Few night ago we decided to try Le Bon Ton and we can confirm it is a great place to come with friends for a enjoyable night out. Food is prepared well, simple but taste good, Smokey "Everything" as you would expect!!!. Service is really friendly and whole atmosphere is quite relaxed....looks like typical Pub setting and lot of space to sit with larger groups too, different areas and courtyard is great as well We would recommend. Worth visiting, definitively!!! Jana & Boris

Was here for a friend's birthday and got the Smokers Lot to share. Also tried the pork ribs, side salad, chips and desserts. Everything tasted great! Only complaints would be that the chicken portion was a bit small and couldn't be shared easily amongst the group of us. Drinks were also a little pricey. $11 for non alcoholic peach tea. And the pork ribs used the same sauce as the one in the share platter. Would've preferred more variety there. Think we got the green goddess slaw which was great. Would've also liked some sauerkraut with the pickles.. Desserts were the brownie and key lime pie. I loved the brownie and both of the ice cream flavours. Overall it was a great find with affordable prices. Can't wait to come back and try more from their menu!

I had to try their smoked meats with a pint of my favourite cider and I felt it was worth it. I ordered the smoked chicken and my only feedback would be to add more spice and make it juicier. Apart from that the portion was filling for me and the staff were quick to put the orders out. I did enjoy the intentional rusty vibe, I wish I had a cowboy hat on! They do have happy hour between 4-6pm, so if you're in the area then check them out maybe.

Had a great night here with friends a week or so ago. Was sold on the promise of American bbq meats. Was not disappointed. Everyone enjoyed the night. Food was great. All staff very helpful and friendly. Great atmosphere, a lot seating to choose from. Lightning a bit dim, I liked it others had to get their phones out to see the menu. Music was also a nice accompaniment. Everyone enjoyed very much, will go again. A lot of drinks to choose from. The hurricane was appreciated. Thanks for a great evening.

I went here for lunch and had the Southern Chicken Fried Sandwhich. I got it in the combo which meant it came with the burger/sandwich and chips for under 16 dollars - very reasonably priced. The food itself was really good - it came out fast, the chips were really crunchy and had a ton of flavour, the sandwich bun was very soft, and the Chicken itself was very fresh, crispy, and tasty. In terms of the interior, this place has a very Gothic vibe, lots of dark colours, old timber, and melted candles. I visited at lunch on a weekday where it was very quiet - good for me. Overall, a good experience and I will be back.

Some of the most fabulous brisket I’ve ever.m had - and I’ve had a lot!! So tender and moist. Absolutely loved everything. The atmosphere is great and staff were super helpful.

Went to Le Bon Ton for dinner -I’d been years ago and really enjoyed it, but this visit was disappointing. The quality of the food has dropped significantly; the meats were dry, lacked smokiness & the portions were quite small for the price. All the condiments that used to be available on the table were gone, so we had to keep asking staff for the basics. Service was fast, but it was hard to get anyone’s attention once seated. The dessert menu has been pared back too; I really missed the banana cream pie, which was a highlight on previous visits. The atmosphere also felt less cosy and welcoming. The dining space was filled with smoke and an overpowering carbon monoxide smell, which made the experience pretty unpleasant overall.

Lovely spot for a date night or to go play some pool, atmosphere was very nice and service great, even too fast! I was looking forward to their burgers because of a friend recommendation. We tried the beef burger which I found it very dry and below average, while I enjoyed quite much the chicken one, very tasty. My absolute favorite were the poutine fries though, would be back just for those. I was rather surprised they have only wood cutlery and no plates at all, which rendered rather hard to share as burgers are served in the paper containers. Overall it wasn’t bad but neither as I expected. May go back to a redeem for their burgers and perhaps to spend a little more time in their nice indoor area.

Amazing food and great vibes. This place truly is a hidden gem! The burgers and chicken tenders were delicious, and I highly recommend trying the tenders and the beyond burger (great texture and tasted like a beef burger). We will definitely be back for more next time we're in Melbourne!

A tucked away place that felt like back home. We made the right decision by ordering three 'mains' to share between the two of us, and even then I was debating adding on their poutine and pie of the day. I'm still salivating and wanting more because the burger bun was perfect and the chicken strips were juicy and the drinks came as quick as we ordered them. The pool table was free to play on a Monday night and the music fit the vibe. Sit by the fire, the bar, the back room, or the two patios outside for whatever you're after. I loved it.

Hands down this double cheeseburger is the best burger I have had!! Juicy, soft, crispy, all the right textures and all the right flavours. Came by today and can't wait to be back!!

I come here quite often and have always loved it (the chicken is bangin). But the last time the short curly haired woman was so incredibly rude . Not only did I see her talking poorly to staff , she also refused to let us keep the heater on - even though it was late in the evening . It was only me and my 4 friends in the area and I was freezing . She marched over , turned it off and told us it was too warm for the heater , when I said I was cold she told me to move inside, it’s not all about me , and other people are wearing T-shirts . There was literally no other people in the area (see photo) . The group of 4 of us ended up leaving after our drink finished instead of staying for a few more as planned . Why be so awful ? How expensive is gas ? This is my friends local spot (goes a couple of times a week) and said she’s been rude to his mates other occasions too…. It’s a real vibe ruiner for such a cool spot .

Came for the first time at 12noon on a Sunday. Very busy not many seat available. Was lucky to get a table outside. We anticipated a bit of a wait for our meals, as they had actually run out of table numbers. Someone had to come to our table to confirm the ice coffee order. It came out, looked a bit ordinary, but tasted ok. Waited approximately 35 to 40 minutes for our food. Both meals were great, fish burrito bowl and the double cheeseburger, very tasty. We didn't try the donuts, but they looked fantastic. We would definitely come back.

Hidden spot with such chill vibes!!! They have an outdoor sitting area as well… perfect for those sunny days coming up!!! Everything was delicious! From the burgers to burritos! But I just say I would come back for their fitters and donuts!! I love that they have such a wide variety of fritters which u probs can’t find anywhere else!

Honest and unbiased review, I saw this place pop up on tiktok saying had better burgers than charrd without the wait. It was a good burger and great crispy chips, I got a Double cheeseburger it was a clean but slightly overcooked, it's not exactly charrd flavour although I can see how it would be compared to that, it was enjoyable and would definitely come backt o try the chicken next time. Now is it better than charrd.. they are two different types of burgers, Juanitas has a different distinct flavour, and trust me I would rather wait 10 mins for a burder rather than 2 hours. Charrd is a perfect flavour explosion, but Juanitas is nice.

The space has a warm, comfy, 70’s retro vibe with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The menu is stripped-back and no-fuss, simple in choice but definitely not in flavour. Honestly, it’s refreshing not to be overwhelmed with options! 🤗 ⭐ Double Cheeseburger – grass-fed brisket patties, perfectly caramelised, in their own house-made buns. We added hot peppers for an extra kick. You probably don’t need the double, these patties are a great size! One of the tastiest burgers ive ever had.

If I could give this place 10 stars I would! This was an impromptu visit before I had to rush to the airport. The chicken burger was juicy and delicious, while the fries tasted fresh and so crispy - taste was on point! Plus the staff were incredibly nice! To top an already impressive experience off, I had absentmindedly left a recyclable bag at the restaurant and msged them on ig letting them know they could pass it on to one of the staff or someone else. To my surprise, they offered to mail it back to me all the way in Perth (and have!). I am so so thankful - they did not have to do this for me and deserve all the recognition and goodness in the world for it. Thank you so much 😊

Chip were amazing! ask for extra of the seasoning they put on. Delicious chicken, skin, and stuffing. Scalloped potatoes were ok little heavy on the garlic Gravy was mid The rizogalo(rice pudding ) is probably the best I have had so far. You could literally feel the individual grains which I really liked.

Chicken is dry as the dessert and it's not charcoal it's a rotisserie / might as well got to coles ... and the salad what is this no oil or seasoning ... put some effort in

As this place has grown or changed over the last 12?? Years I've know it, so too have the prices. The chips are always worthy of a stop in, as are other items, the names of which escape me. It's probably more of a mid range charcoalsl chicken shop, but a good one. Exceedingly popular with local and visitors alike, I'm glad the shop holds more people and the waiting space has increased. The ordering process seems to be a little more streamlined, but it still gets busy, sometimes packed, very easily. Slightly heading towards too expensive but just on the borderline.

Perfect feast for that post gym hunger. Reasonable prices, nice side salads. There are also roast potatoes and hot veggies. It’s another great chook shop that deserves five stars!

I have tried thousands of HSP styles but their atomic bomb surprised me a lot! I was enjoying every second of eating it. Thanks to their kind staff and super tasty bomb! Love it

Really very super tasty. The contrast with roast chicken from across the road at Piedmontes is stark - the Piedmonte's chicken is scrawny and bland in comparison. The chips are also super tasty, and there is a reasonably extensive (for a place of this type) salad bar.

First of all, I'd like to thank the staff for their warm welcome and excellent service. I was excited to find halal Nashville chicken in Melbourne. However, the experience fell a bit short of my expectations—but that doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy the food. I tried the tenders with Traveller Spice (mild). The flavour was decent, but the breading could be crispier. I’d rate it 6/10. I also recommend getting ranch sauce on the side for dipping. I wouldn’t recommend the coleslaw, as it wasn’t to my taste. I prefer a sweeter version, whereas this one was quite the opposite. Rating: 2/10. The buffalo burger was the highlight of the night—the sauce, cheese, and overall flavour were deliciously messy. Rating: 8/10. Overall, the experience wasn’t bad, just not quite what I expected. However, I’d love to visit again and try different menu items. Second visit on 12th of Feb 25, got all good stuff deal $60 for two, the amount is good but I believe the breading could be better. The service was slower this time than the first visit.

My friends and I came here for the first time, and the staff were super friendly and provided great service. We ordered the Belles Bucket with the Traveller flavor — it had a nice, balanced taste, not too spicy, and gave off a real American-style fried chicken vibe. I really liked the pickles on the side — they went perfectly to cut through the richness. The side dishes like salad, fries, mashed potatoes and corn cheese were the best! My girlfriend struggled to pick a place to eat at for atleast an hour, my lord am i glad it landed at Belles. As soon as i walked into the establishment i was amazed by the decor and music. Really felt like i was taken to a totally different timezone, it was amazing and really felt unique, absolutely nailed it. The food we got was great aswell, the chicken was done great and was delicious especially with the sauce. Staff were really fast and didnt have to wait at all pretty much. I cannot suggest this place enough, just do yourself a damn favour and go to Belles. PS can you send me merch?

