Service and atmosphere are great but the food was lacking. The balsamic salad was sicky sweet. The .8 pound ribeye was about half of that and was thin, tough and super salty. I typically eat seafood here but was tearing for a steak. I don’t know about the seafood here but stay clear of the beef.

Amazing service + live music and good vibes makes this on the beach restaurant a must visit if you’re in town. The Caesar salad is prepared table side and is absolutely delicious. Every dish I tried was flavor, fresh and will leave you wanting more. Everyone who serviced our table was exceptionally friendly, patient and knowledgeable. So glad I stopped in and will likely have to come bs k before I leave town.

Bistro Del Mar is the finest restaurant in Zihuatenejo. We had breakfast here almost every morning and three times for dinner. The service is just amazing and the food is absolutely delicious, every time. Big shout out to Fortunato, Salvatore and Juan Carlos, to name a few. It also has the very best view, right on the beach, with lovely ocean breezes. You will not be disappointed!

Discovered this place walking along the beachfront promenade and so glad we did. The food was first class, the service was excellent and the view was delightful. An appetizer of freshly cut Palma ham and melon, our main courses were a seared ahi tuna and vegetables and mahi mahi with portobello mushrooms and vegetables. We both had crème brûlée for desert. We thought that the price was right for the quality of the food and service. I’d highly recommend this restaurant.

During our eight week stay, we’ve been six times and that is evidence of how we feel. Francisco, Manuel, Aturo and the entire team offer excellent service. The table side Ceasar salad results in possibly the BEST I've had anywhere! The Fresh Mahi-Mahi, lobster and Egg plant are all delicious. The setting right on Mederia beach is just the icing on the cake. As we leave Zihua, we say Muchissimo gracias👏As the Phantom Gourmet, I’d have to award FOUR SILVER 🥄🥄🥄🥄’s Perfecto ~ bueno provecho!

I want to preface my review with the fact that we were staying at the Aura del Mar and we received breakfast every morning included with our room rate, so my review is just of the free breakfast, not the full restaurant menu or experience. The included breakfast menu was quite limited - about 4 different ways to get eggs, but it was enough variety that we only ate out for breakfast 2 times during our 5 day stay. You got choice of breads, juices, fruit, and the main course. The quality was great, service was good and the view couldn't be beat! Just wish there had been more choices.

Very civilized seafood restaurant on the shore with a nice view of the bay. Main dinner dish of significant quality and taste. Excellent service. Banana cheesecake dessert slightly disappointing.

Mauricio was so welcoming, we were walking by when he was setting up one day, everything is so cute, neat area of Zihua for food. Several good places within a couple blocks. Great food and nice to see local owners/chefs interacting with their patrons! Also local live music!

This quaint family owed and operated establishment was fantastic. The grill was going and all things coming off tonight were fantastic. Kabobs, shrimp, tuna all delicious. Great ambiance and servers were very kind and helpful, a visit from the chef/owner was a nice touch. To top off the evening the order key lime pie!

Quiet romantic atmosphere 😍 with beautiful ambience. Live music in the background. Mahi Mahi cooked to perfection. Not overly cooked and dry. It was tender and juicy with freshness you can taste. Octopus was definitely fresh. It was not chewy at all and the flavor was perfect. The cook and owner was very nice and squeezed us in even though they were pretty busy. The cook also went wo every table to make sure we are enjoying the food. This is a well run family restaurant!

We went here on the advice of a friend and we loved it! Good value, great food and service, cozy atmosphere for outdoor dinning. We had the shrimp tacos and the skewers.

You must order tuna fish steak! We order tuna steak. I can’t believe what I saw! So big and thick tuna steak was served! I’ve never seen such a thick tuna steak, even if I was in Japan. Great flavour. No iron fishy smell, not at all! Definitely, fresh. His cooking skills is very good. Price is amazing ( if you order this in Japan or some city restaurant, you have to pay over $60 or more) I totally forgot to take this plate picture. Because I was completely fascinated by this tuna steak (*≧∀≦*)

Very great experience, great food cooked right outside the restaurant on a grill. Wanted pasta and found it, woundful grilled shrimp fettuccine. All the workers were great. Good location near the canal in a quint area.

The nicest restaurant owners in Zihua! Had mesquite grilled chicken cooked on the barbecue where you can watch if you want. And there was rib-eye and seafood on the menu, too. The food and service were 5 stars!

I got the beurre blanc fish roll and it was very nice. It's a fun atmosphere as well, right next to a mangrove with iguanas and birds. It's off the beach but no ocean view. I took off a star because they allowed other diners to feed the iguanas, then the restaurant staff fed them tortillas! Not appropriate food for those animals. Don't fall off the deck, the giant croc might eat you!

Excellent food and drinks. My wife had the deep fried fish tacos and I had the fajitas. And a great experience with the iguanas and crocodiles! We went here almost every night on our vacation. Highly recommend!

Wow! The restaurant was fantastic! Superb service and everyone enjoyed their dinners. Thank you for a great meal! Five adults well feed for less than $1500 mx. We had drinks but no alcohol. Highly recommended!

Awesome place and got pretty busy almost a full house towards sunset when we were there an hour earlier there was like 2 tables. But the setting feels like eating in the jungle or swamp. I'm glad many iguanas showed up for me and a few different bird species as well. There were turtles swimming by and a medium size crocodile swam by as well although when I pass by mid day there was a huge crocodile hanging out by the entrance of the restaurant. Love the vibe here and a few good choices on the menu. The service was good but today there credit card machine didn't work but luckily I have cash. On the other side of the back of the restaurant is also an RV park I'm not sure if you can rent the lot with the place but there were many travelers and it's nice if you have an RV walk straight into the restaurant to eat and off to the beach you go.

This is a must try in Zihuatanejo. Beach front on Playa Ropa with a great vibe. The food was outstanding and the service we received from Carlos was exceptional. We came by a few days earlier and he gave us a tour of the restaurant grounds because they have an amazing family of iguanas! He recognized us immediately when we arrived without reservation and found us a table. We enjoyed the catch of the day which was mahi mahi. We tried it 2 different ways (veracruza and grilled with ajillo sauce) Both dishes were excellent. We enjoyed a margarita and chips with pico de gallo while we waited and a bottle of cold white wine with dinner. Overall it was a terrific experience! Highly recommend

Best Chilaquiles ever!! You know you found a great place to eat when you come on a Sunday during the down season and you’re the only Gringos in the place. Definitely a winner!

I had the combination plate which was very good. The service was excellent as was the overall atmosphere. I came in just after noon so it wasn't that busy. I think that I'll be back.

Visited again with family. Breakfast was on point. Loved my chilaquiles con salsa verde. Others in my party spoke highly of the molletes, fruit plate with granola and the hot cakes were a hit with los niños. (Photo doesn't belong but can't remove) 😜 Original from Diciembre 2023: Nice spot, pleasant occasion to be surrounded by more locals and national tourists than gringos...and a good sign for the authenticity of the food. Chilaquiles were excellent and the molletes con chorizo was good.

