that this will continue to be a favourite of ours when we return to Hobart in the future. I won’t hesitate to recommend this place to family and friends for their trips to Tassie too.

A laundry mat/cafe which has all the 1970’s Formica furniture I grew up with. Worth going to no matter what time of day! If you are at the Salamanca markets in Hobart stop in its industrial design meets 1970’s clique.

Great staffs especially Daniel from Spain who is working & travelling in Aus! Not only that, the coffee and food are awesome! Must try to the toasties and the pancake!

Had a lovely brunch at Born in Brunswick! The corn & kale fritters were packed with flavor and perfectly balanced, and the French toast was an absolute standout, rich, indulgent, and beautifully plated. The vibe of the place is relaxed and inviting, with a great atmosphere for a slow morning meal. The only thing that threw me off a bit was not being able to tell who was waitressing, there didn’t seem to be a uniform or dress code, so I wasn’t sure who to ask when I needed something, I asked someone for water and was totally mistaken, so embarrassing. Otherwise, a fantastic experience. Will definitely be back!

Quite a good breakfast place in the area. The atmosphere is perfect for the type of food. Service is quite good too. Fried chicken burger is great. Slaw cuts the heat quite well. Would love an option to add hot chippies. Truffle croque madame is nice too, but I think it’s just truffle oil than real truffle which is fair enough for the price. Tiramisu French toast is quite ok. Toast is crunchy on the outside but still soft. Can’t taste much coffee which is weird since it’s overflowing a bit. Sweetness will vary on your tolerance. Overall, recommended for breakfast!

Lots of seating and they gave us a nice quiet spot to have our lunch. Not an extensive menu, mostly brunch. From our seats we could watch the kitchen prepare our meals. We both enjoyed our lunch and coffee. If you're in the neighbourhood give it a try.

Friendly and great service, delicious and beautifully plated food, relaxed atmosphere. ordered corn fritters, octopus and iced chocolate. Our meals were delicious and was by far the best iced chocolate I've ever tasted! Would definitely recommend this spot!

Came highly recommended and did not disappoint! A lovely atmosphere and welcoming feel! I ordered the avo on toast with a side of chorizo, which turned out to be completely unnecessary as the avo on toast was amazing on its own! I recently visited Born in Brunswick with a friend, and while the café had a lovely environment with a modern and cozy ambiance, the service left much to be desired. The staff didn’t seem very welcoming, which slightly dampened the experience. For my meal, I ordered the baked eggs, which I had heard great reviews about. However, I personally found them too tangy for my taste and didn’t enjoy them as much as I had hoped. On the other hand, my friend had the avocado toast, which was well-prepared and delicious. The highlight of my visit was the coffee—it was creamy, rich, and perfectly balanced. Unfortunately, my friend ordered a chai, which she could barely drink. Overall, my experience at Born in Brunswick was mixed. The café itself has a great atmosphere, and the coffee is excellent, but the food was hit or miss, and the service could be friendlier. I might return for the coffee and ambiance, but I’d hope for a more welcoming experience next time.

Amazing experience! Love the food and the service and Toby is an absolute legend! Their Nachos are the best I've ever had, and all the breakfast options are mouthwatering as well. They are also very catering towards any dietary requirements we have, and even all the gluten free and dairy free options taste delicious. This started off as just a random takeaway coffee place for us but we have now become regulars for breakfast, lunches and dinners throughout the week and especially on the weekends 😅

Best coffee we have had in Hobart. The owner is very kind and served us a coffee before formal opening hour because of a minor confusion that happened. The menu is very broad and caters to all kinds of foods. Great atmosphere to enjoy breakfast. Portions were HUGE!

We had brunch on a frosty Sunday morning, even though the outdoor heaters were on, we chose to go inside, where it was warm and toasty with the wood fire blazing. It was busy, in an open and spacious setting, the service was quick, and the food arrived promptly. The chilli omelette and the porridge were delicious. Highly recommended.😋

I wasn't feeling that hungry so opted for Fruit Loaf, excellent bread! Eggs Benny for my son and Smashed Avacado for his partner. These were really good size servings. Very tasty too! Warm and cosy inside and the staff were wonderful

Beautiful eggs Benedict and super cozy atmosphere. What we didn’t really appreciate was the coffee coming in plastic cups… In an eat there situation one sort of expects a glass or a cup but not a plastic one.

We dropped into Room for a Pony on our last night in Tasmania and couldn’t have picked a better spot to finish our trip. We ordered a couple of wood-fired pizzas – the Margherita and the Pepperoni – and both were absolutely delicious. Perfectly cooked, full of flavour, and just the right amount to satisfy myself, my wife, and our daughter. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff were genuinely lovely. I was especially impressed by the bar staff – the guy working the bar gave me some great Tassie beer recommendations, and the Spotty Dog beer hit the spot perfectly. My wife really enjoyed her mulled wine too – just what we needed on a cold Tassie night. What really stood out was the friendly service – the guy who served us even gave us a few tips on things to see and do while we’re in town, which we really appreciated. If we were staying longer, we’d absolutely be back. Highly recommend!

Was looking for a cafe with vegetarian and gluten free options to eat. This was a golden find. Everything was delicious. We had roasted tomato soup. ( I think there was beetroot in there, which was not mentioned, not a big fan of beetroot, but it was tasty nevertheless) Had The Madam and The Greens The prana chai was too milky. Didn't expect it that way. But it was delicious so we finished off everything from the plates and cups :) The staff were friendly and attentive Metered Street Parking available.

An absolutely delicious gluten free cafe - you wouldn’t even know it’s entirely gluten free! Very delicious, freshly made food! Very lovely staff. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Tassie, as well as people with allergens.

Straight-Up is centrally located, diagonally across from Shamrock hotel. It serves vegetarian food with several vegan options. The staff are friendly and make you feel at home. They make inhouse a vegan ice cream. The food overall is good. Come early as they close at 230pm. We spent AUD 85 for 2 pax.

Everything was gluten free… amazing! I had carrot cake, which was absolutely delicious, and a tasty smoothie. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Though small, the cafe was cozy with a variety of seating options.

This is absolutely the best place to have breakfast or lunch if you need gluten free. I ate here every day when I was visiting Hobart. The staff are friendly and there is a huge selection of gluten free treats, including donuts, pretzels and cheese bread. Get there early when the display case is full.

Loved this little gem! Was beyond happy to find a totally gluten free cafe in Hobart and the food was just so good! The cornbread is amazing and will be heading back for another pretzel and donut for sure.

What a delightful little cafe! They make their own almond milk and everything on their menu is gluten free, including breads and pastries. So impressed! The corn bread is delicious and so is the brekkie Burger. Not sure how they do the silky egg, but it tastes fantastic!

It’s officially settled—Yellow Bernard brews the best coffee in Hobart! After countless disappointing cups around the city, we finally stumbled upon this little coffee haven, and wow—our taste buds rejoiced! Despite only having piccolo & cappuccino, we have served with the best too.

