Bodegas Castañeda is a storied eatery with a bohemian ambiance and outdoor seating, dating back to 1927. Located in the heart of Granada along Calle Almireceros, this classic haunt offers sensational homemade Vermouth and wine served from wooden wall-mounted barrels. The traditional bar features floor-to-ceiling barrels of wine, drawing visitors into a treasure trove of fine local cuisine.
Best traditional, authentic tapas restaurant we visited in Granada, the free starter, rice, saffron, and vegetable stew was a pointer that was to come. But the sharing boards are amazing. The three centre bowls on the board are incredible dishes. We paired this amazing food with a superb local bottle of Calvente wine. definitely don't miss out on this eating experience when in Granada.

Traditional Andalusian restaurant. Tasty dishes but I ate better tortilla, except this all other was very good and well prepared. The restaurant is crowded and noisy for me it wasn't a problem, you can feel local atmosphere. If you sit beside toilet you can feel detergents that is not favorable. The staff was quick and well coordinated.

Best meal in Spain so far! The oxtail was amazing! So tender and savoury. Service was super quick even though there’s a line. You can go straight to the bar to skip the line. There’s a charge for bread they automatically bring to the table, but the bread was really good with the oxtail. Pricing was also very fair. We didn’t try other dishes so I cannot comment on those. But the place was busy with both tourists and locals so that’s definitely a good sign.
C D — Google review
It’s a popular authentic old tapas bar. Expensive and food is average. Take a seat outdoor with 10% service charge. Even though you not order the bread but it will count on you. I visited on Thursday but too crowded inside the bar, only could take a seat outdoor, feel stressed and pushy. There’s lot of good tapas bar and I will not return. P.s. : Comment on other review with free tapa but seems like there’s no luck to me even I order 3 glass of wine.

Had a wonderful evening at Bodegas Castaneda last night, we popped in for a drink and became immersed in the atmosphere and the unexpected benefit of free Tapas. It’s a great traditional bar that serves nice food, so you do have to grab the waiter or bar man’s attention and be patient. Was a lovely evening and great value.
Colin — Google review
A bit disappointed by this restaurant especially after having tasted other very good restaurants in Granada. Bodegas Castaneda is often recommended as the most authentic and local restaurant in Granada and there is often a short queue to have a table. The food however is average, nothing exceptional except for the Rabo de toro which was simply exceptional and delicious. I suggest to try other restaurants in Granada first before trying this one
Pier — Google review
Very disappointing experience. We saw this place on a recommended tapas place so we went… but totally ruined the night. The waiter who seemed to be the manager, Jose was so rude and kept making us feel like we were bothering him for ordering drinks… he was sitting down by the stairs smoking and ordering other waiters to do things. We ordered the most expensive Jamon but it was too salty that we couldn’t finish it. Won’t be back.
Liz H — Google review
I recently returned from a vacation in Spain. During my trip to Granada, I had a very unpleasant experience at this establishment. They brought me bread even though I didn't order it. The bread was stale, but they double-charged it on my bill. Imagine my surprise when I ordered a seafood salad and saw finely chopped tuna, peppers, and onions (not exactly fresh), drenched in a huge amount of vegetable oil. I also ordered a Russian salad, which consisted of mashed potatoes with raw potato pieces inside, drizzled with mayonnaise. I found a small piece of wire in the puree. When I showed it to the waiter, he responded, "But it's only one small piece." Honestly, in my 50s, having traveled to many countries around the world, I have never tasted such disgusting food. The waiter laughed at my bewilderment. They serve bad food and behave disgustingly. I will never go there again. I recommend trying other restaurants in Granada first before going here. I DO NOT RECOMMENDED

Mediterranean restaurant
Nestled in the historic Albaicin neighborhood of Granada, El Trillo Restaurante offers a captivating dining experience. The restaurant is set in a renovated carmen, featuring fruit trees and tranquil water sounds, creating an oasis with stunning views of the majestic Alhambra. The culinary offerings at El Trillo are a feast for the senses, showcasing artfully presented Mediterranean dishes that celebrate the rich flavors of Spain.
The food was delicious. We took a red wine that was full of flavour. As the mains, we took the risotto with octopus and bolleto mushrooms, it was the best I have ever eaten, the grilled octopus, and the pork with pumpkin puree. I recommend these dishes. The service was friendly and nice. The atmosphere was peaceful, an oasis full of verdure with a fountain in the middle.

The restaurant is an absolute gem! The food is excellent, with beautifully crafted dishes full of flavor. Service is attentive and welcoming, making the experience even more enjoyable. It’s quiet, cozy, and pleasantly not overcrowded. But the real highlight is the atmosphere: a charming courtyard that feels like a hidden escape, and the upper terrace with a stunning view that makes the whole dining experience unforgettable.

e stumbled upon this restaurant by chance whilst exploring the old town in Granada. We had lunch and were so impressed that we made a reservation for an evening meal a few days later on our last evening. Excellent menu with imaginative vegetarian options. Nice wine list, good service, and lovely location with a fabulous view of the Alhambra.
Jacqueline C — Google review
It was the most tender octopus I’ve ever eaten!!!!!! And the waiter (I should’ve asked his name) was so nice to us. We also had the black rice with squid (also super yummy) and the tomato salad (love tomato season). The palace view was superb as well 🥹 It was so chilled. Loved it and thanks 🙏 btw I visited here in August
Charlotte H — Google review
The food is good but average, the paella is really under cooked. The fish is average, not the best taste and freshness, but can be 4.4/5.0. No service for serving wine nor changing plates. Good view, and nice private atmosphere.
Kayla — Google review
We had such a great time in this peaceful courtyard, surrounded by beautiful plants and the relaxing sound of fountains—it was a treat for both the taste buds and the soul. The food was amazing! We had the wild boar and grilled octopus, and both were super tasty and well presented. You can really feel the love for cooking that Jesús Pernía got from his mom and grandma. The service was also excellent—friendly, warm, and attentive from start to finish. Coming back to try other dishes tonight. There are three different areas to enjoy your meal: the cozy indoor space, the lush garden courtyard, and the terraza with a beautiful view. If you’d like a table with a view of the terraza, we definitely recommend making a reservation in advance—it’s worth it! Thanks so much for the warm hospitality! Lots of love from Ukraine and Romania.

