Old Original Hotel Vinayaka Mylari since 1938 is a legendary eatery in Mysore, known for serving the iconic Mysore masala dosa with precision and care. Despite its small size, this bustling establishment on Nazarbad Main Road is a must-visit for those seeking the best places to eat in Mysore. The restaurant's humble ambiance adds to its charm, making it a favorite among locals and visitors alike.
No visit to the heritage city of Mysore is complete without experiencing the legendary Mylari Dosa. After hearing and watching countless reviews, we finally got our chance, and it completely lived up to the hype! This iconic establishment, with its wonderfully simple menu centered around Idli and its signature dosa, proves that less is truly more. The Mylari Dosa is not your typical crispy crepe; it is famously known for its unique, buttery, "cotton-soft" texture that practically melts in your mouth. You’ll find yourself galloping down plate after plate, constantly craving "just one more." A Taste of History: Mylari has been serving this culinary masterpiece for over 85 years, since 1938. The original recipe, passed down through generations, is what gives the dosa its fluffy texture and distinct flavor, often cooked on a massive iron tawa over a wood fire and served with a dollop of white butter and a simple, flavorful coconut chutney (no sambar!). The Craze is Real: The popularity is massive! Especially on weekend mornings, expect a truly "serpentine queue" as the crowd swells up—a testament to its unmatched reputation. Finding parking can be a challenge, but the payoff is worth the wait. The buzz is that this legendary taste might soon be making its way to Bengaluru, with rumors of new spots opening in popular areas like JP Nagar and Indiranagar. This is one simple, historic, and unforgettable South Indian breakfast you absolutely must have!

Note: waiting Time is High . Hotel Original Vinayaka Mylari is a must-visit spot in Mysore for anyone who loves traditional South Indian food. Their famous soft Mylari dosas are simply unbeatable — fluffy, buttery, and full of flavor. The chutney and the special butter they serve make it even better. The place has a simple, old-style charm, and you can really feel the heritage in every bite. Service is quick, the staff is humble, and prices are very reasonable. It’s a small place, so expect a short wait during peak hours, but totally worth it!

Delicious Mylari Dosa Worth the Wait! I recently visited Old Vinayaka Mylari Restaurant with a group of six, and I must say, it was an amazing culinary experience! Ambiance Location: The restaurant has a simple yet inviting ambiance that reflects its long-standing popularity. Located conveniently in the heart of the city, it’s a well-known spot for locals and tourists alike. Wait Time: We arrived around 8:30 PM, and to our surprise, the place was packed! There was no seating available, so we had to wait for about 25 minutes. While waiting can be frustrating, it was a testament to how beloved this place is. The anticipation only made the meal more exciting! Food: Once we got seated, we wasted no time ordering the famous Mylari dosa. Priced at just Rs. 60 per dosa, it was an absolute steal! The dosas were served hot and fresh, with a crispy exterior and soft interior. The taste was simply amazing—perfectly spiced and incredibly flavorful. It’s no wonder this dish is so popular! Service: The staff was friendly and efficient, managing the busy crowd with ease. Our orders were taken promptly, and the food arrived in a reasonable time, even with the restaurant being full. Overall Experience: If you're in Mysore and looking for authentic South Indian cuisine, especially the Mylari dosa, I highly recommend Old Vinayaka Mylari Restaurant. The taste, combined with the vibrant atmosphere and reasonable prices, makes it a must-visit spot. Just be prepared for a bit of a wait during peak hours—it’s well worth it!

🥞 Vinayaka Mylari – Dosa, the Legendary Way! Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5) 📍 For the love of buttery dosas, since 1938! ⸻ 👀 Caption: “One dosa. One recipe. 85+ years of magic. ✨🧈 #MysoreEats #DosaLove” ⸻ 📝 Review: If you’re in Mysore and love a good dosa, Vinayaka Mylari is a must-visit! This humble eatery has been serving the same iconic dosa recipe since 1938, and they proudly stick to their roots! 💯 🍽️ Simple Yet Legendary They serve just one type of dosa – but it’s the kind that leaves a lasting impression: • Soft, fluffy dosa 🥞 • Mild and flavorful potato masala 🥔 • A generous slice of butter on top 🧈 Served with a side of coconut chutney – which is simple and average in taste, but it complements the dosa perfectly. 🌴✨ 🕰️ A Taste of Tradition The experience is old-school, minimalist, and filled with nostalgic charm. It’s not about luxury here – it’s about legacy and flavor. 👥 Crowd & Seating Info This spot is very popular, especially on weekends and holidays. We visited on a weekday, and even then, waited around 15–20 minutes. • Seating is limited on the ground floor, but they do have a small second-floor seating area as well. Still, don’t expect too much space – it’s a quick-eat kind of place. 🪑⬆️ ⸻ ✅ What We Loved: • Iconic, buttery dosa with timeless flavor • Authentic taste unchanged since 1938 • Affordable and fast once seated • Coconut chutney that complements well ❌ What Could Be Better: • Very limited seating • Long wait times during peak hours • Only one item on the menu • Chutney could be improved slightly ⸻ 🔚 Final Verdict: Vinayaka Mylari delivers a one-dosa wonder that speaks volumes. Simple, soft, and packed with history – this is a dish (and place) every dosa lover should experience at least once. 🧈❤️

