Italian restaurant
Lollo Rosso Italia is a popular Italian restaurant in Morpeth, Northumberland. It has gained a strong reputation among locals and visitors alike. The restaurant offers a modern Greek dining experience and has been well-received since its opening on Christmas Eve 2018. Lollo Rosso Italia is ranked as one of the top restaurants in Morpeth, offering delicious Italian cuisine in a welcoming atmosphere.
Not being from the area and it being late in the evening on a Fri we stopped in and were seated immediately. It was busy and upstairs was half full however service was prompt & it wasn’t too loud. Food was excellent, hot & plentiful in portion size. Calzone was stuffed, crispy with a sumptuous tomato sauce on the side. Perfectly cooked pasta retaining its bite with an excellent balance of ingredients in the sauce. Sid of chips were crunchy & fluffy. The decor is modern, classsic, open & even the bathrooms are nice. You can see the pizza oven & prep. Also seen a private room for bigger parties but equally as cute a restaurant for an intimate date. Downstairs has a disabled bathroom.

Lovely food, staff made a mistake with 2 of our mains coming very late, but offered apologies and free drinks. When the food came they were huge portions and delicious
Tina H — Google review
What an amazing restaurant. The food and service are out of this world. We were away on holiday when we found it but would happily travel the hour and three-quarters that it is from our home just to eat here.
Amanda G — Google review
Lollo is our regular go to restaurant , food and staff always lovely but the Mother’s Day celebration menu this week is exceptional. Thank you to Enrico and all this hardworking team who always make our visit special.
Janet M — Google review
Great restaurant, been going for years. And they love a birthday! We go for a dinner just to get out and be casual for an hour or so, or quit often more formal with others and make a night of it there. They even have a cafe next door that does lovely coffee and some very nive quick food which is also very good.
Lindsey R — Google review
We had two great appetizers - meatballs and scallops - the meatballs had a little kick (spice) and the scallops were perfectly prepared. We capped it off with a pizza which was top notch. The food, the service, and the atmosphere were fantastic! Highly recommend - you won't be disappointed.

Lollo Rosso in Morpeth is hands down one of my all-time favourite restaurants – and it just keeps getting better and better. I’ve been coming here for years, and every visit reminds me why I love it so much. The food is absolutely gorgeous – always fresh, full of flavour, and beautifully presented. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, and it means so much that they always remember our preferences and go the extra mile to make us feel at home. Whether it’s a special occasion or a casual meal out, Lollo Rosso never disappoints. Highly recommend!
Suzanne T — Google review
What an amazing meal and fabulous customer service. My seafood linguine looked and tasted amazing. A generous portion with a variety of seafood. The pizza was delicious too, not to mention the tiramisu we squeezed in for dessert. We came following a recommendation from a customer in an antiques shop, and it was a great way to celebrate the last night of our holiday. We weren't disappointed. My only regret is that it's not closer to my home town! We will definitely make a special detour if we are anywhere close.

Thai restaurant
Restaurant
Nestled in the charming town of Morpeth, Nadon Thai offers a delightful escape into the world of authentic Thai cuisine. This restaurant prides itself on using imported spices to create traditional dishes that tantalize the taste buds. The ambiance is enhanced by modern Asian decor, making it a perfect spot for both dining in and takeout options.
A fantastic little Thai restaurant. Staff are friendly and helpful and the food is wonderful. Not a lot of places can equal the quality or the prices.
Neil K — Google review
I love the food here, closest taste i had to the real thing from when I visited Thailand. Staff are very friendly, food is reasonably priced especially for how delicious it is. The restaurant itself is quite small but has a nice cozy atmosphere and the place also offers collection. They may also deliver but I'm outside the radius so not 100% sure
Billy D — Google review
Absolutely gorgeous Thai food, we got the Thai green curry with egg rice and wine. We dined as a couple but have since returned multiple times with family. The staff are lovely, I would advise booking.
Victoria M — Google review
Amazing food, best red Thai curry I think I've ever had, including in Thailand. Pad Thai was also amazing. Mixed appetisers also brilliant. Don't be put off by the fact that it's upstairs! Setting is well presented and well cared for. Judging a food place by the toilets is always a good idea- these were spotless. We went on an issue Tuesday night whilst on holiday in the area, and it was quite busy even at 6pm. It lost a star as the service didn't hit the spot- slow at every point and we had a few problems getting the actual dishes we ordered. However the did is so good that I wouldn't let the service put you off- just about every food business I know is struggling for staff at the moment!
James P — Google review
Loved visiting Nadon Thai. The food was great, and so many options! I'll definitely need to return. The staff were really friendly and genuinely seemed to want you to have a good experience.
Megan G — Google review
We were taken aback by the young waitress who stomps around the place like a bull in a china shop, arrogant, disinterested, abrupt and so totally out of place in the hospitality business. One star added for the older lady who saved the day. Food was so so apart from the corn cakes which came drenched in oil.
B B — Google review
Great little restaurant. We didn't book but we still got in, even though they were quite busy. Staff were very polite and the food was served promptly. Food was of a very good standard. Nice sized portions and freshly cooked. We would go again if we were local!

