Bradleys Head is a picturesque spot in Sydney that offers stunning views of the city's iconic landmarks, including the Opera House and Harbour Bridge. The concrete jetty, once overlooked, provides a unique perspective right in the middle of the harbor. The Booraghee Amphitheatre at Bradleys Head is an ideal place to relax and take in the bustling harbor life.
Beautiful park, great views of Sydney harbour and many historical structures to look at. Make sure you bring a torch with you, there are underground soldier barricks to see, but too dark without a torch. Bradley's Head is part of the Sydney Harbour National Park and the nature walks are spectacular.
Danny F — Google review
Great walk. There's a beach on Fishing Spot to sit and have lunch and take in the harbour views. Only down side many steps are deep and uneven. Could do with more hand rails and longer to match last step.
Kathy D — Google review
Great spot along the harbour with specialty walking tracks and views of the water. I went early one Sunday morning and it was freezing on one side of the point with the winds and shade, and glorious on the other side with a quiet beach and sun! Hardly any ppl when I went. Would be nice anytime of year to explore, enjoy a walk with friends or a picnic.
Katrina C — Google review
Bradley's Head is renowned for its stunning views of the Sydney Harbour, the Sydney Opera House, and the Sydney Harbour Bridge. It offers a perfect vantage point to capture the beauty of Sydney's iconic landmarks. One of the key attractions at Bradley's Head is the historic mast and signal station, which adds a touch of maritime history to the area. The area also has picnic facilities, making it an excellent spot for a relaxed day out with family and friends. The blend of natural beauty, historical significance, and recreational amenities makes Bradley's Head a versatile destination suitable for various visitors. Limited on-site parking (8–10 spaces, $8 for the day) is available, with additional options nearby and at Taronga Zoo. Consider using the ferry or bus stop at the Taronga Zoo for convenience.
Sanjay P — Google review
Beautiful vantage point for a picnic, fishing or watching the fireworks looking back towards the city and Harbour Bridge.

What a beautiful sunset! So calm and peaceful place. Go with friends or loved ones, you will definitely have quality time here. The sydney view from here is just amazing.
Krishna S — Google review
Good place to sun bath and relax. The beach is very isolated and quiet. There is a scenic view of the city and manly. The water is a little dirty with some plastics and litters. Its only good for sunbathing but not for swimming.
Chris S — Google review
An amazing spot to catch the sunset over the harbour bridge and opera house! Grab a few mates and a picnic and watch the city light up as the sunsets or propose to your special someone with a stunning background. Whatever the occasion Bradleys head won't be a disappointment. You could also combine it with a visit to Toranga Zoo, which is a short walk away. Catch the ferry to the zoo from Circular Quay and watch the sunset from Bradleys Head. Best way to spend the day on the Northern shore!

Observatory Hill, nestled in the heart of Sydney, is a hidden gem for witnessing breathtaking sunsets. The elevated vantage point provides stunning views of the city skyline and harbor against the colorful evening sky. Despite its proximity to the Overseas Passenger Cruise Terminal, it remains relatively undiscovered by tourists.
Observatory Hill in Sydney❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥 is an incredible spot, and it’s especially amazing for watching events like the Australia Day celebrations! The location is perfect, offering breathtaking views of the city and harbor. It’s one of those places where you can truly soak in the beauty of Sydney. What makes Observatory Hill even better is how comfortable it is for enjoying an event. There’s plenty of space to relax, and the atmosphere is calm yet vibrant during celebrations. It feels like the best-kept secret for catching all the action without the overwhelming crowds. If you’re looking for the ideal place to enjoy Australia Day or just to relax with stunning views, Observatory Hill is a must-visit. Highly recommended for both locals and visitors!

The Million-Dollar View Hill: Sydney’s Most Romantic Picnic & Stargazing Spot I’m dropping the pin on a stunning viewpoint where locals and travelers flock to for picnics and watching the gorgeous sunset against Sydney, Australia’s magnificent skyline. Get ready for spectacular panoramic views from one of the city's highest and most beautiful spots! You’ll get crystal-clear sights of Sydney Harbour, the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge, and the Opera House. This tranquil hill is not just a beautiful public park; it’s also home to the Sydney Observatory. This historic Italianate building now functions as an Astronomy Museum, where you can step inside and see the oldest telescope in Australia! It’s super easy to visit this beautiful spot both for a sunrise stroll and a sunset picnic. Perched just above The Rocks district, you can easily walk here from Circular Quay or the nearest train station. I highly recommend everyone visiting Sydney come check out this hidden gem!

This is a must stop if you're visiting Sydney. I recommend going at sunset. Bring a snack, sit on the hill, and watch the sunset over the bay and bridge. Watch the boats and people go by. It's usually a bit crowded so be prepared to deal with that. Recommend bringing a beverage and some chicken flavored crisps to top off the experience!
Sara H — Google review
Great place to see a sunset while also having views of the harbor bridge if you don’t mind the Asian tourists taking up every square centimeter of the lawn whilst doing whole photo shoots.
Tim F — Google review
Absolutely stunning spot! Observatory Hill offers some of the best panoramic views of Sydney Harbour and the Harbour Bridge. The park is peaceful and well maintained perfect for a picnic, a walk, or just relaxing and taking in the scenery. A fantastic photo spot, especially at sunset. Highly recommend visiting if you’re in Sydney!

Nestled in the picturesque landscape of Sydney, Mrs Macquarie's Chair is a stunning sandstone bench that dates back to 1810. Carved by convicts for Elizabeth Macquarie, the wife of New South Wales' Governor, this iconic spot offers breathtaking views of Sydney Harbour. Today, it stands as one of the city's most beloved landmarks and an ideal location for capturing memorable photographs featuring the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge.
Incredible spot for sunset views over Sydney Harbour — perfect view of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge. A must-visit for peaceful vibes and amazing photos!
Kishore S — Google review
One of the best view point of Sydney to see panoramic view of all iconic location in one place. Surrounded by beautiful trees and green park, good for family and kids to stay and join special time together. Ample space for car park.
Niyom K — Google review
Really lovely place for a walk. The park is huge with plenty of open space and nice, scenic paths that are calm and peaceful. It never feels too busy, which makes it perfect if you’re looking to relax and enjoy nature. There’s loads of parking available right nearby, so it’s easy to get in and out without hassle. A great spot to clear your head, go for a stroll, or just spend time outdoors. Definitely worth a visit!
Steward W — Google review
As suggested, this is one of the best place to see sunset with Sydney icons in the frame: the Opera House and Bridge. Around this time a lot of people wandering around, chilling out or taking photos. It is close to Botanic Garden so can end up sitting here relaxing at the end of the trip before leaving. This is also popular place among photographers with great frame: both sunset, blue hours or night long exposure.
Khanh T — Google review
Beautiful place in the corner of the Botanic Gardens. Easy to find and once there you get some breathtaking views. Great day out for the family.
Dexter M — Google review
ICONIC PLACE What better place to watch the sunset? This of course, close to the city but not so close, is a place surrounded by the water of the Pacific Ocean and the green lung that delivers one of the best spots in Sydney in my opinion. We have nearby toilets, water fountains, a wide coastal street for those who love to walk, run or just lie on the grass.
Nicole A — Google review
Walking along the river in the garden to Mrs.Macquarie’s Chair was my best experience in Sydney. The scenery was amazingly spectacular overlooking the Harbor Bridge, Sydney Opera House and the Rock. The gardens were so pretty and peaceful.
Prisana — Google review
The chair itself is actually a little hidden away around the corner, so it's recommended to enjoy a better view closer to the edge facing the Opera House.

