The overall experience at Restaurante IceWolf Pontevedra was pleasant, but there are some suggestions to be made regarding their Nepalese momo dish. The momo lacked authentic Nepali flavors and seemed more like a Chinese dish. It is recommended that they use traditional Nepali ingredients to truly capture the essence of the cuisine.
Food was incredible, group of 5 of us all loved every single thing that was ordered Service was the best we have had on our camino trip, so much attention to detail and so friendly. Xela was particularly fantastic. Great value! 100% recommended.

Fantastic food, excellent service delicious scallops, highly recommended, need to reserve unless you’re lucky
Muir K — Google review
3rd time (28 July 2023) - this time with my partner ☆☆☆ I was a bit embarrassed to have recommended it to him as he, being a local & someone who has travelled a lot, didn't enjoy it, at all. My experience this time? So-so. So most likely this the last visit. 2nd time (18 July 2023) - ☆☆☆☆☆ Yum! Had lunch here (menu del dia) on my birthday. I had revuelto and guiso. To make sure you have a table especially during the summer, make sure to reserve a table online—here. No need to call them as they are juggling 50 things at the same time. They have tables outside, too if that's what you prefer. Personally, I prefer to be inside. They don't have gluten-free bread, at least with the menu del dia, so may want to bring your own. You can see their menu del dia on their website. 1st time (13 July 2023) - ☆☆☆☆☆ Nice, elegant and welcoming ambience. Spic and span. Tables well-set and not too close to each other. It was our first time. Menu del dia @ €12.50 which includes a drink, a starter and a main (both of which have only 2 options to choose from, and dessert (just one available—but I suppose they change it every day) or coffee/infusion/tea. I had sopa/crema de remolacha con coco (beetroot soup with coconut) and arroz meloso con merluza (rice cooked longer than usual with hake). Both yummy! (As I didn't get a dessert) I like the fact that I can just reserve a table online—and you get a confirmation of your booking at once. So there's really no need to call them. Friendly, warm and funny staff—very efficient. It gave me the feeling I was eating at home. Very rare in Galicia to get that kind of friendliness and a good sense of humor at that! It was like we were friends! Strange, I know but I'm definitely coming back to let my husband try their food and their hospitality. He will like it for sure. Well-presented food. Dishes you mostly can't find elsewhere (the menu del dia at least). My friend and I really enjoyed our lunch there—a bit challenging when it's a menu del dia in my experience... I was actually hesitant to go at first because of the 1 star reviews—but we didn't regret coming here at all! Perhaps the one thing I'd like to comment was the absence of toilet paper and/or tissues in the female's toilet. I suppose that was because it was a full-house and they were swamped with work left and right so it was ok. I'm definitely bringing my pocket tissue next time, just in case! 😄

Food was absolutely amazing, couldn't fault anything. Tacos, burger, dumplings, salmon were all delicious. Waitress Xela was fantastic too, recommending dishes. So informative. Would recommend this place to anyone.
Kiarna B — Google review
Amazing food, from different parts of the world, with chef's special touch. Menu is regularly revised and changed. Selection of cocktails for everyone. Top notch service. And every detail, down to glasses, has been carefully selected. A permanent entry on our holiday go-to plan, even though it means a bit of a drive. 6/5 basically.
Alex K — Google review
Fun, modern-style place in downtown. Very interesting treatment of some familiar plates. The partially open kitchen is interesting as they prepare and finish the dishes.

The Menu Del Dia is the best I have had along the camino in Spain. The service was quick and the food was phenomenal! Would 10/10 recommend for the quality, taste and service!

Farmers Markets
Mercado Municipal de Pontevedra offers a unique and diverse experience for visitors. The market is filled with a wide variety of fresh seafood, fruits, vegetables, meats, and bread. Visitors can purchase fresh fish from the stalls and then head to the first floor where they can have their purchases cooked or grilled to their preference. The market also provides an opportunity to enjoy a meal based on the freshest fish at reasonable prices accompanied by excellent service until early afternoon.
AMAZING!!! MUST TO GO!!! Get your fresh catch you can only imagine or choose from huge selection of meats, buy it and bring it up stairs where lovely people in the bar Praza will prepare it for you in your preferred way. It just can't be any fresher and better in general.
Tomas Z — Google review
This is an authentic market with lots of fish and seafood (love the aroma). The best time to visit in the morning when everything is at its freshest. There is even a small restaurant upstairs that will cook and serve your fish that you purchase downstairs! You can find public washrooms upstairs too.
Ken H — Google review
A truly intriguing experience! After an exciting visit to this fascinating market, full of variety, we opted to buy fresh fish from the stalls. Once the purchase was made, we took the opportunity to go up to the first floor, where the fish is cooked or grilled the way you want it. The result? A meal based on the freshest fish, masterfully prepared and served at a very reasonable price, all accompanied by excellent service. It is important to note that the service is available until 13.00/13.30, so it is advisable to plan your visit in order to take full advantage of this extraordinary culinary experience. Well maintained open air market. That offers local seafood, chicken and beef. You can also find vegetables, fruits and flowers. A small number of stalls that sell cheeses and wine. The upstairs offers kitchen that will cook the seafood.
Mark D — Google review
Really cool market. Downstairs is the traditional Spanish market with fruit, veg, fish and meat. We picked up a few chorizos. Not expensive, Upstairs is a range of tapas bars, wine and cocktail bars. Great place to visit, eat a tapa or have a drink. We had a vermouth - lovely. We had a few tapas - cheap and good. Such a nice place. Something for everyone

