First time having a meal here tonight. We had a lovely meal. I had Salmon con salsa, which was delicious and my husband had lasagna, which he enjoyed. Service great. Served with a smile every time they came over 😊 all ready have booked again 😊

I love this place! The food is incredible. The staff are efficient, professional and friendly. The building itself is small and intimate, perfect for dates, birthdays and anniversaries. The price is 100% reasonable for the quality/ amount of food your getting, not to mention the cocktails are delicious and strong

First time we've been here, was lovely! Mother's day lunch with the family. Super friendly staff, quick service and great atmosphere. We had roast dinners (only improvement would be a bigger Yorkshire pudding and maybe some broccoli 🥦 ) one of the best I've had in the area, fish and risotto. All very tasty, and great desserts. Will definitely be back to try some more off the menu!

This is 100% the best Italian restaurant in the area! The food is top tier, the service is impeccable and the atmosphere is wonderful. The staff really do you make you feel welcome and they are very friendly! The food never misses, we go quite regularly and the food is perfection every time. Would 110% recommend Villa Romana to any and everyone!

Definitely gonna come back here! The food was divine, you could say it's owned and you are served by Italians judging their variety and some of them awkward behaviour where actually you need their attention when it gets busy! My partner lasagna tasted like one I had in Rome couple years ago and it was according to him best lasagna he ever tried!. Obviously place can go quite chilly cause the brick but it's worth! Climate very Italian and homemade!

We had a great experience at the Titchfield Mill. We came for a Sunday roast, I had the beef and my partner had the slow cooked pork belly, both were cooked immaculately by the chef Harry. Our server Matthew was so incredibly polite and attentive, all the staff were. Overall a great experience, and we’ll definitely be back!

We had a delicious Sunday lunch at The Titchfield Mill, cooked by Gary and served by Matt. I loved being able to pop out and see the mill wheels and hear the water, but the best bit was the untapped gravy! You can’t beat a roast with gravy for days. Thanks for a brilliant lunch.

First time visiting today and certainly will not be our last! Matt our server was friendly, professional and efficient! Also compliments to the chef Gary! I had roast beef Sunday dinner and the beef was the best roast beef I’ve ever had. It was pink in the middle, no fat and cut like butter. Wow wow wow! So impressed! Lovely lovely find!

This restaurant is superb. I loved every bite. I had a friendly and courteous welcome from the waitress and the food was delicious. Each dish was art on a plate and the flavours were just right. The only thing I could slightly fault was the Brownie dessert. The texture was not quite right but the flavour was nice. The red wine was fantastic and the desert wine was very nice too. It was a tiny bit cold inside the restaurant when I arrived. Luckily they sat me next to a radiator so I soon warmed up.

Lovely food although somewhat busy in terms of flavour to my taste. The wine was delivered but not poured for tasting which was unfortunate because the first bottle was 'off' however the situation was quickly rectified- overall very good so highly recommended

Just beautiful food. Fabulous flavour combinations, beautifully presented, great quality wine and the service was faultless. One of those meals that you keep thinking about for ages after you have eaten it. I had to try and slow up how quickly I devoured it so I could savour it for longer. I can thoroughly recommend it. ❤️

Went here for dinner on a Friday Night. Just because and it was delicious. My pork fillet perfectly moist, the venison perfectly rare. The restaurant is nicely spaced and offers a small menu of seasonal dishes to meet most dietary requirements. As ever a wonderful dinner we all loved. If you have not tried this restaurant please do it is lovely.

We visited as an anniversary treat. The food was amazing, Jemma and Jessica looked after us really well. We had 3 courses and each one was delicious and well cooked. Will definitely be visiting again soon. Lovely little restaurant 😍

I can honestly say that the pan roasted fillet of beef is the tastiest plate of food I’ve eaten in the last 20 years if this place is not Michelin star rated soon I will be very surprised!

Simply....Just go! The food was exquisite. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We'd never been but heard good things and they were right. We know that this will become a regular place for us.

Exceptional customer service skills by a member of staff named Rhea, she was very friendly and she went out of her way to make sure that my mum got a meal that she would enjoy as she is a very fussy vegetarian. We enjoyed our meals and the quality of the food was outstanding especially for the price of it as well as the prices were very reasonable for it too. We will defiantly be coming back very soon.

Had a lovely evening using our virgin experience voucher, all staff seemed happy and attentive on shift. But a big shout out to Bethany our server who ensured we were happy with everything, even to the point she ensured I checked my steak before eating due to being heavily pregnant and wanting to make sure everything was right! Food was lovely, the non-alcoholic cocktails tasted great! Only down side is please give more options on the experience for beer not everyone likes peroni aha!!

Had two visits in two days. Ordered via phone app. Food arrived as described and we were happy. Nice and quiet during the early afternoon. On the second day all was good except the time waiting for food and drinks to arrive. Will certainly return and stay longer when time allows.

Visited here for lunch whilst exhibiting my Morris minor during Bygone Fareham. The buffet supplied was ample. Very tasty. You could take what you wanted. Sadly some people abused this privilege by taking more than needed. I was told any leftover food would be handed to the homeless seeking an exsistance in Fareham. I though this to be a lovely gesture😊

Group of 10 of us for a pre theatre meal. Excellent, attentative service by all staff. Menu choice not brilliant, but good value for money - not silly prices like other places we've been lately. Food all came out together and was hot and delicious. Would definitely recommend and will be visiting again soon.

Whether you're a tourist or on a business trip, this is a superb place to stop for a night or a longer stay. It has a very pleasant local feel in every respect : the rooms, the meals, the breakfast, the pub... The premises are clean and the hosts are so friendly. Excellent ! Fareham and the surrounding area are superb.

I meet our group of writers at The Red Lion Fareham every month for lunch. The food is great, good price too. We ordered our meals from the Brunch menu at 11 am and not for the first time, served by Dan. Not only is he efficient but cheerful and friendly too. Highly recommend.

Staff, bar, restaurant especially breakfast were fantastic.Rooms in the old building could do with a bit of updating. Don't let that put you off. Rooms are spotless lovely place great value all round.

We had a meal and drinks at the Red Lion and it was very good and excellent value. Served by Phil who immediately picked up on our Yorkshire accents and did everything to make us feel welcome . The food was very good and the drinks hit the spot.

Stayed here a few times over the years now, love the building, the service, really nice restaurant, just think the rooms need a bit of work especially the bathroom. Nonetheless always happy to return!

Just returned after a five year absence. Nothing has changed well, maybe the ingredients, but still excellent. Now have corned beef savouries and a wonderful keema pasty as well as stonking breakfast treats

Amazing quiche and salad. All home made and fresh. Large selection of pies and quiches, and of course cake!!! Everything tasted and looked delicious. Lovely place, looks beautiful and has a nice and cozy atmosphere, with very soft and warm blankets if needed!! Would recommend to anyone x

Really lovely home made pies and pastries for lunch with options for additional salad accompaniments. Food was fresh and very tasty. Slightly more expensive per person for lunch than other local options, but the quality was worth it. Very nice coffees and service was top notch too.

The BEST afternoon tea in the area!! I have tried many afternoon teas around the area and I have also been to Cackleberrys several times. But this is by far the place that does the best afternoon tea in the area. Everything is so fresh and so much effort is made to attention to detail and presentation. You also get a lot for your money so it is extremely good value and everything is absolutely lovely quality. The staff in there are so friendly too and attentive, nothing is too much trouble. I cannot recommend this place enough and I will be going there with my mother in law for lunch this month too!

We went for a group booking with old comrades. It was signposted and easy to find. While it isn't fancy, it is modern and fresh. Though most of the staff are trainees (it's a college), they were very polite and professional, giving a very good level of service. They had a decent selection of drinks to accompany an excellent meal. The emphasis is on quality not quantity, so if you eat a lot you may be disappointed, however, the portions easily satisfied all (I think) of our large group of over 50s. Not a complaint among us. Would definitely eat here again, and would prefer it over many other 'posh' and not so posh restaurants I've eaten at.

Go here often as it is usually very good so decided to take some friends along for the experience. Firstly the greeting at the door was not what we expected, the students stood inside , no greeting , no door opened , no coats taken. Water poured at table 3 glasses filled one with a quarter of water as non left , didn't return with anymore. A non interested student managed to take the order but came back as didn't remember it.ordered drinks , waited , and waited, first course delivered no drinks , eventually asked for them again , we managed to get served by a other non interested student no interaction , not a word spoken the teacher did manage to give helping bottleee opening ! The service and how it was presented was diabolical,.most of the crockery/ cutlery was plonked on the table in an disinterested manner almost thrown down .We were most surprised that the teacher in charge didn't check once what was happening, no interaction with student, never asked once if everything was o k ,or checked their performance which in our minds is the whole object as us as customers expect in the help of these students going forward with their chosen career's..We noticed that the bread should have been served with a pre starter we asked what this would have been ..and was told a fishcake and did we want it now ,this was offered prior to our pudding being served!!!! The whole experience was laughable which is what we did, .we were so dismayed had it not been a student restaurant we would have complained bitterly and walked out.We believe the responsibility was down to the teacher who did very little in guiding, teaching, observing and pointing our particular student in the right direction. His manner was atrocious no concept at all of customer care or hospitality. Lax approach, had we not had a sense of humour our night would have been a disaster. No one said goodnight , or a thank you is this not included in hospitality or even good manners? Come on these students need teaching the basics , how to present themselves they are in the public eye and need to learn a great deal from the very beginning of their training. The food was good.

