The star dishes here are the dumplings which everyone says are fantastic. Listening to fellow diners around the room the mumours are “…and you must get the dumplings they are fabulous!” Ordered three platefuls, two lots of steamed dumplings “Organic pork, leek, and ginger” “Organic curried lamb, curry leaf and cayenne” And one lot of fried dumplings the “Free range chicken, lime and 4-pepper with Japanese style mayo” The chicken ones were my favourite and I say outstanding without a pause and using the word correctly and without hesitation A bowl of perfectly made Hakata Noodles in a House Broth was made to look simple when the art of preparing such a simple dish is lost on many The roasted pork belly with pickled mustard seeds was unctuous, rich and fatty in all the right ways The fried chicken Kara-age with lemon pepper butter dressings shone brightly on the table and was another excellent example of making good food properly Overall a clear 10 out of 10

Came here during our bank holiday weekend escape from London, and what a gem it turned out to be. It’s tucked away in a little alleyway but easy to find. We were seated in the downstairs bar area which has a mix of high and low seating, with just the right balance of cozy and charming. I didn’t catch our waiter’s name but I believe he’s one of the managers. His service was impeccable from start to finish. We loved all the food but the charred pork belly is a must try. You can truly taste how much love goes into every dish. We got to have a chat with the chef, Brendan. His warmth and passion for his craft shone through, making us feel incredibly welcome. The folks at Dorshi genuinely care about and love what they do, and that made for an amazing experience. Can’t wait to come back!

My husband and I sat in the bar area last week. Got a lush view of the kitchen, folk coming through the door and the whole vibe was perfect. I've had dumplings once in my life before, never really reach for them but they were fab. The pork belly dish with the jus, CRAZY good. Wish I could have eaten more. This kind of place is not to be missed!

My partner and I recently visited Dorshi whilst on holiday and with an evening to ourselves. This charming little place is truly a gem and I can honestly not think of anything at all during our dining experience that was not outstanding. The food was utterly glorious, as were the drinks. The atmosphere was cosy and relaxed, and the staff friendly and knowledgeable about the food and drink they are selling. It was one of the most enjoyable eating experiences I think I’ve ever had, I wouldn’t have a second thought about going again if I happen to find myself anywhere within an hour’s drive, and I would heartily recommend anyone looking for great food in the Bridport area to try them out. Absolutely fantastic.

A small, informal restaurant, hidden away off the main road. But what a find!! A really lovely relaxed atmosphere, with incredible food and lovely cocktails. Good choices for vegans too. Would definitely recommend.

My favourite place to eat and grab coffee, have loved this place since it opened and it’s such a treat to visit, I’ve never had a bad experience here. The team are always friendly, accommodating, and appear to have great communication. It was a busy market day when we visited and yet the service was exceptional - food arrived quickly, and despite a constant flow of people wanting a seat, we didn’t feel at all rushed and enjoyed a peaceful, delicious lunch. Like the food, the coffee is always made to a high standard. Though some may think it a simple thing, the carrot sandwich is anything but, and I highly recommend! Always an insanely good selection of cakes/deserts (I love the basque cheesecake and chocolate brownie) and the decor and ambience adds to the great experience. I will continue to recommend Soulshine to everyone!

What a little gem! Amazing coffee, really friendly staff along with great service. It was market day so they were packed but service was delightful and quick. We had breakfast (fried eggs on sourdough & buttermilk pancakes) and it was all delicious 😋 would definitely recommend and would love to visit again in the cooler months and try the soups ☺️

What a gorgeous little cafe! We popped in for breakfast and had such a lovely time. There's a variety of seating options at a table, window bar or outside. The staff are so friendly and personable. We ordered pancakes and baked beans with halloumi and eggs and there wasn't a crumb or smudge of sauce left on the plates. Such comfort food. Coffee was delicious as well. Thank you Soulshine team!

Super little restaurant serving lots of local fare. Good value considering pubs are asking the same amount these days. Served with care and food very well presented. I had linguine gambas (which were massive), preceded by a deliciously fresh salmon pate. Good selection of wines by the glass or bottle and an espresso coffee for £2! Deffo coming here again.

Had a really nice meal here on Friday night. Food was very nice. Starters we opted for Prawns which were cooked in a curry based sauce, very smooth and rich. The white hake catch of the day was cooked to perfection. Highly recommend this dish. The staff were also helpful and kind and explained all dishes and desserts in detail

I think the Olive Tree in Bridport is probably the best restaurant I’ve ever dined in. I’ve dined there several times over the last few years and have always enjoyed the food. It’s consistently of a very high quality and always extremely tasty. My most recent visit was the first time I have experienced the lunchtime Spectacular which I found an absolute delight and would highly recommend. There is always a crowd of at least eight of us that dine together and the service has always been first class and very professionally managed so never any dishes arriving late or cool. My daughter is vegan and gluten free and has always been very well catered for. I have tried various options on the menu over the years and have always been very happy with my dining experience. The prices are very reasonable for the standard of cuisine served at the Olive Tree and I would highly recommend it if you fancy a tasty treat extravaganza.

Our recent dinner at the Olive Tree in Bridport was really very good indeed. A pleasant room with attentive service. A tempting menu. Both our starters reached the 'try some of mine' level of taste. The catch of the day was beautifully cooked fresh fish with simply but beautifully cooked local vegetables. The cheese board was so good we took some home to continue the next day. Prices were extremely reasonable.

Easy 5 stars. For the quality of the food and the portion sizes, it is very reasonably priced. I think I had half a trawlers worth of mussels in my pasta. The waitresses were also great.

This is a great place for seafood. The pizzas are nice too - they have a pizza oven. I recommend the catch of the day. It comes with a nice butter sauce and a nice selection of steamed veg, slightly different than usual, which was quite lovely. If you like mussels, the seafood spectacular is the one to go for. I also enjoyed the fish soup. Attentive service and nice atmosphere. It’s nice either for lunch or dinner. I’ve found, if I just walk in, I won’t be guaranteed a table because it’s quite popular. Best to call ahead and book.

Absolutely brilliant meal! Food was delicious - fairly simple but well cooked and excellent flavour - a home-cooked feel but fantastic. Most of the mains served with a choice of veg or salad and potatoes or chips, and a great mix of fish, meat and veggie options. Dessert was also amazing! Three of us had three different mains and desserts and all thoroughly enjoyed them all! Service was also fab, the two waiting staff were friendly and attentive. There was a bit of a wait for food as it's obviously a small operation and it was busy, but very relaxed and worth the wait! Would definitely return if back in the area.

Lovely place, delicious food, with high service. The staff ensures that visitors get the maximum pleasure. Definitely recommend. But to be sure that you will get here, it is better to book a table in advance, especially on weekends. We came on Friday and it was fully booked. So we came back on Saturday, but previously booked a place.

Smashing atmosphere in this lovely seaside bistro. The well trained staff were both attentive and knowledgeable yet managed to stay anonymous enough, as to not be in the way. The food was great and the portions just right. We were left pleasantly full without being stuffed!

Just fabulous. The staff were polite and friendly. The atmosphere was perfect, the service was swift but not rushed, and the food was amazing. Good size portions, but not too much. Food was cooked to perfection. My partner likes his steak blue, he said it was exactly as he wanted. Will definitely be going again.

