Oishii Japanese and Thai Restaurant is a popular dining spot located at Roche Estate in Pokolbin, offering a relaxed atmosphere with high ceilings, adorned walls, and a terrace. The restaurant serves authentic Japanese and Thai cuisine with an extensive menu featuring traditional favorites like teriyaki chicken, fragrant Thai curries, sushi, sashimi, and vegetarian dishes.
Service was prompt and efficient. Food was fresh, hot and we didn’t have to wait long for courses to be served. The flavours were perfectly balanced, every mouth was delicious. Portion sizes very generous.

What a fantastic place! The food at Oishii was super delicious—every bite was a delight. And I have to say, their moscato is hands down the best I’ve ever tasted. Great atmosphere! Highly recommend this spot for anyone visiting the area!

The food was absolutely delicious! Grass fed beef sizzle plate was my all time favourite. Kind friendly attentive service, they have a beautiful outdoor seating area, unfortunately no heating for the cooler nights but still beautiful with all the lights, and a nice full of life inside seating area, that can get loud once full. We will definitely be back 🙂 only captured a few of our food photos

Overall the food in Australia is very good. It is heavy with proteins like Wagu and lamb etc. so finding a rare Asian restaurant in hunter valley was a nice change. The location was easy as signage was easy to recognize. The interior was very minimalist and clean. The stag was attentive and food was better than average. The highlight was the whole fried fish and should be tried. They also had a variety of desserts. The prices were fair and we were more than satisfied.
Howard O — Google review
Foods are ok with great outside view. However staff services are horrible with bad attitude, feels like I need to please them for any extra need other then order and deliver your food. During the order, she was rushing and wasn't happy for a simple order change. Ask for medium rare and medium beed and gave us the wrong order. Will not return for sure.
Samson C — Google review
Our dinner was lovely, we enjoyed all our entrees and the mains were incredible full of flavour and great portions to share. The service was great.
Tanya O — Google review
The food was so good we went back the next day! Beef tappanyaki was OUTSTANDING! We also loved the seafood fried rice and different curries that we ordered. Service and location were also great. Right beside Tempus Teo with ample parking and nice atmosphere. Keep up the great work.

Restaurant
Located in Hunter Valley Gardens Village, The Cellar Restaurant offers modern Australian cuisine with a Mediterranean twist. The rustic space features ceiling-high windows and a leafy patio, creating a charming ambiance. Chef Andy Wright's menu is highly recommended, and guests can enjoy dishes like Yorkshire pudding with braised wagyu skirt or chargrilled quail with sweetcorn blinis, pomegranate, and watercress. The restaurant also boasts a 170-strong drink list to complement the dining experience.
We booked the restaurant for a wedding lunch and all guests loved it. We are locals and shortlisted this restaurant after trialling many others in the valley. You will not get disappointed: the quality and attention to detail are in every plate they serve. 5/5 hands down. Thank you Vanessa and their for providing such a beautiful experience to us and our guests

This place is absolutely delicious!!!! We ordered the lamb rack, 12 hour cooked rump, chocolate mousse and cheesecake. It can't be more delicious!! The rump was extremely flavoursome and tender. I also really loved the puff and cookie ice cream with the chocolate mousse and the (unbelievably) tardy mix of pineapple and cheesecake! Absolutely cooked to perfection!! They managed to squeeze us in even though we did a last minute call. Thanks! The staffs were really friendly as well but they are quite short on staffs so do allow for extra dining time. Would be even better if they can wear masks but definitely the food is worth trying when you visit this place!!! 😚
Sally C — Google review
We had lunch at The Cellar for our wedding anniversary and it was lovely. A big open space so we felt safe and it made the room quite quiet. We shared some oysters to start and they were lovely and fresh and salty. We both choose the salmon duo entree which was also lovely. I had the kingfish for main which was perfectly cooked although the accompanying vegetables were a bit of a challenge to eat, especially the broccoli stem. My wife went for the blue swimmer crab (which was still in the shell) and she loved it. A very nice lunch and we would certainly recommend dining here.

