Located in a large glass enclosure on the street, In The Kitchen with Bob Waggoner is a dinner party experience focused on cooking class. From knife skills to fish and dessert preparations, guests learn quickly and easily while enjoying a delicious meal prepared by the famous chef.
Wow, I didn’t know I could cook so well! Well it’s not everyday that you get to take instructions from an award winning, famous Chef Bob Waggoner either. This was such an amazing experience, Chef Bob’s personality and entertaining stories only further enhances the experience 😂. My wife and I enjoyed this experience with some friends. This would be a great idea for an anniversary or birthday dinner instead of the ole dinner @ a restaurant.
Terry S — Google review
Our experience with Chef Bob was incredible. His class was informative and fun and he had a great sense of humor. Our courses were Shrimp, Lamb, and a Pear Tart-all of which were delicious. We were greeted with a glass of bubbly, and tried 3 other wines during the night. The venue was impressive and well suited for hosting. We hope to return again and try something new!
Nathan P — Google review
Absolutely incredible experience with amazing food. Chef Bob taught us how to handle utensils, make beef broth, cook seafood and meat, and introduced us to new seasonings and vegetables. He is knowledgeable, entertaining, and creates a wonderful experience!! We will definitely come back next time we are in Charleston. It's a must do when you come to Charleston!
Kim M — Google review
The best experience we did on our baby moon. So worth it and we left full and happy with new friends. Chef Bob is knowledgeable and so down to earth. Highly recommend!

10/10 experience. Amazing time last night with Chef Bob! Start to finish just a great time. Greeted with a glass of bubbly. Chef Bob takes you through a 3 course meal, with wine pairings. He breaks down how simple it can be to make amazing food. Knife skills, prep work, cooking technique. He also is a master story teller and keeps everyone engaged. on a personal level.

Wow! What an incredible dinner with Chef Bob Wagner! Easily one of the best dining experiences in Charleston! You are the Sous Chef cooking a 3-course meal under the direction and watchful eye one of the best Chefs in town. Highly recommend, just be sure to book reservations way in advance.

This is our second class. We loved every class so much. Bob is just fantastic! The setting is amazing, his teaching is gentle, not pushy. The food is amazing, the wine is fabulous, and it is truly a marvelous evening. Would recommend this to anyone for a special night out!

Nestled in the heart of Charleston, Zero George is a charming boutique hotel that beautifully marries history with modern luxury. Housed in meticulously restored 1800s townhouses and carriage houses, this elegant retreat features lush courtyards and inviting verandas that enhance its European flair. With 16 tastefully designed guest rooms adorned with soothing white furnishings, guests can unwind in style while enjoying complimentary breakfast each morning.
Zero George was an amazing experience for our anniversary trip and first time to Charleston. The service from everyone who works there was top-tier and helpful. Their location is great and close to anywhere you'd like to go, either biking or walking. Definitely try the Caviar Bar! Morning breakfast and coffee was always fresh. Everyone made our stay so nice and welcoming and we will be back :)

Visited with my sister this past week. I’ve had this hotel on my list of “Must Visit” hotels for years, and said the next time I came to Charleston, I’d stay here. Pros: The hotel itself was even better than what I had envisioned. The grounds are charming and magical, and love the somewhat all inclusive feel to it, with free wine and cheese hour + free breakfast. The rooms are well appointed with waters, cookies, and great robes. I absolutely loved the property. Cons: The service was lacking, and not 5-star. Bad experience with some of the staff. We did the tasting menu with an 830 pm reservation, and was rushed through it, and lights being turned off while still eating. Had a not so great interaction with a bartender who snapped at me when I asked if they had a martini list, and felt we were being judged at check in/check out, but did have great experiences with some of the staff. So it wasn’t all bad. If I didn’t love the hotel grounds so much, I’d probably not come back, but because I loved the vibe of the hotel so much, and location, I’ll come back again and give it another shot on my next trip to Charleston.

