Scenic spot
Skinnarviksberget, located in Sodermalm, Stockholm, is a popular rocky hilltop destination offering stunning city and sunset views. It's the highest natural point in the city and a well-kept secret among locals. Accessible by taking the tunnelbana to Zinkensdamm and walking for about five minutes, it offers a more local feel compared to other viewpoints in Stockholm.
A wonderful spot to watch the sunset or just enjoy the city view during the day. I recommend bringing something comfortable to sit on if you plan to stay a while and have a snack — seating isn’t the coziest, but the view makes it worth it!
Olha M — Google review
A beautiful place from a height, where you can see the beautiful Old Town (Gamla Stan)of Stockholm. A place loved by locals for picnics and romantic meetings. A beautiful hill for photos with the city in the background.
Nataliia I — Google review
An amazing spot for the best views towards central Stockholm! There a plenty of places to hung around and relax with friends. Best time during sunset 🌇!
George T — Google review
For a desk rat this climb was pretty difficult. My knees were shanking but the view worth the effort. For a person that does a minimum or exercise per week this is very easy. You have 2 options to climb it: the big “stairs” carved in rock at the left or the stairs at the right which continues in a small alley that goes around. I took both, and unfortunately I started with the harder one 😂 but the view is magnificent! I got there at sunset and was really impressed.
Andreea D — Google review
Stunning view of the river, the town hall, and the centre. The sunset is charming on this rock. But consider arriving early and securing a spot 😉 The walk to this rock is also enjoyable - you walk along beautiful walking path.

Beautiful spot! If you are looking for a view of the city, this is the place. Bring some snacks, beers, or a bottle of wine, and you’ll have a perfect evening.

Garden
Historical landmark
Skansen is a renowned open-air living history museum in Sweden, featuring over 150 historic buildings from across the country and a replica of a 19th-century Swedish town. Visitors can interact with craftspeople dressed in period costumes as they demonstrate traditional trades such as glass-blowing and cobbling. The picturesque gardens and small zoo offer opportunities to see Nordic animals like otters, brown bears, and moose.
The Skansen Open-Air Museum in Stockholm is an absolute highlight and one of the most unique attractions in the city. It beautifully combines history, culture, and nature in one place, offering visitors a chance to step back in time and experience Swedish traditions in an authentic way. Walking through Skansen feels like traveling across Sweden’s past. The historic houses and farmsteads, each carefully relocated and restored, bring to life different regions and eras of the country. Costumed guides demonstrate traditional crafts, baking, and daily activities, making the experience both educational and entertaining. A special highlight is the zoo within Skansen, which focuses on Nordic animals. Seeing moose, bears, lynxes, reindeer, and even wolverines up close is unforgettable, especially for visitors who may not encounter these animals elsewhere. For families with children, the children’s zoo is a joy, offering a chance to meet farm animals and enjoy interactive activities. The location itself is stunning, with panoramic views over Stockholm and its waterways. Whether you’re interested in history, culture, wildlife, or simply a relaxing day outdoors, Skansen has something for everyone. In short, Skansen is more than a museum — it’s a living, breathing piece of Sweden. A perfect blend of cultural heritage and natural beauty, and a must-see for anyone visiting Stockholm.
Kalina M — Google review
This ws my first open air museum experience. I loved it. There were even people role playing from the era they belonged. The historical walk was an amazing experience. Although all the places wete not open, I could still get to experience few of the attractions. I personally was amazed by the glass making workshop. The zoo on the other side was also a fun experience. The ticket also included access to the match museum. It was worth the money and time. I ended up spending 3+ hours, yet I could not go to all the spots. Children's would love this place no doubt. During summer, this is the best place to come along with family. Online tickets are cheaper then buying on spot.
Ahnaf T — Google review
Loved our visit to Skansen! We went in early November and despite some attractions being shut, we still had a fantastic day. You really need a full days’ visit to see everything. You can walk around and see people dressed up in traditional clothing, some people will also interact with you or answer any questions you might have about their house. We saw the glassblowing and pottery demo and spoke to the nice man in the spice shop who made us feel like we were transported back in time to the 1800s. Don’t miss out on the English-speaking tour that starts by the top of the escalators as the guide takes you to parts of Skansen you don’t get access to on your own. The animals were a real highlight, we also loved seeing the smaller ones in the children’s zoo (bunnies, guinea pigs, mice). The seal talk is in Swedish but they do a demonstration of the keepers feeding the seals and that is also lovely to see. There was a lot to see and not enough time to go to the aquarium on our visit so we didn’t do that. There are some food stalls, a nice sit down restaurant and snacks being sold so we were able to have a lovely lunch inside. We booked our tickets online ahead of our visit.
Tanya G — Google review
We had a great time at Skansen. The old houses and farm buildings were fascinating to walk through – each one comes from a different part of Sweden, so you really get a feel for how people lived in the past. Seeing the Nordic animals was another highlight for us; lynx, wolverines, bears, and moose all in one place is pretty special. We visited as two adults, but it’s easy to see how much fun this would be for my kids too, with the animals, open-air history, and hands-on activities. There are also cafés and nice spots to take a break, so you can easily spend most of the day here. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Stockholm.
Joost M — Google review
Skansen Museum is an absolute must-visit in Stockholm! I loved exploring the open-air exhibits and getting a glimpse of how people lived in Sweden centuries ago. The traditional houses, workshops, and beautiful surroundings make the visit feel like stepping back in time. The animals were a lovely bonus, especially in such a well-kept environment. It’s a peaceful and charming place to spend a few hours, with great views and lots to learn. Highly recommended!
Btissam A — Google review
Skansen is an experience like no other - and I visited in the winter when not a lot was open! The place was still incredibly fascinating and many gems exist in this incredible open air museum. The exhibitions of different Swedish buildings was very interesting, with churches and other notable structures scattered around. Skansen is home to different animals, many being Nordic in origin. These were incredibly interesting to see and amazing that these can be visited without having to separately visit a zoo. Other exhibitions like the Sami structures were really great to see. Skansen has something for everyone!
Sam P — Google review
Really enjoyed Skansen museum. Was great to see local wild animals and different house buildings from Sweden. It would be great if more buildings were open to enter and explore but even without that it was a nice place to walk around. There were few cafes inside and some souvenir shops.

