This is the most beautiful show I’ve ever seen in my life. The performance is exquisitely arranged, with stunning props and world-class effects, yet it still preserves the traditional essence in both the story and the music. Even the mini shows are highly entertaining, with not a single moment that disappoints. I would truly recommend everyone to experience this at least once in their lifetime.

This show was like watching the Olympics opening ceremony... it blew my mind! An absolute must if you are travelling through Hoi An. VIP tickets were definitely worth it - comfier seats, air conditioning, fruit and water and a full view of the entire stage! The lighting, choreo, music and sheer number of performers was nothing short of spectacular and considering they run it every night (except Tuesdays) is phenomenal

Located separately on an island, there is a boat that takes us out to watch the show. The performance is great, with beautiful and impressive visuals. However, it can be difficult for foreign visitors who don’t understand much about Vietnamese history and culture. Still, it’s worth coming for the visual experience

We had an absolutely great time at the Hoi An Memory Show! The main show is a must-watch — truly spectacular — and there are several smaller performances worth seeing too. The place is well-managed, beautifully lit, and perfect for clicking photos. Highly recommended for an unforgettable evening!

What a beautiful show it is and must do if you're in Hoi An. We bought the high tickets which we thought were perfect. We had a perfect view. Eco looked overwhelming with all the people and no back rest. VIP was not needed either. The whole show was done very professionally and was beautifully told. We didn't eat inside, but they had lots of options.

Hoi An can either be gimicky or authentic, it’s all in what you choose to do and how you do it. I’ve caught some things in other reviews that visitors have gotten wrong so want to help shift expectations. If you take tours for everything you’ll often get quite touristy things and if you do it on your own or follow my list, you’ll get a more locally inspired experience. When it comes to Memories Land and the show, I recommend going if you: 💛like Disney 💛like cruises 💛appreciate a good production 💛want to understand the history of Hoi An 💛are ok with being outside and/or 💛have kids Set your expectations: 🤔Only the VIP section is covered from the rain 🤔It’s a representation of the town, a clean and shiny version of it but still photo worthy 🤔The show is outside without fans so drinking water and having a personal fan helps 🤔You can’t take professional photography but can for personal purposes I live here and have gone twice and loved the storyline, it’s genuinely helped me to understand the culture and history. The costumes are beautiful and the dancing is elegant. The stage is massive and the cast is large, the pyrotechnics are bold, and the lighting is engaging. It’s quite an impressive show and can be a really enriching part of your trip if you follow my tips above. Hope you enjoy!

Fantastic cultural show but unfortunately the screen displaying the subtitles are spaced out too far apart so it was hard to read & we couldn’t follow the story properly. The costumes were brilliant & colour. The cast of scores performed magnificently. The choreography was well practised. Highly recommended.

A great spot to unwind, An Bang Beach offers a clean stretch of sand, plenty of shade under beach huts, and rows of loungers perfect for relaxing. The beachfront is lined with a mix of thatched umbrellas and green canvas canopies, giving it a tropical feel. There’s a safety net installed along the swimming area which is a thoughtful touch, especially on busier days. The beach was clean and pleasant to walk along barefoot. At the top of the beach, you’ll find a long line of restaurants and bars. Most of the better spots (and better prices) are on the right-hand side if you’re facing the ocean – definitely worth walking all the way down to compare. It can get quite crowded during the hotter afternoons, but that only adds to the lively vibe. Whether you’re in the mood for a swim, a sunbathe, or a chilled coconut under a hut, this beach delivers a great afternoon escape.

Very nice and cleaner than I thought from reading reviews. Very very long walkable beach with sand. Sand can get very hot so make sure to bring footwear. Otherwise the water is nice and clear and you do not need water shoes. Not much to snorkel here but if you have goggles there are some different fish to see as well as occasional jellyfish… The beach chairs and umbrellas are free if you order food and drinks from the restaurants which own those chairs…

Clean, beautiful stretch of beach. Warm water, soft sand, and calm waves perfect for the whole family. Plenty of good restaurants lined along the beach, if you order food from them then you dont have to pay the lounger and umbrella. We are lucky that we are staying just a good 5 minutes walk away from the beach. During our stay, we get to do our early morning walk and swim in the morning.

An Bang Beach in Hoi An is a beautiful and relaxing spot with soft sand and clear water. It’s a great place to swim, walk, or just unwind by the sea. There are plenty of beachside cafes and restaurants where you can grab a drink or meal while enjoying the view. It can get a bit crowded later in the day, but the atmosphere is laid-back and friendly. A perfect place to spend a sunny afternoon in Hoi An.

Wide, expansive golden sands meet calm waters (not the clearest, but overall fine)—perfect for relaxing strolls. Super pleasant vibe with tons of beachfront restaurants offering fresh eats right on the sand. Rented a surfboard easily and had a blast catching waves. Highly recommend!

Some places are extremely crowded, while others are quite quiet. There are various water and beach activities that can be freely enjoyed. The sand is also clean and allows to walk barefoot. However, in some areas near abandoned places, there is low maintenance, resulting in trash, broken glass, and trees.

Hoi An's night view was absolutely stunning! The boat ride was an amazing experience, with its aesthetic beauty leaving a lasting impression. Ticketing was hassle-free, with tickets available within minutes. However, Fabric shop prices were steep, being about three times the original price. There was lantern making classes as well .The only downside was the overwhelming crowd, even on weekdays - I can only imagine how busy it gets on weekends! On the bright side, the numerous eating joints near the lake added to the picturesque scenery, making it a truly memorable experience.