Tucked into the winding streets of the Albacin, far from the bustle of the city center, El Trillo was a lovely find for a calm dinner at sunset. We were seated on the terrace with a beautiful view of the Alhambra. The menu included innovative riffs on classic Andalusian dishes. The Iberian pig cheek was meltingly tender yet rich in taste and the Octopus and boletus risotto beautifully balanced the briny sweetness of the octopus with the earthy tones of the boletus (better known as porcini mushrooms in Italian and English) Service was unhurried but attentive creating a lovely setting for quiet conversation.. Their wine list was thoughtfully curated with a focus on smaller Spanish producers offered more than a few delightful choices. Plan to stay a while to sip a glass of wine, savor the flavors, and bask in the last golden rays of the day!
Jeff C — Google review
From El Trillo Restaurante, you get the prime view of Alhambra. Though a restaurant can't trive on views, we found the archetcture of the restaurant was very unique. Upon entering the restaurant, a scented Buddha stature greets you. You can have the garden seating or balcony seatings that can view Alhambra. We chose the latter with the following dishes: Arroz Pulpo, Arroz Negro, and Bacalao a La Plancha. The pan seared cod coupled with fried pumpkins and beans was tender and fresh. To add the flavor, three thinly sliced pork belly (fat) were placed on top of the cod. The octopus risotto and octopus in black rice were something worthy of trying. Personally I like the black rice octopus. The octopus risotto was too rich in butter and cream. The sangria was a little bit too dry and not fruity enough. One final tip is to spread some mosquitoes repellent before you go there. Because while you dine, the buggers will also have their meals.

Restaurante La Botillería is a lively gastrobar in Granada that offers regional tapas dishes and sit-down lunches. The cozy tavern has a curated selection of Andalusian wines and sherries that will tantalize your taste buds. While it used to be more of a bar, it has now pivoted to offering more sit-down meals with a meat-heavy menu. Located on a charming cobblestone street, this restaurant exudes an old-world charm that's hard to resist.
Fantastic meal. Oxtail was out of this world and my wife's pork secreto lovely as well. Starters great to.

We tried having dinner but the restaurant was packed (good sign). We reserved for lunch for the next day We were served potato omelette for free - I appreciated that, something to whet our appetite while perusing the menu. We decided to have the Jamon and Salcichon for starters. The Jamon was sooo good. Went well with the Rioja wine and Cervesa we were drinking. We had the grilled lamb chops and pork. We thought it would not be enough because they were small but it was just right . We had space for dessert and we ordered Bartolillo- we enjoyed that very much If you are in Granada, try out this restaurant- you will not be disappointed. Good food and good service
Colette T — Google review
Good food given prices. Can recommend cod-omelette, lamb leg and lasagne-black pudding. Steak tasted meaty and was perfectly cooked, unfortunately the steak was not tender enough or high enough quality for the price. Would not order steak here again. Overall good experience,, but not full score.

I don’t usually review, but this place deserves 5 stars. Excellent artichokes. Must try lamb and pork chops. V good service.

Fantastic Restaurant with in- and outdoor seating and long opening hours with very friendly and efficient service. The only restaurant in our 10 days stay in Granada, where we were twice. Which tells much, because there are so many great places.

A meat lovers paradise! We enjoyed some excellent pork and lamb. The serving was generous. However, I would have like a larger side of vegetables and fries. Service was polite and prompt. Good value for the amount and quality of food. Easy to recommend.

Delicious meal. We appreciated the recommendations by the waiter. the tortilla, leg of lamb, and seasonal salad were delicious. We recommend the restaurant to all.

Chikito is a well-established restaurant in Granada, known for its traditional Andalusian cuisine and charming setting. Since the 1970s, it has been popular among locals and visitors alike. The menu offers a mix of adventurous and classic dishes, including delicious gazpacho, luscious remojon salad, delicate baby broad beans with jamon, and marinated sardines on avocado.
This restaurant is one of the oldest establishments in Granada. It is located adjacent to a small pleasant plaza. The entrance brings you in to the small bar where you can order a drink and enjoy a tapa. The restaurant is just next door through a beautiful old wood door. It is a cozy medium sized room with tables covered with white tablecloths. The menu features some classic dishes of Granada such as the Sacromonte omelette and snails. The waiter was attentive and the ambiance was perfect for a cold January night meal. The wine list has a comprehensive overview of Spanish wine with majority at a very affordable price with an average of 25€ a bottle. The food is not elegant or gourmet but tasty and satisfying. Comfort food.
Edward P — Google review
What a superb dinner of sardines, gazpacho followed by ox tail and steak, beautifully presented and served by the amazing Victor. Victor regaled us with stories of his 19 years at the restaurant and the list of famous people that have visited, we loved the stories. The setting was a beautiful old building with outdoor seating in the square, but it was still 37 degrees at 8pm, so we ate inside and soaked up the atmosphere. Highly recommend
Nick M — Google review
Great location with fountains around you. Service not so good and food also not the best. We ordered salad, appetizer, and meal and they never took the empty plates out that my table was full. Not sure if waiter was racist or restaurant is like that. Was excited to try the orange salad and it tasted more like a potato salad with 95% ingredients on dish being potato instead of cod or orange. The bill was dropped without emptying the table. If I’m paying 30-40 euros per person for lunch, I expect better.
Liz H — Google review
I'm going to give 4*, maybe a 5* but gut feel put me to 4*. Menu of the day 25 EUR, expensive for Spain but it was worth it. We sat on a very nice terrace, good service with proper table cloths. Plates cleared after every course. Minor things like getting a 33cl glass bottle of water, not 25cl pleased me. Minor detail also beautiful top class olives presented at beginning. All three courses of the menu were good but the pig's cheek absolutely outstanding. The flan (egg custard) was one of the best I have had in Spain. Concerning the 'a la carte' menu, it looked quite expensive. Restaurant seemed more popular with tourists (us) rather than locals. In summary, good place to eat in Granada.
James H — Google review
The establishment offers an elevated dining experience, enriched by the staff's willingness to share historical insights and a decor featuring portraits of notable figures. The service is attentive and cordial. Our party ordered the Grilled Salmon, Chicken Soup, Filet, and Oxtail. Complimentary offerings included olives bread and an artichoke salad with limoncello after the meal. The Grilled Salmon was expertly prepared, though a touch more salt could have enhanced the flavor profile. The Filet was cooked to perfection, exhibiting a desirable char and was delicious. The Oxtail, prepared in the style of a pot roast with a red wine reduction, was also exceptional. While the soup was satisfactory, it did not quite match the caliber of the other dishes. For dessert, we sampled the Fried Milk, Almond Tart, and a Frozen Tart infused with whiskey and almonds, all of which were outstanding and featured delightful flavor combinations. We will definitely love to visit again.
Benjamin V — Google review
Came back twice. First had the presa (pork) and it was melt in your mouth. Not a huge pork fan but this was done well by the chef. Second time I had the boquerones or fried anchovies and the ibérico jamón. Both amazing!! Worth a visit or two.

