Gluten-free restaurant
The Mule in Hamilton is a popular, laid-back eatery known for its Mexican cuisine and vibrant atmosphere. Located on King William Street, it's a favorite among locals for its delicious tacos, including options like Achiote Chicken and Brussels Sprout tacos. The restaurant exudes an energetic vibe with graffiti-laden walls and upbeat music. In addition to tacos, they offer other gluten-free entrees and killer cocktails.
We just had the most incredible meal at The Mule in Hamilton, and I’m still dreaming about it. These tacos are on another level seriously, to die for. Each one is like a little masterpiece, made with the kind of creativity and balance you’d expect from sushi. The flavors are bold, unexpected, and absolutely delicious like a party in your mouth where every bite is better than the last. It’s not just food, it’s paradise for your palate. And to top it all off, our waitress “Camryn” was absolutely adorable, sweet, attentive, and very professional. She made the whole experience even better with her friendly energy. Big kudos to the chefs for putting so much thought and originality into every detail. If you’re in Hamilton and love tacos (or even if you don’t yet 😉), you need to eat here.
Safia A — Google review
Honestly the food here is okay. The Baja wings had a good flavour but I wasn’t too amazed. The tacos are quite expensive for the size and they weren’t amazing either. The best one was The Brussels Sprout taco surprisingly. The other ones were okay (the OG fish, Habanero Brisket and Cali Fried Chicken). Even the Verdita Ceviche had potential but the chips were the best part of that dish (they were coated in a nice spice, the rest of the dish was a little too watery). The place gets really crowded fast, they ended up putting us in a small corner near the entrance. Despite these things, the service was good and the staff were very nice.
Crystle — Google review
I found this place quite pricey for what it offers—$7 CAD for a tiny taco that’s just a few bites. I’ve been to other restaurants with much more affordable and satisfying options. If you enjoy small, sample-sized portions, this might be the spot for you, but don’t expect to share dishes here—everything is individually portioned. As for the flavor, the tacos were good, but nothing extraordinary or memorable. We sat outside, and while the atmosphere was pleasant, the service was a bit slow. Overall, the experience was just okay—not bad, but I wouldn’t rush back.
Larissa V — Google review
This is our go to restaurant in Hamilton. With everything being gluten free I don't have to worry about any cross-contamination. Their tacos and dip are amazing, and don't skip on the dessert either! I go here often and I've never been disappointed. They also have daily deals, their Monday big mac smash is delicious! and lastly if you are a fan of Margaritas they will have one that will steel you heart away! they have them all from sweet to spicy and they're all delicious!
Céleste R — Google review
My favourite restaurant in Hamilton - been there many times. The food is absolutely delicious, the cocktails and beer excellent, the price reasonable, the service friendly and attentive. I especially like the Mule Fried chicken and of course the tacos
Jeromet R — Google review
Raised the price, shrunk the tacos. Used to be $30 for four tiny tacos, now it’s $35 and somehow even smaller. How you even manage to do that? $9 gets you 1 oz of meat, 1 oz of veggies (0.7 oz of that is chives), and sauce. Ridiculous. And the bags? Amusingly huge, like they’re packed for 20 orders instead of one.
CJ J — Google review
Ask for Kailey if you want to have the best experience! Such amazing, attentive and personable service, not to mention she’s hilarious. She was super accommodating towards my sister’s food sensitivities and went above and beyond to ensure her food came out as she wanted. As a restaurant manager, I really appreciate coming across this kind of service. We came in with a group of 9 and were stayed at a high top, but a server overheard us saying the high chairs weren’t good for my grandmas legs and she moved things around and fixed us up a wonderful new spot without us having to ask which we were so thankful for! We were set up in Kailey’s section and I couldn’t be happier. Not only was the food incredible, but the service made the whole dinner that much more memorable. 10/10 couldn’t recommend this place more :)

So good and totally gluten free. It's always nice to not have to worry about contamination and this place rocks it. Everything we had was delicious. Fast friendly service.