2023.. Update. We're back, and again, this place exceeded our previous experience, which was amazing. This time, we tried the lamb shoulder for 2. It was to be the best lamb I've ever eaten. It was more than enough for two people. Tender, juicy, and so succulent. We might just come back tomorrow for another one. This is the Hunter Vallet best kept secret but not any more. The pictures don't do it justice. Again, the staff were amazing, warm, friendly, and very helpful. 2021.. What a wonderful place for dinner. We were warmly greeted by the staff and seated immediately. They were very polite and friendly. Took our orders quickly, and the meals arrived pretty quickly. Our steaks were perfect and very delicious. Even our kids' meals are fresh and full of flavour and even come with free dessert. We were extremely happy with the whole experience. Thank you to everyone at the Cellar Restaurant.
Bart M — Google review
Cellar restaurant = stellar restaurant. The food is upscale, portion sizes are small however. Serving time is average but the flavours are good. Very good selection of wine (you wouldn't expect any less in the heart of the Hunter Valley), the decor and the ambience are contemporary. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to those looking for a fine evening at a diner.
Amit C — Google review
With a last minute booking we were expecting a nice dinner out, but WOW were we blown away by the quality of the food at this restaurant! The quality and execution of the dishes matching that of some of Sydney's top restaurants. The interior is unique with what feels like an outdoor area, with gardens on either side, yet fully enclosed with air conditioning & windows all around. The gardens, lighting and fireplace create a great atmosphere, particularly at night. However, the food is the real attraction here! The standouts for us were: - ENTREE: Prawn Gow Gee with mushroom style broth - MAIN: 12hr Cooked Black Angus Rump Cap They also have a wonderful selection of wines & the staff are very friendly. If you're in the area do yourself a favour and book yourself in for a dinner, you won't be disappointed!
Chris — Google review
First time visitor and pleasantly surprised by both the food, service and ambiance. Highlights include the black Angus rump cap which was cooked to perfection and the slow cooked pork belly was a good entree choice. The Moreton bay bugs were also cooked well (not overdone) however the sauce whilst interesting, was a little underwhelming. For dessert, the Malibu cheesecake with pineapple and coconut was excellent and a great way to finish the meal. Staff were very nice and attentive to all our needs.

We have done this before. New menu and even better the second time. Food was superb with excellent wines and great warm toasty fire. Loved it.

Harkham Bar, Restaurant and Cellar Door is a unique destination in the south of the Hunter region. The cellar door offers an eclectic and vibrant tasting room where you can sample creative, pure-feeling wines crafted by owner and winemaker Richie Harkham. Recently, they have expanded to include a restaurant and bar that pairs casual Italian fare with their small batch, natural wines. The laid-back, a la carte menu is perfect for a relaxed lunch after wine tasting.
We recently celebrated a very special 80th birthday at Harkham Wines, and the entire evening was absolutely exceptional. Our group of 18 was warmly welcomed, and the team went above and beyond to make the night feel effortless and memorable. We enjoyed a set menu, and every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavour. The two pasta dishes were real standouts—rich, perfectly cooked, and absolutely delicious. The chicken dish was also a highlight, incredibly moist and succulent, which is no easy feat when catering for a large group! The cocktails were another hit of the night—creative, well-balanced, and beautifully crafted. The standout was the cheekily named “I’m a local… where’s my discount?” – fun, fresh, and instantly a crowd favourite. Service was impeccable. The staff were friendly, attentive, and wonderfully patient with our large group. They managed the flow of the evening with ease and made sure the guest of honour felt truly special. From the setting to the food, drinks, and atmosphere, everything was spot on. Thank you, Harkham Wines, for helping us celebrate such a meaningful occasion—we’ll be raving about this night for a long time to come.