We found this restaurant after a full day of touring Granada. A bit off the tourist path and filled with locals. Service is absolutely outstanding. We sat outside on the patio and the ambience was great. Not a cheap restaurant but the food is incredibly good. We ordered the house specialities and they didn’t disappoint. Highly recommend

Tapas bar
Mediterranean restaurant
Bar Los Diamantes is a renowned establishment in Granada, specializing in Andalusian seafood tapas and fried fish. Since 1942, it has been serving high-quality tapas made with fresh fish. The bar is famous for its fish fritters, clams in sauce, prawns, calamari, and an exclusive Russian salad with a secret family recipe.
A great spot for authentic local vibes. The food is delicious and reasonably priced, but be prepared for a very noisy atmosphere – part of its charm. The waiters are extremely friendly, happy to recommend what to order, and even warn you if you’re ordering too much. Definitely worth visiting at least once for the experience.
Nikita P — Google review
This a great place to try out different tapas. Buying several drinks will also reward you with a plate of a random tapas. I particularly liked seafood fritos and there are a lot to choose from. Restaurant is meant to be for families or large groups having lunch or a quick bite.

We went there mainly for the fried fish and seafood, and the food was lovely. The octopus was a bit too salty, which was a slight downside, but overall we really enjoyed our meal. One waiter in particular explained everything very well and recommended some great dishes, thanks to him, we got to try some of the best items on the menu. A lovely experience overall!
Prayash B — Google review
We know this could be considered a very touristy option but it is still one of the most mentioned, recommended places based on my research. And I’m glad we tried it!! In fact, it is one of my family’s top meals from the trip, and they even went as far as suggesting to eating there again. The seafood was fresh, fried dishes are well seasoned, and the breaded dishes were just perfectly coated. You’d think for a place with multiple branches and packed with customers, they’d compromise on the quality and taste, but not here. We honestly enjoyed each and every dish (except for the paella which was a free tapa hehe). The squid was so soft whether the grilled or fried version. The pimientos de padron were perfectly seasoned and cooked. The berenjenas are so good and addicting!! The fried seafood were just so simple but so delicious. We really enjoying eating here. The only room for improvement was the service. We were a group of 7 so I understand it could be harder to get a table even on an off peak hour. But the waiter was quite dismissing telling us it’ll take an hour or so without actually checking if there are tables about to finish. But we decided to wait it out 5-10 mins and even asked if we could just wait in the counter tables outside to start drinking. But before we could even order our drinks, there was already a table available for us. Though I understand it does get pretty busy for them. So my recommendation would be just to be patient and the wait will be worth it! :)
Kim M — Google review
Wow so good. Ended up ordering 3 plates of razor clams. Had 3 rounds of drinks and each time they served us different types of tapas. Highly recommend! So sad I can’t come back tomorrow!
Liz H — Google review
Went for a drink during Spanish lunch hour - no tables available so we just stood at bar. Service was friendly despite them not being proficient in english. The complimentary fried fish (with 2 bonus calamari pieces) tapas was surprisingly generous! What a steal especially after we experienced the price points in Madrid and Seville. Would recommend to give it a try if in the area!

I visited this place 9 years ago and still remembered the amazing seafood tapas and lively atmosphere. Came back with my kids this time — everything was just as great! The free tapas, octopus, and razor clams were all delicious. So happy this place is still here. Thank you!

The restaurant takes pride in sourcing top-quality products from Andalusian markets daily. One of its specialties is the Spanish black rice paella topped with garlic mayonnaise.
Superb find in Granada! Our family of 4 visited for lunch and had a fantastic experience. We wish to say a big thank you to Pablo who’s attentive to all our needs and great advice on what to order.

I had a reservation, yet we were treated with blatant discrimination. Instead of welcoming us, the hostess gave us the worst table all the way in the back, despite my request to be seated inside. She lied, saying everything else was fully booked, but throughout our entire meal those tables stayed empty. Our server, Denise, was openly dismissive and unprofessional, making the experience feel hostile and unwelcome. The food was good, and also price also affordable but no dish can make up for the disgraceful service and the clear racism we experienced here.
Sanga K — Google review
We had a wonderful lunch at El Pescaito de Carmela, the fried calamari was delicious, I really enjoyed the fish soup, I had wine, my husband had a Vodka drink and at the end of the meal they gave us free shots. The best part was the service, the waiters were so friendly energetic and attentive, they made our lunch great. The restaurant is very spacious clean and had a very nice ambiance.
Mayi B — Google review
I’ve been here 2 times, first I had Galician style octopus which has been delicious. Also if you like cinnamon fried milk is very tasty (but I think will be better to share, comes 2 pieces) Also the tapas that they’re giving you one of a kind. Everything they bring you on table is FRESH. Second time I had seafood paella, congrats, very good. You can feel the taste of real fresh seafood. Price is higher than other places but it’s absolutely worthy. But also special thanks to service, all of them are very kind and well informed. Little note; I suggest to order things one by one because dishes are big enough, that’s why price is also very acceptable. At the end they offer you a liquor/ a kind of ice coffee.