We came here for a date night and it was so good we brought our friends back a few weeks later! The chicken is amazing (the nashville tenders are the best) and we LOVED the mac n cheese. The interior is really cool too and gives an American diner style of eating. Definitely will be coming back again. :)

Vibes are immaculate. Food was delicious. I love that they have a small menu because you don’t have to waste time trying to decide what to get. Went in with my mum & sister & we all walked out happy. Burgers were 10/10!!!! Best burgers I’ve had in a long while. But, the wings that we ordered in the spice level which was the 3rd option (can’t remember which one) felt very unseasoned. It didn’t taste like anything at all, and that was a bit disappointing. The fries, however, were so good! Crinkle cut, crispy, soft all at the same time. Loved them. Waiting time was about 7 minutes. And nobody even looked our way at the waiting area the whole time. Would have appreciated a bit of acknowledgement, but considering the fact that only one attendant was rushing to and from tables, it was understandable i guess. I’d definitely go again for the fries and burgers!

A local friend brought us here for lunch. First impressions are that it has a nice rustic and vintage feel with lots of vintage decor plastering the walls. When we walked in, we were kinda confused on how to order since no one greeted us or anything, in the end we sat at a random table and walked to the counter to place our orders. We ordered a whole bird, Sonny Burgers and both the Load Em Up Fries and Guacamole Cheese Fries. And it took really long for our orders to arrive . To start off with what I did not like, it was the Burger, the fried chicken meat was decent but the batter and meat lacked good flavour, all I could taste was overpowering one dimensional spiciness. I could not taste the egg mayo at all too. Then we had the Load Em Up Fries that were basically gravy on fries. The gravy made the fries soft and mushy which I can see some people liking but it is not really my thing, though the gravy was quite flavourful. My favourite of the two we ordered was the Guacamole Cheese Fries, the taste of guac and the fries went quite well together but was not mind blowing. Lastly, I ate some of the Fried Chicken, it was quite tender and juicy but as with the same complaints as the meat in the burger, the flavours were lacking. All in all, this is a decent fried chicken place but I don’t think I would return to eat it again. I have eaten better fried chicken.

The best burger 🍔 in Melbourne. You can’t miss the house special Juicy Lucy Burger, a juicy two patties burger that you will remember. Also the spicy chicken wings are awesome…all of the above paired with great beer. 🍺 We will be back for sure

Funky pub food at its best. We ordered the cheeseburger (excellent) and the peach fried chicken burger which was super tasty but unruly to eat. The Mac n cheese would have been excellent if it wasn’t lacking a little salt.

Nice chicken place! Every Wednesday is chicken day, we can enjoy 1 kg chicken wings with $20. Spicy seasoning was really spicy , I should’ve chosen regular 😂 but many choose of beers were nice. Thanks!

Service was quick. Charcoal chicken taste great, garlic dip was second to none, chips was crispy. However, the lettuce in fattoush salad was a bit sad, it was already rusty. I mean, it's still safe to eat but people would expect fresh ingredients.

My husband and myself always pass EL Jannah so we decided to try it out . I got the 1/4 chicken meal the chicken was hot and juicy. My fries were hot and cooked well... My husband got the 6 fried wings and of course, I had to try one too. lol 😆 they were juicy and moist, but also nice and crispy 👌🏼 hope one day you'll offer hot n spicy wings... the service was great.. We were in the restaurant at 12:30 so it was quite busy but we still got great service the inside was clean... We'll definitely be back to try other items...

I got the 1/4 chicken and chips, was the tiniest 1/4 chicken i have ever seen!! My friend got a wrap with chips and drink. It came without the chips. We had to ask a couple of times where they were. Very expensive for what we got! Won't be un a hurry to go back, and won't be recommending to anyone

First time trying El jannah. We ordered our food, went to pick it up, very dissapointing everything was cold as. Atleast have so.e manners and keep the food in the warmer untill the customers co.es to pick it up, you know your food is not cheap, its expensive. So we didnt pay to have cold dinner

Had a family meal take away from here. Taste was good but it's also expensive. The sitting area was clean, and the food was handed over without delay. The Self order process is also easy.

Enjoyable lunch on a Monday so it was not busy at all. Had the pickle and mustard chicken burger which was great, greasy and tasty. Prices are average, service was good and it’s generally a nice place. Note it’s just chicken here, no beef burgers. Tough competition for burgers in the immediate travel, overall I recommend a visit here.

Located in a convenient location, FAT houses all your fried food classics with a somewhat Southern American twang (yeehaw). Nothing overtly revolutionary about the menu or the products, but hits right if you’re craving something fatty. The chips are bit on the average side, the chicken is better than KFC. The restaurant itself is dimly lit.

The food at Fried and Tasty (F.A.T.) is simply superb. Chicken galore in every different style is on the menu. I opted for the Waffles and a side of Fries and they were spectacular.

The fries comed with different combinations mine is with mayo and chili’s on the top. Everything is ordered separately but keep in mind the fries sizes are massive. parking on the street. worth every dollar. Good for families and large groups

F.A.T was one of the first American-style fried chicken specialists in Melbourne and still one of the better ones I’ve tried. The Chicken Cheese burger always hit well — chicken was juicy and not dry, though sometimes the crispiness wasn’t consistent. Still, the portions were huge compared to most places. The tenders/chicken bites were okay — a bit on the dry side, but would’ve been much better with a dipping sauce. The gravy chips were elite though — proper comfort food, almost poutine-level, and paired perfectly with the fried chicken.

Delicious Chicken and Waffles. Travelled from the south east up to Brunswick because it has been recommended and definitely worth the trip. Big servicing sizes and good quality chicken with fresh waffles.

The chicken is crunchy, juicy and flavourful. I’ve had both the original and the spicy and WOW. Don’t let the original fool you. It packs massive mouthfuls of flavour, from the breading to the juices it’s exactly what you’d want in a fried chicken. The sauce is amazing, tangy with a bit of sweetness, pairs perfectly with chicken and chips alike. Music choice inside is very on brand, though the high ceilings and concrete aesthetic make it quite loud even when half the tables are full. Be advised these are American sized portions! Definitely would recommend this gem!

Smokey Chooks is a top-tier charcoal chicken joint — no frills, no fluff, just seriously good food. It’s a classic get in, get out kind of place, and they do it right. When I visited, they were busy prepping a heap of catering orders, so there was a limit on chicken per customer and a bit of a wait — but fair enough, I came just as they opened. The charcoal chicken itself was the highlight — super juicy, moist, and flavourful, with barely any dry spots. The marinade was just right — bold enough to stand out without overpowering the natural flavour of the meat. The chips were absolutely elite — some of the best I’ve had. Not sure what the seasoning is (tasted like a punchy chicken salt blend), but it was spot on. Also tried the dim sims, which were surprisingly fresh and way better than what you’d get at your typical hot food bar. The potato scallop/potato bake was also a standout — fresh, not overly sauced, and had a great neutral base that balanced the meal. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Smokey chooks is the absolute best chicken and chips you will ever eat!!! We’ve been regular customers for a while now and it’s always 10/10. I don’t know how they make the chicken so tasty and the seasoning on the crispy golden chips is the best. The service is fantastic and they’re extremely well priced! Highly recommend!! (Just make sure to call up and order, as they can sell out!)

I went here mostly out of curiosity because I’ve heard a lot of people say this was the best charcoal chicken in Melbourne. I have to say they are right, even on par with Clem’s in Sydney. Chips were perfectly cooked and fresh and just the perfect amount of salt. The chicken was frankly amazing, I got a half and could have eaten a whole one it was just that good. The only criticism I could possibly make is it would be nice if there were more salad/veggie sides on offer. They did have roast veggies (which I plan to try next time) but a potato salad or peas would go down a treat. The owners were incredibly nice and the place is clean as a whistle (rare for a truly top tier chicken shop). So yeah, 5 stars. Definitely will be going again.

Believe the hype, the chicken here is exceptional. I came here on on a Friday night around 5:30pm and ordered a whole chicken with large chips. The boss was very generous with the chips that it was falling out of the paper bag and into the plastic bag. Excellent problem to have. The whole chicken is cut into 8 pieces for your convenience. Excellent seasoning of rosemary, chicken salt and olive oil. But not so oily that the plastic bag and your hands will be overwhelmed.

I’ve been ordering takeaway from Smokey Chooks since I moved to Richmond 3 years ago. It dawned on me that I’m yet to rate how great they are! They helped me cater my son’s birthday and made the whole experience so easy! Guests loved the food (no surprises there). Thanks again!!

Went here today on a whim to get takeaway lunch and it was so tasty! The most delicious seasoning on the chips and marinade on the chicken. Kind and quick service too. Wish they were open more often.

Definitely try the Texas chicken, that was the winner for our group of hungry adults. A nice selection of chicken flavours, salads and sides. Lots of seating and great seating, just watch out for the after school hours as there are a lot of students around taking advantage of the happy hour $2 chips. Overall a lovely experience and tasty meal for individuals to large groups. See the photos attached for a good idea of the assortment of options and the menu as well

Tried this place with the family for lunch. I was a bit disappointed with the quality of the food to be honest. The two chicken schnitzels and chips dishes were average. The chicken very dry and chewey and the chips were also too salty. The large serving of roast vegetables were mushy and not tasty at all and we only ate half. The schntzel meal was okay. You can pick three sides. The portion size was decent but it costs around $24, for a fast food outlet. Not sure if the food is this poor quality all the time, or if I picked a bad day, but for lunch time on a Saturday, i expected better quality food.

First time trying Chargrill Charlie’s Camberwell tonight and I was really impressed! The chicken was so yummy, juicy, and full of flavour, and they have a great selection of sauces and dips to go with it. I was looked after by a young gentleman wearing a bandana (sorry I didn’t catch your name!) who gave top-notch customer service. The atmosphere was great too. I’ll definitely be coming back again!