Barangaroo Reserve is a stunning waterfront park located on the western edge of Sydney's CBD. This 14-acre reserve offers walking and cycling paths, lush green spaces, and scenic views of the harbor. It seamlessly blends modern design with indigenous history, making it a must-visit destination in Sydney. Named after an influential indigenous woman, Barangaroo Reserve hosts various cultural events such as outdoor concerts, art installations, and festivals that celebrate Sydney's rich heritage.
We only went here for vivid Sydney at night so take this with a grain of salt. But we loved the exhibits over here! The lit orb structures were our absolute favorite! The swans on the pond were interesting too but not as entertaining. The orb display was set to music that just made it feel tingly and awesome!
Emily T — Google review
Barangaroo Reserve is a stunning waterfront park with breathtaking views of Sydney Harbour. The walking paths are peaceful, and the landscape design blends beautifully with nature. The highlight is the sunset—absolutely magical as the sky glows over the water and city skyline. Perfect for an evening stroll or picnic. A must-visit spot for nature and view lovers!
Kia K — Google review
Barangaroo is a refreshing mix of nature, architecture, and dining by the water. The harbor views are stunning, especially from Barangaroo Reserve, which is beautifully landscaped and great for walking, jogging, or simply relaxing. It’s also a popular spot for sunsets and photo ops. The restaurants and cafes are top-notch — perfect for brunch, after-work drinks, or date nights. There’s a modern, upscale vibe throughout the precinct, and it connects easily to Circular Quay and Darling Harbour. That said, a few things hold it back from 5 stars: • Can feel a bit commercial or sterile in some areas — lots of office buildings and new developments, which sometimes makes it feel more like a business zone than a cultural hub. • Parking is expensive and limited, so public transport is your best bet. • Not much shade in some parts of the reserve, so it gets hot during peak sun hours. Still, it’s a great addition to Sydney — clean, accessible, and a nice mix of city energy and green space. Worth visiting, especially for locals looking for a stylish spot to unwind.
William D — Google review
Barangaroo Reserve has become one of my favourite spots in the city. It’s hard to believe a place this peaceful exists right next to the CBD. The views over the harbour are absolutely stunning, and it’s such a great place to go for a walk, whether you’re on your own, with family, your partner, or walking the dog. The landscaping blends in so well with the harbour, and there’s a real sense of space and calm. It’s the kind of spot that makes you slow down and take it all in. A beautiful addition to Sydney, and one that actually adds something meaningful to the city.
Louie O — Google review
Beautiful place!! I wasn’t really aware that this place existed before I came here and I was so glad to have found it!! Lovely place to have a walk or just relax as it’s a small break from the city with the nature and the sea around. I would definitely recommend going here to see.
Frida H — Google review
This place is amazing. Great views of the harbour bridge and the harbour as well as grass areas for leisurely sport, paths for walks and access to transport such as the metro. Great for a sunset watch or just a meeting with friends. Highly recommend having a look!
Evan G — Google review
A nice place to walk and explore, featuring both plain grassed areas as well as a bushland section. Also a very nice riverside walk along the outside. Incredibly beautiful to visit in the evening!
Perth2Go A — Google review
Barangaroo Reserve is one of those places that wins you over the moment the harbour comes into view. The headland is stitched together with layered sandstone blocks and native plantings, so it feels both sculpted and natural. You can wander along curved paths that hug the water, climb gently to the lawned terraces, then stop and watch ferries cross the frame of the Harbour Bridge. Sit on the honey coloured rock steps and you get that salty breeze and a close look at the textures in the stone, while the city skyline rises just behind you. It is an easy spot to roam without a plan. Follow the foreshore on Wulugul Walk for changing angles of the bridge and Goat Island, then loop back through the higher paths for long views toward Balmain and the North Shore. Families gravitate to the lawns for picnics and cartwheels, runners use the smooth paths, and there are plenty of small nooks where you can tuck away with a book. If The Cutaway happens to be open for an exhibition, duck inside for a quick look, the scale of the space is a surprise. Late afternoon is special. The light softens over the water, the stone warms in colour and the whole headland takes on a relaxed, golden look that makes you want to linger. Getting here is simple and adds to the appeal. Wynyard Walk brings you out a few minutes from the reserve, and the nearby wharf makes a ferry arrival feel like part of the outing. Paths are mostly step free with gentle gradients, though there are stair runs if you feel like a short climb. Shade comes and goes, so a hat and water bottle make life easier on bright days. Bring a picnic rug, arrive an hour before sunset, and let the harbour put on a show while the city hums just out of earshot.

Robertson Park is a popular tourist spot located in the heart of Watsons Bay, offering stunning views of Sydney's CBD skyline and the bay. The park features secluded beaches, charming cafes, and a playground for families to enjoy. Visitors can take leisurely walks along the water's edge, watch the sunset over anchored vessels, or embark on scenic coastal walks like the Bondi to Manly Walk or Federation Cliff Walk.
Beautiful location with scenic views on the cliff edges facing Tasman Sea. Walking distance from Watson's Bay ferry wharf. Lovely place to be around, lots of visitors come in this place by cruises, buses or cars. Stunning coastal views from one side and you can also see the city in the distance. This park has several beautiful walking trails.
Firoz A — Google review
This is such a lovely park with views of the city as you walk towards the water. After doing The Gap cliff walk, you can grab a coffee or ice cream at a number of places nearby and sit on the grass, the beach front, the bandstand or one of many benches in the park. Pets on lead allowed and a popular playground for kids (up to 10 years IMO). There's also a toilet block in the park. Its situated right beside the ferry stop, bus stops or you can go by car as there is heaps of street parking (2/3 hours) along with a carpark with the same time limits. Just up the road is a massive off-lead park for dogs near the lighthouse where in season is a great whale-watching spot.
Liv N — Google review
Lush green Park overlooking the Watsons Bay wharf and the beach adjoining the wharf. A number of picnic spots available. Great scenery on a sunny day. A dog friendly park.

Located on Military Road, Watsons Bay, New South Wales, Australia 🇦🇺 This is a great park right on the Sydney Harbour with stunning views all the way to the city. It leads from the steps up to the Gap Lookout down to the Watsons Bay Ferry ⛴️ Wharf. You can easily get here by public transportation ie the Ferry from Circular Quay or bus 🚌. When you get to the wharf, there’s a great walking track along the water. The park has ample seating located around it which is convenient if you wanted to bring a picnic lunch or get takeout from Doyles on the Wharf or Watson’s. There’s a great little children’s playground which is going to be getting an update soon. There’s also good toilet facilities. Even though it was overcast today, it was still a really nice park to visit. Would definitely recommend a visit. Thumbs up 👍👍

Perfect area for a picnics and family friendly gatherings. Nice views of the water and city. Surrounded by various venues for food and drinks if you want to extend into a long luncheon. Street parking can be tight on weekends and public holidays. Public transport access via Watson Bay ferry wharf.
Khoi N — Google review
Confusing that some reviews say the park is dog friendly while the sign clearly states dogs are prohibited at all times. Guess the local old crowd is rich enough to have their own private spotless lawns for their dogs anyway.
Horton Q — Google review
Lovely spot with good sized park and large shady trees. The bay water is calm so a great spot for swimming. Limited street parking is available but can be tricky. The Watsons Bay Hotel has great take away options to enjoy in the park including outstanding fish and chips and fish burgers. Public toilets are available in the park

Pleasant expanse of green, right next to the water. Enjoy a picnic! 🍭 Small, fenced-in playground ⛴️ Adjoining the Watsons Bay ferry stop 🚻 Toilets up the back, next to the gazebo ❗ Don't miss heading out the back and having a peek at The Gap! Some of the best views in Sydney!

East Manly Cove Beach, located just 100 meters from Manly Wharf, is a beautiful harborside beach that offers a perfect setting for a relaxing summer evening. With its clean and spacious shoreline, it's an ideal spot for swimming and unwinding. The water quality is exceptional, making it suitable for both adults and children. This less crowded beach provides a tranquil environment with smaller waves compared to Manly Beach.
A secluded beach near Manly with calm waters and stunning views of Sydney Harbour. Unlike the busy main beaches, it’s peaceful and perfect for a relaxing swim or a quiet picnic. If you’re lucky, you might spot a penguin!
Renegade G — Google review
More than just a few micro-plastic pieces, some are huge! From a distance the beach seems nice and comfy, but step closer and what a mess. So bad that school trips come to the beach to see how toxic plastic destroys the environment, in and out of the water. We're doomed! And the marine life too 😭
Alan W — Google review
Amazing vistas at sunset. Parking is all night from 6pm and 2p before that. Highly recommend visiting around sunset and grabbing a drink or a bite to eat at the wharf

East Manly Cove Beach is a true coastal paradise! beautiful beach! 👉🏼it’s a nice beach to visit once it’s sunset & have a calm walk along the beach. there is always people enjoy a picnic in the late evening summer weather & you can lay on the grass or sit with a chair if the sand texture is not your thing! 😹 the initial show for families wanting a safer option is best to go for that initial time slot.✴️ earlier night out, with kids is going to be crowded, i’d rather a bit of a crowd, than 5 out of 5, intoxicated adults likely also having plans/already influenced under other A class chems, so go to start show, 21:00/21:30.. 🌬️ roughly lasts 15 - 20 minutes of consistently. the later show goes for about 30 minutes if i remember correctly or it could be 45 minutes to an hour now seeing as it was a long time since i saw them here. 🤦🏼 awesome stuff as always is when in Sydney on NYE! 🐬 best to watch them on a nice warm NYE night out! 🙀 year 2016, transitioning into a new year, 2017! 🤞🏼quite busy, keep mind, if seeing both, 22:00 firework, at 00:00, not nearly as busy, this hr. likely of many families, & younger child’s. predominantly reasoning for 22:00 is so children, won’t not miss out! 🤗 I’m suggesting to get there earlier for a better advantage of viewing. the more closer to the water, the better the experience will be for all. top spot, location to watch Fireworks!🩷👏🏼

