The Red Sand Dunes, situated near Mui Ne town, may be smaller than the white dunes but are just as enchanting. The reddish-brown sand forms a stunning contrast against the blue sky, making it a popular destination for photography enthusiasts. The dunes are particularly breathtaking at sunset when the hues become even more vivid.

3Mui Ne Fishing Village

3.9

Mentioned on
4 lists
Mui Ne Fishing Village is a serene coastal stretch that spans about 1km, offering a peaceful escape with calm waves and gentle breezes year-round. In the early mornings, visitors can witness the lively trading scene as fishermen return from their night fishing trips. The village provides an opportunity to experience traditional fishing methods and observe the tranquil daily life of coastal fishermen. Additionally, tourists can indulge in a variety of fresh seafood such as squid, fish, shrimp, crabs, and snails at affordable prices.
Mũi Né Fishing Village at sunrise was an incredible experience. We arrived at 5:30 a.m., which is the best time to see the market in full swing. Fishermen were still bringing in their catch, while women sorted, cleaned, and packed the seafood onto motorbikes for distribution. It felt raw and real—a glimpse into daily life here. As the morning went on, the market quieted, and locals arrived to buy fresh seafood from stalls set up right on the sand. A must-visit, especially for photographers! Easily my favorite experience in Mũi Né.
Elisha W — Google review
A signature "attraction" of Mui Ne. This venue is not set up for tourists but a real local fish market. The area has plenty of trash strewn everywhere, but don't let it distract from the evolving authentic slice of daily. Ideally, go at sunrise time (533am) and feel the place comes alive. A photographer's heaven indeed. By 645am, the activities would have thin out by then. With waking up early for this gem. No entrance free needed.
Jensen P — Google review
Great little morning trip with a duration for about 90 min from Panadus resort. First fish market on the beach, then a walk to the fish market in town and then return. Good guide that gave us a good insight in this little town.
Erik B — Google review
It used to be when you climbed down the stairs you'll get cheap and good seafood. The stall owners who run it now seems to have swapped a lot of fresh seafood with long dead or clearly spoilt seafood, and they did this 2 days in a row when we patronised them. We thought the first day was a misunderstanding, but after a whole container of spoilt mantis shrimps, a whole plate of hollowed out crabs and a 2nd day of the same, it is clear these people are unrepentant cheaters. Take your chances elsewhere!
Lionel L — Google review
One star for trash everywhere. Fishing village people, seriously? Do you really have to dump everything including plastics and organic waste right onto this beautiful beach?
Bogdan S — Google review
Well, ugly beach with garbage amd dogs. Thr boats looks ok from the balcony.
Vojtěch O — Google review
Live and fresh fish market with a variety of items to purchase. Only thing is was the place was dirty with garbage area and super smelly.
Jonathan L — Google review
The best spot to get a view of the fish village is right in front of a seafood restaurant. Unfortunately, the sightseeing balcony is currently under construction. But don't worry, many tourists are still hopping on and off their Jeeps just to snap a quick picture. Trust me though, it's totally worth stopping by for a bit. While you're here, why not grab a cup of their famous hot coffee( Vietnamese dripping coffee)? Just sit back, relax, and enjoy the stunning views of the noon and sunset. It's absolutely beautiful!