Exploring the Hoi An Night Market is a wonderful experience. Walking through the vibrant lantern lit street is amazing and magical. It is lively atmosphere, with a mix of modern and traditional. Enjoyed exploring the different colorful stalls, sharpening my bargaining skills, trying out delicious street foods. It's about feeling the warmth and charm of the locals.

Definitely must visit if you are in Danang. Recommend to set off around 3pm from Danang, as the weather will be cooler by then. Goods sold at the market are similar everywhere else, so you are really going for the vibes and night lights. Releasing the lanterns to make a wish is a popular activity, and you can see a long line of people queuing. Overall we had a great half day at Hoi An!

We enjoyed the atmosphere in the evening. All those lanterns gives it a magical vibe. Of course, millions of souvenirs, but we were not pushy approached to buy something. Except maybe by the old ladies selling the paper lanterns that float on the river.

When travelling in Danang or Hoian, it is definitely worthy of your time and effort to embrace and emboss these in your lifetime memories. These memories are priceless. Watch it. We have enjoyed many cultural live performances in many countries and cities, and TEH DAR is the best. It is truly world-class, which no one should miss. Nothing comes close. Live, powerful reciting, singing, and powerful drumming. Endless powerful acrobatics, stunts, and dance moves. 3 words-INTENSE, POWERFUL, SKILFUL. I'm truly surprised by our enjoyment and emotions on the performers' commitments, as nothing was exposed or disclosed online, as STRICTLY no photography and filming during the 1-hour exciting nonstop acrobatics stunning performance. We have enjoyed both Memories of Hoian and Teh Dar. Sorry Memories, Teh Dar comes first. All Vietnamese must be proud of their homebred talent! These performers may look normal in photos. It was my 3rd time going back and watching this show. Still beingl touched and full of emotion. We are the only 3 Vietnamese participants for that night and feel so proud about their work - THANK YOU for showing the world our lovely culture. This is a MUST SEE show, seriously. One of the best local entertainment I have seen on holidays. An amazing co-ordination of athleteism within local culture. A fantastic circus show delivered perfectly by a troop of performers with such enthusiasm that shows they love to entertain and enjoy.

Hoi An’s Bamboo Circus - Fantastic unique experience - rivalling Cirque du Soleil in mesmerising skill , strength , music , energy and entertainment ! Only an hour long in the special Bamboo theatre . All seats have a great view - but VIP gives you a welcome drink and the best seats in the house . Don’t miss this - you won’t be disappointed you were able to witness this special experience . Plus you have the opportunity to have your photo taken with the troup afterwards .

GO SEE IT! Truly incredible performance, one of the best live shows I’ve ever seen. I hesitated a bit with the price in relation to what you can get with that money in Vietnam (pro tip the budget seats are great, small venue means no bad seat) but the show is jaw dropping and amazing and the artists and crew deserve nothing less. Important work to showcase indigenous central highland cultures and it was so beautifully and skillfully executed I wish I could see it all again, I never wanted it to end. Next time I’ll catch the sister performance in Ho Chi Minh

Very intensive show with women and men acrobatics. Its quite pricey for 700k per person but I think its worth it. You are not allowed to take photos or videos durring the show.

Amazing show, highly recommend coming to see the show if in Hoi An! The performers were all amazing, an incredible amount of skill from all involved!

They have big sizes which was hard to find around Hoi An. They have 5XLs (which are honestly like an XXL outside of Vietnam hahaha!) staff were kind and even fetched new Ao Dai’s for us in their homes.

The ladies at this shop were SO RUDE. We asked them for a specific style of ao dai, they didn't have it, so they tried to show us dozens of other styles, none of which we wanted. We wanted a specific style and none of the ones they showed us matched that style. We tried to leave but they kept showing us more and more dresses that didn't match what we asked them for. And we speak vietnamese so language was not the issue. When we politely declined and left, they screamed at us out the store and into the street. Absolutely horrible service. Would never recommend this place. We were a large family and wanted to buy multiple dresses but they will never have our business. Stay away from here.

I had a very nice experience! The staff was friendly and flexible with the rental prices and times, and they had a big selection. Loved it!

250k VND for Ao Dai rental. You need to leave your passport or 500k VND as a deposit. Staffs are friendly and helpful.

Old House of Tan Ky in Hoi An was very crowded like the rest of the town. There was nothing much to see inside. If you have extra time, then you can visit. It’s a small traditional house, but not a must-visit.

If you're in Hoi An, you have to check out the Tan Ky House! It’s right on the Thu Bon River and is an awesome example of a classic Hoi An merchant's home. Even though it's been around for a while, the house still has this really unique vibe and some super cool stories. You'll get to see how the old merchants did business on the river, check out their unique pulley system, and just admire all the cool architecture. It’s a perfect place to really feel the history and see the true beauty of Hoi An.

Requires ticket to enter. We didn’t have any so donated some money at the entrance. This house is one of the oldest near the river and stood strong during many floods and the family still lives on upper floor and they only come here at 7pm. The place closes at 5pm anyway. The whole house is made of wood and there are many “mother of pearl” furnitures which are absolutely stunning! Must visit place if you are curious.

