Nestled in the vibrant Five Points area, The Gourmet Shop is a delightful upscale grocery that offers an exceptional dining experience alongside its specialty food market. Start your day with indulgent treats like bacon and brie croissants or fluffy Belgian waffles drenched in butter, all while sipping on refreshing mimosas. This beloved brunch destination not only serves mouthwatering prepared foods but also features a variety of gourmet items for sale.
I enjoy stopping at the Gourmet Shop whenever I'm in Columbia, SC! Such a neat place for lunch, a little shopping of unique items, cheeses, and a great selection of wines. This particular time I tried the Turkey Pesto sandwich with the pesto pasta side and a glass of unsweetened iced tea. As always, everything was delicious. I did give the service a 3-star rating due to having to wait roughly 15 minutes before anyone even asked if I was being served. After that though, the waiter that did wait on the table was fantastic and very pleasant. This will continue to be a regular stop when I'm traveling to SC. I highly recommend checking it out.

This place has it all! With a large and eclectic selection of wines, cheese, and everything delicious. Atmosphere is bright and inviting. Prices are more than reasonable and service was beyond accommodating. I just bought some wine and cheese from the shop side but I plan on trying the cafe next time. Thank you for making a new comer’s day. I will be returning often!
Kathryn J — Google review
i recently planned a girls trip to asheville and found the gourmet shop as a mid stopping point for lunch. it’s located in a cute little shopping area and takes up quite a bit of space in the building. there are 3 parts to it, the wine section, the food spices cheeses desserts and bulk items, as well as food related items for the kitchen, and the dining area which included outdoor seating. i got the bacon brie croissant that had a special jam on it and it was out of this world!! you’re allowed one side and i went with the german potato salad, which was great to my tasting as i loved the flavors. my girlfriend got a panini with tomato soup as her side. she said hers was fantastic. we also got a few desserts and they were divine as well. i highly recommend this place, it’s a little off the highway but well worth the drive! we will definitely be back to try more things!
Alicia O — Google review
The sandwich was pretty good you get a side I personally don't like cold pasta if you do you love the sides. My personal preference. The sandwich was pretty good but felt the sauce wasn't fully distributed but that's nit picky.
Dan J — Google review
We've noticed a marked decline in food quality in the last year: croissants heated to the point of being rock hard, stale bread in the baskets that accompany the cheese boards, stale, rock hard pitas with the hummus, and smaller portions on the boards. It seems like they are trying to cut costs, which doesn't make sense because they are always very busy. Our most recent bread basket came with mostly the end pieces of stale bread, including one that looked like it had a bite taken out of it!! The service and atmosphere keep us coming back, but they need to be more attentive about the food they are putting out these days.
C J — Google review
The Gourmet Shop was alright. The store itself is really nice and has a wide selection of nice things, the food was descent but certainly not anything I would wait a long wait for again. It seems more hype than it was substance which was unfortunate. But I will note that people raved about the chicken salad but we did not order that.
Justin ( — Google review
I got a cappuccino and it was very good. I also got a salmon bagel sandwich and it also was awesome. My girlfriend however got a sandwich that she did not really like and her pasta salad wasn’t that good either. The tomato bisque was very good. The service was excellent, the food came out quick, and the shop has all sorts of good stuff I even bought my mom a couple things. Lots of great wine too if you’re into that. Definitely a place I will go to again.
Carlo P — Google review
The food was excellent but I wish we didn’t get the charcuterie. It seemed like their other dishes were more popular. We got cheesecake to go and ate it at home and oh my goodness!! The Oreo cheesecake was delicious!!

Rosewood Market is a delightful destination for food lovers, offering an impressive selection of locally sourced produce, organic items, and wholesome snacks. If you're in the mood for something fresh, their food bar features a variety of toppings perfect for creating your own grain bowl or salad. The market also boasts a casual dining area where you can indulge in Texas-style barbecue until late at night.
Great local market with an amazing variety of supplements and health foods. Great place for a healthy prepared meal also. Great for allergy alternatives too!
Jimmy S — Google review
Enjoyed our visit to the market. The store is clean and the isles were properly marked for our shopping convenience. We were looking for medical honey for wound care. Zach, with the store, was very helpful, but unfortunately the store didn't have the product we were looking for. Oh, the market also sells lunch. The market smelled delicious. We plan to return to the market for lunch in the near future.

What a wonderful store. Very thoughtful; the store you want in your neighborhood. I stopped here because I didn’t want to get junk on a road trip. Worth the detour. Car pick Nick!

If you’re near Rosewood Market, do yourself a favor and check out Wild Wonder — a sparkling drink featured on Shark Tank! It’s hands down the best sparkling water I’ve ever tried. Refreshing, flavorful, and full of personality. They’ve got six delicious flavors to choose from: 🍓 Strawberry Passion 🍍 Pineapple Paradise 💗 Raspberry Lychee 🌹 Guava Rose 🥭 Mango Gold 🍑 Peach Ginger Give it a try and let me know your favorite!

My favorite grocery store in town! They have the best customer service and the deli is also amazing! I love getting a fresh salmon salad with the dill vinaigrette. Definitely recommend.
Leslie — Google review
My favorite store, always easy to get in and out. I love the Kanzi apples, the chocolate and the coffee the most.
Leia R — Google review
The deli has changed. I arrived after 2:15 pm and a fly was circling the hot bar, landed on some vegetables and the serving spatula for the salmon. Most of the cooked vegetables were already packed up but left uncovered. The salmon was uncovered too. This is the 3rd time that I have seen this fly problem between 2:00-3:00 pm when they are packing up and cleaning up near closing. It’s past time to get clear lids for ALL food on the hot bar & salad bar. Flies are very unsanitary. They’re always on dog poop, etc. They lost a sale today due to the fly landing on the salmon, the spatula for the salmon, and several vegetables. Staff was sweeping and unaware of the fly.
Pearl W — Google review
My mom and I were really looking forward to trying the hot food bar at Rosewood Market. But as soon as we walked up, we noticed a fly flying around then landing right on the salmon. We let the worker behind the counter know, thinking she’d take it seriously. Instead, she walked over, shooed it away. Then soon after, hit us with the neck rolling and lip popping. Her whole attitude was unprofessional and dismissive, like this happens all the time and we were the problem for pointing it out. Between the fly on the food and the attitude we got in return, it totally ruined the experience. Will not be returning!

Zoës Kitchen offers a delightful dining experience with its flavorful dishes and inviting atmosphere. The menu features options like chicken on a bed of greens, pasta salad with veggies and feta, all brought together by the zesty Zoës dressing. For an extra kick, patrons can add the Spice of Life seasoning for a stronger Mediterranean flavor. The outdoor eating area provides a lovely view, while the staff is known for their fast and helpful service.
The chicken kabobs and turmeric rice are delicious... get that when you go! And the outside eating area has a large covered patio with a lovely view!

Great food but the prices are high. I had the grilled chicken pita with a Greek salad as my side.
Shaquania B — Google review
I love this place! The atmosphere is really cool and the food is wonderful. All my encounters with the staff have great. They get really busy during lunch rush, but I usually order online then walk in the side entrance and skip the line. Definitely try it out if you're in the area.
Alan S — Google review
Great healthy spot in the middle of Columbia. Very fast and helpful, never had a rude employee.
Christian A — Google review
My experience here was less than stellar. It took over 20 minutes to get a salad and hummus, and everyone who ordered after me was served before me. Even the people who ordered before me waited 15+ minutes, and it wasn't overly busy. While I was waiting, I felt embarrassed for the servers who were reprimanded loudly for offering two sides with a particular dish instead of just one. Yes, they probably needed to be coached, but either out of the eye of customers or more quietly so as to not look like a stern reprimand. The food was okay. It was fresh and tasted fine, but not impressive. If you're going to eat here, order online and wait 15 minutes before leaving your office if you don't want to stand around watching them make everyone else's food.
Stacy S — Google review
Ingredients are definitely fresh and atmosphere is good but the food was surprisingly flavorless. The wife and I had a salad, humus and a pita and none of them were very good. Overall thought it was overpriced for what you get.
Justin P — Google review
My coworkers and I ordered take out at this location today. All of our orders were wrong, I had hair in my salad, and the manager told us she was too busy to listen to our concerns. Would never eat at this location again. We have done large carry out lunch orders at the Lexington location and never had this problem

Ordered lunch for a baby shower, and the food was great! Veggie kabob was tasty and very filling. Manager (Lawson) does an excellent job in running this location. Always great service!

