Quality Hotel Lakeside is a contemporary hotel located in the heart of Bendigo, offering straightforward rooms and refined apartments with views of Lake Weeroona. The property features an outdoor pool, garden, and complimentary Wi-Fi access. Guests can dine at the onsite restaurant and bar or take advantage of room service. The hotel is conveniently situated near Lake Weeroona Park, Bendigo Creek Streamside Reserve, and White Hills Sediments Geological Reserve.
Stop in for lunch today, I tried the chicken, cheese, and avocado toastie on sourdough, and it was simply delightful. The chips were cooked to perfection as well! The prices were quite reasonable for the quality of the meal. The staff were incredibly friendly too. I highly recommend it!

Great spot only a few moments drive from the main centre and directly across from the beautiful lake and coffee cart. Spacious, modern rooms that were exceptionally clean. Comfy bed and mattress. Quiet location also.
Miss M — Google review
I absolutely love the Lakeside Quality Motel in Bendigo! From the moment I arrived, the staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. The rooms are spotless, modern, and incredibly comfortable — everything you need for a relaxing stay. Waking up to views of Lake Weeroona is a real bonus, and the location is perfect — peaceful yet close to town. Whether you’re in Bendigo for business or a weekend away, this place feels like a home away from home. Highly recommend and will definitely be coming back! Make sure you ask for Zac!

Absolutely THE BEST hotel in the area. And THE BEST Restaurant!!! Visiting from America. These people were awesome! Entire staff was friendly, informative, welcoming, kind and caring. Facility CLEAN!!! Quiet environment, peaceful.
Christopher H — Google review
Advertisements show nicely fitted rooms. However in actuality they are very badly dated, tiny rooms. Poor water pressure in the shower, and fluctuates dramatically from ice cold to scalding hot. Location is the only thing going for it.
Jeremiah H — Google review
Extremely over priced for what we received as a consumer, no value for money here what so ever, $700 for two nights, one double bed and a sofa, no kitchen facilities only a kettle and cups, not much of a view where we were, we have stayed in much better for much less, On departure we were asked “did you use the water bottles out of the fridge?” (At $3.50 each for a small one, not a chance absolutely left me stunned with that one lmao), you would think at $350 per night they would be complimentary) there was No “how was your stay?” On leaving, I assumed you get what you pay for, not with this one, Pop corn anyone? No wait! No microwave either, i think they expect you to dine in their restaurant , we couldn't do that on our last $350 night as it was closed, fish n chips here we come, bring your own water, lucky we came prepared, We will Be back in Bendigo, loverly town, but wont be staying at this one hotel, value for the money is a 1 out of 5, room cleanliness 4 out of 5, complimentary water in the fridge 0 out of 5, reception water bottle question (tipped it over for us) priceless, To the suites that are in charge running this place! Yes we do expect value for what we pay for,
Bondy H — Google review
The restaurant food has wowed me - delicious and good size servings. Kudos to the chefs and the friendly wait staff. Very happy and full customer over here 🤗
Jasmine W — Google review
4 star hotel with 1 star quality, especially at $250.00 per night, little touches that just aren’t there for this to be a 4 star hotel such as stationary when a desk is supplied, a printed menu for room service (you need to read it from your phone) that’s not hotel quality/standard, but the worst thing by a mile was having another guest be able to enter my room because the reception staff allocated my room to another guest, who walked into my room, this is a clear breach of privacy and security, never got an apology from the staff, I won’t hold my breath.

2Best Western Crystal Inn

Discover the Best Western Crystal Inn, a relaxed accommodation option just 5 minutes from Bendigo's CBD. The inn offers 31 well-furnished rooms with Queen beds and luxurious bathrooms, as well as One Bedroom Apartments for extra space and cooking facilities. Enjoy amenities such as LCD televisions, limited FOXTEL channels, free Wi-Fi, ample work space, and small sitting areas.
Small issues but nothing major, large room and nice lady at reception. Comfy bed.. Small things to pick would be: -Wifi very slow, streaming on their tv kept buffering on prime. Cracks on spa bath inner tub, sticking up slightly but not sharp (yet) Carpet bit worn, patch size dinner plate near bathroom door. -lighting in wall way on second floor not existent, could be safety concern especially with no camera in that area from what I could see. For the money it is pretty good though as so many over charge and rooms are filthy which this one was clean and tidy.
Gash S — Google review
I am beyond frustrated with my experience at this hotel. I booked a room two months ago via their website, fully expecting everything to go smoothly. However, just 4 days before my check-in, I received a call from the receptionist informing me that they had to cancel my booking. The explanation was " sorry we've booked your room twice". How on earth can a computer/IT system get that wrong? To make matters worse, they didn’t even bother to help me find alternative accommodation! It’s incredibly unprofessional to cancel on a guest so close to their arrival date, especially without any effort to resolve the situation. I had already made plans and now had to scramble to find somewhere else to stay, which caused a lot of unnecessary stress. I won’t be booking here again, and I would strongly advise others to think twice before trusting them with your reservation. If they can cancel on you with zero notice, what else can you expect? Terrible service.
Joshua E — Google review
A good motel with large rooms and undercover parking. Staff were friendly and helpful. Furniture and decor is a little dated but clean. Location was about 5 minutes from Bendigo centre. Our room was towards the back of the motel and we had no road noise. I would definitely stay there again.
Tim W — Google review
Rooms are spacious and amenities provided were sufficient. Hotel staff at front desk was nice and the building itself is quiet pretty as well as being close to apco. all over just fine but all furniture was outdated and dusty, beds very uncomfortable and bathroom especially spa bath very old! I did not use the spa bath due to the bath being cracked and unclean. Towls dirty in bathroom as well as face washers. In general the room was not clean and when I walked in the smell was musty. Definetly not the worst place ive stayed but certainly not a place I'd write home about either.. just kind of meh.
V — Google review
I've been staying at the crystal inn on various occasions for over 30 years. It is out-dated, it needs a lot of work to bring it up to an acceptable standard. The spar bath is old cracked and not something I would not risk using. Breakfast is no longer offered. The carpet hasn't changed in the time I've been staying and it shows, I know this as I had the same carpet installed in 1994 in my home. It is not a place I could recommend or would stay again for the cost of the rooms. It has changed ownership since I last stayed. On the positive side, the staff are pleasant and friendly.
Geoff N — Google review
I panicked a bit on arrival. For someone with mobility issues, the thought of a flight of stairs fills me with dread! But no need for stress on that front. There is an elevator - just from the ground to the first floor! Who does that! Tick! The lower floor is the car park mostly by the look of it, and the first floor is the rooms: built around a courtyard which enclosed a large area to relax or to meet with a group. There is also a pool in this courtyard. The motel is situated on a main road with a servo next door, but neither were a concern. The room was great. Very spacious for a room for two. We weren’t tripping over each other as you do sometimes. The bathroom carried on the spacious theme. The shower recess was a revelation. So spacious. If you’ve brought a shower chair with you there is heaps of room. The only downside is noise echoing and bouncing around the courtyard. In a perfect world everyone would be courteous about the noise they make in a motel. There was obviously a group travelling together who were still calling to each other come midnight. (God bless the boss who might have foreseen this eventuality and put us down the end!). But honestly, it was like an episode of The Waltons. (Sorry, showing my age!). Good night, Sue Ellen. Good night John Boy. Aaargh! Go to sleep already! Fortunately they didn’t start too early the next morning. I know such inconsideration is not the fault of the motel, but maybe a look at the acoustics might be a good idea down the track. Oh and to the parents who were up early to hit the road, your child might be very sweet, but letting them tear up and down outside the rooms is not! Venting aside, if all I have to grizzle about is room acoustics then I’m doing pretty well. I don’t know where the reviews grumping about cleanliness came from. Our room was neat as a pin, and sparkling clean. Shower pressure was great, and so nice to be able to plug in a phone at bedside and not on the other side of the room. This will be my go-to for Bendigo visits in the future. Highly recommend.
Kitty K — Google review
OK don't let the exterior fool you or the car park. It may look a bit old and a concrete jungle but the rooms are very spacious. We had a late check-in and they were so helpful and had everything ready. The service while there was great. Staff saying good morning and hello . Very approachable. Being next an Apco is very handy. Definitely a great place to stay in Bendigo. Walking distance to a pub.

