Cafe San Sebas is a charming spot located in a pleasant square, offering a bright and vibrant interior courtyard that creates a welcoming atmosphere. It's known for its delicious brunch options, including breakfast burritos, pancakes, bagels, salads, juices, and coffee. The cafe serves contemporary comfort food from North America with generous portion sizes at fair prices. Situated in the San Sebas barrio of Cuenca, it attracts both locals and tourists with its excellent food and coffee.
Heard a lot about this place. We had Breakfast Tacos and Huevos Rancheros. Not much of a difference than one comes in Toastadas and other one on a taco. Food was very flavorful. We enjoyed the art works more than the food. They hosted a dog adoption day, so get to meet a lot of furry friends. Service was excellent. Looks to be popular with expats. I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for a good brunch.

Atmosphere and decor is fabulous. My husband loved his breakfast burrito. The home fries are delicious with great seasonings. A few were cold tho. My bagel breakfast sandwich was good but the bagel is cooked on the grill not just toasted so it was a bit greasy. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful and spoke English. Reasonable prices for quantity and quality. Highly recommend!

AN OUTSTANDING BREAKFAST in Cuenca 🤩🤩🤩. It looks very popular, most of the tables are occupied even in the middle of the work week. The breakfast menu is simple yet substantially varied to suit any gustatory desire. *** NOTABLY, each of listed BF dishes have “sub-selections” such as fried or scrambled eggs, bacon or ham, white or multigrain bread, potatoes or fruit bowls. It’s PERSONALIZED BREAKFAST … great concept / business model 👏👏👏👏👏. SOME RECOMMENDATIONS: 🤩🤩🤩 Desayuno San Sebas: it’s the house specialty. It’s a very substantial BF, eggs prepared however one desires, choices of meat and carbs. 🤩🤩🤩 Migas: a lovely ovovegetarian BF 🤩🤩🤩 Meat Lovers Scramble: a large BF for the carnivore 👍👍👍👍👍 For bread choice: Ask for the Integral Multigrano …. It’s a terrific whole grain multigrain bread… it’s flavorful, substantial and HEALTHY choice for bread 😊😊😊 The breakfast potatoes is excellent: Seasoned well and flavorful 🤩🤩🤩 Given a choice, ask for the fruit bowl! OH the coffee is fresh piping hot! Service is outstanding! The general ambiance is well designed. There are three dining rooms and an upstairs. Tables are comfortable and well spaced apart. 👏👏👏👏👏

I had just the burger but it was soo good i’m sure the other stuff they have is great as well. The burger was juicy and tasty. The place is also very beautiful with great artwork and lovely ambiance. I look forward to trying the other stuff on their menu. We did some work there too and it was a perfect space for that.

Such a beautiful little place. The terrace upstairs was very cute and pleasant. I had the huevos rancheros which were amazing. The breakfast tacos and "hippie" scramble are also recommended. The strawberry juice was so good, I had 3 servings.

Excellent breakfast fare, gracious staff and well located establishment. Really enjoyed everything about Cafe San Sebas. Gem of a spot with quality dishes at fair prices 👌. Only complaint was the regular black coffee but that is a minor issue that should not deter you from checking this place out. Thank you Cafe San Sebas for your amazing breakfast and great service!!!!
Clent J — Google review
For selfish reasons, I hesitate to review this place because I would be inconvenienced if it got overrun. But, the food, hospitality and vibe are wonderful. Don’t take all the brownies, please leave one for me.
Kejomac — Google review
The food and coffee is pretty good but I was disappointed in the service. The waitress didn’t answer my questions about the food properly (even though I spoke in Spanish). I wanted to know what else came with pumpkin French toast (which isn’t on their regular menu) and she said “nothing”, even though it comes with fruit, granola, a sauce and cream. I asked for my juice to be with very little sugar but it was still too sweet. I don’t recommend eating here if you have dietary restrictions because they don’t seem to give enough information about what’s in the food and they don’t care to adjust the food according to your dietary restrictions.