Vinayak mylari dosa. Location > nazarbad. Mysore. There are two hotels with same name in same road, one is old ones and another is new ones with seating of around 40 to 50 people's. FOOD > Yu will get only one item in this hotel that is DOSA. Plain dosa and masala dosa . 60₹ excluding gst. TASTE> Yu will not get this type of dosa anywhere else. The dosa is too soft it will melt in your mouth. WAITING TIME> weekends yu have to wait for some time . The main customers here are the tourists. A must visit place in mysore for having dosa.
Pratik S — Google review
If you come with lot of expectations, expectation hurts.. not hot, no butter as mentioned in many hyped social media. Had to specifically ask. Check photo for quality and display of dosa. Second order on specifically asking I got a yummy tasty dosa.
Harish R — Google review
Mylari dosa is very famous in Mysore. It’s similar to benne dosa but the combination with vegetable sagu is so unique. The service is also very quick. People are filled in the morning. Had to wait for seat but we got the seat soon. We had two dosas but it became a little heavy for us. So filling so melting and satisfying. The idli was also so soft and we didn’t even had to chew the idli. It was just melting away. Coffee was also good.
Rachna B — Google review
Went with high expectations after all the reviews on YouTube. Good neat place and prompt service. The idli was fluffy and soft as they claimed. It was good. The mylari dosa was very good and tastes different. Domination of onions and less potato in the palya was different but good. GOOD but not the best.

Oyster Bay is a serene restaurant in Mysore that offers a delightful fusion of Indian and global cuisines, with a focus on seafood and refreshing beverages. The ambiance is peaceful, allowing guests to savor their meal while enjoying the gentle sounds of nature. The restaurant boasts candlelight seating, landscaped gardens, and a tranquil pool, creating an inviting atmosphere akin to a resort. It's an ideal venue for family gatherings and can accommodate parties of up to 200 people.
It is one of the top class Oyster Bay restaurant at mysore.. Especially thanks to Mr. Raj (fnb) manager , chef Rajesh and teams.... Food and service was outstanding. Staff was very courteous and responsive. ... Restaurant was well maintained. Thanks for memorable moments .

The excellent staff service rather than the food defines the place . Though the food was also very good. Mr Raj went out of his way to make us feel welcome . Mr Balraj and Mr Gangadhar served us with speed and a smile also offered their recommendations Bhindi was excellent Steamed Rice sub par and did NOT meet expectations as it was not Basmati. A high end restaurant this should be offered at a minimum Tadka Dal was v good My friends rated the Mutton Biryani and Chicken Malai Kebabs 8 / 10 so great job done guys. However the mutton in the biryani was just adequate for one person so have an option in the menu for adding extra mutton pieces at a higher price On the whole, we had a lovely afternoon an enjoyed our lunch

3 stars Oyster Bay, Mysore – Great Ambience, But Food & Service Fell Short Visited Oyster Bay recently and had mixed feelings. The highlight was definitely the ambience – I chose to sit in the garden area at night, and the vibe was really pleasant. The outdoor lighting, greenery, and open-air setup create a calm and cozy atmosphere that's perfect for relaxed conversations or a casual evening out. Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to the expectations. The flavors felt underwhelming, and the overall presentation wasn’t impressive either. For a place with such a lovely setting, I was hoping for something more refined and satisfying on the culinary side. The service was quite slow and lacked attentiveness. It took a while for the staff to take our order, and even longer for the food to arrive. It’s a beautiful space, especially for evening visits, but there's definitely room for improvement in both food quality and customer service. Would recommend it more for the ambience than the dining experience.
Foodlife F — Google review
Nice ambience. Food was good and service was excellent. Staff was very courteous and responsive. Even though the property is nice, washrooms are least maintained. The taps are broken, and don’t think that cost much to get it replaced.
Rajsekhar G — Google review
Place and ambience was good but dissatisfied with the service waited almost 15 mins for a fingerbowl that too asked to bring nearly 4-5 times later went to washroom and did hand wash after that waited again for bill! The waiters were just roaming here and there but no response from them!!! Apart feom service evrything was great and food was also nive to have
Deepak D — Google review
Trusted the review and ratings. I guess, I shouldn't have. 🙁👎 The Food is average. Ambience is the only best part of the restaurant. 👍 We ordered Chicken Satay, American Chopsuey and Chilli Garlic Noodles. 😋 Chicken Satay had a fishy odor, i mean quite literally. It was good only because of the sauce that they gave with it. 🐟🍗 American Chopsuey should be in the desserts section, as the chopsuey sauce was too sweet. We had to mix the sauce from the Satay to give it some depth in flavor. 🫤 Chilli Garlic Noodles was kinda good. It was spicy, but I couldn't taste any Garlic. So, it's just Chilli Noodles. 🌶✅️🧄❌️ Not to forget the fishy odor again. 🐟 Are they using some used fish oil or something? Service was okay, just one waiter looking after everything. Not sure why. 🤷‍♂️ Overall, the experience was decent. 😐 I could have given a 3 star, but for the price and the Fine Dining vibe that they going with, I can't be generous.
Vineeth S — Google review
It's a nice fine dining restaurant with a good Ambience and green atmosphere. Food: Prawn soup:5* Tandoori chilli chicken: 4* Fish Tawas and rawa fry: 5* Mutton chops: taste was good but the mutton was hard and fibrous. Good Biriyani. Prawn ghee roast: good taste but qty is not price worthy Uday and Madhu were friendly and helpful. Good place for a friendly get together.