Heartily recommended, friendly staff and family run, food is glorious and delicious, beautiful decor throughout and clean and tidy. We booked for 1900 and the place was ready for us, cosy seating in a side book authentic Turkish decor, cant speak highly enough, thanks for a great meal and drinks !!

We had a fantastic experience at this Turkish restaurant in Morpeth. The service was excellent from start to finish, and we were especially impressed by the owner and chef, who kindly kept the restaurant open later than planned to accommodate several late-arriving groups, including ours. The food was outstanding – the chicken shish was juicy and full of flavour, the Incik lamb shank was beautifully tender and rich, and the baklava was the perfect sweet finish. Highly recommended for both the food and the warm hospitality.
Andrew M — Google review
Lovely gem of a place. Food was delicious with gorgeous authentic food, we had the lunch special at great value. The service was great, very friendly. Highly recommend giving this place a try.

10/10 Me and my partner visited for a meal tonight and it did not disappoint. Food was amazing, staff were lovely and atmosphere was great. The new owners Serkan and his brothers are fantastic and couldn't have been any more welcoming and friendly. Had time to introduce themselves and chat to us. Looking forward to our next visit ! Thank you 😊

Our favourite spot for a sneaky work lunch. Chicken salad with feta cheese was delicious. 10/10 baklava for the sweet treat afterward. Thank you! Always great service with a smile! 😀
Sarah F — Google review
Great food and service! The place was quiet because of the time that we were eating so I haven't rated the atmosphere, but the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Would recommend.
Natalie M — Google review
Excellent food but apart from one other couple who were leaving as we arrived it was empty, so too quiet A man, the boss ? said 'eating late", it was only 8pm on a Wednesday and supposed to open until 10pm. The advertising boards outside were brought inside and a member of staff left. We felt like we were stopping them going home. The previous night at the Italian across the road it was only because we had booked rhat we managed to get a table. Also £12.80 for two half litre bottles of Efes was somewhat excessive.

I visited for the first time with my family, and we all had a lovely experience. Food was fantastic and a very warm welcome from the staff. We will definitely be back!

Consistently excellent food and service from a great family owned long established restaurant. Very reasonably priced and spotlessly clean Would not go anywhere else.
Simon F — Google review
I frequented this place many years ago and with being in area thought it would be nostalgic to go back. It was a mistake! Not sure where the 5star ratings come from but our experience was very poor on all counts :- - Food was very bland, the experience of eating Indian food is to taste the variety of spices and textures that the menus are written around. Not so with Morpeth’s Tandoori Mahal, mixed kebab starter was very poor very little flavour in all meats and tikka was not existent! Chicken chatt was laced with garam mosalla and very powdery. Mains no different Kashmiri had 3 sultana’s in the tasteless sauce, the banana was the flavour, albeit there was plenty chicken which was a reasonable quality. Chicken tikka and king prawn mosalla again weak flavour but plenty of meat although chicken had very poor tikka marinading. Both mushroom and vegetable pilau rices were disgraceful with very very little mushroom and vegetable in the bland although colourful rice. Nan breads saved the day but the meal was done because of how disappointing it was!! That said the whole experience was toatally let down by the service and attitude of what must have been the owner / manager / patron who was waiting on. Very ignorant, awful attitude as though he didn’t want us there, followed closely by whom appeared to be second in the line of hierarchy. The only pleasant member of staff appeared to be the waiter and table setter he made the effort to chat and was pleasant. All in all a very poor experience prime time on a Friday evening, sadly the last time we will visit Morpeths Tandoor Mahal and be treat to very poor food and nothing more than a cash cow for the patron/owners!!
Michael R — Google review
Excellent food and service. Restaurant clean and spacious. Been coming here for 15 years.
Andrew P — Google review
Menu prices at the door are different to those that they provide in the restaurant, classic Indians. They also write an illegible bill at the end so who knows what they're charging you, no stop. Flat lemonades and cokes for all tables. Decent food however, but almost certainly better options in Morpeth for a curry, oh ress.