Friends invited me - had zero to low expectations but was totally blown away by the sheer quality of the food. Sure, the staff are young and a tad awkward at times (which is why they’re learning) but in terms of each plate, what they put out is first class and hours later, still feel good about the evening.

Have eaten here many times and the food and service are always excellent. However, last night's 3rd year student"s menu was exceptional. Apart from the perfect food, the service and front of house were brilliant. Thank you all for a lovely evening. You are all a credit to the college. Looking forward to my next visit.

An amazing restaurant that's run by the staff and students at Fareham College. The food is of a really high standard and the staff are friendly and efficient. The duck main was delicious (fell off the bone). Great value for money and it's a great opportunity for the students to showcase their talents.

Only popped in for a brekkie after two years to give The Harvester another go, thinking it would improve and then we had to wait over an hour and a half for our food. On arriving the ladies gave a friendly smile/welcome, took our seats and ordered our food, all being good so far. When the food arrived my husbands large plate with over done sauces, black pudding and hard yolk eggs along with melted butter that had to be pour on the hard toast. My husband wrote a review only for the answer to come back with " you should have asked for the manager, well I called over a lovely lady only to ask "should MY EGGS be like this (photo attached) not mentioning the burnt/overdone bacon, the lady replied "definitely not" and went to get more eggs, only when they arrive looking more like fried eggs and by this time the rest of my food was cold! However we ate most of the food due to a long day ahead. The eggs benedict is the worst I've ever had and won't be coming back again. Although the lovely lady couldn't apologise enough.

We had a great meal at the newly refurbished restaurant. The menu is huge so it took some time for me to decide. The kids menu has a great choice of food and I thought it was excellent value for money. Our server seemed very busy, but they were so enthusiastic.

Visited on 17th July 2025 with my friend and her 2 year old. We were first to arrive and the waitress was very polite and showed us to our table. We arrived just after 9am. More people started to arrive for their breakfast. How ever they got there food before us which didn't seem right and we didn't get ours till about 10 am which was nearly an hour. The one mushroom was very over cooked and chewing and the sausages were also very over cooked. We will not be visiting there again.

I went for a quiet lunch, which I got. Myself and friend wanted to try the steaks they had which was ribeye and rump. I have to say, the chef “Harvey” cooked them to perfection, medium rare. Our waitress “Shannon” was very lovely and made sure we had everything we needed at all times.

Had a lovely meal tonight with my family, Dylan who served us was very friendly and helpful and kept checking on us. He kept us informed on wait times even tho clearly it was a busy night for the staff. Dylan has great customer service skills. Enjoyed our visit. Kids ate most of their dinners which lately has not been the case. So that's a win, and we all enjoy the salad bar.

1st time visit and will definitely be back, I had the classic breakfast and for me was cooked to perfection 👌, portion size was big and did struggle to finish and seeing as I was feeling very hungry when we arrived this certainly filled the void, the server was friendly and attentive, food came out within 10 minutes so was happy with that.

I came here on a Saturday evening with a group of my friends for a meal, drinks and a catch up. The pub has been refurbished and it looks beautiful. A nice gentleman showed us to our table. We weren’t sat in the new refurbished side of the restaurant (maybe due to the size of our party) but that didn’t matter because we had a lovely quiet table and the whole restaurant is nice and clean. Our server was Michelle and she introduced herself in such a lovely warm manner and was so polite, she made us feel so welcome and comfortable. Michelle couldn’t do enough for us, she made sure we had drinks the whole time, even topping up our refills despite us being able to do this ourselves. Our food was perfect, hot on arrival and we had everything we had ordered and needed. The salad bar was great, all topped up with fresh food. A lovely experience! Thank you Michelle

The steaks are spot on and delicious. Whenever I’m in town, this is one of my preferred places. UPro-tip: if you get the roasted mini-potatoes, any steak is well worth dipping into the garlicky butter at the bottom of the pot! Yum 😋

Fabulous new tapas range including some delicious rump steak, chargrilled chicken skewers and a great portion of massive garlic prawns. The chimichurri salsa stuff was utterly delicious too. Decent prices £22 for four dishes (£5.50 each!).

We went in for a few cocktails before going to the cinema. The advert said 2 for 1 on the cocktails. I was disappointed that they had to be the same cocktail. So we had 2 each. They did look nice but no fresh fruit it's all dehydrated and didn't look appitizing. The mojito was not nice. There was no taste of the mint they put something else in it so I would call it a mojito. It was not refreshing at all that it should be. We also had another one ( I can't remember it's name ) but that was nice apart from the dried fruit that made it not appealing to the eye. From what I seen of the food it did look nice and will probably go back to try the food.

We had the BEST time celebrating our son’s 16th Birthday last night! Jen looked after us - she was knowledgeable on anything that wasn’t available that day, before we made any orders. Jen was very attentive to all 8 of us! The food was delicious, quick and out all the same time . Tom was an amazing barman for our party- nothing was too much ! To top it the staff even had a birthday card and a bag of chocolates waiting on the table for my son’s arrival ! Highly recommended.

Great meal out... Me and the Mrs had some great food. Our waitress Karen was spot on too. Very polite. Food was good quality, decent price and didn't feel rushed.

It would only have only taken a little to make this 5 starts. The steak was amazing, we paid extra for seafood £6 only gets you 2 small prawns 🤯 Mine came without the scallops as they were still cooking. The starter's came out in dribs and drabs also, as not all ready together. It wasn't busy when we ate so I think some work needs to be done with kitchen. Children meal was spot on, burger was cooked perfectly (a bit red). I didn't enjoy the triple cooked chips, they weren't anything special, in fact tasted a bit like old potatos. Puddings were good & children's meal was very well priced. Good cocktail & popcorn is a nice touch.

Went for Boxing Day Lunch. Fantastic experience all in all. We had 3 menus to select from which was excellent considering it was Christmas time, all of the many options sounded incredible for starter, main and dessert. The wait for the main to arrive was around 45 minutes which is understandable given how busy it was. Fantastic, friendly staff. Would personally recommend the Lemon Pousset for dessert. The view of the water and across to the Isle of white from our table was also amazing.

Great pub in the seafront for a meal or for a drink with friends/family. I had the fish and chips wich it was a decent protion and the fish was okay wich i was expecting haddock or cod and i had something else wich i never had it before. chocolate brownie with salted caramel sauce as a dessert and it was on the specials menu. Our nan had the crayfish spaghetti with chives and she said it was delicious, she would come back if the chef put it in he's menu. The atmosphere is good, nice views if you book a table next to the window, good costumer service from the waitress. I would recomend this place and I will come back if I'm arround the area.

Best pub lunch of any of the pubs we’ve tried whilst staying locally. Busy, popular place serving an excellent menu; we were a group of 5 on New Year’s Day. We sampled the Daily Roast (rare, generous, thick slices of pink beef); the fish & chips (large piece of cod with delicious batter & thrice cooked chips & salad); the pork belly salad; the pie & the double bacon cheeseburger. All excellent & eaten overlooking the beach & the view to the Isle of Wight. Well cooked, generous portions & tasty, washed down with pints of cider & Fursty Ferret amber ale. Great experience; efficient friendly staff. Dog friendly! Perfect after a bracing beach walk. Sadly we didn’t have room for desserts. We will return!

We visited whilst passing on a walk and were fortunate enough to get a bar service table with a sea view (weekday lunchtime). There didn't seem to be a large selection on the menu, but the food was well cooked and presented. I wouldn't make it a regular place to go, but would certainly use again.

A great venue after a nice walk with the family on the beach. We could not get into the restaurant but ended up outside on the decking. Ordered beef roast dinners and kids meals. The only reservation... the cheeseburger ordered from the kids menu was made for an adult (mustard burger sauce and relish). You cannot get coffee downstairs and have to go up 2 floors to order it. It would be beneficial to allow guests to order on the veranda with waiting staff delivering to the table. Would have given 5 stars if I did not have to get the coffee.

Great views and great food. Free car parking but the service wasn't good at all. We were rushed to order and then a long waiting for a couple of drinks. Then we ordered some food and some more drinks, we had to remind them a few times about the drinks and the sauces never arrived.