We had our wedding and reception here and we absolutely loved it! The food is top notch! All of our guests loved the afternoon banana leaf meal, and our evening reception had lot of local delicacies. The venue is also so beautiful - the architecture and greenery makes it perfect for an outdoor event. Highly recommend checking out this place if you’re considering an event big or small!

Gufha Restaurant in Mysuru offers a unique dining experience with its cave-themed ambiance, dim lighting, and mystical charm. The restaurant breaks stereotypes with its extraordinary wild-ish vibe, complete with jungle safari uniforms for the staff and leopard print chairs and plates. Serving a blend of North Indian, Mughlai, Chinese, and Continental cuisines along with delicious desserts and beverages, Gufha provides ample seating in a beautiful environment.
An unforgettable dining experience! We had the best food experience at Gufha Restaurant. Every dish we ordered tasted incredibly fresh, and the quality was absolutely top-notch. The ambience is truly unique—dining here feels like an experience in itself. The service was quick and the staff were very polite, which made the entire visit even more enjoyable, this place should be at the top of your list. Highly recommended!

The buffet breakfast here offers a delightful spread with Indian options. The ambiance is calm and pleasant, perfect for a relaxed morning. The staff is courteous and attentive. Overall, it’s a satisfying experience with value for money and a great start to the day.

This is a theme based restaurant situated near the Mysore palace. The starter and the main course is good. I really liked the ambience. Although the waiting time is quite high there, you may call for table reservation.
Vinod — Google review
It's really to experience something innovative. We were staying at the Pai so it was only a change of floor to get to the restaurant. Seating can be a little more comfortable but overall it was a good experience. The staff is excellent, service is quick, food is good but can be a bit spicy.

Really nice staff, based on our urgency they helped in arranging table on priority. Food is excellent especially Manchurian. Tried something new papad cheese corn, kinda of unique. Ambience is just wow! Definately recommended.

Pros 1. Location Cons 1. Staff is not properly trained. 2. Food is below average. Should definitely be better. 3. They don't accept advance booking on Friday and the weekend. 4. People are just going here for the cave experience which is also very sub-par.

Very nice place and ambience. Food is good too. We were served by Mukesh Barik and must say awesome hospitality. He not only attended to us but went an extra step in arranging the required food for my little one . Kudos

The restaurant has a very intriguing and well-done setup — truly an interesting place. I honestly didn’t expect the food to be this good, but it exceeded my expectations! We tried the chef’s special, and it was beautifully prepared — easily the best food we’ve had in Mysore.

Le Olive Garden Mysore is a top dining spot offering North Indian, Chinese, and Italian cuisine in a beautiful open-air setting. Nestled at the base of Chamundi Hills within a garden featuring artificial streams, it provides a charming ambiance for families and couples alike. The restaurant's outdoor seating allows guests to enjoy their meals surrounded by nature. With its pocket-friendly menu, it's an ideal choice for those seeking delicious food in a picturesque environment.
They had arranged an outdoor Special Candle light dinner for me and my spouse for 3000/- and it was beautiful. Loved the effort. It was simply Amazing. The setup included flower decoration, Rose bouquet and a custom cake with candle light. It was beautiful. Food was above average, however we did not have many dishes im sure they have good food options here.

I won't recommend the place if food is the only thing you are looking for. The food is decent, and can even feel overpriced for the taste. The vibe of the place is really good. Although, the staff is really cooperative and humble, their service is slow. Restrooms are hygienic as expected at such a place. North Indian food is not recommended at all. Fish dishes are highly recommended. Try to avoid paneer ones. The paneer didn't feel as good as expected.
Mohit S — Google review
This restaurant has my heart for many years now. Though the food seems expensive, the ambience here, the staff, live singing and music along with birthday wishes for the day melts us. We visited for my wife's birthday this time. She was made to feel even more special with their complimentary cake, wishes from the staff, singer. Kids enjoyed a lot here with a scooter on display, a cart to take pics on, the swans and play area. Loved our visit this time after many years, maybe more than a decade.

The property is huge and has an amazing view. It's also full of greenery. They have a big menu, and the food is clean and hygienic. The staff is really polite. They only had forks and spoons on the table, which is understandable considering the kind of food we order. But we had a friend from London with us who was struggling with the spoon. The staff was super nice and brought him a knife without us even asking. That's five-star service!
Supriya S — Google review
Good ambience and good service. However, we faced sanitation issue at restaurant due to house flies - that too large in numbers. We couldn’t actually enjoy the atmosphere as we were busy getting rid of house flies from our food and our baby. They could have easily taken measures to control the flies, however staffs accepting the presence of flies was quite surprising. How could you enjoy the food and place, if flies were sitting all over you table, food, clothes and everywhere?

Le Olive Garden was very good. It was like the American Olive Garden and you should try the place. There was various peoples from kerala to all over India. I ate Mac and Chese From Le Olive Garden. And it was a Chef's kiss. That's all I have to say.

