My biggest problem is the safety and security. Anyone can drive right in and right to your room. There was a car very slowly rolling through the entire resort at 3 am blasting it's subwoofer so loud it shook all the buildings and so NO ONE got any sleep! Very clean and kept up. All staff are wonderful. All very hard working. BUT, the ownership is clearly stingy and need to address the high prices for all the extras that are supposed to set the place a part from any other hotel. They nickel and dime you for everything! Parking is $47/day! The jet skis are $250/hr! They charge for the coffee! And the room coffee doesn't count because I wouldn't touch that if I was paid to... those pods are toxic. To set you a part from just any hotel there's all the other resort amenities but you way overcharge for them. They should be included for the price of the stay! The only thing good was the service and people. And cleanliness. Very kind. But sadly they work for a very stingy ownership. I just hope they are compensated very well and that you aren't stingy with their pay! The pools were very clean and nice.

This was a really cool resort. It is huge though, so if you have heels on, you might want to take advantage of their golf cart service. The property is quite old, but the rooms are nicely renovated and felt clean. The room service food was amazing!! The AC worked well and was able to keep my room the temperature I wanted. There are many pools and activities. The restaraunts are okay, not blowing my mind which is unfortunate, the fancier restaraunt really did not meet our expectations and was quite expensive. All staff was extremely friendly and helpful! Pickleball courts and equipment were in pretty terrible condition though, the paddles they gave use were not even usable, they were very broken.

Easily the most beautiful setting of any hotel I've ever had the pleasure of staying at - a true tropical oasis. The service was impeccable and especially friendly - warm and welcoming. The beds were luxurious and comfortable. The five pools were stunning. And the activities! They were never-ending. We especially enjoyed the mini golf. If you're looking for a unique way to spend your San Diego getaway, don't pass up Paradise Point. It's central to everything, and yet an entire world away from it all. No other place like it!

I'd suggest that you ccheck on the sliding door in the shower stall - it does not stay put when you slide it all the way to the sides. Also, I'd suggest that you carry more food items, espcially fruits and healthy foods, like a regular convenience store or gas station might have, including milk, cookies, candies, bread, etc. I struggled to find anything meaningful or useful to buy. The prices were too high too. Please be mindful of that. Rest was fine. I appreciate the help with toiletries such toothbrush and toothpaste, the golf cart rides, and the umbrella in the rain on Tuesday, October 14. I checked out the Spa (didn't have the time or means to use it) - the lady was very courteous to show me around and I found the facilities to be impressive. Wish I had the time and money! All employees (concierges, golfcart drivers, receptionists) were fantastic - nice and kind and helpful.

My husband and I had just gotten married and when we checked in, the staff were so lovely and accommodating. We had told them we had just gotten married that day and they gave us a free room upgrade! Very easy, quick check in process. When we arrived to our room, it was spotless and beautiful. Not too long afterward, the staff knocked on our door and gave us a bottle of champagne with glasses AND a hand written card with hand drawn drawings on it of wedding rings and big, bold colorful letters wishing us congratulations and a heartfelt note. It was so very thoughtful and we felt so special! While we only live about a half hour away, we will definitely be staying here again.

I am a local San Diego Wedding Planner and I had the amazing privilege to work with the Paradise Point team to execute a gorgeous wedding earlier this year in May. Our wedding planning team works on the paradise point property pretty frequently and it is always such a pleasure and so seamless! I worked closely with Sydney during the wedding planning process and she was and has continued to be such an incredible asset to the Paradise Point team. She was very hands on and always available for me and my team as well as our couple and their families. She is very detail oriented and always going above and beyond to make sure the event runs smoothly from both a service and guest perspective. Sydney is so genuine and kind and I always look forward to the opportunity to work with her. Paradise Point is a gorgeous property and the staff, specifically the banquet and events teams always work so hard to put on the most gorgeous and thoughtful events!

I came here for a work conference and it completely met my expectations. The conference room was a bit cold but is not usually for these types of medical conferences. The breakfast they served was delicious. I enjoyed both the main pool and the adult only pool. I enjoyed the pool options. My room was perfect and had a back door directly leading to the beach. It is more geared towards families but couples can have a good time here as well. Booking kayaking was easy and the on-site restaurants were delicious. The staff was friendly also.

We came to the Grand Del Mar for our anniversary. The property is beautiful. The pools were nice, the room was lovely and comfortable. We had lovely dining experiences at Amaya with respect to the wait staff and they also brought us drinks and a dessert to celebrate our anniversary. The steak was not, however, worth the price in our opinion. Unfortunately, the overall experience was not quite what we expected from a resort of this caliber. For instance, there was no sunscreen at the pool either day after we were told there would be. The service at the pool was incredibly slow. It took upwards of 40 min to get chips and dip. The second day we were at the pool, there were no cups out at the water dispensers at the pool and the water clearly had not been changed from the day before as it was close to empty. When pool service started at 11, we asked for water right away. We were told they would be coming around with water shortly. I watched the waiter take water to most other people but not us. My husband finally got up and found the pitcher himself after we waited at least 20 minutes. Another strange thing that happened was that someone came to check our minibar around 6 pm in the evening when we were getting ready for dinner. Our room had not been ready until about 4, so it was surprising they needed to get in so soon after to check something. We used spa services the first day we were there and our massages were amazing. The facilities were nice. However, no one told us there was a co-ed relaxation area, so we waited separately before our massages. My husband had to go out and ask for assistance after waiting awhile in the locker area not knowing how anything worked. Overall, we did enjoy our stay. All of these little concerns though would give us pause in a booking a future stay. We have been to other luxury resorts in the area and have experienced better customer service and care elsewhere.

Was amazed at the beauty of the massive grounds of this property. Very green and lush everywhere. Views everywhere of the stunning lawns and open areas. The umbrellas all over the property are stunning ! Loved the bocce ball area and the pickle ball courts and of course the gorgeous golf course that surrounds the 400 acres. Loved our large patio with the fire pit where we enjoyed every evening and morning. The food was lacking, but Del Mar and Solana Beach restaurants are so close, and have sunset views so it wasn’t a big deal to us . Also the rooms are big and comfy but could use an update but they were very clean, bed so comfy and never been in a hotel so quiet in the room at night . We stayed in a Vista Suite and it was super nice with mini kitchen and mini fridge and table to play games or eat. We will be back!

I had high expectations for what was advertised as a 5-star luxury hotel, but what I experienced was anything but luxurious. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this property is not equipped to handle the level of service and hospitality it promises. Staff & Service: The staff across the entire property were incredibly slow and inattentive. From check-in to room service and everywhere in between, we were met with long waits, lack of communication, and a general sense of disorganization. It didn’t feel like a luxury experience – it felt like they were understaffed and overwhelmed. Dining Options: There was only one main restaurant on-site, which is baffling for a resort claiming to be five-star. The menu was extremely limited, uninspired, and repetitive. The kids’ menu was even worse – the same four items were offered everywhere: in the restaurant and by the pool. No variety, no thoughtfulness, just the bare minimum. Event Experience – Wedding Disaster: We were attending a wedding during our stay and were horrified to find the ballroom’s A/C wasn’t working. The room was hot, stuffy, and completely unpleasant. The air quality was so bad that even the staff working the event looked visibly distressed and uncomfortable. It completely ruined what should have been a beautiful celebration. Fire Alarm Incident: As if that wasn’t enough, the fire alarm went off for no apparent reason during our stay. Security evacuated the entire building, which is understandable, but when I explained that my baby was upstairs in our room, they refused to let me go to her. I was forced to wait in a chaotic and stressful situation, not knowing if she was okay. My older daughter suffered a panic/anxiety attack during the ordeal, and there was little to no support or empathy from the staff. Overall Experience: This stay was not just disappointing — it was stressful, chaotic, and unacceptable on so many levels. This hotel is not ready to carry a 5-star label, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing or safe stay. We left more exhausted and distressed than when we arrived. Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ (1 out of 5) Do yourself a favor and book elsewhere.

A Memorable Stay During Our Daughter’s Move-In at UC San Diego My wife, eldest daughter, and I had the pleasure of staying at the Fairmont Grand Del Mar last week while moving our daughter into UC San Diego — and the experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the service was top-notch. A special thank you to Sage, Guest Services Supervisor, who gave us a warm and thoughtful welcome. We also appreciated the professionalism and hospitality of Nenad, Nathan, and Amanda in the executive office — they truly made us feel at home. The accommodations were excellent, and the adult spa pool team provided engaging, attentive service that elevated our relaxation time. It was also a pleasure to meet Swamy, Director of Engineering, who was actively out on the property ensuring everything was running smoothly — a great sign of leadership. And a shoutout to Shea, Food & Beverage Manager, whom I met while enjoying a morning coffee — your passion for hospitality shines through. 2025-10. Hello, we celebrated our Anniversary at the Fairmont Amaya restaurant and we sat outside which was wonderful. The atmosphere and sunny weather was excellent. Our son visited us from LA and treated us to their Sunday Brunch. Unfortunately, the food was not very good. My wife had the Benedict which had crab meat which tasted like it was out of a can, and not very fresh. We also ordered bread and it was burnt black and not eatable. They took it away and brought back bread which was hard and not eatable too. The other dishes were ok but not Fairmont calibre. The service was good, our son liked the smoothie, and the coffee was excellent. Hopefully we can try it again and try other dishes and return it if not satisfied. We probably should have complained when we tasted the food. Hope this review helps.

This hotel is beyond amazing from the style of the hotel and rooms to the staff. The staff were all friendly, helpful and caring. The valet team made sure to make us feel welcomed on arrival and even every day as we went and came back to the hotel. The front desk team were beyond amazing, professional and accommodating. Any issues were taken care of promptly. The hotel exudes elegance and class. The food was tasty and significant in portion. I can honestly say no other hotel is at the level of Fairmont Grand Del Mar- we will be back for sure!

I’m a SD native and came here to listen to jazz. We used to come here to eat back in the day, the hotel is so elegant. The jazz music was wonderful! I also had crab cakes which tasted like they were made with canned crab, but they were ok. The desserts were good and so were the cocktails. The staff are friendly and helpful. We spent a relaxed evening.

Absolutely beautiful hotel with really friendly and helpful staff. We stayed here for four nights whilst in San Diego and loved our stay. The only real room for improvement we found was that the room we were in (1698) could have benefited from some minor TLC as the wallpaper had peeled from the wall in some areas and the shower leaked water (looked like the door was missing a seal at the bottom) HOWEVER these are very minor cosmetic complaints. Lovely night at the Westgate, little staycation for us. We took an uber to Michelin Star Lola 55 and came back to hotel to enjoy the rooftop pool and jacuzzi. There was live music in the lobby, so quaint! Loved the cozy robes, and the darling bartender Brandon made sure we were all set up with buckets of beers before he left. We watched the Dodgers win the World Series from the jacuzzi, such an experience! The other hotel guests were lovely and exited to be there. We enjoyed room service with a view from the 18th floor Premier King room. Loved the decor. Very Parisian! Enjoyed the heated pool and jacuzzi with several lounge area options before out late check out. Valet Sam was darling, you can tell he loves his job! Would stay there again and highly recommend the hotel as a top-not h experience.

Omg completely in love with this place. Came to have a little staycation for our anniversary. We were a little nervous and intimidated coming in but the service was very helpful. We were hungry and went to the restaurant for breakfast. Got greeted by everyone. And when we told our server that it was our anniversary he went out of his way to get us the best picture and told us how to pose and everything. Favorite thing is Gabriel(the server) told us " if you wanna make everyone envious tell them you went to paris for your anniversary. They always buy it .

We recently stayed at The Westgate for Comic-Con. If you're familiar with the process, you basically put your name into the hotel lottery and hope for the best, and I definitely got lucky. It was my first time staying here, and hopefully not the last. Every single staff member I interacted with was warm, personable, and genuinely friendly. From the moment we arrived, the valet made us feel welcome and gave us a helpful lay of the land. Meli at the front desk checked us in and patiently answered all our questions. The hotel has a high-end, old-school charm, like something straight out of Mad Men. Our room was impressively spacious, very clean, and surprisingly quiet given the weekend crowd. I sent out for dry cleaning and it came back quicker than expected. When I called to request it, someone came to my room right away, just another example of how responsive the service was. The restaurant and bar were excellent, even though the main dining area was under renovation. If what we experienced was their temporary setup, then I’m excited to see the final version. The burger and stuffed pancakes were both delicious, and the bar served up well-crafted cocktails. I especially liked the Perfect Martini and the French 75 that I ordered. Location-wise, it was ideal for Comic-Con, walkable to the convention center, and also along the official shuttle route. Valet service was quick and efficient, which made things even easier. Considering the hotel was almost certainly at full capacity, the fact that everything ran so smoothly, and with such a personal touch, was genuinely impressive. I’m hoping I get paired with The Westgate again for a future Comic-Con, but even if not, I’ll definitely be returning for a vacation or weekend getaway.

The Westgate stands out as an oasis of luxury, beauty and old fashioned customer service in the heart of the Gaslamp District of San Diego. All Grand America hotels are unusual in that they prioritize luxury, quality and exceptional service. They must be a great place to work too because staff work there for years. I remember Gabriel from my visit to the Westgate 8 years ago and it was so nice to see him again this visit. The rooftop pool is a great spot to swim and great spot to watch both sunrise and moonrise. Brandon at the rooftop pool bar was welcoming and friendly. The rooftop gym is amazing. We had an all around great San Diego visit thanks to the Westgate.

Cruel, Unprofessional, and Unfit for Hospitality I stay at the Westgate San Diego often for work, and this was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had at a hotel. Three out of four elevators were out of service, and it took me over 15 minutes just to get downstairs. That alone was stressful enough, but the real problem was the front desk staff member (who seemed to be a manager). When I called to ask about the elevators, he answered with pure attitude instead of helping. Then, when I got downstairs to quickly buy an Evian water before heading to the airport, he intentionally dragged out the process. He kept saying things like “I entered my password wrong” or “I clicked the wrong thing,” wasting more and more time even though he already knew I was late because of the elevators. To make it worse, he claimed he couldn’t process my contactless payment until I told him if my card was Visa or Mastercard. That’s simply not true, I’ve paid for water here many times before without being asked that. The whole interaction felt cruel, like he went out of his way to make me miss my flight. Traveling for work is stressful enough. It’s not my fault the elevators were broken, but being treated this way by someone in hospitality is unacceptable. Just because I’m not personally swiping a credit card for the room doesn’t mean I deserve less respect, my employer pays for me to stay here, and we should all be treated as valued guests. This staff member either needs serious customer service training or should not be in that position at all. Hospitality is about helping people, not punishing them. If this is the behavior of a manager, then Westgate San Diego has a serious customer service problem.

Stayed here during my husbands conference. Location gets the most points, being at the marina, beautiful view, amazing sunset. Went for plenty of walks! Food was probably the least as to which I had to drop a star. The breakfast buffet was absolutely not worth 40$ at Marina Kitchen. I asked the host if there were any non buffet breakfast options and she only mentioned the Starbucks. I wish I researched better bc the Exchange Marketplace across from Marina Kitchen DID HAVE BREAKFAST. Partially my fault for not looking harder but I felt like she really played me for a fool when she said that. So I got stuck with a 40$ breakfast buffet that was subpar. The food at Agave located by the pool area was pretty good though! I also dropped a star for amenities, (paying for location mainly IMO) the hotel amenities weren’t great (idk if I’m also comparing to other hotel chains as it has been a while since I stayed at a Marriott) but I really expected robes, even slippers 🥲. - Only 1 side of our bed had a nightstand with an outlet so that was inconvenient. - Wish there were more hooks in the bathroom (who puts their towel on the towel bar IN THE SHOWER??) I didn’t think this place deserved 3/5 stars. Moreso 3.5-4 mainly bc of location. I would hope corporate takes these suggestions into consideration ☺️

Great location with great amenities. A short Uber from the airport. Rooms are spacious. I had a balcony room which was great. Not 100% private so be aware. Pool and gym were excellent. Food was good and priced for what you would expect. Nice add one for Marriott Elite members. Great area of the Marina to walk or bike!

Overpriced usual hotel. It’s not luxury as it stated. Parking is just some spots outside the building, so if you want covered parking-pay for valet parking. Breakfast costs $100 for 2 persons. Seriously? $100 for 4 eggs 2 sausages and cup of coffee? Don’t forget to pay $45 resort fee on the top of overpriced room For NOTHING. No any water inside the room, but it says “free complimentary water”, no ANY water. No wending machines to get some water. Only one wending machine at the lobby level. No free WIFI😆lol. It’s 2025 and this hotel charge people for WiFi. The cheapest motels provide free WiFi, but this scam hotel will charge you for bad quality WiFi. Restaurants have poor menu and overpriced food. Beds mattresses are disaster. Very bad quality for “luxury hotel” that we paid $500 per night. Uneven surfaces of mattresses made my body hurt when I woke up. audibility of walls is very good, and it should not be like that. I don’t have to listen to my neighbors watching tv. Shampoo and conditioner are awful, my hair feels like hay after it. Disgusting smell of shampoo, body wash and conditioner. No any night light in the bathroom, so if you want to use the bathroom at nighttime you will need to turn the bright light in whole bathroom . Super cheap coffee maker in the room, super cheap coffee in the room. I will never stay in Marriott ever again. It was my first and last time I ever stayed there. Disappointed

The highlight is the gym and the resort style pool area. It was a great place for the work conference we attended. Rooms were solid. Slightly older, but solid. Spacious. The vending selection is modern and a nice touch. On-location restaurants and food options were also great.

We really enjoyed our overall stay at this property — the room was comfortable, and the experience inside the hotel was great. However, there are two major issues worth pointing out. First, the windows in our room were very dirty, which made it hard to fully enjoy the view we paid for. Second, and most importantly, the parking experience has been a nightmare. While our car was parked in the hotel’s lot (for which we paid over $100 for two nights), corrosion from the ceiling dripped onto our car. At first, we didn’t realize how serious it was, but after washing the car, the paint peeled off both sides, leaving us with over $1,000 in damage. When I called the hotel, I spoke with Ashley (the operator). Instead of offering any accountability or support, she told me to “contact the owner of the parking lot” — even though this is the Marriott Marquis parking lot. When I pressed for help, she became dismissive, pretended not to hear me, and then hung up on me. This was shocking and extremely unprofessional. I now have to go through my insurance to fix the damage, but I’m very upset that a hotel of this caliber would wash its hands of the problem so quickly. Guests deserve better support and accountability, especially when parking is this expensive.

I thought going into it that the resort fee was a bit expensive but I quickly found out why and took full advantage of it. The rooms are very clean and room keeping comes around often to clean. Our view of the city was lovely. The gym was very well equipped with machines but limited on free weights. The Starbucks in the north tower was very convenient. And oh my gosh the pool!! Absolutely beautiful area with palm trees so pretty it feels like your in paradise. The pool is at a perfect temperature that no one could complain about. There is 2 bars with slightly overpriced mixed drinks and sodas. There were 2 hot tubs, one of them was very hidden so it was almost always empty. There is a gate near the edge of the pool area that leads to a beautiful boardwalk into the shops and seaport village.

For $500 a night, this was really disappointing. There’s no internet in the room even though it clearly says there is on the card. The beds are uncomfortable, the rooms are small with low ceilings, and while the view is great, you have to pay extra for it. The location is great, and the service is good, but that’s about the only highlight. Overall, this felt more like a 2–3 star hotel experience at a luxury price.

We have stayed at this Hyatt many times on our visits to San Diego. Perfect location for a sunny SD stay. Central location for your vacation. Close to restaurants and a nice stroll on the marina and downtown. Close drive to Coronado, the beaches, universities. Etc. Nice rooms. Great customer service. This time we experienced the club level. The buffet breakfast was surprisingly good with fresh food and lots to offer, including proteins and plenty of pastries yes I will. Thank you so much. Have a great day. Decent coffee and excellent service. Staff was constantly refreshing the fruit, eggs etc.