The food was just amazing and so was the service. It was so good we booked to go back 2 days later. Again we were not disappointed by the food or service. I had the lamb shank, which was so tender and on the second visit I had steak WOW. My husband had the hake and then the chicken supreme i can tell you that was also very nice

dinner for 4, on a Saturday evening. Easy to find and warm and welcoming, the atmosphere was good and the staff were friendly and the service was very good. However food wise, it promised much, but delivered little. I asked the three others in our group to rate the food out of 10, and was given a resounding 4. The main issue was the complete lack of curry taste. Presentation was good, nice plates, dishes etc, the food though totally lacking in spice, seasoning, added flavour, more stew than curry. For example, my Madras Hot curry to accompany my biriani was basically vegetable stew. No added spice, no kick, no where near Madras taste or heat. It was a shame as it is a decent looking place, nice staff, just not Indian food. £126 for 4 adults, see below.

Absolutely Horrendous Experience – Ruined Our Celebration! We ordered four biryanis and one chicken 65 from The Sundorbon yesterday, and it was the worst decision we’ve ever made. First of all, the order arrived completely leaked with yogurt everywhere, this was supposed to be my sister’s special meal for our celebration, but it turned into a total disaster. Now let’s talk about the food itself: the biryani was an utter joke. The chicken pieces were bone-dry, the rice swimming in excessive oil, and there was zero flavour. As for the chicken 65, it was a complete mess, the batter and chicken were literally separated, making it look like it fell apart in the kitchen. When we asked for raita, we were shocked to get something disgustingly sweet, in NO region of India is raita ever sweet! I seriously doubt if their chefs have even set foot in India. This restaurant pretends to serve Indian food, but it’s a disgrace to the cuisine. They clearly have no idea how to cook authentic Indian dishes. We are extremely disappointed and furious that our celebration was ruined by this pathetic excuse of a restaurant. Avoid at all costs!

A loooong wait for our food. An hour and 10 minutes from ordering. Same with all the tables around us. There were people coming in for takeaways, queuing up by our table and waiting for up to 45 minutes having already waited at home for much longer. At least two asked for refunds and left. The staff did their best but something is very wrong in their kitchens or they accepted too many online orders and the restaurant diners suffered as a consequence. The food was tasty but not spectacular for 'authentic' Indian. The raita and chutneys were quite weakly flavoured and very runny. We were offered free drinks as were our neighbours but we'd rather have had our food in a more timely manner. The place was utter chaos, what with staff and waiting customers squeezing past each other around seated diners. (We were near the bar). Not altogether the best experience. The staff held themselves together very well and remained cheerful and pleasant throughout. Would I return? Yes, I'd give it another try in case this was a one off. PS to the owners, get your plate warmers sorted out. Your staff were burning their hands trying to fish them out because they're not operating correctly.

Ordered for collection as the previous time took over 2 hours past the delivery time to arrive and forgot 4 poppadoms which cost £1 each. We ordered for 6 people and they said it would be ready for 7:30 for collection 8:30 comes around and it's still not ready, all the excuses were made until they turn around and told us the food wasn't going to be ready for another hour at least. If you want a curry just go to the taj Mahal, you get your food on time, it's cheaper and much better quality.

My Wife and I called in on a Thursday evening for a 'spur of the moment curry and we were not disappointed. The food was absolutely delicious; Railway Lamb - one of the best curries I've ever had. Service was prompt and cheerful. Would not hesitate recommending to anyone!

The food was incredibly delicious. Sadly, it was shadowed by the service. Even though the staff was apologetic, we had to ask twice for water and once got it, we had to ask twice for glasses. We booked the same day early but got rebooked despite being super hungry. We understood because it was clearly busy. Regardless, when we arrived got quiet but still took a long time for our order to be taken. We were not the only ones as we saw other tables looking frustrated.

I wasn't overly impressed with this place. The food was ok, nothing special. The pilau rice was just plain boiled rice. No spices or anything. They must have been training new staff the evening we visited. This made the atmosphere feel pressured and not very relaxed. Eating out is a rare treat for us and unfortunately this experience just wasn't quite what we hoped for.

Absolutely banging fish and chips. You will struggle to find better anywhere, not just in Bridport. The services was excellent and the staff are really friendly and welcoming. They do takeaway but there is a little dinning area at the side that seats 26 people. And everywhere is spotlessly clean and they have lovely photos of the local area on the walls. Absolutely spot on in every way really. 100% recommend ☆☆☆☆☆

Legitimately might be the nicest fish and chips I've had. Certainly can't remember a better one. Really flaky fish and crispy batter. Delicious! And cheap if I recall correctly.

Probably the best fish and chips in West Bay. Most go to the huts right at the front, missing this absolute gem of a f&c shop. If you're going peak season, expect a lot of people and a long cue, but it's worth the wait. Significantly bigger portions for a lot less money. Lovely, friendly staff.

Absolutely delicious 😋 staff were friendly and work really hard. They get through the orders very quickly as it is a very busy takeaway / restaurant. I didn't eat in, but the seating area looked well presented. Prices were good, although the ketchup was expensive £3 for a small bottle. But needs are a must. They have a good variety of food on the menu. Scampi was amazing 👏

We chose to eat in, with a knife, fork and plate, I know it's at the seaside but.... Anyway, haddock and chips, wow! A huge portion of chips and a sizeable piece of fish. Very crispy batter and very nice, well crooked chips. Very pleased. Highly recommended.

Great fish and chips! Best chippy in West Bay. Good portions and reasonably priced considering location. Harbour a few strides away from shop... perfect setting for perfect chips. Be prepared to queue but it will be worth it.

Food was just about edible, not quite "cold" but barely in the category of "warm". To give some idea, our portion of cheesy chips had the entirety of the grated cheese sitting unmelted on the top. Scampi was a solid 3/10, also tepid. Cod was the crown jewel at about a 4/10. It was somewhat warm, and had a little bit of flavour, but overall quite poor. Quite an embarrassingly bad meal, and surprising that it took 10 minutes to prepare, as clearly none of if was actually cooked to order as we were expecting. Would have complained if we hadn't already left before opening it all up.

A last minute decision to venture out for a birthday meal. We loved "Taco Tuesday"!! Amazing food, great service and lovely cocktails. Even had a complimentary birthday shot of tequila with the owner!! Definitely recommend and will be back for sure! 👍

This was the most incredible taco I've ever had. So simple but so delicious, and such thoughtfully sourced and cooked ingredients. Would 100% make sure to go and get food here if you're in the area. Can't imagine there's anything that'll top this in the whole of Dorset really

Excellent pizza, ciders, and entertainment if your willing to wait! We came on a Friday night without a reservation and waited quite some time for the menu, then the drinks, then... but everything was scrumptious and the entertainment was superb - the guitar/singer duo were so fun and talented.

The short haired girl that served us was really polite and professional, everything was in place for covid, service was perfect! The pizzas were average and the price is fair for the location. The only thing was that on maps the name of the restaurant is "the bridport stable" and we had some issues finding it as they changed the name to "the bull pizzeria" but other than that everything was great.

Really great pizzas on offer, we also had a cider tasting selection which was a great way to sample to locally brewed options! Staff were friendly, prices were very reasonable and the cozy atmosphere really gave us a great meal. Would recommend.

Really good restaurant for pizza. Staff are young, friendly and very helpful, pizzas are tasty and a bit different to other restaurants (bases are crispy and delicious), excellent choice of ciders, and have a good selection of vegan and GF foods.

We went on a Sunday night and it was quite quiet. The staff were both lovely and really helpful with helping us choose which cider to go for. The menu is different and both of the pizzas we had were really good. The brownie was also fantastic. All of the starters sounded great as well. Really nice atmosphere with nice music. Was reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend.

Good menu, various choices. Tasty Mac n cheese, I found the batter of the fish a little overcooked, the fish and chips itself was overall good! Informal and nice atmosphere, very kind and efficient staff. Nice location!