I got a quarter chicken and chips at Chargrill Chariles (Camberwell) but I could easily ordered the other items like the hamburger because they all look so good. It's in a massive space with plenty of seating to enjoy.

Chips were with minimal salt, serving size was big. Roll wasnt crispy, no sauce inside big chunks of tomato, wasnt worth it.

Quite average for what you pay. In my recent visit I received a tiny portion of protein. For $23, I’m not sure this is good value. Really nice restaurant with friendly staff. The chicken was juicy and flavourful, the fries were fresh and crisp, but would have been good to offer sauce or a type of salt on them to season them. The salad options are epic (will have to come back to try these), and there are many many other options like burgers to choose from. Definitely worth a visit. 🙌🏼

Not the cosiest venue so I’d tend to take away. Great crispy fried chicken though I’d personally prefer them to have thick seasoned batter. Recently tried their carbonara tteok bokki - rice cakes, spam and noodles drenched in rich spicy sauce - it’s now my favourite item off their menu!

One of the best Korean Friend Chicken in Melbourne. I always like the original flavour. They are crunchy and tasty. They will give you the deep fried crispy chicken skin on the side. Love to eat them just with a plain white rice. Highly recommended

One of the several places in CBD that serves Halal Korean Fried Chicken. Do note that ONLY FRESH POULTRY INGREDIENTS are certified HALAL. The Fried Chicken, Seafood Japchae and Beef Bulgogi with Rice is a must-try. The seafood pancake, despite tasting decent, was not worth the price given the quantity. Overall a good atmosphere with excellent service.

The chicken was perfectly cooked and bursting with flavour, while the chips were crunchy on the outside, light and fluffy on the inside, and seasoned to perfection. The freshly made cabbage salad had just the right amount of kick. The fragrant gravy complemented everything beautifully. The atmosphere was cozy, and the staff were incredibly friendly. Be sure to check out the fridge—there are homemade apple pies that looked delicious, which I'll have to try next time. I highly recommend this place for anyone craving delicious chicken and chips—definitely worth a visit! P.S. I totally appreciate the grace and wit of the owners' replies to some of the reviews on here.

great local chicken shop, chicken packed with flavour and still juicy , the chips are also great, crispy but soft in the centre and the seasoning is to die for. super well priced, generous portion on the chips too. the paper the put on the bottom so the box doesn’t get oily is a great touch too

Edit. Prompt response from the owner and a refund. I will try them another night and check the product before it’s bagged. ** Phoned ahead to collect a chicken. Already bagged when I arrived. Opened it at home and it was undercooked with the flesh bloody. And it had charcoal embedded in the skin. Completely inedible. The great service doesn’t make up for the crappy product.

Recently had The Cookshop cater for a function for about 25 people - the whole experience was fantastic. Andrew was on time and managed the presentation of all the food with minimal fuss. He also listened to our requests (ie minimal garlic) and catered in abundance with chicken, pork, salads and rolls - not to mention gravy and salsa verde!! Our experience was so much better than going to a restaurant and all our guests left happy and commenting how amazing all the food was. Many thanks to all at The Cookshop for providing us with a memorable event!!

REVIEW: We chose to dine in and really soak up the ambience at McManos chicken bar. 🍽️ It's not built for dine in service, as we were armed with the task of cutting through 1/2 the chicken with a plastic knife. Luckily, when it got difficult at the bone, it was soft enough to be torn apart. Everything was also presented in plastic tubs. Nonetheless, the plates were durable, and it was nice to see the chips be made fresh on hand. My interest was initially piqued because McManos was crowned best chips in 2019. Unfortunately, the crinkle cut chips are replaced with your standard thick cut fries. They were good with chicken salt, but not as unique as I was hoping for. 🥔🥔 The chicken skin is crispy and immersed with salt and flavour, while the meat itself is juicy. The best part is the stuffing, herby and moist, which is just the way it should be done. On to the sides, the gravy was a little gloopy, but it was better to have than none. Overall, the food was relatively mid, but it has an appealing affordable price tag. Can see why there were so many people lining up and around, keen to get a takeaway box.

Amazing value take away. You will not find better chicken and chips for less anywhere in Melbourne. Particularly the chips, they are amazing! Do not stay for the atmosphere, you will be disappointed, this food is intended for take away.

Nothing special about the chips. It was your average chips cooked well. Chicken was on the dry side .Chicken skin could have had more flavour of some kind but this places redeeming quality was its proper old school stuffing and some top notch gravy . If I am in the area again and craving some chicken and chips I will def try this place again.

Don’t let the old school interior and exterior fool you, this place has been around forever and has the best hot chips in town (as voted in a 2019 Nova100 Poll) made fresh to order and a delicious chicken schnitty roll. When I asked what’s in it, the owner goes “nothing”. Cheese, Mayo, chicken, simple. Perfect schnitzel, soft bun, I personally enjoy mine with more fillings but for what it was, delish.

So we tried the bottomless club brunch on during the weekend. Good: the food were totally delicious and plenty of food Bad: it’s bottomless, even when our party wasn’t a huge drinkers we basically got 2 drinks for the whole session. I would say the venue did not hire enough staff to serve the bookings. Considering there were 2 large groups booked on the day and other tables booked for the bottomless there were 2 staff working only. We waited half an hour for our drinks and staff was nice enough to apologise it’s being delayed but that’s it. We got our drinks basically when our session was almost finish. This is quite poor considering the drinks already didn’t have enough alcohol, but 2 drinks is all we got for bottomless is just terrible. Overall quite disappointed.

This is a beautiful Thai restaurant which serves a vast range of dishes! You can even opt in for a “Feed Me” option where they serve you a range of dishes selected by the chef that day! That’s what we chose that day and we were very pleased with the options! Our favourite was the fried fish and the chicken curry! Lighting inside is quite dim - so the photos aren’t great. Staff is attentive and kind and the atmosphere is pretty good.

Came here with a group after a being recommended a couple of times. You can add me to that list of recommenders. Their Thai fusion dishes are a great people pleaser and everyone left happy. We dined from their feed me menu and each dish had a slight twist on traditional Thai cuisine. My favourites were the green curry snapper and whole fried barramundi. The staff was friendly and very accommodating but I felt they were a little understaffed for the number of groups they had to service. Their people did an amazing job under the circumstances. The venue had decent vibes.

very nice and vibrant restaurant, great vibes, we came during happy hour, $11 wine and $16 spritz, with $5 dumplings. the dumplings are delicious, recommended to go back in a group, great for a date or group of friends. we ordered fresh mango and sticky rice, Thai tea profiteroles, snapper green curry, fat rice noodles, cured kingfish, and beef short ribs. food was delicious.

Dinner with my girlfriends to celebrate a birthday. FOOD: we opted for the Feed Me which the menu doesn’t explain. When we asked the waiter, his only answer was “the quantity of food”. The meal was quite forgettable, flavours didn’t really match other dishes picked for us, the “dumplings” tasted like burnt brownies, the drunken noodles were too salty and tasted like it was made up on the spot, the waiter bringing our food didn’t clearly say what the dish was so we were guessing majority of the night. ATMOSPHERE: Lighting is so terribly red, it made it difficult to read the menu, see the food and take any decent photos without the flash of another phone. Music was soooo random, it didn’t match the vibes of the atmosphere in general. Overall experience, lovely dinner, just wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone looking for good thai food

April 2025 - busy long weekend with MICF on so good that we booked but not many staff on. Good food and yummy cocktails. Good location for the show we go to afterwards. Love this venue! Amazing food and drinks menu with awesome yummy dishes! Cocktails are the best!!! Awesome food and cocktails as always! We had a late night bar menu so it's amazing there is a place open at 11:30 pm for hot food!

This spot always come out as recommended place for a late night meal. Came here on a Saturday and luckily wasn't packed. They serve a whole bunch of meat and the place is nice and vibey. We got the burger and the special of the day which was the french dip. The burger was decent, nothing special, but done right. The french dip is what I enjoyed. The meat was nice and tender and the jus gave it more depth. I enjoyed our meal here and would recommend for late night cravings. It's a bit pricey for the serving size tho.

Enjoyed the experience here. Coeliac safe gluten free options, as long as you don’t have any of the gf bread options. Very fresh tasty Greek salad, lovely chips, friendly staff and fun atmosphere. Generous portions for a very reasonable price. Recommend.

The place is quite basic and lacks ambiance. The food is simple—though I’ll highlight the pastrami sandwich, which was tasty. However, the steak & eggs were disappointing, especially for a meat-focused venue; the dish was underwhelming and poorly presented. For the same price, you can find better options elsewhere easily. It’s fine for a quick snack or casual bite with low expectations or for a meal after a big night out, as mentioned in most reviews. Service is fast and friendly, but there are no restrooms—you need to use the pub next door. It’s clear most regulars are local workers grabbing a simple meal. I ended up here by chance and wouldn’t return or recommend it. At night, it turns into a bar with tapas until 1 a.m., but I’ll leave my comments there.

Tried this place with my boys on the way to the footy Friday night. Was easy to find a seat as we were early. Son had the steak sandwich and the rest of us had the cheeseburger with bacon. Both said was the best they had ever eaten. Chips were brilliant as well. Will definitely be back.

This was my son’s recommendation, after I told him there was nowhere good to eat lunch in the city and that I was heading to Fitzroy for a burger. What a great diner, and what a great recommendation! This simple, clean and vibrant diner brings quick and efficient service, a great menu and fantastic food. I had the simplest item on the menu, the hamburger (no risks taken here). It was one of the best burgers I have ever eaten. Cooked perfectly, full of flavour and with an excellent bun. Every bite was a joy. Mostly shred counter seating inside, but well suited to the venue. Plenty of outdoor dining on the picturesque’Paris’ end of Bourke St. well worth a visit.

Dear Reader, for the love of god, go here! I cannot enough express my emphatic recommendation. I came here late at night with my girlfriend, hoping for a late night snack. Each bite was incomparable. It was a million org*sms. It was a look into the future.  It was like biting in the sun and a million golden rays comforting the world. It was only a cheeseburger and I will be dreaming about this for years to come. Godspeed.

