Cafe
Akha Ama Phrasingh is not just a trendy coffee shop in Chiang Mai, it's a social enterprise with a mission to support the local Akha hill tribe community in Northern Thailand. The coffee collective represents over 20 families from the Maejantai village, aiming to improve their social and economic well-being through sustainable farming practices. Founded by Lee Ayu in 2010, this cozy café has become a favorite spot for students and locals alike.
Order special honey and orange peel cold brew, hot hand drip coffee, coffee jelly and carrot cheese cake, I bought few of drip bag coffee in order to use credit card to pay. Under 500 thai dollars need to pay cash. We loved the orange peel cold brew and hand drip, forgot what single origin beans i chose but its fruity and smooth. We enjoyed sitting up to watch down the coffee bar, like the big U design table, very cool. Definitely recommend people to visit this place.

This cafe offers a cozy and inviting atmosphere, perfect for a quiet break. The rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee immediately shows their commitment to quality. The coffee is excellent, with an impressive selection of single-origin beans from various regions, which are also available for purchase. It's a fantastic place to explore different flavor profiles. The seating is spacious and comfortable, though the second floor, lit by a lovely sunroof, can get a bit warm during sunny periods. Service was prompt and friendly, making for a seamless visit. Overall, this is a standout spot for any coffee lover. With its combination of great drinks, a relaxing environment, and excellent service, I highly recommend it and will definitely be back.
A T — Google review
Enjoyed our coffee experience here with their home grown beans, great service and coffee offerings. The ambiance of the place also stands out with its industrial and brick layered interiors. One of the better options for coffee within the old city.
Franz M — Google review
The bean! The beans! Great beans. Great latte ❤️👌 Also aesthetics on point. Love their pastries too. A little pricey compared to other cafes but its worth every baht. Their Peaberry beans with note of tobacco ❤️❤️❤️ bring bags home.

Hidden gem with amazing coffee and workspace! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This place is truly a hidden gem in Chiang Mai! The building itself is stunning - beautiful design and plenty of workspace that makes it perfect for getting work done or just relaxing with a great cup of coffee. Pro tip: There aren't many electrical outlets available, so make sure your devices are fully charged before settling in for a long session! Now for the most important part - the coffee is absolutely delicious! 🙌 I love that they offer three different bean options (mild, dark, and strong) so you can choose based on your preference. Plus, they cater to different dietary needs with regular milk, soy milk, and oat milk options. Definitely recommend this spot for coffee lovers looking for quality beans and a beautiful atmosphere to work or unwind!
Ken R — Google review
Excellent espresso and pour over. They have a spirit triplette espresso machine and really know how to use it. I got a light roast espresso macchiato, which was excellent, and one of their very single origin drip coffees. I was very happy with both. My partner got an interesting espresso/lime soda drink which I loved as well. It had an almost savory aftertaste that was interesting.
Nikhil H — Google review
Loved the aroma of coffee beans the moment I walked in. Tried both the medium roast latte and strong roast americano — the latte’s my pick since the milk balances the flavour so well. Credit card payments are only accepted for bills over THB500.

Dark roast - flat white - cow milk (hot) = heaven! The balance, Care, Precision They truly take their time, no rush just pure focus into your little cup of heaven I have been here 3 times every single cup is exactly the same. Do yourself a favor and enjoy this pleasure full experience

Cafe
Gateway Coffee Roaster is a prominent player in Chiang Mai's coffee scene, offering a unique experience for coffee enthusiasts. Located on the second floor of a shophouse building on Th Tha Phae, this cafe provides carefully crafted black, white, or brown coffee options. The minimalist interior and spacious loft with wooden details create an ideal setting for reading or working online. In addition to classic coffee drinks, Gateway also offers more unusual offerings like white coffee infused with orange.
Great space, kind of industrial, on the first floor. I almost missed the entrance door. I ordered a double espresso and picked one of their 4 beans. It was great! Tasty and served properly with water on the side. The space is quiet and there were a few people working on their laptops.
Go E — Google review
🪴+☕️=🤎 This little coffee shop in the city center is on the second floor and has the cutest atmosphere! The lighting is lovely, and the decor is super cozy and homey—very warm and inviting. The coffee is delicious, the staff is friendly, and it's a great place to work. They've got wifi, and it’s not too crowded, so it's really peaceful. Highly recommend. The recommended menu item is the brown coffee (latte). I had an iced latte with no sugar, and it was so good—great quality beans with a lovely, slightly sweet aroma but not too sweet in taste. For dessert, I tried the coconut cake. It’s perfectly sweet, with chunks of coconut, and the bread isn’t dry at all. Really tasty! The prices match the quality, and if you like quiet, nice coffee shops that aren’t too trendy, this place is definitely worth a visit! :)
Issaraporn S — Google review
Charm + Great Coffee That’s what you get at Gateway coffee roaster. This place is absolutely fantastic and has all the vibes. It’s located on the second floor, which is easily accessible through the back door. This was my first time here and we absolutely enjoyed this place. The staff was extremely friendly and the coffee was incredible. After having lived in Thailand for 10 years, this is one of the more off the beaten path coffee shops in Chiang Mai and definitely worth a visit
Pierce D — Google review
Had the pleasure of trying the hot V60 HUAYCHOMPHU at Gateway Coffee Roaster in Chiang Mai. The coffee was great, full of flavor, and the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend!
Mohamed K — Google review
I absolutely adore the decor of this place! It’s housed in an old building with a charming wooden facade that blends perfectly with their decorations. The coffee is fantastic too. I tried the Brown, which is their Mocha, and it was delicious. Their other specialty coffees are also superb!
Chanyanat S — Google review
The coffee was superb, featuring interesting combinations in a lovely ambiance, complemented by attentive staff. While the prices are a bit higher, the experience is well worth it. Highly recommend for those seeking a delightful coffee experience with a touch of uniqueness.
Ivan Š — Google review
Located in the second floor of an old corner house. Arrived 5 min early and was asked to wait outside though they have prepared everything. The filter coffee was good but not particular in Chiangmai. The decor is old fashioned and the summer sunlight is bright from many windows and the balcony. You should take care of those waitress’ mood, to avoid someone staring at you vigilantly.
Leo Z — Google review
Nice shop with ample seating. Small selection of beans to choose from. The v60 was really nice, made with beans from Chiang Rai. There's also a balcony which would be nice to sit at, but it was too hot whilst we were there. Staff could've been a bit more engaging, didn't say anything about the coffee other than point at the options available. They were friendly enough. My partner loved the flat white. 4.5/5.

Cafe
Akha Ama Coffee is a must-visit in Chiang Mai, known for its Thai and Vietnamese coffee that strikes the perfect balance between sweetness and bitterness. The city's burgeoning coffee culture has led to an abundance of cafes, particularly in the trendy Nimman area, making it a hotspot for tourists seeking a caffeine fix.
I found this place has a barista who can make best latte in Thai!! Even though it was a hot day in June, I tried hot latter with light roast. The latte even has sweetness from the good process.
HyeonHwa S — Google review
the coffee never disappoints here. the space is cozy with seatings both on first and second floor. would come here and be on my laptop for a few hours. only downside is wifi can be spotty sometimes..

Happy❤️ Famous coffee spot in korean tour sites. Since my stay is very near, I went early morning. New interior with nice coffee and banana muffin. Bit pricey but I think it is worth the visit.

Akha Ama - Thai mountain people "Grandmom" loll...BEAUTIFUL new renovation. I would love to know architect /who designed this buildout! Oh, and the coffee...excellent! top shelf taste and presentation!
Lyle P — Google review
The attention to detail in their coffee is exceptional. They have divine hand crafted coffee cocktails that are delicious and inventive. The store was insanely busy, just proves how good it is. I’ll definitely come back to try the other drinks I missed! If you’re a huge fan of coffee you can’t miss it!
Amanda L — Google review
it’s in a small alley. Recommended by a Thai which she said it’s her favorite cafe, and they serve good coffee as well. Indeed, the Americano is good, and chill on the second floor. Had a quiet time there to work and think.
Gina T — Google review
After arriving in Chiang Mai, I went to the first cafe. The flat white and banana muffin I ordered were not too sweet so I ate them. I like it. When I walk through the narrow alley to get to the cafe, I see an unfamiliar cafe in the alley. Although it is a small cafe, people who like the atmosphere of an old cabin with wooden interior can enjoy the atmosphere and taste of coffee. The flat white had a nice, smooth coffee taste that I hadn't felt in a long time.
B.S. K — Google review
Honestly, Americano was tasteless and boring, I ordered the light roasted beans it should be some interesting flavors but there was nothing, only the taste of bitterness, quite disappointed

Nestled in the vibrant Nimman district, Nine One Coffee Chiang Mai is a delightful retreat for those seeking a peaceful spot to savor exceptional coffee. This charming café prides itself on its specialty brews crafted from organic Thai beans sourced locally. The inviting atmosphere makes it an ideal haven for both coffee enthusiasts and digital nomads looking to work while enjoying delicious offerings.
I tried the coconut coffee and a plain hot latte, and enjoyed both. The two women working were friendly and spoke English. Prices were good. Menu is fairly basic but the coffee is solid. They also sell minimal food (waffles and eggs), coffee beans, and some merchandise. Very cute spot with large windows and natural sunlight. Also has outdoor seating. Free WiFi and a water station for customers. Would return here!
Megan P — Google review
I liked that the coffee was served with a separate carafe for pouring into the cup — most places usually serve filter coffee directly in a single cup. They also offer a wide variety of coffee beans to choose from. However, the beans I selected were a bit too bitter for my taste. Unfortunately, they don't accept credit cards, which was inconvenient.
Nikita — Google review
Super chilled out coffeeshop that is open early (7 AM). Flat white is perfectly done and the dirty coffee is good for something sweeter. Calamansi juice is great for non-coffee drinkers.
Nick T — Google review
We stumbled upon this cafe for breakfast and it was so good! We got a cappuccino with oat milk and a coconut iced Americano. They have limited selection of food, but what they had was really delicious (waffle with fruit, and fried eggs with ham/sausage).
Juliana — Google review
This cute little coffee shops is based in a little quiet side street making it the perfect place to enjoy a chilled out coffee. There is also a small food menu, which I can confirm is prepared with love, is delicious, and beautifully presented. Coffee was amazing, and there are milk alternatives available here.
Joanna L — Google review
Great coffee! They are open early too. It was the perfect place for an early riser. The staff were great and I loved my honey latte.
Alex — Google review
The Nine-One mocha is my favorite drink ever, but other coffee is good too. Not a lot of options for the sweet or breakfast. The shop has a nice ambiance and the staff is friendly, also good service. My favorite seat is outside, it's always calm and quiet. It always has a black cat just jumped out of nowhere when I sat there sometimes. It's happened quite often actually. I guess he/she came from a different side of the wall. Cute but weird.
Cozy ( — Google review
This is among my favourite cafés in Chiang Mai since so many years before Covid! We are so lucky this has survived and grown despite Covid. Staff is super helpful and a huge asset to this place. This is very well done place and have a wonderful indoor air conditioned area as well as outdoor seating as per preference. I love both but with winters it is so good to sit in partial shade and be able to work and concentrate. Food is awesome - strongly recommended is the package with one food item and coffee or drink to go with. I love their pan fried omelette and hot as well as iced americanos both are awesome. Most awesome ie staff and atmosphere here. Best of wishes my friends at nine one coffee

