The 38 best coffee roasters in Hoi An

This is probably the best Hội An’s coffee shops I’ve ever been to. It looks like one of the many rural houses in the area, but it’s beautifully decorated, and symbolizes the contrast between the old-fashioned (architecture and old machineries) and modern, with new equipment and open to globalization. The shop is ran by a Vietnamese woman and a lovely auntie. The drinks are great, and pastries are freshly baked (hence they require some waiting time). Definitely recommended, give it a visit!

The best spot to escape from the old town with a nice drink. I love the iced chocolate (very rich) and the butterfly pea drink (changes color!!) Both super refreshing. Even though it’s super close to the old town, it’s still a quiet and comfortable spot to chill out. Definitely recommend.

This place is such a gem! They do amazingly high quality coffee with so many different creations from traditional Vietnamese coffees, to flat whites, to matcha. It’s hidden down a stunning alley way. I love coming here.

Well I’ll say. This was exactly what I needed today. I’m going to be really honest, I’ve had some personal issues today and my iced chocolate cured them all. It was absolutely delightful stuff. Perfectly foamy and bubbly and even included a free pasta straw as a little snack which my chum was a big fan of, so we both walked away completely satisfied. One thing I would like to point out though is that I hope you’re misting your plants with bottled water only because quite honestly I was covered in it so I bet my iced chocolate was at least 20% plant mist. I would really recommend a watering can instead to avoid this issue. Other than this, lovely atmosphere, great staff - truly a hidden gem!!!

We really enjoyed our visit. The coconut coffee was delicious! Some of the nicest coffee I have ever had and the coconut ice was such a nice touch in the heat. The cafe itself is very pretty and the toilets were clean and well stocked.

Oi Oi, so came here to waste my day and had an iced chocolate I would say it was rather sweet for my liking but maybe I just have a sour heart? Anyway beautiful presentation of my drink and THE BEST PART YOU HAVE ALL BE WATING FOR THEY HAVE EDIBLE STRAWS SO SO SO SICK MADE OUT OF DRYED PASTA, my straw was white which is vinella but they do blue pink and green ones so watch out you might get a blueberry one??? Wow what a place. Now onto the less positives they have water spray spraying the plants all day which I just think isn’t great for the environment like let’s save water shall we??? Fine night resource. Lovely waitress who bought the drinks no hassle great place would come back if I was David Beckham or something cus it is rather spenny I must say. This place deserves the hype! The service was amazing, all staff were very friendly, the dishes were surprisingly enough portion. We were thinking the portion would be small, turned out it was perfect ones. Drinks were good, coffee was good as well. Hello!!! While waiting for our Airbnb check in nearby we found this hidden gem- Rosie's cafe!! It was our first meal in Hoi An and me and my friends absolutely loved it!! The menu is curated so well with food for everyone and the drinks are so so tasty and so refreshing! We liked it so much that we visited it again before leaving hoi An!! Must visit!!

Nice indoor-outdoor garden atmosphere. Great breakfast/brunch options. We went for chicken tacos and avocado toast. They didn’t have any wraps for the tacos so replaced it with sourdough which we were more than happy with. Seemed to have constant flow of custom but still quick with service. Recommend coming here!

Very cool place with good food. Not your typical Vietnamese- typed food. It’s a fusion of all types. Our food was really good. My vegan pancakes and taco was delicious. We would have stayed longer except when our computer alerted us that there was a high possibility of a hacker near by.

The perfect breakfast place in Hoi an! I’ve been here a couple times with friends and we ended up trying almost everything on the menu. Great selection of drinks and delicious coffee! Highly recommended!

Food was delicious for sure. So were the coffees. There were so many choices of healthy food and drinks too. The cafe itself was cute and very well decorated. The only minus was that there were some kids that were children of someone who worked there screaming and teasing the dogs, which was kinda annoying. Overall I would recommend this place.

Really good options for vegans! I had the beetroot hummus on toast with tofu scramble which was delicious. Unfortunately my husbands omelette was overcooked and now very good at all. Expensive for the area also.