Food was excellent. Tortillas were fresh made, but they put them between paper that sticks to them like glue.

Armando was super accommodating with our dog and arranging a table near the door where she could sit with us. Very good execution on breakfast classics and an excellent environment

Foods are delicious and relatively cheap that's you you can see the line in front of the entrance. On Sundays, if you don't want to lose time, make reservation in advance.

This is my third winter in Zihua. I've eaten at La Gula several times while I have been here. The service as always top notch, and the owners are wonderful people. There are many good restaurants in town, but the food is definitely exceptional at La Gula.

I’ve been coming to Zihuatanejo since 2011 and have eaten at dozens of restaurants from super high end to street corners, and this was by far the best meal I’ve ever had. The octopus starter was superb. The whole fish (red snapper) was perfectly cooked and accompanied with subtle yet delicious vegetables. My wife had the Mahi Mahi with shrimp in a corn sauce…unbelievable. Service was amazing and the desert just to die for. Reservation for our last night already made. Skip the foo foo and make a reservation here. You won’t be disappointed.

We had a really wonderful and special experience here. The couple who own and run the place, one the chef and the other in the dining area, were absolutely lovely and gracious. The service was excellent. Pacing was gentle but fast and respectful. Food was excellent and inventive and presentation was outstanding. Bread was provided free, prices were very good, and the location is charming and has an elevated small town atmosphere. Reminds us of hillside Italian towns on the northern Mediterranean coast. This is probabely the best place in Zihua for an outstanding dinner experience. The couple who run the place does everything to make it an unforgetable experience. The prices of the dishes aren't overpriced and the prices of the beverages are also very reasonable. The head waiter does an excelent job and the service was perfect👌 We had a cocktail, a starter, main dish and desert and a bottle of whine. I will definitely go back there very soon.

I went there for dinner and had the chef special which was excellent. The service was spot-on and the atmosphere was very nice with a cool evening breeze. Good selection of well-prepared food. You should give it a try.

We have ate at a few places in zihuatanejo and this is was the best. I don't write reviews but I felt very compelled to do so. This place offers luxurious food and service but at very good price. You could tell the owner wanted to showcase love for her guests. The Margareta was the best I've had in mexico and I have been here 3 times. The service felt like a very fine dinning experience. The food was clean and very well thought of. This chef went to school forsure. No view of the bay but with this kind of food you don't need it. I Strongly recommend this place to anybody.

The best restaurant in zihua! Everything we so delicious and the service was next level! Wish we ate here every night during our stay. The mahi mahi with shrimp and the seared tuna steak were perfectly seasoned and cooked. The spinach salad with grilled pear was a delight. And the compound butter served with banana bread was out of this world. I appreciated they poured an Italian Pinot Grigio by the glass.

This is a reliably great go-to in Zuhua. The food is always good, as is the service. The prices are very reasonable. The portions are generous. The chilaquiles are awesome. And the restrooms are spotless.

I think this place is fantastic. It's a very nice place to eat with various options for food. Everyone who joined me enjoyed their meal also. The portions are a reasonable size too and their drinks are flavorful. My friends introduced to this place and I hope to try something new each time. They offer a section for menu of the day too so it's great to try something different. The bathrooms are clean, which is a good indicator for the cleanliness in the entire restaurant. I will definitely return soon with family.

If you want to eat like a local & come away full, this is the place for you! Take your spanish dictionary or ask the server what’s good. I had the albóndiga soup and didn’t regret it. Every table gets salsas n chips, veggies in vinegar and beans plus your meal and drink. Take pesos -they don’t accept plastic. Buen provecho!

Good, affordable and delicious food with good sized portions. Clean but plain. Love the jugo verde juice and the pechuga chicken dish.

Came by for lunch. I don't know if they have a menu just for lunch or just the menu in the photo. Either way I ordered the Plato Especial De La Casa. The food was great, the service was spot on and the atmosphere was relaxing and inviting. So if you're hungry give them a try.

Been coming here with my family for years. Very very good food. Sometimes a little hot, but what can you do. Sometimes the waiters can be spread a little thin but that’s ok.

A really beautiful outdoor space. Cool, shaded, but still with that excellent view all the way across the bay to Centro. We were there for a late breakfast and the room was quiet. Service was excellent, servers were quiet and elegant and they had no problem understanding our mangled spanish. The enchiladas verdes were very good and more than enough for the two of us when paired with their excellent biscuit. Good, strong coffee completed a perfect breakfast. We were invited to see the space upstairs, which is fantastic. For weddings and such. Really nice.

What a delightful little restaurant tucked away along a dirt road at the end of Playa La Ropa. The ambience was superb- peaceful with the sound of the ocean and some quiet background music. The food was so delicious! Fresh catch of the day was Spanish Mackerel and we also had fresh tuna fish with a mushroom sauce. Dessert was a plantain wrapped in a tortilla and deep fried, served with delicious ice cream and my wife had the goat cheese ice cream- equally delicious. The staff were very friendly and polite and the place is rustic but with so much charm. This was our first time here and we will definitely come back when we visit Zihuatanejo again. Well worth a visit!

We have had ao many fantastic meals & experiences at this history-rich, less-known place tucked away 1/4 mile or so west beyond La Gaviota. The owner (Chantal) shared the story of this formerly massive edifice owned by her family for generations. It is a beautiful setting, as romantic as they come, great food/cocktails/service!! We simply cannot say enough positive things about El Viejo.

This gem is worth the pleasant walk along the beach. El Viejo is a family owned and operated restaurant in the ruins of the family hotel that has a very storied history. The food is delicious and well plated. Highly recommended for breakfast, lunch or dinner!!! Update: Just returned from breakfast, the Tacos Dorados were amazing. It is worth the extra 5 min walk if you are staying on Playa La Ropa.

Have been here many times over the years, and the service and the atmosphere have remained excellent. It's expensive by Zihua standards, but it's worth the splurge in my opinion. The courtyard dining is so pretty too.

Updated 2023: My opinion remains the same. Can only recommend the happy hour menu due to the dinner prices. This place is not special enough to spend this kind of money. Try $50 US for a steak. Maybe if you are trying to impress someone? I attached menu photos for 2023. 2019: Not sure what the attraction of this place is. Food is expensive, Service pretentious, dishes are okay. Get twice the meal at half the price at Gorobos and get the same full linens service.

Top restaurant in Zihuatanejo I highly recommend it. I loved the Coconut shrimp and my cocktail. The crepe Suzette was to die for - done by a sous-chef "flambé" by the table. Quite a spectacular show!

If I could give Coconuts six stars... I would! Everything about our experience was positive. The service was great and the food was even better. It is pricey, but we knew that prior to sitting down. If you want a classy night out, DO NOT MISS COCONUTS!

