Delicious vegetarian food for non-vegetarian people We went for a late Sunday afternoon lunch (around 3–4 PM) and had a great time. It was our first visit, so we decided to go for a full meal, starting with dumplings as an appetizer, followed by our main courses and dessert. I had the Japanese curry, while my partner chose the eggplant parmigiana. My curry was decent but lacked depth in flavor—it could have used more seasoning, and the rice was missing salt. However, my partner’s dish was absolutely delicious (I can personally vouch for that!). For dessert, I had the brownie with salted caramel sauce, and my partner tried their signature cake. The brownie was different from what I expected—thick, with a nice texture and a strong dark chocolate flavor. Since I prefer less sweet desserts, it was a great choice for me. The overall atmosphere was lovely, with artistic decor that added to the experience. I’d rate our visit 4.3 out of 5 and would definitely recommend it!

Late lunch. There are many vegan options on the menu. We found it because of Happy Cow. We shared a mushroom Japanese-style curry with a variety of local mushrooms. And a classic Romanian dish of Cluj style cabbage - a sort of cabbage lasagna, without the pasta. Both delicious. Very friendly staff and absolutely gorgeous interior

🌿 A truly refreshing and elegant experience at Silverfare! I tried the Raw-Vegan Cold Carrot Soup with Ginger and the Raw Avocado specialty, and both dishes exceeded expectations. The carrot soup was silky and perfectly balanced — the ginger added a gentle warmth, while the coconut cream gave it a smooth, creamy texture. The croutons complemented it beautifully. The Raw Avocado plate was an explosion of textures and colors — creamy avocado, crunchy pine buds, and the sweetness of goji berries and pomegranate. Every bite felt light yet rich in flavor and freshness. I waited a loong long time to come to Samsara from Bucharest and it did not dissapoint. Firstly, the food is very good, makes you feel like you are not missing something from the plate, unlike most of vegan/vegetarian dishes. I had the lasagna which is very good, especially the tomato sauce. My partener had quatro formaggi gnocchi which where good but the cheese was not as intense as we expected, but still good. We also had the dumplings and they are delicious. The interior design is so beautiful and the terrace has a very nice vibe, very relaxing. The lemonades are great also :) Can’t wait to come again

I recently had dinner at Samsara, a popular vegetarian and vegan restaurant in Cluj. The setting is lovely — calm, beautifully designed, and the food itself was very good, well-prepared, and flavorful. The digital menu via QR code is a great feature: it’s available in English and includes clear allergen labels, which helps guests identify suitable dishes. However, as someone with celiac disease, my experience was unfortunately disappointing from a safety standpoint. Not because of the food quality — but because of how the staff handled my allergy. Upon seeing that the menu included many gluten-containing dishes, I explicitly asked the waiter to inform the kitchen about my celiac condition, and to take precautions to avoid cross-contamination. His response was simply: “Just read the menu — everything is marked there. In the kitchen, they prepare everything the same way.” I insisted again, trying to explain that I wasn’t just avoiding gluten as a preference — I was asking him to notify the kitchen so they could be more cautious. Despite this, he refused to pass on the message, which made me feel unprotected and exposed to unnecessary risk.

A must visit place if you are in Cluj. They serve one of the best vegetarian and vegan dishes. The ambience is fantastic.

I understand that Samsara had good food, and looking at the past photos I can also imagine that was true. Today we found the cheapest veggies and buns probably available on the market at a massive overprice for what was in the plate. Really nothing special in the salads, baked cauliflower and potatos, bellow avarage burger. Saving the day were the in house drinks, french fries and the carrot cake. Otherwise, really nice place and very good serving. Hope that the place will come back to what it once was...

Very cosy and authentic restaurant, which is very popular among local people with large selection of food and excellent service. The food could be a bit better for a such a nice place.

Zama is by far my favourite restaurant in Cluj-Napoca. The food is always fresh and tasty. The staff, smiling and helping. The atmosphere relaxing and welcoming. I will go back to Zama anytime I’ll be back in Cluj-Napoca.

The restaurant is beautiful and the food is very tasty. We took the Transylvania plate, Roata hot plate and 2 beef soup. For dessert- Papanash. For 6 people it was more than enough 😊 We also got the special liquor of the restaurant to try and it was great. We didn’t need to reserve a table in advance. One thing for improvement- it took too long until the food arrived (still think that the service itself was good).

Authentic and delicious, definitely eat here! A rare 5 star review from me (see my other reviews). Visited October 2025. The food was good enough that we ate dinner each of the only two nights we were in town. The cabbage rolls were divine, cooked perfectly and served piping hot with lots of flavor. The platter of mixed meats, cheeses, pickled vegetables and sauce was over the top delicious and was easily enough food for at least 4 persons. The bread bowl with beans was outstanding with a heartiness belying it's humble ingredients (also a vegetarian delight). During our second visit, the house made sausages were excellent with golden potatoes seasoned perfectly. There are enough menu selections for most tastes including several vegetarian options. The house wine is price fairly and is excellent at the price point. The staff is kind, courteous and attentive without being overbearing. Reservations highly recommended (staff speaks english).

A great place for anyone who wants to try local food — everything was really delicious. The service was very friendly and welcoming. Just a heads-up:", I’d recommend booking a table in advance, as it gets quite busy.

Long waits during peak time but it’s a beautiful location with tasty food, especially given a non Romanian palate. Enjoyed the sarmale and mici both here. They gave us complimentary raki as an aperitif which was nice as well.