What an amazing restaurant. Service was fantastic, food was superb, vibes were immaculate. Confused about reviews that say service is bad. I’ve been in Spain for two weeks and this place is top of the list. Thank you for your service. Oh and prices are so fair. 5/5.

I really liked the place and the food was delicious, but the service was very slow. We waited 20 minutes in line, another 20 to place the order, and 30 more for the bill, even after reminding the waiter several times. Because of this, our table was occupied much longer than needed, while people kept waiting outside. With quicker service, one or two more couples could have easily eaten after us. Next time we just ordered takeaway to enjoy the greatly cooked food without a lack of service.

I came here for lunch. The food was amazing, as you can see from the photos. I would like to mention the waiter Jesus, his service was excellent and he gave me free food and drink to taste! Incredible! Thank you so much!

The best paella we tried in Spain! You have to order min. 2 servings and I don’t eat fish so both my husband and I took 2 servings. We thought we would be able to eat it because we were very hungry and we didn't get large quantities in other restaurants, but we couldn't eat this so we took half for take away. In addition, the staff is very friendly, fast and helpful.

Mediterranean restaurant
Restaurante Ruta del Azafrán in Granada offers a unique dining experience with its theme inspired by the spice route and the coexistence of Christian, Muslim, and Sephardic cultures. The restaurant combines Mediterranean flavors with creative touches, offering dishes like Arab chicken pie with carrot salad and sea-bass with courgette and coconut sauce. Nestled in the charming streets of Granada, this culinary gem promises a flavorful journey where traditional Spanish cuisine meets a quirky atmosphere.
This is a great restaurant - staffs were very friendly, foods were well prepared (the shrimp salad tasted so good; the chicken paella in Moorish style was fabulous! The young chicken was so tender yet full of flavors). It was nice and clean inside - and the cool AC really helped in this hot weather:) all the dishes were great (and reasonably priced).

⭐️ 4/5 The only reason this experience doesn’t earn a full five stars is the service—because when it comes to the food, this restaurant delivers excellence on every plate. We stopped in for a quick lunch and ordered modestly: the crispy pork and the seabass with meat sauce. Both dishes were superb. The ingredients were evidently of high quality, each element thoughtfully paired to create a balance of flavor and texture that spoke to the chef’s precision and palate. Even with a limited tasting, it was clear that this kitchen understands harmony and restraint. Unfortunately, the service fell short of the same standard. Despite the restaurant being relatively quiet—no more than four tables occupied—the staff took a surprisingly long time to take our order, forgot our wine entirely, and ultimately left us to walk up to the counter to settle the bill ourselves. It’s a shame, because the culinary experience deserves to be matched by seamless hospitality. Still, I would gladly return for the food alone—it’s that good. With more attentive service, this could easily be one of the city’s standout dining experiences.

The food was very good, the roast pork shoulder and pineapple dessert was impressive, rich and tasty. The only drawback was that the table was not very clean, but the food was satisfactory.

Stopped in for a late lunch after a day of strolling and enjoyed excellent food, great service and a lovely view looking up to Alhambra. Everything we ordered (salads, to steak to the savory pies) was excellent both in presentation and flavor. Worth visiting if strolling around the old city.

This place was amazing! From the views of the Alhambra and old city, to the fantastic food and kind and attentive waiters. I was so impressed by the waiters- watching them run back and forth to the kitchen across the street. They were there before I even had to ask for something. I had the croquettes con jamon and the lamb chops and both were FANTASTIC. Topped it off with some recommended wine and was the perfect way to start my stay in Grenada. Thank you!!

Cacho&Pepe is a small Italian eatery located on Calle Colcha, near Plaza Nueva and Plaza de Isabel la Catolica in Granada. The restaurant offers traditional Italian dishes such as lasagnas, fresh pastas, and pizzas at affordable prices. While there are only two small tables for dining in, the majority of customers opt for takeaway due to its popularity. Customers can enjoy classic beef lasagna or various vegetarian options along with traditional desserts.
Really nice place. I had the spinach and ricotta tortellini in a tomato, ricotta and pesto sauce topped with Parmesan and it was one of the best meals I have ever eaten. Would recommend this place to anyone (especially that dish), we also had a tiramisu (my first one so don’t have anything to compare it to) but that was also really nice

Nicest service and absolutely awesome food. On top of that, the prices are incredible for the quality they serve. It is a great option for take away, as there are only two small tables - but if you are lucky enough eating in is an amazing experience.

Super happy with this little place! Only had two tables. We were fortunate to snag one for lunch. I ate the beef and mushroom cannelloni. You can tell the pasta is fresh and the cheese is homemade. Great service. Excellent Italian red wine. Really happy with this meal.

Hands down one of the BEST Italian restaurants that I have ever been to! We ordered the caprese salad, spinach and ricotta tortellini, cacio e pepe spaghetti and the tiramisu and everything was delicious! Service was also excellent.. the restaurant is small with limited seating so you might need to wait a while for a table but it is well worth it! It was so good that we came back to have dinner here as well.. will be back again for sure!

We found this tiny hole in the wall because of Trip Advisor. I could sing its praises all day. Food was amazing, staff lovely. Atmosphere inviting. Delicious!! Even took home a dish for later;)

This charming little gem is almost perfect! We had the burrata pomodoro with pesto, the burrata and pesto were both super fresh and superb. We followed with a mixed meat cannelloni, which tasted primarily of mushrooms, earthy amd delicious amd a classic cacio e pepe spaghetti. Prices are very reasonable, in keeping with the humble surroundings (only two small tables and no air conditioning) and service was the best in Granada! We made a new friend, and sang along with the chef as she prepared our meals steps away from us. Bravo!

The pasta and sauces were very delicious. The tiramisu was light – definitely worth trying. The place is small, but worth the wait.

