Specialty Museums
The National Museum of Indonesia, affectionately known as the Elephant Museum, is a treasure trove of historical and archaeological wonders nestled in the heart of Jakarta. This cultural gem showcases an impressive array of artifacts, including ceramics, statues, and coins that span various eras. With its strategic location near iconic landmarks like Istiqlal Mosque and Gereja Cathedral, it’s an ideal stop for anyone exploring the city.
It is a museum you should visit. For foreigners it costs 50.000 Indonesian. It is huge. On ground floor there is a garden full of statues. There is also a basement with cafe. On ground floor you can find the souvenir store. There are another 2 floors. Well air conditioned. I liked the light and the decoration. Very interesting things to see there. You should come and visit it. Also there is the park and the mosque next to it. You can visit them at the same time.
Dimitris V — Google review
If you look forward to validation of what you study as a student, a teacher or a history enthusiast, the National Museum is where to go. Its array of exhibits is so wide that every piece will connect to the one next to it. Dominated by the findings in the ruins of ancient Hindu and Buddhist temples of Central and East Java, they are by no means limited only to Java. East Borneo, among others, also has a contribution on its own. The expo chamber of the museum is the venue for daring and yet encouraging ideas of present Indonesia. It says Indonesia has always existed and will always exist and thrive in the spirits of conservation and refinement.
Yudis R — Google review
Really impressive museum! I learned so much about Indonesia’s history and culture. The place is spacious, clean, and air-conditioned — perfect for a relaxed visit. Loved the ancient statues and gold collections. Highly recommend for both locals and tourists!
Antoni W — Google review
During my trip to Jakarta, I had the chance to visit the Indonesia National Museum, and I’m so glad I did. From the outside, the museum looks grand and welcoming, with its beautiful colonial-style architecture and quiet courtyard. It felt like stepping into a different time. As I walked through the exhibits, I was amazed by how much there was to see — from ancient statues and traditional clothing to artifacts from different islands across the country. One of the highlights for me was the gold and jewelry section, which showcased the incredible craftsmanship of Indonesia’s past civilizations. I also loved the ethnographic displays — they really opened my eyes to the diversity of cultures across the archipelago. Everything was well-organized, and the descriptions were in both Indonesian and English, which made it easy to understand. It’s a peaceful and educational place that gives you a real sense of Indonesia’s rich history. If you’re in Jakarta and want to learn more about the country beyond the tourist spots, this museum is definitely worth a visit.
O D — Google review
PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH THE ARTIFACTS!!! I truly enjoyed this museum. The design has a good flow and the exhibits are well curated with information plaques that read in Indonesian and English. One big issue I have with this museum is the lack of education and security regarding our collective duty to preserve the amazing sculptures on the ground floor. Despite clearly posted signs, many people are touching and leaning on sculptures, some over 1000years old. Parents encourage children to touch and tug on statues with many showing signs of contemporary damage. The smooth blackened stone is from the oils of the hand irrevocably damaging the sculptures. If you choose to visit this museum please show respect not only to the ancient craftsmen, but also to the future generations to come. Please refrain from damaging the cultural heritage of Indonesia 🇮🇩.
Robert L — Google review
A must-visit spot in Jakarta! Museum Nasional Indonesia is a great place to explore the rich history and culture of Indonesia. The collection is impressive from prehistoric artifacts and traditional textiles to royal treasures and ancient statues. Everything is well organized, and the building itself has beautiful colonial architecture 😍 What I liked most was the peaceful atmosphere and the new immersive gallery (ImersifA Room) which brings history to life in a modern way. The staff were friendly, the facilities were clean, and the ticket price was very affordable. It’s also family-friendly and perfect for students or tourists who want to learn more about Indonesia in one place. Some areas are still under renovation due to a previous fire, but most of the main exhibitions are open and worth seeing. Highly recommended if you're in Jakarta and want a meaningful, cultural experience!
Nurul F — Google review
Love the building design which combine traditional and modern design perfectly, and also love the interior design and the lighting setting. Ticket price is affordable (Rp 25,000 for Indonesian adult as per Oct 2025), recommended to buy the ticket online in advance.

Great museum with lots to see and learn about Indonesia’s history and culture. The exhibits are well presented, and the building is beautiful and clean. A good place to spend a few hours exploring.

Nestled in the vibrant Kuningan area of Jakarta, Ciputra Artpreneur is a cultural gem that seamlessly blends art and performance. Spanning an impressive 10,000 square meters, this multifaceted venue features three galleries and a museum showcasing Dr. Ir. Ciputra's private collection, which includes stunning works by renowned artist Hendra Gunawan.
The seats are reasonably comfy—unless you’re over 180 cm, in which case congratulations, you’ve been cast as “human origami.” The seating incline is about as daring as a Jakarta mall escalator, but hey, you can still see the stage even if someone with a gravity-defying hairdo plops down in front of you. Row F is basically first-class: aisle in front, unlimited legroom, and the smug satisfaction of watching tall people in other rows suffer. If you arrive late, though, abandon all dignity. With so few aisles, you’ll be crab-walking past strangers’ knees, whispering “sorry” more times than at a family reunion. And when the show ends? Picture a traffic jam, but with more jazz hands. For kids, there are booster cushions so they can actually see the performance instead of memorizing the back of Auntie’s head. Sound system? Crisp. Air conditioning? Actually works (a minor miracle in Jakarta). Final verdict: It’s one of Jakarta’s nicer venues—which sounds like faint praise, but trust me, that’s practically a five-star review.
Shaun H — Google review
The seats at the venue are fairly comfortable, but if you are over 180 cm tall with long legs, you might find them a bit cramped. The incline of the seating is gentle, so it’s easy to see the stage even with people sitting in front of you. Seats in row F have an aisle in front, allowing you to stretch your legs comfortably. Since there are few aisles in the middle, it can be difficult to find your seat if you arrive late for a non-assigned seating performance. There is also a bit of congestion when everyone exits at once after the show. Booster cushions are available to help young children get a better view. The sound system and air conditioning are quite good. Overall, it’s a nice venue by Jakarta standards.

Cozy, clean, very clean & proper toilets, proper prayer room inside + wudhu chamber. Easy access both from Lotte Mall & parking lot. Though the route to the parking lot above still always got me & my friend a (fun) surprise everytime we go there, it still felt like a roller coaster track, but never mind 😆
Arini W — Google review
Always like to attend orchestra or musical here. The sound quality and seating are one of the best. Even if you sit at the back, you can still listen and see clearly.
Alexandra T — Google review
Very cozy place for held art performance like musical drama, art exhibitions and many more. Place are situated at center of Jakarta. Prepare for wearing jacket or sweater it's very cold inside Easy parking in Lotte Mall they provide many slot for your car. Just find way to 11tth floor, maybe little tricky but don't worry cause many signage to find it's escalator.