I visited Osborne VIew as it was recommended to me. Probably the best burger I have had in a long time. Very nice and I look forward to coming back when I next visit the area. Great views too, but it was starting to get dark so my picture doesn't do it justice! Thanks very much

Very good selection of beer, and awesome ciders (if you like cider try them out!!!!). Food was generous and served pretty fast. Special mention for the sticky pudding, a must try. I have to mention about the staff as I’ve seen a lot of reviews naming « friendly staff » and such : it wasn’t my experience at all, both ladies at the counter were acting pissed towards me and I felt like I was not welcomed for no reasons, maybe because of my North American accent or French Canadian one? Anyways this lowered the quality of my experience. Smell of alcohol, loud clients, lots of navy stuff all around, makes it an authentic pub, try it, it’s not expensive and British navy flavor all the way.

I’m a bit “old fashioned” and being at sea nearly 35 years I do like a good maritime pub. I’ve been in Portsmouth 3 months and I have enjoyed the service and food here at the Ship A! The staff work hard and at times are ran ragged. This is a proud pub with its roots in maritime heritage and the Union flag. Love this place so much I bought the T-shirt.

Friendly locals, interesting interior, bit too hot inside, and unfortunately I was disappointed with the steak and ale pie as the crust was so hard and almost impossible to cut, was probably in microwave too long, also meat a bit fatty. It was edible and I hadn't eaten all day so I didn't complain. Nobody came to ask me if everything was OK. However the meals my sons had looked good but I will go elsewhere next time I'm in Portsmouth.

The best Sunday dinner I’ve eaten during my stay in England. Excellent selection of beer 🍻 and friendly staff. The place was very busy when we visited and the atmosphere was fantastic. You’re surrounded by conversations and laughter.

Lovely pub, sea views, great staff who were super friendly, excellent local knowledge and a sense of humour! They offered for me to come and pull a pint too which was very funny. The Ship Anson is exactly what you hope for when you stumble into a British pub: noisy in the best way, full of characters, and with beer that tastes like it has been keeping sailors alive for centuries. We walked in as strangers and walked out as honorary Portsmouth locals – or at least that’s how it felt after a few pints. The banter flies across the room like cannon fire, the atmosphere is warm but sharp, and the staff know how to keep the glasses full without killing the vibe. Back home in Switzerland, such a night would be impossible: we’d all sit in silence, nursing one overpriced drink, while waiting for the last bus. Here, we laughed with people we’d never met, shouted across tables, and felt part of something bigger than ourselves. The Ship Anson isn’t just a pub – it’s proof that Britain’s greatest empire is still alive, and it’s built of wood, brass, and beer. We’ll be back.

Belting boozer just outside Portsmouths major tourist traps. Minimal but ok menu. Beer selection more than makes up for any downsides though, and please try the house bitter, well worth it. 💯% Recomended

We recently visited Cams Mill in Fareham for a Sunday roast, and it turned out to be a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The setting itself is lovely, with a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes it a great place to unwind on a weekend. For our main, we chose the roast pork belly, and it was absolutely delicious. The meat was perfectly cooked—juicy, tender, and full of flavour—while the crackling had just the right crunch without being overly hard. The sides were just as impressive: fresh, well-prepared, and clearly made with care. Everything complemented the pork beautifully, making it feel like a proper hearty Sunday roast. To drink, we had a Peroni, and it was exactly what you’d hope for—refreshing, crisp, and served ice cold, which paired wonderfully with the richness of the pork. The highlight of the meal, however, came at the end with dessert. We went for the sticky toffee pudding, accompanied by a pot of tea, and it was hands down the best part of the visit. Rich, indulgent, and comforting, it provided the perfect sweet finish. Overall, Cams Mill delivered a fantastic Sunday lunch experience, and we’d happily return.

First ever visit by my wife and I. We had a very warm welcome from the staff. Also the staff were careful to check the menu choice as my wife has a nut allergy. We were very well looked after by Kelly and Tracy. We had a spritz, 2 main meals (fish pie and chicken schnitzel), garlic cheesy bread, a sticky toffee pud and coffee and all were excellent. The place looks lovely, set in a restored looking barn with lovely views over Fareham Creek. Staff were lovely and service is great but the food just needs to improve. At premium prices, it should at least be half decent but overdone fries and meat on both occasions that we've been isn't really acceptable. Improve this and it's a 5-star venue.

Some waiting. Decided to pop in for a sit down meal with the wife, we didn't book but it was pretty quiet for a Saturday. We were seated in a nice quiet corner by a lovely fire place. We order our drinks which took 10 minutes to get to the table, once we got our drinks we order our mains then we wait what seem like ages (actually 40 mins). The food was superb and well worth the wait sadly the waiting was not over. We then sat for a further 15 minutes with empty plates waiting for the desert menus. It was at this point we caught the attention of Woody who was super attentive and in a tiny pair of minutes had cleared our plates and we were browsing though the deserts, the desserts were prompt and really tasty. Woody had saved this meal for us and was keen and honest. We happily paid the top and would eat here again.

This is a lively (noisy) purpose-built waterside pub. Very attractive. Understaffed. Food is Fullers standard fare, ok not fab, not cheap. What really makes me mad is the drinks prices - in particular, wine. What on earth is it all about charging £12 plus for a 250ml glass of red wine? £30 plus for a very ordinary bottle! Surely common sense dictates you would sell more if you didn’t charge such outlandish prices?! Not going back.

What a great place to eat, expensive pub food at its best. But, £14.60 for a large glass of Rosé? Bit steep. Extra good on a sunny day sitting outside.

Yesterday we were heading back to the station following a work trip and needed to get some food for our long journey home. With limited shops around we popped into this lovely pub to see if they could do us any takeaway food. Joey was behind the bar and gave us great customer service as he went out of his way to ensure we could get the food in time to then be on our way to the station. It was a tight squeeze time wise but we were so grateful for the assistance and we managed to make our train. Thank you so much Joey for not turning us away, we appreciate it!

My partner and I usually have a great experience here and it is our go to place for a meal out, by passing many places on the 6 mile trip. However tonight was not great at all, starters were at our table in 10 minutes, however after that we waited more than 50mins for our mains. At this point my partner had lost her appetite and therefore ruined our experience. We felt as though the hostess was more interested in talking to other tables and was not very hospitable towards us. We also weren't made to feel like valued customers ie when we paid she took payment and left with no real gratitude for our custom. I feel after so many great experiences this was a huge let down

Absolutely AMAZING service from the whole team. Thank you for making my dad’s birthday celebrations so perfect. Gary made it possible for us to arrive early and set up the table to surprise my dad and Caroline was the best server I’ve ever had she was so knowledgeable and keen to ensure we all had a great time. The food was yummy and the atmosphere was laid back and relaxed. They even brought out the cakes we supplied and sang happy birthday with us. I went for lunch, 23/09/2025 we had the steak sampler and the surf and turf burger, both meals were absolutely delicious a big credit to the chef, and our server Clare was brilliant. Nothing was to much trouble even though she was well and truly rushed off her feet. Clare you are a very wonderful waitress! Overall we had a lovely experience with delicious food and will definitely be returning.

Came in for dinner with my parents recently. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by a lovely man who showed us to our table, I heard someone call him Wayne. He was very chatty, asked us what we would like to drink, very quick service, came back and asked us about the food we would like, again very friendly man. Atmosphere was nice, food was great. The staff were accommodating and friendly. Wayne was great and he made our experience with this restaurant lovely as we had never been before. I recommend.

Read about their sumptuous Sunday Lunch so booked a table yesterday at the Oast and Squire at 4pm. On arrival we were informed that there were no Sunday Lunches left and that we had to be there by 2pm at the latest to get one. What sort of venue can’t produce a Sunday Lunch after 2pm? My local serves them until 5 and you can always guarantee that they are available. We looked at the menu and my wife selected the chicken schnitzel. We were told that they weren’t available either. Probably won’t be going back there again. The rest of the meals were fine

The breakfast is the main attraction as it is normally fresh cooked and served when ready. Plenty of other choices but the breakfast is consistently good. Ample parking just in sight of the large windows.

This was my first visit here, as I was on my way down to Fareham for a work conference. I went with two friends who know the area well, and we decided to have a meal. Service was excellent from Victoria and her colleagues, and our food was very tasty and beautifully presented. I was impressed by the size of the restaurant, how clean it was kept, and the welcoming atmosphere. The staff clearly enjoy their work, and it shows. I really value good interaction, and they didn’t disappoint. The team were attentive, courteous and helpful without being intrusive. Even though I live in West London, I’ll definitely be back. Congratulations to Victoria and all her colleagues, both front and back of house, for doing such a great job.

My experience with eating at Harvester has gone down over the years but they have obviously stepped up a notch or two. Great choices on the menu and well priced lunch specials which included a Bhaji Burger and Chips. I opted for this and from the first bite I knew I would be ordering this again, it was really good. Also the chips were "proper" ones not reconstituted potato. Service was also very friendly and the salad bar had some good items. Everything to like and we will be back.

