I stayed at The Royal with my wife and two girls for two nights. We had a fantastic time. The room was amazingly clean and the hospitality was fantastic. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and I cannot find a fault at all. So much so that I have booked for us to stay there for a whole week next year. Looking forward to it!

Absolutely brilliant place to see, have a walk all over as the murals are excellent. We've ate there twice, a group of four and six and everyone was very very pleased. Prices are all very fair. I gather the time are also excellent. An easy five star place, good luck to the owners. Paul.

Really enjoyed my visit to The Roal. The staff were friendly and gave a warm welcome as soon as we walked in, which made all the difference. The pint of Thatchers Gold was spot on — ice cold and properly poured. It’s a relaxed, inviting place, and I’d 100% go back again for drinks or food. Great atmosphere and service — definitely worth a visit.

Well from the moment we checked in the staff were very friendly and professional. Room was very spacious and well equipped. Fridge and fan which we didn't expect and the tea tray didn't disappoint. We stayed for five nights and even though we were right above the front door noise was expected but not really an issue. You are pre-warned before booking: guests have their own entrance so don't have to go through bar if don't want to which was nice. You can choose your breakfast the night before from a tick list but don't have to: we found it very helpful. Going for breakfast in the morning was a look forward to moment because from the first morning to the last we were greeted with a smile and a laugh from the exceptional team of the chef and especially Brian(Daddy). Paul(Puppy). And banana. We had such a laugh and set us up for the day with a smile: Can't recommend this place to stay enough. We had a fantastic time there: will definitely be going again. Love Gavin & Stacey (Lisa)

Wonderful stay, quirky building with bags of character and the most unique art work inside adding to its charm. Mark and Yvonne are wonderful friendly and accommodating hosts and the staff are very attentive and hardworking. Drinks are super reasonable too. 10/10 thankyou 🥰

We cannot fault this fantastic friendly place , wow , just wow . From the moment we arrived to when we left we were amazed at how friendly the place was . Every staff member we met was so welcoming and friendly and nothing was too much trouble . We had room 8 , spotlessly clean and with a lovely well stocked coffee and tea station . Immaculate bathroom with a brilliant shower . The breakfast was amazing all served by a very cheerful man whose name we didn’t get and nothing was too much trouble . We highly recommend The Royal with all its quirky features . Just an amazing experience. Your staff are a credit to you .

Restaurant
Located in the heart of Barmouth, The Last Inn is a welcoming pub that invites both locals and tourists to enjoy its cozy atmosphere. The establishment boasts a charming interior adorned with maritime decor, creating an inviting setting for patrons to savor a pint of beer and delightful company. Additionally, visitors can indulge in delectable meals while being entertained by live music on select evenings. This renowned establishment also extends a warm welcome to canine companions, allowing them to accompany their owners in the bar area.
The Last inn, I have eaten here now three times and each time had ribeye steak as never fails to disappoint and holds the title in my mind as the best steak I’ve had. A generous portion sizes with banging peppercorn sauce. We visited on a busy Saturday and managed to find a table which was lucky as is often fully booked. The owner Ted was very helpful explaining the menu, which was a huge interest to my girlfriend as loves fresh fish which they offer served which a variety of different sauces, she went with tomato and basil which was delightful. The menu is full of options for everyone, the portion sizes are good and drinks available at a reasonable price. They allow well behaved dogs which is a bonus. Next time we will be back but ensure we book in advance. Highly recommended!

Beautiful place, very well-appointed and decorated. We had the opportunity to eat a main course and a dessert; everything was delicious. Recommended. (Dogs are welcome.)

Was highly recommend so called in treat ourselves. I settled for the sea bream with a side of king prawns which I found very disappointed by 5 prawns in a burnt garlic sauce just short of £7 a fillet of sea bream which came with a sauce with absolutely no flavour were had to ask bar person what it was . My husband had the burger with side of onion rings which look amazing but full of oil .Very disappointed
Mark L — Google review
I've always had a special place in my heart for the last inn! They really know how to throw a great time with live bands and awesome disco nights, not to mention their fantastic food menu. I recently tried their new special, a surf & turf sharing platter, and I went for the ribeye from a local butcher. You can pick from a variety of chips or fries, and I opted for their truffle & parmesan fries, so delicious! The ribs were incredibly tender, and the meat just fell off the bone. Seriously, everything was cooked to perfection! It was such a delightful experience!
Matthew B — Google review
Steak and Guiness pie here is incredible, proper wedge, not one of those diddly little pot pies with just a lid. Would definitely recommend. Great service! Good gluten free options available for my partner too.
SUEDE — Google review
Stumbled into this cracking pub and, by some divine pub-god miracle, we landed the golden seat – a table for two right by the door. Prime spot for people-watching… or judging, depending on how many Guinnesses you’ve had. Speaking of which – the Guinness? Top draw. Creamy, cold, and smoother than a Barry White album. The missus went full Somerset and ordered a Cheddar Valley cider. One pint in, she was already talking like a Wurzel. We ordered grub – well, she did: a fish sandwich with Stilton, bacon, and chunky chips. Sounds like it shouldn’t work. Tasted like it was sent from heaven by a beer-bellied angel. Proper filling too – no messing about. Back on the train, I’m buzzing from the black stuff and chatting nonsense. Turn to see the missus? She’s sparked out. Cider had kicked in like a tranquiliser dart. 10/10 would do it all again.

Quirky pub....last one as you leave Barmouth! Fab service and good range of beers on tap.

Quite busy when we arrived but there was a table available. Bustling for a weekday afternoon - atmosphere was great. Food was fantastic and they accommodated changing a dish to vegetarian. They sell decent treats for dogs too.

The restaurant provides an intimate and relaxed atmosphere, making it an ideal spot to enjoy delectable meals. With its cozy and warm setting, Bistro Bermo promises absolutely delicious food for visitors to savor.
We’ve eaten here many times and are never disappointed. Today was a fairly impromptu Sunday lunch. The croquettes were delicious (I could have been happy just eating plate after plate of these!) and then we chose the duck with a honey, ginger and brandy sauce - the latter was so gorgeous my husband had an extra jug. We shared a chocolate dessert - sublime. All complemented by a Portuguese red. Thank you for a wonderful lunch on a grey Sunday.

soo lovely! we had the salmon and goats cheese starters, monkfish and cod loin for mains, and the ‘alaska’, affogato, and blackcurrant sorbet for desert. all were DELICIOUS but especially the ‘alaska’, it was unreal!!

Was lucky to stumble upon this restaurant while we were visiting Barmouth for the day. Not a big restaurant but the interior was elegantly decorated with bossa nova playing in the background. I had duck pate for starters and it was up to standard. My partner had poached egg, Stilton and mushrooms which was incredible! We also had rack of lamb which was very tender. Definitely worth visiting again!
Joli B — Google review
Perfectly formed local bistro with delicious food. The restaurant is tiny with only about 14 places per sitting and our waitress was attentive and warm. We had salmon and beef wellington's and they were absolutely delicious. One of the highlights of a week stay in the area and highly recommended.
Helen W — Google review
I booked a table here for the Friday evening, it was so good I returned for dinner on the Saturday. Food is beautifully cooked. Presentation is fantastic too. An inventive and interesting menu. A tiny gem. You need to book to ensure you get a table. Prices are reasonable for the quality of the ingredients and the imagination of the chef. All the staff were friendly, welcoming and attentive. Will definitely return.
Alison G — Google review
Absolutely delightful dinner! All food was simple and prepared with such care, incredibly satisfying, including desserts (and good desserts are hard to come by!). The wine selection was also really good, not too pricey but perfect for the food and very enjoyable. Excellent atmosphere and service. Will be back if in town again!