Nestled along the waterfront, Stockholm City Hall is a striking architectural gem completed in 1923, showcasing beautiful red brick and topped with a lantern-like tower. This iconic building is not only known for its stunning design but also as the venue for the prestigious annual Nobel Prize banquet. Visitors can wander through its grand ceremonial halls and council chamber, while those seeking breathtaking views can climb to the top of its tower for panoramic vistas of Stockholm's picturesque landscape.
Visited in September and definitely worth it. The garden is stunning as it has views of the water all around. It is important to mention that you need to book a tour in order to visit the inside of the City Hall, but it’s totally worth. The tour guide was very kind and answered every question thoroughly. If you come to Stockholm it is worth visiting
Andrea M — Google review
We were visiting the tower only and we enjoyed it a lot. It is very well kept, there is a lift for part of the stairs and there is a limited period of time you can spend upstairs as they form groups at certain intervals. I recommend buying tickets online as they dissappear fast.
Oana P — Google review
Very much worth a visit, especially for the building that looks like it’s been built in one style and then on the inside you realize it is an example of many different styles. Book in advance a guided tour! Very worthwhile!
Peter C — Google review
Stockholm City Hall is one of the most impressive landmarks in the city – an architectural masterpiece that combines history, culture, and breathtaking views. The building is majestic from the outside with its red bricks, tall tower, and elegant arches, while the interior is equally stunning with its richly decorated halls, especially the Golden Hall, where mosaics glitter and tell stories from Sweden’s history. The outdoor areas are just as remarkable – the beautiful courtyard and gardens, the statue of Birger Jarl (the city’s founder), and the scenic promenade along the water. From here you get some of the best views of Stockholm and the surrounding islands. The place feels both peaceful and inspiring, perfect for photography or simply enjoying a walk and the atmosphere. I highly recommend joining a guided tour – you’ll discover many fascinating stories about the building and the Nobel Prize banquets held here. Even if you don’t go inside, the complex and the waterfront are a must-see stop for every visitor to Stockholm. A true symbol of the city – beautiful, inspiring, and unforgettable! 🌟
Kalina M — Google review
We had such an amazing time visiting the Stockholm City Hall! The building is stunning, but what really made the visit special was our guide, Chris (Christopher). He was honestly phenomenal — super knowledgeable, funny, and so passionate about what he does. You could tell he truly loves sharing the history and stories behind the place, and Stockholm's/Sweden's history in general, which made the whole tour come alive. We all left saying how much we wished there were more guides like him! If you get the chance to visit, definitely do the English guided tour — it’s 100% worth it.
Amalie V — Google review
Stadstuset, is the city hall of Stockholm Municipality in Sweden. It is the venue of the Nobel Prize banquet and a major attraction for tourists. It is an example of Sweden's National Romantic style architecture, having a refined eclecticism, some elements of Venetian Gothic architecture, having blue decorated walls and made with almost 8 million red bricks.. In 1907, the work started being assembled, while the construction took twelve years, from 1911 to 1923, being finally inaugurated on 23rd of June 1923.
Neeru D — Google review
It is a truly amazing place to visit, with beauty both inside and out. As it is a building where people work, they have implemented strict rules, including being escorted by a local guide, which is a sensible measure for maintaining order. The interior is particularly lovely, featuring a variety of different rooms.
Tony C — Google review
A masterpiece of Swedish Architecture. This building is an amazing experience for all whom are interested in nordic architecture philosophy. The legacy of heritage in terms of spaces and finishings could be found here. Huge interior spaces, impressive dialogue between walls - floors and ceilings. Genuine local marble, beautiful textured brickwork. A landmark of Stockholm, the heart of Nobel Prize Ceremony, which shouldn't be missed from your itinerary.