A cute place with 2 tables. Of course, the prices are higher than in Italy, but the pastas, sauces, and tiramisu were very good. 2 pastas, 1 tiramisu, 2 Peroni — 32 Euros.

La Telefónica is a charming dinner spot in Granada, perfect for a delightful evening meal. With limited seating, it's advisable to book in advance, especially for larger groups. The menu offers delectable dishes such as tender pork cheek with crunchy breadcrumbs and a delightful selection of drinks.
Our meal at La Telefónica is the best so far in Granada. We ordered the pork ribs, sirloin steak, tomato salad with burrata and a bread basket. Every dish is delicious, pork ribs especially so. It is so tender that it melts in the mouth. David is attentive and gives great recommendations. You will not regret dining here.

Thank you David and Sara for your impeccable service. Quite palatable and portion is definitely more than enough (especially for Asians). Ordered the fried eggplant, octopus and pork ribs to share for dinner. Fried eggplant, batter was just nice and the sugarcane sauce compliments it so well. The grilled octopus was cooked perfectly, pretty fleshy and not rubbery at all. Hints of saltiness and goes so well with the potato millefueille. Pork ribs was pretty huge and well coated with sauce, great for sharing and oh so tender. Try your luck at walk-in, reservations recommended for peak hour ✨

A Culinary Gem with Star Service: Don't Miss This! Overall Impression: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5 Stars) This restaurant is an absolute triumph, delivering a truly memorable dining experience that we wholeheartedly recommend. From the first bite to the last, it was a journey of delicious food, coupled with service that was both exceptionally attentive and genuinely friendly. It's rare to find a place that excels in both these crucial areas, but this establishment managed it with effortless grace. The Food: The food was, quite simply, delicious. Without knowing the specific dishes, it's hard to offer detailed critiques, but the overarching impression was one of high quality ingredients, skillful preparation, and flavors that delighted the palate. Whether it was the appetizers, main courses, or any accompanying sides, each item we sampled was a testament to the kitchen's dedication to culinary excellence. The presentation was likely appealing, further enhancing the overall dining pleasure. This is clearly a place that takes its food seriously, and it shows with every dish. The Service: The service was a standout element of our visit. The entire staff demonstrated a remarkable blend of professionalism and warmth. We arrived without a booking, and despite the restaurant being full, they were incredibly accommodating. This willingness to go the extra mile for guests, even during peak times, is a true mark of a well-run establishment. Their friendliness made us feel welcomed and valued from the moment we stepped through the door. Special Mention: Rita's Exceptional Contribution We must give a special and heartfelt commendation to Rita. She is, without a doubt, an absolute asset to this restaurant. Rita’s attentiveness, genuine warmth, and proactive care elevated our dining experience from good to outstanding. She anticipated our needs, offered helpful suggestions (even if not explicitly mentioned, her demeanor suggests it), and ensured our table was well looked after throughout the evening. Her dedication and personal touch made us feel truly special and were a significant part of why we had such a positive impression. Thank you, Rita, for your exceptional hospitality! The Experience as a Whole: Our initial intention was to book for Sunday, but the restaurant's ability to find us a table despite being fully booked was a welcome surprise and a testament to their flexibility and commitment to guest satisfaction. This experience has solidified our belief that this is a restaurant that should not be missed. It’s the kind of place where you feel pampered and well-fed, leaving with a strong desire to return. Conclusion: If you're looking for exceptional food and service that goes above and beyond, look no further. This restaurant is a gem that deserves all the accolades. The delicious cuisine, combined with incredibly friendly and accommodating staff, particularly the wonderful Rita, makes for an unforgettable dining experience. We wholeheartedly give it 5 stars and highly recommend it to anyone seeking a truly special meal out. We will certainly be returning

Great! The Presa Iberica is sooo good, I thought it was beef at first😂The only pity is that we arrived at night so there is no pork ribs left, but Margarita is super friendly, and the cod she recommended as alternative is also really delicious! The dish in the second picture is a great conbination, but I forget what it's called. (We show the pictures to Rita and her colleagues to order) Will definitely visit once we're in Granada again!

Great environment, fantastic food and excellent service. Nice lighting, great music and space between tables so you don't feel too close to others. David did a really great job introducing me to local flavors and delicacies. Very knowledgeable and very well mannered. I was not rushed at all and had a very relaxing time. I usually do not queue for anything, but I did for this place and I have zero regrets.

This was our best food experience in Granada. Burger may seem simple, but do not be fooled by the image - it is gorgeous! Ribs are not super fat, the sauce blew my mind completely. They also served a big plate of tasty meat tapa and limoncello. My highest recommendation, and reservation is a must!

Friendly service and generous portions, especially the Iberian pork ribs. They were a bit on the greasy side, as we’re used to leaner meat in the Netherlands. The fried eggplant with honey is a specialty here and definitely a must-try!

Restaurante Carmen El Agua is a refined dining spot near the Mirador de San Nicolas, offering sweeping views of Granada and the Alhambra. The restaurant boasts a varied menu featuring traditional and modern dishes with a touch of Arabic influence. From artfully plated meat and fish dishes to flavorful salads and tantalizing desserts, every item on the menu is a treat for all the senses.
An amazing restaurant in Granada with delicious food and a beautiful view! We celebrated my friend’s birthday there and had a wonderful experience. The staff were very friendly—especially the waiter who took care of us (I can’t remember his name, but he mentioned he’s originally from Argentina). The food was fantastic, and I highly recommend this place! Just make sure to reserve in advance, and be prepared for a bit of a walk to get there—but it’s totally worth it.

This was my husband and I’s favorite meal in our Granada trip! Absolutely delicious. We had the mushroom risotto with truffle and cured beef for starters and it was the best I’ve ever had. The waiter also shaved the truffle in front of us. For our main option, we had the tuna tar tar and steak with foie with both options leaving us shaking our heads in approval. The meat was so tender! Our waiter recommended the blue cheese crème brûlée and it was definitely something I’ve never had before. If you love blue cheese then this is for you, but if not, would suggest another dessert. Of course, the whole atmosphere was sealed with the stunning view of the Alhambra.

