Fine dining restaurant
Eala Bhan is a relaxed restaurant located in the heart of Sligo Town, specializing in locally caught seafood and prime steaks. The charismatic owner, Anthony Gray, has turned his dream into reality with this establishment. The restaurant has won numerous awards, including best restaurant in Connacht. Its cool urban brasserie bistro decor and well-spaced tables create a welcoming ambiance.
If I could give this restaurant 12 out of 10, I would. The food (all locally sourced) was absolutely delicious and the presentation was gorgeous. The staff were extremely friendly and professional. They have a great selection of whiskey. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and we were fortunate enough to get a table by the window looking out onto the river. Although quite pricey, they serve 5 star food that is definitely value for money, especially the pre-theatre menu (from 17:00-18:20). This was our favourite restaurant in Sligo!

A fantastic meal by the river side in wonderful Sligo, fitting given the name inclusive of swans meandering downstream on arrival. We enjoyed an absolute fantastic meal full of bountiful and locally sourced flavours. A pleasure in all. The only downside was the portion size being on the large size, fit for a burly Irish farmer of which I am unfortunately not. This widely celebrated restaurant has the Michelin Guide firmly in its sights and with a modernised, yet charming interior refit and streamlining of an already spectacularly organic and native produce this restaurant will secure the right praise at a higher level. Thank you, we will return.

Disclaimer: I received no incentive or kickback for this review. My family and I had a wonderful tea this afternoon. Even before our reservation, Anthony reached out to make sure there were no dietary restrictions or allergies. Upon arrival, the staff had our table ready, with a highchair by the front window. Our waitress was top notch and quickly brought us a beautiful spread of tea, coffee, sandwiches and treats. It was a very special treat for us. We would happily eat here again in the future! 10/10

We dined at The Ella Bhan during our European vacation, and it did not disappoint. The food was exceptional, carefully crafted dishes made from the heart. The staff were warm, courteous, and genuinely friendly. We only wish we could dine there again! Highly recommended. The desert was out of this world. We almost didn’t eat it as it was an art piece.

We went for the tasting menu. 8 courses of Devine food And they customised our desert for our anniversary. The best food and service I’ve had ever

Eala Bhan is the best cuisine I ve experienced in The Wild Atlantic Way Area. They deserves every compliments. Very warm welcoming staff, helpful waiters and the kitchen team. They are taste magicians I guess. I ate fish, meat and chicken at the same menu and all of them were a masterpiece. Must try point if you in Sligo and I highly recommend.
Cemre B — Google review
The staff and chef are excellent, some very creative dishes everyone should like. Everything locally sourced and it's very good, great job. Everyone we knew over the past three days have been there more than once, so a good cross section of us truly enjoyed. Just some minor things, steak not the best but very good, some minor things but we will surely be back.

Eclectic restaurant
Coach Lane Restaurant @ Donaghy's Bar is a charming and popular spot in Sligo, established since 1994. The restaurant offers a diverse menu featuring seafood, steaks, and pasta. The downstairs bar provides a relaxed atmosphere with red-checkered tablecloths and serves comforting dishes like fish pie and beef-and-Guinness stew.
An absolute gem! We ate at the Coach Lane Grill and Pub on a Monday evening and we will definitely be back. The staff are extremely friendly. The food was absolutely delicious. My husband had the Best Burger Ever and I had the Yummy Fisherman’s Pie. The dishes’ names really set one’s expectations high but they most certainly did not disappoint. Great atmosphere and a wide selection of drinks.

It was a friend’s Birthday and our Waitress Nicole made it extra special with her exceptional service. Food was outstanding and very generous portions. Would highly recommend and will definitely be returning. Very happy customer.

Would've given it 7 stars if I could. The service was impeccable - the guys opened the lane for us and our two doggies. The guiness was fresh and the food was unbelievable! Irish pub cosine elevated to a Michelin star reataurant level. Highly recommended!

Absolutely spectacular!!! This bread was the best bread I've ever tasted. It was even better than anything I've ever made myself. I can't believe how good it was. The lamb shank was very tasty and the carrot and parsnip puree was out of this world. I'm not usually a fan of puree, but this was fantastic. The hot red cabbage was a nice balance to the lamb shank, potatoes mash and gravy. I must say, this place gets 5 stars from me!!!

Visited with my sister and fiance and I have to say 10/10 no notes at all. I was stuck between two wines they brought a taster of both. I ordered steak rare got it perfectly rare served with mash, baked potatoes, creamed carrots and pickled red cabbage absolutely delicious didn't finish it all. Despite being busy the server was diligent and checked in at all the right intervals I can say expensive as it was the quality and service was UNMATCHED would happily pay the same money again in a heartbeat but would go in hungrier next time so as to try their dessert menu

Professional feeling restaurant establishment. Feels like a good place for family and business occasions. Nice, friendly and accommodating staff.

I loved the atmosphere 😍 cosy and lovely place. For starter, I ordered Tortillini, the main dish was beef, and the desert was a mix of tiramisu, creme brulle, and fruit cake with coffee. even though beef was a medium cooked one, it was one of the most delicious food 🥰 portions of main and starter were so big but desert was small. I absolutely recommend it 😊

Great spot! We've been a couple of times already and plan on going back. The restaurant was closed in January, but the food at the pub is also great! I had the chicken parmigiana and it was delicious, the breast was perfectly breaded and still moist, which is no easy feat. It was laid on a bed of pasta and well made tomato sauce, and covered with cheese. I loved the detail that they give you a spoon for the linguini, which in many places (even Italian ones) I have to ask for in order to eat it properly. The fish pie had a lovely filling and sauce, and the apple pie for dessert was scrumptious. The day was cold, but the place was warm and had a lovely fireplace on. Espresso Martini was well made. Definitely recommend!