Absolutely one of the best experiences in Stockholm! If you're a tourist and going to Stockholm I'll recommend this. Very affordable and a great short film about what we are about to see!

I visited SkyView in Stockholm and had a wonderful experience. The ride offers amazing panoramic views of the city — a great way to see Stockholm from above. My child really enjoyed it, making it a fun and family-friendly activity. The staff were very kind and helpful, and the waiting time was short, only about 5–10 minutes. Overall, a smooth and memorable visit!

The dome wasn't really tall, but still it offers a panoramic view of Stockholm. Stays at the top at around 10mins which is enough for taking photos of the view. It's located near the Avicii Arena. I'll suggest go there on a Sunny day instead as you could take better photos by then.
Möbius — Google review
We booked onine and we arrived earlier, and they let us go on as soon as possible in order for us not to wait. It was honestly very scary (mainly because of the strong wind) but in the end it was super safe and worth it What a view!
Tommaso R — Google review
A nice experience. You get a short video about the making of Globen before you enter Skyview. Its informative and good to know and watch. The excursion itself is ok (Unfortunatly I picked a day where it weather was dull). But that aside you do get decent views of Stockholm but giving its out the way of the city, Id say the views are of the subburbs of Stockholm. I used my GoCity pass so can't complain, its worth the experience, but there are better viewing area in the centre of Stockholm.

This is an excellent experience. While not as busy as the London eye, the pods give you a nice vista of Stockholm from the top of Avici Arena. The pods accommodate 12 people and there is ample room to take photos and videos.

Decided to go on a Monday. Perfect. Wasn't busy at all. Only want was the fact it only goes up every 30 minutes and we waited 15 upon arrival. Cool intro video to give history on its construction and amazing views. Would definitely do it again. Hubby is afraid of heights but LOVED it.

Skeppsholmsbron is a charming 19th-century iron bridge that beautifully connects the Blasieholmen peninsula to Skeppsholmen island in Stockholm. Adorned with gilded crowns along its railings, this iconic structure offers breathtaking views of Gamla Stan, the city's historic heart. A leisurely stroll across the bridge is a must for any traveler looking to capture stunning photographs, especially in the soft morning light when crowds are minimal.
The Skeppsholmsbron, famously known as the Crown Bridge, is a must-see when visiting Stockholm. The golden crowns along the bridge are perfect for photos, offering a blend of history and beauty. From the bridge, you get breathtaking views of the Royal Palace, Gamla Stan, and the sparkling waters of the archipelago. The best part is the crossing are single for vehicle, which means there is a traffic light and all vehicle from one side have to stop to allow to cross the vehicle from other side.
Aman J — Google review
A good viewpoint with a pleasant view of the city! The bridge's structure is interesting, but I couldn't quite understand the hype surrounding it. Maybe it's an important historical landmark for locals or those familiar with the city's history, but for a casual visitor, there's nothing that particularly stands out. It's a nice spot to stop and take photos.