Got a sharing platter for 2… so much delicious food! Beer was tasty, staff were lovely and atmosphere was perfect. We came without a reservation on a Sunday at around 8pm. It was full but we waited 20 minutes and managed to get a table. Was worth the wait for a lovely local food experience !

The design is very on point and the atmosphere overall feels chill, the music in the background is lounge style. The food was good, I had the tuna and I preferred it to be medium, but it was well done, but still delicious. My partners had clams, burgers and seafood pasta and they were happy with their choices. Also, good wine list! They had Malbec, my favorite.

They have a very nice terrace. The inside of the restaurant is beautifully decorated, with a terrace outside near the Union Square.

Overall an OK experience, but not state of the art blow my mind 5 star feedback as per expectation. Luckily the manager took our feedback on board professionally. The duck leg with chorizo smashed potatoes is an absolute must! Anything else we ordered, not so much. The creme brulée was the most disappointing, had to be returned, unfortunately. So yes, will come back there, for the duck, but nothing else.

Beautiful little spot right in the main square, great for breakfast and a quick cup of coffee. Very cozy, industrial-chic interior that is very welcoming. Staff is attentive and polite, but may seem a little overwhelmed in crowded times (tables not always cleaned between customers. Food is not spectacular, but it definitely is good. Most breakfast spots in town have homemade bread from this region, it would've been great to have that here for all dishes. Overall enjoyable as a place and definitely good for a quick breakfast with a twist.

We’ve been there twice - our first night in Cluj and in the middle of our stay. The service and the food were fantastic. Highly recommend the BBQ ribs, fries and the fish & chips. If I have the chance I’ll come back again.

I’d say the two biggest pluses of this restaurant are its location, which is just steps away from Central Park, and its lush, green terrace, which is perfect during the warmer months. The food is decent, and the prices are fair all things considered. Inside, it’s fairly spacious, though the basement is a downside: poorly ventilated, often crowded, and furnished with uncomfortable old wooden chairs. It's a place worth checking out. I’ve been there many times and keep coming back from time to time.

Not too bad a spot for lunch, the ambiance is great and the food is decent. Service takes a long time though and some of them forgot our requests for water/extra plates etc.

Came here for a beer and a dessert after dinner. The beer list is quite extensive with a ton of options. There is also great outdoor Biergarten seating and the inside feels like a German bierhaus. Lots of food options as well, it was packed when I came and I can see why!

Delicious food, large portions at reasonable prices. I recommend the chicken schnitzel in Grana Padano crust with sweet potatoes. The staff is friendly and our meals were served very quickly.

Came for our annual festival dinner with a group of around 30 and service was really good. Considering how busy it was and how big the order was, our server and the service were great. Drinks and food was great and large. Great place for dates and groups. Our server, Cristina, was amazing. We’re all very experienced in the industry so we do notice these things.

Clean aesthetic and generous food portions. Really great value for money. We went there at around 12 and the place was pretty crowded. We waited outside a bit, however they took our order when we were outside, for our food to be ready faster. The food was extremely tasty.

One of best choices in Cluj. It’s a cosy place with sincere people. I ate French toast and I love it. Every detail of the plate is very delicious. Brioche, maple syrup, sauce and fresh fruit are all very balanced. I would highly recommended it.

I’ve been waiting since 2018 to try this Brunch spot. It was a great experience overall. The pancake was so fluffy but something missed — maybe some avocado or cheese to balance the dish? Anyhow, my friends got the hummus (7/10) with sourdough bread (9/10).

I had higher expectations of the restaurant. The service was good but the food not so. In the past they had the best ribs in town now it was just regular. My friend had some hash browns and cheese croquettes and they were very oily. The brownie was more like a cake. Inside at this time of the year it's a bit to cold but they have some heaters.

Nice location. Everything else is below any expectations. Bad food. Burned snitzel, supermarket tomatoes in the season. You should avoid this place. After one dinner here you will understand why other restaurants have waiting line.

Right in the center of Cluj-Napoca. Cozy, rustic, not very expensive & good food, especially pork ribs. Most of the guests ordered ribs, spicy or not. The desert was chestnut pure with icecream and cream.

Original food and great chef (yes, one of the guys has a lot of cooking awards and you can feel it in the food). Great service and polite attitude towards the customer. I felt respected and cared for. When I asked for dessert(lava raspberry cake with pistachio ice cream and raspberry sauce, a true delight), I was pleasantly surprised to hear a good advice, and that would be to wait until I have finished my main course(crispy chicken+wedges, tasteful as well), so that the dessert would be fresh. And it certainly was! The contrast between hot and freezing cold was HEAVEN, as well as the bittersweet combination of brownie, ice cream and raspberry sauce. Speaking of heaven, the menu is split in "Food Heaven" and "Food Hell" and it's a great idea in my opinion. I will let the pictures speak for themselves. 10/10 would reccomend this tiny but wholesome restaurant! :)

Thought that this was a restaurant but turns out it’s take out only so decided just to order and take it home. Got the Waugh burger and fries. The wagyu burger was good at first but with time was a bit too overpowering on flavors and got extremely messy (like need to wash your hands multiple times messy). The portion size was too large in my opinion and added to the mess, I think it would be better smaller. The fries were good and the spices on them tasted great. The regular aioli was good, but the spicy aioli had almost no flavor and definitely no spice. Wouldn’t recommend the spicy aioli. Overall a bit expensive and wasn’t the best meat. I might come back to try a vegan burger as there’s a great selection and see how that goes.