Lovely restaurant in Barmouth. Greeted in person on arrival by Debbie and given choice of table. Very attentive service. Food prepared well and attractive.

Booked a table for a special birthday and we wasn't disappointed. A friendly welcome when we arrived and a relaxing atmosphere. My 7 month old grandson was with us and although he was well behaved we felt at ease throughout. We were particularly impressed with the Vegan menu that gave some good options. All Food was delicious and everyone left pleased.

Very nice and cozy place! Food was amazing! Could you please share the sauce recipe of lamb shank?? It was delicious

Turned up yesterday for a table of 6 and hadn't booked, I think more by luck we were able to get a table. The restaurant was spotless, the staff were great and the food was amazing, infact the food was faultless. This is a little family run gem of a business which isn't normally open of a Sunday evening after 5pm but accommodated helping out the town for a busy bank holiday weekend! It's a shame more venues didn't do the same. We look forward to a return visit in the near future and also a visit to your Cafe directly opposite as l'm sure this is going to be the same quality! have seen comments regarding overpriced, This isn't true at all! It is very much priced average for the area but yet I believe for the quality and service, you are definitely getting your moneys worth here! see you soon Scott & Family

Friendly, welcoming and informal restaurant offering a range of dishes. Chose the special which was a whole seabream, delicious. The skin was crispy and salty and the flesh beautifully cooked. Came with a wide selection of vegetables. Would definitely return 😊
Jane J — Google review
Absolutely amazing. The food was 10/10. We had a Sunday lunch beef with Yorkshire pudding it was beautiful. I had a desert of lemon drizzle cake and custard and hubby apple pie with cream and ice cream. Value for money and would definitely pop in again when we are in the area. Definitely recommended. Well done !!
Samantha C — Google review
The food wasn't great. My husband had the mussel and calamari penne and I had poached plaice with crab meat in a seafood sauce. The food we got was over cooked and it seems the mussels were a cheap frozen pack and the result was rubbery in texture. The cream sauce that it came with it was unseasoned and bland. The plaice was also over cooked and rubbery around the edges. The crab meat was unexpectedly missing and replaced with the same rubbery mussels and calamari that was on my husbands plate. Again, the creamy seafood sauce was unseasoned and bland. We ordered diet coke as our drinks these were poured from 500ml little bottles. We were waiting ages to get our bill and the older waitress walked past our table oblivious to us. The desserts were tiny and were all bought in frozen Costco specials. But the portions were half what the recommended ones were. This is a coastal town where seafood should be fresh, easy to find as this was a seafood restaurant it should have been beautiful and amazing to dine there, but it just wasn't nice.

If you're on the lookout for a laid-back dining experience in Barmouth, The Barmouth Bar & Grill is definitely worth considering. This vibrant pub offers a relaxed atmosphere that embodies the charm of traditional British establishments. Their menu boasts an array of grilled meats, hearty burgers, and vegetarian delights, all crafted with high-quality ingredients and bold flavors.
Recently Found this little gem by accident, stayed here with my two boys after a busy day exploring North Wales. Greeted with extremely friendly staff. Shown to our penthouse suit which held stunning views. Ate dinner at the bar, food was incredible. Perfect location to explore the near-by beach. Very cosy room provided excellent sleep for us all to continue our adventures after a lovely breakfast. Highly recommend.
Lyndon D — Google review
My sister and I loved our one night stay here. The room looked newly renovated and was immaculate, bed was very comfortable and we liked being able to make a hot drink after our day cycling. The spacious bathroom with large walk in shower was again spotless. The only slight note I would say is there is no heated towel rail so it did initially feel a little cool in the bathroom now that the nights are a bit cooler. I have to also mention the amazing staff, particularly Katie who went above and beyond from my first call to help with accommodating our needs. Everyone was friendly and helpful . We ate in the pub in the evening and we both enjoyed our meal and breakfast in the morning was delicious. Obviously the accommodation is located above the pub so there is some noise but we didn't find it excessive and it soon quietened down when the bar closed. We were located on the first floor and you do hear the other guests coming and going but again this wasnt a big issue. We would definitely stay here again if visiting Barmouth. Thanks to the whole team

Stopped here for dinner one night whilst staying in barmouth. The service was very quick and food was lovely. I had Persian spiced chicken kebab and fries, i was expecting a few little cubes of chicken but it was piled on. My partner said his gammon and chips was really good too
Tasha J — Google review
I haven't left any reviews for years but was so impressed by this place. It was clean witn plenty of seating and felt like such good value. The ribeye was a good size and amazing quality as was the fish and chips. We also got quite a few sides and they were all amazing quality. Really good value for what you get and in a great location too.
George B — Google review
Nice enough pub with a decent pint of Staropramen and polite staff. Unfortunately, the food let it down. My burger was so processed it barely resembled meat inside, the taste was just about acceptable. My daughter’s lasagne was average at best, and my other daughter’s pizza didn’t go down well at all, only one slice was eaten, half of that by me trying it. Not for me, I’m afraid.
Matt W — Google review
We had a delicious fish and chips. The fish was lovely, nice batter. The chips lovely and hot and crisp on the outside, fluffy in the inside. Home made tartar sauce was a pleasant surprise. And mushy peas to finish it off. I must also point out that the toilets were spotless (I always think about the kitchen when I see the toilets). No

We arrived without a booking, on bank Holiday Monday, and were found a table almost straight away. Really friendly service and the meals were fantastic! All freshly cooked and brought to our table in good time. We really love this place; we've been many times before and will definitely be going again.

I visited with my partner this place two months ago and I just remembered to add this review becouse this place was so good that I can't just let it go! We have been welcomed without booking. Restaurant is dog friendly as you see on the pictures. I had extremely big and delicious flatbread and my partner burger what she said was also fresh and full of flavour. Fries was hot and crispy as should be, salad and vegetables tasted like someone just pick them up from the garden. 😋 When next time I will be visiting Barmouth this place will be on my list to make my belly happy! See you soon! 💙

I absolutely adore this establishment, as I have had the pleasure of staying here on multiple occasions. Whether I am traveling alone and seeking a sense of security or accompanied by my spouse, I always feel safe and well taken care of. The level of service provided is exceptional, with impeccably tidy and cozy rooms that ensure a comfortable stay. One individual in particular, Joe, deserves special recognition for consistently going above and beyond to guarantee an outstanding experience.
We are staying in the Barmouth area for two weeks and we have dined here three times. The menu is outstanding and the food is beyond delicious. I have rarely had better food anywhere than I have here. Fine dining at its best and not overly expensive either and the food is worth every penny. The staff are also very friendly and also knowledgeable about the menu. There is also an excellent wine menu. Also a welcoming bar and outside area if you just want to have a drink. I can't recommend highly enough!