Just had lunch and a wine tasting with my girlfriend there. Lovely evening with great food and drinks. But most of all the service was the best out of all the wineries we visited in the hunter valley. We were served by Taylor all evening. She was very accommodating and very bubbly. We were both impressed by her service. Highly recommend anyone coming here if you stay in the hunter valley

Had a wonderful lunch at Harkham Wines Restaurant – absolutely divine! We enjoyed the tacos and salt & pepper squid, and every bite was packed with flavour. Tried the Hark Angel Shiraz from their natural wine selection and it was just lovely. The service was outstanding – warm smiles, friendly and informative staff who really looked after us. This place is definitely on our must-visit-again list!

Came for dinner on our first night in the Hunter, and this was the perfect welcome. Excellent food that seemed to be designed around the wines so the pairings were excellent. We loved it so much we came back the next day for the tasting and were lucky enough to be guided though it with Richie, the winemaker. Would recommend Harkham for food and wine!

Satisfied group of five! We were looking for a relaxed atmosphere with wine tasting and a bite to eat. We were greeted with warmness, and nothing was a bother. We tasted numerous wines and enjoyed amazing food (prawns, lamb, chicken, aranchini...the lust goes on). Beautiful atmosphere, even better chocolate liqueur! Very happy. Thank you ❤️
Sammy D — Google review
We love Taylor!! Went here for some small bites and a chilled evening wine, came out after a 12 wine tasting experience, stomachs full from great quality eats (thanks Rob!) and amazing service from Taylor, she had great knowledge and a bubbly infectious personality that made our experience so memorable and enjoyable! Lucky to be served by her! Can’t wait to come back :)

Absolutely beautiful experience! Harkham in the Hunter Valley is such a charming and peaceful place. The wine is exceptional — especially the natural wines, full of character and flavour. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly, and make you feel right at home. The atmosphere is relaxed with stunning views and a real personal touch that makes the visit unforgettable. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the Hunter Valley — a true gem! 🍷✨
Sama N — Google review
The food was great, but the manager was extremely arrogant and condescending. Coming from a hospitality background myself, I was genuinely shocked by his attitude and lack of customer service. From the moment we walked in, he made offhand comments about how “people in the Hunter need to calm down,” which immediately set the tone. They had run out of several menu items, and when we ordered Tommy’s margaritas, they arrived overly smoked with mezcal, watery, and without salt. When we mentioned this, the manager refused to remake them in the traditional style and responded with passive-aggressive comments about how he “knew best.” Throughout our meal, tables around us remained cluttered with empty plates, and the music, loud metal, felt completely out of place for the setting. Overall it was a disappointing experience, despite the food being great and our waitress doing her best.

Nestled against the picturesque Brokenback Range, Brokenback Bar offers a cozy setting for unwinding and enjoying live performances. This bar serves up Mediterranean-inspired bites and wood-fired pizzas alongside a thoughtfully curated selection of local and international wines, beers, and spirits. Whether you're seeking a laid-back afternoon or an evening of entertainment, this venue is perfect for socializing with friends or family while taking in the vineyard views.
Spent a lovely couple of days at Estate Tuscany. Have to recommend the food (we had yellow fin tuna with tomato broth, pea and chorizo risotto and focaccia) & were provided with wonderful service from Chris & his team at Brokenback Bar which was a short walk from our room. The view, atmosphere, music and service was great.
Sheena P — Google review
Service was fantastic and servers were super friendly and helpful. Food took a while to come out and was okay. Did find a small hair in our chicken wing dish which was a tad disappointing. Menu states woodfire pizza but it did not taste like woodfire pizza. Food was overall not the highlight. But credit to the servers and beautiful location.
Andersen Z — Google review
Beef cheeks with polenta, rosemary salted chips and chicken wings. All in all, pretty good. The beef cheeks needed more salt but the chips saved them. Chips themselves were crunchy, hot and tasty although could maybe have gone even more crunchy. Loved the chicken wings. A good dry rub and really moist, tasty chicken with a decent pineapple salsa. Finished off taking a couple of scoops of their movenpick ice-cream back. Not the cheapest place but not too bad. Stand-out though tonight was the service. We were told when we came in to expect a delay as they were short staffed due to holidays. The food came almost exactly when they said and the service throughout the evening was was warm, friendly, helpful and courteous.