Bottomless Brunch Food was good. Drinks never ran out Nelly the waitress was so friendly and polite. The only thing I felt could have been improved was the bench we was sitting on got a bit wet on the one end due to the rain outside dripping in through the corner of the marquee cover. Other than that we all really enjoyed it. I would definitely go again.

We had the Sunday roast deal with dessert. I had beef brisket, which just melted in the mouth. My husband had the pork, also beautifully cooked. Followed by sticky toffee pudding and biscoff cheesecake which we shared. Although after tasting the cheesecake I didn’t really share too much. It was the best cheesecake I’ve ever tasted! Honestly you have to go there and try it. I would definitely recommend this place.

Called in for drinks last weekend and stopped by again for a late lunch. Lovely setting right on the beach and service was quick and friendly 😊. Had a couple of the small bites and shared a pizza which seemed a little cool for straight from the oven. Took the car home and called back in for drinks to make the most of the evening sun. Shame it’s not busier tbh but it is a weekday and not the height of season. Even though there’s probably no more than six people in and it’s table service no-one came to offer us another drink when we were sat with empty glasses. We were offered another drink when we headed to the bar … I can imagine it’s the place to be in summer 😎

What a delightful place! We were in Bridport for the weekend and had breakfast at the Watch House on Sunday. A lovely welcome at the door, charming and efficient staff, a beautiful interior and it is right on the beach. My husband had the Full English which was delicious and I enjoyed the Eggs Royale which set me up for the rest of the day. It was wonderful and we'll definitely be back. Highly recommended.

Had a lovely meal this evening, all food beautifully cooked. Very attentive and we loved the cider samples which led to some great choices to go with our meals. We had also had coffee and tea cake stop on a long walk this morning which was also perfect. Dog friendly and highly recommended. Thank you 😊

Lovely dog friendly pub which serves fresh food at a reasonable price! Service was wonderful and the place was very cosy, especially nice when visiting when the weather wasn't great! Our dog particularly liked the staff and found comfort in the treats she was given!

Had a fantastic trip to this West Bay restaurant. The food and drinks were lovely, the service was excellent and the prices weren't over the top. The views were stunning and the staff were very polite, prompt and friendly. I would definitely eat there again and definitely recommend to others.

I would award more stars if I could! The vibes of this place are immaculate ✨ we went as a family with four adults and two littles and had the most wonderful meal! Staff were lovely with the children, interacting with them and providing colouring and activities to keep them entertained. The whole restaurant has this lovely relaxed feel whilst delivering some of the most sumptuous food we’ve ever had. All locally sourced produce and a great selection to choose from. We loved it so much we immediately booked to have breakfast for the last day of our trip where I had the pleasure of eating the most delicious bacon sandwich I have ever had (the Dorset Doorstop!) 10/10 do not leave west bay without eating here!

Dog friendly, we were seated but told they needed the table back for a certain time. No one came to take our orders at the table so we assumed you had to go to the bar to order but then we kept getting asked what table we were on - they weren't labelled so we're still unsure whether it was supposed to be table service or not?. We found the food to be pretty average, nothing special

The Restaurant was Brilliant - The Food was Amazing - The Cocktails were Lovely. I had oysters & Fish curry.. Even got to sit in a double deck chair enjoying a wine overlooking the water.

Absolutely incredible pastries. I absolutely LOVE the vegan raspberry croissant and cinnamon bun. Toilets available at the back (disabled). Everything was clean. Staff and service were super quick every time we went in. Great allergy signage and staff that were very aware of cross contamination/equipment.

I stopped here for a coffee the last two days.Not the best service my first day but today the boy who served me was brilliant (he didn’t have a badge to get his name,he was on shift on Easter morning )Very friendly and attentive.We stopped here yesterday evening for a pastry ,best sausage roll but not the best cornish pastry (it looked half baked)

We visit here everytime we are staying in Dorset, the coffee was lovely and they had skimmed milk, which is a plus for me (not a lot of places do). The food is very fresh and the cakes are amazing! Best place in West Bay for coffee and cake. Staff are always very helpful and polite.

We were down near Westbay for a wedding and decided to pop in here before heading home for something nice and filling to eat before a long journey. I tried the beef and Chipotle pasty, which was delicious, and really packed a punch. Then my girlfriend and I shared a rhubarb and custard pasty, which was so sweet and tasty. Every bite had lots of filling and the pastry itself was thick and crumby. Thoroughly enjoyed!

Fabulous breakfast pastries . Sausage rolls , and various fillings in the cornish pasties , I can recommend the chicken tikka one and also the almond croissants, lovey latte too

Second day of holiday, gusting winds, driving rain. We decided to go to Bridport Wednesday market despite the elements. We walked into a cafe and got told abruptly "We're not open" then ignored. With a two fingered gesture to that establishment we walked from one end of town to the other not seeing anywhere inviting. We were about to turn around and go home but decided to walk another 20 yards and there it was. The Green Yard. An absolute hidden gem. It is a cosy little cafe with well spaced seating. Upon entering, the (I assume) owner was inviting and chatty and made you feel welcome straight away. The breakfast we ordered was delicious, well cooked and served in a timely manner. There was a steady flow of regular customers and you could tell the staff there were well liked. Also while we were there, a large party of 10 arrived and they were processed with just as much enthusiasm as we were. On closing in my opinion a very telling factor of a good eatery is the condition of their restrooms and these were basic but clean. We would recommend The Green Yard to any visitors to Bridport but get there before 2pm as they shut at 3pm. P.S. they do baked goods too with some interesting looking nibbles and they are licensed.

Had lunch in the courtyard of this great little find. Food was fantastic, coffee is delicious and just what I wanted, I’m a bit fussy when it comes to coffee but our host took his time to understand and then took the mick! Much to my Mrs delight. We had our 2 little dogs with us, one of which is very nervous around strangers but within 10 mins she was sitting on his lap giving him kisses, she’s a great judge of character. Only had a couple of days so didn’t mange to get back but we will definitely visit again next time we’re in Bridport.

Found by chance when perusing the menu of a more expensive establishment. Inside was too busy for nine of us but in the small yet quaint courtyard we managed to shuffle a few tables together to accommodate our needs. The food was delicious and reasonably priced... the pot of tea was enormous and required a strong arm to lift and pour! The staff were very friendly especially one gentleman in particular who instigated much banter. Would definitely visit again... highly recommended.

I visited here with my husband, 3 year old daughter and our dog in June and I'm so glad we did. Exceptionally welcoming and friendly staff who couldn't do enough for us. The food was lovely and tea brought out in a proper tea pot, not just a tea bag in a mug. I'm disappointed we don't live nearer to this cafe to be able to visit more regularly

We were staying in Bridport for the weekend and checked out reviews for somewhere to go for breakfast. The Green Yard more than lived up to expectations. A warm welcome, lovely friendly staff, great service, wonderful atmosphere and the most delicious food. We both had the Full English and it was yummy. Generous portions and very well priced. We will certainly come back if we're ever down here again. Highly recommended.

Called in for a late breakfast, both inside and the courtyard were busy. One English breakfast and one large one ordered and a couple of juices. Cooked fresh so there was a bit of a wait but I’d rather wait than have food that’s been sat. If I’m being a bit picky the eggs were a bit hard but still tasty and the toast was small and hard. Amazing sausages bacon and black pudding 😀 would go again definitely

Went on a Tuesday lunchtime Amazing. Just amazing. Atmosphere was quiet but peaceful, Staff are lovely and friendly The katsu was more of a fresh flavourful curry sauce but am not complaining at all. Chips were salted and crunchy. The creamy mushrooms had a lovely sauce and the mushrooms were cooked perfectly. The pizzas are incredibly fresh and seemingly made to order. Arguably the best pub pizza I've ever had. Overall, I wish we had something like this closer to home!