Local cafe that serves top quality British food. Served by fast paced attentive staff with great attitudes and service. This hidden gem gets busy and only takes cash not card which is a lovely tradition. My children enjoyed their desserts and wanted to tip the staff a little for their hard work.

Oh this beautiful café is a real find, tucked away of the main drag, in a cute side street that goes on towards the Stepping Stones across the Wansbeck. We were given a really warm welcome and had our suitcases as we'd just arrived from Birmingham and our apartment wasn't ready. They were really lovely and accommodating. OMLETTES are on the menu !!!!💕🙏🏻💕🙏🏻💕🙏🏻💕🙏🏻💕 🥚 🪺 And they serve them all day !!! Mine was a double cheese and mushroom omlette and it was delicious. The Man had the Steak Pie and omg that isn't a pie, it's sensational - the meat is plentiful, melt in the mouth and the gravy is delicious, this is home cooked food like your grandma used to make, it's REAL, traditional food and tastes really good because it's high quality food! We had a trifle and a cheesecake for dessert, both were gorgeous and what we really loved, they were not full of sugar, like modern desserts are, these were just right. If you're sick of slick modern try-to-hard cafes, come here for some real soul, warm hearted banter and decent food 💕💗💕🌷🌼

On the way to Edinburgh we looked for somewhere to stop for breakfast. Amazing place, lovely lady serving us with yummy breakfast. Didn’t take picture of breakfast because we finished it so fast 😂 but managed to do coffee. Thank you and from us 5 out of 5

Absolutely outstanding food, if it was awarded Mitchellin Stars, it would get 6. Just like your nans home cooking without the ridiculous prices. Very popular but seats inside become available very quickly. Outside seating for the good weather. Staff are brilliant. Just behind the main street under the arch. Well worth the trip to Morpeth.

Really friendly cafe with seating outside for dogs. Our group of five split up and three were inside and two of us outside. There is an awning to cover you from the rain (and it was a bit miserable) and they extended it for us. The food was fresh and the homemade lentil and vegetable soup and a toastie hit the spot. I’m told the roast pork baps with roasties and gravy were delicious. Very friendly cafe and great food, what’s not to like

Called in for lunch today. Always a good sign when a cafe is busy. We had lentil and vegetable soup alongside a bacon, brie and cranberry baguette. The whole meal was delicious but I have never had such a perfectly prepared baguette. Everything about it was spot on. The atmosphere was lovely and the staff very friendly. Despite the toilet facilities being outside they were immaculate and everything you need including a baby changing area. We will definitely be back.

Fab little cafe. We had club sandwiches and they were absolutely amazing! We turned up just before 12 on a Saturday - which seemed a good thing as they got pretty busy very quickly! They had a little sign up inside saying they prefer if you can pay in cash, worth being aware of as we were unprepared. And while they happily took a card payment in the future I would bring cash.

This place is very nice and clean inside and outside where the toilets are. We had a very warm welcome, only one waitress but she did the service extremely well. Very attentive with all the tables. The main meal was excellent with all details, dessert cooked with love and very well presented. Prices where on the table and daily menu hunggin on the wall. Reasonable prices.

Had a delicious baguette, filled with caramelised onion, roast veg and grilled goats cheese, with some salad coleslaw and a few crisps. Husband had quiche. Tea to drink. Cannot recommend highly enough. Staff were busy but attentive and friendly. Cakes looked yummy. They prefer cash, no pressure and do accept cards. It's a cost thing and if it helps our independent cafe owners, great. There are ATMs near by. If in Morpeth go and enjoy yourselves there.