Perfection. Amongst the best coffees I’ve ever had, came here every day of my trip to Hobart. Don’t miss the cold brew- not usually my thing but it came highly recommended and I see why! Service was impeccable. Wish it were closer to home, I’d continue going everyday!

Owner is awesome. Coffee is great, front of house staff are rude and obnoxious, and will serve based on preference rather than who is waiting in line. If you have all the time in the world go for it, if you’re on your way to work go next door.

Had a recommendation to go here, passed a few other coffee shops on the way but stuck to the course and am glad it paid off. On arrival it was pumping, the two baristas were pushing orders through and it was great coffee. They knew the regulars by name and order, even remembered me after two visits. Although a smaller shop it has bar seating inside with a few tables outside. Keep cups are accepted and they use 5senses beans so definitely on the favorites list.

Had the scallop pie here and it was absolutely delicious – rich, fresh and perfectly baked. The coffee was also excellent and paired so well with it. The staff were really thoughtful and kind, even helping us cut the pie into two since we were sharing. Such a nice touch that made the experience even better. We also saw a rainbow while dining here :)

We from Melbourne, this is my third time visiting, gave 5 stars last two times, sadly I can only give them 4 stars for the pies and coffee this time. We have 4 pies and 4 coffee today. The lamb pie is the best I ever tasted, lot of meat inside. The pepper Wagyu pie doesn't have much meat, too much gravy vs meat make it too salty and over favour. And the two scallop pies are not what I expected, dry inside, not much curry taste, each pie did have 3 small scallops. May be is my unlucky day, one scallop pie had few piece of shell inside, but they did waive the cost of that one. Coffee are average if you compare to Melbourne standard. Service is very good and fast.

I was told by a French man that the almond croissant here was the best he has had outside of France. So I came in with very high expectations. The croissant was fine but not the best I’ve had. Good enough to get but I wouldn’t go out of my way for it. However, the meat pies were incredible and worth a visit for! Highly recommend.

We have eaten here a few times. Excellent pies, sausage rolls, cakes and other bakery goods, as well as amazing meals. Great coffee and drinks in a lovely space. This cafe has been a staple in this area and we love eating here. I can't recommend it enough.

The savoury breakfast dishes our table had were very average. Think dry rosti potato, bruised avo, flat flavours, so I wouldn’t return for brunch or lunch. We grabbed a few pastries to take away and they were amazing, especially the strawberry vanilla slice. So I found the food hit and miss. Service and ambience were decent.

Average experience here, coffee was a disappointment, decaf is a no go and normal was alright. The pies are great but the rosti lacked seasoning and was a bit bland. This place has potential but needs improvement. Also there is a price difference between eat in and take out between .50c -$4 , to eat in is more expensive?

Wow, wow and wow. This Bakery was recommended to us and we are so glad we took the time to find it and enjoy breakfast there this morning. The location is literally out of this world, it's like you have been transported to another moment in time. I enjoyed the beef and red wine pie, my wife had the goats cheese, caramelised onion, sundried tomatoes and spinach Danish. We also indulged in the custard tart. We are not exaggerating when we say this food was absolutely delectable and this is the benchmark for the quality of food! Never had anything close to these flavours and quality.

This is my new favourite spot for breakfast and lunch when visiting Hobart! Staff members are friendly and accommodating at all times. Food is amazing, we came during the weekend and had two of the specials: steak and waffles and also tried the fish toast. Everything was well-served, cooked and seasoned to perfection and absolutely delicious! We came again during the week to enjoy some of the lunch options as well: chicken burger, fries, salad sandwich and gnocchi and they didn’t disappoint! Coffee was great too, specially the salted caramel honeycomb latte. 10/10, will be definitely coming back!

Don’t go lol!!! This place is nothing like it looks online. The manager was literally bullying a poor trainee in the restaurant, which was so uncomfortable. Just read how she’s responding to negative reviews on here. If you can’t figure out how to run a business ethically, you shouldn’t be in business! The food is nowhere like it was looks online, not sure what happened - maybe the restaurant changed hands?? We asked to send back the salad I got, which was clearly not worth the price, and she bullied us and refused to remove it from the bill despite me not touching it and so we ended up having to pay $70 (!!!) for a couple long blacks and my partner to eat half a chicken sandwich which gave him food poisoning!!! Edit after owner response: I’m not racist hahaha. I called ahead to ask if they could cater to gluten free (coeliac), your trainee told me she was new and in training and wasn’t sure, and went to get you. (You still served me something with gluten after this and if I hadn’t asked to double check, I would have been VERY sick). And we didn’t try to walk out, when we came to speak to your employee and pay we let her know we wanted to leave some feedback, and we waited at the counter for several minutes for you to come over, never even turning to leave. If I can offer you some advice human to human, it is clear that this restaurant is a large weight on your shoulders and if I were your friend, I would tell you to let it go and find a new project that you can start fresh on.

Had lunch and coffee here, overall we had a great experience! The food was delicious done simple and well! Full of flavour and tasted fresh! The coffees and juices where 10/10! Iced coffees where perfect and the mocha was delicious! The juice shot also was great and full of flavour and tasted nice and fresh! The venue is gorgeous and provides a beautiful spot for lunch and coffee! Overall I can’t really complain about anything other than the staff where friendly but where a little bit odd but they still where nice! Overall I have to give Berta a solid 5/5 stars and i will be returning here again soon!

Whenever I'm in Hobart, I make sure to stop in for lunch at Hamlet Cafe. The staff are welcoming and clearly proud of their establishment. The food is always seasonal and fresh. This visit, I had the lamb with yogurt and pickles 🤌🏼. The coffee is excellent, and the desserts and treats are good too. If you visit on a cold winter day, try to get a seat next to the fire 🥶

Stumbled across this excellent cafe and social enterprise. The food is exceptional! I've eaten a delicious delicate omelette filled with ricotta and greens, simply melt in the mouth. Today i tried the delicious green tomatoes with straciatelli soft cheese, anchovies and herbs. Good coffee, friendly service and a fireplace for the winter. Happy days!

Coffee was the best we had in Hobart whilst visiting from Sydney. Rich, strong flavour without making us jittery. You definitely won't get milky, weak tasting coffee here! Atmosphere is also excellent, the place is big and open with a fireplace and big windows to look outside.

If you love a good matcha do not recommend ordering it here. It tasted like water and didn’t even have matcha taste on it. I’ve posted the photo for ref :) Food and service was good though :)

Beautiful place, with great service and delicious food! We had the hot chocolate and the chicken waffle and hash brown - and woah, it really made our day and trip back home more memorable. Long queue on weekend mornings so do be prepared. Space is big though.

Decent brunch place with a variety of food options. Duck udon was really good, baked bean eggs was good but lacking a bit of beans or spice and would have been nicer if there were two slices of sourdough.

Had a nice brunch here at Criterion Street Cafe. The servings were generous and both the eggs benedict and baked bean dishes were done well. Some pieces of the pulled pork were a bit dry by themselves but were fine when having it with the beans. The coffee here was great!

