The 39 best cheap eats in Hvar Island

Last dinner in Hvar. We saw this place on Somebody feed Phil. Had fresh Octopus Salad, for main we split Chef’s Special (green bell pepper stuffed with seasoned ground beef) and Croatian pasta side and small shrimp gnocchi. We had 0.5L local white wine with dinner. It was amazing. The service was amazing. Loved the whole meal.❤️❤️

This restaurant is so authentic that they don't even sell Coca-Cola here! We absolutely loved our visit at Konoba Menego. Each dish was lovely. If we had to choose a favourite, it would be the fisherman's plate, which was filled with the freshest seafood we have ever tasted!

Excellent Croatian dishes, great service, cozy setting - definitely worth the wait (and you can have a glass of of wine while you wait in the stairs outside). We had the boar, a dude salad and the vegetarian stuffed pepper dish. All delicious! I only wish we’d had room to try the dessert assortment of cakes.

We had an amazing dinner here and can’t recommend it enough if you’re in Hvar and want to try some Dlamatian food. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. I’ve never had such pillowy gnocchi and the octopus salad was great. A great date spot. It is cash only, so be sure to have some euros on you.

What got us in was the sign at the door with "no pizza, no Rice, no spaghetti, no coca-cola". The owner came ro the table and confided that he felt the country was loosing it's gastronomic personality and we agreed. This place however was an absolute gem! Awesome food and very friendly staff. Price for 2 people with 2 entrees, 2 mains, 1 desert and 1 water: 89€

The food at Menego was relatively average overall; it's one of the less memorable meals we had during our two weeks in Croatia. The ambience was nice, but I'd skip this if we returned.

Ate here on the last night they were open before closing for the season so they had a more limited menu available, but the food and wine were all good and worth the walk up the steps. It’s a small family run restaurant and all staff were really lovely to talk to. Note that it’s cash only, so make sure you go to the ATM before you walk up there 🙂

Pretty good food, wish they had a bigger selection. Most restaurants offer the same few dishes, at least you can find a few creative ones that are a bit different here

Beautiful restaurant in an amazing location with excellent food for not too high of a price. We had the Croshi which was nice but lacked some extra food in my opinion. The tuna was amazing tho. The lamb stew with gnocchi was amazing but I counted 7 gnocchi in total, and if there were more the whole experience would be a 5/5. The sea bass was really nice but nothing special. The service was excellent and the waiters deserve only compliments. The wine selection was wide and drinks prices were fair.

Giaxa restaurant in Hvar offers a charming outdoor setting tucked into the Old Town’s stone alleys. The ambiance is lovely, and our waiter was genuinely kind and welcoming—great start to the evening. We began with the Croshi, which was just okay. Personally, I wouldn’t recommend it. The smoked scallops, however, were excellent—rich, flavorful, and beautifully presented. That dish stood out. For mains, we had the ribeye steak and beef Wellington. Both were decent, but nothing memorable. Given the restaurant’s reputation and pricing, we expected more refinement and depth in flavor. Overall, while the service and setting were strong, the food didn’t quite match the hype. It’s a personal opinion, but we found Giaxa a bit overrated. Still, credit to the team for their hospitality and effort.

The tuna tartar was truly delicious and met our expectations. Unfortunately, the main courses did not reflect the same standard. The dishes arrived cold; while the calamari was acceptable, the risotto was a real disappointment. It was poorly cooked, the texture was off, and it came clumped together. From a restaurant positioning itself at a higher level, we expected more refined execution. Given our limited time in the area, we regretted not choosing a different restaurant in the end.

Amazing food and service. Recommend the John Dory fish grilled. We also got sea bass and it was great.

Their dedication to excellent service added a significant positive note to our visit. The restaurant's setting is lovely, providing a quiet and intimate atmosphere that is perfect for a relaxing meal. The ambiance, combined with the high-quality food and outstanding service, makes Giaxa a standout choice for dining in Hvar. Overall, Restaurant Giaxa offers a delightful culinary experience with a few minor areas for improvement. I had a great time here! The food was delicious: got some free appetizers which was a nice touch! The bread was simply out of this world and the lamstew was nice! Gnocci could have been a touch less doughy in my opinion but the gravy and the supersoft lamb definitely made up for it! The waiter was very friendly, which definitely elevated the experience! I loved the location as well, nice and cool!

Great place located in a cute street right behind the port. Both indoor and outdoor seating available. Some seats indoor have a view on the port. We went here on the recommendation of the owner of our AirBnB: according to them this place has some of the freshest seafood in town. The black risotto was amazing. Even the grilled chicken dish was delicious and well seasoned. The staff was friendly and the price was reasonable especially given that eating out in Hvar is not cheap. Highly recommend this place!

Lovely cosy restaurant located on the back streets of Hvar. We didn’t reserve a table so we were seated inside, so definitely reserve a table to sit outside! The service was excellent, the waiters were very attentive and kind. The food was delicious 😍 It was great quality for a reasonable price, which is hard to find in Hvar as everything is expensive. I was recommended this restaurant by the hotel I stayed in and it did not disappoint! The food was absolutely amazing, I had the seafood pasta and my partner had the tuna steak and they were both incredible. We had to wait around 20-30 mins for a table but were served drinks on the steps which was a lovely way to wait. Would definitely visit again when I next come to Hvar!

Amazing family run seafood place. The waiter was extremely knowledgeable and provided great recommendations. The seafood was extremely fresh and well cooked. Highly recommended by locals and we were not let down. Will continue to recommend this place and will certainly visit again when back on Hvar.

The place was very comfortable with a great atmosphere. The staff was honest, he advised me not to order the chicken since their specialty is seafood. The food was a bit pricey for the quality. That said, the chicken was quite good for a non-seafood option, though the vegetables were just average. The bathroom is very small, but overall the ambiance made for an enjoyable experience. They do not offer tap water.

We had a lovely meal here sharing the fish platter and some focaccia. Having come on the recommendation of our accommodation host we were not disappointed. Much better value for money than other restaurants and undeniably the place to go for seafood. Thanks again!

My fiancé and I ordered the seafood platter and couldn’t have been happier with it. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and was cooked to perfection. I’m usually not a big fan of sea bass, but the way it was prepared here completely won me over. Our server was warm and welcoming, and the restaurant itself beautiful.

Highly recommend the pasta! The terrace is warm and has a great atmosphere, but there are quite a few bees. The food comes out quickly and tastes excellent. Prices are reasonable, and credit cards are accepted.

Loved this restaurant!! It is hidden but worth searching out! The service was so good and the food outstanding. Try the lasagna! Very different than what we were used to but so delicious. Glad we found this place with a few days left!

Lasagna was the best I’ve ever had. My party agreed. Pastasada was delicious. The semifrido was cool to try, but essentially ice cream. The tiramisu was very good. Friendly service. Would return.

Restaurant Mizarola had friendly staff that welcomed us and sat us upstairs in a nice outdoor area. The atmosphere was very relaxed and chill. We ordered a mixture of pasta and pizzas that really hit the spot after a day in the sun, especially the Lasagna. The prices were reasonable given the area we were in. If you’re looking for a quiet place to relax for your meal, Mizarola is a good place to visit.

Food and especially the waiters were amazing here! I asked the waiter a few questions and he could explain everything to me and also told me that he recommends me to take another dish because it might not be to my liking (it has a very intense sea food taste). When I still ordered the Black Risotto, he told me that I can surely try and if I don't like it, he will bring me something else. Can only recommend it to everyone!

Nice terrace for dining. The service was fast, the waiters were friendly. The food was delicious, but the portions were smaller for us. Also the salad, the same, a small portion. In general, prices are higher as everywhere else on Hvar. Certainly, a recommendation for the restaurant.

Absolutely loved my dinner here ! They were so generous and gave us Prosecco as soon as we sat down. The house white wine was fantastic. The cured ham with melon was delicious and the seafood risotto was so flavourful and filled with fish. Such an amazing meal and the best ambiance. If you’re ever in Hvar you need to check this place out. Not to mention the food was actually reasonably priced as compared to all the over priced restaurants here. 10/10

There are not enough stars that I could give to this amazing, charming restaurant. We went there for breakfast every morning of our time there. It was delicious, fresh, and plentiful. €15pp for made to order eggs, bread, cakes, fruit, yogurt, juice, coffee, etc. They also had GF options. Not only was it an amazing deal but the service was also amazing. 10/10 recommend.