Atmosphere: Sleek, artistic, and luxurious with breathtaking city views, perfect for cultural indulgence. Service: Professional, friendly, and well-organized staff enhance visitor experience. Price: Affordable entry for museum and gallery; some events may be higher-priced but still perceived as worth it. Access: Prime location in Kuningan, easily reachable via multiple transport modes. Parking: Convenient parking with drop-off and direct elevator/escalator access; fees vary by duration and vehicle

It's a nice place to elevate your passion for art & performance. Good place to hang out with friends, too. They have indoor & outdoor facilities and even a rooftop area that you can rent. A Traditional Jamu bar is also available for you to enjoy a fusion jamu and good food. For coffee lovers, they serve coffee right next to it as well. Highly recommend this place to feed your inner art soul.

A nice and friendly place to meet up with friends or colleagues. Some exhibitions and events for festivals / disscussions / book launches are often held in here. The place is known as the office of legendary journalist: Mr. Goenawan Mohammad.

Went there in the night of Ramadan 2022, and it was quiet, even there was an exhibition there. Wide parking space, very artistic architecture, kind of tropical-industrial style. Very instagrammable😁 I made a reservation via their website for this exhibition, and their contact person was so helpful. So i think their reservation system is perfect. There are some shops, but when i went there, it was only one shop opened. But overall, i love their concept. Bonus, a super cute, chonky guard cat😁🐱🐈

Bentara Budaya Jakarta, located in South Palmerah, West Jakarta, is a cultural institute that houses a diverse collection of Indonesian cultural heritage. The institute boasts an array of artifacts such as paintings, ceramics, and wayang puppets from renowned puppet master Asep Sunarya. Notably, it features a traditional Javanese house transported directly from Kudus, Central Java.
I was here for a book event, but i am strolling around because there is an art exhibition. For me the place is really good for you that really want to see peace and artistic expression. I hope there will be more cool exhibitions to come!

I went to Bentara Budaya Jakarta during their PEREMPUAN Exhibition in June 2024. 🌺 I recommend checking their Instagram first for current exhibition schedules and registration details. Their gallery isn't as large as a museum but their painting collection is quite wonderful! The exhibition I visited was free to entry, you only need to register beforehand. Occasionally they hold workshops and music events too! 💖 Bentara Budaya has 2 galleries located besides each other: one inside the Rumah Joglo (traditional house)🛖 and one on the 8th floor of the Kompas office building🏢 (you might need ask for a visitor tag from the receptionist to enter). The two might have different events and exhibitions, or one might be closed to prepare their next events. In front of the traditional house, there is an outdoor canteen that sells Nasi Padang, Mie Godok, Nasi Goreng, Coffee (Coffeedential Cafe), and Fruit juice (affordable fresh juice! I love it and recommend it the most!!)❤️🍓🍊. The canteen is mostly frequented by Kompas employees. There is also a little reading corner (Pojok Baca) where you can read on the spot and return the books to the shelf after you finish! 📚❤️

Bentara Budaya is one of the Indonesian Culture Centre in Jakarta that regularly holds art exhibitions and performances by many artists. It has a strategic location where you can visit Bentara Budaya by Commuter Line Train and stop at Palmerah railway station, then walk about 5 minutes. Facilities are well maintained. This place offers alternative entertainment in Jakarta.

Great place to visit the Museum,Gallery and Monument or Mugalemon monthly meeting/ Paramita Jaya and Indonesia Museum Association Community on yesterday march,26,2019 at Bentara Budaya, one of the jakarta landmark, part of Kompas Gramedia Group, the largest Media Group in Indonesia, the Indonesian Culture Centre with many art exhibition and performing from many artist, the Javanese Joglo, surrounding by beautiful park and coffe spot you can enjoyed in the morning, lunch or after office hour. Very easy to access, near the house of representative building and palmerah central market then the railway station itself.one of my lovely experience for sure,to visit this place again, thank you.
Yusuf S — Google review
Great architecture by Romo Mangun, the space offers temporary exhibitions from time to time. The place also has small bookstore with Kompas published books and canteen to hang outside.
Angeline B — Google review
As there are not that many cultural centers in Jakarta that offer alternative entertainment, Bentara Budaya is really a much needed oasis. Centrally located albeit in congested area, this place continues to showcase rare performances and exhibitions from, some that I went to see, Islandar Wijaya's violin solo performance to today's Selisik Batik Pesisir exhibition and market. Keep up the good work! A tip: if you take a cab or have a drive take you, and you come from Jl. Gatot Subroto to Jl. Tentara Pelajar, and the traffic is crazy, better get off right after the traffic light then walk across the railway, turn left, you'd save a lot of time.

Performing arts theater
Teater Jakarta Taman Ismail Marzuki, also known as Teater Besar, is a renowned venue for large-scale cultural arts events. It recently hosted the return of Arendi's production of The Addams Family musical, showcasing their collaboration with leading Indonesian musical theatre creatives. While the venue has undergone impressive renovations, some visitors have suggested improvements such as increasing seating capacity and enhancing signage for better navigation.
I went to this theatre a year ago to see "Si Manis Jembatan Merah". In my opinion, the facility was great and comfortable, the theatre itself was huge and divided to three floors where I chose to seat on the third floor. Furthermore, the audio there was very good as well I could hear the music overflowed through the room without any technical issue. Overall, it was an amazing experience 10/10 would recommend and I will go back in the future to see more performances
Fey E — Google review
The renovation did wonders when compared to the last time I visited it. It would be better if the seating area was actually filled with more seats so people could wait in comfort instead of sitting on the floor, and the location signs could be more prominent to new visitors. One thing I was certainly disappointed with was the lack of effective walking areas. I have seen many people cutting shortcuts since the designated walking areas are leading to dead ends and making people walk 2 times farther.
Kopi D — Google review
We went to catch the tribute to Queen show. Easy online ticket purchase. The theater is huge with 3 level: ground, level 1, 2 and three. Good sound system, a bit too loud if I may saya so. Good statge lighting. Nice experience. Will probably catch the next show. Ample parking inside but you may have difficulty getting inside the parking area because too many unofficial parking outside.
Evita H — Google review
here to watch Teater Musikal Cek Toko Sebelah. No major renovations happened here I guess..? It was just the outdoor area that has gone through big constructions that it became more spacious and clean. The theatre hall was good, but it is much recommended to watch the show from the first floor because the seating area on the second and third floor doesn't accommodate a great view of the stage unless you are on the front row. One thing that should be improved is the cleanliness of the toilet in the theatre building, especially when an event is organized there.
Natalia T — Google review
The iconic Taman Ismail Marzuki is still a very good place to visit. My family n I went to see the magical art n dace performance of "Rupa Pura by Namarina Youth Dance," yes it is related to the famous Namarina Ballet Academy. As much as we enjoy the art n dance show of "Rupa Pura" in the theater, would like to advise the AC to be upgraded a little 🙏 In overall, Taman Ismail Marzuki is one of the must visits for art aficionados 😍 #spreadKindness💕

Monuments & Statues
Nestled in the heart of Merdeka Square, the National Monument, or Monas, stands as a striking obelisk dedicated to Indonesia's hard-fought independence from Dutch colonial rule. Towering at 132 meters, this iconic structure was envisioned by Sukarno, Indonesia's first president, who drew inspiration from Paris’s Eiffel Tower. Construction kicked off in 1961 and culminated with its public opening in 1975.
The iconic landmark of Jakarta. I visited it during the weekends and it can get pretty crowded. To access the observation deck, foreigners will have to pay 55k, which includes a Jakarta city card that will be used when accessing the elevator. The card can later be used in various facilities in Jakarta too. They limit the number of visitors that can access the observation deck each hour, so you will have to queue for it when it's busy. Apparently you cannot pre-book the slots of the next few hours, I tried it and they won't allow me, they will automatic queue you in to the latest available slot. I had to wait for 1.5 hours until my session begins on a Saturday afternoon. Expect to queue at the elevator (both going up & down) for some time as it can only carry 7-10 people per time, and it's very slow. The observation deck is very small and crowded, but the views are pretty nice, a 10 minute stay will suffice. There's also an interesting diorama at the ground floor of the monument that showcases the history of Indonesia. Definitely a good read if you're interested.