Seafood restaurant
Hooked Restaurant in Sligo offers a romantic dining experience with artisan, locally sourced food. The restaurant is known for its high-quality seafood and other dishes made from fresh ingredients. It's a great place to enjoy a delicious meal while visiting Sligo. Additionally, the area boasts several other top-rated restaurants and bakeries that offer a variety of culinary delights, making it an ideal destination for food enthusiasts.
Hooked Restaurant was a fantastic dining experience from start to finish. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, with fast and efficient service that made everything seamless. The chicken tenders with their signature sauce were a standout, perfectly crispy and full of flavor and the chicken burger was equally delicious. The ambience was modern and inviting, making it a great spot to enjoy a relaxed and satisfying meal. Highly recommended!

As seen on TikTok, is what you see on the menu, and written on many things. Now, we didn't see the food on TikTok before coming to this place. We did book, before coming, but it wasn't that busy for a regular dinner service and there were enough seats left for people to come in, if they wanted to. Now, we wanted to try all the recommended food, so we ordered them all, the fried chicken, the loaded fries, the fish and chips. Now I have to say, I wasn't impressed by the food at all. While being the the restaurant, I watched several of the videos on TikTok, and people described it as it is the food you should absolutely have. My question remains, what happened? Did I get an unlucky day? Or did the cook have a bad day? The chicken was dry, not moist at all. Flavour was fine, but you still want the juices to be good. The loaded fries, it wasn't loaded. And the fish and chips, certainly not the amount I would normally see on a plate. I was rather disappointed after the fact that I read about the 'as seen on TikTok' and the food just being average. Now, if I would have seen the videos of tiktok before, I would have come and tried the food. But I am not really impressed by it. The sizes of the food, very little. If you have a dish called loaded fries, it should be loaded, and not have 4 pieces of chicken and a few fries and then call it loaded. We could easily eat 3 dishes per person, and still finish another dessert afterwards. As for the service, it wasn't busy in the restaurant at all, and yet it was just dinner time. The waiters had no idea what they were doing, they kept going back to one colleague who could answer our questions. We had the idea there were multiple new waiters working that particular day and therefore, although you have 3 wakfers walking around, none of them had any knowledge on the menu or the food ingredients or allergies. A bit pity, also, despite the fact that you have more colleagues working, it would take rather long to get your newly ordered drinks. I do not want to be complaining about the people as everyone always tries their best. The amount of times taking our drink order wrong, or even forgetting it, was something that is mention able. But like written, maybe they had all new employees that day. The atmosphere is great though, the restaurant looks good! Very cosy, and good looks, I like it very much. The biggest question is, would I recommend this place? For the food? No, I wouldn't, just average food, for an average price. For the service, nothing in particular. For the place, good location, good relaxing place, meeting interesting other customers. It could have been me, maybe I didn't see the viral videos on this restaurant yet...

Lovely afternoon buzz about the place and very pleasant staff who were attentive and polite. Unfortunately the food didn’t keep the pace. Dirty fries were very poorly cooked frozen chips with 4 small pieces of frozen goujon scattered on top and a smidgen of peanut sauce. Looked better than it tasted.

Great food here. Welcomed by all friendly staff. Lots of food options to choose from. Food was fresh, warm and tasted great! Highly recommended!

Roughly 6:15PM and already hungry, went to Hooked as recommended by someone. Very few people in the restaurant. Had to wait to be seated, the young waiter had to asked his manager, twice. First, because I haven't booked, was asked to go outside (sorry I'm from south of France, it was too chilly for me to seat and eat in the shade) and a second time to report to him my answer. So, he let me get the table just beside the door and asked for me to leave before 7:20PM. Of course, I'm here for a quick bite and I'm alone and have no one to talk to, so yep I will be quick. Finished my (very tasty) korean friend chicken in less than 30mn, had to see the manager greet every table except mine. Had to witness 2 groups (3 and 5 people) be seated without booking with lot of ease. Had to wait 10mn after asking the young waiter for the bill ... I did my part but Hooked didn't. Never felt as unwelcomed as in here. I was so upset and disappointed, I left the restaurant crying... not my first time alone in a restaurant in Ireland, not my first time as I solo-traveled in Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium... and twice already in Ireland in various cities and counties (Dublin, Galway, Cork, Killarney, Dingle...). Not recommended for solo travellers.

American restaurant
Flipside in Sligo town has been voted as the best burger joint in Ireland for its exceptional culinary experience. Since its establishment in October 2018, Flipside has redefined the burger scene with a focus on quality and innovation. The restaurant prides itself on using only the freshest ingredients, including locally sourced grass-fed Aberdeen Angus beef from Sligo. Their menu offers a variety of options, from specialty beef and chicken burgers to delicious salads and vegetarian choices.
Best burger and milkshakes in Sligo! ⭐ Flipside is a must-visit! The burger was juicy, flavour-packed, and cooked just right, and the fries were perfectly crispy. We also had their milkshakes – creamy, indulgent, and the perfect sweet treat to pair with the meal. The atmosphere is fun and relaxed, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Definitely coming back!

