1Amphawa Floating Market

Floating market
Amphawa Floating Market is a well-known water market where visitors can find a variety of local seafood dishes prepared in traditional wooden boats. In addition to the seafood, there are numerous other food vendors offering a wide selection of delicious treats.
A very famous floating market on the Maeklong River. I thought the food was good and reasonably priced, but my Thai friend who went with me said that everything there has gotten a lot more expensive. Boat tours and homestays are popular.
K S — Google review
Sightseeing spot for dat trip from Bangkok you will meet the shops for local foods along the river The price is very reasonable, lots of old and rare food stuffs and you can help buying from the locals too. Dont forget to try coconut and palm juice called Nam Tan Sod, you can take a boat trip to visit 5 temples for only 50 THB and sure you will gain a lot of experience and impression like me
Bikka U — Google review
This market was very disappointing. There weren’t many vendors on boats, and most of it was inside—hot, sticky, and full of flies. We expected it to be much bigger. We rode motorbike from Bangkok to see it, but it wasn’t worth the trip. The boat ride just circles around the river, and we even saw a few boats broken down. The food didn’t look appetizing either. Overall, we wouldn’t recommend this market.
Shaifa H — Google review
It is a cool place to walk around and shop. You can get in the boat and go on a little tour and you can spot fireflies at night (their population has been depleting though so it's upto your luck if you're going to see one or not). There's a lot of snack and food stalls and stores around BUT I wouldn't really recommend going for a full meal. The food around here isn't really the best. It's more of a shop stop.
The S — Google review
We visited Amphawa Floating Market in the afternoon, and although it is more famous for its evening vibes, we still enjoyed the experience. The market has a local charm with stalls lined along the canal selling snacks, drinks, seafood, and souvenirs. Not all shops were open yet because it gets busier later in the day, but there was still plenty to explore. We enjoyed walking along the riverside, browsing the stalls, and soaking in the relaxing atmosphere without the usual evening crowds. You can also take a short boat ride to see more of the canal area, which adds to the floating market experience. Overall, even in the afternoon, Amphawa offers a cultural and enjoyable stop, especially if you prefer avoiding heavy crowds and want a more leisurely visit. 🌤️🛶✨

Day 2: Road Trip Amphawa Floating Market Thailand Awesome place however best to come on a Saturday & Sunday because more shops are open. Still cool as ! #roadtrip #thailand #samuiexplorer #amphawafloatingmarket
Samui E — Google review
Parking? Oh yes—plenty of it! Inside and outside the temple, because Buddha believes in convenience. Only 30–40 baht to leave your chariot there and strut a short distance to the market like a local hero. The market? A paradise of snacks and souvenirs. And guess what? The prices won’t make your wallet cry like they do for unsuspecting tourists—finally, justice! The vibe? Absolutely charming. Think cozy canal-side house, but with more noodles and fewer mosquitos (okay, maybe a few mosquitos—it's authentic, alright?). Now, there was this one restaurant we walked by. The staff stared deep into our souls and practically telepathically said, “Sit here or never know peace.” So naturally, we kept walking in pure petty defiance. Fast forward: we landed at the last restaurant. And oh boy, jackpot. The view? Chef’s kiss. At 6:30, fireflies appeared like nature’s version of fairy lights. The sunset? Straight out of a romance movie. The sky? Instagram couldn’t handle it. And the fireflies? Sparkling like someone spilled Christmas all over the river. 10/10 would ignore pushy restaurants again.
Harvey C — Google review
Had beautiful experience with Amphawa floating market. We walk around, shopping and eating. Authentic thai food with Authentic market experience. Night time we pay for a boat ride to see fireflies, it was raining season so the whole tree was filled with them like a christmas lights. One even flew around us in a boat on my shoulder. We didn't stay the night but it was 9 out of 10. Minus 1 point for the toilet, we always had to pay 5 bahts for every toilet visit.