We had a wonderful stay at the Manchester Grand Hyatt during a conference at the convention center. Rooms: Very quiet, well-equipped, and comfortable! We also had a wonderful view from our room. It should be noted that while there are refrigerators in the room, there is not a microwave. Amenities: The fitness center at this hotel is wonderful! Clean, and most all of the weight and cardio equipment you could ask for. Service: We had a wonderful experience with the front desk at check in and check out, cleaning service, and baggage hold. Location: This property is in a wonderful location. It is just minutes from the Convention Center and the waterfront. The trolley and bus stops are also nearby, making it convenient to get to other parts of San Diego. Little Italy is also around a 20 minute walk away - perfect for dinner!

We stayed one night at the Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego while visiting a friend and overall had a very good experience. The hotel is beautiful, with a nice food/bar area, a Starbucks, a great pool, and it’s conveniently located right next to Seaport Village. The highlight for me was the shower—excellent water pressure and perfectly hot. There were two drawbacks. First, our room smelled strongly of cigarette and cigar smoke. Honestly, it was almost a deal breaker, but since it was already 11pm and I was too tired to ask for a different room, I just dealt with it. Thankfully, the smell faded by morning. Second, we didn’t realize until we arrived that parking is not included and costs $55 per day. You could try finding street parking, but that would be frustrating, so we just paid the fee. If you book here, definitely factor that into your budget. Overall, it’s a very nice hotel in a fantastic location. With a fresher room and clearer notice about parking, it would have been excellent.

I just stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and for a Hyatt I was actually disappointed. We had issues at check in where the hotel charged my card 2x over $1800. Then, they charged me for a room upgrade and it honestly wasn’t even worth it. They said I’d get a newer room with a better view. Yes, better view but the room wasn’t that great. The fridge kept leaking, the safe did not work well, the towels had holes in them & some were stained. I will say that any time I called for new towels they did arrive fairly quickly. I put a do not disturb sign on my door and when I stepped out and came back to my room they had cleaned my room. Obviously the do not disturb sign didn’t work. That was very annoying. Upon check out we had issues again with charges and using the parking deck as my flight was later than check out time. The hotel manager offered to waive the late check out fee & give me 40K in Hyatt points for all of the inconvenience. Honestly, he was ok but I will not be returning to this facility.

I will make this a bit short because there would be allot. For what you get the price is great, for what you have to pay for destination fee, it's pretty lame. So, I split a room for 5 nights. Got 1 boat ticket I should get 1 per night. Pool closes at 10 which is ok but I don't want to swim after 10 but I want to sit up there and have fun and enjoy a group of people and yet they close the entire area. The $15 per day for food or drink.. worth it. No free or basic breakfast for the cost. The view is great but the "upgrade" cost per night (which I didn't do) sounded ridiculous. The best part was I came in on Wednesday, left on Monday and flight came early early and for to hotel at 1130 and instead of making me wait till 4 the room was ready and allowed me to check in early for free. Thank you. (So many other benefits or things you are forced to pay for with the destination fee but most are pretty lame.) How about choices, instead of this get free breakfast or Don't take the solo boat ride (again should be able to get more then one when you share a room). Overall I would recommend the place if you are willing to spend more then other hotels in the area

I was so disappointed with this hotel. It’s average. The room is not as clean as I would prefer and the shower doesn’t work great. More water comes out of the bottom then the top shower head. The furniture was pretty banged up and the comforter was literally just wrapped in two sheets - which didn’t give me a clean vibe. The pillows are cheap as well. The elevators are very interesting as well. I would not stay here again.

The special dessert treat waiting for us in the hotel room was a wonderful surprise. Lovely view of the Bay and the most comfortable bed and pillows for a great night sleep. The hotel hospitality from front desk to the bar was above average and genuine. Park the car for $45 self parking per day. We walked everywhere, or took the trolley to Little Italy.

The hotel has a stunning bay view, and the amenities are beautiful and well-maintained. The staff was very friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. However, the housekeeping service could use improvement. Despite requesting early check-in a day in advance, we didn’t get our room until 4:15 PM, which we understand given how busy the hotel was. Unfortunately, the room had a strong cigar smell and lacked a mini fridge. The front desk apologized but didn’t take further action. The next morning, the hair dryer didn’t work, and it took about 30 minutes and three follow-up calls to receive a replacement. Housekeeping also didn’t replenish towels or toilet paper after the room service.

Location is nice - right next to the convention center and a mile walk to the shopping center. It is also easy to get to/from the airport quickly. The walk to the Gas Light district is also short and easy. The room was nice and the bed comfortable. My room also had a view of the bay, which was lovely. They give you cards to exchange for water bottles which is weird but there are refill stations on floors 1-5. The water temperature from the machines was room temperature and the rooms didn't have a mini fridge, so expect that. I ate the the restaurant on the 1st floor pretty much daily and that was nice. The food was tasty and the staff quickly and friendly. The shop next to the restaurant has a good variety of snacks. The shop on the first floor was very expensive (I paid $30 for sunscreen) but has the little items we frequently forget. The pool felt a little small but was overall pleasant. I had no complaints about it besides that I could swim across the pool in 8 strokes, but thats a me issue more than anything. There is also a hot tub and kids play area. The pool bar made good drinks. The view from the pool is quite nice as well.

Location is great and the common spaces of the hotel are really cool. View and space in the room is good. The rooms lack some basic amenities for the price. No mini fridge, water provided but you have to go to the market for them. Bathrooms should be updated and a bit cleaner. Front desk staff just as friendly as necessary not more

Came to San Diego to watch a show at Rady Shell so naturally this hotel was the best choice, specifically because it was walking distance to the venue and also had a shuttle pick up and drop off right in front. I checked in on a Thursday afternoon and they weren't able to get the room any earlier than 3:30 PM since they had a conference going on, but any earlier than standard is still always better. Concierge reached out to me a few days before my stay to give me information about the hotel and their offerings. Shawn R. of the concierge team had the liberty of upgrading my room to a corner unit with a panoramic view of San Diego. I wanted a view of Rady Shell and was pleasantly surprised to also have the view of Petco Park and Gaslamp Quarter. The room itself is pretty similar to a standard Hilton hotel. Nothing that stands out extraordinarily but clean and well-managed. They have a mini refrigerator in the unit along with 2 aluminum water bottles you can refill in the lobby, standard walk-in shower with Crabtree and Evelyn bath products. Since I have Hilton Diamond status, I used my credit at the marketplace rather than their restaurants, but was quite shocked at the steep prices. And when I mean steep, I mean extremely steep. $30 for 2 people does not get you far but we managed a huge Sicilian pizza slice and a king size KitKat and 3 musketeers bar of chocolate. I had the option to check out 1 hour later than standard check out which was very lovely. Overall, if I have another event at Rady Shell I would certainly come back. Also, they have a free service to Coronado and I very much look forward to taking advantage of that next time. (30/50--2025)

Upon arrival received no service at the valet area, no one asked to take the vehicle nor did anyone help with the luggage. Wife had to go inside and ask for a bellman to come and help (Decided to self park). Checked in to find out there was no water bottles in the room, they offered a reusable water bottle you had to pick up from the 1st floor market, making it sound like a sustainability push (Found out later when we went down it’s just a normal water bottle limited to one per visit). Woke up the next morning to have issues with the room key when leaving for the day, we went down to the front desk on our way out and they re-programmed them. Upon our return they didn’t work and we had to go back down and get them adjusted again, went back up only for them not to work, went back down again. This time they said they would send security up to open our room and let us in while they figure out what was wrong. He let us in and tried to work in the door, he came back later to let us know the hotel had in-programmed our doors because they had no credit card on file for incidentals (Card was given to them at check in for exactly this mind you). When I spoke to the receptionist to put a card on file he showed 0 empathy and said they have a note on the room he has no idea how no one saw it. No mini fridge or refrigerator in the room, even though they have a spot for one. (Wife has food allergies so inconvenience not to be able to store food). A/c is set on a motion sensor and takes a long time to cool down, came back in a tuxedo only to start sweating. Minor note, for a Hilton hotel and the price point, surprised to find an old school dual cup drip coffee machine. Also, from the outside you would think it has large glass windows for the rooms, sadly it’s a 5x5 window.

I expected much better from a Hilton. First, my key card wasn't programmed so I had to go back to the lobby for new cards. Then, there were hair shavings left all over the bathroom, carpet and bed. Finally, upon "express" checkout, my credit card was charged for an Urban Destination fee of $145, despite my reservation being prepaid. I had to call customer service several times to get ahold of an agent and get an invoice. Why don't they send an invoice when they charge a card? I was told I was wrong several times over the course of a week before I finally received a refund. Also, nothing in their convenience store is price marked and everything costs 3x more than what you'd expect. I'll stick with budget motels for cleanliness and good service. One star for the nice view.

So the only thing good about this place was the location and the rooms that’s it. First I spoke with a lady named Jordan on the phone and she said as long as I can check in online then I would be able to get a physical key with my ID . But of course it didn’t work out so once i drove two in a half hours to get there i had to give them my card which I told her why I needed to avoid having a card on file … next I spoke to the manager Stephanie she was very rude and spoke to me like a peasant because I was the guest on the Diamond members account what I needed didn’t matter so I ended up still putting a card on file and no even getting compensation for one day of parking which is $50 a day for self parking. Lastly I was in a very expensive and beautiful wedding and the people who worked at the wedding had terrible customer service as well I don’t know if they have anything to do with hilton but I just wanted to add that in.

Pros: The old trees and gardens are lovely. Nice fountains. The Veranda: excellent, if pricey, hotel restaurant. Cons: Location: the hotel is in a suburban residential community. It’s not really close to anything. Rooms: ours had a garden entrance, which meant there were no windows. The room itself was very dark, unless you are willing to sacrifice privacy for natural light. The beds were comfortable, but the rest of the furniture was a bit worn and dated. The bathroom door looked homemade. Buildings: apparently, the owners found 10,000 gallons of beige paint on the cheap, because everything - walls, trim, brick, railings, - everything was slathered with the same color. It had the effect of making the buildings look like poorly maintained apartments. Many suffer from deferred repairs. The Golf Course: much of the available parking during the day is taken up by patrons using the course. If you’re a golfing guest, you might benefit. If not, it’s a pain. Parking: expect to pay 40 a night to self park, 48 for valet. Service: mixed. Restaurant and bar staff were great. The hotel pools were chronically short of towels and on more than one occasion, I had to go ask for them at reception. Despite promises to handle it, they never arrived (or if they did, housekeeping would only bring a few). I once asked housekeeping directly for a refresh, got an eye roll, and was told ‘Five minutes.’ Ok, I get it. Having worked in service myself, I empathize. She deals with annoying and entitled guests all day every day. Despite my best efforts to be polite and respectful, I guess I qualified. Overall, a property overpriced and past its prime. We come to the area regularly to visit family, but I doubt very much we’ll be back.

Another fantastic experience at RBI! We’ve stayed there many times and, without exception, have received excellent service at this historic and charming resort. We only spent two nights there this trip to San Diego, but we had a wonderful time. The rooms are spacious, clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. The grounds are magnificent, and sitting on our patio at dusk gave us a taste of Tuscany. I love the golf course and try to play it every time we visit. As members of Pinehurst CC in North Carolina, I don’t say this lightly, but I could play RBI daily if given the choice. It’s very well-maintained and easy to walk, which I do every time. I can’t wait for our next visit in December!

Had our wedding here at RBI and it was the most perfect experience. Everyone on the team was amazing to work with, food was great, atmosphere was exceptional, and it was a lovely time. We stayed and used the spa, the rooms are clean and nice, and the grounds are gorgeous.

Amazing Hospitality, A Special Thank You to Don and Chase! This is our third time staying at this hotel, and we absolutely love it here! While we're not a big golfing family, the breathtaking views and relaxing atmosphere keep us coming back. During our recent stay, my 5 year old really wanted to ride in a golf cart. I asked Don and Chase about it, and without hesitation, they kindly offered us a golf cart to take around a couple holes and bring back. Their kindness and willingness to go above and beyond truly made my child’s night and mine! Don and Chase showed the kind of genuine hospitality that makes this place feel so special. It’s rare to find staff who go out of their way to create unforgettable moments like that, and we’re incredibly grateful. Overall, the hotel is beautiful, the staff are welcoming, and the experience is always top notch. But it’s people like Don and Chase who make it exceptional. We’ll definitely keep coming back thank you both for making our stay so memorable!

Old school resort that recently updated their rooms... our room (700 building) over looked the Golf course. Service was top notch! We ain't at The veranda restaurant which was okay but nothing great.. I would have preferred to see more handhelds on the menu such as a chicken sandwich, maybe a few wraps.. The second night we went off resort to eat at a great Indian restaurant (firangi) in downtown Escondido.

For the price of the rooms, I was very disappointed. When a hotel says that they are a luxury hotel, I think there should be a certain level of service— this was the absolute opposite when interacting with the Rancho Bernardo Inn. Our room’s AC wasn’t working throughout our stay and I asked the front desk to return a “rent the runway” dress I rented for a wedding and then it didn’t get returned until 5 days later. I had to make several calls to the hotel staff and they were not on top of their error. We were told different things from different people and no accountability was given for all the charges I incurred for their mistake. Additionally, their transparency and follow-up was nonexistent. For over a week after leaving the hotel, I had to continually call and ask for updates from many different staff members, ultimately eating up my trip to California and overall making my stay at their hotel the worst “luxury” investment this year.

We stayed here for AT&T golf tournament, which was amazing. The rooms are very nice and the grounds are spectacular. Outstanding service. We will definitely return!

Came here for a buddy's wedding. The sweets are actually very nice. I have heard from several sources saying that they were outdated, and that they had a funky smell. That funky smell is actually because of the ocean. In fact, I command the facility for keeping the buildings up to date. It is not easy to maintain facilities when it is surrounded with the ocean. The room I had was actually very nice. The order that I had been told about was not that strong. It actually smelled like salt water, which is normal because we are surrounded by large body of salt water. I did not think the furniture was outdated. It was actually very pleasant. My room was up in the tower. The only gripe I have is that a lot of the staff there did not speak English. It was the housekeepers. Now before you get offended, I'd like you to know that I myself a Mexican so I can say whatever the hell I want. I think it is important that people understand the universal language of this country, which is English. I learned English, my family learned English, because everybody here speaks English. I would expect some of the employees to speak English or at least understand it. I dropped the shirt while I was heading to the wedding. I asked a handful of the housekeepers if they had seen my shirt. They looked at me as if though I had just unboarded a spaceship and had just landed on Earth from a different planet. They just gave me this blank stare and then spoke their dialect amongst each other. Unacceptable. Another gripe I have is that the stay was a little too expensive. You got to make it at least $150 cheaper. Other than that though, everything else is cool. I enjoyed my stay overall.

This was my third time coming back to the Catamaran resort hotel, and spa. I absolutely love this place because it borders on Mission Bay and the Ocean is across the street! The hotel staff are just amazing. The rooms are well kept and even though the kitchenette area is older I absolutely love it! I love having the bigger refrigerator and Keurig cup coffee maker, and microwave. Perfect for when we come in a larger group or even when it’s just a couple of us. We really enjoy the restaurant on site with a beautiful views in the fire pits. You can even order an evening with a fire pit on Mission Bay and s’mores! When we stayed, we rode bikes around Mission Bay. These can be rented. There’s also Catamarans, kayaks, etc. What I just learned this time is that they even have boogie boards and chairs to borrow to go over to the beach. Best tropical beach vacation stay and it’s close to so many fun things to do in San Diego!

Very, very nice grounds. Nice view from the tower. Not a real vacation resort, more like a destination for corporate training. But, its more relaxing. Not alot of loud music. The board walk is great place to hang out. Its not lively like a carribean or Mexican resort, but the prices are the same. They have alot of original stuff is still in the rooms from the time it was built. The one restaurant is pretty much to only place to eat. Expensive! Plenty to eat up the street.

We are local San Diegans that chose the Caramaran as a gathering place for my dad's 90th birthday. We had a wonderful time. The grounds are very tropical and well tended. The front desk and staff were both courteous and helpful. And, if you haven't taken a ride on the paddle wheel boat around Mussion Bay, I'd recommend it. Ask at the desk about a ride on the Bahia Belle 👍

Renee in reservations and Joanne at the front desk were awesome and were my first contacts at the resort. The property and tower I stayed in were clean and very comfortable. The views were fantastic and the resort is centrally located near the bay, beach and many restaurants. My stay could not have been better!

My husband and I stayed here for a week with our toddler. We loved it. Very laid back family friendly vibe with many conveniences. The fish, birds, turtles, sandy beach and pool were all hits with my toddler. I enjoyed the convenient coffee shop, bar, restaurant and room service. The food was great all around. The staff was friendly and helpful. The luau was amazing too.

The good... excellent food and service, great amenities and a really beautiful location and view, and the property is very attractive. And the bed was very comfortable. The bad... no grab bar for stepping over the tub side for a shower or bath. Little space beside the sink for toiletries. And worse, a short toilet that filled the bowl high enough that I had to sit on one cheek to keep my dangling bits from dipping in the toilet bowl.

Our stay was great. The pool and hot tubs tubs weren't full (September timeframe).The resort is right on the bay and there are plenty of activities to do. We did kayaking around the bay and it was fun. The resort also has fire pits near the pool which give it a great ambiance for night swims or just chilling after a long day. The food is good and they have a non-dairy dessert option which was great! Overall, I recommend the stay.

Very good experience. Beautiful resort. Recently had an anniversary trip to San Diego. It was very lovely stay. Hotel staff was incredibly friendly and thoughtful. Pool was much larger than anticipated and the hot tubes were comfy. Lounge chairs and service by the pool easy as you could scan a QR code to order. Covewood was delicious stop for breakfast! I recommend chilequiles! There were live music and activities available in the evening such as movies by the pool, live music and smores at the fire place. You could rent bikes and boats located near the bay. Gym was kept clean, tennis courts and pickleball courts were also clean and available. Location was convenient for our day trips, we really didn't have to travel that far. Our longest drive was probably 15 min. I would highly recommend staying at the SD Mission Bay Resort!

We had an amazing stay at San Diego Mission Bay Resort! The location is unbeatable, right on the water with beautiful views and plenty of activities for everyone. The pool area is gorgeous, and we loved relaxing by the fire pits in the evening. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and had that perfect coastal vibe. Every staff member we met was friendly and helpful, making us feel truly welcome. Can’t wait to come back for another getaway!

Our family absolutely loved this resort! There’s so much to do without ever having to leave, from pickleball, paddleboarding and bike rides along the bay to delicious food and live music at night. The kids had a blast at the pool and movie night, while we enjoyed some much-needed relaxation by the water. The property is beautiful, the staff is wonderful, and the atmosphere is so peaceful. It’s become one of our favorite places in San Diego!

Great hotel, close to everything which made it easy to get around and see a lot in a few short days. The walls are thin. And the parking lot was a little rough one night for an event but otherwise we had a nice experience, enjoyed the pool and hot tub and the fitness center.

I really wanted to enjoy my stay here, but unfortunately there were too many issues that made it frustrating. The biggest problem was with our room door with the handle constantly malfunctioning and our key cards rarely worked leaving us locked out multiple times and having to consistently go back to the lobby. On top of that, the TV barely functioned. It was full of glitches and the remote hardly connected, which pretty much made it unusable. Parking was also $45 per night, which feels which feels a bit overpriced given the overall experience. I’m not usually the one to write reviews, but I hope management addresses these problems so future guests can have a smoother experience.

We just returned from a fantastic stay at the San Diego Mission Bay Resort and Spa and couldn’t be more impressed. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, the service and hospitality were truly top notch. A special thank you to Angel, our pool server, who went above and beyond every day. Even when the pool area got really busy, Angel never missed a beat—always attentive, friendly, and full of smiles. He kept things moving with grace and professionalism, and made our poolside experience feel effortless and enjoyable. We also want to recognize Juan and Omar at Covewood Restaurant for the outstanding service they provided to our group of 14. It had been years since our entire family sat around a dinner table together, and they made the evening incredibly special. From handling our large group with ease to making sure everyone felt taken care of, they made that dinner one we won’t forget. The common areas around the resort were immaculate—very clean, fresh, and clearly well maintained. We were greeted with genuine smiles everywhere we went, and it was clear the entire staff takes pride in their work. It really does seem like everyone loves working there, which makes such a difference for the guest experience. Lastly, a quick thank you to the team at the front desk—we arrived late Thursday evening and the woman who checked us in (I wish I had caught her name!) was polite, efficient, and got all of our rooms settled quickly and with care. This resort truly exceeded our expectations. We’ll absolutely be back!