Mangiare Bene is a must-visit for those who appreciate great flavors and exceptional service. The extensive menu offers a variety of pasta dishes with different sauces to choose from, and the desserts are highly recommended. Guests can enjoy watching the chefs in action by requesting a table near the kitchen. The restaurant also impresses with complimentary tapas upon arrival and free dessert, along with excellent wine selection. The attentive staff ensures a pleasant dining experience, making it an ideal spot for both couples and families.
Great Italian food. Nice ambiance excellent service right inThe historic district.
Carlos A — Google review
Mangiare Bene in Cuenca was an average dining experience. Although the location was fairly convenient, the food left us somewhat disappointed. Despite the owner speaking Italian, the quality of the ingredients didn’t live up to expectations. The dishes, including the bolognese which was overly salty, were authentic yet simple. The ambiance matched this simplicity—nothing remarkable. Service was decent, but overall, it didn’t justify the price, which was relatively high for Cuenca standards. Not a place we would particularly recommend given the quality-to-price ratio.

I strolled by and was drawn in by how warm and inviting this place looked. The food was lovely, the service was excellent and friendly, and they were wonderfully welcoming to my pup… who also thought it was delicious.🐶

Superb open kitchen, excellent food. Dining staff seemed a bit short but we were enjoying the company. Everyone loved the food and presentation. One of my favorites 🤩
David J — Google review
Walking into Manggiare after having read so many glowing reviews of the food I was prepared for....nothing like what we received. While our waiter was stellar and the atmosphere is as charming and inviting as it appears in the photos, the food was simply...almost awful. Our personal pizza was not as good as many frozen pizzas that can be purchased in the US. The dough seemed almost certainly purchased frozen and used with an insipid tomato sauce and a very commercial processed cheese not remotely resembling a good mozzarella. Likewise, the ham and salami used were very mediocre commercial grocery store products. Better can easily be found at SuperMaxi. In short, the pizza was awful. The pasta with ¿Alfredo? sauce was only a little better. Actually, the only food that we enjoyed were the complimentary bruschetta with red peppers and another eggplant based dish, and the complimentary tiramisu (good, but by no means excellent) which we received, probably when the waiter realized that we were clearly disappointed with our meals. I hate to be negative but I must be honest. Much, much better is to be found in this city in the way of both pizza and pasta, in our experience. I do, however, agree with the positive comments about service and ambience.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience at Restaurante Mangiare! The waiter was very friendly and attentive! The menu was extensive, with lots of different pasta and sauces to choose from! The best part was our desserts. My husband had their chocolate cake and devoured it! I had the Lemon pie, so delicious! I’ll add a picture. Highly recommend you check this place out while in Cuenca!

Restaurant
El Jardín Restaurante is a popular dining spot located on the ground floor of Hotel Victoria in Cuenca. With 35 years of delighting guests, it's considered one of the city's best gourmet restaurants. The restaurant offers an extensive menu featuring national, international, and local cuisine. Guests can enjoy elegant European dishes with excellent vegetarian options. The restaurant is known for its tasty food and a wide variety of salads that have received high praise from visitors over the years.
The restaurant is very lovely and the atmosphere is classy. The service was excellent and the food came out quickly. All of the ingredients were clearly fresh and wonderfully prepared. There are vegetarian options. I myself had the salad, spinach ravioli and chocolate cake and all were delicious with high quality ingredients. They also have herbal tea made with fresh herbs.
Oriana — Google review
Overhyped overrated! There’s also a question of not standing by the advertised jazz singing.👎👎👎👎👎. The restaurant has a lovely ambiance, a setting that looks a throwback to the 1960s. As such, it does look like a nice venue for a jazz evening. UNFORTUNATELY, the lady singer did not appear and there’s not even an announcement the she will not be!!!! The quartet played some nice tunes, BUT the stretch of almost 3 hours, there’s no variety… Overall … BORING! For the reader, this drab live music has a separate $10 cover charge per person. The “Special Menu” look okay but nothing special. 👎 👎👎Empanadas de Viento::: contradiction in terms! “Viento” is a Castilian dish for a fluffy puff pastry dessert. Here, it’s cheese puff with sugar… WHY IS A DESSERT SERVED AS APPETIZER?? 🫤🫤🫤 Minestrone::: a classic simple Italian soup with a distinctive mild tomato flavor. Here, Parmesan cheese has been added making it a strange cheese-flavored soup. 👎👎👎 Fettuccini Porcini::: the pasta is very dry plain tasting, which means it’s an old factory made kind. The sauce is watery. And there’s hardly any identifiable to Porcini mushrooms, but some brownish ground stuff. 🫤🫤🫤 Lenguado Papillote::: for a restaurant that prides itself on their chef/cook, a small piece of fillet of sole served WRAPPED IN TIN FOIL… Why?? It’s also under seasoned. 🫤🫤🫤 Budin de Pan::: it’s more bread than pudding!!! It is very heavy! 👎👎👎👎👎Pavlova con Rujos Frutos::: it looks very pretty BUT THE PAVLOVA IS QUITE HARD, it takes a strong blow from a spoon to break it. This means it is either overcooked OR factory made OR made weeks ago. 😎 The only bright spot of the evening is the cocktail. Service is okay.