Wow what a Sunday lunch! This meal was incredible across all courses. The staff were very warm and friendly. They went above and beyond for us yesterday. Savannah was exceptional and managed to fit us in following us booking the wrong day. Absolute star. Highly recommend this restaurant.

This place is amazing!! Me and my partner went there to celebrate my birthday and our engagement and we couldn’t have been more impressed!! We were warmly welcomed as we entered by both the manager and waitress, wished a happy birthday, congratulated on our engagement, told of anecdotes of one of their engagements and just thoroughly well looked after. The service was 10/10, no notes!! And the food, omg incredible is an understatement. I wouldn’t call myself a connoisseur of fine food but dear god I’m going to try to be now because everything was just incredible. Seasoned and cooked to perfection we couldn’t have enjoyed the whole experience any more! Well done team!!!

We had a great experience at The Fanny Talbot. From the moment we stepped through the door, every member of staff made us feel welcome. There’s a warmth and friendliness to the team that makes the whole visit memorable—but a special mention must go to Savannah, attentiveness, infectious smile elevated the entire evening. The food was exceptional. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared, but it was the depth of flavour in the sauces that truly stood out—rich, balanced, and utterly delicious. It’s clear the kitchen team takes real pride in their craft. We left already thinking about our next visit. Thank you to everyone who made it such a special evening—we hope to return one day soon!

A great restaurant for true foodies. Beautifully presented food, with expertly combined flavours. Portion sizes were perfect to enjoy multiple dishes. We had a 3-course lunch and enjoyed every bit of it. Professional service. The drinks selection was excellent too.

This is an excellent restaurant. The food is beautifully prepared and there is a well chosen wine list. The service is crisp and welcoming, the atmosphere is warm and the prices are very reasonable, considering the quality. It’s a really lovely place to have a meal. Top marks.

Restaurant is intimately decorated with low lighting and a nice ambience. Had a nice little courtyard out front for pre/post meal drinks. Staff very attentive, able to recommend alcohol free drinks and adjust cooking of raw meat due to being pregnant. We had the 2 and 3 courses and it was beautiful. Perfect for a special occasion .

Gem of an establishment. We popped in for lunch. The food was amazing. Particular standouts were the lamb and pork belly with the side order of chips being some of the best ever. Dog friendly and extremely reasonable prices considering the hight standard of food and good portions. Highly recommended. I would definitely go again.

Foxglove is a cozy and dog-friendly restaurant in Barmouth that stands out for offering 100% organic vegan food. It's a unique dining option where you can enjoy a leisurely breakfast or lunch with your furry companion. The staff is known for being very friendly and welcoming to dogs, making it highly recommended by visitors. The restaurant offers a five-course set menu featuring organic and locally sourced products as well as foraged food.
On a holiday to Wales, I was looking for a vegan restaurant. I saw that the Foxglove was nearby and had incredible reviews, and I knew I had to visit. I am so glad the reviews were right, as I cannot explain how amazing my experience at the Foxglove was. This unassuming small and cozy restaurant is run by the lovely owners, Antonella and Luke. They forage and create an amazing 5-course tasting menu that changes weekly. Each course came out looking beautiful and so interesting and Antonella explained what each component was. I was fascinated and so impressed by the details. I have never had anything quite like it, and in an age of faux meat, the ingredients did all the talking. Luke, the chef, was so humble in his creations. He worked in a Michelin-starred restaurant, and this showed by the standard of food. It was a fine dining meal but with the ambiance of eating at your friend's house. As a vegan of 5 years, this was one of the best meals I have ever had. Everything, for me, was perfect, and I am very grateful to have found this restaurant. I am just so sad that I live five hours away, but I will definitely come back again. Thank you again Antonella and Luke, Michelle and Neil
Michelle M — Google review
What a vegan gem! Nestled in beautiful Barmouth. From start to finish Antonella was incredibly attentive and informative about the wonderful menu and foraged delights on offer. The food was amazing! Textures, flavours and seasonal produce all meticulously planned and considered. And to finish a wonderful after dinner conversation with Antonella, super chef, lovely next door neighbour and dog Axel. Overall an excellent evening. 🙂🙏
Dizzy J — Google review
I don’t ever write reviews but this place is something very special! Antonella & Luke not only provide an exceptional, dog and child friendly dining experience! The food is divine! Being an avid new forager from the east of the country, I had never tried chanterelles or hedgehog mushrooms! Antonella made sure she save me both & sent me away with some to cook myself! I really wish I lived closer & won’t ever forget this exceptionally special meal! How this place doesn’t has a 6 month waiting list is beyond me! Thank you so much Antonella & Luke!
George R — Google review
We travelled an hour and a half to eat here and it was completely worth it. Incredible vegan organic food, and so inventive. I've never eaten food quite like it. The atmosphere is wonderful too. We're already trying to work out when we can come back.
Jamie G — Google review
As a lifelong meat eater this was a very different dining out experience for me. One that I definitely do not regret trying. From the initial welcome the evening was excellent. Detailed explanation of every course including what has been foraged and from where. The atmosphere and food was excellent. Not only delicious (yes I am talking about vegan food) but beautifully presented. A pregnant lady on the table next to us had picked a book on vegan pregnancy off the shelf to look at & was told she could take it home. My partner commented how much she had enjoyed some of the items and was told how to source them rather than any attempt to sell them with a mark up. I will always be a meat eater & these guys are not ones to try and convert you. I am looking forward to visiting again. Thank you for a wonderful evening
Nigel W — Google review
We had an amazing meal at Foxglove recently. Just love this place. Staff are really friendly and dogs are made VERY welcome too. Highly recommended, well worth our 5 hour round trip and we'll definitely be back. The food is all vegan but the 2 tables closest to us, the people were non-vegan and loving the food. 5*
Jan F — Google review
Every single dish we polished off. The menu was incredible. We tried foods that had been foraged that we have never tried before. The owners are so friendly and I would recommend anyone to go there. We thought the prices were beyond reasonable for the 5 courses and the knowledge the owners had about their food. They were also so accomodating for our anxious rescue dog. An amazing experience 💚✨️
Tara — Google review
We came to Barmouth for a long weekend and was so delighted to have found Foxglove. We are not strict vegans but try and eat as clean and healthy as we can. After seeing the images online and seeing the only menu option was a £45 course taster. We had no hesitation to book. Everyone of the courses was delicious, each had a flavour and character of their own, not one of them disappointed. The staff were lovely and very accommodating, the Kombucha and Prosecco washed down each dish perfectly. I would love to give Foxglove 5 stars but sadly the housekeeping of the toilet let the whole experience down, if only they would put enough passion in to the cleanliness of the toilet as they do with their food I would even give 6 stars. Keep up the good work Floxglove but please spend a little money on your washroom, a good deep clean would go along way to give your clients a fantastic experience. Can’t wait to visit again when we’re back in Barmouth.