Just stayed here for 4 nights. The location is really fantastic and our room had a wonderful view of a harbor and all the boats coming and going, sea lions, pelicans, etc. Overall though, I would not recommend this place and expect more from Hyatt. The room was dated and smelled musty/moldy. The furniture was beat up. Sofa hadn't been cleaned in years and was gross and cushions completely shot. One of the mattresses was so past useful life that you just slid off one side. Fortunately, they replaced it during our stay, but with another mattress only slightly less bad. Further, we couldn't really keep the patio doors open due to the parade of people smoking outside the room at all hours of the day/night. The pool area is nice but was crowded, and the pools are not really warm enough for San Diego in September. Finally, food/beverage options are poor. Very expensive restaurant we didn't try, no room service. The pool has a restaurant with limited and mediocre options, and a coffee stand is open until 1pm serving Starbucks and lousy sandwiches. Overall, wouldn't recommend.

Perfect place if you plan on going to sea world, we stayed one night room was affordable and we fell in love with the location. We had a king bed with patio and let me just say we will get it again. Perfect if you have kids to get the patio option. Room was clean and smelled nice, only thing we did have to fight off about 2-3 mosquitos that entered from the plants but other than that it was worth it. My husband explored to restraunt right next to the hotel by the waterfront and he said it was beautiful at night giving amazing views and drinks were good. Will definitely come back to explore the pool and spa area.

Wow! Our stay at the Hyatt Regency in Mission Beach was truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make sure every detail was perfect. They genuinely cared that we had an amazing experience, and it really showed. The location is unbeatable, right in the heart of Mission Beach with easy access to everything we wanted to do. But the real surprise was the pool area. I had no idea there was a water slide, and it was so much fun! It added a playful, unexpected touch that made the trip feel even more special. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, the property was beautifully maintained, and everywhere we went, we were greeted with warm smiles. Whether it was dining onsite, lounging by the pool, or just soaking in the views, we felt completely relaxed and cared for. This was far more than just a getaway, it was a true vacation experience. We can’t wait to come back and will be recommending the Hyatt Regency Mission Beach to all our friends and family. 🌊☀️

It's a stunning location with a great place to relax. The hotel offers something every day, either live music, group dance, or a good breakfast buffet. The location is right off the water and leads to either whale watching tours or beautiful sunsets every night. You are also close enough to hear the fireworks from SeaWorld. The hotel shuttle will take you to Old Town or even to SeaWorld!

I recently enjoyed a short stay at the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Resort in San Diego for a regional sales meeting. The staff were attentive and welcoming, the resort was impeccably clean and well-maintained, and the rooms were well-appointed, spacious, and offered lovely views. The bed was comfy and the shower was hot. The fitness center was a bit of a walk, and I would have appreciated morning lobby coffee. The meeting room was adequately sized; however, despite the pleasant outdoor temperature, the room was somewhat warm, and the HVAC system seemed to struggle to maintain a comfortable temperature. Opening the sliding glass doors to improve ventilation unfortunately introduced some distracting noise from the resort grounds. However, the wait staff were exceptional, friendly, and extremely attentive. The breakfast and lunch selections were delicious and offered a delightful variety.

Booked a Marina Suite and ended up in the separate Marina building, away from the main tower. I was hesitant after reading reviews, and unfortunately they were right. We were upgraded to a Veranda Suite, which sounded nice, but the room was dated and in need of real upkeep — scuffed walls, worn furniture, a sagging sofa, and a shower door that only swung one way, stopped by a single screw. The whole building seems to be older with only a cosmetic update that was a while ago and didn't seem to be recent. Coffee machine didn't work well, coffee was terrible. Water with coffee flavor. The veranda view was nice, but being right up to the marina came with mosquitoes and noise. Nothing really felt clean or fresh — dated hotel vibes with nice but worn furniture. I checked out early, didn't stay the second night, and the front desk mentioned waiving an “early departure fee,” which honestly shocked me. That's a real fee? Thank gosh I wasn't charged, but wow, didnt expect hearing that. Definitely not the level of quality or care you expect from a Hyatt property.

I am currently staying at the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa and Marina for a work trip, so I have not been able to take full advantage of all the amenities—but I can easily see why so many people rave about them. The property is beautiful, with stunning marina and bay views, and the location is very convenient to downtown, SeaWorld, and the beach. Even just walking through the grounds and past the pool area with its water slides, you can tell it’s a perfect spot for both relaxation and family fun. As a frequent traveler, I really appreciated the comfort of the rooms, the nice sized balconies, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel. Everything was clean, well-kept, and felt welcoming. My elite status was recognized at check in, and I was given a room on the 11th floor with a great view of the marina and SD skyline. What really made my stay stand out, though, was the exceptional service. Melanie at the front desk went above and beyond—she was warm, professional, and incredibly helpful from the moment I checked in. I had an issue with my parking pass on the way in to the self-parking (which was convenient and plentiful), and she took ownership of the issue and verified that I would not have a similar issue when I was on my way out of the parking lot. Her customer service truly elevated my experience and left a lasting impression. Even though this trip was all business, I left impressed and would be more than happy to return for leisure in the future. Wish I had more than just a couple days. Highly recommend the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa and Marina, whether you’re traveling for work or play.

My sister and I chose this resort to spend time together celebrating our fathers life. He loved San Diego so we figured we would celebrate and say goodbye to him there. When we arrived at the hotel we were told we were being upgraded. First of all there is no elevator in the first building and there was nobody to help us lug our suitcases up to our room. At that time they let us know there is only one restaurant on the resort and no in room dining. We had no car because we felt like it would be fine but the location was not suitable with just one restaurant especially when finding out on Sunday nights they are not even open. Where do you go for dinner?? We did end up renting a car. The pools did have lunch service but it closed at dusk. When we got to our room it was a king bed. I had booked a 2 queen bedroom. When I called downstairs they informed me they were completely booked and could not accommodate a new room with two beds until the next day. We sucked it up and slept together We did not get a new room until late afternoon the next day. The headboard in the new room was leaning so far that I thought it might fall on my at night. It was not bolted into the wall. The bathroom was very disappointing. Small tub(old with staining)/shower combo and one small sink. Not really what I expected for the kind of money we paid. The toilet paper was also one ply , now come on that is crazy. The air conditioner was a wall unit that was super loud and cycled off and on all night. Waking me up often. The view was lovely. The only issue was they did not inform us there would be a wedding on one of days we were there. We had no use of the private beach that day or the firepits in the evening. I would have appreciated a notice of the event, especially because we paid 46.00 a night for a resort fee on top of the parking fee for the car we never intended to rent. The first night we ate dinner at the Vessel Restaurant and it was great. We had a waitress named Marin and she was lovely. The food was amazing!! Now on to the service, the breakfast buffet was ok, same things everyday. Drinks were not part of the breakfast. We had servers that brought coffee and cleared plates. So when the bill came (we had breakfast paid for as part of my credit card package) it covered the cost of the buffet but we were left to pay for the drinks, tip ,and two different surcharges (6% which was fine but the other one as a 20% surcharge for a buffet?? Never seen that in my life.) The service was good the first two days but at the end of our stay they had very few waiters so we waited for water and drinks for around 15 minutes until my sister went to get the bartender for help. Horrible experience. I wonder where all their staff is?? One of our last nights we had dinner again at the Vessel restaurant again poor service. I really do not blame the wait staff it was clearly a staffing issue. I do want to reiterate the food was amazing!! So basically I will not be staying here again and I will be letting my credit card know that this should not be listed as one of their The Edit properties. Definitely not what I expected for my stay.

We had a wonderful stay at Kona Kai! The rooms were spotless, spacious, and beautifully designed, we stayed in both the bay and marina view rooms, and both had incredible views. The beds were super comfortable, and everything felt clean and fresh. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay relaxing and enjoyable. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, helpful, and professional. A special thank you to Scott, the General Manager, who went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for us, truly exceptional service. The resort itself is stunning, the private beach, nightly bonfires, and pool make it feel like a peaceful getaway right in San Diego. We also tried the spa, and the massage was fantastic, one of the best we’ve had. Overall, it was a perfect and peaceful weekend. Highly recommend Kona Kai for anyone looking for a beautiful, comfortable, and relaxing stay!

The location is great with beautiful views but the overall experience was below our expectations for a four star hotel. 1. The buildings are outdated and the sound proof was minimal. We clearly heard the guests talking and walking in the hallway and in the room next to us. It’s more like staying in a motel. Also, the fridge had continuous humming noise, which was very disruptive for light sleepers. We also found a piece of hair on the shower curtain. 2. We firstly requested a baby crib via email before check-in and were told it would be provided based on availability. We arrived early on Day 1 and requested a crib again in person at the front desk. We were told it would be provided once the room is available in the afternoon. When we got the key and entered room, the crib was not ready. We had to request it again and finally a housekeeper brought it.

Where do I even begin? Stephanie is, without question, the most incredible event coordinator anyone could ask for. Over the 2.5 years we worked together, she became so much more than a planner—she truly felt like a best friend who cared about every detail as much as I did. From day one, she went above and beyond to make sure our planning experience was smooth, joyful, and completely stress-free. Every suggestion, every tiny comment we made—she listened, understood, and somehow always managed to make things even better than I imagined. Her ability to improve and elevate every idea was nothing short of magic. She guided us through every stage of the process with such grace and professionalism, all while keeping everything lighthearted and fun. Additionally, she was extremely flexible, working with us on budget concerns, she was responsive, and always reliable. She worked with all of my vendors seamlessly, and without her I don’t think the day would have been as perfect as it was. And the thoughtfulness! Stephanie and Peter (our hotel block coordinator) have such beautiful hearts—they even surprised us with the most meaningful little gifts along the way during our weekend. Those gestures meant the world to me and reminded me just how lucky we were to have them by our side. If you’re looking for someone who will not only plan your wedding flawlessly but also care about you, your story, and your happiness, look no further than Stephanie. She’s pure magic. 💕 As far as the property goes, they were going through pretty significant changes during our wedding weekend so our guests experienced some plumbing and AC issues that were frustrating for some of the pricing. However, the staff was incredibly helpful and kind and I believe all issues were resolved. We can’t wait to return to the property in the future.

Decent hotel located right on the water. It's a large place though, so your room might be pretty far from reception. Staff were helpful 24/7, but several in my party had trouble with key cards not working. The gas "campfires" along the water and the "beach" were a fun touch, but you can't actually go swimming in the water. They do have a nice outdoor pool. Not a lot nearby though and a the place is a good bit away from downtown and the main tourist spots. The free bike service is nice. Seems to be a popular event venue.

stayed here for a few nights recently, and probably won’t stay here again, it wasn’t the worst but also wasn’t the best. why: the pools were not heated, and the one paloma hot tub we tried was nice but only warm, not very hot and some of the jets didn’t work. also seagulls and ducks kept coming up and landing in the pool, so i opted out of swimming in bird poo. also there was never anybody staffed at the paloma pool bar. the room itself was nothing impressive, very basic and kind of dated for the price. no bedbugs, and pretty quiet, and there was one weird stain on the curtains. water pressure in the shower was lacking. overall meh but very overpriced. the rooms do not have microwaves, so i called and requested one two weeks before our arrival date. when we got there, no microwave in the room so i had to ask again and they brought it up to the room. all the staff are very nice, but their pillows are trash and have next to no stuffing in them, so i requested twice for extra pillows, which never came. didn’t bother again after that. the restaurant onsite was on the pricey side, and the food was outstanding, although it did take an hour and a half to get our food on a night that wasn’t super busy. the breakfast buffet was a different story - first of all you are not only charged for it (even when staying in a room), but you are also charged a 30% fee as well as a 10% buffet fee on top of it. the buffet foods were terrible. the pastries seemed like they were a week old, and the waiter was very rude and rushing us, even though we got down there 20 mins after it opened. made no sense. i’ve stayed in worse (for much cheaper) but i was also disappointed. will not be staying here again. and before the owner or manager replies, the room was not booked under my name and no i will not be emailing you because i noticed that other older reviews have mentioned some of the same issues so yall just need to do better. 🤡

The location is beautiful, and the grounds are overall nice. The rooms are dated and the buildings are not well maintained. Although the hotel was not full I was placed in a room that faced a wall. It was so awful I considered leaving. I decided to ask to move and thankfully I did. My new room was much better. But not one person offered to help me move, despite them not being busy at all. Very poor customer service. Maybe good for a family, but definitely not a luxurious hotel. Also be aware that even during the summer months restaurant and bar facilities are extremely limited. I won’t be back.

Hands down one of my favorite hotels. The staff was awesome, area is great, extremely accommodating. We showed up with a new born at 9:45am and this hotel managed to figure out a way to get in out a little early. Staff was super cool even before my 5:00am run! We may go back to San Diego just to stay here. Love it and definitely will be back! Side note. I have stayed at many high end hotels.

Great experience! Situated in a walkable area, and not far from the airport. We enjoyed the stay so much that we want to check out Pendry’s other locations. Room was clean, spacious, comfortable — but what really stood out was how nice the hotel team was.

First class all the way. The rooms have a modern and expensive feel. Nice hard Mattress. The spa is peaceful and lovely, my masseuse Beatrice was outstanding. In all my 57 years it was the best I've ever had. My daughters and I tried their restaurant for dinner and had a yummy meal with really nice servers. They made sure everything I ordered was gluten-free, so many options here. And they take it seriously. Yay! 😊 Great job Pendry, It was my first time here and looking forward to coming back!

I had an amazing stay at The Pendry San Diego! The service team was absolutely phenomenal. A special thank you to Quartz, Ian, Roman, and John S. each of them went above and beyond to make me feel welcomed and appreciated. I chose The Pendry for my stay, and I couldn't be happier with my decision. I highly recommend this hotel for its outstanding service, prime location, delicious food, and overall convenience. Looking forward to my next visit as The Pendry will now be my primary hotel choice when visiting San Diego!

We had a fantastic stay at the Pendry. unfortunately we didn't get to use many of the amenities, but the room was nice, the view was incredible. We turned down a suite upgrade without a view to wait for our 12th floor view room, and we made the right choice: city, bay, Coronado, ocean and Point Loma... all visible from the bed, or even from the full glass shower! We also dined at Lionfish, which was delicious!

Basically the perfect city hotel. Welcomed by very friendly and knowledgeable staff on arrival, and each return. Rooms are nicely finished, with great minibar offerings. Plenty of great food options. Great location.

Disappointing for the price. I was expecting a little more luxury. Rooms were small, bathrooms were tiny, decor could use a refresh (eg. carpets) and the nightclub is closed so it’s not really a hot spot. The pool vibe was decent. I definitely wouldn’t recommend it for the price.

As locals, we decided to celebrate our friend's birthday with a spa day at Estancia Hotel and Spa, and it was the perfect choice! The amenities were excellent — heated lounge chairs, sauna, jacuzzi, and a beautiful pool. The hotel grounds are stunning and so peaceful. Staff were super friendly, and the poolside lunch options were delicious. We treated the birthday girl to a massage, and she absolutely loved it. A wonderful experience all around!

I stayed here expecting a high-end experience, but unfortunately, it was far from impressive for the $400 per night price tag. While the property itself has potential, the room I stayed in didn’t live up to the standard I was hoping for. The bathroom was particularly disappointing — there was mold and it was clear it hadn't been cleaned properly. For a property that's supposed to be high-end, this kind of neglect is completely unacceptable. I’ve attached photos to show just how bad it was. Given the steep price, I expected much better cleanliness and attention to detail. If you’re considering staying here for $400 a night, I would recommend exploring other options that provide better value for your money. There are certainly better choices out there

My husband and I spent the day at Estancia to celebrate his 50th birthday. Allison the Executive Director of Events planned a very special day for him from start to finish. She was equally as excited to welcome us to the hotel us as we were to be welcomed. She is personable, hospitable, professional and thoughtful. From the spa, to the pool cabana to the welcoming cocktail and lunch, each detail did not go unnoticed. She checked in on us throughout the day to make sure we were comfortable and well taken care of. If you are looking for someone that goes the extra mile to plan your special event then I would highly recommend Allison. A true professional with a friendly, welcoming attitude. Thank you, Allison! From the moment we arrived, it was a spa paradise. Marissa the spa director and team were exceptional from the start. Warm, welcoming and attentive. The spa and all its amenities were clean, well maintained and exactly what we were looking for. Ed and Moly were our massage therapists. They were professional and polite and gave my husband and I one of the best massages we have had. I have never laid on a more comfortable massage table like this one. The glass of champagne and house made chocolates were a nice and thoughtful touch. If you are looking for relaxation at its finest then I highly recommend the spa! We also had a blast at the pool bar with Daniel and Ryan. Ryan helped us with a gift card mishap (on our end) and was so nice and patient. Daniel had us laughing from beginning to end and was really fun and easy to talk to! Both were friendly, professional and efficient! Thank you, Estancia and staff! We will definitely be back!

Just came back from an amazing stay at Estancia! We were celebrating our anniversary, and everyone here made sure we felt special all weekend. So much thought was put into giving us the best experience! I want to give a HUGE shout out to the staff at Estancia, who made this stay so incredible. Acacia at the front desk was very welcoming and helpful in answering all of our questions. We spent the afternoon at the spa, where Nathalie made sure we were all set up for a relaxing afternoon. We received wonderful massages from Ronnie and Ed. We ate dinner at Mustangs & Burros. The food and drinks were delicious, and the service was amazing. Our server (didn't catch her name but really wish we had) had great recommendations, and was on top of checking in on us. We received a lovely anniversary dessert at the end of dinner. The next morning we had breakfast at Greenfinch. Another great meal here. Karina was a very attentive server. I can't rave enough about our experience. The service that the staff provided was top tier. We will definitely be back. Highly recommend booking a stay here, especially if you are celebrating!

What a lux experience! Wonderful time! Beautiful place on this planet! We got some amazing hummingbird photos right at the hotel, beautiful plants and flowers everywhere, I guess the love it here too! Would i stay here again? In a heartbeat! No doubt!

Such a beautiful property! Amazing amenities with a large swimming pool and hot tub, along with great live music and yummy food and drinks. If you are an Amex Platinum member, you get 100 dollar credit for the hotel and also 60 dollar credit for breakfast, along with a late check-out.

Pros: beautiful grounds, luscious gardens, serene surroundings. Cons: pretty much everything else. We booked the stay using the Chase Edit program, similar to the Amex Fine hotels and resorts program with slight variation to the benefits. Check-in staff was less than welcoming after a day of traveling. Asked about the resort benefits and was basically told no to everything (room upgrade, late check out). That was fine since we understood it to be based on availability and not guaranteed. Tried to grab a drink at the lobby bar before closing time but was told they had issues with payment but that could be sorted by ordering it through in room dining. In room dining said they can’t do anything since the bar was closed and they can’t source the drinks. That left a really bad taste in our mouth as we felt we were brushed off due their internal mismanagement. They are quick to charge your card but slow to deliver service. If you decide to stay here, do not expect the high level of service they claim to offer. As long as you have low expectations you won’t be disappointed.

We just finished visiting Loews and we thought it was an alright resort. The lobby and location are definitely impressive and very nice! The rooms felt a little outdated and dingy for how much they are. We were visiting for a wedding weekend for context. There is a free shuttle to downtown coronado which will definitely save you at least $15 in uber/lyft to that area so that was very welcome! The pool/hot tubs were great and open late. However, I feel like there should be more amenities for the price (e.g. breakfast included, airport shuttle, parking, etc). Beds were comfy and every room had a balcony! Staff were friendly but could've explained the amenities better when checking in. We discovered most of them through the website. Overall the wedding venue was fantastic and had such pretty views of the ocean/bay area. Since this hotel is on the strand, expect to pay and wait a bit more for an Uber/lyft compared to staying in downtown coronado. We probably wouldn't stay here again unless it was for an event.

We just returned from four days at Loewes Coronado Bay Resort and it was absolutely lovely! Yes, the property is a bit older, but I'll take a one-bedroom, bay view suite for a fraction of what some other resorts in the area cost. The service was really wonderful from the front desk to housekeeping, the pool server, and the lobby bartender. Self-park is pretty pricey especially with the added daily resort fee...plan on an extra $500 in those fees over a four-night stay. The main restaurant is just OK, but we had an excellent burger in the lobby bar and some delicious tacos by the pool. The proximity to the ocean and bay-views make the location really wonderful. I would definitely recommend and would stay again.