Had a great visit to Harvester thanks to Michael! He was super friendly, easy to talk to, and made us feel really welcome. Service was spot on the whole time — he made sure we had everything we needed and was just genuinely nice to chat with. You can tell he really cares about his job and the customers. Big thanks to Michael for making our meal even better!

Service was quick and friendly (however slightly overbearing, our server continually spoke to us throughout the entire meal even when trying to eat). Was very disappointed when going to the salad bar as every single spoon moved released a large swarm of fruit flies, same when collecting bread rolls, they had tried to cover with cling film but they had managed to get underneath. I mentioned this to a member of the kitchen team who then covered the salad food but did not replace the food that was there, which given the fact that fruit flies aid in the spread of e.coli and salmonella was not great food hygene. Food did come out promptly, however the coleslaw was sad and had browned considerably. Thoughout the whole meal we were plauged by fruit flies and actually abandoned eating because between that and being smothered by the server it had become a little much. Was a shame as I love Harvester as a chain and am not usually disappointed. Will not be returning to this particular location.

Fantastic coffee, the spiced apple cake was amazing and the views are spectacular. It is quite tucked away but well worth seeking out. I took the coastal walk to Porchester Castle which was great - variety of terrain and scenery, great for dogs but not very buggy friendly tbh - and it was just about right, not too long not too short.

Great service, food, prices and location...what more can you ask for? Being a tiny bit more out the way means it's not as busy as places on Southsea seafront which is great. It's also free parking and great views.

A bit pricey but the cafe is lovely, delicious food and sea views make this a wonderful little spot for a treat. The toilets aren’t so nice sadly as shared access with marina and didn’t seem particularly clean.

What a fantastic find! This lovely café is tucked away off the beaten track, but well worth seeking out. It's in a beautiful spot overlooking the top end of Portsmouth Harbour, and it was lovely to see there is plenty of indoor and outside seating to take in the view. I visited many years ago and was impressed to see it’s now twice the size, though it is clearly very popular and was generally busy during our visit. We stopped for coffee and cakes, which were both very good. The prices seemed to match the high quality, so we felt it was good value. For those planning a visit, it’s helpful to know there is parking available nearby. A useful tip: if you plan on eating a full meal, I would definitely recommend booking in advance. However, please note that it's not possible to book just for a drink and cake. Overall, a really enjoyable visit to a great spot. We will certainly be back!

Went with my sister for her birthday breakfast. We are both fit so we're able to get to the venue from the car park with minimal problems. Wet and windy but didn't deter us. Worth it! Lovely views, so good that it can get packed on lovely days and at peak times so recommend going early. Dog friendly so great for walkers and on a lovely walk route. We wanted and expected quality. For that, the wait was to be expected. It's a quality place to plan to take your time and enjoy it and take in the views. Highly recommended.

First visit here and I'll definitely be going back! The food was absolutely delicious, I had the scallops and they were the best I'd ever eaten. We had a jug of sangria to drink which made a nice change from other restaurants. Tony was absolutely hilarious, but professional at the same time. Looking forward to my next visit 😊

Really lovely and very authentic Galician and Spanish restaurant with four menus (!): the standard in the menu book (short list but carefully chosen, obviously), a tapas menu (excellent), daily specials (equally excellent), and a really excellent fish specials menu with a fantastic selection of dishes. Service is excellent and he is very friendly. 'Antonios' has instantly become our local favourite restaurant. The food takes its time to arrive but that's really a good thing - beautifully fresh food.

The service was impeccable and hilarious too. The food was to die for and the fish was so fresh. One of the best cheese boards I have had. I am still wondering why I have never been here before. It certainly will become a firm favourite place for dinner.

Having looking forward to trying this restaurant I was greeted by the owner who I could only describe as an absolute melt unfortunately as I came into the restaurant my phone went off it was my 93 year old mum from across the restaurant shouted not in hear then someone at some stage.must have said that he was funny anything but when it came to the wine he poured it out I said that's fine he then went into one saying I must taste it he reminded me of my old shool teacher controlling I've eaten in some top restaurant they make you feel so special not here we couldn't wait to leave

Came here with a girl friend for dinner. The door kept being open and it was freezing inside every time someone came in! The food was delicious, probably the best dish I've had in a long time! The drinks were also yummy. Everything well priced for the quality. The staff were friendly also. When called over to get the bill to us, the table who asked for this after us got served before (same waitress) which I wasn't impressed with.

Had a lovely meal at Prezzo in Whiteley Staff were very attentive even though the restaurant was very busy! I am coeliac (gluten intolerant) and there was a very wide choice of meals that could be adapted for me, the only downside was that our server could not take my order as it had to be taken by a manager! This meant we waited a good 15 minutes for a manager to take our order! Which was strange as when we got to desert, our server could take the order for that! Food was good and made a lovely evening out

A busy half term Friday night in this Italian chain restaurant: how nice to see lots of staff bustling around! Our waitress was everything you could hope for - friendly, competent, efficient. The four of us had starters and mains, everything was brought out hot, fresh and well presented. I had prawns to start and there was a generous amount with beautifully fluffy bread to soak up the garlicky oil. My main of gnocchi with nduja and burrata was absolutely delicious, see picture for full droolfest. The nduja was charred on top and the gnocchi was "pillowy", a texture I never manage to achieve at home. There was a little wait between the starters and mains but not excessive, especially given how busy it was. Plus we had some nice drinks to keep us company (👋🏽Ciao Ignuza). My pathetic family had no room for dessert so I had to forgo a sweet treat or face looking like a glutton but I'm sure dessert would have been delicious given the standard of the rest of the food. The restaurant was warm and cheerful in decor with a big circular feature light on the upper floor. Overall, a fantastic experience and so nice to see a place that doesn't automatically add a "service" charge (yes of course we tipped but it's the principle of UK eateries adding this Americanism that bothers me). The food was pricey (£9 for a starter and £18-£22 for a main) but it was totally justified for the quality and taste of our meals. This would be a treat occasion for us in the future.

We recently visited Prezzo in Fareham for a family get-together with 17 of us, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The service was excellent — our waiter, Ollie, was attentive and friendly, and his manager, May, went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food and atmosphere. There was one small error with an order, but it was handled so professionally and promptly by the manager that it didn’t affect the evening at all. In fact, it just showed how committed the team is to providing great service. All in all, the evening was flawless — everyone had an amazing time. Highly recommended!

I had a fantastic dining experience at Prezzo. I started with the garlic bread, which was perfectly cooked — warm, flavorful, and a great way to kick off the meal. For my main, I had a pizza that was absolutely delicious, with fresh ingredients and a perfectly baked crust. The service was outstanding throughout from Max and Ollie — very friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was just right without being intrusive. The atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed, making it a great spot to enjoy a meal and unwind. Overall, I couldn’t have asked for a better visit. I’ll definitely be coming back and would highly recommend Prezzo to anyone looking for great food and excellent service!

Quick quiet Tuesday evening supper but hadn’t been to a Prezzo in a while. Just good quality and tasty food. But the shine out moment was our server Emilia S.. what an excellent individual and exuded customer service and attentiveness without being over bearing. Led each ordering activity well and listened to our answers and was candid and humorous to boot. Emilia has placed this mainstream restaurant above the rest in the vicinity. Well done u.

It saddens me to write this review because we have come here before which was the reason why we returned. •Our gyozas (chicken) were rock hard. •The chicken dish for my daughter was cold and the chicken was very dry. •My fish curry had a lot of rice but a tiny amount of fish. I had that dish recently at a different Wagamama where the portion of fish was substantially bigger. When I asked why the portion sizes are smaller I have been told that the fish is weight and every customer receives 140grams of fish in their curry but they will happily cook some more fish and give it to me- this promised additional fish never arrived. •My beetroot smoothy was served in a small glass with a lot of foam and very little juice itself. It appears to me, that overall that the portion spices of Wagamama have shrunk whilst the prices have not. The service is not attentive and it isn’t enough to employ young and nice to look at staff whilst they can’t do their job properly. It is so important to receive customer satisfaction because bad news spreads quicker than good that is a fact and it is really difficult not to say bluntly stupid to argue about facts. I guess we should have known when we come in because the restaurant was half empty with no queue…. I do not recommend this Wagamama for the above reasons and told our family and friends who live near by to give it a wide berth.

Always good in all respects here, and there is proper comfortable seating, unlike the squashed-in benches and refectory tables of other branches. We have a person who has food intolerances, and they made very sure that this was covered. Definitely a regular dining place for us.

Friday afternoon very quiet with no queues but the food is still awesomely expensive and tasty. It's the only place I can get my 8 year old to try something new. The whole menu is its lovely including the vegan options. Service was quick and friendly.

Couldn't cater for pork allergy, wouldn't evan try, Wife now poorly all evaning because food was cooked in same area as pork. It's not hard to clean a surface before preparing a different meal, you should be doing that anyway.