Quite honestly, I find most of the cafes in Bridport to be dingy, and over-crowded, and expensive. So it was refreshing to come upon a spotlessly clean spacious well run restaurant (?) and coffee shop with loads of seating, and scrupulously clean toilets, they make a great coffee and the restaurant menu is well balanced to please most tastes. Though at this time I did not sample the menu - and I will another time. Coffee was great and the patisserie were way too tempting! I would say that the back rests on the bench seating need to be a little lower to fit in the small of your back, otherwise they tend to push you forward. But that's a minor gripe, and all the rest of the chairs and tables were well spaced out and comfortable.

We (4 of us) had an acceptable Saturday lunch time meal booked in advance. The meal was quite difficult to book (the online booking system was not being used and I rang 6 times over two days during opening times before anyone answered). My biggest annoyance however was the menu was substantially different (smaller) than the one shown via Google or their website. I would have scored the pub higher apart from this particular issue.

Met an old friend for lunch. They had a sandwich, I had the salmon poke bowl, and it was flipping delicious. Also a much larger portion than I expected. Staff were lovely, attentive and friendly. Highly recommend .

Me and and partner visited on 22/09/21 I don't often feel compelled to write reviews but everything about our visit was absolutely phenomenal. We was greeted by a lovely friendly Waitress who seated us promptly in the perfect spot. Moving on to the food, it was absolutely fantastic I ordered the mac and cheese main and my partner the rump steak. These meals arrived quickly and was presented beautifully. Upon tasting it just got better and better. The steak was cooked to perfection and melted in the mouth and the mac and cheese was the best I have ever had, it also came with home made garlic ciabatta which topped it off nicely. We ordered strawberry pavlova for dessert and might I add we was way to full for pudding but was so impressed we couldn't resist sampling dessert which again, DID NOT DISAPPOINT. honestly this is the best meal out we have had in a long time so much so that we will be visiting again before we travel home from our holiday. As someone that spent many years in hospitality from bar, Waitress and chef I am so thoroughly impressed with the absolutely smashing service from our server to the food and even our drinks. Thank you so very much for a memorable meal. And if you are reading this wondering whether this is the place you want to eat? Well the answer is an absolute yes.

Came here on a recommendation of a family member and I was glad I did! It was a busy day and the staff were clearly rushing all over the place, with our food taking quite a while to arrive. However, our breakfast was fresh, hot and most importantly; extremely tasty! Great quality sausages (a big hit for me) and thick cut bacon. Minor complaint that I received fried bread instead of toast, but it wasn't enough for me to raise it at the time. Nice coffee too! Even had some colouring bits for young kids, which is a nice touch.

What a great find!.. was only passing through West Bay briefly and needed a quick bite to eat!.. I had the Windy Corner Wrap!.. and it was delicious! (And big!)

We had breakfasts, served till 12. I had the veggie option and hubby had the big meat breakfast, his was very good value for money, I think a tenner for a veggie breakfast was a little dear but it was yummy, my only disappointment was that my egg yolk wasn't runny (hubby's wasn't either) do like to mop up a runny yolk. Staff are super friendly and accommodating and it is dog friendly so our fur baby could come and lay by our table which is really important to us, the lunch menu looked yummy and I would defo go back to try the baked potatoes. Lots of veggie options. ☺️

It was windy inside but a hellabullo outside...great cafe with great views. Great menu and service was prompt and with a smile. Our dog loved the attention and the doggie sausage which was a nice touch. Food was well presented and tasty and hit the spot. The cafe has an extension menu and do great breakfast upto midday. Lovely cakes too but we were full from our lunch. Recommend the coated chips with. Cheese and pulled pork...yum 😋

I must say a big thank you to The Windy Corner Cafe staff for being so polite and hard working to make our first ever breakfast with them such a pleasure. The large breakfast that I had was cooked and served to perfection from the kitchen to the table. And also the Pancakes are to die for my daughter loved them. All of the ingredients used at the Windy Corner Cafe are locally sourced the best they can. Thank you again and we will be back very soon. Been visiting westbay for the past four years, each year and had been here last April and on returning this week, went back for the breakfast at windy cafe, which we have always loved.. but unfortunately have felt disappointed. Black pudding removed from large breakfast, price increase or £3 and potato’s undercooked this time. Good coffee but two breakfasts for £30 seems a little too steep even on holiday at seaside town.

Seven us had lunch there today. They had a good variety of food on the menu and the place was clean and welcoming. The food was served after about 10 min after placing the order. Very nice as well

Visited on a Saturday evening, table booked for 7, took half an hour before even our drinks order was taken, another 20 minutes waiting for the drinks, another 60 minutes later and still no starters. No updates or anything, ended up leaving their premises just before 9pm having only had a single drink in just under 2 hours! Seemed to also be prioritising take away orders over dine in customers. Avoid unless you want your evening ruined!

We are locals to this restaurant and over the course of years, have been many times. Sadly, won't be returning. Admittedly, it is holiday season, restaurant was packed. We had a table booked, but we're asked to come back in 30 minutes, which we did. Service was very slow (we made allowances given how busy it was). However, the food, when it came, was so disappointing. Onion bahji tasteless. My balti curry and naan bread were swimming in oil and I could go on, but won't. There is another Indian restaurant in Bridport, just as busy, but the food and service is (in our opinion) far superior.....

First class meal. We’re on holiday and we decided to try a local curry house. We couldn’t go and sit in because of reasons out of our control. So, I had it delivered to the holiday let. The meal was amazing, piping hot and everything was delicious. All delivered by a very polite driver. As good as the one we ‘ave from Berrrminghaaam lol. Well done. 5*+

We are staying in freshwater holiday park and decided to try a local Indian. The woman on the phone was very polite and explained they were busy so I waited a little longer, I'm glad I did. Food was amazing I recommend the lamb chops as a starter and for anyone who likes to try a different beer I also recommend the Bangla bottle. Curry was perfect and so was the sag aloo you can tell they put some love into the food they make. First time I've ordered a jalfrezi and actually got some peppers! Delivery guy was also polite and prompt. I wish you were my local! Do you deliver to Bournemouth? 😂

Quality and delicious food in lovely relaxed surroundings outside on a summers evening, the option to bring your own bottle or two makes this place good value for money. Food is some of the best in the area. We had lamb kofta with an array of mezze. Falafels looked fab too. We were advised the meat was locally sourced within 5 miles. Staff super friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend both for day time coffee/cake/brekky/lunch or on a Friday evening.

A quirky place located in the middle of an industrial site. A little confusing to get to and park but otherwise a good stop off. The menu looked good, I only had a tea with a cake but it was delicious. One star deducted as it's cash only and if you needed the toilet you have to scale a very steep staircase and use the staff one which isn't ideal.

Great place for breakfast, lovely atmosphere and really friendly staff, great option for breakfast in Bridport. Also, away from the busy high street so parking is easy and free. Can then take nice 10 minute walk to the main highstreet or enjoy the second hand antique shops and other shops in this district. Many thanks!

This is one of the hidden gems of Bridport, delicious food, breakfasts to die for and even better cake. You can be a meat eater, gluten free, vegan or a veggie fan, you will find something full of flavours. Their garden is wild and friendly, and the atmosphere of the all place is super relaxed,a must go to!

