Cafe

Coffee shop
The Workshop Coffee is a popular spot in Saigon known for its espresso, cold brews, and pour overs. Despite its name, it's not a place to make your own coffee but rather a co-working space and artisanal coffee shop. What sets it apart is the attention to detail in their coffee, offering various brewing methods and carefully curated beans with detailed information on the menu. The spacious top-floor location with plenty of natural light attracts both regulars and travelers.
This is a lovely little cafe where we can take a break from our walking tour! It's tucked away in a building, giving it a cozy feel. The coffee here is delicious and has a nice strong flavor. It's a popular spot for people working or studying, but it's a bit too quiet, almost like a library.
Chlotus — Google review
☕ The Workshop has a cool industrial-style interior with spacious seating and plenty of natural light. The bar is lined with coffee equipment, creating a professional vibe — a great spot for coffee lovers. This is my third visit, and the food and drinks are still up to standard: • Pour-over coffee: aromatic, smooth, and beautifully presented. • Omelette with toast & salad: fluffy, tasty, and just the right portion. • Croissant: crisp, buttery, and perfect with jam and butter. The only downside is that the staff don’t seem very welcoming — a warmer smile and friendliness would make the experience even better. Overall, still a great place to enjoy coffee, breakfast, or brunch. 🌟
Ann N — Google review
A beautiful loft-style space with true European vibes — spacious, high ceilings, great light. As someone who loves lofts, I felt right at home. Built a couple of documents here and genuinely enjoyed the atmosphere. Excellent espresso, and big thanks to the team for creating such a well-designed environment for focus and creativity.🫶
Dallas D — Google review
Definitely the place where to have nice food and where to work at a laptop. They're built for that, there are plugs everywhere and the wifi is strong. The staff will not bother you, but it's good habit to order something every hour at least, and tip the staff appropriately. The food is good, big, and vote expensive. Good quality place.
Giovanni — Google review
Workshop Coffee in Ho Chi Minh City is one of those places that stands out for its cool, industrial-chic vibe. It’s always lively and full of energy, popular with Chinese tourists and expats alike. Their coffee is excellent, and although the food menu is quite limited, everything I’ve tried has been tasty. The only downsides for me are that the entrance is a bit hidden—you have to go up a flight of stairs to find it—and it can get really crowded and noisy during busy hours. Also, I personally find the chairs quite uncomfortable, which makes it hard to sit for long.
Leonard L — Google review
One of the most recommended specialty coffee shop in Ho Chi Minh called @theworkshopcoffee, established since 2014 and located in the bustling Bến Nghé area. Located on the second floor of an old 1912 building, the classic vintage ambience feels very strong because many architectural elements are very well maintained. High ceilings with many window openings from various directions create good natural lighting, causing a warm, comfy and welcoming space. Various coffee menus are served here and the ones I recommend most are classic coffee and manual brew with various of the best coffee beans from various origins.
Polevy E — Google review
It's a quite hidden kind of cafe if you don't really notice the signboard. It's kinda cute though. The variety of coffee served here are really special and are so good. Tried their nutty cremina and salted iced coffee, and I can say the salted iced coffee is a must try! Panna cotta gives off a very balanced taste and it's really good.
Chuin ( — Google review
Very mid if not tasteless coffee (latte) and non-coffee (oolong cold brew) drinks 😰 The ambience was amazing which is why the ratings got 3* and why we even came back. Metal chairs with limited support for your back so it will get uncomfy for long sitting and somehow the tables are super low??? (I’m not even that tall…) Staffs were unwelcoming and borderline rude to Vietnamese customers, when we came in it was crowded and they told us to sit at the large shared table despite having a vacant window-side table. They put the reserve sign on it, but when we about to leave a female staff came and said we could sit there (?). I paid 200k for 2 mid drinks and 1 cookie yet they were annoyed when we ask for our free parking tickets 🥀??? Much better support and hospitality for other Non-Viet customers Guess this is one of those places that only welcomes foreigners like the ones in Thao Dien =)))

Cafe
Bosgaurus Coffee Roasters is a well-respected name in Vietnam's coffee industry, known for its unwavering commitment to quality. Since the rise of specialty coffee in Vietnam, they have been dedicated to delivering exceptional coffee from sourcing and roasting to brewing. The company aims to promote the cultural significance of specialty coffee through creative and delicious means, often hosting educational events like talk shows and workshops.
Very modern cafe, great place to get some work done. The cinnamon roll was one of the best I’ve had. The breakfast was also pretty good, would eat it again, and recommend. The coffee is very strong, both my partner and I said the same. If you’re into that, then great. For me, I just had to wait for the ice to water it down a bit more… The coffee is slightly on the pricier side, but the location, vibe, modern chic, and quality make up for it. I’ll be back, and if I was a local then I’d definitely be a regular.
Curtis B — Google review
I arrived at around 7pm and had an espresso right at the bar. Sensational! Wouldn't expect it to be this delicious. Always have a tender spot for coffee shops that still serves good espresso after dusk. The barista Gia Han told me that what I had is their signature blend of Big Smoke and BSWB - both Vietnamese bean with distinctive characteristics thus perfectly combine for a complex, delicate cup. And she made real what she said, delivered such essence of what a true espresso should be. Were it not too late would I go on for the second, third, or maybe fourth espresso... Gonna come back again, surely.

Lovely café with great potential! They have a wonderful selection of drinks, and the setting by the water is absolutely charming. It’s the perfect spot to work in peace calm atmosphere, not too much music. The staff are very attentive and friendly. I fell in love with their salted coffee and the salted caramel latte both are a must-try! If I could make one small suggestion, the place could use a little refresh to make it truly perfect.

It’s a lovely spot to enjoy a great coffee and unwind on a Sunday morning. Loved the cinnamon roll, just wish it were a little less sweet. The location is perfect, surrounded by greenery and peaceful park 💛
Trang M — Google review
Le coffee shop magnifique! It's actually hard to find a good Americano these days. Coffee shops are growing more and more into the absurdity of colorful non-sense drinks they almost forget how to extract the substantial of precious beans given to us by Nature. How rare now is a café really pulling an espresso with love and respect! But how lucky am I to find one! The feminine barista, Han, gave me an Americano that I would never forget. Even diluted with ice and water it's still so flavorful and subtly sweet! I like the space and ambience here as well. Minimalized to the point that's perfect to take a mindful dive into the coffee. Parfaitement!

Amazing coffee shop by the river. Great views, outdoor and indoor seating with AC. Specialty coffee and tasty food menu. Have been coming back because it's Soo good and love the ambiance. The waiters are nice as well!
Willie W — Google review
As someone who enjoys spending my free time at coffee shops, I’m always on the lookout for places that match my taste. However, the one place I keep returning to, and the one I choose when I need some time for myself, is Bosgaurus Coffee Roasters. It meets all my requirements for a place to "escape", relax, and find new ideas. The ambiance is calm and airy, surrounded by greenery, with a minimalist yet modern design. The staff are friendly and helpful, making the experience even better. And above all, the coffee flavor is truly exceptional. Oh, and if you're a matcha lover, this is definitely a place I’d recommend too.
Thuy P — Google review
Excellent coffee. Delicious macchiato. It's satisfying to truly adore the art of macchiato again, after such long time in this crazy city where such art is almost lost. A well-pulled shot of espresso, smooth milk foam on top, not too much, just enough to add to the espresso's texture a bit creaminess. Give it a stir and sip. Adore the perfect blend of foam and coffee. Simple art at its finest! Love the charisma of the barista here, breathe a life into the coffee!

Cafe
Saigon Coffee Roastery 2, with its Dong Khoi and Dang Thi Nhu Street locations, has been serving exceptional coffee for about three years. The baristas, especially at the newer spot, are highly skilled and passionate about sharing their extensive knowledge of coffee. Founded by barista Phap Vo, this renowned establishment prioritizes both its staff and the use of top-quality equipment.
We spent three weeks in Ho Chi Minh City and had the pleasure of visiting Saigon Coffee Roastery – we absolutely loved it! The specialty coffee, atmosphere, and service were all excellent. We enjoyed it so much that we decided to visit several times to savor the great coffee and pick up Kenya and Sumatra beans to enjoy at the house where we were staying for pet sitting. We highly recommend this coffee shop, especially if you're as passionate about specialty coffee as we are. We’re very grateful for the service and for the staff, who always kindly answered our questions about acidity and coffee varieties, making our experience truly wonderful.
Capitu A — Google review
Really enjoyed my time at this cafe! The atmosphere is really nice—it's cozy and has just the right vibe for either relaxing or getting some work done. I especially appreciated how quiet it was, which made it easy to focus without distractions. It's definitely a great spot if you need to catch up on emails or just want a peaceful break. The staff were friendly and service was prompt, which always makes a big difference. My only small gripe is that the menu is a bit limited, so if you're looking for a wide variety of options you might be a little disappointed. Still, what they do offer is tasty and well-prepared. Overall, I'd definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a chill place to enjoy a coffee and get some work done!
Dewi A — Google review
Very nice ambience, friendly and professional service, and of course great coffee. I was supported in selecting a coffee to brew at home and did not regret my selection. Had some exquisite V60 from a very special roast. Thank you for the experience.
Gergely T — Google review
I visited this shop for the first time recently with some colleagues, eager to try their Vietnamese milk coffee. Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed with the taste. As a fan of traditional Vietnamese coffee, I found that it didn't quite hit the mark for me. The flavor wasn't as rich or robust as I'd hoped, and it lacked that distinctive, strong character you get from coffee made with a phin. It felt like something was missing from the authentic experience.
Xuan M — Google review
A not too flashy coffee & brunch joint disguised as a coffee experience establishment where nothing much to experience that hasn't been offered by those places that came before and still exist, with a far better price tag.
CD L — Google review
One of kind specialty coffee shop in Saigon. Their banana yoghurt smoothies taste good and refreshing. Coconut Machiatto Fredo coffee strong for me, and there is foam coconut flavor on top. Big breakfast just ok. Recommended to try if you love coffee!
Hendrik F — Google review
Always pleasing to find a real coffee shop serving a great range of really specialist worldwide coffee. With a spacious and bright inside seating area, with a great large garden, with plenty of shaded places to meet friends or relax with a book, this will be a regular place to hangout, whilst stocking up on very special coffee beans. The menu, has an extensive list of specialist coffees as well the regular fare. They also serve meals and the staff are very attentive. Its tucked away in district 3, but real coffee enthusiasts will make the effort to find it. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED .
Paul F — Google review
Thank you so much for the perfect morning in your lovely front yard with the excellent coffee, tasty breakfast, perfect music selection, and scented flowers on the tree. What a sweet spot for an authentic Vietnamese experience. Appreciative of everything here, including the friendly staff. The soft music is so right for the experience (many cafes get it wrong but your selection is tasteful and apt). My moments were let down only by a customer who entered and started smoking. If only the cafe has a no smoking policy even in the garden, but in Vietnam, it might be too much to expect.