We took 2 burgers that were excellent, sorry they weren't bigger! we took fries that were good, but for 2 it's a little bit just if you're hungry. the sundae were good, a little too "chemical" for the strawberry but it was even hearty, perfect to satisfy us but it took a dessert ! I recommend
Manon G — Google review
I wanted to like it more than I did. The service and the atmosphere are nice. The burgers are on the sweeter side, and the portions are underwhelming for the price. The relish overpowers everything else in one of the burgers. The fries were decent, but again, way too small of a portion.
Anastasis V — Google review
It’s a beautiful burger joint !! I am glad we bumped into this place while in Sligo. The interiors are pretty amazing - very vibrantly lit and decorated !! The staff were very cordial, active, and kind. They did their best to make sure that we are comfortable and enjoying our dinner. We are vegetarians so ordered both the veg burgers - gamechanger and pesto AND one of the salads - pesto. Everything was delicious and freshly cooked. We really liked the taste. Just a small feedback regarding the salad - it will be great if we can make it more healthy (since it’s salad), with less sauces and salt 😅 But that’s maybe a personal preference. Overall we really liked the place and would strongly recommend it to anyone who’s in Sligo. Will visit again :) Thank you 🙌🙏
Akash T — Google review
Food was amazing. Wish they had more than 1 vegan option for our family members. Wish they asked the table near by to quiet down since they were so loud we couldn't hear our waitress. More dessert options would be nice as well.

Nice american restaurant with AMAZING BURGERS.... it was really very delicious.. I can eat this every day... very very good.. personal were very friendly always with smile...its very busy perfect place for tasty food...

This wasn't food. This was poetry. We came here two nights in a row, after being hooked on night 1. It is a burger restaurant, not some chique place. There are chicken, beef and vegetarian options, various kinds of fries and the most delicious korean chicken wings. Portion sizes are very genereous and denfinitely worth the money! Everything is delicious. Now to the staff and the manager: gorgeous! Everyone is nice, positive, forthcoming... you get in a happy mood as soon as you arrive just because of the lovely staff! It's a pity we won't be able to come here more often. For everyone visiting Sligo: this is an absolute must-go if you love burgers ❤️❤️❤️ Ps: THOSE KOREAN WINGS!!

Italian restaurant
Located in the heart of Sligo's Italian Quarter, Bistro Bianconi has been a beloved establishment since its opening in 1993. Renowned for its wood-fired gourmet pizzas like the Michelangelo and Vegetariano, this bistro also offers classic fresh pasta dishes and lasagna. A signature favorite is the chicken bocconcini with glazed ham and cheese.
I haven't been in years! As we were in town for the St. Patricks Day parade, and we thought we would pop in and see if we could get a table. The smell as you walked in the door instantly made your tummy grumble. We were so lucky to get a table as the place was buzzing. Very friendly staff, lovely menu and so nice to find a place with a decent size table now a days. I got the steak, my husband got the chicken florentine and my daughter a pizza. All came out hot, fresh, and together. Everything was superb. We will definitely make more of an effort to come back in the future.

We had an amazing experience at Bistro Bianconi. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with a cozy yet vibrant ambiance that made us feel right at home. Our server, Beth, was an absolute star, incredibly kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. She recommended the house special Hot Honey Pepperoni Pizza, which was phenomenal. The balance of sweet and spicy flavors on a perfectly crisp crust made it one of the best pizzas we’ve ever had. The chefs clearly put heart into every dish. To top it all off, we enjoyed a delicately prepared tiramisu that was light, creamy, and the perfect ending to a great meal. Beth’s service truly made the night memorable. She was sweeter than the dessert and made us feel genuinely cared for. We left with full hearts and satisfied taste buds. Highly recommend Bistro Bianconi for anyone looking for great food, fantastic service, and a wonderful dining atmosphere.

My new favourite restaurant in Sligo. Central location, great vibe, lovely staff, excellent food and wine. I recommend their signature dish. Absolutely delicious! Parking is a bit tricky, especially in the evening when most of the big car parks are closed. On street parking is free after 7.

The food was spectacular! We came after closing but they were nice enough to still serve us. The service was excellent. The olives are delicious. And the specialty pasta is a must to order! It is the best pasta dish I have ever had! The noodles tasted homemade, the chicken was cooked perfect, and the flavor was so tasty. I wish I had this restaurant where I live, it would be frequented often.

I had a great experience. I personally liked my own meal, the fish of the day that I forgot the name of, but it was a bit chewy but I think that’s just me. And my mom’s margarita pizza was the best cheese pizza I’ve ever tasted. Brother’s Chicken wings were a bit bland. But overall very good! Waiter was friendly and the atmosphere was cosy and overall great experience.

Gastropub
Located in Sligo, Ireland, Hargadon Bros is a historic pub established in 1868. The pub features wood-paneled snugs, stone floors, clay jugs, and bottled alcoves that create a charming atmosphere. Known for its flawless preservation and warm ambiance in the afternoons, Hargadon Bros is popular among locals and visitors alike. The pub offers delicious locally sourced food and a friendly staff.
We stayed in Sligo for three days, and this was our favorite pub. There's just something about it that made us feel right at home. Brooding and cozy at the same time, perhaps? :) The first time we were there we ordered a charcuterie board w/ cheese and garlic/cheese fries. Loved it and came back for the second time the next day, and I got to try their strawberry feta salad and their pecan coffee mouse. The next time we're Sligo, that's where we will go for dinner.

Outstanding meal. The honey and lime baked salmon was delicious. The salmon was cooked perfectly and the peas and carrots were crisp and fresh. The spinach and parmesan salad was a small side but fresh as well. Pecan coffee mousse was light and flavourful. Service was attentive and the atmosphere was very cozy. All around great experience.

Amazing atmosphere with live music. Very kind staff. The pub has a very cool traditional wooden interior. We even got a separate dining room if that's what you want. The lamb stew was amazing. I just would have liked a bit more mashed patatoes in it. It was pretty busy, so if you are a bif group, I would recommend making a reservation beforehand. They immediately offered us a free bottle of cold tap water, which was very convenient. They have baby portions, which are a very nice thing to have. Especially if you have a baby so you don't have to share. I would definitely recommend this place when visiting Slego!