Tan Ky Old House was built in 1741. It is the place where 7 generations of Le family have lived. The name “Tan Ky” was used by Mr. Le Tan Ky (the second generation). At that time, this house was used to trade agricultural products. The front of the house is Nguyen Thai Hoc street while the back is Bach Dang street facing Hoai river. At that time, Hoi An was still a busy international trading port with many Japanese, Chinese and Western merchant ships. Therefore, the location of the house is convenient for trading goods. For a long time, Tan Ky Old House has suffered from many floods. Especially in 1964, the flood reached the first floor of the house. However, the house has remained miraculously over the years. In the area selling souvenirs for visitors, you can see flood markers in the house. It is not the oldest house of Hoi An but this is the first ancient house that was pointed “Cultural Work” by the Ministry of Culture and Information in Hoi An since 1985.

Beautiful house with plenty of history behind,they slimed everything here is conserved from ancient times but I kind of and again kind of doubt I’m gonna have to trust, which is true this is a very beautiful and pleasant and most likely one of the most interesting places to visiting within ancient time Although not the best that comes with own preference, I do enjoy temples better and unfortunately capacity here should be controlled, they won’t do it, money is more important Shame

Great to see this old building, still lived in by the latest generation family. Free tour inside to tell you all about it but they will try and sell you souvenirs at the end. Tickets must be purchased elsewhere in the local ticket office.

Beautiful historical house. You can sense the grandeur when it was in it's heydays. With the current generation still residing here, it really is living history. Well worth a visit.

This is such a cool cultural site to see. I took a pottery class for only a few USD (and now have a handmade souvenir to take home with me) and walked around and saw some really beautiful art. The terracotta pieces around the village and within the museum are huge but filled with intricate details that tell different stories about Vietnam. You pay a small fee to enter the village that helps support its residents and their work, and it also covers a small clay souvenir of your choice. Just a really neat place overall.

Super nice activity for kids and family, pick a little shop and make your own! Biking distance from Hoi An old quarter. Entrance fee 35k and remember to pick up your little gift with your ticket code bar at the designated gift shop on ticket. 50 to 100k per person to make yr own and have fun!

Visit only if you have plenty of time in hoi an. This place is far from main town area. Tickets cost 35k vnd pp where you can choose a souvenir pp from any of the 3 shops they mention. Ticket wasn’t actually necessary as you walk through the lanes and many local shops have same pottery classes and stuffs to sell. Pottery making experience is free with the ticket , but they insist you very much on buying and some places even charge you extra 50k for the pottery making experience. So ask before you start. At one place they said the experience is free and I tried my hands. But they helped me a lot to make the product look good so that I end up buying it. We couldn’t take it with us as we didn’t have space in luggage and it is delicate and have to wait until it dries up. So we had some drinks at the same place which was reasonably priced and very delicious. The place name is cafe GOM. Souvenir- its a cute animal where you can blow whistle! There is also a pottery museum and the tickets cost extra. We did not go here.

pleasantly surprised as I had never visited a pottery museum before. Entrance fee VND50k. Learned quite a bit about the tradition & history of pottery making in Vietnam..Should visit if you are interested in anything made of clay .Need to be careful when viewing the sculptures and pottery and would advise against bringing young children..they have a small workshop behind for those interested and small cafe.

Beautiful spot for coffee. The coffee was superb and the service was impeccable. Loved talking to Lola. Will be back daily! Tried the coconut coffee - too sweet for my taste buds but very pleasant. The black iced coffee was spectacular. Bonus coconut biscuits.

My husband found this relaxed spot, serving our best Vietnamese coffee! The owner’s were the loveliest, and made the experience of sipping coffee even more special! Lola taught us the Vietnamese way of sipping your coffee and staying to savour and relax! We even went back for coffee here when we were staying at An Bang beach 🤎

Wow! What an absolute gem of a place. From luxurious Egg Coffee, to the cheapest beer in Hoi An and the loveliest hosts. Great place to relax and unwind. So good we came twice a day, everyday for our stay in Hoi An.

We really loved everything here and even came two days in a row. The coffee ist absolutely delicious, also the juices. But the best are the owners, who really make everything to make you comfortable. It was very interesting to meet Lola, the owner, who speaks really good English and told us a lot about the culture here.

We cycled to this coffee shop from our hotel and it was definitely worth it. The best coffee I have had in Hoi An, and probably Vietnam - I had the iced Vietnamese black coffee which was amazing. The coconut crackers were a lovely addition, and the coconut cookies are a must try! Ran by the kindest and nicest man too. A must visit if you’re in the area!

Eco Life Coffee and Bar is a hidden gem on the quieter east side of Hoi An’s busy tourist area — the perfect escape from the overpriced and crowded coffee shops in the center. I found this place through Google’s glowing 5.0-star reviews (300+ and counting), and it absolutely lives up to the hype. They care deeply about quality — using their own regularly maintained reverse osmosis water filtration system for all drinks, instead of relying on factory ice that can sometimes be questionable. The coffee here is amazing, and the prices are noticeably lower than in the tourist hot spots. Every cup is made with care. I ordered three iced drinks, and while waiting I was treated to an iced herbal drink and coconut crackers — such a warm and thoughtful touch. The coconut coffee I ordered was spot-on delicious! If you want quality coffee, friendly service, and a peaceful vibe while supporting a great local business, Eco Life Coffee and Bar is a must-visit in Hoi An.