TLDR: PROS: Relatively quiet. Room was good enough. CONS: Likely issue with fire alarm system (not working?). Chemicals easily accessible by children. Advertised cot is actually a bassinet. Money grabbing principles by staff who wouldn’t accept their mistake. Full review: We pre-booked a room and asked for a cot, a separate and additional $20 charge. When we arrived we found the cot was in fact a bassinet and we did not opt to use it since it was too small for our child and therefore useless. We decided to try using sofa bed which was already in the room and were provided some sheets by the staff. When asking for a refund for the cot order they declined and suggested the sofa bed was not included in our booking price and that’s where the $20 charge went towards (even though the sofa bed was already in the room). Nothing wrong with the place, however I’m giving it 1 star because I disagree with the money grabbing principles and lack of acknowledging their clear blunder. Best Western Crystal Inn stuffed up by stating they had a cot when in fact they did not, now I’m left with a child who’s to young to sleep on a bed and will suffer the consequences (see: terrible sleep). Own your mistakes, refund us the $20. Most other places would be apologetic. Also, there’s a water leak near the front door of room 4, FYI, which is making the interior carpet soggy. I also noticed the fire alarm system lights are flashing and indicating there is currently a fire, but no alarm ringing. I suspect there is a fault in the system and even wonder if it would alert occupants in the event of a fire. I will report there beyond the hotel management. Additionally, the Store room was left open and unlocked and chemicals were easily accessible by a child. This store room should be locked, I will also report this beyond hotel management.

After a long drive and hiking, a parma and beer were needed. The bistro was perfect for this. I had the HSP Parma and it was excellent. Nice chips, chicken perfect. My vegetarian partner had the lasagna and was very happy too. Will be back for sure.

Clean, neat and comfortable accommodation. The location is great and easy to find. The reception, staff and service were good too. Beds and linens were neat and very comfortable to sleep in. Bathrooms were spotless. Very happy to recommend it. I will definitely return when in Bendigo.
Jess E — Google review
National Hotels' best asset is its staff. Welcoming, friendly and helpful. Every interaction with staff, from hotel reception to the bistro and bar staff, was most pleasurable. The room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. We look forward to staying again.

5 stars all round. It's a big venue! This place has a great family atmosphere where the food and beverages are great. The staff are always friendly, easy-going, they are an awesome crew. Toilets are always clean and well-maintained. I'd recommend everyone and anyone to definitely treat yourself at the National. The parking lot is decent, but the venue is very popular, so it can get full up, but it's easy to find a free space.
Sharon M — Google review
We just LOVE staying at the National — can’t recommend it highly enough. We regularly visit family and always book there first (if they have availability — highly recommend to book well in advance! The staff are very professional and care about their guests. The meal at Bistro and the Main bar is as good as you’ll get!!
Jason J — Google review
Had dinner there and had the Beef Cheeks, mash potato needs a bit more, felt it was a bit plain, extra Garlic and salt, mash it slightly longer would of helped still had slight lumps wasn’t creamy, beef cheeks perfectly tender, also felt the sauce could be a bit richer. Over all staff were great, meal was nice was just expecting little more flavour and a richer red wine dew. Great atmosphere and a nice hotel. If I could give 4.5 I would.

We have stayed here on two occasions and plan to return next year. The facilities and staff are absolutely fantastic. It makes it so easy for us while away from home on a work trip because they have a bistro attached to the accomodation service. The food is of a great standard and the staff are welcoming and efficient. We feel very lucky to have found this gem. Thank you for making our lives a little bit easier at a busy time.

We loved our stay at the National Hotel Complex. Dinner at the bistro was great value and delicious, as was breakfast the following day. We stayed in one of the spa rooms. The spa was exactly what we needed after a tough few weeks at work. The bed was super comfortable with plenty of room to stretch out and the pillows and bedding were plush and luxurious. We left feeling very relaxed and rejuvenated.

With 77 suites available, including poolside suites, family villas, executive apartments, and deluxe spa rooms with private balconies or courtyards, guests can find comfortable and affordable lodging options.
My partner and I stayed here for our anniversary. Ultimate relaxing stay, was right across from the sauna, spa and pool. Which the facilities were maintained to the highest standard and temperatures maintained well. Staff in both the bistro and reception are absolutely amazing and well accommodating with plenty of personality. The bistro was too good of a value for money to pass up. 10 dollar lunch menu is no bluff it’s got full sized lunch menu with decent offerings. Room service was executed well also. 10/10 would recommend to all my friends and we have already booked our next stay.
Kade C — Google review
There is much to like here, the facilities are good with a pool and sauna etc. The rooms whilst clean were sparse and I really think overpriced to be honest. Also beware the floor on my shower was a little slippery. There was no noise issues so slept quite well. But it is a fair way away from anywhere to eat or go for a glass of wine so you will have to hop in your car (or taxi/uber) or just use the onsite bistro and bar. Same if you want to go to the main part of Bendigo and the traffic is quite heavy. There is a Sportsbar/gaming/bistro onsite with some good food and nightly special prices (Happy Hour is a good time to grab that beer). There was however nowhere to sit and have a glass of wine or beer or whatever you fancy other than the Sportsbar, which I was a little surprised about.
Erica S — Google review
We really enjoyed our 1 nighter. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The pool area is fantastic and can be enjoyed all year round. Big shout to the receptionists who were really friendly and helpful.

I just wanted to say thank you for the wonderful service and facilities at your hotel. This was the first time I have stayed at all seasons and it was a wonderful experience. From the first check in where I was greeted by a lovely friendly young lady to the wonderful rooms you offer. The bed and pillows were fantastic, and the shower was elite. Instant hot water and lots of it. I ate in the restaurant on Monday evening and the food was excellent. Your gym, sauna and pool were a welcome bonus. Thank you it makes business travel so much better when you have something nice to come back to after a long day.
Derek B — Google review
If there was zero or minus 5 starts I would give that. Staff have attitude, can’t get orders right, can’t cope with crowds and then get shitty. You order almond you get soy and they don’t tell you if you don’t watch them making your coffee! Highly dangerous for people with allergies. Managers don’t care. Absolutely can’t recommend. You’re better off eating at maccas and sleeping in a tent.
Stephanie W — Google review
We came for the $10 lunch menu for the second time and it did not disappoint the best schnitzel I have had in a while and decent size meals too only thing I had a problem with was that you have to have the salad full of onion there is no choice for veggies and I had to pay an extra $2 for the smallest cup of gravy to exist. Other than that the food was great but maybe hold off on the huge amount of onion in your salads
Jade W — Google review
It's out of the city so if you want to go anywhere you'll need to drive. Rooms are clean and service is great. Bit expensive for room stays which is why I stopped coming here as cheaper in town. Has pub that serves breakfast lunch and dinner. Also has pokies if you like a gamble.
Terri R — Google review
We were travelling back to Melbourne and called in for lunch on a Monday. Quite busy for the start of the week. They have $10 lunch specials with around 5 to choose from. I had the Chicken Snitzel, it came with chips and salad, no gravy. But it was very nice and a great size. If I recall these lunch specials are on most days of the week. For an Entree I had Garlic Bread $5 and Dessert Apple Bites and Ice Cream $5. The meals came out in very quick fashion. The staff were friendly and service was great. Well worth a visit when stopping in Bendigo or passing through.