No visit would be complete without having fish and chips from The Mermaid Barmouth. Local and tourist favourite. 11.45 we were queued up up ready for it to open small fish and chips £6 medium £7 excellent value. Really enjoyed our meal, you can sit in or take away. If like us you have to queue its well worth the wait.

On holiday with my sister and a friend, we liked the look of this cafe, so called in for our meal. My fish, chips, and pineapple fritter were absolutely amazing. Very very tasty 😋 and hot. The chips were crispy on the outside, delicious. The tea machine wasn't working so I was told we could go to the bakery next door to buy a cuppa and bring it back to have with my meal. Wow! Not only were our drinks nice and hot. They sold cakes. I was spoilt for choice and could have bought loads. But I only bought a Chelsea bun and a Vienese. Ver large cakes and worth every penny. Great value for money. I think 2 teas, 1 coffee, and the cakes cost about £12. My meal cost £9. Very reasonable. I definitely recommend The Mermaid - and the bakery of course.

The best of Wales. Always busy. We need to wait for at least 5 to 10 minutes. The time i were there was nearly 5 pm in the evening. I waited around 20 minutes . The best fish and ships in the whole UK . No parking. Only 17 people can eat in. The batter fried cod fis was so succulent inside and crispy outside, and the wedges they fry a massive amount of it not from the refrigerator just chop in the machine and into the pool of good quality oil we can see through the glasses itself.

We had two mini fish and chips @ £7 each for myself and partner .. kids had chicken nuggets and chips in smaller boxes. Total £24 The chips on the top appeared nice but mini fish really tiny wasn’t goi g to do a review but after you eat fee nice chips on top your left with hard crispy bits the left overs from the fryer .. it was in all 4 boxes so obviously a bulking trick they use… never again will we go there .. its a trick to get you im as you see people lining up to go in !!!!

1st time I had been however girlfriend knew about . Found a table but luck of the draw if you get one . We arrived at the right time as 10mins later the que was starring. Cooked fresh . Lovely piece of cod Plenty of chips all tasted amazing!! 10 out of 10 !!

Best fish and chips I have had in Wales. Spicy curry sauce amazing. Possibly best curry sauce in UK. Cod cooked perfectly. Chips perfectly cooked. Best spam fritter have ever tasted. Location great as a 2 minute walk to the beach. There was a queue before it opened. And a queue after we finished our meal at one of their tables. People for a reason. Not because the service is poor, the service was superb. There is a queue because of how good this place is. When in Barmouth or that part of Wales, the Mermaid is a must.
Paul C — Google review
I tried a few things in the same order, sausage, chips, gravy all beautifully cooked and very tasty but I also got a fish and unfortunately every bite seemed to had bones which is a massive put off for me. I will definitely go again but I won't be able to order a fish again, very disappointing as what I did try of the fish was again very tasty and had a lovely batter.
Honest J — Google review
About an hour queue for this chippy, with people queuing down the street. Had a big group order which took less than 10 mins to make. The curry sauce was nice, but I think the portion of chips should be bigger compared to the price and how long people wait for it. I also had a halloumi fritter which was nice too, but a bit greasy underneath (which is to be expected). The two girls on the till (20/8/25 at 630pm) were sweet and helpful with our order even once we added one more portion of chips after the order had gone to the card reader.

Davy Jones Locker is a popular dog-friendly restaurant located right on the harbor, offering outdoor seating for guests with pets. Known for its generous portions and fresh seafood, it's a great spot to enjoy a meal after a beach walk. The quirky nautical-themed building provides great views of Cader Idris across the estuary. Visitors praise the friendly service and delicious menu, which includes scrumptious breakfasts, sandwiches, and traditional dinner dishes.
Fantastic views. Quirky cosy character is seated inside. V tasty food including gluten and dairy free options for friend. Friendly staff. What's not to love.

I came in here for breakfast as it looked a great cafe and it was, plenty of seating inside and out right next to the water which made the location absolutely fantastic.i ordered a breakfast and coffee which cost £14.95 which I thought was a bit expensive but it is in a tourist destination so I think you've got to expect that. The breakfast was good but again like a breakfast had yesterday the sausages were awful. Absolutely the cheapest rubbish sausages you could get and paying that price you'd expect the best quality ingredients. The rest of the breakfast was absolutely fine and I really enjoyed it.Just buy some decent sausages and it would have been great. The staff were fantastic and I couldn't rate them high enough.I'd definitely come back here as the cafe is excellent as is the location but I'll have lunch next time instead of breakfast
Ian B — Google review
Called in for breakfast and found it busy which you would expect in August. The wait to put my order in was longer than the wait for the food so it balanced out overall. I had the cooked breakfast and it was very well cooked but the sausages are not my thing as they tasted cheap and deep fried. Some people like them but I'd settle for a single quality sausage than two cheap ones. Other than that highly recommended.

Had a fantastic meal here with a beautiful view over the water. The breakfast was hearty, freshly cooked, and full of flavour. Friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere made it even better. Perfect spot to relax and enjoy good food by the sea.

Visited last Sunday, at 9 o'clock and it was already almost full. We always stop there for breakfast passing through Barmouth. A place we always enjoy and try to sit outside with fab views of the harbour. A lovely breakfast as always, definitely a great stop to make. Lovely atmosphere, friendly helpful staff. Excellent choice of food and drinks, nice to see more than 5 tea choices. Food excellent, presentation excellent, nothing too much trouble. Food arrived fairly quickly, despite it being a fairly busy time. There is a large selection of cakes in the fridge for sale. There are tables outside as well. There are no toilets, but there are some across the road. Great experience overall. Highly recommended

The Bank Restaurant in Barmouth is a contemporary venue located in a tastefully renovated old Natwest bank. It is one of the 30 best restaurants in Barmouth, offering an exciting dining experience. The restaurant opened its doors in November 2016 and has since become a popular choice for locals and visitors alike. With its unique setting and passion for culinary excellence, The Bank Restaurant provides a delightful dining option in coastal Barmouth.
This place is AMAZING! The asparagus and pea soup are heavenly. Strongly recommend! Every dishes is tasty. We order lamb meatball humus, scalap , beetroot carpaccio and soup for starter. For main we order lobster, prawn tagliatelle, duel beef, and duck breast. Tagliatelle is a bit too creamy(but the salmon on top is cooked perfectly), but everything else is simply very very well cooked. Would definitely revisit when we get a chance. This place is at least a bib gourmet if Michelin ever come and rate this place.