What a great cafe, Staff friendly, decor on point and the food was not just presented well it was bloody tasty to boot. The Cherries are after much discussion, is in our top two breakfasts ever!. Keep up the good work, fantastic place to eat

Cherries has a great vibe and serves excellent coffee. Their sandwiches, flatbreads and a different take on the Greek salad were noteworthy. Considering the feel of the place one would have expected more vegetarian options in the kids menu.

Situated in the middle of the main car park, access is good and dogs are accepted. A fun place to be for lunch, with tasty food and a welcoming smile. Nice and clean.

We've been visiting West Bay for 12 years, this is the first to Cherries. Bank Holiday weekend, v busy, the staff worked hard, all appeared to work well. We will call again.

This is a fabulous spot. My family and I visit every weekend for a hot drink and a piece of cake, which are always delicious. We also feel welcomed by the lovely staff with every visit and so can't recommend it enough!

Popped in with our daughter in a pushchair, they let us squeeze in at the back. For drinks we had superb coffee and hot chocolate, both with a tasty little choc frogs, and two delicious cakes. The locals were really friendly and warm when engaging with us and our daughter, and the staff were lovely too.

Driven for over an hour just to visit the gallery, café makes it even more worthwhile. Popped in for lunch, staff are great, food is excellent. Fresh crab today was delicious. The gallery is nice to wander around after you've eaten, even though I don't have the money to buy the prints I like, I can pretend 🙂

Just popped in for lunch. We had griddled sarnies (goats cheese, walnut& caramelised onion and croque monsieur), both served with nice salad which were both excellent as was the Americano.

I had a fruit scone to take away. It was very hard and definitely not freshly baked. Check with staff about when the scones were baked before you buy them as they aren't baked fresh daily.

Very bitter over roasted coffee. Even with milk the Americano was vile . We complained - not their problem. We just popped in for a coffee and as we entered the server was returning to the reception area - no greeting, glum expression - we felt unwelcome. Our coffees were extremely not but upon tasting we both immediately found extremely bitter. After complaining we were offered a fresh ‘brew’ but that would not have changed the bean. When we asked if there anything they could do i suggested a refund (£7.00) might be in order but that would not be possible because it was our taste that was the problem.

Had a great evening meal. Compact menu, everything we had was delicious, charming service and a great atmosphere.

An Allan's cave of pleasure. It's not just the homemade food that tickles the senses. Art studio, no fuss frills, just a basic, good place to eat excellent food and take in some beautiful creations.

Always receive a warm and friendly welcome from the very attentive staff. We ordered the Cheese Toastie, that oozed with melted cheese and the New York Deli Toastie packed full of flavour, both were served with a honey glazed side salad, proper salad lettuce, not the usual pile of limp rocket leaves, delicious. On previous occasions we have just had coffee with a good sized slice of scrumptious cake. If you are looking for a good, freshly cooked to order lunch, then Moore than Tea comes Highly recommended 10/10

A family holiday bought us to market day in Bridport (excellent market) & we found this gem of a cafe for a late lunch. We were well looked after, there is something for everyone on the menu, the food portions were so generous & the coffee tasty. We took home some cheesecake & it was incredible. Thoroughly recommend. Came in whilst completing the weldmar elephant trail. Food was delicious, had two savoury scones as part of two cheese platters and a kids sandwich. Food was absolutely delicious, in the words of my 7 year old it was the best sandwich ever. Scones were amazing, perfectly baked and lovely flavours and textures. Cakes looked incredible but no space after the cheese platters!

Love the CAKE...Lemon & Blueberry. Out of Scones, so Cream Tea not available. Dogs not allowed inside, but table outside & weather fine, so enjoyed a cuppa n cake .. lovely! Hubby said Tuna Sandwich & Sausage Roll super duper too. Table water provided, as was Doggy Bowl too. Great service by a young blonde guy, thanks muchly.

We were recommended Moore Than Tea ...and Cake by a friend, so we stopped by to try out some of their home made food. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The service was very good as we decided to eat outside, and our order was brought outside to us. I went for the Custard Cream Cheesecake which was delicious, and liked the fact that it had biscuits added to the top and the sides. I would recommend a visit for a nice snack in the afternoon, if you’ve been walking up some of the coastal walks nearby.

Popped in with my wife last Saturday for a coffee/tea and hoped to buy a couple of cakes. Not particularly welcoming. My wife explained my lactose intolerance - a common thing that happens to many people once they reach about sixty, although affects people of all ages. Basically (and I'm sorry to have to explain it here, but if cafe owners don't understand...) it means that you can't eat anything that contains milk or butter. They seemed to have a good range of cakes, but when we mentioned it they just said, 'we had a vegan cake but it sold out'. I don't have to have Vegan - I can eat eggs - but, anyway, their token choice must be popular so what does that tell you? Because we only settled for drinks they insisted on serving all the customers who ordered food first. The Americans and Italians would laugh at this - a cafe should welcome its customers by bringing drinks straight away. You DO NOT leave your guests sitting at a dry table just because you can't keep up with the modern-day requirement to cater for easy dietary requirements. Perhaps a refresher course for the owners and staff of this establishment would benefit their business, as well as providing a handy tax benefit that, who knows, might even help to bring prices down!

Staff not very friendly, crab sandwich average and certainly not worth £12.50. Didn’t taste too fresh. Had to pay 15p extra to heat up a sausage roll. Never heard of this in my life. Very petty. My panini was horrible, the cheese wasn’t melted properly and the chicken was drier than the Sahara. Needs improvement which is a shame

Popped into Sammi G's with a friend as we were passing through. It was super hot and busy but the staff were lovely. We had two super delicious pasties and cups of tea and later some stunning ice cream. Those pasties haunt my dreams, they are the best I have ever tasted.. on the way back a week later we deliberately made a detour back to Sammy's and had a scummy cream tea and bought lots of pasties to take back. The only reason I have given four stars for service was that the staff were incredibly busy and people were getting impatient. I didn't mind, it was in the shade and that was fine by me. Lovely little place and highly recommend it.

We had 2 nice pasties sat outside. Before leaving i went back to ask if they could fill my dog's water bottle as we were going for a walk but i was refused they said there is a water bowl outside and there was a notice on the counter saying they will not. How very mean totally disgusted!!

The Seville orange ice cream was as good, if not better than any ice cream I have had in Italy (and there have been many!). Clean, contemporary decor inside with outdoor pavement seating also an option. Delicious range of Italian delicacies to purchase at the counter too, and all very reasonably priced. Rather than using the Costa next door, choose an authentic café where homemade products have been made with passion and love.

Rich and Creamy Homemade Ice Cream which warms the heart and brings a smile of contentment:-) I had the wonderful opportunity of trying the Hazelnut, Chocolate, Orange Ripple, Maple and Walnut ice cream. My personal favourite is the Chocolate and Hazelnut ice cream. Will definitely eat again if around the area.

Superb place offering exquisite gelato and sorbet, as well as beautiful scones, pastries, cakes and a good range of lovely Italian foodie products. The gelato and sorbet are made in-house and the owners are super-lovely. Would go again in a shot.

Lovely pub in beautiful location. Staff friendly and helpful. Had a delicious steak pie. Only personal negative for me was a younger waitress trying to clear my plate before my husband had finished eating.

We didn’t stay here - we just had food. Food is fabulous. I had king prawn and chorizo linguine with sticky toffee pudding and custard - the next night I had the cottage pie with mixed vegetables and the orange and chocolate cheese cake - both puddings were big enough to share (should you want to) and I have to say the food tastes fabulous - I would definitely go back there if I am in the area. The outside has bench seating and just inside the door is the dog friendly area. There is a restaurant at the back if you would rather - no dogs allowed. The staff were friendly (not all the dogs were) …. It’s not particularly cheap but you get a good amount and it tastes fabulous…..