National Monument (Monas) is a powerful symbol of Indonesia’s fight for independence. Standing tall at 132 meters, it features a golden flame at its peak and Italian marble cladding, designed to evoke national pride. Inside, the museum brings history to life with 50+ dioramas highlighting key moments like the colonial era, the declaration of independence, and early struggles. Climbing to the observation deck rewards visitors with sweeping 360° views of Jakarta’s skyline, while the spacious Merdeka Square surrounding Monas invites a peaceful stroll. A visit to Monas offers both a tangible link to Indonesia’s past and a fresh perspective on the modern city.

To start my driver told me this was free to enter. I thought you only pay to go to the top, but no you pay for entry regardless of if you go to the top. I also thought I would be dropped off at the monument, but the way it is set up you have quite a walk from drop off to entry. Even getting to the monument I had to walk to the other side to find the entrance across the street and take stairs leading to a tunnel that finally got me to the monument. The diorama inside are fine very well. I loved looking at all the detail and there are a lot of them. However, when you finish that then there's nothing else to do but go to the top and overlook the city. Then you take a long walk in the heat to leave the monument. I am happy I saw it, but it was not a great experience. I wouldn't go back. If I had a person with me who hasn't been is rather tell them to go alone and meet back with me later.

A must-visit for anyone in Jakarta! Monas is an incredible monument commemorating Indonesia's struggle for independence. The museum at the base is very informative, filled with engaging dioramas that walk you through the country's history. Climbing to the top offers a fantastic panoramic view of the entire city. Truly a powerful symbol of national pride and resilience.

Place is well maintained, with on spacious park surrounding the monument. I liked that they have a lot of trash bins and those in the parks are elevated. They have a nice museum with dioramas of historical highlights of the country. They also have underground passages as a respite from the heat if you arrive midday. Signs are all on the local language and very few locals speak English. Accessibility for PWD and elderly is quite difficult

Vast public space for public gatherings, parade and such similar events. Good place to chill, jog, run and walk for exercise. So big that one, not the locals, can easily lose his or her sense of direction.

Third time to Monas. Hopefully the Museum itself would have renovation to be more modern, soa many people will come and enjoy beside going up to the Monas.
Karina W — Google review
Monas (National Monument) in Jakarta is an iconic landmark that offers a blend of history and stunning views. The ascent to the tower is free, allowing visitors to experience the panoramic sights of the city. However, be mindful that a ticket is required for the return trip if you opt to ride back to the entrance through the museum located under the monument. Take note, it's free, no entrance fee. The surrounding park is vast and beautifully landscaped, but be prepared for a lengthy walk—your feet might feel the strain! Additionally, there are tiangge (market stalls) outside the park, where you can find a variety of local goods and souvenirs. Overall, Monas is a must-visit for anyone exploring Jakarta, offering both cultural significance and a lively atmosphere.

Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, or Beautiful Indonesia Miniature Park, is a captivating cultural oasis nestled in East Jakarta. This expansive park spans 1.5 square kilometers and serves as a vibrant showcase of Indonesia's rich heritage. Visitors can explore various pavilions that represent the diverse provinces of the country, featuring traditional houses known as rumah adat, along with stunning displays of local costumes, dances, and customs.
A Must-Visit Cultural Destination in Jakarta! Taman Mini Indonesia Indah is a fantastic place to explore the diverse cultures of Indonesia in one location. Each pavilion beautifully represents a different province with authentic architecture, traditional costumes, and cultural displays. The park is spacious, clean, and well-maintained, making it ideal for a day out with family or friends. There are also museums, gardens, and even a cable car that offers a great view of the whole area. I especially enjoyed the traditional houses and the cultural performances. It's both fun and educational — a perfect blend! Tip: Be sure to check in advance which museums or attractions you want to visit, as some of them may be closed on certain days or under renovation. Highly recommend visiting, especially if you're interested in learning more about Indonesia's rich heritage. Try to come early and wear comfortable shoes — there's a lot to see and walk around!

A nice, peaceful place to relax and explore Indonesian history. Very dated, best to hire a mode of transport to get around (fun!) or ride the cable car and buses. Cash is accepted, but limited change. Best on card. Grab there was easy from city centre. Buy tickets in advance makes it easier. I bought at car toll gate with Grab driver translating!

beautiful scenery and amazing nature. i loved the cable car, we were able to see the whole park and many traditional monuments of indonesia. the bird park had many varieties of bird species all were very well taken care of and clean. the most fun and astounding part of the experience was the water fountain show they had at night, very creative and futuristic way of story telling Indonesian folktales. and the water was really pretty and coordinated elegantly.

Lovely place, but really NOT MINI. While the entry ticket is affordable, when inside it is definitely suggested to rent electric scooter or similar to get around, which can be pricey. The perimeter of the park is about 5km. Anyways we had a lovely time!

Worry-free if you don't have bicycle or forgot to bring one, there are bunch of bicycles, tandem bikes, antelopes, golf carts, and scooters to rent, start from Rp30.000. You can watch The Dancing Fountain every 10 AM and 7 PM, with special projectorised visual and drone show. A free-to-watch experience.

The Church of Our Lady of the Assumption is a stunning example of Neo-Gothic architecture, established in 1901. With its three impressive spires and beautifully crafted altars, this Roman Catholic church stands out amidst Jakarta's vibrant landscape. Located near significant landmarks like the Istiqlal Mosque and Jakarta Cathedral, it offers visitors a unique glimpse into Indonesia's diverse cultural tapestry.
The Jakarta Cathedral is an impressive Catholic church that truly stands out. Its historical significance is palpable as you step inside its vast and beautifully maintained space. The sheer size contributes to a sense of serenity, and the thoughtful layout clearly prioritizes creating an environment conducive to prayer and reflection. For those seeking a dedicated space for devotion, the inclusion of the Grotto of Our Lady is a significant addition, offering a peaceful sanctuary within the larger complex. Furthermore, the availability of other facilities ensures that visitors have everything they need for a meaningful and comfortable prayer experience. It's more than just a church; it's a landmark that invites contemplation.