The place, the menu, the service, all are brilliant. The Beyond green burger is incredibly tasty and nourishing. It's not cheap yet, but it's a great promise for a more ethical and ecological food. Very good food and plating, nice atmosphere, good location and nice setup. Especially liked the caju hummus and the duck breast. The place also has quite a wine selection. Unfortunately, the service was a bit sloppy, waiters forgetful in terms of cuttlery and drinks. All in all a good restaurant and a pleasant experience.

Been here a few times and its been fantastic. Today I came with a work colleague and its like we werent even there, nobody came to take our order, our table stayed dirty until we got our food... a struggle that should not happen in a place where you are paying for a service. Food was great.

Very nice terrace, designed in a beautiful place in the middle of the Central Park of Cluj-Napoca, close to the lake. This is probably the most beautiful terrace in Cluj. Great service, a little bit expensive but good food and tasty lemonade. A quiet place with a relaxed atmosphere and good music. I can recommend.

We visited Kupaj Cluj about 4 years ago and left back then with a rather bitter taste. Coming back this time was a completely different experience. We tried the degustation menu and it was truly outstanding beautifully built up, with every course offering unique and well-balanced flavors. Each dish was a creative combination of tastes and textures, all presented with great attention to detail. A wonderful surprise and a huge improvement definitely worth the visit!

We had the most special night in cluj. Big thanks to Stefano for making the evening perfect. The food was amazing and the service was perfect. Stefano offered us different bottles of rumanien vine and it went perfect with the food. It was a 10/10.

We visited Kupaj Gourmet during a one-night stay in Cluj Napoca as we were looking for something truly special. The atmosphere in the restaurant was great, creating a wonderful dining vibe. The food was impressive — the tuna tartare with wasabi mayo stood out as especially exceptional, and the turbot was also very tasty. However, I have to deduct a star for the long wait. It took an hour between our starter and main course, which is simply unacceptable. What made it worse was that the staff didn’t offer any apology or explanation for the delay. Overall, fantastic food and ambiance, but the service needs improvement.

We had brunch here on Saturday, 27.10, and it was an absolute delight! The food was excellent, fresh, and full of flavor. Service was outstanding—special thanks to Ștefan, who went above and beyond to explain the menu in detail and even suggested we try the Crêpe Suzette for dessert, which turned out to be absolutely delicious. The restaurant itself is beautifully set in the heart of Cluj, with a cozy and stylish atmosphere. Their small outdoor area is especially charming—well kept, full of plants, and a perfect spot to relax. Overall, an exceptional dining experience. Yolka is a bit a challenge to find if you don't know: you have to go through a passage, go to the first floor before to know the bar is there. But it deserve to search! Very nice and cosy atmosphere just across the city central square with view on the cathedral. The menu is good & honest, staff really sympathetic and fluent in English. Insomnia is a quaint little cafe-bistro hidden behind a massive wood door at a historical landmark. There are two levels where you could grab something to eat or drink. I've been here a few times in the summer and now in spring. The food my friends and I ordered was pretty good, we got Aloo tikki (sauce not included!), classic butter chicken, and a chicken korma. The drinks were also good, a cosmopolitan, pear juice, and a forest fruit smoothie that sadly only had traces of fruit and was overly sweet. It did, however, take a decent amount of time to have our food served. Service was good. From what I saw, there were only 2 waiters on a packed Saturday night. What needs improving drastically is the bathrooms, especially the lady's rooms. It is dirty and to be honest a joke, there is a big hole in one of the doors and little bits of artifical moss stuck to it so it wouldn't be so obvious that's its destroyed, ridiculous.

One waiter (I belive he was a waiter but dressed differently) was scratching his back while taking an order. Doors slamming all around us and the way too loud music (not matching with the overall look and feel) was too much for enjoying a meal. Speaking about the meal ... frozen french fries, oily food, a bland sauce I could not define - a watery and faded onion taste (maybe?!?). The higher rating is for the well mannered waitress.

Amazing atmosphere, great music, fun and friendly personnel. The food is very interesting and really tasty, compared to other places in Cluj, the prices are actually good in relation with its quantity. I recommend dearly. Will definitely come back more often!

Big five star for this cute coffee shop! One of the best matcha I drank in a long time, good coffee. It can get very busy at lunch time but other than that it has a good atmosphere. The food got a lot of attention to detail and a good presentation. A bit blend but with a little salt it is doing the job.

Nice coffe shop, you can enjoy a delicious cup of coffee and some nice breakfast. They got many options here, if you check the menu. This time I only went for a chat, coffee and croissant. The inside is decorated beautifully and simplistic, with quite a few greens. Do recommend giving it a visit, and trying out their menu. The waiters were friendly and welcoming. Prices are about average for Cluj.

Ate a tasty burger. The service was really good, but we were the only occupied table. The place has a nice theme, but some decorations look really cheap and I dislike placing radiographies on the tables.

My favorite dish is the chicken parm with gnocchi and mushrooms because it is just amazing. Went there for dinner like any other treat day. The restaurant was full except for the shared social table and I joined in never knowing what to expect. Ended up never wanting to leave. Met new awesome interesting people. The manager joined in a few times but the conversation never felt forced. The place feels modern but keeps the old charm of the building, which makes it stand out in the center of Cluj. Food is tasty with enough options to choose from and service works fast. Prices are fair for the spot and the terrace gives a good view for a relaxed meal.

This is such a cozy and inviting place, especially during the autumn and winter months, the atmosphere is lovely, and the food is absolutely delicious. What felt a bit off, though, was the service. We weren’t really checked in on or asked if we’d like anything more, which left us with the impression that we were somewhat overlooked. It’s a pity, because the location and food are wonderful, and with a bit more attention to guests, the experience could be truly exceptional.

