Good spot. I went here a lot while in Santa Marta. It gets good on Friday and Saturdays. The staff is pretty good but just like all of Santa Marta, they don't ever get too friendly (even if they seen you many times before). But overall, nice vibe, good place to dance / drink. DJ's are good.

I recommend this place, mostly for the music, the DJ is kind of a helper in the meaning of playing the music the crowd wants to hear. Prices are so normal, not to high not to low

This is a great bar to dance to international and local music. It is full sometimes but the vibes are amazing. There is a DJ that sets the party and good drinks. The bathrooms are clean. You will spend a great night at "La puerta" if you love to dance.

Cool place! Stopped in to have drinks - which were very good. I had the Red Fruit Soda with tajin lined rim. Yum! We played a few games of dominoes supplied by the bar. Music was loud but good. Not a date place or if you're looking for 1:1 conversation. Good place for kids groups.

One of the coolest rock bars I have ever been to in the world! The staff are super friendly and cool, the music is super on point, and the atmosphere makes you want to live in Santa Marta just so you can make this your regular bar.

If you’re looking for a different vibe in Santa Marta I would HIGHLY recommend crabs. Greeted by Rock music upon arrival, the place is absolutely booming and has a completely different atmosphere to the outside. Drinks are reasonably priced. Staff are awesome & very well decorated!

The best place for rocks and blues in town. Very good ambience and service. Try out the in house cocktails. They have good collection of whiskies also. My only complaint is that for snacks, nachos are the only available option. One or two more addition to snacks would be really appreciated.

It is the best bar in Santa Marta, the experience is unique, the history that takes the bar to today is spectacular, Mr. Oscar's passion in music is wonderful, without a doubt you have to go and visit. Avoid, avoid, avoid. Tried to push expensive cocktails on us despite the signs outside advertising X2 for $25,000. Then absolutely ripped us off for the price of X2 shots, and had the cheek to include a service charge. Don't go here

The security guy made us pay the entrance because he saw we were not from here, but we found out by asking upstairs that it was free ! We went out with our money back, the guy didn’t even apologize. Never seen something like that, that is just taking people for stupid person, and the most disrespectful behavior. Supposed to be one of my fav places to party in SM but last time it was “reserved” and they asked me to come back at 11… bc I used to liked it I did it but they said that they were reserved again… not clear info and quality of service is getting lower 😢 I hope it changes bc I used to love partying in there…

We were there for a rooftop drinks and dance. You can find a great selection of drinks at a reasonable price. Music is excellent with a variety of artists from Salsa to Reguetón. Excellent bar tenders. I will definitely will go back there in my next visit to Santa Marta, Colombia.

Dondé Chucho Gourmet will get very busy for evening meals. The wait can be 20-60 minutes. It has some indoor seating, but the outdoor garden is a beautiful setting for dinning.

PROS: The best Piña Colada I’ve had in my life!! Worth every penny 👏🏼👏🏼 CONS: Food is OK but not the best… pretty mediocre to be honest. Staff lacks proper training. In the outdoor seating, conversation is not possible mostly due to the loud music from dueling neighbor establishments.

The tartar de atún and encocado de mariscos were absolutely amazing! And the limonada de coco from here is one of my favorites. It’s a cute outdoor patio vibe with a couple adorable cats wandering through. Definitely recommend if you like seafood!

If you want to come waste your time for decent food at best, then do I have a place for you! We arrived around 8pm for dinner in a group of 6 and it was the only time the server was attentive in a timely manner. We waited a good 20 minutes for our drinks to arrive along with an extra 10 minutes for the appetizer before being informed that some of our orders (lobster and certain beers) were not available. After that, all communication broke down and we waited about little over an hour for our server to tell us the food would arrive shortly, another 15 minutes. During that time I ordered a beer that the server had no knowledge of but was on the menu. I received the wrong beer. Once we received our entrees, the accompanying side plates took another 10-15 minutes to arrive. We were never asked about our meal, if we needed anything extra, and had to call out our server 30 minutes after our plates were removed to get the bill. We never received our bill and at around 10:20 we saw our server walking out of her shift with backpack and cell phone in hand. I had to furiously walk in and demand to pay my tab and ask them if this was the regular level of respect they gave to their customers. I declined to pay the service or gratuity fee, and to the concern of at least the last server, he was apologetic about the situation. As someone that has worked in hospitality for over 10 years, I understand that things can go wrong, but such a lack of communication and expectation that the customers will just deal with this when they are paying for a service is disappointing at best and disrespectful at worst. I highly suggest to anyone considering this restaurant to take this into consideration and the managers/owners of the restaurant to seriously look into the lack of customer service and communication along with huge lapses in timeliness.

Great place for fish and seafood with lots of different options. Were full when I first wanted to go there, so reserving a table might be a good idea. Unfortunately, no wines and service was okay but not great.

We enjoyed our dinner there. The ambiente is very beautiful, tastefully decorated and nice music. The staff is attentive. For the quality of the food it's a bit overpriced in our opinion. They don't have desserts except one" dessert of the house".