Bar & grill
American restaurant
Brewpub
Liberty Tap Room & Grill is a local chain that offers a relaxed and stylish setting to enjoy steak, American fare, and microbrews. The restaurant in Columbia goes beyond the typical bar experience by serving succulent burgers, comfort food classics like chicken and waffles, and house-made specialties such as Liberty Fries topped with cheese and bacon. They also feature innovative interpretations of pub fare like Hawaiian Chicken with teriyaki glaze and pineapple salsa.
I was impressed with the food overall, only a couple of very minor suggestions. My wife had the smothered chicken and I had the fish and chips. Fish was crispy on the outside and flaky on the inside, not too greasy like some fried fish I've had in the past. The cole slaw was a bit dry in my opinion but that's just me, I like a creamy cole slaw. Their special chicken Nachos were a great appetizer as well as their loaded fries. Nachos were a very large serving. Both smothered chicken and the fish and chips were very generous portions. Had to take about half home. Overall, it was a great spot for lunch or dinner.
Stephen S — Google review
The atmosphere is great. The restaurant will be going through renovation soon. Menu was limited but the steak and green beans were delicious. The restaurant was clean and the servers were amazing.
Bridget B — Google review
This place was great for our large boisterous group in the middle of the week. Our server was top notch and I couldn’t recommend the shrimp and grits more. Just could have done without the massive silent tv showing some show that flickered and kept making me feel like I was having a seizure.
Jessica R — Google review
We were in town for a family member's Basic Training graduation so we wanted to take her somewhere with good food after having 10 weeks of "eh" food on base. Lol. So glad we chose this place! Great service from the hostess and our waitress! We ALL loved the Taproom Chicken Nachos and the Baked Pretzels! I loved my Coconut Shrimp, my son loved his Freedom Burger (it has a fried egg on it!), and his girlfriend loved her Bleu Burger (it has bleu cheese crumbles and bleu cheese sauce on it!). The only disappointment was the awful Calamari my daughter ordered. It was VERY dry, hard as a rock, and had basically no taste....like cardboard. I can't believe it was even served to be honest. They felt like dry, stiff pieces of cardboard just picking each piece up. Maybe just an off night with it I'm thinking since all the other food was 10/10. Idk. I did let the waitress know though and informed her we didn't want any $ off the bill. But just letting anyone that reads this know to beware of it. All in all, we were happy with everything else though. We will definitely be back!
Michelle W — Google review
One of the best all around restaurants with bar we have ever ate at. One of the best Meatloaves that anyone could ever ask for. Not one thing on our table wasn't superb!! Will return to eat again. Anyone looking for a variety if food for their visit will not be disappointed!! Clean environment, polite waiters very knowledgeable about the menu and recommended the meatloaf. Very good choice!! Check them out and decide for yourself!
Kay P — Google review
Dining side and Bar side. When it's not busy they seat everyone on the bar side. It's was fine for us but if you want a quieter dining experience this would not be it. The service was okay. Acknowledgment of a refill or something missing needed to be made. Food quality was fair. Steak was stringy and fatty. Baked potato came naked. Salad wedge was okay but the bacon pieces were hard or burnt. Sweet tea was way too sweet and needed to be halved with unsweet to make it drinkable. The restrooms were not very clean but handicap tightly accessible. The parking was good but would fill up quickly if busy.
S G — Google review
The restaurant is in a great location. The food was good, but not great. The service was good, but not great. The appetizer of tater tots was good. I had the ribeye. It was cooked properly, but was missing something. The food also showed up a little on the cold side. The beer I ordered which was from a local brewery was good, but a little on the warm side. I will try this location again and hope the last experience was just a one off.
Theodore L — Google review
We walked in and were seated in less than 5 minutes. Our server was a little slow but our food was delicious. The wings with honey Sriracha sauce was finger licking good. Then we had the salmon with a honey bourbon glaze, green beans, collard greens and rice. The sauce on that salmon was the star of the plate. I could have poured that sauce over EVERYTHING and drank it from a glass. Because our server was slow, our entrées came out almost Luke warm at best. It didn't take away from the flavor so we just chose to eat it.

Deli
Brunch restaurant
Ham shop
DiPrato's is a delightful blend of Italian deli and Southern cuisine, offering an airy cafe setting where you can enjoy a variety of brunch items such as banana pecan and chocolate chip pancakes, breakfast paninis, and homemade pastries. Their Eggs Charleston, a southern twist on eggs benedict with crab cakes and Adluh grits, is a must-try. The gourmet sandwich shop also serves up signature sandwiches like the triple-decker reuben and oyster po' boy.
I chose Diprato’ as my first restaurant to eat at in Columbia and I am glad I did. Although it was crowded, there was no wait on a Sunday afternoon at 1 PM. We had the tuna and chicken salad sampler with balsamic dressing and were very pleased. It looked like they had a lot of wonderful brunch foods on their menu and I hope to return if I am in Columbia again.
Chanda M — Google review
We visited on a Saturday around 1pm. Regular and Brunch menu were available. We had the Eggs Benedict, Corned Beef Hash, Meatball Sub, and Kid’s Grilled Cheese and a cup of tomato soup. The server was very kind and brought my daughter a slice of cake for her birthday. The food was good! While there were deli selections available, my NY Italian chef husband was a little bummed that it didn’t really seem like a deli that he would expect. 😂 For the size of the restaurant, owners may want to consider more restrooms if you expand in the future. Also, the tabletops are a little on the small side and very close together. Our plates were partially hanging off the table. Overall, a great spot for brunch!
Beth S — Google review
Stopped in for lunch while visiting the Columbia area. Great food, service and prices. I added turkey to my Vegetable Garden Sandwich, it was HUGE!! I didn't even really need the turkey, but it was delicious. The pasta salad was 100% the best pasta salad I have ever had. I will be back next time I am in South Carolina.
Sara R — Google review
A delightful corner market full of flavorful dishes and a unique menu. We tried a few of their menu items including fresh deli and desserts and they do not disappoint. Their homemade pita chips are always a favorite. The kids chicken fingers were a little disappointing and overdone but otherwise no complaints.
Chelsea F — Google review
We stopped in about an hour before closing time. The people there were very nice. I was intrigued when I saw a sharp white pimento cheese sandwich on the menu, and the waitress said I could get some with pita chips, even though that wasn't listed on the menu. It did not disappoint - I could taste the pimento and the pita chips were quite tasty as well. I ordered the caprese panini, which was served with a pesto mayonnaise on the side. It was delicious! The tomatoes were very fresh and tasty. My daughter ordered the meatball sub and the meatballs were huge! We were in a bit of a hurry, but we'll definitely go back again when we have more time. There are many Italian options on the menu that I'd like to try.
Nancy N — Google review
Plenty of great sandwiches to choose from. Kervens was our server. He was very friendly and made several suggestions that were spot on. Lunch was great and we got some deserts to go that were also fantastic. Thank you.
Ryan M — Google review
This isn’t the first time I’ve received a sandwich with only a little cheese in the center. Half of the sandwich couldn’t be eaten due to it being only bread. For the price this costs, the cheese should be the proper amount.

Came here with my family for my sister's birthday. I will say that if you can find street parking, please do it. The nearest paid parking lot was a rip off. lol. Our waitress was amazing. She provided amazing service and we appreciated that. The food was decent but the prices weren't fitting. If the prices weren't up there and the food was more flavorful, I would've given it a higher rating. Kinda borderline over rated because we've had way better food at Red Lobster but whatever. My sister enjoyed her food, and we were given great service so that's what matters to me. If you decide to try them out,
Maurice M — Google review
Stopped in while in town on a work trip. The oysters were great and they provided great fixings for them with crackers. Cocktail sauce with extra fresh horseradish to the hot sauces and mignonette sauce. I had also ordered some corn fritters those were just ok. But I definitely recommend the oysters. This place was a nice short walk from my hotel that was on Lady St.