This is one of those places that deserves its high rating!!!!!! Such a delightfully perfect start to our morning! Mia Coffee is a gem!!!! With so many coffee shops in Hoi An, it can get overwhelming but to smell their beans roasting at 5:30 and have the very friendly owner (?) chatting with me before they opened was an easy choice today! This was the most flavorful coffee I have had in the three weeks we’ve been in Vietnam ( and that’s saying something with all the great coffee here) As I enjoyed his hot Vietnamese machine coffee, I could smell the banana bread baking. As it cooled on the table, there’s no way one could pass up a slice. Two slices later and we now can’t wait to try their other home baked goodies! You can feel the pride in the owners? staff…And that’s really special yet uncommon !!!! Thank you for a great morning and we will see you again very soon!!!

On a recent trip to Hoi An (my third in the last six years), I developed the habit of stopping at Mia coffee every morning on my way into town. They're open early, have a lovely veranda, and do a great flat white. The staff were friendly and welcoming as well. It's right on the edge of the Old Town, but it's far enough removed from the center that it's pretty quiet and has a relaxed atmosphere. A great place to sit for a while with a book. There are so many coffee places to choose from in Hoi An, but for me, this is the one.

I enjoyed working there on my laptop for a while. The coffee was good and the banana cake too. The prices are reasonable. My only issue was that there was no AC, so it felt pretty hot during day time in August. It will be great to visit when the weather is a bit cooler.

The location and atmosphere are the best thing about Mia Coffee. The staff seemed disinterested and bored with the job. Perhaps they've been doing it too long and need reinvigorating. Service with a smile goes a long way.

The best coffee in 2.5 weeks travelling through Vietnam & Cambodia. Sometimes you just want a delicious barista made coffee like you get in Australia and for the first time on the menu, they had my fave Piccolos! We ended up re-ordering as the coffee was truly delicious. The paninis were yummy too. A lovely cafe off the beaten track without too many tourists and you are served with good timing. Highly recommend if you are craving good barista made coffee. Friendly staff and clean toilets.

Very beautiful coffee shop with cozy Indoor seating as well as seats directly facing the beach. We had the coconut coffee, which at 85k is quite pricy, however it was probably the best coconut coffee we've ever had! The coconut cream they pour onto the robusta Espresso shot is freshly made and they even serve you a glass of coconut water as accompaniment :) The highlight of the coffee shop for me was the view from top overlooking the beach! Definitely give it a go, when you want to treat yourself to a fancy coffee 😊

They have a nice coffee spot, though the seats on the beachside wasn’t as pleasant as I had expected (I visited in June so they might have made changes by then). Thankfully, the indoor space is very comfortable and cozy. I especially loved their egg coffee - rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced. A good place to relax and enjoy a quality cup of coffee.

Great coffee shop with a lot of sitting places and even working places too!! There's an inside area perfect for digital nomads, there's the terrace as well which overlooks the sea and even there you can find plugs all over! The prices are a tiny bit higher than other cafés but is completely worth the experience, the coffee and the service! I definitely loved this place! They even offered coffee from my home country!

Great salted coffee - solid mango smoothly. The café allows you to go out to their beach location, so after you order go easy up and out to get a seat over the water.

This café presents beautifully at first glance — stylish, well-designed, and clearly the result of thoughtful planning. Unfortunately, the quality of the food and service failed to match the setting. The club sandwich, while attractively presented and priced at a premium by local standards, was let down by low-quality ingredients, lack of seasoning, and the use of basic white supermarket bread. When offering Western-style dishes at higher prices, customers reasonably expect a level of care and authenticity in preparation that simply wasn’t there. Service was a major disappointment. The waiting staff appeared distracted and disengaged throughout my visit. Basic details — such as providing napkins, a knife to cut the sandwich, or condiments — were overlooked until specifically requested. The staff, including the floor manager seemed more interested in returning to their phone than in attending to guests. It’s a pity, as the café’s concept and design show real promise. With better supervision, improved training, and a focus on quality ingredients and a strong management team it could easily live up to its potential. As it stands, however, the experience fell way way short of what the setting suggests.