Great place, with terrace outside where you can eat. The inside looks also great. We were passing and stopped to see the menu and the dishes sounded good so we stopped for lunch. I wanted paella but for it I had to wait 50 min so I took the burger instead. I have seen paella to another table and I was sad I didn’t order so I came in the evening to try it. I was there too late, the paella was finished. We also tried pork with mushrooms. That was a great dish! My mom had the mediteranean chicken and was very tasty. In photos you can also see chicken schnitzel. For drinks we got beer, mint lemonade, gigner lemonade - was very sour for my taste and I didn’t feel the ginger. I asked for honey and after sweetening it was all fine. We also got Nuka frappe, was too strong for out taste. The staff is very friendly and doing a good job. I really reccomend! All the food was great. I still regret I didn’t get the paella🙈

The butter chicken curry was really tasty and I liked it. The mango lassi was a bit too sweet for my taste and the overall experience was great. I liked the music, the staff is great and the venue is clean. Looking forward to coming back

We went here and had a curry with rice and naan that tasted amazing! There was a lot of flavor and could definitely eat it again. On top of that, they also make good cocktails.

I first went to a place called Ghandi and left there because of the worst service I have had for as long as I remember. Very fortunate to have turned up here in stead. Excellent support by Robert in making a good vegetarian choice. Food was excellent.

The food was great! So delicious and rich with flavours. Many vegan and vegetarian options. We took the Tofo masala, which was amazing, mango lassi which was very refreshing and sweet, Tiranga chicken which was fresh and delicious as well. Varied Menu. Really recommend. Good service.

Ruma Gastro Bar is a new concept in Cluj and honestly, it’s amazing. Ruma is definitely a must-visit if you’re in Cluj and love good food and great drinks.

Amazing place! I had the pleasure have my wedding lunch there and it was just simply perfect. A combination of an amazingly relaxed environment with the perfect food. Marius, his wife and the team were just perfect the way they took care of everything and every one. Attention to details, availability, and care. Making the the 4 to 5h that we stayed there look like the time stood still. Without forgetting that all this was possible with a simple conversation and exchange of ideas on the phone. Just perfect! I would definitely recommend the share food here. It is really good and fresh, and the owners are constantly changing the menu. The venue is in a calm and chill place, away from the main road.

Brilliant! RUMA's menu is probably among the most interesting mixture of tastes you can try in Cluj. What we loved the most is the atmosphere, it's not in the high class direction, like you see in most new restaurants in Cluj, however their dishes and service are impeccable. Prices are also decent for such a central location. Give the home-made Coca-Cola a try, it's worth it. In terms of food, I loved the beetroot and calamari the most 💪🏼

The location is essentially the old Makeba, so it still has a casual bar-bistro, however they have significantly upped their food and cocktail game since the rebrand. The tapas selection is a great choice for a group of 3, but the mains seem solid as well. Also, big shoutout to the staff, legit some of the best service in Cluj, despite not being a fine dining location.

My experience was utterly ruined by baffling, inattentive and condescending service. Why get told to move if you will put the chairs away, then put the chairs away TWO hours later? Why ask if we are done with our burgers, when we have only taken one bite? Why are empty plates, glasses, and extra menus staying on our table for 30 minutes? Why not get told about the last call? Why not let us know that certain small things would cost extra? Lastly, why would you feel entitled to a tip after all of this and and get offended and act disrespectful once you don't get one? It's a shame, because this place seems to be a great establishment and has good food and drinks.

Rooftop pub with amazing views and delicious food. Famous for its homemade burgers. Run by a lovely family. They are also hosting all kind events in their private closed ballroom with lovely catering. I will definitely come again or host a party here.

Gorgonzola burger was excellent. Fries and onion rings were cold and soggy. Nice place at the rooftop, music was quite loud and quite monotonic(we were there at Sunday around 2 pm). Good place to see the city from above.

Good food in a beautiful but lively courtyard setting. The menu seems to be a mixture of Hungarian and Romanian dishes, with emphasis on the Hungarian.

We had a good dinner here. The food was good, I wouldn’t say it was anything extraordinary. We enjoyed it overall, so no major complaints. The service was slow and the girl who assisted us seemed at times lost. But whatever, we were on vacation so no real rush. They had interesting cocktails and the menu overall had plenty of choices.

Bulgakov is one of those restaurants in Cluj where you’ll never leave hungry, no matter what you order and the prices are decent for the Cluj centre which is quite pricey, more often then not, for no real reason. It’s a Hungarian-style restaurant known for its delicious food and generous portions. We find ourselves returning every now and then, especially when we’re really hungry. This time I had the BFCC (Bulgakov Friday Chicken and Cheese - I'm a cheese lover, CHEEEESE anytime) and it was very tasty, my partner have tocanita de ciuperci but he said it wan't as good as expected. Also the glass of wine has a decent price. The restaurant is quite spacious, and while we usually don’t make a reservation, it’s a popular spot, so it tends to be busy all the time. During the summer, the terrace adds to the charm, creating a lovely atmosphere for dining outdoors. If you're looking for tasty Hungarian food and hearty portions, I definitely recommend Bulgakov!

Our first day in Cluj, and we got caught in a heavy shower on the way to the Botanic Gardens. Hidden down a side street near the old city wall, we found Bulgakov. It has a lovely, quiet, outside courtyard. The waitress was friendly, helpful and quick. Extensive menu and good quality food at very reasonable prices. Altogether a relaxed and enjoyable lunch. Behemoth approved!