Jakarta Cathedral ⛪✨, a neo-Gothic gem since 1901, stuns with its twin spires, stained glass, and serene vibe inside. Smaller than Europe’s giants but rich in detail — arches, rose windows, and a grand pipe organ make it a soulful standout. What makes it iconic is its neighbor across the street — Istiqlal Mosque 🕌 — connected by the “Tunnel of Friendship” 🤝. A symbol of harmony, it’s the perfect spot for reflection, culture, and Insta-worthy shots 📸 while feeling Jakarta’s spirit of unity.

I'm not a Catholic and came just to sight-see as well as pay respects. The Cathedral is by far one of the most beautiful buildings in Jakarta for me. The Gothic European architecture immediately stands out even from afar, surrounded by contemporary buildings made in younger era. The area is vast, and there's plenty of parking area for cars and bikes. People swarm the cathedral the most on Sundays, and I've heard that it's only open for intended occasions on weekdays. The high ceilings, wooden furniture, carved framings and colorful stained-glass windows make up the beautiful interior. There are plenty of carved statues posted around and inside the building, and they're equally stunning to look at as well. There are several other tourists who came to the area just to look around like me, and we are all in awe of how well thought-out the entire building is. A marvel of an art piece!

Museum Bank Indonesia is a fascinating destination that delves into the rich history of banking in Indonesia. Opened in July 2009, this museum offers visitors an engaging experience with its interactive zones and a theater showcasing short documentaries. It chronicles the evolution of Indonesia's national bank, highlighting its pivotal role from pre-colonial times to the establishment of Bank Indonesia in 1953. The exhibits include antique currency and international banknotes, providing insight into monetary circulation throughout the archipelago's history.
One of the most magnificent museums in the world. The exhibits of the history of money in Indonesia are breathtaking, from the times of the Kingdom of Majapahit through the colonial times to the present time. A must-visit if you are (or live) in Jakarta. The entrance fee is 5000 rupiah, about 25 Euro cents.

Surprisingly good, well maintained, and comfortable for Indonesian museum standard. Air conditioned for most of the room, packed with comprehensive historical information about Indonesian banking and currency since the earliest possible date. Some of the interactive equipment may not functioning, but nevertheless wont much lessen the massive information it gives the audience. Spend around 2 hours inside, insightful, especially if you fond of Banking and Economic history. They also show their massive collection of old money bills and coins from all over the world, i guess almost every country there is.
Cakra W — Google review
For educational values, this museum already ticked the expectation. As well the museum is clean, sleek, and interactive. But the downside of this museum is .... tl;dr. Too many explaination and information that makes visitors had reading fatigue. Add insult to injury, the visuals and craftmanship are beautiful and makes people just want to take picture w/o reading. Maybe a bit balance between text and visuals can make people understand more about Banking.

Very well-organized museum, modern, and so informative! We need to pay for 5000 rupiah. And can go around even more than 60minutes without realizing that time flew so fast! Worth to see how the bank history in indonesia, also economical history happened.
Huhu C — Google review
A Hidden Gem for Those Who Love Money, Trade, and History. Visiting the Bank Indonesia Museum was absolutely worth it! As someone who loves and cares about finance, this museum gave me a new perspective on Indonesia's economic and trade history. It takes you through the journey of how commodities like spices shaped the nation's fate, from the bustling spice trade that sparked global interest, to colonialism, and eventually to the foundation of the modern banking system. I learned so much about Indonesia’s monetary history, the development of the perbankan (banking) system, and how trade shaped our national identity. What stood out to me were the realistic wax figures that brought scenes of historical trading and banking to life. The rooms still preserve the elegance of the original Dutch architecture, making you feel like you’ve truly stepped back in time. This museum is housed in one of the oldest buildings built by the VOC (Dutch East India Company). When they first arrived in Batavia, one of their first moves was to establish a bank, making trade and transactions easier and more controlled. Tickets are only Rp5,000 per person, which is a great deal considering the experience you get. I bought my ticket on the spot, and the service was fast and efficient. Surprisingly, the museum wasn’t crowded, which made the visit even more enjoyable. The best photo spot? Definitely the balcony area near the director’s room, overlooking the inner courtyard. Unfortunately, some areas were under construction during my visit, and part of the exhibition was closed. Before leaving, I noticed there’s an immersive room at the end of the tour, I didn’t get to try it this time because it seems to only open at 9:00 AM, but I’m looking forward to returning just for that. Highly recommended for anyone interested in history, economics, and architecture. Quiet, elegant, and deeply educational.

We were offered a free guided tour and the guide was very kind and informative! His name was Aji, he guided me and my 2 nephews exclusively for 1 hour and invented a few games that kept the tour engaging for them. In the end of the tour, he gave my nephews comic books of the museum and declined my tip. He made our trip very meaningful and enjoyable. The museum itself is beautiful and well-kept, and its collection extensive. The flow of the collections gave us a good overview of the history of money in Indonesia, even from the pre-colonial times. They arranged it very well and information was easy to grasp. Some of the exhibition was interactive and there was a temporary exhibition dedicated to the important women figures of Indonesia, too.

Bank Indonesia Museum, located in Central Jakarta around Monas. It is very famous as a historical tourist icon and increases the knowledge of both students and the general public. The entry ticket is only IDR 5000 for active students it's FREE, aka you don't have to pay, guys The staff are friendly, very helpful, both from security, ticketing and luggage storage guards. I think this museum is very good, modern, the air conditioning is cold and the collection is quite complete, the ambience is thick with history and social science books hahaha Even though I visited on a weekday, it was quite busy with visitors. There is a prayer place, a place for visitors to eat, the toilets are also clean. Security is everywhere, so it's easy to ask if you're confused. Very Fun🤩

Jakarta Aquarium, located at Neo SOHO in West Jakarta, is not your typical aquatic park. It prioritizes conservation and offers a unique opportunity for visitors to learn about ecological preservation. With over 3,500 species of animals, including sea dragons and Humboldt penguins, both children and adults can engage in educational experiences. The aquarium also provides interactive opportunities to touch and feed some of the animals under the guidance of trained keepers.
Great place to visit! It’s fun, interactive, and informative. I think its perfect for families, kids, or even just hanging out with friends. What’s also nice is that it’s located inside a mall, so it’s super convenient. You can explore the aquarium and then grab food or shop afterward. The exhibits are well-maintained, and you get to see a variety of marine life up close. Loved the whole vibe, educational but still entertaining!