My waiter was absolutely incredible, and as you can see, the food put a big smile on my face. It was my first time at Pearls... and my first time trying oysters, too!

Great oysters!! They provide a list of where the oysters are from and the size. Also a must try is the New England chowder. We went for dinner at 6:30 with reservations and was seated immediately. Very pleasant environment.

Horrible experience. Waitress not trained, manager not present most of night. Homeless person stayed in restroom 30 so minutes, took bird bath in restroom …. manager said they need some place to go, it’s cold out ( 65 degrees ) so we let them use the facilities. I agree with helping and being compassionate but there is a shelter nearby. To spend $230 on dinner and to worry about safety and cleanliness while using restroom was not ideal. I asked my 80 year old mom to hold it until we drove home. Very sorry about number of homeless people but I didn’t think that would be a concern while dining at Pearls. We won’t be back. Very unfortunate the manager cared more about the non paying guests. This kind of mismanagement hurts a good business. This was at 8:00 pm during dinner not odd hours. Still can’t believe that manager cared less about paying customer. Save your money and go where you are appreciated, where managers are present and trained. Tried to leave private message for restaurant hospitality group but they don’t share their address or emails so no choice but to share experience here.
Caroline P — Google review
We stopped by for a light bite and to take advantage of the amazing happy hour specials. The trigger fish bites and egg rolls that we tried were both outstanding. Our bartender was fantastic and provided top notch customer service. This spot is a must visit in Columbia!
Andrew H — Google review
Our waitress was extraordinary! I left her a good tip! But that food is unseasoned and horrible , and the servings aren’t worth the price! The restaurant was a great atmosphere to be in, with wonderful waitresses, but again that food is NOT the main attraction and i was very disappointed

Bourbon is a historic whiskey bar and Cajun-Creole eatery located in the Brennen Building in Columbia. The ambiance exudes an upscale saloon feel with exposed brick walls, repurposed wood, and gaslight-inspired chandeliers. It boasts South Carolina's most extensive whiskey collection, including Kentucky bourbons, Irish whiskeys, and Japanese scotches. The restaurant offers a curated selection of bourbons and a menu centered on Cajun and Creole cuisine.
Great Bourbon/Whiskey Bar in the city with a very diverse menu. The food was upscale New Orleans/Southern inspired. The team in the kitchen are at the top of their game. Bar staff backs it up with super dope cocktails. A must try when you’re in the city.

Great restaurant and bar! Got dinner at the restaurant section and then went to the lounge for drinks. Gumbo was the best I've had outside of New Orleans, and my friends really enjoyed their burgers as well. Server was very kind and the hickory made the inside smell wonderful.
Tyler W — Google review
We enjoyed the ambiance, service, and food. However, the shrimp and grits were extremely spicy. Overall the drinks were stellar. We enjoyed sitting outside at the tables after our meal. I would recommend this restaurant.

Wonderful drinks, food was absolutely delicious. I had the pimento cheese appetizer and shrimp and grits my friend had the special. Amazing all Around. The decor was aligned with the bourbon name and was dark and earthy.

Bourbon in Columbia is an absolute gem. From the moment you step inside, the atmosphere sets the tone as it’s warm, stylish, and full of Southern charm with a modern edge. The bourbon selection is one of the best I’ve seen, with everything from local favorites to rare pours, making it a true paradise for whiskey lovers. Every dish feels thoughtfully crafted, blending rich flavors with a Southern flair. The inclusivity on the menu for vegetarian and gluten-free options, ensures everyone at the table can enjoy a great meal without feeling limited. The steak frites are a standout, and the small plates like beignets are perfect for sharing alongside a cocktail. I ordered blue skies, yaya hurricane and heart of Darkness. The service is professional yet welcoming, striking that balance of upscale dining with a relaxed, inviting vibe. Whether you’re stopping in for a drink at the bar, a date night, or dinner with friends, Bourbon delivers a five-star experience every time. It’s easily one of the best spots in Columbia.

Here’s a NED-style review for Bourbon: --- ✅ What Works Well - Southern-inspired cuisine with elevated comfort food—think shrimp & grits, fried chicken, and rich sides. - Strong bourbon selection with expertly crafted cocktails. - Stylish yet cozy atmosphere, great for date nights or gatherings. - Attentive service with knowledgeable staff, especially around the drink menu. - Brunch and dinner menus both stand out. --- 👎 What to Watch Out For - Prices are on the higher side, especially for drinks. - Can get loud during peak hours. - Limited vegetarian options. - Wait times without a reservation can be long. --- 🎯 Verdict Bourbon blends soulful Southern cooking with a refined vibe and deep whiskey menu—perfect for those who enjoy bold flavors and a great cocktail. I have to say, coming from California the drink selection was amazing, however that only gives this establishment 2 stars and beyond those drinks, absolute complete total failure. I miss the interactions of compitent individuals that was unfortunately missing here in South Carolina. Sitting at the bar, my server came up to me once, beyond that I did not exist in her eyes. I needed to get the manager involved in order to get another drink. Why the hell was this person hired in the 1st place? Honestly, she never once made an attempt to ask me what my thoughts where on my 1st drink, nor acknowledge i was even present. That in itself is sickening. Do NOT recommend this establishment. Next door is a roof top bar that is extremely more welcoming and enjoyable. Please spend you money there. Absolutely poor service.

If you are looking to get a taste of Louisiana, I do not recommend eating any of the Cajun or creole inspired dishes. As someone who lived in Louisiana for college, the dishes do not live up to what they claim to be. Stick with the cheese board or pimiento cheese. That said I went there tonight for happy hour and was extremely disappointed by the fact that we found a roach on our table, killed it ourselves told the server and she seemed completely unbothered like it was a normal occurrence. Will not be back anytime soon, though I hate to say that because it is a really cool spot

Barbecue restaurant
Midwood Smokehouse is a renowned barbecue restaurant with locations across the country, offering a variety of regional BBQ specialties such as pulled pork, ribs, and Texas-style barbecue. The roadhouse-like setting adds to the dining experience. Known for its fresh and flavorful offerings, including a choice of mustard, vinegar or spicy habanero sauce, Midwood Smokehouse also serves up delectable sides like barbecue baked beans. The restaurant prides itself on its top-notch customer service and generous portions.
5/3/2025, From Duluth, Georgia, I would like to shout out Ms. Sara B. our server that Saturday. She was extremely polite and knew the menu inside and out. Great service, great conversation and she was very professional. I ordered the half rack of ribs (dry) with potato salad and mac-n-cheese. My buddy ordered pulled chicken with mac-n-cheese and potato salad. Both meals came with an order of hush puppies. Not pictured is the pecan cobbler that was ordered afterward. My ribs were so tender they were falling off the bone when pulling them apart. Since it was cloudy and breezy we sat outside on the patio which was covered. This establishment has a great environment, they offer a military discount and it's very family-friendly.

Midwood Smokehouse was pretty good. Now, let me preface by saying that I do not eat BBQ, but accompanied a friend who's a big BBQ fan. We sat at the bar, which was alright. I was kind of disappointed in their selection of drinks, as they didn't have any seltzers, and lacked a good array of cocktails. I got the chicken tenders and fries, which I must say were pretty good. Both the tenders and fries were crispy and of higher-quality than most other tenders and fries I've gotten. I wasn't really able to get my friend's opinion on his food, but I'm assuming it was pretty good, seeing as he gobbled it up in about five (5) minutes. Lol. Overall, Midwood was pretty good, and I'll give it a respectable 4 stars. I don't know if I'll be back, but that's largely because I don't eat BBQ, and not really anything that they did.

From the hostess, to the waitress Cheney and Frank stopping by to ask how everything was…well we couldn’t ask for anything more superb! Midwood is a dining experience extraordinaire! Thank you and to the cook for the best tasting food I’ve had in a long time. A surprisingly tasty salmon. To God be the glory and we will continue supporting this fine establishment!! 😋👒

Great bbq, great atmosphere and great service. First time visiting this spot and I would come back again. I tried: Ribs 10/10 Burnt ends 9/10 Brisket 8/10 Pulled pork 9/10 Mac n cheese 9/10 Coleslaw 7/10 Coming from Texas I'm used to great bbq, I heard this was a good spot and wanted to try the Carolina style. As mentioned everything was great and I'm glad I stopped in for dinner. 100% would recommend. You also get large portions for the price.