Cafe
Democracy* is a trendy industrial-style cafe located on Locke Street, offering gourmet coffee, tea, and an all-vegan menu. The interior features exposed timbers, ink-black slate, and raw metal that gives it the vibe of an ultra-cool office space or high-end loft. As its name suggests, Democracy* prides itself on open-mindedness and conversation without Wi-Fi distractions.
It had been so long since we last ate at Democracy* that my wife and I had forgotten that it existed. Quite silly of us considering that I'm vegan and its one of those rare vegan restaurant options in Hamilton. Luckily, a gift certificate from a friend brought us back. The dishes are wonderfully tasty and very much comfort food. I highly recommend Democracy• to everyone, even the non-vegans in your life.
Jeff B — Google review
Love it here. It’s so cozy. Lots of their little treats and baked goods are gluten free and I believe they are all vegan. Their brunch menu is good too! Very generous portions. They always play the perfect cozy calm music, you can reserve a table which I would recommend doing on the weekends. I’m the warmer months they have some patio tables out on the sidewalk to watch all the Locke street dogs walking by. The banana bread is 20/10. I also love their matcha oat latte with strawberry syrup.
S K — Google review
I am visiting Hamilton for the week and was thrilled tonight stumble upon Democracy. I got the waffle burger and a strawberry tea lemonade. As I watched people of all ages come in and out, it was clear this is a great spot that the community loves. The food was spectacular! One of the best vegan meals I have ever had! Whoever is the cook here knows what they are doing. I will most certainly be back if I have time.
Jenaya M — Google review
I've been ordering from here for a long time. They're the only place around now that serves vegan pancakes. Because of that, I usually come on the weekend when they have the all day breakfast specials. Otherwise, I love their breaded cauliflower, always order it in the afternoons.
Jujube — Google review
I ordered their specialty latte, “banana caramel”, and it was genuinely one of the worst lattes I’ve ever had. The espresso was extremely bitter, and the syrup flavour was unpleasant to say the least. The flavour tasted nothing like what is claimed to be, did not smell great, and started separating in my drink. I asked for some vanilla syrup to counteract the bitterness and they gave it to me! However, nothing could mask the actual taste of the coffee. I also got the avocado blt and would recommend it, very tasty! Service was also amazing. But paying almost $7 for a latte I would expect the beans to be of better quality.
Husna A — Google review
Such a great coffee shop. Staff are super friendly and warm. The atmosphere inside the cafe is always cozy and I love all the plants. I dont go for food as I dont really enjoy it but the beverages are 👍🏻👍🏻!

Best cauliflower wings…. They are battered not crumbed so it’s more similar to a Chinese takeout chicken ball than to a mcnugget. 10/10 cauliflower wings!!!!!

Menu was limited and pricey for what you get. My Korean BBQ sliders weren't great. Good place for coffee and a vegan meal but I wont be back.

Nestled in the heart of Downtown Dundas, Jax Sweet Shoppe is a charming diner that transports you back to a simpler time with its vintage decor and inviting atmosphere. This delightful eatery specializes in brunch, featuring an array of delicious breakfast options like fluffy pancakes, French toast, and savory omelettes—all crafted from high-quality ingredients sourced from local suppliers.
Had a fantastic time here with my kids. Wonderful classic ice cream presentation! HIGHLY recommend trying their enormous pies, shared a slice of key lime and it was incredible.. especially the crust! The creativity and high quality of baked goods is very evident. I want to try the scones next time I visit! Environment is fantastic with a very retro feel, and very friendly staff and owner. We will be back!

Nice little shop to get a great breakfast. Service is wonderful and they truly make you feel like they care about their customers. I had the bagel breakfast sandwich and my coworker had the crepe breakfast. Both were super delicious. Great job Jax Sweet Shoppe

Checked out this little gem while in the area this weekend. It was busy and we gave our name to call us when a table was ready. Just under 15 minutes wait. Good was delicious. The staff were friendly and efficient. Definitely will be back when in the area.
Dana K — Google review
The desserts are not good. Very sugary and heavy on butter. Very dense. You might find “volumes” but not necessarily quality. The peanut jelly was impossible to eat. The whip cream was melted and they did not even replace it, it came just with a “sorry the whip cream doesn’t look good”
M S — Google review
Excellent selection of breakfast, lunch and sweets! Will definitely be coming back to enjoy some of the baking and ice cream. The breakfast was excellent, especially the Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict. I ordered some coffee that wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. Overall a very nice place to sit down and enjoy.

Quaint & Nostalgic with the best breakfast! The potatoes are pan fried & nice & crispy. the poached eggs ordered medium were perfect & jammy. The baked goods looked amazing - got 2 scones to go! I will be back!!

A just ok ham omlette and coffee for $30 is definitely not worth it. Plus the lady who cashed me out wasn't the most pleasant. Lovely wait staff though . Not worth going back to dundas for that.