Had dinner here during sunset and what an unforgettable experience. We watched the Alhambra bathe in golden light while tasting one of the best food we had in Granada. Highly recommend the remojon, octopus carpaccio and dim sum.

We typically stick to traditional tapas while in Spain but our tour company arranged a pre fixed menu here. It was excellent! The food was interesting and innovative! The standouts were the corvina tiraditos and the duck appetizer. The beef cheek cannoli was so enjoyable and felt like comfort food!

This is not a 5 star restaurant. It's a 6 star restaurant! A wonderful experience from start to finish. Sit on the terrace, take in the view and watch the sun set on the Alhambra. The service and the food here are worth every penny. From the complimentary vegetable juice shots to start your meal, through some of the best meat dishes we've eaten in a long time, to desserts that defy description, everything was spectacular. We can highly recommend the Galician tenderloin, the beef cheek cannelloni and the lamb. How they make a creme brulee with blue cheese taste like that, I have no idea, but it was incredible. As were all the other desserts. A special mention to the crew that was serving food on the terrace, they were brilliant at their job. If you want to treat yourself to a top notch meal, with a matching view, look no further than Carmen El Agua.

This restaurant is really a gem in Granada! It has a full view of Alhambra, the menu is particular and the food is delicious. And very important the service is very good, attentive, smiley staff, taking care of their guests very well. And it is not expensive at all (compared to European prices).

This is a delightful restaurant in Granada with amazing views of the Alhambra. There really isn’t a bad spot to see the amazing vistas, but you can request tables on the terrace or near the window indoors. The service is impeccable and very friendly. I live in Spain and speak Spanish, but everyone spoke English as well. The food preparations were so unique. Every dish was amazing. The rabbit dim sum was one of the best dishes I’ve ever had. The burrata was also a fabulous starter. My main dish of risotto was excellent, and the other dishes at the table were loved by all. The solomillo was exceptional as was the lamb. Roberto, our server, was so kind and he was very attentive. It is more expensive than many restaurants in Granada, but absolutely worth it. They also have a very nice wine list with some fabulous Spanish wines.
Gretchen G — Google review
Overall, I am not pleased with my experience at this restaurant. My husband I reserved a balcony table which was the only thing worth the money. I believe the food is overpriced for the mediocre service and customary cuisine. The server was absolutely ill-mannered and did not represent the restaurant in a manner I believe the owner would approve of. My husband and I arrived a little late but regardless should have been treated with the same esteem as any one choosing to spend their hard earn money at an establishment. The server had no suggestions of house specials pertaining to dishes or drinks and personally made the entire experience for us dreadful. We were rushed the to order and eat even though the full took forever to come out and the server took forever to bring the check. We asked for the wine list three times and was not served wine until right before our last course. From arriving to the restaurant that is tucked in a village of hills to recieving our check that included items that we did not even order was a wasted night. We will never return to this place.

It's famous for its association with the late Anthony Bourdain, who visited the restaurant during his TV show tour of Spain. Inside dining provides a less touristy atmosphere. One of the highlights of visiting Restaurante Oliver is the complimentary tapas that come with each drink ordered.
It was a joy to eat here! I highly recommend giving this place a try. Service was excellent and friendly. We were warmly welcomed and felt right at home on the outside patio. Even on a colder night, the patio was cozy and comfortable. The food was fantastic. I wish I had enough room to try everything on the menu! My sincere compliments to the chef and the two servers. Simply the BEST tapas spot in Granada. If you're going out for tapas this is the place you must visit. It is highly popular in the evenings and there's a reason for it. The sangria was excellent, refreshing and tasty. With each glass we were offered delicious free tapas, from Iberian ham, to deep fried prawns, potatoes with aioli, and my personal favourite, the fried cod. The monkfish we ordered for mains was also great. Lastly, service was quick and attentive, and the atmosphere of the bar was vibrant. I couldn't have asked for a better tapas experience.

It’s overrated and overpriced. We ordered two dishes for lunch and we had a unimpressed experience for both tastes and services. First of all, we literally point to the dishes for ordering since it might be language barrier. Turns out they gave us the dishes we were not expecting which the taste was not good(the octopus). Btw, the paella with pork is also tasted “mid”. Secondly, the bread and olives were served by the waiter without mentioning the cost. They were included in the bill. We would recommend people do not try out the dishes we ordered. Also double check with the waiter about the food you ordered and be aware of extra cost(bread and olives).

Must try in Granada! Grilled vegetables was something beyond! Seafood was all great!! I have tried shrimp with garlic in many places but they had the best here! Octopus was soft, tender, potatoes coming with it was sweet! They had great wine recommendations as well. Really loved this place and went there the second day for breakfast. Tried their classic Tostadas, amazing with olive oil. Can’t wait to visit Granada and this restaurant next time.

Restaurante Carmen De Aben Humeya offers a unique dining experience with a creative twist on traditional Andalusian cuisine. Located in two 15th century Moorish houses on the Albaicin hillside, this secluded spot provides majestic views of the Alhambra complex. The menu pays homage to Granada's mixed culture, featuring dishes like pastela moruna and monkfish with Mozarabic almond sauce alongside contemporary creations such as mango and almond gazpacho.
Restaurante Carmen de Aben Humeya in Granada is a wonderful dining experience with a view to match. We arrived close to closing time, yet the staff welcomed us warmly and treated us with incredible attentiveness and care throughout the evening. The service truly stood out: gracious, patient, and thoughtful in every detail. The food was equally impressive. We started with the sampler of assorted cheeses and jams, which was beautifully presented and full of rich, balanced flavors. The lamb tagine was a standout dish -- tender, aromatic, and deeply satisfying. The salmon was perfectly cooked, fresh, and flavorful, rounding out a well-curated and memorable meal. Combined with its romantic setting and scenic views over the Alhambra and the city, Carmen de Aben Humeya offers not just dinner, but an experience. It’s the kind of place where you feel taken care of, where the food and atmosphere linger in your memory long after you’ve left. Highly recommended for a special night in Granada.