It was recommended for food by another bar in Sligo, but my husband's hake, mashed potatoes and snap peas a disappointment. Hake dry and mushy, poatoes over whipped and snap peas were big pods, peas past their best. I had mussels and they were delicios a whole kilogram. Waiter could be more attentive. Atmosphere dark and seating very uncomfortable for dining.

The bakeshop prides itself on creating exquisite breads and pastries using high-quality natural ingredients. Visitors can also enjoy their delectable offerings at the Strandhill Market every Sunday, alongside treats from Blacksheep Bakery and coffee from Carrow Coffee.
Hearty breakfast options. Friendly staff. Busy vibrant atmosphere.

We arrived here just in time for lunch. There’s a soup and salad bar, hot food section, coffees and teas, and baked treats — pretty much everything you need and service was efficient. I had the soup of the day (sweet potato and coconut soup) with bread of your choice (I chose soda bread, of course). That was rather filling, but left me just enough room for desserts. I got a takeaway mixed berry crumble with the option of whipped cream, custard or ice-cream as a topping. Highly recommend the custard (see photo - it speaks for itself). 10/10 from me as it wasn’t too sweet. The tartness of the berries were refreshing and the custard complements it if not elevate the whole dish. Would def come back again!

The best food we’ve had on our holiday in Ireland! We stopped there after a recommendation from Catherine who runs the ‘Home in County Sligo’ Airbnb, and were so pleased to have done so. My daughter said it was the best sandwich she’d ever eaten (Lebanese style chicken). And the pork roast was amazing too. Big shoutout to the chef!!

Lyons Café and Bakeshop is such a lovely spot. The place feels warm and welcoming, with a nice mix of locals and visitors. The coffee is really good, and their baked goods are fresh and full of flavour — especially the scones, they’re a must-try. The staff are friendly and make you feel right at home. It’s a great place to sit and relax, whether you're having a quiet coffee alone or catching up with a friend. Definitely worth stopping by if you’re in the area and want something tasty in a cosy setting.

My second time and I will start by saying the food is worth giving it a go. My first time I had a Greek burger, mash and veg that was lovely. This time was a breakfast sandwich that was also plenty filling and tasty. I've also gotten their bread (same as the bap was on) downstairs in the bakeshop and it's definitely welcome at home any time. I didn't try any of the tarts and pastries I have pictured here but based on the meals/bread I have had, I'd say you won't be disappointed in taste. The service, however, is hit and miss. I've been in the bakery and the two young ladies were upbeat, friendly and patient as I figured out what I wanted on a first visit. I've been other occasions and observed with myself and others the service seems a bit curt/short based on if they know the customer or not. As well, upstairs, I had a wonderful experience with the gentleman who served me the Greek plate but felt almost like an intrusion getting my breakfast. Each question was a bit impatiently answered and the breakfast board pointed at before she walked away. Not the most welcoming experiences - which is surprising given the general kindness I've felt since moving to Sligo. Pictures are from #8Nov2022

What a find. We almost didn't go in but so glad we did. Great atmosphere, wooden floors, clattering cutlery and teacup, idle chatter. So relaxing. So good we went back for lunch. Wonderful fresh healthy salad plates, herbal teas. Highly recommend.

A consistently good quality lunchtime eatery. It's not open in the evenings, self service. Dishes change regularly. It's popular, smaller tables so I think good for max 4 people.

Friendliest and most attentive staff in town! The warmth and welcome of the staff is amazing! And prepares you for some of the best and well prepared food you can imagine! The presentation is fantastic, but the flavours and taste are to die for! Bridgefoot is one of the top 2 places to eat in Sligo! Thank you again for the amazing food and delightful service

It was my first time here. I was with a group, and we ordered from the early bird menu, which was a reasonable price. While waiting for the starters, we had bread for the table, and the rosemary bread was delicious. All the food was very tasty. The portions looked small, but actually, they were enough that you left happy but not stuffed. The staff were great, very attentive, and they gave service with a smile. They carry a good range of wine's, craft, and bottled beer's. It was an enjoyable experience and would recommend a visit.

I went there a couple of times because I always enjoyed the food. They have a touch of fancy cousine. I had the codfish with an amazing almond sauce on the side and it was super tender. Also tried the oysters with different sauces, also quite good and cheap (2,6€ per oyster or 15€ for 6 if you'd prefer). The girls from the staff were just so joyful, I want to be friends with them :p I didn't like the salted caramel crumble tho, as it was extremely salty and sweet.

Incredible quality restaurant with great options. A beautiful restaurant with a very cozy atmosphere. A really contagious atmosphere. The chefs are undoubtedly super dedicated, especially the super friendly and kind chef Diego Javiel. Worth every moment of the experience.

Had pork cheek to start, and half lobster with papaya salad. Partner had chicken chicharone served with a very spicy thai sauce & pork belly for main. Absolutely stunning food, pork cheek was the highlight, meat just fell apart and potatoes were so creamy. The papaya salad was excellent, real fresh with a nice kick. The chocolate mouse was rich & loved the coconut/lime ice-cream, really light and fresh. Highly recommend, top class food at decent prices

Lovely meal. Great choice on the menu and looked like we could have chosen any dish. We all had different mains and there were clean plates all round.

lovely restaurant with fantastic staff and some of the best food we have ever eaten. A must visit on any trip to Sligo. On our first visit we had the slow cooked short rib of beef and chips and it is amazing. Beef melts to the touch, sauce is just the right amount of sweet and the thai salad is fresh with a just enough of a kick. And if you thought chips couldn't be improved on, try the triple cooked chips, unbelievably tasty. Second visit was around lunchtime and although the beef was not on the menu until later they russled it up for us. it was just as tasty as the first time. Will be back to try other dishes.