Fantastic late night dinner. Staff were extremely friendly and knowledgable. I accidentally stacked my chips but they replaced and I was very grateful. Great atmosphere and the food was tremendous. Blood sausage devilled egg roll was sublime!

Came to try the schnitzel burger as I heard it's a good deal. As soon as I walked in, I was pleasantly surprised with the array of delicious food displayed in the cabinets, everything looked fresh and it smelt amazing. Although tempted to try the other menu items, I just ordered the burger and it did not disappoint. The bread was fresh, chicken well seasoned, and can't go wrong with mayo and lettuce. A perfectly done, simple chicken burger. One of the best chicken burgers I've had considering price and portion size. Highly recommend and will be back, and definitely will try the other menu items too!

This place is legendary for a reason. The food is always good here. It’s fresh , delicious and inexpensive. My stuffed pepper was magnificent today as was the baked potato and the beetroot and spinach salad with feta. May this fantastic place never change

Every day of the week, they serve up freshly cooked, chemical-free chicken. 🐓 I actually saw this spot pop up in a post by @tightarsesofmelbourne promoting their Chicken Burger and I was literally salivating at the sight if it. I was around the area only a couple days later and took that as a sign. 🤣 The Chicken Burger comes in at $10.50 and it is huge! It felt clean, I loved the use of the fluffy Turkish roll, the chicken itself was extremely moist and steaming hot. The chips could’ve been crispier but had great seasoning! The value here is great and the service is also super friendly, lots of regulars popping in for their lunch time fix! I’d definitely grab one again or try some more items from the menu when I’m in Fairfield next. 💯 ⭐️ 4.3/5 💸 $

I will definitely come back here again! I got a 1/4 chicken and chips for $9.50. There were so many chips but it was so well seasoned and fresh. The chicken was the same story. Very big portion size as well, this was a struggle to finish and I usually eat 1/2 chicken and chips with ease 🤣 Service was extremely quick, especially during the lunchtime rush. I got my food within five minutes. Rooster Bar also has plenty of indoor seating available.

Ordered through Uber Eats. Chips were well seasoned, good texture but arrived barely warm with lid not closed on box and not full like they usually are. (Space in box) Creamy scalloped potatoes were very disappointing. Sliced potato were just cooked, barely seasoned, lacked ANY creamy sauce throughout layers. Small amount of liquid in bottom of container. Tasted like slightly seasoned milk. Or watered down cream. Creamy potato bake should be as the description says, "creamy". Potatoes should be well cooked with a thick cheesy cream sauce. $11 per serve for what you get was very disappointing. Peas were perfectly cooked and tasty. Can of drink wasn't chilled, just cold. Followed driver on route via Uber app. He had another delivery on the way to my home apparently then went the long way around to my place. Choosing to drive down a main road instead of 2 side streets which would have shortened his trip and the time my meal arrived.

Ordered the schnitzel burger was good but had a bit too much mayo and lettuce making it a bit wet and oily. The atmosphere was nice with all the kids having a teary after finishing the term. The dim sims were good but I couldn’t see any chicken salt or soy sauce which people normally have Dimis with.

Pretty good for today’s economy. Definitely high quality food that I could not make at home myself—my general benchmark for good restaurant food. The place itself is nicely designed and decorated and the staff are friendly. Service staff got a bit confused about when our meals were coming out and they forgot to ask if we wanted sauces with our steak, but that wasn’t a major issue to us. Overall, a good Melbourne restaurant for high quality cured meat and steak.

Holy moly! What a way to kick off this review. Victor Churchill is hands down one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. The décor is incredible, you cannot help but keep looking around and noticing new details, and the food was just on another level. We had the beef short rib croquettes, scallops, beef tartare, porchetta and the beef zabuton. Every single dish was spot on and cooked perfectly. But the real star? The crème brûlée. Absolute showstopper. Big shoutout to Barney and Kiki as well, the service was flawless. We mentioned in passing that we were celebrating a very overdue birthday, and when dessert came out it had a candle and a birthday message. Such a thoughtful touch and it really made the night. Easily one of my top dining experiences. Highly recommend!

This was hands down the best steak we’ve had in Melbourne. From start to finish, the experience was exceptional. Although each seating is limited to two hours, the waiting staff and kitchen team worked in perfect harmony to ensure customers did not feel rushed. The appetisers were all fantastic—especially the steak tartare, which absolutely lived up to its high reputation in other reviews. But the standout for us was the king prawn: incredibly fresh, and the sauce was so delicious we found ourselves asking for extra bread just to soak up every last drop! We were a party of four, each ordering a different cut of steak. There was a small mix-up with my order, but the team handled it with such professionalism and efficiency that my correct cut was brought out within minutes. Every steak was of superb quality and cooked to perfection. We left a generous tip—not only to cover the extra steak we took home due to the mix-up, but also to show our appreciation for the outstanding service provided by the entire team. Their professionalism and attention to detail truly made the evening memorable. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in Melbourne. Highly recommended!

Walking into Victor Churchill is cool, but the real fun starts when the food shows up. I can totally say this place has amazing food that's just way better than most. Everything I tried was delicious. You can tell they use really good stuff and know how to cook it. The meat, especially, was amazing and so tender. Seriously, it's the best meat I've ever had in Melbourne. Every bite was awesome, cooked just right, and packed with flavour. And it's not just the main dishes. The appetizers and starters were also really great, getting you ready for a fantastic dining experience. The dessert was truly the cherry on the cake, topping off an already incredible experience. I highly recommend Victor Churchill if you want a fantastic eating experience. Head Chef Lucas and his team do an awesome job, giving you a food adventure that will make you want to come back again and again. If you love food, you gotta check this place out!

I've been around six times & have never been disappointed. VC is very beautiful & is a lovely place to have a meal sitting at the marble bar. The food & service have always been 5 star on every visit - the staff are friendly & professional. Sometimes when passing, I stop in to buy a dessert from the fridge to take home as a treat & they've all been delicious.

The steak is one of the best I’ve ever had. I got the special that was on, can’t remember the exact name of it but it was fantastic. My girlfriend got the eye fillet, it was so tender and tasty. The sides were fantastic, entrees fantastic and the service was really great. Very attentive, our waiter asked if we came for any social occasion and we told him it was for a birthday. He then got us a little chocolate gift with a candle as a surprise. Delightful all the way through. Would go again & highly recommend.

Service was 10/10. The calamari was very fresh, and the steak was cooked perfectly to a medium rare with a beautiful chargrilled flavour. The chips served with the beef tartare were nice and crunchy, though the tartare itself could use a bit more seasoning. The cigar was full of rich beef flavour and cheesy goodness, with a pleasant crunch from the pistachios — a really good appetiser overall.

We’d just come from another bar that had really let us down, so we weren’t expecting much when we stumbled across this place — but wow, were we wrong. We popped in for happy hour drinks, and they were absolutely spot on. The owner made the best espresso martini I’ve ever had — and I’ve had a lot, all over Australia! She took orders, mixed cocktails, and served with a smile, effortlessly balancing warmth and professionalism. Despite a disappointing meal earlier in the evening, a few of us decided to try the food here — and we were blown away. The half chicken was juicy, flavourful, and generously portioned. The chips and kale chips were the perfect match. The chef even came out to serve some of our dishes personally, which was such a thoughtful touch. It’s clear this is a family-run spot with heart. The passion they have for food and hospitality really shines through. Don’t miss this place — it’s got a great vibe, incredible food, and some of the best service we’ve had anywhere. Absolutely loved it.

I went inside for the lunch special of a sandwich and a juice for $15. The sandwich in the picture looked promising but when it arrived to the table it felt like a joke. It was sandwich bread, no toasted, just a thin slice of pastrami and vegetables. I guess it was my bad for asking that. I was going to say something to the girl but she disappeared. I won't recommend this place for lunch. The decoration inside was really nice.

Dinner at @korrjee in St Kilda after a comedy show at the nearby Palais Theatre. . 1/2 roast chicken: this is their signature dish, and they've done it very nicely. The chicken was juicy and full of flavours, and the skin was crispy. We also had the chicken jus for the sauce, which was yummy 🤤. Chips: perfectly done Crispy chicken wings: can't go wrong with this! Crispy kale: a bit too much salt and vinegar seasoning, but the kale was super super crispy Slaw

The reviews are accurate. Yummiest burgers 🍔 chicken wings were delicious, homemade Fry's soooooo good. I tried the sunrise fresh juice and it was divine. Atmosphere really great, relaxing and enjoyable to dine in. Overall 10/10 for sure.

So impressed with this eatery. We ate spring rolls and my favourite entree the arancini, then for mains the roast chicken (half) with peri peri sauce - so tender and juicy! Tried the chicken Parma; unique with smoked chicken instead of ham and apricot cheese - delicious. we also had the prawn linguini - the size of the prawns and portions was impressive. Also highly recommend the Pina Kolada or peach margarita. Great service and cute little spot

I'm a regular here and it's by far the best spot on Acland Street. It's my go to when friends visit. The chef is ex-Vue de monde and you can tell by the quality of the dishes here versus the competition around. Highly recommend!

Ridiculously small portion！！ Not worth the price! Very disappointed as a returning customer! Paid $26 for just 6 pieces of fried chicken with no sides. The portion used to be decent, but now it’s barely enough for one person. If prices increased due to costs, just say so—don’t silently shrink portions and hope customers won’t notice. At this price, I could get a full meal elsewhere. Won’t order again anymore！

The food here was completely unflavored—bland and oily with no seasoning or spice at all. I politely asked the staff if they could make it more flavorful, but the replacement was just as bad. No improvement, no care, and no apology. The staff seemed uninterested and dismissive the entire time. Definitely not worth the money, and I won’t be returning.

Customer service was astonishing, one of the best staffs i’ve ever came across!! Ordered a hsp and cheese and sausage corn dog, both were absolutely delicious, 100% recommend!

Waited for over half an hour for one burger, a small chips, and some boneless chicken. The staff were just standing around not doing anything, except eating fried chicken straight out of the fryer. There was also a strand of plastic wrap or something inside the burger. If I could give 0 stars, I would.