Wonderful gem in San Diego - location is idyllic and a refreshing change from other resorts/hotels for those looking to enjoy tranquility and charm of Coronado island. I actually love the fact it's not right in the Hub of town and more remote...and LOEWS provides shuttle service to Coronado town center when you want more Dine/Shop/Activities. Also, you can even use local bus to reach the resort, the journey provides wonderful views as it goes through Coronado and the famous bridge. Gorgeous views of water, Coronado bridge, downtown skyline...the grounds are impeccable with lovely trees/flowers and their own herb garden. Food onsite is very good with excellent views, awesome outdoor deck adjacent to bar. 3 different pool, excellent jacuzzi with strong jets and good gym. Many come here for conferences, I came here for Rest & Relaxation...there is something for everyone. Definitely recommend - have stayed here twice and loved the experience. RICK at Front Desk took excellent care of me and look forward to coming back again soon!

I think as some other visitors this is an average experience for what you pay to be a “luxury hotel”, in a excepcional location!! The rooms are simple ok with Full size beds, not even Queen!! ..the TV was just Cable/local channels and didn't provide the option to log into Netflix.. TV is not Smartv!!. Olease dont take your car to the RESORT, they charge 50dlls a day to park car in basement, I think it should be free because your paying $300 dlls a night and they dont offer parking or continental breakfast service! Everything in resort you have to pay… the only thing free is the pool!! At nights they dont offer free shows like for example someone playing guitar or singing.. it should be a good a idea having some one singing nest to bar at least they would have people consuming drinks… because bar was very alone most of the time!! Im my opinion your paying moren for what you get!! I booked 5 nights and I had to go to Coronado Hotel bar to have fun the last 3 days!!

We normally come down to San Diego for our anniversary weekend and stay at Paradise Point but after 10 years of it and a declining management that was unapologetic for their mishaps we decided to give our 11th anniversary a try with the Loews Coronado and it did not disappoint. Front desk Rick was a complete star and gave us good vibes immediately with a genuine sense of welcome and appreciation for our stay. It was followed by a generous upgrade to a suite and chilled champagne, Chocolate covered strawberries and a handwritten note signed by the Loews family. We will come back and stay at their Villas next time. Yes the resort seems dated but upkeep in our suite was irreproachable. A+++ to the resort management, ownership and entire staff for being so welcoming and joyful.

I came here for a business trip and I was not impressed- I would not consider this a luxury resort by any means.. Rooms were very old and dated, in 2025 you have TVs that you can't cast to? There are very limited dining options within the hotel and the food was fine nothing to rave about. The service truly left something to be desired all around. I truly felt invisible in this hotel and not in a good way. Leaving this review on a good note, the mexican food at the pool was on point! Best part of the hotel!

The rooms are old, outdated, and are randomly stained. There are mold stains under the faucet handles, stains on the curtains; and the bathtub looks like it was installed in the 70s. $55 per night parking + ~$40 daily resort fee + $15!!! per day fast(er) wifi (if you want to watch videos and stuff), and dull lifeless rooms bookend the experience. It is good if you want close access to the beach and good views of the harbor but only if you pony up the added cost for the better view rooms. Not sure why Amex puts this in their premium hotel collection list. Also Not sure if its worth recommending even at the low cost of entry since they anyway tack on shady resort fees, absurd parking fees and fees for decently usable wifi… there are better options but it does have it charm. The location is nice if you like seclusion to a certain extent and there are decent on site dining options that are unfortunately again a little too pricey. This hotel desperately needs a renovation to bring it to modern standards. We were torn between the Pendry and this and I guess if we knew what we know now, we would have go to the Pendry

Went to the Pony Room for dinner. Overall, it was a lovely experience but my chicken was a bit undercooked as were my brussel sprouts. Service was outstanding tho'. My partner loved his burger, said it was the best he's ever had. I 'd eat there again.

Went for a spa day with my husband for our anniversary. Treatments were nice, then went to the pool to relax and have lunch and there were no available chairs. I understand it was a Saturday, but there was no where to sit and have lunch afterwards. After waiting we got in the pool and it was the dirtiest pool I’ve ever been in - in my life. Visible pieces floating everywhere. Like fish food. The resort is beautiful and the service is nice, but the pool freaked me out.

Over an hour to get a simple salad and Burger ordered at the Pony Room. The service waiters came to our table maybe 4 times They didn’t have water for about 20 minutes, so just mediocre at best. Really sucks we were excited to go for our very first time and our experience was not good to us. ;(

We’ve been coming to Rancho Valencia for 20 years and have never once been disappointed. We always stay in the same room—it truly feels like our home away from home. The staff is absolutely amazing—attentive, professional, and always going above and beyond to make our stay perfect. The facilities just keep getting better, now with pickleball and padel courts adding even more fun to our visits. And I have to mention the spa area—it’s one of my favorite places anywhere. Peaceful, beautifully designed, and the perfect way to unwind. Rancho Valencia continues to exceed our expectations every single time.

Had a quick two night getaway with my wife. Loved it. Great food, great service, spa was incredible, beautiful location, and getting to use the resort Bentley was a nice perk. No complaints about anything!

This is a beautiful resort in an excellent location by the bay. The staff are very helpful and courteous. I had a poor experience at a different hotel nearby which I explained to the management team and they made sure I was completely satisfied with my stay and well taken care of. I want to especially recognize Martin and Seth who are part of the management team at the front desk. They were so helpful and compassionate toward my situation. The rest of my stay in San Diego was lovely due to their understanding and patience regarding my situation. I will definitely stay here again. I would recommend the garden view rooms. They are quiet, have easy access to parking in front of the rooms, and are just beautiful.

This was our first time staying at Bahia, and we really enjoyed our stay. We had a nice room on the 4th floor with a view of the bay, close to everything. The grounds were beautiful, flowers and palms everywhere and well maintained. We really enjoyed walking the grounds. It's also easy walking distance to Mission Beach, with all the shops, restaurants and activities there. The vast majority of people are very friendly, not only saying hello, but taking the time to engage in a conversation. We ate at both restaurants, enjoyed our food, service and atmoshphere. The pool area and fitness room are nice, with a huge jacuzzi we enjoyed soaking in. When checking into our room we were told we would get a $50 resort credit each day, which we would lose if we didn't use it. We used it each day at a resort restaurant, but upon checking out were told it was only one $50 for our entire stay. We had called twice to verify the daily credit, so ate on site and didn't appreciate the change at checkout. One other issue we had was with housekkeeping. The sheets were not clean when we checked in, and when we called to get the room serviced the lady on our floor had a real attitude. She did the work we requested, but would not even acknowdledge our presence. My wife is fluent in Spanish, so I don't think it was a language barrier. Jana at the front desk was very understanding, and we appreciated her taking off the daily fee for our trouble. Overall it was a good stay, we're considering returning with our garndkids. There is a very friendly family atmosphere.

Wow, what a little gem of a resort!!! The staff was incredible. They were all friendly, happy to help, and just very genuine. I learned this was a family owned resort and it shows!!! The location is amazing, and there’s plenty to do on property if you don’t feel like leaving. The restaurants were wonderful, pool was relaxing and serene, and the seals were adorable and so fun!!! This is 100% better than any of the chain hotels out there, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

We just celebrated our 50 year vow renewal at the Bahia on the deck of the Bahia Belle. We had a beautiful dinner celebration on the middle floor with the bottom floor of the Belle set up for family fun. Jammie Ritchey was a most wonderful event planner and organizer. She created the most beautiful setting for the entire event, It could not have been more beautiful as she thought of every single detail. From pictures of our wedding and celebration from 50 years ago, she recreated an environment, complete with cake that resembled our wedding cake, to the flowers that resembled our wedding flowers, and any other detail that she could find. She even recreated the old pictures and put them in frames arranged on a table beautifully where we would cut the cake recreating the event and atmosphere. The dinner table was absolutely gorgeous and the food was outstanding. Our servers were fantastic and attentive to detail. Jammie connected with me and our entire family. I believe she was just as excited as all of us were! She operated the music during the vow renewal, and stayed to be sure everything went without a hitch. She made sure my two brothers from out of state were set up and taken care of with fantastic rooms! Thank you for such a wonderful, beautiful, and most memorable event! We love you Jammie!

We stayed at the Bahia for five days with a toddler. This property is an absolute dream for families who are looking to not be surrounded by chaos, but still looking for a refined beach experience. We dined at every restaurant that they have, we enjoy the cabanas by the bay, we rented a paddleboard from action sports on the property, we went for mini walks, we enjoyed the pool and the hot tub, and every single step along the way of service was exceptional, and experience was awesome. As our housekeeper to keep our room tidying, but not flip the room every day for us, and Miriam did a fantastic job. Patrick and Danny ensured our luggage was stored while we waited for our room and Patrick walked us all the way to the door! We stayed in a Bay view room, that had a 180° view of the bay. On the far side of the property, it was quiet, a little bit of a walk to everything, but the walk was beautiful. Highly recommend this property if you have a kiddo, and are looking to spend some quality time together as a family. The staff made everything pretty easy, and we always felt like we were well cared for. If you have small kids, there is a playground on site. There’s also a massive playground just a couple blocks away. Everything is very kid friendly while still maintaining class.

We stayed at the Bahia for the first time earlier this month and had a wonderful experience. The staff were friendly and attentive, the rooms were clean,cozy and comfortable. The location on the bay was absolutely beautiful! The kids loved seeing the seals everyday too! We’ll definitely be returning in the future.

We've lived in SD for 25 years and have stayed all over. When you live here, paying for vacations can be challenging. This was our first time at the Bahia. The location is phenomenal. Walking distance to Mission Beach. Lots of dining options nearby. Beautiful water views. Friendly staff. Great rooms.

Nice place but could be better for the price. You're paying for location, location, location. The beds were kinda low to the ground and there was no microwave. There was a coffee maker and coffee which was nice but don't let it get cold! Parking is valet only at $65 a night. Resort fee is $40, not pre-advertised. Just things you should know if you choose this hotel. Nice place, just not as nice as the price.

This hotel is a little bit dated and doesn’t quite deliver at the price on amenities alone. But the staff at this hotel are among the best I have ever encountered. Everyone was so nice and helpful, really going above and beyond so casually that you can tell it’s baked into the approach at this hotel. Honestly, we were initially underwhelmed at the price but over our three night stay we found more and more to appreciate. Ultimately, the rooms and amenities are just fine, the location is perfect for visiting the city, the hotel restaurants vary from good to spectacular, and the service is tops.

Nice enough hotel (gym better than most), but if you factor in the fees, I don't think it's a great value. I was surprised to get charged an extra $100 (on top of prepaid $600) for 2 nights as a non-optional "All Access" resort fee that provides amenities that I didn't use or want. So be sure to check the fine print before you book. The booking confirmation email from my credit card travel portal, contained the following at the bottom: Fees - Fee for cooked-to-order breakfast: approximately USD 9–40 for adults, and USD 9–40 for children - Valet parking fee: USD 60 per night (in/out privileges) - Refrigerator fee: USD 30 per night - In-room microwave fee: USD 25 per night - Rollaway bed fee: USD 30.0 per night - The nightly All Access Pass is USD 38.0 Plus tax and will be collected upon arrival to the property The above list may not be comprehensive. Comfortable, and has a great atmosphere. The staff are friendly. The rooms are spacious and well-maintained. The only weird part is that Wi-Fi isn’t free — kind of unexpected for such kind of hotel.

I stayed here back in April. I loved it. The room was clean, the beds comfy, we had a nice view of the city. And it is very centric. A train station is right across the street. They have speedy check out by dropping off your room keys in a box. Staff was very friendly and cordial. If I am ever again in San Diego, I will stay here again.

Great rooms. Clean and inviting. Fantastic bed and pillows. Staff very efficient. Nice bars and pool. Venue was at the entrance to the Gas Lamp district and next the Padres stadium.

My husband and I travel often and stay at many hotels, but this was truly the best experience we’ve ever had. I especially want to thank Clinton, who took extra measures to ensure everything was perfect for us. He even came outside to personally help me with the bike rental app — who does that anymore? His kindness and professionalism set the tone for our entire stay. The front desk staff, especially Alex, was exceptional as well— so welcoming and attentive. And at the Blue Wave bar and grill Restaurant, Eugene and Z provided such friendly and thoughtful service that every meal felt special. Plus, the food was incredible! I can’t say enough about how valued I felt as a guest. It truly seemed as though I was their most important customer — though I’m sure everyone is treated with the same care and warmth. A great choice if you want to enjoy this area. Super easy short drive to Little Italy./old town/Coronado and the gas lamp District. This property has a charming old 50's throwback vibe. We had a suite that overlooked the marina harbor with a little balcony. Out front, you could see Navy ships go by along with other boats in the harbor. And there is wonderful options for walking in the mornings along the water and by the boats. Our suite room could've benefited from a small dining room table, and the mattress was definitely on its last legs, but still comfortable. We loved this property mainly based on proximity to everything this part of San Diego has to offer . We also love the retro vibe ! and we will definitely be back.!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Unbelievable Luxury and Service! The Best Hotel in San Diego! I just finished a wonderful two-day stay at the Best Western Plus Island Palms Hotel & Marina, and I truly don't know what the one-, two-, or three-star reviewers are smoking—this place is perfect! This hotel is absolutely ideal for a stress-free family stay. I recently finished a very long, very tiring, and painful stretch of work as a painter, traveling all over La Jolla painting houses. It was so stressful that my manager gave me some time off for a much-needed four-month break, and I used a bit of that time for this trip. This hotel was the perfect escape! From the moment we arrived, the experience was fantastic. The staff was incredibly nice, and checking in and out was easy and fast. Even better, we were stunned to find we had been given a VIP upgraded suite! I never even asked for one, but it was such a pleasant surprise. The room itself was spacious, with luxurious furniture and plenty of room to spread out. It was so nice and relaxing after being on my feet all day at work for months. I spent my downtime enjoying the incredible amount of entertainment—I swear there were 999+ television shows to binge-watch! It was the most stress-free day I’ve had in ages. This is a great location for a quick trip. We're planning to head to the Best Western Seven Seas and SeaWorld next, which is just a short trip up the highway from here. Also, the continental breakfast is a must go too. You should order it. It’s so good it’s so worth it. We had such a fantastic time. (me and my friend from work) We will absolutely be coming back to the Island Palms in the next 8 to 12 months!

We just stayed here one night before flying out. So much nicer than any of the "airport hotels" we've stayed at before. Beautiful views, quiet, clean, and modernized. Coffee in the morning was a nice touch. Parking across the street was free and easy. Just be aware that breakfast is not included, unlike most Best Westerns, but great price for the views!

Beware of the paid parking $25 a night. No need to pay as there is free public parking on the street or just across the street. Beds were super comfortable. Our room didn't have a coffee maker. There was a community coffee machine is in the lobby open from 7-10am. Staff was okay but not too friendly.

Old, very smelly, dirty hotel. Our room was super smelly, we left the door and the window fully open to air it a little which didn't help. We had an empty can of beer on the carpet partially under the bed. Stain on the pillow casing. Sink and shower smelled terrible from sewerage, was full of hairs and grime inside the drainage. Room was small and uncomfortable. The grass trees and marina outside our room was the only nice thing. If you still decide to come, don't pay for parking. Just park across the street, heaps of parking and a lot of cars during the night despite the signs not to leave the cars during dawn. One of the worst hotels of the trip.

We stayed for two nights and the hotel itself is beautiful, very well located. We really enjoyed Shelter Island – it’s calm and relaxing. The complimentary coffee and hot chocolate served in the lobby until 10 A.M. were definitely a nice touch. However, there were some major downsides: the AC was very noisy and didn’t work properly, the bottom of our door was literally open to the outside (we could fit our fingers through it – not very secure!), and since the door had no sealing, we could hear all the outside noise as if we were out there. On top of that, there was an unpleasant sewer smell in the bathroom. It disappeared after we turned off the ventilation on the second day, but that’s really not something you should have to deal with. That being said, we still enjoyed our two nights overall.

The stay was quite wonderful! Upon arrival the front desk team, including valet, was super courteous and helpful! One of the best check-in experiences I’ve ever had. Check in was a breeze and we were upgraded to a bay view room! The property is extremely well cared for and beautiful, especially the interior courtyard with natural plants! Experienced Elevator service issues, but the next elevator was just a short walk away, no big deal. The door to room 194 would not close properly and needed to be closed forcefully, we found this out after sleeping with the door unlocked for one night. Service provided by the Restaurant Staff did not match the desk agents, housekeepers or valet. Our server seemed under trained and under informed. When a sharp plastic chunk was found in my ice cream - the manager said “sorry, it’s a chunk of the container lid, we’ll remove the ice cream and drink from your tab.” But did not acknowledge the cut it caused, nor offer any additional remedies. I’m just Glad it was found in my mouth and not my 3-year old daughter for whom the ice cream was ordered for. The location on Coronado is wonderful and the property amenities are great! Some discrepancies with the Towel dispenser, but the front desk easily resolved. Wonderful walking path close by! If the restaurant team can match the level of service provided by the rest of the staff, this would be a 5-star place! Overall, would highly recommend, but do your self a favor and eat off property.

Always a pleasurable stay with the Marriott! Room was clean with a pretty view, the grounds are also well kept and passing the flamingos and ducks is always nice. Staff was exceptionally polite every single person I cane in contact with gave a genuine smile and greeting! Bartenders were a also friendly and made great drinks! The spa was a wonderfully relaxing experience..Thank you to everyone in staff for a great stay!

Went here for a extended weekend and was able to bring our dog too! This is a unique property right on the water. Our trip included time at the pool, strolls down the boardwalk (easily accessible from the property), and exploring local dining and shopping spots. We had a ground floor room amd it was spacious. 1st floor rooms also have the largest patios. The view was of a pond with a fountain. There is a water feature that runs throughout the hallway areas. Did you see the flamingos in the pics!!?? Really cool. Overall, this is an amazing property and well worth a visit!

The location is picturesque. That's why you stay here. The rooms are dated, but comfortable. the patios in the ground floor are spacious. We had a view of the Coronado bridge, which made it worth it. As part of the resort fee, we "rented" bikes and rode around Coronado, which was nice. Two hours is included, which was plenty of time to explore Coronado. My wife took two fitness classes. We also enjoyed the buffet, which is included with some bonvoy tiers. It was relaxing, but a great (local) getaway.

We had a lovely stay at the Coronado Marriott Resort & Spa. While there was an initial issue with our room, the team handled it professionally, and Heidi V truly went above and beyond to make things right. She even surprised us with a birthday cake for our child, which was such a thoughtful gesture. The location is fantastic, the property is beautiful, and Heidi’s care made a real difference in our experience.

My experience surpassed all expectations. The views and the way everything is perfectly clean was amazing, but the most outstanding was the service: specifically my interaction with Gabriel. He was kind, professional, courteous and so patient with my toddler! Thank you so much!!!

The hotel is clean but a bit outdated. The rooms look like they have been somewhat modernized with great looking bathrooms. The beds are a bit bouncy and all rooms have an outdoor seating area. If you dont pay extra for a bay view your stuck looking at other nearby structures and a pond with flamingos. This is one of those hotels that look better in pictures that real life.

We chose L’Auberge for our anniversary trip. The property itself feels a bit tired (rooms and common spaces could use some refreshing), though the location is undeniably lovely. For our anniversary dinner, we decided to try Adelaide, the on-site restaurant. Unfortunately, it was disappointing. Service from our server was lacking, and the steak we ordered was poorly executed—it tasted like it had been torched to achieve the char we requested, leaving an unpleasant flavor. At the price point, it fell well short of expectations. The side dish that came with it also arrived cold. Overall, the food was just okay and not worth the premium pricing. On the positive side, some of the staff were excellent—Leo and Elyse at the front desk really stood out with their warmth and professionalism. Others, however, could benefit from additional training to elevate the guest experience to match the resort’s reputation. We also encountered some confusion around room rates and resort fees, but Elyse was proactive and helpful in resolving it, which we truly appreciated. In short, beautiful setting and a few standout staff members, but the overall value and dining experience left us underwhelmed.