The best hotel in the world — Zero George, Charleston. There are beautiful hotels, and then there is Zero George — a place that feels like a perfectly written story you never want to end. From the moment you step inside, everything here breathes quiet elegance and southern charm. The courtyard with its jasmine-scented air, the creaking wooden floors, the slow rhythm of the city outside the gates — it all feels like time has gently stopped to let you rest and enjoy. The service is pure perfection: warm, discreet, and deeply personal. You feel like everyone here genuinely cares about your comfort, but never overdoes it. Breakfast in the garden is a ritual — homemade granola, fresh pastries, and the kind of coffee that makes you want to linger for hours. The rooms are filled with light and character, every detail thoughtfully chosen — from the linen bedding to the vintage-inspired lighting. And of course, the restaurant. Dining here is an experience that rivals Michelin stars — seasonal, creative, and full of soul. I’ve stayed in many beautiful places, but Zero George is in a category of its own. It’s not just a hotel — it’s a feeling you’ll want to carry with you long after you’ve left.
Kristina Z — Google review
Best stay I've had anywhere. The property is absolutely stunning & the service is top notch. All of the staff were so friendly and accommodating. We stayed in one of the Anson suites - loved how oversized it was & having a separate vanity room to do makeup and get ready in. The room was stocked with carafes of water and a nespresso machine. We had a huge semi-private patio that we ate breakfast on each morning. The bed and linens were incredibly comfortable. There are 2 cleaning services per day and they bring fresh baked cookies, fresh carafes of water, ear buds and slippers with the turn down service at night. So many items were branded with their logo, which made all the details feel intentional. There is a white noise machine in the room. We made a reservation at the caviar bar and were able to order one of the items from the tasting menu. Everything was so good, I can't wait to come back and do the testing menu. There is also complimentary wine & charcuterie at 5PM each day - you can sit in the gardens/courtyard. The location is about a 10 minute walk from most things downtown. We uber'ed at night and didn't have any issues. Highly recommend, I can't wait to return!
Mariella R — Google review
This is the best hotel in Charleston but let me clarify. If you're looking for a quaint, historic hotel, you can't go wrong with this place. If you're expecting a more modern hotel with all the accoutrements that come with large, five-star experiences, you may be left wanting. Most people who visit Charleston are doing it to experience the history of the city. There's no better way to do that than staying at this hotel which absolutely oozes authenticity. The five interconnected Federal houses are absolutely beautiful. While you're a relatively easy walk from the middle of everything, nothing is really right at your doorstep. Bicycles make the journey easier and much more enjoyable. The restaurant at this hotel is superb, but it's expensive, and reservations are essential.

We stayed at Zero George for our anniversary and we absolutely loved our stay here. The property was beautifully maintained and is a great place for couples to stay. The location of the property is another great added advantage as well as it is very easy to either walk or bike to downtown Charleston. From the general hospitality, to extremely quick and prompt responses to any requests from our own end and the little touches such as cookies as soon as we arrived, to a luggage tag souvenir at the end when we were leaving the place made sure we will remember Zero George for a long time. Lastly, the breakfast also deserves an honorable mention as it was extremely fresh and tasty.
Apoorva G — Google review
The food is so good, almost indescribable. Their ability to fuse taste, texture, and temperature is amazing. Tried the 6-course food tasting with wine pairing. Sommelier could not have done a better job with the pairing. Worth every cent!
Kieran H — Google review
11/10 dining experience! My husband and I enjoyed the tasting menu, add caviar, add wine pairings, add waygu and it was absolutely incredible. The level of service the staff upholds is chefs kiss. Worth every penny! We can’t wait to come back and see the next tasting menu they create. Cannot say more about how wonderful our culinary experience was!

A Charleston Must-Do – Food, History & Hospitality at Its Best! This tour with Chef Forrest was an unforgettable highlight of our trip to Charleston! From the moment we met him, Forrest’s warm personality, passion for storytelling, and perfectly-timed dad jokes set the tone for a fantastic day. The walking portion of the tour was rich with history—Forrest brings the city to life with deep knowledge and genuine love for Charleston. But the real magic happened in the kitchen. The 3-course meal he prepared was absolutely phenomenal—fresh, local, and bursting with flavor. Every dish felt like it had a story, and he shared each one with the same enthusiasm and charm that made the whole experience so personal. We had one vegetarian in our group, and Forrest went out of his way to accommodate with thoughtful, creative alternatives that were just as delicious as the main menu. It truly meant a lot and showed the level of care he puts into every guest’s experience. This tour is the perfect blend of culture, cuisine, and connection. We’re already planning to do it again on our next visit—it’s that good!
Neeshal D — Google review
What an absolutely amazing tour. Chef Forrest knew Charleston’s history and he gave us the good bad and the ugly. He did not sugarcoat. He told history that most do not talk about anymore. I like how he tied in food and history and I loved his sense of humor. Once we finished the walking tour we went to a charming space and watched Chef work his magic. He prepared our lunch in front of us and then paired each dish with wine. The food was authentic and out of this work delicious. The ingredients were local and the taste tickled my taste buds. This tour is well worth the value and I will be doing this tour again. Chef truly pulled off a work of art with this tour. I definitely can say “Well done Chef”. We were here celebrating my mom’s and daughter’s birthdays and Chef made their day so special. Thanks again chef for a wonderful tour.
Jennifer F — Google review
This is an incredible food and walking tour with Chef Forrest! The lunch he prepared and the wine pairing were simply the best you’ll ever have. You’ll love his information on historic Charleston and his humor. The day ends with incredible food and conversation! Isn’t that what Charleston is all about! We loved it!!!!