Coffee roasters
Ponganes Coffee Roasters is a serious coffee spot in the heart of Chiang Mai's Old City. The focus here is on roasting, grinding, and brewing, with minimal seating available as the intention is to be more of a coffee bar than a traditional coffee shop. Founder Pi Pong, who gained his coffee expertise in Melbourne, has brought his passion for specialty coffee to this original roastery in Chiang Mai.
This was our favorite coffee place we tried in Thailand (and rivals the best coffees I’ve had all over the world)! The chiang mai blend over ice was so flavorful and I was easily able to get all the notes of the coffee. The owner was super nice as well— he gave us his last bag of chiang mai beans that he was keeping to age when we wanted to purchase the beans. He also gave us recommendations for a beautiful hike and local food favorites. I will definitely be making another stop next time I’m in chiangmai!
Aileen C — Google review
This roaster came for the first time. Looking at the score of 4.4, it belongs to the middle and lower coffee roaster. But generally speaking, the coffee of the roaster is not too bad. Unless there is a human error on the day. I tried the blended beans. The name is Ocean blend which is recommended from the coffee shop Light roasted A cup of 90 baht, blended beans, is also not cheap in Chiang Mai. The overall acidity is good, but the bitter taste destroys the overall acidity balance. But it is also an understandable style. As far as this price is concerned You can't give full marks, but it's also a high score.
Vincent N — Google review
If you like coffee, try this place. Basic coffee menus, done very well. They are a roaster as well, so beans are available for purchase. Its a grab and go place with outdoor bench seating.
Kwan J — Google review
The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, perfect for both work and relaxation. The coffee selection is outstanding, with a variety of high-quality beans roasted on-site. Each cup is a testament to their dedication to the craft, delivering rich, aromatic flavors that truly stand out. If you appreciate artisanal coffee and a warm, welcoming environment, this is the place to be.
Nathan M — Google review
We taken ice black it was awesome with Thailand beans it was really tasty 🙏🏼👍🏼 8.5/10 The second option was ice latte it was average 6.5/10 Good spot near to the old town with friendly staff welcoming you Thank you 🙏🏼
Abdulaziz R — Google review
I came here looking for a place to work but there’s a discrete sign at the cash register that prohibits working from laptops or bringing in outside drinks/food. The place doesn’t have a lot of atmosphere it’s more of a grab and go kind of establishment. There’s some seating but it seems geared around it bean roasting and selling business. A hot latte costs 75 baht. #BeatTheGrind
Andrew S — Google review
Very small place, basically is a counter where you can order specialty’s coffee fresh brew and variety of coffee beans. This place only offers takeaway order and you can get good espresso shot.
Joe Y — Google review
Barista looks a bit blunt, but his coffee skill is guaranteed. Dealing with different types of bean and he will recommend rely on taste.

Nestled near Suan Dok Gate, Thor-Phan Coffee Roaster is a charming café that stands out in the bustling old town of Chiang Mai. This cozy spot boasts an inviting atmosphere with its exposed brick walls and shelves brimming with coffee beans for sale. Known for their expertly crafted beverages, the café offers a delightful selection of strong coffees, including beautifully presented flat whites that deliver a rich flavor profile with just the right hint of bitterness.
Good filtered coffee, great quality espresso based coffee, all the tasting notes mentioned were spot on. It is just the chair , not that good for my back if its a long time sitting. But overall very awesome place to get your daily specialty coffee that is roasted by their own in the same place!
Van T — Google review
I can picky when it comes to my coffee, and this place is one of the best! The espresso pulls are really smooth and not bitter. The coffee shop is simple but nice and chilled with two AC units. Combined with a few games it has, it’s a wonderful place for a coffee break.

I had a flat white and it was one of the best ones I ever had, including in Europe! My partner enjoyed her cappuccino which was also on point. These guys really know what they are doing, I cannot recommend this roaster enough, absolutely amazing!

This is the coffee spot in Chiang Mai. The cappuccino was smooth and delicious. Please have try. I also got an iced Thai style coffee to go. Less sweet is just right.

I enjoyed delicious coffee served by the owner. They roast their own, and have created a little oasis

I came in for a morning coffee and was very impressed. The americano was very good and the coffee beans were very good and fresh. The place is nicely set up and decorated and the service was great. Prices are pretty reasonable. Although it’s a little small it was nice. They also serve some homemade baked goods which looked pretty tasty.

Coffee shop
Artisan Café, located in Haiya Sub-district just south of the Old City in Chiang Mai, is a visually stunning and stylish café that attracts both locals and expats. The spacious establishment is adorned with plants, quirky light fixtures, and indoor murals, creating a decidedly hipster atmosphere. It's a popular spot for those looking to work, study, or simply relax with friends over great food and drinks.
My husband and I came here many times during our stay in CM. This place is perfect for breakfast. Great coffee, great Bagel, great environment and the owner and staff are all very friendly. If we come back to CM will definitely visit again 🙏
Jade C — Google review
Another good coffee shop to try in Chiang Mai. Their coffee is good and made very well. They have good desserts, a couple of different cookies and some croissants. We chose one of each. The one near old town has a bit more seating than the one near Nimman, which is why we chose this location. This coffee shop has a bit more choices than some of the other coffee shops we have rated. This is probably our second favorite shop in Chiang Mai. Highly recommended.
Mark P — Google review
I visited because Google reviews are good, and I thought the seats would be very comfortable. I visited around 1 o'clock and had lots of customers, but I was able to sit in a comfortable sofa seat. The atmosphere of the cafe is nice, the staff are friendly, and the coffee is delicious. The air conditioner temperature is also appropriate, so it was comfortable and not cold during the stay. You can park left side next to the cafe and the toilet is also inside the cafe, so it's easy to go. The sofa seat was as comfortable as I expected.
지영 — Google review
A nice modern cafe with a few good tables. I tried hot cappuccino and it was good. The vibe is pretty relaxing and it’s nice to sit in this AC space and get relaxed for a bit.
Ak — Google review
Coffe was aromatic and tasty , I liked the atmosphere and furniture choosing. Staff ere nice. Food menu is limited though.
Noam L — Google review
I went to this café because the reviews seemed decent. There were only a few customers—just 2 or 3 tables occupied. I ordered the most expensive set meal on the menu, priced at 249 baht. Personally, I feel it’s overpriced for the portion size, quality, and the location. It really shouldn’t cost that much. I brought my laptop to do some work, but I’m not sure if it was the owner or the owner’s friends—everyone there seemed to know each other. They were talking very loudly, and the topics of conversation were quite inappropriate for a public space. I think this will be my first and last visit to this café.
Nathamon W — Google review
Very cool and relaxed coffee shop. Very stylish throughout 👌🏻 Staff are friendly and professional. The coffee is excellent. A real gem in the coffee capital of the world, Chiang Mai.
Will W — Google review
The name says it all. It's a beautiful artisan cafe that serves delicious coffee and food. The coffee is very reasonably priced and delicious. The staff are great and keep the shop pristine as guests come throughout the day. The interior is one of my favorites because it's filled with antiques from all over. They have free WiFi and plenty of seating for groups too. I found that there's a good mix of local Thai and travelers from the hostel that's attached. It really is a great place to hangout and wait out the heat of the day.

Maled Coffee Roasters, a gem in Chiang Mai's coffee scene, is celebrated for its exceptional roasting techniques and commitment to highlighting the natural flavors of their beans. Under the guidance of owner Fuu Kao Paanratee, this roastery sources high-quality green coffee from Northern Thailand, resulting in sweet and complex brews that have earned accolades at local competitions.
The best, smoothest Oat Milk Capuccino I have ever had.

So many varieties of beans to choose from! I went with the Baristas recommendation as I found it hard to decide! The place smells amazing as soon as you walk in. Lots of seating available with decent music playing. Coffee was good, would be keen to return to try some more. The only thing I'd change is, when ordering a v60 I prefer it to be served in the original glass, with a smaller cup on the side. But this is me being picky.
Lewis G — Google review
Coffee Lover must visit this nice cafe. Their coffee quality and taste are really good. Note that please tell them clearly about your order whether hot or ice coffee. I ordered hot coffee but I got ice coffee for the first time visiting. The staff service is excellent and friendly. I am probably realized that most people like the cold coffee rather than hot coffee in Chiang Mai.

Good coffee! I had Americano. 🍒❤️💚

A lovely coffee shop for tea time. I ordered brownies, chocolate cookie cake and lemon Madeleine. The dessert are delicious but feel too sweet for the kid. Also tried affogato under this hot weather. Ordered hot black for my dad and he really enjoyed the coffee. The place is not in the city so the atmosphere is comfortable as not too crowded. I highly recommend the place if you are looking for a place spending longer time.

I tried flat white and dirty for the drinks. Flat white is great, but the dirty feels too much milk and you can not really taste the coffees. I was recommended to try their blue berry crumble cheese cake, but it was not good sadly. The AC room is workable if it’s not crowded.

Coffee is good. Specialty coffee shop where you can pick different types of beans. Blueberry crumble cheesecake is okay. Not so excellent.

Fahtara Coffee is a hidden gem in Chiang Mai's Old City, exuding a tranquil Northern Thai-style ambiance. Tucked away amidst the bustling city, the cafe welcomes visitors with its cozy wood interior and lush greenery. Guests can enjoy iced coffee under the shade of trees while observing waterwheels filtering a small stream, creating a serene atmosphere.
Lovely bit out the back for a coffee, the wooden seats are lovely, the concrete ones need a cushion. The water wheel and running water creates a plesent atmosphere. Breakfast bowl and wrap were both lovely. 500thb minimum for card payment.

I really enjoyed this restaurant! The place is clean and nicely decorated, creating a comfortable atmosphere to eat and relax. They offer a wide variety of dishes, so there’s something for everyone. I especially loved the Thai tea — it was perfectly balanced, not too sweet, just the way I like it.

So glad we found this place — it’s our second year coming here whenever we visit Chiang Mai! The coffee is excellent — strong, smooth, and perfectly balanced (I’m quite picky about coffee, and this one really impressed me!). The honey toast was to die for — crispy, tasty, and consistently great both times we visited. The relaxing atmosphere with the water mill adds such a lovely touch. A must-visit spot for coffee and dessert lovers!

Nice and chill environment albeit a lot of mozzies. Had the pesto pasta and the egg Benedict. Pasta was nicer, egg Benedict was like any others.

What a stunningly beautiful place! I couldn't believe how quiet it was when I was there. So so beautiful. I had the lemon espresso drink for 100bht (roughly 2.5 euro) definitely worth it for such a luxurious and refreshing drink. Food was absolutely delicious. Spicy so if you don't like that definitely ask for mild! Staff were so friendly and welcoming. Lovely extra touches aswell such as mosquito repellent at the outside tables.

Best in chiangmai. Drinks are nice, there is a waterwheel inside, and some walkway near their massage area. The cafe you shouldnt miss when in chiangmai. Love it.

A lovely caffé with a nice view and great outdoor seating. The smoothies are really big. I had the tofu salad with extra tofu, and it was delicious. I enjoyed it so much! The service was perfect. It’s a bit pricey, but they have a lot of variety. Recommended!