Took a trip to morpeth and came across this restaurant highly rate by Google maps and it was amazing. The service was fantastic, lovely selection of food and specials. It is upstairs so can be a problem for some but definitely worth a visit. We got the special starter scallops with black pudding, bacon and pea puree with a salad on the side😍 was amazing. We also tried the pate to start with great size portion s as you can see from our photos. We then got the arriabata and cajun beef strips pasta with a pizza garlic bread. Everything we tried was amazing and all the staff are lovely, would definately go back and recommend a visit if you are near by, we didn't even have to book which was great.

On a blustery summers day in in Morpeth me and my partner stumbled across this little hidden gem. Starved by a long walk around the river bank we craved a hearty Sunday lunch. Our attention grabbed by the board “3 course Sunday lunch for £8.95”, we climbed the stairs to reveal and elegant but cosy restaurant setting, greeted almost immediately by a staff member with a smile, further welcome by other staff as we were shown our seat. Expecting to be limited by the low price we were shown the special menu, to our surprise it offers multiple choices within the deal. It all sounds to good to be true but it’s not, it’s a real find. The food was prompt, pipping hot and in abundance, an indulgence but so worth it. Trust me, won’t get a better choice in this area.

Our third visit here in recent weeks. The consistency of the food quality is immense. My wife had the Chicken Gyros, she normally has the Pork, but decided on a change. The chicken was both succulent and crispy, so full of flavour. Complemented with a small portion of chips. Didnt realise how they managed to make the humble chip so nice and flavoursome, but they have. I had the Keflico for the second time, and it was amazing, just like the first one I had a few weeks ago. The lamb literally falls apart upon contact with your fork, and the flavours are off the scale. We had a side order of garlic bread with cheese. Again, I dont how they did it, but yet again the flavours put your senses to good use. We really can't rate this Taberna highly enough, we just wish we knew about it sooner, we've been missing out. Definitely going back. . . . And so should you!👍👍👍👍👍

Ordered a takeaway to collect from here tonight. I ordered the stuffed vine leaves as a starter, and the chicken Gyros as a main. First time I've had food from Niko's, and I'm pleased I ordered. The food was very nice indeed, and the service was on point. Friendly staff, clean and inviting looking restaurant. I wouldn't hesitate to order from here again. Five stars all round.

This was the first and last time my wife and I will have lunch at this place. It was about 1pm and we were shown to our table with a menu to share when we were sat “facing each other”! There were various options including 2 course promotions etc. As I like any steak so I went straight for the rump served with dauphinois potatoes, caramelised onions etc which seemed an excellent combination. My wife preferred fish and selected coley (subsequently discovered it’s cheap alternative for cod etc) with some accompaniments. I asked for medium since I hate rare with a passion. We were both quite hungry by the time our meals arrived and we were both a little underwhelmed when they did. For me and the rest of the world dauphinois potatoes are quite distinctive sliced potatoes cooked and served in a rich white sauce not what you can see in the picture below. The steak however looked okay until I tried to cut it and I realised that whilst rare meat is usually very tender and easy to cut this one was impossible even with a serrated blade! I couldn’t cut it and gave up, my wife tried and was slightly more successful but we’d had enough and waited for the inattentive staff to come and see how we were doing. I managed to attract their attention, 1 came over and I explained our dissatisfaction and requested an explanation from the Maitre ‘D. She disappeared with the plate and we waited and waited and waited. With patience worn out we went to the reception and realised the waitress had not even registered our complaint because the Maitre’D was talking with another customer. Unfortunately my patience was exhausted so I barged in, pointing to the plate, paid for the drinks and left. I have since discovered the owners have just published their first annual return so whilst there are many recommendations going back years they DO NOT apply to the current owner. Finally even with 2 electric radiators next to us it was absolutely FREEZING. Improvements required urgently.

The best restaurant in the area! We’re always amazed that everything is absolutely perfect every time. The staff are very friendly, and the service is excellent. Worth every penny! We’ll definitely be visiting every week.

Absolutely delicious food and amazing drinks! The Pornstar Martini and Espresso Martini were some of the best we’ve ever had. Everything was full of flavor and beautifully presented. Highly recommend this place — we’ll definitely be coming back!