I had a really disappointing experience at Nene Chicken in Elizabeth. The food was awful—oily, soggy, and completely lacking in flavor. Definitely not worth the price. What made it even worse was the attitude of the staff. They were unfriendly, impatient, and acted like serving customers was a hassle. No basic manners, no willingness to help, and no professionalism. This is not what you expect when dining out. I won’t be coming back, and I don’t recommend this location to anyone.

I think they pre-fried the chicken cause it was served after i just sent the order right away. The fried was also cold. This was what i got on the table. pretty different from other branches (no side dishes, cold food)

Extremely disappointing service. Staff didn’t come outside to offer menus or take our order, simply assuming we’d notice and use the QR code ourselves. No cutlery, water, or essentials were provided, we had to get them on our own. Even basic items like chopsticks weren’t available at the table and had to be requested at the counter. It felt more like a self-service setup than a restaurant. If we’re expected to do everything ourselves, what’s the point of dining out?

We read the menu, I chose something light and she chose a substantial dish the kimchi fried rice. Two good drinks a fresh lemonade with real lemon juice and a lychee drink. Importantly for us, this restaurant is halal. I went to the bar counter and placed my order. 10 minutes later I went back to ask what happened to our drinks. The girl whom I ordered from looked confused and asked me what I’d ordered. She found our order and said yes I’m making them saying it was so busy. Then I sat down again and my partner said that the waitress had given the other table their cutlery and I should ask her for some service. The waitress came over, looking angry at us and told us its self service and I should go there to help ourselves. So I hopped up went over to the cutlery station, and there were trays of knives forks and spoons you could hardly see because the multi level rack they’re on is not lit. There were no serviettes. I turned back to the bar and the girl there was serving another couple. I wanted but saw the serviettes on the counter and just pointed to them. As flustered as she was, she broke off taking her order and refilled the tray. Apologizing profusely. Later or food was delivered followed by our drinks. Her rice was spicy but bland tasting. My prawn dumplings were tasty but oily. The drinks were fresh and tasty. There were a number of family groups and couples but the restaurant certainly wasn’t full. I wouldn’t chase another visit to be honest, others there seemed to having a good time.

Came here at lunch time it was nice and quite which was great we ordered 2 different burgers and the spicy hot wings with side chips, portions small but tasty and fresh, grilled chicken burger is thigh chicken tasted juicy and the hot chips fresh but small portion, I think they just need to add gloves to the food as it gets quite messy. Came here without checking the reviews as it's the first time visiting this location the only thing which would be great would be if the burgers were a bit bigger 3 bites and the burgers disappeared

I got a delivery from this gami and i usually love eating their chicken from the other branches ive been to, especially the mustard sauce which is my favourite to get. However, the colour looked off— almost artificial looking and the radish tasted like its been open for 3 days. Idk.. it’s really disappointing because i genuinely don’t like giving bad reviews but if i paid 50 dollars for bland bimbimbap, off-tasting sauce and radish, that’s concerning.

My first time having Gami and I really went all out! Ordered a regular boneless chicken with sweet chilli sauce on the side, beef bulgogi bibimbap, tteokbokki, corn cheese, and lemon lime bitters. Chicken was super crunchy and well cooked, corn cheese was perfect, tteokbokki was sooo chewy but a bit on the sweet side, and the bibimbap was to die for. The team on tonight were super sweet and worked quickly to get orders out to tables and delivery drivers. The manager (?) was also lovely! 10/10 would come again

First encountered Gami chicken in Perth in 2017. Buldak chicken - new addition. Good amount of spice and sweetness. Tender meat cuts/thighs Soy garlic w honey- not as nice as what it used to be. Less umami/ depth to the flavour. Tasted mild/ flat Coleslaw was pretty standard Kimchi pancake had little filling, slightly overcooked Army stew was also average. Standard ingredients were there, but soup lacked enough golchujang. Still palatable and nice but can’t compare to authentic Korean ones A pleasant experience but standards in the staple/ previously popular soy garlic had fallen short over the years Will come back for the buldak chicken

Gami is the staple chain that comes to mind when I think of Korean Fried Chicken in Melbourne. It’s pretty standard but consistent — a good benchmark for a shared chain recipe. The chicken is usually juicy with a solid chicken-to-batter ratio, and the sauces are decent (though the garlic soy leans too sweet for my liking). Portions are generous enough and you know what you’re getting every time. Gami is always my go-to for a comforting Korean feast! We shared the Gami Platter (super worth it for the portion!) and the Seoul Tteokbokki, which felt like a full-on comfort meal. Tried the gami chicken here and it was absolutely fantastic! Beautifully cooked — tender, juicy, and full of deep, savoury flavour you just don’t get with regular chicken. Just had this fried chicken from my friend's workplace and it was amazing The coating was super crispy and flavorful, and the chicken inside was juicy and tender. What really stood out was the honey mustard dipping sauce - creamy, tangy n the perfect balance of sweet and sharp. Paired with the chicken, it was absolutely addictive. Highly recommend !! 🤤

Uber eats: ordered the chicken bowl literally had one tablespoon of chicken in it. Chips were $11 and also just a handful. Bread was $7 and was a packet of A1 bakery bread. Plus food was absolutely stone cold when it arrived. Either this place has changed hands or something because in the last few weeks it's absolutely gone downhill. Won't be ordering from here ever again.

The king prawns special was an absolute standout but everything from the falafel to the octopus and chicken was great too. Loved the vibe too, the decor was really nice. Instead if you are open minded you will get a fresh take on Lebanese inspired dishes delicately prepared and plated. As a Lebanese person I thoroughly enjoyed this fresh approach and was delighted. We recently visited this restaurant for a girls' night out, and it was one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. The cuisine, a delightful exploration of Mediterranean flavors, was outstanding. We opted for the feast, which included four starters, four mains, and one dessert, and the amount of food was generous. We began with homemade pita and creamy hummus topped with fried cashews, which was beautifully prepared. The sumac-cured ocean trout served with lettuce was exquisite, followed by fried eggplant with tahini, almonds, and chickpeas—easily one of the best starters I've ever tasted. The fried chicken with Harissa, while good, didn't quite stand out compared to the exceptional eggplant. For the mains, the highlight was the lamb, which was tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor, accompanied by rice, lentils, and smoked labneh. The charcoal chicken, unfortunately, was not as impressive. The cauliflower with sultanas and the refreshing salad were both delightful additions. We finished with the boubshka dessert paired with jersey milk ice cream, which was fresh and creamy—a perfect ending to a memorable meal. Damn, this chicken shop never disappoints. We originally ordered everything separately, but the owner recommended that we go for the family set because it was cheaper and had more food! The portions are huge and we got 3 salads instead of 2 because the owner was so kind. The chicken was amazing, salads were perfectly seasoned. Chips were delicious and plentiful. Will definitely go back again. This place definitely isn’t made for dine-in, but for takeaway, it is amazing.

The owner who was there along with the other workers take sincere care and pride in their service. They offer extremely generous servings - definitely value for money which makes me sure i will be coming back here again.

This shop is a family owned shop, I always see the same Asian lady at the counter serving people working with her husband, I don’t think they have taken a day off in years because I use to go to school down the street, I’ve done back over 3 years later and it’s still the same couple working, very hard working and honest. They have some of the best and most fairly priced charcoal chicken I’ve come across in Melbourne, there’s a reason they are on many lists of the top charcoal chicken in Melbourne. This isn’t a place to go if you’re looking for a fancy dinner date, this is a place you go to get good quality food for a cheap price, and an overload on chips- there’s never been a place where they put as many chips as they do here in Melbourne. Amazing place, highly recommend.

I was here a few years ago and decided to try the food again, only to realise that the original Greek owners have sold the business. It is a shadow of what it used to be. First of all all, the floor was very dirty and sticky and you had to ring the bell for service otherwise there was no one in front of the house. We ordered the HSP lamb box and small chicken pack and fries. Prices are very significantly up, but to be fair it is reasonably large quantity of food. While the chicken and lamb was good, we noticed how everything was refried with a lot of oil- see pictures. This is not how Greek food should be. Unfortunately we will never ever be back. The owner was polite and friendly though. Note that I still had the wait around for 10-15 minutes before getting my food. Lots of much better Greek joints around, so save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere.

Lamb :-) Was driving past so stopped rather than usual place in Huntingdale. Family of 5 and we threw chips out and hardy anyone touched the chicken. NEVER EVER go again ..sorry! It was unacceptable. Best charcoal chicken!! I can understand why this place is rated best charcoal chicken in Melbourne. It absolutely blew my mind. I couldn’t wait until I got home I started eating it in the car as the photo shows 😁 The flavour of the chicken was delicious! The smoky flavour shone through and really gave it some depth. I don’t know what seasoning they put on the chicken while it’s cooking but it was incredible 🤤 the potato bake is absolutely also worth a mention. Potato cooked to perfection, soft, cheesy and downright delicious. Already planning when to go back!

"Best Charcoal Meat in Melbourne" I've been eating here on the regular and can hands down say this is the best Charcoal chicken and souvla around. Made proper Greek style by a pro in the industry. These guys make everything in house and its fresh daily. Easy to find parking. Prices are very reasonable. You can order online via food delivery services. Staff work their guts out with the hot Charcoal on their backs and are still the most friendly blokes around. Loyal customer until the end!!

Went in to buy a whole chicken for dinner. The shop was nice and clean and chicken and meat were nicely cooking over the charcoals. Order was processed quickly and chicken cut into pieces. All done in 10 minutes. The chicken was yummy and nicely done. The dark meat were juicy and the chicken breast meat was not dry.

I brought my lady to Benchwarmer after seeing the awesome Bernie Deiter's Kabarett gig at Meat Market, and we were extremely impressed. I had been recommended Benchwarmer by one of the gents at Bracket Brewing in Sydney, and I'd booked a table for me and two mates visiting from NZ next week ahead of seeing The Red Clay Strays at Festival Hall, but wanted to check it out in advance to ensure it was the right pre-gig spot for us. Jackpot!! We had fantastic service, superb beer and drinks selection, cool vibe and the food was truly outstanding. There were a few menu items that were sold out in the early eve, but our lovely and helpful waiter Manato said it had been a very busy Saturday and he made some great alternative recommendations and suggestions. Manato was wonderful, attentive, friendly and made our evening all the more enjoyable. Can't wait to be back at Benchwarmer next Thurs arvo/eve and show off one of Melbourne's gems to my Kiwi visitors!