Food was well-flavoured and delicious! The waffle with pulled pork was tasty, and well balanced with spices. The waffle complemented the eggs and pork well! We also ordered a lamb sandwich that was great. Service was great too.

Visiting from outta town and needed a good morning pick me up. Decided on Criterion after a quick check on Google. My kinda casual vibe spot with with a warm and welcoming crew. Good long black and no frills scramble, halloumi and bacon. Lovely to spend the mid morning writing down my thoughts and to do for school and work. Thanks guys.

What a beautiful spot to stop for lunch. Fantastic and delicious options and very allergy aware. Nothing was any trouble and very happy to adapt the menu to suit those with allergies. Would definitely return when next in Hobart. The staff were absolutely delightful. Loved it!! 🙂🙂

Honestly I think everything else was all good, and it was busy, i understand people get stressed out. But this new so called training person was just rude! Think in my shoes, you are a cafe/brunch place, no matter how busy or frustrated you are, you can’t keep cutting people off, especially after I told you we are in a bit of rush, and that was why we came down to order, but she kept pushing us back to upstairs the moment she saw us coming down, even tho we said “but we are already here and we are in a bit of rush”. She ignored us and told us to wait upstairs and she’ll come right after. It’s not about what she said, it’s how she said it, and you may think I’m being dramatic, BUT AGAIN, you are a CAFE, it needs to be a welcoming environment for customers, if that’s so hard to understand, maybe she shouldn’t be working as a servicing staff.

Very close to the city and some really good brunch options available. I tried the Lamb Sandwich and it was delicious. Hopefully I will try more next time. They are a 2-story restaurant/cafe and the second floor (first floor in Australia) is where you can sit, work, and/or meet people. Limited electric outlets so don’t rely on the power just in case. Staff is good and they help you in deciding which food to order.

First breakfast in hobart was a nice experience. The staff are very lovely and welcoming. Food was all freshly made with care. We enjoyed the experience very much. I asked for no bacon on my french toast, the really nice lady added avocado for replacement without even asking. Such a lovely gesture, no cafe has ever done that for me before. Prices are very reasonable too. Highly recommend it 👍👍

I got the brioche French toast and I was super jazzed as my final meal in Hobart. Once I got below the first layer of the meal it was dry and definitely needed some maple syrup to round out the dish. Once I got my meal, I never saw my server again until I flag them down so I could pay. The place wasn't even busy for a Saturday morning. Not even "how is it going" when they were one table over taking orders. Overall just a miss of a spot with a lot of potential.

I wish we have this shop in Sydney. The best coffee I’ve had in a while, great place to catch up with friends, plenty of seats with nice music. Amazing food!! Super warm and friendly staff. Definitely will visit again next time when we’re in Hobart.

Stumbled accross this place and chose it for a final meal in Hobart and was really taken aback at how delicious the meal was. Service and atmosphere was delightful and the spanish omelette with chorizo was 10/10.

Inconsistent !! Frankly the coffee was great at one visit and average on another one, and also not quite strong enough according to my taste. I also had takeaway so couldn't let them know and the cinnamon roll I had was great. The crossaint which wasn't baked there wasn't that good either. Sitting area looked nice for a quick catchup with friend.

The owner is a true coffee expert and a really friendly guy. He chatted with us about the beans and explained the flavour profile. We tried the latte, a One Plus One, and the Magic, and all three were top-tier.

Villino Coffee located in Criterion Street , This little street is like coffee central :) There is a bit going on and there are other coffee shops/ cafes in this street / laneway. The first thing that jumps out to me is …. The music 😃 How many countless times I’ve encountered loud music through a cheap sound system and the play list that is like …. really? Yep I’m a musician sometimes 😂 You won’t have that problem here, and the play list is eclectic, this way everyone is included :) The coffee is serious and these people aren’t fooling around . Exceptional coffee and exceptional service , gentle respectful staff they have their own unique personality and vibe here and it stands out 🙌 It’s not pretentious it’s professional and proper:) The muffin was incredible made on site🌈 It’s a different culture, it’s the real deal coffee culture 10/10🕺

Pigeon was worthy of its name for the top one of the pastries in Tasmania 🥐 🏆 There’s so much items to choose from!! All pastries were super crispy and delicious!! My favorite was Morning Bun👍🏻 The bakery is always crowded haha. Grabbing the croissants and coffee to the park nearby was a fantastic experience in the morning🥳

Tried a couple of bakeries in Hobart on my visit to find the best almond croissant, and must say that Pigeon Whole Bakers takes the crown! The almond flavour was fragrant with a healthy spread of frangipane. The croissant also had a nice rise and was buttery and caramelised. I would have liked the croissant to have been slightly less dense (more layers) but not too much more to fault!

I noticed reviews in Australia tend to be inflated (not sure if it's a lack of discernment of what is actually good food) so I was wary of the high praise but this is good!! I got the savoury scroll, croissant and an iced white. The savoury scroll was delicious, and the croissant stayed crunchy an hour later. They served the ice drink with a huge ice block which helped the coffee retain its taste without being too diluted quickly. Definitely visit here if you are in the city area. The other bakes looked good too, like the sandwich and bagels. I declare this worthy of its rating.

Such a nice cozy little place. Coffee is great, the food is amazing! The staff are friendly. Easy to walk to, parking can be a little difficult. Standing by and waiting for your coffee you can stay nice and warm with some ceiling heaters! Very nice place!

Stopped by Pigeon Whole and grabbed the morning bun, and it was incredible. Super flaky and chewy at the same time, really buttery, and the spices were spot on without being too much. An absolute treat. Definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in Hobart.

Have been here many times over many years and it never disappoints. Sweet and savoury pastries are top tier. On my latest visit I tried a Vegemite and Rackette little morsel that was so good I went back for a second. Lovely staff make this perfect start to a morning in Hobart.

Always went here for their amazing toasties and the best egg and bacon in hobart. But unfortunately now with change of ownership they've changed their whole menu! Still great staff and great coffee, but now we can't get our much loved toasties and not to mention their banana bread. 🥹

I unfortunately had a very bad service experience. I ordered 2 coffees (I was given to-go cups even though I was sitting down, but I didn't mind that). I sat down at the table which had the previous customers' dishes, but when I asked the staff if they could clear the table they told me "we aren't doing that for takeaway customers". Furthermore, the bench had cigarette butts and a dirty needle in between the slats which is quite frankly disgusting. I understand that the benches on the street may technically belong to the city, but this cafe's clients are regularly using the tables and leaving their dishes on it - Stagg has a duty to keep these tables and benches clean. Not impressed. The only upside is that the coffee was excellent, which is why I'm giving 2 stars.

Best toasties I've ever had. We got a variety of toasties with coffee for breakfast and it was phenomenal. There were a lot of seats outdoors and it was comfy-- perfect for enjoying winter in Hobart while watching the city bustle. Coffee was just as delicious and the service was great.