Nestled in the Santitham area of Chiang Mai, Khagee is a charming coffee shop that offers a taste of traditional Thai coffee culture. The vintage and minimalist decor creates a welcoming environment where friendly staff serve up authentic Thai coffee drinks and light snacks. Situated by the Ping River, this cozy cafe provides picturesque backgrounds for enjoying creative brews.
Scone is very delicious, it’s not too sweet and not much butter. Iced latte was good. It’s compatible with scone. The baguette is very famous for this cafe. I ordered one for takeaway. It’s very delicious and it has flavor of natural yeast.
Muanphan K — Google review
Khagee Cafe is a hidden gem in Chiang Mai. Their carrot cake is the best I’ve ever had – moist, flavorful, and just perfect. The bagels and canelé are also top-notch, and the coffee is consistently smooth and well-balanced. A must-visit for anyone who loves quality pastries and a calm, cozy vibe.
Natasha — Google review
A lovely spot in Chiang Mai. The atmosphere inside is calm and cozy—. Their pastries are delicious, especially the carrot cake (highly recommend!). Coffee is well made, and the hot chocolate/cocoa is rich and tasty. The whipped cream is a bit dense, but if you like it creamy, you’ll love it 100%! The only downside is there’s no dedicated parking, so you’ll have to park along the street. On rainy days, getting in can be a bit messy. But once inside, the warm smiles and kind service from the staff make you forget the hassle right away.

Love green tea, love latte, love this cafe! 💕 The cafe is usually crowded, but around 3-4 PM, it becomes a cozy place. I want to come back many times!

I came to this place because I had heard good things about their scones. The scone was good, though a little cakier than I prefer, as I tend to like a heavier buttery scone. The matcha was excellent though … really smooth and flavorful. Love it! Definitely recommended.

Good coffee with reasonable price. I’ve been here thanks to a local’s recommendation and I am more than happy with their drinks. Don’t forget to have scone with your drink! It’s awesome.

During my recent adventure in Chiang Mai, I stumbled upon a hidden gem that quickly became one of my favorite spots: Cottontree Coffee Roasters. Nestled within a local apartment complex, this charming café is a testament to the thriving specialty coffee scene in Thailand. Established in 2015, Cottontree caters to both locals and visitors with its impressive selection of Thai-grown and imported beans, focusing on light roasts that are characteristic of the third wave coffee movement.
Good coffee, they have cold brew, Thai iced tea not too sweet. Scone is a bit too dry for me.

🍃This cosy coffee shop, tucked away in the sports centre near Maya Mall, serves freshly brewed coffee. They offer a selection of local coffee blends. 💓The friendly staff, cozy space, and free Wi-Fi make it a great place to relax. They also have a clean-out house available.

Cute little place just off the main road next to a badminton center. Drinks were good and the cakes on display looked really good. Friendly staff. Edit: I've been back a few times since. The smoothie bowl has gotten much better and the scrambled eggs were good.

Quaint little place just at the back of Hotel Mayu near a badminton centre. Presumably for the parents to wait after they drop their kids off for a badminton session... The coffee was really lovely, the food is also nice as well. If you live nearby in one of the hotels or u are coming to Mayu mall and looking for some coffee or brunch food then i think its definately worth the short walk over to get some coffee

Another peaceful cafe with good coffee and dessert. The smoothie bowl was cool and could be better with more crunchy granola or cacao nibs. Hot flat white was delicious with moderate price of 70 Baht. The banoffee pie was delicious; it's a big one. You should probably go with someone to finish it.
Napanuth ( — Google review
Very good coffee! If you are a coffee fan, you should definitely visit. They are experts about it. Don’t miss the banana pie, the best I have ever had. It comes warm and it is delicious. The place is very quiet, which is great if you need to concentrate to work, because it is far from the street, a little hidden. But in the morning you might find it a little crowded.

Welcomed by coffee aroma as soon as we opened the door. Nice place for a chat with friends over coffee and cake. We had two cappucinos, a tiramisu, and an Earl Grey with lemon cake, which comes with lemon sauce. All lovely. (Total - 380 baht)

Bannok Coffee Roasters is not just a place for great coffee, it's an experience. The cafe, owned by Neng, is known for its back-to-basics concept and the famous Bannok coffee brand. Situated by a river with outdoor seating, it offers a unique ambiance where you can relax and enjoy nature. Despite the limited service, visitors appreciate the generous portions and vegan options like oat milk for lattes or Thai milk teas.
This riverside café is a perfect spot for anyone seeking a peaceful and refreshing escape. Surrounded by lush greenery, the atmosphere is serene and relaxing, with the gentle sound of water adding to the charm. The coffee here is delightful, with a unique, bold taste that stays true to a traditional Thai style. It has a raw, authentic flavor that coffee enthusiasts will appreciate. The balance of quality and local character truly sets it apart. Whether you’re looking to unwind, catch up with friends, or simply enjoy a cup of coffee with a view, this place is worth visiting. Highly recommended! Let me know if you’d like to tweak it further!

We visited on a week day, having cycled a short distance from our accommodation. I really loved this place. Back in the UK this would be a smash hit. And you'd pay double at least for the privilege! Staff were so nice, warm and welcoming, showing attention to detail and information requested from my order. Such a beautiful setting right by the river side, with ample outside seating and a lovely surrounding. The coffee was beautiful (I tried the Lychee Pour over, and an espresso chaser!) and we even stopped by again for a Leo beer when I experienced a puncture later that day. We will take some beans home for sure.

Only had a vanilla latte and two Italian sodas but they were good. However, the atmosphere stole the show. Set in the start of the hills along a stream it is both tranquil and fun. It has a place for kids to play and has numerous interesting feature. Definitely a good place to take the family or go just by yourself.

This is my favorite Hong Dong Coffee shop. However, today Thursday June 12 at 3-5pm we had bad service from a single barista woman. She confused my drink at made it incorrectly. As usual I always buy coffee for take away. Once again this woman made a big mental error. She FINE ground 2 X 500 gram bags of beans when we specifically pointed at the chart and said we would like “course” cut beans for our French Press at home. Very disappointed in this woman barista who was working alone today. Too many errors in 1 simple transaction. Management please assist with some corrective training for this woman. We will return again to this shop and we will be hopeful for a return in good service.

Our 2nd trip here 😊 From the main road it looks like an abandoned factory so we were not sure if they were open 😅 It's a rather large cafe with an in house roastery for their coffee beans. There is a large coffee plant nursery to the far left of the building. Many sections within the indoor area and another outdoor area covered by large bamboo clusters. I like this area as the river flows behind the cafe. A koi pool is at the outdoor area and the toilets are near here. Lots of bean varieties . Small menu concept . Coffee was very good. Very good hangout spot too. Parking : Within compound

CoolMuang Coffee is a charming café located in the old town of Chiang Mai, just a few meters away from the city gate Pratu Tha Phae. The staff is known for being very friendly and the coffee is of high quality. The café offers plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, including a terrace with a view of the old city wall. Additionally, they provide parking for visitors, which can be hard to find in this area.
CoolMuang is probably on of the best cafes of Chiang Mai. The coffee is great, the food is fresh and well spiced. The location and interior is wonderful. You can stay here for some hours, despite its very central location and just enjoy the day and your company. Nothing is outstandingly wowing, but everything is good.

Ministry of Roasters-Chiang Mai กระทรวงการคั่ว เขตเชียงใหม่ is a futuristic and stylish coffee shop in Chiang Mai, offering a modern sci-fi ambiance. The cafe features a stunning large space with an innovative design, including a ceiling that depicts the coffee roasting process.
This café is located right by the roadside in the Old Quarter, and the design — from the exterior to the interior — is truly impressive. The coffee is excellent, with a good selection of slow bar brews and specialty coffee options. The carrot cake was delicious, just the right amount of sweetness. The space is well thought out, with seating available in front of the shop, inside, and in a sunny backyard area. The restroom is clean and odor-free, which we really appreciated. Staff are enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about specialty coffee.

We’ve been spoiled in Thailand for good coffee but this is the *best* cold brew I’ve ever had (and one of the cheapest!). In Dublin I would regularly spend 150 baht or more for a coffee that wouldn’t come close to how good this was. Staff are fantastic, there’s free coffee tasters available as a welcome drink and the design could be something from Copenhagen. A beautiful cafe to spend some time.

Our next coffee stop : Ministry of Roasters. Such a superb in-store experience! They even have a whole education wall about aromas that you can take your time to explore. We ordered two cups: Palad and Palad’s Wife (different blends, different beans). Really enjoyed both, each had a distinct flavour profile, and you can truly taste the character of the beans. Plus, the milk texture was just perfect. Definitely will be back for more! ☕✨

Today I had the best and I mean the very best flat white I have ever had...those vanilla and whiskey tones will stay stuck in my memory for a very long time! They also have a great range of merchandise, ranging from posters to cool as t-shirts to coffee tumblers and cupping spoons! Awesome friendly service from the team as well, they know their stuff. GRAPH ground is a trendy coffee shop located on Sirimangkalajarn Road, boasting a modern design and a welcoming atmosphere. The establishment offers an impressive selection of both coffee and non-coffee beverages, with innovative options such as the MAGMA, which combines espresso with avocado and almond milk. Customers appreciate the variety of flavors available for sampling. The space itself is well-lit and features friendly staff, making it a recommended spot for visitors to Chiangmai.
Talk about Nimman Rd being wonderful for clothes, massages and especially coffee. We found this cute coffee specialist (see their flyer). My guests drank a lemon ginger soda kind of spritz while I went for an iced long black. The coffee was their standard and it was great. They also roast and grind their own coffee. The manager was very friendly.

The coffee here is exceptional! Fun and delicious. The magma was our favorite. Smooth, strong, creamy. The demon and Elwood were both fun drinks that had a cocktail feel. We loved the experience here. Next time we are in Chiang Mai we will definitely be back 🤩 This shop has inspired us to do more with the coffee we make when we get back home 🫶

Exceptional. Clearly so much thought and soul has gone into every aspect of this place. What set it apart for us though was the complete absence of pretense (both staff and clientele) one often finds at higher end coffee shops, particularly in the nimman area. The feeling is craftsman, not hipster - soulful, not hiso. Nevertheless the design and aesthetic generally is top shelf, with a relaxing color palate and a warm modern farmhouse meets cold modern industrial yin/yang vibe. Staff is kind, welcoming, gentle and deeply absorbed in their work. The care and focus they put into each drink was obvious in both presentation and taste. There is a roasting / cupping area you can view from the cafe if you want to see the process it takes to serve such tasty coffee. Thanks so much for having us, we love coffee shops and this was a special experience.

Enjoy checking out different graph stores. Generally the price point is higher. Additional 30 baht to choose your beans too… Drinks Rating: • matcha latte 3 out of 5 stars • americano 4 out of 5 stars Total cost: ~265 baht The matcha is supposed to be UJI matcha from Japan. The milk was overpowering and the matcha was underwhelming. Can find better tasting matcha elsewhere! Conclusion: come for coffee, not matcha 🙌🏼
Tab — Google review
Pricey but unique and delicious coffee. Recommend: Sompetch and Overland (did not disappoint and left us wanting more. Our absolute favourite was the Sompetch). DON’T Recommend: Greenland and Woodland (they’re nice but not worth the price and are really just desserts in drink form and you can get much better desserts and drinks like this elsewhere for a fraction of the cost). If I’m not mistaken there are 4 locations around Chiang Mai (we went to 3 locations) so check what is closest to you and you may want to try other locations if one has run out of the flavour you want.

This famous coffee shop Because the price is more than twice as high as others, I have never been here. I came to try the American restaurant of this restaurant today. Medium and light baking Let's see where the coffee in the big store is. I have to say Americano is the best at showing his strength. This store is really good. It can be 90 points. Rich with a little fruity fragrance There is a sense of hierarchy in the acid. But 100 Balt for a cup This level of American style It's not cost-effective in Chiang Mai.