The Food we had enjoyed at the time of dinner. It was really delicious taste with great quality, everything had unique taste which we had ordered, nice arrangement and services from the staff while eating, we found nothing bad about this hotel. I have visited this restaurant many times but unfortunately it’s not what it use to be… food dishes are bulked up with veg rather than meat so very disappointing considering the London prices… Ambience 10/10 Food taste :6/10 ( completely mild) Starters were not much in veg. chicken not fresh. Menu choices 5/10 Price : 5/10 ( not worth ) Overall: 5/10

Breakfast restaurant
Mahesh Prasad Veg Restaurant is a beloved spot in Mysore, offering a traditional South Indian dining experience. Despite the modern times, this gem has remained open thanks to its loyal local customer base and positive social media reviews. The restaurant serves South Indian vegetarian meals all day long, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and tea. With canteen-style tables and a simple ambiance, it's frequented by locals who appreciate its authentic offerings.
Great breakfast. Idli Vade and sambar were great. Pongal with tamarind chutney was a killer. Methi bath was yum. Bisibele bath was decent. Dosas were decent and the famous basundi was great as usual. Fast service and clean place. Definitely recommended. There will be waiting for tables on weekends.
Sriram T — Google review
I had been here with friends for a lunch and another time for evening snacks. The restaurant is known for its pure vegetarian authenticity. Despite the bustling crowd, we patiently waited for a table, and the experience was well worth it. Ambience: gives you vintage vibes, now they have expanded there seating outside. Food Recommendations- we went there during lunch time so we ordered south meals, with chapati. It was tasty & worth the price. Evening snacks we ordered Bonda soup , butter masala dosa and panner manchurian. Bonds soup was mouthwatering yummy . It’s a must try. Service: As it was crowded during peak hours, but we got seat after 10mins n service is good. You will get ample parking space outside the restaurant . Overall, good experience.
Pramodh K — Google review
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3.5/5) The food at Mahesh Prasad was okay to good overall — some dishes were quite enjoyable, others just average. I'd rate the food around 3.5 to 4 out of 5. The oota meals costed 105 rupees which just had one chapati, rice, sambar, rasam, dry vegetable, veg gravy(brinjal curry), curd, pickle, papad & sweet However, what really bothered me was the hygiene of the drinking water glasses. The first glass they brought had visible soap stains, so I asked for another — and this time, there was actually soap floating in the water. It wasn’t a one-off either; I noticed several glasses on nearby tables also didn’t look properly cleaned. I’m not sure how this is going unnoticed by staff or other customers, but it’s something the management seriously needs to address. Cleanliness is basic and expected, especially when serving drinking water. Hope they improve this, because otherwise it’s a decent place.
Chiranjeevi A — Google review
5 star all over for this place. Interiors are so simple and yet so pleasing . Their idly vada is to die for and try for. The idly was as soft as the moon kissing the sea and vada was as crispy as my back pain. This with their signature sambar and chutney. My oh my !!! Kesari bath was sweet and nice and has pineapple pieces too. Their masala dosa is always fresh.. Benne masala is their best seller and very crispy and nice with the potato bhajji. To end with and down all the flavours, the coffee is bloody brilliant. Strong hot and served with a lot of love. The staff is very friendly and attentive too. Must try when in Mysore.

Breakfast is somewhat attractive, But lunch is not up to the mark. No body cares if you get seats or not, no queue system at all. Atmosphere also better outside but very suffocating and smelly inside.

On our recent visit during Dussehra, we discovered a restaurant renowned for its pure vegetarian authenticity. Despite the bustling crowd, we patiently waited for a table, and the experience was well worth it. The wait time was reasonable given the high demand, and we appreciated the lively atmosphere. Once seated, we indulged in a variety of dishes, all of which impressed us with their rich flavors and freshness. Each item reflected the restaurant's commitment to quality and taste. Conveniently, there’s ample parking available, making it easy to visit even during peak times. If you’re a fan of vegetarian cuisine, I highly recommend this place for a delightful dining experience.

Gayatri Tiffin Room (GTR) is a beloved vegetarian restaurant in Mysore, known for its familiar South Indian favorites served in a mess-style cafe. The unpretentious old-world charm of the place adds to the experience, making diners feel like they've traveled back in time. The menu features popular dishes such as Kesari bath, GTR masala dosa, and filter coffee.
During my first visit to Mysore, I decided to try GTR based on a friend’s recommendation and it turned out to be a fantastic experience. The local food was absolutely delicious, so much so that I ended up visiting the place for two consecutive days just to enjoy the flavors again. The owner and staff are extremely friendly and humble, which added to the welcoming atmosphere. Despite the crowds, service is quick and efficient, thanks to their well-organized self-service system. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy authentic local cuisine in Mysore!

GTR Mysore – A Classic South Indian Experience! One of the oldest and most iconic vegetarian restaurants in Mysore, GTR (Gayatri Tiffin Room) is a must-visit if you’re in the city. Known for its authentic South Indian tiffin items like dosas, idlis, vadas, and their signature filter coffee, the taste is consistent and reminds you of traditional Karnataka flavors. The ambience is simple and nostalgic, usually crowded during breakfast and lunch hours – a sign of how loved it is! Service is quick and no-nonsense. Their masala dosa and kesari bath are absolute must-tries. If you’re looking for an old-school, pure veg place with genuine taste and local vibes, GTR is definitely worth it.

We went here for breakfast. The dosa was sooo good. Idli and Vada were also good. The kesari bath I must say was the best. I loved the service and food. The place was anyway packed with people. I think this is the best place in Mysore for dosa according to me.