Seafood restaurant
Pawat Somtum Seafood is a popular restaurant in Samut Songkhram known for its fiery Isaan dishes and signature charcoal chicken. The menu offers a variety of delicious options, including crab fried rice, grilled chicken leg, and creamy scallops. The restaurant provides air-conditioned seating for a comfortable dining experience. It's highly recommended by locals and Thai tourists for its authentic Thai cuisine. Dishes like Gaiyaan and soup pratu are particularly praised for their delicious flavors.
This is by far my best Thai restaurant. This restaurant is not for tourist. I see most is guests are local or Thai tourists from other provinces. I ordered 5 dishes for 4 family members and all enjoyed food. For roast muscle, I’ve never seen such a big muscle. Tom yum kung is also real stuff. Quite tasty. We ordered fried rice to finish dinner and that was quite good as well. I’ve never tasted such a good Thai seafood in California. Thumbs up for fast service as well. Outside seating is nice as well but waiter didn’t speak English and I didn’t know it has air conditioning inside. With $40 usd, entire family member left with full stomach work happy feeling.
Jinsoo K — Google review
Not recommended. Totally overpriced for worse than mediocre quality of food. Grilled chicken is dry. Scallops in garlic butter is tiny; you pay approx. 15 bht for finger nail sized scallops. Charges 15 bht for air-conditioned room per person. Find another place.
Zae K — Google review
It is relatively expensive in the same area. No air conditioning. We ordered shrimp (sadly only M size) steam crab and butter scallops. Scallops are small, taste ok. Crab is good. Shrimp is just average, we had one gone bad, and the staff changed one for us. Overall 1550 bat spent, but I will recommend visitor to try some other place.
Monkey C — Google review
I recommend Gaiyaan and soup pratu . These are very delicious. Somtam is normal or less average.
Naohiro N — Google review
Ordered their fish, papaya salad and seafood palette but they didn’t deliver seafood palette. The fish was very fresh and good! Papaya salad was nice too. Ambience was ok, don’t mind gg back again
Annie G — Google review
The food at this restaurant is absolutely delicious! I ordered crab fried rice, which is soft, fragrant, and not greasy—arguably the best fried rice I’ve had in Thailand. The grilled chicken leg, a signature dish here, is also quite tasty. The creamy scallops are fresh, and the fact that the restaurant has air-conditioned seating means you can enjoy your meal without losing your appetite in the hot weather. Overall, it’s a highly recommended restaurant to visit.
Kevin Y — Google review
If you want to eat sea food ..it's the place.. quite popular too.. service is fast...get freshly roasted prawns.. sniper.. chicken n many more stuff.. multiple varieties of noodles..taste is Thai...Indians may not like it..but you can order noodles veg or with shrimp or chicken..don't go to air-conditioned part as you have to pay 15 Baht per head extra which they will not tell you beforehand

Nestled in the vibrant Amphawa Floating Market area, 83 KOFF is a charming minimalist cafe that invites you to unwind by the canal. Here, you can savor rich and aromatic coffee while indulging in delicious cookies as you watch the gentle flow of water. The cafe boasts an impressive selection of locally sourced beans, ensuring every sip is a delight. Although prices are slightly higher than nearby cafes, the quality of coffee and overall experience make it worthwhile.
The atmosphere of the shop is quite good, with a wide variety of coffee options to suit different preferences. The staff is friendly, providing excellent service and helpful recommendations. Overall, I would say it's a great experience.

Rustic cafe shop located in Amphawa floating market… nice seating arrangement facing the river… drinks priced reasonably & tastes good… worth trying if you are visiting Floating market

Great little place and some seating area. Cookies and drinks were tasty. Very friendly staff. The style of the place was nice also. Would go again. Prices were good also
Dharmendra B — Google review
Nice and modern vibes. Honey latte was good with pretty strong coffee kick, but cookies and croissant were a let down, despite the really long wait time for the croissant to be heated up. Overall, not a bad place to chill with good vibey music with some coffee, but would give the pastries and cookies a miss
Jia N — Google review
Beautiful shop, good coffee, including some signature menu items. Price is a little more than the other coffee shops round here (70-80 baht rather than 30-40 baht) but it's better coffee and a nicer experience. Staff very friendly too.

deep taste of cold brew with choco croissant is my choice!