Posting less favorable review after response from Coconuts to our poor service was answered with a statement that the night was busy. We were one of the first tables to arrive and were left unserved while other tables were served. In fact, other tables noticed that we were not receiving service and our dessert arrived long after many tables were served before us, and had arrived for dinner after us. I suggested that two women travelling alone might have been the issue. How else to explain that only our table had such a poor experience. Yes, the food and ambience was good but as solo women travellers I would be wary. The attached will demonstrate that the restaurant was not busy when we arrived.

The restaurant has a fresh and well prepared food. Campechana Zihua was our favorite. Our waiter Francisco took good care of us and tried his best to understand us and our English.

The food here is wonderful. We started with the tiritas gaviota. This is a large ceviche starter for two people but we would get it again. I tried to save room for dessert but was not successful. Their chips are homemade. Very good. I had the Lomito (snapper dish) and it was exceptional (guac here is wonderful) and my husband had the chille relleno - there wasn’t any left on his plate. The view and ambiance (ocean waves crashing) are worth the stop but this place truly has excellent food and service. Nice breeze here so you don’t get too hot. Overall, a wonderful dining experience.

This has been the best food of our trip so far. The view is amazing and the ocean breeze is incredible. They even brought us a snack on the house.

The finest and most delicious restaurant of our 4 day trip to Zihuatanejo. The atmosphere is amazing. Highly recommend you go for dinner an hour before sunset to enjoy the see breeze by the ocean and golden hour. The tuna sashimi was exquisite. Professionally prepared unlike most of the surrounding restaurants. The Camarones Roca were also extremely delicious. The tacos were ok., at $155 a piece, we found them too pricey for what you get. Definitely worth a visit. Enjoy!

Outstanding Experience at La Gaviota We had a truly memorable evening at La Gaviota. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional—warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. A special thank you to Roberto, who took such good care of us throughout the evening. The food was outstanding. We enjoyed perfectly cooked shrimp paired with a medley of exceptional vegetables—fresh, flavourful, and beautifully presented. The menu offered a great selection. The setting is just as impressive as the food. With a stunning oceanfront view and a picture-perfect sunset, it’s the kind of place that makes a meal feel like a special occasion. Our compliments to the kitchen staff for a flawless meal, and again, heartfelt thanks to Roberto for making the experience so enjoyable. Highly recommend.

This is easiest the best restaurant in Zihua. There are plenty of vegan options and everything we had vegan and not vegan was delicious. This restaurant has steps down to the beach and the waves come right up to the steps. The staff there are amazing and friendly, huge shout out to Alberto for making us feel at home. I can’t recommend this place enough and I can’t wait to come back!

We celebrated our first anniversary during our trip to Zihuatanejo. Our taxi driver suggested this place when another we looked at was closed. It was incredible! The wait staff were above and beyond friendly and the view and food are amazing. I ordered the grilled octopus appetizer special as a main course and the waiter offered it readily, allowing me to choose from a variety of side options and sauce. A great personalized experience! My fiance had the fillet mignon and we also each had a salad and dessert and shared a bottle of wine. Impeccable food and romantic atmosphere! As everywhere we have been in Zihua... Be kind to everyone around you and you will receive kindness in return. ❤️🌺🌴

I may have caught them on an off night because I’ve been told how on point this place generally is. The food was okay but nothing extraordinary. The wait staff was very friendly but they were so busy that service was extremely slow. The views and vibes of this place we spot on. Great views and a cozy experience. Id give them another try just because everyone can have an off night.

Hands down best Italian Restaurant in all of Zihuatanejo! Ambiance, Service, and of course amazing food 🍝 Excellent attention to detail from the staff and customer service unseen in other Italian restaurants in town. My waiter Miguel was superior. Chicken Alfredo Pasta was perfect, and bread was a nice touch. Had to finish it off with some chocolate Icecream. 11/10 recommend!

A solid choice for food with a 5 star view of the Zihuatanejo Bay and town. We went Tapas style and shared the yellowfin tuna carpaccio appetizer plus a Caesar salad, adding the Scampi Ai Oleo as our entree. Everything was tasty and fresh and the server was great. Prices were very reasonable as well. We spent under $75 total which included 3 glasses of wine.

Il Mare has some the best Italian food I eaten both in and outside of Italy. The views are spectacular and the pacific breezes will keep you cool even during the hottest time of day.

Went here on our first night in Zihua for dinner. Restaurant is great, service and food is amazing ofcourse. I love mussels and this one didn't disappoint. Best black mussels i've had in a long time. Everything we had is delicious. But the winner of all is the beautiful view of Zihua bay at night from this restaurant giving you all that romantice vibe.

My review is solely off being vegan, there weren’t many options and the ones they had were just okay. The staff here are amazing and nothing is better than being on the beach. The Beach chairs wet odor table and the stads was very attentive!

I've lived in Mexico for 3 years and this was the worst restaurant experience I've had here. They clearly did not want to serve a single woman. I waited almost 30 minutes until the musician who was entertaining the diners talked into his mic to get someone to my table. The Caesar salad was only 3 leaves of lettuce and expensive. The waiter was condescending, saying that I couldn't possibly like spicy food (I lived in India) and offered me shrimp diablo that wasn't on the menu. It was inedible. Basically, overcooked shell-on shrimp with a bottle of hot sauce poured over it. When I paid the bill, they didn't want to give me a receipt, suggesting that I take a photo of the one they had because they were too lazy to go to the cashier for the paper. Needless to say, I only tipped the musician. Paying over 500 mxp for 3 pieces of lettuce, a little mashed potatoes, and some tortillas, was not as filling as the 80 pesos lunch I ate at the mercado earlier that day. Plus the decor is cheap looking.

Large restaurant on La Ropa beach. Tables under a huge palapa and on the beach. Fair prices for the location. Seafood cocktails on the smaller side. Service was very good. You can stay as long as you want at your table. Have been here four times and would return.

Four days ago the four of us had the pleasure of spending the day on La Ropa beach in Zihuatanejo​. We ate and conversed with the owner, Francisco Ibarra Rivera in what turned out to be a fantastic day. The time he spent talking about his restaurant.... His city.... His life and anything else we wanted to talk about was a highlight of the trip. I broke my own rule of never eating at the same restaurant twice on one trip (so I can try more experiences) and we returned to La Perla on Wednesday. After another fantastic time, Francisco offered to set up a sunset dinner with a table on the beach just for us, so tonight we returned for a third trip for what turned out to be not only the most gorgeous location, but one of the best culinary experiences we have ever experienced. Dinner consisted of Oysters, Shrimp Cocktail, nachos, more oysters, caprese salad, corn soup, coconut shrimp, chicken parmigiana​, seafood stuffed fish and shrimp and lobster stuffed chile relleno. Dessert was the most delicious flan I've had the pleasure of eating. Francisco... Mi amigo.... Mucho Gracias! We cannot wait to return to your beautiful country... Your amazing city... And more importantly visit with you again. You've made our trip special.

Right on a great beach. Good service. A popular beach resturant. The owner Francisco was very friendly and gracious. Only had drinks, didn't have time for a meal. Trouble finding time to return but wanted to. Look forward to our next visit. I recommend visiting it you ever get to La Ropa beach!