Đồi Cát Đỏ, also known as the Red Sand Dunes, is a striking dune system located near the sea in Mui Ne and Phan Thiet. These dunes offer a unique experience with activities such as sand sledding and breathtaking views of the sunset. Situated just a few kilometers from the city center, they are easily accessible on foot or by tour.
Very pretty! If you’re not doing the jeep tour, go during the day and it’s basically empty! We took some awesome photos.
Nilou K — Google review
Red Sand Dunes. Whoever named this place clearly lost a fight with a Crayola box. Spoiler: it’s not that red. It’s more like “slightly dirty orange” or “did someone spill paprika on the beige dunes.” If you came here expecting Mars, congrats, you just landed in your neighbor’s cat litter tray after taco night. What’s actually here? Sand. Shocking, I know. A few locals selling drinks and snacks because, let’s be honest, they know you’ll cave once the sun starts deep-frying your soul. That’s it. No ATVs, no cinematic vistas, just a sandy hill and your own bad life choices. But here’s the plot twist: it’s free. And that alone makes it superior to White Sand Dunes, where you pay actual dongs just to get sunburned and robbed by gravity. Here, you just stroll in, sink into sand that looks like it gave up trying to be red, and pretend you’re cultured while sweating through your clothes. So yeah, Red Sand Dunes: still boring, still sand, but at least your wallet survives. Call it the Costco sample version of tourist traps—cheap, slightly disappointing, but somehow better than the overpriced full product.
Wade W — Google review
It is a fun experience to ride the atvs on the sand dunes. The guides take great photos of you throughout and help you stear only as needed.
Megan J — Google review
There are not only here to play the sand dune. this is just one of it. My driver bring here when I say I want to go to sand dune but so at first we just want to take photo and leave to the ATV place but after we takephotos. there was a local girl offering us to play the sandboarding and my friend want to play it since the price they offer is 50k/board so we think wejust want to rent for 2 board only and just take turns to play. we need to walk few minutes to arrive at place where not so many people and play there. thegirl offer to take our pictures and record videos of us playing that sandboarding. After the session end, she ask for tips and we agree to give tip100k. my friend already give 100k to her but she ask for another 100k to give to her mum. we pissed off because its too much as we are not that rich to givetip 200k easily! but because most of us are soft hearted so we give 50k more to her. that’s all. So moral of the story, if they offer to take your picture, just say no if don’t want to pay tips at the end of the game. if you want to play ATV, you need to go to other place, not here. I will share it at the next review.
Amira Y — Google review
Family had a blast! Best to go early morning when its not hot and less crowded. Free to wonder around, 50k for sled, and great scenery for desert and ocean view
James N — Google review
Very pretty but wait till you’re at the top to hire a sand board and make sure you have enough to tip the woman or she won’t like you.
Adam — Google review
Nice place and sliding but when I tipped 40k for 10 minutes (which I think is ok for Vietnam) he got angry and yelled at me to give him more. So just go alone and don’t use any service of local people as it will destroy your experience of this place.
Adam Č — Google review
If you have desert in your country don’t go You will pay extra money when you get there Beach Buggy like 800000 k which is so much for that

Visitors can explore the natural beauty of the area, including the red and white dunes, tranquil fishing villages, and local markets. The Bay Mui Ne offers beachfront accommodations with easy access to attractions like Long Beach Pearl Museum and Tropical Minigolf. Guests can enjoy amenities such as complimentary Wi-Fi, tour assistance, and on-site dining options.
It's a mix of both clean and not so clean beaches. Most resort adjoining the beach have maintained well. The open places are more occupied by the local fishermen. All in all a good walk during evening to enjoy the weather..

We are there to celebrate my birthday last nov. 28 we stay at Meraki Oasis Hotel who has this very beautiful infinity pool. The wave is very high and strong during that time so I dont recommend swimming on the beach. So many local seafood restaurant. This place is very accessible from HCMC so if you want to escape the bustle of the city come in this tranquil beach place.
Leo I — Google review
Beach is more or less gone - there are some parts of sand at some resorts and at the western end (Kite surfing school) and at Papa Kite school, where I got my birthday Kite day! (great) The water is green brownish (5.Dec) the clouds are grey...
Torsten S — Google review
Beach experience was ok, water was semi clean, and the fresh seafood was delicious. Wasn’t crowded which was perfect, was very quiet and peaceful overall
James N — Google review
Stunning beautiful beach, but you can't swim. The undercurrent is so strong that just having a paddle in the water nearly takes your feet from under you. You can't sunbathe it's impossible. The wind is around 34 knts constant. The best conditions for surfing, etc. I'm not sure if the wind ever actually dies down.
Diane L — Google review
Very beautiful view 😍😍 I like it but it is not thing there that much. It is very peaceful 🤤
Nattapob P — Google review
Dirty, a lot of dead fish & squid thrown out of the sea (I don’t know what’s causing this). Only good for kitesurfing. The sunset spot is more for swimming.
Julia K — Google review
April 2024. I couldn’t be more disappointed. It has nothing in common with the photos. Not a single palm tree. The beach is full of rubbish. It is free but simply not maintained. Next to it there are some abandoned resorts. In about 5 minutes walk you may settle on private resort beaches where there is no trash on the sand but still some in the water.

Mui Ne Fishing Village is a charming residence for local fishermen and a picturesque anchorage for colorful fish boats on the emerald green sea. The village features bustling fish markets where locals exchange and purchase fresh catches every morning, including crabs, shrimp, and various types of fish from the traditional basket boats. Visitors can witness the lively scene at dawn as fishermen sort through an array of seafood such as scallops, groupers, crabs, and stingrays.
Go here for 630am. Don’t do a tour that brings you in the middle of the day as you will not experience it in its true form. At 6am all the finishing boats are in the and market opens. I have never seen so many different types of fish in my life, some which I didn’t even know what they were.
Kay G — Google review
We just saw it from the top besides the street tho despite the smell, the view is really pretty! bit magical if i can say!
Valensia S — Google review
Worth to see and take pictures, no tickets needed. Just great view from Main Street
Kamil S — Google review
Fishing village looks like a garbage dump. Waste all over the place. People are friendly but they should start caring about their environment!
Bumma V — Google review
Calling it a village is really a misnomer. It's a few sun umbrellas in the sand with some folks selling fish and shell fish. We walked some way on the beach and there was some activity of people repairing fishing nets but little else. The beach here is dirty and littered with plastic and old nets. The view out to sea of the fishing boats and coracles is the best part.
David E — Google review
Never saw so much dirt and trash on a beach. This place could be a touristic goldmine, but they do their very best to chase away people. Not worth going.
Alex T — Google review
It is a unique place. I happened to be here on sunset and had the best views walking by the shore and watching the sun set into the sea of boats - breathtaking (also literaly as it is not easy to breathe everywhere)