Brunch restaurant
Osta Cafe and Wine Bar is a popular spot known for its gluten-free options, making it an attractive choice for those with dietary restrictions. However, some visitors have expressed concerns about the accuracy of their orders, particularly in relation to gluten-free items. Despite this, the cafe is praised for its delicious food when orders are correct. The establishment is also part of the vibrant culinary scene in Sligo, as evidenced by its participation in events like the Sligo Tapas Trail.
Osta was one of my favorite brunch spots for all the years I was in Sligo. Great atmosphere, lovely staffs and good food, what else can one ask for. The egg Benedict was my go to, the smoothies are absolutely delicious as well. Great view of the river garavogue on days we could sit outside.

Having a full Irish breakfast, and some sandwiches and pancakes, not bad! The price was fair, the food was nice. Although I wouldn't have minded a slightly bigger portion. It wasn't really impressive for something called Full. The food was good, and delicious. Although it was a regular weekday, it was very busy, we had to wait for somewhat 15-20 minutes, before we were seated, and once seated, we had to wait somewhat 10 minutes before we could order. But with the location and the atmosphere, it was absolutely worth it. Beautiful location, and very cosy with all the people around you. Although it was busy, it wasn't too loud, and you could easily have a good conversation with your partner. There was even seats outside, alongside the river, very beautiful. I would absolutely recommend coming here for having a good coffee or tea, and then have a cake or anything, but the lunch is rather on the cheap side. Maybe not for a next time, but the cake and tea, absolutely yes!

I can't explain how much we loved the restaurant, it was a fantastic evening... We went with a group on Thursday. We ordered all the menu set to try them. The staff were so friendly and nice. The music was amazing, the players were so professional....I absolutely recommend it and I'll go back as soon as I find free time to enjoy my evening I recommend to reserve your table in advance so you have a secured place to sit specially on Thursdays that they have live music

We stopped by to have breakfast and we couldn't be happier about our decision. The breakfast was amazingly good. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The views from the cafe are also spectacular. You can be drinking coffee beside the river. I truly recommend this place.

Friendliest people you could meet working there - particularly brown haired man (Monday 23/06). Great coffee & delicious eggs. I was awkward and ordered the eggs Benedict without ham (am vegetarian) & they happily offered kale and mushrooms instead. Top class service and delicious food. Lovely to sit outside by the river. 10/10 recommend!

I spent around €18 at Osta Café and Wine Bar for a solo lunch, and it felt like money well spent. I ordered the toasted goat cheese and beetroot sandwich, which was rich and full of flavour — the kind of combination that’s clearly thought out and not just thrown together. Alongside it, I had a flat white that was smooth and strong, just right for a midday pick-me-up. Finished it off with a fresh scone served warm with butter and jam — light, crumbly, and absolutely hit the spot. The atmosphere at Osta is calm and classy, but still very welcoming. It’s the kind of place where you can relax by the riverside and take your time. Whether you're stopping in for coffee or sitting down for a longer meal, it feels just right — not too formal, not too casual. Service was solid too. The staff were friendly without being over the top, and they had everything out in good time. You can tell they’re used to regulars and treat new faces just the same — with a bit of warmth and a smile.

****Original review of 2 stars**** I stopped a local on the street and asked where would she recommend for lunch and she pointed out here so off we set. My husband and I and two kids both under the age of 4 secured a table outdoors at about 2.30pm on Wednesday. We asked for a highchair which we got. We waited a few minutes for menus then we decided on our order. A waitress came to take our order: we originally were going to order soup of the day, open ham sandwich and croque monsieur. We were told that there was no longer soup available or any ham left so we couldn't order either the ham sandwich or croque monsieur. She asked did we want another few minutes to decide, we said yes. Nearly 10 minutes later when there was no sign of the waitress, I waved at another to take our order. Order taken of chicken and spring onion Mayo sandwich@ €6.75; 3 egg omelette with all listed toppings @ €10.50; Breakfast bap €7.20; 2x Babyccinos €1.80; Americano €2.50 & Cappucino €3.20. Coffees arrived relatively promptly in dribs and drabs-Americano 1st, then the Babyccinos but I had to ask for the Cappucino. After 15 minutes of a wait after the last drink arrived, we had to ask where the food was as the kids were getting restless and we were ravenous. Others who came in after us who were seated indoors got served before us. At this stage, we asked how long more our food would be and were told a lot of orders came in together. We were on the verge of leaving. We were told 10 more minutes, I pointed out that my Cappucino was long gone at this stage thinking they may offer another, they didn't. Only after we complained and asked how long more did our food eventually arrive, 30 minutes after we ordered and 40-45 minutes after we had originally sat down. When a different waitress dropped it down, I said we thought the wait had been ridiculous and we were very disappointed & that it wasn't good enough. She apologised. The food was excellent to be fair once we got it but the good had gone out of the meal. I went to pay and told the girl that we were happy with the food but the wait was far too long and was told that they were short staffed today and that we should have been told when we ordered. I said because of this I wasn't leaving a tip. She said she understood. Service needs serious improvement. Staff came across as inexperienced and offered no redress. I wouldn't return nor recommend as a result. *********5 star 2nd review********* Redress kindly & promptly offered by owner after our first experience here so 2nd visit in a week by my husband and I and two kids. Everyone has off days and moments. Today, we ordered 3 egg omelette with all the trimmings, Eggs Osta and half portion of pancakes with maple syrup to share for the kids, a Cappucino, an Americano and two glasses of milk for the kids. Service matched the excellent food on this occasion. My husband said it was the best breakfast (Eggs Osta) he had had in a long time and my omelette was delicious. Keep up this standard of service and thank you.