I love BBQ and was excited to try out this little BBQ restaurant for lunch. We arrived at 1:00 on a Tuesday and were seated right away. The waitress was helpful and got our order in right away. We were in and out within an hour. So, this is a great place for lunch. I tried the pulled pork and hash and rice. The meal also comes with pickles and hush puppies. I like the consistency of the pulled pork. It wasn’t too stringy and didn’t have fatty pieces. The hash and rice was also just right. They also have a variety of sauces including vinegar based, ketchup based and mustard based. I just didn’t love the sauces, but I think I am bit choosy about sauces. My dad had the same meal and enjoyed it. My son enjoyed the burnt ends. I had a taste and would give them a 4/5. I had them in Kansas City and those were the best. I gave a 4/5 for service because my dad’s tea ran out and I had to go get a refill. The hash is a bit spicy, so you need that drink. 😁 I am looking forward to trying some other menu items in the future. I think $12 for a plate was terrific!

First time trying this bbq spot. Atmosphere was ok, maybe a bit loud to clearly hear people at the table or server. Service was good, everything came out quickly. The food was fine, but nothing special. The meat on its own had very little flavor without adding one of the sauces they brought to the table. The cocktail I ordered was pretty bad, didn't even finish half of it. The broccoli casserole side was good and the prices are very reasonable for positives.

Goodness Gracious!!! The food at this place was really good. I was skeptical of the macaroni because they had these huge shells. But it proved me wrong. The Mac was creamy with a bit of a cheese crust on the top. For a restaurant, the collards were good. But my favorite of all were tge baked beans. Honey let me tell you that the these baked beaks were swaggin!!! Delicious. Hush puppies were good too. My least favorite was the queso. Tasted like it came out of a jar. As for the meats, the pulled pork was great. Ribs were ok, and I wouldn't order the pulled chicken again. Not the restaurants fault with the chicken. I just prefered the pork, but if pork isn't an option due to diet restrictions, I think you should give the pulled chicken a try. Our waiter was Louis or Lewie. He was very nice. Enjoyed the food a lot.

First of all, they had an appetizer that was just a skillet of cornbread, so I was already sold! The cornbread was so fluffy and they give a nice helping of butter. For my entrée, I got the Queso Birriabecue. Their pork was very tender and flavorful. I've never had something like that before, so I was excited to try it. Our server was amazing and very helpful! Definitely stop in for some good bbq, if you're in the area!

Known for its creative stone-baked pizzas, Mellow Mushroom offers a variety of options including unique flavors like Jerk Chicken and Chicken Cordon Bleu, as well as customizable pies where you can choose your favorite toppings.
This place was great from the start as we walked in they were very welcoming we got our drinks almost immediately. The bathrooms are fairly clean it could be cleaner. It is taking us a little while to get our food.

Just recently stopped in to try some of their menu options. I had a Greek Salad, and Queso Dip for starters. The vegetables on the salad were very fresh and delicious. The Queso dip was cheesy and went very well with the crisp toasted bread, which I enjoyed. I chose to try their Mighty Meaty Pizza! The pie was cooked perfectly, all of the meats tasted great together, and the crust was soft and flavorful. The service at the bar was great!

We were in town at the comic con and decided to grab a bite to eat. I’ve never visited the Mellow Mushroom before so this was my first visit. We got to sit upstairs. The decor was amazing and very inviting. Colorful and eclectic artwork. The server was so sweet and helpful. We had several pizzas. I had the Pacific Rim and oh my it was so delicious! The ingredients fresh and the crust—superb! I highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for the best pizza.

Good food, service is good. It’s a mellow so you generally know what to expect. The way they cut my pizza the last time I got takeout was diabolical though. Like what is this

I’ve enjoyed Mellow Mushroom pizzas all over the country—but this location in Columbia, SC, was hands down the worst I’ve ever had. Truly horrendous. We’re in town for the week and thought we’d treat ourselves to our favorite pizza. Big mistake. We paid nearly $30 for a pizza that looked and tasted like it had been thrown together without care. The crust was bland and soggy, the toppings were sparse and uneven, and the whole thing looked like a disgrace to what Mellow Mushroom is supposed to be. We were genuinely looking forward to enjoying more meals here during our stay—but after this experience, we will definitely not be coming back. This was not just a letdown—it was offensive to pizza.

Went in with a large party. Got seated, but only after over half of our guests had shown up. Not too bad. The service was a bit dismal after that. Not sure if the gentleman had too many tables, but we had to ask for refills. The order was split in half, so they could get the orders in quicker. The side that got their food first was completely done eating before the other table even got their food. One of the pizzas didn't show up until everyone else was done eating. Once the manager was involved, things got a little better. The manager comped some off of all of the bills(that weren't separated properly). Wonderful food, except for that last pizza. Funny how the last pizza was so much spicerier than any other pizza. We have our suspicions...

The worst takeout experience I’ve ever had!! I called in my order, but when my husband arrived to pick it up, they had no record of it. He had to wait around for 20 minutes while they scrambled to find it. When I got home (less than 5 minutes later), the food was ice cold, missing chicken, and the portions were ridiculously small. We went back to return it, and things somehow got worse. We spoke to three different employees, including the manager, and none of them knew how to process a refund. They kept disappearing upstairs pretending to be busy, even though the restaurant was nearly empty. After another 20 minutes of standing around, the only person who actually helped us was a kind employee named Mo, who gave us a gift card since no one else could figure out what to do. Totally unacceptable service from start to finish.

Publico is not your average taco restaurant; it's a unique spot in Five Points that offers a fusion of flavors and ingredients. The menu features creative items like the Frosted Texas Toast, plantain peanut butter pancakes, and the Breakfast Burger. The restaurant is committed to serving fresh twists on classic Mexican and Latin American cuisine using locally sourced ingredients from humane farms. They also cater to vegans with options like Vegan Cuban Nachos and Agedashi Tofu Taco.
The young ladies we were greeted by are awesome! We sat outside and the young lady who sat us came out and checked on us and chatted for a while. Our server Cassie is the best! She gave my dog Gucci some ice water. Cassie is attentive, kind, and prompt. When it came to her describing Sunday Brunch and Thursday night Nashville Hot fried chicken, and even musical bingo, we were sold. Myself and my son, daughter in law, and two granddaughters were treated like they knew us for years. A very chill and laid back vibe! Super cool staff and amazing food! I will be a regular!

This place was suggested by my cousin (who is new in town but saw the reviews and really wanted to try it) we were there (SC) for our sons Basic Training graduation! We had 11 ppl, called for reservation, they said unless its over 20ppl, we didnt need one for 12noon on a wednesday.? We asked if it got super packed during Family Day/graduation? Said nope, that they normally stay closer to the base. I am telling you, its about 20-30min away from Ft.Jackson, take you family or new Soldier there for a treat!! It is a small establishment But the they were right, only like 2 or 3 ppl there when we arrived. The waiter, sweet guy with BRIGHT BLUE eyes, welcomed us, took all our orders. Now it is Mexican/Asian Fusion Food. My husband wanted to try the tacos--nice selection, but he wasnt sure what to get, so he asked the waiter to select HIS 5 favorite tacos for him to try!! Every one of them were great! My DIL ordered a Crab Salad Poki Bowl, another ordered birria tacos, korean hotchicken bao buns, and pork barbacoa bao buns!!! I tried a bite and omg! Whoever thought of this fusion...awesomeness! For appetizer we had chips trio (homemade chips with queso, Guacamole, and warm salsa) i had a Short rib bowl (had Latin rice (im particular about my rice, Puerto Rican, and THIS RICE..had all kinds of spice, top notch! And it was all topped with a fried egg! And I had a side of ripe plantains with some spicy sauce drizzled on top. Man oh man. Everything was so perfectly FUSED together...oh and that wasnt even my original order! I wanted the Chicken & Puffles!! But they were all out! Listen to this...thai marinated fried chicken thigh Hong Kong Uber inspired bubble waffle with chili oil drizzle, spicy maple syrup, and Jalapeño butter medallion topped with green onions and served with side of kimchi and plantains! Be still my heart!! If anyone gets this, please let me know if its as good as it sounds...Hopefully my cousin will call me as she is eating it so I can see it! The only part that was alittle sad was when my cousins husband realized that his birria tacos was (shredded pork) any other time they got birria it was shredded beef! It was on the menu bright as day--but was skimmed over by my cousin on accident. He can't eat pork (medical reason) he had already taken 1 bite and daughter told him she thinks its pork..and it was. Nothing bad happened, later probably, but I think it was that it was SO GOOD, and now he couldn't continue eating it! So he was sad!! Other then THAT..everyone LOVED their food, and you know what...I reheated mine in the hotel that night...and it was even better!!! Absurdly phenomenal! Thank you to the chef, and the bright blue eyed waiter who was so kind to all of us!!