The Royal Palace, also known as Kungliga Slottet, is a magnificent Baroque-style palace in Stockholm, Sweden. It serves as the official residence of the Swedish monarch and houses over 600 rooms along with three museums and a vast library. Visitors can opt for an admission fee that includes a guided tour to explore the grandeur of this symbol of Sweden's monarchy. The palace offers a glimpse into history and culture through its opulent Royal Apartments, Treasury, and Royal Chapel.
The Royal Palace is an absolute must-see in Stockholm. The state rooms are jaw-dropping — every ceiling, wall, and piece of furniture is so ornate and over the top, it’s like walking through a living piece of history. But the real surprise is the basement. It has a completely different vibe — less formal, more immersive — and might actually be the most interesting part of the entire tour. You get a closer look at artifacts, the palace’s foundation, and stories that feel more personal than grand. If you have limited time, don’t skip the lower levels. It’s the perfect contrast to the splendor upstairs and gives a fuller picture of the palace’s history.

I took a guided tour and it was very good! The history and original decor was beautiful! There is no natural light in many rooms as to protect the artwork, so it was a little difficult to get quality photos and see some of the fine detail. The tour was not too long, but the chapel in a separate section of the main entrance was amazing and free to enter!
Jake W — Google review
We didn’t have time to buy tickets for entry, but there is a small gift shop that you can visit without entering the palace. The items there make for lovely souvenirs, and the prices are very reasonable. The quality of the products is quite good, making it a worthwhile stop even if you can’t go inside the palace itself

Pretty expensive... But definitely worth the money if you enjoy history. We missed the noon guard change too so somehow try to make it, as it's something that will enhance the experience. It's interesting to visit the museum and be sure to occasionally look up at the ceiling for some beautiful designs. The palace was also pretty good and child-friendly :) gamla stan itself is a good place, tbh

Very nice to visit. You can see how the Swedish Royal would look like inside. Most of the area is blocked but there are enough for you to go and see. We didn't even have time/energy to visit the armory after 1 hours. Unless you want a guided tour or it is a special holiday the queue, there is no need to buy the ticket as there was no queue for us. Keep the ticket if you want to use the WC. The WC is outside in the into building and it need you to scan the ticket (or pay a few dollar). Stroller parking is a bit far away. The palace does not allow baby stroller inside and since there are a lot of walking and stairs, i would not recommend go there with a baby.

Visiting the Royal Palace in Stockholm was an absolute highlight of my trip! The sheer grandeur and elegance of the building left me in awe from the very first moment. With its impressive architecture and rich history, it truly feels like stepping into a living piece of Sweden’s royal heritage. Each room we entered told a story, from the beautifully adorned halls to the treasures in the Royal Apartments and the glittering Crown Jewels in the Treasury. I especially loved the changing of the guard outside, which added a touch of ceremony and tradition to the experience. What I appreciated most was how well everything is preserved and presented. It’s not just a “museum,” it’s a vibrant place where history and tradition are still alive today. If you’re visiting Stockholm, the Royal Palace is a must. Whether you love history, architecture, or just want to immerse yourself in the regal atmosphere of Sweden, this place is unforgettable.
Andrei M — Google review
The palace was beautiful and there was some interesting art and architecture, but it’s not really that different from any other European royal palace to make it worth the 200kr/$20 ticket. If you are really into royals, this might be a more exciting place to visit. Otherwise you might be better off enjoying other sights.
TJ — Google review
A must-visit in Stockholm! 🇸🇪 The Royal Palace is stunning—both in its architecture and historical richness. The guided tours are informative and give a deep insight into Sweden’s royal heritage. Don’t miss the Changing of the Guard ceremony—it’s a highlight! The treasury and royal apartments are beautifully preserved. Worth every minute, especially if you’re into history and culture.

It’s a beautiful area just a little outside the city center — definitely worth visiting if you’re interested in morning walks, seeing old boats and the shipyard, and spending a bit of time by the sea.