We had such a positive experience from the booking, to being greeted through to departure. Recently refurbished room (& bathroom) was fresh, clean and spacious. Perfectly presented & had all the modern conveniences. Also nice & quiet - no traffic noise. The bed was very comfortable, and a nice size. Well located, across the road from the lake and a short walk to a great selection of hotels & cafes. Highly recommended

I checked into this hotel late on Sunday evening after some other accomodation turned out not to be suitable. Despite the late hour, owner Brent was happy to book me in for 3 nights at a very reasonable rate. I also ended up moving a colleague in here the next day and she has been very happy with her stay as well. I found the room to be extremely comfortable and well equipped. In fact it reminded me of what country motels used to be like when I was growing up. The motel is run by owner opearators who obviously take great pride in the property. I really can not recommend the Tea House Motor Inn highly enough and will certainly be back next time I head up to Bendigo.
Cameron H — Google review
Great room with microwave and fridge etc. The bathroom had been renovatedand and was lovely. The bed was so comfortable and the huge pillows were fantastic. The pool looked great however I didn't get to use it. The location is sensational, directly across from Lake Weeroona. Would highly recommend.
Paula A — Google review
We needed accomodation as the pre booked motel had lost our booking. I chose Tea House for its location and presentation. Explaining our predicament the receptionist looked for other options for us all over Bendigo, but there were none to be had. I took the unit available and required an extra bed, which she was able to organise. We really enjoyed our stay it was new and roomy enough for the 5 of us. This lady went the extra mile for us and it was worth it. Thanks for your help and I know that next time we are in Bendigo we will be booking there.
Mike R — Google review
Great rooms ( king spa ) very clean, ( spotless) super comfortable beds and good sized lounge area it all comes with a great welcome & customer service with a smile. Worth everyone of the 5 stars. Easy access to the rooms with off street parking and you can even take a stroll around the lake just across the road. It's a short drive or a longer walk to the CBD where you can explore everything Bendigo has to offer.
Dave P — Google review
Absolutely great place to stay, Barb was very welcoming and helpful. The rooms were spacious and modern with everything you would expect and more (free wifi and a TV that you can use for streaming etc). Also, the room was spotless, as was the entire place. Although I didn't use it, the pool looked lovely! Sadly just a 1 night stay, but I would certainly pick this over anywhere else to stay in Bendigo.
Jay C — Google review
We recently had a great stay here- rooms are so clean and large, nicely decorated and understated, beds and pillows so comfortable and actual warm blankets instead of flimsy cheap quilts which they usually have at big hotels where you pay more. Nice lady at reception, on the ball with checking us in. Tidy grounds - would be great in summer when the pool is up and running. Centrally located, train line nearby but I couldn’t hear it when my window was closed, so slept really well.
Silvana A — Google review
Lovely location situated across from the lake - makes for a nice evening stroll. Rooms are well presented, neat and tidy. Staff are warm, welcoming and prompt in their service delivery. My family enjoyed the bbq and pool facilities. Many restaurants within walking proximity. Hoping to return to the tea house annually with my family. Thank you Jody.

Conveniently located just 900m from Bendigo, the hotel is adjacent to Rosalind Park and close to attractions like Bendigo Bowling Centre and The Capital. The air-conditioned guest rooms feature modern amenities while retaining the historical charm of the Victorian building built in 1854.
We stayed in a small standard room which was perfect for what we needed. Reception and bar staff were warm, friendly and funny. Aswell as incredibly helpful. This entire place has so much character and charm. The ambient sounds of the traffic going past didn't bother us and reminded us our city stay in London. Great coffee and breakfast. Heritage hotel in the best location. We stayed 2 nights, the room was clean & warm, great bathroom, the staff were friendly, readily accessible and helpful. We loved the grandeur & sense of history. Yes areas of the building are showing their age. Some of the furnishings are slightly worn and yes we needed to park off site, in the secure parking area which was just a short walk to the Shamrock hotel, but all in all a great stay! The dinning area, was clean, the staff members working there were helpful, happy and friendly. We enjoyed a choice of breakfast each morning and had an enjoyable dinner there. We look forward to returning.

Loved my stay at Hotel Shamrock! The building itself is stunning with its vintage architecture, right in the centre of Bendigo so you can walk everywhere. The rooms were comfy and had that nice heritage vibe, and the restaurant food was really good too. Staff were super friendly and the whole place just has a great old-school charm. Perfect spot if you’re planning a Bendigo trip!

Stunning heritage hotel in awesome location. Very clean & warm room, great bathroom, excellent staff. Outstanding housekeeping. Great ambience. Loved the colonial grandeur & sense of history. Some of the room furnishings slightly worn but still a great stay! Thank you very much! I look forward to returning

Extremely disappointing experience for $200 per night on a work trip. Was provided a room not in the actual hotel but ushered to one around the side that had direct street access. It appeared to be an old shop that had been made into a room with 1990s decor. The room was extremely noisy, drafty and felt very exposed to street level. Every truck, bus, car and pedestrian was audible and unsettling. There was not desk to work on. Totally overpriced and outright dated. Was a 2 star motel at best. An absolute rip off and would not recommend.

An outstanding heritage building - a significant part of the colonial streetscape of Bendigo. The centrality of its location is a very important aspect of the property. The staff were very friendly, helpful and courteous and made us feel very welcome. The restaurant food was excellent, as was the service. The facilities were good - the room spacious and quiet. Parking was conveniently located and very reasonably priced. The only comment one can make is that the old lady is now a bit tired in places - the last major refit was in the early 1980s and this is starting to show - but otherwise, a great place.

Didn't stay in the hotel, but visited for dinner. It was a reservation with a large group of people. All the facilities were run down, menu's very much need updating. Tried ordering the apple crumble but was told they no longer served it and instead they had the apple Danish. I'm surprised they hadn't even crossed out on the menus and just let customers think they have it. Waitress wasn't overly friendly either. I ordered the Parma for dinner and it was average, a bit dry and bland. I was expecting good things from the place, I've never been before but from what I've heard it has/had a good reputation. I'm not sure what happened but it unfortunately didn't live up to the hype tonight.

Booked a table for a large group (25) on a Saturday night for dinner at 7pm. When we arrived around 6:45, they’d only set aside a table for around half of the number we’d booked for, and had to try and rearrange to fit us all in. The food wasn’t great - Pasta dishes were fairly bland and the roast was a small portion, but on the plus side the cheesy garlic bread was a hit, as were the apple crumble and brownies on the dessert menu. At 9pm we were asked to move into the sports bar as the bistro was closing. We had around 12 of us left at that stage, and were looking to continue drinking and talking for at least another hour or two. However two of our members were u18 and were told they couldn’t enter the sports bar. We all had drinks in hand that we’d purchased in the bistro and were standing in the foyer being told we couldn’t reenter the bistro cause it was closing, but we couldn’t all move to the sports bar due to the two who were u18. Security then told we had to move from the foyer as weren’t allowed to stay there - even though we just wanted to finish our drinks before leaving the venue. It was very akward and the security guard made us feel like we’d done something wrong. Some of our party ended up abandoning their drinks to leave the venue, while some moved into the sports bar to finish their drinks before they also left. It wasn’t a very nice ending to the night.