My friend and I had a lovely breakfast at Jax. The sisters were so invitional, the food was very good, and it was so refreshing to eat in a small family place, rather than a chain restaurant. We also brought home baked goods with us, as we left.

The Cannon is a cozy coffee shop in Hamilton that has become a favorite among locals and visitors alike. Run by passionate owners Anne Cumby and Cindy Stout, this charming spot offers an array of tea and coffee drinks, along with delectable baked goods and brunch options. The cafe's dedication to quality is evident through Cumby's impressive achievements in barista competitions.
Hands down the best overall cafe in Hamilton based on food selection, seating, coffee/ espresso pours/ atmosphere. The Cannon nails everything — from the perfectly brewed coffee to their incredible waffles and brunch options. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, SO happy they opened up with this bigger space. the staff are always friendly, and you can tell they really care about quality and community. They’re got Bullard in front of their shop now so rest assured no more vehicles through the other entrance. 11/10 ✅

Nestled in a charming corner, this coffee shop is truly a hidden gem! ☕✨ If you’re on the lookout for a cozy spot to sip coffee and catch up with friends, look no further. The atmosphere is inviting and perfect for relaxing chats. What really stood out to me were the delicious, innovative presentations of the waffles! They’re not just a treat for your taste buds but also a visual delight. Each bite is a delightful surprise, making them the perfect accompaniment to your coffee. Don’t miss out on this fantastic place—true gems like this are worth their weight in gold!

One fine morning, we decided to skip the school bus and walk to school instead. The weather was spring cool, but the sun added a warm touch. Along the way, we made a spontaneous stop at The Cannon for hot chocolate and we definitely beat the morning rush! The drink was so beautifully presented that my son said, 'It looks too beautiful to drink.' Nevertheless, they enjoyed every sip on our walk to school. We’ll definitely be back to try more from the menu!
Annie L — Google review
the matcha here was yummy 😋 super fresh and flavourful!! the shop itself is really beautiful, though it is on the smaller side. they did forget our chocolate croissant at first, but the guy at the front with curly hair made up for it by giving us a free s’mores bar, which ended up being extremely delicious & honestly one of our new favourites. great service overall, we really appreciated the kindness & how everything was handled :)
Sherleen M — Google review
Might be my favourite coffee shop in the city. Everything on the menu is delish, but the waffle breakfast sandwich is probably my favourite. I’ve tried so many of the baked goods, and I can’t stop raving about them. Definitely the best flat white I’ve had in a while too
Layla H — Google review
Always heard good things about it and decided to try it out for a Monday lunch. My SO ordered a waffle benny and Latte and I went for a Canadian Brunch + Iced Chai Latte. The latte was good, but my chai latte lacked spices. Tasted like a nice and cold glass of milk. The food arrived and, although it looked good, it had awful hard poached eggs. On both orders. :/ My SO's benny at least had THE hollandaise sauce, but I was left with no runny yolk to spread around. Egg wasn't even good so I left it on the side. The bacon was good, but the shredded cheese on top felt cheap and that didn't help with my disappointment. Left feeling like I spent 30 dollars and got nothing back. Service was good and ambient is nice.
Bruno P — Google review
My husband and I went in for a coffee and had a wonderful experience. Their new space is absolutely delightful. The ambiance, staff and coffee and lemon/cranberry scone we purchased were top quality.
Tawnya J — Google review
What an experience! I went in with high expectations but was blown away even so. First of all, the most amazing people work here. Everyone was so kind and welcoming, which is something I especially notice and appreciate now as a hijabi, that we felt like celebrities. They were that incredible. I would come back alone for such a warm and cozy feel. They had a little cubby of books for kids that quickly became very popular with my kids. No amount of flying napkins and food or loud noises phased the staff here. The coffee: We walked away with a jar of coffee beans. The caps we got were creamy, frothy and something magical. You'll find coffee for this price but you won't find coffee like this for this price. 10/10 I want to come back and honour the rest of the coffee menu here. The food: I wasn't ready for this. Ordered the Harvest Brunch. Imagine you are sitting in PEI on a warm summer day and right outside your window, you see the rolling hills of farms where your food was harvested. Your greens are lush and crunchy, the sweet potatoes and zucchini freshly steamed soft and flavourful and your peppers crunchy and sweet. The waffle was crisp with some sauce that was DIVINE! Eggs were soft and delicious. I wanted to share, but I could not. It was unbelievably delicious and the freshness was out of this world. I snuck bites of the sweet waffle from the kids plate and it was equally delicious. I would drive here from an hour away easily for food this level. I can't wait to come back. And bring everyone else who appreciates food as I do to be delighted at the Cannon.