Nestled in various locations throughout the city, The Coffee House has become a beloved spot for locals and visitors alike. This charming café is perfect for those looking to unwind while enjoying a delicious cup of Vietnamese iced coffee, known as ca phe sua da, or a comforting hot latte. With its inviting atmosphere, many have found inspiration here—drafting blog posts and catching up on work amidst the buzz of young professionals and students.
Just discovered The Coffee House that has traditional Vietnamese coffee. Very nice. Compared to Highlands, the Coffee House is more local and filled with young professionals and students sitting with their laptops. At Highland Coffee, there seems to be more tourists and business dealers. Their tiramisu is awesome. Not too sweet, just right.
L. T — Google review
Shocking cup of coffee, we ordered a large and not only was the cup COMPLETELY FILLED WITH ICE, the amount of coffee inside the cup is absolutely disgraceful. I tried to talk to the stores employee and they couldn’t understand a word I was saying and kept saying this is how it is done. Will not be back, completely shocking coffee stores and such what a scam
Jerry C — Google review
I ordered a meat pasta but I was on a treasure hunt for the meat - at best 15g of it and rest mushrooms. I ordered coffee but got ice with undrinkable coffee in between. No go.
Mohammed A — Google review
Great menu, staff is excellent here. I do wish The Coffee House carried vegan nut milks and decaffeinated coffee but even with those behind the times limitations I still give this place a 5. Indoor parking around the side of the building in the alley. Multiple floors as the ground floor only has room for a single table. They have an outdoor smokers area upstairs that is separated from the non-smoking area by double glass doors.
Mal M — Google review
Rude rude rude… when helping foreigners you need to be polite… even if they are Vietnamese… we are the ones with spending the money. tables are messy and you know what if I wasn’t waiting for my hotel room at 1 pm I would never ever stay and drink here.
M T — Google review
Overloaded with people and they set tables quite close, that makes the place uncomfortable. Even there are a lot of people but they are studying or working so it’s not too noisy. But the light is not bright enough because of the low ceiling and how they set up the seatings that make the place not really good to work!

It is so good plaace, coz drinking water for free here. There is second floor that you can choose where you want to sit^^ good location then you can make an appointment easily with other friends

XLIII Specialty Coffee is a Vietnamese roastery with locations in Da Nang and Hoi An, offering a unique and quiet atmosphere amidst the bustling city of Saigon. The cafe boasts a striking all-black minimal interior and friendly, knowledgeable baristas. Visitors can expect an inviting atmosphere and passionate staff. The highlight of the experience is the wide range of specialty coffee sourced from around the world, catering to every coffee lover's palate. Additionally, they offer impressive pastries to complement their exceptional coffee selection.
I can't say enough about my experience at XLIII Coffee. Beyond the fantastic coffee, the service from Kathy was truly exceptional and elevated the entire visit. From the moment I walked in, Kathy was incredibly welcoming and attentive. She was patient and knowledgeable, answering all my questions about the different beans and brewing methods. Her passion for coffee was contagious, and she took the time to make sure I got exactly what I was looking for. She even gave me a great recommendation that I wouldn't have tried otherwise. The coffee itself was, as always, a standout. The quality and craftsmanship are apparent in every sip, but it was Kathy's warmth and genuine enthusiasm that made the experience memorable. She made me feel like a valued guest, not just another customer. XLIII Coffee is a must-visit for any coffee lover, and if you're lucky enough to be served by Kathy, you're in for a real treat. She's the kind of person who makes a great cup of coffee even better.

We had a great experience! It was super interesting to try different coffees next to each other and truly experience the different flavor profiles. Khoi did an amazing job explaining all the different origins, roasting processes and tones. He also recommended which coffee to get for each brewing method. All in all we had a great experience and I would definitely come back! Thank you Khoi!

What a great find in the heart of Saigon! I was however confused at first tho lol; then became impressed, and left feeling pleased. Really appreciated the aesthetic design of the cafe and the friendly staff's attentiveness. Did I mention the high-quality coffee? Overall, very-good-stuff. Thanks for a nice experience!

love the aesthetic of the place. clean, minimal and cool. very nice place for coffee lovers and for those who want to get more out of just a regular latte. the baristas know what they are doing and can see their passion into coffee making.. friendly staff members too! we went for a drip coffee and their sourdough banana, which paired really nicely!

Vinh was our barista and we had such a lovely time. He was super knowledgeable and made our experience so enjoyable. I’m not a huge fan of pour over but the beans we tried were very fragrant and I enjoyed sipping on it. In the end, he also had a cascara tea for us to enjoy as a gift. That was probably my favorite. 😋
Khin A — Google review
If you like specialty coffee. You should not miss this place. I try 2 cups on the same days and the experience is unique. Don't intimidated if you walk in and saw no one. It will start from the first floor next to the trails of moss you see on the ground floor.
Bunrong S — Google review
I visited this coffee shop yesterday, and it was fantastic! The staff were friendly, professional, and really knowledgeable about their coffee. They specialize in light roast, which perfectly matched my taste. The decor, with green grassy areas and a black, white color scheme, creates a unique atmosphere. Though the prices are a bit higher than usual in Vietnam, the quality and professionalism make it a great experience for any coffee lover.
Yi W — Google review
We love our local coffee roasters in Canada, but the experience here is truly unique, choose from a variety of amazing single origin direct trade coffees, all expertly labelled with QR codes with more information, including a map showing exactly wheee the farm is. Dai, our barista, was very knowledgeable and we loved the personalized service of having the pourover right in front of us, with a review of every step, grind size, temperature, and ratio. Well worth it for any coffee lover!

This might be the must-visit coffee shop in Saigon. They only serve high quality Vietnamese beans. Barista were friendly and highly knowledgeable. Coffee was brewed to perfection. Be sure to buy back some beans for your home cafe. They also offer workshop lessons for the coffee nerds. Would recommend!

Highly recommend the various coffee workshops that 96b offer! My personal favourite was the coffee roasting workshop where we went through the roasting process. The cafe itself is clean and has a large variety of beans to choose from, great equipment and expert baristas!

96B is a special place where you can find high quality coffees including Liberica coffee beans where you can’t find easily outside of SEA. (My personal favorite is Honeyed Liberica. I bought 3 bags to share with my friends in Korea and the US last time I visited HCMC) 96B also runs a range of coffee workshops for beginners who want to learn without going too deep into the field. I took eight of them while I stayed in HCMC, and the amount of insight and knowledge you gain makes every session well worth the cost. The hospitality is excellent—everyone on the staff is kind, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what they do. Huge thanks to the 96B team for the amazing coffee and unforgettable experience. 🙏🏼

Such a lovely coffee roastery tucked away in a quiet corner. The space feels calm and thoughtfully designed — minimalistic with just enough greenery to make you instantly relax. I tried the espresso and long black, and both were excellent — smooth, rich, and full of flavour. I couldn’t resist the cinnamon roll either, and it turned out to be the perfect match for my coffee — sweet, buttery, and perfectly flaky. They also host workshops on hand brewing, latte art, and roasting, which really shows how passionate they are about what they do. You can also pick up freshly roasted coffee beans, drip bags, or cold brew packs to take home. It’s the kind of place that makes you slow down and enjoy the moment. I’ll definitely be coming back.

Variety of mixed drinks, espresso based drinks, and specialty beans on the menu. Unique and industrial look is very photogenic! Got the iced latte with oat milk and matcha tiramisu which were delicious. The pastries were pretty average

Visited them this September. They served very nice drip coffee and other beverages as well also. Owner was very friendly and very knowledgeable about coffee. The place was cozy and chill also. Must give it a try if you guys visit Ho Chi Minh.

My husband and I took a “Vietnamese coffee” class which included making three types of coffee: Vietnamese, egg, and coconut coffee. Not only did we learn a lot about Vietnamese coffee beans, Liberica beans, and overall Vietnamese coffee culture, but we had a high-quality time spent with knowledge and couldn’t leave without loading up on good beans. Needless to say, it was a wonderful coffee-making experience, definitely worth visiting and bringing your coffee knowledge to an upper level.

Every Half Võ Thị Sáu is a cafe that was born out of a deep love for coffee. The founder believes that every half coffee bean has its soulmate, and he puts his passion into creating unique drinks by carefully selecting high-quality green coffee beans from around the world and roasting them to perfection. Located in the grounds of a hotel, this cafe offers a delightful setting with chill vibes and a nice atmosphere.
Vietnam Coffee Sua Da is great! Cold brew is good too. Big tables and many seats for leisure and work. Next to M Village hotel, convenient! 15% discount for hotel guests.

I used to love this coffee shop — the first branch of EH. But after a long time, and following their rapid expansion, I came back to try it again and was a bit disappointed. I chose the Pink Bourbon pour-over, but it wasn’t good. It had a very bitter and harsh aftertaste, which made me question the barista’s skill. I really hope they take time to reflect and gradually improve their skills and coffee quality — not just focus on expanding branches at such a fast pace.

A very creamy, strong coffee yet subtle to my taste that I ever had, nice caramel-ish coffee without overburning smell sensation! Perfection! One of the best butter croissant 🥐 too. The ambiance is also spot on, homy and welcoming, but hit all the stylish parts too! This cafe is part of the M Village establishment, so the residents would have an additional comfort every morning! Lastly, very very warm and friendly staff manning behind the counter! Fabulous place to start your day 😊 💕

The very first store of @everyhalf.coffeeroasters which tucked away in an alleyway around Võ Thị Sáu area. This coffee shop carries a natural concept with shady tropical vegetation in all areas, making the ambience feel very cool and comfy. A really great choice to relax and enjoy a delicious morning coffee in Ho Chi aminh.

I found this cafe on the recommendation of a Vietnamese friend. It's a trendy cafe where I could get a taste of the local coffee scene. I stopped by to buy local Vietnamese coffee beans, and the prices were reasonable, and the staff's friendly explanations helped me choose a very satisfying selection. I'm so satisfied with this place that I'd love to visit again in Ho Chi Minh City.

Their hojicha latte and hot tiramisu latte were really delicious. We also tried their croissant and it was a nice size and really flaky and flavorful. Went here on our last day in Saigon, so I wish we had spent more time here since the location was so peaceful and their store is so cute and quaint.