It was a pleasant experience. Would give it 3.5 🌟 Service was excellent and great location. Ordered grilled oysters but it was overcooked...almost dried oysters with too much fried garlic...you can't taste the oyters anymore. Grilled pork chop was nicely seasoned put it was cut so thinly and grilled waaaay too much ..it so rubbery because it was almost like a pork jerky. The grilled local lobster are excellent! The octopus a la plancha is tender...but I wish they charred it instead "boiling" it. We love the Carne asada tacos especially when you top it with the super fresh guacamole and Pico de Gallo. Would go back again to this place for a good experience and relaxation. Love the fresh coconuts too!

We’ve been coming here for years and it never disappoints!! The pozole is so amazing and I love all the options you can add to it. The service is always amazing too. Come earlier or you’ll have to wait for a bit.

Best authentic Mexican food in Zihua. I highly recommend the champurrado to drink and fresh fruit helado for dessert! Many vegetarian options for breakfast or dinner, my favorite is the chile rellenos or cheese enchilada mole. Many locals recommended the pozole (not vegetarian) which is available daily.

It was the bright colors inside and out of this restaurant that first caught our attention while exploring Centro early in the day. We came back later for an early dinner and were so pleased with the experience. There were only 2-3 other tables being served, given the early hour, and we were seated and served quickly. The menu is pretty extensive, available in english and contained lots of photos of the dishes, good for us mexican food neophytes. We went with chilis rellenos, our new favorite dish, and a flank steak. Both delicious, but the chili relleno with ground beef was truly outstanding. Service was fast and friendly, prices were good. We will return on our next trip.

Locals spot. I was very pleased to sit on the chair where Any didn't have eye liner. All of the chairs are carved with a brightly painted lady, who I must assume is Any. On one of the chairs, she doesn't have eyeliner (or a nose). I recommend that chair.

Isidro and Irma were excellent hosts. The food was beyond fantastic, and the bar drinks made by Diego Were out of this world. The restaurant was recommended to us by friends and they were not wrong on how fabulous the presentation, decor and food is. If you come to Zihua and miss coming here. You have done yourself a disservice ! You will LOVE IT !!!

The first time we went here, the food and drinks were top notch! We fell in love with this Sangria, it was perfect! So we went back of course to have it again, sadly it seems to be ‘a one time kind of deal’ because we never got the same drink ever again 😔, we gave them 3 more chances besides the first time we got it, but it just got worse and worse, the fourth time, when we saw that the same waiter was gonna make it, we don’t even bother in ordering one. Sadly say but the food wasn’t as good as the first time we ate there. I don’t understand what happened.

The reason I gave I a low star is that they remolded and it took away the Mexican charm otherwise the food is good service slow at first.

These guys really know what their doing. With a wide option menu they manage to make everything taste good. They also have a frequent customer discount system that I think I'll be joining.

As a connoisseur of tacos and salsas, I can say, the tacos and salsas here were just amazing. I came here more than once: al pastor one time, and fish another time. I even sent compliments to the chef and he personally came out to chat and discuss the dishes. Great place with friendly service and awesome food!

Decided to stop in as they had cold Victoria which Any did not. Ordered a battered fish (79p) and a battered shrimp taco (89p) on flour tortillas as well as an order of chorizo tacos (120p) on corn tortillas (3). We were given an order of Pico de Gallo with chips and 2 sauces. Service was great. Fish tacos reminded me of Las Animas Beach in PV. Would definitely go back.

Great dinner with our family. The fish tacos slap! Got three and then three more! Also the el pastor was real good! Go for the fish tacos though!!! Service was excellent and very sweet to our little one. Prices are fair.

Large portions and very tasty fare. Beachfront dining availability is abundant. Although we were greeted by three different restaurant employees, none of them came to get our food order. After twenty minutes, I had to place my order after tracking down a mesero. All the other guests were being served promptly, however.

You can’t beat the view. It’s spectacular! The guacamole and salsas were great. The tomatillo one was so good we got a little more. We had a margarita. It was nice and refreshing after swimming. We ordered the mahi with garlic and it was so good. A nice filet with crunchy fried garlic on top. So good! We also had a hankering for pasta and had the bolognese. It was very boring and the pasta was not cooked fresh. It has marks on some like they reheated it in a pan. The flavor wasn’t bad. Thankfully they give you a nice cup of cheese to go on top and that helped a lot. Service was amazing and the view was breathtaking.

The food was very good—we especially enjoyed the pescadillas and breaded fish. The beautiful sea view made the meal even more pleasant.

Absolutely fantastic and friendly service! I had the steak which was not great but the chicken fajitas were really good and the drinks were great especially at happy hour which is buy 1 get 1 free (5-7)! So we had a great time!😀 They rent beach chairs and have beach side service, so we’ll be back for more fun! They also serve breakfast and lunch but unfortunately close at 7pm, so get there early to drink and eat!

One of favorite places to spend day at the beach in zihuatanejo. Excellent service, food, prices, ambience. Favorites: lemonade and vege nachos. Large fruit plate, excellent, very healthy :) They also have coconuts here, highly recommend them. Note to self: bring headphones, no music allowed. Also get a table upstairs, best view ever !!

Patricia,the owner needs to invest on her staff to learn customer service and English. Food was delicious but the service was awful. 🌟 🌟 🌟 are missing due to lack of English speakers in their staff! they overcharge you if you don't pay attention to the bill. Also, the average waiting time for the bill is about 90 minutes. They offer morning yoga, which is about $250 for one hr.

Great for the beach if you like a busy scene. No charge for the half loungers which is nice. While staff is very nice The service is insanely poor. Most of us had to get up and find our server. Could be because the cashier stand is behind the restaurant. Last, don’t order the coconut shrimp if you want anything but coconut shrimp it came with a dollop of rice and that’s it for 425 pesos. Again, the staff is super nice but not very organized.

I’ve been going here for over 35 years. Sometimes 3-4times in a week vacation. Hope you don’t want to actually eat. Ordered pescadillas which were a bit different but delicious. Also ordered with the host’s recommendation the crab and shrimp burger. Waited over an hour, never came. Got the check and left. No explanation from the staff regarding my order. HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. Loved the place. Was going to buy 4 tee shirts but not after that experience. Appears the the boss needs to show up and keep an eye on things as in the past. Was so looking forward to it but really poor service.

Absolutely delicious food, a pleasant setting, and friendly, attentive service. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and would definitely return next time we’re in Zihuatanejo.

Spectacular fish - tasty and well cooked. Excellent staff- they were accommodating and helpful. We especially enjoyed the cocktails (fresh ginger infused margarita!) and the art (came home with a wonderful little painting). We’ll be sure to return next time we visit! Gracias por todo!

One of the better places in this sad town.