We had an amazing experience yesterday at the Olivier Coffee. The owner was so kind, so human. Truly glad to have met him. We tried the signature coffee and an egg coffee. All the drinks were tasty ! A must try for sure !

Really surprised with some of the negative comments! I’ve been twice now and always have great service and lovely drinks. It’s a perfect space to relax and work or catch up with friends. Today’s tea with kumquat juice and salted apricots was delicious - thank you so much for opening up your beautiful space. We will be back!

Came today after my wife had this place on our to-do list for several years. Reviews seem mostly good so expectations were high. We ordered a coconut blended coffee and ice blended matcha cookie drink. Service was ok drinks were not bad but a lot of ice and flavor wasn’t as good as many others we’ve visited in our travels through Vietnam. I found the lady staff member a little rude even when there were no other guests present. After visiting the bathroom she kept telling me to blow the door, which made no sense to me. I explained I didn’t understand but she didn’t seem terribly happy. Not somewhere I’d rush to come back to.

Most fun class in Hoi an. The coffee is amazing (especially the coconut one) Oliver is a really professional and sweet. Sure you going to fall in love!

A must-visit for coffee lovers We visited this café after reading glowing reviews about their coffee, and it absolutely lived up to expectations. The space is beautifully designed, cosy and comfortable, and a perfect spot to escape the rain, with fans keeping it pleasantly cool. The owner was so friendly and knowledgeable. She took the time to walk us through her unique coffee blend and helped us choose drinks that suited our tastes. Her warmth and care really added to the experience. The drip coffee was the best we’ve had in Vietnam. They roast their own blend, which delivers a strong caffeine hit without any bitterness. It was perfectly balanced, not too sweet, and finished with just the right amount of condensed milk to bring out the deep, rich flavour. Absolutely phenomenal. The kids loved their iced chocolate, and the egg coffee was also delicious. I’m already looking forward to trying the salted coffee when we return tomorrow. Highly recommend for anyone who enjoys quality coffee and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

The ambiance is relaxing, the staff super kind ,and the coffee is delicious! Took the coffee class and it was totally worth it. The instructor was Hi (pronounced as “hee”) she was knowledgeable and made the small group coffee class so much fun! Highly recommend educating yourself on the Vietnamese Coffee Bean options and learning to make 3 of their famous drinks. I ended up buying 8 bags of Robusta coffee beans as presents. Definitely a fan!

Whether you're a professional barista or simply a coffee enthusiast, Phin coffee shouldn’t disappoint. They have two class (options) to choose from. The first is all about egg coffee taught by a barista, demonstrating how to make their signature coconut egg coffee. While the barista doesn't speak much English, they say just watching is enough to understand the process. This class costs 300,000 dong (about $12 USD). I opted for the master coffee class, led by the roaster himself. His English was excellent, and he not only shared the history of coffee but also demonstrated how to make several types of java (including the famous coconut egg coffee). He explained the differences between robusta and arabica beans and allowed us to taste both. One of the highlights was learning how to make coffee using the traditional Vietnamese method with a phin filter. It was a hands-on experience that I won't soon forget. Overall, the master coffee class was a fantastic experience, well worth the 550,000 dong (about $22 USD). While the class typically requires a minimum of two people, the owner kindly made an exception for me. If you're looking to deepen your coffee knowledge or simply want a unique and memorable experience, I highly recommend Phin Coffee

Love this place! Firstly staff is SO friendly, amazing garden like setting & the food is so good! The Vietnamese dishes were the best I’ve had. Wish I had time to eat their smoothie bowls and avo toast. Also they’re very knowledgeable about coffee! Make sure to try it out & even take coffee making classes here with Hi, so knowledgeable!

What a gem! We joined the coffee-making class at Phin Coffee and had such a great time. Hi was an amazing teacher - friendly, funny, and so passionate about Vietnamese coffee. We learnt to make traditional filter coffee, salted coffee, and the famous egg coffee (which was even better than we imagined!). We ended up coming back later for lunch because it is such a peaceful spot. Everything was fresh and delicious, and the staff were lovely. Definitely one of our favourite experiences in Hoi An!