Such a shame that this place isn’t busy. Great views and plenty of potential. But the atmosphere is very dull. The food was very nice and the staff are also very friendly. But it needs a major overhaul to give it some life!

We had a fabulous lunch on Thursday, our food was amazing we hadthe BBQ prawns, the burrata & tomatoes, the pumpkin and the cauliflower. The 2 of kind shiraz and the lemon curd dessert. Highly recommended.

Had a beautiful experience, the service was amazing. Was very quiet, which is shame for such a beautiful restaurant and location. We highly recommend!

Absolutely great place to eat and drink. Delicious food, superb service. And very well suited if you like a vegetarian alternative too. Can't understand some of the poor reviews. This is certainly not my experience here.

Ordered a brisket and lamb ragu, no meat in it. Also saw another table send their food back. Slow service and poor atmosphere. The staff knew also, giving us a free round to make up fit the poor cuisine.

éRemo Restaurant & Bar is a trendy dining spot located in the Honeysuckle foreshore precinct, offering a delightful seafood experience with a variety of platters to choose from. The menu features an oven-baked whole roasted New Zealand snapper with Balkan-inspired red peppers, chilli flakes and kalamata olives, showcasing authentic and wholesome flavors. Additionally, the restaurant specializes in modern Italian cuisine with a contemporary twist by Chef Jayden Casinelli.
Absolutely perfect! One of the better places to eat in the Hunter. Great wine selection, food was amazing and service was great. We got the octopus, beetroot and pancetta risotto and pork cutlet in addition to some sides. I think very reasonably priced compared to other eateries in the hunter.

We were recommended this place by a local business not far away and we thought we would give it a go. It was our 36th Wedding Anniversary dinner and the place certainly had a great atmosphere and fell about it. It also has rooms there too in an excellent bush surrounded by some beautiful nature and views. To all the staff at this venue thank you for your hospitality and great service. I would definitely recommend going here as to two meal options ale-cart menu or degustation.

Firstly, I just want to say that Brendon was absolutely amazing, as were all of the staff! The service was warm, attentive, and made the whole experience feel special. Our water and wine glasses were never empty, which is something that’s so rare to find these days. The food was incredible, from the olives we were greeted with on arrival, to the beautiful gnocchi, and finally the steak cooked and salted to absolute perfection. Everything was flawless from start to finish, and I honestly couldn’t fault a thing. Highly recommend 🤗

We booked eremo for our anniversary, it was sublime. Closest to real Italian food compared to many other restaurants (I’m Italian 🇮🇹), gorgeous atmosphere, we got a complimentary glass of beautiful sparkling and “happy anniversary” written on our dessert. Portions were big! Super full! We totally recommend it.
Eraldo G — Google review
We ordered two mains and two sides. We didn't order much because we weren't very hungry. The waitress gave us an attitude, which made me pretty uncomfortable. I didn't say anything because I didn't want to ruin our holiday. When the dishes came, they were very small portions, and they were way too SALTY. The price is high, and getting this kind of service for the price is disappointing. Overall, the service and dishes were so bad. If I could, I would definitely mark 0 stars.
Penny — Google review
We chose to get the Avido package and we were not disappointed. Each dish was so nice, we really enjoyed the octopus and the gnocchi was a real treat . The beef cheeks were so soft and we just got a side of greens. Our waiter was Brendon and he was friendly and professional. You wont be disappointed with this dining experience.

It is our family’s first trip to Sydney and we were fortunate to choose éRemo for our first dinner in Hunter Valley. They have a fairly diverse bambini menu and all three kids enjoyed their choices - carbonara, fish&chips and Margherita pizza. The adults shared scallops and crispy potatoes for appetisers, gnocchi, grilled market fish and squid ink spaghetti for our mains which were all delicious as well! Service was prompt and attentive. With 2 glasses of Tyrrell’s wine the bill was $314. Would definitely recommend visitors to Hunter Valley to give this place a try!