(Translated by Google) The price is 15,000 VND per adult. When you arrive, you will have about 20-30 minutes to find a small waterfall(?) with water falling at the end of the fairy spring. Personally, I wasn't very impressed and just had the impression that water was coming out of here... to a certain degree. If you walk, it will take more than 20 minutes to get there, so if you don't have much time, I think it would be wise to just look at the map, see only two-thirds of the way, and take pictures of good-looking scenery along the way. Rather than thinking about seeing something at the fairy spring, take a cool walk with the water flowing at your feet and take some nice photos. It would be a good idea to approach it with this mindset.

Jibe's Beach Club - Suoi Nuoc is a popular spot that has been around since December 2000. It offers a sports bar atmosphere where you can catch your favorite international sporting events while enjoying a variety of food and drinks. The menu includes Western breakfast, burgers, pizzas, and delicious seafood with local flavors. The beach club also provides romantic views and cozy seating areas for guests to relax. Additionally, it hosts rooftop parties and buffets attracting many visitors.
It’s beach front bar restaurant. We stay at Full Moon Villlage Resort and the Clubs is belong to the Resort. We ate all meals in here. We really like Seafood BBQ Set (clams, shrimps, squid, fish, beef, chicken and side dishes) and price is just nearly 45$ for 2, but its enough for our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids), the photo you saw is just side dishes of the Set.

We are staying in Ham Tien and decided to make the journey to jibes today in search of a chilled beach to relax on. We were not disappointed. The beach here is gorgeously rustic and clean. Food at jibes was delicious and reasonable. We really enjoyed our day here and can highly recommend it if you want a nice chilled day.

Nice and chill restaurant. Had 2 tables outside facing the beach. It was empty when we went for dinner on a Monday night. The banana lassi (requested for no sugar) was easily the best lassi I've ever had. They use edible straws made from flour. We also had Saigon beer, passionfruit/dragonfruit juice, claypot fried rice (shrimps and fish - barracuda) and homemade spinach ricotta ravioli in pesto sauce (a little bland). Fried rice was not bad. About 10 to 20 usd for main courses. There's also western food and appetizers on the menu. We were able to get the staff to drop us off at our resort (1km away) on his motorbike for approximately 1 usd.

Malibu Beach in Mui Ne, Vietnam may not be the most pristine or easily accessible, but it offers a unique charm and local vibe. While some areas along the resorts are clean and secluded, others may require effort to find a spot that suits your preferences. The growing tourism has prompted locals to take measures in keeping the beaches clean. Despite this, once you find your spot, the views are stunning.
The restaurant inside was not that impress, but the beach save it all. It's a beach where we will have the fishing boat, a little waves, coconut trees, alittle sunshine.

This beach is full of trash. Mostly occupied by resorts and kitesurf schools there is no a clean spot away from them to sit on the sand. Definitely not a beach to swim and relax on the sand... Maybe for a walk on low tide or do watersports (very windy)

Grossest beach I have ever seen in my life. Completely full of trash. Do not come here. Pictures do not show how much rubbish is everywhere. After leaving this beach I felt sad, frustrated and helpless for the rest of the day. Seeing this was a lesson- this is the reality.
Martha R — Google review
Amazing beach for kitesurfing or to just watch kitesurfers .

Heart breaking - this beach looked more like a landfill. Waste colonialism is real, folks! Swell was decent but needs an off shore wind.
Amelia M — Google review
Decent restaurant! Prices are not so average for a low key traveller... food was pretty good. Hilarious watching the workers collect snails on the beach everyday. Nice local vibes. Beautiful spot on the beach, beside the kite surfing shop which is very convenient for food and drinks! Would definitely like to stay here.

The beach is ok. Good to cool down. Beach has been cleaned up a bit more than some of the photos but be mindful to watch your stuff.

There is so much trash that it makes you want to cry. It could be very nice beach, but it is totally ruined by very cruel people.