It's been about 6 months since I have eaten at Publico, but I was walking around 5 Points yesterday and decided to stop in. Was I ever glad that I did!!! I was so excited to see my favorite bartender, Kelsey! I wasn't sure where she was working now that Boku has closed for a bit. What a wonderful surprise. Kelsey remembered off the bat that I don't drink, so she mixed me up a virgin Raspberry Paloma. It's the small things like that that make up great service. The special was a coconut curry tofu ramen, but I opted for the tried-and-true Publico burger. As always, it was just plain great. I've never had an issue at Publico (food- or service-wise), and now that y'all scored Kelsey behind the bar, I know exactly where to go when I am in 5 Points.

My co workers decided on this place for the first time, for our monthly get together. We chose several appetizer's, and a few drinks. The sticky ribs, were our favorite. Several of the other items didn't meet our expectations. The Nacho Fries didn't have any queso, and the Crab Ragoon was cold. Our waitress was exceptional, and met all of our needs! The atmosphere was awesome for a Thursday, especially with the music bingo!

This spot has quickly become a favorite for takeout, thanks to its delicious offerings that are easy to order online.
We had a wonderful lunch at Taziki’s! I ordered the grilled veggie pita with cucumber and tomato salad, along with chips on the side. The veggies in the pita were perfectly cooked and seasoned. My husband had the grilled chicken breast platter, which came with roasted potatoes and a salad. Everything was great. The service was excellent, definitely a 5/5, and the staff was quick. The vibe of the restaurant was great—relaxed and inviting. The location is convenient too, making it a perfect spot for a casual yet satisfying meal.Highly recommend this place for anyone craving tasty Mediterranean food.

Tried this establishment for the first time, and I was really impressed. I ordered the Chicken Gyro and Pasta, and their Mediterranean Salad. The food was just OK. If you're looking for a Mediterranean inspired quick bite then this is a nice option. The restaurant is very clean and inviting. The staff is also very friendly. The location is good with ample parking. We had the fish sandwich and the chicken plates. The chicken was seasoned and cooked well, the salad was good. The rice was disappointing and so was the fish sandwich. The fish is tilapia (there was no sign stating this) and I'm not a fan of tilapia. The issues are more so chain related and not location specific.

My boyfriend and I decided to give this restaurant a try based off the amazing reviews it had received! There was no wait at 7pm on a Saturday which we thought was amazing, but was probably more telling than anything. The host was very welcoming, but that was the only positive experience. They were out of wings for the night (which was the only thing he was excited to try at this place) so he decided to get the hamburger instead. I ordered the chicken sandwich and i had no issues with my meal. When he received his meal it was missing the main ingredient...THE PATTY! How do you forget to place the patty on the burger?? Very horrible service. The waitress was very apologetic, but she was either very new and over worked, or under the influence because she was very slow to even comprehend the issue with what she just served him. The food tasted okay, but the staff is lacking quality customer service. We will not be returning.

Za's is a great place to get good tasting pizza in a reasonable amount of time. Their spinach dip and pita are amazing. Our server Oilivia was very attentive, carried herself professionally, and always had a smile on her face. The indoor seating setup is a little odd and broken up. The outdoor seating is plentiful and more cohesive. Parking is a bit difficult. However, we will definitely be back.

Za's was really good! It's a little more upscale than your basic pizza joint, and the portions aren't huge, but it definitely substitutes quality for quantity. The pizza and breadsticks tasted great, and I loved the homemade lemonade as well. It might not be my go-to pizza restaurant, but I'll probably come back the next time I want something a little more debonair.

Parking lot was crazy and almost left. Glad I waited and didn't. Took us line to get a parking spot then it was to stay is at a table. The wait staff came quickly and attended to our order. My only complaint was the check in and getting the check at the end. The spinach artichoke dip is so yummy. Got a 14" pizza for 2 of us and it was enough with left overs.

Our family had Za's for dinner on a Saturday night. The place was already packed at 5:15, which is great for them. The only sad part was that they did not have anymore high chairs left for our toddler, so we tried one of their booster seats. We tried the deviled eggs - very basic and middle of the road. We would definitely skip those next time. But the chicken bacon ranch calzone and the delicious pizza, made us forget all about those eggs. We will definitely be back for pizza and calzones!

Ordered a pizza for dinner and once I got home saw how poorly made it was. There was hardly any cheese on the pizza, the toppings were just thrown all over and the crust was burned. I called to let them know how awful the pizza was and was offered a remake. That was a nice gesture, but we live 30 minutes away from the restaurant. The guy that answered the phone (was very nice and helpful) spoke to his manager, who told him to tell me that it was a busy part of the day and they didn't have time to talk to me to figure out a resolution for the issue and that I needed to call back later tonight or tomorrow. That's poor customer service on the part of the manager, but we will see if they offer an acceptable resolution... UPDATE- manager called back. Refunded our money and gave us a gift card. We'll give them another shot...

The seasonal menus feature locally sourced ingredients and an array of small plate specials that are not to be missed. The restaurant's charming ambiance, adorned with fresh flowers and cute window seats, adds to the Southern menu's appeal.
Enjoyed a delicious lunch at this lovely quaint cafe. The service was excellent and friendly, food was fresh, simple, with a variety of options. The tomato and Brie soup had a rich flavor and perfect consistency. The Big Salad was certainly large enough for one person filled with generous amounts of chicken, fresh greens, tomatoes and corn bread croutons. My shrimp salad wrap tasted like my mother’s homemade recipe. Divine! And the broccoli salad was a perfect compliment as a side. Porch seating was relaxing and cool for a June day. Will definitely visit again.

Had a nice lunch date here today. We tried multiple of the daily specials listed on the board, but just wasn’t wowed. I try not to be overly picky when eating out but there was just one thing a smidge off about each item. Would try again, with different choices next time. Best item- broccoli salad (was amazing! )

Spotted Salamader is a bright shining gem in Columbia SC! On a bright sunny January day I finally experienced a lovely lunch spot on my restaurant wish list. The food was fantastic and if I lived near here I would eat here all the time. I had the special avocado and shrimp, deviled eggs with feta and sun dried tomatoes and the pimento cheese appetizers. I am not a super fan of pimento cheese but their's is fire! My friends had the pecan chicken salad sandwiches and barbecue chicken salad. I took home the oatmeal cream pie/cookie. Y'all it looks like a giant Little Debbie. It was delicious and crunchier than a Debbie. The restaurant has limited seating, but comfortably homey. A winner in my book!

I don’t go here enough!! That’s all that kept running through my mind as soon as I opened the door to this quaint little luncheon cafe (they do catering too). You get in a rut and go to the same few places in a 5 mile radius but do yourself a huge favor and take a best friend or a date or someone who really needs to be treated to an awesome lunch and enjoy a wonderful meal at the Spotted Salamander♥️. Daily specials for deviled eggs (🔥), sides and sandwiches along with desserts are a must so be sure and check the board when you walk in. Like a nice glass of wine with lunch? Done! Such a beautifully decorated cafe in an old home on Richland St in downtown Columbia. Do yourself a favor and get there when they open to get street parking and first choice of the tables. There are some outside tables as well but if you know summers in SC…wait for one of those in the fall. I’ve never had anything here that I didn’t rave about for days after! This is a must visit!