Good food and drinks, but be careful to review your bill carefully! The woman behind the counter added a very expensive fish of the day fish onto the bill that we didn’t order. Waiter was nice and told her she made a mistake but still shady. Also the quesadilla was more like an empanada. The shrimp and crab burger was fantastic.

Not sure if all of the reviews are real. Shrimp cocktail had a very strange taste that made us question the freshness. Wasn’t expecting it to be like a US shrimp cocktail but was more like a bland ceviche like dish. Pic attached. Fish strips were also a little different than expected. Raw fish like ceviche. Better than the cocktail though. Shining stars were for the tacos. Got fish and shrimp pastor tacos that were both fantastic. Expensive for what it was but very tasty and unique. Got the flan for dessert which was not like any flan we’ve had - more like a cheesecake. I actually loved it but my flan loving girlfriend did not approve. Not your typical custard-y flan. Artwork is fantastic.

Extremely good fish and seafood. Not fried. Just really well cooked. Much of the fish comes right in from the Fisherman's catch that day. One night they just chopped up fresh off the boat raw tuna and served it with garlic and oil to us as we had beers. Two days later we came back for a full meal. Here are the highlights: - The smoked fish tacos and the homemade habenero hot sauce are both surprise faves. - The shrimp tacos, "al pastor" fish tacos and octopus ceviche were great. - Try the margarita with mezcal on the rocks (not on the menu) to wash it down.

Great service and atmosphere! Their green pozole is delicious and authentic. Exactly how green pozole should be made and taste. Will definitely come back. Their chicken soup lacked a bit of flavor and wasn't a big fan of the drinks either. Again though, that green pozole was on point.

Had been by many times and only had come in for a beer and guacamole before but tried their breakfast buffet with local friends yesterday and it was all very good. I usually don't do buffet but this was surprisingly better than expected. Good selection of fresh fruit juices, an omelette station and eggs to your taste. Many different Mexican options with chilaquiles and tortillas and it all. Very reasonably priced at 260 pesos or $20 Canadian at the moment. Sorry too busy eating to take pictures...

One of the best meals we had all week. Had the BBQ ribs and quail.

Whenever we travel, we always ask the locals for restaurant recommendations. Our taxi driver, born and raised in Zihua, recommended La Casa Vieja. We just love this restaurant. The food is so fresh, authentic, and made from scratch. The homemade tortillas come hot off the grill. We ordered extras to bring back to the hotel. They threw in melted garlic butter, yummy 😋. The highlight was an anniversary party for the owners 41st wedding. Live music with guitars, violins, and wonderful singers. Our waitress Tina could sure belt it out ! The owners bought us a round of drinks to help celebrate. We had SO much fun we had to come back. Not just for the delicious food but the atmosphere. I had the Shrimp Chili Relleno, and my husband had Shrimp Fajitias with rice and tortillas. We came back a second time, and I had the Avocado Shrimp Tower. Our best friends had the soup with a ton of fixings: delicious. There was music again. Please come visit, you won't be disappointed. Very family friendly. The family is so inviting. Thank you all !

We stopped in for drinks and will definitely be back for dinner next time we are in Zihua. My Mom had a Pina Colada which was amazing. I highly recommend you order one. They were so sweet and friendly to us. A beautiful place and they had an awesome band playing.

We had the most amazing dinner experience here. Our server, JR, was so pleasant, helpful and funny. The food was MUY BIEN! Absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was euphorically beautiful, with gorgeous plants highlighting every unforgotten corner. You can tell that everyone who works here cares as you can detect the passion, love and talent from kitchen to table.

Fantastic place to try fresh fish. Grilled octopus and filete de pescado with hoja de hierba santa is a must: tasty, tender, a little spicy

Very impressed with the Agave restaurant. We will be visiting here often. We suggest the coconut shrimp, steak fajitas and an amazing cappuccino for desert.

Wonderful dinner tonight with locals and friends. Excellent mole and shrimps with tequila. Loved the staff and the owner checked in with us several times. Definitely coming back!

Staff here are wonderful, the tricolour salad is a nice take on a Caprese, and they often have a pork chop special which I love. They do a tasty fish veracruzano. Their chile relleno with a twist( mashed potatoes and cheese) is a favourite of mine as well. It’s one of our go to regulars for a nice night out downtown. Everything is priced reasonably for what you get.

El Agave is a delightful quiet romantic second floor restaurant above the street in the shopping district of Zihuatanejo. The proprietor Leo welcomed us like old friends. The tortilla soup was delicious. The poblano pepper chicken pasta was our favorite of the night. We will definitely come back again.

Love this place! We ate here a few times. Jesus and Ilario made the experience so wonderful. The food and drinks were delicious— some of the best. The view and vibe are very nice too. Highly recommend it!!

What an incredible gem to come across. So close to the stairs from the resorts. Great view (pro tip...eat at bar upstairs), delicious drinks, mushrooms were so savory, bread was lightly toasted but soft. Shrimp had a delicious char on them, ahi tuna was plentiful and perfectly cooked. Vegetables seemed fresh and a nice change from most local dishes. Note: they only accept cash!!

We had sashimi, calamari, coconut shrimp, and tuna kabob - all were perfectly prepared and absolutely delicious! View was amazing, cocktails were strong and tasty, and the service was attentive and friendly! Will definitely return.

So showed up at 9:30 to closed doors. Most of the town was at a festival so a slow day and they where closing up. We knocked and they opened up for us. It was one of the most romantic dinners my wife and I have shared in fourteen years being together. The food is out of this world. Must try the coconut shrimp and coconut rice! The catch of the day was mahi-mahi. The best fish dish we have had since we’ve arrived at Zihuatanejo, and we have eaten a lot of seafood here. Do not miss out on this place. It is a gem. The chief came out to talk to us, the staff is wonderful, the bathrooms are clean and the view at night.... breathtaking!

This place is a hidden gem and one of our neat experiences traveling! If you're in Puerta Mia or close to Playa Principal or Madera just walk. Otherwise, if you're in La Ropa it's worth taking a cab. Jesus made us feel like true family. We spent most of our daily effectivo in the shops so I didn't know of we'd have enough for another round and Jesus told me "You can just pay another day. Eat and drink what you want. You are family." I was blown away. Jesus and Coco Bahía have us as regulars now! Amaaaazing blackened sashimi and margaritas by the way. But after being treated so well, I'd come back for cheese and crackers. 😂 Incredible view of the bay.

I've been vacationing in Ixtapa for a week and have had the pleasure of enjoying not only the fine delicacies this Trattoria serves in a private Courtyard, but the different types of entertainers and performers make it that much more of a truly special experience for patrons of all ages.

We walked in without a reservation on Carnival Parade night! Great atmosphere and service and food amazing. Nice change to authentic Mexican. Musicians in courtyard.

Finally getting around to write a review. Went there in Feb 2025. Food okay but not worth prices. Service VERY slow and waiters / manager were at times abrasive when we asked where our drinks were. Took forever to get our food.