My favourite place for a coffee in the morning before work. You can order ahead with the Skip app. The coffee is awesome and their toasted sandwiches are to die for. The staff are incredibly friendly and will go out of their way to make sure you're comfortable. If there's ever a cafe that deserves their 5-star rating, this is it.

This was the only cafe open that opened the earliest on a Sunday morning in Hobart. That’s a big thumbs up. This is a small and quaint cafe in the heart of the CBD. The coffee was great and the granola was excellent. This was a good find. Will be back on my next visit. Love the high benches with conveniently placed power points to work on your laptop plus there is a USB hub! I love the small details.

Great coffee, Outstanding Ambience, and really friendly baristas. The pastry options are simple but satisfyingly delicious. My favourite is personally the Friand. Ambience and location makes it a great place for work/study. Close to Elizabeth College. Also one of the few places with free Wifi that isn’t Banjo’s.

Set back from the road at 219B Murray Street, it’s worth strolling down the driveway to the end to find this extraordinary coffee haven - Zimmah Coffee. This brew is hard to beat, it’s simply delicious. There’s usually a bit of a queue but you won’t have to wait long in this cosy industrial style venue strewn with high tables, books and Chesterfields. Just go in thru the red door (there’s also parking available).

As I strolled up to Imago Cafe and Bakery, a little pup sitting by the door caught my eye—a cute welcome before I even spotted the coffee shop behind it. I stepped inside and, half-joking, asked if I could take the dog home for free. The lovely owner and barista girls just smiled and said no, sadly for me. So, I settled for the next best thing: their coffee and a bite. I ordered a mocha and a gluten-free orange friand. Both were spot-on—rich, balanced, and downright tasty. The place itself is cozy, with just the right music setting a relaxed vibe. The staff was super friendly and warm, making it all the better. It was a great stop—perfect for a coffee break, a date, or just hanging out. Highly recommend giving it a try.

Beautiful coffee and delicious food. We got the smashed avo and chilli oil scrambled eggs and they may have been the best scrambled eggs iv had in my life so far. Coffee is strong but not overpowering but nice and smooth, great ambience in the place with comfortable seating and good art.

Imago Café feels like stepping into a different world the moment you walk in 🌿☕ It’s a cute little garden-style spot small but full of charm 🌸 We were lucky 🍀 to get a table right away as a group had just left. The coffee was lovely ☕️, “The food was okay, but nothing really stood out.”🍽️. It was pretty packed that day . a group of four were squeezed at a tiny table 😬, and they didn’t look too happy. Staff were doing their best but seemed a bit short-handed 🏃‍♀️💨 Overall, we had a pleasant visit and didn’t have to wait long for our food or drinks ✨

Went in at 8am and told the staff we were in a rush. They assured us the food will come out in 10 minutes and it really did. Thank you!! 🥰 Came here specially for Blue Sky. But the food looks so good too, so we got the crepe and omu rice. Would’ve gotten the honey butter toast too if we weren’t in a rush. Everything’s yummy and pretty 💯 Oh and they have drinks called Blue Sky and Dark Clouds. I think it’s very creative and tempted me to open my own café so I can sell pretty drinks too.

The buckwheat crepe with Wursthaus ham was probably the best thing I have eaten in 2025. The balance of flavours, great texture and a lovely hint of Gruyere cheese and truffle. Was surprisingly busy for a cafe on a Monday mid-morning however the staff coped effortlessly and with a smile. Will definitely go back for the crepe.

Fantastic, we’re in Hobart for the weekend and attended twice as we loved the food so much. Had the Omurice with the beef, I could drink that Demi glacé straight! And we loved the honey butter toast, perfect crunch from the honey and the blueberry compote with mascarpone was a perfect topper yummm. Will definitely be back next time we are in Hobart

Excellent vibes and beautiful service. Food was unbelievably good - tomato omurice with sautéed greens - 9.5/10, rice was full of umami flavour covered by a soft egg. The omurice sauce was rich and peppery. - chashu soba - 9.5/10, fresh, flavourful, appetizing, perfect balance between ingredients For drinks we got the blue sky and dark cloud which were not only delicious but so aesthetic.

We saw the reviews and thought it was worth a visit. Coffee was nice, however after waiting 45min for food we discovered they never put our order through, so we went to the counter and pointed to food in the front cabinet to go with our coffees when we paid (which really should have been free due to the stuff up and waiting for nothing), and our food order wasn't put through again even though we pointed to it. The male gentleman with glasses was polite, but asleep on the job doesn't cut it, sorry. Really a very, very disappointing experience.

We were on a search for the best croissants in Hobart and I think we have a top contender! Daci & Daci are up there and they also have the best coffee I’ve had so far during my visit. There is an indoor section and an outdoor platform for dining. You can also take away. The selection of other baked goods is amazing. The staff are so friendly and helpful, the seating area buzzing with good vibes and the food just great. Highly recommended.

The most amazing cakes/desserts. If anything the staff were just a bit proper and stuffy for our liking, but the service was very prompt. It's quite expensive for cake, but delicious and presented beautifully. A great place for a special treat.

Bowled over by their creative cake decorations as we walked to the city from the waterfront! A A delightful and inviting shopfront! The tiramisu cake was yummy. The chai and dirty chai were nice. Certainly a must sweet stop to pause, relax and savour the great beauty of Hobart that has won my heart despite that many years of love for it!

A fantastic little patisserie with visiting in Hobart. Not a super hyped place, but it is worth visiting as most of the cakes and patisseries are of a high standard. Update...we ended up doing breakfast here 3 days in total on our trip to Tasmania, we just couldn't pass up the opportunity for great food, service and atmosphere.

The pork and fennel sausage roll is honestly so good. The flavors are spot on, the pastry is golden and flaky, and you can tell a lot of care went into making it. On top of that, the way it’s presented makes it feel extra special – it looks just as good as it tastes.

Have walked passed so many times but never at the right times. So last weekend I planned it better and went here for breakfast. Very cute interior and the staff is super friendly and efficient. The coffee is good and I loved the menu with all dishes including local ingredients..so hard to choose. I went with the mushroom baked eggs and it waa divine. The cakes and pastries looked great too and I could have sat there all day eating my way through it all..but that will be for another day as I will definitely come back.

I had such a wonderful experience at Hobart Coffee Roasters over the weekend. I went in for breakfast on Saturday and loved it so much I came back again on Sunday. The food is fantastic, the service is impeccable, and I can’t recommend this cafe more highly. What really stood out to me was how accommodating Chef Joel was with my dietary requirements. Coming from Melbourne, it was such a relief to find a place that not only serves amazing food but also goes the extra mile to make sure everyone is looked after. It’s rare to find a cafe that delivers on all fronts—great coffee, delicious food, warm service, and a chef who genuinely cares. Huge thanks to Joel and the team—I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in Hobart!