My wife and I enjoyed this tour very much ! Chef Forrest gave a great historical tour of the area and made sure to keep us out of the crazy heat going on during our stay. After the tour, we sat down in his bistro and he cooked us very delicious meal and discussed the ingredients, and the process while making the meal. We highly recommend this tour and we will definitely do this again !

I was in Charleston recently on a girls trip celebrating my friend’s birthday. This tour was highly recommended and it didn’t disappoint. It was truly a highlight of our trip! Chef Forrest gave us a fascinating tour full of history, stories and a wealth of information on the culinary experience in Charleston. The second half of the tour Chef prepared an incredible multi course meal right in front of us. It was the most amazing meal! A great balance of history, food and a personalized experience thanks to Chef Forrest. I highly recommend this tour and look forward to trying some of the recipes!
Suzanne H — Google review
I can’t tell you how much we enjoyed the tour. I grew up in South Carolina thought I knew a little something about Charleston, but realized how much I did not know. This is not a typical history tour, but a tour through the historical parts while learning about the food of Charleston and what made the culture of Charleston. Ended up back at the chef’s place where I had one of the best traditional Charleston meals with a twist that I’ve ever had.
Jeff F — Google review
Just an absolutely wonderful experience. Next time we are back in Charleston, we're going again. The tour was great, but the food let me tell you was out of this world. Chef Forrest is a master in the kitchen and a wealth of knowledge about the city's history. He is also hilarious and just a fun person to be around. Thank you Chef!
Seth D — Google review
We have lived in the Charleston area for 11 years and this was the best experience we’ve ever had! Chef Forrest is bright, engaging, funny and has great knowledge of the Lowcountry history and cuisine. As great as the walking tour was, lunch was even better! Southern cooking using the best ingredients and prepared perfectly. And the wine pairings were on point. Gazpacho soup/salad (yes, it’s a thing!) and shrimp and grits with the best bacon and the Hugenot torte for dessert. Do yourself a favor and get thee to Undiscovered Charleston!

Love this place! Found a great Mother’s Day gift and they offered to gift wrap it for no charge. The employees are happy and obviously really enjoy what they do, as well as being knowledgeable about the products they sell.

We stopped by to check out their selection of Big Green Eggs and I was pleased to see they had many different size variations and possible configurations on display. We spoke to John who was very knowledgeable about grills/smokers. When we asked about the available accessories for the Egg (there are many) he helped us figure out what we really needed versus could do without. I appreciated that he didn't try to upsell us with things we didn't need. He was never pushy, just friendly and incredibly informative. My husband and I highly recommend shopping here for anything, but especially grilling equipment.

Middleton Place is a historic plantation located about fifteen miles northwest of Charleston, with roots dating back to the 1730s. Once home to the influential Middleton family, it holds significant historical value as the residence of notable figures such as Henry Middleton and Arthur Middleton, who played key roles in American history. The property suffered damage during various conflicts, including being ransacked by British troops and burned by Union soldiers.
I was completely impressed by the value for the price of the tickets both for the general admission and the house tour. The grounds are not only gorgeous, but all the staff are knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating. I spent the better part of a day there meandering through at my own pace. Will absolutely return whenever possible!
Audra M — Google review
I highly recommend purchasing tickets in advance. It made the entrance easy and was able to plan ahead to think about what guided tours we wanted to do in advance. The grounds at Middleton are gorgeous! We learned about the Middleton family, some of the people who worked on the plantation through the years and the historical significance of plantation in shaping history. I wished the docent were more explicit about why the black slaves did not runaway or when they did the harsh repercussions. There was vert discussion about the psychological scarring of slavery and the fear instilled upon all.
Rachael N — Google review
It’s like taking a step back in time when entering this rice plantation. The gardens are kept in a way that you can feel the history and age. The knowledge from the staff and the few tours we did was impressive. We spent about 4hrs doing two small tours and enjoying the grounds.
David R — Google review
I’m really glad I had the opportunity to visit this plantation. Its story is at the heart of America’s colonial beginnings. Several tours are included with the price of admission and I appreciated their Garden Tour as well as their Beyond Slavery Tour. Whether your walking the grounds, coming for lunch, or learning it’s deep history, one could easily spend the day here.
Lisa — Google review
My daughters and I visited yesterday. We took the Beyond the Fields tour, about the Enslaved People's experience, with Linda. We all found it to be very informative and even emotional. The property is well preserved and tended and the docents are quite knowledgeable. The Middleton Oak is magnificent. Being mid-August, the weather was hot and humid which, combined with an approaching thunderstorm, cut our visit short. We agreed that our visit was a highlight of the trip.
Tara B — Google review
This place is absolutely beautiful and the guides are great! Put on your walking shoes and prepare to see alligators. I would like to see access to the house included in admission price as it is not cheap. Also please have sandwiches/wraps in snack bar that is at entrance.
Suzanne K — Google review
We were in town from Michigan to attend a Sunday wedding. The wind was very strong and the temperature really dropped. The wedding was held outside by the large trees. It was very scenic but quite a walk from the parking lot to spot wearing high heels. The parlor where the reception was held was a bit overwhelmed by the number of guests. There were no cocktail tables to place snacks and cocktails prior to the reception starting. The food was great and the bartenders were very attentive. It was a romantic spot for a wedding but from a logistics perspective, very challenging to get transportation to and from our hotel. Guests had to take the shuttle to and from the venue. The reception ended by 10:30 PM to account for the return shuttles to the hotel. Family and friends made it a wonderful event.
Olga L — Google review
I could have spent days here instead of just a few hours. The vast grounds offer dazzling landscapes. There are tours and stories about the generations of families who lived here, both the enslaved and the plantation owners. It is a trip back in time.