Shop your seafood 🦞 fresh below, then have them cooked for €3-4/item and wine by the glass above! I went to “Bar La Plaza” in a quiet corner. Beat place to try percebes and other seafood you always wanted. 👉 Attached receipt of 2 items (indicative prices based on season and availability)

If you come to Pontevedra you must see that place... Its an old and traditional market where you can see the fish and lobsters and shellfish still alive... On the top floor there are restaurants Lugar excepcional para ver marisco y pescado de verdad...

Casa Fidel O'Pulpeiro is a renowned seafood tavern located in the heart of the city, offering an unassuming yet delightful dining experience. The restaurant is highly recommended for those seeking traditional Galician cuisine made with high-quality ingredients at reasonable prices.
This is THE place for Pulpo a la Gallega (octopus Galicia style) in Pontevedra! We went there on purpose, as it was highly recommended by locals, and we were delighted by the taste. We even ended up repeating our Pulpo! The place is a regular local joint with simple decor, but the service was 5star. I would say that if one hasn't tried this in Pontevedra, then please do!
Darryl P — Google review
Whilst they have very big variety of seafood my only problem was that everything was a bit too cooked for seafood. Usually when u order seafood u expected a bit less red than it was...I think because of that we can't say that the seafood was so special, but the "pulpo de freita" and the "almejas" were very good.
Miltos M — Google review
Could not recommend this place more! Amazing atmosphere- sit either indoors or outside but watch the pulpo being cooked in a huge vat and the locals buzz in and out. Highly recommend making a reservation or coming early to queue as the spots fill up quick! I recommend it all- the pictures for itself
Yi C — Google review
A great place to try traditional food from galicia. We had octopus, sausage in wine, empanada, croquetas and a cheese cake. All of the dishes were great but the octopus sandwich with cheese was the favorite. Also the service is on spot even though there are many tables the dishes arrive in time and the service is done always with a smile. It's busy so make sure to be early or reserve before coming
Janek L — Google review
Delicious Pulpo a Feira and Zamburiñas!!! Excellent service, super fast! Great bread to dip in olive oil and octopus juice!!! Kind and helpful staff. Near the city centre. Good prices. Totally recommend!
Marcos V — Google review
Amazing tapas , seafood very fresh . Everything tasted perfect. Highly recommended by a local and was not disappointed. Staff were very helpful with food selection and can ask for English menu . Get there a little before 8 pm if you want table , tables fill up pretty quick.
KB M — Google review
The fish croquettes are out of this world! The octopus tender, moist and juicy!
JB A — Google review
The pulpo is extraordinary tender and delicious. Definitely worth it. Other dishes I have had better at other places. But Tiramisu was also absolutely 5 stars one of the best. Wine was delicious and fresh. Prices are very down to earth. Service is great! You have to know what you came for to appreciate it.

Every dish is carefully crafted with the highest quality, fresh ingredients, ensuring a genuine and unique taste in every bite. What sets this place apart is its inclusivity, offering an extensive menu of gluten-free, lactose-free, and vegan-friendly options. Located on Calle Virgen del Camino, it has been recognized as the best Italian restaurant in Europe outside Italy.
Love Italian food, went here as a stop on my Camino. Lasagne was absolutely brilliant, still simmering when brought to my table. Definitely go here when you fancy a good pasta after a long day of walking!
Johanna S — Google review
The lasagne was really, really good and served in a pan still sizzling. The service was top notch too, Jose was lovely and very good at his job. The restaurant was very nicely done with all tables set with tablecloths, cutlery and glassware.
Deb L — Google review
We had lasagna, spaghetti alle vongole, pizza and calamares. The pasta is a little bit overcooked but taste was really good, so I would still give it 5 stars. For dessert we have the tiramisu and chocolate cake - we enjoyed it as well. Service wise, the people were very friendly and nice - just that this place is quite popular that there were a lot of people so there were moments where we have to wait a bit to have the desserts. Atmosphere was buzzing with a lot of people and it was nice to see family and friends gathering and eating together🙌🏼
Eleanor G — Google review
Excellent pizza! Everyone in my group enjoyed their food. I ordered a takeaway pizza-make SURE you ask the restaurant to cut the pizza into slices. I didn’t have anything to cut it with at the hotel so I had to tear it. Not a pretty sight…
Mary K — Google review
If you are a traveler looking for some great food, this is the place. The food was extremely delicious, for a great price, and the service was fantastic. The restaurant was very clean, and the atmosphere was superb. We were here for the world championships, and they have food for every diet. I throughly enjoyed coming here all four nights I was staying in Pontevedra. You will love this place, and the staff will make you feel like family. Enjoy the meal!