Julian and crew are on top of their game. The food is exquisite and made with love. I have been coming to El Mediterráneo for 17 years, i highly recommend the Huevos Provencal for breakfast, and the rack of lamb with giant shrimp for dinner. On my next visit to Z, I will bring my mother here.

Il Mare’s food is far superior as is the service. We felt rushed and were not treated as well as what seemed to be repeat customers. The manager ran out of purse trees and thought it was okay to take my purse off and try to give it to another table. When paying cash the manager also kept 300 pesos without our consent. It’s sad to say , but I was the only brown person in the entire restaurant. This is the last place I’d think I’d feel this way. We will not return. 😞

The outdoor courtyard dining area has a wonderful ambiance with great cocktails, food and wine and an exceptionally good house band on Sunday nights. Our service was outstanding. Definitely worth a visit when in Zihua.

Ate here 3 times during our 8 day stay in Zihua. Go after 1400 and you’ll meet Salvador as your waiter. This guy has eyes in the back of his head. He’s chatting with us and drawing people in of the street at the same time. Amazing food!

Oh My gosh…Sooo delicious!! We were walking by and Salvador convinced us to come in. We were so glad we did…the service and food were by far the best we’ve had in Zihuatanejo. We had the guacamole, margaritas, Mariners Platter, coconut Flan!! We are so full and happy that we can’t wait to come back! Visiting from California 💕

Had two meals here while in Zihua. Had to try the red snapper as it is the most plentiful catch at the morning fish market. Was not disappointed. Our favorite meal was a filet of fish with pineapple, onion, peppers & cheese on top. Delicious! The servers are personable & offer great advice.

The food was great and service was very good. Just a bit crowded inside. We both had omelettes and the were reasonably priced.

The food is over priced in comparison with the quality they offer. Highly salty and basic. For foreigners I cannot recommend this place. Not tasty. Also, the seller pressure you to give tip, and it doesn’t matter if the service was good or not.

There are many pizza options in Zihuatanejo, and, I must admit, I have not tried them all, but when I find a good thing, I don't see the need to move on. They had me at the words "wood fired". They also had more size options than I had seen elsewhere. Being a single person I don't really want to order a big pie then rewarm the leftovers for the next week. They allowed me to customize the pie as I wished and the service was attentive as I waited, keeping my beer cold and with cheerful conversation. I've been back twice and will recommend it to anyone who wants a great pizza while in Zihua.

Very easy to find and amazing pizza! Little bit of a wait but quality is great. It will get kinda hot although people are friendly and make a great environment to enjoy. Highly recommend the Mexican pizza.

Best pizza in Zihua, woodfired oven, great ingredients, and it comes on a beautiful wooden board with homemade sauces. Service is not the best, but the pizza is worth it.

It was a very nice experience having dinner at Angustina. It was what they promised. The quality of the food is a notch above the usual. Much more gourmet. I had hoped for more Home cooked style, but that was my fault. Everything was great and the service wonderful. For me the food was a bit too fussy. Again, that was my expectation, not the restaurant. And I highly recommend it for people looking for a more fancy gourmet experience in Zihua.

A beautiful, elegant restaurant with delicious , creative food pairings! And equally creative cocktails. A 10 out of 10! Our server, Suzy, was so attentive and took wonderful care of the toddler in our party.

Super unique menu, everything incredible. The best dinner we had in Zihua by far!

We came here after seeing photos of an intriguing menu and excellent dishes, and now we are going to contribute the same in this review. The restaurant opened at 15:00 and we were there anticipating this as our choice for an early supper (or late lunch). We were seated in slightly uncomfortable chairs, but when asked, the manager moved a large fan closer to us so we could cool down from a hot walk around town. The table was clean and the waiter placed nice paper place mats down as we were served our first drinks. We started with water and coke but upgraded to cocktails later. All the drinks were tasty and the cocktails were among the nicest we've had in Zihua. For a shared appetizer we had the Nejitas - three warm folded tortillas with a filling of huitlacoche (corn smut) and with the best guacamole we've ever had and a couple of delicious salsas! After eating the Nejitas, the waiter offered fried yucca and sweet potato chips so we could finish the salsas off. For our mains, we order the Chamorro (pork loin, perfectly roasted with a nice crunchy skin) and the Tuna Chepinita! We had no room for dessert but really wanted to try the three types of churros. Our waiter was polite, attentive and gracious. She spoke no English, which we found refreshing and we enjoyed practicing our Spanish (por ahora = a few more minutes). The bathrooms are clean and stylish. We will make a return trip here.

We went here on recommendation of a friend. There was no one else there we we were worried about it since it was a Saturday evening. We decided to try an appetizer and tried the Pork belly tacos. THEY WERE AWSOME. So good. All tables have a view of the promenade, and you can people watch. We did not order anything else we decided to try another place, since we had only 1 more night and wanted to try as many places as possible. I recommend this place.

Loved it the first time, so we came back! Great cocktails, most are made with in house mezcal and local ingredients. Dinner 2 nights ago night was empanadas, the snapper w/ a delicious tomato sauce and the tuna..mmmmm. Last night was the Rib eye, and the pork belly special both with amazing purees and sauces.

The food was excellent, great service. No one seemed to speak much English but we were able to communicate just fine. The mezcal drinks were awesome, food even better. We got the catch of the day and the octopus. The sauces were incredibly flavorful. Must try when in Zihua!

We dined at Garrobos twice on our recent stay in Zihuatanejo. Both times the food was really, really good, as was the wine. I had coconut shrimp both times (I just can't help it), my husband had surf and turf and he said it was the best beef he's had in Mexico. Both times our waiters were really good, and kind. The younger waiter really impressed me with his professionalism, I wish I had gotten his name. Do yourself a favour and try Garrobos and their extensive menu.

We were given a recommendation by our cabbie to have breakfast here. Everything was good but just average. The exceptions were the smoothies which were excellent. I asked to mix a few of the flavors which they did and it didn’t disappoint. The server was ultra friendly and the atmosphere is a chill easy vibe. The food took a while to get out and we were one of three people dining with fairly basic orders. I likely wouldn’t eat here again but it’s a good place if you need to have something more basic to eat.

The best red snapper I've ever had and I grew up on the gulf coast of Florida.

Hands down best tampiquenia in zihua. Everything on menu is very good and prices are moderate. Must try colamilla style ceviche, huachinango, tampequenia, camarones diabla and mole. Full linens service. Great waiter. If you haven't been here yet you are missing one of the best mexican restaurants in zihua. My friend had a filet mignon with pepper sauce and raved about it.

We went for breakfast and it was delicious! Customer service was amazing. Eloy was very attentive. We will return but for dinner.

Ordered the Ceviche, seafood soup and Red snapper w/ garlic butter. They were all fantastico and best meal, quality and taste wise we have had here in Zihua

We were looking for a place to watch the leafs and it was suggested to try the captain's daughters bar. We weren't disappointed. The place was filled with Canadians. It has lots of character. The staff speak english and are very nice. When we asked them to put the leafs game on they were very accommodating. The food is very authentic bar food. Hamburgers fries chicken wings are delicious. I would highly recommend it.