The Restaurant at Zero George is an upscale eatery located in a quaint and intimate hotel setting. The hotel features 16 rooms and suites nestled in historic residences with lush gardens, offering a clean contemporary style and friendly Southern hospitality. Guests can enjoy complimentary wine and cheese on the porch each evening, as well as a continental breakfast featuring biscuits from Callie's Hot Little Biscuit.
My wife and I had the pleasure of celebrating our 6th wedding anniversary at The Restaurant at Zero George, and it was truly a magical evening. From the moment we arrived, the setting felt intimate and special, the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to savor every detail of the experience. Our server, Ray, was outstanding—professional, attentive, and warm. He guided us seamlessly through the evening, striking the perfect balance of attentiveness without ever being intrusive. His thoughtful service elevated the experience and made us feel genuinely celebrated on our special night. The tasting menu itself was a work of art. Each course was beautifully presented and showcased an incredible blend of flavors, textures, and creativity. It was clear that every dish required an exceptional level of skill and precision. We were also touched that the chef provided us with a signed copy of the evening’s menu—such a thoughtful detail that added to the magic of the night. We are deeply grateful to the chef and his team for giving us the opportunity to experience their culinary artistry. Zero George is more than dinner—it is an unforgettable journey of food and hospitality.

This is a lovely restaurant with thoughtful, creative dishes and wonderful staff. Come with an open mind and try everything. The bar serves outstanding craft cocktails. If you aren't sure how to eat a dish, just ask - the staff are happy to help. I would put this restaurant at the top of my Charleston list, you won't be disappointed.

If this restaurant doesn't get a Michelin star next week, I will be surprised and disappointed. The experience was fantastic despite my high expectations. Staff was engaging and welcoming. Servers were very helpful with descriptions and suggestions. And the Sommelier was knowledgeable. We enjoyed the 7 course tasting menu with elevated wine pairings. It was not a meal, but a pleasant journey. And contrary to the typical Michelin 4 hour dinner, the pace here at Zero was perfect, approx 2 hrs. Our table room was quiet and easy to converse. I would have liked something printed to take with me describing food/wine we enjoyed.

We returned to Zero George to celebrate my mother’s birthday, and once again, the team delivered an extraordinary experience. From the inventive fall cocktail menu (the shiitake martini is genius!) to the thoughtful attention paid by the staff to my octogenarian mother, every detail felt curated and intentional. The meal began with a series of stunning small bites — true edible art — and continued with beautifully composed courses. The wagyu cigar remains one of the most delightful amuse-bouches in the Southeast, and the red shrimp dish was a masterclass in unexpected flavor pairings. The halibut with persimmon was perfectly cooked, and the wagyu sirloin with porcini and chestnut was bold and decadent. My only regret was not adding on the A5 wagyu, as my son is still talking about it from our last visit! Desserts were just as creative, with the shortcake and its balsamic center standing out as a highlight. The service was as gracious as the food was exquisite, and the entire evening left my mother reminiscing about fine meals past — from Cyprus to Seoul to Barcelona. That’s the caliber of experience Zero George delivers. An absolute gem. We already can’t wait to return.

We did the cooking demonstration at Zero George and had a wonderful experience. Chef Vinson Petrillo is clearly passionate about food and creating an experience for guests. We really enjoyed watching his craft and most importantly the food was delicious. My only critique is that the portions were small and there were not 'wine pairings' you were just handed a bottle of wine. Other than that one very small critique we cannot wait to return to try the full course tasting menu at Zero George.

The ambiance is superb and my dinner was one of the best meals I have had. Sophisticated and chic with elegance of historical Charleston as the backdrop. The night I went was a set menu with drinks or mock tails. Believe me the mock tails were in some cases better than the set alcohol drinks. The executive chef is a master of his craft & I wish I lived closer so I could experience the food more often.

Definitely five star restaurant. Food is so good and service so attentive. It was rainy night, we had great time. Fixed menu, $145 each person, my ten year old daughter enjoyed it. She ordered herself caviar, it was good.