Such an amazing restaurant! So cozy atmosphere and we had a so warm welcoming experience from our waitress Rosa. We got a glass of prosecco as a welcome drink on the house, and also some bruschetta during our waiting for the food. The food was also something extra, tasted so good and we really felt that it was cooked with love. Would really recommend!

Riquísima la comida We visited Lucillus on two consecutive nights during our 3-day stay in Hvar that’s how much we loved it. When people are naturally warm and welcoming, you just know the food is going to be amazing, and that was definitely the case here. Rosa was an incredible host, her smile radiates pure, honestly, if I ever return to Hvar, it will be to dine at this restaurant again… and this time, I’d stay at the hotel too (I didn’t even realise it was part of one). The food? Absolutely top tier. I tend to stick with what I love once I find it, and their octopus salad had me hooked, fresh, filling, and unbelievably delicious. I couldn’t get enough. My boyfriend tried a few different dishes fresh fish one night and a variety of meats the next, and everything was full of flavour and beautifully presented. If you’re in Hvar, don’t miss this gem. Wow! The most amazing meal in Croatia I experienced. I was so impressed with the delicious menu and amazing customer service. Coming here since about 10 years every 2 years and love the stay every time. I love the great vegan options in the new menu. The Zucchini Spaghetti were amazing for example. Found this place randomly walking along the coast and was such a gem. Had an amazing lunch then ended up coming back for dinner the same night. The staff was very friendly and answered any of our questions. The tuna bruschetta, steak, and octopus were truly delicious. Was my favorite meal of the entire week. The vibe of the restaurant is very relaxing and the view is even better. 10/10 would go back again.

If you are looking for a relaxing day at a unique place on the Hvar coast, than this is the spot for you. The other beach clubs are also great, but Falko is quiet and peaceful and they have done a really great job of building day beds into the rocks on the coast.

Really liked this hostel. 😍😍 It's right in the center of Hvar, only a short walk from the ferry stop and surrounded by shops, restaurants and beautiful little alleyways. The staff were very friendly, our room was super spacious and clean, comfy beds.. There was a little kitchen that we could use, and they also gave us bracelets to receive discounts at different local restaurants.👌 Our bathroom was sometimes flooded but that happens, so no problem really. ☺️ Also, you have to get up some stairs to get into the hostel which can be challenging if you have big luggage - but the staff helped me to carry my suitcase - so kind!!! 🙏

Stayed here in a private room for two nights - room was clean and comfy and very pleasant. Great location. Staff were all super friendly and helpful, really appreciated all their help, recommendations and advice. Overall really good value for money and would definitely stay here again.

I had a blast staying in the hostel. Everyone was so nice and welcoming. Especially the staff, they were always friendly helpful and fun to be with. The Rooms and bathrooms were cleaned everyday. The hostel is small but very lovely and has everything that you need from a nice kitchen to a comfortable common space. It is only 4 minutes away from the Hvar harbour, so you can easily walk from the ferry to the hostel. I enjoyed my stay very much and will be back to come visit Hvar. I'll always remember professor guapo and Pipe, that were a part of the staff and made me feel so welcomed. 10/10 I'd recommend to stay there.

The cleanest hostel that I've ever stayed in! And an amazing location.

We stopped here for lunch on our maiden day in Hvar on the recommendation of our hotel concierge at Casa Benita. We had a spectacular culinary experience. Before our appetizer was presented, we were offered a refreshing aperitif of carob-infused chilled brandy. This was so refreshing given the day's temp of 34° C. Next, the chef offered gratis a fried polenta bar that was packed with flavor from multiple herbs and seasonings. For the appetizer we consumed the steak tartar with truffle slices and toasted baguette slices. This far exceeded the steak tartar we had on Split a few days earlier. For the shared main courses, we ordered the black gnocchi with shrimp in truffle sauce, octopus salad and curry risotto with shrimp. All were very delicious and the risotto was prepared to well done as requested. At the end of our meal we were again offered gratis a pine needle infused brandy to wash down our meal. We had three different servers who were most attentive to our dining needs. As for the check, the total amount was discounted 10% because we chose to pay by cash versus card. We highly recommend Dalmatino for anyone visiting Hvar and will certainly return when we come back to Croatia in a few years!

This place not only has great food and service, but they also go the extra mile to make guests feel welcome. My octopus salad portion was generous and tasty, and my husband’s curry shrimp risotto was mild with a rich seafood flavor. During our lunch, they offered us one complimentary small bite and three free drinks—which were really good—plus a 10% discount for paying in cash. Such a great experience!

This has to be one of our best meals in Croatia. The service is so great, they make you feel so welcome and the food was absolutely outstanding. Definitely coming here again while we’re in Hvar! We had the Istria Truffle Gnocchi and Octopus Carpaccio with the chocolate cake for dessert. Dalmatian food is 🤩🤩 and it was perfectly executed at Dalmatino. Highly highly recommend! Don’t skip this if you’re in Hvar!

They definitely have the best black risotto in Old Town Dubrovnik! We ordered so much and nothing disappoints! We had an octopus salad, fish of the day and pasta 💯 The staffs are accommodating as we didn’t have a booking but managed to squeeze us in. So make sure you book ahead of time especially for dinners!

I had an extraordinary dining experience at what might be the finest restaurant I’ve ever visited—a bold claim, but well-earned. The waitstaff operated like a perfectly synchronized team, anticipating every need with precision and warmth. Their knowledge was impressive, and their recommendation of a wine—now my absolute favorite— was spot-on. The truffle gnocchi stood out as exceptional, though every dish was a masterpiece. We capped the evening with espresso-martinis, and cigars, making for an unforgettable finale. This place is a true gem.

My partner and I visited this restaurant last night. I can honestly say this was one of the nicest meals I have ever had eating out. We had the Chateau Briand for the main, and granny's cake for dessert. We were lucky enough to get a table as during peak season this restaurant can be booked up to 3 weeks in advance. The food was excellent. The service was very attentive. Tony and the rest of the team went above and beyond. If you are going to eat anywhere in Hvar town, I would recommend eating in this restaurant. It was an excellent all round experience.

Visited Fig for breakfast and it was absolutely delicious! It’s tucked away in a quiet, cobblestone alley, and they don’t take reservations. Luckily we found an open table. The service was amazing and everyone was so lovely. We had the avocado toast with eggs and bacon, and the bacon was cooked to perfection. Definitely add this place to your list when you’re in Hvar

Love this place. Reviews are right, excellent food worth the wait. Made enjoyable by a glass of wine and chat with others to pass it by. Wine local and we'll chosen, food excellent. We had fig and cheese bread and chilli chicken burrito. Latter won out, very taste and we'll marinated. Staff friendly and fun. 5 * plus for us.

Visited for lunch based on reviews. Lucky to get a table in the rain. Staff delightful, very patient as had to turn lots of people away cos of the rain. Had delicious Poke bowl and pulled pork. A true hidden gem tucked away in the alleys of Hvar! After wandering around for a while looking for a place to eat, we stumbled upon this small restaurant — and it turned out to be one of the best surprises of my trip. The flavors were outstanding, the service was warm and attentive, and both my friend and I had our expectations exceeded. Finally, a place in Croatia where portion size, quality, and price are perfectly balanced. Highly recommended!

We had a nice experience at Fig - cut off from the main areas, giving you a quiet atmosphere in a narrow road and avoiding the hustle and bustle that the summer evenings in Hvar brings along. The food was very nice - maybe a tad pricy for the portion size, but very tasty. We took a BBQ burger and a Vegetarian burger. We also tried one of their freshly squeezed juices which was really nice; orange lemon and ginger. Staff were very sweet, polite and helpful. Recommended!

Located in a gorgeous little alley right past the port, the food is simply delicious. Seating is limited, but in the off season there is usually still no wait. A perfect stop if you need a break for a night to try something different than the local Mediterranean & Italian cuisines. If you are an American and hesitant to try something new, this is a great spot for familiar eats with a lovely Croatian twist. Everything was delicious and far exceeded our expectations. I had the chicken burrito and she had the Korma. For an appetizer we split sweet potato fries.

I am reviewing the food, as I haven't stayed in the hotel yet, and the octopus we had was chewy as a leather shoe, the same price and about half as tasty, after visiting, we asked a few local guides about the restaurant and were told it was pretentious because Bezos ate there once or twice, and they put effort into that only when he's around. The service personell was nice, but recommended whitewine to pumpkin, which is a challenge on its own, if you disregard that pumpkin is not only served with almost all their spring foods and not a particularly seasonal ingredient. Restaurants like this are the reason I usually ask locals for recommendations, because places like these are easy traps for those of us who don't know the signs. I am thankful for the lesson it taught me.