The food was nice and the staff who served us was very helpful. I love that the kitchen staff worked well and everyone was working in sync doing their part of the job. This was very nice to see. The only problem I had was I saw one kitchen staff actually picked the noodles with their hand and putting the noodles in the pan to be cooked which put me off slightly. I don’t see why the kitchen staff can’t wear gloves or handle food with kitchen utensils. It puts me off eating the food. Other than that it was great.

It was crowded and noisy. Poor service. Took ages to get served, but once ordered, the dish came in good time. Ordered a prawn and chicken yaki soba noodle dish. There were only 4 small chicken pieces and 4 prawns! Couldn't see any egg in it either, and very few of the other ingredients. The dish was mainly noodles and it was tasteless. A positive was that when I mentioned it to the waitress, I was given an extra portion of chicken and prawns to add to the noodles and it was on the house.

Since Jamie, Steve & Tracy have taken over this pub has gone from great to amazing! Their bingo nights are so much fun, their quiz nights are great (bar 1 team) and the food....the food is brilliant!! Such a lovely safe environment to be in. Good drinks selection too. Absolutely loved our evening at The Lion, Fareham. A proper little gem of a boozer — the staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming, and the vibe was warm and relaxed. The live band was fantastic called No Weddings. Great pub to drop into if you’re after somewhere local, casual and full of character. Will definitely be back!

Went for a Sunday roast based on reviews and was one of the most superb I’ve had! I had no idea this was just down the road and am thrilled. Had the beef brisket that was moist and tender, lovely gravy, perfect parsnips and roast spuds. Also then steamed broccoli and creamed leeks. Wonderfully presented, and brought to table by the chef himself- he and all staff were lovely.

What an excellent evening. I heard on the grapevine that a new bike night was starting up so I popped along, with a few friends. We received an amazing welcome from the staff and the locals, and we ordered the Bike night special, Burger and Chips twice for £19.95. But what a burger, hand crafted and built to order, yup just tell em what you want on your burger and they will sort it 😉 Served with a generous portion of skins on chips, delicious 😋 And all those pretty bikes to look at. We will definitely pop in again before the end of season.

Just a quick visit ...tagged on to final day of holiday and visit to Porchester Castle so headed for the coast for a stroll...Nice welcome had just missed warm food service time up to 2pm but that was fine for us as we only wanted drinks and cake or ice cream. Lovely selection of both. Dog friendly, sat in the little sheltered beach hut style huts which afforded a view of the sea still. Massive chunks of cake and good value. 3 cakes and cold drinks just a little over £20.

Popped in for lunch whilst on a walk by the sea. Lovely simple menu with lots of gluten free options. Friendly staff and reasonable prices.

First visit to this lovely area after a walk in and around the Meon shore. Had a breakfast, first class ingredients in an attentive comfortable environment. Restaurant is split into areas, dog friendly in the front part. I thought it was good value for the quality of the food. Breakfast menu until 11.30 I think but a good varied menu otherwise. Will definitely return. Car parking at rear, said it was for the boozer opposite but don’t think it’s particularly monitored, otherwise on street parking too.

Just had a lunch break here with my Wife n Niece (she was asleep though!). I had the brunch with 2 of the biggest best sausages ever put on a breakfast! The cream tea was spot on and milkshakes amazing (try the Biscoff). The Afternoon teas looked really good someone next to us had ordered one. Dogs are allowed they even have a small food menu for them! Kitchen stops at 1400, but cakes are available through till 1600. With the tea party in Lee closed now this is a ideal alternative. Parking is for the pub opposite but plenty of space along the road.

Total lack of customer focus. Having walked for an hour to get there, told as they'd been 'a bit busy' a couple of minutes ago they'd stopped serving food early. Wouldn't start again for nearly an hour. Explained we were on foot. Suggested we walk back for an hour to where we'd come from to nearest cafe! Unbelievable. Would avoid anywhere with that approach to customer service.

5* all the way! The atmosphere is ambient and the waitresses are humble and friendly. We just enjoyed the most incredible goats cheese crossing starter with heritage tomatoes, we shared one serving and that was fine, followed by spinach and ricotta tortellini - clearly made from scratch, cooked in the Italian al dente style, with an incredible heritage tomato, parsley and samphire sauce. Magnificent!

We had a nice meal here, dad had lasagna which he enjoyed very much, except the salad which he doesn't like much . I had chicken on flatbread which was covered in tangy sauce, didn't like the flatbread much and not enough chicken with more salad mixed in. Tasty but next time I'll be going for another choice. Chips were well cooked and tasty.Lovely location next to marina, free parking for customers. Friendly service not too much going on to judge the atmosphere.

Absolutely delicious!!! We tried the Sunday roasts (one turkey one sirloin beef) and they were both so so good. Meat was soft and tasty, as all the other ingredients. Quality was great for very reasonable prices, staff was lovely and we got our food so quickly. We also got garlic bread which was very good and fresh. I highly suggest the place, loved everything about it and definitely will go back!! Such nice atmosphere.

Great experience at Castle in the Air. Nice little out along the water. Mixed crowd. The food was excellent. The chicken and ham pie was really fantastic. The service was prompt and friendly. Will be returning.

We were out on a walk. A short walk along the England Coast path and Castle in the Air was a good culminating activity 😅 (We did about 10,000 steps that day) Situated near the Fareham marina, Castle in the Air had a very homey feel and touch to the place. Not a lot of people when we visited but they got busy during that time too as it was the day after Christmas. We had a pint of guinnes each and just to help with my mood, i tried their salt beef and cheddar toastie. It was AMAZING! I had it with fries and it was perfectly seasoned with flaky sea salt. It was served with a side salad and its beautiful dressing. It was a sourdough toastie that gave a lovely crust and held its contents together -- not soggy at all. The cheddar was melting and thr richness was balanced with pickled red onions. Perfect pair for my guinnes I believe. Lovely staff, good portion sizes. LaOrient is an absolute gem! From the moment we arrived, John the host made us feel right at home. He’s incredibly friendly, attentive, and clearly loves making sure everyone has a great experience – the service is genuinely second to none. We had the Wesley set menu, which was fantastic value. It includes a choice of 5 starters and 3 mains from a great selection, plus a duck course served between courses – a really nice touch! Everything was delicious, but the standout for me was the salt & chilli chicken and chicken curry – packed with flavour and just the right amount of kick (be warned, it’s got a little heat!). We left full and happy, and John kindly offered us takeaway tubs for the bits we couldn’t quite manage. We’ll 100% be back again soon – and next time we’re bringing friends. Highly recommend if you’re in the Fareham area!

I came here with my boyfriend for our anniversary dinner and we had a lovely evening in this local family-run restaurant. The food was beautifully presented and was served piping hot straight from the kitchen. We had a selection of dim sum and prawn toast for starters, which really hit the spot. The chilli beef was the highlight for us! One of the best things about supporting local businesses is the people; the owner John is super friendly and attentive all the way through our meal. The barman even treated us to some Japanese plum wine and we were able to select our own cups, which was a nice touch! I would highly recommend this place and will definitely come back again.

Always a pleasure. The host John is fantastic and attentive, always asks how you are and makes the meal feel special. Set menus are a great value for money with plenty of food, and there’s a brilliant range of dishes besides them too. Really reasonable prices and a beautiful restaurant.

Our go to Chinese. So much nicer than the standard cheap Chinese restaurants. Worth paying a bit extra to get some really delicious food. Service is always welcoming and friendly too.

Lovely pub looks bigger on the inside, friendly service at bar and the waitress very respectful of your boundaries. I had a meal with my dad who had lasagne whilst I had scampi on the 2 for less than £12 ! Well worth the money and good quality ingredients. Parking very easy on the side shared with the co-OP. Great atmosphere not too busy on a Saturday evening. Sports TV'S with pool table and darts board too.

I visited The Cuckoo Pint last night for dinner with my partner. We were greeted by a lovely young lady at the bar who welcomed us warmly, let us know we could sit wherever we liked, and checked if we were familiar with how to order. A great first impression! When we went to the bar to order drinks, it was quite busy, so there was a bit of a wait, but the same lady served us and was incredibly friendly and clearly doing her absolute best despite being on her own. Her positive attitude really stood out. We ordered food and were told there would be around a 45-minute wait, which we were fine with as we were happy to enjoy our drinks in the meantime. The food arrived as expected and was delivered by a young lad. He didn’t seem particularly enthusiastic, but given how busy it was, he looked understandably stressed, we appreciated that he was doing his job under pressure. We stayed for another drink before heading off and overall had a pleasant experience. The pub has a nice atmosphere and we’d definitely return. That said, it was clear the pub was very understaffed during our visit. Only two team members were running the whole place, which just isn’t enough for such a large and busy venue. It’s not fair on the staff, and it does affect the overall experience when wait times get long. Hopefully this is just a one-off, but it’s something worth looking into… it would be a shame to see such a nice pub lose custom because of staffing issues.