Compact Skeppsholmen island is known for its peaceful vibe and cultural attractions, including the Moderna Museet, which exhibits works by Picasso, and the Östasiatiska Museet with traditional Asian art. A walkway encircles the island and connects to the Skeppsholmen Bridge, which is embellished with a golden crown. The small, adjacent island of Kastellholmen has a quaint, turreted 19th-century castle.

A small island which you can easily get to by a ferry from Slussen or right in front of Grona Lund. You can also walk to the island from the bridge near Kungsträdgården. It's great to have a walk there and you can easily loop around the island within am hour. Great place to relax and walk your dog. There's also a hotel there in case you want to stay there overnight.

Skeppsholmen is the most peaceful island in Stockholm. Walking around, you really feel like you’ve stepped away from the city’s hustle and bustle, and it gives such a calming experience. Skeppsholmen is such a serene vantage point in Stockholm — as you walk along the shore, you’re rewarded with sweeping views of Gamla Stan, Södermalm, Djurgården, and the elegant waterfront of Östermalm. The quiet waters, boats drifting by, and the silhouette of Kastellholmen with its castle (Kastellet) all add up to a truly calming panorama. A perfect place for slowing down and enjoying the city from a distance.

Kungsträdgården is a central park in the city that offers a variety of activities throughout the year. In winter, it becomes an ice rink and hosts concerts and events. The area also features art galleries, restaurants, and cafes for visitors to enjoy. Additionally, the park is conveniently located near shopping areas such as NK and Ahlens shopping mall.
Fantastic park with a pleasant view , green all around and covered with beautiful flowers. When I visited the atmosphere was awesome and pleasant. Must visit the park in Stockholm and sit and enjoy the beautiful place. Usually not so crowded and peaceful place.

There’s always some kind of event happening here in every season. In spring, you can see the most beautiful cherry blossoms in the city. In summer, you can sit back and relax by the fountain in the warm weather, and enjoy all the lively summer concerts hosted here. During winter, there’s a short but charming Christmas market and a large ice skating rink where you can skate to your heart’s content.

Kunstradgarden, meaning Royal Gardens, is a big park in the very center. Once, there was also a Royal Palace here, which burned down in fire in 17 c, but the gardens remained. In the center is a big fountain and in the northern part nice pond, serving as a skating rink in winter. Several food/drinks kiosks around to cool down on one of many benches around

I've had the pleasure of visiting this place twice so far—once in the heart of winter and again during the enchanting cherry blossom season in spring. Words truly fall short when trying to capture the beauty and vibrancy of this destination. In winter, the ice skating rink adds a magical charm, bustling with people of all ages gliding across the ice. Spring transforms the area into a colorful wonderland, thanks to the breathtaking cherry blossoms. Despite the crowds, the atmosphere remains delightful and full of life. I can’t wait to return in summer and fall to experience its charm in every season.

Highly recommend this cultural center if you are in Stockholm! Easily accessible by public transit. Tons to see around it and inside! The tall structure in the plaza will light up and change colors after dark. There are plenty food and drink in the building. The highlight for me was the comic book library on the 2nd floor and food court on the top floor with views!

I had the opportunity to check out the Kulturhuset cultural center while visiting Stockholm for a few days. This cultural center has a lot to do in it and there is something here for people of all ages. Some of the things it has are an art gallery,a public library and a children’s library,a place to play chess and numerous cafes and or restaurants just to name a few of the things here. We ended up mostly checking out the public library and the cafe on the top level. The cafe on the top level has a nice view of the plaza and of the fountain. It also has a patio with a panoramic view. There is nice views from all levels of the cultural center. I definitely recommend at least checking it out if if you don’t end up spending a lot of time here.

Nestled in the charming garden of the Finnish Church, Iron Boy, or Jarnpojke, is a delightful little statue that stands at just 15 centimeters tall. Often overlooked by tourists exploring Gamla Stan, this tiny figure has become a beloved local icon. Visitors frequently leave gifts and tokens for Iron Boy, adorning him with hats and scarves during the colder months.
Very cute mini statue. In a small garden. Someone picked the flowers in front of them and people decorated them. A really cute little statue.