Always a great experience. Food was delicious and service was top notch. We love the remodel upstairs. We'll definitely be back for some burgers, drinks and good company.

We've been coming to Zihua for several years (family from MN & TX), and La Hija del Capitan and the Fishin Hole are two of our favorite hang out spots. We've become "regulars" and always enjoy our time at both places. Tanya, Danny, Kenny, Felipe, Lalo, Max, Clemente & all others (unsure of the spelling for their names) always welcome us and make us feel great and part of the family. The menu is mostly typical bar food, but everything we've tried has been delicious (we've had wings, ribs, roast beef sandwiches, hamburgers, fries, potato wedges, and many others). The beers are always very cold, and the drinks are well made. Stop by their gift shop next door for some cool (and popular) t-shirts, koozies, and other items. And don't forget to check out the fun Thursday bingo at the Fishin' Hole Too (upstairs).

We had the most delicious Chili Fries. It’s award winning Chili and it was so good! We also had the wings…they were cooked perfectly but a wee bit tiny. We did enjoy them. Tanya and her brother were so gracious and welcoming! And Curling…The Scottie’s was on. It’s a great stop…the menu looked really good!

Beautiful shaded location overlooking the bay, with buskers playing pleasant music nearby. But service was indifferent/grudging at best when we arrived at 1:30. Waiter indicated that the kitchen was transitioning but we could order some simple snacks. Nachos and buffalo wings were just average and overpriced. When another server brought my change it was short 55 pesos. Will not return. Otherwise we have been very happy with meals and service at other restaurants in Zihua.

Good place to enjoy and view the local daily activities and the Zihua bay. Slow service getting food served. Food quality is consistently just average. Employees are always pleasant and (most seem to) speak English.

We’ve been coming here for 25 years plus and it’s still our favourite place for pizza , margaritas and very good also !

We tried to eat a late lunch / early dinner here. I don’t know if they were between shifts but we ended up leaving after no service for 15 minutes.

This was our favorite place for breakfast. We would go every morning and watch the boats in the harbor. We could have the table as long as we wanted and the view was amazing. We had dinner a few times too and it never disappointed. Fresh squeezed juice, warm homemade tortillas and a variety of egg and other breakfast dishes. We tell anyone we know that this is the place to go and we can't wait to go back again. Thank you for such a warm and welcoming experience.

Heard great things about this place. We were a little let down. I did try the octopus which wasn’t bad. I have nothing to compare it to but can cross it off my bucket list. My partner’s rib eye was not so great. More on the blue side than med-rare. The service was not very attentive. They were quite busy so perhaps this affected the food and service.

We went here 3 times as the first time the meat was excellent. The second time we ordered a medium filet mignon and it came very rare (raw), not the end of the world but not what we ordered. So the 3rd time I ordered a medium/well filet mignon in the hope that it would be a little less raw this time. Our dishes arrived after about an hour of waiting, 3 of us ordered steak and chips of varying cuts, they were all completely annihilated as were the fries. It was like trying to eat a shoe, so dry and tough. I made the observation to the waiter and he said as we had already eaten a bit (a couple of bites) there was nothing he could do. We ate as much as we could as we were hungry and had been waiting a fair while. The manager never came over and we were billed in full. So, if you do decide to go, avoid the steaks and don't expect much from the service if anything goes wrong.

Very nice setting along the walkway on playa principal. My wife had lasagna and loved it. The pasta was thin and delicious. I ordered a Greek Salad. Not exactly what I expected but it was good. I also ordered the tuna steak. It was only okay. We will be back to try the pizza because that looked delicious.

Quite disappointed in our meal. We wanted a really nice piece of fresh fish, and since it was near the pier, thought this was a good bet. Good atmosphere, a rotation of wandering musicians playing for tips. Bad margaritas, touristy big glasses with lots of filler mixer. Calamari app was subpar. The catch of the day, mahi mahi, was smothered in an almond cream sauce that I can only describe as disgusting, couldn't eat it. The snapper was good, vegetables and potatoes good. Nice service. We won't go back - not authentic at all.

Our family of 6 went for dinner well ordered something different and we all were very pleased with our meal from Pizza ,ribs, lasagna, etc delivered at the same time hot and delicious. Great waiter,took a little time but we aren’t going anywhere! Will definitely be returning.

Everything about our meal was perfect. Service was exceptional and everyone was so friendly. Our server even asked me if I wanted more ice which is almost unheard of in Mexico. Mexican pizza and stuffed peppers were phenomenal! Highly recommend.

My husband took me here for my birthday. It was a great experience, atmosphere and lovely dinner. Definitely unexpected and takes you away from Mexico for a moment into the far east. A variety of choices of Mediterranean cuisine, Indian and Thai. We had the Sultan Sword which was really good. What made dinner even more special was the live belly dance to some Arabic music. The owner is also nice and friendly and introduced the dancer and the evening. The service was good as well. They also have outdoor dining also. But definitely best to make reservations and confirm it as this place gets full on belly dancing night. Walk in will get turn away and you don't want to miss out on this hidden gem so make your reservations online. Definitely will be back when I come back to Zihuatanejo.

Arabic food is one of my personal favorites. I loved the vegan options here, the tea, view...excellent spot! The Tabbouleh, hummus, and falafel was amazing. We will be back! Update: We've eaten here like 5 times and it's so so good.

What, amazing Arabic food in Zihua? We had the “Tasting Menu” it was a delicious variety of appetizers, salads, kabobs, and dessert for two. We were stuffed! I saw they also have Thai and India, oh well another time. Also beautifully decorated, great view and service. Highly recommended!

Worst dining experience This was the worst dining experience of my life. It took an hour and 30 minutesto get our food and then it was cold. I repeatedly asked the wait staff to check on my order and they kept saying it was on a plate. I'm sorry I don't like to say negative things but this was the worst service and the worst restaurant I've ever experienced in my life and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. The wait staff doesn't give you a straight answer the food was cold and took an hour and 30 min. They also didn't give us some of the ordered food but I couldn't waste any more time with them. Stay away from this place unless you like cold food and a long wait time. I would give it less than one star but that doesn't allow you to do it. Very poor service and food. A real minus 2 score in my opinion stay away !!

Second time there. First time was good, so we thought we would go back. Food was very good. The bill however had 330 pesos added to it. It also came with two complimentary beverages that were questionable to drink. We questioned bill and got that straightened out. The waiter seemed like no big deal but seemed to make a joke about it with his buddies up top. We ended up leaving a 10% tip but have been tipping 30% or more. Dumped complimentary beverages. Just did not trust. We won 't be going back.