When it comes to delightful bakeries, Cakes Sweets & Treats stands out as a true gem. This charming establishment specializes in crafting exquisite cakes for every occasion, whether it's an intimate family gathering or a grand wedding celebration. Their creations are not just desserts; they are works of art that leave a lasting impression. Recently, I attended an engagement party where the highlight was a stunning engagement ring-shaped cake that was both visually captivating and deliciously satisfying.
First time pre-ordered Coconut Cream Pie, Turtle Cheesecake and Salted Caramel Cheese for Thanksgiving. Online ordering and payment is easy. Had my order ready upon selected date and time, quick and friendly service. Coconut Cream Pie is AMAZING! Everyone LOVED it, it was so delicious! Will ALWAYS and ONLY get Coconut Cream Pie from here now. Cheesecakes were good quality and taste also. Will definitely recommend and return to try other items. Thanks for making our Thanksgiving dessert a hit! Sorry, didn't get a pic of the Coconut Cream Pie but presentation was impressive too!

CST has become my go-to spot whenever we need a birthday cake or a special dessert. The flavours are always just right—rich but never too sweet—and everything looks so thoughtfully put together. You can tell how much care they put into their baking, and it really comes through in both the taste and the presentation. Their cakes have become a part of so many important life moments for our family, and I always feel confident ordering from them, knowing it will be delicious and beautifully done.

Super impressed with the service and quality of cake. Highly recommend Cakes Sweets & Treats for that something ‘special’ for someone special 😉

Doma Sushi is a delightful little sushi haven that every sushi enthusiast should experience. With its cozy ambiance, it's perfect for a casual date night or gathering with friends. Given its limited seating—fewer than ten tables—it's wise to make a reservation ahead of time. The service here is exceptional, ensuring your meal arrives promptly and with care. The menu features an array of dishes that cater to various tastes, including bento boxes, rolls, and sashimi.
A great sushi place! I can confidently say it was a great experience from start to finish. The standout for me was the salmon platter, which was an absolute masterpiece. The salmon was incredibly fresh, melt-in-your-mouth. The presentation was equally impressive, with the colors and arrangement of the dish making it almost too beautiful to eat. What truly elevated the experience was the service. The staff were warm and attentive, They made sure every detail was taken care of, which really added to the overall enjoyment of the meal. Highly recommend!

Maki rolls, sashimi, and udon soup were well done and tasted really good. Our party has ordered from here several times and have always been happy with the food.

First time dining here. The staff are super friendly and the food is excellent and very well priced. My wife also thought it was the best green tea she has tasted (apparently they import directly from Japan). Will visit this place often.
Robert P — Google review
I’ve been a regular customer at this sushi restaurant for some time now, and while the food has generally been good, the customer service—particularly from the young girl at the front—has consistently been disappointing. She comes across as rude and unprofessional, lacking basic customer service skills. It's unclear if she's related to the owners, but regardless of her position, she should be trained on how to interact respectfully with customers. Good service is just as important as good food when it comes to building a loyal customer base. If this is how regulars are treated, I can only imagine how new customers must feel. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, as it could impact the long-term success of the business.
Ria D — Google review
The sushi here is ELITE, some of the freshest fish I've had in Halton. We got a total of rolls, 2 Maki rolls (spicy scallop and spicy Salmon), the amazing roll and the doma roll. The amazing roll was loaded, but I find that deep frying the roll lead to the fish being slightly cooked which I personally didn't quite enjoy. The doma roll was also very good, surprisingly I found the Maki rolls to stand out the most. There was more filling than rice and having the crunchy bits inside it really elevated the experience.
Anthony — Google review
The service at Doma sushi is absolutely fantastic, and the food is prepared quickly. We ordered the red dragon roll, Hawaiian roll, and spider roll as appetizers and they were all very good but nothing special. The Hawaiian roll had a great combination of flavours and the spider roll was served warm. The quality of the raw fish, however, was not the best in both its flavour and texture. For mains we ordered the sashimi dinner the salmon teriyaki, the bulgogi beef, and the beef yaki udon. The sashimi dinner was actually good despite the other fish being mediocre. The salmon teriyaki was average. The bulgogi and beef yaki udon were both quite tasty and abundant in protein. Overall, everything at Doma sushi was good (nothing special) but we found it to be overpriced compared to other places.

The atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between casual and elegant, making it an inviting place to enjoy modern Japanese fusion cuisine. Crisp Here specializes in small plates that showcase innovative takes on traditional sushi and poke bowls.
Small restaurant located off Fairview by the Burlington Mall. Location was a little hard to see from the street as the signage wasn’t clear from street view. The service was great, very attentive and professional as well as prompt. We enjoyed the Miso Soup (delicious!!) seaweed salad (crispy and fresh) and edamame as appetizers. We also tried the tempura shrimp which came with 3 pieces, fried and not at all greasy. It also came with this wonderful and flavourful sauce. For our mains we had the Rainbow roll, Crispy Crunch roll and Salmon Poke bowl. The fish was phenomenal and very fresh. The portion size was medium/large, which was nice. Rice was good and not at all dry. Overall a good experience and would come back/recommend. I would suggest they update the decor and perhaps play music. The price was well worth it and did not break the bank. Thank you!

I was pleasantly surprised to find a place that serves great poke, sushi and sashimi here in Burlington. It's a small family run restaurant that plays their own records and has a very relaxed feel to it. The food itself felt home made and was absolutely delicious. The spring rolls and dumplings were a very flavorful appetizer with a nice light dipping sauce. The poke bowl (one salmon, the other tuna) were awesome. The Sesame dressing was perfectly light, and every ingredient in the bowl tasted quality and worked well together. Really a gem of a place in Burlington, and love that it's NOT downtown, like everything else seems to be. Amazing and attentive service, and price was very fair for the quality of food. Will definitely be going back sometime soon :)

My first visit was amazing! I can't wait to try more on their menu! I am definitely recommending this to all my friends and family! Environment: Deceiving from the outside, it seems small from the outside. An inviting balance of modern minimalism sets the backdrop to handcrafted decor and traditional Japanese and Korean tableware. Service: Extremely polite and attentive service with a smile! Food: Delicious While the poke bowl here is my first, it was nothing short of delicious! I ordered the salmon and tuna poke bowl. A good balance of dressing, fish and veggies. With just the right amount of rice. It was fresh and CRISP! The perfect summer dish! If you've never tried a poke bowl, I'd best describe it as a sushi rice bowl. A must try! The meal came with your traditional miso soup. The butter caramel sweet potato dessert was just as delicious as the rest of the meal. The sweet potato balanced out the crunchy texture of the almonds and pecans while the rice syrup and dried cranberries brought it all together! Price: Affordable Between the 2 poke bowls and dessert the whole thing was around 35 dollars for 2 people. An affordable date night out that won't leave you hungry at the end. I was surprised to see we were the only ones in the restaurant! One person seemed to come in for pickup but that was it for a Saturday night. Was this a fluke??? I must spread the word of this place! I'd hate to see it go because not enough people know about it.

Been dying to try this lil hidden gem out! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Was definitely worth the wait time for each item to arrive at our table. Compared to all the sushi I’ve had, I’d have to say this is 3rd best(No knock on this restaurant, as the 1st is obviously in Japan, 2nd is in Vancouver as it’s close-by in terms of geography to Japan 🇯🇵). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Today we tried the following: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Miso Soup[Complimentary] Crispy Crunch Roll(Best roll imo & as per the Google Reviews) Black Dragon Roll Rainbow Roll Spicy Salmon Roll Poke Salmon Beef Bulgogi

My friends and I had a wonderful experience here this afternoon. The restaurant is very clean. Not too busy and the sushi rolls are delicious! Looking forward to trying more things on the menu when we visit again.

The sushi here was great! We were impressed. The rolls were big & the fish tasted fresh. Service was very polite. Our favourites were the rainbow roll and crispy crunch rolls

Although the name doesn't really tell you what's inside the restaurant, It's a great sushi place. Lunch special is reasonably priced. Great job with the dumplings, crisp on the outside and not dry on the inside. Tuna Poke was tasty and ingredients fresh! We'll be back.

The cutest place, very cozy yet beautiful atmosphere. The owners are the sweetest, and they prepared our meal themselves. Black sesame ice cream is awesome! It's about time we have a place like this in Burlington.