The cutest tiny statue I have ever seen. People left him presents. Not sure of the history but we had fun walking around to find him. He is very close to Stortoget, the museum of Nobel Prize, Cathedral and Palace. This is free to see
Chris — Google review
This beautiful piece of artwork is a sight to behold, even though I had anticipated a larger one. Surprisingly, it’s the smallest statue in all of Sweden. However, the journey to find him is worth it if you’re visiting Stockholm. And don’t forget to make a wish!
Foodie T — Google review
Järnpojken, also known as Iron Boy or The Boy Looking at the Moon, is one of the most charming and symbolic statues in Stockholm. Although it's only 15 cm tall, it enjoys enormous affection from both locals and tourists. It stands a bit hidden in a small courtyard near Storkyrkan (Stockholm Cathedral), which gives it a kind of magical character. It was created by Liss Eriksson in 1967 and has since gained an almost legendary status. People often leave coins by the statue for good luck, and in winter, it's sometimes dressed with tiny hats and scarves. It might seem like a small thing — a little figure sitting alone on a stone — yet it moves people, because it stirs simple, human emotions: melancholy, tenderness, reflection on loneliness, and hope. If you touch Iron Boy’s head or leave a coin beside him, it will bring you good luck. That’s why you’ll often see coins left by visitors, and in winter, locals sometimes dress him in tiny hats and scarves to keep him warm — a small, heartwarming city tradition.
Łukasz K — Google review
Make sure you take gifts for him…. He may appear sweet & innocent at first, but if you fail to leave a sweet, a coin, a new accessory or amusement for him, he will visit you while you are sleeping and reveal his iron scissor hands and take his revenge.
Barbara E — Google review
Very cute and small statue under the tree! Some people leave coins here and make a wish. Some people rub its head for good luck. I think it’s just adorable to see a little figure sitting under the tree and contemplating life.
Pui C — Google review

The smallest statue in Stockholm and so poignant. Many people leave money and a local order of nuns often dress him or decorate him. The little square he is in is also delightful. At night he is illuminated by a light representing the moon.

One of Stockholm’s most recognizable public squares, right in the heart of the city. It’s a lively, modern space surrounded by shops, offices, and cultural venues. The large fountain and glass obelisk in the center are eye catching, especially when lit up at night. Perched high above the harbor, Gondolen is a sophisticated fine-dining establishment offering breathtaking city views. The restaurant's unique feature is its extension across the road on the 11th floor, providing an exceptional dining experience with panoramic vistas. Renowned for its impeccable service, Gondolen has recently undergone a modern redesign while maintaining its iconic view. The menu showcases classic French cuisine infused with Nordic ingredients and traditions.
Dining at Gondolen is nothing short of a treat. Suspended above the city with breathtaking panoramic views of Stockholm’s skyline and waterways, the setting alone is worth the visit. Whether you're enjoying a sunset dinner or a twinkling nightscape, the atmosphere is elegant without being stiff, and perfect for a special evening. The food? Absolutely superb. Every dish—from the perfectly seared fish to the seasonal starters—showcases attention to detail and Swedish culinary finesse. The staff were knowledgeable, attentive, and made excellent wine pairing recommendations that really elevated the meal. That said, it is on the pricier side. While the quality and ambiance justify the cost to a large extent, it’s definitely a place you go to indulge rather than for a casual night out. If you're looking to celebrate something meaningful or simply want to experience Stockholm from above with an exquisite meal, Gondolen won’t disappoint—as long as you’re prepared for the bill at the end.

The restaurant has been recently renewed and the view is stunning, being there at sunset with guests is amazing. Jazz trio played nonstop and music was great. Food is good, but service was very poor.. Two hours between the order and when we received our main course. After we finished we asked for the bill without ordering anything further because we were too afraid to order dessert or coffee as we didn’t want to spend one more hour sit and wait like we did before. Not even bread or grissini was served until we received the starters. And then we waited another hour to get the main course… The 100+ Eur bottle hasn’t been opened in front of the table but it came already opened at the table…

Really unique restaurant, mainly due to its location, on the 11th floor of the Katarinahissen. Food is also excellent with a variety of a la carte choices or menus to choose. Prices are not that high, considering that you are in Stockholm. I would definitely visit again.