Sat down at a table that hadn’t been bused yet after trying to get the waitstaffs attention. After sitting there for over 15 minutes someone bused the table, but did not ask if I needed anything. I did say hello to him, but he didn’t even glance my way. A lady sat down with me (I enjoy family style) and they asked her if she wanted anything and ignored me. I waited another 15 minutes to try and catch any one working to try and order drinks for my husband (who was in the water) and myself. After 35 minutes of being patient I left. The other restaurants at playa gato were not accomodating either. Perhaps it was because it was a busy Sunday afternoon? I was ready to spend money, but there was no one that wanted to help me do that. Shame. Won’t be back there and will tell everyone to not waste their time at playa gatos

This is a great little breakfast spot. The coffee is good as are the hotcakes... my fav. In the afternoon you can cool down with a delicious cold infusion drink... like strawberry/mango. It's on the wide walkway opposite the beach and boats and provides a relaxing place to people watch and listen to a live guitarist/musician. The service is friendly and attentive.

I would probably vote, best coffee cafe in Zihuatanejo. My favorite cafe to hang out. Fun to watch international parade of people walk by. The best musicians show up and play concerts, over the top. Like a beautiful movie set here, beautiful views of water, bay, boats, flora. Recommend for breakfast, mango smoothies, fruit crepes and coffee. Note to self: get here early, get a table.

Good coffee, friendly folk (staff and regulars), relaxed feel, enjoyable view over the bay and neighbouring site where the fishermen sell their catch. Coffees (good espresso machine and good beans), have herbal teas, fresh cakes (spice, chocolate, carrot), crepes, croissants. 2024-12-16 Now they have some pretty special breakfasts! Go for it!

My wife and I are back in Zihua after a three year absence and are disappointed to discover that La Lonja is no longer open for dinner! We were looking forward to a return visit to our favorite restaurant in town. Will not be paying them a visit for breakfast, so cannot update my food review. FROM 3 YEARS AGO: This little hidden gem was recommended to us by another restaurant owner in the Ixtapa area. I would highly recommend you add this to your "must eat at" list while vacationing in the Zihuatanejo / Ixtapa area. I would rate it as being slightly above average for prices, but the service was great, cocktails were on for 2-for-1 and we were eating dinner in Zihua - who can complain?! My wife had the ribeye steak while I decided on the grilled octopus. She chose a side of grilled vegetables, while I had a bake potato as the side with my meal. Everything was cooked to perfection and very tasty. The chimichurri sauce for my wife's steak was also excellent. For starters we split an appetizer of breaded calamari and a bowl of clam soup. The soup was more of a creamy bisque, but was rich and flavorful. The calamari were tender and served with a marinara sauce, which was not what we would call a marinara sauce in Canada, but it was still delicious. I have come to realize breaded calamari in Mexico does not truly mean breaded (as in bread crumbs), but apparently battered and fried like pub-style fish and chips. I initially discovered this at another restaurant I reviewed where it was a huge failure. At La Sonja, although battered instead of breaded, it was still tasty and cooked properly. We finished off dinner with a crepe served with Nutella and a side scoop of ice cream. It was very good and just the right amount split between two people after a big meal. As I mentioned, I would definitely suggest you add this to your list of restaurants to go to in Zihua; I can't imagine you would be disappointed. Not sure what forms of payment are accepted; we used Pesos.

This is an Italian deli that has delicious pizza. Last evening I ordered their Hawaiian pizza, and it was loaded with plenty of toppings on a delicious thin crust- cooked to perfection! They have more than pizza though and I’m going to order a pasta dish next time, as I think it will be delicious too. There is no seating for eating though, just take out, although there are benches to use while waiting for your order. There you have it! The secret is out! Delicious take away food, and very reasonably priced!

All is delicious here! We had the tortas salícicci and caprese both were deliciosa with capuchino. We highly recommend Santinis for both savoury and sweet since their desserts are to die for. We are regular clients and live here

A good, clean budget place to eat that has breakfast and lunch; lots of good choices for kids including pancakes burritos, tacos, etcetera. Only about a block away from the beach across from the Banorte. Looks tiny from the outside but the place goes back pretty far and there are lots of tables, good for families with picky kids.

This is one of my favorite breakfast places in Zihua. It appears simple and sparse, but this is a local's place. You'll see people having quick meals on their way to work in the morning. The staff is friendly and the food is good. Hands down one of the best places to get jugo verde (the green juice)-- try it!

24 hour taco place. The tacos are simple and very good. The place is nothing special looking. Who cares about that. Cheap, quick, available, delicious tacos at all hours. However, you have to yell at them to order. No one ever smiles and the worst part is trying to PAY when you finish. It's impossible to know who takes the money. It changes every time I go. Hold your money in the air and scream I want to pay! No one responds. No one cares. I speak Spanis. That doesn't matter. For such a busy place they have the same flaw as so many establishments in the Mexican food industry, complete disorganization. It's a fiasco 9 times out of 10. Wrong orders, service with a frown, dirty counters, and impossible to pay. Will I go back? Two or three times per week. It's open all night and it's tasty. That's it.

Best burger EVER! (quoting my 15 year old son) We vacationed here for a solid week, trying all types of restaurants which some good, some okay, some bad and most all pricey. On our last day, my son was craving a burger! Googled this place, Mr.Lalos! Headed over there, ordered our food, was done quickly! While waiting for our order spoke to the owner which stated he learned his flavors and cooking techniques in the US. Place was clean. He was so polite, and you knew he believed in his restaurant, his recipes! My son, sister-in-law and niece got burgers and devoured them to say the least. They said every bite had awesome pungent flavors. They all said they’ve never tasted a burger liked this one. Mind you they all got a different style burger….yes there was an eclectic variety! The buns were crispy on the outside and buttery on the inside, they even said the tomatoes were delicious, lol. We definitely will be going back. Thank you Lalo for your hospitality!!

He has moved 3 times, from a 4 table, to 6 table and now a 10 table (roomy) restaurant. My pear/goat cheese salad, sea bass, and dessert were all excellent! A couple of things to know: the restaurant accepts cash only and, because it’s located off a busy Zihua side street, traffic is on the louder side. Didn’t seem to matter too much to us though!! My favorite place to eat in Zihua! Chef Pallin is the best in the business. He has trained as a chef at a school in Canada, and combines these skills with a knowledge of the local cuisine & the freshest ingredients. A delicious private dinner was very reasonably priced, & the mango dessert was the best I've ever tasted. In the morning, green smoothie, fresh fruit plate, & eggs at his place is the best way to start your day! Plus he's very friendly & speaks excellent English!

We had a very nice meal last night at Chef Pallin”s restaurant last night. Great little 5 top restaurant with very personal service! We had the dorado with white wine and capers long with an excellent tuna dish. Tender crisp veggies and a mashed potato made fresh daily! A pear and goat cheese salad to start along with some excellent tempura shrimps. For dessert, we had the mango spring roll with chocolate sauce and home made coconut ice cream! Great margaritas and nice wine selection! A definite must try if you haven’t yet! Reservations are recommended!

This was the best meal we had in Zihuatanejo! We came to celebrate my birthday and the staff was amazing and went above and beyond! The food and wine were great! They do lobster but you need to call in advance to order. Highly recommend!!