Doi Chaang Coffee takes its name from the Doi Chaang village, nestled in the mountains of Chiang Rai, renowned for producing premium arabica coffee. The coffee house offers a relaxed and elegant ambiance, attracting seasoned baristas with its well-balanced flavors. With free WiFi and an upstairs meeting room, it's a great spot to unwind. Located away from the bustling downtown area, this cafe serves fragrant and delicious coffee while providing excellent customer service.

Ristr8to Original is a prominent player in Chiang Mai's coffee scene, having been one of the early modern establishments to emerge in the city. With multiple locations, including one in the popular Nimmanhaemin neighborhood, it has become a go-to spot for locals and expats alike. The cafe is often bustling with activity, attracting patrons for meetings and study sessions. Despite its popularity, finding seating is usually not an issue due to its ample indoor space and street-facing terrace.
This has been my go-to coffee shop in the Nimman area for well over a decade, back when it was one of the few quality roasters in town. These days, Chiang Mai has more good cafés than you can poke a stick at, but an honourable mention goes to the fact that they haven’t changed their menu or prices since I first came here. That said, on my most recent visit, my flat white was a bit blander and milkier than it should’ve been. I believe that was just a one-off, though, and I’m keeping the 5 stars for now.

Very good coffee here, variety of coffee 👍🏻 Staff without fake smile but helpful & friendly 💯 We visited two times in three days 😆

Not your average coffeehouse - one of the best coffee experiences I’ve ever had in my life. Unique, intentional, and so well executed. Bravo to the entire team. Also bought a t-shirt!

Great tasting coffee! This was a must try on our visit to Chiang Mai and was definitely worth it. We ordered the iced Ristr8to, Mugaccino, & Black Zest. All 10/10. My friend and I bought shirts but were a little disappointed that the only inventory available was what was on the wall as you can see in my video. Other than that, great visit!

Hands down the best coffee in Chiang Mai and Thailand! Worth a visit if you’re wanting a great coffee and place to chill. 10/10 would recommend.

If you want a good cup of coffee, THIS place is the one you want to visit. The coffee, the lattee art and the food are just mind blowing.

I was a little reluctant to go here because they won an international award for their artistry. The artistry was pretty amazing and the coffee was amazing also. I highly recommend dropping by and grabbing a cup of coffee. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I returned and again enjoyed the coffee and the staff. Still amazing cup of coffee and great staff. Update: We keep coming back. This is our coffee spot and we have been coming here for several years, now. Things have not changed and the coffee is still my favorite. Highly recommended.

Nestled in Chiang Mai's Old City, Fern Forest Cafe is a charming and picturesque spot with garden seating that offers a delightful dining experience. The cafe is renowned for its all-day breakfast featuring both Western classics and Thai dishes, as well as appetizers, sandwiches, salads, pasta, and lasagna. The lush greenery of the outdoor space creates a jungle-like ambiance that adds to the cafe's allure.
Fern Forest Cafe is a charming hidden gem located in a quieter part of town. The atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing, perfect for escaping the crowds. The food is absolutely delicious—beautifully presented and full of flavor. A lovely spot to enjoy a slow meal or coffee surrounded by nature.

Going here has been on my list since day 1 of coming to Chiang Mai and so excited to be able to go. The ambiance was better than I saw on pictures and the same goes for the food. Brunch was enjoyable and their coconut cream pie is worth coming back to.

Comfortable seating with an attractive setting, offering both garden areas and air-conditioned rooms. The garden is beautifully maintained, and the restrooms are kept impeccably clean. The price and portion of the food are reasonable and well-matched to the cost. Highly recommended. 9/9/2025

Magical forest oasis with incredible homemade treats! Stepping into Fern Forest Cafe feels like being transported to an enchanting forest oasis that perfectly blends nature with the warmth of a home-cooked bakery. The atmosphere instantly reminds you of your favorite grandmother's kitchen, where every recipe is crafted with love and care. Everything on the menu is absolutely amazing, but I have to give a special shout-out to their Apple Pie – it's simply beyond incredible! The flavors are perfectly balanced, and you can taste the quality in every bite. Pro tip: Come hungry and leave plenty of room for dessert—actually, make that room for THREE desserts! Trust me, you'll want to try more than one of their incredible treats. This hidden gem in Chiang Mai is a must-visit for anyone looking for exceptional baked goods in a truly magical setting. Can't wait to return!

This place was gorgeous! Very peaceful atmosphere and wonderful food. I had a great chicken pesto basil bagel sandwich with a virgin mojito. And then an amazing apple pie. Probably the best dessert I’ve had in Thialand! I had a cinnamon dolce latte and wow! What a just fantastic experience.

Chatgpt suggested this since near my hotel. First day in Chiang Mai and ny first meal. Good lord-it did not disappoint. The spinach was really a must-try. As a coffee lover, the caramel latte taste was well-balanced. Never had it so good like this. Thank you!!

The café is spacious and beautifully designed, with a pleasant green garden area and indoor seating as well. The tiramisu was delicious, though a bit too creamy for my taste. The latte was okay. Service was fast and friendly with smiling staff. They offer a variety of desserts. The restroom was relatively clean despite the large crowd. We visited on a Sunday, and the place was packed with tourists. Conveniently located in the Old town.

Saw it in Instagram photos expecting an amazing place. I thought it was cute but a little run down. Desserts were good but lot of selection missing. Some waitresses cou have been nicer when directing to the tables. Outside seating was okay but definitely could have nice tables and seating and lighting. The fish feeding is a nice touch for people to participate in. Prices are little expensive but it is for tourists.

Free Bird Cafe is a vibrant and socially conscious eatery located in Chiang Mai. Since its establishment in 2009, the cafe has been dedicated to supporting language and art learning centers for refugees from Burma at the Thai Freedom House. The menu offers a unique fusion of Thai, western, and Burmese cuisine, all 100% vegan.
The Thai chickpea flour omelette is delicious 🤤 The thrift store is full of options (clothes, books, household items, etc.) Lots of seating options "inside" and out. Good, chill music and vibes. Yes, prices are a bit higher than elsewhere, but it's going to support living wages for staff as well as (displaced) people in need/refugees, etc. Hopefully they will accept card payments in the future, but for now it's cash or Thai bank transfer only to my knowledge.

Great cafe with a great mission. We shared a pennywort salad, which was very nice, and a fritter dish. I also liked the peanut butter chili noodles. My son enjoyed the vegan grilled cheese. Lots of people socializing during our visit and there is a mix of inside and outside seating. Small play area for kids and some games available. Good wifi. Nice place to grab a vegetarian meal. Would love to eat here again!
Brian J — Google review
We visited in October 2025 as a couple. The place has good vegetarian, gluten-free, and non-spicy food options. The price is decent for the quality and quantity offered. The service can be improved as we have to order and pay at counter, but the ambience is charming. Its located on a main street, and so there is easy access to taxi and parking. There are also games to play in indoor sitting area and shop to buy near the cash counter. It is a romantic family-friendly and cat-friendly place to eat authentic Thai food.
Kushal A — Google review
We had a disappointing dinner there recently. We ordered the lentil soup, chickpea curry, a potato appetizer, a roti, and rice. The potato dish was not bad, and was the best value as the portion size was reasonable. Unfortunatly, the rest of the food was not good. We did not enjoy the flavors at all. We rated the food low because the portion size was very small, and the cost was much higher than what we pay for larger portions of better food elsewhere in Chiang Mai.

One of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to! The food was incredible and catered to my and my wife’s dietary needs. The restaurant and food told a story so not only was the food delicious, but it was also a great leaning experience. The staff was so kind and took good care of us. We were so full after eating!! Great sized portions and so many yummy choices. We will definitely be back when we return to Chiang Mai!

I loved this cafe! The staff is super friendly and nice, the environment is very cozy and comfortable, and the food is delicious!! I totally recommend the Rainbow Pad Thai - so far, it's the best pad thai I've ever eaten. It's so good! I also recommend the Energy Burst (a smoothie made with mango, lime, banana, and pineapple!) - it's delicious and refreshing! Not only is the food good but also very beautiful! They really put an effort in delivering the best service! And they offer both breakfast and lunch options! The cafe also has a little book in each table where you can write and see what other people have written, creating a sense of community. And they also have a thrift shop where you can buy products and souvenirs! I got myself a straw cleaner. The cafe is also work-friendly. Their tables are large and are great to work on a laptop or take notes in a notebook. Even though not all tables have power outlets, it's fine because you can leave your computer charging where there's an outlet while you eat and appreciate the food! They also offer outdoor seating where you can lie down. I haven't tried it myself yet, but it seems very comfortable! I'll definitely check those seats when I come back! I had a great experience at this cafe, and it's one of my favorite cafes in Thailand. I would totally recommend visiting, trying their delicious food and drinks, and enjoying the cozy environment!

I am vegetarian and my wife has celiacs, and it was nice to eat at a place where we could both trust that we wouldn’t get sick from the food. The food was wholesome, healthy, and delicious. It was also nice to read about their mission and know that by eating delicious food we were also supporting a humanitarian and eco friendly cause. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable.

Free Bird Cafe is a landmark for expats and tourists alike here in Chiang Mai and has been for many years now. If I said ALL of the positive things that I would like to say about Free Bird you would be reading something akin to War and Peace! In a nutshell, the food is healthy and fabulous - And I am not a poster child of healthy food! The wait staff are friendly, helpful and efficient... and you will enjoy heaps of beautiful Burmese smiles from the moment you walk through the gate. The atmosphere is retro Thai/Burmese "Summer of Love" hippie... so get ready to relax and enjoy the complete Free Bird experience! And DO NOT FORGET to visit the "pre loved clothing" area inside the shop! I can't tell you how much of my favorite clothing and boots and shoes that are in my closet came from Free Bird! And if you want to clean out your own closet before you go, please do! The items sold/purchased there help keep the Burmese refugee lifeline Free Bird runs ongoing❤️💕! And lastly please note that during The Thai " high season" Free Bird also has an "Open 🎤🎙️ mic" on Friday night. Enjoy some talented locals as well as tourists who are singers 🎶, stand up comedy, musicians 🎵🎶, poetry and dancers!! (High Season: November through April) Hope to see you soon at this!💕

Nestled in the heart of Chiang Mai, My Secret Cafe In Town is a hidden gem offering a peaceful retreat from the bustling streets. The cafe boasts a cozy interior with wooden furniture and a relaxed atmosphere. While it may not be the best choice for vegan options, it's known for its delectable vegan lemon poppy seed cake and refreshing drinks. Visitors can enjoy live music on Tuesday nights and savor local beer, Chiang Mai Weizen.
Lovely, comfortable cafe with delicious food and free wifi. I've tried the noodle salad, club sandwich and curry noodles - they are all tasty. The lime mint slushy is super refreshing. The carrot cake is yummy.

Great for a coffee and cake with your laptop. Not great for brunch if you are hungry. The veggie nut sandwich was tiny and expensive. It was very tasty though. Service was great and fast. Big tables, huge windows, perfect for working.

Simple, rustic designed cafe. We took a pit stop here to refuel before continuing our walking journey. Food and drinks were ok, typical cafe items.

Food 10/10 My only complaint is the watered down, honey/maple syrup thing that as a Canadian I cannot live with compared to real syrup - but we aren’t in Canada so what can I expect and the waffles were fantastic. Coffee 10/10 I’m told it’s very good. Thai Tea 10/10 BEST THAI TEA I HAVE TRIED IN CHIANG MAI! Service 10/10 Friendly and quite as is typical here, average speed and attention. Zero complaints. Location & Atmosphere 11/10 Reasonable prices for some western quality and feel.