Nestled in the heart of Ancaster Village, Caniche French Bakery is a delightful haven for lovers of all things pastry. This charming bakery offers an array of delectable French-inspired treats, from buttery croissants to rich pain au chocolat that are sure to tempt your taste buds. The inviting aroma of freshly baked goods fills the air as you step inside, making it hard to resist indulging in their sweet and savory options like galettes and quiches.
Had a lovely lunch here at the Caniche French Bakery!! I must say a lot of their menu items including the grilled cheese, chocolate cheesecake, carrot cake, banana loaf, and their drinks are very good! Not to mention the atmosphere and vibe of the overall bakery is very lively and 10/10 would come again!!!

Caniche is a good bakery! I very much enjoyed my sandwich, quiche, cheesecake brownie, and croissant. Also their iced vanilla latte (they make the vanilla syrup in house) was very tasty. I did find the food prices to be on the highest end, when compared to other bakery’s throughout Hamilton. However, I think for their location on the main drag of Ancaster, the food prices are appropriate for a wealthier customer base.

A little slice of Paris right in the heart of the city. This charming French café delights with the aroma of freshly baked pastries, and the gentle hum of conversation. The croissants were buttery perfection, the coffee rich and smooth, and every plate looked like it belonged in a postcard from France. A truly delightful spot for anyone who loves the art of slow, beautiful afternoon"

I dropped in this morning for breakfast while I waited for my car that was being serviced down the road, and what a treat. I ordered a personal size bacon/cheese quiche and coffee, that quiche was the best quiche I’ve ever had! The crust was perfectly flaky and the balance of cheese, egg and bacon was divine. A wonderful high protein start to my day. Thanks Caniche!

Our first time here and definetly not our last. Food was great, prices and portions very reasonable, service was excellent, restaurant was clean. The son served us and was very friendly. This may be our new favorite brunch and dinner place. Support local , you wont be dissappinted

We recently visited this family owned business for breakfast. The decor is very nice and the place including the washrooms are very clean. The service was excellent! The husband does the cooking including homemade soups, lasagna, all the sauces etc and the wife as well as their son were out front. We met all of them and we were made to feel very welcome. We ordered the Egg's Benedict and the meat lovers breakfast. The Benedict sauce was excellent, not too lemony and the eggs were cooked very soft just the way I like them. My husband's breakfast was also fantastic. The sausage and bacon weren't fatty or salty. Prices are reasonable and we will definitely be back for breakfast and looking forward to trying them out for dinner with all their fresh homemade items.

This small, family-owned Greek restaurant truly feels like a piece of Greece tucked away in the neighborhood. Every dish we tried was bursting with authentic flavor, clearly made from scratch with love and tradition in mind. The portions are generous—you definitely won’t leave hungry! The grilled meats were perfectly seasoned, the tzatziki fresh and tangy. If you’re looking for a no-frills, heartfelt experience with honest food and a homey atmosphere, this place is a must. A true reminder that the best meals often come from family kitchens. Highly recommended!

Located on James Street South, Lobby Hamilton is a trendy eatery and cocktail bar with stunning decor and an electric atmosphere. The venue offers craft cocktails, including the popular lobby espresso martini and perfect lady, as well as delectable desserts like the peanut butter pie. The spacious and aesthetically pleasing ambiance creates a unique dining experience that transforms into a club in the evening.
Recently been here and just had an amazing dining experience. The ambiance is warm and inviting, the service was spot-on, and the food? Absolutely incredible. If you're visiting this summer, make sure to try their Summer Featured Menu — it's packed with fresh, seasonal flavours that are perfect for this time of year. I highly recommend the TACOS DE PESCADO — perfectly crisp, full of flavour, and so satisfying. And if you're a pasta lover, the Truffle Pasta is an absolute must. Creamy, rich, and indulgent in the best way possible. As well as don't forget their Watermelon Salad, it's on the list of my one of the best salad. Whether you're planning a casual lunch or a night out, Lobby Hamilton is definitely worth a visit.

I was honestly expecting more. You would probably get carried away by their interior, get some drinks and forget what you are there for but good time…in my case I am rating it as a young mom coming there with a stroller for a brunch in the middle of Wednesday and no I don’t think it is for me. No one is meeting you at the front, not stroller friendly place either, loud music. Menu is pretty limited so you would expect something better as it should be mastered since you offer limited options. We came in on chilly Wednesday day and we did not get many warm options, mainly salads and dip fried stuff. I’m attaching menu as well. We got burger as it was the closest to comfort food and it was average. Large portion of fries with old fashion catchup on the side which were alright nothing special. I did ask to wrap my fries to go which I did not get although waitress did offer to make more for me but hey I am at the door with a little baby I don’t think so. Would I come back? Interior was not worth it for me but good option for a date or girls night out kinda thing I suppose but not for me. Not for food unless I’m craving salad and give them another try.