Bakehouse Charleston is a charming bakery located in the historic district of Charleston. It offers a variety of sweet and savory baked goods, including cakes, cookies, tarts, and brownies. In addition to custom-roasted coffee, the bakery has recently introduced locally crafted beer to its menu. The interior is clean and tastefully decorated, providing a cozy atmosphere for visitors to relax and enjoy their treats.
If you’re wanting a sweet treat this is definitely the spot! I recommend the s’mores bar and asking for it to be warmed up. The key lime pie is also delicious!! Staff was so friendly and personable. A very laid back coffee shop compared to the hustle and bustle of down town Charleston!! This will definitely be a regular spot for us on our trips here!

The tall gentleman who brought hot chocolate to us, was very nice and friendly. I’m sorry to leave a mess for you to clean. 🙏 The paper cup is the softest, most wobbly paper cup, the card board ring is way too loose to stay in place. When I grabbed my drink, the paper bent, hot chocolate spilled out onto me, I had to rush off back to my hotel to shower and change. Not to mention the mild burn 🔥 To the owner: you shouldn’t cut corners in these cheap, soft paper cups. I’m sure I’m not the first one this accident has happened to. Really messed up our plan for the day.

First and definitely LAST visit. Staff barely smiled. Seats are all worn out. I ordered a biscuit, hot chocolate and cappuccino. Drinks were hot… that was the best part of it. I unfortunately discovered that all sandwiches are premade and just warmed up in the microwave….big, HUGE disappointment! Don’t recommend this place to anyone at all! If I was given the option, I would give a negative star to this place 😐

Alternative milks available. Friendly service. Their pastries look amazing. Good coffee.

This is a functional little spot, and while the atmosphere suggests it's way past due for an update, the coffee itself was the saving grace. I had the Cortado, and it was not too bad—it was prepared well and hit the spot. I appreciated the focus on the drink quality. Given the overall look of the place, it won't be my first choice to return, and I'm not sure if I would choose to eat here. However, if you are looking for a quick and decent cup of coffee and don't mind the dated environment, it will certainly get the job done.

Stunner of an experience! Barista was very helpful and gave great recommendations. Key lime pie was very good. 9.5/10. Cold brew coffee was so refreshing and freshly made. 100% recommend stopping by for a sweet treat!

Looking for a cozy and quiet bakery? baked house is your place. { 5🌟} I went June 11, 2025 and it was incredible. The vibe of the little bakery was so refreshing and it was quiet which was perfect to edit some photos and relax after a hot day. I ordered the biscuit and the funfetti cookie both were really yummy. I loved the softness and it was THE perfect cookie. The staff were super cool and very sweet the lady with black hair complimented my LPS purse was incredible sweet. The environment was really nice, tables were clean, food was scrumptious and it was a 10/10 will definitely be back soon. Props to the staff again they were lovely!! I unfortunately did not get their names

Ordered a latte and a cap. They have a good machine (La Marzocco), but both of our drinks were steamed way to hot, machine may be over tuned, but it was not drinkable for over 20 min. I burned my tongue badly. The milk was clearly over steamed as it did not create any volume in the espresso, it was thin. Pastry was great.

Spanish restaurant
Located in the Cannonborough-Elliotborough neighborhood of Charleston, Malagón is a Spanish taperia known for its elegant interior and European-style dining experience. The restaurant's design features marble tabletops, industrial lighting fixtures, and antique oil paintings against a backdrop of moody black accents. With a focus on shareable snacking rather than traditional coursed meals, the dining experience at Malagón offers an array of Spanish tapas and dishes that arrive in a somewhat chaotic yet exciting manner.
Incredible for lunch or dinner — a must-dine if you're looking for a quaint atmosphere! The flavors of the dishes are just spot on and hit after hit! Malagón is a market and tapería with offerings focus exclusively on Spanish cuisine. It's a small restaurant but the patio is really nice to sit at and enjoy on a mild summer evening. Must order: Iberian Ham (so incredibly tender with a sweet and smoky flavor) Asparagus with Anchovies Bread Paella Patatas Bravas Malagón is the sister restaurant of Chez Nous, which is a block and a half away.

Overall I think the food here was good but not great. There were elements of each dish that I loved though. We got the ensalada to start, and it was too overdressed for my tastes, and greens themselves too bitter, resulting in just a very acidic bitter experience. The chorizo spread was great and I loved the rolls, but just wish I got more rolls. Pulpo was amazing, but the chickpeas were just fine. I did enjoy the chorizo wrapped with squid though, that one was probably my favorite. The chorizo was flavor packed and squid was a nice contrast.