I can’t believe this little craft beer bar has been hiding in plain sight! It might not be the kind of place you’d expect to find some of the most exciting and delicious food around—but that’s exactly what makes it so special. The newly revamped menu is phenomenal, with a new chef on board who designed dishes inspired by Japanese and Asian flavors that completely exceeded my expectations. Every bite was packed with bold, balanced flavors that felt both comforting and elevated. Pair that with a stellar craft beer selection, range of sake, highballs or (many) frozen margaritas, and impeccable service, = you have a winning combination. My favourite dishes: Kingfish tostada Chicken katsu Panko fish sliders !!!

Best to come with a group so you can get as many dishes as possible, because they're all excellent. Especially the rice noodles. We ordered them again at the end. No regrets.

This hidden gem in West/North Melbourne has quickly become our favourite spot for exceptional beer and food. They have one of the best and most unique beer selections in the area — and the best part is, you can even buy your favourites to take home. On our recent visit, we tried the Kangaroo Tataki and the Hot Wings in Bajan Heatwave Sauce — both were absolutely fantastic. It was our first time trying ‘roo, and it did not disappoint! The friendly service and relaxed, welcoming vibe made the whole experience even better. Unique, memorable, and full of flavour — we can’t wait to come back. Highly recommended!

Been to Benchwarmers 3 times in a week and a half and I can’t wait to get back. Firstly the beer! Amazing tap list. Love it. But surprising equal is the food -it’s incredible, love the new menu. My favorite was the recent special Fillet o fish. It was beautiful. I also loved the kingfish tostadas and the XO Lamb on the homemade crumpet. Well done to the team at Benchwarmers a great welcoming atmosphere and beer and food that is the equal (or better) than anyplace in Melbourne. Keep it up guys

Food was mostly good, however the special hand roll didn’t taste fresh. The service was quite slow - we didn’t get our cocktails until the main dish (had two rounds already). The a la carte menu felt too pricey - it only makes sense to get the set menu.

Been wanting to dine here for a long time, finally made it down and it was fabulous. Great service by gioia and was delish besides the lamb bao was bit dry and not much flavour . Everything else great especially from the first option row. Was our wedding anniversary and they gave us a little suprise at end of the meal also . Very sweet thankyou

Last night we went to Mr. Miyagi for dinner. We had set menu $69 and it was amazing. The food and cocktails had real wow factor and our waiter Tomas and other staff (As far as I can remember their names Gioia, Am ) were on point all night even though they were 1 staff member short for the night. An easy 9/10, they even give you a lemon Sake shot for free at the end of your night. We can't wait to go back 😊💕

Hakata Gensuke Tonkotsu Ramen, located on Russell Street, is a cozy and vibrant Japanese restaurant best known for its rich, creamy tonkotsu pork broth and handcrafted ramen noodles, made with a secret recipe straight from Hakata, Japan. Though it’s a small place, it’s efficiently organized with counter-side seating and compact tables. One of the unique highlights is how the staff periodically chant in unison from the kitchen — a beautiful display of their lively culture that adds to the authentic experience. The restaurant operates on a walk-in only basis, and it's common to see a queue outside — but trust me, it’s worth every second of the wait. As Indian food lovers craving spice, we opted for the God Fire and Black Fire Ramen — both flavorful, spicy, and deeply satisfying. (You can even customize the spice level!) The combination of piping hot broth, perfectly cooked ramen noodles, tender pork slices, and flavorful condiments made for an unforgettable meal. We also tried the pork-filled Gyoza, which paired wonderfully with their citrus soy dipping sauce (almost like a sushi soy dip). To accompany our meal, we went with canned green tea and orange juice — refreshing choices that balanced the spice well. The staff were incredibly polite and welcoming, even taking the time amidst in the busy environment to tell us more about their food and traditions when we showed interest. They truly made the experience feel special — and we even got a photo to remember the night! If you're in Melbourne and want to taste the best ramen in town, Hakata Gensuke is a must-visit. There are plenty of other tempting dishes on the menu too, so we’re definitely going back! PS: They are predominantly a pork-based on their menu.

I visited Hakata Gensuke Tonkotsu Ramen and had a really great experience. We were served by Aoba, who was incredibly sweet and welcoming — he greeted us with a big smile. His warm service really stood out and set the tone for the meal. For the food, we ordered two different ramen dishes: the Black Tonkotsu and the Godfire Plus. At first glance, the Black Tonkotsu doesn’t look very appetizing because of its dark, almost black broth, but it was absolutely delicious. The broth was packed with flavor, very rich and garlicky, so I’d recommend it especially for garlic lovers. The bowl came with two big slices of pork, which were great, though in hindsight I think adding extra meat would have made it even better. The Godfire Plus, on the other hand, had a vibrant red broth and brought the spice. It was bold, flavorful, and had just the right kick without overpowering the taste. Both bowls were satisfying in their own ways, and I’d happily recommend trying them depending on your flavor preference. Overall, between Aoba’s excellent service and the delicious ramen, Hakata Gensuke is definitely worth a visit.

I got the basic pork noodles, with sliced meat. Food was simple, will recommend selecting “less salty” given the normal saltiness was unbalanced. The noodles were fresh, perfect texture, with just a little chew. Recommended for a simple meal

This place has great ramen! I tried the black ramen the upgraded version and it’s a good amount of pork if you want more, taste delicious! My friends tried the spicy tonkotsu levels 2 and it’s so hot! 🥵 just for peopl with high tolerance to spicy 🌶️, the chicken balls are a great option!

This was one of the first ramen I ever had. Returning many years, and hundreds of bowls later, this review pains me. Perhaps it’s nostalgia, but I find it hard to describe this as anything other than dull. Not bad. Just dull. It is smooth, well seasoned, and served with generous pork portions, but it’s not interesting. The black garlic is extremely subtle, and the toppings do nothing other than add a little texture. The ramen game has evolved and I’m just not sure where this fits in. Maybe it’s the bowl you could eat 3 times a week, but it’s not the bowl I would crave, line up for, or go out of my way to find.

Had the classic Tonkotsu Ramen at Hakata Genshuku and it really reminded me of the bowls I had in Fukuoka — rich, deep pork bone flavor in the broth and noodles cooked to that perfect firm texture I love. The only downside was that the chashu felt a bit cold and had a slight odor, but aside from that, the balance of flavors was excellent. Definitely a place I’d like to come back to and try again.

You must try the signature tsukemen, for me it's the best menu here. The texture of the tsukemen noodle is perfect, chewy but not hard. The dipping soup, tasty. The pork, oh man, very tender and juicy. If you like spicy ramen, they have the fire god ramen, they have spicy level and even level 1 is hot enough. This place is alway busy, especially during dinner time, please bring your patience with you because for sure you have to wait...

The staff were so lovely and the food was fantastic. By far the standout for me was the dessert, the best Panna Cotta I've ever had. We also had the set menu and every dish was beautiful (in appearance and taste). Definitely enough food, we left full and happy!

Would give 6 star to their service if I can. I start dining at this place since 2012. Their menu changes over time but the good taste never changes. Recommend dishes (must order!!!) for current menu - beef cheek 🥳 Plus, their bartender is very talent, feel free to challenge him 😝 I asked for “surprise me” and he serve more than a “surprise” 😌 Truely made my night out.

A friend treated me to dinner here. Hidden away, I never would have found it, which makes it so exciting. I was like, where are we going?! The atmosphere was perfect, and the service was beyond amazing. We got the person in charge to choose our meals for the night, and every one of them are something I wouldn't have chosen personally by reading what it's called, but after tasting them I was blown away. I hate mushrooms, the first thing I had was some mushroom dish, and it was my favourite. It was the best damn thing I've ever had. Everything I ate that night was amazing.

Love this place and vibe! We ordered a tuna tataki, it’s ok. Oolong tea+peach+tea, it’s taste like water, don’t recommend. However, chicken wing and slow cooked beef cheek is the highlight! Chicken wing is so crunchy outside and soft&hot inside, love it!!! Slow cooked beef probably is the best texture of beef I have ever tried, the meat just melted in my mouth. It is highly recommended. At last, dessert, combination of mandarin and tea ice cream is just taste so good together! I would def come back if they have more various of food!😍⭐️

A brilliant cafe located in the heart of the trendy Smith St. The whole atmosphere is great with an art style deco creating a unique feel. Food is yummy and beautifully presented with the service team friendly and keeping on their feet! It’s a true local experience and worth the visit. Price wise it pretty normal for the brunch scene! This is my second visit- tried their mushroom risotto and pearl barely salad last time. Just LOVED their salad, so unique so fresh. Had a “magic salad” today that the server recommended me, she’s so friendly even during busy hours.

They (and also we) ATE and left no crumbs! We are from Perth, and have been to this establishment 3 seperate times in 2 trips. The food has not disappointed. The staff and ambience of the restaurant was also cosy and lovely. Highly recommend the porchetta, lamb cutlets, arancini and kale salad if you’re going for lunch but there are many fantastic options! For breakfast we were just meant to duck in and have a quick bite from the cabinet however, the Turkish eggs looked so good so we decided to order that (pictured). The sausage tasted beautiful and smokey and went really well with the labneh, eggs and toast (pictured). We couldn’t recommend Alimentari more.

Food was average Tuna tartare 7/10 Broccoli salad 7/10 Squid ink pasta 7.5/10 Service was mid. Took a good 5 mins for anyone to acknowledge me at the door and bring me in, despite many of the restaurant staff walking back and forth past me. We asked for a drinks menu and it didn’t come out for a very long time and some of our food was missing. The only thing I liked about this restaurant was the aesthetics.

My first visit to Alimentari Smith Street—and definitely not my last! I ordered the salmon dish from their specials list, and it was cooked to perfection—flaky, tender, and bursting with flavour. Absolutely delicious. The house made focaccia was outstanding, as were the olives with lemon, wild fennel, and bay leaf. Every bite felt like a celebration of fresh, high-quality ingredients and classic Italian flavours. The table service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. I especially loved the courtyard space, which is both sunny and peaceful. The entire venue has been designed with such intention and warmth—it's clear that every detail has been carefully considered. A truly delightful experience with fantastic Italian food offerings in a beautiful setting. Highly recommended!