We’ve been here every day during our 3 day stay in Hoi an as it was so good! The staff is always so friendly and the food delicious. Plus they have oat milk which we appreciated for a change ;) Would definitely recommend next to avocado toast, granola bowl and coffee and apple cake, the salt coffee which is a unique experience!

Unique decor in an already unique part of Hoi An, the Old Town, which was founded in the 15th century. I ordered the mocha ( half cacao half coffee) and it was a little sweet for my tastes. The interior reflects the centuries past when the town was the bustling trading port with sailing nations who came first the spice. Today we also come for the coffee. Surprisingly they do not carry weasel coffee / kopi luwak - I did not see a roasting machine on site.

Flipping excellent coffee! Hands down the best coffee, and coconut ice cream coffee we've had so far. It's set up for westerners for sure. But that's not a bad thing. Busy tourist area, but if you get in at 7am you get the place to yourself! Win!!

A lovely tucked away oasis. We have come twice for breakfast. Lovely toast, avacado and eggs to start you day. The staff are so friendly and service is quick. I had the chocolate latte and it was delicious. Highly recommend a visit here off the main tourist area for a quiet meal. Thank you for your wonderful service.

Newly opened in HoiAn ( 2 weeks ) is a lovely Cafe on the edge of Old Town. Serving Coffee freshly Roasted and Ground locally Phin @5 18/8 is an offshoot of The Phin Cafe in Old Town , whilst the Decor , plants and shade areas are still being finalised , already the atmosphere is warm and inviting …… Serving breakfast and lunch the food is yummy and the Coffee Divine …. .i am sure next year when i return it will be humming with repeat customers A bicycle tour company can also be accessed here ……..

The shop itself has a laid-back atmosphere, perfect for a quiet coffee break or a casual chat. The staff were friendly and attentive, adding to the warm, welcoming feel. While I enjoyed my Americano, I highly recommend trying their Coconut Coffee Latte — it’s a standout drink that blends the rich taste of coffee with the creamy sweetness of coconut, perfect for a hot Hội An day. Their cold brew is also worth mentioning — refreshing and strong, great for those who prefer a chilled caffeine kick. Overall, Phin Coffee is definitely worth a visit if you’re in Hội An. U Cafe in Hoi An is such a peaceful gem! Located right in front of the river, it offers beautiful views and a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere. The gentle breeze, the quiet surroundings, and even a lovely pond filled with beautiful goldfish make it feel like a little oasis in the city. The owners are incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the coffee is absolutely delicious — smooth, rich, and clearly made with care. If you’re looking for a calm, scenic spot to unwind and enjoy a great cup of coffee, U Cafe is a must-visit in Hoi An.

This is the second visit and I want to come as much as I can on our trip here in Hoi An. The coffee is amazing. The egg coffee has me dreaming about it and the coconut coffee is the best we’ve had! The ladies are lovely and the actual cafe is a wonderful peaceful Japanese design. It feels like a peaceful paradise with views of the river. U cafe is the place to be! I wish I could pack it up and take it home to New Zealand with me :)

As part of our coffee tour, our next cafe was CocoBox and I really enjoyed my Egg Coffee. I know it's not mainly a Central Vietnam preparation but the way the cafe prepared it was so good it was a highlight of my entire stay in the area. The place is also quite chill and relaxing, quite needed in the scorching Hoi An weather

Best service in town! I was hot with a little sweat and when I arrived, I was seated and give cool moist towel that smelt so good! The drinks were all awesome! Only down side is the street sellers coming in to ask you to purchase things from them. It’s the same for most shops in Hoi an.

This café was our introduction to salt coffee in Vietnam… incredible! And we didn’t find one better for the whole of the trip. They also sell their coffee in bags, which made perfect gifts. A brilliant stop for coffee lovers to watch the world go by.