One of the best dining experiences of recent memory. And I live in New York. Every course of the tasting menu was rich with flavor and texture. Much better than some of the Mich-star restaurants I’ve been to. And Martin was a charming ambassador for the afternoon. Standout dishes were: - Cabbage leaf taco - Strawberry gazpacho - Tuna tartar - Scampi risotto - and the amazing avocado dessert We will be back!

Restaurant only. Zori definitely poses itself as a haute cuisine restaurant. And may be called as that. The food selection is unique and what is most importantly tasty (we tried stake, tagliatelle's , and childish chicken stipes). Staff was friendly and helpful. The place has a perfect view and can definitely be considered romantic. Being close to the beach it is considerably separated, thus it will not disturb on the overcrowded days. The only problem, considerably significantly ruining the atmosphere were the vasps which were constantly flying around and were quite disturbing. Considering the high-level of the restaurant, finding some solution is of strong reccomendation. Considering the food and the location, the prices are found deservingly high, but be expected for around 100Eur/per

I had the pleasure of photographing the beautiful wedding of Amy and Michael at Beach Club Hvar and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The location is absolutely stunning right by the sea, with crystalclear water, swaying palms, and that signature Hvar charm that makes everything feel like a dream. The natural light, the setting sun, and the coastal vibe made for the most magical backdrop throughout the entire day. From a photographer’s perspective, Beach Club Hvar is a perfect venue. Highly recommended for couples dreaming of a stylish and romantic seaside wedding in Croatia.

The place is very elegant and beautiful and the service is excellent. Renting a chair is 60 euros for a whole day, which is expensive compared to others (usually 35 euros). Unfortunately, the weather was cloudy (check the weather). We only spent 3 hours, and of course I will repeat the experience.

Terrible value for money. Service was non-existent, you have to run around looking for them and then if you don’t know who “your server” is (they didn’t tell us) they don’t take an order from you. The stairs into the sea were covered in literally the slippiest moss/grime ever so we were actually unable to get in the sea with our little one. Also there’s quite literally millions of sea urchins so remember your shoes. The air con rooms were actually really nice, clean and handy with a baby. Terrible service, awful value for money.

Very disappointed with the service and the most importantly with the price. 500 Euros for the daily bed with a bottle of champagne…nothing else being offered, Was told that every bed is booked however there is plenty of them available. There is a direct correlation with the less tourists and inflatable prices. Very disappointing for sure!

Best experience we had in Hvar. It’s a bit pricey, but often possible to get 50% off during the week if you book the day before. The service is perfect, and the location is stunning for swimming and enjoying the sun in luxury. The food is quite expensive, but the portions are large and the quality is good. This is truly the way to enjoy Hvar!

Reasonable prices for luxury. The view is beautiful, the cabana is nice and air conditioned with free juice, water, and soft drinks. The sun beds were comfy. The food was delicious. The staff was so warm and welcoming. The water amazing!!! Would go back in a heartbeat.

Booked a sun-bed for half a day. They had a wedding in the evening, hence the beds were only available til 3. This wasn’t a problem as they’d pro rated the rental cost according. Upon arrival I was told that the kitchen was open until 2, and nothing was mentioned of a bar close time. At some point this changed but was not communicated by the waitress to anybody. I only found out when I tried to order fries at 1:15 and she said the kitchen had closed. I also ordered a drink which she put through for me but said it was last call and I had to pay up - over an hour and a half before they closed! I noticed a lot of unhappy customers who were trying to order after me when they were told they couldn’t. To make it worse, at 2:15pm i saw that the waiter for the other side of the deck was still bringing food and beverages out for his customers. Aside from that, the service was overall lacking for a place that markets itself as being upscale - no water provided unless asked, had to move the parasols ourselves, had to actively find the waitress when wanting to order. And the quality of the food was poor in relation to the price. $26.50 for a quesadilla that had barely any meat in it, came with the tiniest portion of guac and no salsa or sour cream? Even the table next to me had to *ask* for ketchup and mayo for their burgers. I know this sounds like I’m nitpicking but for the prices they charge and that they market themselves as exclusive/upmarket it’s these little things that you would expect. If the loungers and food etc were all half the price i’d have NO complaints at all. Anyway, the view is gorgeous and its a great spot to get in/out the water without having to deal with the pebbles but there are other clubs/resorts that offer way better service/experience for the same or less cost. Can’t say that I’d recommend The Beach Club. Although perhaps the experience is better when they don’t have a wedding to set up.

A very interesting spot in the old town. You can feel that the dishes are inspired by local flavors but elevated with creative twists. There’s a play of textures and more complex flavors that make the food exciting. A great restaurant for those who want to try something surprising. On top of that, the presentation is beautiful – you can eat with your eyes first. The veal simply melted in the mouth. Out of everything we ordered, only the tuna steak didn’t really appeal to us – it felt like the weakest option. The rest was excellent. The highlight was definitely the Kotlenka – absolutely outstanding. Also worth mentioning were the braised octopus and the risotto, both full of flavor. The place itself is pleasant, with friendly service. Overall – if you’re looking for local flavors with an unexpected twist, this restaurant is well worth a visit.

This little restaurant is such a hidden gem! ✨ Tucked away on a narrow street of the island, it feels incredibly cozy and authentic. Our experience with the restaurant was somewhat disappointing, although all together not bad. We got tuna tartar, seabass and black risotto. Tuna tartar was great, every flavour was well-thought and they complimented one another fantastically. Black risotto was very interesting and flavourful. However, as it sometimes happens with risotto, after a few bites it was a little overwhelming and too heavy because of the buttery flavour. We splitted the portion in half so it wasn't an issue, it would make a really good starter in a smaller portion tho. The most disappointing dish was the seabass. Green beans served with it were way too salty, as was half of the burreu sauce. As for the seabass it was okay, however the burnt skin made it hard to enjoy due to difficulty in seperating the meat from the skin which had a charcoal aroma to it. Additionally, the tempura topping was unnecessary and weirdly excluded from the whole dish, it didn't pair well with anything (although it was tasty on its own). The mussels base in the sauce was hardly noticeable (maybe because of the saltiness). The staff went out of their way to divide our starter in two (because we were sharing one portion) which I think was very thoughtful. However, our overall experience was mid. We didn't feel much cared for after the first dish was served. I think it would be nice to be served water (as the glasses were already prepared on the table for no reason) and coasters/napkins for the drinks.

We met the owner of the restaurant while we were having breakfast down the street. We weren’t able to eat at the restaurant but the owner shared some of the grapes that had just been harvested for his winemaker and these were THE BEST grapes I’ve ever had. Which I can only imagine what the wine is like! Check this place out if you have time :)

Antika- A Hidden Gem in Stari Grad Last night i went in restaurant Antika in Stari Grad with a group of friends and we ordered several starters to share – tuna tartare, beef tartare, marinated anchovies, and burrata with all the right pairings – everything was excellent, beautifully prepared and full of flavor. But two dishes truly stood out: the “Kotlenka” with monkfish, a masterpiece of rich and perfectly balanced flavors, and the lamb, which my friend ordered – tender, juicy, aromatic, and simply unforgettable. Words cannot do it justice. The ambiance is charming, the staff warm and professional, and the whole experience on par with the best restaurants. Antika is a place we will definitely return to. 👌

A great choice for a laid-back, family-style meal with generous portions. The alley dining setup makes it a unique and fun experience, though it can get distracting around 7–8 PM when lots of people are passing by looking for last-minute tables. We ordered the fish first choice and, at our server’s suggestion, combined the mussels and clams with the lobster spaghetti since they share the same sauce—it worked out perfectly. The service was attentive and friendly, which added to the experience. Overall, a casual spot with hearty portions and a lively atmosphere.

The location outside in the stones is nice with lots of people walking by. Service is very fast. The food is really good. We had lobster spaghetti and seafood risotto. The sauce of each dish was the same- light, flavorful, delicious. They only accept cash. The service was nice. A great choice.

Macondo is a little gem we were lucky to come across, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. We managed to get a table without a reservation, which felt like a win given how popular it is. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the staff offered excellent recommendations that made the meal feel like a true local experience. The family-style plates were perfect for sharing, giving us a chance to try a variety of dishes that were fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. It felt less like dining out and more like being invited to someone’s home for an authentic meal. If you find yourself in the area, Macondo is absolutely worth a visit. Great food, great vibe, and an experience that stays with you.