An absolute gem for a local coffee shop. So busy that you know it had to be good. I went there daily on vacation for a week in Hobart for a very good flat white (or 2) and it never disappoints. Staff is friendly and engaging which is nice. Very organized in their approach. They have a great menu with plenty of options. Just not a ton of seating.

I bought takeaway coffees on a Tuesday afternoon, from a cruise shop and I received such friendly service it felt like I was an everyday regular customer here. Great coffee and treats too. Highly recommend, especially if you need a good coffee hopping off a cruise ship, it's very close to the port.

Cottage style cafe for lunch and brekkie. Nice ambience & friendly staff. Brekkie burger, Halloumi burger & hash brown fries were very tasty. Dirty chai looked nice but didn't taste good. There are vegetarian & vegan option in the menu.

Refined pastry place atop a hill ! Slight attitude - with phrases like “we don’t do that here” heard. Not the end of the world, actually very good pastry and fine coffee! Check this place out - careful of the hill !

Overall experience has been very inconsistent. The first time I visited, the perfect golden croissant was beautifully layered, airy on the inside, and had that perfect buttery crunch, really impressive. But on other visits, the croissant was noticeably different: dry, lacking the light, flaky texture you’d expect, and at times overbaked or even a bit burnt. It almost felt like a completely different product each time. Service has also been hit and miss. 6th June, they missed my coffee order out of a group of five, and the lady barista didn’t even acknowledge it or apologise. That left a pretty poor impression. That said, a few of the trainees were lovely and clearly passionate. Very disappointed but hoping there will be more consistency in both the bake and service, it could easily become a favourite spot. Hope to see it improve!

I had a latte and cruffin. The cruffin had a chocolate custard filling encased by the buttery pastry. So delicious.

From airport I was straight to queens pastry to try their almond croissant from Melbourne . 🥐 it was scrumptious and delicious 🤤. Everything displayed looked so yum but almond croissant were top notch. Wasn’t impressed by coffee though . Highly recommend if you are bakery items lover. Will visit again next time.

A great location with great food and friendly service. Love to have the ham and cheese croissants in the morning. Having the sign out front with the times when the croissants are fresh out of the oven is also a big positive.

Happened to be staying just around the corner from this little pastry shop. Showed up just as they were putting out fresh, warm croissants - delicious! The pear and almond cruffin was also excellent - nicely balanced flavor and not too sweet. The donuts have good, chewy texture but were too sugary for my liking. I'd give the croissants 5 stars if you get them fresh at bake time, 4 stars otherwise.

Nice looking place. Good position to pick-up the walk through traffic. Served a couple of customers before me, even through I ordered my coffee first, gave regulars preference service. Got stung with an 80c upgrade for a Mocha. Lady behind the counter didn't tell me until I pointed out the price increase. Coffee is just part of the overall experience. The coffee is really good. They know you and take the time to create a welcoming atmosphere. I would 100% recommend their coffee. They do a great 'magic' ask for one next time you want a coffee. (As long as you do milk).

I recently visited the Coffee Shop, and it was an absolute delight! From the moment I walked in, the cozy atmosphere and warm service set the tone for an exceptional experience. The highlight of my visit was the sandwich with caramelized onions and cheese – a combination I had never tried before. Let me tell you, it was nothing short of extraordinary! The sweetness of the onions paired perfectly with the richness of the melted cheese, creating a flavor explosion that I’m still thinking about days later. It’s the kind of sandwich that you find yourself craving the moment you leave. And then there was the coffee – magnificent! I have never had a better omelette in my life!!!!!!! also the service was impeccable! It was a super busy day, they tried to serve everyone as best they could and still made it a very welcoming and relaxing environment. I will be back! Coffee was AMAZING.

I visited Farzi and did the bottomless brunch, the food came out quite fast, and it was delicious. Portion sizes may be a tad small depending on your appetite, and a bit pricey for me. But over all the service was amazing, the drinks were also delicious. The staff there made us feel so welcome and were very attentive to their customers! Will definitely be visiting again! The menu has so many delicious options that it was hard to choose what to order. The Turkish eggs were amazing, and the Taro pancakes were a beautiful and tasty mix of colors and flavors. The artistry that is Farzi’s delicious food, has never and will never disappoint. I have never loved a French toast option more! The hardest part about going to Farzi, is choosing which delicious option to have! The drinks are refreshingly delicious and the staff are the friendliest around. Do yourself a favour and book in, you will be happily nourished.

We sat in the glass area which was beautiful and warm on a winters day. Staff very attentive and happy to find answers to any questions we had. The food was delicious, perfect for a brunch or light lunch.

I really wanted to like this place. I had stalked the instagram and was super excited to try it out! The food is presented beautifully, but the taste is a bit bland. We had the Turkish Eggs and French Toast which had the potential to be delicious, but they were both was flavourless. Attention to detail was lacking as well... the eggs we needed a spoon for which we had to ask for as they didn't bring one... the table and chair both rocked significantly which meant we had to move tables and we were placed at a table for 4 when there was only 2 of us. It seemed like the attention was given to the overall look of the place but lacked sophistication as it portrays. It is also expensive for what it is. The service is friendly though.

Amazing atmosphere! The sandwiches were so flavoursome and the drinks were excellent! Seating was a little tight, but even on crutches I was able to manouver through the space easily enough. Everyone working there was professional, in a laid back effortless kind of way. I will 100% be coming back to try the rest of the menu!

We were staying nearby and discovered this little gem. Cool art and love the fact they honoured the original laundromat throughout! Great food and coffee and enjoyed a cocktail pre dinner. What we loved most was the service and friendliness of the staff.

Their sandwiches are hands-down some of the best you’ll find in the city. We went for the veggie options and loved every bite, with the egg sandwich quickly becoming our favourite – so much flavour and such great value for the price. A special mention goes to the waitress, who always greets us with infectious energy and her signature funny salutes – she makes every visit feel extra welcoming. This place might look unassuming, but once you step inside, you’ll discover a local treasure.

The Westside Laundry cafe may be small in size, but it more than makes up for it with character and charm. The unique décor creates a cosy and inviting atmosphere, making it an enjoyable place to spend time. The Swartz is exceptionally juicy and full of flavour, the coffee is brewed to perfection, and the service provided by the owner is outstanding, warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. This is a place worth returning to, and I look forward to coming back soon!

I visited the place for a small meeting with 7 people. The staff were very friendly and arranged a space for us, even offering glasses of water. We stayed longer than expected, but they were very accommodating. The cappuccino I had was very tasty, and my son enjoyed his hot chocolate. My friends were also very happy with the service and the food. Highly recommended!

I buy Beans from here regularly and the manager who is new (Asian I believe) was insanely clicky and rude and would not snap out of it while I asked about getting Filter beans back in. I've had the absolute best service here prior to this occasion and never dealt with her or seen her before. Super snarky and clicky over such a simple question that left my blood boiling as she blamed me for buying the wrong one last time which I didn't even care about! I've been in the industry longer than she's been alive at this point. Bring back any of the past staff from the last few years. Absolutely loved them all. I'm so easy to deal with unless you are bitchy and clicky. Looked like she had no sleep honestly and rage monster. Full mainland vibes and she would suit a place like Sydney with this snappy energy. Stronger tasting but good coffee. Usually have to queue and wait a bit for it to be made. Cool but industrial vibe - not comfortable or cosy and has harsh lighting. I prefer takeaway or sitting at their outdoor table.