Nice and lovely coffee shop. But quite different from the other Every Half places. The real downside here is the super small area with air con. If you don't mind sitting outside or in area with fan only then no big deal, this is a gorgeous place. If you prefere large seating area with air con, then the E H coffeeshop in Tu Xuong street is the better choice.
Eric L — Google review
Great cafe in the quieter corners of the Vo Thi Sau neighbourhood of Ho Chi Minh City, exuding an oasis-like environment, seemingly far away from the bustle of the city, what with its casual, open-air layout, with a fair array of seating variations, tucked neatly amongst trees and various greenery. The servings are refreshing and certainly up to Every Half par, and the service is cordial and efficient. Breezy, clear-skied late afternoons here hit different; certainly not one to overlook for those staying in the connecting M Hotel.

Barista Collective stands out from other cafes in its focus on curating roasted specialty coffee from top-notch roasters instead of roasting green beans. The cafe prioritizes creating inviting spaces, providing excellent service, and serving quality drinks. Despite this emphasis, the cafe still delivers exceptional cups of coffee. Situated in district three on a serene street, Barista Collective is known for its superb Vietnamese and espresso-based beverages, making it a popular choice among expats and young professionals seeking reliable Wi-Fi.
the cafe was super interesting! it had a really cute cat that just sleeps on the chair alllll day! it had a really aesthetically pleasing toilet with really interesting items as door handles. the floss croissant was really interesting as well! unfortunately the only bad thing was that they only uses cash or QR payment which can be inconvenient.

I come Hcmc often and have visited many cafes but this Egg coffee Brûlée recommendation by tiktoker Ms Yummyface is superb! After a 15 min wait, I tasted one of the best egg coffee in Vietnam. 90k vnd for this drink is absolutely worth it! It’s rich in taste; coffee strong. The egg brûlée mixture is milky, a little salted and just very intense aroma. I love it and have been following ms yummyface food trail in HCMC.

Là Việt Coffee Saigon (57A Tú Xương) is a must-visit for an authentic Vietnamese coffee experience. With its roots in Da Lat, they grow and roast their own beans, offering a range of roast profiles. The café's light and inviting atmosphere has made it a popular spot in Saigon for remote work or snapping photos on the patio.
Great coffee as usual. Pay attention to their small "hand brew" section for "phin" and V60/Kalita options. I find them much better than regular coffee. Helpful staff and great atmosphere.

I stopped by this place to grab coffee beans for a friend. I was pleasantly surprised by the drinks, definitely tasty. The space leans on the smaller side with multiple seating options for solo patrons and groups. Overall, a solid place for coffee enthusiasts and a great cafe for hanging out. I would not recommend those who want to study/work to hang around this location.

là việt coffee is that spot that just gets it right THE COFFEE THAT HITS their cà phê sữa dừa is an absolute serve and i can see why it's one of their best sellers. the coconut coffee combo is straight fire and actually lives up to the hype. THE WORKSPACE VIBES with two floors of seating and no music playing, this place is lowkey perfect for getting work done or just posting up with a good book. the quiet atmosphere is a whole mood. THE CHILL ZONE the minimalist decor and natural light create such a peaceful sanctuary away from the saigon chaos. it's the kind of spot where you can actually focus or have a proper conversation. I got their coffee beans last year in Dalat, and I'm so happy to get Laviet in HCM too. it's the best coconut coffee in Vietnam!!! the service was really great, very fluently speak english with smooth accent. vibes was very very quite and calm. the price is below other franchise coffee brands. very very recommended! the location is a bit inward. it's totally recommend, also the cascara tea is our personal favorite.

It's not stylish or retro, it's just dirty, unkempt and disgusting. How is that possible that coffee shop is in that condition? The coffee and service is good, however this place is very unpleasant to sit in. Not going to post toilet photos, but just imagine that it looks like a public toilet on a gasoline station. Hope that this place will be renovated as soon as possible.

A Cafe Apartment institution, Thinker & Dreamer Coffee is a rather hip Cafe with a strong signature coffee (choose between milk based Thinker or soy milk based Dreamer), white decor, Instagram friendly lighting (& free wifi) and hipster crowd. It would have gotten 5 stars, if not for the EXTREMELY strong floral scent from the, ahem, bathroom that has permeated the whole Cafe. Finding the entrance to Apartment Cafe is almost a leap of faith of religious proportions. Facing the bookshop, it's directly on the left, and the entrance looks like a derelict left over from the early 80s. There is a fee to use the elevators, so just use the stairs. The outside and corridors of the place leaves a lot to imagination, but once inside the Cafes, it's a total new hidden world.

Cafe
Nestled in the iconic Hidden Gem building at 14 Ton That Dam, Mockingbird Cafe offers a rustic charm and warm ambience. The cafe's vintage vibe and inviting atmosphere make it a perfect spot for relaxation and socializing. Despite being located on the fourth floor of an old building, the journey is rewarded with unique wheat paste art adorning the walls.
Mockingbird Café is one of those hidden cafes you stumble across and instantly feel at ease. Located on an upper floor of a weathered apartment block along Tôn Thất Đạm Street, it offers a peaceful retreat from the city’s buzz — just a short walk from the riverfront. The entryway is unassuming, but once inside, the calm atmosphere and vintage-style decor win you over. The space is cozy and well thought out, with multiple rooms and a balcony that catches a nice breeze. It’s an ideal spot to unwind solo with a coffee or share a conversation with friends. The café offers a great selection of drinks including coconut coffee and iced Meiji-style beverages, plus fresh pastries like croissants and pain au chocolat that pair perfectly with your order. There’s a creative vibe throughout, including a shelf lined with plaster figures guests can paint — a charming, unexpected activity. You’ll also spot some fun board games, cute origami art, and nostalgic posters that add to its quirky yet relaxing personality. Whether you’re looking for a calm corner to read, sip a drink, or just escape the heat, Mockingbird is a spot worth visiting and taking a well earned break.

Staff is nice, the drinks were okay. Nothing to write home about. Location is A bit too small. If full, I would have been upset going up 4 flights of stairs for this lol luckily there was just enough space on a shared table with strangers. The tiramisu was a bit too sweet and the cream tasted more like cake frosting. I was expecting a bit more coffee flavor.
Andrew D — Google review
The cafe is located on the 4th floor of an old building in HCMC. It was quite tricky for me to find it. I skipped the first staircases where I should take and went inside where there was no way up. I called the cafe to ask for directions. The whole place was very artistic although the area was dark. Many people were there to take photos. The cafe was quite small and when I was there, most tables were available so I sat on a shared table. I think it would be better to book a table in advance. The staff was friendly. I paid for my drink using QR code to transfer money from my bank account. The drink looked nice and tasted really fresh and good. The cafe was artistic as well. There was a balcony area with the view straight to the state bank which was a huge cold building. People all wanted to take photos there so they took turns to get outside. I wait for around 30 mins for a group to finish their photo shoot.

Easily one of my favorite cafés while I was in Saigon. Just getting to this spot is half the fun of the experience. You'll have to go up a few floors of stairs to find this place, but when you walk in, it's such a vibe. The layout, the natural lighting, the aesthetic decor, the view and the staff too — all amazing. Overall, 100% a very strong recommend if you're in the city.

Beautiful café hidden in this building complex. White coffee and coconut coffee tasted great (and this comes from no coffee lover!). The toast wasn't as great as I hoped it would be. Overall a little bit overpriced. However, the rusty hipster atmosphere got me. They have desk games and vinyls here. And what more, one of the vinyls was from our country's composer Antonín Dvořák! That's add one star. ⭐

A fantastic coffee shop snugly tucked away on an upper floor of an otherwise unassuming building facefront towards the everbustling roar of Le Loi's streets in the busy heart of Ho Chi Minh City. I find quiet mornings here, with pour-over coffee from Okkio's vibrant selection of beans, to be a rocksolid way to start any day. The space itself accentuates this feeling, what with its rustic, quaint aesthetics, housing seats cosily yet aplenty, whilst a playlist of classics constantly accompanies one's time here. The staff are easygoing yet without losing a professional touch, whom are an easy chat and perfectly amiable. Exactly what I'd want from a coffee spot of its size and nature, hence the deserved fives on all fronts. Chanced upon the opportunity, I'd stop by any day. And given that opportunity—a memento (...mori) to remind myself—treat yourself to a straight cup of Wush Wush if and when it's on the menu, because my goodness is that some good coffee.

Nice cafe with delicious food. Our food and drinks were fresh and flavorful. Ordered the truffle mushroom soup and Australian beef in noodle soup, “Cool as a Cucumber” fresh juice. The soup was very good but the portion was small. The cafe is bright and spacious with great service.

The restaurant looks nice and has a rather upmarket atmosphere. I ordered the smash burger and pistachio coffee. The coffee was OK, but the burger was honestly underwhelming. Meat was a tad overdone and frankly, tasteless. The accompanying portion of chips could have been at least 20% to 40% bigger. In your bill they also automatically include a service charge. Overall it was 420k VND just for these two items, which I feel is over-priced and this place seems to be rather over-rated.

Really nice renovation of the place – it looks fresh and welcoming. Great variety of coffee and brunch options, with something for everyone. Perfect spot to relax and unwind on the weekend. Definitely worth a visit!
Phuong T — Google review
Yeah L’Usine is cool, I really like the decor and design style. It was quiet when I visited especially for a Saturday but that just added for speedy services The Smash Burger was good, still nice and rare enough, maybe could have done with a few more fries but not going to hold that against them. The portion was plentiful, it arrived pretty quickly and I did start to struggle with finishing it. Lovely pickled cucumbers as a side / condiment. All washed down with a lovely Saigon Sunrise, not sure what was in it but was fresh and non-alcoholic so that was perfect, followed up with a berry smoothie and that was delicious. The staff are very friendly, polite and easy going, the restroom facilities are very well done and immaculate, there is some beautiful artwork on the walls and there are some really nicely styled Tshirt and other souvenir items if your looking to take some quality items back referencing the city. All in all it’s a Vietnamese / French chic style with mostly western food, quiet enough to hear yourself talk and a quality service to boot.