I wanted pork steak, they didn’t have any, so I ordered a burger. The burger meat had a lot of cartilages and had a bad taste like it had no condiments. Just plain cooked meat…. Also half of the fries were small hard bits and could not be eaten. The service was good. The prices are a bit lower than other restaurants in Cluj, but I rather get an overpriced burger that is actually good than get this cheaper one.

Outstanding food.! The salad was a simple cucumber, tomatoes, onions, and cabbage. Nothing extraordinary. However, my Moma’s Chicken was exceptional. Very flavorful strong Gorgonzola cheese flavor played a major role in the dish. The prices are very good here, and not as expensive as the other restaurants I’ve been to! Highly Recommend!

Sitting at arm’s length from the next table means conversations lack privacy, which can make the setting uncomfortable and awkward. The food is average—neither impressive nor disappointing—with nice plating being the highlight. The service is inconsistent. One staff member was friendly and welcoming, creating a pleasant interaction, while another appeared disengaged and cold, which made asking for anything feel uninviting. Overall, it’s an okay spot, but the lack of intimacy and inconsistent service weigh it down.

Fabulous! Excellent food! They deserve a Michelin star!!!! Smoked Ham hock was definitely perfect with the wilted cabbage. The wild mushrooms and dumplings were also great. Oh, and good cold draft beer!

The food is quite average and definitely not something I would call tasty. The portions are rather small, and the garlic sauce was simply inedible. On the positive side, the place itself is nice and has a cozy atmosphere inside.

The best restaurant in Romania 🇷🇴 I have spent 9 days in different cities trying out different restaurants and this is the absolute greatest with regards to food’s taste, quality and price + staff friendliness + ambient chillness. For food, we had the best goulash soup I’ve tried in my life (no kidding, I have tried this soups in different cities and countries and this is the most tasty one I’ve ever had) + pork knuckle that was really nicely and evenly roasted + pork neck that tasted even better than some expensive rib eye steak I had. The staff was very approachable when I asked for clarifications and recommendations, and really helpful when I asked for my leftovers to be packed for take away (if you cannot finish your massive pork knuckle - worry no more! Take it away and trust me even in 2 days time it stills tastes amazing: we had it for breakfast when we forgot to buy bread haha). The place has a unique decoration and was elegant but chill, really receptive. The price were more than affordable compared to the quality we obtained (it was around 35€ for two people sharing one starter + 2 mains + 2 drinks). Summing up: ABSOLUTELY RECOMMENDED.

The first feeling is great, rooms look clean and tidy. Once we were seated, the staff noticed us in good time and brought us the menus. We ordered relatively fast and even though the waitress wasn't speaking English on a good level, we communicated somewhat effectively. Prices were good, paying ~18 lei for my food, which was Cluj-style cabbage with sour cream and chilli and bread, was definitely worth it. The meal was of a good size, tasted alright and I'd recommend it. The only downside of the restaurant, that I can think of, is that there wasn't WiFi. I overall recommend the Varzarie.

We ate Garza a la Cluj and it was delicious. The guide told us it was a local dish that we had to taste in this restaurant and it was worth it. We also ate local soup and a salad.

The food was amazing, cheap and we didn't have to wait for it for long. The atmosphere was nice. And the staff was very helpful and tried to accommodate us as best as possible even thought there was a bit of a language barrier. Overall a great experience.

I had a grilled slice of turkey meat with boiled purple cabbage. Everything was delicious, but one think I have to point out was that the meat was slightly burnt from the bottom. Very good service, excellent staff, good food, reasonably priced. It is a good place and is highly recommended for business visits, colleagues or clients or indeed friends and family in the evening. The toilets are clean (& small). The welcome is excellent and you can easily reserve in advance. It has both outdoor and indoor space and works well.

We came here to eat Romanian food and were extremely satisfied. The waiter was super kind, he helped us with his views. The food was amazing. We had corba, grill steak and one chicken dish. The dessert was amazing showstopper, absolutely amazing. The blueberry jam in it was heavenly and fresh. Loved it! The brandy was out of this world! Highly recommended! The restaurant has a cozy ambience and kind people!

We had a really pleasent dinner here. They were obliging, we were reserving the place for 13 people just 30 minutes in advance but they were really accomodating and helpful. The atmosphere is quite nice. We waited a little long for the food but the food itself was beyond delicious. We had a kind and nice waitress, Maria who was really helpful despite the language barrier, she tried her best to make us feel like home and to have a nice evening at the place. Mulțumesc Maria!

I tried one of their traditional meals, pig feet stew, and it was much better than I expect. The meat was cooked soft and mixed so good with the mashed potato on side. At first I was not sure to order it, but when I eat it was like a strong mix of tastes that surprise me. For people who want real Romanian kitchen, this is a dish that you should not miss.

Great food! Good prices, but albeit with a rather long waiting time (for food). Even though the restaurant wasn't overcrowded, we waited a bit too much for the food and especially for the deserts. Last but not least, the music may not be for everyone's taste.

The atmosphere is relaxed and the waiters are polite and to the point, it's definitely and update from the food court. When ordering, you have a good range from where you can choose, starting with the most basic pizzas and continuing with pastas and something called Thors Hammer (intriguing). Relaxed place where the food is good and not complicated. Compared with the fast-food corner in the mall, here you sit calmer and the atmosphere is nicer. The list of dishes has many options, from simple pizza to pasta and even some big plate with meat that looks like a showpiece. Nothing was shocking, but nothing disappointing either. Recently I tried salad and grilled chicken, both tasty enough. For me it works well when I want to eat without rush and spend a quiet lunch.