The Mercure Bendigo Schaller offers a colourful, creative hub with art classes, tours and supplies of Mark Schaller’s vibrant artwork. It’s located 15 minutes from the restaurants, shops and art precinct of Bendigo and feels like a home away from home. The Pantry downstairs has all-day cafe dining.
We are a family of 4(2 adults and 2 children) and the staff was very accommodating with our room requests to be next to each other. The check in and check out was easy, the rooms were clean, the hotel was close to Bendigo main tourist attractions. Will stay again!

A very enjoyable stay , the art really adds to the experience. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. The website advertises " vegetarian options" but it's really slim pickings if you want a vegetarian dinner. The room has plates and cutlery for two and microwave but only one chair, so it's not at all comfortable to eat a takeaway. Gym is well-equipped

Missed the entrance and was confused by overflow parking options. Very limited accessible parking options. Tiny but functional room with soft mattress and usb charging ports. Good breakfast. Very clean and tidy.

We were greeted by professional staff who checked us in within a matter of minutes. The room and view were great! Comfortable, clean, fully appointed and with a balcony! We dined downstairs on a number of occasions during our stay. Everything was truly hospitable. I know we'll be back for another special occasion.

A wonderful family stay yet again at this very pleasant hotel in the heart of Bendigo. The staff go over & above to ensure you have everything you need during your stay. Young & older staff were very well trained in hospitality - a rarity today. It's clean, modern & a plus if you're an Accor Member. Nothing is a problem! Can't wait for our next visit.

Great location, a little walk into Bendigo centre for parks, restaurants, pubs and live music. Clean and cosy. Staff were welcoming and had all the little quirky touches of a luxury night away. Including complementary bikes to explore the town. Bedrooms were a little too cosy and would have liked enough space to roll out a yoga mat to do morning stretches and beds were a little too saggy to be comfortable after a day of walking or riding. 'Free movies' were unavailable when attempted to watch on TV. Room was clean and the art work added a joyful essence to the stay. Lounge area was comfortable, and check out of 11am was appreciated.

I needed a place to rest for a few days and the Bendigo Schaller was perfect! From the minute I arrived, Ella, summed up my situation and made sure I was going to be well looked after. The room was small but effective and well-equipped for my needs. Free in-house movies and comprehensive TV options were much appreciated. Wifi was more than adequate. Decor is bright and cheerful without being tacky, Food and dining was good but inconsistent.

The Heritage Motel Bendigo offers comfortable and clean rooms with free Wi-Fi, as well as an outdoor pool and a barbecue area. Centrally located in Bendigo, it's within walking distance of attractions like the Bendigo Talking Tram and Central Deborah Gold Mine. The motel also provides amenities such as a garden, express check-out, dry cleaning services, and luggage storage. Guests can enjoy a relaxing time by the pool and receive helpful assistance from the friendly owners.
They Truly Cared – A Stay We’ll Never Forget This was so much more than just a place to stay — it was an experience filled with warmth, kindness, and genuine care. From the moment we arrived, the owners went out of their way to make sure we felt comfortable, welcomed, and looked after. It was clear in every little detail how much they truly cared — not just about their motel, but about us as guests. Whether it was checking in to see if we needed anything, offering help without us even asking, or simply taking the time to chat and make us feel at home — their generosity and thoughtfulness meant the world. You don’t often come across people who pour their heart into what they do the way these owners do. They made us feel like more than guests — like family. We left feeling so grateful and touched by their kindness. If you’re looking for a stay that’s clean, comfortable, and run by people who genuinely care, this is the place. We can’t thank them enough — and we’ll absolutely be back.

The afternoon we arrived, the motel was almost booked out, on arrival the manager's couldn't have been nicer and more helpful. The rooms were superb clean and virtually sound proof. The motel is located on the main road and I am a very light sleeper, I didn't hear any traffic noise. The following morning I had a brief chat with one of the house maids, she was a lovely friendly lady. I would definitely recommend staying at this motel.
Bronwyn C — Google review
Clean and tidy, comfortable rooms. Also, quiet. I did not hear cars or other people staying even though the place was fully booked. All encounters with staff were lovely. We let them know we had a bub coming, but I didn't realise they would pop a porta cot in. Which I was grateful for as I'd left mine behind. It was very cold outside, but we did not notice overnight as the heater worked great. Our only issue was nighttime when trying to settle the kids with a movie. The TV/WiFi kept slowing down to the point that we could not watch it. I'd recommend this place.

I pulled in here on a cold, rainy evening for a work overnighter. I received a very friendly and warm welcome from the male at reception. He was very helpful. Room was large, clean and very comfortable. The in house breakfast was basic, but very good, and meant I could get on with business straight away. Would stay again for sure.

Would never recommend this hotel to anyone. Rang a few weeks prior to staying to cancel. On the day of reservation were told the rooms were still booked and had not been cancelled. Was called a liar on the phone saying I never cancelled though my husband heard me that I cancelled them. Was told would get a full refund if room resold. Room was resold and only giving a half refund. The man on the phone was extremely rude. No customer service at all. So they kept half of my money and then rebooked the room at full price to another person. Complete ripoff. To call a person a liar etc is diagusting.

Very friendly owner lady, other workers not as great. Check in late as room wasn't finished being cleaned til 3pm but then woken up around 8am by the non stop sound of cleaning trolleys n buckets out front for well over an hour . Was blamed for cleaning lady locking our bathroom door when we were out came back with 3 busting kids no apologies just blame even on them somehow . Toilet roll holder broke was blamed for that too . Liked it here at first but not now won't be coming back will be checking out a day early

Bendigo Art Gallery is a must-visit for art enthusiasts, offering a diverse range of visual arts exhibits from both regional and international artists spanning various eras. The gallery features an impressive collection of 19th-century European and Australian art. As part of this year's program, the gallery is hosting an all-ages workshop called The Big Draw, where participants can engage in the activity to Draw a Futuristic Gallery.
Travelled from Melbourne to see the Frida Khalo exhibition. Well worth the trip. The exhibition was extensive and very well curated. Plenty of other things to see and do in Bendigo, if you have the time. Plenty of art galleries, street art, historical buildings from the Gold Rush era, Chinese cultural heritage, great shops and wonderful cafes.
Devorah V — Google review
Our primary reason for visiting the Gallery was to experience the Frida Kahlo exhibition and it didn't disappoint 😍 we spend 2hrs wandering with our eyes fixed on every single exhibit. An absolutely wonderful Gallery with so very much on offer to see, regardless of whether you are interested or not. Just do it!!!

Judy is a lovely tour guide! She taught me about the history of the painting and artist, and stories about what the painting is about. She showed me a lot of details I wouldn't have picked up and I'll be paying more attention to art from now on.

I've heard such wonderful things about the Bendigo Art Gallery and have been meaning to visit for ages. The exhibitions always sound so interesting and well-curated, drawing in people from all walks of life. I particularly love seeing how they celebrate local artists and showcase diverse perspectives.