Stopped in for a simple Thai tea w/ milk. Hipster ambiance and decoration. Comfortable seating, and air conditioning. The restrooms were quite clean as well. The only negative I’ve noticed here across several visits is the behavior of other foreign clientele, but that’s not something to blame the business for.

There aren't many places that I just want to sit in all day - My Secret Cafe in Town was one of those rare spaces. The music is comforting. The tables and chairs are comfortable. There are enough plugs around the cafe to suitably work out of if you're a digital nomad. Coffee was a 8.5/10. Food was a 9/10. Service staff was attentive, efficient and friendly. Not all spoke very fluent English but those who could stepped up almost immediately. My husband and I got here at 11am to start our work day and stayed till 8pm. We just didn't want to leave! It was cosy and they had fairly reliable WiFi (at one point, the cafe was full, so the WiFi speed did drop considerably, but came back up soon after). We got in for brunch. Their bruschetta is delicious. I built my toastie and it was perfectly made. We had their passion cake (dairy and gluten free), not a favourite for me but my husband inhaled it. We had good coffee. Not the best we have had in Chiang Mai but definitely one of the better spots. We had their bread and olive oil for an evening snack - their baguette of choice is spot on. A good selection of beer, and liquor for a sundowner and 2 different house wines (red or white). For dinner, we had their homemade curry noodle. I got mine with chicken. IT WAS SO GOOD. I inhaled it. Bathrooms are great. I will 1000% be back!

Nothing stood out for our family. Coffee was very average, food was below average. Only the Mediterranean baguette was passable. Soy based coffee tasted funny. Waffles was soft and chocolate sauce tasted weird, tasted medicinal according to my kids.

Cute coffee with a nice ambience. Nice music, beautiful design, a bit of a coworking space vibe. They also have a nice terrace. The personnel is nice and the products are tasty. We had a soy milk latte and an iced capuccino, and both were great 👍🏾 You’ll find the menu on my pictures, in case you want to check the products and prices.

Into the Woods is a unique themed café that offers a comfortable working environment with WiFi, AC, and outlets. The café features ideally-sized tables and chairs, along with excellent homemade cakes. Additionally, visitors can enjoy the quirky ambiance of the café, which is adorned with a wall-to-wall mural depicting a fairy tale forest. Another hidden gem in the area is Secret Cafe in Town, which may have fewer electricity sockets but compensates with its cool staff and delicious noodle salad.
The stir-fried pork with rice and cabbage was absolutely delicious! The pork was tender and flavorful, perfectly seasoned with a savory sauce that complemented the fluffy rice. The cabbage added a nice crunch and balanced the dish with a hint of sweetness. A simple yet incredibly satisfying meal—I’d definitely have it again!

What a gem! The first day I came here I ordered the latte with chili honey - the coffee here is amazing! I also ordered the pork stew - no exaggeration to say it was one of the best stews of my life! So simple, yet so delicious. I enjoyed it so much I came back the next day and ordered the glass noodle soup. They also have a dessert that looks just like a kitchen sponge! Taste Cafe is a trendy coffee spot located just outside of Nimman, making it a favorite among young students and hipsters. The cafe boasts a clean, minimalist decor with an abundance of greenery, providing a relaxed atmosphere for patrons. It offers ample seating options including two-person tables and a bar with stools, catering to various preferences. Additionally, the cafe provides air conditioning and great coffee at reasonable prices, although the beans can be on the pricier side.
Among the countless coffee shops in Chiang Mai, this one stands out as truly exceptional. I would confidently rank it in the top ten! Great coffee and good vibes! However, this cafe tends to be quite busy throughout the day. I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re looking for a quiet place. Soft Latte is my fav!! I bet you try

And of course it’s not quiet at all, and sometimes your devices got logged out because too many people are using its internet. Also not enough charging places, overall it’s not right place for digital nomad. But the coffee maker looks handsome and tall lolll

People might have heard that this place has a good coffee but why order green tea latte? The only lesson I ordered the green tea latte here because the green tea here is not the actual green tea. No signage other than a small name plate near the door made it interesting to find. Nicely decorated with the roaster tucked away at the back. Utilitarian in design with uncomfortable but functionally trendy seating. Not a place to sit and work all day. There were two menus on offer. One with next to nothing on it. The other was a little more comprehensive. There was a poor selection of tea on offer when we visited and no fruit juice. The coffee used Thai beans. A good roast profile with a good flavour. The flat white had a decent body but there was an unusual after taste. I really wanted to live this place but I've had better elsewhere in Chiang Mai. I think I just visited on an off day.

Gallery Drip Coffee Chiang Mai is a local family-run cafe located inside the Chiang Mai Museum. The cafe offers a variety of freshly made drip coffees with beans sourced from northern Thailand, providing visitors with an opportunity to learn about the history and different types of beans. The youthful atmosphere, friendly staff, and nice decoration make it a great place to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee or iced flower tea.
I don't have time to try the drip coffee. I just bought typical coffee with milk. But i bought the coffee beans and tried dripping on my own. I trusted reviews from others 😆. The beans are very good. It is the same as what they describe. The beans are quite small compared to what i bought in my country and they are lightly roasted. It is recommended to drink it without milk. I'm not sure what is the standard price for the coffee beans in Chiang Mai. I bought 2 packs 100g each and for me it is quite expensive. But it's okay once in a while. 🤣

One of local girl I’ve met during my stay in Chiang Mai took me there for coffee as I’ve been complaining about how I couldn’t find a decent coffee which has no coconut or extra things added to it. Apparently the owner is “drip king of Thailand” , not sure if that’s true but the coffee is excellent. You can choose your choice of beans and the artist will craft it for you. Highly recommend if you are town.

Gallery Drip Coffee is a hidden gem located on the first floor of the Chiang Mai Cultural Centre. The owner is incredibly kind and welcoming, and the coffee is exceptional – full of rich aroma. With seating available both inside and in a lovely garden setting, it's a beautiful place to relax and enjoy a cup. While the Cultural Centre's exhibition wasn't particularly impressive, Gallery Drip Coffee is definitely worth a visit for the coffee alone!

A little cozy cafe located next to a musuem and a monument. Great for a little break during the day. There's both indoor and outdoor area. Wonderful vibe and environment. They also have some desserts to pair with your coffee, although their selections are limited. I ordered the apple crumble and give it 3/5 as it tasted nice but the crumble is soggy. For their coffee, they have a variety of beans for you to choose, offering different characteristics. All their beans are Thai's. I recommend to order the drip (filter) coffee as I think it gives you the opportunity to taste the actual characteristics of the beans and a balanced profile. The staff are lovely and will help you recommend to your desire. On top of that, for those who are drip fanatics, they may not follow all the rules completely, so don't expect a scientific result. It's more of a casual brewing. Lastly, you will be looking to spend around 80-140THB for the drip coffee which is a very good price. In conclusion, the Cafe is quite nice offering a good coffee and vibes. You can read books indoor or enjoy the scenery and architect outdoor.

I discovered this café in Chiang Mai after reading about it in a magazine back home in China, which called it the “Pour-over God.” The café is located on the first floor of a cultural arts center, offering a beautiful environment and the chance to visit the museum after your coffee. The menu is more extensive than the magazine mentioned — they serve pour-over, classic coffees, and even decaf options. The café is very comfortable, with air conditioning, WiFi, and plenty of power outlets, making it perfect for working or reading. I tried two local pour-over coffees. The flavors were generally balanced, with one having a pronounced fermented note at lower temperatures. I spent a relaxing two hours here reading and enjoying the ambiance. The staff — both the male and female baristas — were highly professional and attentive. A lovely spot for a peaceful afternoon in Chiang Mai, and I would definitely come back!

I patronized this cafe on a weekday afternoon in October 2024. Cute little cafe with mean-looking coffee makers. Here for a respite from the sweltering hot sun since it was near the Three Kings Monument. We had a THB 80 iced latte, Thai-style, which was sweetened and slightly savoury. An interesting exposure.

A great coffee shop with top of the line local beans. It’s rare to get this high quality. The matcha tea was delicious. The atmosphere is smooth with a lot of trees and greenery. Fitting if you want to enjoy the nature.

My friend and I stumbled upon this shop while roaming around the neighborhood, and we were pleasantly surprised by how high end it was. Both the iced latte and hot americano were really, really good. I also tried the affogato and it was the best I've ever had. I don't know what kind of ice cream they're using, but it works so well with the espresso. And the final sips, after the ice cream has fully melted into the espresso, were truly sensational.
Nick T — Google review
Absolutely sensational cafe. While it might be on the higher end price-wise, you certainly get what you pay for. The high quality beans create a coffee experience that is unlike most other cafes in the area or even city. I particularly appreciate that they were able to really bring out the chocolate notes of their drinks. At the same time, the atmosphere of the cafe makes it the sort of place that you could easily catch up with a friend or read a gripping novel.
Dama D — Google review
Actually the best coffee I've had in Thailand. The complex layers of flavor in the roast are unmatched.
Bridget F — Google review
Sensation Coffee Roaster’s hot cappuccino is a delight. It's creamy with just the right amount of microfoam and served at the perfect temperature. The natural light sweetness from the steamed milk complements the medium roast beautifully, balancing out any sour notes. While I find their iced americano a bit too sour for my taste, the cappuccino is a wonderful blend of flavors. Let me update this review after I tasted their hot Mocha. I recently tried their hot Mocha, and I have to say, it didn't meet my expectations. When I order a Mocha, I expect a balanced blend of coffee with a hint of cocoa, where the coffee remains the dominant flavor. Unfortunately, the cocoa taste overpowered the coffee, leaving me feeling like I might as well have ordered hot cocoa instead. If you're a fan of a stronger coffee profile, this may not be the right choice. Also, it's worth mentioning that this café doesn’t offer dark roasted beans, which could be disappointing for those who prefer a bolder coffee experience.
Antiris B — Google review
Best coffee ever you can find in Chiang Mai. Sweet, balance and not bitter at all :)
Picharn T — Google review
Very good house blend roast coffee; they can extract the finest taste from coffee beans. We ordered the orange espresso and house blend beans cappuccino. This is the top coffee spot in the area. The bakery also offers good options to go along with the cup. The staff is very nice and can provide detailed information. We confirm that this shop is recommended.

Nestled in a colonial-style white mansion, Yesterday Cafe in Nimman offers a stylish and relaxed atmosphere to enjoy quality coffee and breakfast. The interior features stripped-back decor with retro movie posters, while outdoor seating under a shaded veranda provides a cool retreat. Visitors praise the cafe's inviting ambiance and delicious Thai tea. It's also noted as a quiet spot in the mornings with excellent service and reasonable prices.
My favorite cafe yet. Brick driveway, comfortable seating, delicious food and beverage menu, outlets, WiFi, wall of windows for natural light, great hours, kind staff (Cartoon, who manages the hotel and cafe, is so friendly and kind)! Right outside Yesterday Hotel, it’s the perfect place for travelers who enjoy frequenting a cafe for morning coffee during their stay (& enjoying a calming tea & sweet pastry before bed☺️).