Beverley P — Google review
This was by far my worst meal in 3 weeks in beautiful Ecuador and one of the most expensive. Starting with a positive, the view is beautiful!! That's all I've got for positive. My passion fruit mojito was very strong, but the passion fruit tasted like it came from a frozen pulp. It was not fresh. The octopus appetizer was decent but thr octopus was so fishy tasting I couldn't eat it. I ordered the baked chicken with truffle rice/risotto and Eggplant. The chicken had good flavor, but one side being thicker than the other it was raw in the middle. The "truffle" rice was DISGUSTING, it tasted like licorice?? Then the Eggplant tasted like they just put plain sugar on it and cooked it in the oven. The worst part is I probably took a bite of rice, a bite of Eggplant and two bites of chicken (from the thinner cooked side) and the waiter cleared my plate without saying a word or asking if everything was OK (I'm fluent in spanish too!). The wait staff seem like they have been working there for 80 years and hate their jobs.. My wife had a steak that she ate most of, but she offered me some when she saw I wasn't going to eat my food and to me, the sauce tasted like it was a packaged sauce of some sort, definitely not freshly made. Also gross. I left the restaurant hungry and paid $5 for a shawarma down the street and was so happy. There are so many great places to eat in Cuenca, save yourself some disappointment and skip this one...
Disa J — Google review
One of the very worst service experiences for me anywhere, any time in my life! A small army of middle-aged, all male, and snobbish wait staff appeared at first to attend me (solo). It quickly became apparent just how patronizing and presumptuous they were to a man, treating me as a young know-nothing tourist they could just rush out the door. First, they put only the night's combo menu in front of me and I had to fight with them to provide me with the full menu even when I asked clearly in Spanish. I had to repeat myself in asking for the wine menu as well. The patronizing and humiliating experience makes El Jardin little better than an overrated tourist trap in my estimation. The only real gentleman I encountered was the attendant at the hotel front desk. The food was so-so, nice presentation but over-priced. The onion soup was mediocre at best, weak and drab in color. The sea bass beurre blanc had a good presentation, and the fish was right but the beurre blanc sauce was quite bland, virtually tasteless. Their offerings of wine by the glass are absolutely pathetic. Literally down to one choice for white: sauvignon blanc. Gorgeous, old colonial style building, inside very eclectic, actually (in a good way). The view of the river at the window is amazing.

Royalty. That’s what you’ll feel like. All the things they’ll do for you: open the door, take your luggage, hold your room key for you, treat you with respect, greet you at every moment, and on and on. If you get included breakfast they have vegan options. For us we had the buffet and it had vegan options as well. The room was super clean and the shower was excellent as well as the bathroom. The hotel was a mansion and has excellent quiet gardens to relax in. The lobby is decorated beautifully while you wait for a taxi or your family to pick you up. They offer laundry services among other services as well as call you a taxi service. They can recommend local attractions for you as well.