Good Self-service restaurant in mysore serving South Indian food items. Idly and vada, varieties of dosas, khara and kesari bath, rava Idly rice items are available. Famous for set masala dosa where in 2 medium sized masala dosa are provided with 1 with sagu and other with alu palya. Food is tasty. Rates are reasonable. Service is fast. Coffee and tea are good. It's definitely worth a try while in mysore. Open from 7am to 11.30am and again from 3.30pm to 8pm.

This is a old set up and I tried the Uddin vada which was bit cold and bit crispy, the Whitney and sambar was nice. Along side I tried benne masala dosa and I felt the taste was not great becoz of the batter(left the batter was not fresh) but the masala was nice. Given that it’s an old place it is not upto my expectation.

The channa masala of the channa batura was spoilt. Instead of a simple apology and cancelling it, The waiter checked at the kitchen and had the audacity to say the Kabuli channa colour is black and is spoilt. The rotten smell was quite eminent. Finally, after speaking with the manager, it was cancelled. Overall service was not good. They treat the floating tourist customers so shabily, probably managing since no other restaurants nearby.

Indra Café / Paras Visited this place for Lunch during my stay @ Mysore.. I have been visiting this place for a many years. Location: Located on the sayyaji rao road, close to the KR market.. Parking: Parking is a challenge considering the location. Ambience: Pathetic, there is nothing called cleanliness, was highly disappointed to see such a legacy restaurant going down in maintenance and service standards. A good wash of the floors and the tables is highly recommended to the management. Service: Was quick and good Food Taste: We tried the following items Butter Ghee Roast – there was no ghee used at all Onion Dose – it was literally burnt / charred Channa Batura – the oil was no drained at all, the batura served was dripping with oil Coffee – was good Kharabath – it was a left over served hot Pricing: Price of all the items are super expensive. My Verdict: Kindly do not visit this place considering the cleanliness, cost, I do not recommend. There are plenty of restaurants serving good quality food at a much lesser cost. I would never visit this place ever.

We visited the place on our mysore visit , was bit crowded during afternoon. We order both south indian and north indian thali South Indian was pathetic rice was completely soda and palya or vegitables were so taste less ...... No sweet in it all Coming to Mysore being in south indian they could have atleast served south dishes better........ North Indian was comparatively better including tomato soup, cham cham roti , kulcha , 3 types curry, salad, palav and papad.. But while giving the bill when we asked for QR code they told to pay downstairs instead they could have provided there itself it would be easy for all.

Very poor place.. I've heard a lot about their food and beer but sadly as of Aug 2024 they have stopped selling alcohol. Their so called famous garlic chicken was very bad. Meat felt stale and not saucy at all. Their kokum juice was meh. Coffee was decent but felt watery. I guess this place has lot it's shine.

A Hidden Gem in Mysore with a Goan Vibe This hotel in Mysore is a serene retreat that perfectly blends Goan charm with warm hospitality. Its beautifully lit ambiance and attention to detail create a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere. The highlight is the stunning fountain at the back, with water flowing into a stream that surrounds the hotel, adding a calming touch to the property. The dining experience is exceptional. The butter naan is soft, fluffy, and absolutely delicious. Every dish is crafted with care, and the service is attentive and professional, making you feel truly valued.

The pub is located at a good location, and is a minimalistic pub but with a delicate but posh touch of western brewery. They have tried to design it in a certain way that appeals to both young and old, desi audiences. (If you are planning to try this place out for its food..... Don't) Both the restaurant/pub and the menu book here, make a good first impression, but it's downhill from there. The food is nothing to boast about, and the service either. The vegetarian starters were good, and a couple of non veg starters. The biryanis here was just rice with some colour sprinkled on it, and tasteless. I can say the same for the other dishes as well. The comfort of the interior facilities fall short of expectations. This place is only good for having a booze party with a gang of friends. This place is not a good choice for families, or office related professional lunches and dinners.

I tried their non vegetarian English breakfast. This breakfast platter was good 3.5\5. I would really again reorder and would recommend to others to try this. I ordered through Zomato and I would suggest others to visit and dining in that place so that they can enjoy the pub vibes. Bacon could have been a little more crispy, and they should have respectable portion of baked beans. Apart from all according to the buck it was a good.

One can smoke and they provide beer. It has a uniquely 90's vibe. Food is great, specially the pork. The owner is warm and welcoming, Come and talks to almost every guest when he can. Overall a great place to spend some quality time with family and friends and to have some good food.

Never have I seen such a varied crowd at a pub. From families with kids to youngsters to couples and people with dogs.😬 Not a place to bring your kids afterall with people smoking their lungs out in adjacent seats. The place gives OG beer parlour vibes and nothing fancy. The food was also decent but the place can get really busy especially on weekends with orders taking forever to get delivered.