Just 100 metres from Manly Wharf is East Manly Cove Beach with West Manly Cove Beach on the other side of the wharf. It is such a beautiful harbourside beach in Manly. Awesome at Low tide as there is just so much space on the beach to relax. The water quality is the best I have seen it in 30 plus years so is perfect for swimming. Great beach when there is a easterly or north easterly wind at Manly Beach as it is so protected. Good spot for the Kids to play as the water is pretty shallow at low tide. The lovely grassed area (the office) above and under the pine trees is being fixed up and will be amazing once finished. Toilet block is at the opposite end to Manly Wharf and is pretty dismal but will be rebuilt early next year. If your there in the early evening you can watch the sunset over Sydney Harbour. #LetsGuide #sunsetviews #manly #theoffice #sydneyharbour
Chris A — Google review
Situated just 100 meters from Manly Wharf, East Manly Cove Beach is a sheltered, netted swimming area ideal for families and those seeking calm waters. The beach features a grassy strip with picnic tables, making it perfect for leisurely afternoons. Adjacent to the beach are the Manly Pavilion and the site of the former Sea Life Aquarium, which is currently under redevelopment into a public open space. In summary, East Manly Cove Beach is a peaceful and family-friendly destination, offering safe swimming, picnic areas, and easy access from Manly Wharf. Whether you're looking to relax by the water or enjoy a leisurely walk, this beach provides a serene escape from the more crowded spots in Sydney.

The Sydney Opera House is an iconic arts center located on Bennelong Point in Sydney Harbour, offering breathtaking views of the harbor, bridge, and city skyline. With over 1,600 performances annually, it hosts a diverse range of events including opera, theatre, music, dance, and comedy shows. This architectural marvel is a must-see attraction that draws millions of visitors each year. Its unique design and cultural significance make it a standout feature of the picturesque Sydney Harbour.
The Sydney Opera House is truly one of the world’s most iconic landmarks and an unforgettable place to visit. From the moment you arrive at Circular Quay and catch sight of its unique sail-shaped design, you feel a sense of awe and admiration. The architecture is absolutely stunning, blending modern creativity with timeless elegance. It is not only a symbol of Sydney but also a masterpiece that represents Australia to the world. Visiting the Opera House offers much more than just admiring its exterior. Inside, the atmosphere is equally impressive, with beautifully designed concert halls and theatres that provide excellent acoustics and world-class performances. Whether it is a symphony, ballet, opera, or theatre production, every show staged here feels special because of the venue’s ambience. The quality of performances is always outstanding, leaving the audience inspired and entertained. The location of the Opera House makes the experience even more memorable. Surrounded by the sparkling waters of Sydney Harbour, it offers breathtaking views, especially at sunset when the building glows against the skyline. Walking around the Opera House, you can also enjoy the Royal Botanic Gardens nearby or take in the lively atmosphere of Circular Quay. What makes the Sydney Opera House even more appealing is that it welcomes everyone. You don’t have to attend a performance to appreciate it—you can simply tour the building, enjoy its cafes, or relax by the harbour. It is a must-visit attraction that perfectly combines art, culture, and natural beauty.

Booked the tour and dining experience for $81 weeks in advance. Tour started and ended on time with a group of around 20. Headsets were provided so that everyone can hear the live tour guide. They will ask you to check in any medium or large sizes bags or backpacks, but it's easy and free. Tour involved some easy, short walks and steps, but anyone can manage. Very informative and worth doing. The dining add on gives you 3 restaurant options to choose from, all very close by. There's a special, limited menu just for this deal. I chose Midden which had no wait for lunch time and went with the barramundi dish and pinot grigio. The fish was excellent, perfectly cooked and thoughtfully flavored. Asked for no added salt and they were able to accommodate. Wine was good as well and recommended by the server. Overall, a great tour and dining experience that's reasonably priced

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An Iconic Masterpiece! The Sydney Opera House is truly one of the most breathtaking landmarks I’ve ever visited. The architecture is stunning from every angle — whether you’re viewing it from the harbour, the bridge, or up close, it never loses its magic. The area around Circular Quay is lively, with great cafes and restaurants, and the atmosphere feels uniquely Sydney. I attended a performance here and the acoustics were incredible, making the whole experience unforgettable. Even just walking around the forecourt at sunset is worth the visit. Perfect spot for photos, relaxing, and soaking in the city’s energy. Highly recommend visiting both day and night — it’s a world-class attraction that lives up to every bit of its fame.

The structure is amazing… just like the pictures you see in Internet. Easy to move around. Handicap friendly. Many spots for snacks and even for lunch or dinner. Inside is big enough to run several events at the same time. We saw The Shiralee… excellent play presentation. Buster really run the show. The terrace around the Opera offers great spots for pictures and opportunities to crash on weddings… many diverse weddings. If you have time, you can visit the Botanical Garden nearby. You can’t miss it, if you are in Sydney!

Of course, the iconic tourist attraction! We usually only take pictures from the outside whenever visiting the Sydney Opera House (SOH). But Alhamdulillah this year we had the chance to watch the Australian Chamber Orchestra (ACO) performance. The architecture is really unique. The view from inside SOP to the Harbour Bridge and the surrounding areas is breathtaking! Each performance lasted around 1.5 hours. The multimedia facility as additional modern setting adds to the amazing theatrical experience. I did not expect to watch the ACO with documentary screening as background. There are bar and café on the main concern hall that serves drinks and light snacks. You can enter from the main entrance located under the primary stairs structure, or you can enter via a door with security check-in table to right after the tourist ticketing area. There are many concerts and arts performances for all ages, not just classical opera or orchestra as I used to think. Well, a famous landmark does not need recommendation. It speaks for itself.

This is a wonderful place where has stunning scenery, cheerful atmosphere, and a broad footpath. I just come here and walk beside the sea and it is unforgettable because of the relaxing atmosphere and the sound of waves. In my experience, it is suitable for solo travel if you get into walking around and watching good scenery.

Beautiful building. Fantastic to hear a performance in the Concert Hall. Take the Architectural Tour - history of design and build, with building's features - is a must. Our tour guide was Peter, a former architect, so we had an especially great tour. Lunch was an extra treat!

From the moment I saw your magnificent building for the first time, I felt a deep, powerful sense of wonder. Growing up in Vanuatu, a place where our history and stories are carved into sand and told through generations of song and dance, the Sydney Opera House was an icon of a different kind of artistry—a modern-day masterpiece and a long-held dream.

North Head, located about 3km south of central Manly, is a picturesque coastal national park with stunning cliffs that offer panoramic views of Sydney Harbour. The area features secluded beaches, scenic walking paths through native scrubland, and former military sites such as barracks and WWII gun emplacements. Visitors can explore the headland on foot or by bike, taking in the natural beauty and historical landmarks along the way.
Lovely walk! It's the kind of stroll where you can just zone out and enjoy the good vibes. The views are incredible with the coastline and Sydney skyline doing its thing in the distance. The path is super clean, really well looked after. It's also easy getting there by a bus from manly!

It was best place in Sydney. Before I travel, I feel depressed and frustrated because of my personal problems. But I visited North Head and just staring at the water flow and boat, that makes me comfortable. I wanna go back there!!!! Ps. If you plan to go North Head with bus, you have to check when bus comes. I didn't prepare for that, so I just waited half an hour under the hot sunlight😂 Because I don't have any plan to do in 30 minutes haha.

This elevated place offers scenic views of city, Sydney Harbour from great lookouts and Fairfax walk. It's also great spot for whale watching. Best to drive up here though is takes a while to get here because of the narrow windy roads and traffic enroute. Vehicle entry fees apply. Lots of parking around. Choose a nice sunny day if you want great harbour and landscape views. It's open early till late everyday. Toilets available. Uneven terrain, lot of walking. Popular place, need to go early to avoid the heat as well. You can spend several hours here depending on your interests. Wear comfy shoes, take water, wear hat, sunscreen. Lovely place for picnic. Great place for photography.

North Head is a must go place in Manly. Just take bus 161 at the Manly Wharf. It will take you to the North Head in about 20 minutes. You can enjoy great view and peaceful walk there. Everything is maintained well. All nice and clean. You can drop off at North Head Sanctuary stop as well to check out some nice coffee shops there as well.