This is located in the middle of the Historic District in Cuenca and is the old mansion of one of the former mayors of the city. They have converted it into a hotel that is absolutely stunning. They have a complimentary breakfast that will satisfy any American and Cuencanos alike. The rooms were magnificent. We stayed in one of the outer rooms in the back and loved the walk through the garden to get there. The staff was amazing they gladly accommodated every ask we made. This place is 5 stars all the way!

This was a great experience. The hotel is located in a old historical building in a great central location of cuenca. It is absolutely beautiful. One of the stars was the staff - they are extremely on top of everything an helpful. I have never met people this great. The morning breakfasts too have been spectacular. I think its nice to be in a smaller hotel. I love the heating pads they bring you. Its a nice rustic hotel! the only things I would have to say is at night if someone is talking or walking you can hear everything

Beautiful hotel with exceptional service - the front desk and the restaurant staff were excellent - very responsive. Housekeeping was great as well. Great location and quiet in the back of the hotel. Gracious old world atmosphere. Breakfast could have been slightly better (eggs in particular) and a few food items ran out so we couldn't order the dish we most wanted.

This hotel is beautiful! We stayed in the building out back so we had to walk through the garden every time we went to our room and it was spectacular. The service is top notch, they take care of everything. The room it self was pristine. They have onsite laundry if you need it. Just two blocks away from the Park Calderon which has a huge selection of restaurants. Worth every penny staying here.

Nestled in the heart of Cuenca, Nandala Cocina Vegetariana is a must-visit for anyone craving delicious vegetarian and vegan cuisine. With an enticing fixed lunch menu and a diverse regular menu featuring dishes priced between $5 to $8, there's something for everyone. Diners rave about the Crispy Chicken Burger and Caesar salad, which have become local favorites. The restaurant's vibrant atmosphere draws patrons back time and again, making it hard to explore other vegetarian spots in town.
I went twice during my stay in Cuenca and I would explore the whole menu if I had more time in this city! The "no roast beef sandwich" and the mushroom soup with tofu were absolutely delicious. Their coffee and Kombucha is also very tasty.

Vegan Restaurant Starter: Cauliflower Wing Main Dish: Pad Thai Dessert: Brownie The Starter was great! Fresh cauliflower wings with a dip on salad with vegan Cesars dressing. Delicious! Main Dish was ok, could be more spicy! The Dessert was not my favourite but the only one that was available. The chocolate Sauce was cold but the Brownie was a little bit warm. I definitely wouldn’t order it again. Would be way better with vanilla sauce or ice cream. Or when the chocolate sauce would be warm.
T V — Google review
The restaurant we chose tonight is Nandala Cocina Vegana. We started with Cauliflower Bites that were super crispy and had the most amazing dipping sauce. We love that the bites were served on a yummy salad. Then we tried 2 vegan versions of Ecuadorian classics. The first is basically a potato soup with tofu, sweet peppers, avocado, and potato chips. The other is a green plantain mash with mushrooms and avocado. The plantain dish was served with a quart of herbal tea. Finally… chocolate cake! The cake was served in a chocolate soup. The bill came to $20 at this fancy place. All the food was exquisite. We highly recommend you visit them when you come to Cuenca

Very good vegan food, great service and clean. The burgers you see in the pictures were a 4/5 and 4.5/5. Only negative were the sweet potato chips which seemed to be packaged/bought and not tasty. The potato fries on the other hand were amazing 5/5! We also came for the lunch menu for 4.25 on a different day, which was great 5/5 with a soup entry, main dish and dessert and drink which were all very good. Highly recommend this place!

Entered and asked for the menu, the person came with a juice which i didnt order i then asked for the menu again, person didnt seem very interested as they walked away i asked what vegan options they had but was ignored or maybe the person didnt hear me.. looked at the menu for 5 minutes, prices seemed expensive, didnt feel welcome i could feel it so i decided to leave and inbetween the person didnt even come back to speak about the menu or give info on the restuarant, options or even ask to take my order. Not great client experience.