Fab meal at the bank. The crab starter was immense and all three of our mains where top quality. The bread and olive oil was free and was gorgeous. Would highly recommend the bass.
Matthew M — Google review
Lovely meal, I started with a gift from the kitchen: warm focaccia bread and olive oil. I couldn't decide between the Ham Croquettes and the Crispy Seaweed with Aioli. After speaking to the staff about their preference, I ended up ordering both, oops! No regrets. The seaweed was delicious, and I could have easily taken a box of it home with me. For the starter, I chose Pan-Fried Scallops with Sweetcorn Puree and Chorizo. It was a little overdone with the watercress, but everything tasted fantastic, especially the sweetcorn puree. For the main course, I ordered Pork Tenderloin with Black Pudding Bonbon, Crackling, Mustard Mash, Braised Savoy Cabbage, and Apple Cider Jus. Everything was beautifully cooked! #barmouth #restaurant #mocktail #pork

We booked a table in advance and it was expected to be slightly high end kind of restaurant. The service was exceptionally good and welcomed. The food price wasn't over the top but portion of foods could be dainty. The lamb rump with a bed of leek cheese sauce was a little like a messy presentation but cheesy and somehow is slightly too salty than my liking. Asparagus peas ricotta vegetarian lagsane was yummy, the fried courgettes were nice to eat. Dessert bread and butter pudding in whiskey custard sauce was really dainty and crispy bread. How I wish the whiskey sauce could be more generous than it was. Thank you for the great table service and complimented foccacia bread and olive oil. Hopefully next time we there again can try other dishes. I was hopeful to get another bottle local beer but colder and more heads than the one I had.

We’ve been going to the Bank every year now for eight years. The food is always excellent and the service friendly and efficient. The chef is clearly very talented and it’s great to see a family run business achieving such high quality. We have two girls and they’ve always enjoyed eating at The Bank too, and the menu has enough variety and is flexible enough to accommodate them.

5 star all the way. The best duck leg I've ever had. My partner had steak and it was cooked to perfection. The place was clean, the staff very attentive and as I've said before, the food was one of the best we've had.

This place serves fantastic food but it's so much more than that. The service both times we visited was above and beyond and my sister was made to feel both welcome and relaxed on each interaction. I travel the world for food when I can and the dishes here were of a very high standard, especially the risotto. The service stood out and was possibly the best I have known in my worldwide quest for food. Hence we returned twice in 4 days.
Bruce S — Google review
A restaurant only open for dinner. Pre-booked for 2 people, we had half hot lobster and white crab for starters, surf&turf and risotto for main course, rum caramelised bananas and affogato as dessert. A bit disappointed with the prawn from the surf&turf, it was far too salty which is nearly ruin the balance. Overall, It was a great experience, I would give 4 and half stars. Friendly staff, fresh and healthy ingredients and nice atmosphere. Best dining in local area so far would definitely recommend.

If you're seeking a delightful dining experience in Barmouth, The Lobster Pot is a top choice for seafood enthusiasts. Situated near the beach, this charming restaurant offers a genuine taste of Welsh coastal cuisine. Adorned with maritime decor, it immerses diners in Barmouth's seafaring culture. The menu features an array of fresh catches such as lobster, crab, prawns, and various fish dishes.
went there twice in just a few days, the young staff were brilliant super polite. Luke delivered our food super quickly with a smile (even on a busking hot day) They do takeouts as well. i wasn't expecting much from a seaside cafe, however i was surprised, Fresh seafoods and opted for mackerel salad (very generous size - could have shared between two) friend had dressed crab, and the other mussels and fries - lovely outdoor and indoor seating, great location and simple fresh food menu.

Food was really good. Might not be the lowest price in town but it was totally worthy. I liked the sea view from the window too.

We visited The Lobster Pot yesterday for a late lunch. All dishes were excellent, arrived promptly and tasted great. My daughter loved her Seafood Linguine, while my better halfs Thai Prawn Burger was fantastic. I really enjoyed my Seafood Medley too. Overall, an excellent place for lunch and decent value for money too.

Love this place, great food and helpful staff. Food is delicious be it breakfast or lunch. Dogs welcome inside or out. Lovely views from the outside seating across the estuary.

We visited the Lobsterpot this week hoping for a lovely experience, as the website looked so nice. The place is pleasant but tight, we were seated near the kitchen door so my husband, who sat with his back to the narrow walkway, constantly had the staff squeezing by with dishes of food and was bumped into a few times. Not the staffs fault at all, they were lovely, it's just very narrow. We ordered a mackerel and potato salad and a prawn and avocado salad. My husband didn't eat his fish, it was all bones. My salad had 3 small slices of avocado and shrimps rather than prawns. They were just mostly green leaves. It was expensive for what it was. We were very disappointed and wouldn't go again. There wasn't even a bathroom, you had to cross the road to use public toilets. More like a cafe really. Would not recommend.

Fabulous service. We ordered and didn’t have to wait any longer than 5 minutes! Would definitely recommend it was fabulous and will be back again! Friendly staff can’t fault this place. It’s worth going to Barmouth just to visit this place!

Nice little place next to the harbour. Food was acceptable if not overpriced for what it was. My food was the Cod giujons on a bap with fries. The bun was a little dry as the two giujons did not fill the bap, and there was only one lettuce leaf with no garnish, etc. Edible, but for the price, I would expect a little more. Fries were good and lots of them. Two adult meals and a child's meal came to over £36 without drinks, so it seems expensive. I would add that I overheard some of the younger staff swearing to each other but within earshot of my 4 Yr old granddaughter so not overly impressed although they were friendly and attentive with the customers. A mixed review. Would I go again? Maybe, if the price was lower and the staff kept their conversation professional within earshot of customers.

Fast food restaurant
Isis Pizzeria is a charming and relaxed eatery that promises an array of delectable pizzas, catering to both meat lovers and vegetarians alike. Nestled by the harbor, it’s just a short walk from Wynnstay, making it an ideal spot for casual dining. The menu extends beyond pizza to include salads and various meal options available throughout breakfast, lunch, and dinner hours. For those who enjoy a drink with their meal, Isis Pizzeria is also licensed to serve wines and beers.
This is an amazing restaurant in an amazing location. Good menu of pizzas, burgers, paninis, baguettes, wraps, potatoes. We ate here twice while in the area because the food was so good (and service) I had pizza both visits (Chorizo & hot honey / Goats cheese) and the dough was really really good. Plenty of toppings and the tomato sauce was excellent. (I took away some of the pizza and reheated it in the microwave in our accommodation and it was nearly as good as it was in the restaurant - which is always a good sign of a quality pizza dough) My wife had the cod goujon ciabatta which was also very good. Perfectly breaded flaky cod and not greasy at all. The portion of dough balls were also lovely. Big and doughy with lots of lovely garlic butter to dip in. This might look like just another restaurant in a beach town but I highly recommend the food here, and we'll definitely be back next time we're in the area.

Nice area and good location. We ordered the pizza and it was not good. It was under cooked and doughy. Couldn’t finish it and repeated on me all day
Rider88 — Google review
Lovely little pizza place. We were struggling to find somewhere to eat on bank holiday Friday. We asked if we could eat and they said an hour wait. We were hungry and this was more than acceptable. The food arrived after 35 minutes so that was a bonus. The staff were lovely and friendly and when the food arrived it was really nice. We had the meat feast and a pepperoni pizza with sides of tempura prawns chips and onion rings. The pizzas were amazing and the home made bases were delicious. The prawns were banging too! There were a variety of sauces you could have (brown sauce I assume for the breakfast menu). My only recommendation would be bbq as I like that with pizza crusts. Overall very happy with this eatery.
William F — Google review
We ordered 4 pizzas and they all arrived in varying degrees of under cooked to slightly too well done. It wasn't the end of the world but it was odd to not have the table checked after receiving mains. Staff didn't really have a presence other than taking the order at the till. This was in stark contrast to when we visited last year when we had a lovely chat with a lady who we presumed was the owner/manager.
Christine J — Google review
Had lunch with a large group with varying dietary needs and there was something tasty for us all. Nice and light & airy. Seating inside or outside opposite the beach so just beware of the seagulls as they've obviously heard how great the food is here too! The Pizzas are amazing as is the gluten free halloumi burger! Friendly service and for how busy it was the wait wasn't too long considering. We will be returning when next in the area!
J H — Google review
Visited on Saturday, 6th September 2025. Unfortunately, we picked this Pizzeria on the front, and as there was no room inside, we ate outside in the howling wind. A few items were not available from the menu, and what we did order was either burnt or undercooked.