Amazing lunch at eRemo with friends from Ireland. It was a cold winters day and the restaurant had their gorgeous fireplaces roaring. We had a table by the window with wonderful views and fantastic food. Between us we had a platter for 2, beef burger and pizza, all were amazing, especially the platter. Love the Lief products you use in the bathrooms. We will be back.

Nestled in the picturesque Hunter Valley, The Valley Brewhouse is a charming restored brick pub and hotel that offers an inviting atmosphere for both locals and travelers. With outdoor pools, a hot tub, and even a tennis court, it’s the perfect spot to unwind after exploring the region. This microbrewery takes pride in crafting local brews right on-site, featuring an impressive selection that includes everything from dark lagers to Belgian blondes and unique kettle sours infused with passion fruit.
Located at Wine Country Drive, Nulkaba, New South Wales, Australia 🇦🇺 This was a really lovely place to have lunch on our visit to the Hunter Valley. We were looking for somewhere to have a nice meal and literally came across this place by chance. I had the Honey BBQ Grilled Prawns and they were delicious 😋. I also shared a serving of the garlic bread with my friend and it was also amazing. It’s a really well designed establishment with the tables spread out, not squashed in. The large lounge was a big plus. I loved the actual brewery and the old kiln’s on the property. They add a great touch to the overall look of the place. The staff were so welcoming and friendly. Answering our questions with a smile. So helpful. The prices are very reasonable and the live entertainment in the forecourt was great. The menu had a wonderful selection of dishes to choose from, a bit extra than your typical bistro menu. There’s plenty of parking 🅿️ and very good toilet 🚻 facilities, including accessible toilets. I would definitely recommend visiting, a big thumbs up from me! 👍👍👍

Great location close to the wineries and nice food. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, moving tables and heaters around to make sure we were confortable. Massive playground for the kids and a large grass area. Live music. Good range of beers. Highly recommend!
Michael M — Google review
Terrific beer and good atmosphere with live music on the Friday night we were there, though one of the worst meals of my life. Eggplant lasagna was dried up, small and tasteless. The curry was watery and bland. Other meals for our group were overcooked.

We’re locals and often come here for beers, wine and food, but what we got last Saturday was honestly terrible. I don’t like leaving bad reviews (especially since I work in hospitality myself), but we invited our parents for lunch and it was such a let-down. It felt like we were served the last scraps before the kitchen closed. My mum paid $30 for a chicken breast that was barely 100g, with a salad that looked like a cow had chewed it first. A couple of chips with the burger, just thrown on the plate to make it look like more ,not good at all. And I won’t even get started on the burnt schnitzel… We also waited an hour for the food, which I can understand if you’re busy, but please get the kitchen in order 🤌🏽This was a really disappointing experience.

Monday - buy one, get one free. Great value. I took my friends here on Monday and we had wonderful food. Friendly service. Plenty of places to sit (inside or out), bottle of wine was a very reasonable price. Overall, highly recommended.

3.5 stars. We had a nice time here on a sunny afternoon in Winter. Prices are fair, $50 for a burger and tacos, $9 schooners. Outdoor play equipment for the kids. Only complaint is that they have a QR code for food but they don’t bring it out. Seems a bit odd to have it both ways, you order, you collect. Pay attention to your phone or your food will just sit there for 20 mins like ours did
Kealan T — Google review
No courtesy bus - webpage phone number wrong I saw their ad in a local tourist brochure advertising a courtesy bus “everyday”. Their website also advertised this. I called the number that is on the website but it was disconnected. I tried the number on Google but it put me through to an automated assistant who gave me the phone number very quickly including the international country code. It took 4 goes to write it down as the assistant couldn’t text it to me. When I finally spoke to someone they said that there was no courtesy bus tomorrow. I mentioned the problems with the website and they seemed to know about it. It was very frustrating. If you are going to advertise a service, you need to be able to deliver it. And you need to keep your website up to date.

Issac M — Google review
Perfect breakfast to finish up our weekend away. The salami and Napoletana jaffle was so delicious. Service was great and coffee was excellent. Highly recommend!

Definitely will be back for another Jaffle! Had the smoked Turkey and it did not disappoint - great snack to have in between the wine tours