Visiting the aquarium inside the mall was such a refreshing escape from the city rush. The moment I stepped in, everything felt calm and magical soft lighting, the sound of water, and colorful fish gliding gracefully through giant glass tanks. From tiny clownfish to majestic stingrays, every display felt alive and beautifully arranged. It’s amazing how a mall can hold something so peaceful and fascinating. Definitely one of those places that makes you forget the noise outside for a while and just breathe in the beauty of nature right in the heart of the city. 🌊

We’ve visited Jakarta Aquarium Safari several times (about once or twice a year) and it has become our go-to spot in the city to entertain our kids. The attraction is fully indoor inside Neo Soho Mall, which makes it a reliable choice no matter the weather, and it’s stroller-friendly with elevators connecting the two levels. Our children love it because beyond the aquarium displays, there are so many activities throughout the day — animal feedings, penguin shows, mermaid shows, sea lion feedings, and even a penguin parade that’s especially cute and worth waiting for if the timing allows. The activities are spread across different areas every hour, so it helps to wait at least 15 minutes before the scheduled show to get a good spot, as it does get crowded. We usually buy tickets in advance through Tiket.com since it’s often cheaper with promotions and faster at entry thanks to the special line for online bookings; buying onsite usually means long queues. Weekdays are the best time to visit because the crowd is manageable and you can enjoy more shows, while weekends are often too crowded to fully appreciate the experience. The visit typically lasts one to two hours, and there’s even a restaurant on site — Pingoo — where you can dine next to the penguin habitat. The food itself is very average and on the pricey side (around IDR 100–150k per person), but dining there gives you the option to feed the penguins and have your photo taken. Do note that photos, whether from feeding activities or restaurant sessions, come with extra charges, which can make the day more expensive than expected. Inside the aquarium there are also snack stalls selling popcorn, cotton candy, and ice cream, but outside food is not allowed. Facilities include bathrooms that are functional though not spotless, and staff stationed around the touch-animal zones to maintain safety. Overall, Jakarta Aquarium Safari offers good value for the ticket price itself, with plenty of animal shows and feeding opportunities to keep kids engaged. The hidden costs come mainly from photos and add-on activities, but if you manage expectations, it’s a fun and memorable outing. Our kids especially loved the penguin feeding and the photo spot tunnel in the lower level, which changes monthly with creative decorations. It’s best for families with children aged three and up, though toddlers can still enjoy parts of it. We’ll definitely return, but we always aim for weekday mornings to get the best experience with fewer crowds.

so far it's the best place to see sea creatures compared to the other 2 places in Jakarta and Bintaro. The place is clean, the shows are on time, the animals look well-kept and well-fed. Also, the mermaid show is surprisingly spectacular.

The aquarium houses a diverse collection of over 7,300 marine species, including sharks, stingrays, starfishes, and various fish and reptile species. Visitors can enjoy feeding shows and have direct interactions with marine animals at the Touch Pool.
This place is legend in itself but always keep up with some new stuff. The drawing activity can then scan your drawings and project it into the screen along with other’s drawings. Nice. The traditional like fish feeding is still there and alive. It’s a nice short vacation in Jakarta.

Back to this mega aquarium after more than 10 years. The big fish are still stunning, especially when you see them from the tunnel. The fish feeding time is still the best attraction. Try not to miss them. Unfortunately, the aquarium is now looking tired and need major overhaul. The water tank is not as blue/clear as before. Maybe many years of operation did affect the water tank quality. Some of the exhibits also need major refresh. It still brings good entertainment and I saw a lot of kids scream in excitement- including my niece. So from that aspect, it’s still a recreation place worth visiting. Further more, if you take bundle with the Samudra ticket (dolphin and sea lion show). It’s highly recommended!

SeaWorld Jakarta is a great spot for kids and families. It’s still entertaining and fun, though I noticed there seem to be fewer fish compared to a few years ago. Still a worthwhile visit!
Rosliana M — Google review
SeaWorld Ancol is actually pretty cool! The aquarium is big, with lots of different fish and sea animals to see. They even have a fish feeding show which is fun to watch. But getting there is kinda annoying. From the main Ancol gate, you have to walk about 1.5 km to get to the entrance gate (where you buy tickets), and there’s no shuttle at all for that part. It’s a long, hot walk if you’re with kids or older people. There is a shuttle bus from the entrance gate to SeaWorld (about 700 meters), but it can take a while to come — so be ready to wait. Overall, the aquarium is worth a visit, but I really hope they fix the access and transport system inside Ancol. It could make the whole experience so much better.

you can use the 1W transjakarta (blok m - ancol) and go upstairs to scan your Ancol entrance ticket. Then just wait for thw Wara Wiri bus to get there. There is also some people who can get you here with a bike for 10k IDR. As for the aquariums, there are plenty, but not many big sharks. The jellyfish is stunning though. And it's best to get your ticket online to avoid lining up to buy a ticket. The restroom was clean, maybe bcause it was on a working day. Overall, good and fun experience. ps. I saw a review of someone saying the lightings are dim, like I think they purposely did it that way to make sure the deep sea creatures are living there nicely. so, no issues with the lightings whatsoever.

Nestled in the heart of Jakarta, the Wayang Museum is a treasure trove for those fascinated by Javanese puppetry. This captivating museum showcases an impressive collection of puppets, dolls, sculptures, and paintings that reflect Indonesia's rich cultural heritage. Visitors can immerse themselves in the artistry and craftsmanship behind these enchanting figures while learning about their historical significance.
As someone who loves museum trips, I absolutely adored this place! The ticket price is incredibly affordable, and once you step inside, you’re treated to a fascinating collection of dolls. From traditional puppet dolls and shadow puppets to the eerie-looking gale-gale dolls, there’s something for every curiosity. You’ll also find unique traditional dolls from around the world, like the iconic Punch and Judy from the UK. Just a side note—it's closed every Monday but open on Sundays. Interestingly, most museums in Jakarta close on Mondays, so it’s totally fair they’re open on Sundays for those weekend visits!

Happened to go on a very busy weekend in Kota Tua. A bit crowded but the museum was still easy to navigate. Very well organized and displayed history of Indonesian puppetry. I was most interested in the traditional shadow puppets but learned there is a wide range of other styles of puppets. We very much enjoyed our time there. Highly recommend a visit and even more so if you combine it with a visit to the Makuthurama Pupoet Studio around the block to get a deeper appreciation and a more up-close and living history experience.

Loving the experience I've had here. First floor is the exhibition hall for Wayang from across Indonesia. The display is very beautiful and the explanation on each collection is very engaging. On the second floor there are more to see such as immersive room (seperate ticket), a small library, exhibition hall for national puppets from across the world, and gamelan display. You can also "play" the gamelan and experience being a puppeteer (Dalang) through the interactive screen here. There's also a small yet clean praying room here. Overall a very worth-to-visit place!

Very good. 10k rupiah for domestic. There is interactive show based on the schedule. Free, included in the ticket. All nice and arranged very well. So worth to visit.

New look interior of Wayang Museum brings new experience too. Take your teenagers or kids to gain more histories about puppets from all over the world.
Margaret A — Google review
We had a great experience overall. The museum had been thru a lot of changes; there are varied puppet collections with written description available, and the immersive show is free tho registration is needed at the ticketing booth. If anything, the time for the immersive show was so short, so it felt rushed. And some of the staff was really unfriendly lol Ticket was only 10.000 and the museum opens at 9.00-15.00(closed on Monday), their instagram is more updated on schedules.