The food at all Marty restaurants is bad. I have went there so may times, gave so many chances for the past 2 years, at Marty restaurant in Piața Muzeului, Unirii, Platinia and Iulius Mall. But I am sick of this. 1. The drinks and food are overpriced just because they are a brand in Cluj. It might have been the case 10 years ago but now, they have no right reasons for the brand to still be seen as a top one. 2. The quality of the food is really bad. Low quality ingredients, taste as if they have been in the freezer for days and days. By the time the food is on the table is cold. And you can really taste the low quality cooking. 3. Plaiting is as if we are eating in the worst canteen. Cafeteria food is more tasty and I love Memo 10 food for example. I am not picky with food. But if I got to a restaurant, I expect the best and to get the services that I pay for. 4. Service is bad because people that work there tend to pe cocky about it, even if they really have no reason to be like that. The reason I'm writing this review now is because of my experience at Marty Iulius Mall a few days ago. I went there for breakfast and I ordered the Eggs Benedict. The piece of braid with eggs came swimming in hollandaise sauce, absolutely gross looking (I did not taste or touched the food at all). The eggs where cold and the bacon not done. Salad? 2 pieces of dried up rucola. I am sorry I did not make a picture, I was amazed by the plate and the attitude of the waiter that somehow tried to blame it on me, cause they will throw away the food that I had to send back. Not even for a second did he try to take it back to make a new plate, a better cooked one. His explanation was that that is how the food looks and that the menu is just as a title of presentation. Believe me when I say, the food in my plate had nothing to do with what I ordered. And the waiter's attitude made it worst. We where like 6 people there, so it was not a case of "busy restaurant excuse". And as I said, the guy did not do anything about it, just blamed me for throwing the food. If it was so good and proper made, why didn't they eat it? :) I think that we have to take care of ourselves, no one else will.

Nice place. We couldn't order anything salt free except fries. Fries was the only thing they were able to prepare. The rest of the food was great. I ordered the Romanian burger and it was delicious.

Being so centrally located to a very trafficked area, I didn’t expect the food to be so good! They were very busy but still managed to accommodate without a wait, everyone in the restaurant was wonderful and helpful. The absolute best soups I’ve had, arguably better than home cooked meals, and for Romania that’s saying a lot!

Best tomato and mushrooms soup I ever ate, also one of the best pork neck grills in town! Loved the atmosphere, the design and the fast service - even if the place was full, we didn't have to wait for long four our drinks and food. Clean toilets, clean place, also very conveniently place right down in the middle of the old city. Definitely recommend.

Everytime I come to Cluj I come here at least one time for the Hungarian Mushroom Soup. Is my favourite. The food is traditional for the zone. The serving was ok, the guy gave all the orders right but we didn’t interact more. The food portions are very big, after a soup I could only eat half of my portion. I could only think of dessert but had no room in my stomach for it😂 As drink I had Peach’n Maple lemonade - very tasty. My dad had beer Ursus IPA, not great. In photo you see cabbage “as in Cluj” - I didn’t like it. I had Duck confit with mashed potatoes and red cabbage - was good. My mom had turkey stuffed with emmental cheese and my dad pork neck. Honestly, the food is very heavy but that’s how is in the area.

We have visited this café for the first time, we've had the most amazing traditional hungarian dessert, it tasted home made. Just delicious. I cannot wait to come back here for food as well. I highly recommend this place 👌 😉 Edit: We also had dinner and the food was absolutely delicious, it brought me back to my grandmother's cooking, the portions were very generous. To finish, we shared a Medovik dessert — a layered honey cake that was so exceptional, we immediately ordered another one. It was the perfect sweet ending to an already flawless evening. The overall selection of food, wines, and drinks was thoughtfully curated and met every expectation. This was, without a doubt, an unforgettable dining experience, and we will certainly be returning. A Hidden Gem in Romania: Exceptional Dining Experience in Cluj This restaurant is undoubtedly one of the best I’ve tried in Romania. It’s tucked away, so you might miss it if you’re not specifically looking for it. The place has a cozy terrace and an intimate indoor area with around 10-12 tables, creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Our experience was impeccable from the start: we arrived late, around 9:00 pm (Spanish time), without a reservation, and were still greeted warmly. The staff was exceptional. Before seating us, they showed us the menu and carefully explained the dishes to make sure everything was to our liking—a thoughtful touch that made us feel at home. When we asked for Romanian wine, they recommended a dry white off-menu option, which was perfect. The wine had a flavor profile very similar to albariño, ideal for Spanish tastes. Dinner started with a complimentary appetizer and a basket of homemade focaccia, which was delicious—soft and full of flavor from the first bite. We then shared several dishes: an eggplant toast, burrata salad, and a seafood rice with fish and prawns. Everything was exquisitely prepared, with portions just the right size—not too large, not too small. For dessert, we tried their tiramisu, which was also delightful. The ambiance was another highlight. The background music was tasteful and elegant, creating a refined atmosphere that allowed for easy conversation—quite a change from the louder, club-style music common in other Romanian venues. We will definitely return. This is one of the top spots in Romania for enjoying good food, quality wine, and a lively conversation in a beautifully curated setting. The price is around 50 euros per person, taking into account that wine in Romania is quite pricey, with bottles ranging between 35 and 40 euros.