We were so lucky to have Ehrin as our wedding photographer! Planning an overseas wedding is pretty nerve racking, but after finding MWeddings on Google, looking at Ehrin's work and being in email/Skype contact I felt confident our photos would turn out amazing. I have just worked with Ehrin on a wedding in Hoi An and his photos were beautiful. It was a busy wedding day including 4 dress changes and 2 ceremonies and he captured the real feeling and look of the day.

It was a coincidence that we ran across Ehrin's profile while preparing for our wedding back in 2011. At that time, Ehrin was already a very accomplished photographer and although he had not done much photo wedding in Vietnam, we decided to give it a try. Lots of souvenirs to buy but found it much cheaper in Danang. There were lots of cafe and their foods/drinks were great. The Old town area is vibrant at night. No wonder it’s called the City of Lanterns. If given a chance, would definitely be back.

If you want to get a real street food experience in Hoi An, you have to go to the Central Market! They have a ton of traditional dishes there for a super affordable price. Even though the market can get pretty crowded with tourists, it still feels really traditional and is a great place to try local food.

Travel Cafe Eat Drink - Malaysia & Asia Having late lunch at my regular stall inside Hoi An wet market. Prices here are much cheaper than outside. Varieties here are good and very local taste.

Hoi An down town side walking street and river side is beautiful. All around shops with Lanterns, street of cloth, souvenirs and full of cafes, bar and eating joints. Places to visit is there cultural show, assembly hall, Japanese bridge.

Everything you need fresh. Also all commodities for kitchen and a million other small stuff.. Massive amounts of tailors etc. Make sure to come early in the morning for the most fresh food.

A must visit place to buy lanterns, try wonderful coffee and making memories under lanterns filled roads or boats. Do try their 30min boat ride for a lifetime experience

Overall is great make sure bring along mini fan, hat and apply lots of sunscreen. Great view however the price selling is overpriced from what I see. Need lots of bargain. Is lovely landscape and photo ops area. Different part of DaNang. Those that ride on bike please make sure keep the helmet inside the bike. We lost one there

We were staying in Danang but decided to make the trip out to Shore Club, and it was definitely worth the drive. The vibe was relaxed, with plenty of different seating options whether you wanted to be in the shade or soaking up the sun. The entire venue and its facilities were impressively clean for a beach club. The menu was extensive. We tried the pizza and prawns, both were absolutely delicious. Booking a day bed via WhatsApp was quick and easy and from the moment we arrived until the moment we left, the staff were consistently friendly and attentive. We’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a laid-back beach experience just outside the city.

Great spot to sit near the water and a very tasty and fresh lunch meal and colorful drinks enjoyed by all. Would definitely recommend spending a half day here relaxing by the beach and pool.

The atmosphere is calm, elegant, and welcoming, with most of the guests being polite, respectful, and international travelers, which adds to the refined vibe. The staff here are exceptionally friendly and gentle, creating a very pleasant and relaxing dining experience. Even though the restaurant is right by the sea, they’ve thoughtfully added a small swimming pool – a fantastic bonus for families. It’s perfect for keeping children entertained and safe while adults enjoy their meal without worry. The food is absolutely outstanding – fresh ingredients, beautifully prepared, and presented with great attention to detail. Every dish we tried was delicious and exceeded expectations. The drinks menu is also diverse and well thought out. The only small improvement I would suggest is with the water pressure in the restrooms, which is quite low. Installing a booster pump would make the water flow stronger and bring the facilities up to the same high standard as the restaurant’s service and food quality, especially given the price range. Overall, this place delivers an excellent dining experience and I look forward to returning.

Really sad to leave this review, we had a lovely day. Unfortunately within an hour this afternoon of eating, husband has been violently ill to a point we will likely need to seek medical attention for him . Through the day he had: Pork skewers, oysters, garlic bread and drinks including a Vietnam coffee. Horrid way to end a nice relaxing day🤬. We are due to fly out tomorrow, but at this point it’s looking unlikely. Unfortunately we cannot pinpoint it to any particular dish. Please enjoy the location but be warned about food and drinks.

Great Beach Club, if you reside in one of the closest by hotels, sun beds are for free. There are sun beds directly on the beach as well as by the pool upstairs. Food is lovely and the staff very attentive and friendly. You can rent body boards and tubes.

Good place to just relax/chill and enjoy the vibes with some delicious food. Pool and massage by the beach provided as well! We visited around sun set and sat around for a while and was lucky to see the full moon. Beautifully done space. Worth a visit if you’re around Hoi An. Totally different vibe compared to the old town and touristy area.

Opinion is my own, this is the most beautiful temple of this town. Absolutely gorgeous “building” with part of history behind not only pictures are amazing here but sitting there and enjoying a quiet time is priceless. We visited this Chinese temples in downtown Hoi An as part of our Old Town ticket. It was a unique experience to light large incense coils and wish for health and fortune for our family and friends. After the coils burn out, the staff apparently will burn the paper with our wishes, making them feel sacred. It was fascinating to see wishes from all over the world written in various languages. Overall, a beautiful and meaningful stop in Hoi An!