Tegu Mess is a Mysore-based eatery that specializes in various meat dishes that are prepared with homemade spices. The restaurant is always packed, and their breakfast options are particularly popular.
Today, my friend and I went to Tegu Mess for breakfast, and we had a great experience! Both the mutton and chicken were juicy, perfectly flavored, and well-cooked. The waiter kept checking on us to ensure everything was good and asked if we needed anything. The service was impressive as well.
YATHISH R — Google review
Telugu Mess – A Hidden Gem for Mutton Lovers If you’re someone who enjoys hearty, flavorful meals with a rich, authentic taste, Telugu Mess is a spot you definitely want to try. Personally, it’s become my regular weekend stop, as it satisfies my cravings for good mutton dishes every time. The restaurant consistently delivers quality food, and it’s become one of my favorite places in town. One of the standout dishes at Telugu Mess is definitely their mutton kaal soup. This dish has a perfect balance of spices and flavors, with the mutton being cooked to perfection. The meat is tender and juicy, and the soup itself is rich and savory, with just the right amount of depth. Every time I visit, I make it a point to order this, and it never disappoints. Along with the mutton, they serve other dishes that also reflect the same level of care in preparation. Another reason I love coming here is the pricing. For the portion sizes and quality of the food, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a place with such reasonable rates. It's the kind of place where you can have a satisfying, fulfilling meal without having to worry about overspending. Whether you're just grabbing a quick meal or having a leisurely weekend lunch, you get great value for the price you pay. The staff at Telugu Mess deserve a mention as well. Over the course of my visits, I've noticed that they are friendly, prompt, and helpful. The service is typically fast, and they are always ready to recommend dishes or assist with any special requests. It’s clear that the management places emphasis on maintaining a customer-friendly atmosphere. In terms of location, Telugu Mess is quite accessible. It’s in a place that is easy to find, making it convenient for anyone to drop by. The area is well-connected, and finding parking isn’t usually a hassle, which makes it all the more convenient if you want to pop in for a meal during the weekend. However, if there’s one area I feel they could improve on, it’s the spiciness of their dishes. While I appreciate the bold flavors and the way they’ve managed to keep the taste vibrant, everything I’ve tried here tends to be on the spicy side. For someone who doesn’t tolerate too much heat, it can be a bit overwhelming at times. I’m not sure if the spice level is standard for every dish, but I do think it would be a great idea if they offered some items with a more balanced spice level or allowed customers to choose their preferred spice intensity. That said, the taste more than makes up for the spice, and I’m sure others who love their food with a kick will appreciate it. Beyond the spice, the overall experience at Telugu Mess has been quite satisfying. The flavor profile of the food is consistently good, the service is reliable, and the ambience is straightforward and no-nonsense, which complements the nature of the restaurant. It’s not a fancy place, but the food speaks for itself, and that’s what matters most. For those who are looking for a simple yet tasty and filling meal, Telugu Mess ticks all the right boxes. Overall, I can confidently say that Telugu Mess is a must-visit for anyone who enjoys Indian-style mutton dishes. The restaurant delivers on all fronts—great food, reasonable pricing, good service, and a comfortable atmosphere. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, it’s worth checking out. I just hope they’ll consider adjusting the spice levels slightly in the future to make it accessible to a wider range of taste preferences. Regardless, I will definitely keep coming back for those flavorful mutton dishes.
Vaisakh D — Google review
When I visited Mysore for the first time, I searched Google for a good non-veg breakfast spot. After reading reviews, I thought I’d found the perfect place. People mentioned the food was spicy, which excited me as a Telugu person. I arrived at the restaurant and ordered paya, idli, ghee rice, and chicken. The food was decent but not outstanding. Despite the reviews, it wasn’t spicy at all—completely bland, in fact. While the dishes weren’t bad, they didn’t impress either. The food lacked spice, but the prices were fiery.
Amar G — Google review
Went to Tegu Mess around 7 AM. The soup was subtle and amazing! Idli was good too. Gravy had too much masala for our taste those who like strong flavors might enjoy it.
Siri N — Google review
If you’re after bold, old-school flavours, Tegu Mess delivers. We ordered the mutton kaima meal(₹300): three plump kaima unde in rich gravy but the unde itself was a little underwhelming, unlimited pulao rice/white tice, and a hefty plate of pepper chicken with the chicken meal(₹300), generous enough for two. The ragi mudde for us was replaced with ghatte idli’s on request, which was pillowy and great to eat with the gravy they served. Food arrives fast, spices punch hard, and the bill stays light. That said, I’m not a big fan of how the place is kept—tables and floors can feel a bit unclean and unkempt, especially during the rush. Worth it for the flavour-to-price ratio, but expect to sacrifice some comfort. Parking is a little difficult to find, so park elsewhere and walk to the place.
Spandana Y — Google review
Few items are very spicy 🔥! Rest was good. Unique Taste.
Geevarathna — Google review
Hyped restaurant. Got mouth ulcer after eating from here. Any home based hotel serves better food than here The waiter confuses like anything and is not transparent about the pricing. We asked what does one get in mutton meals, he said liver is included and then charged for 2 meals. In meals, he gives more of rice and just 3 piece of non-veg. Eating more carbs and charging more price is totally unjustified. Very cramped up seating area. The taste is below average than a foothpath non-veg shop. Will not recommend to visit this place.
Sreekanth — Google review

We visited this place on a weekend and chose to sit on the first floor. Our first order was two Double Roast Masala Dosas and one Benne Masale, which were delivered within just 5 minutes. Unfortunately, they seemed to have served pre-prepared dosas without considering our request. When we asked about it, the waiter simply said, “It’s roasted,” but the dosas were far from it — they were cold and unappealing. Throughout our breakfast, the staff repeatedly misunderstood our orders despite us clearly repeating them multiple times. For example, we ordered Badam Milk without sugar, but what we received was extremely sweet. While the overall taste of the food was decent, the poor service, lack of attention, and delayed responses really spoiled the experience. We’ve never encountered such disappointing service before.