Stopped off today while walking around Barmouth and im so glad we did, we sat straight away, ordered (too much for 2 people 😄) and we didn't have to wait very long at all, food was amazing and we definitely ordered too much but I would definitely be back
Nikki F — Google review
Called in here for a bit of lunch. Stood waiting to be served -for a while as the person using the till was either having issues or inexperienced, Pushed past and glared at by one particular member of the waiting on staff, moved aside to let her past on several occasions but her body language and lack of friendly smile towards customers spoilt the experience. Eventually made it to the counter and was served, but same issue again, struggling to find prices to charge customers and operate checkout, all whilst stood waiting and being made to feel I was in the wrong place and inconveniencing the staff. Eventually was served, completed sale, waited for drinks and food and left. Wouldn't rush back again, I'll go somewhere else that appreciates my business and money.

Great bar. Excellent beer. A purple moose Porter and a Tiny Rebel stout.... So good I took 2 pints of the former away with me. Good prices too. And both Welsh 👍🏽 I was doing a bit of dog sitting, while my kids went round the shops...lovely sunny day, so I mostly sat outside. Recommended.

We have visited Myrddins Tap many times. There is always a warm welcome and everyone is friendly. There is a fantastic range of beers and cider both bottled and on draught. Food is limited to "Bar Snacks", but they are delicious and the choice really complements the drinks menu. There is also a wide range of Gins available, I have only tried a few but they are excellent. If whisky is your tipple, try the Myrddins 3-year old, it's really good. Overall an outstanding place to visit

Nestled in a quaint corner of town, Myrddins Brewery & Distillery offers a delightful escape for cider aficionados seeking quality brews in a charming setting. Boasting an impressive array of flavors, this establishment stands out with its extensive selection of tasty ciders that cater to diverse palates. The brewery's intimate ambiance, albeit rather small in size, exudes warmth and a sense of community, making it an inviting spot for both locals and visitors alike. Upon entering, the rustic decor and friendly atmosphere immediately set the tone for a relaxed and enjoyable experience. One of the highlights of Myrddins is undoubtedly its diverse range of ciders, each crafted with evident care and expertise. From crisp and refreshing varieties to bold and complex flavors, there's something to please every discerning cider drinker. Whether you prefer classic apple blends or adventurous fruit-infused concoctions, Myrddins ensures a flavourful journey through their offerings. However, despite its many positives, one aspect that might detract from the overall experience is the allowance of dogs inside the premises. While some patrons appreciate the pet-friendly policy, others may find it a distraction, particularly in such close quarters. In conclusion, Myrddins Brewery & Distillery earns praise for its exceptional ciders and inviting ambiance, making it a noteworthy destination for anyone passionate about quality craft beverages. While the presence of dogs indoors might not suit everyone's preferences, it's a minor consideration compared to the overall positive impression this establishment leaves on its guests. Whether you're a cider enthusiast or simply looking to unwind with friends, Myrddins promises a memorable visit filled with flavour and charm.

Never once felt welcome here on a recent visit. Frequent visitors of Barmouth for several years & always wanted to try this establishment but never managed to in all my years visiting. We finally got to visit on our recent trip and were very excited to see what was on offer. For an establishment that sells craft & local brews I felt they’d attempt to try and sell it a little more than they did. Instead, I found there attitude unpleasant and didn’t really seem much in the way of making any conversation. I distinctively remember the lady on the bar take one look at us & tell her partner he could serve instead. She then proceeded to walk down the bar & converse with one of the locals instead. We had a drink and then left. If you’re local to the area you’re probably ok, as the reviews are all generally decent. The drinks were pleasant, the price was good but the overall vibe & was I felt unwelcome from the start means this gets a 1 from me.

Delightful little micropub...staffed only by the owners. The food is basic but we'll priced and tasty, the ales were all in good condition, a great range of gins were also on offer...only minor criticism would be the temperature of the ale was just a touch too cold....but well worth a visit if in Barmouth.

Pleased don't be put off that this restaurant is on a holiday/caravan park, it is very much 5 star. We visited here for our Basil's 2nd birthday. Right from the very first moment of arriving, he was made a fuss of and loved it. He had a lovely birthday table laid out for him. His lunch was excellent, hence the empty bowl! We took the latest booking for Sunday lunch, the only meat left was beef, the meat was tastless and tough. We weren't even able to cut the Yorkshire pudding as it was burnt. We ordered the mash potatoes which were warm and we were charged for as this was extra. We did order a pudding and my daughter had flapjack and fresh cream, I played safe and just had vanilla ice cream.

Popped in for a coffee on our last day in Barmouth and wasn’t disappointed! The coffee was delicious and my girlfriend enjoyed the matcha - would definitely recommend and will 100% return!

The BEST place in town for breakfast. Highly recommend the veggie breakfast even if you aren’t veg because the sausage, the cheese, the avocado toast…absolute heaven. We have been here about a month now and it’s the only place I still crave. Their brownies practically melt in your mouth. Very friendly service, also great place to buy local honey! I’m from America and honestly I’d travel the ocean again just for the veg breakfast. Wow!

We visited Goodies today and found the overall experience excellent. The food was superb and they served top quality coffee and hot chocolate. The staff we friendly, the cafe was immaculate and we would 100% recommend this place for a pit stop in Barmouth.

Murray's Cafe Bar is a charming spot that offers great food and a relaxed atmosphere. The cafe is known for its delicious paninis, with special attention given to accommodating those with dietary restrictions such as gluten-free and celiac choices. Visitors appreciate the separate preparation area for gluten-free options, making it a welcoming place for those with specific dietary needs. The cafe's friendly owners are praised for their accommodating nature, making it a favorite spot for many despite its somewhat limited opening hours.
I was viewing the menu here when Ted the owner asked me what I was looking for. I asked if they did bacon sandwiches, and Ted said he'd make me one. Inside, I met Hazel, and had a lovely bacon sandwich and cup of tea, whilst chatting to Ted. All whilst they prepared to open. They both made my day. Please visit this cafe these people are lovely and deserve to do well in their new venture.

I ordered a memory from my childhood, Welsh rarebit, adding bacon. The presentation for a small cafe was amazing, The food was tasty and filling. This cafe has lots of munchy cakes on show, I couldn't eat another thing so I took a couple of scones back to the van, lovely with butter in the evening. Coffee was good . The two young men serving were hyper polite and friendly. I travel all over Wales in my van this cafe goes to number ONE on my list for a good experience good value, and good food. I will definitely visit Murray's cafe next time I am in Barnmouth.