Closed, just like the other museum we tried to go to today. It's 12:03 on a Wednesday, and I've just taken a train here purely to see this museum. This is beginning to justify the commonly held opinion that there's no reason to visit Jakarta. :-(

As someone who loves learning about culture, my visit to the Wayang Museum in Jakarta was both fun and educational. Located in the Old Town (Kota Tua), the museum is easy to find and housed in a charming colonial-style building. Inside, I was amazed by the huge collection of wayang puppets. There were wayang kulit (shadow puppets), wayang golek (wooden puppets), and masks, each beautifully crafted. What surprised me most was the variety—not just from Indonesia but also from other countries like Malaysia and India. It really showed how puppetry connects cultures. The museum taught me a lot about the stories and traditions behind wayang performances, which are such an important part of Javanese and Balinese culture. Even though I don’t speak much Bahasa Indonesia, I could still enjoy the displays, but I wish there were more English descriptions for international visitors. The museum wasn’t crowded when I went, which made it easy to take my time and admire the details of the puppets. The entry fee was affordable, and I felt it was well worth it. The building could use a little updating, and the lighting was a bit dim in some areas. But overall, I enjoyed the visit and would recommend it to anyone interested in art or culture.

Park
Nestled in the heart of Jakarta's Menteng District, Suropati Park is a charming urban oasis that dates back to 1920. Originally designed as a village green surrounded by elegant mansions, this park has transformed into a beloved retreat for both locals and visitors seeking respite from the city's hustle and bustle.
Love the ambience 🫶🏻The park is beautifully maintained, with lush greenery, towering trees, and well-manicured flower beds. The walking paths are clean, and there are plenty of benches to sit and unwind. Birds chirping and the occasional sight of squirrels add to the peaceful ambiance, making it feel like a small oasis in the middle of the city.

One of the Greatest parks i have ever visit. I love the ambience of the park, the pigeons which you can feed with corn kernels. The park is also always fully mantained, the plants are always watered and trimmed, so you can actually have the full experience of peace and relaxation

Got my best experience exploring Jakarta’s green open space in Taman Suropati. This is a great place for free night’s picnic, to enjoy coffee and snacks. Not too crowded and the ambience is conducive to have deep talks. Recommended for friends group or couple who want to have different hangout experience with low cost.

A quiet little park with a nice green scenery in the middle of the city. Lots of trash can so no need to worry about cleanliness. Best time to enjoy a relaxation in the park would be 6-7 AM and 4-5 PM.

+ The park is pretty big with tons of space to sit down and have your little picnic. + On the weekends, there is a music group playing and practicing around the park, and it adds more serenity to the whole ambiance. + Tons of food sellers around the park. + Easily accessible using public transportation (Bus). + There is a small mosque within the park. + They have a little book hive where you could donate or lend a book.

Museums
Nestled in the heart of Jakarta's Old Town, the Jakarta History Museum is a captivating destination for history enthusiasts. Housed in an elegant 18th-century building that once served as Batavia's city hall, this museum showcases a rich tapestry of artifacts that narrate the city's evolution from its prehistoric roots to its colonial past and eventual independence in 1945.
Amazing to tour around and understand a deeper history of Indonesia and its culture. Absolutely must see for all tourists even if you get charged the double the price because you're discriminated against for being a tourist. Took a lot of time. Went with a well informed guide that carefully and with great detail went through each room, showing things that you would absolutely miss without the guide. To see a dining table that was cut from one piece of wood was fascinating. The rich and how they waste their money. Times don't change that's for sure!

Visiting the Jakarta History Museum was a captivating journey through time. Situated in the heart of the old city, its location in a historic building added to its unique charm. The exhibits were fascinating, offering a glimpse into Jakarta's rich history. However, I couldn't help but feel that the artifacts deserved a more climate-controlled environment with air conditioning, especially given the tropical climate. Nonetheless, it was a memorable experience that I would recommend to anyone interested in delving into Jakarta's past. Additionally, they have a nice souvenir shop, perfect for taking home a piece of Jakarta's history.

Perfect museum and place to find about Indonesia in the Batavia period. Classical architecture covered in white. There's some museums around the area of Kota Tua (Old Town of Jakarta) so make sure to come around 9 AM to stroll around the area (not too hot and crowded). You can also rent bike to enjoy the ambience of old historical buildings 🥰

Located in the Kelapa Gading area of Jakarta, Mall of Indonesia is a vibrant shopping destination offering a wide range of stores, dining options, grocery outlets, and a dedicated play area for kids. Situated along the banks of Kali Sunter, this mall provides entertainment for both locals and tourists with its cinema theaters and various events. The unique feature of having residential villas built on top adds to its appeal.
Suprisingly this mall is very nice in my opinion. You can find so many store here that sells branded and high quality stuff. And the food, you can find either Halal or Non-halal food here but there are no symbol to differs them, make sure to ask the waitres before entering the restaurant. other than restaurant, you can find many fashion store, sport store, gadged store, undies store, etc. There is also bowling venue, samsung service center and gym. There is also a prayer room in 1F and P3 floor.

This mall... It's definitely BIG. It's extremely accessible to everyone who lives in the area, almost next to Mall Artha Gading, another large mall, and close to schools and many other outside shops. It has many residential areas in the mall, since of its large apartments. It is dog-friendly, but I am cynophobic and biased (extreme fear of dogs), but I think it is a good addition for pet-owners. It has a cinema, countless restaurants and shops and more. It's a good mall. One of the big malls in the Sunter area, which is really big. The tenants are many and varied, so it's good for just hanging out, shopping for necessities, or walking around. The atmosphere is quite comfortable, there are also quite a complete selection of food, so it won't be easy to get bored if you come here often.

Museum Layang-layang Indonesia, located in a serene alley in Pondok Labu, Jakarta, is a charming museum dedicated to the rich history of kite flying in Indonesia. The museum offers guided tours, engaging exhibits, and interactive activities for visitors to learn about the tradition of kite flying that dates back over 2,000 years in this region.
Small but great museum that showcases different kites from Indonesia! The sizes and the diversity in kite design are amazing! There are also some kites from other countries on display. A very nice gentleman showed me around and helped me to make my own kite. A lot of the descriptions are unfortunately not in English but it's still interesting to look around. There's a gift shop where you can buy kites of varying sizes. The space itself is quiet and spacious. I enjoyed my visit to this museum quite a lot.

During 25 years in Jakarta I didn't know about this museum, but read an article about boys flying kites near CGK airport and the danger this poses to aircraft, in which this museum was mentioned. So off I went the next day. Not only is there a collection of kites from across the archipelago and other Asian countries, but also the setting is a quiet oasis in the urban jungle, historic wooden houses set under mature beringin (fig) trees. Bring your kids, you can make and decorate a kite together! It doesn't take long to walk through the collection, but linger a while to appreciate the place.

Wisata Kota Tua Jakarta, also known as Old Town of Jakarta, is a historic district that showcases the city's Dutch colonial heritage. This area was once a bustling settlement during the Dutch colonial era and is now home to well-preserved buildings dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries. Visitors can explore museums such as the Bank of Indonesia Museum, Indonesia Puppet Museum, and Fine Arts and Ceramics Museum housed in these Dutch-style buildings.
A place that saves history or I could say, this place is also a history. Makes you travel back in time you didn't exist. Another face of Jakarta that is not surrounded by skyscrapers, less vehicles, and there's a lot of museums there. Don't forget to bring your hat and apply sunscreen if you are visiting on a sunny day. Free entry for the area, but you must pay for each museum you will visit.