Their south indian meals/thali is a must try!! Also, the ambience, service and the whole dining experience was unforgettable!! Food wise it's good, both the self service in ground floor and the service availability in first floor. But searing capacity is cramped I'm both places, and waiting period is a tester of patience. Especially when it's peak time. Given a miss of service or issues with food every now and then this place is actually good. Also they are available in the apps which makes it more convenient to order from home. How ever last time I happen to found a foreign debris in the Hayagreeva.

We went there for breakfast with a bunch of super hungry colleagues who are regular to this place. Lakshman Mess is not the type of neat and clean restaurant and is a village type hotel. The owner started his business in a pushcart and went onto to have this establishment and this is a three storied building with many bench type seatings and table made of wood and is not so comfortable for long hours. First floor is for family and groups. The menu are varied comprising of Biryani, Leg Soup, mutton and chicken chops, palav, dosa, kheema fry, parota, boti curry and only the regulars will understand and like the taste. I tried leg soup, Mutton chops, boti fry and dosa and though seem tasty, hygiene and minimum sophistication is a factor which if your very particular about this, I urge you, this will not be to your liking. For all others, they simply gorge the food like hungry wolfs.

I visited Lakshman Mess after hearing rave reviews, but unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The restaurant has an inspiring story, evolving from a humble handcart to a three-story eatery in the city's midst. Finding the place was easy, thanks to Google directions, and parking was not an issue. We visited around 1 pm, and the crowd was manageable. However, the food did not quite live up to expectations. The palav rice was bland and lacked basic spices, requiring added salt. The chicken chops (₹120 for 3 pieces) and chicken kebab (₹120 for 5-6 pieces) were average. Given the choice, I would certainly prefer Gowdru Mess over Lakshman Mess. Perhaps they can work on refining their recipes and portion sizes. 3 Stars only for their hard work. Food would be 2 Stars

We ordered Chicken chaps and pepper chicken with poratta, mudda and palav rice. Pepper chicken was not up to the mark. Other items was good.overall best service with budget friendly with adequate quantity of food, need to try some more items next time.

Worst experience ever! Felt like eating at a wedding hall that’s too tiny, with people literally standing behind you waiting for you to finish. No cleanliness at all, and you just can’t eat in peace. Taste? Not worth it. Only the biriyani was okay; chicken lollipop was terrible, parota was cold, and the service was a joke. I get that it’s a small mess and expectations shouldn’t be high, but even the basics are missing here. To top it all off, we got scammed by paying for an extra plate of biriyani we didn’t even eat! Definitely not a place to take your family.
Rachana S — Google review
I don't have option to rate negative.. i think Mr.Laxman need to go back to Cart business to provide old taste and authentic non veg meat ( he grow up cart business).. we have tried mutton chops, mutton keema, chicken biriyani, chicken kabab and biriyani rice .. not even one item is hot nor even warn.. it's only food bloggers hype and fake google reviews... Not worth for the money you pay for food.. please avoid visiting this place hypes and google reviews...
SateeshM — Google review
Visited this place for lunch, tried the ragi mudde with saar and chicken biryani along with some chicken kebab, and pepper chicken fry. The ragi mudde was soft and tasty. The chicken was tender. The biryani didn’t have any basmati rice, made with simple jeera rice. The biryani was flavourful. Special mention of the mutton kheema. Do try out when in Mysore.

Breakfast restaurant
Mysuru Coffee Bar is a must-visit spot for an authentic Karnataka-style breakfast experience. This place, run by a retired Mangalorean couple, serves up delicious dosas and idlis that are soft, crispy, and mouth-watering. The vada here sets the benchmark with its freshness and crunchiness. The coconut chutney and sambar are top-notch, making it a perfect breakfast destination in Mysore.
I recently visited this amazing dosa place, and I have to say, their dosas are fantastic! The dosas are perfectly crisp, with just the right amount of butter that adds a rich, flavorful touch. Every bite was a delight, and the texture was spot on—crispy on the edges and soft on the inside. Definitely a must-visit for dosa lovers!
Ajinkya G — Google review
Mysuru Coffee Bar is a fantastic spot for a quick and delicious South Indian breakfast. Their dosa is absolutely amazing crispy, flavourful. The idly and Vada are also excellent, complementing the authentic flavours perfectly. What truly stands out is their coffee rich, aromatic, and a perfect way to start your day! If you're looking for great local food with a classic touch, Mysuru Coffee Bar is a must-visit.

Tagging a video here!!!! I used to be regular to this place until I saw the dosa chef using spatula to clean the dirt around the gas stow. I almost puked. When I bought this to the attention of the owner, he refused to acknowledge and took this very casually. You should also checkout the workers attitude when you are there. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Eat at your own risk.

Food is good ! Taste is superb ! Dosa is too good and yummy !! Self service and place is little small , if we take food we have to eat by standing and park side ! I mean outside
DG D — Google review
Honestly the best place for morning breakfast and evening snacks. Has multiple variety of food options and each one of them tastes really good. Must try is their well made dedicated filler coffee, set dosa, masala dosa, Palak dosa and shavige bath. Place is quite open and there is no coupon system per se. Organised and monitored by working staff itself. Strongly recommend eating here And over few months, this place has won heart of Mysore

Authentic Karnatka style Idly and Dosa varieties Vada sets the benchmark !! Quality of cocunut chutney and sambar is top notch, of course don't forget to finish it with thier coffee !!! Must try breakfast destination in Mysore !!!