Great views from a couple of broad viewing platforms that offer very picturesque and sweeping views back into Sydney Harbour. Watch as ferries, paddleboarders, sailing boats and all manner of seacraft meander by further back in the harbour. The native shrubs and plants provide a border to the sealed walking circuit at the top edge of the headland. For those hardier soles there are a number of partially sealed and unsealed tracks as well, one of which will take you back to Manly beach, which is well worth it. But take some water with you if you venture down the unsealed tracks towards Manly Beach, and be prepared for rough and narrow sections. If you don't have your own transport, there is a local bus that runs from just outside the Manly Ferry Wharf that goes approximately every half hour most days, that will drop you right at the car park on the North Head Headland.

Milk Beach is a small and secluded beach in Sydney, offering turquoise waters perfect for swimming and snorkeling. It provides stunning views of the Sydney skyline, making it an ideal spot for a romantic date or a peaceful getaway. Accessible only by foot or boat, this beach lacks nearby facilities, so visitors are encouraged to bring their own packed lunch, snacks, and towels for a day of relaxation.

Milk Beach is such a hidden gem in Sydney! The place is quiet, beautiful, and not crowded—perfect for relaxing or just enjoying the view. It’s also quite easy to access, which makes it even better. The water is clear, the atmosphere is peaceful, and the scenery is stunning 🏖️✨. Unfortunately, there are quite a lot of glass shards on the sand, so you need to be careful if walking barefoot. Hopefully, it gets cleaned up more often because this beach truly deserves to stay pristine. Overall, still one of the best spots to escape the city buzz. 💙

A date on a beach at sunset with a view: champagne, cheese, and coming home a bride-to-be! This little beachfront is simply stunning, offering everything from a natural backdrop to an amazing city view. If you get the chance, be sure to catch the sunset here, whether you choose the grassy hill, the beach, or the rocks. + There are public toilets available; just head up the hill and look behind the big house. + 🏳️‍🌈👌🏽 - Parking is a bit of a mission, but that's totally expected since it's a residential area.

Milk Beach is an absolute gem, a true paradise for nature lovers and sunset seekers alike. My visit to this breathtaking location turned into one of the most memorable experiences of my life. It's an ideal spot for a peaceful day by the sea, whether you're lounging under the sun or taking a refreshing dip in the ocean. However, the real magic happens as the sun begins to set. The vibrant hues of the sky, with shades of orange, pink, and purple, create a mesmerizing backdrop that is nothing short of spectacular. It's a perfect setting for capturing stunning photographs or simply basking in the natural beauty of the moment. For me, Milk Beach holds a special place in my heart because it's where my partner proposed to me. The combination of the picturesque scenery and the romantic ambiance made it an unforgettable moment that I will cherish forever. If you're looking for a romantic spot to pop the question, I can't recommend this beach highly enough. The beauty of the sunset and the tranquility of the surroundings create an incredibly intimate and magical atmosphere. Overall, Milk Beach is a must-visit destination. Whether you're there for a day of relaxation or a special occasion, the enchanting sunsets and the serene environment make it a place you will remember forever. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a beautiful, memorable experience by the sea.

Milk Beach Vaucluse It was busy today with people swimming and enjoying themselves, Milk Beach Vaucluse is Situated at the base of Hermit Bay within the Sydney Harbour National Park, Milk Beach is a small isolated beach surrounded by the Heritage listed Strickland House estate 😀 the easiest way to get to it is by walking through Strickland House estate as Milk Beach is located behind Strickland House estate Offering a breathtaking view of Sydney, Milk Beach is one of Sydney's Eastern Suburbs well-kept secrets. Access to Milk Beach is limited, however, it can be accessed via Public Transport, boat or limited off-street parking is available. There is plenty to do when visiting Milk Beach, from fishing and snorkeling, to family picnics under the awning or a walk along the Hermitage Foreshore..Milk Beach in Vaucluse is often described as one of Sydney's best-kept secrets, and for good reason. Tucked away within the Sydney Harbour National Park, this secluded strip of sand offers a peaceful escape from the city's more crowded beaches. The Beach and Its Vibe The key feature of Milk Beach is its stunning, postcard-perfect view of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. The beach itself is small and sheltered, with calm, clear waters that are ideal for swimming, especially for families with young children. The absence of large waves makes it a tranquil spot for a leisurely dip, snorkeling, or even fishing. Behind the beach, there's a grassy area that is perfect for a picnic. This makes it a popular spot for a relaxing day out, where you can lay out a blanket and enjoy a meal with a breathtaking backdrop. The historic Strickland House, a heritage-listed mansion from the 1850s, sits just above the beach, adding a touch of old-world charm to the scenery. While its secluded nature means it's less crowded than places like Bondi or Coogee, it's worth noting that Milk Beach is a small space, and it can get busy on hot summer days. However, its tranquil atmosphere and stunning views are what make it a favorite among those in the know. Access and Surroundings Milk Beach is not directly accessible by car, which contributes to its quiet feel. Access is primarily on foot, and this is where the surrounding attractions come into play. Hermitage Foreshore Walk: This is the most popular way to reach Milk Beach. It's an easy and scenic walking track that stretches along the coastline, connecting Nielsen Park and Rose Bay. The walk itself is a major attraction, offering incredible views of the harbour, secluded coves, and lush bushland. Strickland House: The mansion overlooking the beach is a historic gem. Its grounds are open to the public and provide a fantastic spot for a picnic or simply to admire the architecture and gardens. Nearby Beaches and Parks: Milk Beach is just one of several beautiful spots in the area. Other nearby attractions include: Nielsen Park & Shark Beach: A larger and more popular swimming spot with an enclosed swimming area, a cafe, and a grassy park. Vaucluse House: A historical house museum set within ten hectares of beautiful gardens. Parsley Bay: Another hidden gem with a netted swimming area, a walking track, and a charming suspension bridge. Practical Information Parking: There is very limited street parking available on nearby streets like Vaucluse Road and Carrara Road, so it's best to arrive early, especially on weekends. Many people choose to park further away and walk. Public Transport: Milk Beach is accessible via public bus, with stops a short walk away. Facilities: Given its secluded nature, the beach has limited facilities. It's advisable to bring your own food and water, as there are no kiosks or cafes directly on the beach. You can find cafes and restrooms at nearby Nielsen Park. In summary, Milk Beach is a true Sydney hidden gem. It’s not about the amenities or the crowds; it’s about the peaceful atmosphere, the stunning harbour views, and the opportunity to connect with nature on a beautiful coastal walk.

Sydney’s hidden gem! A peaceful hilltop park with stunning panoramic views of Sydney Harbour and the Harbour Bridge. Perfect for picnics, sunsets, or just a quiet escape from the city buzz. Great photo spot, especially in the late afternoon.
Chandara C — Google review
Observatory Hill Park is one of those places that flips the city into a postcard the second you reach the crest. The lawn rolls out beneath big old fig trees, the rotunda sits like a quiet stage, and the harbour spreads wide with the Bridge front and centre. Couples take photos, runners loop the path, and office workers drift up with takeaway coffees to trade emails for a few minutes of sky. Late afternoon is especially lovely. The light softens, ferries etch bright lines on the water, and the skyline starts to glow behind you. There is more to do here than just point a camera. Bring a picnic rug and you will find an easy patch of grass with a breeze that keeps the air fresh even on warm days. If you are curious, the historic observatory next door adds a small hit of science and storytelling to the outing, and the cannons near the slope hint at the site’s past without turning the visit into a history lesson. Lunchtime crowds come and go, yet it never feels cramped because the hill has room to breathe. Wedding groups and sketchbook people are common sights and they suit the mood perfectly. Worth knowing if you are planning a stop. Shade moves with the sun, so a hat and water help, and the hill can be windy after a southerly change which makes a light layer smart. Flat shoes are kinder on the paths, especially if you use the stairs through the Argyle Cut to reach The Rocks. Toilets and cafés sit a short walk away, and Wynyard or Circular Quay stations make arriving simple. Linger for sunset if you can, then wander down to the foreshore. It is one of the easiest, most rewarding pauses in the city.

An absolutely wonderful place and what a view! So many animals to look at and they all seem very healthy and well looked after. There's loads of viewing areas for each enclosure and space for everyone. We visited on a busy school holiday day and there was enough room for all. I love the fact that there are lots of zoo workers around to help or answer questions. The ticket price is well worth it. Well done Taronga Zoo.

Beautiful zoo, very well maintained and thoughtfully designed, with plenty of walking areas and shaded promenades. The full visit, including the shows, takes around 4 to 5 hours. My advice: arrive early in the morning when the animals (especially the koalas) are most active. The views are absolutely stunning — overlooking the entire Sydney skyline, the Opera House, and Harbour Bridge. Staff are super friendly and helpful. A must-do for anyone visiting Sydney or looking for a great day escape!