Setting is lovely, but food quality was poor, and not a good value for the money. The mussel dish and the mussels and clams dish, as well as the seafood risotto, featured shellfish that tasted like it had been cooked well before we ordered it. While edible, the mussels were rubbery. There are much better places in Hvar for the same price or less.

I’m really dissatisfied that waiters were very neutral with us ( not in a good way) probably of looking Queer. We saw that they were more friendly with other guests and they were not even interested to have a chat with US in comparison with the other people seated. Food was okay bud overpriced and THEN customer service just didn’t feet my expectations

A little gem! The food was truly great - at least the seafood pasta. Highly recommend that! We sat upstairs on the "terrace" - it was open roofed but with a covering that could be closed, which was good because during our visit there was pouring rain and thunder. The service was also great - very attentive. Would go again if I ever revisit Hvar.

Highly recommended! We ordered the truffle homemade pasta and the fried squid, and both dishes were absolutely delicious. I especially recommend the truffle pasta. The atmosphere was lovely, and it was great to find a cozy indoor spot with heaters, which was perfect for this colder off-season. We’ll definitely be coming back!

The fish soup is delicate and full of flavor. We ordered Gregada （a traditional fish stew native to Hvar, made with white fish, potatoes, onions, garlic, and olive oil.), mixed grilled meat, and grilled vegetables. All are very tender and tasty. The waitress ordered the salad by mistake instead of grilled vegetables for me, but she offered a free desert for apologies. Dining at the roof terrace is very nice, but the ground floor seems very basic.

Awesome place to eat and hang out. I had the traditional Hvar fish stew (Gegada) and it was so good and unique. Eating on the terrace was nice, they have small heaters and canopy when it gets cold.

The staff is great, even if I didn't have any reservation, the lady at the entrance found a slot for me. The food was delicious and the atmosphere very nice (a bit loud for me cause it was busy with groups) but otherwise, it was a great experience, staff very flexible. They made a fish platter just for one. Staff is really careful, even for solo traveller which is not everywhere..I recommand.

The retractable roof top patio is great. The grilled octopus is some of the best we've had. The mussels in white wine sauce were a large portion and very fresh. The teenagers loved the truffle linguine. We will be back.

Grande Luna is a great spot to enjoy a tasty meal without breaking the bank. The portions are just right — generous enough to satisfy but not overdone — and the prices are very reasonable. On top of that, the service is excellent: the staff are welcoming, attentive, and quick to make sure you have everything you need. It’s a place that combines quality food, affordability, and warm hospitality, which makes it easy to recommend.

Very lovely place. We came here several days in a row after bathing in the bay, had some beers and some Chicken Salads (with extra Cheese) and we really enjoyed staying here. Prices are of course a little bit higher than normal, but this location is - in my opinion - worth the spending. Especially when you can time your stay with the sunset.

We grabbed some food and drinks while lounging at the beach for the day. Drinks are reasonably priced, $5 beers and $12 cocktails. All the food locked good but we only tried the chicken salad, which was basically a Chicken Cesar, which was really good for $13. It's the only food option at the beach, unless you bring your own food.

We ordered a cocktail here after a wonderful lunch at the next door restaurant. They were terrible. I had a Cosmo, it was vile, my husband had a tequila sunrise, equally as bad. Before we ordered we said we had no cash and they said they had a cash point inside. After our drinks we went to the cash point which didn’t work, I tried 3 times and the bar staff just replied “it works” very rude. It didn’t work after they tried it and then thankfully they let us off the €6 which we couldn’t pay. I wouldn’t recommend going here. Sad as the location is lovely.

Went in with low expectations due to the reviews. We ordered two soft drinks, chips and a chicken salad. The chips were actually very nice - and no extra charge for the ketchup and Mayo that comes with them. They were nice and crispy. The chicken salad wasn’t great but we ate it anyway. There was no dressing but we used the olive oil and balsamic from the table. The chicken was dry and not fresh. Drinks were 25kn each , salad was 80kn and chips were 40kn. Had our expectations been higher we’d have been disappointed. But it was fine.

Extradionary felling and atmospfere here by "Mustačo" If you were thinking of enjoying your free time with a light breeze and a view of incredible nature, you are in the right place. Exceeded expectations! So good that we ate there on multiple occasions after having not so great food in other parts of Croatia. Loved how the sister restaurant (Spice) was also combined on the menu so we had plenty to choose from. We had the mussels that were in a delightful white wine sauce along with the burrata which had a phenomenal pairing Of what seemed to be a tomato Chutney of sorts, so good! The bread they came served with was the best bread we’ve had, light, fluffy and with hints of Gouda throughout. I’ll be thinking about the bread for awhile lol. Highly recommend the Thai inspired dishes as the chef specializes in that fare. We had the Drunken Noodle and Pad Wan Sen (or something like that lol) which were perfectly portioned and with the kind of heat I like. Also pictured is a Dish I forget the name of But was like a lasagna but sub scalloped potatoes so it was cheesey, meaty and filling which was the perfect base for the days activities.

I ordered this tuna tartare for a starter and it was very disappointing, not just because of the taste (what taste? there was no taste) but look at the size. It was very small, I paid 105HKR for this. I didn’t take a photo of the main course, which was some seafood pasta because it was very disappointing too, it wasn’t tasty. I hate to say those things about some place because I understand that have someone who work to make this, but I need to be honest. I don’t recommend it. The place is expensive and the food wasn’t good.

Worth a stop if you're staying at the Amfora! The whole sea bream was fantastic; crispy skin and plenty of lemon/olive oil. Black squid risotto was solid, not spectacular. I asked for some rakija at the end of the meal and the owner let me try some of his homemade batch, on the house. Seems like a family-run joint filled with nice people

Amazing food!! It's been a while since I've ate this good and all the boxes have been checked, starting with a perfectly cooked food, salads and vegetables to the liqueurs at the end. I just had one of the BEST COOKIES of my whole life. freshly baked, amazing texture and sweetness, whole hazelnuts and lots of chocolate. it’s the only thing they sell to eat and honestly I think that’s ok. regarding coffee: I had an iced latte and it was ok, also cheaper than other cafes in Hvar :)

100% best coffee in town! They had a brazillian sort called “samba”… flat white that they made was out of this world. Creamy, rich and full of flavour… Also, people that work there were very friendly, effortlesly cool and laidback while maintaining high level service in a high speed working environment.. Cute too! Plus they have nice cookies. This place makes u want their shop in ur hometown. Would visit every day!!!

We reserved a place day in advance, but when we arrived the waiter informed us that he was not informed about our reservation. We ordered drinks, which arrived after 25 minutes, while we waited for the food for another hour and a half. My medium-rare stake arrived well done, and with additional side dish that I did not order (and was not informed that it is included) - I returned it and the replacement came frosen in the middle. The place was almost empty, apart from our group there was only one other occupied table. The vegetables were excellent, and the rest of the group was relatively satisfied with their fish dishes. If you like meat - avoid at all costs!

We came here with my friend during our trip to Hvar. He has been there before, and was strongly recommending the place, but this time the experience was different. We were seated and given the menu. It took us a while to choose something, as we don't usually eat fish or seafood. Eventually, we were ready to order, but the waiter told us that they don't have many ingredients, due to the upcoming closure of the restaurant, so there was like 30% of the fish menu still available. Which has left us with not so many options to choose from, and the waiter was recommending us one of the positions in quite a persistent way. We ordered something else in the end. Indeed, the food was delicious, and the place itself is lovely and unique, but the situation of rechoosing in a rush was pretty upsetting and inconvenient and would be solved easily, just if we were told about the limited choice options before we have chosen unavailable dishes. Still, I believe, you may get a better experience if you go there in the middle of the touristic season. Let's see the next time we're in Croatia.

Seven Hvar is absolutely the best club in town! The atmosphere is amazing – vibrant, energetic, and exactly what you want for a night out on Hvar. The music, the crowd, and the vibe are all top-notch. What truly made our experience unforgettable was the staff, especially our waiter Davor. He was incredibly friendly, always smiling, and made sure we had everything we needed the whole evening. His positive attitude really stood out and made the night even more enjoyable. The rooms are elegant and comfortable, and the hotel radiates peace, luxury, and historical charm. The location is perfect, offering stunning views and easy access to everything you need. The Palace Elisabeth Hotel in Hvar was fabulous. The hotel lobby was beautiful. The complementary breakfast was incredible. We ordered from a full breakfast menu and enjoyed it all. Our room was small but nice. There are larger rooms available. The staff was very helpful. The location is perfect and overlooks the harbor. We would highly recommend the Palace Elisabeth and hope to visit again!