When ordering for delivery, write on the note that you need cutlery. Sitting in A and E for 4 hours now. May be here for another 4 and ordered for delivery but forgot to add "please add cutlery" in the delivery. So I guess I won't be eating the meal hot and so do not know how it tastes and cannot comment to that.

(Applicable to all Veggie Indian Groups and families) Good Indian restaurant if you want a quick change in pallet after eating a lot of carbs! The food quality is good and up to the mark. Some of us fellow Indian may not like as much, but make sure that you request the manager and the waiting staff about your requirements when they ask you. They will make sure to make it as per your taste. All in all, a good restaurant and a good find for us during our Ireland and N Ireland road trip. I would recommend it.

The food was awful we had to explain the order 3 times still the waiter didn’t understood the order the manager then came and checked with us the order was correct or not but the order he received from his waiter was incorrect, the food which was supposed to taste spicy tasted sweet. Worst experience ever.

I recently visited this restaurant and ordered the dal. Let me tell you — it was spicy. And not just “a bit of a kick” spicy, but the kind of spicy that burns on the way in… and on the way out. I love dal. I know it’s not necessarily meant to be spicy — it can be flavorful, aromatic, comforting. But this one? It came with fire, and no warning. They really should have mentioned it on the menu. A spicy memory, in every sense.

Chinese restaurant
Mandarin Court Chinese Restaurant, situated on Wine Street in Sligo, Ireland, offers an authentic Chinese dining experience. Despite a mix-up with an order for vegetarian spring rolls, the food is described as excellent with fresh vegetables and perfectly prepared fried rice. While some find the manager to be unfriendly, the floor staff make up for it with their friendliness. The restaurant is praised for its superb crispy fried duck and high-quality produce despite being a bit pricey.
Has to be the best Chinese in sligo. It's a bit on the pricey side, but you can tell you're getting your moneys worth with the quality of the produce.

They made a mistake initially, giving us meat filled spring rolls instead of the vegetarian we had requested. However, once this mistake had been cleared up the food turned out to be excellent. Veg was fresh and fried rice was perfectly prepared. The only other caveat I would have is the manager is quite curt and unfriendly but the floor staff more than make up for this in friendliness. Overall a really nice place to get some nice Chinese food!

Supermac’s & Papa John’s Sligo is a delightful fast-food haven that serves up an array of American-style favorites, including mouthwatering burgers, crispy chicken, fresh fish, and delicious sandwiches. While the food experience can vary—some dishes may hit the mark while others might not be as memorable—the overall vibe of the restaurant remains inviting and friendly. Patrons often appreciate the quick service that ensures you won’t have to wait long for your meal.
I visited Burger King recently and decided to try the classic Whopper. I have to say, it really lived up to its reputation! The burger was fresh, juicy, and packed with flavor — everything you’d want from a Whopper. The vegetables were crisp, the bun was soft, and the meat had that perfect flame-grilled taste that makes Burger King stand out. What impressed me even more was the service. My order was taken quickly, and I didn’t have to wait long at all before my food was ready. The staff were welcoming, polite, and made sure everything was in order with my meal, which really added to the overall experience. The restaurant itself was clean and comfortable, which made it a nice place to sit down and enjoy the food. It’s clear that the team there takes pride in keeping things running smoothly. Overall, I had a really positive experience great food, fast service, and friendly staff. I’ll definitely be coming back again, and I’d recommend this Burger King to anyone looking for a quick but delicious meal!

The worst Supermac's I've ever been to. The kiosks didn't work. I tried to make an order at the counter but was met by a staff member who hardly spoke English and got my order completely wrong that I nearly had to spell it out for him. The wait time to get my food was very long despite the promises not being very busy. I ordered a coffee on the go and the machine wasn't working and it took ages for a member of staff to rectify the problem. The food was delicious and the restaurant was clean at least
Barry G — Google review
The food was average, and unfortunately, the coffee machine was not working properly, brewing cold coffee instead of hot. I’m not sure what the issue was, but since hot coffee was the main reason for our visit, it was disappointing to receive what tasted like coffee diluted with cold water. However, the atmosphere of the place was pleasant and welcoming.
Taimoor — Google review
I placed an online order, but their app is a joke. The promotional price wasn’t reflected in the bill, and they only accepted the order when I arrived at the counter to collect the food. On the bright side, I received it quickly since it was just fried chicken.

Saturday June 7th, sometime after 8pm I was in this establishment for a quick meal as I have often done before being a regular customer. I am absolutely appalled by the unprofessionalism of an argument breaking out in a workplace and being heard by the customers. It sounded like an older male voice attacking and belittling younger female staff. It sounded like an extremely heated argument and set an extremely uncomfortable atmosphere across the shop. The staff working at the tills look visibly uncomfortable during the altercation. Staff members coming from the back of the establishment were clearly upset. I’m extremely disappointed as I often dine here but this experience has put me off ever coming back. To hear what I can only assume senior staff/a manager member handling a situation with younger staff so poorly is extremely unacceptable. I was enjoying a pleasant meal in this establishment up until this point.

Last weekend was my second visit to this place. Is a reasonably good family restaurant, it's roomy, it's clean and there's good parking also they got the order correct. It's big problem is it's wait time. The first time I was here we waited over 40 minutes for food from the time of order, this time was slightly better at 32 minutes. There are 5 of us so that's essentially 5 drinks, 5 chips and a selection of burgers or nuggets. Neither time was particularly busy, it's was constant but it didn't have the volume of Kinnegad after a concert or match. I'll be going somewhere else next time.