Visited a few years ago when it was the Elvis Exhibition. What a wonderful Gallery and immaculately presented. Despite being a busy afternoon session, everyone was friendly, gave each other room to take photos and admire the King of Rock n Roll. A true asset to Bendigo.
Normandy J — Google review
I love this place, I could just sit and enjoy every brushstroke. There are so many massive paintings, and each one is absolutely beautiful.
G M — Google review
Bendigo Art Gallery is reason enough to make the trip up the Calder. Housed in a graceful heritage building seamlessly blended with a sleek contemporary extension, it feels both historic and fresh. High-ceilinged rooms flood with natural light, while clever architecture guides you from grand 19th-century spaces to crisp, modern galleries without a hitch. Curation is top-class for a regional institution. The permanent Australian collection gives real depth. How about thinking of Heidelberg School landscapes in one room and bold contemporary works in the next, yet the blockbuster touring shows are what really shine. Whether it’s fashion icons, photography retrospectives or pop-culture tributes, the gallery consistently punches above its weight, drawing crowds that rival big-city institutions. Labels are informative without lecturing, and there’s always a thoughtfully placed bench or two so you can linger over a favourite piece. Practical touches round out the experience: friendly staff happy to chat about works, an airy café with excellent coffee and local bites, and a well-stocked shop that goes beyond generic souvenirs. The whole visit feels welcoming rather than stuffy, making it easy to lose a couple of hours in art-driven bliss. Five stars from me! Bendigo Art Gallery sets the gold standard for regional culture in Victoria.
Le G — Google review
Although it doesn’t feature works of renowned painters, it has a small but well curated collection that reflects Bendigo’s colonial history, showcasing pieces from local collectors and lesser-known Australian artists.

Step into the thrilling and adrenaline-pumping adventure of Central Deborah Gold Mine, a real gold mine that operated during Bendigo's gold rush boom. Visitors can experience what life was like for miners in the 1900s as they descend over 60 meters underground, exploring tunnels and historic mining equipment. The tour includes a visit to heritage-listed buildings such as the Blacksmiths Shop, First Aid Room, Carbide Lamp Room, and Engine Room.
Fantastic! Our family loved this experience! The mine tour with Nathan was so interesting and even kept the kids (13 & 10) engaged throughout! Being 61m underground is pretty cool (and always 14 degrees- so bring a jacket). The surface museum was also interesting, and the panning was great- the kids really loved finding the gems, the parents enjoyed the gold! Highly recommend!
Nicolle M — Google review
It was a great experience visiting the Central Deborah Gold Mine in Bendigo. It operated from 1939 to 1954 to a depth of 422 metres. It yielded 929 Kg of gold from its mining operations. The best part was going 61m underground with a hard hat ON to see how the gold mine workers worked in those days and how gold was mined from there. The tour guides were quite knowledgeable and kept everyone engaged throughout the tour. The Surface tour is a great way to know more about the gold mine and how things operated back in the days. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Bendigo.

We did the underground mine tour, with Graham, it was great!! He gave us lots of really good info but it was still fun. It was so surprisingly wheelchair accessible! They really had thought of everything we felt really comfortable with everything. All the staff were actually really friendly and helpful, and a good shop!

Going underground at the Central Deborah Gold Mine was an unforgettable experience. The tour guides were fantastic, explaining the history and stories of the miners. It’s both fun and eye-opening — a must-do if you want to really dive into Bendigo’s gold rush past.

Absolutely worth a visit to this fab centre, our tour guide (nathan) was superb and we he learnt so much about what life as a miner really was like. Sadly we didn’t come away with any gold nuggets but we did come away with a lot of the educational type and they’re priceless !! We booked the first tour - 10am, then took the ‘talking tram’ into town for lunch. Thoroughly recommend you doing that too if you have time

Everyone except for me thought this was going to be boring, they were all wrong. The underground mine tour was awesome and very informative. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. He made everyone comfortable and answered all questions thrown at him. A must-see/do if in Bendigo.

Huge thanks to Nathan, our amazing guide for the 61M Underground Experience! His passion, energy, and deep respect for people from all backgrounds made the tour unforgettable. It wasn’t just a journey underground — it was a journey of reflection. Nathan encouraged us to think about the people behind the mining industry, to appreciate life, and to treat others with kindness. Thank you, Nat!

Situated in the business district, it's within walking distance of Lake Weeroona and Tramways Museum. Spotless, comfortable and very convenient. Couldn't fault a thing! We had the family room which was very spacious and well laid out. Car spot right out the front door. All basic facilities were there - toaster, kettle with tea/coffee/biscuits, iron with board, shampoo/conditioner/etc.. and there's a restaurant on-site too. All the rooms have a view & access to the central garden with an outdoor pool - and you're directly opposite the lovely lake. We'd definitely stay here again!

The rooms were huge and very clean. Facilities were excellent with everything you need even for a long stay. The location was lovely, right opposite the lake which has a great walking track and playground. The restaurant was nice and service was always with a smile. Highly recommend.

This accommodation is set in a beautiful location opposite the lake, and not too far from the Bendigo CBD. The rooms are slightly older but have been well maintained and are kept clean. We booked the two bedroom suite and it was well appointed for up to 4 people (two singles in one room, and a queen bed in the main room). The hotel has an enclosed grass and pool area too, so is good for travelling with family and kids. Would definitely return if coming back to Bendigo in the future

Very comfy beds, spacious and very clean rooms. Great location opposite the lake. A little noisy with the train line, but very nice place to stay. Room had an odd smell in it, but wasn't bad. Would be good if microwave was in your room, but there is one available in the free laundry.

With two outdoor pools, a hot tub, and even Bendigo's largest indoor play center, kids will have endless fun! The park features comfortable cabins and villas that cater to various needs, including powered sites for caravans and camper trailers.
Not rating room as we stayed on a powered site. Amazing holiday park, 3 adults and 5 kids well stayed there 4 nights. Kids had a ball and we enjoyed our entire trip Staff was lovely and amazing to deal with.. highly recommended

Great park. Well set out however reception could have a bit better signage upon entry, we didn't see any obvious sign pointing up to reception because it's already such a colourful area with a lot of signs, maybe a painting on the road with Reception this way would be handy for those who havnt been before. Other than that it's a fantastic park. Ensuite sites are very practical and modern facilities. Family room in the main amenities that had a bath which was great for our youngest. The play centre is a fantastic addition and a great way to wear the kids out! A very family friendly park. It is close to a main road however the road noise wasn't really noticeable at night. The park is also located quite close to a shopping centre that has plenty of food options and supermarkets. Highly recommend this park if your travelling with kids to Bendigo.
Kerryn E — Google review
We stayed here on the weekend. The park is excellent for kids and our kids had a great time. We choose the park due to how child friendly it is. Our kids loved the play centre. The bed in our cabin was super comfy and the pillows were great I was pleasantly surprised. There was even a coffee can there on Sunday morning! We will definitely be back again, our kids are already demanding it.
Harriete N — Google review
We had a lovely stay in a classic cabin. The cabin was quite new and very comfortable. The on site play centre was a hit with my 5 and 6yo as was the jumping pillow and spa (bit cold for the pool still). This is a very family friendly place. We will definitely be back. I always travel with earplugs which helps with any noise. The WiFi was not able to be connected to, I would say this was the proximity of our cabin to the office. I got a telstra sim and we used that for our internet during the trip (Vodafone is non-existent once you head out of the city area).
Carly S — Google review
We got a glamping pod for an overnight stay. It was lovely. The bed was soft and comfy, the bathroom was tiny, but clean and the water pressure was awesome. Check in and out was seamless and easy. Thanks for a lovely stay
Jayne B — Google review
Our stay at BIG4 Park Lane Bendigo was very disappointing, and I would not recommend it. We stayed here on 28/09/2025. The cabin was clean enough, but the sofa had stains which was not a great first impression. We stayed in a premium cabin and it is complete with amenities however it is not child friendly. Many sharp edges and wooden furniture. The park does have plenty of amenities, but most of them are dirty, run-down, and in need of proper maintenance. The play centre in particular was filthy and unsafe in parts — clearly neglected. The worst part, however, was the customer service. We arrived for the 2pm check-in as advertised on their own website, only to be told our room wasn’t ready. Staff tried to defend themselves by saying check-in is “from 2pm” and that they had “32 rooms to clean.” That is not the guest’s problem. If you can’t manage cleaning on time, hire more staff. Guests should not be left waiting for rooms when you advertise a clear check-in time. And no, guests don’t get to check out “from 10am” — it’s strict and enforced. The double standard is ridiculous. To make things worse, the maintenance staff were flat-out rude. When my family went to use the pool at 9am, we were told we couldn’t because he was cleaning it and to come back in 30 minutes. This was said in an unhelpful and dismissive manner. Why on earth is pool cleaning scheduled during the one hour guests have before check-out? It’s inconsiderate, poor planning, and ruins the experience. Overall, this park hides behind its long list of amenities, but the reality is poor cleanliness, substandard facilities, and shockingly bad customer service. The lack of professionalism and the rude attitude of staff completely overshadowed any positives.