Finally managed to get to eat here as sadly the last time we booked we had to cancel so have been eager to rebook. The atmosphere hits you as soon as you step in and is incredibly welcoming and all encompassing. The decor is truly out of this world. We went for the Feed Me Menu and it was outstanding. Dish after dish that were just sublime in both taste and presentation. The flavours were amazing, with just the right level of heat to make your tongue tingle, but not too much to ruin your ability to taste everything. Our waiter was attentive, friendly and welcoming and we couldn't have asked for a better evening. We had food left over which we took with us and had a very enjoyable lunch with it the following day. Will be recommending the restaurant to anyone and everyone who listens, and will definitely be coming back again on numerous occasions.

A fun night out with flavour and value! We had such a great time at this restaurant! We went with the "Feed Me" menu and it did not disappoint — every dish was packed with flavour, beautifully presented, and kept coming at just the right pace. It felt like a mini food adventure, and you could really tell everything was made with care. Great value for money too — generous portions, quality ingredients, and a really satisfying overall experience. Highly recommend.

Finally manage to tick this place off my foodie checklist. Daughter in law is known as the unauthentic Indian restaurant which reflects the patrons that dine there. You’ll hardly find Indians dining there and my personal opinion is due to the fact the dishes aren’t spicy. In saying that the dishes are delicious, due to the large number in the group we had to go with the set menu. The cons with dining on the set menu they were very rigid in not swapping out any of the dish on the list which most places I’ve been to have allowed me to do. Also music was too loud to be able to have meaningful conversations. We were also surprised by a 15 min belly dance performance. If you are planning to go please make reservation as the restaurant gets fully booked out.

What a delicious food we had at the Daugher in Law tonight! Lamb curry is just perfect and not too spicy - meat tender and samosa chaat is the best I have ever had in my life! The green sauce on samosa chaat is very special - I can't describe it, gotta taste it! What a lovely belly dancer too! The sword act is a bit of the spectacle and she spins with it so so fast on her head. Decorations are an experience too- the whole joint is colourfully decorated- there is so much to look at. Stuff was friendly and efficient and we didn't wait too long for our food.

The pricing is on the higher end, likely due to its prime CBD location, which may not feel justified given the portion sizes and flavour inconsistencies. The wait times can change depending on the crowd. We had a reservation and still there was waiting time. The Papdi Chaat, unfortunately, fell short with missing flavours and lacked the tangy-spicy punch typical of the dish. In contrast, the Samosa Chaat was flavourful and satisfying. The IFC (Indian Fried Chicken) was a highlight—crispy, well-seasoned, and indulgent. The Spiced Lamb Keema Slider impressed with its rich, aromatic filling and generous portion, perfect for sharing. The Lamb Chops, however, didn’t deliver the depth of Indian spices expected. The Maharaja Punch was refreshing and well-balanced, offering a pleasant break from the heavier dishes. Overall, Daughter in Law is not the place for purists seeking authentic Indian cuisine, but it does offer a vibrant atmosphere and a few standout dishes. It’s best suited for those looking for a fun, fusion-style dining experience rather than a traditional one.

We dined in at daughter in law for dinner. It was a good experience. We got the feed me menu, where the entrees were amazing, the tandoori prawn was an absolute show stopper. However the mains were lack lustre. For example the fish curry and the prawn curry was made in the same curry, this would be sacrilege in an Indian household where we take pride in showcasing an assortment of curries. Similarly I’m not sure about the red lighting, it’s a bit too much, ideally I’d like to see what I am eating rather than it all looking like a mosh pit of dishes covered in a red bubble. On the other hand service was warm and friendly and the ambience was amazing, felt like I was dining at my cousins wedding haha. Ps. You’ve a great thing going, please tweak the mains in the feed me menu to showcase the culinary landscape of Indian cuisine.

Our group were completely blown away, an honest feast for all the senses. We got the 'feed me' menu and our entire table were so impressed with all the courses. We all could stop smiling and taking in the beautiful, colourful space. Then the belly dancer came out which was the cherry on top of an already fabulously fun evening! 10/10 would recommend and will go again!

A nice experience in the restaurant with the actual truck decor and road signs. The booths were nice and comfy, high and private to be able to actually enjoy the food and company without being distracted by the other customers. Food was amazing and super filling. A burger alone is enough with out prdering chips on the side. Great place to enjoy a dinner with the family or friends.

Pretty cool truck themed burger joint with different road signs displayed throughout the place. Menu is pretty extensive with over 10 burger options, a section dedicated to chickens, some sides and desserts. Ordered the following: - Saint Side Burger which had two thick beef patties, some fresh vegetables, cheese, and mick sauce which was some kind of mayo. Burger was huge but the patties were on the dry side; tasted alright but got flavour fatigue half way through - Popcorn chicken was decent with a nice crunchy coating - Onion rings were also nice and crunchy but a little too salty - Nutella waffles contained chocolate ice cream, whipped cream and strawberry slices sandwich between two waffles. Waffles barely have any crispiness on the outer layer, and the whipped cream just goes everywhere when trying to cut into bite size. Taste wise it was sweet and delicious after all the heavy salty food. Overall friendly staff and the serving size was huge even for the sides, but food was average at best.

Not really sure what we felt like for dinner, we went exploring the strip of restaurants in Werribee and happened upon this burger restaurant. Greeted with very friendly welcoming staff, we decided to eat in. Ordering was super easy, with a QR code and online ordering. The drink came out very quickly, and the food not long after that. I had the Fine and Dandy on a GF bun. The bun was a bit dry but gf is usually not amazing. The rest was yum. My partner had Bacon Bacon which he liked. Double nest, double cheese, double bacon. Also a side of waffle fries, just for fun.

Amazing place with super cool truck stop themed interiors. Totally give you the feel of being a truckee. The food, drinks and even dessert are so good. We tried: -cocktails - they were goooood - onion rings - they were crispy yet juicy - fried chicken - again crispy and super juicy - Kanye west-side burger : burger was just perfect. That restaurant really is the secret spot for food and burgers lovers. The cozy atmosphere, the very friendly staff and awesome ambiance makes it a first point. The burgers mates... Oh damn the burgers are simply, GORGEOUS ! Full of tastes, the buns are simply awesome and everything is fresh. The waffles fries are amongst the best I ever had ! Bit sad point is that, I ordered some more waffles and fried chicken to take out when I left at 3pm, the restaurant was closing at 9 and they already were out of chicken ! Very good. :)

Delicious burger and tenders. We had the "actually hot" tenders, and they were hot as advertised. The chips with the gravy and sauce were really delicious. Also, don't forget to try the mac n cheese bites they were tasty.

Heard a lot of noise and hype for Belles hot chicken. The fried chicken itself was unfortunately underwhelming, there is no prominent flavours that makes it stand out. Borderline less flavour than your KFC fried chicken. The French fries were sadly the star of the show. Stop by if you’re in the area but not a place we would willingly go out of our way for.

Belles Fitzroy… you won my heart (and my stomach). I went with the Supreme and wow—what a choice. The fries were next level: generously seasoned, perfectly hot, and irresistibly crispy. I couldn’t resist adding a side of mash with their “Good Gravy” (yes, that’s really what it’s called), and it absolutely lived up to the name. But what really made the experience was the service—our server was incredibly kind and helpful from start to finish. Cool vibe, great food, and amazing service… what more could you ask for? Belles has definitely earned a spot on my regular rotation. Highly recommend! :)

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Bell's Hot Chicken, and it was an unforgettable experience! This Yankee-style diner truly has vibes of plenty, making for a delightful atmosphere. The chicken burger was a standout—juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. But the real star of the show for me was the crinkle cut chips. They were incredibly crispy, and the epic flavoring on top made them absolutely addictive. The spicy chicken and wings were also fantastic, with just the right amount of heat and mouthwatering taste. The service was lovely, with friendly and attentive staff who made us feel right at home. To top it all off, the beers were wonderful, offering a great selection that perfectly complemented our meal. If you're looking for a place with great food, drinks, and atmosphere, Bell's Hot Chicken is a must-visit. Five stars all the way!

Upbeat atmosphere, tasty food, clean amenities. Try the Mac & Cheese balls and the Supreme Sandwich - can't go wrong. The Buffalo is also great, however, it may not be for people who don't like only slightly spicy, crispy fried chicken. I certainly enjoyed it, though. They clearly do a roaring trade on Uber Eats too. Walk-ins get a seat at the bar so if you have a table of four it is advised you book a fair bit in advance to get a seat. Wandering around the area, I came across this place for lunch. The place was clean and welcoming, American style. The staff is young and available to explain the menu and answer any questions. I found the food very spicy as there was a lot of paprika in the wings and tenders so I had a bit of trouble finishing the food, I suppose it's my subjective taste. All in all the meat was good, with an extra note the sandwich. In the end I recommend it if you like spicy food and a lot of paprika.

The fried chicken here is delicious, flavorful, and has many flavors to choose from. The black bean noodles are also delicious. Although the price is a bit expensive, the portions are large, so go with 2 or 3 people to enjoy many dishes. The service is fast. The space is cozy, with many tables you can dine in anytime. This is a restaurant with many Korean dishes, so if you have a chance, you should stop by and try it.

SamSam Chicken in Melbourne is a hidden gem! The food was absolutely delicious, and the jjajang myum noodles was rich, flavourful, and definitely a must-try (my personal favourite). The portions are generous for the price, which makes it great value. On top of the amazing food, the atmosphere was really nice and welcoming. What made the experience even more unique was seeing their robot serve fried chicken such a fun and interesting touch that added to the vibe. This Korean restaurant really brought the authentic flavors bold, spicy, and full of character. The fried chicken came in several unique flavors, all surprisingly delicious in their own way. What amazed me most was the robot frying the chicken, which made the whole experience even more fun and impressive.