The food is really delicious. The restaurant could make much more in terms of style. Prices are high and then the expectations are allowed to be high as well. My wife had an entry with truffel. It was served like the musli at home. Wine came too late, presented like a bottle of water. First dish was already on the table before the wine was served. There were no hors d‘oeuvre. Service is young, motivated but not trained. Ambiente is super. All in all: not worth to go there. Price / value is not in a balance. They could do better.

BEWARE! This is a seemingly beautiful park with an excellent view and plenty of lawn space + trees to relax on. Until I was interrogated and frisked by a squad of three plain clothes police officers. They clearly suspected me of either consuming, dealing, or purchasing narcotics. Sober, the only thing I did to trigger the investigation was lean against a tree with warm clothing (hoodie) to protect from the breeze and sunglasses + beanie cap to protect my face from the sun. It would have been a nice sunny day at a park if I wasn't physically and psychologically violated for being brown and chill. Americans and people of color, BEWARE!

The view from the top is always beautiful, well, most of the time. In this case, it’s true. Stockholm is home to another gem that offers a breathtaking panoramic view from the top. Ivar Lo's Park, named after the author Ivar Lo-Johansson, is a small but popular park located on the heights of Sodermalm in Stockholm. The grassy slope below offers a panoramic view of Gamla Stan, Stadshuset, and Lake Malaren, making it an ideal picnic spot.
Breathtaking view of Stockholm including city hall, Gamla Stan and cathedral from this tiny rather unknown spot. Stumbled across this on the last day of Stockholm visit. I had the opportunity to check out Ivar Lo’s Park a little while ago while visiting Stockholm. Ivar Lo's Park has a breathtaking and relaxing viewpoint in Stockholm. It's in a beautiful spot and offers stunning views of the city from up there. You can see all of Stockholm's famous landmarks, charming buildings, and the surrounding waters. The park has well-kept paths and lots of benches to sit down making it a peaceful place to relax and enjoy the incredible scenery. visiting Ivar Lo's Park is a captivating experience that both locals and tourists should enjoy or at least check out to truly appreciate Stockholm's beauty.I only had a few minutes to check this park out but I can only imagine what the views from the view point here are at any time of day at any time of year and also imagine some stunning sunsets. If I am back in Stockholm I would definitely come back here and spend more time here.

Park
Vanadislunden is a picturesque urban park located in the Vasastan neighborhood of Stockholm. It was built on the site of an early 20th-century water reservoir and offers stunning views of the city's rooftops. The park features multiple playgrounds for children, a Lutheran church, statues, and even a dog playground. Visitors can also enjoy a leisurely stroll through the expansive green space or find a peaceful spot under the shade of trees.
Nice place, a nice view. Beautiful sunset. A very good place to lie down on the grass or just stare down at nothing while thinking about nothing.
Maulida R — Google review
Excellent view of Stockholm.. nice serene place, only it's a bit windy.
Sanjay K — Google review
Lovely park in the middle of Stockholm, perfect to get a nice view of the city. You'll find playgrounds for the kids, a Lutheran church, a water reservoir, statues and a dog playground. In the summer it might be a great spot for a picnic (I don't know since I went in winter). If the snow starts to melt it can get muddy and you have to walk carefully, also bring good shoes so you don't slip easily. It's also a good idea to visit on a clear day, as you'll be able to enjoy the view a bit more.
Ana V — Google review
Nice park, very nice view to the city, but prepare your self for small climb. Very beautiful church on the way, absolutely worth it.
Mydeno L — Google review
Excellent park with just the right location - very close to Main Street and bus stop. Had very good facilities for children like sand pit, little excavator, slides et For adults- there’s exercise place right besides the park. Just right for young toddlers and children about 10-12 years.
Chetan — Google review
This park is amazing at both day and night. The small mountain makes the place separated from the town and gives an beautiful view of the surround. If you are in Stockholm must visit this place. Good place for jogging and exercise too.
Kushani A — Google review
This is a very big park in the Vasastan district. There is an outdoor pool and lots of playgrounds for children. This generous green area offers a calm and relaxed environment. Many people come here for picnics, to take a sunbathe or play games, work out or just take a walk and enjoy the fresh air in the middle of the city.
I Q — Google review
I actually regret only going there on September, if I knew this beautiful park exist I would have come every week during the summer. The park is elevated so you can sit relaxed on the grass and see Vasastan from above. It also has a really interesting structure, a water reservoir, but it looks like some type of fortress! Only downside is, the public toilet is UNSUSABLE, it’s the worse public toilet I’ve encountered in Stockholm park. Other than that, everything was beautiful.