A stunningly ornate and peaceful spot right in the heart of Hoi An Ancient Town. The intricate Chinese architecture, colourful tiled roofs, and detailed wood carvings are breathtaking. Built by 17th-century Fujian settlers, the hall is dedicated to Thien Hau, the Sea Goddess, and you can feel the spiritual atmosphere as soon as you walk in. The courtyards are filled with bonsai, incense, and traditional lanterns, making it a photographer’s dream. There’s a sense of history and cultural pride in every corner, and it’s well worth taking time to admire the craftsmanship. A must-visit if you want to explore the Chinese heritage of Hoi An.

The Phuc Kien (Fukien) Assembly Hall at 46 Tran Phu Street is dedicated to Thien Hau or Mazu, who is the goddess of the sea and the protector of sailors. The hall serves the Fukienese community, which is the largest ethnic Chinese group in Hoi An. You'll also find altars here for the 'Six Highly Esteemed Generals,' a group of men who fought against the new Qing dynasty during the end of the Ming dynasty. And women can pray to the Heavenly Midwives here for a safe and successful pregnancy.

Among the ancient streets of Hoi An, the Fujian Assembly Hall feels like a bridge between time and memory. As I stepped through its ornate gate, the scent of incense mixed with sea breeze, and for a moment, I felt the echo of travelers who once sailed here from Fuchien, bringing not just trade, but faith and longing. The hall is beautifully preserved — dragons curl along the roofs, guardian lions stand alert, and the main altar glows with offerings to Mazu, the Goddess of the Sea. Locals still come quietly to light incense, their gestures gentle, familiar, and full of devotion. It’s not just a tourist site; it’s a living shrine that still breathes with the rhythm of prayers. What touched me most was the feeling of continuity — the same gods once worshiped in my ancestors’ homeland, now standing gracefully on this foreign shore. In the silence of the courtyard, under the soft rattle of wind chimes, I felt both far from home and completely at home.

My detailed review: I must say, I am absolutely fascinated by the Lune Center for the Performing Arts. 👏🏻 As someone who trains in aerial sports, I can confidently say that the performers did an outstanding job! I’ve watched many professional aerial competitions, but I’ve rarely seen what I saw here during the Bamboo Show. That alone speaks volumes about the performers professionalism, strength, and precision. The show itself is breathtaking, with stunning visual effects, a captivating storyline, and mind-blowing performances that left me speechless. More than half the time, my jaw was literally on the floor watching the insane tricks they pulled off on stage. The performers interacted beautifully with the audience and were completely immersed in their roles, it truly felt like being part of the story. 🥰 The staff was also wonderful: we received welcome drinks, clear instructions, and helpful suggestions before the show began. It’s worth noting that photography and video recording are strictly prohibited (the show is protected by copyright), and food or drinks are not allowed inside the theater, which I completely understand and respect. ⭐ My advice: There’s just one thing I think future visitors should know, the seating difference. There are three seat categories: 🎟️ Best (1,600,000 VND) 🎟️ Good (1,050,000 VND) 🎟️ Eco (700,000 VND) When we asked the staff whether the Eco seats were good, they told us we would barely see anything from there. Because of that, we purchased the Good seats for 1,050,000 VND. However, once we entered the theater, we realized that the venue isn’t that big, visibility is actually great from almost every seat. The difference between the seat categories isn’t huge, and you can enjoy the performance perfectly even from the Eco seats. We’re not dissapointed, the performers absolutely deserve every dong we paid ❤️ But I wanted to share this so that visitors have a more accurate expectation. Of course, the Best seats offer the best view, but the overall difference is not significant. To make a long story short... If you’re visiting Hoi An, don’t miss the Bamboo Show. It’s a world-class performance full of art, culture, emotion, and pure talent. All compliments to the performers 🥰❤️👏🏻

This show is as good as any Cirque du Soleil! There are no bad seats, no blocked views, and the front row is ankle level with the stage so don't have to worry about being too low in the front. They are very strict about not letting you film or take pictures during the show so I can't leave you any photos, but you will not be disappointed.

💎 Real art doesn’t entertain. It awakens. I didn’t expect a performance to reach that deep. Everything — the sound, the light, the movements, the rhythm of bamboo — felt alive. Kind of ancient ritual where a person remembers who they are. At some point I realized I was crying — from beauty, from how honest and human it all was. This is the kind of art you don’t “watch”, you feel through your body.

This was incredible quality. From the architecture of the theatre to the performance itself. If you were like us and trying to decide between this show and the Memories show, I think if you like the theatre and performance already this will be your dream show. The 700,000 dong seats are perfectly fine too. A wonderful night.

Her customer service was impeccable – warm, attentive, and professional, with a genuine passion for art. What impressed me most was the way Thien explained the wonder of Impressionist photography. She shared not just technical details, but also the deeper artistic vision behind Réhahn’s works, helping me see photography as a dialogue between light, time, and emotion. It was both educational and inspiring. Although I am currently traveling for several months and cannot purchase a larger format piece right now, I am seriously considering making a purchase once I return to Europe. Really lovely museum and the photographs are incredible. Ngoc was great and really went above and beyond for us, offering to get the picture I bought signed and delivered to my hostel that same night for no extra charge. I can not wait to hang the picture up at home. They also gave out mini postcards to each visitor.

We had a fantastic dinner here during our trip to Vietnam. We were a group of seven friends and really enjoyed the fusion twist of the dishes. We started by sharing some Vietnamese spring rolls that were packed with flavor — a perfect way to begin the meal. For mains, most of us had seafood risottos, which were well-balanced and delicious, while others tried the BBQ ribs — tender, tasty, and full of smoky flavor. The atmosphere was warm and friendly, and you could tell the food was prepared with care and attention. But what truly made the evening special was the staff: incredibly welcoming, attentive, and helpful throughout. They really made us feel at home. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a relaxed and flavorful dining experience with great service!