La Viet Coffee Saigon, known for its exceptional space and high-quality beverages in Da Lat, has now opened a branch in Ho Chi Minh City. The three-story location offers diverse designs to cater to a wide range of customers. Visitors appreciate the unique menu and ambiance, making it a peaceful yet cool spot. Some suggest that the staff could benefit from improved customer service training. Situated on Ba Huyen Thanh Quan, the outdoor seating area adds charm to the experience.
I can confidently say that after spending some time with LàViet and visiting many of its branches, the Bà Huyện Thanh Quan location is the one that consistently delivers the best drinks I've experienced. With a current streak of 18 consecutive days at the store, enjoying my two favorite signature drinks, the Cold Brew Margarita and the Lavender Coffee Milk, I'd rate it a 9 out of 10. The staff are very friendly and lovely, and I'm always satisfied whenever I visit the Bà Huyện Thanh Quan branch. My foreign friends who have also tried the delicious coffee at LàViet have all praised the excellent quality.
Ben P — Google review
A place only feels like home when you’re with the right people... Marking a year of visiting this coffee shop - La Viet - almost every day, the young, dedicated souls working here have made me feel like the luckiest girl. And I think they should know this. They deserve to know how truly valuable they are, for what they do and the life they bring into this space—at least to me. More than just serving a legitimately delicious cup of Vietnamese coffee, the staff here always go the extra mile to make me feel welcomed. They’ve had to, unavoidably, listen to my stories—whether surprising, joyful, or unexpectedly sad—while making me little cheering drinks like this cutely presented lemon tea. Meanwhile, simply, just seeing a customer enjoy their coffee or snap a picture of their latte art can light up their day—no matter what unfortunate things they might be facing during the day. The greenery, both inside and outside area, is conscientiously taken care of. Just look at how sweet these little plants and pots are when the sun shines on them. So this is my ‘thank-you’ note, but also a little confession to YOU, whoever has met and served me. I hope it inspires you, recharges your battery for a hardworking day, and reminds you to believe in yourself a little more.

It was my first time going there with a friend. We ordered a Genmaicha latte and a matcha ice cream (can’t remember the exact name of my friend’s, but it had a coconut taste for sure). The drinks were nice, flavorful in their own way, but not something that made me go “wow.” Still, the Genmaicha latte is worth a try: it’s a mix of roasted rice green tea , ginger, and cream. The space has a minimalist vibe. It might get crowded during rush hours. They also charge 10,000 VND for motorbike parking.

I have tried to come here several times, but usually all the seats are taken. A few tries later, finally I got to come in to sit and drink. It is La Viet, so the drink is always great as expected since I have tried several locations across Vietnam. However, I feel this location is not designed well or the space is not well utilized. It was not so comfy to spend some time here.

Good coffee. Thank you Phuc, Dung, My and others for the great services. Highly recommended.

This place checks all the boxes for a laptop-friendly, trendy spot popular with expats and locals. The service is outstanding, with staff willing to go the extra mile to assist. Although Flat White isn't listed on the menu, you can order a latte for 55k VND. The barista skills are impressive, but personally, the latte had a bit too much milk for my taste, making it more like a very decent latte.

Cafe
Epic Coffee Roaster is a popular spot in Ho Chi Minh City, known for its great coffee and serene atmosphere. The cafe offers a minimalist decor with indoor and outdoor seating options. While it can get busy at times, it's a warm and lovely place to hang out with friends. The cafe also features single origin beans but some patrons have mixed reviews about the quality of their coffee.
one of my favorite coffee spots in Saigon!!! the atmosphere, the drink, the politeness of the staffs, everything are perfect. i love blended matcha drink and bánh trứng muối cay, so yummy and worth the kinda high prices. i always feel so comfortable and relaxed when i sit here, talking to my friends or just studying alone. the place is not much decorated like other "high-priced" coffee shops, but you'll definitely feel like home here.

In my opinion, the best coffee I have had in Vietnam. I had a simple hot Americano. Excellent! Sadly, I came here to buy beans, but they had sold out. A calm place to sit and work.

Epic Coffee Roaster is a standout café for true coffee enthusiasts. Known for their specialty roasts, the café offers a range of coffee beans sourced from various regions, all roasted to perfection in-house. The minimalist, cozy interior provides a relaxed vibe, perfect for both casual coffee dates or focused work sessions. Their espresso-based drinks are smooth and well-balanced, while pour-over options highlight the distinct flavors of each roast. The knowledgeable staff are passionate about coffee and are always eager to share recommendations. For anyone looking to explore quality coffee in a calm setting, Epic Coffee Roaster is the place to be.

We had our first coffee in Vietnam at Epic Coffee, and are we blown away by the taste or what? The roast is so well done. I got clear notes even in an iced almond latte. The service was polite and with pretty smiles. Loved this place.

It's a nice coffee shop with bare minimalist decor. They have seating at ground floor and upper floor as well as outdoor for those who smoke. The seat not comfort but still able to sit for 1-2 hours. They have choice for single origin beans but for me the coffee is not nice for a coffee shop with roaster in the name. Look how they make an ice espresso.

The salt cream matcha was amazing. Went to this cafe everyday while we were in HCM. Digital nomad friendly and very good service.

It’s very warm and lovely place to hang out with friends. But a minus point is next to the high school so students would come here to study and maybe a bit crowded sometimes. Some drinks are good but not all. Still recommend for people to come and try this lovely coffee shop

This cafe has one of the best coffee in town. I tried Vietnamese coffee with condense milk for 45k and it was really great. There are few workable long tables in the 1st floor and 2nd floor. It is also fairly quiet here even though there were many customers at the time of my visit. You can park your scooter right in front of the store here.

The modern ambiance features sleek glass walls and metallic tables that create a vibrant atmosphere where you can savor your cup of joe.
I really enjoyed the Nut croissant 🥐 as it was hot and had sufficient chocolate filling. The pesto pasta was not heavily flavored, so it’s to my liking. Prawns were cooked with light charring. Matcha latte was perfect in temperature and flavor.

Coffee here is amazing, although their coffee prices is on the higher side compared to other roasters, it was worth the trip coming. Ordered their iced latte and genuinely loved it. Strong and bold flavours, very distinct local Vietnamese beans. Hint of fruitiness but the sweetness from the milk balances out the latte perfectly. Nice ambience and the staff were friendly and helpful when choosing the right beans for me to buy.

A modern coffee house run by many enthusiastic coffee lovers. You can choose many different coffee making methods and they have many nice beans. The espresso is perfect. Many tasty foods and cakes in the menu. And matcha tea is available so. However this part of menu isn’t understandable for as crazy espresso lover. ;)

This is a wonderful coffee shop & cafe! First impression I was impressed because The place is very beautifully designed & a wonderful concept. Beautiful inside & out with a great outdoor seating area.. Then we were greeted with a warm welcome and friendly staff. It was also nice that they were knowledgeable, and Health explained the best method to my liking. And the coffee was absolutely delicious and perfectly created!. And great aroma’s wonderful flavor, smooth and start my morning off, right! It was also nice that they had some freshly made juice, and willing and able to easily accommodate some request changes on the menu to my liking for breakfast. I highly recommend this place for not only a pleasing atmosphere, but for some great coffee, good food and a very friendly staff!
Eli G — Google review
The staffs here are especially nice and sweet. I’ve been here 3 times and would say they are pretty consistent. The drinks are great: juice and tea is fresh and aromantic. I had the sweet lady drink and it has multiple layers of taste and they give you sugar syrup to modify the drink on your own, too. The americano and coffee here is on a more rich side not fruity or sour which is up to preference but I like the taste personally. Regarding the environment, I would say it's pretty chill with soft music and moderate noise (not too quiet or loud). It would be suitable for light work and hangouts with friends. However, the temperature isnt always very consistent. The first time I was here it was chilly and cool, last time it was a bit hot, and this time it is very cold. However, the staffs are very nice and you can ask them to adjust the AC so it's not a big deal. Some said the price is a bit expensive but I would say that it’s pretty on par with the location and the experience.

Aramour Coffee Roasters Thao Dien is a specialty coffee shop that has been committed to serving high-quality coffee while promoting ethical and sustainable practices since its establishment in 2018. The cafe features a charming garden area, although it may not be the most relaxing due to noise and warmth. However, there is an air-conditioned room upstairs with limited seating. While some find the seating uncomfortable, others appreciate the spacious and airy ambiance with various seating options.
Place is an absolute vibe. So lively and cute. Would come here more often if it was closer to where I am staying. Good drinks, amazing service. You can see some animals and birds in the neighboring backyard from the second floor. Super cute.

Drinks: Got lavender matcha and cappuccino and both were surprisingly good. Matcha was quite sweet due to the lavender milk but the lavender scent smells so aromatic and it was creamy too. Cappuccino was nice tho. Atmosphere: Were here last weekend and the place was packed, looks small from the outside but turns out to be quite spacious. Very greenery and they got some pets too!! Not cats or dogs.. there are duck(?), lots of birds and 2 big white fishes. Was sitting downstairs on a sunny day but it was cool here. Service: It was packed and more customers were in the place but the staffs kept everything under control and they were very nice. It took a while for our drinks to arrive but all fine because of the crowd. Gonna visit here again on a weekday and try sitting upstairs!!

The café boasts top-notch coffee from their onsite roasting facility, along with delicious treats like green tea scones filled with red bean.
In our 9 days spent in HCM, we visited Hummingbird 3 times!! Everything was delicious. My usual drink is their iced cappuccino, chef’s kiss! They also have the best croissants we’ve tasted in this trip. Spending mornings in this cafe is truly a delight.
Jill R — Google review
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Dropped by Hummingbird for a relaxing coffee break and was pleasantly impressed. The cranberry scone was golden on the outside, soft and fluffy inside, paired perfectly with rich clotted cream and a bright, fruity strawberry jam. I love their scones so much – really so good that I always end up ordering two whenever I’m here! The coffee was equally delightful – the latte was smooth with beautiful latte art, and the cold brew had a clean, refreshing finish. Great attention to detail in both presentation and flavor. A cozy spot worth coming back to for both sweet treats and quality coffee.

This cafe is one of our favourite coffee shelters. I had afterglow and it was so good. You can smell the coffee while tasting the creamy milk. My partner had salted caramel latte and he loved it too. I later got tamarind cold brew and it was okay. They have strong coffee bean and a great variety of choices in the menu. They have chilling vibe for coffee lovers to relax, or even work, too.

The tamarind coffee was so good and the early grey butter cake with the lemon sorbet is the best! It made me really happy! And Tim was very kind and helpful and answered all my questions! Would definitely recommend!

Tucked away in an old apartment, the cafe exudes a unique and cozy atmosphere that adds to its charm. The BEST coffee in Ho Chi Minh City. Yes, it's a bit pricier than your average coffee shop. However, quality beans, expert craftmanship, and attention to details make this cafe a one of a kind. Whether you are there for a nice cup of coffee, getting some digital work done (super fast internet), or just to get away to a peaceful, relaxing place, Manki provides the place to enjoy it. Sure there may be a better cafe than this place, but I know that this owner will do everything he can to raise the bar. The man is a true coffee artist!