Nifty little hole in the wall. The service was great and employees supper friendly, the atmosphere is very casual and comfortable. Definitely the best Ice chocolate in town.

I really like my experience here, cosy environment, the winding stairs and cute and friendly staff. I tried crispy squid (my favorite) the the special menu Mussels which is a little bit salty to me but this didn’t stop me loving this dish. There is live music show on Saturday. Enjoy it! Absolutely loved my visit to Harbour Light Cafe! The seating area is really nice and cozy, perfect for a relaxed brunch. The service was super friendly and welcoming. We had the salmon Eggs Benedict and Bacon Eggs Florentine made with beautiful, locally sourced ingredients – it was delicious! The coffee was excellent too. Can’t wait to come back!

Superb experience all around! We went pretty late at night after a long day of traveling, but who I presume to be the owner was very welcoming and kind. He was running the front and the back of the restaurant by himself. Immediately, the atmosphere was so cozy and warm. Ans we had our orders taken promptly. I had the carbonara and my mate had the salmon. The carbonara was one of the best, if not the best, carbonara I've ever had. Not to mention, the presentation of every dish was so clean and delicious looking. This is a great choice for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Hidden gem in the lane! I regret not orderimg the same mushroom sandwich asmy husband. I had a taste and it was delicious! Very clean taste, simple and healthy. Context: Sunday morning brunch for two at 8 a.m. Smolt offers a unique atmosphere for a Hobart brunch spot, with upbeat disco music and a vibrant contrast of bright colours against clean white backdrops. The space feels eye-catching and inviting. I ordered the Steak Sandwich, one of the Sunday specials. It was flavoursome and filling, and the provided cutlery made it easier to tackle the generous portion of steak. For my drink, I had a large soy dirty chai. While the milk was smooth, the coffee itself tasted a little weak and I found myself ordering a second. On a future visit, I’d likely request an extra shot, as I hadn’t clarified how many were included in the large size. My dining companion ordered the Smashed Avocado with a well-done egg, which was prepared perfectly to their request. The staff were friendly and attentive, with our server showing genuine enthusiasm for our selections and ensuring we were well looked after throughout. I’d be happy to return to enjoy that sandwich again — thank you, Smolt.

I was pretty excited to dine here, I liked the aesthetic of the venue and the options for food. But goddamn was the service bad, I arrived, no service, I walked to the desk thinking maybe I need to order there and they told me the full menu is “table service” so I grabbed a menu and sat down. When I was ready to order I looked over at the counter with the waiter and waitress, I kept looking, I turned my chair to face them and kept looking. After about 30 mins finally someone came to take my order. AND IT WASNT JUST ME! The guy sitting next to me ordered a steak sandwich. Waited and it never came, turned out his order just got lost in the ether. How did I remember it better than the staff? And it’s not like this is a big place either, it’s literally one room and some outdoor seating. I’ve worked in hospo so I have some sympathy but this was pretty bad service.

Enjoyed our dinner at this consistently good local cafe. Half price parmies with any drink purchase on Wednesday nights is a good deal. Garlic pizza delicious as was the pork sausage and mushroom pizza. Beef burger got 10/10 too! Friendly staff and quick service. Recommend booking as it was full on a Wed night.

Great place for a brunch with plenty of parking close by. Quick,, friendly and efficient service. You can choose from a multitude of food and drinks. I had the Grilled haloumi yesterday which is delicious, but all the meals are tasty. There's indoor and outdoor seating, but I recommend booking between peak times. There's also a limit of about 2 hours for each booking. Dogs are welcome outside and the even provide a water bowl for them :)

Quaint old world Cafe nestled on a corner in quiet back streets. Indoor seating is limited but generally adequate. On nice days, there is the option of outdoor seating. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The breakfast menu is extensive, and the servings are generous, well presented, and tasty.

What a hidden gem, this cafe has made a fabulous addition to the area. In the short time they have been operating, they have turned this cafe into a thriving little hub. The smell of freshly brewed coffee and bacon cooking made it impossible to walk past without stopping in. We stopped in for breakfast and oh my goodness, options galore. The breakfast was huuuge. The staff were so busy but had a smile on their dial, even when impatient customers (only 2) were cranky and quite honestly rude to the staff. I felt these staff members did an amazing job with the amount of people waiting. All food was hot and delicious and the coffee went down a treat. We will be definitely stopping in again and again. For those customers who are impatient, my tip is to pack your manners and have a little understanding when it is busy. I would highly recommend this little gem. Trudy

Cappuccino Three eggs cheese omelette long black 😊 Cheers to David who drove the coffee to the maximum flavor. Cheese omelette was cheesy enough to make your tummy happy. And putting extra mushrooms inside the omelette makes the texture and taste twice better. Located in a quiet street aside from the busy main street of the north hobart, you can feel the calming vibe in here.

Recently popped in for takeaway lunch. I got a cream cheese bagel and a vanilla milkshake. The bagel was hands down the best bagel I’ve ever had in my life! 10/10. I was actually so impressed! It was perfectly fresh, toasted so was crunchy but still soft, no soggy hard doughy bagel in sight! The cream cheese and pickles were absolutely delish! Plus my milkshake tasted like pancakes!!! I was in heaven. Liked this place before, but LOVE this food now!

We went there for a late breakfast and everything's amazing. I love how the menu is kind of Asian inspired and they made it so good. Me and my friend love the dandan noodles which is a perfect balance of the creamy nutty flavors that cut by a tangy sour pickled cabbage and the chili oil also very aromatic. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, one of them even offer to take a photo for us even when they're quite busy. Definitely coming back if we're ever in Hobart again, love the overall vibes of the place so much and the music is great as well. 10 10 10👌💕

Top coffee , great Korean fusion cuisine. I've been here twice for breakfast and coffee. It is definitely a worthwhile visit. They have a delicious barista paddle with 3 different coffee varieties. The food mostly Korean inspired and everything I have had, has been of the highest quality and completely delicious.

We loved the food and coffee here so much we came back a second time while visiting Hobart. We had the green and grain salad, tofu bowl and haloumi fries (so good and a generous serving). The person serving us was lovely and even recommended us places to eat while in town (we went to Ogee on their recommendation and really enjoyed it). We'll be sure to come back again next time.