My new favorite place in town!! Woaw! The food is amazing, English speaking staff and did I already say, wonderful food?! There isn’t anything on the menu I wouldn’t recommend! They have not released my deposit and its been OVER A MONTH since I checked out. I have emailed the CFO and the Manager about this matter as nobody else has been able to help me. UPDATE 9.30.24 This is an update to my review above. This was a complete misunderstanding between me and the rep. Right after I reached out to the executives they immediately responded and said they will look into this matter. It took a few more weeks, however, over a conversation with the CFO, while he was about to refund $200, we noticed that I was charged the correct amount and I was confused with what the initial rep said via text. I thank Bayron Vallejo & Cristian Serrano for their patience with me and explaining everything. I take responsibility for perhaps not fully understanding the situation, which is why I am overturning my first review. I appreciate their attention and excellent customer service. I will certainly recommend this hotel to my friends and family!

This was my wife’s and I first time visiting this hotel. Their free shuttle service was on-time picking us from the airport. The check in staff was helpful. The room was clean. The restaurant staff were very attentive. They were kind to give us some free juice when we showed up the first night around 10 PM. One of the staff remembers, Luz, made the difference. We told her that we were visiting Cuenca to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary. Surprisingly, she gave some tiramisu cake as courtesy during our last breakfast there. It was a nice gesture of her. On a negative note, they were changing the carpet on the corridors near our room. These repairs did not allow us to sleep late. There was noise and a heavy smell of glue that came through the doors. I am sure the hotel will shine to other visitors once these repairs are done.

Beautiful boutique hotel right on the river and center of Old Cuenca. Our room had floor-to-ceiling windows that overlooked the river. The service was great. We were greeted with hot tea and there were small snacks for us in our room. Breakfast is served to your table, and includes fruit, bread, coffee, juice and eggs.

An excellent hotel. Nice staff, fair prices, great location, fancy breakfast included.

This hotel is beautiful, architecturally spectacular, beautiful decor and comfortable rooms. The staff are very attentive and treat you so well, you do not want to leave, and I can't wait to come back. The breakfast was fantastic each day and included with my room. The rates were spectacular since I avoided the Easter holiday week. I loved how they were continually improving the hotel to keep it clean and fresh. Way to go, Hotel Victoria!!!

My wife and I came in here on a quick one day trip to Cuenca. This was by far one of the best hotels we’ve stayed at in Ecuador if you spring for the balcony, you will love the views. Employees are very helpful and nice.

Best hotel in the old city HANDS DOWN. Perfect location, high-end interior, and excellent food. The service is outstanding.
Alejandro O — Google review
We stayed here on our exploratory trip, but now that we live in Cuenca, we return with some frequency just to enjoy the bar and excellent food. The wait staff are unassuming and so very professional. We've never had anything that was delicious. We would certainly put of friends in the hotel with its inclusive breakfast. A grand old building and good el Centro location.

Absolutely one of the best hotels in Cuenca. Very nice rooms with a view over the river and the lower part of the city. Location of this hotel is perfect on Calle larga

We went here for lunch, we were told that this a nice place to eat. We were not disappointed, the service was excellent he table was just the right size. We sat by the window where we had a nice view of the trees, the traffic noise was acceptable and not constant. The ambiance of the restaurant was very nice and the menu was quite extensive. All of our choices were received well except for one desert that was not a expected, but it did not go to waste. The bathrooms are worth look nice stained glass windows. Definitely a place to return for nice surroundings food and conversation, do not let the price put you off.

Vegetarian restaurant
Govinda's Vegetariano & Vegano is a delightful vegan restaurant in Cuenca that offers delicious, healthy, and filling food at great prices. The menu features a variety of vegan options including curried vegetables and vegetarian paella. Whether you opt for the almuerzos (blue plates) or choose a la carte, there are plenty of choices to satisfy your cravings. The staff is known for their wonderful, friendly, and helpful service which creates a welcoming atmosphere.
Tasty food, good atmosphere. Very good service. Highly recommended. The Plate of the Day (Almocoes days dia?) was huge. Excellent value. The falafel was great. The French fries hot. The apple cinnamon cake to die for. -- Hopefully, one day they will go fully vegan like many other Govindas have in the true spirit of Love for/of All.