Great cappuccino. It's the most expensive cappuccino so far in the city. Everything here is expensive. Hard to find. It's one floor up in a dodgy building. Follow the small signs. Of course 100% tourists. Service is nice. There are better places for sure.

Really nice cafe hidden on the first floor through the scooter parking lot. It was so good, we went twice during our visit to HCM. The cafe is well equipped with high-end machines and the coffee was of very good quality! They also offer a range of alternative milk incl. almond or oat milk, which we appreciated. And according to my girlfriend the matcha was also very nice. Also the staff were welcoming and gave the place a chill and not particularly touristy vibe. Definitely worth visiting if you’re looking for good good coffee in the area! 👌🏽

Excellent ice drip coffee. The cafe allows u to pick the coffee beans and the brewing method you want for your coffee. The coffee’s taste is aromatic and rich. Reasonable price for the coffee and pastries. The cheesecake is excellent and goes really well with the coffee. The cafe has great design and is honestly such a vibe. Friendly staff and boss. Offers many payment methods including Apple Pay. Overall great place to sit , relax and enjoy the atmosphere of the cafe. Only downside of the cafe is that is a bit hard to find as it is not on the ground floor but rather the second floor. You will need to enter through a dingy looking garage. Do take note that u will need to climb a flight of stairs to reach the cafe. There is however a sign on the outside of the garage but the sign is quite small.

Such a cool industrial designed cafe. Located on the second floor of a building, We ordered an iced vanilla matcha latte and oat flat white and they were both good. A small busy coffee shop hidden in a tiny alley of Thai Van Lung street. Personally, it’s a little bit pricey for average drinks. Banana ice pop is overpriced. Also, it says VND 18,000 on the menu at my table but the actual charge is VND 20,000. Hope they will update the new price on that menu soon.
Duyen D — Google review
Stopped in for a coffee. Mainly western styled coffee here. Sitting area inside is small and there is also an outside area. The music is very obnoxious if you are trying to work or read (basically the top 50 on Spotify with more USA style rap). Coffee is also very small. My husband ordered an iced coffee and I ordered a hot coffee and we both got iced. Oh well. It was still ok.

Hip coffee shop, tucked away in an alley in japantown. The americano tasted as an americano should, given good beans and a great barista, a lot of bean taste and a delightful drink. Maison Marou Flagship Saigon is a popular spot in Ho Chi Minh City for chocolate lovers. It's the gourmet dessert cafe of the well-known Vietnamese artisan chocolate brand, Marou. The cafe offers an assortment of delicious chocolate-based treats like pastries, cakes, cookies, and beverages. Visitors can also observe the crafting process at the mini chocolate factory within the shop. Marou has gained international recognition for its high-quality chocolates made from ingredients sourced from six provinces in Vietnam.
We had such a lovely visit! The hot cappuccinos were incredible—creamy, perfectly balanced, and just the right strength of coffee without any bitterness. We also tried their cieche (a savory pastry), which came beautifully presented with a surprisingly delicious chocolate sauce—our first time tasting savory chocolate like this, and we loved it! And don’t miss the double chocolate cookies—they warmed them up for us and wow… perfectly buttery, mild, yet deeply rich in chocolate flavor. A must-stop spot for chocolate lovers in Saigon!

The packaging is sooooo adorable! They also have dessert selections where they make it for you in the spot once it’s ordered! The tiramisu in a can and chocolate chip was also scrumptious! High end compare to other chocolate shops around Ho chi Ming but absolutely worth it!

Flaky with barely any butter taste, and the outer layer (probably the egg wash) had a very weird fishy note. on top of that it was served cold, we asked twice to reheat and it came out slightly warm. pain au chocolat was basically just chocolate bar wrapped in pastry their cookies and chocolate line still shine as always but pastries quality should have been better!!

Talk Barista Saigon is a small artisanal coffee spot in Ho Chi Minh, offering a peaceful escape from the city bustle. It's known for its excellent espresso and pour-over coffee, as well as personalized attention to detail. Despite its modest size, it has been recognized as the best coffee shop in Ho Chi Minh by TripAdvisor, elevating Saigon's coffee scene. Visitors can also participate in barista classes and learn to create their own latte art with the owner's guidance.
I have always wanted to learn more about coffee in order to truly appreciate every cup i drink. I believe coffee is art and that coffee has so much to offer other than a caffeine kick. I found talk barista online and gave it a try as it was conveniently located and easy to get to. I am glad that my first experience with understanding coffee was with the guidance of Mr. Viet. What i love is that we learn through the process of creating. We learned about roasting while roasting beans. We learned about art latte while making art latte. Through this, i am not only able to visualize the process but also absorb the knowledge of creating that process. Its very hands on with latte art. We practice first with water and then take turns experiencing the whole process of making an espresso, foaming the milk, creating the latte art, and cleaning up the machine after. Within the 6 mornings that i had with talk barista, i was able to make the following latte art: Heart Leaf Tulip Highly recommend Talk Barista. Mr. Viet is very passionate about what he does. -stephanie

I really enjoyed my time at the shop learning to appreciate high quality coffee. The owner as well as the master is an extremely genuine insightful and funny guy. I had a great time learning to make craft coffee drinks as well as listening to the master sharing his life experiences. Highly recommend this well organized and interesting coffee class. I'm very proud to be able to make some beautiful patterns after this first coffee class.

The place is unique! We stayed here for 2 nights, and this stay was so special that we have to review it. The building is located in a quiet alley, right next to the Van Thanh MRT and Van Thanh Park. The subway takes 2 stops to the Opera House, and 3 stops to the Ben Thanh market. The building has the ground floor for Barista courses, with all kinds of equipment to make coffee. The host treated us with several very delicious and special cups of coffee. The room is clean and spacious, with an extra big bed, a kitchen, and a huge bathroom. The host let us check in early and check out late. What impressed us the most was the intense talk with the host about the belief in life. We will definitely be back here, next time maybe save some time to take a quick course in the art of barista.

The experience here is very unique! I have learned so many things about coffee but also about life and myself. It’s something you won‘t hear anywhere else so enjoy the time there and especially the talk with the teacher :)

From the time my son and I arrived at the coffeeshop , we already felt the calmness and peacefullness of the place. Mr.Viet taught us not only the art and technique of coffee making but the right attitude of enjoying every moment of the experience. I recommend and support local businesses who does not focus mainly on making profit but rather sharing their expertise and experiences.. especially on mindfulness! Thank you very much to Talk Barista and more power!

The Old Compass Cafe and Bar is a trendy coffeehouse that serves simple Thai dishes, coffee, wine, and breakfast options. On Friday evenings, it becomes a live music venue featuring folk music and singer-songwriters. The decor of this expat-owned cafe is cozy and welcoming, offering a small selection of wines and craft beer. During the day, it's a sanctuary serving breakfast, fresh juices, and delicious coffee in a 1960s apartment building in Saigon.
Nice small coffee shop with a good menu and great cappuchino, which despite the many coffee shops in Vietnam, is really hard to find! Staff and service is A+++. Really pretty inside with wooden tables and leather covered stools. There’s a table that seats 10 and smaller tables for 4…and a comfortable couch in a bright corner if you’re a single traveller looking to curl up somewhere. Really nice vibe and a place to come with friends. The Bahn Mi’s were great and they also have eggs and bacon if you’re looking for a western breakfast. It’s a little hard to find though. It’s down the alley just past the driveway to the big buiding next door… on the corner. There’s a sign at the beginning of the alleyway and then you have to walk up to the 2nd floor.

A true hidden gem right in the heart of bustling District 1, The Old Compass Café & Bar is an absolute delight. Stepping inside feels like escaping into a calm oasis filled with charm and authenticity, far from the touristy buzz. I especially loved their Vietnamese dishes—the daily specials are fresh, tasty, and full of local flavors, beautifully presented with lots of care. The team is genuinely warm and attentive. This cozy spot has quickly become one of my favorite places in Saigon. Highly recommend!
Drossel S — Google review
Nice cosy café with friendly staff and a clean, quiet atmosphere. Loved the healthy breakfast — it was fresh and satisfying. The cappuccino had too much milk and was too hot, and the salad was a bit too sweet for my taste. Still, a pleasant place overall. I’d come back for the breakfast and the peaceful vibe.
Ann N — Google review
Don't skip this small coffee shop. It is about halfway down a narrow alley that you would probably pass by without looking. Up a few stairs you walk into this quaint lovely coffee house. It is very quiet, bright and relaxing. What I read as a simple vegan meal on the menu board, arrived as a full table of food. More than I could finish alone. Needless to say, everything was fresh and tasty. There's a selection of books at the end of the counter, with a few items for purchase. This is a charming and relaxing spot if you want to sit and work or read quietly.

A quiet comfortable retreat amidst the chaos. A cool vibe, beautiful healthy food and a peaceful, air conditioned environment. A great place to recharge your batteries or catchup on your work or holiday photo edits whilst enjoying great food and drink. Highly recommended. NOTE: it’s a little tricky to find as the entry is about a 10metre setback from the main street, enter via a narrow lane. And it is on Level 3, but worth the stair climb.
Dene W — Google review
I absolutely loved the charm of this old-style restaurant! It was such a beautiful place. Unfortunately, we had already eaten too much before arriving, so we could only manage to order a drink in the end. I definitely want to come back and try the food next time I visit HCMC!
Chlotus — Google review
Not sure if it's a better place to visit during the day but the variety here wasn't great for us but the vibes were quite good. Drinks and dessert were decent. As with quite a few places that we visited...you need to walk up the stairs if you wanna enjoy a quiet and relaxing place to chat and unwind.