Fantastic zoo, really well built and easy to navigate. The enclosures are all really well done and the animals look very happy and healthy. The food market was great and plenty of water stations around. I was surprised that the zoo didn't have any elephants but the seals did make up for it. We were lucky to catch the seal show which was brilliant. All in all a great day out.

I’m visiting from California. It’s a beautiful zoo. Public transportation made it easy to get there. I was there on Saturday, October 3, 2025, about 30 minutes after it opened. I bought my tickets online as suggested at their gate. I didn’t wait in line and took the shuttle up. You can start at the bottom if you want. The Zoo is hilly but there are a lot of ramps for wheelchair access or strollers. Great place to take your family or do a solo trip. Also, there are water fountains and bathrooms everywhere. Photos are taken using the iPhone 17 pro max. Some photos are using the 8x zoom. I’m not a professional photographer.

I had an amazing time at the Taronga Zoo in Sydney! Definitely best to go for a full day to get the most out of it. The ferry across from Circular Quay was beautiful with great views of the opera house on the way (roughly 15 minute ferry transfer) Once we arrived there was a slight wait for the bus to travel up to the entrance - you can walk up but it’s a fair distance to the top and I found it was nice to work you way down the zoo from the top to the bottom. Lots of animals to see and experiences with close encounters. Only downside really was the food which was a bit average but not terrible all things considered.
Gianni P — Google review
Beautiful. Fun to get to via the ferries and direct bus service are convenient. Staff at the hut where Zoo members/friends go for free entry could be nicer, staff inside are wonderful, had a young lad help us to seats at a packed bird show. Cute restuarant (wish we had lunch there), the food court, where we had lunch unfortunetly, had overflowing bins and zero trays to carry your food. The Zoo itself is very hilly and takes a good full day to see and experience everything.

Not the best zoo but a fun day out and is pretty cool being able to see animals with the city behind. Cons were that a lot of the animals were sleeping and out of sight or just impossible to see, probably didn’t help that we came across the giraffe first and they were probably the best to watch. Good to check out but won’t be in a hurry to go back

Took the ferry from Circular Quay across to the Zoo on a Sunday. It’s a large site to walk around but what we really wanted to see were the Australian native animals of kangaroos, koalas, emus, wallaby’s etc which we did as well as red pandas, snakes, seals, birds etc. and indeed we did!! Overall a great way to spend a few hours in a nice environment.

Luna Park Sydney, a beloved amusement park located at Milsons Point, has been enchanting visitors since its grand opening in 1935. After undergoing redevelopment and reopening in 2004, this iconic destination features a charming blend of vintage rides like the Wild Mouse Rollercoaster and the Big Dipper, alongside classic attractions such as the Carousel.
Walking through the giant smiling entrance at Luna Park feels like stepping into a bright slice of Sydney nostalgia with the harbour as your backdrop. The moment you clear the gate you are met by carnival music, strings of bulbs overhead and the smell of popcorn and hot chips drifting on the breeze. It is an easy place to wander for a while even before you touch a ride. The old-school fun house, the carousel and the Ferris Wheel set a playful tone, and every so often you catch a glimpse of the Opera House or the bridge between the rides that reminds you there is no theme park view quite like this one. Ride mix suits most moods. Little kids light up in the gentle zones, older thrill seekers peel off to the faster stuff, and the Ferris Wheel earns a second mention because sunset laps are hard to beat for photos. Queues ebb and flow, yet staff keep things moving and height checks are handled kindly so there are no surprises at the platform. Food lands in familiar territory, which is part of the charm, with enough quick options to refuel without derailing the day. I liked grabbing a drink and finding a bench by the water for ten minutes of people watching before jumping back into the lights and noise. A few tips make the visit smoother. Tap on at Milsons Point Station and walk down, or arrive by ferry for the full postcard entrance. Prebook a ride pass if you can, it saves time at the ticket window. Lockers are available for bags, comfortable shoes help on the boardwalks, and a light layer is handy because the breeze can pick up after dark. Stay for twilight if possible. The park glows, the skyline switches on and the harbour turns into a sheet of reflections that makes every ride feel a little more special.

Sydney’s Luna Park – A Disappointing Experience From a distance, Luna Park in Sydney looks attractive and well-located, but once you get closer, the reality is very different. The park is squeezed between residential flats, and the overall atmosphere feels cramped and uninviting. When we visited, several of the main rides — at least four to five — were closed without any prior notice. Despite paying around $150 for tickets, we felt the money was completely wasted. On top of that, we had purchased additional tickets for some games, but when we saw them up close, it became clear that the games were overpriced and not worth the money. One of the biggest disappointments was the management’s attitude. When we asked about the closed rides, the staff gave vague, roundabout answers instead of providing clear information. At one point, a ride even stopped operating while people were still on it. The riders were taken off, and when we asked what happened, the only explanation we got was: “It’s closed for today.” When we asked when it would reopen, there was no proper answer. Overall, it was a frustrating and disappointing visit. Both our time and money were wasted. If you are planning to visit Sydney as a tourist, it’s better not to even bother going near Luna Park. It looks appealing from afar, but once inside, it fails to meet even basic expectations of an amusement park.

Very fun day out with lots to see and do! We ran out of time to see everything, you really need a whole day there to enjoy all the rides. I would have given 5 stars if there was more rides available for the 'red ticket' holders (generally 3-4 year olds) and if the park had some sort of lockers available to store your things in. Don't buy any food here if you can avoid it....it's pretty expensive and make sure you catch the ferry over. It's much quicker than trekking back up the hill to the train station.

O wow what a unbelievably amazing amusement Park, must go and I would suggest take a longer pass coz you would want to go again and again. Big Dipper is amazing thrilling ride, so is wild mouse. And as soon as you enter there is a rotor one. Do try that it's simply wow the feel in that ride, make sure not to eat too much and it's going to make you feel light headed. Enjoy and enjoyyyyyyyy

You know there is a 4 hours Halloween ticketed event with entertainment everywhere you go and amazing staff keeping you entertained and shows. - so instead of grabbing grabbing a popcorn and enjoy the vibe you decide to waste your night by standing in lines and wait for a ride and miss out on the whole idea of the hallowscream then come back here and post a 1 star review. go do rides on another day when you have time - i enjoyed my night here and i wanna do it again next year And by the way i did 4 rides Thank you luna park

Great place, wortg a visit with kids for fun and amazing views. Food is not bad and the waiting time is average for a teame park. Can get around with a pram and a fair amount of rides for little ones as well.

Biggest waste of money ever. This place should be renamed “sorry, not in service”. Half the arcade games don’t work. Half the rides are closed. At least all of the “carnival” prize games were open..well of course they were so they could rip you off some more with dodgy scams and literally pay to win big prizes now..want a a big toy? You literally will need to fork out for 10’s of games to accumulate enough points. Best of all, after ordering and paying online, was told at the gate that our child with a cast can go on nothing..can I get a refund? Of course I can’t, because I should have read the website.. found it, 5 pages down hidden away. Thanks Luna park. Proper carneys ripping you off blind 👏 👏 never again

Made a special trip to 🤡Luna Park for the 👹Halloscream 👻 event. First time to the park, was a good event extremely loooooong lines to rides waiting over 🕗45mins was annoying but couldn't be helped. As the event only went until 10pm 🌜(4hrs) not many sideshows open to do in-between. Enjoyed the scare mazes and Squid🐙 Games room. The "street"💃🕺 performances were pretty good, really liked that they travelled around performing 🎭 Food & drink was good nice portions. Great coffee☕️ and cookies 🍪 . Felt a bit ripped off getting VIP tickets as there was very limited extras for paying more. Disappointed that you were told you couldn't really dressup only to see other patrons looking more like they worked there instead of being paying customers! Overall a fun experience, we can ✔️✔️ this one off the bucket🪣 list.

Icebergs Dining Room and Bar is a trendy Italian restaurant located in a prime spot overlooking Bondi Beach. It's a favorite among celebrities and fashion-forward individuals who enjoy the stunning view of the beach while indulging in exquisite Mediterranean dishes. The restaurant offers a sophisticated menu featuring fresh seafood, artisanal produce, and classic Italian fare.
had an amazing experience at Icebergs in Bondi. From the moment we arrived, everything was exceptional. The stunning ocean views set the perfect backdrop, and the atmosphere was both elegant and relaxed. The food was outstanding—each dish beautifully presented and bursting with flavour. You can truly taste the quality and creativity in every bite. The service was attentive and professional, adding to the overall experience. A perfect combination of incredible food, breathtaking views, and top-tier service. Icebergs is a must-visit if you’re in Bondi!