Parque de los novios is where all the visitors go in Santa Martha. Very friendly and safe place, a lot of souvenir stores and restaurants. Mariachis and more, I really enjoyed walking around it. Also, if you go to Santa Marta, you need to have lunch in Chuchos restaurant, which is located in one of the corners of parque de los novios everybody knows it you can ask. And don't forget to have an ice cream in Nevossa, one of the best also

A nice little plaza, buzzing with life at night as you'd expect given its location in the Centro Histórico. The government building on its one side is impressive (pictured) and all the streets around it are lively and fun.

An amazing park/area in the Centro Histórico part of Santa Marta. Surrounding the main park, there are a LOT of good restaurants, bars and discotecas. At night, the place becomes EXTREMELY LIVELY, especially on weekends.

Nice little park by the center of downtown. I don't know how late it's safe to stay here but lots of activity surrounding bars and restaurants. You can buy beers from vendors and hang out, park is generally well lit. Few statues for that picture taking moment.

Long and fairly wide beach. Warm water. Lots of tents and chairs available, for a small cost. Lots of vendors selling just about everything. In the early morning hours down by walking bridge you can buy fresh fish.

Really only went for a walk along the beach as I'm staying a couple of towns over. The beach was really busy for a Monday morning, but it wasn't out of control. A lot of people trying to sell you stuff, but they weren't being very aggressive about it. It was really clean considering the amount of people there.

El Rodadero Beach – A Maltreated Paradise El Rodadero Beach has the potential to be a true paradise. In the early morning, especially around 6am, it's absolutely breathtaking — clear waters, a stunning natural landscape, and the peaceful backdrop of surrounding mountains. At that hour, it feels untouched and serene, the kind of place that makes you pause in awe. But sadly, that beauty is short-lived. As the day progresses, the beach becomes crowded — not just with locals and tourists, but also a high number of street vendors offering everything from food and souvenirs to water activities and tours. While a vibrant atmosphere can be part of the charm in some destinations, here the issue goes deeper. The real disappointment is how the environment is treated. Trash is often thrown directly into the sea and onto the sand, much of it coming from vendors, visitors and locals alike. Within just a few hours, the beach can go from pristine to polluted, losing much of the magic it offered at sunrise. It’s heartbreaking to see such a naturally beautiful place degraded by neglect and lack of care. El Rodadero could be a gem — and still is, if you catch it at the right time — but it desperately needs better environmental stewardship and respect from both locals and visitors. The sunrise could be stunning as well if you can find a decent and clean spot.

Definitely the better beach than the one at Santa Marta. Longer stretch of sand with more beach facilities. Only issue is trying to lay on the beach in peace and quiet without having vendors poking at you.

Unfortunately a very, very dirty beach with loads of plastic everywhere and a strong smell of rotting fish and urine. The atmosphere of people laughing and partying is very nice, but it is ruined by the sheer amount of people trying to sell you everything under the sun, more than I’ve ever seen.

Unfortunately this time around, I have found the Rodadero very dirty: the beach and sea was, generally, with a lot of trash, in particular plastic. I do understand that with Santa Marta festival they had extra tourist, still, this is not acceptable. Please, clean the beaches and add extra trash cans so the people don't have to walk miles to dispose rubbish.

Terrible experience! They require a minimum of 500,000 pesos to get a table. We had already spent 250,000 and asked for a room, but they told us the amount we had already spent didn’t count toward the minimum. We were a group of 10, and they refused to accommodate us because they said the VIP limit was 8 people—even though the place wasn’t even full. The service was awful, and the waiters were extremely rude. Honestly, if you’re looking for good service and a welcoming atmosphere, this is not the place. Definitely not recommended.

Unfortunately we missed the famous rooftop parties. On Monday and Tuesday only the 2nd-floor bar is open — almost no people around, but the music is blasted so loud you can’t even have a conversation. If your goal is to go deaf, highly recommended. Otherwise, only bother staying here if there’s a rooftop party you actually want to attend.

Fantastic place for Latinos and foreigners. Good music, reasonably priced drinks, and excellent service. Depending on the season for the festivities, we were there in September, but it was fantastic. From the moment we entered to the end.

Be warned, they tell you on arrival that it is a party hostel...And basically use that as an excuse to dismiss any of your issues because of the loud music. There's a difference between a party hostel, where you can party if you want, versus this which is obligatory and you will get zero sleep because of the volume. Note...on their booking websites it does not mention the night music aspect at all. So it's a complete bait and switch, taking your booking then not wanting to refund you if you can't sleep. Loud music shakes the entire building all night long until 2:30am...even on week days. And if you think you are going to recover from that partying by taking a nap during the day...hah, you wish. It's literally impossible to sleep here, day or night. They moved me to their building next door, telling me it would be more quiet. It was quiet for the first night over there, and immediately the next night the music was so loud I could not sleep. If you genuinely plan on staying awake until 4:00 a.m. every night, and like partying and clubbing every night...great. But if you expect to actually sleep in this hostel, or even want to take one day off of the partying, too bad.