Something magical about this place because I was mysteriously pulled in while walking past the cafe. ❤️ I knew it was going to be good as soon as I saw the design, the architecture, the old wood, and the coffee bar inside. I was immediately greeted by the manager who was very helpful and informative. I don't usually choose coffee bars, but this one is special. After 5 minutes of learning about their slow drip process and the different coffees they offered, I chose the Ethiopian bean. They take their time and bring you what you need to enjoy the coffee. The Ethiopian blend was amazing. Exactly as described. I drank it without any sugar or cream. I had to have the chocolate croissant. The seating is comfortable. The atmosphere is relaxing and great for meetings, couples, or by yourself. You don't hear a lot of street noise if you sit inside. I can tell that it would be fun to sit outside in the evenings when it's cooler and you can watch people walk by. I definitely found a great cafe and will come back. I highly recommend this place if you are picky about coffee and want to experience something different than your average coffee shop. The cost is worth the visit. You are paying for quality and ambience as well as for great service.

This cafe is perfect. Their knowledge about coffee is incredible. They use fresh ingredients. The pour over is great, they really want you to enjoy the experience of drinking it. They use fresh coconut milk in their drinks. And the ambiance is unmatched.

Nestled next to the Yesterday Hotel, this stylish cafe is a coffee aficionado's dream, serving high-quality brews with the precision of Chemex which is know that its thicker paper filters can create a "cleaner" coffee, preserving the pure flavors without the influence of excess oils. The ambiance is a seamless blend of past and present, with brick, wood, and leather couches contributing to a nostalgic atmosphere that transports you back to the good old 'yesterday.' Whether you're a coffee connoisseur or simply seeking a charming space, this cafe delivers on both fronts.

Beautiful, rustic setting to sit and enjoy a coffee or meal. Sadly my ordering experience was a comedy of errors. The staff are wonderful but the prices are way too high, 90 baht for Thai milk tea!

I like the vibe here and it’s pretty relaxing. The price of coffee here starts from 70THB. There is an outside space and AC room here and the AC is pretty strong so you may wanna bring a jacket if you are planning to spend sometime here.

Perfect hidden gem in Nimman. The coffee & drinks are delicious, a bit pricey but worth it. I come here nearly every day, it’s such a good spot to chill out and/or bring the laptop. Plus under every seat, and even outside 🙌🏻 can’t comment on the food (gluten allergy) but I love this place. Highly recommend.

Caramellow Cafe is a charming spot with a positive and relaxing atmosphere, featuring well-decorated indoor and outdoor spaces. The cafe offers an incredibly creative selection of drinks, including strong coffee with a dessert twist. While the food received mixed reviews, the croissant filled with salmon and poached egg was noted as a bit disappointing. However, visitors praised the cozy ambiance and friendly staff.
Oh my goodness, where do I even begin with this cafe? From the moment I stepped inside, I was absolutely captivated! The interior is incredibly cozy and inviting, making you feel right at home with its charming decor and warm ambiance. It's the perfect spot to relax, catch up with friends, or even get some work done. Now, let's talk about the food – it's a culinary masterpiece! Every single dish I tried was not only delicious but also incredibly aesthetic, truly a feast for both the eyes and the palate. The selection is vast and impressive, catering to every taste imaginable. As a vegetarian, I was thrilled to find so many vegetarian-friendly options, each bursting with flavor and creativity. But the real showstopper? The ability to create your own croissant! This personalized touch takes the experience to a whole new level, allowing you to craft your perfect pastry dream. And speaking of dreams, the desserts are simply out of this world! Each one is a work of art, a symphony of flavors and textures that will leave you utterly speechless. You absolutely must save room for them. Beyond the incredible food, the service was impeccable – attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. And the best part? The price is incredibly fair for the quality and experience you receive. It's rare to find such an exceptional place that doesn't break the bank. Seriously, if you're looking for a cafe that excels in every single aspect – from the food to the atmosphere to the service – this is it. I cannot recommend it highly enough! You'll thank me later.

Beautiful cafe with delicious food, dessert, and drinks. We tried the Mac & cheese, Cuban sandwich, and Caesar salad. Everything was delicious. The mango yogurt cake and carrot cake were delightful. Their coffee flavor is superb. It is beautifully decorated indoor and outdoor. Will definitely be coming back again. The staff are friendly and helpful.

A good coffee shop but the price a bit high for the drinks, i think their drinks were not that good compare to the price. We like the cakes we had tried here which are mango cake and taro cake. The decoration is quite attractive, suitable for young or teenager to visit and take picture.

Hidden in a peaceful green corner, Caramellow is a true dessert sanctuary! The choux cream was perfectly crisp outside and overflowing with fluffy, dreamy cream inside. The coconut cake? Light, moist, and just melts in your mouth. Bonus: the homemade shortbread is dangerously addictive. Coffee was solid too. A must-visit if you love sweets in a cozy, quiet setting!

A lovely and cozy café with a calm atmosphere. Prices are reasonable, and it’s a perfect spot for chatting with friends or working peacefully. If you’re a digital nomad, this place is highly recommended!
Han M — Google review
The café is beautiful and offers a nice variety of food options. It does feel a bit high-end and more geared towards the “Instagram crowd” who come for photos, rather than for a relaxed meal. Our experience was okay overall — the staff weren’t very warm and came across as a little aloof. Tip: If you sit outside, pick a shaded table to avoid bird droppings and keep clear of areas with ants.

This has to be one of Chiang Mai’s best hidden gems! AMAZING PLACE! I didn’t even care to record the actual inside of the cafe as it does NOT compare to the outside. Food was so good, staff are very attentive, they have the button system so just buzz for attention and they do accept card!! I stayed here for over 6 hours. Getting some work done. They have pretty good wifi too. I WILL BE BACK!

During my recent trip to Chiang Mai, I had the pleasure of visiting Caramellow Cafe, a charming eatery nestled near the airport plaza area. The cafe is set amidst lush greenery, providing a serene atmosphere perfect for a relaxing breakfast. Their menu features a delightful range of options, from hearty breakfast dishes to lighter choices. The ingredients were fresh, and the flavors were well-balanced. Pairing it with a cup of their aromatic Thai Tea for a perfect start to the day. The staff were friendly and attentive, adding to the overall pleasant experience. If you're ever in Chiang Mai and looking for a great breakfast spot, I highly recommend giving Caramellow Cafe a try.

Bella Goose Cafe at the Hill is a charming spot that offers delicious breakfast options and fantastic coffee. The biscuits and gravy are a must-try, with perfectly fried eggs and juicy, crispy chicken that adds just the right amount of spice. The Tennessee/Texas couple behind the menu really knows their stuff. The cafe also serves amazing shakes like the strawberry shake and unique drinks such as ginger beverages. Their baked goods, including fluffy cinnamon rolls and delightful scones, are highly recommended.
Such a great experience. My last meal before I continue my trip to Vietnam and wanted a taste of home, USA. This place is no joke. Ordered the Tennessee set and the chicken fried steak was THE BEST. Breading was crispy, light and tasty. Chicken was moist and fork cutting tender, and that sausage gravy was next level. Chunks and chunks of sausage on a very delicious biscuit. Now this is probably the weirdest part. They had these greens on the plate which were amazing. Super fresh, plump and such a great contrast to the heaviness of the chicken and gravy. Came with an Americano coffee which was perfectly made. Service was friendly, quick and interior was clean and homey with touches of wood, cloth and stone.

Solid breakfast option, service could be better. Excellent coffee. Food decent. - we had to ask a few too many times for small things that should not be necessary if attentive, like a tea spoon, napkins, milk with americano. The place was near empty, but staff seemed distracted a bit by other things - had the big breakfast set (good), fruit bowl (good), Daeng mango smoothie (very big but too cold and watery), good morning bowl (nice but too mushy) - very good coffee (flat white, cappuccino, americano)

We came to Bella Goose Cafe at the Hill for breakfast while traveling, and it was a wonderful experience. The atmosphere is very pleasant, with a stylish and elegant design. The menu is huge and has something for every taste. Our breakfasts were delicious and nicely served, and the service was fast. We arrived around 7:30 am, and it was quiet, but by 8:00 more people started coming in for breakfast. The cafe also has its own merch corner, tasty coffee, and good music. Overall, Bella Goose Cafe at the Hill is a great spot for breakfast in Chiang Mai, and we definitely recommend it!

This place is incredible. We found it on our first day, and we came back every day. They have single origin pour overs, and their Berry Berry Bowl is delicious. Everything is good, too. We've tried about ten of the menu items over several days and haven't found anything we were disappointed with.

Best cafe in the Pantip area. Their large cappuccino is our go to coffee experience . Our favorite morning meal is their morning bowl or smoked salmon and avocado toast. Comfortable seating and soothing easy listening music plays in the background.Manager Hope and her staff are awesome!

I still haven’t been here in person, but have ordered many times over the years. Most recently, I ordered the BG club sandwich and a pumpkin spice latte. The sandwich was seriously delicious!! The thin crispy chips and salsa that come as a side are perfection. And considering that this is the 4th time I’ve ordered the pumpkin spice latte in the past 2 weeks 🙈, I’ll just say it is SO good! Some other repeat menu items that I like to get are the Bacon Chicken Ranch wrap 😍, Southwest Salad (with Smokey mayo chicken), the BG Club sandwich, Avocado Biscuits, and the Salted Caramel latte.

Excellent food and drinks, quite a few vegetarian selections too. The buttermilk was very good though it was so big I couldn’t finish. Ample free parking across the street. Our group were quite happy with this venue.

Very very cute coffeeshop in Chiangmai. It’s very small inside so very few seating space but worth going there for the vibe and enjoy the sun outside. Really cool glasses and trays too, variety of coffee drinks to choose from, different beans too. Highly recommend

Great little coffee shop, only 3 tables inside and very small seating outside. However, they do offer many different types of coffee and various unusual coffee blends, something for every taste. They offer chocolate brownie and another small chocolate cake plus a biscuit, the lack of variety in the cake department is a shame as this lets them down in my opinion. The staff are great and very helpful and efficient.

This is a great coffee shop with great service. The staff are amazing and very friendly. But most importantly, they make a great coffee. I read about this place online and decided to visit. Hidden Gem for Brunch Lovers in Nimman! I discovered this cozy little brunch spot near Nimman after reading glowing reviews from international guests—and it did not disappoint! I ordered a cup of local coffee, which was decent, and an avocado sourdough toast with added scrambled eggs. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and totally my style—especially considering the great value for the price. Although the restaurant is a bit tricky to find, it’s well worth the effort. If I’m ever in Chiang Mai again, this place will be on my must-visit list! Highly recommended for anyone looking for a satisfying brunch in a relaxed setting.

Super Fluffy crunchy on the edge pancakes with fresh fruit are a showstopper light sweetness and topped generously with vibrant seasonal fruits. Perfect if you’re craving something sweet without feeling too heavy. The scrambled eggs with avocado toast and salmon on the side is a standout. The eggs are soft and creamy, the avocado perfectly ripe, and the smoked salmon adds that extra boost of peanut butter Chocolate protein shake putting a cherry on top. Zucchini toast is an exquisite menu to try out on a side note.

If you ask any real local person they’d say this place is the best place for brunch! Ive been coming here for years and the food + service have always been top notched. My to go is the parmesan scramble egg because it’s super rich & creamy so much so that it melts in your mouth sometimes. You wouldnt be able to find a better egg than this. Their veggies and tomatoes are fresh & sweet too. Other bake goods are also nice. Their scones have the half scone half biscuit texture which for me is really addictive haha Anyway, it’s the most perfect place to start your day in CNX!