This is a truly lovely hotel with great staff. It is not possible to drive up to the hotel but you are met by a small golf cart to collect your luggage. The hotel faces the harbour and has great sea views. The reception staff were very helpful. We arrived before 3pm but were kindly helped to access our room an hour early. There is a lift and stairs. Our room was very comfortable and has an evening turn down service.

I hate to leave a poor review, but my experience at Palace Elizabeth was one of the WORST experiences I’ve had with a hotel, especially one that is apparently a 5 star resort. My wife and I are on our honeymoon and Hvar was one of our last stops after a long euro trip in Paris and Switzerland. We had pre scheduled a yacht to boat around the islands. Unfortunately, there was increment weather and we were forced to cancel/reschedule. The concierge helped and told me she reserved us a space for after the weather clears. The hotel never sent a confirmation for the booking. Didn’t tell us the price nor the time to go out. When we followed up the day before to learn more information, they responded with details that didn’t make sense for our travels (both time and cost) and then told us we couldn’t cancel. On one of the last days of honeymoon, the reception and concierge told us to wait at the spa for their GM. We waited all day. When the GM finally came 3 hours later we discussed the situation and told them they never sent any confirmations. She told us she would talk to her colleagues and come back to discuss with us before we left for the ferry. The GM or hotel never came back to talk to us, instead they went ahead and charged our CC without authorization after our final bill was already paid. We have now sent the hotel THREE emails without response. The hotel actually charged our CC without authorization, without confirmation of any booking, and then has ghosted us. $1400!!! Crazy! The hotel is located in center city, but you can find many other hotels to stay out rather than these thieves.

This is one of the most wonderful hotels I have stayed at. The rooms are unique and delightful. The food is fantastic. And most of all, the service is absolutely wonderful. I have never posted a review before, but this hotel truly deserves its five stars.

Beautiful hotel in a spectacular location in the middle of town close to many restaurants. Town is lively when we visited in August but not loud. Service was top notch. Breakfast is a la carte with a live piano music and drinks on the terrace watching the sunset is lovely.

Lovely Restaurant bar to sit and watch the world go by whilst waiting for your boat. We had a fantastic late breakfast. The service from Marin was absolutely wonderful…he repeatedly encouraged us to take as long as we needed with no pressure to keep ordering. We stayed from 10.30am until 1pm very relaxed x

Worst matcha I’ve ever had – they didn’t even have oat milk. The eggs were fine, but the focaccia tasted like it came straight out of the fridge: cold and hard. Staff was nice but really disappointing experience overall.

The servers are very patient…… allowing dozens of passengers awaiting the ferries to just stop in with all their bags and only buy 1 coffee and sit there for 2 hours….. We did not do this but witnessed many others doing so and the workers were kind about it. Great place for breakfast or to rest and have a drink or snack before the ferry. Only complaint: My French 75 was overpriced and tasted bad..

A great place with a very pleasant atmosphere. We initially chose this place because of the cool design, but the service and food quality were also top notch, I absolutely recommend it!

The food, atmosphere, and location were all amazing, only the best words for that. When we first arrived, we were greeted by a male server who was very kind and welcoming. Unfortunately, later on (23.08 around 9 PM), a waitress with long black hair started coming to our table, and the experience changed. She took away some of our plates even though there was still food on them. When we told her we weren’t finished, she replied, 'Well then just take the food and hold it.' We literally had to grab the remaining chicken wings and eat them immediately because she had already taken the plate. When we wanted to order another round of beers, we waited for a different waiter to take our order, as her behavior felt quite rude and unprofessional. That being said, we still definitely recommend the place, just be mindful of the service depending on which server you get.

The food is finger licking good 😍 We got served quickly, it was delicious and the service was great ! We had some great coctails ( i forgot the name ) and the waiter Martina took care of us all night - she was great !! All in all would recommend 11/10 Hope you have as good of a time as we did !

Lola Bar is hands down one of the coolest spots in Hvar! The atmosphere is vibrant, colorful, and full of life — a hidden garden oasis with a laid-back yet stylish vibe. The food was amazing! I had the spare ribs and they came with coleslaw. The ribs were cooked perfect and the coleslaw was so good! The wife had the poke bowl and she was very satisfied as well! Very good food and the drinks were also on point!

Decided to come here for our last dinner in Hvar, but we were very badly let down. At first when we approached the restaurant we were looked up and down by numerous members of staff which felt very unfriendly and unwelcoming. Once we were sat, we thought the food sounded nice from the look of the menu so we were optimistic. As we were placing our order, I (very fussy eater due to a dairy intolerance) tend to order food plain and have had no issue with this anywhere else around the world and so far on our trip in croatia at numerous restaurants. I requested the chicken burger to be plain, to then be told in a smug attitude “this is not fast food, this is street food”. At first we thought he was joking, but soon realised by his harsh tone and blank expression he was not. We were then told “we only remove bacon for religious reasons you should just have it with everything on it and eat it the way it comes as it would be dry and its €18”… (price was never an issue and would of happily paid the full price) We were left shocked and have never experienced customer service to this level. We promptly paid for our overpriced drinks and left. It is 2025, and I am extremely disappointed that this level of service exists, people should not be made to feel different and embarrassed for such a simple request. I was made to feel degraded by this server. I urge people to AVOID this place at all costs if you value good customer service and basic human manners

Cannot say enough good things about this hotel. The rooms were gorgeous, so spacious & very clean. The ambience of the hotel itself is incredible - beautiful spaces to hang out. There is a rooftop bar with pool, restaurant & bar with an amazing view of the city. The waterfront area for breakfast each morning was such a treat. The spa that is included is fabulous. The staff is so kind and helpful and treat you like you are VIP. Ivan, Carla, Nina, & Nicola made our stay so much more enjoyable. Great location as well. We wished we had more than 3 days here!

Our stay at Adriana was incredible! Great location and fantastic service - they offer bag assistance to and from the ferry. Check-in was a pleasure, very smooth and were able to give us early access to room. Nikolaus & Antonio were so helpful & sweet, they went above and beyond to make sure our stay was stress-free & that we were well taken care of. The included breakfast was delicious and the views from the room did not disappoint! Would stay here again and again.

We had an amazing stay at Adriana Hvar hotel for our honeymoon. They provided top notch customer service and helped us immensely when we left something valuable in our room right as we were boarding our ferry. We definitely recommend. Also be sure to have small bills to tip the guys who help with the ferry and luggage. Also, the view of the water from our room was great!

Excellent! Location is fantastic, rooms ate specious and clean, facilities are great. What matters most is the friendly and hardworking service at any point of the hotel. I cannot recommend more. Yes there is no direct access to a beach, but you want to explore a different beach / island everyday anyway.

just went in today for dinner. Didn’t even stay there as hotel guests, no problem. Seating very smooth, even got a complimentary Prosecco. We’ve got the asparagus for starters, pasta & the tuna steak. Finished it off with a tasty tiramisu. Very good, really liked it! Service was excellent. Waiter was very knowledgeable and classy. Definitely worth the money, even though it’s wasn’t even too pricey. Ended up paying 73 Euro for a starter, two main & dessert. In addition with service and location right at the marina front definitely worth it!

Adriana was the perfect stay on our Croatian journey in Hvar. The service was outstanding and the showers were the best I have ever had. Everything was walking distance and the included breakfast topped it all off. Thank you for your hospitality!!

Beautiful hotel, hindered by the lazy staff. Being lazy won't stop the staff from consistently asking for tips, however. On top of that, the pool is ice cold at 20 degrees. For our October visit, the sea was warmer to swim in, so skip this hotel if the pool sold you. The breakfast was also lackluster, reminding me of cheap roadside hotels in Germany, with a fancy veneer.

Best Hotel what a gem! A bit pricey but it's vacation! First time in Hvar visiting with my friend. The room was so cozy and comfortable. We had a mini terrace outside our room. The restaurant and breakfast was amazing!! We ordered anything and everything off the menu and their lavish food stations. Literally steps away from the docking marina- perfect to just walk outside and get on the boat/ferry for our excursions. Staff was so nice and attentive. I enjoyed our 3 nights in Hvar. We just had the most amazing 2 nights staying at this beautiful hotel. From the moment you disembark you are welcomed and taken to the wonderful reception, the smell, decor and staff tell you it's going to be good. We were blessed to stay in the beautiful suite and we didn't want to leave. Sitting watching the bustle of Hvar from our terrace was an absolute joy. Fantastic hotel in such a great location. The spa facilities were very nice and we went often. A trip to the fortress is worth the effort as you get some amazing photos at the top. A great local restaurant called Alviz is worth a visit.