We eat upstairs. Very quiet. We ordered off the menu. Next time we will try the standard lunch as it looked as good as our lunch at a lower price.

Nice food & atmosphere ! Big portions and lovely stuff, very kind people! Pet friendly ❤️

Very beautiful! Made with love and not far from the center. Come check it out! Only open until 4pm.
Leon U — Google review
We had lunch there for just 3.50 dollars per person. It was a big portion with soup, a hot plate, some salad and fresh juice which was really tasty! If you like vegetarian food you should definitely check this out. The restaurant is also cozy but they only speak spanish.
Franz M — Google review
Food: Great burgers and the almuerzo is okey! The Italian meny is not so good. Lasagne was more like a soup with pasta. Place: Clean and nice, with some good design and music! Price: Medium range, I feel they have good ratio for value/price. Yes I recommend to visit this place!
Hedy M — Google review
Rice was undercooked. No dressing for vegetables. Soup was bland. The chocolate dessert on the other hand was delicious. It is a nice atmosphere, especially if you get to sit on the balcony overlooking the street.

Restaurant
Fina's Arepas y Empanadas is a must-visit spot for vegetarians in Cuenca. Located near Remigio Crespo, this place offers a wide variety of meatless options that are absolutely delicious. While not exclusively vegetarian, the menu boasts numerous mouthwatering choices for non-meat eaters. The Reina Pepiada is particularly impressive in size and flavor, offering a creamy and generous filling that will leave you satisfied. Priced at $5.
After seeing a post from a friend on FB about this place, we headed over the next day. This was the first time we have ever eaten arepas, so I guess we are now spoiled since everyone says these are the best! We were amazed at the size of them! We asked for forks because I couldn't get my mouth around mine. I ordered the Reina Pepiada since others had raved about it, and my husband ordered one with black beans, fresh cheese and avocado (I think it was called the Camino.) We both loved our food which was served with three different sauces. We also ordered 4 empanadas to go--there were so many enticing choices on the menu we couldn't decide! We'll definitely be back soon. The arepas ranged in price from $2.00 to $5.00 and you can add ingredients for 25C. I added fried plantain to mine--it was super!
Leah B — Google review
I traveled from Florida, USA with this place in mind for my first night in town. The Arepas are my favorite and the green sauce was awesome. The orange sauce was too spicy for me but others who like spicey sauces would enjoy it. I highly recommend this place for the best Arepas.
Jackie L — Google review
Arepas on steroids! Packed with goodies. In our case one was filled with black beans, pulled beef, maduros and cheese and the other was loaded with avocado, cheese, and chorizo and our arepa shells were perfect. Crispy, slightly crunchy but chewy inside, they were also thin enough that we weren’t overwhelmed with the shell and unable to appreciate the filling. This is a relatively new place, bright, cheerful and just right for a place to stop into and enjoy a quick glass of juice or a fruit smoothie (batido—juice shaken with milk). Or try a bottle of something different. Their Malta (a sort of malted soda, very slightly carbonated) is highly recommended.
Reginald W — Google review
Good inexpensive food. I had the pabellon arepa. It was delicious and huge. It's supposed to be eaten like a sandwich but I needed a spoon to finish it off my plate.
Don M — Google review
One of my favorite places to eat in the whole world. Pure magic. I give it a million stars.
Meghan W — Google review
Best arepas of all the Ecuador 🫓 Surface is super crusty, the filling is GREAT! Both quantity and quality applies here.
Rommel R — Google review
Love the arepas here. Went once and had to come back again for more.
Ashley T — Google review
Wow. That's as honest as I can get. We were wowed. First by the sheer size of our Reina Pepiada. Trying to get our mouth open wide enough was a challenge, trying to put it down once we tasted that delicious Arepa was the second more daunting challenge. Simply delicious, creamy, generous and lovely to the last bite. At $5.00 it absolutely is one great find for budget minded travelers, students and people who know great food shouldn't break the bank. For us the clean little shop is a treasure. A long time expat chastised us when we admitted we hadn't been to Fina's after we raved about our love of Arepas and told him about our ongoing quest to find great street food in Cuenca that simply delivered more. Well here it is people, this is the place. We were hungry when we arrived and grinning like Cheshire cats when we left. Unassuming, even humble, Fina's is a new favorite. Frankly we believe great food is part of what immigrants bring to a new city and host country. it's a gift immigrants to their new home and Cuenca's food culture, diversity and evolution desperately needs an infusion of other South American cuisines to flourish. I would say that my favorite sauce was the chopped veggies/chilies in a vinegar dressing. The others were good, but we both agreed we would skip the other two sauces and ask for more of the perfect vinegar based sauce. Nothing, I mean nothing compares to having your every expectation exceeded. These guys got it right, no not right perfect! The place is small, clean and located right off Remigio Crespo. I kinda hate giving them such high praise, because this level of perfection is born our of humble food being delivered at great prices. I mean do these people know how good this is? We are planning our return and both agree that even takeout warmed in a cast iron pan to form a bit of a crust will absolutely work for us. Oh and extra salsa please!