We arrived late after closing time and they accommodated us with keys in a afterhours box. The site was easy to get our long caravan into. The office staff were very friendly and helpful. This kids play area is great and they have an indoor area too for the kids Highly recommend this place

The space was sensational. We travelled with our Mum so the two bedrooms with two. Bathrooms were essential. The space had everything we needed. It wasn’t near the centre of the city , however it was an easy drive and probably a 25 minute walk. Washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, oven, stove - could cast to TV. Everything is here. Staff member is wonderful. Need a rubber mat in the shower/bath.

Stayed one night which was to long parking was very very tight if you have a large vehicle dont even bother and even though you pay almost $500 for 2 adjoining rooms we were not guaranteed a parking spot unless we returned from our function before 10pm as Matt in reception finished his shift at that time and he would give us his space . The rooms were dusty , beds were hard , split systems were temperamental , no streaming services unless you log into your own accounts , we ran out of toilet paper and had to buy our own , had to rinse the bath and showers prior to use , marks and dints in walls, water from shower bypassed the floor drain and went into the kitchenette if we didn't put towels at the door. Wife had to adjust feet under the main fridge as it would lean forward when the door was opened I'm sorry buy I really can't say anything positive other than Matt at reception. Place looks nice from outside but inside everything seems to be run down which is a shame

My stay at Quest Bendigo Central was absolutely spectacular! From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the cleanliness, comfort, and modern feel of the accommodation. What truly set this experience apart, however, was the warm welcome and exceptional service I received from one of their outstanding team members, Harshil. From check-in to check-out, Harshil went above and beyond to make sure I felt right at home. There were safes, irons, extra blankets, takeaway lists with scan codes, kitchen with stove, microwave, fridge, a tv, balcony… plenty! Even a washer and dryer within the apartment! The quality of most things and age of it was a bit old, but it was really only the soft bendy plastic toilet seat that was irritating. The pool also looked a bit scary in the rainy weather. There were carparks under shelter and it’s a place we’d be pleased to stay at again!

We stayed here for 3 nights recently. The bed was large and comfy, the shower strong and hot, but got water all over the bathroom floor, soaking the bath mat and making the floor very slippery. The bathroom door wouldn't close properly either because of the water damage. The undercover carpark was extremely cramped, even people with a small hatch back had to take several goes to get in, our car is a large ute over 5m long, so took forever to get in. As the motel is 20 mins walk from all the good restaurants, and it was freezing, we left our car where it was & grabbed a taxi. On a Friday and Saturday night you'll likely lose your carpark if you go out too! The motel reception was very friendly and helpful.

Rooms are very small. Beds are uncomfortable. Car park very tight.Mould in the bathroom. Room dusty in parts. Price of rooms varies markedly depending on the website or direct call. Many better places in Bendigo that offer cheaper rates & better service. I have just read the most absurd response from management regarding my review. The response is a cut & paste to previous criticisms from other guests. There has been no attempt to address the issues raised . Last year I stayed at the Quest - the bed was very very uncomfortable. I complained & was advised a replacement program was underway. This year more issues as per my review. No attempt to address the issues from a returning guest. To people contemplating the Quest good luck… it is a throw of the dice.

We stayed for one night before heading out to Mildura. I am very fussy with clean rooms and my husband knows this! This motel was very clean , the bed was so comfortable after our very long day/drive! We had the most restful sleep. Booking was easy and responsive, check out the same. Highly recommend Central Deborah Motel.

Great location with a number of good food joints within an east walking distance and supermarket 5 min walk. Owner was friendly/helpful. Rooms are very clean and a great size with good amenities. Decent coffee supplied which is always worth a star on its own 😂 Grounds are peaceful and tidy. Be happy to stay here every time I need to visit Bendigo.

Nestled in the heart of Bendigo, City Centre Motel offers a relaxed and inviting atmosphere for travelers seeking comfort and convenience. The motel features spacious rooms, some equipped with kitchenettes and balconies that provide a lovely view. Guests rave about the modern amenities, including luxurious bathrooms and comfortable beds that ensure a restful stay. Just a short stroll away from local attractions like the Bendigo Art Gallery, this location is perfect for exploring the vibrant city center while enjoying a peaceful retreat at night.
We chose this Motel owing to the EV charging available and prime position in the middle of town. It was easy to find, parking (and EV charging) was faultless and we were blown away by the spaciousness of the room, together with a King-size bed. The kitchenette was suited to warming up things in the microwave, and everything was very clean. The decor was perhaps a bit dated as others have said, but everything was in good order and well maintained. Any extra plates/cutlery we needed we were given by the friendly reception staff. It was nice and quiet at night even though it seemed fully booked.

Location is great, staff are very friendly and helpful. We booked one of the cheaper older rooms which was still perfectly fine, two beds, TV, fridge, bathroom. Fridge door was a bit creaky though, might need some WD40. Sadly the old 70s radio in the bed head no longer worked either. Besides that rooms were fairly well sound proofed and dark at night, plenty of parking, complementary fresh milk, decent sized TV. Again the location is perfect, walking distance to the centre of town and the cheaper rooms are great value. Would definitely stay here again but now curious about what I'm missing in the more expensive rooms. Sadly didn't take a photo of the room so have attached an interesting photo taken from across the road from the motel.

Lovely clean and spacious room with King bed that was super comfy. Our only comment was that the chairs for the table showed signs of wear, otherwise, very happy with our choice. Lovely hospitality with great breakfasts options, delivered to our room (paid for separately). Literally 5min walk to centre of Bendigo. Will book again.

City Centre Hotel was excellent. We broke down in Bendigo with car troubles and ended up staying 6 nights. The staff were very helpful and flexible enough to allow us to book each night as the repairs dragged on. The rooms were cheap but comfy and clean and well equipped. Highly recommended .

We had a very large room that was disability friendly. It was well appointed, very roomy and clean and modern. Huge bathroom with a shower chair, kitchenette with a microwave and large screen TV. The bed was very comfortable.

An old, a bit run down motel and that was within my expectations considering the (modest) price. Excellent location. I have to compliment on cleanliness; linnen was really fresh and crisp and so was towels! That was a nice surprise as I dont see that often in old motels. I was let down by a mattress; sagging and sloping down on one side. Did not provide for good sleep; thats where one star is gone off...

Great location in the centre of Bendigo - close by to pubs / cafes / restaurants. Spacious and incredibly clean rooms. Reception staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Just to be clear, this is not a 5-star place, but honestly it's cheap, very clean, very comfortable, staff are fantastic, and I highly recommend the breakfasts (particularly the pancakes and toasted egg and bacon sandwiches).