Excellent location. If you arrive by ferry, you only need to walk a few steps. The room had a great view. The only downside was that the room was quite small, but it was well designed and efficient, with everything we needed. Lovely perks included a welcome drink, flavored water, and traditional cookies. The service was very attentive. Breakfast was probably the best we had in Croatia, featuring prosecco and mimosas, a nice buffet, and stylish brunch dishes to order.

This hotel was excellent! The location was perfect, in the center of everything and walkable to all. The staff were so friendly, kind, and accommodating. The all inclusive breakfast was great- buffet and order from menu. On our last day they gave us waters, fruit, and sandwiches to travel back! We were very happy with our stay and accommodations, would definitely recommend!!

We came here because we were used to quality that Melting Spot had, and we were their customers for years. Unfortunately they sold the business (which is not clear because it still stands the same on google maps) and the new coffee place is quite bad. The quality of coffee is not even near, we had iced late and it was more water than coffee, for the price of 5,5 eur. Never coming back here.

The best coffee we had in all of Croatia and, the best sourdough croissants you may ever taste in your life. We went here 5 days straight because it was so good. Also loved picking up some beautiful ceramic cups to take home with us which are made in Croatia. Great service, lovely atmosphere and amazing people running the shop.

Finding a place to chill or have a relaxed and joyful conversation with people around you is not always an easy thing to do. By just passing by, I knew this would be a place like that. From then on, I went there every morning of my holiday and was looking forward to it. The caring, friendly personal, the food and drinks, the whole atmosphere just works. Highly recommended!

We stayed for 3 nights in a 10-bed room. Overall, the room was comfortable: the beds had privacy curtains, they were cozy, and there was space and lockers available for storing our belongings. However, there were a few issues that affected our stay: 1. Room Security: The door lock was broken, so the key we were given didn’t work. This meant anyone could enter the room freely. At one point, we noticed a guy using the room to store his stuff, even though he wasn’t staying there. He kept coming in to shower and grab his things, not ideal. 2. Cleanliness: We didn’t see anyone come in to clean the room during our stay. As a result, the bathroom felt constantly dirty and unkempt. 3. Storage Room: The luggage storage area looked like an old garage no lockers, no security, and it was accessible from outside the hostel through an open door. I didn’t feel safe leaving my belongings there. This is something that could be easily improved to enhance the overall experience. Now, on the bright side: • The pizza served at the hostel was genuinely delicious! • The cook was super friendly and sweet. • They offer towel rentals, which was really convenient. • The kitchen facilities were decent there’s a fridge and a microwave, though no oven.

Absolutely wonderful environment, energy, and people. The nicest hostel I have stayed in. Everything is kept clean and the beds are comfortable! The curtains are a nice addition and makes you feel like you have your own space. The free pizza every night is delicious and the terrace is a beautiful place to sit and chit chat during sunset (which you have a fantastic view of every night). It becomes very lively at night, the staff is extremely friendly and there’s always a fun group to go out on the town with. The location is perfect, only five minutes away from the ferry and beaches. Best hostel experience I have had so far and would recommend to anyone interested in enjoying their time in Hvar!

I had an amazing stay at Hostel Villa Skansi! The staff were super friendly and welcoming, always ready to help with anything. The whole place was very clean and well-maintained, which made it even more comfortable. One of the highlights was the free pub crawl – such a fun way to meet new people and explore the nightlife. The terrace bar had a great vibe, perfect for hanging out and enjoying a drink. And the biggest bonus: free, delicious pizza every evening! 🍕 It really made the experience unforgettable. I would definitely recommend this hostel to anyone visiting Hvar!

Everything was absolutely perfect during my stay at this hostel. The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and always available if I needed anything! The place is very big and beautiful, with lots of space to share with people. The pizza is delicious and they even have happy hour. It’s close to the center and has a great view. The staff is super friendly, both at reception and in the cleaning areas. I definitely recommend it.

When I arrived at the hostel, there was a wonderful girl working at the reception who told me where to find what. Everything is the same as in the pictures, the staff tries to make you feel at home. Wow.. we had amazing time here. Best food in Hvar.. The service at the restaurant by 2 the brothers was great. They were very attentive, so helpful and funny too. They adjusted the food to my allergies. The sitting is at the rooftop and I must say it felt so special. No unnecessary noises of the people near the dock area. People should definitely try here. Fantastic restaurant, situated up on a cozy rooftop with great views overlooking the City. The food was even better than the view. The burrata with pesto was delicious. For the main, we ordered the daily catch of the day (seabass) roasted in a pan with garlic and a white wine sauce, together with vegetables. Could eat this every day for the rest of our vacation. Highly recommended.

I had such a lovely experience at this restaurant! The food was fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor, but what truly made the evening special was the service.Our waiter was absolutely incredible. From the moment we sat down, he was kind, patient, and genuinely attentive. He took the time to explain the menu, gave us excellent recommendations based on our preferences, and checked in regularly to make sure everything was perfect, without ever being intrusive. He had that rare ability to make you feel both welcomed and taken care of, and it honestly elevated the whole dining experience. You can tell he genuinely cares about his work and the guests. It’s not often you meet someone in hospitality who brings such warmth and professionalism to the table quite literally! We left the restaurant not only full, but also feeling grateful for such wonderful service. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be coming back, especially if I know he’s working!

Dining at Konoba “Luviji Rooftop” was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and attentively taken care of by Luka and Duje, who made us feel like honored guests. The steak, cooked to perfection and topped with a delicate pat of butter, was rich, tender, and full of flavor. This Beach bar is a a wonderful place. The cheeseburger was cooked perfectly. The beers are pretty cold... cold enough but they could be a little colder. The service was pleasant and attentive. One of the highlights beyond all this was the music which was, how do I say, modern and modulated perfectly. Great job guys!

To be honest I was a bit sceptical at the beginning but we were surprised in a very positive way. The food is super tasty (had a cheeseburger, pizza and kebab sandwich) and the prices are fair. The burgers are very big, pizza is normal size but they are not saving on the toppings. I really liked the tomato sauce! We have been served by the boss herself and she was super friendly, attentive, humorous and honest. We also got a free round of some sweeter liquor. We felt super comfortable and welcomed and we will come back and recommend the place 😇🙏🏻

Very nice beach bar with excellent dj, music was amazing. I was there after sup paddling and was very thirsty ... natural mint juice was delicious.

Very cool place. You have everything there and food and drinks are at a reasonable price (beer around 4, cocktails 8, burger slightly above 10 euros). No sunbeds but they have tables and chairs/sofas in the shade. Free parking (lots of space but limited shade) and no walk. Water is simply perfect. Shower available. We went there around noon and it was not crowded. There was also a dj playing good music.

Highly recommend going to Kebab Factory Hvar for a tasty, reasonably priced kebab and/or loaded fries. Unlike usual kebab shops, this restaurant makes the kebabs with fresh vegetables and the meat isn’t overly greasy. Delicious and definitely worth it!

We had a pretty good chicken kebab, but the storefront was pretty strange. The employee told us they only had chicken and that we couldn't modify the vegetables, and then encouraged us to not go inside - he made it the wrap quickly and brought it outside to us along with a card reader. The inside was otherwise empty and the drinks fridge had been cleaned out, which seemed weird considering it was around 6pm.

Generous portions for their kebabs and they tasted amazing. The smoked tofu and chicken in particular tasted great. The owners are very friendly and helpful too and make the experience of dining in more enjoyable. They have an indoor and outdoor seating option available.

Wow. I just had the rudest experience for a waiter I've possibly ever had. I was standing outside and tried to walkside and was greeted with "don't walk inside". I then asked do they serve kebabs without bread and was greeted with NO. There were a few empty tables inside. It appeared all too hard for the male waiter. Shockingly rude service. The food has to be better than the service. What a welcome to hvar moment that was. That waiter is literally repelling customers.

The loaded fries were better than any food I ate in Italy, what a welcome to Croatia. We received great service; we were told upfront that they were understaffed, but we were happy to wait for takeaway and everything was delicious.

The best bar in Hvar! We had delicious fresh pizzas and lots of cocktails - highly recommend the espresso martinis, so tasty. Great value for money too- especially considering the prices in Hvar. We were served by Iva who was so friendly and attentive, plus she recommended some great things from the menu. A must visit if you are on the island.