Popped into The Cuckoo Pint in Stubbington last night for a drink and was really impressed. Although it was quite busy and there was only one barmaid working, she handled it brilliantly, super friendly, efficient, and clearly great at her job. Despite the rush, she made sure everyone was served with a smile and kept the atmosphere upbeat. The pub itself has a warm, welcoming vibe with a nice mix of locals. It’s got that classic British pub charm and a good selection of drinks behind the bar. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area, I’ll be back for sure!

Great meal with the family to celebrate my mum's birthday. The food was hot and tasted great. The service was friendly and welcoming My only minor issue was I asked for my steak to be medium- rare but it came medium - well. That said it wasn't tough and still tasted fantastic.

I had come in for a drink at around lunchtime this afternoon after an early finish at work. I frequent the local pubs in the area often, today I had thought I'd pop in to the Cuckoo Pint... The young lady serving me was ever so polite and nice to chat to, however my spirits were quickly dampened when, whom I assume is the manager or owner, brought the atmosphere down by humiliating and degrading her colleagues, making me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome... The pub looks lovely on the inside, lots of stuff to do and people to talk too... and there is lots of potential, but I fear the superiors will be the downfall of this pub if the attitude towards their employees isn't corrected.

New to the area so we reserved a table for our Sunday evening meal. Booking in the bar staff failed to tell us that we needed to order our food at the bar. A waiter who also kept walking backwards and forward to the only other table that were eating also didn’t say anything. We waited nearly 20 mins eventually going to the bar ourselves and asking. The food, 2 roast dinners weren’t too long in arriving but the carrots included were dark orange mushy slices that tasted disgusting. The broccoli on the other hand was almost raw so much so that I couldn’t cut it with my knife. We complained and were bought replacements. However by then most of the rest of our meals were eaten so it’s a bit miserable eating a lot of vegetables on their own. The carrots were better but the broccoli again was still somewhat crunchy to eat. We decided not to order a dessert. As we were finishing our drinks a lady came to review the set up of the tables for the next day. She proceeded to shout instructions to the staff across the dining room. Oh dear not a good first experience of what will be one of our local pubs! Sorry the Cuckoo Pint but you could do better!!!

Nice pub. Friendly staff, who seemed rushed. Was busy when we visited and service was slow - didn't mind too much between courses for having a gap to order dessert, but plates weren't cleared. Food was tasty, but kitchen had run out of haddock, not that late in the evening and salmon was overcooked and a little dry. When it came to ordering desserts, they had run out of trifle. Would certainly visit again.

Amazing roast dinner. +Brilliantly cooked and every bit was full of flavour. +Generous portion of rich gravy. +Potatoes were soft and fluffy on inside with a nice crispness on the outside. +Beef was really good - not fatty +Turkey was very good - not dry. FYI this style carrot is meant to be served with skin on and tops & tails. One negative point - Children's play area needs some tlc. Bit of cleaning, put screws fully in, put the mats level and re-spread the wood chips (or whatever they are) around evenly. Will definitely visit again for another roast dinner.

Food was good & reasonably priced but the place was a bit on the quiet and gloomy side. Clean and tidy but dated decor. Staff are friendly & helpful. Beer choices were limited & bog standard. Green Thai curry was spicy & the chicken Cesar salad was lovely. There was plenty of tables to choose from on a Friday evening.

Great free house. If you like real ale they have a good selection. Highly recommend if you want a quiet drink in a friendly atmosphere.

Family reunion from various different cities so googled for reviews and found this place. The worst, watery curries that seven of us have ever eaten, to the point that we didn’t actually eat it. The pathia had zero taste, the pilau rice was yellow, the keema naan was lacking the keema….. you get the picture. The poppadoms were great, however they would be considering they were fried from a packet. The mint sauce was watery and filled with coriander. Just avoid. Literally, swerve this place as it’s rancid

Long standing eatery with parking in the adjacent roadway outside. All meals are prepared on site and are available for take away or sit down. There is a small bar area for diners, awaiting meal collection or available seating. The menu is varied and can be adapted to taste on request. A rare place in the surrounding area in which to enjoy a sit down meal.

A friendly, cosy place in St Mary's church, Portchester Castle. Great location. The home-made pies are amazing! Lots of other home-made cakes and pastries on offer. There is also the healthier option of quiche and salad. All at fantastic prices!

Never been here before and came across it today by chance. There were eight of us, 6 adults and 2 children, 1 of whom has severe nut and dairy allergies. There was something here for all of us and he could even have a pie as it was vegan! Made us all happy he could have something nice. The sausage plait was the best I have ever eaten and the mint aero cheesecake was homemade and delicious. We’re so pleased we came here and were proud to tell our friends we lived nearby this little gem. The whole staff were fantastic and even helped bring our order outside to the garden. We will definitely come back and cannot recommend this tea room highly enough.

Anniversary lunch for a Diamond wedding (60th). Food was locally made by Ron, nice selection of sandwiches and cakes, bottomless tea or coffee. As two of the party did not want sandwiches, extra cake and savoury pastries were laid on. The food was exceptional, a special table was made up in one of the transepts. Service both friendly and prompt. Highly recommended, order in advance if for a special occasion.

Came across this church cafe in the grounds of Portchester Castle by accident. The location is stunning. The home cooked food is delicious and the staff lovely. If you’re in that area visit them - you won’t be disappointed!

Quaint tea room attached to the church. We had cakes, tea and coffee. The cakes were superb. The place seems to be run by volunteers and it gave a friendly and wholesome vibe. Was very glad we stopped there - a bit of a hidden gem to be honest. You can eat in the tea room or in the back of the attached church. I recommend the latter!

Just moved to the area so this is our new local. Lovely charming pub with a lake on its doorstep. Spent around £12 for two drinks (Guinness and a Single measure Gin with Lemonade). Will be coming again to sit outside when the weather is nice. Have yet to try the food but have heard from a lot of people the roasts are to die for so will be excited to try this out soon.

A proper pub, not a gastro pub, that also does really good, inexpensive food. Beers are a well kept London pride and a guest ale. Dog friendly in the bar and garden but not the carpeted lounge so specify dogs if you're booking. Very small car park with street parking nearby. We had steak and ale pie, liver and bacon, and scampi and chips. Generous portions and tasty. Various chocolate sponges and brownies, and a cheesecake were also excellent.

We have visited here several times now. We sit in the bar as we have a dog, so this area is dog friendly, we can't comment on the restaurant. The food is always hot, fresh, and plentiful. Always served with a friendly chat and news about the menu specials. The pies are great! My Dad had the steak and kidney pudding yesterday!

The four of us at lunch today were 100% happy. Very friendly welcome, our food was served promptly and we all thoroughly enjoyed everything whilst apologising for not being able to empty our plates. Absolutely recommend the Steak Mushroom and Ale pie, but please starve yourself for 24 hours before hand. I was ashamed to leave so many chips and veg!!!! (My wife loved her liver and bacon but still couldn't finish even her 'smaller' portion.)

Me and my husband would 100% recommend this treasure of a pub to anyone. Whether you're going for tasty food or a catch up with friend's, it's perfect. I would also recommend the Sunday roast. Gale cook's the roast dinner's to perfection. The portion's are very generous and there's plenty of mixed veg and even cauliflower cheese. Always a warm atmosphere and lovely friendly staff who always make us feel at home.

A really nice and tidy tea room. The decor and staff were nice and the price was great. I had the breakfast and my wife had the avocado and eggs on toast, both where very nice. Gluten free bread was available on request.

We attended today as a birthday high tea for our 11 year old daughter and 11 of her friends. The tea room was such a lovely environment to host a little gathering. The sandwiches and cakes were delicious, and the girls thoroughly enjoyed pouring their squash from the posh tea pots, and choosing their food from the cake stands. Fatima the owner was lovely from initial phone call to throughout the tea. She really went above and beyond to make sure preferences and intolerances were catered for. Thank you again Fatima. My daughter and her friends really enjoyed this experience.

We visited today with high tea for two voucher gifted by a student. It was empty except for us. The lady was very friendly and we ordered our options. It was nicely presented but the jam was cheap little packets and basic plastic packets of cream. The scones were not fresh and both slices of cake were dry on the outer edges. Upon opening the cream for the scones it was mouldy. It was covered in condensation inside showing that it had been going off. Reported to the lady who offered other pots however each one also had blue mould present. There was no best before date on the tubs. There was a slight apology however the issue was blamed on the manufacturers, despite stating they had been delivered last Thursday (6 days by this time) clearly there is an issue with the refrigerator or they were older than stated. We were offered butter sachets as a replacement . This then put us off eating the rest of the chicken and bacon sandwiches (I had already eaten some) in case they weren’t fresh or been refrigerated in the correct way. Our pot of tea was also forgotten until we asked.The lady then proceeded to call the cream manufacturer on speakerphone to report the issue while we were still eating. There was no compensation for the issue such as a token of apology (we also spent money on other drinks and a lunch) and no profuse apologies just blame on the manufacturer. A real shame and I hate to write bad reviews for small businesses but this was unacceptable

We had a fantastic afternoon celebrating our Shelleys baby shower today at the Vintage Tea Room Fatima was really lovely , beautiful afternoon tea and plenty to take home in goodie boxes , was the perfect venue .... we will definitely be back . Well worth a visit if you haven't been already . Thanks again for being a fantastic host and letting us come early to set up and decorate .