The rooms were great other than they could have used a little more sound insulation. The temperature controls were great, the shower and sink worked well and the bathroom was well laid out. The bed was comfortable. The patio was reasonably private. The service was awesome, from housekeeping to the front desk to the staff at the bar. An update: my lady lost her diamond necklace in the room but didn't notice until after we left. I called the front desk but action was not prompt and by the time someone went to look, there was another guest in the room. The most likely situation was that housekeeping found it, but as far as I can tell, no one asked the specific housekeeper that cleaned the room about the necklace. Net, I feel that we got lip service about a lost family heirloom.

Both the room & restaurant were super underwhelming for the price. However the staff was good and the location is incredible. But the rooms are akin to what you would find in a best western (small, somewhat outdated) and the food at the restaurant just wasn't worth the price, in fact it was bad. They also require valet in order to park which is an extra $25. If you don't care about those things, and only about location, this is a great spot.

This hotel is beautiful with warm and friendly service from staff, but unfortunately there were a few things that kept our stay from being the restful babymoon that we'd hoped for: 1. The bed was ROCK HARD. My husband prefers a firmer mattress, but even he found the mattress to be very uncomfortable with not enough cushioning. I had terrible sleep while experiencing excruciating hip and back pain each night. Not fun as a pregnant person. I did call the front desk and mention the hard bed, but they were only able to offer a super thin mattress protector that didn't help. 2. The walls are paper thin with poor sound proofing. It didn't help that our room was located directly across from a bridal changing room. We were woken up very early one morning by a group of girls talking, laughing, and playing music. I could so clearly decipher what they were saying that they may as well have been hanging out in our room. We could also hear the wedding party/guests laughing, talking, and running through the hallway at 2 am. 3. There was a false fire alarm that went off on our last night there at around 2:30 am, and we had to evacuate our room. The front staff did waive our resort fee for that day for the inconvenience, which I am appreciative of. This is also something that I understand the hotel couldn't have helped. With everything added up, I unfortunately ended up with dark circles and bags under my eyes at the end of our babymoon.

For our 25th wedding anniversary, I booked a room with a view at this hotel, expecting a special experience to celebrate such a milestone. At over $1,500 for two nights, my expectations were high, but the reality was deeply disappointing. Upon arrival, the front desk staff, Ashlee, assigned us to what felt like the worst room in the hotel. It had a musty, moldy smell and offered a dismal view of another building’s rooftop—far from the scenic view I had paid for. When I raised the issue, Ashlee’s attitude was dismissive and unprofessional. After some back-and-forth, she reluctantly moved us to a better room, but her proud demeanor and condescending eye contact made the interaction uncomfortable. It felt like discrimination, and I couldn’t help but notice the lack of diversity, with barely any Asian guests visible in the hotel. The breakfast was another letdown. The options were limited, and the food was mediocre at best, not matching the caliber one would expect from a hotel charging such rates. Additionally, while the hotel claims to be “close to the beach,” it’s a good 5-minute walk, and there’s no ocean view from the property itself, which was misleading. The noise loud music turned off until 10:45pm and people were taking a loud in the lobby at 6:15am. Overall, this stay fell far short of the luxurious, celebratory experience we hoped for. The poor service, subpar amenities, and misleading claims made our anniversary feel anything but special. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a memorable getaway.

What a beautiful day we had rocking wellness on the Southern Pacific Coast in Del Mar at this resort. We were truly pampered women warriors and started the event with relaxed yoga, ocean breezes, sunshine and support! Everyone greeted us with a smile! Vendors were there with resources and giveaways- we made flower arrangements, crowns, got massages, did crafts and summed it all up with a catered luncheon! The food was delicious and healthy. VIP valet parking, the premises are so well kept, the lounge is comfortable and well laid out for either privacy or a meet & greet. Every room has an ocean view. I will certainly come back next year and make a point to visit in between privately - because this place is divine, indeed! Thanks for hosting all of us women warriors and for supporting all veterans/military and first response! 💝✨🤘

We were at the Legacy for a conference. The room was great! Spacious, new, comfortable. The facility was surprisingly large and varied. There is the hotel proper and then a library, conference areas, and auditorium that features a wonderful media program. We ate at Therese's several times, a breakfast a dinner and snacks. Our solo server took care of our group is about 20 wonderfully on a breakfast day! The Therese's is a nice restaurant, good menu, good food. The latin seems strange at first but turned out to be nicely located, both for our conference AND for our several forays into downtown San Diego. Prices were very competitive!!

I’ve been stationed at Fort Irwin since 2019 and have been coming to this hotel every time I’m in San Diego. It’s been maybe 8 or more times. We’ve loved it every time. The cleanliness and the fresh smell of the entire hotel. It’s always quiet, the staff is always helpful and friendly. The kids love the pool. Even never had a bad experience. Now that we are leaving to be stationed in Texas we are definitely going to miss not only California and Mainly San Diego but this hotel. Thanks for all the fun memories!!

The hotel lobby is clean and looks nice, but my overall experience was disappointing. The front desk staff were not very friendly or helpful. I asked for extra towels twice and never received them. There is no ice machine available, if you want ice, you have to ask for it. The room didn’t have a pen, and there’s no laundry service at the hotel, which was inconvenient. There’s also no microwave in the room, and the TV is outdated. It’s 2025, but they still don’t have smart TVs, so you can’t stream Netflix or other apps. If you want to rent a movie, it costs $16.99, which is very expensive. The towels were rough and felt old they actually irritated my skin. I also had to put the decorative pillow on the floor to sleep comfortably, and the housekeeping staff left it on the floor the next day instead of putting it back. The room itself didn’t feel very clean. Overall, the hotel is just okay, not worth the high price. Also, parking costs $35 per day, which adds up quickly.

From the 5th floor with a balcony! Beautiful rooms, well put together, very clean. Bed is so comfortable with cotton sheets. Highly recommend! Food at Teresa’s steakhouse is tasty too (although we’ve only had breakfast so far).

I had the pleasure of staying at Legacy Resort & Spa while vacationing in sunny San Diego at the end of June. The front staff (specifically Cathy and Theresa) were so accommodating and kind. Although the hotel could use additional support staff to keep things clean as it is a high traffic establishment, the staff overall were some of the most accommodating people I’ve met. The hotel is central to everything and I felt safe while there! I would stay again. Thank you Legacy for a memorable stay.

Updated: I was offered the opportunity to return to the property for a second time and had a much better experience. The beds were super comfortable in this particular room and we had a view of the pool and spa area. The room was clean and service was great every time we encountered someone. Thank you Waneda and staff. I really didn’t want to leave 3 stars but I waited a few days for the manager to call after departure and still nothing. I traveled to San Diego from out of state for a stem cell transplant consultation so rest and relaxation were the goal. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a beautiful hotel, mainly on the surface. The true legacy by the owner is a story worth sharing over and over but the experience left us exhausted from little sleep and really wanting a better customer service experience. Pros… Beautiful construction and design. Soft and welcoming fabrics and materials in the lobby and dining areas. Multiple layers of stone and lighting make it incredibly welcoming. The checkin process was fairly smooth. The restaurant Theresa’s is a true gem, great service, food was excellent and the drinks were strong. The pool and spa area is nicely appointed with super comfortable loungers and cabanas. The grounds are inspiring as you walk through and experience pillars with bible verses on them. I’m a Christian and found it to be very encouraging and uplifting, especially in the midst of what I was there for. Cons…. There’s unfortunately a long list… we made the front desk aware and no one ever came. And again, left this list for the manager (who wasn’t available at check out). Really uncomfortably hard beds. I’ve never slept on something more uncomfortable. The pillows were pretty awesome but didn’t make up for 3 pretty sleepless nights. The AC makes a lot of noise… like a hissing gurgling sound. The phone did not work our entire stay. Mold & mildew build up in the shower tracks and grout. Major filth on the exhaust fan. Clogged sink. Toilet seat not seated properly, kept sliding when you’d sit. The amount of technology throughout can be challenging if you’re older and not used to it. The halls are pretty stuffy with no air flow. Overall I just could not recommend staying here myself. The bed alone was a major bummer and if you can’t sleep comfortably at a hotel, what are you even there for?

I recently stayed at The Legacy Resort Hotel & Spa and had a fantastic experience from start to finish. The hotel is modern, clean, and well-designed — everything feels fresh and thoughtfully put together. The room was spacious, comfortable, and spotless. I loved the large walk-in shower, the plush bedding, and the little touches like the Keurig coffee maker and mini-fridge. It definitely felt more upscale than the price suggests. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, always greeting me with a smile and making sure I had everything I needed. Check-in and check-out were smooth and quick. Definitely going to come back!!

Decent hotel, but would recommend choosing the best room possible. We chose a corner suite with a balcony, but even that room could have been improved. Loud from the train, paint chipping, no chairs for the balcony, etc. They only offer valet parking, however there is cheaper parking directly across the street. Property was clean but downtown is not.

My stay at this hotel was as good of a stay as I’ve had anywhere. The location was perfect for the baseball games, the hotel was clean and very comfortable, but the staff and the service is what sets it apart. I just wanna take a second and recognize a young lady that works at the front desk named Shawna. She is truly one of the good ones left in this world and completely restored my faith in humanity. She’s an amazing employee, and the Omni is very lucky to have her. Thank you to Shawna and the rest of the front desk staff for taking such good care of me.

I really liked this hotel. The room we had (corner with a balcony and bay view) was very clean, updated, overall very nice. Love a hotel that still has ice machines on the floors. The pool area is very nice and modern, with plenty of seating and lounging available while we were there. The price was right, too. Super close to the ballpark and just overall a nice, easy experience. When I initially posted this review I deducted one star for the “dubiously cheeky decision to blast wretched country music in the lobby and parking area on departure morning for Deftones fans leaving after the festival”. But then I remembered that they were very kind and accommodating in adjusting our reservation when our flight was cancelled the day we were scheduled to fly in, so I don’t feel right about deducting for the awful country. But just know that I considered it.

I just want to say THANK YOU to the front desk and security staff at this hotel. My daughter was having a medical emergency and the staff at this hotel made it a priority to save her. I can’t thank you enough for saving my daughter while I was on the other side of the country. Please know, as a mother, this was such a frightening day for me and you gave me the greatest sense of peace to help us in our time of need. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

The room was phenomenal, other than the bathroom, the view was great, the cleaning staff were very nice and helpful, the gym was set up well, as was the pool. The location is everything. So much nearby to walk to in minutes. Unfortunately, the list of experiences I had on the wrong side of the scale outweigh the above. - Check-in didn’t greet me as I came in from a day of flying and they were cold and seemed put out that check-in wasn’t working, literally blaming me instead of just being patient. - I had a cleaning person say they’d come back around 9:45 then just not come by for 2 days, to wake me up at 8:30. - Maintenance told me the shower vent worked despite mold in the tile and the mirror not clearing, then put a tissue up to the vent to show me it was …it wasn’t. Their “fix” didn’t resolve the venting, nor the shower “jittering” and making a sound like it was going to fall apart when I used hot water. Several showers were just room temp to quickly cold. The showers are also lined with older liners which was unexpected given the rest of the hotel. - Valet gave me a look like I was from another planet when I just asked the nearest person about recycling a bottle - Front desk during the day had one kind man and one woman that were pleasant and helpful to at least give a resource if not a solution. - A different front desk person said they’d send water up and it just never came. I heard similar from other guests. - Had a package arrive and no one let me know that it had. Calling after I was out of state, they didn’t have any notes or contact despite a picture on Amazon. I kept trying and reached someone associated with Omni and UPS that would respond in single word answers and kept asking what I wanted despite having a callback from them about the situation. I can totally understand if the sheer volume of baseball guests tends to dull an otherwise outgoing helpful culture, but this wasn’t even a miss here and there, I literally felt like I’d created an issue by trying to have a reasonably comfortable stay. The Hilton locations and more specialty hotels in the gaslamp will be my choice next time.

Don't use their valet. We stayed at the Omni Hotel in San Diego in September 2025 and used their valet service, operated by ACE Parking. During our stay, I discovered that my car had been driven nearly 40 unauthorized miles while in their care. When I dropped off my car on September 14, I photographed the dashboard showing the mileage with the hotel visible in the background. When I picked it up two days later, the odometer showed almost 40 additional miles, and the interior had been disturbed. Items from the back seat were shoved under the front seat, and the car's alignment was noticeably off, pulling to the right. I reported this to management immediately and followed up several times, but the response was slow, evasive, and dismissive. Both the hotel and ACE Valet continued to give me the runaround instead of acknowledging or properly investigating what happened. They claim to have reviewed camera footage, but when I requested documentation and proof, nothing was provided. This experience completely undermined my trust in this property and its valet partner. If you care about your vehicle, I strongly recommend avoiding this hotel's valet service, or the hotel itself, until they take responsibility for how guests' cars are treated.

The hotel is in a perfect spot,close to everything,even have a private catwalk to the stadium on the 4th floor. Beds could be softer but other than that really like the new pool/ Tiki bar area

Solid Marriott property. Very good staff. Nice lobby. Excellent restaurant and bar on site. Rooms were a bit tired and could use an upgrade. However, very clean and comfortable. Good Gaslamp location. Overall a decent stay.

I stayed at the Westin Gaslamp because the conference hotel was booked, and it was only about a half mile away. It turned out to be the best possible outcome. Every staff member, from housekeeping all the way up to the general manager, was consistently on point. Open, kind, and genuinely accommodating. What stood out to me was the consistency. Over the week I stayed there, not once did I see anyone acting like they were having “one of those days.” No projecting frustrations. No attitude. Just people who clearly take pride in how they show up for guests. They offered great tips on what to do in my downtime, and when I needed a quiet space to repack my bags after checkout, they didn’t hesitate to find me a place. They didn’t have to do that, but they did. And the food, honestly, was so good that more than half my meals ended up being at the hotel. That wasn’t the plan going in, but it became the reality pretty quickly. If we’re ever back in San Diego, I already know exactly where I’ll be staying.

My husband and I stayed at the Westin San Diego for our anniversary, and overall our experience was wonderful. Special thanks to Zozima (SD local and front desk) , Julianna at concierge, Brandon, and the café staff, all of whom went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Zozima provided excellent food & activity recommendations. The check-in process was smooth, and switching rooms was handled seamlessly. Unfortunately, we did have some less pleasant experiences. On 9/27, while seeking assistance at the concierge desk, Suzanne looked directly at us but refused to acknowledge or assist. Only when I said “excuse me” did Julianna step in with warmth and professionalism, while Suzanne continued to ignore us. Later, when I tried to revisit the encounter with Suzanne, she admitted seeing us but remained dismissive and unaware of how her actions impacted our experience. We also experienced repeated TV issues (screen glitching/freezing). The first time, engineering resolved it quickly, but when it happened again that evening, the concierge seemed rude and inconvenienced. This time, no engineer showed up and there was no follow-up. Overall: We enjoyed our stay thanks to the excellent staff members who truly cared, but lapses in service particularly at concierge kept the experience from being flawless.Location was perfect!

Blown away by the customer service at this hotel…such a rare find these days! Everyone from front desk, to housekeeping, to the concierge, to the restaurant was so kind and helpful - clearly it’s a priority at this location. And the restaurant was truly EXCELLENT for breakfast, lunch and dinner! We are Titanium so got free breakfast buffet all 4 mornings (I will miss it!), 2 free drinks at the bar each day, free waters in our room, a miscellaneous food coupon each day, and a free harbor cruise that we used on a Sunday and really enjoyed. You can’t really see the water from the hotel, but you can be at the bay front in a 10-15 min walk or a short Uber ride. I left my favorite sunglasses at the pool one evening, and with no expectations went to the front desk the next morning to see if they were found. They made a couple calls and found them wrapped up with the date and time they were found!! Also great service by the concierge when I inquired about Coronado Island - she was spot on. Excellent workout room and pool area (not every Marriott in downtown San Diego has an outdoor pool) that I thoroughly enjoyed. And they honor Marriott status. Would totally return here!

We were so excited to stay here for our 1 year anniversary. Unfortunately, due to the government shut down we were unable to make our stay. Since this was booked through a 3rd party we tried for days to get this resolved with the hotel and the 3rd party. While the 3rd party was more than willing to assist us. The manager, Laura, refused to assist. What was going to be a wonderful 1 year celebration has turned into a NIGHTMARE. Going forward we will chose to stay at ANY hotel except for a Westin or any Marriott for that matter. The rudeness and unhelpfulness we experienced during this transition was appalling. We even tried getting contact information for a supervisor and were informed there would not be one available and we could not have their contact information. If you want to have a good experience, stay ANYWHERE but here!

Stayed here for a conference. Good location and only a short walk to the conference centre. There is a supermarket close by and a number of casual restaurants and coffee shops. Rooms are clean and spacious which I enjoyed. Only thing I really disliked is the resort fee which is a hidden tax and hard to get value out of.

2ND UPDATE: After this review went up they moved quickly to resolve the issue and pay for the repairs. It's frustrating that it took so long and for me to post and honest negative review for them to finally take quick action. I appreciate them resoling it quickly at that point but it was already too late. I maintain everything I post was completely honest but eventually they did resolve the issues with the car. UPDATE: They responded to the review and gave me an email address to reach out to them for help with a resolution - the kickier - the person at that email address is "out of the office for an extended period of time". Ooof just another example of the poor service here. Headlines: Valet crashed my car and now 2 months later haven't paid for the repair. Room not ready at check-in. When we did get room it smelled of cigarette smoke and had dirty sheets. Recently we had a really disappointing stay at the Westin Gaslamp. We've been coming to this hotel once a year for the past 4 years and this was by far the worst experience we've had at this hotel, or any hotel. It started when we showed up after check-in time and there were no rooms ready for us. We were going to a baseball game so we stored our luggage with the bellhop. When we got back from the game, late at night with our kid, our room was ready but when we got into it the room smelled strongly of cigarettes. We complained to the front desk but they said the hotel was full and they couldn't change our room. Then we I got into bed I noticed dirty marks on the white sheets. Gross. BUT THE WORST PART - when I got my car back in the morning the had smashed my side view mirror into a pillar in the parking lot. They brought the car out and admitted to it right away and apologized (mind you, the car was 3 days old!) but I was pissed. So then they say they will pay to have it fixed but it's now been 2 months and they still haven't taken care of it. I've been following up weekly and they either don't respond or take a long time to respond and I'm left waiting for them to pay for it. Extremely frustrating. I will not be staying in this hotel next year for our annual San Diego trip. Be warned!

The front desk team was really friendly and welcoming, which we appreciated—but unfortunately, that’s where the positives ended. For how expensive this hotel is, our experience was seriously disappointing. While we were out for the day, a large amount of cash was stolen from our bag. The only people with access to the room during that time were housekeeping, which makes it pretty clear where this may have happened. What’s worse is that after looking through other reviews, it’s clear this isn’t the first time something like this has happened at this hotel. That’s incredibly unsettling. We reported it right away and were told the manager would be calling us—yet no one ever followed up. That kind of response (or lack of one) just adds to the frustration and leaves you feeling completely unheard and unprotected as a guest. We travel often and always try to give places the benefit of the doubt, but this felt like a huge violation of trust. You should be able to leave your belongings behind in your hotel room without worrying about them being stolen. Sadly, we won’t be staying here again and I’ll definitely be warning friends and family about this place. It’s just not worth the risk.

Great place! The staff are so friendly, helpful, and warm. Marianna was great:) Made us feel welcome, answered all of our questions, and made the stay wonderful. Rooms are very nice, particularly at the reasonable price. But, the service makes this place feel high end!

I enjoyed a lovely stay at the Sofia Hotel. I was in San Diego for a work trip. The location was convenient to our office, many downtown amenities, and the Padres stadium. Their service was spectacular. They got me checked in early, my sink was clogged and they fixed it, they changed out our sheets and replenished towels and coffee, and provided complementary late check out. All of their staff said hi when you walked by them. Their gym got the job done. The rooms were comfy and the water pressure and showers were great. The rooms were very tidy and clean. They had a reasonable rate. I highly recommend and will come back for my next business trip.