Service was excellent. We were seated and served very quickly. We had cocoa egg hot and coconut ice cream with a coconut/coconut meat smoothie. So delish!

While the drink prices are relatively high, the atmosphere and views more than make up for it. The café offers a charming space with plenty of photogenic corners, especially the rooftop, which provides a stunning panoramic view of the Old Town. It gets quite crowded during sunset hours, and you might need to queue for several minutes just to get a good spot for photos. Despite the crowds, the experience is worth it—this place is a true gem for both coffee lovers and photography enthusiasts.

We barely waited for 5 mins and had a table quickly. Ordered downstairs and the coffee was served within minutes. Luckily we got a table available on the first level, although it was very humid and sunny that afternoon. The cafe is located to find easily and breezy interiors with table fans and coolers within the premises. Roof top overlooks the quaint town, but limited shade. Coffeee was excellent although less but every sip was indulging. Highly recommend for tourists.

Beautiful setting, peaceful atmosphere. One of the best rooftop spots overlooking the street of the ancient town of Hoi An. An excellent place to capture great photos of the city. It does gets busy with the crowds looking for the perfect sunset photo. Coffee is delicious. Cakes is a must have. The service is fantastic.

Awesome rooftop view. Our group also enjoyed our drinks a lot. The cafe can get very busy on the rooftop during peak hours as it’s a well known spot to take pictures.

this cf has been trending on tiktok and gets a steady flow of customers. the staff are incredibly nice and friendly. although it’s busy, there’s no air conditioning, so the space can feel quite hot. there’s only one shared restroom for both men and women on the second floor. since the flooring is wooden, noises from upstairs can be heard clearly. it’s best to visit in the late afternoon to avoid the heat.

Please order the special coffee and the egg coffee !! I really love their creamy taste 😍 are really nice, but the portion is quite small price is acceptable , The rooftop is also a great spot for taking photos.

Probably one of the best places I’ve eaten in Vietnam (in terms of western food) and I’ve lived in VN for a year and a half. Food quality, freshness, and flavor were amazing. The service was genuinely kind and quick, the atmosphere is perfect for hanging out, working, or just relaxing from the busy streets. They had vegan condensed milk & milk options for coffee (the coffee was amazing) and ensured everything I had was fully vegan. Definitely will be returning as many times as I can while in Hội An. We got the Hola Hola bowl, Vish Tacos, sweet potato fries, and Vietnamese coffee. Would recommend all!

Beautiful atmosphere and lovely service. The granola bowl was good enough and the fruit was fresh and yummy. Granola was a bit sub-standard, could have had some coconut flakes, almonds etc to bulk it up as it was mostly oats and cashews. If I came again I would try a smoothie bowl as these also looked delicious in the pictures I saw. Salted coffee was delicious. Most of the coffee was at the top so remember to mix it up so it’s not too milky when you get to the bottom.

Found via TikTok - sparked interest because of an egg allergy. Only ‘western’ food available. But really good quality, healthy and filling. I’m plenty of seating, and an area upstairs for co-working. Definitely recommend for a brunch spot in Hoi An !!

Amazing place!!! We came to eat here three days in a row. Everything is clean and aesthetically pleasing. They are super accommodating with every request, and the waitress, Ta, was absolutely lovely 🥹 she responded to every request and was genuinely kind and caring. The food is delicious with a great variety of options. Highly recommended!!

Really enjoyed the freshness of the ingredients here. The nourish bowl was full of ingredients, the falafel was crispy on the outside and soft inside. The pita bread was still warm and quite crispy too. We had the chocola sensations for dessert and it was delightful. it's sweet and creamy although personal preference for the chocolate can be more bitter due to the sweet banana. Overall still really enjoyable!

Lovely place with a languid peaceful atmosphere. We had the egg coffee and the hot coconut coffee. Both excellent. The egg coffee is a work of art unique to this cafe. It's carefully made with flambéed frothy sweetened egg topped with little pieces of crystallised orange jam. The robust coffee cuts through with just the right strength to complement the sweetness. The coconut coffee is made with frothed slightly sweetened coconut milk to give a delicious mild breakfast coffee. Cool garden and interior tucked away from the busy streets. Mellow music and free jasmine tea. Friendly welcome.