A nice little restaurant that does some great Korean fried chicken as well as other dishes that are definitely worth a try. We went there for Korean Fried Chicken and liked the sweet chilli sauce that it was drowned in. Not too spicy that the kiddos couldn’t eat it but a nice hit of sweet & spice. The batter is almost cake like and comes across as a sweet while the chicken pieces are lovely, plump and juicy. The mozzarella sticks seemed like just a frozen variety that were put in the fryer. Would have loved to try their other dishes and plan to head back soon to check them out. The staff were very friendly, although they seemed to be working flat out. With a place like this it’s all about eating and leaving, no long lunches. Give it a try if you’re in Melbourne city. Good food and service at an affordable price.

The place was noisy and the places to sit are very close to each other so it doesn't really reflect much intimacy when you go out with friends - but it's still a good place. Chicken fresh and good, even though if you put sauces on it you can make it more expensive. Japchae was really delicious and a hit between my friends, who didn't try Korean food before. I recommend it!

We ordered the 8 color chicken to share and it was a great experience to try all the different flavours. The $3 add on rice ball was also such a fun experience. Will definitely come back to try other dishes on the menu :)

Hot Star Chicken on Swanston Street is a go-to for satisfying that late-night fried chicken craving. The XXL chicken is perfectly seasoned, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside — exactly what you’d hope for from Taiwanese-style street food. The spice levels are customisable, which is great, and the portions are huge for the price. Service is usually quick, though it can get busy during peak hours. Seating is limited, so it’s more of a grab-and-go place. Would love to see a few more side options or drinks to round out the meal. Overall, consistently tasty and reliably satisfying — definitely worth a visit if you’re in the city and craving something indulgent!

Besides having to wait a lifetime for food it was pretty good and juicy. Flavours were there, chips were a bit light on the seasoning but everything else was decent. Could see they looked a bit understaffed when I went which explains the wait time.

Today, I had a chicken ribs here. It’s really good. And the staff name Kylie is really friendly and did her job so well. I receive a good service here. Will comeback for next time.

High A Tier Taiwanese Fried Chicken. 8.5/10. Really filling for what you pay for. The seasonings are really nice, you can make it really spicy or spicy and sweet. The spot is also halal so that's a plus. Had an enjoyable experience with them.

Home of the oversize chicken! Not wrong there! It is a meal on its own, will definitely fill you up especially if you opt for the sweet potato with Cajun seasoning and coke! More like a dinner meal if you have a small appetite just get the chicken on its own. Packs heaps of flavour but by the time you move onto the chips, the taste buds will start to get thirsty, abit on the salty side. Otherwise a good snack on the go!

Service is fast and cooking is complely visible to customers so we know it's not unhygienic or nasty like hidden kitchens in such shops tend to be. Friend chicken is decent, nothing special. If you have a craving, it's great. Sweet seaweed flavour of the fries is a great complement to spicy fries chicken.

A Saturday staple for my family, the food is delicious, consistent and the portion sizes are incredibly generous. I got the smashed avocado this time which was fresh and uniquely paired with beetroot hummus and chilli (not spicy) and I will definitely get this dish again! We also had the same waitress who is very patient and friendly!!

Either way, it was a fun and tasty experience!

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Melbourne. The food is exceptional. The service is outstanding and warm. It's a pretty small restaurant with a menu of only hits. Their beef tartare is my favorite version I've had anywhere. The wine list is small, and changes regularly. They do a great job curating the list and I'm always pleased.

I had a great experience at Lagoon Dining in Carlton. The staff were fantastic, attentive and knowledgeable, making the evening even more enjoyable. I opted for the $78 set menu, which was well worth it. The portions were generous and everything was served at a good pace. Standout dishes for me were the char siu and the steak tartare - both were exceptional in flavor and presentation. I also appreciated that each course was accompanied by a fresh greens dish, perfectly complementing the meats. The only downside was the outdoor seating. While comfortable, it doesn't have the same charm as the indoor space, which is more visually appealing. Overall, a great dining experience with a solid menu and excellent service. Would definitely recommend!

Did a mid week chef's menu here and it exceeded expectations! Food was delicious and inventive. I think it's easy to go overboard on a tasting menu but the amount was perfect and excellent value. Nice wine selection. Enjoyed the vibe of the place. Will be back.

Great food, rude staff. This would have been the third time visiting this restaurant. Food had always been great. This is however the most memorable visit. We dined in as a group of 6. The service we received weren't great. The worst was when the man that served us responded unprofessionally back to us on how we haven't been waiting as long as we were for food. I'm definitely going to consider very carefully if I would want to come back again as I prefer to have a nice meal with nice staff. This incident has definitely dampen the night for the group.

Great chicken but awful service! Would not recommend. Staff members are very aggressive and unhappy to do their jobs. Had one particular female come up and say “Can I take the menus?” in a hostile tone that didn’t even sound like SHE wanted to take the menus in the first place! Don’t ask if you don’t even want to do it. Although it’s evident they have a back room, about 5-6 staff sat a table right next to mine for their staff meals. There, they chewed with their mouths open, laughed extremely loud, and made an overall ruckus - all whilst sitting right next to customers and wearing the uniform of Gami. Whilst I respect that the people who work in hospitality need to eat during their shifts, is it really appropriate to be doing it seated at a table where all the other customers sit? I imagine they store their personal belongings somewhere behind where customers are, and don’t see why I should have to sit anywhere near a bunch of staff guffawing and spitting their food everywhere when I’m trying to eat. The staff that WERE still working ended up being awful to customers, slamming food and drinks on the table without announcing the names of them. I had a waitress land a lemon-lime bitter right in front of my partner, saying absolutely nothing as she walked away, even though that drink was for my friend sitting across from me. This left us confused as she didn’t say what the drink was and didn’t even bother clarifying who it belonged to. The waitress wasted no time at all running away from the table like the coward she is, all so she could join in on the excessively loud conversation of her co-workers that made it seem like it was open mic night at Gami on a Friday afternoon! After seeing how their staff behave, it’s no wonder at all that they push for you to use the QR codes to order - since these waiters and waitresses would rather do anything else but actually serve their customers or treat them with respect. Thankfully for them, there are some positives about this place. Prices are pretty competitive and they have a good range of menu items, all of which come with images if you order online. It’s easy to pay in advance and get your food, and the chicken I received was cooked perfectly - beautifully tender and juicy. Across all items, flavour is great and there is definitely something on the menu for everyone - from chips to fried chicken, to burgers to cocktails. Just remember that Gami is a chain. You can find all of the above positives at any other location. And considering how terrible the staff at Fountain Gate are, I highly suggest going to any Gami in the state that ISN’T this one (:

We had dinner on Saturday night. Was very busy, we were waiting for 35 minutes to have our food. Food was nice, hot pot was an interesting experience. In our opinion, food slightly missed on a flavours side, bit probably it's an individual preference. Overall it was good!

Got served the Smokin Hot BBQ chicken today with little to no chicken pieces in it (total 6 tiny chicken pieces). What it looks on the menu is completely different from when they bring it in person! Portion is highly misleading as they don’t put enough protein in the plate. It is to the point where the plate looks like it’s already had someone eat from it (refer to pic). The place is all about cutting corners and not giving a damn about customer service. So much for the sign at the front that tells people to “wait to be seated”when no one really asks you about your food. If I am paying 23 bucks for a dish it better have more than measly 10 grams of protein in it. Oh and they made me wait 15 minutes for this measly 10 gram protein dish as well. Save yourself the trouble of not coming to this place. Lots of better restaurants around. Staff look like they’re overworked all the time. The restaurant owner really needs to pull their socks up.

Their food is of good quality. I can say it's one of the best Korean chicken I've ever had. The staff are very accommodating, especially Rosie, Astrid, and Mark. I have nothing else to say but — the best! 😊 Even my daughter loves it!

Can’t cook chicken to save their lives. Wouldn’t feed this to my dog! Went back and the guy apologise blamed the Uber driver for the burnt chicken… I said it’s black mate same with the burger meat and everything else not just cold. He said he’d redo it and give some extra chips and then just burnt the chicken a second time around. Straight after. Absolutely terrible. Never done a bad review in my life but this was taking the piss. Funny because I got owned but taking the piss.

We buy from The Hot Bird multiple times a week, and it never disappoints. Whether it’s a whole chicken or just a few quarters depending on what we need, the quality is always spot on – juicy, flavourful, and perfectly cooked every time. Over the years, we’ve also enjoyed their burgers and wraps – just as tasty and satisfying. And seriously, do yourself a favour and try their chips. They’re some of the best you’ll find anywhere – crispy, golden, and addictive. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, and Alan (the owner) runs a great shop. It's clear they care about both their food and their customers. Highly recommend this place – it’s a true neighbourhood favourite!

Food was delicious, and the service was so lovely! The portions were very generous, and I would definitely return! However, the lovely person who served us was berated by two awful customers for no reason. I hope she is given proper supports for harassment and stress as I think she was working by herself. No one should be harassed while doing their job. :( 💔

Tried the chicken wings last night. Great deal on Wednesdays! They are very tasty and much larger than say , ones from KFC. Plus they have a menu of flavours. I tried Southern and Korean. Delicious and filling. They also serve great roast vegetables which I have often bought to supplement my meals at home. Staff are friendly and very competent. A must for chicken lovers!

I travelled 2.5 hours today just to get here, it was worth it. The food is lovely, and I'd not eaten here for about 3 months, I felt severe cravings. Another positive is that it's not closer to me, otherwise my body weight would be increasing dramatically quickly! Absolutely worth a try. Chicken fillet and chips with a bit of gravy over the top 👌

If you enjoy a simple, no fuss lunch, then this is a good option for you. Just choose from a small selection of lunch combos and you're good to go. The service is quick, the food is tasty, and the portion size is generous. It's a pretty small place, and you could easily pass it by if you're not keeping an eye out.

It's a small restaurant that we just stumbled on. We are so glad we did as the food was absolutely delicious and the portions were bigger than we expected. Very reasonably priced. We will be back when we return to Melbourne.

Had the beef and pork sizzling bulgogi and portions are surprisingly filling, dishes don't look particularly big when they come out but the depth of meat you get is pretty generous. Bursting with flavours, can't wait to come back to try the fried chicken