I was expecting something wonderful taking into consideration the hype and the prices. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Average food, average drinks, average location (in fact, worse than average: the chairs are horrible and gave me a terrible back pain)… I cannot say that the food is bad, but it’s not so tasty and exquisite as it seems. The best part of the food was…the bread😃

We had a lovely dinner on the terrace, we arrived around 19:00 and it wasn't too busy, but we had a reservation anyway. Service was efficient and the food was delicious, although portions might be smaller than other places, but for sure it's enough; what's important is the high quality and flavors - which we appreciated 👍 We had the hummus with focaccia, the ratatouille and the duck breast, all delicious and we were very happy. We'll be back to try some other appetizing options we saw in the menu.

This is a lovely place to eat, the food was so tasty and well presented without being pretentious! The atmosphere wasn’t amazing but it was a Wednesday evening so I wasn’t expecting many people to be there! The Rosé wine I had was so tasty and the waitress gave her recommendations for both food and wine. All I would say is we could have done with a few more side dishes to fill us up so I would recommend, between 2 people, to order a main each and 3-4 sides to share.

A nice restaurant but from previous reviews I was expecting more from Manger. The restaurant is at the back of a courtyard, secluded from the noise of the street so that is good. But if you arrive by dark for dinner, the access to the restaurant is romantic but poorly lit and, if you get a rain, could be slippery. The same low light conditions appear within the restaurant. People had to use their mobile flashlight to read the menu. Service was good with a friendly staff. The menu is simple enough and had I think a good variety of food. For starter, I had ordered the salad with cow cheese, which to me, could have been prepared with more taste. It really was as written in the tin, simple cherry tomatoes with not that a great soft cow cheese that it could be enjoyed at the price of the starter. For main, I chose the home made pasta (ravioli) filled with duck comfit. Although it looked rather saucy, it was quite nice and I enjoyed that. I am a dessert person but the cheesecake like dessert with chocolate coating was possibly my favourite. Overall, I'm thinking that place is ok and has the potential to improve on the atmosphere and elaboration of their dishes.

For what you pay the food is very average. You pay for the table near the river. Nothing to brag home about, forgettable food. Gulaș was average, burger was average, risotto average and faded. Not worth the cost. Best to come here for a beer or coffee and call it a day. If you hungry and crave good food this is not the place.

A true diamond in Cluj-Napoca! We visited the place since it was very close to our apartment in Cluj-Napoca. We ordered Risotto, Ravioli filled with Black Angus, Bruschette with prosciutto and the star of that night: Soup of the day All were delicious and served properly. This week when we visited, being December, they had a Christmas tree and Christmas carols playing. This was the thing I loved the most. The atmosphere was lovely. The restaurant has a simple look and and a not that varied menu, but with good food. I've eaten here a few times, pizza is really good, tasty vegetables soup and lovely lava cake. The range of alcohol beverages is medium and so is with non-alcoholic ones. The prices are above average to high. Personnel isn't the most polite and nice, this part can be improved. The serving though is pretty fast. No parking lots right next to it but in Unirii Square there is a public parking area with a affordable price per hour.

Both me and my girlfriend had pizza. I had the pepperoni with sweet tomato sauce and she had the Quattro stagioni with garlic sauce. We both liked our pizzas. The staff changed during our time there and the first waiter was polite and friendly while its succesor was a bit depressed. Overall the place is clean and tidy. Green light for a future comeback.

I kicked things off with the foul, paired with two pita breads that, alas, arrived colder and drier than a desert hermit’s humor. Still, the foul itself? A creamy, dreamy delight. For my main act, I ordered the Kebab Urfali, lured by promises of a “spicy red sauce” that whispered of fiery passion. I begged the waitress to crank the heat, only to be gently rebuffed—she cited the tender palates of local Romanians, who apparently prefer their spice levels set to “mild salsa.” The kebab’s flavor was a standing ovation, but the meat? Lukewarm, like it had been loitering under a lazy sunbeam. Halfway through, it was flirting with room temperature, sliding into a culinary siesta. Our table also sampled the Adana Kebab, which earned polite nods of approval but suffered the same tepid fate. A plate heater in the kitchen could work wonders, keeping dishes hotter than a Beirut summer.

Amazing restaurant, the atmosphere is traditional and the food is really tasty!! However what brings it down are the prices, kind of expensive even for Cluj, almost as expensive as in Western Europe for a main course + dessert (no appetizer and only still water as a drink). But I definitely recommend as a time to time treat! PS: the papanasi are tiny. Not to be mean, but in other locations, you either get a giant one, or 2 small ones for the same price.

The food is good but as the others were complaining about, the customer service is very bad. The waiters do not look after the customers. I had to ask 3 times my waiter for a bootle of water because he was forgetting all the time, and the worst part is that the restaurant wasn’t even full, there were only 2 tables. Shadow has to be one of my favourite places in Cluj, being in the middle of the city, this is a very affordable place if you’re just looking for a quick lunch or dinner, prices aside (because we go out to dinner to enjoy and relax not to be obsessed with pricing), the atmosphere, inside and outside of this restaurant is incredible, staff is some of the friendliest you’ll meet in central Cluj. Because shadow in the evening is particularly busy, the food is constantly fresh, I recommend schnitzel Palermo with a side of garlic sauce, you’ll never order anything else, but of course all their other dishes are great, I highly recommend this restaurant to be your first stop while in our beautiful city, 🇷🇴 I also recommend Visiting upstairs, it’s the door immediately to the right after you enter, there is a bar area and many tables if outside is busy, cheers !