Located in Rua Real, La Culpa de la Gula is a unique restaurant in Pontevedra known for its original and high-quality culinary offerings. The menu changes monthly, ensuring a diverse and delicious dining experience. The restaurant offers excellent service and a welcoming atmosphere suitable for all guests, including those with reduced mobility. With an extensive wine list and exquisite dishes such as croquettes, tacos, and wantung, it provides a refreshing escape from traditional cuisine in the area.
I arrived to this place by chance with time friends. We shared four dishes and we absolutely loved all of them. Everything was extraordinarily tasty and the portions were perfect to be shared between four people. Our choices included octopus, pork rib, a curry durum and a pork toast. Everything was perfect, although they change their menu each month. We didn't have anything special to drink, but we only paid 14€ each for the meal, so it was a perfect lunch. I'd be delighted to come back
Lost D — Google review
After having eaten much Galician food this little place comes across as a breath of fresh air. Their inventive combination of local ingredients to yield something entirely different and incredibly tasty is to be lauded and supported! My wife and I discovered a great Rioja and a Mencia. We had their salad with figs (brilliant!), the salted tuna with mozzarella (a first for us) and their Vietnamese salad rolls filled with local pork pancetta (melt in the mouth!). The service was great, helpful without over promising and really friendly staff. Anyone visiting Pontevedra should stop by for a meal or two and I am sure you will not regret it!

The menu changes every month and that is a very good plus to want to come back and try new things. Varied wine list. The dishes are good in quantity and rich in flavor. The croquettes, the tacos, the wantung are very delicious. We were left wanting dessert but our stomach was already telling us enough to eat. Very balanced price quality. Highlight the attention and kindness of the room staff. We will return without hesitation (Original) He ido a cenar con una persona con movilidad reducida. Un trato excelente desde el minuto 1. It has a dining room, terrace and a couple of tables next to the bar where you can also eat. The food is truly innovative and exquisite, always having the local product present but with a “foreign” staging... a full-fledged fusion. Excellent service and attention. They also have good wines to accompany food or simply for tasting. Good value for money. (Original) De buena casualidad caimos en este sitio ubicado en una de las muchas callejuelas de Pontevedra. Los Castellanos, situated at Rua da Oliva 23 in Pontevedra, is a charming eatery offering traditional Spanish dishes such as empanada, xoubas stew, chicken stew, and various fish dishes. The restaurant is known for its acclaimed brownie with ice cream and hot chocolate for dessert. Despite the language barrier experienced by some visitors, the warm atmosphere and delicious food exceeded expectations.
The paella is really good, full of different kinds of seafood, and can feed 3 people. It takes around 50 minutes to prepare though, which is communicated. They fish empanada for starter was also pretty good. Great service!

Freshest, sweetest tiger prawns I’ve ever had! Sold by the kilo, I was happy with a half. Paired with some Godello, nice afternoon snack! Other fresh shellfish available.

The menu del día here is priced at around 13€ and includes a drink, first course, main course, and either coffee or dessert. The servings are huge, so make sure you arrive hungry—you’ll definitely get your money’s worth. One thing to note: this is not a tapas place. The menu has no “tapa” option, only “raciones” (full portions). That means if you order something outside of the menu del día, it comes as a complete plate—great for sharing, but not ideal if you’d like to try several dishes on your own. I have to admit, catching a glimpse of part of the kitchen through a doorway near the toilets was a bit off-putting. Still, I imagine it’s simply due to the building’s age, as it used to be a bakery decades ago. Service was excellent the first time I went with my friend, but the second time I went with my family of 9 people in total, not as much. Seating-wise, they also seat people inside, which is more geared toward diners. The tables in front of the bar, on the other hand, seem made for those just having a glass of wine. That actually makes me wonder if they might have had tapas after all—we were only offered the lunch menu. During both my first and second visits, the dining area became uncomfortably hot. Unlike the bar area, the dining room suffers from poor ventilation with no windows or air circulation. The temperature became so oppressive that my husband was visibly sweating throughout our meal, and even my friend visiting from Belgium commented on how stifling the atmosphere was. This restaurant was recommended to us when I mentioned that we’d like to have some seafood, and I’d agree it was a strong choice. After nearly a decade of living in Pontevedra, I’d say their menu del día (at least the one I tried) was well worth it—easily better than Casa Digna’s, La D’Fran’s, and maybe even O Cañon de Pau’s.