I went there with my colleagues from a medical congress it was a wonderful experience, the views where lovely and so was the food. We tried lots of things and for me the highlight was the main dish, the cod fish in a beetroot risotto ( simply amazing) another highlight was the excellent service the waiter was super helpful and nice. I recommend to order the tiramisu dessert as they prepare it in front of you it's a fun experience and it tastes great.

Disclaimer: We were in a group tour where our meals were preordered, and it may not reflect the same dishes from their regular menu. This was a “treat” being able to dine with the magnificent view of the Alhambra, enjoying great dishes. As you can see from the photos that we had a great view even adorned with rainbow at one point. The night view was even more spectacular when the Alhambra lit up. We had a romantic dinner here where we were seared on the terrace w a great view of the Alhambra - really unbeatable! We had good service, although it was confusing who was waiting on us w several different staff helping. We really enjoyed our carpaccio app and the wine we ordered. For our entrees, husband’s steak was tough and my pork was fairly dry w no sauce. We got dessert which was ok. The bonus was that we were offered complementary Limoncello and the staff was very helpful when we needed to walk to a spot to get an uber back to our hotel. Outstanding place for the atmosphere & views!

The menu features dishes crafted from local produce, such as mango and avocado from Granada's valleys, all with a modern twist on Andalusian cuisine.
Absolutely beautiful palace, former monastery, very well refurbished, hosting an elegant hotel with its bar and restaurant. We had a delicious launch - the daily menu and all a-la-carte dishes that we ordered were fabulous; service was great, and the place was marvelous. A must go when in Granada.

This is a review of the breakfast. If you get breakfast included in your room through Marriott loyalty then this breakfast is great. If you need to pay 35 Euros for breakfast then you may be better off with options outside the hotel. The restaurant is great, it has an inside and outside area to sit. It's in the convent area of the hotel. The breakfast buffet has multiple options for breads, and some pastries, fruit and cold cuts. And in addition you can order anything from the menu which has a lot of good options. Service is good and fast.

It was matched with a weird combination of wines - amazing one, good ones and terrible, but very good sommelier. Plus for a hot gluten free bun! We were extremely happy about the breakfast though, it was absolutely delicious!

Tried dinner here while staying at the associated hotel. Quite small menu and passable wine list done very well, composed entirely of Spanish wines. Service was attentive but not overbearing, and the food was simple but well executed. Combined with the elegant courtyard setting, it is well worth trying dinner here. Was not too busy on a weeknight.

Honestly despite being given a free meal after our first complaint of being ripped off with being charged for bread and appertif we went back for the promise of they would make it up to us which you would have thought would be good. On arrival there was no attempt to acknowledge us waiting by one of the staff who was a waitress counting money in the cash register. We stood there for about 6 or 7 minutes she glanced up and continued counting like some sort of scrooge at christmas. We decided to the seat ourselves. Well the reality the chef cannot or is not qualified fully the food is simply basic poor food dressed up on a plate made to look pretty and something it is not . The caviar was poor and had stale chou. The steak I had was nothing near medium to well done and the sauce was tasteless but had hints of what I think was goats cheese it was honestly disgusting I forced it down as I did not want to complain in front of my wife again and it was her birthday but she was having the same issue her sea bass was stone cold just like the bread that clearly is kept in the fridge before serving not even an attempt at re heating properly. Desert a disaster one dish ok the chocolate but that was it. What was amusing is the general manger attempt to interact and almost come across as a complaint that on them I had ordered a 90 euro bottle of champagne and caviar ,too right I wish I had ordered more expensive items considering them wasting our time with slop dressed up on a plate how stupid do they think people are. We have been given also Free concert tickets but will not bother going considering all the other complaints that clearly are ignored as they are repeating the same issues year on year . Honestly we would steer clear for the money they try and get you for this in our opinion is a reasonable 3 star at best.

Gastro bar La Goma is a cozy spot located in the city center of Granada, offering a delightful wine menu and a variety of vegetarian and vegan options. Despite its small size, it boasts quality dishes that are freshly prepared with many organic products. The menu changes daily, featuring four carefully crafted dishes to choose from. The atmosphere is friendly and unassuming, making it a great place to enjoy lunch or dinner.
A nice discovery in Granada, nice and cozy vegan food. They will give you tapas with every drink you order, as per an old Spanish tradition. Would wish that the service would be nicer since the staff can have a very closed face.
Tânia S — Google review
We went here for lunch, and overall it is a very nice spot. It's centrally located, and is very trendy with the décor and the artwork displayed. It has mid-range prices and the portions are on the smaller-side, but it's certainly not overpriced. The food was nice, but the chocolate cake in particular was delicious and gets a 10/10. It's quite a warm restaurant, so I would also be cautious of going in the height of summer (no aircon, and closed door policy). Otherwise, I recommend it and would definitely go back.
Kishudson — Google review
My sense having eaten there for lunch, was that this place was more than just the vegan food. It was the ambiance and the casual feel of the place. In the evening with music, even more so. The food changes quite frequently and is based around culinary themes. This time for us it was Mexican. We had a complementary Hummus Tapa initially, followed by the Quesadillas de Championones, Tacos al Pastor, and the Tarta de Chocolate y Arándanos. All tasted lovely. All for 17 euros too. The service was excellent (English too). Nice enough house wine at 2.80 euros a glass.

At the very opening of the afternoon shift of the venue, we were welcomed as politely as we could be. Good music, good fibes, SUPER TASTY TAPAS that came complimentary with our drinks. We came here by accident, and stayed for 1 more drink on purpose. Highly recommended.