First experience for dinner on a Friday and it was awesome! The staff was great and knowledgeable. The dinner was fantastic. We got the chicken to share, juicy and delicious. The shareable we tried were also fantastic. We tried rabbit for the first time. Thank you to Justin for making this a memorable experience

Celebrated my belated birthday with my husband tonight at Malagón. This was my second time dining here, but it had been many years since my last visit, and it absolutely lived up to the new Michelin Star hype. They don’t have a full bar—beer, cider, sherry, and wine only—so if you’re craving a cocktail before dinner, I’d recommend stopping at one of the nearby spots within walking distance like we did. The restaurant itself is quite tiny, especially when the weather doesn’t allow for outdoor seating, so definitely plan ahead and make a reservation. The vibe is intimate and charming with that old-world European feel, aside from the fact that the guests are American 😉. The tapas-style menu ranges from small snacks to shareable plates, and it changes frequently, so don’t get your heart set on any one dish. We started with the white asparagus and anchovy sauce, the house bread with goat cheese topped with sopressata (think Spanish pizza). From there, we enjoyed the marinated pork steak, the red wine–braised beef cheek—which was both crispy and meltingly tender—and the crab squid ink rice. That rice was easily one of the best bites of food I’ve had all year. Even though we were stuffed, we couldn’t resist dessert. The Basque cheesecake, paired with a dessert wine Nolan recommended, was otherworldly. My husband, who (unlike me) rarely gets emotional about food, literally closed his eyes and went silent mid-bite. It was that good—one of the best desserts either of us have ever had. Yes, dining in Charleston is expensive these days, but when it’s an experience like this, every penny feels justified.
Jill S — Google review
I finally came back here after a year before they received a Michelin star and the food does not disappoint. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable, and the ambiance is always inviting. We brought in some of our own wines and they kindly poured it for us course by course. We enjoyed some light meats and cheeses, then some perfectly cooked duck and beef roast that was fork tender. And to end it on a sweet note, we had the infamous basque cheesecake which was perfect. It was a great time with friends, food and wine. 🍷

The culinary creativity of this establishment is as competitive as any restaurant I’ve eaten at in the United States. The flavor and the complexity, combined with varied texture’s on the palate makes for a very impressive menu. Tasted 8 items loved them all as simple as prosciutto wrapped dates with Allmond spectacular, gonna steal the recipe.:) Best cheesecake you will ever eat. The wrinkled potatoes. Wow
Paul F — Google review
This was my first Michelin-star dining experience, so I arrived genuinely excited. The atmosphere was warm and intimate with dim lighting, and the staff were consistently friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, the food didn’t quite live up to the anticipation. While nothing was poorly prepared, several dishes felt like they were missing a bit of refinement or uniqueness. For Malagón's reputation, I expected flavors or presentations that stood out, but most plates landed somewhere between good and forgettable. The standout of the evening was the marinated lamb—perfectly cooked with a great char and depth of flavor. Beyond that, the rest of the meal didn’t leave much of an impression. Overall, it was a pleasant evening, but not a memorable one. I’m glad I tried it, but next time I think I’ll explore other options.

H & L Asian Market is a hidden gem that offers an authentic Asian experience without any frills. It's like stepping into an Asian mall with a food court serving delicious, no-nonsense cuisine. The market boasts an extensive sauce and condiment aisle to meet all your Asian cooking needs. Additionally, it features a small lunch counter serving authentic pho.
Our go-to market for all our favorite Asian dishes. The produce selection is phenomenal. The frozen foods section is ample stocking buns, dumplings, fish cakes, wrappers, etc. You can find anything from noodles to spices and condiments to snacks as well as homegoods. Meats available including fish. Prices are reasonable.

This Asian grocery store is truly a hidden gem—tucked away but absolutely worth seeking out. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by the rich, aromatic scents of spices and herbs that hint at the culinary treasures waiting inside. The store is impressively stocked with an incredible variety of items that are hard to find in typical supermarkets. From specialty noodles and exotic sauces to fresh produce and frozen dumplings, the selection is both diverse and authentic. Whether you're looking for ingredients to make traditional dishes from scratch or simply hoping to explore new flavors, this store has something to offer every adventurous cook. They also carry unique snacks, teas, and sweets from across Asia, making every visit feel like a mini cultural exploration. The prices are excellent—far more affordable than larger chains—and the quality of the goods is consistently high. The staff is friendly and helpful, always ready to point you toward what you need or recommend something new to try. If you enjoy cooking international cuisine or just want to expand your pantry with hard-to-find ingredients, this store is a must-visit. It's one of those places that, once you discover it, becomes a regular stop on your shopping routine.

My favorite Asian Market in Charleston!! When we lived in Georgia we used to shop at Super H Mart. It was basically this but 3 times the size. We loved that place. But it was so expensive!! This market may be smaller, but it has everything we are looking for and more! What's more? Did i mention it is MUCH cheaper than our old Asian Super Market. I did not. This is an excellent spot to shop for Asian goods.