Amazing dinner spot with fantastic service from Yen. Great take on Vietnamese cuisine with locally sourced herbs picked directly from the garden. Although it is the hotel’s restaurant, I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting Hoi An. I attach two of the things we ate, lamb with rice cakes and the curry.

When you're in Hoi An, you shouldn't miss this old house right next to the Japanese Bridge and the Hoi An Book Shop. It was probably built in the early 1800s, and its most unique feature is the two-story covered atrium, which might have been influenced by Japanese design. You can buy a ticket to go inside and check out the whole place.

My first negative experience as a tourist in Vietnam; not massively negative but leaving an unpleasant feeling. We were not made to feel welcome - indeed one member of staff was talking to the woman showing us table cloths, looking at my wife and I not in a friendly way, while laughing. Enough to activate my paranoid fantasies, which is not a good feeling to associate with a place.

Phung Hung ancient house was included in the last part of Monkey Mountain – Marble Mountains – Coconut Jungle – Hoi An City Full-day tour, wherein our tour guide walked us through the old town , JApanese and chinese influenced towns. Wonderfully maintained, and gives a sneak peak at the history and past.

It is an old building with furniture and plaques that are over 100 years old. But it's in bad maintenance . And the staff sold all kinds of souvenirs, which made people feel a little disappointed. These ancient buildings and furniture can be better protected.

The house itself was interesting but I was quite disappointed at the guides/owners of the house because I experienced blatant racism and rudeness from them because I was south East Asian looking and I noticed other south East Asians were treated the same way as I was in that house. I got in, they immediately checked my ticket but ignored me soon after even when I was trying to ask about the history house. However, when there were some Caucasian people coming in, they a few of them started guiding them around telling them about the history about the house. I had to ask them point blank if one has to pay for a guide to talk about the house (which I was happy to pay for) in order to learn about the house. They said no, it’s all free and told me to listen into the people who got in at least 20 min after I did, were then greeted immediately and chauffeured by the guide in French. When I explained to them that I didn’t understand French, the lady rolled her eyes at me and then reluctantly they asked another person to guide me in English then pressured me to buy their embroideries. There was definitely element of racism there because of my appearance and perhaps they feel I don’t have the same spending power in the house. I felt quite upset by the entire experience if I were treated better I would have bought things to support that family like I have done in the other houses. I feel like this house didn’t have much to offer and didn’t understand why it was recommended in some guide books I read as I had far better experience in other houses where the guides treated everyone fairly and respectfully and houses were more interesting to explorer.

We found this restaurant on Google maps and with the good reviews we wanted to try it out. Our experience was really good. Staff were very professional, attentive and kind. Ambiance was nice with French music being calmly played in the background. Food was also excellently prepared and nicely served. The meat was medium-rare, “the only way they would allow it” and I agree, it was really tasty. Desserts were also nice with the chocolate fondant being the favorite of the evening. If you are looking for a restaurant that offers French / European style food with high quality, finesse and excellent taste, then this is the place to go.

The steak was delicious, cooked to a perfect rare. It tasted best with pink salt and pepper, as sauces aren’t really the restaurant’s strength — they mostly offer common ones like mayonnaise or ketchup. The steamed clams with cheese were excellent. We dined here and came back again two days later — both times were satisfying. The staff were very friendly. The restroom was clean and odor-free. We’ll definitely visit again when we return to Hoi An.

We LOVED our dinner at Le Petit Bistro. The food was not only delicious but the service was wonderful as well. We had the duck confit, Lamb Shank, Clams and pate. With all of that still made room for crème brûlée for dessert. A well deserving visit if you are In Hoi An and love French dining.

This is a nice museum to visit while in Hoi An. It is very historical and gives you a lot of information on how Vietnamese lived 200 years ago. Again this part of 5 places you can visit on a ticket from the tourist office however I would not recommend paying an individual fee at the door because it would not be worth it. This is only worth the entry if you select 5 places to visit with the tourist entrance ticket for 120,000.

The Hoi An Museum of Folk Culture is located inside a 150-year-old Chinese trading house, and the exhibits here give you a good idea of what local customs and culture are like. Plus, the view of the river from upstairs is really picturesque.

Sprawled over three streets and two levels, this museum has basic information about folk history. When I left she even gave me a Golden Balm for my tummy. How did she know I was on my period? Vietnamese witchcraft!!

The exhibits and descriptions need a refresh, but it’s still worth a visit as it is the most comprehensive museum in Hoi An. You can also try some local tea. You can take a calligraphy class here and don’t need to buy a second ticket to enter the museum for it.

I was quite impressed by the amount of information on offer in this museum. It gives a good mix of the history of the area alongside some exhibits and artefacts. I'd say it's more historical than folk but I enjoyed reading the information.

Quan Thang House is an old merchant home at 77 Tran Phu Street, said to have been built about 300 years ago. However, this may be too early a date, given that several of the surrounding houses which have been reliably dated are much newer. For example, 65 Tran Phu dates from 1939, and 81 Tran Phu is from 1898. Corner houses on the same block do date from the 18th century—1767 for 47 Le Loi, and 1785 for 53 Tran Phu. Age aside, the home is an excellent example of typical Hoian style merchant architecture.