A truly iconic Sydney dining experience Dining at Icebergs was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm, attentive service and seated at a table with panoramic views of Bondi Beach and the crashing waves below. The setting alone is worth a visit—elegant, modern, and infused with that effortlessly chic coastal vibe that defines Sydney. The menu was refined and seasonal, with a strong focus on high-quality produce and beautifully prepared seafood. Every dish felt thoughtfully composed, with standout flavours and artistic presentation. The oysters were some of the freshest we’ve had, and the pasta with spanner crab was a perfect balance of richness and brightness. Their wine list was extensive, featuring a fantastic range of Australian and international selections, and the sommelier’s pairing recommendations elevated the meal even further. The atmosphere struck a rare balance—it was upscale without being stuffy, sophisticated but still relaxed. The staff were professional yet personable, striking that ideal tone of hospitality that makes you feel both looked after and comfortable. We stayed long after dessert, sipping cocktails and watching the evening light fade over Bondi. It’s one of those experiences that leaves a lasting impression—not just a meal, but a moment. I’d recommend Icebergs to anyone looking for a special night out in Sydney, whether you’re a visitor or a local celebrating something memorable.

Magnificent! Highly recommend. The service was superb the food and ambience was amazing. All wait staff were so lovely and professional, with a shout out to Justin. So friendly and knowledgeable. If you want to sit down and have an amazing view of Bondi Beach, then Icebergs is a must visit. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Although it can be really windy sitting outside, the views and vibes are worth it. The food was surprisingly pretty decent and prices are moderately high, which is expected of the location. It’s largely self service and the decor is quite nice. Very scenic spot!

Great views and great service, very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The food however was very disappointing, my wife got a very undercooked quail and to they credit we didn’t get charged for it, my lamb was very salty and lacked some rendering of the fat, the flathead way overcooked. Overall we had a good time but must be frustrating for the front of the house to be let down by the kitchen. I don’t think we will go back.

Icebergs is such a classic, classy spot for a special occasion. The main feature is the sweeping view over Bondi Beach, the venue itself is beautifully designed and fitted out. The food is beautifully presented and very enjoyable. Service has been hit or miss in my visits - but overall really top notch.

The view over Bondi, The Mussels , the Caesar salad, the crisp Sauvignon Blanc, the pure bliss! We visit for lunch every time we are in Sydney. This is what dreams are made of!

The service was fantastic from start to finish — the staff were incredibly professional, friendly, and attentive, making me feel truly special on my day. The food was delicious, and the desserts were exceptional. The environment was beautiful and elegant. The money spent was completely worth it. I highly recommend Icebergs for a great dining experience!

The nautical-inspired decor adds to its allure, creating a stylish ambiance for visitors to enjoy handcrafted cocktails, including signature gin spritzes and premium concoctions made with top-shelf spirits.
I had a great experience I've come for some nice food and somewhere to write. I was served by Juan and Jeanne they were amazing and gave me the best recommendations with the tempura crab and the tuna crudo. As well being sat close to the bar Jonathan, Sean and Sujan were able to put on a show with their cocktail tricks and great entertainment. Highly recommend

So lucky this was our first stop after arriving to Sydney ! The rooftop view over Darling Harbour was absolutely stunning . On top of the lovely food and quick annd attentive service, we were treated to a lively dance show and a beautiful live violin play-along that really lifted the vibe. Loved that my couple friends even got up for a little dance during the performance! Had such a good time . We’ll definitely be back 👍

My first time visiting Zephyr Rooftop Bar and it definitely lived up to the hype! The place offers amazing views of Darling Harbour — the perfect backdrop for a relaxed evening. Park
Nature & Parks
Nielsen Park, located within the Sydney Harbour National Park, has a rich history as former Aboriginal land and colonial estate. It was originally part of the defense system for Sydney but has since been transformed into a recreational landscape. The park is popular among local families for its picnic areas and sheltered swimming in Shark Bay. Visitors can enjoy partial city views from the beach and explore trails that offer stunning vistas of the harbor.
Located at 6 Steele Point Road, Vaucluse, New South Wales, Australia 🇦🇺. This is a wonderful park located directly facing the Sydney Harbour. It runs onto Shark Beach and gives a really protected place to swim. There’s fantastic shower amenities available for changing before and after a swim and plenty of places to sit and relax. I would’ve liked to see more tables/chairs and possibly BBQ’s. There’s a really pretty walkway that winds around the park. The canopy of beautiful old trees 🌲 makes the park so beautiful and creates protection from the sun. It’s a very wheelchair accessible park. There’s plenty of parking 🅿️ at the entrance to the park. I loved the shelving steps that face the beach. A good place to sit and watch the water or friends/family swimming. It’s a fantastic place to swim, the water is so clear and you are protected by the shark net. There’s great toilets facilities including disabled toilets. We came on a week day so there wasn’t really a lot of people but I imagine on the weekends or during holidays it would be packed. I had a fantastic day and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Neilsen Park. Thumbs up!!! 👍👍👍
Nerine C — Google review
Nielsen Park is an excellent start to a lovely walk along the harbour. The cafe is busy but fairly efficient and the long awaited sea wall is an agreeable place to sit and watch the boats go by. We were very surprised by the number of signs along the walk from National Parks that said "Trees at this site have been illegally poisoned". The residents do seem to be at war with nature.
Julian P — Google review
It’s a fantastic park, and beach and also a really good cafe. The shark net is not working on one end but there’s a lot of other people that could be eaten first! Great area for picnic, barbecues or just sitting on the steps in the sun. Loads of space to boats and kayaks. There’s a bus straight down there to the door as well.
Jacqueline K — Google review
Offering a peaceful escape with its beautiful beach, crystal-clear waters, and shady picnic spots. It’s perfect for taking a scenic walk along the coastline. The park is also close to Milk Beach and Shark Beach, making it easy to explore more stunning spots nearby. The views are breathtaking, and even though it can get busy on weekends, the relaxed vibe makes it a perfect spot to enjoy nature and unwind. A must-visit for a tranquil day out!
Tom D — Google review
Spectacular beach, one of the best spots to spend a beach day in Sydney (if not the world.) It's not a surf beach as it's on the harbour and has the protective shark net for peace of mind. Highly recommended!

The views from this park are spectacular. Beautiful park and place for a harbour swim. Lots of families enjoying a day out. Awesome little beach. Very picturesque. Beautiful walk, stunning views and interesting landscapes. Pleasantly quiet and many Bays to visit. Nice place to watch the boats go by. Water looked inviting and clean - but too cold at this time of year for me!

Beautiful place to take the kids for a picnic and a swim. Construction 🚧 has finally finished ✅️ Nielsen Park Vaucluse is now reopened. It features Shark Beach with a netted swimming area, expansive lawns for picnics, and scenic walking tracks like the Hermitage Foreshore track. Dogs are not allowed at Nielsen Park. Shark Beach, located within Nielsen Park in Sydney's eastern suburbs, has reopened after extensive renovations. The beach, known for its calm waters and scenic harbor views, was closed for approximately three years.Nielsen Park offers one of the most picturesque locations on Sydney Harbour for a picnic, swim, and a short walk. Located in Sydney Harbour National Park at Vaucluse, it boasts 3 large, sheltered picnic areas and expansive lawns. Relax on the grass and enjoy your lunch beneath a shady fig tree. Once you've taken a swim at the glistening Shark Beach drop into The Nielsen cafe for a coffee or an ice cream while the kids build sandcastles. Stroll along the scenic foreshore walking track or explore the area by kayak. For a longer walk, explore Bottle and Glass Point or take a 3.6km return walk along the unmissable Hermitage Foreshore track for ultimate views of Sydney Harbour. Nielsen Park also features picnic areas, walking tracks, and the historic Greycliffe House.

The only downside is the parking really. Lots of shady trees and grass to laze on. There are some good walks through the park, and of course the proximity to the beach is a huge bonus. There are some nice views from up the hill. But do expect to struggle to find a carpark during the holidays, especially on hot beach days.