I’ve visited The George for many years and always enjoyed my visit. The Palmers Gold is delicious and Ploughman’s is to die for. It’s never been a ‘cheap’ establishment but always offered fair value considering its location. However, I’m now paying £7.50 a pint for Moretti and I’m not comfortable with it. I can buy elsewhere locally for around £6 so £7.50 is helluva jump. I live in an affluent area and often pay premium prices but £7.50??? It’s now the most expensive pub I visit. Looking at the food menu, it’s £20 for a burger and chips, certainly at the higher end. If you want an extra patty it’s £8 extra - wild pricing, never seen anything like it! I know everything is expensive and understand that costs are high. But current prices have taken the shine off for me - sorry

We had the front room with the bay window and the four poster canopy. Very comfortable. A gorgeous view of the bay and the sailboats. The breakfast was superb and the server was so sweet.

We didn't stay in the hotel but went for evening meal TWICE!! If you want really pub food at very reasonable prices this is the place to go. I had chicken and bacon ceasor salad 🥗 😋 , it was divine. So good we went back the next night and I had the same. Highly recommend 👌

Will not set foot inside this unfriendly, dirty place again. Ordered a pint of bitter to be faced with a glass that was filthy . When I complained was asked what my problem was , told “ I presume the landlord “ he abruptly asked what the problem was when I replied that the glass was rotten his reply was well what do you want me to do about, not an apology. Needless to say I got a refund and promptly left

Warm welcoming friendly pub, we went in for a few drinks & sat outside while weather was nice. We also ate in the restaurant where the food was hot, generous helping and so tasty. The waiting staff were so friendly & knowledgeable about the area & surroundings.

I’m sorry the fish batter was too greasy and fell straight off the fish. The nuggets and chips were the last batch and were overdone. The quality of fish was good, but it was the oiliness of the batter which was off putting. The food was piping hot and filled a hole on a very cold day. Polite staff, but maybe re think the pricing considering the quality.

I wouldn’t usually review a fish and chip shop but we had the best large fish and chips ever here! Extremely fresh fish, the batter was so light and crispy - it was delicious. Fresh chips as well and a massive portion. My boyfriend and I shared. We came down from London and will definitely be stopping by for fish and chips again :)

With so much competition in the area it’s hard to choose where to get food from. Luckily we came here and had some great chips and sausages with a side of curry sauce! The food was cooked just right and it only took them a few minutes to be ready. The curry was was extremely nice as well! Staff were friendly and worked through the big queue outside quickly. We would definitely come here next time we’re here!

Had Large Fish & Chips (maybe should have had just regular) and Double Cheeseburger & Chips plenty of food and all cooked well chips were just right and fish was freshly cooked in crispy batter. Wife said burger was really good. Our dog Maddie also enjoyed the large sausage .

Came across this bar whilst checking out Untapped and it looked like it had some interesting beers so we popped in on Thursday and enjoyed it so much we visited again today. The beer selection was great, friendly and informative staff, and a lovely chill vibe with good music playing in the background. And the cheese homity pie was a tasty treat that complemented the drinks.

A real blessing on the high street. Nice atmosphere and a good and changing range of real ales and craft keg. Good wine too. All at a reasonable price.

What a great little place, very large selection of beers and wines. There is limited space inside but they make great use of what they have, there is ample space outside. I tried the sours and a few pales, loved them all. The staff are really nice and the locals are too. Get it on your to do list👌

Always good food, chicken burgers are great, pizzas are also nice. EDIT The last few times the chicken burgers have been rubbery and chewy, the pizzas had soggy bases, it’s a shame as it’s always been such a good standard

Great little place. Just passing through Bridport and had the chicken and chips. The colonel could have cooked it himself!!! Couldn’t believe how reasonable the prices were.

Popped in about 9.30 on Saturday. Didn't know what to have but the chap behind the counter was really helpful, had a meat feast pizza, 6 pieces of chicken and chips. Absolutely first class food and service!

Go here! Open kitchen so you can see all the hustle and bustle, people in and out throughout our meal picking up takeaways, clearly this is loved by locals. The small plates we had for starters were divine and apparently the Massaman curry was the best ever tasted, and my seafood noodles were amazing. Prices really reasonable, food in huge supply so much so we didn't finish everything. Service was a bit choppy at times and the sit down part of the restaurant is not the most comfortable, but to be honest, this is the most authentic Thai we've ever tasted and can't wait to go back next time we visit Bridport.

Food is super authentic and if you like spice they can actually make proper spiced thai food!! The mango sticky rice was such a treat, and the mango was sweet and soft (not hard and sour at all!!) one of the best thai foods in the UK so far! we didn't book and just walked in with 3 people.

Absolutely superb food at excellent prices. We had Thai yellow chicken curry and beef massiman curry to take away. Both were excellent, restaurant quality and served by the lovely staff. We are not local but if we were I wouldn't hesitate to go back again. Eat here. You won't regret it !

We had a delivery from Klin Klan last night and the food was exceptional! The quality was absolutely incredible and authentically Thai. It arrived exactly when we had ordered it for, and the delivery didn't compromise the freshness at all. A brilliant takeaway experience.

Had a takeaway which was very very nice. Bang Bang Chicken was excellent and so was the Duck Tamarind - the meat lovely and tender. We had it delivered for £5 which worked very well. Great food and service - recommended.

I'm local and love treating myself to Klin Klans for special occasions. High quality, delicious food and really nice staff as well. Cute sit down area and a favourite when family comes to town. Yum!

Great local pub with pool table. Music on weekends sometimes as well. Check board outside or just pop in for a pint and ask.

This is a proper old pub. No pretensions. No holiday makers. No frikkin hair cuts or facial hair experiments. No hats or wellies or urban farmer bollix. Excellent food, when they serve it. If not, you can take a hike. Top spot.

Called in after looking up a local pub to visit while staying at a local campsite ..Good beers friendly locals & traditional old style basic pub. Dog friendly. Didn't try food but will call again next year & try their culinary roasts. A good all round pub ..not many left. Cheers

At first, the pub seemed quite old fashioned but nice on our first visit. The landlady seemed quite miserable, though, and the regulars were the sort of people that seemed a bit unused to seeing strangers in their pub. They looked over a lot and mumbled amongst themselves. The highlight of our second visit was a large woman standing at the bar gleefully telling the man standing next to her "she's only getting one!" When my partner was just getting a drink for me and not one for herself. She obviously thought I was out of earshot. Weird all in all, but I'd probably go again even if it's just to make their lives more bit more interesting for a while.

Collected a pizza from here and it was hot and ready when I arrived. Staff seemed a bit preoccupied when I arrived so didn’t get served straight away.

Tried for 2 days to order online and it never takes me to pay now after my card has been accepted. Rang and had phone put down on me as he couldn't understand me and 2nd time I rang after explaining he said cheaper online or its £30 from phone order. I only wanted one of the deals. This place has indoor tables and open plan. Great for eating in as it’s usually a take out. Only downside is they don’t have cups or cutlery so you have to drink from bottles and eat the ice cream with your hands which was fine for my son! Lol Clean and tidy and a quick service. Parking opposite is only 50p and loads of spaces with generous spaced bays.

I ordered my meal to be arrived between 12:15-12:30PM it was delivered 10 minutes earlier than that? Lucky I was home, I also ordered a drink and received completely the wrong one with no awareness what so ever!!! They had more then enough time to try contact me and say they didn’t have my drink but chose not too and this isn’t the first time this has happened😡😡😡

Very poor, the only customer/order and my pizza got left on the oven for over 5 minutes, meaning it was cold. Got a sorry but not good enough when it's that dead quiet. Won't be stopping again. A very poor domino's!!