We walked into this house as part of the tour of the city and the woman said “come back for dinner!” We did, and I can say it was one of the best meal we had in Vietnam so far! We tried all the typical dishes, the white rose, the wonton, and the cao lau. The white rose specifically were delicious!! Also, they are so so kind! Highly recommended ❤️

I bought mine right opposite the Maroc Chocolate shop. ⭐️ Review ⭐️ Quan Thang Old House belongs to the sixth generation of the family that still lives in this traditional Chinese home. Their Fujian ancestors used to run a traditional medicine shop. The family is very welcoming with wonderful hospitality. After such a hot day exploring Old Town, I highly recommend dropping by to have a cup of Iced Vietnamese Tea and to snack on their delicious homemade dishes like the White Rose Dumplings and Spring Rolls. Their prices are personally affordable too!

We visited this ancient house as part of our tour, and the owner was incredibly kind and he shared a bit about his family. They also have a kitchen where they serve food. The deep-fried wontons I had here were the best I've ever tasted, so much so that we returned on both days of our stay in Hoi An! I also enjoyed their chicken rice and white rose dumplings, but I found the cao lau noodles and spring rolls to be just average. They serve fresh cold coconut water, which was refreshing. The staff was very kind and helpful. If you're in Hoi An, you absolutely must try their wontons! PS: You might need your ticket to visit this ancient house.

We received the welcome from Uncle Ho and then the show started. It was a nice experience and each segment was also announced in English. It was fun to watch and experience a water puppet show in Vietnam.

The water puppet show is an opportunity to see traditional Vietnamese performance art. The puppets are quaint and the stories are traditional. I’m glad we saw it but I’m also glad the show only went for 45 minutes.

A novel cultural experience. Reminds us of times when entertainment was simpler. Genrally entertaining 35 minute show which consists of a series of short Vietnamese folklores. While there was limited English narration, it didn't really matter because it all boiled down to the skills of the puppeteers. Overall, good value for 80k VND (40k for children under 12). Go early to choose centre section seat at mid tier level to get the best view.

A great activity for the evening! The show is not too long and I haven't seen anything like it before. Very funny moments and beautiful puppets. Good narration through out and cheap to get a ticket.

Very interesting and fun retelling of Vietnam's village customs in a different way. The puppetry is amusing and very entertaining. The only downside is that the theatre is not in a very nice viewing angle and your sight is easily blocked. Try to get in front of you can.

What an amazing show! We bought our tickets from a tourist shop near the Japanese covered Bridge for $32 each. They included a boat ride down the river to the venue and the Eco seats. It is cheaper to get them this way than through the website. By the way, the show does not run on Tuesday night. Check the signs as you enter the venue - we had the English screen so we could read the story of the performance. We sat central left of stage about half way down. The seats, although a bit hard on soft backsides, were perfect. Don’t sit too close to the front. It is a very big stage area and you won’t see as well. The whole show is beautifully staged and spectacular. It is a stylized and colorful review of the history of Hoi An and it didn’t disappoint. Amazing scenes, props, costumes and sound and very polished performers. Remember you are a ‘captive’ audience so expect to pay a bit more for drinks and nibbles, but this is still only about 20% of Perth prices at venues such as the Arena. This is an absolute MUST DO if you are staying in Hoi An.

Excellent main show, brilliantly done with a stunning combination of lights, music and sound. Worth every cent! Come early to the park, as there are many mini shows throughout the area leading up to the main event. I also recommend getting at least the High Ticket.

This is a must see in my opinion, it's a very good show and it's a great production! The music, lightwork and performances were amazing! It is however a little expensive for Vietnam standards but 100% worth it! I booked it through my hostel for 540k. Another thing is that it's outdoor seating but if it rains they provide free ponchos. The seats are just metal bars so it might be a bit uncomfortable for an hour.

I enjoyed the show. I went twice in a row. It's one of the better things to do in Hoi An if you're looking for something different. The ECO seats in the front filled up quickly and looked a bit crammed. I was in the HIGH section, which filled up slowly until right before the show. The VIP section was up another level. This didn't feel necessary, personally, and was as such a bit farther away. Next time, I'd try sitting closer in ECO just to see what it's like. But the HIGH section was good, with good views. You don't need to get there too, too early otherwise you may be bored waiting for the main show. Just my opinion. You could have dinner elsewhere in Hoi An, then head over to the show about an hour beforehand and have plenty of time to get your seat. People will slowly be trickling in right up until the show officially starts at 8 PM. The ECO section had a long line by 7 PM. But the HIGH section, I was able to wait in line maybe 10 minutes before getting to my seat and having plenty of choices. So 7:15/7:30 PM is fine to be there if you want the HIGH seats. The VIP seats have their own priority entrance. For the show itself, the hour really went by quickly. Even without much dialogue. There's a lot of visuals, a lot of actors, noise, music, fire displays. A lot to keep things interesting.

Tips: It's required to be at least 30-minutes earlier to take place in the queue as it's free seating in the sector; first-third rows are not so good due to the fire elements (can be too hot to stay close).