The pizzas here were really good, they were fresh and came fast once ordered. The location is right in the port of Hvar, you can watch the boats from your table. I would definitely recommend trying the coffee shake too, it’s delicious.

This place is great! If you dine in, you choose your ice cream from the counter at the front and they put it in ice-cold glasses for you which makes for a refreshing treat. I recommend the cherry yoghurt or orange cheesecake flavours. Also the homemade strawberry lemonade was good if you like slightly tart things. Dreamy location so expensive at €16 for two ice creams and two drinks but worth it to shelter from the sun. Service was also really prompt.

We ordered one BC Mig29 burger and Glutenfree Club toast with juices. Portions are large, you are not hungry after a sandwich. Mix juices are average. The tidiness of the place is questionable, and the waitress is listless. The biggest drawback is that you can't get a glass of tap water, even though we spent over 50Eur.

Food wasn’t good, our worst meal in Croatia. French fries tasted stale and had no flavor. Chicken kabobs were not chunks but rather sliced meat that didn’t taste fresh. Would definitely recommend another restaurant. There was not a single other diner on a Friday night and that should have told us something.

I have ordered chicken kebab salad which was 14€ and I do not think the chicken is properly cooked as you can see from the picture. Besides this there are obvious hygiene problems in this bar. I really do not recommend this place at all.

Young lady with a ponytail looked angry when we arrived and was hanging out at a table with her friends. After a few minutes she threw menus at us on our table very forcefully and did not say a word. She did not come back to take our order. We were very uncomfortable and left and she spoke angrily at us while we were leaving. We came in at 10pm and they close in four hours. I recommend avoiding! Who knows what she would have done to our food if we had ordered.

The sandwiches were ok, not great, but ok. The french fries we ordered on the side were one of the most disgusting thing I hve ever had in a restaurant… Soggy, thin and slimy. Definately never seen a fry cooker and most likely microwaved fries.

Sandwich was ok but pricey for what it was. French fries were oily, not crispy and had a ton of salt on top. Drinks also expensive, €7 for water with a squeeze of lemon juice and then marketing it as old fashioned lemonade. Almost €60 spent with drinks, but you can't have a small glass of tap water. Do yourself a favour and try one of the restaurants on either side of Hello sandwich bar. Unfortunately the service also didn't make up for anything. I'm not sure the staff really wanted to be there. They're definitely in the wrong job.

Wow! This was the best meal we’ve had in Hvar. The tacos were amazing. Packed with crunch and flavour. Sauces added a great kick. We also had the nachos to share along which was incredibly delicious. Very friendly and accomodating staff, always smiling and checking in. They even gave us shots of liqueur on the house which hit the spot. This place really took us by surprise. It was good, fast and really flavorful. The portions are quite nice, like we really got full with 6 tacos and some tortilla crisps. We took the chicken and beef options, and they were cooked good, the taco shells had the perfect crunchiness and the fillings were fantastic. I recommend this place, they aren’t so expensive, they offer tap water which is nice, and for Hvar these are good prices. Right in the center, you just have to find the sign and then you’re good, a bit hidden

The tacos and drinks here are simply amazing. The tacos blew our minds of how good they were, seriously. The service was fast and and our servers were amazing. We ended up leaving our sunglasses behind, and came back and they also saved them for us. Overall great experience, would recommend as a spot to get a bite after a day at the beach or in the city.

What a really cool spot in Hvar! Tacos were delicious - crunchy in all the right ways, fresh ingredients and super tasty. The service was also so friendly and attentive! We loved the vibe and atmosphere, especially with the outside seating and mood lighting. Generous portion sizes and the sauces were a nice addition to add even more flavour. Would highly recommend!

Great tacos and fries! Got the 5 taco and shared it. We got the nice to beef you, be my main chick, you're shrimpy the best and 2x keep it shrimple. My favorite was the nice to beef you. We also got fries, they ran out of the jalapeno with cream cheese otherwise we would have got that. It was nice because it came with 3 sauces: garlic, hot and sour cream. Great spot. Came before 7 pm and got a table right away. It seems to get busy after 7pm. Service was great and fast. Great ambiance with string lights and they bring you a table light when it gets dark. Wow! I am from Arizona so I like to think I’ve eaten some pretty amazing tacos, but this place was just amazing! The atmosphere is great (especially if you sit outside) and the playlist is just so perfect to create the right vibes! Might feel weird to get tacos in Croatia instead of some more traditional food, but trust me, you will not regret it. Service was excellent as well.

The best taco restaurant in town! 🌮🔥 The food is incredibly delicious – every bite is full of flavor and freshness. Our waiter Luka was fantastic – friendly, knowledgeable, and truly professional. The owner Ivan personally came to greet us – you can tell he genuinely cares about every guest. Amazing food, even better service, and a wonderful atmosphere. We’ll definitely be coming back! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Good American style (not your traditional Italian or Croatian type pizza) pizza joint servicing the apartments up on the hill and beyond. We placed an order at the shop and chatted with the lovely staff while we waited for the pizzas to be made. Very good pizzas - loved both the Fantasia and the Ultimate Cheese. The regular size is a big pizza, so I thought they were very reasonably priced. Attached a menu with current pricing for Summer 2019

It tasted better than the pizza I had at the pizzeria near the port of Hvar. Both the pizza dough and the degree of baking are above the level of delivery pizza. The price is also reasonable. I can recommend it.

Nice cheap eat, we shared a Gustico pizza and a Greek salad, one beer and one coke for 136 kunas. Everything very flavorful I would have added a little less oil in the salad but it was delicious anyways

We missed the delivery time cut off. It was definitely worth the walk up hill, I was sceptical about the marketing description of the crispers but they live up to their description and would have walked 40minutes round trip again for another portion. Family run business. The pizza was brilliant and the chicken burger probably up there at the best. Bold statement to make after a beer or two. But definitely Worth a consideration when looking for takeaway.

I came hungry - left full of disappointment. I love a good burger joint, so relative to other places I would of scored less. I’ll start with the good. The shakes weren’t that bad, probably the best bit, followed by the fresh buns on the burgers. As for the rest of it. The staff were pretty rude (I understand it’s a delivery place) but still no bathroom facilities. Out order was also mixed up no big deal there though. But the price for what it is, is way over the top. You could eat on the waters edge at a premium restaurant for the same price. Do your self a favour and don’t bother with this place. Unless you can’t leave your apartment and desperately need food delivered. Even then I’d get something else. Bit of a shame as everything else in Eastern Europe has been spot on.

Advertised as a burger bar. There were two tables outside on the street, where people were gathered waiting to order or get their orders. Small space. Wait time was 25 minutes, and this seems like the norm, which would be fine if it was worth it. Paid 133 Kuna for two burgers, a flat fountain coke, and a greek salad. Overpriced in my opinion. Burgers were small, especially compared to the bun, way too much lettuce, one thin slice of tomato, and one pickle. Weak. 5/10 on the burger. Wouldn't recommend either of the burgers we got. Don't order a pop/soda. Greek Salad was ok, mostly because the balsamic vinegar was good. No onions in the salad! WHAT?! Overall, I'd say go somewhere else to eat.

Ćevapi / ćevapčići sandwich with onions and pepper sauce as is traditional - was quite good. Chicken sandwich - Solid quality chicken which is important to us, and not guaranteed at all places we have found so we appreciate that at a fast food place. Also, tender, good flavor, and filling. Popcorn Chicken - Nice crisp, still juicy inside and good side portion. Fries - Not good for us, but it was a big portion so if you like these fries it could be good for you. Wasn’t a big deal to us, we just found them quite heavy/dense/chewy. Not light and crispy as preferred. Service: Maybe the friendliest I’ve experience so far in my 2 weeks around Croatia. Also, we took this back to our balcony on the water about 5 minutes walk and it was still hot - so perfect if you’re staying nearby. Highly recommended

Nice burgers that are affordable compared to the rest of Hvar. Service is fast and very friendly. We got French fries there and hamburgers + cheeseburgers. The meat was a bit salty but of good quality still. We recommend. Most people are taking away but you could also eat on the few table stands. Didn't see guest bathrooms.

Ordered the cevapi with onion and Kajmak, bacon burger and side of fries. Cevapi was great , bread a little thick compared to your typical ljepina but tasty and value for money. Bacon burger tasty and quite a large burger. Fries however were a let down. Cold , no salt & we couldn’t eat them. Appreciate it was a busy night , wait was about 15-20mins however the chips tasted like they had been sitting there for a bit, not fresh.