We stopped into purchase a wok that will be used to cook outside. This is the second one that we have purchased from this particular store. One of them we gave is a gift . The one we got today is huge and made of really good material. Everyone is nice when you walk in. The store is always clean and the shelves always seem to be stocked pretty well . This particular store has almost everything you would think should be in a store like this - from kitchenware to seafood to spices to meds. You can also get a hot meal in their deli type area with seating . There is lots of fresh seafood , on ice, in the back in the back of the store. The store is kid friendly and shares the parking lot with many other stores. It is in a shopping center right off of Rivers Avenue. Plenty of assessable parking is available.

El Molino Supermarket is a hidden gem in the Charleston area, renowned for its authentic Mexican offerings. This charming market features one of the few tortillerias in town, ensuring that their tacos are served on freshly made tortillas crafted earlier that day. Local restaurants even rely on El Molino for their weekly supply of these delicious tortillas, which are essential to creating mouthwatering dishes. Taco Tuesdays at El Molino are a must-try experience!
So delicious! Got the tacos birria, steak nachos el molino, steak quesadilla, and torta cubana and it was soooo much food but I was feeling like a feast. Faves were probably the nachos. Queso and both green sauces so hot and delicious. Fresh limes and cukes with everything. Highly recc! Big portions and great flavors for the bucks.

It was the food reviews for me. I was running errands, and needed to eat. I came across taco review before, and never went. Its an ethnic grocery like you would imagine, but I came for there Cooked/prepared food instead. To my surprise they were busy, people waiting on orders, and people dining in. You have good mix of ethnic back grounds, and locals which is usually a good tell, tell sign the food is good. I had the birria torta, amazing. All the components were just right soft toasted bread, beef had great flavor, creaminess of the avocado, birria drippings on the side, and the spicy hot sauce all worked together. Only 4 stars because it cant beat El Paso,TX. I will be back...great local find.

I was here shopping 45 minutes before close at the local market I often walk to from my house over the last year. After waiting for the women to finish serving the drinks/deserts by the entrance she told me and my fiancé to leave because she was closed and turned off the lights. We instead got some candy to go with our purchase and waited in line to check out and she began laughing with her coworker. While waiting in line two more customers went to the exact spot we waited at and I joked to my fiancé the woman would probably serve them and not us. After 3 minutes of her walking around and wiping her fingers on her nose with no gloves, that same women served those customers drinks and rang them out, so I suppose we were just the wrong color/orientation to be served here. (We just wanted a pre-packaged item so this could have taken 30 seconds of her time) You should be better than this, it’s 2025 and you’re in a tourist city. I then went up the road and spent almost $50 on groceries similar to what I left at el molino’s register instead at food lion because I’d rather support a major chain at this point.
Jayme A — Google review
El Molino is easily one of the best spots in Charleston for authentic Mexican food. I stop by often for their birria tacos, and they are always on point--tender, flavorful, and packed with rich broth. Definitely the best birria in town. The service is fast and efficient. It's not a full-service restaurant, but the staff is always friendly and gets orders out quickly. As for ambiance, it's more of a market than a sit-down spot, but that adds to the authenticity. It feels like a hidden gem, and you can also pick up great ingredients to take home. If you're looking for legit Mexican food in Charleston, this is the place!
Alex M — Google review

We visited on May 18 with high expectations for an abundance of fresh produce only to find it was mostly an arts and crafts market. The arts and crafts were beautifully hand made and a good variety, from jewelry to clothing to wood working. There were very few fresh produce vendors. Five stars for arts and crafts but two stars for fresh farm products.

Also, depending what vendor you're coming to see, be wary about coming later on - Vendors do run out of stuff if it's packed, so come early.

Located in Charleston, goat.sheep.cow has two delightful locations on Church Street and Meeting Street. Both spots offer an extensive wine selection and specialty market items such as cheeses, meats, and olives. The Church Street location serves sandwiches from Tuesday to Friday while both locations provide custom cheese boards. Owned by Patty Floersheimer and Trudi Wagner, this establishment is known for its delicate cheeses, fine meats, and imported wines to create the perfect charcuterie board.
Was recommended to try and get one of their famous sandwiches they only make a certain number a day. So I got there before they opened and managed to snag one. It was $14 so a little more than I thought, but worth it. The sandwich was 100% fresh and flavorful. Being limited likely added to they hype, but would do it again.

Wow! Why has it taken me so long to visit this place?! We’ve lived downtown for almost 10 years now and I’ve always heard great things about this place. My bestie came into town and was looking for RAW milk and cheese options. When we stepped in, they were so nice and accommodating there. I wish I caught the girl’s name who helped us-but we asked for her recommendation on a charcuterie spread (since we had no idea how to pair there, how much to get for the 3 of us, etc) She considered our preferences and got everything taken care of for us! We were pleasantly surprised at the $40 and we also got a delicious can of pickles-yes they’re all gone now, everything was devoured that evening!! The cheeses were Soooooo good! She really gave us some good ones!! I couldn’t even pick a favorite because I loved them all equally and they all had different tastes and complexities!! The Cana del cabra was a RAW almost Brie like cheese with a slight mushroom taste, the manchego is made from sheep’s milk and was so good on its own! And the alp blossom which was another raw cheese with edible blossom rind-omg 🤤. And she paired it with spec and finocchiona meats. Just heavenly. The food and the experience and customer service there just made us customers for life. Thank you so much!!