An amazing show. Spectacular. Make sure to get to Memories Land early enough to watch some of the mini shows in the courtyards and squares. The show has amazing special effects. It cleverly shows the expansion of the region into a bustling trading and business hub weaved into stories about the people. Its well worth going. We got eco tickets which are the ones closest to the stage but are on slatted benches with no back rest and no overhead covers. The vip seats are behind the eco seats. These were individual stadium type seats (with backrests) and had a rain cover. It's first come first served in seating. Be sure to queue in the correct line as the 2 sides of the stadium have different subtitle languages (vietnamese and english on one side and chinese and something else on the other)

I would say this was one of my best stays in Vietnam. It was so relaxing and even the property was nice. They had quick service and they also upgraded us to a villa and who doesn’t love that. 🥰 I would really recommend it if you are planning to visit Hoi An.

Smooth Had the tour where we only arrived by private taxi. No other groups there so we had it all to ourselves which meant everyone took a little extra care of us. So timing can be important. Our teenagers didn't know about the process so they loved it. The tour was well worth it. We did some shopping afterwards where the prices were fixed regardless of volume but the quality is excellent.

Nice and informative excursion on silk production where you can see silk worms and their food, silk-waving machines in process and pure silk and unnatural silk comparison. Welcome mulberry drinks are nice bonus. The main disappointment is the shop: the stuff is polite and helpful, but there're a lot of mix-silk (including synthetic materials) and a few local artist made scarves; the colors are mainly bright. I've bought the only black silk scarf and have been disappointed in finding out the big drawstring with a hole in a scarf for 1200000 dongs which was carefully packed by the stuff.

Nice hotel with 2 large pools, good service, lousy plumbing but at least they were always fast to come fix it. Never could get my bathroom sink to stop dropping. Great A/C, so good that I had to turn the vents upwards. Wonderful breakfast buffet. Lovely garden setting. We stayed in the quadraplex rooms.

Our tour guide (Ms./Mrs. Tình) was very welcoming and friendly, it was a very memorable and interesting tour with a very cheap price, I love it so much and I’d recommend for anyone who loves fashion and craftsmanship

We found this tour so incredibly interesting. Our guide (we forgot her name) was so lovely. In fact all the staff up to the security were so welcoming. This experience I highly recommend. Just arrive and you can pay for the tour , no need to book tickets before hand. We did wait 20 minutes probably for the people before us to complete their tour. There is a possibility you may have to wait longer when it's busy (just speculation). We got a mulberry welcome drink included while we waited. 10/10 in every asepct

Had a wonderful hour experience with Mi (Niece) and Phi (Owner) they were both very warm and welcoming! Mi was wonderful and very helpful getting us started on our lanterns, she was patient and showed me and my wife what to do at each stage. Phi arrived shortly after we begun and supported us also, she spoke great English and was warm and welcoming and very helpful. We enjoyed a latern making class with Phi on our visit to Hoi An. We dropped in without a booking in the middle of the day and had our own private class. Phi and her cousin were very friendly and patient with us and helped us make 2 beautiful lanterns and we received 2 baby laterns for free! Highly recommend this class for a lovely, wholesome activity while in Hoi An!

We did drop and they luckily had room for the three of us. Everyone working was super helpful, and you can order drinks while you work as well. The lantern making process was super cool to learn and Phi was really helpful trying to make it a smooth process and helping during any mistakes we made. Price is quite good for getting to learn to make the lanterns, the final product and the smaller bonus lanterns you can go home with. And if you don’t have time to make a lantern, you can even just buy a premade one at the shop as well. Such a lovely space and definitely a highlight of the trip. The lanterns also collapse so you can easily pack them into ur bag!

He called her and we were booked for a lantern making session. It was just the two of us and we were so thrilled to be able to make the lanterns that we wanted to take back to Saigon with us. Such a lovely experience. The owner was very friendly and helpful. We had a great time making lanterns and received 2 free small lanterns! Lovely choice of fabric with 3 size options and 2 different shapes. The lanterns fold down so will easily fit into a suitcase cases.

Amazing clothes that I still love when I get home. We have been visiting Life with Ha and Quốc for a few years now and we always come back. We have been to many tailors in the past so and never seem right when we get home. Ha’s clothes are very well made and she works to make sure we are always happy.

I had a number of dresses and tops made and Ha was very knowledgeable in the fabrics and style that would suit me. Highly recommend this lovely shop! I had some pictures of dresses that I liked (one of which had pleats and a fairly complicated draping style) and she recreated them beautifully. Lovely choice of fabrics, with everything turned around in less than 24 hours with a fitting, adjustments and then delivery to my hotel. Incredible service! Also very good value … My tour guide had taken me to another, much bigger place and they were going to charge nearly four times as much for the same dresses.

A few kilometres travel from Hoi An, crossing a couple of noisy metal bridges. Local people are going about their lives carving wooden sculptures, making mats and incense. There is also a thriving wooden boat repair industry. A nice and relaxed afternoon away from the hustle and bustle of the old town.

Wonderful to see families still practicing age old trades such as sculpting, carpentry, boat repairs and mat weaving etc. Quite an experience to walk through all the workshops. We walked there from old town and then took a boat back across the river. Quite a nice outing.

Basically two streets with a few shops with their woodworking displays which you can see similar at Hoi An and buy if you wish. A few shops have tables set up outside for you to try wood carving your name and a pattern like a boat, fish or flower on a wooden coupon to takeaway as a souvenir. May see some woodworking demonstrations outside their shop front. Toilets available.