Spotted Salamander is one of the finest, most charming restaurants in Columbia. It manages to feel both comfortable and up-scale. The place a lovely 'bistro' vibe of a Southern Kitchen and comfortably elevates it. I've had both meals and attended special events (including a fantastic wildlife fundraiser) and I've always walked away with a few important notes - as an upscale place, I've never left hungry, I've never had a bad meal, the staff (and owner) are lovely people, and I find myself curious to try even dishes that I'd normally lean away from! I've included some pictures of the food served during the special event; all in all these are dishes you'd expect to find at a Parisian bistro at the top of it's game - what a treat it is to have something so special in Columbia! All in all, if you live in Columbia, this is a must-visit spot. My suggestion is enjoy it now before it gets discovered or someone pops a Michelin Star on the front!

I am Research Professor in hospitality and tourism at USC and I like doing my own foodie tourism research! I highly recommend this Southern culinary sweet spot with a contemporary twist. Everything is excellent. The chicken salad is my favorite. Try the deviled eggs. And don't forget burger day on Friday. There are few places I can take away a coke in a bottle and a gourmet brownie for the afternoon! Staff is excellent and attentive. Local or visitor--don't miss it! 5 stars.

Such a cute lunch spot with a cozy, inviting atmosphere. They have a very creative menu with fun takes on Southern cuisine. Must get the Daily Deviled Egg Special!!! 🤤 Seriously the best deviled eggs I’ve ever had. I also got the Tomato Pie Mac & Cheese. So much flavor and well-seasoned. That crust was delightful. I really wish I had saved room for dessert…. so many delicious options. Definitely a must-visit in Columbia!
Brooke C — Google review
To be honest, I was a little disappointed. We should have went earlier because by the time we got there for lunch (1:30) they were out of the deviled egg special and Brussels sprouts so I didn’t have a chance to get the small bites that I wanted. I got the tomato soup and it was flavorless. My burger was dried out and the dessert was too rich for me. It was my 2nd time visiting and it was very different from the first time I tried this place a few years ago. Since my initial visit, they have added a house to supply the over flow business. Unfortunately, the atmosphere is vastly different from the main room. It’s a bit too quiet there, while the first is more vibrant.

If you're on the lookout for a delightful dining experience, Panera Bread is a must-visit. This popular counter-service bakery and café chain offers an array of delicious options, from hearty sandwiches to fresh salads, all while being known for its signature bread and complimentary WiFi. Recently, I had the pleasure of indulging in their menu multiple times within just one week due to my proximity to this charming spot.
Excellent experience! I arrived early on a Wednesday morning, and Veronica unlocked the door right at 6am. I appreciated that the restaurant was clean, and she was ready to go. I ordered two bakers’ dozen bagels, and she was prompt and helpful. The bagels and service were great, and I highly recommend!
HeavyHauler — Google review
Worst food I’ve eaten at a Panera location. The soups didn’t taste right and were lukewarm like they were microwaved in their paper cups. The breads didn’t taste fresh or as good as usual. The pastries/sweets tasted dry and days old. No hot water and only one option for tea. The girl from the front counter was replacing coffee and I said the water for tea was cold, she said I could use the microwave to heat it up (with a single use cup). The only thing that was up to standard was the bag of chips. The store ruined all the good food I used to associate with Panera Bread.

I frequent Panera, always same order. Young man working kitchen on Tuesday evening, nailed it. Best sandwich ever! Kept it simple but RIGHT! Evening staff at this location are some of the nicest staff of any Panera i have been! Excellent job all!!

If you don't have the reasoning or math skills to understand the following: you owe me $0.19 and I hand you 1 extra penny, now you give me two dimes... you ABSOLUTELY shouldn't be a cashier ANYWHERE AT ALL.... otherwise, smoothie was good, restaurant was mostly clean. Panera: please start making sure your employees are qualified for the position you put them in. Okay, math isn't their strong suit? Have them cook or be a barista.... just saying.

My wife and I frequent this location a great deal. The service is great. The manager hands down is absolutely the best and the staff is as amazing as the manager. The food is always fresh and ready when I come in to pick it up. When I do need to come in to order, the food is always ready in a timely manner. As a former restaurant owner, I can be a little critical and am detailed oriented. But, without a doubt this is the best one that I have encountered. My wife loves the salad with apples and the manager and most of the staff knows how she likes it and it is always fixed to perfection. People are quick to give bad reviews but they should definitely sing praises when deserved. Job well done!!!!!!!!

I had a fantastic chipotle chicken avocado melt. There appeared to be someone new working the counter. I was charged for bottles of water when we wanted cups of water but Eli, helped refund those! Eli gave great customer service. Food was great, customer service was great!

This doesn’t even deserve a 1 star. unethical staff ! Who’s training these kids? I can hear them laughing a mile away ! No coffee really no coffee ready. Took 20 minutes to brew coffee but hey, careful if you call their attention. Management 0 here. This is a message for the director of South Carolina Brian Mcdonagh save this store now !!!!!! But the way the bread racks are empty . 12 noon and not one single pastry. Bad management of trucking orders and ordering supplies. Whole store is dirty floors have food on them table tops have food on them as well.

Have been eating the meal from Panera for couple times in 1 week. As i’m stuck staying nearby, i randomly tried this cafe. Tried dine in, pick up, and delivery. All services were great and nice. Ordered couple menus there, tried the chicken sandwich, chipotle sandwich, chicken salad, baja bowl, tomato soup, french soup. All taste good and never disappoint me. The service is good and the staffs are polite and kind. They separate the place for dine in ordering and pick up counter, quite organized and fast service. Location certainly easy to find as they are just in the corner of the road.

It's also recommended to visit the Visitors Center for insider tips and explore the city's vibrant public art scene.
The overnight oats are amazing!! I could literally eat them for every meal. 10/10 highly recommend. The chai latte is always so good. The atmosphere is so relaxing. It’s just all around a good vibe. Such a great start to the day.

Come here a lot for brunch. Always good, every-time. This is where I bring friends, and family visiting from out of town. Pastries are really good, they are made fresh daily, and when they sell out, they sell out. Also fun to come in, and see what new pastries they have that day. You don’t tip, so prices reflect that. Which I like. I always park on Lady st, and walk up the short “alleyway” to them.

I absolutely love Small Sugar — everything about it is wonderful! I recommend it to all my friends and family. My only suggestion (and I truly hope the owners consider it) is to stay open a bit later than 3 p.m., maybe until 5 p.m. From a business standpoint, you’re definitely missing out on the late lunch crowd, especially on weekends. Other than that, I can’t recommend this charming spot enough for breakfast, lunch, or just a cozy coffee and bread break.

Sound Bites Eatery is a charming gourmet restaurant in downtown Columbia, offering a variety of sandwiches and salads made from locally sourced ingredients. The menu features unique options like The Twerky Turkey and Tuna It Up, along with vegan, gluten-free, and keto choices. In addition to coffee, local brews, and wine, the eatery also serves morning dishes. The ambiance is cozy yet spacious with plenty of natural lighting and seating.
Seriously good food being served up here! I read in another review that the pistachio pasta is a must try...yes, I agree! It's so good. I also enjoyed the pimento cheese dip appetizer. The Ruben was very tasty. The tuna was good as well, especially the garbanzo bean salad that was the side. I'd get that by itself! Very nice vibe inside. If I had a long lunch break, it'd be a nice place to chill at 😎

A quiet spot downtown with personality and delicious, fresh food. I love the selection of sandwiches and am determined to try them all! I've had a few different ones, but some top favorites from the current lineup are: "G.O.A.T. avocado toast", "Fig Pig", "The Twerkey Turkey", and "Stop. Hammy Time". I also really enjoyed the elusive egg salad brioche sandwich that I only got to try since it was the special of the week. A great lunch option that also offers special events and a fun space to meet up with friends.