When you have the most insane craving for a roast dinner… a visit to the sir Joseph paxton sent that craving packing…. great meats, perfectly cooked veg, roasted potatoes Yorkshire and that GRAVY!

This is our new favourite place to come, whether it's just for a drink in the beer garden or for a Sunday roast. We have brought our parents here and met up with friends, it is so welcoming and the staff are extremely friendly. The food portions are generous and they welcome dogs with snacks and water bowls available for our four-legged friends. The kids also love the play frame outside!

Lovely little pub. Nice atmosphere, good drinks and food is nice. Garden space is good and is dog freindly with biscuits behind the bar for the fluffy friends. Pool table darts and slot machine to keep you busy. No designated disabled bays that I could see, but never had a problem finding space with enough room. Overall i would recommend

Had a roast dinner , pre ordered the meat, at time of booking as it was a 5pm booking. Meal arrived and it was huge, 4 large roast potatoes, lots of meat, veg big hugs of home made gravy. Staff friendly, lovely homemade dinner. Will come again

My wife and I spontaneously decided to have a look at Stones Cafe while looking for somewhere to eat. As you do, we looked at the menu prices outside first. We could certainly say the prices were reasonable. As soon as we entered, you were greeted with plenty of space, a well decorated cafe that was certainly clean. We made our way to the table of our choice and again looked over the menu. The breakfast choices were limited. However, this may not be a bad thing, as this generally does ensure that the less there is on the menu, the better quality it will be. Once my wife and I decided what to eat and drink, I made my way to the counter where I was greeted by a friendly server who assisted me with my choices. Once payment was made the drinks did not follow far behind which I took to the table. As my wife and I were chatting, the staff were doing some cleaning to ensure everything was at its best. This made us happy to see and you can tell that they care about the Cafe. Our food did not follow far behind and came to us within 15 minutes. We both ordered an English Breakfast and we are happy to say it was a well prepared and served breakfast. By no means was it greasy and nothing tasted as if it was frozen or had been sat there for a while. I would certainly come back here again and even bring my family.

Drop in if you want raw, uncooked pork sausages for kids meals with little to no care from the staff. According to the staff "a sausage is cooked if the outside is crispy" regardless of the raw meat on the inside, I'd recommend going anywhere else. If you have no choice ALWAYS CHECK THEIR MEAT IS COOKED and save yourself the food poisoning. Needless to say we wouldn't recommend and won't be returning.

I had an omelette and chips. i wouldn't say there were chips! Hardly any! The omelette was passable but wouldn't eat here again! The staff are not attentive and when I went to order it he carried on cleaning his coffee machine first. I wouldn't eat here again

I came in 5 minutes before the end of service for 2 pensioner meals Asked if that was ok and they said yes they could cook them Itherwise we would have taken larger fish The batter was slimy and only just cooked. I believe that the pans may have been turned off for end day and that our fish was cooked in oil not hot enough.

A lovely beach day visit almost ruined at the end by a trip to Stubbington Fish & Chips. Aside the rip off prices, customer service was appalling and below standard. The servers are actually trying their best in my opinion but the owner is stood over their shoulders with a straight face, patronising and bossy attitude saying no to any favours or courtesies. You could immediately tell he is a typical micro manager who hasn’t empowered his staff with independence of professional thought and confidence to do their job excellently. I initially asked for a small amount of vinegar, and before the attendant could ask him, he butted in saying no. Secondly l expected food to be served in a box or at least asked if l wanted this option? When l asked if l could have a box with the meal l bought, the attendant had to go and ask the manager? Thats says a lot! He then shoots straight to the Till and you can imagine what he came purporting…you’ve got to pay bla bla bla. This is the first F&C l’ve visited and had to pay for the box carrying the fish l just bought for circa £13! Food is average to be fair, however didn’t get the salt l asked for. And truly, haddock from my city is way bigger and tastes a whole lot better for almost half the price! When you read through the reviews you’d notice the owner is simply a rude guy, and that has been picked up by several people - a smile and some friendliness doesn’t cost anything and makes the world a better place!

Quite simply the best fish and chips I've had as long as I can remember. Came here as it was Monday and most of the sea front restaurants were shut so decided to grab fish and chips and take them to the Solent sea front. Really glad we did and couldn't imagine a restaurant could do better. Will definatley visit next time!

If we are going to spend the day or evening at Meon Beach, we often pick up fish n chips from here. Taste delicious, good sized portions and come in a box which is perfect for the beach and easily recyclable too.

Service is always good here. However, we came to realise after leaving that bacon had been missing from both big breakfasts! Also some of the breakfast was hot and some cold. The plates had not been warmed so the hot parts got cold very quickly. Overall the food was nice but just need to receive everything that we paid for and maybe warm the plates. Very dog friendly treating ours to a pup cup and provided a bowl of water.

How ridiculous! I made an enquiry to book a table for 5 people. Rather than most restaurants who willingly accept your business I was told someone would be in touch. I then had a message to say they only take bookings for 6+ people. Our recently widowed friend was very upset that her dead husband couldn't make up the numbers. Shocking customer care.

A good selection of freshly cooked food served with a smile. Decor is eclectic with mismatched chairs, a variety of individually decorated tables and some interesting pictures on the walls. They have a range of games and colouring materials for restless children or adults.

Great place to go, a good vibe and the menu is varied with a vegan selection too. They were really kind with our 7 month old and all the staff were really lovely. Wish we could book a table of less than 6 people, but only got turned away once because they were full.

Lovely café. Visited for breakfast twice now and would highly recommend. Friendly family run with excellent food and coffee. I had the avocado on Rye with 2 poached eggs with extra bacon. Fantastic!

What a lovely shop with great coffee! We visit them today and enjoy our coffee (flat white & Piccolo Latte) and food (veg soup & artisan bread) 1st star: Helpful and friendly staff. The lady that served us seems passionate to ensure all order is correct and the customer gets the best. 2nd star: Other than the door needing some adjustment (hard to open/close) the shop is clean and tidy. Good vibe. 3rd star: The coffee is great! We reckon can be considered the best coffee in Fareham. 4th star: Service is good. Easy to order and get it within an acceptable time. 5th star: Overall, we enjoy our visit and the food. Will consider a revisit and try another menu they had. If you guys are around, it's recommended to visit and try them.

Popped in for a hot drink whilst we waited for the car at the garage. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel very welcome. We had hot chocolates, which were tasty. When we left, they also said goodbye with a smile. Honestly, such happiness and warmth can set someone off on a lovely day.

We love it here, it's one of our favourite places for breakfast. However, sadly the food has gone downhill recently. I'm not sure if they have a new chef but it all feels as if it's been deep fried. I used to feel it was quite a good choice to eat healthily so we were a bit disappointed.

Excellent coffee and food, best in Fareham. Very welcoming staff and always a pleasure to spend time here, my favourite place and for my Dad too. Very good choice of artisan options, cakes and pastries - would strongly recommend the avocado and poached eggs, omelettes and breakfasts, all delicious and cooked to perfection. Definitely worth a visit if not tried before.

By far the best Indian food in Fareham and the surrounding areas. Chef is a genius! If you love depth of flavour, spice and aromatics then you will not be disappointed. I have ordered at weekends and mid week and the food is consistently above par. Collection only so no chance of a table but my word the food is so good.

Finally a good Indian I have found in the area! I have been so disappointed with every Indian near Waltham chase so branched out here and finally found an Indian that has amazing flavour, tender chicken and friendly service. Really great find!

The BEST food ever, always freshly cooked and delicious. The whole experience from ordering to eating is friendly and brilliant. I should have written a review before but the benefit now is that I can say that having had a curry from Baburchi most weekends for the last 3 years (we know what we like) it is consistently good, we have never had a bad one!

Tonight we had Chicken Pathia and some other sundries, it was fantastic. So full of flavour with just the right amount of heat (I like mine on the spicy side) I would definitely recommend this takeaway, had many of their different dishes and not been disappointed by any.

This is the first time having food from this takeaway. It is the best food i've had for a long time. It was tasty and good portions. I will deffinately be ordering from here again. Perfect curry

Wow, what an amazing restaurant - they do an excellent Kashmir, proper, with lychee, banana and pineapple... I have never tasted anything more delicious... some coconut rice and a pashwari naan. I was very, very hungry and asked if he could deliver soon. He said they can despite being busy. Very helpful staff on the phone ordering delivery - fast, efficient and mouth watering delicious, I can only highly recommend!