Seafood market
Sydney Fish Market is a beloved institution among locals and a world-famous seafood destination. It's the second-largest seafood market globally in terms of variety, offering some of the freshest seafood in Sydney. The market features shops for seafood, deli items, wine, and baked goods, as well as casual cafes and restaurants serving fresh oysters and fish and chips.
Sydney Fish Market is a must-visit if you love seafood! The variety is amazing! everything from fresh prawns and oysters to sushi, lobster, and sashimi. We tried a little bit of everything and it was all so fresh and delicious. It does get really busy, especially around lunchtime, but that’s part of the fun and atmosphere. Prices are reasonable for the quality you’re getting, and there’s plenty of seating by the water where you can enjoy your food. Just watch out for the seagulls if you’re eating outside! Definitely worth the stop when you’re in Sydney.
Milacarlosg — Google review
must-visit for seafood lovers. 🦞🐟 The variety is incredible — from fresh oysters, lobsters, prawns, and sushi to cooked dishes like fish & chips. Everything is fresh, flavorful, and reasonably priced for the quality. It can get very busy, especially around lunch, but the lively atmosphere adds to the experience. Seating is available inside and outside, with a nice view of the water. Perfect place to enjoy fresh seafood in Sydney!
Alberrich — Google review
Arrived at 3.20pm and it seems like most stalls are already washing up and closing, no more cooking of seafood. Had a quick look and the seafood is indeed fresh and of high quality, however, the prices are on the high side as you can expect of a tourist spot. Got a quick bite for $5 but didn’t managed to catch anything else as it was already near closing time. Would still recommend a visit if you are in the vicinity and enjoys seafood, you choose the items, they cook for you.
Tong T — Google review
The entrance is free, do not believe what’s on Google review that says $95 on ticket section. Got plenty of good food from Multiple food vendors. Many varieties of fish, prawn and crab that you can cook at home, lots of choices but if you want to eat in the market just be careful with the seagulls, those birds love to steal people’s food but thankfully they never snach mine. What I don’t like about this market is when so many Chinese tourists come here, they don’t know the basic manner like standing on the queue or just saying “excuse me & sorry”.
Thomas C — Google review
Had an awesome time at Sydney Fish Market! The seafood was super fresh and tasty — loved the oysters, salmon, scallops, and prawns. The crab legs were amazing too! Great portions, lively vibe, and that fresh coconut drink was the perfect finish. Definitely a must-visit for seafood lovers in Sydney! 🦪🦐🐟🍋
ROWENA A — Google review
An amazing place to get a variety of seafood from raw to cooked. First up, parking can be a headache. I'd recommend going through the market first before buying from just one place. I found some places were more expensive than others and were selling the same produce. I'd definitely recommend getting sea urchin topped oysters, they're really nice!
Arz E — Google review
Plenty of fresh seafood to choose from! You can pick your seafood from the shops and they’ll cook it for you on the spot, or prepare fresh sashimi slices right in front of you. It’s a great experience for seafood lovers. Just a heads up if you sit outdoors, you’ll likely get swarmed by seagulls, so it’s best to eat indoors or take your food elsewhere.
Kuan-Yu C — Google review
Extraordinary feast for the senses for lovers of seafood. One suspects short cuts have been taken with the vast array of prepared options but can not fault the freshly cooked Lobster nor the service at Nicholas Seafood. Went back to the purchase point seeking a "doggy bag" when the size of the Lobster proved our eyes were larger than our stomaches and were asked to bring it back and they cracked and repacked for us to takeaway. Sat outside to eat and noted that the some common sense such as keeping the food covered from the view of the seagulls untill we sat down, avoided the gull stampede.

Excellent all day free street parking and quiet beach for locals. However, no amenities such as shops and cafes. Sand can have a bit of stones and sticks compared to nearby Balmoral Beach. Water has sea grass so a bit darker. Secluded, so good for swimming and children, reduced waves.

Despite the racist name this is a fantastic beach! It is perfect for a calm day at the beach to swim at, relax and sunbathe! With beautiful views and great places to rest this a must go to beach. I personally love coming here often. There are a couple downsides such as the sand and the seagrass but the rest of the beach makes up for it! Overall, come here for a good beach day with kids or without because you won't regret it!

This IS the beach for you if you’re done with waves. Nice spot for sunrise chasers too. The park nearby is good for bbq/picnic. It was only a 30min commute by bus (from St Leonards) + 800m walk from bus stop so a big plus for me who doesn’t own a car. From what I saw, parking could be very scarce or none at all when you arrive here around 8:30am on a weekend or public holiday so be sure to be early.

Hornby Lighthouse, a striking red and white striped structure, has been guiding ships since its construction in 1858. Situated at Sydney's South Head, it offers breathtaking views of the ocean and serves as a reminder of the city's serene side. Visitors can enjoy scenic walking tracks and lookouts that provide panoramic vistas of Sydney Harbour. The lighthouse is part of the Sydney Harbour National Park and is accessible via a picturesque 2.8 km walk from Watsons Bay.
Cute little lighthouse at the entrance of Sydney harbour, looking out on the ocean. It’s an easy climb from Camp Cove or Watsons bay. The panorama at the top is just gorgeous, the city view or sunset watching is best from the cliffs in front of the Lightkeepers cottage. Last facilities at Camp cove.

Hornby Lighthouse is a beautiful and historic spot located near Watsons Bay, right at the entrance of Sydney Harbour. The red and white striped lighthouse is very charming and makes a perfect photo location. The walking track to the lighthouse is easy and family-friendly, offering scenic views of the coastline along the way. Beautiful spot. The walk from Watson bay to the lighthouse is nice with paved trail most all the way. However beware of nude folks ( there is an area somewhere close to this where nude is legal), specially old man stark naked and masturbating. I got the shock of my life when I realized I was looking down from where I was seated to an old man fondling himself.

Middle Head – Gubbuh Gubbuh is a part of the Sydney Harbour National Park, offering stunning views of both the inner and outer harbor. The area holds historical significance as it was once used for defense purposes but has now been transformed into a recreational landscape. Visitors can explore military relics dating back to the 1870s and enjoy picnics with panoramic views of Sydney Harbour. Additionally, there are trails leading to nearby attractions such as Balmoral Beach and Chowder Bay.
Huge area to cover, with loads of great walks with different views - from bush to harbour and sea views. Really interesting old war gun placements to explore, and extending a walk down to Chowder Bay is well worth the effort. Photos here from Chowder Bay.

An incredible mix of history, nature, and breathtaking harbour views! Middle Head – Gubbuh Gubbuh is home to well-preserved military fortifications, including tunnels, gun emplacements, and underground bunkers from the 19th and 20th centuries. Walking through the site feels like stepping back in time, with stunning coastal scenery adding to the experience. A must-visit for history lovers, hikers, and anyone looking to explore Sydney’s hidden gems!
Jigar J — Google review
Very scenic spot. You can look across to all of the other harbour headlands. Even nice on a cloudy day. The historic gun emplacements are great to walk through.

Nice short 1-1.5 hour return walk. Rated Grade 3 but relatively easy for an able-bodied person, though there are some steps. About 90% of the track is nicely paved, so normal sneakers are fine 👌🏻 Just make sure you’re comfortable with stairs

Amazing place. Need to be careful around the rock edges. There’s this beautiful coastal walk with so many lookout points in between. The day was so pleasant though swells were huge. A small beach is also there. Parking was also available closer in a public holiday.

Prince Alfred Park Public Pool, located in Surry Hills near Central Station, is a modern outdoor pool offering a 50-meter lap pool, a family-friendly pool, and plenty of shaded lounging areas. The facility also includes a splash pad, swim shop, and cafe. Visitors can enjoy the clean and heated pools while soaking up the sun in this inner-city oasis. Families with kids can take advantage of the designated kid-friendly area while others can make use of basketball and tennis courts for some exercise.
We swam several times a week at this 50m clean, well shaded public pool! Great bathrooms, showers, clean change rooms, and large grassed surroundings with loungers and chairs under bright yellow sun unbrellas right next to Central train station! Friendly staff!

One of the best public pools in Sydney. Heated and clean water, with warm showers with doors for privacy. Nice shade area to rest as well. Simply amazing.

Friendly staff and an awesome location right next to Central and just outside the CBD with free lockers and hot showers. There’s plenty of umbrellas for shade and an expansive grassy area to relax poolside. It’s an easy walk from Central or Redfern Station. 50m pool split across 9 lanes with the standard slow, medium and fast lane options. There is also squad training on offer as well as learn to swim classes. The pool can be split with a divider to be 25m, and lanes can be booked in the 25 or 50m lengths for events and parties. As at 2021, it’s $6.90 for an adult entry, which is good value considering the location.
Aaron B — Google review
Great pool, good staff, but: all summer the showers are so hot it hurts, then every winter without fail the heating goes out and it's cold swims and cold showers. And no ETA on a fix.
Piers G — Google review
Heated pool, beautiful grassy area to sit in, clean bathrooms, coffee machine is actually good!
Luka O — Google review
Really impressed with this pool. Firstly it was a very clean facility, wether that’s because it has just reopened after Covid lockdown or this is always the case remains to be seen but my experience was a good one. The water was relatively warm as it is a heated pool, I know sometimes they are ‘heated’ but still feel cold, this pool was a comfortable temperature. The staff were polite. There are seats available with shade.