You know how sometimes you just need a moment away from the chaos of work? Everything seems so fast-paced, and you just need a moment to sit down, eat, and feel normal before returning. This is that place to come to recharge and relax. Sound Bites laid back, artsy, welcoming atmosphere makes you feel like you have found your little secret retreat from the world. The music is calming and positive. Little details are everywhere of creativity. Games you can bring to your table and play while waiting or even books to read. This is a low-key, fun, safe space to take the edge off for a bit. The food is absolutely delicious! Their sandwiches are so good that you say "Mmm" with each bite. The coffee is fresh daily. There are so many salads and gourmet sides to choose from. All of their orders come with cool music inspired names. The " Dip It Real Good" is a gormet style french dip with the best au jus sauce thay I have ever tasted. This place is very clean and staff are very helpful and happy, and not the fake kind of happy you notice in a lot of restaurants these days. They are genuinely good, smiling, and positive people who deliver your food very fast and accurately. Bathrooms are spacious with a bar besides the toilet and low enough sinks, so it is wheelchair accessible. They offer booths and / or table with chairs, so moving around for handicap would not be a problem. Kid friendly. The food is fast and delicious. The service is high quality, and the atmosphere is perfect for any laid-back occasion. You are blessed if you have been here and a fool who is missing out if you have not. Make the trip to downtown Cola and enjoy.

I rarely leave reviews, but I felt like I needed to share my experience. I went to Sound Bites in Columbia really hoping for a great meal, but I left disappointed, still hungry, and honestly feeling taken advantage of. We ordered soup, salad, a wrap, a grilled cheese for my grandson, a sandwich, a quesadilla, and drinks (iced teas and lemonade). The food just wasn’t good. Some plates barely had a couple bites taken out of them because no one wanted to keep eating. The restaurant did take 25% off two of those dishes, but since they were almost full plates, it didn’t feel like much of a courtesy. Even with that partial discount, our bill still came to $99.97, which feels outrageous for what we ordered. We have eaten at other places that served a lot of great food, left with plenty of left overs, fed 6-7 people including beverages and still barely paid over $50 including %20 gratuity. What really sealed it for me was when a bug that looked like a roach walked across the counter. The server quickly covered it with a cup and removed it, but it left a lasting impression. I’m not someone who enjoys leaving negative reviews, and I truly don’t mean this to come across as hateful. But the combination of poor food quality, the high bill, and the hygiene issue made this one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve had. I left feeling robbed, and I can’t recommend it in good conscience.

Took my daughter here for a quick lunch break. I was pleasantly surprised at this little place. Timing is everything…we managed to get seated right away, but it got crowded very quickly! My daughter has eaten from this place (take out) several times. This was my first visit. She ordered the G.O.A.T Avocado Toast and it looked fantastic. She said it was very good, and she’d had it before. I ordered the Boppin’ Berry Salad and added the crispy pancetta. It was delicious, and HUGE. It came with a balsamic vinaigrette. I probably put too much dressing on the saladI think I would try the honey citrus vinaigrette next time. Parking garage is above the restaurant, so easy access. They do have some outside seating, but it’s on Sumter Street, and it can get a bit busy with traffic sometimes.

⭐️⭐️ I really wanted to like Sound Bites in Columbia, but the food just didn’t live up to the price point. The atmosphere and concept are nice, but for what you pay, the quality and flavor just weren’t there. Service was fine, but overall I left feeling like it wasn’t the best value. Hopefully with a few improvements it could be a much better experience. Our bill was discounted at 25% and its was still over 100$

Googled "best French dip in Columbia" and this little gem popped up. Lunch on a weekday was busy but I seated myself at the small counter and service was great. Obviously, I had the French dip, but after viewing the menu and what they were serving to other customers, I'll be back.

11/01 1:30pm We normally love sound bites. The atomsphere is amazing, service is friendly and efficient, and the food is tasty! Today was a very outlandish day. When we walked in the hostess was very rude while we tried to find which table we wanted to dine at.We were met with rude looks from our waitress when asking for things and the food was subpar compared to our pervious visits with barely any meat on the sandwiches. We never received any refills and it seemed as if the atmosphere was filled with individuals just ready to leave, which was evident in the service provided. I hate this was our experience today. We enjoy soundbites and hope that in the future, this is not our experience.

Cafe Strudel in West Columbia is a popular and lively cafe and espresso bar that offers an all-day menu featuring their famous hangover hash browns, along with a selection of beer and wine. The cozy atmosphere, adorned with local art, makes it a beloved spot for locals. Their signature brunch dishes like the Hangover Hash Browns have gained them widespread recognition, even being featured in Southern Living.
Traveling thru the area, Cafe Strudel caught my attention for breakfast. Delightful spot where locals & travelers stop to get caffeine, food & caught up on all things local. If you're reading this, just go to Waffle House you'll save money and have better food. The grits are not cooked through. The brisket biscuits are so chewy, you can't chew it. The only thing was good was the fresh squeezed orange juice, I would give this item 5 stars. When we ask to return the biscuit, we had to find our waitress. We also had to ask for butter. It would have been nice to have butter and jam on the table. We wanted jam, but after trying to find our waitress and asking for 2 things, we decided it wasn't worth it to ask for some jam. I'm posting a picture of the uncooked grits, you can tell by the picture. I'm also posting a picture of the receipt, which you can see what this nasty food cost. Also look at how you're supposed to flush the toilet. For the $5 coffee, you have to serve yourself Parking = 1 Star Service = 3 Stars Food = 1 Star Bathroom = 1 Star

For a classic, hearty South Carolina breakfast, Cafe Strudel in West Columbia is the spot. It’s always busy, and for good reason—the food is consistently delicious and the service is lightning-fast. The star of the show is undoubtedly the "Hangover Hashbrowns": a massive plate of crispy hashbrowns topped with cheese, tomatoes, onions, and your choice of meat, all smothered in their signature spicy cheese sauce. It’s the ultimate comfort food. Their Benedicts are also excellent, and they have a great selection of pancakes and waffles. The coffee is strong and bottomless. The atmosphere is casual and friendly, a true local gathering place. Whether you’re curing a actual hangover or just craving a massive, satisfying breakfast, Cafe Strudel delivers every time.

Terra is a bistro with a Southern-leaning menu and skyline views. It offers a romantic atmosphere for couples and friends to enjoy. The restaurant's provisions are sourced from local farmers, ensuring fresh and high-quality ingredients. A wine distributor recommended Terra as a romantic Valentine's Day choice due to its world-class chef, farm-to-table food experience, and beautiful ambiance. The name 'Terra' means earth, symbolizing the grounded and lasting nature of relationships.
Terra was amazing. We had a large group and everyone raved about their meals. Meals we ordered and loved were the Steak Frites, Korean Short Rib Lettuce Wraps, and Chinese Braised Pork Belly. I got the Crispy Eggplant and it was phenomenal. It was actually crispy and not soggy. Desserts we chose were peanut butter pie with a lovely toasted marshmallow topping, a banana bread cake with ice cream and a cookie with Maker’s Mark ice cream. They had some very unusual ice cream flavors and dessert options. Several agreed they were all delicious, but the peanut butter pie was the best. The drink menu was also quite varied. The servers were exceptional and the atmosphere was comfortable yet elegant. If you’re in the Vista area of Columbia, you need to plan a meal at Terra. (I have no pics of the food. We all just dug in)

Pleasant early Father’s Day dinner at this fine restaurant. The cocktails were excellent. We were a party of five. The lamb Mac was a group favorite; everyone enjoyed it. The house salad with goat cheese was also good. Two orders of the ribeye steak and fries were brought to our table. Perfect medium rare with excellent fries. My scallops were perfect. The lamb entree was also very good. The one thing I would like to add, apart from the excellent food was the time given to us at the table to talk and enjoy the atmosphere between drinks, appetizers, entrees and dessert. I was pleasantly surprised that we were not “rushed” out in any way. You don’t see that in many restaurants in the US. I will be returning, for sure

I can not say enough thank yous to the Terra team. I had a last minute event come up for about 20-25 people that I needed and event space for. I sent an email via the Terra website explaining what type of event I was having and the number of quests and within the hour I received a response! Mike Lee and his team did PHENOMENAL! They were absolutely attentive and stayed in contact with me not only during the process but also the night of. They made sure that guest were aware of their tabs and the stipulation I had set in place in terms of beverages. I would like to also shout out Kathryn T. It is evident that when there is a great leader present (Mike Lee) employees are also amazing. Kathryn and Mike were both so patient and kind. When I walked in I needed to rearrange some tables in the event space and without a question Kathryn fixed the tables as I needed.Kathryn went ABOVE and BEYOND the night of the event as a server. I was slightly stressed about having to plan such a last minute event (about a week and half time to plan) and Mike Lee, Kathryn and everyone else on the Terra team made that night so beautiful and everything ran so smoothly I had no stress at all. Also, there is complimentary vallet which was also amazing as my guests did not have to worry about finding a parking spot. I look forward to doing business again in the near future with Mike Lee and the Terra team. Thank you all for your phenomenal service, kindness, patience and every other good thing you do and continue to do!