Very large court they had a music event when I was there. We went on a guided tour to visit the old Arab village and few mosques. I was so dissapointed to see that the places and roads really lack proper maintenance and upkeep, not to mention the piled up garbage every where. The steps, streets sidewalks are hard to walk on. What a shame to see these historical places not maintained by the province or city municipality. Plus its very hard to find parking with outside construction.

Visited Transera Waterpark in Bekasi with my family and had a great time overall. The place has plenty of shady trees, which makes it feel cool and not too hot—even on a sunny day. There are several different pools to enjoy, and I especially loved the wave pool—the waves lasted quite long and were really fun! However, I was a bit disappointed with the limited food options inside. Most of the food stalls only sold cup noodles and light snacks, so finding a proper meal was a bit difficult. Also, the park was relatively quiet, probably because we visited on a weekday. I hope they can add more food tenants with full meal options in the future, so guests can enjoy a more complete experience without needing to leave the area when they get hungry.

Had a great fun with the kids. However this park looks old, and the lazy river had no flow so we didn't know which way the river flow. But, this park is quite affordable, ticket included 4 free admissions for the bumper cars. During our visit, many stalls closed, maybe because it's not too crowded. Quick tips: 1. Come on weekdays if you can as it will not be too crowded with people and literally you'll feel the park is yours. 2. If you use online transportation to get you home, use UBER as other platforms tend to cancel your order. 3 families next to us had already wait 30 mins for the pick up while we only took 8 mins for our driver to pick us up.

This waterpark has been running for 20+ years. It has great potential but it isnt looked after. So much algae that couldve been scrubbed using chemicals. Still fun after many years since I've last came here. Alto they removed some of the slides, but that dragon slide is still awesome. Finally Ancol find a way to make money in here guys. Cheap entrance tickets are compensated by capitalism. They charge for every bench you can see (paying 200k for a poolside bench is no joke). No outside food and drinks. We have to sneak our foods inside our bag, under the clothes haha. But turns out the foods sold inside is still affordable

Probably the oldest art trade in Jakarta. It was here since my childhood and it's still there decades later. 1 pcs of old town painting cost 12mio per piece.

Last time went there bevause have an event for zombie fun run .. but i think this place not really that crowded for the people to see the art and painting things although they also have some restaurants in there.

One of the most calm and relaxing areas in Taman Impian Jaya Ancol North Jakarta. Many artists made their works in their own arts stands/gallery(ies). Not so many people visited this place that day made this area like an abandoned village but still offering calamity and peaceful vibes. A nice place to visit for walks or buy some art's product
Singgih M — Google review
This is one of the most underrated art places in Jakarta. Located at Ancol, it's almost cut off from the hustle bustle of the city. However, it is a huge property with hundreds of artists living and breathing their lives into art out here. This place is a must visit for people interested in appreciating as well as buying art in Jakarta. I found paintings, pencil works, sculptures, woodworks, experimental art, installations, pottery, and more. They also hold several workshops here occasionally. Please visit, appreciate, share and buy. The ideal time required to see Pasar Seni properly for someone like me would be 8 hours. I can visit all the stalls, look through them for art works I really like, speak to the artists and understand more about what they thought about it, rest in between, etc. Yes, this can be a full day plan for any serious art enthusiast.

Looking for nice souvenirs? Or would you like to see some nice art craftsmanship? Then you must visit this place. It's very convinience. Many interesting items to see and to buy. The food stall around it is nice to visit also. The taste is good and the price is modest.

Very disappointed with this experience and surprised by all of the positive reviews with no contact. There were some nice art pieces but many shops were closed and those that weren’t no one was around. The real perplexing situation is that you have to pay 25,000 rupiah to get in and you have to go on a journey to actually pay it and get the ticket. And it’s impossible to get a cab in here. Net net, I wouldn’t recommend this for tourists but perhaps good for locals.

Pos Bloc Jakarta is a fascinating blend of history and modernity, having originally served as the headquarters for postal services during Dutch colonial times. Constructed in 1912 and opened in 1927, this stunning art deco building has preserved its original charm with beautiful stained glass windows and elegant marble interiors. Since its transformation into a vibrant culinary and recreational hub in September 2021, Pos Bloc has become a popular destination for food lovers and shoppers alike.
Pos Bloc on Jalan Pos is a vibrant creative space that breathes new life into the historic post office complex. My visit was brief but memorable — I stopped by Patjar Merah, a cozy and curated bookstore, then sat outside enjoying a cup of coffee from a Starling (Starbucks keliling), surrounded by a mix of curious visitors and laid-back regulars. The open-air seating and relaxed atmosphere made it easy to unwind and take in the ambiance. Much like its southern sibling, M Bloc Space, Pos Bloc serves as a hub for youth expression, indie communities, and those seeking an alternative hangout in the heart of the city. It’s a magnet for “anak senja” and anyone looking to enjoy art, books, or music in a welcoming, semi-urban setting. What makes it especially meaningful is how it repurposes the old post office buildings — turning a fading legacy into a lively, modern destination. Another plus: parking is surprisingly spacious for a central Jakarta location, making the visit hassle-free. Overall, Pos Bloc successfully blends heritage and youth culture, offering both a sense of nostalgia and a spark of new creative energy. It’s definitely worth a visit, whether you’re here for an event, a casual stroll, or just a quiet cup of coffee.

Pos Bloc is a spacious venue that hosts a variety of events. The place is very accessible. It’s friendly for pedestrians, public transportation, motorcycles, and cars alike. The tenants are diverse and unique, ranging from hearty meals, desserts, coffee shops, and clothing stores to photo spots and even self-pampering services, all at budget-friendly prices. It’s definitely a recommended spot, whether as a meeting point or simply to hang out with your loved ones! 🤗🫶🏻

The building is often used for seminars or meetings. visiting on weekdays / weekends is also fun. When the evening the lights decorate the building so it becomes more beautiful. Suka untuk perpustakaan kecil ini dan mengajak anak-anak kesini. Cocok menghabiskan waktu akhir pekan disini.

Gambir Expo - Arena PRJ Kemayoran is a vibrant hub for various events, including exhibitions like INAGRITECH & INAMARINE, showcasing agricultural and marine products. This expansive venue has hosted numerous outdoor festivals such as the Synchronize Festival and The 90s Festival, featuring multiple stages across its grounds. While it offers ample space and easy access via public transport, visitors often face challenges with limited restroom facilities and dining options.
It's public space for any public occasion. I visit here for Jak-Japan Matsuri 2023. It's so huge! The Trans Jakarta Bus Shelter also get activated during the events! The visitors are advised to use public transport for the convenience. Here some pictures of the events.