After having a bad experience in Escondido CA at best western hotel. my wife and I arrived to Sofia hotel in San Diego. Approached the front desk. We were greeted with a beautiful welcoming smile. We arrived in the morning. She had a room available for us and without asking, she upgraded us to a beautiful suite with views. The room was bright during the day with all blinds and curtains open and quite dark at night with all curtains closed. Comfortable bed, walking distance to Little Italy, Gaslamp district, parks and the shoreline with all the ships to visit. Parking is a bit expensive but overall experience was great. We have already recommended Sofia to other people who are planning to go to SD and we will definitely stay there again. Great staff, great management.

Terrible Experience — Definitely Not a 3-Star Hotel I was promised an upgraded room, but it never happened. The room was very dirty — the fridge had stains and smelled bad, the chair was filthy, and even the bathroom sink and shower didn’t drain properly. For $200 a night, I expected basic cleanliness and functioning amenities, but it was worse than most motels. When I asked the front desk about the issues, they just laughed and said they didn’t have anything available, never even tried to fix the problems. I had to stay for three days watching them do absolutely nothing. The service was by far the worst I’ve ever experienced. There may be shops nearby, but that’s the only positive thing I can say. This place is nowhere near a true 3-star hotel — very disappointing and not worth the money at all.

The hotel is in a great location for walking downtown. The room was ok but the AC barely worked keeping the room stuffy. The shower was miniscule and the water barely trickled out. There was no water bottles or anything. Ice was on our floor but water machines were on another floor except they didn't give you anything to put water in unless you were interested in using a 6 oz coffee mug. We stayed before and really liked it, but after this stay will probably not go back.

Great location to visit San Diego. Close to the port and the main roads! Safe streets and very kind staff. Rooms are too small but very modern and fully equipped! They also have a gym! Unfortunately the parking is really expensive

For an older property this place is well maintained the room was clean and nothing is damaged. The bed was comfortable. Only complaint is that the fitness center doesn’t open until eight in the morning. Most of us traveling are busy during the day and want to work out before going to our job or tourist activities making it almost impossible to use the fitness center before you start your day.

Do not be fooled by the 3.5 star rating and pictures, this place looks and feels like you are in a 3rd world country. Zero maintenance or upkeep on property, parking lot is trash, and you will have to justify to your family why you are so cheap because for $30/night more you could have stayed at literally 5 way nicer places on the same street. The rooms all smell and feel damp and have not been updated since the 70's by all appearances. I needed 3 rooms for the week for an in town job with my crew so figured this place would do as it was already $$, but trust me if I could have switched hotels the moment I walked in I would have. Instead I requested to be moved to their nicest room, they assured me I was already in it. It is not worth it to feel like this whether you're on vacation or working and want to enjoy sleeping after a long day!

The hotel looked clean so I was surprised to see a roach in the middle of the night. A lot of construction is being done on the parking areas. Could easily hear the person on the floor above me walking around. My brother mentioned the cafe's food was good. The blanket was super thin so I was cold. I specifically told them upfront when I got the reservation that I was handicap, so when I texted to ask for more blankets they said to come get them myself from the lobby. They refused to deliver them. I arrived to check in and the customer in front of me was arguing with the supervisor for roughly five minutes about a mix up on her reservation order. Another rep decided to check me in while the other two kept going round and round. What a great first impression. When I checked out I was asked if I'd like to sign up to start getting reward points. Definitely not since I won't go back to any hotel that has roaches.

This is an older "heritage property", you might euphemistically call it. The building exteriors look old. Some renovations are underway to the grounds and parking lot. My room was nicely updated on the inside. Unlike most Best Westerns, there is no free breakfast at this hotel. There is an on-site restaurant with reasonable prices, and I found the food to be fairly good. The location can't be beat if traveling by car. It is close to all the major north/south freeways and right on the I-8.

Everything was absolutely wonderful until the smoke alarm went off when taking a shower, the amoke alarm is right outside the bathroom and the hot steam sets them off. Multiple rooms had smoke alarms going off and it was nerve racking. Staff is great, hot tube was very nice and relaxing, nice atmosphere and layout. Just really sucks when u have to shower and are not expecting the smoke alarm

Bad experience. We chose this particular hotel because it had an electric car charger. When we arrived, it was broken, and there was only one available, which was occupied by another car all night. They didn't offer any solution. The room smelled damp, the sheets were wet, the carpet smelled bad… The only good thing was the restaurant service.

The property features a saltwater hot tub!! It is open from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm. The best for sore aching muscles. There is a restaurant on site. The grounds are pretty and well maintained. There is a self-serve snack bar (vending machines and microwave) and laundry facility. The rooms are adequate and all have a mini fridge.

I am not sure why I’ve never put a review up for Omni LA Costa Resort. The hotel has beautiful grounds and we’ve even been upgraded there I remember correctly. My husband and I have stayed there a few times , and we were treated very well. I think at least twice , we had our dinner comped because our room wasn’t ready upon check-in. However, we weren’t rude , we were kind and I think thats why they staff was willing to do that for us. I hope the staff there know their kindness didn’t go unnoticed.

I stayed at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad with my partner, to celebrate my birthday. Since we’re local, we thought it would be a great midweek getaway and even brought our dog after confirming with the hotel that pets are welcome as long as they are leashed at all times. Unfortunately, our experience was overshadowed by another guest and the way the staff handled the situation. On two separate occasions, I was charged by an off-leash dog (a doodle) while walking my leashed dog. The first time I quickly went back inside, but the second time I was forced to yell at the owner to leash his dog. He initially refused, and when my partner came outside, the man became confrontational, claiming our dog shouldn’t be on property if he couldn’t be approached by other dogs. The resort’s rules clearly state that all dogs must remain on leash. We called security, which took 15 minutes to arrive, while the man sat on the grass, antagonized us, and gave me the finger. When security finally came, the man began making false accusations against me instead of being held accountable for breaking the rules. To make matters worse, the head of security told us he needed to “see our dog” to determine if he was safe to be on the property, even though our dog was leashed the entire time and the other guest’s dog was the problem. We were stunned by the lack of professionalism. The manager on duty, Vanessa, repeatedly passed us off, and the head of security, Michael Sears, could not provide clear answers about how the situation was being addressed. It’s now been over two weeks since our stay, and there has been no real resolution. The only “fix” offered was having the loss prevention manager speak briefly with my partner, which did nothing to address the larger issue. As an LGBTQ couple, it was disheartening to feel like we were dismissed and treated as less important than the other guest, who repeatedly stated he was a “member.” It felt as though his status afforded him leniency, while we, as paying guests, were pushed to the side despite following every rule. For a resort of Omni’s caliber, I expected far better. Clear enforcement of rules, professionalism, and genuine accountability should be the standard. Instead, we were left feeling disrespected, unsafe, and unwelcome. We’ve filed a formal complaint with Omni corporate, but based on the response so far, it’s clear this property has serious issues in how it handles guest safety and bias.

I was at the Omni La Costa for my first time last week for a work conference. They didn’t have a room for me during check in, so the wonderful lady at the desk upgraded me to a suite right on the golf course for my 4-night stay. It was spectacular view, very tranquil ambiance, and a beautiful evening every night. Got a cheeky round of tennis in at the courts last minute, you can rent everything you need. The walk to the Lobby and main area would be the only strenuous part if walking longer distances (2-3 blocks each way) is not your thing. Fear not, the staff have golf carts that will gladly cart you and your party across the resort. All around great stay!

Nice place to relax. Rooms have been updated recently it seems but unfortunately in my room they replaced the tub with only a shower. in the past it had both a large separate tub and shower for a king bed room. Enjoyed the pools and jacuzzi as well as their fitness center. only note is hopefully the pool gets a little more attention, for the 3 days I've been here I've seen the same empty wine glasses and even a broken nail on the floor, understandably it's been low traffic my whole stay often having the area to myself but would be nice to get a clean up once a day

The property is in need of many physical repairs. The rooms are super dated. There was not one hook to hang a towel. Peeling wood on the outside of the buildings, cobwebs in the windows, crumbling stones and bricks. Food is mediocre. The gym has ample equipment but aesthetically many of the machines and stretch equipment are aged and peeling. There is a great kids focused splash area, water slide and toddler pool that’s about a foot deep.

ROBBED DURING OUR STAY HERE!!! Story time: We stayed here for one night as a birthday weekend getaway. We stayed on property for dinner and watched the World Series for a few hours at the bar. When we got back to our room, we found that all the cash had been taken out of my girlfriend’s wallet. Notably, we had a reservation for the bar, so at least some employees knew where we would be for some time. Items that never leave that section of the wallet were taken as well, this was not simply misplaced. We called the front desk and security showed up. We gave a report, and they said they would investigate. We were in a lower level plaza room which has a door that leads directly outside. There were two cameras that I found that point directly at the patio door. Between the two cameras and an audit of the hotel keys, I have no doubt that there is some evidence. In the effort of full disclosure, when we got back, we saw the patio door was closed, but unlocked. Whether that was forgetfulness on our end or a strategy by the intruder is unsure. After a night of poor sleep from anxiety and feeling a bit worked up, I got a call the next morning saying that their investigation was “inconclusive.” After some pushback, they said that when it’s dark, the cameras don’t pick up much, if anything. That seems like a flaw to me. With that, there was no resolution given to me except that they would send to their insurance company and have them reach out to me. I’m very disappointed with the way this was handled by management. In fact, I haven’t heard anything from management, just the security guard. One night of comped parking/resort fee would have just about made up for the cash lost, and I would have felt that they cared, at least a little bit. Instead, I’m posting this review. Oh, and we had to change rooms from our initial room as there were a number of dead bugs on the window sill. I don’t even necessarily mind the bugs, it’s an outdoorsy property, but wouldn’t you have cleaned them before turning the room? I don’t usually write many reviews, but for the greater good I needed to write this one. If you have a reservation booked, be careful while on property. If you haven’t finalized plans, choose one of the other great properties in this area. I’ll try a redo for my birthday somewhere else.

Place was amazing . Would have been a 5star until I ordered room service for breakfast. Besides been pricey. The food arrived hour late & deliveries in bag by the door. Definitely not the best room service for a $200 breakfast. Beside breakfast experience was positive. I would NOT recommend room service.

After an exhausting 11-hour road trip, I was craving a good night’s sleep. Thankfully, Marriott in La Jolla responded to my request and delivered. Parking was a bit of a challenge. They have underground parking, which is convenient, but the entrance is narrow, so if you’re driving a large car, be prepared to pay extra attention. Parking is also pricey at $35 per night, but that’s just California. The hotel service was impeccable. From the moment we checked in to the time we checked out, the staff was friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, they ran out of two-beds room, but they were able to accommodate us. The hotel facilities were great. We were able to walk around and explore the area. It’s definitely a perfect spot for meetings, weddings, or even a staycation. Now, let’s talk about our room. It was quite comfortable, but it’s on the older side. However, the air conditioning was great, and the outdoor view was awesome.

Best pillows ever in fact I need to figure out where they get it from. Great cleanliness of the hotel. Fridge available and large TV. Beautiful view!!! Gym was well supplied from cardio, to weights, water station and even pull up bar!

We stayed here for our trip to San Diego. It was in a very convenient location (20 minute drive from the airport). We wanted an area where we would feel safe so we chose not to be downtown. This was perfect. Staff was helpful and there were families with children. They had a nice business area to work. Parking was convenient and costs $39 a night. Room was very clean. We had a balcony room and we enjoyed the view.

Overall, I had an excellent stay. The hotel is very clean, the service is outstanding, and the location is perfect. However, the furniture feels quite dated, especially in the rooms, bathrooms, and hallways, which could benefit from renovation. Additionally, the noise from the room doors closing is very loud and can easily wake you up during the night.

The hotel is OK, but the M lounge is a far below the typical standard. It does not open in the evening on weekends (only Sun-Thu, no alchoalic bevarages or quick foods on weekends), no coffee(!) during the day and the breakfast buffet there had only scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes and oatmeal and some breads. The variety were like less than one of Residence Inns and the food served were like the quality and the taste there. It is definitely not a lounge of a 4 star hotel and it has to be blamed hard for that.

Location is good, good service, central to the university and other shopping center but for $300/night no complimentary breakfast? Thought this was standard especially for 4 star hotel….. room comes with 2 free water bottle but the market charges $6/bottle crazy. And coming into the room there was an old musty smell, had to turn on AC to get rid of it. The amenities provided did not reflect 4 star quality.

Tania Saienz was amazing. She was absolutely amazing, helpful, friendly, kind and very fast. The food was delicious and there was always plenty of it. Tania made sure we were always taken care of. She does her job with love. OK

I stayed in a suite with a courtyard view, and my room was very spacious. The lobby, pool facilities, hotel grounds, and bar were all very well kept. I particularly liked the adults-only pool and hot tub, as the main pool was loud with many children. The front desk and valet staff were very attentive and answered all of our questions and requests in a timely manner.

Park Hyatt Aviara is absolutely beautiful!! We stayed 4 nights and it was wonderful! They even exceeded our highest expectations! Each staff member was well groomed with five star service mentality! Special mention of Tyler, Annie, Amir and Alex 💓 they were superbly attentive and first class 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Food was fabulous! Adult pool is beautiful and relaxing. Rooms were impeccable in every way, supremely clean, looked freshly painted, with new furniture and high quality linens .. super comfortable bed and furniture. Everything was fresh and house keeping on their A game! The whole resort is fantastic and extremely well taken care of … meticulously maintained with a spirit of excellence! I highly recommend Park Hyatt Aviara and would definitely come back! The Miraval Spa was a healing oasis! A heavenly experience of serenity and tranquillity 🌺 Super clean. Side note, we prefer a peaceful, private quiet corner and we were very fortunate that Hyatt accommodated our request to perfection! We got the top floor - suite 505 and it was spacious and beautiful and perfect for my husband and I. Plus it has a GORGEOUS view of golf course, mountains, lagoon and Pacific Ocean in the distance. Love you Park Hyatt Aviara!! Tip of the hat to your leadership and whole team!

I had a wonderful stay at Hyatt Park! The place is extremely pet-friendly, which made traveling with my dog so easy and comfortable. The service was highly professional and attentive—every detail was handled perfectly. The room itself was beautiful, private, and well-maintained, creating a really relaxing atmosphere. I also really appreciated the late checkout, which made the whole experience even better. Overall, everything felt thoughtful, seamless, and discreet—definitely a place I’d love to come back to જ⁀➴ᥫ᭡⊹₊⋆

Was here to attend a friend’s wedding and had the best time. The he rooms were spacious, well equipped and had spectacular views. The food options at the hotel were amazing too. The only thing I think the place could improve on is the late night snack and food options. It’s a popular hotel with weddings and I believe the late night snack option would’ve been amazing. Also, I was surprised to see that there was no minibar. I walked in wanting to grab a beer out of the mini fridge, but there was none available. Opportunity lost, but overall had an amazing experience. Would definitely recommend, esp for gold lovers it’s a great place to be.

A resort of true luxury and great service!! I really enjoy the adult pool with fantastic mountain view. Water is crystal clear (not the kids pool which is understandable. No one can keep the kids pool clean all the time). The golf course ⛳️ is amazing 😻. Driving range is complimentary if you stay at the hotel.

Five Star Resort - Globalist Treatment Reviewed May 24, 2024 My wife and I enjoyed our one night stay at the Park Hyatt Aviara Resort in Carlsbad. The resort is in a quiet area east of I-5 with sweeping views of canyons and a distant ocean view. The landscaping is maintained perfectly and the entire property is clean and extremely safe. Our room was upgraded to a beautiful one bedroom suite with two balconies overlooking the central courtyard area. The suite/rooms were very nicely appointed and maintained...definitely befittting a five-star property. The suite was comfortable and very spacious. Staff at check in and at the restaurant were all very professional. Breakfast at the restaurant was very tasty and plentiful with the Globalist "benefits". We were very pleased with the resort, the staff and the experience overall and would happily return for another visit. Date of stay: April 2024

This was my first time my family and I stayed at this resort and it will not be my last. This hotel really caters to all families and the service it provides is unlike anything I have experienced. The rooms were clean, the service was the best and catered to all our needs, the pool was spectacular I could go on and on. The 4th of July event was maybe one of the better events I have ever attended, the food, the bar, the fireworks, the band it was just perfection. I would like to thank Nate (GM) who helped us out with securing a table, taking care of us at the pool, along with Sophia (server). This hotel is 5 stars for a reason, and we look forward to coming back again. Thank you again for a great trip! Gus

From the moment you step onto the property, The Lodge at Torrey Pines feels like a dream you don’t want to wake from. The scent of the wood and the ocean air greets you at all hours, grounding you in the present while reminding you you’re somewhere truly special. The attention to detail in the Craftsman architecture, the warmth of the staff, and the quiet luxury of the rooms create an atmosphere that is both calming and inspiring. It’s one of those rare places where you find yourself pausing simply to take in the feeling of being there—whether it’s early in the morning before a round, watching the sun rise over the course, or walking back in the evening under the soft glow of lantern lights. The Lodge is a place that honors the beauty of Torrey Pines while adding its own layer of hospitality that feels timeless. It is a place I will carry with me long after leaving—and a place I hope to return to as often as life allows. Truly, a 10/10 experience.

I genuinely enjoyed this hotel. It is clean, cozy and situated in an area that feels so far removed from the chaos of the city but it is very close to all the beautiful beaches of north county San Diego and not far from the interstate to get a little farther down south relatively quickly. It really does look and feel like a mountain lodge and I enjoyed the atmosphere immensely. Fire places and dark wood moldings throughout, are a beautiful touch to give the complete lodge experience. Highly recommend

Our experience at The Lodge at Torrey Pines was truly exceptional from start to finish. Check-in was quick and seamless, and we were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary upgrade to a beautiful suite. The room was incredibly spacious and featured two bathrooms and a cozy fireplace that made our stay extra comfortable. We also loved that the property is pet-friendly — our dog was warmly welcomed with a dog bed and food bowls, which was such a thoughtful touch. Both on-site restaurants offered delicious food and great service, making it easy to relax and enjoy everything in one place. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay and will definitely be returning. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for luxury, comfort, and top-notch hospitality in La Jolla.

The Lodge is one of a kind. I’ve golfed at Torrey Pines, but never while staying at the Lodge. Point being that this oasis isn’t just for golfers / golfing. While not an inexpensive lodging option, the many special touches are reminiscent of a Four Seasons / Ritz experience, albeit tucked into the unassuming charm of craftsman architecture (more unassuming compared to most top lodging brands), which I adore. When comparing experience value to cost, I’d say this property is a solid value. The pool area is understated and relaxing, the service is excellent, the dining options a perfect match (we prefer the more understated Grill, which has a terrific outdoor covered / heated / wind protected patio). The remodeled central courtyard is wonderful, providing significantly more light to the rooms and balconies than prior to the remodel. All in all, one of our favorite hotels of all time, which keeps us coming back. Thanks to the employees, management team, and ownership for maintaining such a treasure. Shout out to the maintenance team - while walking through the parking garage, the door to the maintenance shop was open and that team was busily at work . . . reminded us of all the efforts this team makes to keep this treasure shining . . . well done!

We loved it here! The staff was so helpful and friendly. The food was amazing even though we were with a large group which usually means the food is mediocre. Not here! We loved using their e-bikes and riding. And hiking the trails in the nature reserve. Just superb.

I took my husband here back in January for his 50th birthday to watch the Farmer’s Open. The hotel is beautiful and we overall had a nice time. But when we checked in, they told me at the front desk that the king room that I booked was no longer available and they were putting us in a double queen room. It was kind of like a “too bad” attitude. I was shocked and expressed my disappointment since it was my husband’s birthday and they somehow “found” a king room. I’ve never had a hotel change my reservation like that without notice and especially not at a 5 star hotel. We don’t normally splurge like that but it was a special occasion and they kind of put a damper on it. Overall the rest of the staff, especially the bartenders were very nice.

Stunning property with amazing ocean views. Sunset is incredible out by the fire pits. The service was exceptional as well. The property offers privacy and seclusion while only being 15-20 minutes away from other towns for shopping/dining/sightseeing.

Conveniently located off the main road, not too noisy, and near the ocean. Room was spacious with nice shower and a hint of ocean view. The place is quite large feels like a maze or a beehive. No easy ocean access but you can hike down the cliff. They are charging the parking $20 fee on the top of your reservation but taking it "conveniently" off your security deposit (their words). Parking is plentiful, also in the underground garage.