Sundays are particularly budget-friendly, with average nightly rates around $145, making it an ideal day to check in. On the other hand, if you’re looking to book on a Tuesday, be prepared for higher costs averaging $258 per night. As you explore this charming city, take the time to discover various neighborhoods and areas that can enhance your stay and provide unique local experiences.
I almost did not stay as I read so many people bagging out the property! I am pleased I went and seen for myself. My room was spotless. There was a fridge, kettle, cups teaspoon and tea, coffee & sugar with milks (in the fridge.) The air-conditioning was great; very quiet and effective. My room had a skylight with an electric shutter. The new bathroom was beautiful. Shampoo, conditioner, soaps, face washers, bath sheets, hand towel and bath mat were supplied. It was quiet; I am a light sleeper and there was no noise (bands, people in a laneway, banging doors etc) Location, location, location 🌟 It was very safe with pin code access to the front door and room entry. The outdoor area was a lovely place to sit and mingle with others staying. I would definitely stay here again. Bang for my buck 👌

This place is an amazing location and reasonably priced. 10/10. Communication with staff. 10/10. After multiple stays. The rooms are very clean and very respectable. 10/10. Multiple food, bakery, reject shop, pubs and pokies all with in 200 Metres. 10/10. What more can you ask for? I love this place and would recommend it to all my family and friends. Sincere high regards. Bruce.

On entry, as the door opened the smell of smoke was evident. Turned on the air conditioning to cycle it out but that only made it worse. We rang reception for a different room but there was no reception to approach, only a mobile number to call. We were able to swap rooms luckily. Not impressed with the initial smell of smoke after the room had just been cleaned apparently. Only parking available for the hotel is level parking directly next door but this is through the council. Location wise, only a short walk from main areas. We will not be staying again unfortunately

Great location as this was middle of the city. The entrance and stairs were not so clean. But, had a nice chandelier in the middle of the stairs. Room was clean enough. Towel rail in the bathroom was missing. All other amenities in the bathroom was good. Didnt have milk in the fridge. But maybe coz its in the city itself. Cups were not clean as i had to wash them again before using. Space in the room was good. We heard lot of noise as a couple was fighting over night. Cursing and all. Wasn't a pleasant feeling with family.
Chamila K — Google review
On the day of arrival I received a SMS with a code to my room and parking information, but I was already on my way driving and I arrived to find out the street parking is metered during the day. Ended up parking the next door level parking, hoping it would be covered by the hotel but it wasn't. Anyways I entered the room and then next I found the tea set looking like this. Very messy, not hygienic. Texted to the number that sent me a text but no answer. Would not come back here again.
Moe T — Google review
A really cool hole in the wall experience! From the outside it looked so sketchy and I was a little worried about a small glass door squeezed in between a chip store and a barber but it's a lot bigger than it seems! Really close to all amenities (shops, parks, public transport at the heart of the Bendigo CBD) plus the room comes with clean, crisp white sheets and a TV, Aircon/Heater, kettle, refrigerator and an updated ensuite. Great, cheap place for a work stopover or budget-conscious traveller who doesn't just want a hostel.
Chel D — Google review
Price, location, cleanliness all very acceptable. We enjoyed our stay and the paid parking in front of the building suited us too, as we arrived relatively late and left again relatively early in the morning.

The Bendigo McIvor Motor Inn offers traditional rooms, some equipped with kitchenettes, in a roadside setting. Guests have praised the motel's cleanliness and the friendly family running it. While some minor issues like room layout and cigarette smells were mentioned, most guests found their stay pleasant with comfortable beds and minimal noise despite its proximity to the road. The inn provides ample parking right in front of the rooms and is conveniently located near Bendigo CBD.
Rooms are a nice, clean, reasonable size, with table, 2 chairs and a sofa. Bed was a tad firm but pillows good. Bathroom is compact but ok, with hooks and shower rail. Shower head maybe have a blockage i think, spray was a bit everywhere. Pump liquid soap. Tiny fridge, microwave, toaster, cutlery plates, jug etc and tea, coffee bikkies, nice touch. Best of all about this motel is the level of service. Second to none. Impeccable daily services if required, breakfast delivered promptly, dishes disappear once outside, check in quick and efficient and all done with a smile. Their laundry service is the bomb, so much appreciated. Nice Pub right across the road for dinner, this was one of the best motels of our journey.

Great little inn. My room was spacious, comfortable, warm and quiet. Bed was comfy with extra pillows and a heavy wool blanket provided (great for winter nights). Has everything you need - microwave, basic toiletries, small fridge, tea/coffee, sugar, milk and bickies. Crockery and cutlery in the room. Old school shower! The best shower in a motel room I’ve had in a long time. The rooms are older but they are kept clean and tidy. Fresh towels and service every day. Walking distance to convenience store, supermarket and restaurants. Public transport stop right out the front that runs to city centre and the railway station. Lovely lovely owners.

Family from NZ and the room was perfect! It was so clean - very impressed. Beds were comfortable and well made. Couldn't hear the road noise so had great sleeps. The Pool is a little smaller than expected but still a pool! Close to town and middle of pretty much everything. Easy to find. Supermarket is just up the road too. Enjoyed our stay! Thanks for being great hosts.

I spent the night here with my son. We booked via Booking.com and it was very easy to do so. On arrival we went to reception for our key. Vey friendly family run business. All the staff are very friendly. Although the room we had was basic and could do with a little updating, it was very clean and cosy. Parking was not a problem, we parked directly outside our room. The location is good, with only a short 5 minute drive into the CBD. We had breakfast there which was reasonably priced and tasted good. Checking out was also very easy as they have a key box to leave your key if reception is unattended or closed. It might be slightly higher in price to some other motels of the same standard, but its worth the price. Highly recomended.

This unpretentious venue features spacious rooms equipped with essential amenities, including free Wi-Fi and parking. Guests appreciate its prime location within the vibrant Bendigo Central area, making it easy to explore local attractions. While some visitors have noted minor issues—like an inoperable spa bath pump or sticky carpets—the overall experience remains positive.
The room was clean, neat and had everything in it, including 3 pkts biscuits with the tea and coffee. I arrived early and was able to drop off my bag even though the office wasn’t open. (The mobile number was on the window) The only downfall for me was the location as I didn’t have a car. I walked from the Bendigo Railway, but then caught a taxi to the Arts Centre to see the Frida Kahlo exhibition. Value for money, definitely recommend.