Ordered tea tonight on the electronically tills. 10 minutes later, a girl came up to us, sorry no vegetable burgers. We decided to have a refund and order something different. Goes to the till for the refund to realise upon returning to the table we realise we are a couple euros short. Goes back to the till for the correct amount. (Till showed a different figure to our receipt apparently) Goes to the till and orders a papa John's meal deal. At which point half us have our meals from the previous order. We then see a staff member put our pizzas on a different table for 5minutes. After seeing her wondering around with three chips, three drinks i guessed it could be us, so I asked her. Indeed it was our food! She casually wanders to the other table with others sat at and brings the pizzas to us. I noticed she didn't explain it wasn't there order nor had they ordered pizza! As there food came shortly after. They appeared to be her friends. (Nice attempt at free pizza for friends I guess) The next issue arises! Ham and pineapple pizza instead of cheese garlic bread. 3 vegetarians now receiving a meaty treaty. Back to the till again. Indeed our receipt confirms we ordered cheese garlic bread!! Another wait for the cheese garlic bread. At this point we decide to take it away. My daughter then says I didn't get a toy with my meal. We love a supermacs but this was pure disappointment.

McDonald's in Sligo is a well-established fast-food chain offering its classic burgers and fries. This Christmas, they are serving up a delightful menu filled with sweet treats and savory delights. The restaurant has recently undergone renovations, featuring a new interior, large ordering screens, and expanded drive-through lanes to reduce waiting times. Additionally, the updated infrastructure includes ample outdoor seating with transparent glass walls for a comfortable dining experience.
Yes it's a good McDonald's. The staff are always very friendly and food quality is up to standard. Can't complain.

I’m just wondering — is it even possible to work any slower? The screen has been showing the same numbers (18 orders) in the “please collect ” section for 15 minutes straight, and no one seems to be in any rush to hand them out. I waited over 20 minutes for my own order!!! Some people were waiting 15 minutes just for a cup of coffee!

About my last visit: I ordered a toffee latte and the whipped cream along with the caramel was stuck on the lid when I got it. But it doesn't always happen. A pretty busy place, all tables are taken, but dependable on the hour - afternoon would be the busiest. Preparation time - okay, around 10 minutes. In Ireland you can't sit outside because of the cold wind - so tables outside are useless (unless you're a seal 🦭or a salmon). So it's best to sit in or in your car because as you may know fast food is more delicious when warm. My husband claims their beef burger is amazing - I am not a fan of beef but if you are - take it. My favourite burger here is Fish'o'fillet and I'll keep coming back for it no matter what 🤤 it's amazing. I love it along with a toffee latte which is one of my favourite drinks. 🍔☕ Oh! And an apple pie - crunchy and sweet. 🍎 The staff is friendly. One of our favourite brunch - lunch spots in Sligo.

A nice place to have some food, popped in on the way back home from Bundoran. It was pretty busy, your order shows up on the screen when ready to pick up but when you go to the counter it's not actually ready which made some clients confused, keep in mind it was busy! Overall a nice setting, love the seating area outside, it's really nice when the weather is good to enjoy fresh air and eat. Would recommend!

Cramped in with many stood waiting for food. We personally waited thirty minutes which is unacceptable when the order was literally plain cheese burger happy meals and some nuggets. I did see the online orders being packed and going out super quick which clearly showed that those orders were taking priority. It's not good enough.

Mary. Avoid her checkout guys. She'll talk to the other staff, wipe her counter, adjust her seat, anything but serve you. And after you wait through all that, she will (loudly) refuse to serve you until you empty everything in your basket and hand it to her. Apparently she can't scan it if she has to pick it up. Hand baskets were perfectly and deliberately designed to be placed at till points. Staff should be capable of a degree of customer service. And if you will delay someone to that extent, place a sign on your till explaining that that the server will only assist you if after you fully empty your hand baskets. Similar to how Aldi/lido have signs suggesting that you pack your bags away from the till (although they can get away with lackluster service, given the cost savings). Until I saw her do the same to others, I thought she had just taken a particular dislike to me. I hate to point out bad service, since I know how much crap these folks have to deal with every day. But she's been so consistently unfriendly for no reason that I've actually stopped going here in case her till is the one that's free (I prefer to try and keep these servers in their job by avoiding self service). Shout out to the rest of the team here, who are doing a great job despite being so busy.

Very confusing layout, like a maze. Good prices if you have ClubCard (which is just a free points cards). Produce was very fresh. Older women at cash seemed to be unpleasant with tourists. I visited a handful of times and the cashiers were always unpleasant…seemed annoyed I did not have a clubcard barcode but rather had to type in my clubcard #.

This is one of the worst shopping experiences I have ever had. When I was walking into the shopping centre down a ramp, a young lady slid and fell in front of me. She accidentally knocked down a row of tape they had put up to show the ramp was slippery. I then slid and fell down the same ramp. The security guard at the opposite end came and started yelling at the young lady and her companion. We all tried to explain we had fallen while walking into the Tesco but he wouldn't listen at all. His supervisor came up and we explained what happened. When I walked out a few minutes later, someone was still arguing with the guard and the guard was still yelling at one of the customers who saw it. That guard ws so rude. The Tesco itself was OK--just kind of a disorganised store layout. I found the ice cream anyway so that's OK. Anyway, that part was fine.