Spiced Culinary Creations LLC, led by local chef Elissa Childers, offers a delightful food delivery service. The menu features mouthwatering dishes like shrimp and grits casserole with robust shrimp, cherry tomatoes, and andouille sausage over creamy grits. Customers rave about the exceptional experience from communication to service to clean up. The stuffed mushrooms, crab cakes, and oyster fritters are all delicious starters.
To say I am grateful for Chef Katie is an understatement. I was put in charge of finding someone to cater my sister’s micro wedding, which, would be fine aside from the fact that almost everyone has different dietary restrictions and expectations, and of course it was on a tight timeline. Chef Katie did not just deliver, she went above and beyond. Communication was a breeze, as she kept me in the loop and worked with me every step of the way. The food, well, she nailed it. I am not exaggerating when I say the pickiest of eaters were so impressed they could not stop talking about “the caterer, wow”! Everything was so fresh (including from her own garden) and appropriately seasoned, it melted in your mouth. From the cocktail hour to the sit down meal- salad and all, the flavors stood out and were delicious! Everyone fell silent during the meal, savoring each bite and wanted the recipes by the end; which is a tall request in this family! We are so grateful for Chef Katie and Miss Amy. While I am not from the area, I would not hesitate to hire her again and am even looking for a reason to return so I can enjoy another meal prepared by her. She certainly has a gift! Thank you for being a part of my sister’s day, we so appreciate you.

Chef Katie gave us an unforgettable experience with her exceptional cooking demo! She combined incredible culinary skills with clear explanations, making the session both fun and educational for the whole family. The dishes were absolutely delicious, and we can’t wait to book them again! It was seriously the best paella I’ve ever had. She was also very accommodating with all food allergies.

Spiced Culinary Creations was absolutely fantastic! From the communication to the food to the service to the clean up, it was such an exceptional experience. We started off with the stuffed mushrooms, crab cakes and oyster fritters and couldn’t decide which was our favorite because they were all so yummy. Then we had the she crab bisque and said it was the best y of us had ever had by far. The main entree was the scallops with risotto and not only was it cooked perfectly, but it was also very unique. For dessert we had the carrot cake and it was so moist. We were absolutely floored by all the delicious food. Not only was the food good, but the clean up was impeccable. It was left even cleaner than when they arrived. Something we did not expect was the service our kids received. Both chefs were so great with all four small children (ages 2-9) and they loved all of the food as well! We cannot say enough wonderful things about this experience and would highly recommend Spiced Culinary Creations.

We had the pleasure of Chef Katie’s culinary talents at a ladies dinner our first night in Charleston. She was able to acclimate a rental spot into a beautiful dining atmosphere. From the prep, table settings to the amazing food it could not have been anymore delightful . . . and delicious! Charcuterie and wine then a beautiful 4 course menu. Thank you Katie and Amy for an unforgettable evening. Highly recommend!

Chef Katie was a dream to work with from start to finish. She understood our events culinary needs and worked with me to create the perfect menu for our cocktail party and saved me so much stress and prep. Our guests raved about the quality of the food she had prepared as well as the beautiful presentation. We will for sure use her services again in the future and highly recommend her for your next dinner party or event. Thank you so much again Katie!

Katie and her team were professional and so creative. We did a Christmas around the World dinner. Every course was perfect and tasty! They went above and beyond. We could not be more pleased!

We truly enjoyed Spiced Culinary Creations all of last week on the Isle of Palms, SC at the rented beach house where we celebrated our anniversary with our kids & grandkids. Chef Katie and her outstanding crew did the food shopping, preparation of gourmet meals and appetizers that looked and tasted great, served meals including breakfasts, taught a cooking class, and did kitchen cleanup. Chef Katie and her crew were warm and personable. When we were departing, she came by with a team member and took left over food to the food bank/kitchen. I do not recommend organizations or people lightly, and I hardily recommend Chef Katie and her team. Bob A.

I met Naama a few years ago , she was telling me a lot about her delicious desserts then. I always told her that when an opportunity came, I'd be calling her. I asked her about a cake at first, then settled on cupcakes. The customer service was amazing, and the cupcakes were devine. She was attentive and patient. I bought the cupcakes for my sister's birthday dinner. Her guest couldn't stop talking about them. Of course I'll be back, it was convenient. It was a simple and easy process. If you're thinking about ordering, it's going to be a good decision. Stop thinking about it, just do it. Thank you again for helping me surprise my sister Naama. And proud of your accomplishments with your business.