Here you will find without any doubt the most friendly people of all the places in Barmouth where you can get a good cup of coffee. The cake is delicious and the service superb. This is why you go to Barmouth 😃 So please, when you see the owners walk up the steep streets to go home, do give them a hand with the stuff they're carrying. You might get a coffee the next day 😃😊

Now called Wendy’s. Best cafe in Barmouth. Best milkshakes in the world according to my children. Delicious scones and the Hummingbird cake was amazing. Good food cooked which is becoming rarer so a lovely treat! Wonderful staff and a nice place to sit for an hour. And child friendly too. Very good value. Dairy free ans gluten free options. Only good things to say.

Very friendly atmosphere and great service, the food we ordered was quick but not too quick. Well presented and delicious. The cake after was excellent as well. A fab find and will return

Lovely little cafe, friendly staff, good range of drinks and cakes. Music playing softly in the background so you don't have to raise your voice to talk to your companions. If you are looking for somewhere a little more relaxed and friendly than the normal Costa or Star Bucks this place is definitely worth a visit.

Lovely GF lemon meringue pie for me, hubby - a cherry scone (a lovely change from the norm). All other food seen looked delicious. A bonus is the amount of GF options they had. We will definitely visit again & recommend!

Fast food restaurant
Dolphin Fish Bar is a charming spot in Barmouth, offering a delightful selection of fresh tea, coffee, and homemade cakes. It's known for its lovely fish and chips that can be enjoyed on-site or taken out. While it may not be as famous as some other eateries in the area, it offers delicious food without the long queues. The large portions of fish and chips are particularly noteworthy, with perfectly cooked cod fillets and well-sized chips.
Finally a fish n chip shop that delivers the best quality of food and service at a great price. We tried the cod n chips and haddock n chips with curry sauce on the side. Fantastic flavor and cooked to perfection. The fish is so fresh and tasty, and the chips are cooked just right, welcoming staff with a very friendly service. Great value for money, will definitely make the Dolphin a must visit for great fish n chips.

Honestly one of the best fish and chips I’ve ever eaten. The food was fresh and the batter on the fish was light and crispy. Chips were perfect. Service was good and price not too bad. Nothing to fault here.

Lovely food. Have been there with my son on bank holiday and food was served quick. Fish was slightly battered and I actually could taste a real fish not just thick batter. A bit small inside but staff nice a polite. Definitely will recommend

The food was delicious. This is one of the best chippy's you will ever find ! And the prices were amazing. I can not rate this place enough. They cooked the food fresh.
Kevin P — Google review
We went to this chippy last week, while camping nearby. The cod was fried completely fresh, and we have now decided it is the best fish and chips we have had. Just away from the seafront, and is nowhere near as busy (and more reasonably priced) as the ones on the seafront.

Antonia's internet cafe offers delightful blueberry ice cream and has no hesitation in filling up water bottles. They also provide tap water with ice on hot days, creating a pleasant atmosphere. The selection of ice cream and sorbets is excellent, comparable to another popular ice emporium starting with 'K'. The staff are friendly and polite, serving generous portions of ice cream alongside a limited range of savory snacks. Additionally, they offer a great choice of coffee and cold drinks without any queues.
Fantastic banana splits ! I reckon they kept me going all day . Thoroughly enjoyed this cafe over the weekend ! Indoor and outdoor seating very good location . Great choice of ice cream ! I particularly liked the White chocolate and the raspberry ripple ! Nice people made a lovely presentation with my meals . Thank you 😊 🍌 🍦 !

Avoid this place like the plague, awful service and rude staff members. Trying to sell a tiny plastic cup with about 4 strawberries in and a drizzle of sauce for £6.50!! Outrageous! The display cakes are according to the manager from China, as to why they couldn’t make it look anything like the display. We obviously asked for a refund and the manager and staff member both rolled their eyes and were extremely hostile. Disappointing because this could be a really lovely cafe if they hired nicer staff members.
Grace B — Google review
Disgraceful customer service! Staff member constantly swearing dropping C bombs and F bombs like there was nobody listening just a total lack of respect for customers and families who were there. Went in on Sunday 7/9/25 ordered coffee and ice creams. Coffees were served in takeaway cups even though we were sat inside. Staff members discussing their personal business and swearing aloud. Absolutely disgusting foul mouthed women should think about a job that doesn’t face customers. Won’t be back there again. Avoid this place if you have any level of decency because the staff don’t!
Paul N — Google review
Terrible service!! The "barista" lady doesn't understand her own language! She tried to serve me a shake in a cone! I had to repeat my order a few times before she understood the order, and afterwards, she went outside, passing me to serve the order outside. Rolling her eyes on the clients. What an attitude?!! She shouldn't work there because she's just ruining the atmosphere and vibe of the place.
Anita A — Google review
We visit here regularly, but I finally feel the need to share our experience. The customer service is consistently poor. The woman with blue hair in particular speaks to customers with no respect, and I honestly don’t understand how this is acceptable. On the positive side, the ice creams are great, and the coffee is fine, though nothing special. Unfortunately, the lack of decent customer service outweighs this, and we’ll be taking our custom elsewhere from now on.
Julian H — Google review
Very dog friendly, brilliant coffee, great food menu, sweet cakes and excellent icecream selection. We had searched for an icecream placed that serves pistachio flavoured ice cream as it is my father's favourite, and we found this place. It is friendly, with a comfortable atmosphere, lovely staff and a brilliant place. Definitely worth a visit.
Chloe M — Google review
Terrible food and customer service. I ordered a jacket potato with prawns which was the smallest jacket potato I’ve ever seen with a hard overcooked skin and dry/ tasteless prawns. Absolutely rip off for £9. Not a good first experience of a prominent eatery! Sort your staff out.
Michaela D — Google review
Very hostile towards people of colour and rude staff, cross contamination, horrible environment, no hygiene. A group of us when to buy refreshments and ice cream and we were treated like dirt by the two workers who were very hostile. They mocked a woman who said one minute please and turned it into asking for a mint cone, when we said we didnt order it, they squashed the ice cream back into the new batch which is very unhygienic and horrible cross contamination. The worker attempted to argue with us whilst we spoke amongst ourselves about where our hot chocolate was. They didnt make it and after reminding them, they were rude and rolled their eyes and proceeded to rush the order. It was very odd as we were nothing but courteous towards the staff. Won't be visiting ever again.