The food is amazing, always fresh and tasty and also the coffee is good. However, there was only the terrace opened when we last visited. The staff told us the place is opened only outside, on the terrace and this is not ok when you eat in cigarettes smoke. I don't understand the negative reviews for this place at all. The bread was freshly made. I literally watched it come out of the oven. The meat was so tender, with lots of flavor. Today, 29.06.2025 around 04:20 an older man serving at the counter tried to scam me. I had to pay 34 RON and handed him a 100 RON bill. After spending some time counting, he only gave me 16 RON back. I had such a great time at this cocktail bar! The terrace is absolutely lovely, perfect for a relaxed evening. I ordered a quesadilla and it was interesting, tasty, but different than the one that I am cooking all the time, as it is my favorite dish. For the cocktail, I had a Limoncello Spritz which was light, refreshing, but a bit too fizzy for my personal taste. Staff were friendly and helpful. I am very appreciated the "bricks" on 11/4/2019, nearly 1730 , with harmonious staff. Firstly, I come inside and feel unexpected peace perhaps it constructs at lower ground floor, just separate the reality. Secondly, the young waiter serves me with full of passion and be patient to introduce the traditional brandy Jidvei and how to taste it for me, amazing! Thirdly, the dishes are cooked well and looks attractive. At the last, athlough the young boy made a mistake for ordering another dish he apologized first then asked me for waiting the right dish, polite and work with enthusiasm. The waitress are gorgeous, just saw her(in black customs) handling large amount of dishes and beverages to serve a 20 ppl family/friend gathering, superwoman performance! The prices in this place are getting out of hand. Prices aside, the term "fast food" does not apply here. You can easily expect to wait 15-20 minutes just to get served when it’s busy and the amount of time they run out of chicken just blows my mind… surely that’s something you should have plenty of and ready to serve. Anyway, my original review of this place was much worse. However, I’ve edited this to reflect the introduction of the electronic ordering kiosks… this frees up staff to prepare your order and solves the issue with people pushing in line. It can still get a bit too busy and the layout of the electric kiosks aren’t very helpful (back to back instead of all facing one way). They could have fit at least one more kiosk if they had just turned them all 90 degrees and had them next to each other. That being said, definitely a major improvement from how it was back in 2022. Just have to work on ensuring there’s enough food and served fast enough, specially when the prices increased 44% in 18 months.

Good food , friendly personal, but with the heating inside it is a problem it's freezing please turn on the heat and don't make economy on that

Dried out, plastic-like chicken meat in the shawarma, stale vegetables (mostly pickles) and almost acceptable sauces, a little impatient service... otherwise nice 😃.

Got sick multiple times, ignored for 2 and some years, tried if because it had been renovated and reopened and bla-bla-bla, got sick again

What a miserable place to eat. Those rolling eyes from the stuff... how they make the food in front of you... Even if you are kind, they are definitely not. I'd think twice who to hire. But the best you can do is to avoid this place. You can find better food and kind staff somewhere else.

I've been multiple times but this time I've vomited all out , made me sick to my stomach, never again.

Not the friendliest staff but the food was actually better than I was expecting. I got crispy with fries and the chicken was actually chicken, closer to what you get at KFC than any I've eaten. I'm still surprised. AND IT WAS CHEAP

Tasty doner!! The girls were very proficient. They speak English. Dine in is available. They offer takeout and over the phone orders. Bathroom is available. Prices are very reasonable. Parking is by the side of the street. In case no parking spot by the restaurant then you have to walk a little bit. Cheers

The new location looks good and they have the same team as they had in the old place. It might be that they don't have a lot of customers in this period and therefore quality of the food is not great. From my point of food, even though it's a fast-food, the taste is not as good as it used to be. Hopefully they will solve this and they will have a 5 star.

Ordered and paid with a card for delivery, after a really long wait I got a phone call from the delivery guy (I will analyze below more details) and he was insisting for me to go downstairs, outside to get the food. I explained that it was not possible and he told me that he will leave with a very bad manner, tone of voice and language. I talked with the delivery app and told them the situation and that I decided not to get the food after the way I was treated. Later on another delivery guy came, and called us the second delivery guy was very calm and cooperative to discuss but we already cancelled the order now through the app. He explained that the previous delivery guy was not a delivery guy, but the Doner Place payed a taxi driver to come and bring the food. A taxi driver that is not verified and not qualified through any hygienic means to touch the food that I will put in my mouth. A very unprofessional way from the Doner Place, as it shows how much attention they give for hygiene and service of the customer.

Amazing food at a very good price. Fast serving. Great staff and the line usually moves quickly. Open 24hrs. The only downside is that it's kind of hot inside, especially if you sit close to the kitchen, but it's manageable. Overall great experience

I ordered the food at 5:30PM, it arrived at 8:00. The food was delivered by taxi, I had to dress up and go outside to pick it up from the taxi driver. The food was cold and dry, the meat seemed to be old and not tasty at all. The food panda operator told me that they were overwhelmed by the orders, which is fine. My question is: why on earth don't you stop the app if you cannot handle the orders to keep the quality of your service? Of course, the question is a rethorical one. To make as much money as possible, no matter what the quality is. I will never order again and I don't recommend at all.

The prices are relative ok with the quality of the food. If you are out on a weekend night in the city center, for a drink/party and you want to eat something before heading home, this is the place (we all know that feeling when you are a little tipsy , a kebab or shawarma always is good). It is 24h open. The place doesn't look at his best, it could be a little more cleaner, I do not know.. it misses something.

Think twice if you want to order food through delivery. First of all, they handle the delivery themselves even if you order with Glovo. There are no updates about the delivery, no status, nothing. We had to wait 2 hours for 2 plates when, initially, they gave out an estimate up to 70 minutes, which is still massive. Get your act together or stop delivering!