This Cafe we chose was tucked away in an alley. We went inside, were greeted with smiles and seated with a menu. The staff served us lemon infused water and we ordered two open sandwiches along with a pot of chai latte and an americano. The fig Sandwich was tasty and the avocado sandwich was really good too. The chai had a rich flavour and came with a small honeyjar. The americano was tasty. The staff was always attentive and refilled the waterglasses. Although the food was delicious and the service really good, considering the interiordesign and state of the cafe its having hefty prices.

This time I must say they improved a lot! I was here several years back when it was more packed with tourists and expats/normads. Their food are super good! They have great selection for non-coffee drinker however, their matcha is not that great but well... they had other choices. The portion is huge! Upon arrival, we were greeted politely by the friendly staff. The chicken breast avocado, vegetables egg benedict and french toast was extremely well done, everything was nicely grilled and seasoned. The fruits on the french toast was sweet and the toast has a great texture to it. The shashouka was slightly dry but the sour dough was tasty with a nice crunch. The butterfly pea drink was good too. I walked by this cafe before but didn't notice it at all until I was finding a brunch place nearby and came across this on Google. This cafe got quite a unique style yes definitely first can tell from the name. They offer both inside and outside sitting areas (outside might be ideal but not in hot summer days as now from beginning of May). An attentive menu with wide variety of options. If you're on the lookout for a unique café experience in Chiang Mai, The Barisotel by The Baristro is an absolute must-visit. This stunning venue boasts an all-white aesthetic that creates a serene and minimalist atmosphere, making it feel like a slice of heaven. With its soaring ceilings and elongated windows, the space feels both expansive and inviting. The stone-themed architecture adds a rustic charm to the otherwise modern design, setting it apart from other vintage-style coffee shops in the area.
This place is a combination of a café and a hotel. The café occupies the first and second floors, and we stayed in the guest room on the top floor. Starting with the room: there are very few rooms available, and the one we stayed in was the only guest room on the top floor. You reach it by walking through the café and up the stairs. Since the café closes early in the evening, it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. It didn’t feel like staying in a typical hotel, more like a private apartment. The room layout was great, with a spacious interior and large windows on two sides. There was even a small living room area with a TV set up for gaming. The amenities were excellent, including a variety of capsule coffee options. As for the café, breakfast was included with our stay, so we got to enjoy both their coffee and bread. The coffee presentation was beautiful and artistic, but it still retained a strong and rich flavor. The breakfast was freshly made, tasted great, and came in generous portions. They even offered complimentary fresh fruit. Honestly, even if I don’t stay here again, I would definitely return just for the breakfast. The service was also exceptional. It seemed like we were the only guests at the time, so it felt like the entire staff was looking after us.

Beautiful Spot, Disappointing Food Quality I visited today with a friend after high recommendations, and while the venue is absolutely beautiful and highly photogenic, the food was a big letdown. Our items were stale and tasted old. My friend’s scone was dry and crumbling. My House Roti was mainly whipped cream and didn't taste fresh. The quality was far below cheaper street food options. We left both plates unfinished. Sadly, I won't be returning unless the quality of the pastries and desserts drastically improves

Located in Chiang Mai, Looper & Co. is a unique spot that transforms from a cozy coffee shop during the day to a vibrant cocktail bar at night. The Scandinavian-inspired design sets it apart from other venues in the area, offering an intimate setting for patrons to enjoy their drinks. With DJs and lively bartenders, there's always something exciting happening here. The menu features coffee-infused cocktails, making it a must-visit for those looking for innovative beverages.
Nice atmosphere, unique coffee cocktails, and friendly staff! Couldn’t ask for more. The flavor gun bubble drink called Looper was a real visual treat and a flavorful delight on the somewhat sweeter side. Have a look at the video to see what I mean and then go order yourself one :) They are also one of the few coffee cocktail places that are open late.

Randomly ordered coffee by choosing the signs “looper” and just know that they have smock for coffee, this very impressed me and taste was good actually I’m coming for weekend and not much people here Overall, not bad for the novelty for the decoration of the shop. The theme of the cafe is focused on a bar (including coffee mugs that are used as alcohol mugs) I like this actually. the staff here are secretly not taking care of customers much. But it's not bad service.

One of those great cocktail places in Chiang Mai. I like how this place respects the delicacy of the cocktails and paying much attention to the presentation details as well as balance of the taste. The quality answers to the price they charge for your cocktails. Enjoy!

The small room for coffee in the day time and cocktails area for the night time. If you like the minimal style, this place suits you. I went there on the day when there was a private party. I wasn’t spent much time, the music is too loud but the place quite jam in the small area, not much table to sit, there are some space outdoor as your choices as well. 🍸No wine choices 🍸the staffs are friendly

A bar and coffee shop in the old part of town. The place has an industrial vibe, which is quite nice. Outdoor seating with a small garden is also available There is a small parking lot in the small alley where the shop is located. Coffee are decent. Bring your own cup to get a discount.

The small coffee shop that provide 4 kinds of signature coffee and normal coffee. They also open for cocktail 18:00till late. The price is a little bit high but good taste 👍🏻
Viriya T — Google review
Looper is a high end cocktail bar without any of the pomp. The bartenders are friendly, creative, and more than happy to chat for hours about all things cocktails... Especially gin. Their gin selection is fantastic. We went with a group of 4, all of whom had different tastes and palettes, and everyone was very happy with the diversity, quality, service, and (repeating myself), creativity. Drinks aren't cheap, but aren't any worse than any other dedicated cocktail bar in CM either. The only downside is it's on a TINY street that everyone drove past before we found it. Definitely coming back!

No.39 Cafe is a serene and cozy coffee shop located in a lush forest, resembling a charming summer cabin. It offers an array of beverages including matcha tea and coffee drinks, as well as delightful sweets like cakes, pies, and baked goods. The cafe's picturesque views make it the perfect spot for relaxation and enjoyment. Set around a beautiful lake with quirky seating areas featuring a slide, this breakfast spot in Chiang Mai provides an opportunity to enjoy breakfast in a stunning natural setting.
This café totally blew my expectations — even more beautiful than I imagined. The drive up was such a vibe, with winding uphill roads that made the journey feel like part of the experience. The space is wide and open, surrounded by lush greenery that makes you feel like you’re right in the heart of nature. When I visited in the morning, they were playing acoustic music which added to the peaceful, cozy atmosphere. There’s a jade-green pond in the middle of the café — super clean and so relaxing to sit by. Drinks were tasty and reasonably priced. I’d definitely come back. 9/10

It is famous for its blue water cafe in Chiang Mai. It is a place with many tourists and is always crowded. It was close to Ban Kang Wat, so I stopped by a cafe to take a break after looking around Ban Kang Wat. Perhaps because it is a place with many tourists, the price range is very high and something is busy. The blue water was not good when I saw it, but when I took a picture, it looked prettier and cooler. The interior seats were cool but Sofa is not clean, and the guests were full but quiet.

I ordered a simple thai coffee and my partner ordered a fruit tea. We like both of them. We didn't order any food but we definitely enjoyed the DJ playing. It was a jazz r&b hip-hop vibe which I enjoyed dancing too for a while. Although their place seems to be using chemical or paint on the pond, i enjoyed just sitting and getting away from city.

Flight to CNX was early in the morning so I needed a place to hang out before hotel check-in. Chiang Mai cafés really know what's good! I haven't visited anything like this so this was a delight. There was a busker early in the morning, which was a nice surprise since you'd expect them to perform in the afternoon, during peak hours. Best selling point really is the view. I recommend it for sightseeing and photos. Everything else is mid. Latte was okay. Their croissant just felt like bread with air. Flies can get so annoying too. Still a great experience, though.

Drinks and desserts are delicious, with a good variety to choose from. Live music adds a great vibe, especially in the evening. The scenery is beautiful – the pool view and surrounding greenery make it a perfect chill spot. Definitely a must-visit café when in Chiang Mai!

Drinks: 8/10 Atmosphere: 10/10 A breathtaking coffee store with great great atmosphere. It has a whole lake in it and seatings are around the lake. The view is amazing to take good photos or just sit there chilling after a long hot day. It was a bit far from the centre but totally worth it.

The setting of this café is perfect. 90% Chinese visitors. The drinks and shakes are excellent. But do not eat! Why? Okay I ordered a pizza Hawaii. It took very long before it came and it was cold. Also it was not crispy at all and soft like a fried egg! Totally the wrong bottom they used. And not long enough in the oven. And very strange herbs on it. And very little toppings. So we gave it back to the kitchen and they just put it in the microwave and heated it! Disgusting. It was worse than before. They not have a chef in the kitchen with any knowledge! So I did not eat it and ordered waffles. I thought they can not do anything wrong with that.... but oh no they did not put it long enough in the waffle iron and for that reason they did not get the nice brown color on the outside, not being a bit crispy and not well done dough in the inside. So we gave up and returned it to the kitchen without eating it. We hope that they get a real chef in the kitchen soon, because it is a very nice place. Not good to disappoint so many people with substandard quality food! And I used to be a chef myself, so I know what I talk about! My wife ordered pineapple fried rice, which was not nice at all as well! Also also weird herbs in the rice and the pineapple was not tasting nice! My friend had rice with beef, which was not nice as well. So very disappointed in the food. There atmosphere with in every corner photographing Chinese girls was nice.....

Modern, spacious cafe with great vibes. Loved the matcha soft latte, food and drinks were spot on, prices fair. Definitely worth coming back for lunch again.

I ordered 2 cups of coffee for take-away, which were Transit Number 8 (Dirty Latte) and Soft Latte. The Transit Number 8 was good enough, but the Soft Latte was quite a fail because I felt that they didn’t use ice cream / soft serve but more likely whipped cream. The price for a cup of coffee is little bit above the average cafes in Chiang Mai. I didn’t go to their dining area, which was in a unique design (as many people reviews), but I very much liked their front store set-up and design. Really felt like I was in Japan.

Been meaning to review this place for years but never got around to doing so until someone asked me where was my most memorable coffee experience and I have to say THIS !! Hands down!! Everything from decor, service, coffee selection, taste, smell, even temperature is a perfect 5star+ The coffee was brewed perfectly and the infused milk was NOTHING I’ve ever tried before. The rose/ orange/ whatever else they used were paired amazingly well with coffee. Who would have guessed. This was such a random find on my trip to Chiang Mai but it’s moments like these which stays with you for a long time.

The Barn Eatery And Design is a charming cafe located in a leafy garden near Wat Suan Dok, just a short walk from Nimman. Housed inside a constructed barn, it offers a tranquil escape to the less touristy backstreets of suburban Chiang Mai with its rustic charm. The venue is adorned with cool artwork and stylish decor, making it an ideal spot for creative minds to gather over drinks and food.
Chill vibe done right. Usually packed with students for a good reason. If you're looking to sit quietly, this is a good spot in the area. I prefer the outdoor seats. Except for the occasional plane noise, there's hardly anything bothering your senses except for maybe birds chirping and soft playing music. Oh, and maybe when the kitchen is cooking up something spicy 😋 My go-to drink here is the peanut butter choco, because it's rare to find in the gazillion coffee shops in town but also because it's damn good.

Nice place to stay for the day. Matcha i ordered was good not great. Quality could be a little better. Food also nice and good value for the price. Atmosphere is cool but little crowded and close.

This cafe is smaller than I thought. Pictures made me think of here quite spacious. So many students are studying here. Here is like a more for local students studying cafe. Coconut pie is well known here, and it mostly consists of layered cream. Coffee is not bad... and not amazing...