Nestled in the picturesque Mosman area, Headland Park is a treasure trove of natural beauty and historical significance. The highlight of this stunning park is the Georges Head Lookout, which offers breathtaking views of Sydney Harbour and the Pacific Ocean. This lookout features a beautifully designed sandstone platform by renowned architect Richard Leplastrier, making it an ideal spot for picnics with loved ones amidst shaded lawns and remnants of historic military structures from the late 1800s.
Many steps but worth it.

Headland park is an amazing place for lunch / family outings / picnics on a sunny day in Sydney's north shore/Mosman area. Frenchie's cafe offers nice French food and coffee for your day here - don't miss the Madeleins. Ample parking space and nice walking tracks all around make it a worthwhile and easy trip to make, easy accessibility for seniors and kids as well. There is also public transport which drops just outside. Our favourite place on a restful weekend 👍
Ruchir K — Google review
Nice park but disappointed with Harbour Trust. Firstly it is confusing and the signage is not clear that the headland is not a national park. Therefore National park permits are not valid here. The parking fines dished out seem very over the top and disproportionate to the parking rate. $170 is their standard parking fine. The left us with a vary bad impression of the Harbour Trust who did not waive the fine despite our honest error. Another government department not serving its citizens.

Bradleys Head Amphitheatre is a terraced venue that offers stunning views of Sydney Harbour, including iconic landmarks like Fort Denison, the Sydney Harbour Bridge, and the Sydney Opera House. It's a popular spot for picnics and events due to its picturesque backdrop. Photographers often visit to capture the breathtaking scenery, especially during sunset when the sun sets across the harbor.
What a place! It truly stands out with its incredible view that takes your breath away the moment you arrive. Whether you're looking for a peaceful spot to relax or a scenic backdrop for a day out, this location has it all. The natural beauty surrounding the area makes it perfect for a picnic—imagine spreading out a blanket, enjoying delicious food, and soaking in the stunning landscape. It's also a wonderful spot to share special moments with loved ones, whether it's a romantic outing, a gathering with friends, or even just some quiet time alone. One thing to note is that getting there via public transport can be a bit challenging. While it's an option, the routes aren't as direct or frequent as you might hope, so you may need to plan your journey carefully. If you’re driving, it’s worth mentioning that the parking area is quite limited. During peak times, you might struggle to find a spot close by, which could mean parking further away and taking a bit of a walk to reach the main area. However, even with these minor inconveniences, the experience is more than worth it. The charm of this place far outweighs any small challenges you might encounter. Once you're there, the serene atmosphere and picturesque surroundings make it easy to forget any hassle. Whether you’re spending the day exploring or just passing through, it’s a destination that leaves a lasting impression. Overall, it’s a place that I would highly recommend and one that I’m sure I’ll be returning to again and again. If you're looking for a spot that offers both natural beauty and a sense of tranquility, this is definitely it.
Carlos F — Google review
Nice spot but don’t try eat there. Two times we’ve tried for a picnic and the local kookaburra has continually swooped food from our hands mid bite and from the picnic. Had to relocate both times to be able to eat without being scratched by the birds.
Breyana — Google review
Beautiful location for a wedding - it is very weather dependent so make sure to have a backup option for inclement weather It's very easy to book online with NPWS Events National Parks - they will advise regarding all the specifics of the site. For our wedding it was a maximum of 100 guests, 40 rail style chairs, two allocated parking spots, and no confetti/flower petals. Parking here is limited and the tight roundabout will not accommodate limousines but will accommodate a regular Mercedes sprinter van quite nicely, so our party booked one vintage car for myself and my bride, and two sprinter vans for our wedding party.

If you're looking for a peaceful spot away from the city crowds to watch the sun melt into Sydney Harbour, Bradleys Head Sunset Point is pure magic. The vibe is serene.🧡🌅
Ritu M — Google review
A truly breathtaking and peaceful spot that captures the magic of Sydney Harbour. The natural amphitheatre setting is spectacular, surrounded by bushland, framed by water, and offering panoramic views that are nothing short of stunning. It is a place that invites stillness and reflection, yet feels vibrant and alive with history. There is something deeply grounding about being here, whether you are pausing during a bush walk, enjoying a quiet moment, or learning about the area’s military significance. The space holds a quiet dignity that pays tribute to the service of our defence forces, adding depth and meaning to the beauty around you. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a serene escape, a romantic viewpoint, or simply a place to reconnect with the land and its stories.

Fil D — Google review
Beautiful place for a romantic picnic, overlooking the water and directly at the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House. We were lucky and unlucky to encounter some wildlife during the day. A possum scavenging for leftover fruit and kookaburras who swooped our sushi right out of our chopsticks, twice. Reminder, to always take all rubbish with you for the safety of animals and ending up in the ocean. Bins located near toilets and parking spaces.
Reshma C — Google review
Nice little spot to eat lunch, picnic or to have casual meetings with friends and colleagues. I doubt it is being used as an actual amphitheater. It is also connected to a pier that is great for fishing (you will need an NSW fishing license). The folks fishing there said they havent caught anything yet. Australian Ravens, laughing kookaburras, noisy miners, australian magpies, australian brushturkeys and silver gulls roam the area in hopes of scavenging for visitor bread/food. Overall a nice place to relax.

Beautiful pit stop after seeing the botanical gardens! Breathtaking photos to be taken here. Awesome spot on the rocks where you can get a great photo of the bridge and the opera house, saw a wedding photographer doing this for a couple while visiting. Popular spot for tourist busses to stop as well. No bus stop nearby, so you will have to walk about 12 minutes to get there, not bad.

The Gap in Watsons Bay, Sydney, is a popular ocean cliff lookout with breathtaking panoramic views. It's situated opposite the Watsons Bay ferry wharf and offers easy access to coastal walking tracks like the Federation Cliff walk and the Rose Bay to Watsons Bay walk. The area has been a tourist destination since early European settlement, providing stunning ocean views and sights of Sydney Harbour. The site also holds historical significance as it was where the sailing ship Dunbar crashed in 1857.
The views are spectacular: you’ll get sweeping views of the Tasman Sea, the entrance to Sydney Harbour, and the city skyline in the distance. It’s relatively easy to reach and suitable for a short scenic visit or walk.

This is one of my favourite views in Sydney! Absolutely stunning and along a lovely walk down to Camp Cove and South Head. ❤️ These are the best cliff views in Sydney and easily accessible by public transport (see below). You're also just a short walk away from a view to the city, top harbour views! 🚍 If you're not the walking sort, this view is only steps away from the bus stop or just across the park from the ferry stop (Watsons Bay). The ferry is a 20 min ride from Circular Quay or Manly. 🚶‍♀️Take the time to walk a little way along to Don Richie park, commemorating a resident who saved hundreds of lives over decades to chatting to those wanting to take their lives on the cliffs. 📞 If you need to talk to someone, Lifeline is 24/7 and can be reached at 13 11 14. 🚻 Closest public toilets in the adjoining Robertson Park, just across the road. Marked on Google Maps. Well worth the visit! Impeccable views.

Went there on a summer Sunday. Quiet and serene place to spend quality time. Can do fishing here. There is a park next to the beach and has plenty of rides for children. There is also a basketball court for people who enjoy sports, and an ice-cream parlour. Good cafes just next to the beach.

Looking directly at Nielsen Park from the southern edge of Middle Head, Chowder Bay is a charming swimming spot. Despite growing up in Sydney it’s my first visit to this idyllic beach with netted swimming area and a wharf to jump off. I chose to swim outside the nets between the luxury boats. As a conservation effort, they breed seahorses under the wharf in little open cages. In face only negative I could find here was lots of transparent jellyfish in the harbour at the moment, but I also saw them on the southern side beaches yesterday. Parking is at a premium in this affluent suburb, with the paid parking in Clifton Garden Reserve totally full when we arrived. We drove around to Chowder Bay Road and parked near the restaurants, enjoying a little taste of the Manly to Bondi walk to get to the crystal clear, aquamarine water. Can’t wait to return!

Great ferry service, amazing views of Sydney Harbour and the starting point for one of the best harbour side walks The ferry trip to Cremorne Point is relatively short - Cremorne Point Wharf is in fact just 10 minutes by ferry from Circular Quay - so this trip is perfect for someone who finds themselves in Central Sydney with an hour or two to fill. Ferries leave Circular Quay every half hour during daylight hours, Cremorne Point Wharf is the first stop is near the end of Cremorne Point. This is around the midway point along the foreshore walk. After leaving the ferry you simply follow the path in either direction - turning left follows the shoreline of Shell Cove with views across the cove to Neutral Bay. Turning right follows the shoreline of Mosman Bay with views across the bay to Mosman , walked to Maccallum Pool and sun-baked!