Although homemade cookies are four different flavors, the chocolate taste is overpowering it’s own flavor. 1 for 85, 4 for 300 isn’t worth it.

Great food. Just delicious. Green curry with coconut shoot is very nice. We ordered like 6-7 dishes for four people. All are superb. Price is reasonable. Coconut ice cream is one of the best we've ever tried. Parking is limited so try to be there early. Service is nice.
Sue R — Google review
The shop is located not far from Amphawa floating market. The front of the shop overlooks the Mae Klong River. Food prices start at 100 baht. The taste is delicious and not too expensive.
X T — Google review
Situated amongst the Mekong river this traditional Thai restaurant offers more than food alone. It gives a platform to local artists, the venue itself is decorated with art. We had Pakropong (sea bass) wrap, the fish was professionally filleted, the taste was excellent. As a second dish we had sour curry soup with vegetable omelet. All delicious and for a very democratic price of 780 Baht.
Marc L — Google review
The staff were very friendly and attentive. When we arrived we were informed that we had a little 2 hours before the kitchen closes and I suppose the restaurant too. We were fine with this. Ordered a beer and a fruit mix drink was was delish. Had chicken in Thai basil and grilled fish. the fish was amazing first time ordering it. Love the decor and a had a nice vibe. Prices was also a little pricey side but for a place like this was expected and well worth it IMO.
Kwok C — Google review
I had the chance to visit this restaurant and while I had some highlights, there were certain aspects that could be better. The Duck Soup was a delightful treat - a shining star on the menu that I would wholeheartedly recommend. The Litisch Vodka and Leo Beer served were both commendable, with the beer being served refreshingly cold, which I appreciated. The continuous service of ice-cold water was a thoughtful touch and made the experience much more comfortable, especially during these hot summer days. I was a bit disappointed by the Cashew Salad - it seemed to predominantly consist of nuts. We were expecting a more complex dish with a mix of flavors and ingredients. Similarly, the Chicken Cashew was alright, but it didn't stand out in any special way. One of the key challenges was the language barrier with the waitstaff who were unable to communicate in English, which made the dining experience slightly complicated. The place was bustling with customers, which is usually a positive sign. And the option for outdoor seating was a plus. However, the arrival of a massive van in the midst of our dining experience was quite disruptive, which was rather unexpected. In conclusion, while there were enjoyable moments and some nice touches, there are areas where the restaurant could improve. I'm giving this establishment a three-star rating, with the hope that they will take these comments on board to enhance their overall customer experience. Cash only below 1000Bath
Jan P — Google review
Nice place to have lunch here after the trip to the floating markets nearby. We had their grilled giant king River prawns, fried fish and clear tomyum soup. The staff was very kind to let us know the price of the prawns before they confirmed the order (2 prawns - 1200+ baht), it was delicious. The fried fish however was a bit over cooked and dry. This place is mostly visited by the locals, not over crowded by tourists.

Noodle shop
When in Amphawa, don't miss out on trying the famous Mooyang Katisod. The friendly owners speak English fluently and offer a unique and delicious dining experience. The noodles are particularly delightful, and there's convenient parking available as well. It's a must-visit for anyone exploring the area.
It was our first visit. The food, service, and atmosphere were all satisfactory. There is parking space for 6-7 cars next to road in front of the shop. The restaurant is also located next to a small stream. There are no air-conditioned room, but have many fans inside the room and on the tables next to the stream, so it was not that hot. All menu items, including the recommended coconut noodles, rice bowls, and grilled pork yam salad, are seasoned well and delicious. It was the weekend, so there were a lot of tourist customers, but serving time was quick, too. After eating, you can have fun at the Japanese-style archery range right next to it. We will surely visit again and highly recommend stopping by if you visit Amphawa Market na krup~!😊

The food : I ate noodle and Padthai. It was too sweet even my brother usually love eating sweet. But the pork was really good I like it. The surroundings : I like the song and the decorations. But one thing that needs to change is the Label in front of the place.I can rarely see the label it was so tiny.So let make it bigger or even make some photos of your BEST SELLER dish. This is all I can recommend from my point of view (prospect's view). I want to help other people.