First time I came here, it was great! Food was really good, I had no complaints. I decided to take my boyfriend here for his birthday but unfortunately the food was not up to par from previous experience. Our server Jacklyn made the experience pleasant and welcoming. She was so sweet and so cute!! FOOD: Appetizers: - Truffle frites 2/5 , fries were soggy, lack of flavour (so sad because the first time I got these fries, they were sooo good) - Beef sliders 3/5, cold by the time it came to our table but had potential if they were warmer - We received a complimentary house bread 5/5 soooooo good, warm and crunchy :) Entree: - Grilled octopus 4/5 ,overall it was good! - Steak w/ side of mushrooms instead of fries 4/5, mushrooms were delicious, parts of the steak were cooked perfect, but other pieces of the steak were overcooked. Had a good sear and wasn’t chewy Dessert: - Tiramisu 5/5 , received this on the house because of my partners birthday, this was delicious, portion was large! Drink: Asian pear (something something) 3/5, it was good but I felt like it could’ve been better! Atmosphere: 10/10, loved the decor, just loved everything. Sucha beautiful place for sure :) Overall, could’ve been so much better which is unfortunate because the first time I went, I had a great experience, but because of Jacklyn, we would consider coming back :)

Perfect spot for our date night. The atmosphere is great in here. We visited during happy hour so we benefited from great prices and a little slower demand but it was packed when we left. The bartender impressed us with our Drink Tower Roulette, it tasted as good as it looked. We had a bunch of apps and they were all great!

Visited Lobby Hamilton for a friend's birthday. We had dinner and stayed for the party after, with bottle service. The food, service, and party was amazing. The venue is a beautiful, chill place to visit for food but also has high energy vibes when it turns into a night club. Shout out to the GM Matt D for hooking us up and making the night absolutely awesome!! Highly recommend this place and will be back!
Nella P — Google review
Jazzed about going to lobby based on pics of the venue. I reserved and was confused about each location. I reserved for the cocktail lounge and luckily it wasn’t a busy time (Saturday at 5pm) cause it was not suitable for our party to dine in that section (It was shorter tables). The tall bar stool dining area was not as well. The staff were accommodating and found us space outside in a covered patio bench area. It didn’t have much ambiance but was fine. The drinks and the food were the stars - from too expensive drinks ( but tasty) to apps to entrees and deserts. Our server Alexis was kind and pleasant!

Bar
The Brain Bar, located on Hamilton's James Street North, stands out as a unique and eclectic spot in the area. Despite not being a brewery itself, it boasts an impressive selection of craft beers from well-respected breweries in Ontario. The cozy hole-in-the-wall features a diverse range of over a dozen craft beers on tap, with a lineup that constantly changes, making it worth multiple visits for beer enthusiasts.
The Brain is a cute and inviting bar on James Street. They have a great assortment of craft beer, as well as espresso beverages and small bites like sandwiches and samosas. The vibe laid-back and quirky with an eccentric collection of art and mismatched furniture. Extra points for their adorable tiny patio in the back.

A cool hip not pricey local bar in the heart of Hamilton with a great craft beer selection, cocktails, and snacks. The decor is a bit funky but delightful. The service was very friendly and attentive.

Really cute bar with nice vibe and a fantastic back patio. The beer selection is incredible, and they've even got a lot of fun non-alcoholic options. Great choice if you're in the neighborhood.

My favourite watering hole. Connor plays great tunes and provides top notch service. It's such a nice vibe in there! All of the staff are amazing, kind, beautiful humans and the draught list literally has something for everyone. Highly recommend this cool James St. N staple.