My husband and I love coming to Hotel Indigo; it’s always a pleasure. It’s the nicest beach hotel anywhere in North San Diego, but what really makes it special is the bar, restaurant, and view, particularly the service. Santana is fantastic. Everyone who comes in instantly feels welcome, warm, and at home. Can’t wait to come here again.

I can’t say enough about this hidden gem! It’s been the perfect spot for our family Of 6 or just a night away! The pools are always clean, the spa is AH-MAZ-ING, and the food is always delicious! The location is perfect- Just a few blocks to the beach and shops. I highly recommend this hotel!!

Our stay for a week was absolutely amazing! The staff was all super friendly. Tee was our morning waitress for most of the stay and she was wonderful, always engaging with my daughter and was super helpful when it came to tourist questions. Tremendous service all around! The French toast is a must have!

My family and I just stayed at The Hotel Indigo, Del Mar and had a wonderful experience. The management and staff were visible and so very helpful our entire stay and provided some of the best service we've experienced. We had the pleasure of having happy and dinner in the dining room and on the upstairs patio. The food and views are incredible along with the complimentary champagne toast at sunset. Thank you, Hotel Indigo, Del Mar for an unforgettable experience. We cannot wait to come back.

The Ocean View Bar and Grill has AMAZING food. Del Mar has a ton of nearby shots, but I have to start my day with their breakfast. Absolutely the best. Love the staff as well as the view from the outside restaurant deck. Simply amazing 🤩!

We stayed here for an off day on tour and we could not have stayed in a better spot, short walk from downtown Del mar, clean rooms and great pools with jacuzzi. Paulina, David and the rest of the team were exceptional at looking after our group, would 100% stay again!

I booked my daughter into this hotel which is a mile from my condo. She checked in and promptly checked out due to the condition of her room. Walls were scuffed up. There was something unknown stuck to the carpet. Bathroom dirty!! Just bad!!! Worst thing is that I wasn’t able to get a refund for the 2 nights I paid for in advance…BEWARE!!!!! 🙄🙄🙄

Nice and small hotel in the Torrey Pines area. Lobby is nice. The beds are comfortable. TV remote was challenging. It’s a modern tv & remote which you can operate from your phone. The room has microwave, mini fridge and a coffee maker. Shampoo/conditioner/bodywash/lotion are provided. The rooms need updating. They are older and BROWN. Lighten up the carpet, walls & drapes. It’s dreary now. Staff were nice they switched our room because it was dark. Our upgrade to a patio was facing a wall. they could have told us that breakfast was served at the hotel behind this hotel. We missed the complementary breakfast. Or put a note in the room. The pool/spa area were nice.

I had a problem with my reservation upon checking in, which was no fault of the hotel. The Front desk manager, Cedric was exceptional in helping me resolve my issue. He took charge of the situation he was professional and empathetic. His customer service was outstanding and on point.

The staff gave us a sub par room, but later rectified it once I voiced my concerns. Staff was very good. Had to go to another hotel for breakfast by 930a. Parking was decent!. Nothing much around the area walking distance.

My friend & I were here from out of town for an important appointment for my pregnancy. When we first got into our room it smelled HORRIBLY of mildew and chemicals.. we opened the window and left for a few hours to air it out and came back to the same smell. We called down to the front desk to see if we could get a different room and Linda P said she’d call back. Never did. We went down to the front desk to speak with her and she was immediately EXTREMELY rude! Wouldn’t let us speak to the manager and refused to help us, helping other customers instead. We ended up leaving to a different hotel, and she refused to give me my receipt. Linda P needs some serious training on customer service, I will never go back and the clinic I work with said they will not be booking their clients there anymore. The smell was so bad I was scared to breathe it in for the sake of the baby in my belly. Horrible experience and will never go back.

This is the worst run Hilton property I have stayed in across the last three months of travel. The group need to refit the place, fire the management, and ensure this never happens again. Update: After receiving no response to a written complaint, called the number, got put on hold for 13 minutes then after reading out all the details twice over was told "this looks very unprofessional by the manager" and they hung up (line went silent). They clearly value feedback. I would be an idiot to waste more time on this chain.

Very good location. 15 mins drive to most of the tourist attractions. Safe place to go around.

This place is absolutely incredible! It sits right on the ocean with a beautiful turf yard and fire pits facing the water. The pool alone is worth the stay—it’s stunning, and the poolside service is excellent. The rooms are beautifully designed with thoughtful features and some of the most comfortable beds you’ll find. The whole property has a refined, elegant vibe, and since it’s relatively small, it never feels like an overcrowded resort. Everything feels fresh and new, with a completely different atmosphere compared to The Del. The only downside is there are plenty of kids around—but honestly, who cares.. enjoy life The rooms come with free chairs and umbrella at the beach.

My husband and I had an amazing weekend at the Shore House!!! We go there every couple of months and alway can’t wait to go back!!! Top notch hospitality and quality all around. We travel the world and use to great fine hotels , but this one is different! It makes us feel at home far away from home! I would like to emphasize that the manager Daniel Chier , is above and beyond professional and shows an extremely good example to all other employees He is getting things done! You can easily see how much he cares about the hotels guests ! It’s more than just a job for him! I’ve never seen anyone like that in all of our travels! Nily Yefet Shalom

Pros: Wonderful, friendly, helpful staff. Valet was top notch. Hotel itself is beautiful. The rooms were spacious and extremely clean and the beds were very comfortable. I would definitely stay here again. Cons: Couldn't swim at the beach due to the sewage, not the hotels fault. Pool was packed with more kids than adults, so unfortunately it wasn't relaxing. Buffet breakfast was disappointing, aside from their shrimp.

Update: managers response below is indicative of the service you will get. Buyer beware We stayed at the Shore House for 5 nights this past week in a 2 bedroom Oceanview villa which cost $8,200 or $1,600/ night just for the room. The Shore House is sold as the "luxury or exclusive" option the the coranado hotel. We found this not to be the case. There were several gaps in service and issues with our stay. It would have been significantly cheaper to stay at the Fairmont, a 5 star hotel with much better service. I am disappointed that this place is listed with Amex as one of their "luxury fine choice hotels". Pros: The rooms and hotel are clean, the rooms are well appointed, and you get exclusive access to the shore house pool and the bistro on site that serves breakfast. There really is nothing else exclusive about it- in fact, we found the offerings at other parts of the hotel to be superior. Cons: the bistro onsite serves a buffet breakfast. We had the breakfast there 3 times. I am convinced the people running it have no experience in food service, let alone at a higher end place. All three times there was barely any service at all. I had to leave the table to go find someone when we wanted coffee, water, or anything else. Imagine not even setting a table with water glasses. One time we were told they didn't have any coffee cream for the coffee. They brought us milk instead in a soy sauce container. One morning we decided to go to go have breakfast at the main hotel (veranda) and the buffet there was SIGNIFICANLY better, had more options, and much better service. The poolside service is also non-existent. A waiter came by and we asked for a menu- she brought one 40 minutes later then never came back to take an order. When we were checking in, we asked for a bellman to help with our bags as we had a baby. We were told "no one is available right now", and they would not give us a luggage cart to use as "an employee needs to operate it". So we dragged our own luggage, stroller. etc. The icing on the cake was that the air conditioning didn't work on the top level of our 2 floor room. It was probably 80 degrees in one of the rooms where our daughter slept. We let the front desk know and they sent someone to fix it. the person told us it was because we sent the temp too high (it was set to 70 degrees). He turned it down to 63 degrees and left. we found this "solution" to be completely unreasonable. It was FREEZING in our room and upstairs was still warm. Our baby had to sleep in our room instead which defeated the purpose of paying for a 2 bedroom suite. If you would like to stay at this hotel my advice is to go experience it and not pay for any extras or anything "exclusive". A hotel which bills itself as a resort should have the services and amenities to support this. For $1600/ night you are better off booking the ritz, four seasons, fairmont etc.

Stay at the main Hotel Del and avoid Shorehouse. Was excited for this property since it’s brand new but it was a big disappointment. There is no concierge, you are left to do most things on your own and no one answers the phone at the front desk. Also had a smoking next door neighbor at this non-smoking property. Management has set up this property to fail. Very young staff, nice but inexperienced. Everything was overpriced and no one goes out of their way to help you. Had to ask for our room to get cleaned. Better service at a Holiday Inn.

When you spend $1000 a night for you come to expect a certain level of accommodation, amenities, and assistance. This hotel failed in every single aspect. I did speak to the Hotel manager Abukar Hussein, after our stay who argued with me - and provided 15% discount instead of refunding my money. Here were our issues: Our suitcases were lost/misplaced - they were eventually found, but one of the front staff who took our suitcase tag - lost it. We checked in early at 9:45 am, but our room wasn’t ready (understandable). We were told I would receive a call when the room was ready. The call never came. When I walked down in person at 2:45 a different member of staff advised that it had been ready, but didn’t know they were supposed to notify me. Their front doors are not equipped for wheelchairs. It made it impossible to exit or enter with my mother’s wheelchair. I had to rely on strangers to hold/open the doors for us. I did point this out to staff. The Hotel manager Abukar Hussein, argued this point. Their “Del Dash” service for food is terribly problematic.  I paid an enormous amount of money for receiving next to nothing. We received a dry wedge salad with some crab on top and a chicken. No sides, no sauces/accompaniments. It was terrible. The front desk staff informed me that I should not have used that service (despite recommending when I called to inquire about it because it was promoted in their room). They advised I should have just done DoorDash. Fireplace was broken - asked repeatedly for someone to fix it during our 2 day stay - however no one came. At 7:00pm on our last night - we received a call to advise that our fireplace was missing a piece of equipment that could not be fixed by them. Stopper in sink broken off and left in sink when we came in on Friday. I tried to screw it in but it didn’t work. Old hair dryer broken. Temperature gauge in room didn’t work. Front desk does not answer the phones - I held for several minutes during 3 separate calls - before all of them were transferred to the main hotel (who were unable to help me). There appears to be a lack of service for your phones. I went down in person the night before we were to leave, to request assistance for our luggage in the morning on check out. I advised the staff that my mom was in a wheelchair and that I needed help. I was told that unfortunately there are no guarantees as it will be busy. The girl did write it down on a sticky note but said they most likely wouldn’t be able to assist. For people who require assistance-people should be able to arrange it with staff. I did speak again to the front desk in the morning but was advised that it was very busy and there was no help or assistance available. I sincerely hope these matters are addressed quickly, particularly those impacting guests with mobility needs. If left unaddressed, it could be perceived as discriminatory or ableist. I would not recommend staying at this overpriced and inefficient hotel. Save your money and just come to this hotel to take pictures.

Amazing place full of History and the charm of a lost era. The hotel and surrounding is modernized for todays cultures with captivating people mysic food and great vibes. Not for the frugal at heart but a great experience I'm please to say we took.

We stayed in the Marina Tower. Very nice, modern update. Beautiful lobby and pleasing rooms with a relaxing color scheme and decorations. The pools and firepits were nice. All of the restaurants had good food, especially Rumorosa. Excellent head chef, creative and tasty sauces. Breakfast buffet was very complete and good quality food. Don't be put off by the sub 4 rating of the hotel. That was the old hotel before or during a long renovation. Service was a bit sketchy. All of our servers were excellent. True pros. However, the front desk was very hit or miss. We asked for engineering to check out our inoperable height adjusting table on three occasions. On guy came, said he'd be back but didn't. Or other two requests had no response.

We stayed at this Sheraton hotel for the first time. I was excited to go because I'd heard good things about it. And indeed the location is beautiful. It's right on the marina. The hotel itself is lovely and overall our stay was good except for noise management in the room next door. We were placed in a room with an adjoining door and the sound barrier is minimal. Unfortunately the room next to us was occupied by a bunch of young ladies who decided playing loud music laughing and giggling until 1:30 in the morning was okay. I had to call down to the front desk FIVE TIMES 😠. Finally, I think they moved to another room. This was important because I needed to be up at 5:30 am. So I had minimal sleep. So my recommendation is to make sure you do not have a room with an adjoining door to minimize the sound. Outside of that or stay would have been nice.

I've been a professional wedding photographer for over 15 years, and have photographed over 500 weddings, and rarely am I overly impressed with the service and hospitality of chain hotels. My recent experience photographing a wedding (pictures below) at this venue was beyond awesome! From the moment I arrived the staff was incredibly helpful, accommodating, and treated me like a valued guest! Not to mention me and my assistant (and other vendors) were well taken care of with an outstanding vendor meal! So, even as a working vendor, not spending money at the hotel, this venue and staff treated me with the utmost kindness, professionalism and respect. Plus, the property is beautiful, and the recent remodel is gorgeous! If you are getting married this is an outstanding option! Five stars all around!

This place isn’t designed for individuals that travel on a budget. This place is a “business” class resort. They accommodate the pilots and stewards, and military personnel. Common folk like me, it ruined the entire 1 week vacation that was carefully planned. Between their daily $41 resort fees, $25 hourly parking, $50 nightly parking, it adds up fast. The front desk was not informative on how to access the paid resort amenities. I had to walk from the harbor parking lot ($5 per 12 hour parking). Across the street to the property and down to the other end where we were placed in their “bay tower”. After 3 days of walking every morning and evening to park the car. Someone at the bay tower explained what we were scammed into. Shuttle services exist to and from the airport and between the towers at this property. That would had been helpful when planning a car rental for 7 days. Also, no free breakfast or food voucher for a 4-stat hotel is very cheap to be charged $41 daily for a resort fee. While our room did get a clean daily. I found the bathroom had smudges like mold spots near the ceiling, the wall paper was falling off the bathroom. The coffee maker was really useless and the pool near the bay side looked like no one was allowed to enter.

Bernard was excellent great hospitality. He definitely deserves a raise! He made Our trip even better took care of us from the moment we walked in. I definitely will come back to the Sheridan hotel because of him. Great person. The room was nice. The view was amazing and the food at the hotel was pretty good. Overall good service. 5⭐️

Awesome location and views. Very clean and modern. Great hotel. The airport shuttle was a plus, but I had to wait 45 min for it. Wish they just had a schedule of every 30 min or something.

The Sheraton San Diego Resort has been around forever, but the recent remodel completely transformed it and it looks amazing now. The rooms feel fresh and modern with beautiful views over a balcony of downtown and the bay area. The pool area is beautiful, and they have a schedule with tons of different things to do during your resort stay. It's right across from the airport too (which is right next to downtown), so you'll be in the heart of everything!

Most comfortable bed we had in a 7 city tour over 13 days. Great location that is close to UC San Diego. Close to various beaches and short drive to zoo or other attractions while not being in the noise or expense of downtown La Jolla. Bathroom very small and tight . Many light bulbs dull or not working. This is an old RI from 1986 that needs more upkeep. Be prepared to do outside stairs to upstairs units or ask for floor unit. Over 236 units and they did a good job on breakfast and seating. Needs better greeter at front desk. Jay, who checked us in, was complaining about his day and having to multi -task as we checked in after driving from Texas to San Diego. He did not act as the welcoming inn keeper or fill us in on the large complex and what it had to offer. Our unit was quiet and the night staff was immediately responsive when loud boys were in the hot tub after midnight on a weekday (quiet hours start at 10 pm). All in all it met our needs Location and beds best part

If I could rate negative stars, I would give it -100!! Worst experience ever! This place is old and not maintained. The room smelled horribly musty. The room above streamed water into ours and the staff couldn’t care less! The rudest front desk and manager. Be warned this is not worth your money. It’s very crowded, parking is tight, people apparently live there. Breakfast was too crowded to know if it was any good. Stay away!!

Standard studio size room. Full size refrigerator and stove. Microwave and dishwasher. Complete dishware, pots and pans. I would give 5 stars but some of the cooking pans are so warped I went out and bought some new ones. All of the staff have been absolutely amazing. The front desk, the breakfast staff putting up with everyone, the maintenance and the room cleaners. Everyone is delightful! Good team of people working here. From Jay, Amir, Ashley, Tia, Francisco, Victoria and the rest that I didn't catch their names.

The breakfast service staff are really on top of everything, even during busy hours - cleaning tables, keeping food fresh and filled, responding to customers. Room service was also friendly - service with a smile. Love staying here to visit UCSD.

This hotel deserves the honor of being the worst Marriott hotel for the following reasons: 1. Dirty and smelly. The strange smell, probably food and cigarette smoke, cannot be eliminated no matter how much you ventilate. 2. Bugs. I had to deal with 3 bugs in one night. 3. Old and worn-out facilities. Facilities that must have been used for at least half a century without any major renovation. 4. Noise between floors. The sound of footsteps from upstairs keeps you up all night. 5. Dark. The first floor environment completely blocks out the bright and sunny California sunlight. In conclusion, if you want to save $100 and ruin your vacation, this is a hotel worth considering.

The breakfast is standard for vegetarians, but their meat options changed everyday. They have good spread, mainly they serve piping hot food. The bathroom in the guest room had dysfunctional toilet on the 2nd day, we weren't able to flush. But the room service came in a few hours and fixed it. It's basically a duplex building with loft on the second floor. Quite scary for young children to go on their own because as a parent you're worried they might fall off from the loft and have an accident. Overall a good experience, we stayed for 5 days.

After spending four weeks there, I can see that many team members work hard. However, constant service failures are seriously damaging the experience. Despite requesting assistance, my apartment was repeatedly left without cleaning — no fresh bed sheets, no toilet paper, no soap, and no basic touch-up. Even after a polite call to the front desk, nothing changed. Management needs to realize that when guests can't rely on consistent, basic service, it quickly overshadows the hard work of the rest of the team and damages the reputation of the entire property. I hope immediate improvements are made.

The hotel's stunning architecture and beachfront location creates an enchanting experience for everyone. Everything about this hotel gives you a sense of authenticity, old-world charm, and a sense of royalty. It is rich with history and a place worthy of exploring. We celebrated my daughter's fourth birthday there, and she felt like a princess, referring to the hotel as her castle. The hotel staff was exceptionally wonderful, and while we utilized valet parking due to the hotel's popularity, we were treated with great care. We wholeheartedly recommend this hotel, particularly for those seeking a family-friendly mini-vacation; it is an excellent choice and one we will definitely consider again!

Husband and I have lived our whole life’s in SD. That being said we are super disappointed in the experience today. He have a 27 year old friend in town from the Netherlands visiting so took him to enjoy the crown jewel of the city. Sat for a cocktail at the bar by the up coming ice rink. Our friend left his ID in the car, fine, went to retrieve it and came back to show his ID. Well the bartender took id and wanted to show the manager. When he came back they wanted a passport.never before have I heard that. And did ask for it at first. So because he didn’t have his physical passport he couldn’t sit at the bar. He had a valid id from the Netherlands shows he’s 27. Side note the lady next to us got her drink just telling the bartender she was 42 no id we over heard. We quickly finish our two drinks for 62 dollars as our friend stood back from the bar because he couldn’t sit there and left. Suuuuper disappointed to say the lease. And the bartender had more stains on his shirt than the towel he was using to wipe the counter. Way to go hotel manager.

Hotel del Coronado is rich in history, with beautifully crafted woodworking and architecture. There’s truly no other hotel like it, and we always enjoy our stays here. The newly completed renovation preserves many elements of the original buildings—such as stained glass windows and a recently uncovered mural—while updating the guest rooms. During our week-long visit, here are a few takeaways: • We were surprised to find there’s no in-room dining service. All service questions are handled by texting the main desk. • On the upside, there are several excellent restaurants on-site. If you enjoy fine dining, I highly recommend Nobu, offering exceptional contemporary Peruvian-Japanese fusion cuisine and outstanding service. • Be sure to research your room options in advance to ensure you have the features and view you want—there’s a wide variety to choose from. • The hotel is located near a military base, so you may occasionally hear jets or boats. • Guests can enjoy the main swimming pool and the hotel’s stunning oceanfront beach. • The spa is excellent and includes access to a fitness room and private spa pool. • Take time to explore the hotel’s history and visit its small museum to deepen your experience. The staff are happy to share stories about the ghost of Kate Morgan, and tours of her room (502) may be available. • Don’t miss the Crown Room, known for its grand Victorian architecture and crown-shaped chandeliers. Years ago, brunch was served in this elegant space—today it’s used for private events. I wish it were more accessible to guests.