Cafe
Little HaNoi Egg Coffee (Le Lai) is a hidden gem in Hanoi that offers exceptional cuisine and high-quality food. The friendly and professional servers, Ms. Nhien and Aunty Yong, contribute to the returning and contented patrons with their outstanding hospitality. The talented chef prepares meals with passion and consistency. Visitors praise the egg coffee for its amazing texture and warmth, as well as the great ambiance of the place.
This is a really cute cafe. It’s five minutes walk away from our hotel. We tried the egg latte, mango toast, and ham and cheese toast - they all taste great. I prefer the egg latte with ice as it is less creamy than the hot version. This is a great option for anyone who wants to try egg coffee or a place to chat with friends.
Sawa F — Google review
Despite usually avoiding coffee, the egg coffee piqued my curiosity enough to give it a try - and wow, it was absolutely delicious and unlike anything I’ve ever tasted. The idea of pouring an egg into coffee might sound absurd in Europe, but here it works brilliantly, creating a rich, creamy and surprisingly smooth drink. A must-try for adventurous palates and fans of custard-like treats. The small patties were enjoyable, nicely seasoned and comforting. The noodles, however, lacked flavor and the broth smelled a bit off; its taste didn’t excite me and it was oddly greasy, though fine as a quick snack. Overall, a fascinating culinary stop, with the egg coffee alone making the visit worthwhile.
Kasia P — Google review
Tried their famous egg coffee and it did not disappoint! The foam was thick, creamy, and slightly sweet — like dessert in a cup. The coffee underneath was strong and balanced, giving that perfect bitter-sweet contrast. The shop itself is small but charming, with old Hanoi vibes, vintage decor, and friendly staff. A great spot to chill or introduce friends to a truly Vietnamese-style coffee experience. Highly recommend trying it hot rather than iced to enjoy the full flavor and creamy texture. ⭐️ 4.5/5 – Would definitely come back!
Ra C — Google review
The restaurant exceeded all my expectations. The place is well-organized, beautiful, and peaceful. The staff were extremely polite, respectful, and very welcoming. The food was incredibly delicious — truly unlike anything I’ve tasted anywhere else in the world. I enjoyed every moment while eating. The iced egg coffee was surprisingly good; I was hesitant to try it at first, but my opinion completely changed after tasting it. I will definitely have it again on my next visit. I highly recommend anyone visiting the city to come here.

The egg coffee and the food here are absolutely amazing! The place is beautifully decorated, making it a really comfortable spot to sit and relax. Prices are also very reasonable. And the staff? They're incredibly nice and friendly. Highly recommend this place if you're a fan of egg coffee and toast!

Very good the egg coffee, also the salmon avocado toast was nice. The avocado was mashed but I'm sure that if you ask them, you can get the sliced one. The service is pretty practical, no frills, but it's ok. Relaxed atmosphere, there was also done students with laptop so I imagined you can stay long, working or chilling

Absolutely loved this cafe! It was super convenient, right near our hotel, and we're so glad we skipped breakfast there for this gem. Everything was delicious, especially the egg Benedict – seriously good! Highly recommend!

Coming to this place was no mistake—it was absolutely worth the walk. The egg coffee here is a must-try: rich, creamy, and perfectly foamy. Once you get the hang of sipping it, you’ll appreciate just how bold and satisfying it really is. A fun and delicious way to experience a unique take on coffee. We stopped by after dinner, and the ambiance couldn’t have been better—romantic yet refined, with a quiet charm that makes it ideal for winding down the evening. To top it all off, the barista was incredibly sweet—warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. We had a lovely chat after finishing our drinks, which made the experience even more memorable. Highly recommend this café for both the coffee and the conversation.

Lots of alcoves for seating areas and options at a number of different levels. Though a heads-up if you want to seat in an air conditioned room (it’s very noisy + lots of families with children) as opposed to sitting in the open air as close to a fan as possible. Waterfalls, trees in bloom, trees growing through the roof, flowers, lights - lots of photo opportunities.
Geoff L — Google review
Du Mien Garden is a gorgeous spot with a unique and peaceful ambiance. The lush greenery, calming atmosphere, and stylish design really make it a perfect place to relax, take photos, or just enjoy some quiet time. Whether you’re there for a casual hangout or a more intimate moment, the setting is really inviting and well thought out. However, when it comes to the food, it’s just okay. While it’s not bad, it didn’t leave a lasting impression, and some dishes could definitely use a little more flavor or variety. But honestly, the food is almost secondary to the incredible ambiance that makes the place so enjoyable. If you’re looking for a beautiful space to unwind and enjoy a peaceful moment, Du Mien Garden is worth the visit. Just don’t expect the food to blow you away… the environment is where this place really shines!

Du Miên Garden Café is one of Saigon’s most beautiful and thoughtfully designed cafés. The creative use of space is incredible! A lush garden built around flowing water features and towering old trees, with bridges, pathways, and a stunning treehouse that feels like something out of a movie. The menu offers both quality food and a wide range of delicious drinks, all well presented and full of flavour. It’s the perfect place to relax on a sunny day or even when there’s a light rain, as the setting becomes even more atmospheric. Our visit was interrupted by a massive and torrential downpour, but the staff handled it, helping guests stay comfortable and dry. Despite the weather, it remained a great experience. One that I'll definitely repeat.

Vietnam Coffee Republic Company offers a variety of coffee options, including Robusta and Arabica beans. The medium roasted coffee is recommended for its balanced intensity, acidity, sweetness, and fragrance. The cafe has a diverse clientele and a location with Japanese-inspired design aesthetic. They offer espresso-based coffees and sell beans and accessories. Visitors can also learn about the combination of Da Lat-grown specialty Arabica and Robusta coffee beans through different blends and brewing methods.
This area doesn’t have much comfy places and most of the restaurants and cafes are rather quick eat and go style. But this cafe has a nice space with a good long table to sit and spend some time. Their coffee is also pretty good.

A cool mix of hip locals, young Korean nationals, and westerners. Their other location is located in the Japanese district a few mins away. This location has better outside seating than inside, which is a showroom with a nice Japanese inspired design aesthetic. The espresso based coffees are fairly good for Vietnam. They sell their beans here, as well as other coffee accessories. Relaxing music, not impossible to do some writing/reading here.

I like the coffee at this place, it was really delicious. The space is nice, but having the managers or owners smoke right at the front of the door while the smoke and smell blows in to the coffee shop is a real turn-off. Asked the staff if we could close the door so that it prevents the smell from coming in and they declined. UPDATE: Thank you to the owners for responding and acknowledging my concern. Would be happy to come back again to try the delicious coffee ❤️

If you’re in Saigon Japanese Town, Vietnamese Coffee Republic is one of the please you should not miss out! Especially if you’re looking for a place to chill in the early morning. There’s parking slot for bike right in-front so you don’t have to walk anywhere. Smoking seats outsides with huge hand drawn graphic, higher table & seats indoor and on the coffee bar. There’s an elevator right outside so I suspect they have airbnb or hostel upstairs (if you’re interested!). Sophisticated menu with diverse coffee types, from basic Vietnamese Coffee to their signature coffee, such as “Old Fashioned” or “Cong Hoa Sua Da” (recommended). Best part, the service and their welcoming vibe is just a 10 out of 10!! Stop by if you have a chance! They also available on mobile apps.

Recommend this place for a cup of Joe if you end up finding yourself at the Ben Tahn Market. The Vietnamese filter coffee was 29k, a reasonable price for very good coffee if you like it strong. The atmosphere is good, plenty of relaxed individuals chatting and/or working, the only issue you might run into is seating as this place is popular.

BEL is a unique apartment community that sets a new standard for coffee and wine enthusiasts, aiming to create a sense of belonging among its customers. Founded by coffee and wine experts in Ho Chi Minh City, including Mr. Will, a former specialty coffee expert with SCA in America, BEL offers both coffee during the day and wine at night. The cozy atmosphere makes it an ideal spot to savor coffee or grab a quick bite.
BEL is my new favorite coffee spot in Saigon. The pour-over here is outstanding — smooth, aromatic, and probably one of the best values among specialty cafés in town. Their Single Origin Americano is a bold, flavor-packed must-try. Great space, thoughtful menu, and a real love for good coffee. They also offer decaf beans that taste almost indistinguishable from the real deal — perfect for those who are caffeine-sensitive or just want a second cup later in the day. Creative blends, teas, sodas, smoothies, and a nice pastry corner round out the experience. Limited food, but Oliver’s pizza and Green Box nearby make a quick lunch easy. Definitely worth a visit. 📍 Best for: Coffee lovers who care about brew quality, cozy work/study vibes, solo coffee breaks ☕️ Must-try: Pour-over (ask the barista for their pick!), Single Origin Americano, surprisingly good Decaf 📸 Tip: Sit at the Brew Bar for a close-up view of the pour 🕰 Best time to visit: Morning or early afternoon — quiet, with natural light

The only positive about this place is nicely designed fit out. The coffee and pineapple tea drink are awful or bad. Staffs need to learn more, especially how to smile. The music is so loud, until i couldnt talk with people on the phone. We asked for the music to be turned down, the staff said “can not”… unbelievable. Parking is available for motorbike. Overall, pricey, bad experienxe, we were disappointed..

I was running my errands and stopped by this coffee shop to unwind. Glad I came here as it was quiet, comfortable, and had some good options to have with dairy-free milk! I had the choccy milk with oat milk, which tasted so good and refreshing to drink under the heat (although the coffee shop has a/c). I did have a hard time to choose as a lot of drinks sounded so good (and probably tasted so good). Also had complimentary water, which one can get from a dispenser. I stayed here for a while as it was quiet enough to read and write. Other customers were working on their laptops, so it’s a good place to do some work too. Also seems dog-friendly. Great music played. Staff were friendly. For sure, this is a place I want to visit again when I come back!

Nestled in a nondescript building near the towering Bitexco skyscraper, Whisfee Café & Bar offers a cozy and tranquil workspace with great Vietnamese iced coffee. The café exudes a speakeasy vibe, with little corners for patrons to tuck themselves away and enjoy an array of beverages from the menu. The first-floor location provides a characteristic charm, while the hospitable owners are always eager to share their love for Saigon and coffee.
Accidentally stumbled upon this café, and as soon as I stepped in, I felt a sense of peace and great vibes. Every corner of this place is thoughtfully and meticulously designed, making me feel like the owner has excellent taste. My friend and I spent nearly four hours here taking photos and felt completely satisfied. The drinks were decent, prices were quite reasonable, and the staff were kind and welcoming. It made me want to keep this gem all to myself. I’ll definitely be coming back!

A combination of whiskey and coffee shop, Whisfee offers pretty much well prepared drinks. Although we only ordered a milk coffee, the staff even did taste test it before serving it to us, like a true bartender. The music playlist is carefully curated, with soft and calming melodies that complement the tranquil atmosphere. The abundance of indoor plants creates a blanket of greenery. Everything seemed to have soothed my soul the moment I stepped through the coffee shop's door.

Quaint cafe in a very old building, seems like we are back in time and everything moves in slow motion. This cafe serves rather nice coffee. If this place is air conditioned, I believed it will be even more comfortable.

Nice cafe with a dark concept and vintage decoration. This place serves only beverages like coffee, juice and tea but unfortunately they don't serve food. The taste of drinks is very good and the price is affordable. The service is good and the waiter that serve us treat us nicely with a smile. The vibe is very cool and it's also suitable for those who like aesthetic cafes cause this is one of the places you must visit. A Lot of nice angles and great views from the balcony where you can see the street. Most importantly you will feel peace and calm while sipping your drink. Other than this cafe, there are few cafes located in this building that you can visit as an alternative according to your preferences. Overall, it is recommended to come here for those who want to relax and have a drink.