Went to recycle my bottles/cans at 8 pm (Tesco closes at 10pm), the 3 machines were full and when I asked the "super helpful" lady who was around the self service area if someone could do something about it she said NO, that it wouldn't be until Monday morning until they empty the machines... Shop was quiet at the time, 2 people standing on tills with no customers... Any of them could have gone and empty the machines...but no they prefered standing around😅. Ended up asking another member of staff and was happy to help ( he actually looked busier than the super helpful lady) .

It was an unpleasant surprise for me that at the checkout you have to check the goods by the receipt, since the cost of the same fruits by the club card and by the receipt will be 5 times higher. Also, they will forget to give you change and while you are packing your goods, close the checkout and leave.

Back in 1992 to 1996 I worked in the store at the same location here so I have sense of loyalty to this location This shop is by no means cheap The layout is bad The check puts are badly designed. But the staff especially the older staff are very friendly. I only wish that some of the younger staff would be better trained in how to deal with customers . In my day if a customers asked me where a product was I would walk with the help them find the item Today some of the younger staff just tell where something is rather than bring you to to . Today in Ireland when a lot of customers are not native English speakers they will need help to find what they are looking for ? Allways busy here but if you like the top brands you better bring a deep wallet .

Discover Shake Dog The Finer Diner Omniplex, a gourmet hot dog spot nestled in the vibrant Quayside Shopping Centre in Sligo, Ireland. Despite being a bit pricey, this casual eatery offers delectable food and impeccable cleanliness. The friendly and professional staff cater to all tastes with their diverse menu options. While the service was slightly understaffed on a Saturday night, the overall experience was welcoming and enjoyable.
Today I was on little trip to Sligo and I dropped in to Shake Dog. I had Route66 burger meal and it was absolutely delicious. Melting in my mouth! Thank you for the food and for the lovely chat. Toilets 5/5 Food 5/5 Ambiance 5/5

Good selection of burgers, sides, and milkshakes. The service was very friendly, and I didn't have to wait long for the food. The meal deal on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for just €10 is simply unbeatable. Everything was freshly prepared and delicious.

⭐ Great food and shakes, but serving size has changed ⭐ I’ve always enjoyed Shake Dog Sligo – tasty burgers, crispy fries, and their milkshakes are rich and delicious. However, I do miss when the milkshakes that came in big stainless steel cups with extra on the side. The new smaller servings feel a bit underwhelming compared to before. Still a good spot for a treat, but I wish they’d bring the old serving style back!

It is a great restaurant in the centre of the sligo town. The main attraction of the menu is their meal deals which includes one mains, one sides and a huge shake glass for just 14.99. This meal deal is amazing to have as it just fulfills your tummy to the very end and also satisfies your sweet tooth cravings. We had ordered D best chicken burger ever, with fries which were made specially peri peri on our request and a brownie shake which was fabulous. The other order was a vegetarian burger bang which was not a deal thing also the burger was not upto the mark as expected. The taste was more bland and the description on the menu said with the red hot sauce but I guess they serve me burger sauce in my burger. I have been to this place quite a bit but the taste now has declined a lot or it was just my bad day getting the food not up to the mark. The staff were very friendly and very welcoming. The toilets were kept clean. There would be a lot of waiting time during the weekends and peak hours. They have an option for take away as well. There is no parking for the site but we can park near penneys and can walk down to the restaurant or can also park at the Quay parking and easily reach down to the restaurant.

I had lived in Sligo for over a year and had tried Shake Dog for the first time today! I got the Southern Fried Chicken burger with a grilled pineapple on the burger with a side of mini beef nachos and a chocolate malt shake😍😍 All of it was SO GOOD!! I was born and raised in the states and the food definitely reminded me of home. Thank yoou!

It's is a great small sit out restaurant in the heart of the sligo town. The main attraction of the menu is thier meal deals which includes one mains, one sides and a huge shake glass for just 14.99 This price has increased a bit within 2 years but it is still worth it. We had ordered D best chicken burger ever, with fries which were mad specially peri peri on our request and a brownie shake which was wholesome. The other order was a vegetarian burger bang which was not a deal thing also the burger was not upto the mark as expected. There would be a lot of waiting time during the weekends and peak hours. They have an option for take away as well. There is no parking for the site but we can park near penneys and can walk down to the restaurant.

Workers are nice it's a little bit cramped could use renovation none the less great experience and lovely food especially the cookies always soft! 100% recommend.

Subs are great. Have found the staff really nice and polite when I've gone in.

Jessica served me when I visited Subway mail coach road yesterday. I was immediately made to feel welcome by her genuine friendliness and politeness. She provided prompt, courteous, and positive customer service. She was very understanding of my preferences and didn't seem put out by any requests I had made. A stark contrast to the attitude I had gotten from another employee a previous visit.

Great sub! Fresh ingredients, perfect ratio of ingredients, good value for money. Staff were friendly and helpful, albeit maybe a bit slow, a large queue formed behind us, only 1 person making subs in the middle of lunchtime?. Only one table to sit at, which was already taken. This subway only occupies a corner of petrol station shop so don't expect a nice ambience! But for a takeaway sub, we were very happy.

This is an amazing place the staff so kind the meal deals are always amazing one of my favorite fast food restaurants ever you will be amazed

Didn’t have the one miserable vegetarian option they offer (the patty)….get in the fake meatball marinara or chicken tikka, the veg patty is a miserable option.

Lady making up my wrap was awesome, will definitely. be back
Cleo S — Google review
Not too many Subway outlets in this neck of the woods, so it's a nice opportunity to grab one if you like them. I keep going back for more. Food is lovely, but coffee was not very hot so I buy it directly from the store instead. (Subway appears to be sub-letting a section of the premises.) Nice seating area if you want to dine inside.