Awesome steaming hot Dose, Idli, wada AND above all kesari is out of box!!! - Burst of flavours!!! Not a place to miss...yum yummy
Peush K — Google review
If you ever fancy a different kind of dose, go and get your self this dose which is so crispy and tasty. Vade is the best. It’s super soft inside and crispy on the outside. The cleanliness of the place is not that great. The guy who makes the dosa uses his hand to apply the butter and chutney. If you are concerned about it, you take a call.

If you find yourself in Mysore, make sure to stop by Cafe C.C.B.C, a charming eatery run by a delightful retired Mangalorean couple. This cozy spot is perfect for an early morning or evening visit, serving up delicious South Indian breakfast and tiffin options. The menu changes daily, offering a variety of sweet treats alongside must-try dishes like dosa and Goli baje (Mangalore bonda).
If you are visiting Mysore or are already in the city looking for healthy and tasty vegetarian food, C.C.B.C is a must-visit cafe. We went there on a busy weekday and ordered the 3-in-1 upma, which includes one ladle of masala upma, one serving of Kesari bath, and one serving of upma without onion (you can also order these as separate dishes). We also tried the coconut milk rice Kanji, which was absolutely delicious and is a must-try. They offer a variety of Dosa items as well, including healthier versions made with ragi. For hot beverages, they serve coffee and hot milk, and to my surprise, they also offer Kashayam. The food was fresh and served hot, and the staff were very welcoming. Another appealing aspect of the cafe is the book nook, which is filled with books, mostly in Kannada literature. Those who can read the language will truly enjoy that space.

Food was great! Love the fact that they first give the food and then ask you to pay later. Rarely do people do this, and that shows the intent of the owner - even if it’s strategic 😅 Definitely recommended ✅ Visited and reviewed on 10.04.2025 Update: Came for breakfast and had Ragi Dose and Kaayihaalu Ganji. My friend had Mangalore buns and Chow Chow Bath. Food was delicious to say the least. I simply love the vibe of the place. They put a nice quote everyday. The classical music in the background is so soothing. Oh let me mention the USP again - you east first, then pay later. Overall, one couldn’t ask for more. Update on 16.04.2025

Superb food and quality. Best dosa coffee in Mysuru in my opinion I usually can't eat very oily food from outside restaurants because of the poor quality of oil. But trust me the ingredients here are very good quality. You can eat here without worries. Can bring your family as well. And great taste in everything.

Visited this place for the first time, not too crowded, but no seating. Delightful to say this restaurant is managed by an all Women’s team who are polite and friendly. Tried their Classic Chow chow bath, but slightly spicy. Apparently they have this which is less spicy as well . May be next time . Coffee was pretty good. Definitely worth a visit.

We tried usli masala dosa and upma in CCBC today. The masala dosa stood out with its unique and delicious flavor. We ended with the 7-cup barfi, which was simply delightful. The place is clean, hygienic, and has a pleasant ambience. Highly recommended!

With delicious and healthy options like masala akki rotti and raagi dosa, this place promises not only great taste but also good service.

I am not happy with the masala dosa it is in with full of oil and it's cold dosa if anyone like cold dosa must try. It's not traditional way of dosa batter.. they use instant batter,,,,, The limonrice is also cold with toomuch oil..... Don't try dosa ...... I highly recommend people not to wisit........
Vijay M — Google review
Today morning I visited this place and they told Dosa isn't available due to some gas unavailability issue which made me to order Tatte idli and I got it packed. When I opened the pack at home to have it for breakfast, Chatni was rotten and stinking,Idli was completely hard and uncooked, based was not cooked well, you would have never had such pathetic idli anywhere and sambar was not given at all, we literally threw pathetic hard idli and chatni to dustbin, These guys should learn the value of customers and there hard earned money, nothing comes for free and I will never be visiting this place again, They lost the game with other nearby competitors for Quality of Food. My suggestion is not to visit this place and waste your money, other eateries are around and nearby who provide good quality food. Waste of money and precious time.

It was ok.. .It can be done better. DOSA WEREN'T AVAILABLE WHEN I VISITED THERE.. THAT TOO ON A WEEKEND AT 10:00 am. They should have more quantity.. atleast on weekends to extend the menu and serve time for atleast 11:00 am

This charming establishment is set in beautifully landscaped gardens, providing a serene escape for travelers. I had been here on one of my trips with a friend once. I wanted to take a solo trip to a peacefull location so i called him up asked the name of the hotel and drove 180 kms just to come sit here in peace and have a beer. Love the place. Must visiti once if you are coming to Mysore.

Atmosphere was really nice. Great setting in Mysore. You feel the heritage, you feel you are in Mysore. Food was good, bit on the sweeter side for me. Hence the slightly lower rating. Our mutton dish was bit undercooked. Overall service was good. Staff was courteous. I think they pair with non-profits for several good causes. I liked their to-go bags made handmade from news paper by a Non profit organization.

They served me raw chicken tikka yesterday. When i told the waiter the chicken cube is raw, he told my fork and split the chicken in my plate, and asked me to eat the other half. I complained the chicken is still raw and cold inside, and the other cubes might be the same too, he took the rest to the microwave and heated it. And he acted like nothing is wrong.