A nice clean and well presented establishment that has always served me well with delicious piping hot pizza. Very friendly staff with ample parking adjacent to the restaurant. And the online ordering is a real bonus as it really cuts down on any potential delay in receiving your order

Usual traffic on the A35 and fell on this lovely place by chance. Don’t drive past whatever you do. Fresh sandwiches and delicious pastries. We decided to stretch our legs from our campervan and eat on one of the few tables available. Many people ‘grab and go’ staff very friendly and courteous. I resisted the fabulous array of chutneys, soaps etc Refuelled, hydrated and happily on our way to the coast.

Traveling to Cornwall we have stopped in this beautiful shop situated by the road next to a petrol station. It was very easy to park in front and they have tables outside and they are clean. The shop inside is like heaven, all nice and well prepared. The shelves are really full and they have a bit of everything. When we arrived at the coffee shop we really opened our eyes with surprise, everything looked so yummy that we wanted to try all the delicious food exposed. The prices were good but the service was a bit sharp. Self-service is a really good idea but when you arrive at the till it isn't just to pay. Treating a human being it is nice to see a smile or eyes contact or a simple phrase that can make your day. Apart from that it is a very recommended place to go as the product is very good with a super quality and the prices reasonable.

A must stop to pick up something nice and tasty to take home or even to enjoy on your journey! Plenty of different selections from chutney, marmalade, crisps, flours… my favourite “great breads an pastries 🥐 “ Very clean and the staff are very nice

This is a nice little farm shop with a decent selection of locally produced products. The bakery all looks delicious, and if I wasn't being careful about what I eat, I could quite happily consume all of what is on offer here. This ship also has a good selection of beers, veg, and meats. This shop is quite pricey but all the products do look be be very high quality.

What happened to this place?…It used to be the best place for coffee and had cheerful and efficient staff! Today I walked in and was waiting a good 5 mins and had to ask to be served even though there was numerous staff around all chatting to each other! Customers should not have to ask to be served! Then they made coffee for other staff before the customers, were extremely slow, seemingly doing not a lot and proceeded to burn my coffee which then tasted awful! The only saving grace…. Still a Good almond croissant which I think they buy in! Sooo not looking good! I hope they sort it out quickly as they will lose customers otherwise!

Two lovely girls served us this evening - even though they were officially closed (in my rush I hadn’t seen the closed sign). They let us two hungry rowers buy the last pastries and they were DELICIOUS! Thank you so much for saving two starving gig rowers :)

First time fish and chips despite living in Bridport for four years. Delicious. Cod, thick, succulent and crispy batter. Chips were well cooked and crispy. Fried to order so lovely and fresh. I'm fussy when it comes to quality of food, so I was pleasantly surprised given some poorer reviews. Basically, we couldn't fault it.

Rude staff, slow service. Dining room shabby with a strong smell from the kitchens downstairs. Add one star if you're doing takeaway since the dining experience drags things down a bunch. Avoid the fishcakes (cold in the middle) and pasty (microwaved and soggy). The battered fish was edible.

I had fish and chips, a large portion of cod and the chips were tasty. The lady who served us needs to smile more not good customer service skills, other customers did mention this. Won't be visiting again on reading other reviews I can see what they mean.

Gluten free cod and chips at its finest. Crisp batter, tasty chips and gluten free curry sauce as well. A gluten free menu is displayed on their window. Staff very helpful and pleasant. Great value for money.

Staff were pleasant but food was awful. The fish batter was thick and heavy and was like half cooked Yorkshire pudding on the inside. I spoke to staff and they said it was gluten free and that was the only batter they did. I think this policy needs reviewing urgently because we would not go back otherwise.

Service was great but the food was pretty mediocre. I ordered the truffle Mac and cheese and could not taste any truffle or cheese and it was really bland. I ordered a side of chips and they came out in a sugar bowl tasted great but wouldn’t have looked out of place in a dolls house. It was like I was given the scraps of a portion. On the plus side my sons kids meal was well received and the chocolate brownie sundae really good value for money overall However I thought the portions were small and the food was weatherspoons at best. Disappointing after a long day and long drive

Had a wonderful meal there on 12th Oct 17 at lunchtime. We were allowed to bring our small dog in. lovely views & friendly service, the most comfortable chairs in a restaurant I have ever sat on! The fish is superb so fresh & beautifully cooked. You can also just have coffee, which is so fresh & delicious & a lovely selection of sandwiches. My husband had whole Sole & it was large, I had Halibut all superb. They also have wine by 500ml caraffe as well as by the glass, the wine too was very good. I wish we lived nearer, but we will be back!

The food really is as good as everyone says. However, the restaurant lacks a bit of atmosphere despite its great location. Some music in the dining room could do the trick—when I was there during off season, I could hear every word spoken at the other tables.

I have an allergy to seafood, but there was still plenty to choose from. Food is great, service with a smile and beautiful view (helped by a sunny day). Be sure to book in advance, the restaurant is busy at lunch and at dinner.

Fish beautiful. Atmosphere a little quiet but it was a Sunday evening. For some reason there was no music on that may have help in the background. Staff great, very friendly and not rushed.

Terrible fish and chips. Please see the photos. I thought I saw chips being refried but I wasn't sure. When I got them home I knew they were refried. They were soggy. The fish wasn't much better. Batter shouldn't be black in places. The mushy peas were nice though.

Have been coming to bridport for around 10 years now once a year, have eaten in this restaurant a few times before and have had no issues up until today. Today’s service was absolutely shocking. Very unwelcoming staff, and just so rude and disrespectful to my family. The lady at the front was miserable, made a sarcastic comment to her colleague about us not pre booking, even though the restaurant was practically empty with only two tables taken up. I can see why. She asked us if there were any allergies to which we replied yes. Before we could even explain she replied with “We do not have a gluten free menu”. We then attempted to explain that we do not need a gluten free menu, we tried to inform her about the specific allergy requirements we had, but she rudely interrupted us to say “We do not serve anyone with allergies in this restaurant”. This was very upsetting, we struggle as a family to eat out at restaurants due to the allergies, but have never been publicly humiliated and degraded by such rude staff. Despite this, we also have never struggled to find food for our 13 year old sister at a chip shop before. As she can eat chips and many other meats. This is so discriminatory. In this day and age it is just plain right embarrassing and ignorant to turn away paying and respectable customers who just want to enjoy a nice meal. Reading other reviews on this page, it doesn’t seem it would’ve been worth it anyway as many others have commented on your poor food and rude staff. If you want a decent meal and friendly atmosphere, avoid Longs and try somewhere much more accommodating, and friendly such as The Spyway inn pub. Avoid this place at all costs!

The fish was extremely greasy giving a very soggy bottom and lots of oil lying below it on the plates. Service was probably too quick with not enough time for the frying oil to drain before plating. Pity as the place is very clean with good amenities and the service person was friendly and attentive. Unfortunately we won't return due to the food not quite meeting a good standard.

Came in when it was practically empty with my family and got turned away because my younger sister has allergies, the female waitress said “we will not cook for you if she has allergies” and turned us away. it was unbelievably rude and discriminatory. very disappointing, they should hire better and more respectful staff. do better!