The Mercado Municipal de Pontevedra is a vibrant hub of culinary delights that promises an unforgettable experience for food lovers. As you wander through the bustling stalls on the ground floor, you'll be greeted by an array of fresh produce, including fruits, vegetables, and a stunning selection of fish and seafood. The enticing aromas fill the air, making it hard to resist picking up some chorizos or other local delicacies.

This is an authentic market with lots of fish and seafood (love the aroma). The best time to visit in the morning when everything is at its freshest. There is even a small restaurant upstairs that will cook and serve your fish that you purchase downstairs! You can find public washrooms upstairs too.

AMAZING!!! MUST TO GO!!! Get your fresh catch you can only imagine or choose from huge selection of meats, buy it and bring it up stairs where lovely people in the bar Praza will prepare it for you in your preferred way. It just can't be any fresher and better in general.

If you find yourself in Pontevedra, make sure to indulge your sweet tooth at Bico de Xeado, a gem known for its artisanal ice cream. This delightful spot offers handcrafted flavors made from 100% natural milk sourced from local cows, ensuring each scoop is rich and creamy. The mint chocolate cone is particularly popular among fans, providing a refreshing treat that tantalizes the taste buds.
It's the very best ice cream you can have in Europe. My favorite combination is "dulce de leche" with "banana" I love it and I've been to many others bico do ceado around Spain. Salamanca, Ourense, Lugo, Santander, Gijón... and many others. They have the authentic Argentinian dulce de leche. Just try it and share! It's time to open this place in Portugal! 🤞🤞

Bico de Xeado in Pontevedra is a great stop if you’re craving quality ice cream. The flavors are deep and rich—clearly made with care and good ingredients. You can mix two flavors in a single (pretty small) cup, which is perfect if you’re indecisive or just want to try more. The texture is super creamy and smooth, and the sweetness is well balanced. It’s tucked into a nice spot in town, so it’s easy to grab a cup while strolling around. Definitely worth a visit if you’re into artisanal ice cream.

ALL the flavors are gluten free. If you are celiac, they will scoop your ice cream from a new carton so there is no cross-contamination (they have both GF and regular cones). Amazing ice cream, it's a chain in several cities including Santiago de Compostela.

We had a short amount of time while in Port from our cruise last October. We weren’t sure where to eat, but this place has good reviews, and we decided to try it out. We were NOT disappointed. The people there were so kind to us (it’s often awkward going places where we don’t speak the language). The food was delicious, the portions very generous, and the prices were even good! Every one of us loved it and were sad when we had to rush away to meet back up with our tour. Fast and easy place for pasta and pizza. Fabulous location in one of our most favorite cities in Spain. This town was not inundated with tourists, but more of a family town. So many families with kids of all ages shopping and eating and just enjoying great weather in one of the many city spaces! Safe, filled with life, laughter, history and gorgeous architecture. Several kids shops, science and play... a favorite area to be sure. Pontevedra is a city you want to be in and part of, filled with all goodness and security that I have never felt in any US city. It wasn't the most exciting meal you'll have here but a safe option, open before 8pm too.... And just €10 for both courses and a drink! You can build your own pizza salad or pasta. The staff were young friendly and efficient
David S — Google review
This is not the most exciting pasta or pizza, however, many people will find its merits compelling. It opens earlier than most restaurants in Pontevedra. You can build your own pizza, pasta, or salad. The service is quite quick. Ironically, it probably takes longer to order than to receive the food. The prices are quite cheap and with just over 10 euros you can have a salad, a pasta and a drink. The pasta is extremely overcooked and not particularly good. This isn't an Italian restaurant after all. The salads are covered with sauce but I presume you could ask not to have any or have it on the side.

So, I’m easily pleased, in a way. As a celiac with a lactose intolerance doing the Camino, I often find myself eating out of supermarkets, so ANYTHING/ANYWHERE offering me food that won’t hurt me gets rave reviews. As many others have said, gf dedicated menu, cooking area and utensils, and lactose free cheese, makes for a satisfying change from that brand of gf bread sold across Europe. You all know the one!