Nicely done up place. Very friendly staff. We went with the intention to eat mexican but it was not operational due to a wedding downstairs, bit of a bummer :-( Korean vegetarian dumplings were delicious. Tempura Mushroom was lovely too... I really appreciated the heaters and the fire place

Went to the Hanging Gardens last week for the first time and I was in awe of the greenery and overall vibe of the place. There’s such a variety of food, drinks and music that inhabit your very being. Big shoutout to Queen Sheba, I had the Key Wot from them and, can I just say, I was absolutely blown away by the spice and flavour of the food. It was such an authentic meal and the owners were so lovely and happy to share their culture with everyone, and they cater to any and every dietary requirement. Definitely recommend giving them a visit! Trust me, you won’t be disappointed.

In the Hanging Garden (ITHG) is a unique partly outdoor venue that takes up nearly an entire block with multiple access points including one on Murray Street in the Hobart CBD. Within you find multiple tiered area with alfresco dining, standing room tables with high glass ceiling, a multitude of cascading and hanging plants, heaters and a fair amount of space for those visiting one of the eateries (Mexican, Deli, Pizzeria, Korean, Slow Comfort Food) or bars that are setup within the Hanging Gardens. We had dinner here one night during a recent stay in Hobart, found our Calabrese pizza that was quite good. Bar and wine served up from the downstairs bar was fine as well. Took seating upstairs near the central heating and really enjoyed the vibes of ITHG. This is a really fun place to meet up with friends afterwork or on weekends and a neat place for visitors to try while in the city. Would love to visit again next time in Hobart.

I just love," The Hanging Garden". Met up on Saturday with my dear friend and daughter. I always go to my favourite, Vegan Korean Tofu. It is absolutely delicious. The staff are amazing, and the atmosphere is so relaxed and friendly. Would definitely recommend for any occasion. See you guys again soon. Keep up the good work. 👍

I visited on a Sunday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised to see many families, including children, creating a diverse and friendly environment. It’s clear that this spot is perfect for all kinds of visitors, adding to its appeal. One of the highlights is the expansive communal seating area, which can accommodate hundreds of people comfortably. There’s even a stage structure, suggesting this venue is well-prepared for live events and performances. Without a doubt, The Hanging Garden is one of the best-planned spaces for events in the heart of Hobart. Highly recommended!

If you’re looking for a place to kill the vibe and be told off like you’re in detention instead of out with your mates, this is the bar for you. We came in to enjoy a few drinks, spend some money, and have a good time. Apparently, the crime we committed was laughing too loudly. Not shouting, not causing a scene, just laughing. Isn’t that the whole point of going out with friends? To relax and enjoy yourself? Instead, we got scolded by staff like naughty schoolkids. Nothing kills a good night quicker than being policed for having fun. The atmosphere went from buzzing to awkward in seconds. Drinks were average, service was colder than the beer, and the staff clearly care more about keeping the place funeral-quiet than letting people enjoy themselves.

WHAT AN AMAZING PLACE! In The Hanging Garden is one of the best concepts for an entertainment venue in existence. It is so Tasmania in the sense of the gardens yet adding a Melbourne like Laneway vibe. Adding 4 different types of delicious food vendors with drinks to match makes it the perfect location for an afternoon chill out session or a nice meal with food with friends or the family. A great location and a must when in Hobart!

Luckily, we still made it to this hidden gem tucked away in an alley, and it was totally worth it 😎 We ordered a long black and a flat white — the beans had the perfect balance of fruity and nutty notes 🤩 Also tried a bagel from Pigeon Whole Bakers, and the combo of ingredients was just perfect 😍 If you’re living in the city, this spot is definitely worth a visit😚

This cafe is a must try. The strawberry matcha was such good quality and the strawberry tasted so fresh. Their bagels always hit the spot. Such a wide range of sweet treats there is definitely something for every one. You will not regret going.

Coffee is ALWAYS perfect; staff always warm and professional; snacks are delectable and different from the usual offerings - try the Rocky Road, or the protein bites - all actually hand made. There are so many reasons Staple is my all time favourite - one I recommend to my entire interstate and international family and friends. Plus Phil is always up for a game of cricket in the lane!

This is a beautiful, bright, and elegant café with a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. The staff is exceptionally friendly, leaving a lasting impression. The coffee is absolutely delicious, smooth, and aromatic, making every sip a delight. However, while the coffee left me thoroughly impressed, the food didn’t quite suit my taste, so I didn’t manage to finish everything on my plate. Despite this, the excellent coffee and service would definitely bring me back for another visit, hoping to have a better food experience next time.

Random walk around cbd and see this lovely gem. Got a coffee with lactose free milk $5.5. Taste good. I like the coffee style and layout, which make the coffee shop really clean and simple. They also have cake and savoury burger/sandwich. Will be back next time to try those.

Feel very welcoming once walked into the cafe evertime, my favourite coffee all time. Bloom cafe keep up the quality of coffee but so Price much friendly compair to so many cafe around Hobart.

First time visiting this place this morning! Stoked to find another wonderful coffee shop that makes a delicious iced mocha!! I’m not a full blown coffee drinker yet so I love that the mocha is a perfect blend between coffee and chocolate, sometimes it’s hard to find places that can make it just right 👌🏼 Thank you!!

Coffee is delicious and there are different varieties to choose from. I've gone sometimes when it has been quieter and did a bit of reading inside, other days it has been busy and the bustle is a sure sign that it's worth it!! Love the yum breakfast butty. The staff are also a stunning bunch with sparkly eyes.

Visiting from the blue mountains this felt like specialty coffee from home! Duncan was happy to talk through his setup and provide some tasty brews and spros. Felt very looked after and the coffee was top notch as expected. Lovely sunny location and the best service. Can't wait to come back!!

This is one of the greatest coffee shops I have had the pleasure of patronizing, and I have swilled coffee from the snobbiest cafe bars in Tokyo to my coffee-proud hometown of Portland, OR. They dial in their machine perfectly and are masterful at the whole process. Even more importantly, this place is just lovely to go into. Duncan, the owner-operator, is warm, charming, and helpful. I went every single day (often twice) while on a trip with my partner’s family and we chatted them up and had such a congenial time. They gave us recommendations about things to try while visiting and they seemed to have wonderful rapport with everyone that came through their doors. Also, I would be remiss if I did not mention the vegan, kraut and pumpkin sandwich which, I said on my first travel-famished visit, was “one of the peak achievements in my sandwich eating career.” It did not stop delivering the next three times I had it either. Overall, this place was simply wonderful and I wish I lived next to it.

During a short stay in Hobart I found Abercrombie Cafe. Fantastic coffee and friendly service. Always a bonus to finding great coffee, will definitely be both going back and recommending to friends visiting Hobart

A great cafe tucked away underneath a corner building in South Hobart. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and create a welcoming atmosphere. The food and coffee are excellent, highly recommend!

Jerry, Min, and staff were very welcoming and provided exceptional service. The meals 😋 come in generous portions and are delicious. They make the best 👌 coffee in Hobart. The baked eggs, eggs Benedict, and the pulled pork brisket were delicious. The plating was inviting, and the food not only looked appetising but tasted yummy. The portion sizes are generous. They have a new chef, and you can taste the love in the food. The teapots come in different colours, with aromatic tea leaves making a tasty brew. They were accommodating to our needs and made us feel special. We love going for brunch 💓New to the menu are the scrumptious prawns and fried rice. Highly recommended!! And will definitely be back again!