We tasted the Mediterranean chicken salad and the cheeseburger. Everything was amazing ! It’s really the cheapest one in Hvar and the food is delicious

Best restaurant for those who want convenience and good food. Generous portions, fair prices and delicious flavors. The service is also very kind. I could have eaten every dish on their menu during my stay in Hvar and would have been happy

We were so happy to finally find something affordable and most of all tasty. Portion sizes were amazing and drinks also a good size. Just a small walk up the hill will reward you. I’m so glad we came here:)

The food was exactly what we were hoping for, fresh, flavorful, and spot-on. The cevapi were tasty and fairly priced, with that authentic homemade touch. Definitely worth the walk up the hill from town. Easily a 11/10 experience, highly recommended!

Pizza was okay. Price is nice compared to other shops in town. We got full freshly made Margarita and poured some Tabasco on top of it. 110kn for full pizza and 15kn/piece.

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. With all the Gelato places in Hvar, Croatia, Pizza Feta - is so bad that I have no idea how they stay in business. So if you're Gelato is severely subpar, you'd think that they would try to make it up with exceptional customer service, right? NOPE. The woman who served us couldn't have treated us worse. Her open hostility, contempt and overall horrible attitude was so bad that instead of ordering for all five of us, we stopped at one person, turned on our heels and walked up the block to the next place. Worse, the Gelato was terrible. No flavor, flat and greasy tasting. Just awful. Not sure what her problem was, but the owners should really re-evaluate her employment and find another source for their Gelato. Stay Away!

Other reviews seem to be mixed here, but our experience was fine. We had takeaway ice cream (€3 per scoop) — tasty enough, though the service could have been a little friendlier.

Asking for a tip but not even allowing a tasting?! That is so wrong! And it’s not even a polite “Sorry no tasting please” here it’s “NO TASTING!” That’s not how you get your well paying American customers! They pay for SERVICE, FRIENDLINESS AND CUSTOMER SERVICE including a simple PLEASE and a minimum of communication and smalltalk. None of this existed here. Stay away from this place! Lots of better places in town!

Pizza was terrible. We asked the employee to heat the pizza, and she rolled her eyes and said "it's already hot." It wasn't. Tasted like cardboard and the restaurant was filth. Might be OK if you're totally hammered but otherwise, other restaurants nearby are better options for real food and humane service.

Ice cream looks good but doesn’t taste good. Flavors, if any, are very artificial. Mostly tasted like water. Which explains why you can’t try it in advance. Otherwise you probably wouldn’t buy it. Considering it was the most expensive ice cream I’ve ever had I can only call this a joke.

As expected for the price. Keep in mind: they only take cash, and there’s nowhere to sit, and pizzas with “olives” are pizzas with a singular olive. Very quick service, and good for sharing

Delicious & fresh Croatian pizza! Been staying in Hvar two weeks and found this place next to my air bnb so decided to give it a try. My girlfriend had the Mushrooms, olives and ham and loved it and I made my own which was pepperoni, olives, capers, & anchovies and it was absolutely brilliant! All in all it’s a great price and solid pizza quality! Trust me I worked at a pizza place for 5 years I know pizza!!! Also the cevapi and fries were great and for the price you can’t beat it!

I got one olive on my pizza, (chose this pizza because I wanted olives) other than that…. Alright pizza.

We ordered two pizzas 🍕 from Malu and both were perfect 👌🏻 The woman working there is adorable and it takes less than 15’ to prepare. Recommended🤞🏻

Best pizza in Hvar - fantastic base. Ignore the negative reviews, the service was excellent. Edit: returned the following day and got the smoked ham and cheese sandwich - also excellent and very reasonably priced for Hvar - highly recommended.

Such an arrogant lady. Nobody was at the counter so we called the number. We waited for her to come outside for 5-10 minutes and when she did she was annoyed with us. When you are in a group she doesn't let you pay separately. We left the "pizzeria" without ordering anything because the lady was so arrogant and obnoxious. I highly recommend avoiding this place. There are other pizzerias that even do delivery.

After going through all negative reviews I thought to give a try as the place was next to our apartment. The Pizza was delicious and everything went well along with the ordering and waiting process. It took less than 15 minutes to get the pizza.

I agree with a previous review that this is a hidden gem on Hvar. Stunning scenery, great food and beach. Very friendly and professional service in the restaurant both from the waiter and the chef/owner. We were driving around the island and stopped for lunch and a swim. This is one of the most beautiful places of Hvar that I’ll bring with me home.

Lovely spot for beach, swim, and climbing. The food was fresh and tasty, we had the octopus salad and the grilled lamb. Just the view is worth a visit. Also - good wifi connection!

A true hidden gem on Hvar, wedged between two cliffs, outwards facing the ocean. The pizza is the best I've had, in my short time in Croatia. Amazing crust and toppings. The waitress was correct that I'd over ordered, but I had to try the Black Risotto.

We sat down and were told by the waitress that she would be with us shortly. But no one came. After about 20 minutes, I got up and took the menu myself. Once we had chosen what we wanted, we closed the menu to indicate we were ready to order. Staff were walking around us, clearing tables, and we were clearly trying to get their attention. Still, nobody approached us. Meanwhile, other guests who arrived after us were served and even received their food. After waiting another 30 minutes with no service at all, we decided to leave. The food looked good, but for those prices, I’d recommend heading inland and finding a local restaurant where the staff is more attentive

An experience with mixed feelings, this title, I think, describes best what we have experienced here. First, the positives: The ambiance is beautiful. The small bay is definitely worth a visit if you are staying on the island of Hvar. There is hardly any car or boat traffic down there, so you mostly hear soft voices and the sound of the sea. It becomes especially beautiful when the singers from the bay gather in the adjacent café; I have rarely heard such a beautiful hobby tenor. You can sit either under cover or on the side of the restaurant right on the beach. The water flows just under three meters away over the pebbles when you sit there. You sit on old wooden benches at old wooden tables; in general, everything in this restaurant is designed to look like it's from around 1700. This should correspond to the general age of the settlement in the bay, but unfortunately, information about it is somewhat scarce to find in German. It's clean; neither dust nor cobwebs are to be found in the guest area. The exterior facade and the direct beach area on the side are also clean and well-maintained. Tables are cleared quickly and wiped down neatly. There is a nice wooden stand with oil, vinegar, salt, and pepper for every meal. The next plus point is the food. They can make pizza, and they do it well. Fluffy dough, airy crust, lots of toppings, delicious sauce, and all of it in a generous size. All in all, a darn good pizza. You can also get it for takeout. We only tried pizzas, but there is a fairly extensive menu given the remote location. Unfortunately, all of this is marred by the following points: The opening hours are at best opaque. Google says it's open until 1 a.m., which is fundamentally incorrect. The door says it's open until 10 p.m., but this is probably only true for the peak season until the end of August. I was there in early September at 8:45 p.m. and wanted to take away 2 pizzas; the oven was already off, and the cook was cleaning up. I had to drive 30 minutes to Jelsa to get something to eat (see review Pizza Pape in Jelsa). According to our hotelier, even locals don't get a clear answer about this; apparently, they decide when to close on a whim. This brings me to the next negative point: the staff. There are restaurants where you walk to the entrance and feel like these people want to serve you. You get greeted, asked what you want, assigned a table if you want to dine there, and given a menu. In good restaurants, the staff at least maintains a professionally friendly demeanor, if not genuinely friendly. Not here. The Grinch himself seemed to have a serious problem with me walking through the door. I couldn't explain the expression on their faces any other way. If it hadn't been late and if we hadn't been hungry, I would have walked out backwards. And it wasn't just one waitress; ALL of them seemed to have serious digestive issues. And continuous communication seemed impossible; all answers were muttered monosyllables. Speaking probably wasn't conducive to the mentioned digestive problems. Unfortunately, it seems the owners can afford to behave this way, as I have heard from local sources that this has been going on for some time. And that brings me to the last point on the negative list: the prices. At times, it's 180% of what I pay in Germany for a pizza of the same size with the same toppings, and that's not even justified by the fantastic quality. Especially not when I consider the staff and their manners. For the same money, I got a full dinner with sides and a drink in town, and the staff was friendly and courteous. Sorry, but that's just not acceptable. The beautiful, peaceful ambiance doesn't really help either. For me, during the next vacation, it's only takeout as a last resort unless things change regarding the manners. I don't need to feel like I'm bothering someone important while eating. And there must be transparent opening hours; when I'm hungry, I don't want to gamble on whether I can still get something to eat here or if I have to drive to town.