Ordered a takeaway for delivery. Was absolutely beautiful! Me and my partners order was very reasonably priced, tasted amazing and came in good time. We ordered two curries, a mixed starter, garlic nann, popadoms and mango chutney and only spent £35! Will definitely order again!

I’ve used Sea of Spice for 20 to 30 years. Beginning when it operated from the rear of the fish & chip two doors along West Street. I have always found its food to be of excellent quality. However, unusually, I ordered on a Saturday after an unusual long period of time for numerous reasons. I was sad to discover the meal provided was as bad it can get! The bindi was brown and cooked and stored. For how long, it was anyone guess. The onion bargi had been refried. The mixed fried rice tasted old and the main curry dish was truly awful. I tasted and threw away. Goodbye!

I don't usually write reviews online but I felt particularly let down. I spent over £10 on just a tikka masalla curry and a peshawri naan bread, and while the portion sizes were reasonable, I'm disappointed in the food. The naan seemed to be slightly chewy and undercooked and needed me to put it in the oven for a bit longer, and a lot of it didn't taste like a peshawri naan and more like plain, but the bits that did taste like peshawri were really good. The curry was the worst bit, the tikka masalla I received didn't taste like one to me, and mixed in with my own rice it didn't even really taste of much and barely overtook the flavour of the rice I prepared, and it was watery too. I genuinely believe that previous curries I've had from Aldi jars were just as nice. The one redeeming quality is that the staff seemed polite and the speed of service was good. It's a shame because I have never had a bad experience when eating curry from an Indian takeaway but this is one my one time. I don't know if this was just a one off, but I hope it was.

From online order to arriving at our door took 20 minutes, food piping hot, all dishes amazingly tasty, cannot recommend them enough, will definitely order from here again! A very nice well awaited visit. We all enjoyed the quality and value. Lots of choices on the menu. No license for alcohol. You can take your own alcohol to enjoy with your curry. The service and friendly staff make it a pleasant visit. Only down side if your fussy, the place could do with a face lift, especially the toilets.

Average, feel it is overrated, kebab/chippy. Cod was ok, batter was good.Definitely not the worst around here though. Paid £4.50 for a (3 person chips) but say it was a two person portion. Also cash only, somehow. Been here plenty of times before but remember it being better.

Was driving through and stopped off for a quick coffee. The coffee was surprisingly very good. Strong and full of flavour. I ended up getting an omelette as well, with no problems with anything. I didn't see anything that was dirty. I'd recommend it for a short break.

Cafe Mendos has become my staple Saturday breakfast when I'm in the area. You will be given a warm welcome by the team and they serve your standard range of cafe food. I go for a mega 3 breakfast (pictured), which goes down a treat. Hash browns are crispy, choice of drinks and toast/fried bread. Good value for the size of portions given. Food is cooked to order and service is friendly. When I take a little one with me, they always make sure to address them and make them feel welcome too. High chairs available. It's located behind the hand car wash, near to B and M. If you like a full English, I would recommend!

passed this several times over the years and decided to pop in one Saturday lunchtime. OMG what a find. Food was cooked to order & delicious, service and attention of staff was superb. Absolutely spotless including the toilets. Great VFM we had all day breakfast which was served on a platter- food was hot & tasted as good as it looked.

Very poor quality of fish and chips . Cod over cooked and inedible . The pies were also awful, pastry had gone hard and was unable to eat it . The chips soggy and difficult to get off the wrapping so most thrown away. Waited 20mins which is the problem but they are not very friendly. No one eles waiting so not busy , although only one person serving. I have been to this fish and chip shop a few times. It used to be nice but the last few times it has been awful. I don't live locally only use it when visiting my mother. Quite embarrassed to serve her this for lunch , she is 90 and it was inedible. Will not be returning. Cost £23 ,

As septuagenarian I have passed by many times on the way to the pharmacy. So on a warm night and discovering it was open, I tried a small cod and small chips at £10.50. Unfortunately, both items were cooked long ago and had dried out. The batter on the cod was extremely thick. The unappetising chips portion were four times the amount I could eat. Will not return.

The fish and chips I've had from here has always been good. It's a well run shop, and always seems to being doing a good trade.

Food was spectacular and most importantly the curry sauce came in a wide pot making it much easier to use. Service was fantastic, had to wait for the fish to be cooked and the server was very polite about it and it was ready precisely when she it would be. 10/10 fish and chips.

I have only gotten a take away, however both times the food was hot and delicious. No photos as it was take away and I ate it right away, very goooood. The dinning area is very comfortable, and would be great to being a laptop and work a bit with breakfast and coffee. That's on my next visit plan. Give Cafe Ethos a try and it may turn out to be your new favorite spot.

The best baguette I've ever had. It had a garlic mayo sauce(?) in it. Tasted amazing. I also had a milkshake too but definitely have a baguette if you have time. It was made to order and the best

What a disappointing second visit :( My coffee was scolding hot and def not a latte as no foam on top, tongue still throbbing and it was a tiny sip 12 hours ago. Toastie with salad s/b salad with toastie. Must be using the smallest loaf ever! And the cheesecake base was rock hard. Got through it out of sheer determination as I had already injected for the carbs. Not going back

WOW ... This place is AMAZING. I can highly recommend. The Best breakfast I've ever had. Extremely tasty all cooked to perfection and top quality ingredients also such a great portion size And Lovely FRESH juice. The Staff are superb so friendly and happy and the atmosphere is very welcoming. The whole premises is EXCEPTIONALLY clean I dropped something and noticed the floor is spotless. Very modern and light airy so much choice can't fault it. Left feeling very happy and very full. 10/10

Wife and friend had lunch here yesterday. Said food hot and delicious. Latte was hot and actually tasted like a Latte. Took piece coffee walnut cake home for me which was yummy

We received our pizza delivery and the toppings were really sparse, we are talking no bbq sauce on a bbq chicken, barely any cheese, less than a single mushroom in a £1.70 topping, about 2 peices of ham in a £1.70 topping. A whole punnet of mushrooms costs less than that at the supermarket! We also received a burnt brownie that didn't fill the tray. We complained to the store and provided photos and were offered 50 percent off our next order - well we can get that deal anytime on the website! So we contacted customer service who said we could have free pizza next order. When we phoned to order they told us there was nothing on record for us, so we went back to customer service who said case was closed! We are absolutely appalled! What's a free pizza to keep customers sweet when they give 50 percent discounts all day long?! Especially when already granted but didn't keep their word! We were regular customers, we are no longer customers, we'll be using small businesses instead!

Was scared to order after reading reviews. But there is my experience: Make a pre-order for late evening, pizza and chicken was in time . Everything was hot and tasty . Nothing wrong with it. Forget to take a photo, but will make it next time and will update my review. Thanks !

£45 for 2 medium pizzas, a pappadia and a couple of sides. At this price I would expect restaurant quality but this place was a real disappointment. None the extras we asked for were on the pizzas and they were over done with few of the highlighlight ingredients. Worst of all was the Philly Cheese Steak - had too look hard for the steak to differentiate it from the onion. Nothing like the picture. Local pub or Three Joes way better and cheaper to boot. Avoiding this place like the plague now.

Ordered recently, but because UBER took forever to collect it the food arrived cold after a long wait for delivery after the tracking said food was cooked. Called restaurant whilst waiting and asked to confirm food would be fresh and hot and they said it would be, but UBER took their sweet time. Called them again after delivery to say food was not hot and to their credit they apologised and sent the whole order again free of charge. I mostly blame UBER for the problem, but Papa John's shouldn't cook the food until a driver has accepted collection. Because they sent food again and it was hot the second time and it was tasty it worked out in the end. Maybe use another delivery partner though?

I don't even think the option for a thin pizza base is this thin. We ordered cheese stuffed pizza and normally its 2-3 times thicker but this has happened several times now. The pizza looks more depressed than me so come on. It's definitely not worth £24 and the manager was unhelpful and didn't seem to care.

Very sparse cheese and toppings on both pizzas. I ordered a BBQ chicken and got about 8 small pieces of chicken and NO sauce. My sister ordered a create your own ham, mushroom and olive at nearly £2 per topping. Again, very sparse. Chocolate brownie was burnt. VERY disappointed in the Fareham store. When I complained to customer services I was then called personally by the duty manager at the Fareham branch who said they would put a code on my phone number for a free large pizza on my next order. When I ordered again by phone there was no code on the system and they weren't willing to honour it even though I have it in writing and on a voicemail.

I recently picked up a takeout order from start to finish, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. When I called to place my order, the person who took my call was polite and professional. My food was ready right on time when I arrived to pick it up. The manager greeted me with a smile and double checked that my order was correct before handing it over. He is very good at his job. The employees working the takeout counter thanked me for choosing Papa John's and wished me a good rest of my day. For fast, friendly service along with tasty pizza, I highly recommend getting takeout from this Papa John's location. The staff's warm hospitality makes the experience that much better.