Definitely one of the worst hostels I have visited in my life. - I get that it is a party hostal, but a bit (basic) of sound isolation for the rooms, which is where people want to rest (in case it's not clear enough) would be appreciated. - After not being able to sleep until the Karaoke night was done, I accidentally left my charger connected to the bed's socket (upper bunk bed in a 4 bed room). I asked them to save it for me since I had another reservation two days later, but they replied with a negative + 'that's what happens when you sleep next to strangers' message.

So good we went twice during our stay in Santa Marta! Tried two of the arepas, a salad, and two of the bowls. The lulomint smoothie was divine too! I recommend sitting inside as the outside tables got pretty noisy with street performers and vendors/rappers approaching you every couple of minutes.

Fantastic food and quick and courteous service! As others have said, the food and smoothie options were very healthy and I came away feeling full in a good way. We also received complimentary (and delicious) starter soup and dessert with a four person order. I like practicing Spanish at restaurants, but the people who work here are fully fluent in English in case you need it.

Really delicious food, tons of vegan and vegetarian options, the cocktails are pretty good, and the location is unbeatable. The only downside is that there are a lot of people asking for money right outside the door, so outdoor sitting is not comfortable for dinner, since they don’t leave you alone. It’s better to eat inside.

Well located in one of the busiest and touristic street of the city centre. Food is good, not exceptional though. Servings are quite generous. Service is great, smiling, pro, efficient. The only thing with the busy street is that you get annoyed by lot of ppl who are asking for money, or playing music. I would still recommend the place for a quick dinner.

LamArt is definitely one of the best restaurants in the centre of Santa Marta and located in the main spot for restaurants and bars. We had the tropical ceviche (fish and octopus with fresh mango) and black rice with shrimps. The taste of both dishes was excellent and also the service was outstanding. I can also recommend the cocktails (especially during happy hour: 2x for COP 30.000 😎) which are also way better than the average you will find in Santa Marta.

My seafood pasta was decent, but my boyfriend’s beef was absolutely delicious—cooked to perfection, just the way he wanted. The restaurant had live music, which we really enjoyed, and the service was incredibly attentive. It made for a lovely dining experience overall.

Mixed but Promising Greek Dining Experience My recent meal at Ouzo Restaurant had its highs and lows. Some dishes impressed, while others fell slightly short. The Greek salad was fresh and well-composed, with crisp vegetables and creamy feta, but it missed the sharp, tangy punch of vinegar that would have elevated it. Similarly, the tzatziki sauce was creamy and refreshing, though a brighter touch of lemon would have given it that perfect zest. On the stronger side, the medium-rare steak was cooked flawlessly juicy, tender, and seasoned just right. The grilled shrimp also stood out, packed with smoky, garlicky flavor. Unfortunately, the surf and turf shrimp didn’t deliver the same impact; the shrimp were slightly overcooked and underseasoned, leaving the dish (shrimp) a bit bland. Despite a few misses, Ouzo shows promise with its highlights. For now, it earns a solid 3.8/5 worth a visit, especially if you stick to their standout dishes.

The Bri Cheese was absolutely delicious! 😍 The pizza Ouzo 10/10!! The salmon was also really good! 🙌 The gyro honestly can be better I wouldn’t order it again needs more meat.

The service was excellent and very attentive, sadly I don't remember the waitor's name, but he was very dedicated and spoke English. Nice bar. Had to come check it out because of the reviews. Very nice feel with the music and the open atmosphere. The only negative thing is that every 45 seconds someone is begging you for money. And while it broke my heart each time someone would come and ask for money, it's very hard to relax and enjoy a drink that way. You have to always stay alert and that is very annoying. It's like they know it's a tourist spot. Not the bar's fault though and I pray this changes.

Fries were frozen fries so a bit disappointed. The burger was OK. Prices were fair. Waiters were overwhelmed and couldn't give us mayonnaise even by asking twice. Does not deserve it's current rating around 4.7, so I'm giving 1 ⭐.

We had the Beyond Burger and it was really good. Unfortunately it’s extremely expensive. We paid over 100’000 COP for two burgers with fries and one beer. Further, the portions are too small. They even tried to double charge the fries!

We went for dinner on a Thursday evening. The food was ok but the service was not good… we waited for almost an hour to get our dishes. Other tables who arrived later than us got their food earlier which seems like that if you order chicken wings it would be quick but if you order dinner dishes it will just take forever. We also had to ask twice for the check because the first time the waiter simply just forgot about it after multitasking. To be fair they have more than enough waiters for the amount of tables they have and I feel they just need to pay more attention to the needs of their customers rather than chilling at work.

A lovely place close to the marina with a great view. Went on a Tuesday night for a beer and decided to stay for a meal because of the atmosphere. Good music playing and not abnoxiously loud like a lot of places here in Colombia. The burgers were out promptly and were about what you would expect for the price. The only down side is that the wind occasionally whips up a bit of sand across the service area.

First the patio is really nice and well decorated, with a pool (unique in Santa Marta!) palms, flowers and it’s very close to the most popular streets in Santa Matra in calle 18. 2nd, the food and cocktails are various and well cooked with à finest mix with Colombian dishes and European food. Finally Team is really great , thanks to the two French brothers and their lovely Colombian team , we spent 2 very nice night in Patio Querido! We will definitely come back next time !