Super tasty food at a reasonable price. We arrived at 6 and it was pretty much empty on Thursday. The dishes come with a wine pairing too, about £3.50 for a small glass. Well worth it.

Absolutely blown away by our experience at Townhouse in Morpeth! From the moment we booked to the moment we left, the service was faultless. The manager, who handled our booking personally, went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect – and every member of the team followed suit with warm, attentive service throughout. The food was outstanding – beautifully presented, generously portioned, and every dish tasted as good as it looked. You can really tell care has gone into both the menu and the execution. And the interiors? Stunning! Every corner is Instagram-worthy, from the stylish decor to the cosy yet elegant atmosphere. A real hidden gem with substance to match the style. Can’t wait to return!

Fantastic dining experience from Florin and his team. Food was amazing and the service exemplary. Brilliant value on there 3 courses Sunday deal too.

We had an amazing dinner here! My husband and I went for the special three-course meal, and it was absolutely worth every penny. For the starter, I had the Waldorf salad – fresh, perfectly balanced and full of flavor. The main course, roasted chicken breast, was cooked beautifully – tender, juicy, and full of taste. And the sticky toffee pudding for dessert was simply divine — rich, warm, and one of the best I’ve ever had! The staff were wonderful – friendly, attentive, and made us feel truly welcome. The atmosphere was lovely and relaxing, perfect for an evening out. Highly recommend this place — great food, great value, and a really lovely experience overall!

Great prices on spirits. Lovely selection of real ale. Great Beer garden overlooking the river. Very busy bar filled with locals and dogs. Lovely separate lounge with double doors onto a beer garden. No loud music. Old music videos on tvs but not turned up loud (good!) monthly live music on Sunday afternoons.

Went for a wake in the function room, nice size and a cosy place. Be careful parking in the cul-de-sac outside it's residents only and I got a fine. Not the pubs fault in any way.

Fantastic pub. Great selection of real ale and single malt. Very dog friendly, lovely bar staff. We went there to meet friends, the pub is their local, and we had a really great time. Would definitely recommend.

Had a few drinks on a Monday so wasn't busy. Really nice setup with outdoor space, nice 'posh' end and very pleasant bar area. Good selection of cask ales, the several I tried were all spot on. There's also a many keg beers on offer too. Both afternoon and evening staff were great so all in all a good day was had.

Lovely gem of a place in Morpeth. Incredibly generous portions, very tasty and at very reasonable prices (esp if you’re used to London pricing !). In addition, we were offered some complimentary breads to start with and a shot of amoretto for the adults at the end. Highly recommend and we will be back when we are in Morpeth next !

Long and sad decline for a former local highlight. Quality of food and service now no better than a Sambucca or Primo Piano. Almost feel ashamed to be posting this. At least two spelling mistakes on the menu - 'larger' (lager) and 'barbacue'. Staff working off their feet but most seem to be in sixth form the rest of the week. Past two times I've been I've asked what beers they had and the waitress either didn't know or left some out that were on the menu. Asked if there was a table of two available and the reply was to ask if I'd booked - why would I be asking if I had? Ordered the chicken Regina, the chicken itself was dry, stringy, and kind of nasty. For some positivity, they did sort us a table quite quickly in fairness, and the baked Mozzarella starter was actually very good!

We visited for the first time this evening. The service was amazing, it was a lovely, friendly, welcoming atmosphere. We chose potato skins to start then for our main we chose Pollo Franco which was absolutely beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience and will definitely be returning customers.

we ordered from the lunchtime menu, which is often cooked to price at many restaurants, not here, top class dishes and generous portions and the owner quite clearly has a passion for his craft..we have a chosen italian near where we live which in our opinion is head and shoulders above all others weve tried, this place is every bit as good

Have been to this establishment a few times now and continually blown away. Front of house team are exceptional- they’ve always catered to our baby attending by helping out carrying things to the restaurant area. Alicia is an exceptional host ! The chef, Dan, is a true artist, have seen nothing come out of the kitchen that isn’t an artwork in itself. He has catered to some difficult requests of ours. Owners are often on site to engage with customers which is a wonderful touch. Vegetarian diner/ pescatarian diner- supreme choices for both available Mixologist Mickey creates absolutely stunning drinks. Wait staff have always been well dressed, attentive and well spoken. Fitting of such a stunning venue. The venue itself has been fit out to the highest standard. Novo creates a dining experience like no other. Reasonable prices for the quality of what is served to diners. You’d regret not making a booking