Low score rating due to the keys given to you can unlock all rooms. Knowing a man can unlock my room during anytime made me feel uneasy. My work colleague tested it twice, the first time he accidentally went to the wrong room no.11 and unlocked the door and noticed it wasn’t his room and was shocked so he tested my room which was no.10 and again unlocked the door too. He was staying in no.12. A chain lock isn’t good enough security to keep out unwanted guests/intruders

Stayed with friends overnight in spa room. We didn't care that the spa wasn't working. Rooms were clean, queen bed was very nice, two singles were OK. Right next to a main road may not suit everyone, but we found it was fine. Called Heather ahead of time and found her to be lovely and very helpful

Alexandra Place is a charming boutique accommodation that perfectly blends comfort and convenience. Nestled in a prime location, it offers contemporary rooms within a low-rise property, ensuring guests enjoy spacious and clean environments. The standout feature here is the exceptional service provided by the friendly staff, particularly Jullian, who goes above and beyond to enhance your stay.
Alexandra Place offers exceptional value for its price, exceeding expectations in several key areas. Our room was impeccably clean and remarkably comfortable, featuring a bed that rivalled my own for sleep quality. The in-room amenities, including a mini-fridge stocked with standard mini-bar items and complimentary coffee, tea, and milk, were a welcome touch. While we opted to explore local breakfast options, Alexandra Place does offer a curated breakfast menu with delivery to your room. A significant highlight was the outstanding shower – the water pressure was robust, and the temperature heated quickly, a detail often overlooked but greatly appreciated. The hotel's location proved ideal for our visit, particularly for accessing the Frida Kahlo exhibition at the Art Gallery. We found the walk to and from the gallery to be easily manageable, even for our less-than-athletic selves (two women in our early 40s and 50s). While perhaps not boasting the full suite of amenities found in a traditional five-star hotel, Alexandra Place earns its five stars in terms of its excellent value, well-maintained condition, and prime location. It provided a comfortable and affordable base from which to enjoy our Bendigo experience. We are sincerely grateful to Alexandra Place for facilitating our visit to the Frida Kahlo exhibition. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Bendigo and look forward to returning

This was a really comfortable motel. We had called to ask for early check in and they were very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were clean and well suited for a family, having a separate room for kids. We were out late at an event, otherwise we would have tried out the spa! The parking is not allocated which made repacking the car a little inconvenient, but was a great stay.

A must stay, very clean, very comfortable and great location. So easy to book in I rang direct because I had a query all my questions were answered and booked in straight away. I asked for a street level room as we can't do stairs. The room was very clean and comfortable , we were near the main road and heard very little noise. Added bonus Lakeview Hotel right next-door so we only had to walk a very short distance for a lovely meal and could have a few drinks , win win win. Highly recommend

Clean, quiet rooms with all that you'd expect from a motel. We stayed in a family room, and all 5 of us were well accommodated in a comfortable room. The price was very good for the two night stay. The kids loved the spa and having their own TV to watch too. My only criticism would be that the WiFi was a bit slow.

This is by far the most expensive and poor quality motel in Bendigo.Overpriced .Very noisy you could hear next room toilet flush and showers ,noisy street too .Wifi never worked . Dirty carpet ,small and outdated room NO microwave No cutlery .I paid for this room as much as I would pay if would have stayed at the Schellar Mecure . but unfortunately there were fully booked..The reviews looked encouraging but it seems that all fake and made up. This motel was advertised and pictured the room completely different .Disappointing and didnt reply to my enquiry what a Waste of money and a true disappointment. If there is less than one star I would have given you easily.

Hotel was clean and comfortable. Bathroom was great and you could change the water pressure in the shower head which was good! The room was easy to access with a code. The aircon didn't work so we contacted reception and he came up straight away. He fiddled with controls, still didn't work so brought a good stand heater up which was great. We left other aircon on and found after 30mins it started working well, didn't require the other one. Only downside was we had a parking space but when we came back later that night all parks were full. Luckily there was one in the street. All in all though we enjoyed our stay there.

Return visitor. Stayed two nights, the location couldn’t be better, and I stay in the “pet suite”, so my furry friend can enjoy some luxury, too. The furnishings are super stylish and the king bed is next level comfortable. The room is also suitable for mobility challenged people as there aren’t any steps. Perfect when visiting Bendigo, it’s literally walking distance to everything you could need.

Slight glitch with my room as guest above sadly led to creaking floorboards BUT... the customer liaison officer of front of house, Lavena, was just wonderful. We absolutely love Bendigo Ernest Hotel and have stayed here several times—it’s become our go-to place whenever we visit Bendigo. Our preferred spot is on the ground floor, and we’re particularly fond of Suite 01 Robin Wallace-Crabbe, which is just off the charming, French-inspired courtyard. It really feels like being transported to a quaint European village, but with all the modern designer touches. The hotel and grounds simply offer the perfect balance of elegance and comfort. A special mention goes to Fletcher, the resident Airedale terrier—he’s an absolute joy and was a highlight of our last stay! We’re already looking forward to many more visits ahead!

Brilliant room overlooking Rosalind Park! The high ceilings and elegant fittings perfectly complement the charm of this historical Bendigo building. The bed and pillows? Easily some of the best we’ve ever had at a hotel—pure comfort! We stayed here the night of our wedding and were blown away by the experience. The manager, Tia, was incredibly friendly and helpful, greeting us out the front and even offering a couple of drinks to help cool down on a hot mid-30s day. Exceptional service, an amazing room, and an unforgettable stay. Hotel Ernest is a must for anyone looking to experience one of Bendigo’s finest hotels!

I stayed for about 4-5x nights back in July/August. Amazing owner/manager Harry, who was extremely personable, patient, very kind and helpful. He helped me out with pricing and also managed to squeeze me in when I needed to add an extra night at the last minute which I greatly appreciated during a bit of a rough patch a few months back. I got to have my 2x little besties with me (pet friendly) and the room was very spacious, and sparkling clean. I felt safe and it was nice and quiet. Lovely cleaner who was always happy to chat, all amenities replaced daily, all the way down to a fresh dish sponge. I could not recommend these guys highly enough and am extremely grateful. You never know what anybody is going through, so the kindness, smiles and generosity of Harry & the recognition and small exchanges with the cleaner made my world a little bit brighter for those few days which I am extremely grateful for and needed so badly. Thank you guys from the bottom of my heart. I couldn’t recommend a better place to stay.

This is the best dog-friendly motel I've ever stayed in! I was very impressed with the room - it was spacious and very clean (kudos to the cleaners!) The kitchenette made it feel a bit more homely and provided more bench space to put things. Brand new appliances. No clunky noisy air conditioner from the 80's - nice quiet Mitsubishi split system. Room stayed warm overnight even with heating off, was set well back from the road and was quiet. Perfect strip of grass along the roadway for toileting dogs (see photo), and the lovely Botanic Gardens just a few minutes walk away is dog-friendly (on leash) too! Would definitely stay here again. Thank you Allara Motor Lodge for being dog-friendly. Highly recommend!!!

We had a fantastic stay at Bendigo Lodge. The property is excellent and located in a great part of Bendigo. Property was clean, quiet and very comfortable. A great place to rest and unwind. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks

Brian you are amazing thank you so much for welcoming us into your lodge was absolutely perfect for a little getaway. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for nice and cosy place to stay in Bendigo, perfect location from the main strip, train station and shopping centre. Thank you again.

Such a beautiful space that was both comfortable and thoughtfully designed. This was a last minute stay for me and the location was perfect being so close to town but the design, fit out and furniture was beautiful. Very modern and stylish, incorporating technological features like electric blinds, light feature in the bathroom mirror and smart TV as well as hidden storage spaces to keep the design minimal and streamline but still allowing for a warm and comfortable space. I also liked the fact I didn’t have to scramble around behind bedside tables to ensure I could charge my phone, watch etc overnight as everything was incorporated into the design of the bed/headboard. I highly recommend and I would definitely stay again if I had the opportunity 😊

Words cant express the level of attention that has been put into this place. Highly highly recommend, Brian and his team were extremely proactive in catering to our needs and never made any of our requests feel like a burden. Definitely going to come back next time we're in town.

Rooms are warm inviting and spacious ! The fire places make for a beautiful evening to relax, very modern with beautiful lighting throughout and plenty of natural light and native gardens makes it very relaxing so close to the centre of town and everything is within walking distance Would definitely recommend and stay again !

Fabulous stay! I will highly recommend anyone who is in town for a night or two. Or even a few nights! Very responsive and great customer service by Brian! I love how clean the place is kept and at the same time very modern and simplistic! Thank you for the stay and will come back again. My number 1 accommodation choice!