You will definitely need Google maps to find this hidden gem. Even with google maps I had to as a local once I was there to know where to go to get to it. You go into an alley that set of stairs. Once you get there, you fine vintage coffee oasis. The ambience is relaxing and feels like old world Saigon. It’s small and cozy. The coconut coffee and the coffee are absolutely delicious! The services is very friendly. I did take a long time to get our coffees, but that’s because they hand make it. It’s worth the wait. If I lived there, I will come back regularly over any of the big coffee chains.

The shop has its own unique vibe, which is quite nice. It’s a small place and doesn’t have air conditioning. Drinks take a bit long to come out. The drinks are okay.
Quyen D — Google review
I love the atmosphere here. So calm and steady. We've ordered one egg coffee and one coconut coffee. The egg coffee tasted great, I enjoyed it even though I am not a coffee enthusiast, but I wanted to try something new and it definitely paid off. The coconut coffee was blended with ice which is good in hot days, however, it wasn't as creamy and milky. For example, I liked a coconut coffee from Mocking Bird Café better. Still, this place is pretty nice and besides the drinks you can also order some simple snacks.

Anh Coffee Roastery is a newly established coffee spot with a visually appealing design both inside and out. The architecture and interior are predominantly made of salmon-tinted brickwork, creating a unique atmosphere for socializing over coffee. The venue features bench-style tables adorned with decorative green plants, making it an ideal place for Instagram-worthy moments.
Lovely cafe right across the road from our Hotel (Sherwood Residence). Delicious coffee and pastries, our family really enjoyed everything. The egg and bacon toasted sandwich was so amazing. Easy to read menus and even models of some food to help you choose. Could pay with card. Highly recommend!

Reasonably priced. Salmon and avocado brioche and the smoked salmon salad with Greek yogurt dressing were very good. Also ordered a tiramisu croffle to share and it was crispy and fluffy. Ichigo matcha was delicious with chunks of strawberries but might be a little on the sweet side. Matcha frappe was full of matcha flavour and not too sweet (which we prefer!). We didn’t encounter wifi issues when we were there. 2 mains, 2 drinks, 1 croffle and 1 dessert came up to be 570,000

Incredibly beautiful and delicious place! Great to work/study, chat with a friend or just enjoy some solo journaling time! The drinks selection is at the highest level and I loved everything, but especially the milk foam oolong tea - it’s like nothing I ever had before. The tartness of the tea with the creamy sweet milk foam, that has a vanilla ice cream flavor to it…absolutely incredible!

From a Coffee person perspective, this is extremely a disappointing experience. 95k for a Orange Cold brew, and what I get is basically Orange juice and a tiny shot of espresso. Let me say clearly, I had so many much better orange cold brew with 60k,65k or even much cheaper. What I am complaining is with this price, the given quality must be much better than this, 1 word only: overprice. As of service, the cashier did not look exactly happy when I ordered..and atmosphere, if you sit outside on a windy day, it would be nice. But inside, the interior design is okay with such a vintage orange tone, however, the common space is too small, and very noisy if everyone start talking. I would not highly recommend this place as a reviewer. Let me drop some picture that I took here, which looks nice but I guess, for the actual experience, it’s up to you to try. P/s: I did not try the food but it was also quite expensive…I would not recommend nhe🙏🏻

I recently visited this beautiful cafe on a weekday afternoon, and to my pleasant surprise, it wasn’t too crowded. The first floor, with its excellent air-conditioning, was cool and inviting, perfect for escaping the hot sunny day outside. Initially, I didn’t expect much and thought it would be like any other cafe. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the drinks and pastries. The salted caramel coffee was fantastic—well-made and pleasant to drink. Even if you’re not a fan of strong coffees, the flavors are nicely balanced. I also tried a tart pastry, which was delightful with its perfect mix of flakiness and a nice bread-like texture that I enjoyed immensely. The service crew is lovely and highly skilled, ensuring a great experience. The ambience on the first floor is captivating, with plenty of room to relax and enjoy your drink. It’s spacious enough to bring a book and read or sit with friends to chill, enjoying good coffee and natural light. All in all, this cafe offers a combination of excellent coffee, delightful treats, superb service, and a charming atmosphere. It’s a place where you can bask in the vibes and have a relaxing time. Strongly recommend popping by if you happen to be in the area!

Coffee here is amazing! I love their Pandan one - which i dont think you can find anywhere else!! But if you wanna go for the Vietnamese classic, order salted or eggy ones. My baristas are Joey + Tom 🤓 I also signed up for their workshop, so fun! I learned so much about Vietnamese coffee ☕️ Noah is very good at explaining about everything & super lovely 😊 The workshop I attended is a fun & easy one - made 3 types of coffee : Black coffee, Salty Coffee & their signature with yogurt cream topping. I wish I had more time so I can attend the egg coffee workshop too 🥺 They export a lot of their beans as well so I recommend you get some home ! Definitely worth a visit!

During the class, we learned how to make Vietnamese white coffee, salted coffee, and yogurt coffee, each with its own unique story and flavor. It was a great way to understand not just how to brew, but also the cultural background behind each drink. Our teacher Quan was amazing, he is very friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. Dabao Concept is a trendy café situated in the bustling Ho Chi Minh City. This stylish establishment offers an array of delectable beverages such as coffee, tea, and fresh juices, alongside a variety of sweet and savory snacks. The cafe's signature Dabao coffee is particularly popular for its smooth and creamy flavor. Housed in a converted old villa, the café provides a cozy atmosphere for patrons to relax and savor their favorite Vietnamese drinks.
Dropped by this spot in District 3 after seeing some photos online, and it lived up to the cozy vibe I was hoping for. 1. The outdoor area is spacious and breezy, making it a great place to sit and relax 2. Inside, the seating is thoughtfully arranged with large glass windows that let in plenty of natural light 3. The matcha with jasmine tea was a pleasant surprise—smooth and fragrant 4. The coffee was on the stronger side, which might be a bit much for some... Overall, it's a nice spot to unwind and enjoy a drink in a comfortable setting 🦋
Sagar J — Google review
I like the setting concept here. But the service was so poorly executed. They got us the wrong drink, when we asked them to redo the drink, they refused to do that. So I paid for another drink for $65,000 đồng. I ordered Matcha sữa yến mạch hoa nhài. When they brought us the drink, there was no fresh jasmine flowers on it either as they said they don’t have it anymore. Why is the customer not being informed ahead of time? Restroom is not clean either. I don’t recommend this place.
Alynn N — Google review
The staff here are very friendly and attentive, which made the experience pleasant. The menu offers a wide variety of drinks, though the flavors are quite average and nothing particularly outstanding. However, the space is perfect for those who love taking photos, as it beautifully captures the charm of old Vietnamese architecture and vintage vibes.
Shellie V — Google review
The ambience is great: the place is tastefully arranged and reminiscent of old Saigon. However, the café is a bit hot and the drinks aren't that good (especially at that price). I think it's more suitable in small groups or dates than solo guests who want to finish their deadlines.
Trương C — Google review
service is quite bad, especially considering it is all accumulated behind a single till. they have buzzers and do not serve the drinks to your table which means you get privacy and freedom in the space. the food was not heated up properly even though I have specifically asked it to be. the drink was just alright. but the staff was straight up condescending/rude. I don’t think they are very happy working there. the toilet was clogged and disgusting as a result. so many tables were not cleaned up after the customers gave already left: treys everywhere and full drinks, left behind by visitors. I guess, people mostly come here to take photos, they do not even care about the drinks they are spending money on. this place needs way more staff to be respectable. as beautiful as it is, it is poorly looked after and thus, impersonal.

The design is nice, each corner with different concept which is very creative, vintage, nostalgic, chill, ... 👍 Best view is the overlooking to the airport runway fields landing up and down. The shop is mainly for chill and take pictures of the fields. ⚡️Tip: You should come in the afternoon or daytime to see the view. Avoiding coming on the weekends because it is very crowded and noisy. 💁‍♀️💁‍♂️ The staff are nice and polite. ⛔️Minus points: crowded, noisy, narrow, slow services (due to crowded). If it's for study or work group meeting, the shop here is not suitable

ABOUT LIFE COFFEE BREWERS HCM is a popular coffee stand originally from Tokyo, now located in Vietnam. The cozy and minimalist decor creates a welcoming atmosphere for visitors to unwind. Despite its small menu, the cafe offers high-quality coffee curated with precision by passionate baristas. Customers can enjoy their beverages indoors or outdoors, with a modified sitting area that reflects local inspiration. While some have found the beans bitter on certain days, others appreciate the excellent coffee bean selection and English-speaking staff.
Hidden in an alley, but absolutely worth the detour! 🪴☕ I visited About Life Coffee Brewers (ALCB) after a meal at Pizza 4P’s next door and wow, what a memorable coffee experience. 🧭 First, a heads-up: The café is tucked ~50m inside a small alley off the main road. My Grab driver dropped me by the road, and I hesitated because the alley, also the ALCB signage is right beside Pizza 4P’s. Turns out, it’s all part of the same building, just different zones. Once you spot the signboard, you're in the right place! 🥤 I ordered their “Strait 7” (hot) a unique mix of espresso, fresh milk, condensed milk, sugar syrup, black pepper, and kosher salt. Sounds odd? It completely amazed me as a coffee lover. 🧂 The spice aroma, subtle saltiness, and smooth creamy base created a rich, layered flavor. Adventurous coffee drinkers, you MUST try this! 👩‍🍳 Service was warm and thoughtful. Staff welcomed me with a gentle tone and smile, confirmed I wasn’t here for pizza, then guided me to the coffee area. No pushy upselling, just good energy and respect. The coffee was served fast, and I appreciated the casual yet professional vibe. 🌿 The space? Beautiful. Bright lighting, full of greenery, clean glass panels, tidy tables, and best of all, the floor and toilet were super clean (shared with Pizza 4P’s indoor space). Toilets are well ventilated it is not stuffy or hot, and well-maintained. The café seating is outdoors, but shaded with fans and good airflow. You can also politely ask to sit inside the air conditioned area if space is available. 📸 Perfect for photo-taking and content creation. Not loud, not chaotic, just peaceful and thoughtfully designed. 💳 Payment was smooth (they accept Mastercard), and I noticed motorbike parking service in the alley. I came by Grab, but it felt safe and calm even as a solo visitor. ✅ Final verdict: – Amazing coffee with a twist – Clean, Instagram-worthy ambiance – Kind staff and relaxing vibes – Fair pricing for tourists 🧡 Will definitely come back again, a 5-star gem hiding in plain sight. Highly recommend this place to any coffee explorer visiting Ho Chi Minh City!