This is the second time I have brought my elderly mother in to eat here. The first time we had not booked and the female waitress was so rude. Literally as we entered, she abruptly pointed out that my mother would have to leave her mobility walker by the entrance (before she had even been able to get to the table). She claimed that there wasn't room in the restaurant for this and didn't enquire if it folds up. Bearing in mind, at that point, we were the only people there. I had to explain that she couldn't walk without it and I would fold it up and keep it out the way. The waitress grumbled about how busy she was and had been and we should have booked. We were keen to just eat and leave the horrible atmosphere. We did not feel welcomed at all. Today, we returned and the same thing happened with the same waitress. We had booked this time. On entering again the waitress told us we would have to leave the walker at the entrance. Again, I insisted that my mother needed to keep her walker near her and we would collapse it and keep it out of the way. I'm aghast at this attitude towards people with mobility difficulties and lack of sensitivity and inclusivity. This woman is clearly not happy in her job and Longs needs to address their approach to the disabled. I will never return. I feel sorry for other customers experiencing this passive aggressive waitress and colleagues who have to work with her in this environment.

Honestly the worst place I've been to for food. After ordering on the self service said would be a 10-15 minute wait, thought fair enough! Low and behold almost an hour later our food came out, we ordered 3 all day breakfasts. 1 plate came out missing the eggs, so had to ask for them, hash browns on two plates were burnt and over done, other plate soggy. Mushrooms were both overcooked and undercooked. Place was grubby, tables not cleaned. No knifes, had to wait for some to be cleaned. Will not be back here again, was supposed to be a nice treat before doing the shopping, had to leave the table before everyone had finished to do the food shop as didn't want to get fined for overstaying in the carpark!

Miserable place, staff slow and lacking any kind of motivation. No clean tables all stacked up with dirty plates and cups etc this was because the trolleys where you place your trays were all full. No one taking in the full ones. Very long wait for a dried up luke warm chicken tilka masala and over cooked but still doughy ultimate fish and chips absolute complete waste of money. Beyond disappointed. Can't think of a single positive thing about this miserable experience. Just been pointed out the portion of tikka masala was so small its taken me longer to write the review than to eat it!

Probably the worst breakfast I’ve ever had. It took a while and when it arrived it was so overcooked. Both coffee machines stopped working. Tables empty but un wiped. Won’t be returning.

Had an early start and was absolutely starving so this breakfast was well received. Less good is the sticky tables, charges for ketchup or sauce - it is usually included at most places I go - and the general disorganised nature of this restaurant. They open at 8 but very little was ready, tables sticky and felt like they hadn't been properly wiped down in weeks! I realise I'm old fashioned in thinking customers come first, but this site needs an unannounced audit by Morrisons head office to bring standards up to an acceptable level and remind staff what their job is. Also head office need to review charging extra for Ketchup (it's greedy imo) and also the single use plastic containers the sauce comes in is the best decision.

Food is what you’d expect from a supermarket cafe but it’s very expensive, you can get a much better quality fry up I town for the same price. It is convenient though

Not great . Few missing items from the menu . People complaining to staff , people having to wait for a fork as they had run out . Our chips were burnt . Sausages weren't great and my husband's black pudding was so solid he couldn't slice it .

Worst cooked breakfast I’ve ever had. Everything was overcooked and black. Staff hobbled about with no care for any kind of service or pride over the food they put out, prices would have been ok had the food been okay. Nice that the kids eat free, forgetting the sub par quality. Hot drinks were nice.

We orded 3 thickshakes which were £2.50 each. First off they were tiny coming in a small tea takeaway cup. The straw was also a normal straw and not wide enough to drink it through. Lastly they just tasted horrible and not the flavours they should have, leaving a bitter but also somehow sweet taste? So all in all not worth the money at all. I can't comment on the food though as we ordered it from somewhere else which was very nice.

For a once fantastic kebab shop it has now become a kebab shop my dog wont even eat the food from. My last order was missing half of it and I was spoken to awfully. Thought id give it another go tonight since the staff changed and its even worse. The staff make you feel unwelcome from the second you walk in. The selection of food has dropped down to bog standard basic. And when it came to the staff actually listening and doing their jobs.... they just dont. Order a cheeseburger with ketchup. Watched as they wrote it on the ticket, yet when I finally get home with the food the burger is so stuffed with onions you cant even see the burger. I cant stand uncooked raw onion in a burger and specifically asked for no salad or onion. Took the onion out but the sheer amount had already contaminated the entire burger. So drove all the way back only to see that they had shut. Guarantee i wont get a refund tomorrow either. Since this kebab shop changed owners its just gone so downhill im surprised its still open.

Cash only which is a total pain in 2025. Also the kebab packaging had no tray or box it was only wrapped in paper. It ended up very soggy and had to pick the paper out of the kebab. The actual food itself was ok…

Really delicious Chicken Shish Kebab. Great kitchen on full display, really fresh food, cooked to order exactly how you want it. Highly recommended. We had the Lemon juice instead of sauces, it works really well. Chicken is really tender and moist. It can get busy here, but you don’t have to wait long. It’s worth the 15 minute wait while it cooked in front of you. Please visit here and support this great little business.

Quite expensive here for what you get. Kebab bits just chucked around a ripped up untoasted pitta, doner meat wasn't great and the chicken wings coating was almost inedible. The chaps in the shop were helpful though.

Asked for salad got one tomato on it think they put on half an onion so for £8.50 got about 4pieces of chicken one slice of tomato and half an onion on it when rook of onion was smallest kebab I have ever had

Bog standard food at high end prices, nearly £10 for doner meat and chips, seriously. Burgers are the cheapest Money can buy, chips are nice and the Shish kebabs are really good. Staff are friendly but over all it’s gone down hill in the last 2-3 years Tried them again over Christmas 2024, still terrible food, it’s like they’ve gone out of their way to find the cheapest burgers and cheapest kebab meat they can find yet expect high prices.

If I could give it 6 out of 5 stars. I would. We searched high and low for an out of this world street food van for my wedding and spice and rice was next level good. Easy to communicate with. Turned up on time, delivered an amazing meal for all. Not 1 empty belly. Perfect curry, perfect service. Would highly recommend!!!

We were on a short break with grandchildren. There was nowhere still cooking food at 8 pm. When I rang Rafters and explained they said they would cook even though they were supposed to be closing in 20 minutes. We were welcomed with a smile, and everyone was so friendly. The food was great, as was the service. We were not rushed at all and left about 9.30 pm. The staff went above and beyond. I can't recommend Rafters enough and will definitely go back before we head home in a few days.

This was our first visit to Rafters cafe. I had pulled pork ciabatta with gravy, apple sauce and stuffing it was fantastic. With a strawberry milkshake which is made with Mrs whippy ice cream also amazing. My partner had beef and melted cheese ciabatta and a latte. We swapped and had half and half. They were generous portions so I took half home. We have a puppy and they were very dog friendly even bringing treats and a bed to sit on. Will definitely be going again and would recommend. Very friendly and easy going with great food!

We have travelled from Birmingham for a week stay in Dorset, we were heading to Durdle Door for the afternoon when I found this hidden gem on Google. Whilst driving into the industrial estate, my husband was very skeptical about where I had bought him and the kids for breakfast! The food was so good, it definitely satisfied my craving for a full English. Hubby had Eggs Benedict and my eldest was more than happy with his milkshake so was defo worth a visit! Service is lovely and the staff are really attentive!

Well what can I say we are camping in Bridport and wanted a takeaway , easy to order , great service from the driver on delivery and the food is second to none amazing flavours , the quality of the food was spot on and if you like burgers ,chicken or chips with a twist that’s a step above your normal burger place or fish and chips try them !! You won’t regret it even people on our campsite were asking where we got it from , it was that good!