Amazing staff who are incredibly friendly and truly look after you. The food is unbelievably good, and the coffee is excellent. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, with the added charm of art pieces displayed like a gallery. You can even purchase some of the artwork! A wonderful spot for great food, coffee, and a touch of creativity.

Best breakfast I have had in a long time. Great coffee. Recommend to book as it gets busy. Will be back here on our next visit from SA. Great customer service and food is to die for. Thank you all again.

Visiting from out of town and happened to stumble across this great little cafe on google maps. The food, coffee and service were exceptional, nothing was too much trouble for adding or changing some food options. Had the eggs benny twice, along with the piggy in the farm and banana bread (over 3 visits) and each dish was sensational. Parking was easy and coffee was on point as well 👌🏽 If you’re visiting Hobart, then this little cafe is a must.

A gourmet gem in West Hobart! We had a lovely brunch sitting under the heaters outside (lap blankets also provided) All three meals were delicious and great coffee/hot chocolate.

I have lived here for a year and a half. Every time I pass by this restaurant at work, I see a lot of guests sitting in it. Today, I took my family and my puppy to experience it once. The service and food are so great, which gives us the illusion of going home. Highly recommended.

Iced latte was great!, I asked for a vegan version of the tempura burger and it was ok. My partner ordered the chicken waffle and said it was the best one he has had so far. Staff were nice and friendly. Portions are just perfect for breakfast/brunch. They might be a little small if you are super hungry. There’s 2 sweet vegan options and 2 savoury! Overall experience was good! 😊

Incredible waffles and excellent atmosphere. We ordered the Banana & Bacon and the Jesse's Chicken Waffles which I would happily order again. Super crunchy chicken and bacon, and waffles were soft and delightful. Service by the barista was top notch also.

I'm very fussy with my breakfasts, not want anything rich or heavy or filling and Waffle On Cafe delivered a beautiful, refreshing tastey meal. The waffles were fresh and soft, and the runny egg yolk flowed over the waffle pattern filling up the recesses wonderfully. This was one of my favourite breakfasts. Service was good. It didn't feel like the meal took too long to be served considering the freshness of the waffles. Price to quality trade off was great. Will happily return.

Had an amazing experience here at the Waffle On Cafe! Loved every minute! From the service from the staff, to the location and venue itself and to the amazing food! Can highly recommend eating breakfast here! The breakfast waffles are absolutely delicious! Light and fluffy and filled with flavour! The coffee also would have to be one of the best coffees I have had in Hobart! It is also very reasonable priced and can’t fault any aspect of the Waffle On Cafe! It is easily a 5/5 stars from me! :))

Oooh boy! I know my waffles are at least I thought I did. Heavens to BETSY the lemon meringue waffles (with an extra waffle) was literally to die for! Coffee was solid, silky and the correct proportion of foam. Service was fast and the cafe was clean and presentable. We ordered maple syrup on the side (didn’t need it. I ended up tipping the maple into my coffee) My wife and I will be back and eager to try some more of the menu options. 10/10

When we were looking for a brunch spot in Hobart, we came across Waffle On Cafe. We got there a few minutes before they opened and there was already a big group waiting. We got the traditional brussels waffle with vanilla ice cream, chantilly cream and syrup + flat whites. The waffle was fluffy and had a great texture. Paired with the accoutrements, it wasn't too sweet and overall a great brunch sweet treat. All the waffles have gluten-free options, which is great if you have food specificities. The coffee was also great as they used beans from Botero coffee roasters. The restaurant itself seems to be popular. So we recommend to come a little early to enjoy their waffles.

It’s a good mix of savoury on a waffle instead of the usual bread. They ran out of salmon for the day. I’m sure it would look beautiful and delicious on the plate. Definitely a go to for big breakfast. When u get coffee ask them for a mug , cos u would really wanna enjoy the breakfast .

I quiet little cafe tucked away in a corner. Great location, but doesn’t allow for big groups. Perfect spot for 2 friends to catch up. The food was great, just took a little longer to come out. Definitely recommend and can’t wait to try the waffles next time.

Absolutely delicious breakfast. The hollandaise sauce was spot-on perfect! The savoury waffle is crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The house-made pesto, like the hollandaise, was perfect. Coffee....superb. Service was super friendly and just what sets the day up for our first visit to Hobart. (Chef) Hats off to your Cafè.

This is the best little cafe in Hobart. Not only are the staff extremely friendly and welcoming but they make delicious coffee and have a great menu and food. I really look forward to working in the city so I can visit this lovely cafe.

Had such a lovely time at Picnic Café! The outdoor seating area is bright and relaxing, perfect for enjoying the sunshine. I ordered the smashed avo with poached eggs and it was fresh, flavourful, and beautifully presented. The coffee was spot-on smooth, rich, and served at just the right temperature. Staff were friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Definitely a great spot for a weekend brunch or a catch-up with friends.

Very small dining space with plenty of room in the laneway outside, creative use of waffles on a savory menu, cheerful service and good breakfast on the weekend. Definitely worth a look at the incredibly diverse pastries on offer.

Been there twice already and I cannot resist having a hot chocolate. It was amazing!!! And the brunch was incredible as well. The staff is kind and welcoming. The barista Annie is approachable and friendly. Totally recommended.

Before heading out to the Bruny Island, we need a good breakfast. This is one of the best place in Hobart. We ordered egg benedict with salmon, sourdough with ham and cheese and cauliflower & leek soup and all taste great and yummy. The place itself is full of customers, it is also favorite place for the locals.

My man's cut the crust of my daughters toast and was a general delight to be around. Coffee was perfect. I can't find any faults in the food it was a stellar breakfast 10/10. Impress your friends and family by bringing them here.

Had breakfast here with a big group. Made an appointment earlier before coming. Parking is available on side roads. Staff is attentive and helpful. Ambiance of the place is quite nice, but the some of the poor succulent plants may do well with some water 😀 Menu consists with varieties of food mostly ranging from Eggs and SD toasts. Hot and cold drinks available. Food is awesome and very appeasing to see. I cleared my plate soonest. Really recommended.

Ok first things first: the coffee is good; like Melbourne-standard good. Food is amazing, and is a nicely different selection with dishes I haven't seen elsewhere (like chicken waffles). Friendly service though it was quite slow on the weekday morning (despite the place being less than half full at the time). Might've been a temporary staffing issue.

Lovely hidden cafe in Sandy Bay. Very nice setting and the coffee here is on par to what we love and are used to in Melbourne (really good!). The cakes were delicious and staff here are attentive and friendly. Would love to come back here for a proper meal.

Nice neighbourhood cafe in a quiet street with lots of food and drink options. There are plenty of seats and a nice vibe inside. I highly recommend coming here for lunch or a coffee if you're in Sandy Bay.