Short walk to see the magnificent views of Stockholm’s old town and the surrounding areas. Definitely worth the visit in a sunny day. It can get windy, so make sure bring a jacket with you.

Monteliusvägen is a captivating, narrow promenade perched on the edge of Södermalm in Stockholm. Stretching roughly 500 meters, it delivers panoramic vistas of Lake Mälaren, Stockholm City Hall, Riddarholmen, and Gamla Stan—especially enchanting during sunset. The pathway is lined with charming historic houses and lush greenery, creating a peaceful and romantic atmosphere despite its central location. Benches along the way invite lingering, quiet contemplation, while amateur and professional photographers alike flock here for its quintessential views. Whether you’re seeking a scenic stroll, a moment of tranquility, or a perfect backdrop for memorable photos, Monteliusvägen delivers a timeless Stockholm experience.

This is a great scenic spot with panoramic views of the city of Stockholm from here. We only spent a few minutes here but I could imagine how some people could spend hours here. There is also many benches here to sit relax and take in the views from here. When we were here there were quite a few people but there were still benches too sit down and there lots of people taking photos. I would definitely come back here again if in Stockholm again. If I lived here I could see my self coming here often.

(Translated by Google) A small but interesting museum if you have seen the Vikings, Valhalla and Last of Kingdom series, because it is about this. For the price of the ticket it's fine, not like the ABBA museum, but that's it, it's a bit of a pain to know why these series exist and where the story comes from. Recommended as such, it is not essential if you have little time to see Stockholm.

Gåstorget, located in the heart of Gamla Stan, is a charming town square surrounded by picturesque colorful buildings that offer an iconic view of Stockholm's old town. The area is full of narrow streets that evoke the city's past and provide a glimpse into its roots. It's a popular tourist destination with attractions such as the fabulous palace and a Christmas market during winter at Stortorget, the main square nearby.
Gamla Stan is Stockholm's old town. Here you can see some very beautiful (colorful) buildings and narrow streets. If you're in Stockholm, you should definitely visit  Gamla Stan. Here you visit some of the most popular tourist attractions too. The old town of Stockholm is perfect for walks during the day and night. Most importantly, it feels very safe. Island
Kastellholmen, located in the heart of Stockholm, along with Skeppsholmen, offers a serene escape from the city's hustle and bustle. The islands provide stunning panoramic views of Strandvagen, Djurgarden, Sodermalm, and Gamla Stan. Visitors can admire various boats including the af Chapman sailing ship turned hostel and 19th-century wooden boats.
Kastellholmen via Skeppsholmen are one of my favorite walks in down-town Stockholm. If you follow the edge of of Skeppsholmen and Kastellhollmen this walk is about 3000 steps and takes just over 20 minutes; if prefer to walk anti clockwise, starting with walking past the iron sailing ship af Chapman. Kastellhomen also houses two of my favorite buildings in Stockholm "Kastellet" (a small citadel) and "Skridskopaviljongen" Kastellet was built in 1848 and is not open for the public. But the view from the base of the tower is still brilliant with boats and the rides at Grönalund, Skridskopaviljongen was built as the club house for the Royal Swedish Yacht Club and the Royal Swedish Skating Club in 1882; but is today used for private events. One of the nice thing with Kastellholmen is that you can be almost alone out here, even in the middle of the summer. Then on the way back, I always enjoy watching the house boats along the "north" side of Skeppsholmen.
Magnus S — Google review
Take a walk to Kastellholmen and enjoy the views of several of the islands which make up central Stockholm. Lovely on a sunny day, both in wintertime and summertime. Combine with visiting the museums on Skeppsholmen.

Kastellholmen is an islet in central Stockholm. It belongs to the district Skeppsholmen with which it has a bridge connection via Kastellholmsbron. It is a nice walking area with nice views. On the islet there are some residential buildings, warehouse buildings, a skate pavilion, and Kastellet from 1848.