I stumbled upon this restaurant by chance, and I was pleasantly surprised by the lovely environment. As soon as I walked in, I felt relaxed and comfortable. The food was even more impressive, especially the dishes made by Sakura—they are simply fantastic! Each dish is crafted with great care, using fresh ingredients and perfectly balanced seasoning. Eating her food feels like a delightful adventure for the taste buds, always bringing unexpected surprises. What makes the experience even better is Sakura herself; she is incredibly friendly, and her service is outstanding. Every time, I’m greeted by her warm smile, and she patiently introduces each dish. She takes the time to ask about my preferences and recommends the best options, which makes me feel truly cared for. Dining here isn’t just about filling up; it’s a joyful culinary experience. After every meal, I feel like the money spent was well worth it, and I can't wait to come back to try her new creations! I absolutely recommend this place to anyone who loves good food!

Super friendly, low-key bar and delicious, non-pretentious vegan food. I had two dishes - classic cous cous and an interesting sweet potato pie with spinach that was wonderful. I took an order of cous cous away for my train ride to Barcelona… it was that good. Good place to hangout for lunch or dinner. I’m not a vegan but need to change things up every so often.

This is hands down the best dinner that I’ve ever had - the tapas are sensational. The food is so flavorful and fairly priced. The atmosphere is excellent — a very cozy, fun, and laid back place to spend an evening. The staff is very kind and warm. Words and pictures don’t do La Goma justice.

Casa Juanillo is a family-run restaurant nestled in the heart of Sacromonte, offering homemade dishes with a touch of elegance. The establishment provides a stunning panoramic view of the Alhambra, especially enchanting when illuminated at night. Alongside other renowned bars in Granada, Casa Juanillo stands out for its blend of traditional and modern culinary offerings. Visitors praise the exceptional service and delightful food, highlighting the generous house salad and flavorful meat dish.
We went here in search of traditional food and we were not disappointed! Good service, good food and great view of the Alhambra. We had the sacromonte omlette and the fried aubergine as starters and we could have stopped with that, considering the size of the food. As main course, we had the marinated dogfish(shark) and moorish skwers, which were amazingly flavoured.
Roxana G — Google review
We went there on 23 November. We didn't get any tapas with our 2 beers (although there was info on the blackboard we would get it) - the waiter said they served free tapas until 2 PM. Weird, considering other restaurants serve tapas without even asking or giving conditions. We ordered some meat - it was raw, gummy, inedible. Awful. The toilet was super tiny and there were no paper towels nor soap. Avoid it.
Sesylwia — Google review
Oh my goodness. So good. I highly recommend the carne en salsa. It was a *SALVATION* in a cold, wet evening, where I just came to hide from the rain. The gravy in which the meat is cooked is delectable. For those concerned, I have clarified that the carne is pork, not beef. Also ordered the House Salad. Basic, but loved the tardness that the oranges brought to the dish. You may have to wait a little longer on a busy day as there is only one server, but trust me when I say that she is trying her absolute best. I would give her a pat on her back if I spoke enough Spanish. She does things really speedily - no frills and no fuss - but there's only so much one person can do. Also, beautiful place. Nice view of Alhambra is a cool bonus. Note: I only ordered two dishes because we don't have a huge appetite. Spanish dishes are scarily large for my Asian stomach. So the price may not be reflective of actual expense - I spent 29€ for a family of 3.

Amazing from start to finish! We came in after walking to and from the Abbey and what a treat. Exceptional service, our waiter was so nice, helpful and fun. The food...exquisite! We ordered the house salad which was huge along with the meat in sauce (we gobbled it down before I could even take a picture). Delicious and served piping hot. Top it off with the quaint atmosphere, reasonable prices, and the amazing views of the Alhambra - probably the best meal in Granada so far - be sure to check out this gem 💎

During my recent travels, I stumbled upon a charming little gem known as Andalucia Delicatessen. This delightful shop is a treasure trove of local Andalusian products, offering an impressive selection of award-winning olive oils, artisanal cheeses, and decadent chocolates. While jamon often steals the spotlight as Spain's iconic food, olive oil holds its own as a close second—especially considering that Spain is the world's leading producer of this liquid gold.
Amazing small but gourmet store!!! Alfredo was very knowledgeable and kind to explain where his products came from. Very passionate about the local Andalucian products, and selects the farmers and growers very carefully!! You can tastes some of his best olive oils and the very best Jamons from Spain!!! They offered us tastings of various products and in the end we not only took the sausages, we took pâtés, oils, craft beers, local sweets,.... They have a great quality-price ratio and the staff's treatment is exquisite. When we returned to Cantabria, some friends came to our house for dinner and we had a snack with several of the products we bought there. They were so delighted that in December they placed an online order at the store for Christmas dinners and so did we. Restaurante Mirador de Morayma offers a unique dining experience with its stunning views of the Alhambra from the terrace. Located on the hill of the Albaicin, this restaurant is housed in a traditional Carmen with terraced gardens and orchards, creating a peaceful oasis in the midst of Albaicin. The decor reflects Andalusian farmhouses, featuring antique portraits and rustic touches.
On a trip visiting cities throughout Spain, this spot was a uniquely wonderful highlight. Situated on the hillside in Granada, this restaurant boasts a terrace dripping with wisteria that has a stunning view of the Alhambra on the hillside opposite. The whitewashed walls of the restaurant are offset by blue tiles and plants that create an oasis. The food is spectacular, Andalusian cuisine is elevated and made delicious with warming spices and fresh flavors- for even those new to more unique fish dishes. Try the cod with apple - it is not sweet but rather hearty and rich. The omelette with cod and shrimp was another favorite of ours. Finish with the warm chocolate cake for a sumptuous experience from beginning to end. I’m shocked this place wasn’t packed, it deserves to be. As someone who typically finds something to be critical about in most restaurants, I cannot emphasize how perfect my meal was.

Was just passing by and popped my head in. What an oasis a beautiful outdoor restaurant on three levels full of plants and ornate tiling. The views were amazing of the Alhambra. The food was so fresh and had a lovely twist to quite simple ingredients. I had the bread olives and blue cheese mouse with seasonal giant tomatoes covered in olive oil black salt garlic and parsley. Just perfect for a very hot and humid september day after walking around albaicin neighbourhood. I am a solo traveller and this was perfect to get away from the busy downtown area. Highly recommend this gorgeous place