I been to 6 bars in Hamilton. This has to be the worst one I ever been to. The food is not the best quality. Decorations all over the place. Drinks not the best quality compared to some of the other bars I been to. The only good thing about this place is that it closes late. Decorations kind of offended me, mixing religions and philosophies.
Shinya N — Google review
It's what you'd expect from a little bar - maybe a little less than that... Probably should be 4 stars. There isn't a proper kitchen but the food they put together is quite good. Not a huge beer selection but it's decent. Good bar service but no table service as far as I know. A solid 4, generously a 5. Would go again and could see myself being a regular if I lived in the area.
David M — Google review
I'd be a regular if I lived nearby. Large beer selection, nice vibe, no table service but good bar service, very friendly vibe. Washrooms are down a flight of stairs and have that beloved hipster broken down look. Very much reminded me of my early 20's in TO in the 'aughts. Only two washrooms, fully enclosed ungendered.
Beth D — Google review
What a good time at the brain. Such a cosey home like feel and they have a patio that is so quaint. Decor aside they sheer variety of beers and mixed drinks immediately let's you know that this isn't a generic dive bar that you're used to. The bar tenders are knowledgeable and will recommend a drink to you based on what you like .. you will definitely be taken care of here. The sandwich in the photo is the prosciutto sandwich and a bellwoods black liquids stout. Both the beer and the sandwich were incredibly delicious and I most certainly will be returning

Despite its unassuming exterior, the restaurant surprises guests with its open kitchen and talented chefs creating delectable masterpieces.
From the moment we sat down, Ryan brought an energy that was absolutely contagious. His positivity, charisma, and genuine passion for hospitality instantly set the tone for a perfect evening! Ryan’s recommendations were spot on…every cocktail he suggested was a masterpiece, perfectly balanced and bursting with flavor. As for the food, we were blown away. Each dish was beyond words, with flavours that hit every sense of your palette. You could tell he really knew and had passion for the menu. Ryan elevated the entire dining experience. We left with full hearts, full stomachs, and plans to return soon! Highly recommend

The food here has a beautiful blending of flavours nuanced by its perfect balance. The chef has created a wonderful menu that will satisfy a multitude of cravings. Every customer will leave wanting more. Ryan our server is what hospitality is about...from his own introduction to the highlighted feature (with pricing), Ryan was impeccable. His thoughtfulness was really the icing on the cake! Hot water was offered as a digestif for us -- his table of Asian customers. Of course the standard dessert + coffee was offered but when we declined the coffee, he knew just what to suggest. And yes it was his recommendation. We left wholly satisfied and will be back again for their Belgian Ale event. Atmosphere here got 3 stars due to the playlist. Too loungey for my taste. Doesn't quite suit the ambience.

This was our first visit to the Standard - we opted for the Chef’s Table tasting menu. It was absolutely superb. 7 courses - each one unique, beautifully plates and absolutely delicious. Our server (Kate) was very attentive. We were there early enough that we could chat with Chef Ivan - as the evening went on the pace in the kitchen was so quick - it was amazing to watch him and the other chefs at work. I would highly recommend this experience - which we felt was an extremely reasonable price (food and time wise - it was a very unrushed 3 hours). We are already making plans to return.

I recently had the chance to dine at a restaurant that promised an exhilarating culinary experience. The flavors were absolutely fantastic, and every bite was a delightful journey for my taste buds! However, I found the dumplings to be a bit underwhelming, failing to live up to the rest of the meal's vibrant offerings. While they were decent, they didn’t quite match the excitement of the other dishes. Overall, it was a thrilling dining adventure, just with a few hiccups on the dumpling front!
Dmytro K — Google review
This was second time here, the first time for a large event but tonight we had dinner in the main area. The atmosphere is intimate and the service was spectacular from the moment we walked in the door. We had to wait a few minutes for our table to be flipped but the host was very welcoming and friendly. Our server Sarah and the rest of the staff were attentive and always made sure we were taken care of. Our food took longer to come out than it normally would as our order ended up being put in after a large group. We weren’t upset as we were chatting while having a few drinks, but the management team went above and beyond, taking care of a few of our drinks. Truly a testament to their exceptional service. It’s so difficult to find good service, good food and great atmosphere all in one place these days but tonight, The Standard truly delivered for us. Will definitely be coming back.

The large plate shrimp + chorizo was clearly overcooked. The shrimp itself was of good quality, firm and tender. But one side had burnt black spots that made it taste bitter. This problem was even more happened on the shishito peppers. The dessert consisted of a pear jelly not listed on the menu (I wasn't entirely sure what it was). It was a bit sour and didn't blend well with the tart. The scallop sashimi was overly seasoned, not my type. I had planned this meal for my birthday, but it was a complete disappointment. With better options available, I don't think I'll be back.