Alive Museum Ancol, situated at Ancol Dreamland, is a fascinating attraction featuring wax sculptures of famous personalities from Hollywood to Korean pop stars. In addition to the lifelike sculptures, the museum also showcases signed movie posters and various 3D exhibits that allow visitors to take interactive photos. It's a fun place for families and offers discounted tickets for adults over 50 years old.
Affordable price with a lot things to do, u can take as many photos u want. But, the place not strategic, in d corner of Ancol, and not many people know, so the staff only 2 people, 1 cashier 1 for check in, need more staff to clean the object n the floor often.
Little A — Google review
Pretty fun place with family! We bought the tickets in The convenient store downstair they have discount, but we found out the the entrance of museum the price is actually cheaper for adults who already above 50 years old. The museum is a bit small, but interesting, spent around an hour here, much fun as photos I share :)

The ticket fee vs the 3D painting and the wax sculpture is not equal. My suggestion is add more 3D painting and wax sculpture. And better maintain the existing.

Good place for taking pics with 3D paintings, but quite expensive if you don't like arts. Better buy ticket from online shop, its cheaper. Located in the 3rd floor of Ancol Beach Mall. You can use wara wiri bus to get there from any shelter in Ancol, its free. Arrive earlier for having much time to get the best picture of you...sometimes you can't have the best pics if in a crowd 😄. After that, you can enjoy other attraction in Ancol area, such as Dufan, gondola, sea world, etc.. You can use the wara wiri bus for your transport.
Trampòliñ — Google review
Got into an errand with the receptionist because the ticket I've bought off Traveloka doesn't appear in their database, first they told me to call Traveloka, after several tries and I can't manage to make it, she made an initiative to issue a ticket for me and my family. Went inside and it was a good experience, but they should cover the ceiling though, it's just annoying having to crop the "industrial-looking" ceiling in my photos lol. They have some unfinished venues and they better lower the entrance fees before those are finished, 100K IDR for unfinished venues during peak season is just ridiculous. Oh yeah, btw buying tickets from 3rd party sources can give you cheaper prices but make sure you buy the right tickets, official holiday counts as "weekend".

Pasar Santa, located in South Jakarta, is a vibrant and diverse market offering a unique shopping experience. The market is filled with an array of vendors selling trendy fashion items, handmade crafts, vintage collectibles, and regional delicacies. Visitors can immerse themselves in the lively atmosphere, interact with friendly vendors, and haggle for the best deals. Additionally, the second floor hosts various shops run by young entrepreneurs offering food as well as other items like barbershops and accessories.
A great spot for coffee enthusiasts to shop for quality coffee products. In the basement level, there’s a store offering a wide selection of local coffee beans sourced from various regions across Indonesia.
Faizal T — Google review
A hype place for online food vendors. I try to dine in this time around and look around all the stalls in the foodcourt. Based on my experience the stalls varied greatly in variety. Some is a hit and some is a miss. Mostly a miss for me. I tried boss lady fried chicken + rice + egg, it was quite underseasoned. I also ordered boss lady chicken fried meatballs, it was all flour with no hint of anything else. The hojicha latte from matchanata is very nice to taste. But the price is quite steep considering they offer no place to sit. The handwashing area is run down and quote dirty. There are also little cockroaches in sight on the common dining table. Plus the foodcourt is on the roof, so it was super hot in the lunch time with no fan (each vendor bring their own little fans even). I like the theme of the market and traditional stalls but I don’t like the price tags and the hygiene of the place. Sorry I won’t be coming there again.
Sean T — Google review
It is always nice when you go here. There's plenty of coffee beans variety that you can learn and buy. But if you go here by car, it a little bit tricky to get your car parking spot. But after all, its a clean market

This place is amazing if you are looking to buy quality coffee beans for a good price. It’s downstairs in the basement, there is a lot of different beans to choose from and you can taste espresso and americano for free from the beans you choose. Definitely a hidden gem for bringing a tasty souvenir back to home.
Derk V — Google review
There is a coffee bean specialty store on the basement floor. I came here because I wanted luwak coffee. The beans are sold in 1 kilogram bags, but you can also have them divided into smaller bags or have them powdered for immediate use. The staff were also very knowledgeable about coffee and were able to tell us about many other types besides Luwak. However, the building in which this shop is located has vacant spaces and other stores that are not in operation, so it seems like the area other than the coffee shop is not very lively.

back here after the renovation, last time 8 years ago. great theater, comfortable venue, great facilities. here are some photos taken from the seats on the first floor, N13. actually the place is comfortable, but the seats are too short, so I'm a bit blocked by the person in front of me. very tiring as I have to tilt my head a bit while watching.

So we ordered French fries(22K), and Bakwan Jagung(18K) i almost though that it's impossible to eat with good portion usually they will serve small portion. But what comes suprised me the portion is big and the fries isn't slim it is thicker than usual, the bakwan jagung also taste heavenly good. I almost forgot that we're in the middle of discussion of Kosmos by Carl Sagan 😁 but the place is nice the room also have an AC so it's not hot. We're completely okay with the surroundings

Teater Salihara, also known as Salihara Art Center, is a beloved artistic hub in South Jakarta where art enthusiasts gather for various cultural events. The center offers a minimalist structure surrounded by lush greenery and provides opportunities to engage with contemporary art through exhibitions and performances. It houses a unique performing arts venue along with facilities like a coffee shop, herbal medicine store, music studio, and dance studio available for rent.
One of places I visited frequently in South Jakarta, for their art and learning events. The place is known as Komunitas Salihara, but then in English it's known as Salihara Art Center. It's a melting pot where various people with interests in arts, literature, theatres, dramas, movies, philosophy, critical thoughts gather, from time to time. Komunitas Salihara often organizes events, shows, plays, discussions, writing classes, dance classes and art sessions where everyone can join, with affordable costs. In this August 2023, similar to the previous year, Komunitas Salihara hold LIFEs (Literature and Ideas Festival), and the theme for this year focuses on French influence in Indonesia. A cafe is open at the lobby of the building, where you can get traditional foods and traditional herbal drinks (jamu). I really recommend everyone with interest in arts and literature visit this place, and feel unique atmosphere

This place is lovable, you can update your contemporary art knowledge through events and exhibition that taken place in here. Minimalist structure goes along well with green lush surroundings. I really appreciate the people behind this place for their consistency and hard work to preserve art and cultural activities.

Nice place for watching and practicing arts here. You can watch shows like music, theater play, etc. The auditorium is good, cozy, and clean. I came there for playing theater show in teater kecil. There is mushala and mini restaurant inside this complex. The parking area is large too. Many people come here for just fun, playing, watching, or even doing arts performance.

(Translated by Google) The new building is great for holidays with the family. there is a library, art gallery, fish pond besides the planetarium. suitable for taking photos too In the library there is also a children's play area. To enter the library you must register online and leave all your belongings in the luggage storage. The library is suitable for studying or just looking at books, there is a reading area on chairs, chairs or in private cubicles, a lactation room, you can also use a discussion room (like a meeting room, free but you have to book first) and there is a podcast room. For food vendors, there isn't much variety, it's better to wait until the afternoon because there are lots of street vendors selling. there is a large parking building, clean toilets.