First time visiting NOVO after hearing great reviews and no disappointed. The setting is beautiful, service excellent and food first class! It’s well worth the money and felt like it was a fantastic Xmas treat. It’s not the place I’d take the kids for a quick tea but perfect to get a bit dressed up and spoil yourself without breaking the bank. I had the beef and my partner had the belly pork, both cooked perfectly, we’ll definitely be back!

Went for the first time for my birthday tonight. Food was exceptional, staff were beyond friendly and very professional/smart. The owner was lovely and the atmosphere was great. Cocktails are lovely too. Nice, cosy and modern. Will definitely be back 😊 (Photos of the beef and salmon, both were amazing).

What a fabulous night!! The food was beautiful. The slow cooked belly pork, was outstanding, could have been eaten with a spoon. Having said that, our party of 5 had not 1 complaint at all, everything was delicious. Service, well what can I say, professional, friendly and polite, every member of staff worked their socks off to ensure everyone had a great experience. And finally the cocktails, they were just lush. I would, without a doubt recommend Novo and we will definitely be back.

Pizza Takeout
Fast food restaurant
Pizza restaurant
Boulevards is a popular pizza takeaway located in Morpeth, Northumberland. It has gained a reputation for serving some of the best pizzas in the area. The restaurant offers quick bites and fast food options, making it a convenient choice for locals and visitors alike. Despite some mixed reviews about service and food quality, Boulevards remains a go-to spot for those craving delicious pizza in Morpeth.
I don’t live in the area and I come up 3-4 times a year to visit family. Used to come here all the time it was my favourite pizza around. A year ago I found out I was coeliac so I thought that was the end of boulevards for me, but yesterday my partner googled it when we were looking for some lunch and she said they do gluten free, so I had to drive over from Ashington to try it. I genuinely almost rang up to double check it was gluten free. It’s the best GF pizza I’ve ever had. I even stopped on the way home the following day to get another one!!
Ryan L — Google review
Very good food from boulevards as per. We had a big order 80+ pound and it was with us within 30 mins. 1 pizzas toppings slid off the top and were all over the box (accidents happen) but we rang up and a new pizza was delivered within 10 mins. Top quality service as always. Cheers 🍻
Jamie H — Google review
The best gluten free pizza I’ve ever had! The bases are perfect, so crispy but not dry or cardboard textured, and actually a decent size (unlike the teeny gluten free pizzas some chains offer). I’m coeliac and I’ve never been unwell after ordering from here.
Amie A — Google review
First time visiting. Food was great, the staff were friendly and there was barely any wait though they were clearly busy.
Laura P — Google review
Lush pizzas worth the car ride from ashghanistan. Bad experience 2.4.2023 3 burnt pizzas standards slipped today 30 quid spent.
Simon F — Google review
Is it just me or are they cutting back on the pizza toppings? Especially the cheese. Just sayin. Loyal customer for over 30 years and will continue to be so but left feeling a bit disappointed.
Sooz T — Google review
14/09/25 Ordered a mixed kebab from Boulevards tonight. The doner kebab meat wasn't the best I've had (it was ok), but everything else was spot on. The chips were lovely and crispy (perfectly cooked), the garlic sauce was top notch, and the bread (what appeared to be a homemade tortilla) was delicious! Makes a nice change from those shop bought pitta breads most takeaways give you when ordering a kebab. If the kebab meat was a bit better quality, then this would have been one excellent kebab! 27/04/23 Another lovely and tasty chicken kebab 🤩 25/01/23 Tried the 12" Boulevards Special with stuffed crust tonight, and what a lovely pizza it was! Lovely dough (just the right amount of salt in the recipe) and lovely toppings. I'll definitely have another at some point 🙂 Older Review: Nice and tasty chicken kebab! The salad that it came with was some of the nicest salad that I've had with a kebab before. Very fresh and well prepared. I'll definitely visit again to try their pizza's.