I highly recommend visiting Promenade Cafe & Wine Bar And Restaurant. The cafe offers delicious sandwiches made with high-quality ingredients, and their lemon drizzle scone is exceptional. Unlike other places that serve overpriced fancy food, this cafe provides well-cooked dishes at reasonable prices. I had a steak while my wife enjoyed a pie, and both meals were absolutely delightful. Despite its unassuming exterior, the interior of the cafe is clean, warm, and extremely friendly.
Brilliant. A great reception from the staff, the manager is a funny guy. Food is spot on and a welcome change to standard styles (I believe owners are Turkish). Small amount of free parking and they let us stay whilst at the beach. Clean. Well cooked food. Definitely will come again and recommend.
Paul — Google review
I'd highly recommend coming here, the place is run by a hard working man staffing the counter and kitchen, he's quick to the point as he's busy but is a charm to be around. The food is lovely and the Café charming and welcoming. So much so that we were half way through the chips before taking a photo! The toilet is by the front entrance, so is easy to walk past without noticing. The Café also has free parking in the rear for customers, a beverage fridge, an ice cream fridge and small assortment of necessities like body wash. As well as having seafront views, including the hills in the distance.
Jack F — Google review
One of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. The customer service was terrible, and the owner, who is Turkish, was unfortunately very rude. I ordered a double espresso, which he charged me for upfront, but failed to mention that he didn’t have a proper espresso machine. Instead, he used an automatic machine that couldn’t make espresso and served me a weak Americano, claiming it was a double espresso. It was absolutely not what I ordered, yet he still charged £5 for it. The food was just as disappointing. The fish, which the owner claimed was fresh, appeared to be frozen and was simply dropped in a fryer — it came out soggy, oily, and unpleasant. The overall food quality was very poor. The waiter complained that he hated bank holidays because it gets too busy, and that showed — the service was inattentive and rushed. I had to repeatedly ask for basic things like cutlery, salt, and pepper. When I raised these concerns, the owner dismissed me and even called me a “trouble boy.” It honestly felt like they were aiming for a one-star review. Avoid this place — it deserves nothing more than 1 star.
Daniel G — Google review
Terrible experience – avoid this place at all costs! We came here today and ordered fish and chips, but what we got was absolutely awful. The fish was clearly frozen, the chips were frozen too – not even a pinch of salt. Just thrown on the plate with no care whatsoever. For coffee, I was handed a cup and told to make it myself by pressing a button on a coffee machine in the back – completely unprofessional. The place was dirty, especially the toilets – absolutely disgusting. The man at the counter was extremely rude and unprofessional. After a customer in front of me left, he made a nasty comment saying that the person “always causes problems” – loudly, in front of everyone. We tried to make polite conversation and asked where he was from, and he sarcastically replied, “from the moon.” He kept complaining about how busy it was and how much he hates bank holidays – clearly not someone who should work in customer service. When we told him the fish was bad, he offered to refund just £2.50 – a complete insult. This place is a joke. Avoid this place – dirty, rude staff, terrible food, and zero professionalism.

We came here whilst camping twice and both times the food and service were perfect. The owner is very lovely, kind and funny and always makes sure everything is okay for everyone. The food itself was prepared quickly and tasted delicious. We had the breakfast and it was really delicious. The atmosphere is so welcoming and kept very clean with lovely music too. I highly recommend coming here as it was a lovely experience and again the owner is such a lovely man with a lovely business. Will miss this place when we go home.
Rebecka M — Google review
Brilliant service, anyone complaining simply cannot get behind the owners humour. Very fair prices and delicious breakfasts and hard working family.
Murloc — Google review
Came by this place unexpectedly, out of full season. What an absolute hidden gem , owner is Turkish so we decided why not try the mezze and wow we were not disappointed at all. Plus the smiley faces on our plates really made the finishing touches. Relaxed atmosphere we will defo be coming back here next time we are in Bournemouth. Plus was nice to have a lovely cold beer with our evening meal.

Quirky little place, a little dated, but perfect for that nostalgic traditional British seaside holiday feel. The owner was very friendly and attentive, and he was able to provide a vegan cooked breakfast. Some interesting outdoor decor, that made us smile.

The Lunchbox cafe is remarkable with its outstanding cuisine and superb service. They even accommodated an early arrival and provided a heater without being prompted, demonstrating their exceptional hospitality. Additionally, they warmly greeted a wet dog with a treat. Vegan options are available at this delightful establishment, which was a pleasant surprise for customers. The staff, particularly Lauren, were incredibly friendly and the prices were reasonable for all to enjoy.
Staying in Barmouth for couple of days and wanted some decent breakfast so found this gem . I ordered a roaster red pepper soup and seafood basket. Which was incredible, the staff are wonderful and very engaging. Although I didn’t get a chance to take the photo of the soup as I ate it within minutes.

Popped in late afternoon and couldn't find Rarebit on the menu. It was late but the lovely young lady serving said that they had stopped it (they were looking to close). However, whilst we reconsidered what to order (and without prompting) she came back to our table and said that Rarebit could be served and three were rustled up, plus a lamb bap. Absolutely delicious food and delightful, charming service. Highly recommended!

Hidden gem. The ladies that work there are welcoming and warm. It’s nice to find places that still live by the “service with a smile” motto. The food was tasty and is very reasonably priced in today’s economy and you can build your own breakfast at £1 an item. Thank you!

Just had a lovely lunch at The Lunchbox - all meals under £10! I had a delicious vegetarian tikka with rice, my hubbie had all day vegetarian breakfast and our grandson had beans on toast - all were generous portions. Friendly staff and good food means we'll be going back!

During my recent visit to Barmouth, I had the pleasure of dining at Carousal Cafe, a charming spot that offers freshly cooked meals. The atmosphere is simple yet inviting, making it a great place for families and friends alike. I indulged in their mini fish and sausage special, which was delightful, while others raved about the perfectly cooked chips—crispy on the outside and fluffy inside.
We have just been to Carousal cafe, we have never been to Barmouth before. I asked if dogs were allowed in and they was. Everything cooked fresh. We had mini fish sausage special. 6 nuggets and chips and savaloy. My lad said best nuggets and chips he's tasted. Very helpful and pleasant staff. Keep it up guys 👏

While visiting Barmouth, we stopped by Carousel Café for a quick bite. The wrap prepared for us was very good, and the chicken in it had an amazing flavor. The portions are quite large. Highly recommended!

Nice large shop food was cooked fresh as not that busy. Waiting 15 minutes. They use palm oil I had scampi & chips tasted very nice £7.50 they don’t do Tartar Sauce though. And I asked if they did fish bites said no. But could have said they do a mini fish 🥴 as an option sales staff needs training on serving the customers needs. Would I go ho back if in the area again possibly

Popped round here on a camping trip with the lads for some fish n chips. Food was pretty lovely, chips were done perfectly and the fish was great as well, although a bit soggy. Not much to say for the atmosphere, was a pretty simple place. Would still reccomend 👍

I ate here several times during my holidays August 2025. I recommend this place. Large size meals and freshly cooked fish and chips to order. Good quantity and quality. You can eat sitting down. They have capacity for lots of diners. I was very happy here and returned several more times. Nice and friendly staff. I would be happy to return and eat there again.

The burger from this cafe was awful the bun was burnt and had nothing in it but a cold patty! good portion of chips for the price. Teenage Workers messing around and look bored to death and we’re play fighting. I ordered a slushy and the worker couldn’t tell me a single flavour of any slushy and didn’t even give me a lid or straw. The cafe was empty only one table full wander why? The teenage workers were left by themselves messing around whilst the adult workers sat on the sofa with drinks in there hand not noticing what is happening around them!