Great location! The beach and setting are absolutely stunning and that is 100% what you are paying for. The room, amenities, and service are quite bad. In terms of service you will experience long waits and sometimes quite rude and unhelpful staff, the rooms are very very basic (worse than a Hilton garden Inn) with only the absolute essentials and none of the small touches you would experience at a luxury resort, and the whole resort is quite hard to get around with multiple layers and sections cordoned off per stay type/ room rate, so it is quite cumbersome to navigate and enjoy. Everything is extra and everything is an absolute rip off (e.g. the deck chairs and umbrellas at the beach are all extra). A 9oz glass of rose at the bar $32. The pool was very very busy and filled with kids and I can't imagine it being enjoyable in the summer. There were multiple events all day everyday so sometimes you have to walk through a conference or a wedding in a courtyard to get to your room which is a little awkward. My room had a leak in the roof making it quite hard to sleep and generally speaking the quality just isn't there for the amount you are paying. Prepare to be fleeced! On the upside the hotel is in walking distance to many wonderful shops and restaurants, the beach boardwalk is beautiful and all the restaurants on the hotel grounds have fantastic views. The rooms are generally quiet.

Highly recommend the beach front rooms. Hotel is very well kept and maintained. Such a great experience. We enjoyed wine with our hotel neighbors, sunsets, and the ocean front views. Thank you HDC we will book again soon!!

Most beautiful place. All made out of wood and old time place. The Christmas tree was beautiful. Took me back to my childhood. My great grandfather Ben Ross took the family there every winter there from Omak Washington to San Diego for the winter. My grandma and Great Uncle knew a few famous people that stayed in the hotel that time.

Hotel del Coronado is an absolute masterpiece! I’m completely thrilled with my stay at this legendary hotel. The Victorian-style architecture is breathtaking from the first glance, and the beach right at the doorstep makes it the perfect spot for a relaxing getaway. The rooms are spacious and elegant, the service is top-notch—staff are attentive and friendly, and the food at the restaurants is simply divine. The pools, spa, and ocean views create an atmosphere of luxury and comfort. If you’re looking for a place where history meets modern comfort, this is it! 5 stars out of 5, I’ll definitely be back! Here are three interesting facts about the hotel: 1. The hotel was built in 1888 and was considered the largest resort hotel in the world at the time of its opening. 2. It was the first hotel to be fully illuminated with electricity. 3. The famous film "Some Like It Hot" starring Marilyn Monroe was filmed here. Additional note: The hotel underwent a restoration in 2021, costing over $550 million.

We had the most wonderful wedding at this venue (on 12/7/2024)—it was everything we dreamed of and more. A huge shout-out to Ronald, the Director of Food and Beverage at the Hyatt, who treated us like family from the very first moment we happened to bump into him while exploring the venue as a potential option. May god protect that man at all costs. 🙌🏼 From the moment we booked, the staff went above and beyond to make sure every detail was handled with care. The space itself is stunning, with a warm and elegant atmosphere that made for the perfect backdrop to our special day. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about the beautiful setting, seamless service, and how well everything flowed from ceremony to reception. The team made us feel completely supported throughout the planning process and on the big day itself, so we could simply focus on celebrating. It truly was the perfect venue for our wedding, and we’ll cherish the memories forever. We can’t recommend it highly enough to anyone looking for a place to host such a meaningful occasion.

I recently just came across a business card in my pile of correspondence, so I felt compelled to finally (2 1/2 years later!) write about our outstanding experience at the Aventine. My daughter is part of the National Charity League and she had her fashion show at this location. From start to finish, their planning staff was unbelievably professional, supportive and simply went above and beyond to create a magical experience for the girls and their families. I also wanted to give a shout out to three young men, Stephen, Brian and Israel who stayed extra late to help my husband load props into his truck. They did it with a smile on their face and wouldn’t accept a tip. Just good guys through and through! Employees like this make this hotel a special place!

Pathetic service from start to finish. Day 1 started with an elevator makes constant noise, disturbing sleep. The air conditioning stops working in the middle of the night, making the room unbearably hot. Staff was unhelpful and showed no urgency in resolving issues. Definitely not worth the price – avoid this hotel! I have booked 6 nights with the hotel and their staff is not at all helpful. The attitude of the staff changes if you raise a complain.This is worst choice I have ever made in booking the hotel. I still have 4 nights to go n I wonder what to do.

It’s a pretty dead area, away from pretty much all things San Diego. The catered food was total crap as was the coffee from the onsite Starbucks. My last day I actually had an upset stomach from the unbearable food. The room is ok but the street lights are so harsh that you have to close all the windows to get a decent sleep. The onsite gym is actually not onsite. At the end of the day this is just a dull business hotel with no real amenities or experiential value. Also pretty sure the room service staff stole my cologne.

Good location. Friendly service. Decent pool and gym. However, the room was a bit underwhelming. Room seemed outdated/not clean. Toilet handle is loose and need adjustment every time you flush or else it just keeps running. Shower glass set up doesn't make much sense. Tip: if you do not want to pay for parking, may consider street parking on University Center Ln.

We stayed at the establishment over the past weekend. Unfortunately, the room was not clean, with noticeable stains on the carpet and walls. Throughout the night, we were disturbed by audible conversations and unusual sounds emanating from the ceiling. We utilized the hot tub in the evening, but the light was not functioning, resulting in an experience in the dark. I reported these issues to the front desk, but unfortunately, no resolution was provided. Additionally, I was charged extra fees of $86 and $75. So , if you think that you are paying full price when you are booking you're not that’s just a pre payment like they told me . So you will end up paying almost the double of your booking. I have stayed in seabird and others and never had this issue before. So , I highly recommend NOT to book here !

Stayed here because of the hotels proximity to nearby hospitals. Great service, comfortable rooms. The exercise facility is excellent. Pool is nice. The Drift restaurant is good; Shor is more mediocre. Service at both was excellent. Self parking is $39 a night. Overall a good experience.

The location is great and the staff was wonderful. The hotel is awful. The hallway and rooms smell like cigarette smoke and mildew. The floors are stained, the coffee maker didn’t work, and the toilet clogged. One of the bath towels had a stain on it. The parking was horrible, if you have a truck it will barely fit. The spots are tiny and the corners to get to the next level are so tight you have to do a 3 point turn to get around them. And they charge $33 a night for that nonsense. The pool and hot tub were nice with plenty of lounge chairs and clean towels. Overall for the price I felt scammed and I think we had a better experience at the Lamplighter Inn & Suites.

A Disappointing Stay Despite Friendly Staff I always try to highlight the positives in every business I review, and with some, it's easy. Unfortunately, this DoubleTree on Hotel Circle has been my most challenging review to date. The Positives: The front desk staff were very friendly and did their best to assist, though it was clear their ability to address larger issues was limited. The dining staff, in particular, went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed our meals, and their effort was genuinely appreciated. However, the negatives far outweighed the positives: The room was in poor condition—unclean and in serious need of updates. Our bathtub was rusty, the carpets were stained, and the room had a strong odor upon arrival. Housekeeping was inconsistent at best. Most days, our room wasn't cleaned, dirty towels weren't replaced, and basic issues (like a broken floor lamp) remained unresolved despite being reported. Even after notifying the front desk on our first day, no one followed up or came to fix the issue. I had to rely on overhead reading lights instead. I was honestly surprised this property is part of the Hilton brand. I understand renovations are planned, but I wish we had been made aware of the hotel’s current state prior to booking. As it stands, this experience has left a poor impression of the Hilton brand.

Manage your expectations. If you want a classy room like the Hilton or Doubletree on Hazard- this is not it. Staff was very respectful and service was wonderful. However, I can't help but wonder how this property carries the DoubleTree name. The parking structure is awful in design and upkeep. The rooms are ok but not what you'll get down the road at the Hilton or other DoubleTree. This is far from the luxurious stay you can get at nearby Hilton properties. I was disappointed and I spent lots of points, a free night, and then more money to stay here. The water pressure is terrible. And the parking garage elevator had an expired permit-it was also very slow. I stayed because my complaints couldn't be fixed and moving my family would have been a hassle. It's a doable stay, but again, manage your expectations. This property needs some TLC and updating. $33 parking is crazy, especially because it doesn't seem like you're paying for upkeep or security. I wouldn't recommend but I wouldn't steer away, I would just give someone a few things to consider.

Overall a really not great experience. The hotel is way outdated and very run down. The parking garage is TERRIBLE. The room we were in was like the extra room people can add onto their room and there was no sound insulation between the two rooms so I could hear every single thing the people in the room next door were saying. My kiddo wanted another cookie on the second day and they were out. The pool was nice. Enjoyed the fire pit. The people working in the restaurant in the morning for breakfast were great! Would I stay here again? Absolutely NOT. Save yourself the trouble and pick a better hotel somewhere else in San Diego.

This hotel falls far below the Hilton standards! I can see why it has such low ratings. It is old, dated and badly needs to be remodeled. I think that it is living off the Doubletree name and the location. I was given a room with an old, worn out mattress that actually had a curve in it and was very uncomfortable There was a 2" gap under the front door. I changed rooms and it was slightly better. I was charged $33 to park my car in a filthy, dirty parking garage that needs to be pressure washed and repainted. The elevator was very old and not working properly and was frankly kind of scary. I will never stay at the hotel again!

I loved this hotel, only thing is that the tub and sink drained slow and was filling up as it seemed to be stopped up, but went down after using it. I love the fact you get afree cookie potter quest, I think they should allow guests a cookie for each night they stay there, but it's limited to 1 per person per visit. They didn't have their pool stocked with towels, I had to go to the front desk to ask for one. Their elevator did not work for the parking area after when I asked if it worked and the staff said it did. I have a bad knee and it put alot of strain on my knee to where I started having spasms in my leg. I think the employees should have been aware that it wasn't operable or should have put a sign up. You do have to pay for parking, and they do not have free breakfast but they do have a buffet for purchase. Other than that, the hotel was clean and I wouldn't mind staying again.

All together a horrible experience. First night coming back to our room from dinner and walked into a horrific smell. Tried to air the room out but nothing helped the smell of mold. On top of that the pull-out couch couldn't be pulled out since part of it was broken. The next morning I get moved to another room. Was given 2 room keys only 1 worked. Later that night went to take a shower and the shower didn't work so maintenance had to come out. Both rooms the carpet was completely stained and in both bathrooms where the towels were placed there was build up. A little family getaway turned into such a headache. Never will my family and I stay at this location ever again it needs a whole renovation.

The hotel and surrounding area were great, and the check-in process went smoothly. However, I encountered a serious issue regarding undisclosed charges. I booked the hotel using my credit card, and at no point during the booking process was I informed about approximately $40 per night in city charges. I also wasn't notified about these charges at check-in. Several days after my stay, I noticed the additional amount had been deducted from my card. When I called to inquire, I was told these were city charges—but this was the first time I was hearing about them. Prior to this stay, I had stayed at another Hilton hotel in the same city, and in that case, all charges were clearly communicated during the booking process, so I had no issue paying them. What made this situation worse was the unprofessional response from the staff. When I pointed out that I had not been informed about the charges, the receptionist was rude, eventually hung up on me, and bluntly stated that I would be charged regardless. Let me be clear: I have no issue paying any authorized or legitimate charges—as a frequent traveler, I understand how hotel billing works. But I expect transparency and proper communication. It’s unacceptable to be charged without notification and then be treated dismissively when asking for clarification. The staff is friendly enough—as long as you don’t have any concerns. But if you do, be prepared for poor handling of the issue. For a hotel in this price range, I expected much better service and accountability.

I booked this hotel expecting a premium view room, but it turned out to be a complete scam. The “premium view” was just a regular room on the 7th floor with absolutely nothing special about the view. The pillows smelled awful, the shower was dirty, and overall the room felt poorly maintained. When I went to the front desk to speak with Trevor about these issues, his response was, “It is what it is.” — no apology, no effort to fix the situation, nothing. For the price they charge, this experience was completely unacceptable. Definitely not recommending this hotel and won’t be staying here again.

The Best Experience Thanks to Beck and the Hilton Gaslamp Team! After an Airbnb fiasco the night before my bachelorette weekend, I called the Hilton Gaslamp at 7am hoping to find somewhere for 10 girls to stay. Beck answered and was immediately so kind and accommodating — he helped us secure the best deal for three rooms and completely turned our day around. When we arrived, we were shocked (in the best way!) to find out he had upgraded us to presidential suites! He even left me a handwritten note and sent champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries, such a thoughtful touch. Every staff member we met was wonderful, especially the valet team and Cody, who helped us unload all our bags. Our stay was truly amazing, incredible service, perfect location, and the kindest staff. Beck and the Hilton Gaslamp team made our bachelorette weekend unforgettable!

My husband and I come here any time we are in San Diego. Recently we stayed here for our honeymoon and had another wonderful experience. The rooms are nice and always have a good view. The food at Wild Hare is delicious! More so what made our experience memorable were the bartenders. Israel who works the bar heard me asking about dessert and went to check if they had any ice cream. Even though they didn’t- him simply listening to his coworker talking to me and helping was noticed. He was very kind. Lindsey made wonderful drinks and mocktails for me. After I had the few off the menu she went out of her way to make me my own from flavors I like. Lindsey was so sweet and kind and the reason we frequented to hotel bar- we knew we would get good service and good drinks. Anytime we’re in San Diego we will continue to come here.

Nice hotel, loved the setup, the second floor deck was awesome and right outside my room! Quiet, easy to come and go, the valet was super helpful with my rental to allow me to store it briefly while I got settled! I would def stay here again. I enjoyed staying in the Gaslamp district!

Overall a nice hotel in a nice location. Great food all around it. A very safe feeling neighborhood. They have convenient valet service. We tried room service for one meal and it was good. We tried the breakfast downstairs and they have the basics. No issues.

If you are going to a conference at the convention center, this is the hotel to stay at. Very convenient. Rooms were clean, quiet, and modern. Staff is very helpful. Will stay here again when I am in San Diego again.

A great hotel with big comfortable rooms overlooking San Diego bay and Coronado island. I was at the front of the hotel so expected to be disturbed by traffic coming and going from the parking lot and other hotels nearby but this was really only a problem during the daytime so didn't disturb my sleep at all. The beds were comfy and the shower was good and hot, slightly lacking in water pressure though in my opinion. I also felt like for the price point the in room amenities (coffee maker etc) were a little below par for similar hotels I've stayed in. The pool and hot tub were nice but a little small, it quickly got crowded quite early on so if you want a swim or a relaxing soak in the hot tub get down there early or later in the afternoon. Great to have the airport so nearby too. I'll definitely be back if I need a hotel in San Diego.

Great experience. Lovely views but it was the staff I was so impressed with… Erich was so helpful and accommodating with shuttle lifts, helping me with bags and even later with sundries. He’s so friendly and I noticed he’d jump in whenever there was a need. Similarly, Will gave me some great tips including listening for the bugle at 8a at the base across the water (so cool) and he was so helpful. And, Michelle helped on the first day of the new software — I could tell it was not easy and she handled everything with grace and patience and kindness. And, I know it’s not easy when you have a new system. Great team! Nice hotel that I gladly recommend.

Fantastic hotel! Great location! Great views! Dropped our bags off way early and the hotel held them. They called me when our room was ready. Very nice people. Great view from the room. Downside is the airport shuttle isn't at specific times so we ended up keeping our car as they couldn't guarantee a shuttle would be available at a certain time.

Amazing views and so conviently located close to the airport with shuttle service. They were painting the room across the hall and fumes were strong but they changed our room immediately upon request. Courteous bike rental was a great way to take in the views in the morning...what a nice unexpected bonus! Will definitely stay here again if I visit this beautiful city again! So glad we started and ended our trip here and were able to stay near the airport and have such an incredible view with walking path along the water!

We had amazing service. They came to pick me up at the airport after I turned in my rental car the night before our flight out. There wasn’t a bellman immediately available to help with our luggage at check-in so one of the front staff took my bags up and wouldn’t accept a tip. Food and drinks at the restaurant were awesome all around. Room was perfect, great quality, morning shuttle got us to airport with no problems. Would stay here again if ever needed. Family loved it

I like being away from the chaos, a nice quiet spot with a gray view of the bay. We had really good food/room service from the restaurant. Easy check-in, everybody was very friendly and helpful. The property and rooms were in good shape, there's a market next door, so you don't really need to Door Dash, which is NICE. Our stay was very comfortable and chill.

Insanely beautiful location with convenient access to the airport and downtown San Diego as well as the piers and Harbor Island park. Impressive views of downtown and the naval base/warships. The staff is very friendly and the rooms are clean and spacious

This might be the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. The rooms were filthy and the showers were covered in rust. I didn't feel safe even sleeping in the best because of how the carpet and couches looked. There was visible stains on the couch as soon as I entered the room. This cannot be a 3 star hotel. Breakfast is not included despite the website saying so. A piece of paper posted to a window when you check in says that. The gym was closed. The laundry room was occupied 100% of the time. The night I stayed rained and there were 2 massive puddles I had to walk through to get to my room, there was no way around them and they covered your entire shoe. The location is good, the price is good and the parking is plentiful but that's about it. Would not recommend staying here.

Stayed here for one night. My bag went missing from my room. I called multiple times over the course of the next 3 days after I had checked out regarding my missing purse and was told multiple times that housekeeping had NOT found my purse. The purse was not “found” until 11 days later after I posted a negative review. The employees all gave me a different account of where and how it was found. I go pick up my purse and there was a $100 bill missing. Once I told the manager that this was missing he told me to not make accusations about his staff. To which I replied that $100 to me is not the end of the world but if it is to his staff then they can have it. The $100 was a gift from my mom before I left on a vacation. In addition, people don’t carry cash anymore so if I had a large amount of bills in my wallet I wouldn’t have noticed. I had a singular $100 bill in my wallet and it went missing after my purse was lost at Mission Inn & Suites. The manager accused me of lying. Again, I told him $100 bill is not enough of a reason for me to lie and create a fuss. I’ve never had an experience like this in my life. Be careful about leaving your belongings at this hotel because it’s clear they have thieves. Do not book here unless you want your purse to go missing for nearly 2 weeks and show back up missing money! Insane.

The location was great,,,,very central to everything. I liked the room size… it was larger than a lot of places I’ve stayed in San Diego. The desk clerks were friendly and helpful. There was plenty of parking close to my room. I have no complaints.

We booked for 8/29-9/1. The first night we checked in, at 11pm we woke up bit from BED BUGS! Bit in the face all over my body!! We had to fight for a refund! There were about 10 or more bed bugs crawling around the beds! This hotel is infested. Be careful. I do have pictures and videos

I stayed in a 1 bedroom suite with a living room etc. The couch was extremely filthy and beat up with literal stains and marks. So was the entire floor throughout the suite. It’s like the hotel doesn’t even care to replace it. The room smelled horrible like stale cigarette smoke and the small closet reeked of mold. I stayed to two days and woke up on the second day with my arm covered in bed bug bites! I also tried to use their in-room coffee dispenser which was disgusting and smelled so bad! The only upside is the location. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

I want to take the time to let the employees know what an outstanding job you do at this establishment 👏 the consistency with all your customer service is perfect! This is the main reason I continue to stay at this hotel for my 3-night stays. Santiago is always welcoming and a pleasure. Always accommodating with my small requests. The pool and jacuzzi are located at the end creating privacy. The rooms are kept clean. And if you need anything they're willing to go above and beyond to make your stay pleasant. Keep this up, you all are doing a great job. 🙂

Health hazard unacceptable We checked in on August 29th and had to check out the same night after being bitten all over by bed bugs. We immediately reported the incident to the front desk, only to be told there was no manager on duty or call. They offered to switch room, which we declined - we had children with us, and the situation was already unsafe and unacceptable. After a long back-and-forth, they finally agreed to issue a full refund. The front desk agent was visibly horrified after seeing the bites on my face and body and apologized, but the damage was already done. We asked for the corporate contact information, but were told to call back Monday to speak with the manger. An incident report was supposedly submitted. The experience was traumatic and completely avoidable. Customer health and safety are clearly not a priority at this location. We will never stay here again or at or any of their other properties. I strongly advise others to reconsider before booking.