My partner and I just left this restaurant and I wanted to share our experience because we were looking forward to this and we left very disappointed. I want to start out by saying this was not a horrible experience, the atmosphere and ambience was very romantic and relaxing and the wine was exceptional, what was lacking was in the food and service. I had the scallops and he had the pork chop, all i could taste was salt in my food and his pork chop was unevenly cooked with parts of his pork chop being rare, medium, and well done/ dry. The service felt inattentive and we were there to celebrate my partners graduation and the experience felt unsatisfactory and was not worth the money we spent. We had a gift card that took 100 off and i still feel like we spent more money than what we got.

Tropical Smoothie Cafe is a health-conscious chain that offers a variety of custom smoothies, sandwiches, and wraps. Customers praise the friendly staff and quick service at some locations. The menu features fresh fruit and vegetable smoothies that are perfect for a refreshing start to the day or as a post-workout treat. Some recommend trying the Sunrise Sunset smoothie while others highlight the peanut butter and banana flatbread as an underrated dinner option.
This location is a personal favorite! And, as usual, today didn’t disappoint. I was welcomed as soon as I walked in the door. Today, I ordered online and got there a minute before my order was ready. A staff member noticed me looking at the online order shelf and asked my name. I appreciate that they are so attentive. I have some food sensitivities and appreciate that I can customize smoothies and smoothie bowls. I also appreciate that the smoothie bowls are frozen so that they don’t melt quickly. My family also enjoys the meals. But, they don’t have gluten free bread, so I’ll stick with the delicious bowls. The restaurant is clean, bright, and welcoming- just like the staff. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Been there a few times, workers are a bit rude. Saw the man in the drive through roll his eyes at what a customer said through his headset in front of me, workers have also been quite passive aggressive as well for no reason. Food is pretty good, sometimes it seems like they’re in a rush and it changes every time I get it. Overall, this place is okay. I would just work on your service to your customers. It really throws the whole thing off.

Nestled in the vibrant 5 Points area of Columbia, South Carolina, the Gourmet Shop is a must-visit for food enthusiasts. Renowned for its delectable chicken salad, this charming eatery has garnered a loyal following thanks to its simple yet flavorful recipe that strikes the perfect balance without overwhelming mayo. Beyond just great food, my experience as a property manager highlighted the importance of strong leadership and dedicated staff in any establishment.
I just renewed my lease and wanted to leave a review because of how much I have loved living here. The amenities are great and it feels super safe, as well as it being the perfect distance from campus. They just hosted a pool party a few weeks ago and I got to meet Shabrea the assistant manager, she was excited to meet me and my roommate and she seems so nice and genuine.

My son's move in when they were first opening. As a property manager myself I was very impressed with the overall place. The one thing I did see that is real needed was a strong manager staff. Having some college students as leasing agent are good, but having a strong lead is the most important. I have been running the same complex for 8 yrs and I gave the old manager some suggestions to improve. They had a great maintenance staff as well. At that time she did used some of my suggestions and the students were happy. This new staff are not holding people accountable for actions. Hopefully it will get better because I had suggested the apartment to several parents a d students they are transferring..

When moving in we were given a disgusting room. Covered in filth and not even attempted to be cleaned. Backed up sinks, mold, stains everywhere, piles of garbage, vomit in the closet, an EXTREME mold problem, etc. When the situation was brought to the attention of the front desk workers, they yelled at us (my mother and I) and told us we were being unreasonable. That none of that had anything to with them. They told us the room would be cleaned eventually and to just deal with it until then. Extremely unprofessional. If the bedroom, kitchen, or bathroom were in livable condition that would have been no problem. But unfortunately they were not. I could not even unpack my things during my first week of class living here. Also, sure I could have cleaned it myself, but i did choose to live and pay rent here to clean up the mess that was given to me. Eventually, after my roommate, mother, and I complained enough they found a room that had opened up and offered us to move into that new room instead. We decided to take that offer as we just wanted to settle in and begin to enjoy our time at college. Since we moved from a 5 bedroom to a 2 bedroom there was a price jump, they were gracious enough to keep us at the 5 bedroom rates. ONLY after I had a conversation with staff and told them that charging us the 2 bedroom was unreasonable. Once again, we did not ask or choose to live in a 2 bedroom. They offered it to us since nobody had cleaned the apartment we were moving into prior to us getting there or a week and a half after. After living in the 2 bedroom at a 5 bedroom rate for a year, they asked us if we wanted to renew our lease. We said we would so that we didn't have to move out and relocate. The following year once our lease began, we were charged at a 2 bedroom rate. We were not given the option to move into a 5 bedroom nor were we alerted that we would be charged at a 2 bedroom rate. But at that point, we would have had to pay more to break our leases. So instead we both had to work our butts off to pay higher rent that did not agree to. The way the office handled the entire situation of us living here was extremely unprofessional. I wish i remembered the name of the two girls that yelled at my mother and I the first day I was here. They were down right rude and do not deserve their job if they are going to use it as an excuse to treat their tenants like that. Besides all of that, the pool was completely unusable for a year. The stairwells have smelled like piss the entirety of my stay here. The garage gate was broke 80% of the time which allowed people in the neighborhood to park in the parking garage to smoke weed, litter, and take up parking spots. I know multiple peoples who's cars were broken into and the apartment complex barely did anything to assist or help them. The gate was attempted to be fixed maybe twice, after that it seemed they gave up. Security did not do their job either as homeless persons would roam the halls and others would do drugs in the stairwells. Also since having a balcony with windows that don't lock and can be opened from the outside, it was a terrifying sleep almost overnight. I woke up a few times to persons on my balcony trying open our door/windows. Overall, choose absolutely anywhere else if you want to enjoy your college experience.

1. Everything was falling apart when we started the lease. Sink, light bulbs, heating, doors. 2. The windows are not isolated at all. 3. The wifi had multiple problems during the second semester which prevented me from passing several interviews in my own home. 4. I applied to be a community assistant and never got any answer positive nor negative. Which is a lack of respect. 5. Got my bike stolen right in front of the building. And, "of course" the cameras weren't working. 6. Security is totally incompetent and watching movies all night. We don't need any keys to enter the building. 7. Trash systems are the worst, we can see trash bags all over the back of the building. So do yourself a favor, don't rent at Station.

Overall content with my stay here. I spoke with the manager Shanay at the pool party they had and she was also really sweet. The front desk staff is really nice and every time I have an issue maintenance normally comes quick.

Though convenient location, prices have fees that hike up the rent by a decent amount. Also, though “security” helps the fact it is located in a sketchy area, the gate blocking all access to the parking garage besides residents, has not been fixed for months even after a recent issue with multiple cars being broken into. If you are looking for an apartment, I would consider another complex. Edit: Update to this review 4 months after the owners response, the gates have yet to be fixed and the fire alarm still goes off constantly. The security is still an issue, i will update my review again as the months go on.
Wan — Google review
i seriously dont know what i can say short of absolutely awful. for starters, the security is completely nonexistent. we had homeless people entering the building and sleeping in the elevator bays. when residents complain to security, they blame it on the residents. the garage arm and door that were supposed to keep the building protected were up and broken the entire year and even slammed on the hood of my car, leaving damage. when i contacted the apartment about such damage, they quickly cut me off, saying that this same issue had happened with several other residents and did absolutely nothing to rectify the issue, nor did they ever contact me about the damage done to my car, even after i had left my information. i could go on and on about the lack of safety, cleanliness, and help that this apartment has, but google has a limit on characters that can be used… i will say that the apartment is pretty convenient since it’s in five points and is relatively close to campus; but honestly, for me, convenience is not worth jeopardizing safety or comfortability.

Been going to the office quite a lot to ask a few questions about parking and maintenance. Every time I go down there this guy named James is super helpful and answers all my questions swiftly. That guy definitely needs a raise, best customer service I have seen in a while.