Cute cafe perfect to get some work done. There are some students also which adds a good vibe. The drinks are good. Capuccino, coffee and even matcha are good. They do have oat milk. Coconut pie is to die for - the best I tried in Thailand! (I’ll miss it!) The brownie was good but coconut pie even better.

A hidden gem hide away from busy location like old city. This is more likely a local neighbourhood area and this cafe seems popular among the people live nearby as well as some tourists as you can see during the day time. Many student/local will just chill with a drink there and starts using the laptop for hours! They offer cheap and good lunches and coffees but personally I am a serious coffee drinker... I will say their coffee just average. The Barn green plants decorations of the exterior seems became the main selling points of the cafe. The interior of the cafe seem simple and the decorations seem little disorganised and such as cleverly using the space and some of the plants already dried up but still on the pots and it's really look miserable!
MERCY — Google review
Prices for the drinks are in the average price range. There is an indoor and also outdoor section in this cafe. More seats indoors and there are charging points. You can do your work in aircon comfort. However, I feel that the lights are quite dim and may be straining for the eyes if you work on your laptop in the evening.
Darren — Google review
A pretty decent cafe for coffee and cakes. Selection isn’t aplenty but it’s sufficient. Come at around 11am to get to select your seats, it gets packed with students from noon onwards. We had the lemon tart which is tangy and appetizing (would like it more if the tart is a bit more crunchy). Cappuccino was smooth & fragrant (no coffee art though) but the milk toffee nut is SUPER sweet (we only drank a sip). Overall, good experience for a quiet place to hide from the sun.
Jacelyn P — Google review
A good place to stay all day and study. Tea is made with teabags, as is usual in cafes here. Good presentation, and a menu complete with breakfast and lunch options. Wi-Fi available. A cute cat wanders around the cafe. Outdoor and indoor seating. A/C equipped. Clean restroom.

Good vibes. Great spacious design. Good, creative coffee. Friendly and helpful staffs. Down side, there’s only 1 mixed toilet which is really annoying. If you want to spend your time here, maybe an hour chat is cool, over the afternoon when things aren’t busy. My personal view, best to take away. Chairs aren’t comfortable. It’s really for quick chat, photos and nicely presented coffee. Still give it 4-star for product quality and services.

Amazing coffee! There's an unassuming entrance, but I was blown away once I walked inside. Very cool, trendy vibes here with chill music. Coffee options are excellent--lots of cold brew mixes and single origin options. I really enjoyed my coffee and also ordered a carrot cake, which had great icing. Really can't go wrong here, I'd recommend anyone who loves coffee to check out one of the Graph shops around town. Prices are slightly higher, but it's a great coffee experience and I look forward to going back.

Wow what a cafe! Little bit out of old town Chiang Mai but worth the trek. We caught a Grab to get there. Very funky on the inside and interesting coffee menu. We tried the Holiday and Magma, both were yum! Would suggest trying some of their drinks from menu rather than a classic coffee. The atmosphere is very nice and good place to sit.

Pricey but unique and delicious coffee. Perfect air conditioned escape from the outside heat and hidden away from street view behind a wall creating a lovely secret hideaway.

Nowhere Cafe: A Hidden Gem in Chiang Mai’s Old City Tucked away in the heart of Chiang Mai’s old city, Nowhere Cafe is an absolute haven for those seeking great coffee, artistic charm, and a laid-back atmosphere. This isn’t just a place to grab a drink—it’s an immersive experience that perfectly blends creativity, nature, and local character. Ambiance & Vibe: The moment you step into Nowhere Cafe, you’ll feel like you’ve discovered a secret garden. The outdoor seating area is shaded by lush plants and peppered with quirky sculptures, rustic furniture, and vibrant art pieces. The space has an organic, almost bohemian charm that makes it the perfect spot to unwind, read, or simply soak in the relaxed energy. The vibe is further elevated by an eclectic music selection—ranging from jazz and chill beats to indie tunes—that enhances the peaceful yet inspiring setting. Coffee & Service: As you’d expect from a cafe tied to a local coffee farmer, the coffee here is outstanding. Whether you’re a fan of a rich espresso, a creamy latte, or a refreshing iced brew, every cup is crafted with care and precision. The baristas are friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they do, always ready with recommendations or a story about the cafe’s roots. The Resident Cat: Adding to the charm is the cafe’s unofficial mascot: a calico cat with a nonchalant swagger. This cool feline can often be found strolling casually through the cafe, lounging in the shade, or curiously inspecting visitors. Their presence feels perfectly at home here, adding a delightful touch of whimsy and local character. Sharing your coffee break with this chill companion somehow makes the entire experience feel even more authentic and memorable. Final Thoughts: Nowhere Cafe is a perfect blend of great coffee, beautiful design, and artistic flair. It’s a peaceful oasis where you can escape the bustle of the city, surrounded by greenery, eclectic art, and the calming presence of a very cool cat. Whether you’re a traveler or a local, this gem deserves a top spot on your Chiang Mai itinerary. Come for the coffee, stay for the ambiance, and let Nowhere Cafe remind you why the little details matter.

Located just west of Thae Pae Gate in Chiang Mai, GRAPH quarter is a small and cozy café known for its excellent coffee. The café, which opened in 2014, offers a hipster vibe and is popular among expats. With only a few seats available, it's more of a social spot than a co-working space. The owners are dedicated to perfecting their coffee-making skills and have created an intimate, minimalist setting for visitors to enjoy their carefully crafted beverages.
Graph is one of our favorite cafes, and just having one so close to our accommodation was a bonus. We walked to Graph Quarter to have one of their most amazing specialty coffees. This graph is very cute inside. Small but super tasty selection of baked treats, we got a blueberry cheesecake to share. But their coffee list is amazing, and there are lots of different specialty coffees to choose from. We chose Soul Smith and Graph No.29, both completely different but both so delicious. The staff here are friendly. It was a very chill vibe inside, and I loved the chill music, too. They have a cute little gift section too for little gifts you might like to buy and take home.

Wonderful cafe. Love the minimalist mid century decor. The dark blue and wood is a vibe. Very nostalgic. The baristas are kind, friendly and genuine. I was recommended to try the Downtown and it hit the spot for a sunny day. Paired well with a lemon tart. Love this place! I discovered GRAPH in a small coffee shop in Chiang Mai old city in 2017, and was happily surprised to see it expanded in 2023. The nitro coffee creations are like nothing I've tasted before and are a mixture of lots of combinations to suit anyone. My favourite was downtown! Refreshing with a hint of chocolate flavour and coffee. The resident kitty is also another reason to come. I think if there is one coffee shop to visit, GRAPH is one of them! You won't taste coffee like it.

GRAPH serves up some interesting concoctions that are different from what typical cafes have to offer. Tried their coffee with craft soda and seaweed - it was delightful! The Consul's Garden is a serene and lush green paradise located beside the Ping River. It features spacious seating areas, both outdoors on the lawn and indoors with air-conditioning. The garden was once the private residence of British Consul William Alfred Rae Wood and boasts fine colonial-style architecture, including a century-old imposing rain tree.
We ordered truffle omelet with mushroom toast and stir-fried pork & vegetables with Thai omelet on top of rice, all were so tasty and fast served with friendly manner. Feeling so happy amid this beautiful and peaceful atmosphere here. A Must-visit 100% 👍

Fine dinning in garden elegance. This beautiful open setting beside the Ping river is the place to come for a relaxed culinary experience. The food is excellent although a on the higher end price-wise. Whether sitting inside or out, the views make you feel you’re at an exclusive country club.

If you’re here for view and atmosphere, you wouldn’t be disappointed. Drinks are decent, nothing special. BUT. The food is terrible for the price. I ordered the lunch set B, scallops w fried spaghetti. The scallops are dry and rubbery. My partner ordered fish and chips, not the typical British style, but the fish is also dry. I would expect things to be at least decent for the price…

Little piece of relaxing green paradise whenever you need to destress. Located beside the Ping River, this historic place used to be the private residence of the British consul. The menu is only in English; and even though this place feels posh, it’s not even close to what you’d have to pay in Singapore. A chicken club sandwich for US$6. Comfy lush spacious seating throughout the massive grounds, whether outside on the lawn or inside with air-conditioning. One could spend half a day reading, writing, or reflecting. Ideal for alone-time, couple-time, or even families. This isn’t a place to rush. Be prepared to rest and relax here. The place welcomes it.

Coffee shop
Nestled in the heart of Chiang Mai, W8 x Viangpha cafe is a charming spot located near the famous Sunday Night Market. This cozy cafe offers both indoor and outdoor seating, making it a perfect place to enjoy a cup of coffee while taking in the city's ambiance. With fast wifi and a peaceful second-floor location away from street noise, it's an ideal space for remote work or relaxation.
Great place to get some work done and enjoy the weekend afternoon. Quiet, spacious, high ceilings, rustic ambiance, and plenty of seats and tables. Would come again.

Lovely place to work, study, and chill. My partner loved his iced mocha and I adored my rose cappuccino! You can smell the roses 🌹. Come chill out here

Hands down, without a doubt, the BEST coffee shop in Chiang Mai (and all of Thailand) for focus, work, writing, whatever it is. It’s not loud and bustling, more like an old, welcoming library with a beautiful porch half-alive with plants.
Joe D — Google review
Good workable cafe located in the 2nd floor. There are many good tables and ok chairs as well as power outlets. It’s an optimized working environment. I tried their hot cappuccino and it was good, but their iced latte was not so good. If you are planning to get some work done in this area, it’s a good place to hop in and GSD.

Cutest hole in the wall ever! Super quiet and mellow place to work. On a side note, you can tell they actually do a really good job taking care of the small aquariums in the cafe. Peach tea was 10/10 as well ❤️

Looks nice if you're willing to pay for bad coffee/drink to save your spot. I came here three times to work because the place is quiet and closes a bit later than other cafés. Had ice coffee first, then tried the orange coffee, then iced matcha the third time, all of them tasted pretty bad, every time it seems the drinks were cut with water which is just ruining the drinks. Either way, it's a good place if you're willing to pay 80 baht for a placeholder drink just to work from here, just don't come here for coffee. Noting, I was told you cannot leave and come back and will need to buy another drink to be allowed back in, so if you want to get a phone call don't get out on the street 😅 Edit: Changed from 2 to 1 star as although I gave it points for the nice ambiance, there are so many places nearby or in the old town that are comparable and offer good coffee, this place doesn't stand out in any significant way

Another one very amazing café. 3 floors so wel design with a very interesting style of furniture. The Coffee test very good and fruitcake so delicious. The staff make me so happy when they walk up and down.

It's a hidden but beautiful place! The coffee it's ok, but not great although the house specialties are nice, I tried the cinnamon one and it's cold and nice! If you want specialty coffee this is not for you, but it's a very nice place to spend a few hours, relaxing or working a little bit.

Cafe
Palit Coffee is a small and cozy café located in the charming neighborhood of Palit in Chiang Mai. Despite not offering much else to do in the area, this café is known for its Instagram-worthy ambiance and good coffee. Upon entering, guests are welcomed by a wall of lush plants that create a greenhouse-like atmosphere. The café itself is tiny with only a few tables and a counter for ordering.
Very good coffee with experienced barista. Provide you both coffee and non coffee with variety of drinks. Reasonable price if compared to other places. Tiny place but generous owner.
Akkradet P — Google review
A highly instagramable cafe with nice staff. However the coffee and the food were rather average (for example the scone was quite sticky and served with cheap quality chemical-like jam)
Chonticha H — Google review
Very nice classic, smell, and taste of coffee. It's my favorite cafe' I have been looking for.