I tried their pour-over coffee, and it was exceptional – smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced. Their espresso-based drinks are equally impressive, with a bold flavor that lingers pleasantly. What stands out is their dedication to sourcing sustainable, high-quality beans, ensuring a delightful brew every time. about life coffee brewers hcm brings reliable coffee with urban social vibes THE COFFEE THAT HITS THE SPOT the brew situation is solid - while it might not be life-changing, the coffee is genuinely enjoyable and makes for a reliable caffeine stop that gets the job done. THE URBAN GATHERING VIBES this isn't your quiet neighborhood spot - it's got that cool urban energy where people come to connect, work, or just enjoy the modern atmosphere. THE SOCIAL WORKSPACE REALITY this spot works for both social hangs and light work sessions if you don't need complete silence. most seating comes with small tables that are compact but functional for laptops or notebooks. THE CHILL OUTDOOR SITUATION super relaxed outdoor seating only, giving major hang energy. it can get a little warm in the summer, but the good vibes are worth it. THE MINIMALIST MOVES no frills, no distractions – just quality coffee served in a space that understands less is more. it's the anti-trendy cafe we never knew we needed. THE CALL if you're chasing decent coffee in a sleek outdoor space and don't mind some background hustle, this spot absolutely delivers for your urban coffee needs. don't forget to ❤️.

Cà phê Đỗ-Phủ, cơm tấm Đại-Hàn is a unique café in Ho Chi Minh City that offers a blend of coffee culture and history. Housed in an old preserved Viet Cong supporter's home with a secret underground bunker, it provides visitors with the opportunity to explore the historical significance of the location. The café features vintage decor and a balcony where guests can enjoy traditional Vietnamese-style coffee while observing local life.
Do Phu Cafe is an interesting destination if you love to learn a little about the history and explore the old house that used to be the secret base of the Saigon Special Forces. The lady (perhaps the host) is very willing to introduce and show you where documents, letters, and money were hidden in aluminium cans hanging in the narrow wall. The secret basement, just enough for one person to crawl into, is camouflaged in a wooden wardrobe upstairs, with an exit to the house's back door. It is great to be able to enjoy broken rice in a space where the objects associated with it seem to witness all the events that happened here, from the past during the war to today's peacetime. Although it is introduced that the broken rice dish still retains the same flavour as before 1975, honestly I find it a little below average. The meat is too dry and the steamed egg meatloaf seems to have too little glass noodles and wood ear mushrooms in the ingredients. In return, the pickles are very delicious. The drinks are also very typical, most of them are popular drinks from the old days. But the flavours are not too outstanding.
Genevieve V — Google review
Awarded as one of the Exciting Things in Ho Chi Minh 2023, Cà Phê Đỗ Phủ is renowned for its culinary offerings. A standout dish is the “Cơm Tấm Đại Hàn” (Korean-style broken rice), which features tender grilled pork chops, shredded pork skin, pickled vegetables, and a fried egg, all complemented by a flavorful fish sauce. They also offer a version of Vietnamese phin filter coffee that’s paired with youtiao (giò cháo quẩy), a uniquely nostalgic combination that reflects the blending of Vietnamese and Chinese culinary influences. Beneath its unassuming facade lays a pivotal role in Vietnam's struggle for independence, the establishment became a clandestine base during the Vietnam War. It housed secret tunnels and bunkers used to store weapons and documents, playing a crucial part in Vietnamese operations. This café stands as a testament to Vietnam's resilience and rich cultural tapestry, offering visitors a unique blend of history and gastronomy in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City.

Stepping into Cà phê Cơm Tấm ĐỖ – Phủ felt like opening a door back to the 80s and 90s, when life moved slower, radios hummed in the background, and the scent of home-cooked meals drifted through wooden windows. The space is a living postcard — weathered walls, classic checkered tiles, vintage guitars hanging by the window, and the warm patina of time on every piece of furniture. It’s not “decor” here; it’s a time capsule. For those of us who grew up in that era, every detail whispers, “Remember?” And then there’s the food — the star of the show. The cơm tấm here is the kind you don’t just eat, you feel. Perfectly grilled pork chop with a gentle smokiness, fried egg with a creamy yolk, bouncy vermicelli, and fluffy rice — all tied together by a tangy-sweet fish sauce. Every bite is comfort; every bite is a memory. Pair it with a cold soda chanh, and you have a full ticket back to simpler days. For anyone visiting Saigon, especially those chasing a taste of the past, ĐỖ – Phủ is not just a meal stop — it’s a chapter of your own story waiting to be re-read.

The cafe is managed by the grandson of a former Special Forces soldier, who shares stories about his grandfather's role in the war. The adjacent unit, which served as a weapons bunker, is open from 7-11am for visitors to explore. The welcoming museum staff are happy to guide you through the house and exhibits, providing a unique educational experience combined with a wonderful Vietnamese cafe experience. While the cafe menu is limited, the basic local fare like cơm tấm and cà phê sữa (Vietnamese iced coffee) is decent and inexpensive, making it a great spot to soak in the historical ambiance.

It’s all about coffee and war time history! We stopped in here as part of a scooter tour for coffee and to learn about the history of the one time owners long ago. We enjoyed our bold and smooth coffee while hearing about the places history. We then got to explore the tunnel and then up to the second floor that was also once a hidden room. You won’t be disappointed if you make a stop here!

Ordered a coffee and the com tam. The food seemed a bit pricey but tasted good. The nuc mam was very spicy though. Came mainly to check out the secret bunker. Honestly my biggest highlight it was soooo cool. The museum next door I was told had times slots when you can enter. Unfortunately I missed out. I was a bit sad cause I wanted to check it out, soon after a staff member from the cafe called me over next door to check out the secret bunker. Basiscally she lifted a tile off the floor and told me to climb down. Had no idea what was going on but once I went down it was coolest thing. Amazed how the bunker was set out. Definitely a must visit stop in Ho Chi Minh city. Oh and did not realise you can enjoy your food and drink on the balcony. It has a nice view.

Broken rice tastes alright! Comes with side dishes (soup and kimchi) Really appreciate the kitchen's cleanliness, they have a separate sink for dirty dishes and cups The bunker has 3 different exits, we have a lovely staff who showed us around. I'm surprised this place is not a tourist attraction due to the historical value. Kudos to the owner who preserved the site well

Coming here is like visiting a friend’s home, with a rich history. Settle in for a simple, home cooked meal of broken rice and pork chop. The iced white coffee is great too. 2 plates of rice and 1 coffee will cost you barely USD4, which is a crazy small amount to pay for not just the food but the experience this little place has to offer. An enthusiastic, young man brought us to different parts of this house - a secret bunker, a hidden passageway and more. Wow. A most unique place to have a meal and absorb some history. Warning - you do need some dexterity to get through some parts!

Good food, secret tunnels, and fun spot to be you can explore the underground tunnel. The location on google maps is incorrect but as long as you say the name some people will guide you to the location. If is just one street down from where Google maps has it at. The bunker is a bit humid so be prepared for that and you can have one of the folks working there (not sure if she was the owner) open up the door for you to enter. You will see a lot of tour guides bring folks here but if you want to do it on your own that is probably a good way to explore yourself. The food was actually really good too so definitely support these folks.
Jacob H — Google review
Went there because I heared about the hidden spots inside the cafe. I had to order a drink first to sit down. That's ok. But i was expecting that the staff is more motivated to show a foreigner around. But i was wrong. They just sat there with their smartphones and just ignored me. I while i was on the way to go upstairs i saw 3 rats running around the kitchen/bathroom.

Cafe
La Fenetre Soleil is a charming venue located on the 2nd floor of an old French building at 44 Ly Tu Trong. As you ascend the creaky wooden steps and approach its frosted glass door, you'll be captivated by its smoky ambience and sweeping curtains visible from the street below. This old-school, colonial-style cafe serves as an artist space and music venue, making it a beloved spot for both travelers and expats in the city.
Great place. Cozy, authentic and well presented. Service was excellent and staff really friendly. Had the Indonesian lunch set which I recommend, so delicious and well presented. Coming back

Great old-school, colonial style Cafe. A nice oasis in the middle of the city. Prices are a little bit higher but this place is a real gem from the past. English menu and nice staff. Highly recommend it!

Nice vintage atmosphere--- black coffee 45k and 50k for milk coffee, it was good but not amazing like others I've tried. After I got the bill, the drink came out to 65 they charged me 15k for fresh milk instead of condensed milk. I've done that at many other cafes and never got charged extra. Not sure about this sneaky extra charge without letting me know.

Charming old French colonial atmosphere with exposed brick and high ceilings. La Fenetre hosts a variety of events and shows from punk to drag to spoken word. Door guy can be a real jerk and the beer prices are high.

Nice place, nice staff and excellent owner! Food is excellent, probably the best Indonesian food you can get in Saigon. They have an excellent selection of western food as well. Recommended for either a cozy lunch or a live music during the weekend or simply a coffee in the afternoon. Enjoy!
Martin V — Google review
Great venue. Good Indonesian food. A bit tricky to find. It is upstairs and the staircase is a few doors along the way past other restaurants. I was looking forward to jazz music but having waited 2 hours for the band to start ony to hear numerous sound checks and then self compositions moving onto rock music decided to call it quits. If they played "Caravan " (per Whiplash and the website) I missed it. Very popular nonetheless, just not my style.
Steve H — Google review
It's a nice place. The live music is usually very good and the place can get quite crowded on Friday night. The atmosphere really depends on which band is playing. There is a wide range of spirit and cocktails.
Jonathan B — Google review
Cool spot with a nice vibe. When I went there was live music so a cover charge, which was kinda lame. Even still, a great space for a few drinks. Not too loud and charming atmosphere.

Cafe
Piscat Coffee Take Away is a charming little spot that offers affordable and well-balanced traditional Vietnamese coffee. The friendly staff adds to the experience, making it a perfect place to grab a cup of their deep, robust coffee sweetened with condensed milk. Customers appreciate the reasonable prices and the opportunity to watch the bartender craft their coffee. Many visitors find themselves returning for more during their stay in District 1, and would recommend this spot to others visiting the area.
Unfortunately we bought our coffee here on our last day in Vietnam, otherwise we would buy it almost everyday during our stay in District 1 LOL. The coffee was good, reasonable price, calm but friendly staff. Very nice watching the bartender making our coffee. Would recommend this place and will definitely come back if we visit this area again in the future!
Irene S — Google review
Traveled to Vietnam for the first time and stopped at this shop to grab a cup of the traditional Vietnamese coffee. The coffee had a deep robust aroma sweetened with condensed milk at a very affordable price. I ended up grabbing another one before I left.