Salatim Falafel is a delightful addition to the international cuisine scene, offering fresh and flavorful Mediterranean food with excellent vegetarian options. The restaurant provides an idyllic place to relax and enjoy a variety of dishes such as tabouli salad, hummus, falafel, shawarma, and crispy chicken hummus wrap. With a great atmosphere and friendly staff, it's an ideal spot for those looking for healthy and delicious options.
A delightful addition to the international Cuisine scene with excellent vegetarian options and an idyllic place to relax while soaking up some sun and enjoying fresh, flavorful Mediterranean food. Salatim has now moved to an indoor/outdoor location and, based on two more visits, continues with the same quality of excellent food. Highly recommended!

We were at Wayre Plaza for an event when we came across this restaurant and decided to give it a try. We ordered the Falafel with French fries, which came beautifully layered with hummus, crispy fries, five falafel pieces, and a drizzle of sauces on top. The dish was tasty, though a bit on the bland side—something we’ve noticed is common in Ecuador, where local food often leans mild and dry. That said, we both enjoyed it and found it satisfying.
Ramesh S — Google review
This review applies to the store in the Wayra Plaza. Food is healthy, BUT do not expect something delicious. I was disappointed since I was expecting to have a tasty shawarma. Instead, I got a wrap which flavor was mediocre. You can get tastier food in La Calle Larga for half the price, and that why I am submitting this review to warn people specially if they are looking for a healthy option that tastes well.
L F — Google review
Delicious schwarma, fresh baked pitas, amazing selection of salads and picked veggies.im not a falafel guy, but the ladies at the next table made short work of an order. The babaganous and hummus were tasty and the chicken was Perfecto. Very cool wooden utensils.
Dave R — Google review
Great atmosphere. Outside seating too. Clean. Nicely decorated. Very friendly staff. Fast service even with food made to order. Loaded fries are small and overpriced. Crispy chicken hummus wrap is huge and delicious. Potatoes in potato salad were undercooked and a little bitter. Mora and strawberry juice was delicious. French fries are over seasoned. Definitely would return and try the baklava ice cream.
Stacie W — Google review
I've been there 3 times and the food is so so for me. It's not the best, but it's a nice stop off from super maximum.

Nestled within the elegant Hotel Oro Verde on Ordonez Lasso, Gourmet Deli offers a delightful escape for those craving upscale take-out salads reminiscent of North American and European styles. With prices around $5-$6, it’s an ideal spot to enjoy your meal in a serene atmosphere. The deli has recently undergone stunning renovations, creating a beautiful and tranquil environment that complements the hotel’s charm. Very disappointed at Gourmet Deli. This place used to be my favorite place to eat lunch. However, this year they’ve been serving a very poor quality food and on top of that I get my food most of the time cold. The amount and food presentation has turned into a joke. Let’s not even talk about the Inattentive staff. It’s a shame. I hope they address this issue promptly.