This place offers the worst coffee that I’ve tasted in Vietnam (I live here for 4 month and drink coffee daily) I couldn’t even comprehend why coffee was so bad. We ordered 3 different types of coffee and couldn’t finish any. This place is not representative of real Vietnamese coffee. Pastry was good though. Staff were extremely nice and friendly.

Whenever I'm in Hoi An, I visit one of the many Hoi An Rostery Coffee Houses. I rarely drink coffee because I can't tolerate it. The coffee served here is top-quality and makes me feel good. It's always worth one or more visits. I love the baked goods.

Coffee at Hội An Roastery was just okay for me. The food wasn’t great… my bread was a bit tough, almost like it was from the day before. What I did enjoy though was the overall vibe of the café, and I appreciate that they also sell their own coffee grounds, which is a nice touch for coffee lovers.

Since there’s plenty different origins/processes/notes… you are very likely to find coffee to your liking here. Much information is provided about the coffee’s (in terms of origin, production, taste notes…), which is nice. Come here to meet people with a big beating heart for coffee! Somehow I ended up coming back here even though my visit to the Da Nang location was not good. This visit was much better though - the young man named Dai was friendly, patient, and not condescending like the guy at the Da Nang location. To the owners of this chain: you should get Dai to train your other employees on how to treat your customers; you're lucky to have him working for you. He single handedly saved my perception of your brand.

We had a lovely time here with Dat who made us some fantastic filter coffee. He brewed it in front of us and we had a nice chat about all things coffee. If you love coffee, it’s a must visit.

Such delicious and strong coffee! It was my first visit to Hoi An. This cafe came highly recommended and it did not disappoint. I ordered the egg coffee. I wasn’t sure how sweet it would be with the condensed milk. They offered to serve the milk separately which was so much appreciated. I sat upstairs at the rooftop which was breezy and cool. The barrister also gave me a free egg sauce which was so delicious. I will definitely come back again next time I’m in Hoi An.

Came for the rooftop and sunset specifically in mind and enjoyed a refreshing coconut coffee and a creamy egg coffee while enjoying the view. It is not shaded there and unless you arrive later in the afternoon I can imagine it’s too hot for pleasure directly in the sun. Service was a bit slow. While I was pointed up stairs for a seat, it took another 10-15min until a waiter eventually came over with a menu, and that only because another guest was guided up and I grabbed the waiter’s attention. I will personally always prefer the coconut coffee in the warmth but both coffees were good. As the sun went down and the lanterns started illuminating the atmosphere slowly changed as well which was cool.

I love the tropical mojito I ordered. Just a perfect drink in this chill night. I love how it’s not too crowded. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The place very aesthetic. Would recommend this place to my friends.

Went in fot a quick stop and I ordered one of their Detox juice which was really refreshing! Inside is quite artsy, with small boat replicas and hats as lamshade. There is a rooftop too that would be perfect to hang out during sunset. Definitely will come back!

Amazing venue! Climb the three flights of stairs to the rooftop - it’s so worth it! We stumbled upon this place after 18 hours on the train from Ho Chi Minh and it was a blessing. The service was stellar - we were well looked after The Cao Lau was divine and a great introduction to a local specialty - both coffees (salted and coconut) were divine and the pineapple juice was fresh and yum. The husband’s big breakfast was a bit eclectic (the toast needed longer and some butter and the raw tomatoes and cooked tomatoes was a little odd!) but the vibe, view and service made up for it!

This is a hidden gem in the center of hoi an old town. We accidentally found it through google however the experience at this restaurant was really great. The luklak beef and curry shrimp really knocked my girlfriend out. Drinks are also quite diverse and healthy. However what makes this place special was the staff, hong, quyen, tam are very cute and helpful. The rooftop view here is also amazing, especially at sunset. We will definitely come back to this lovely restaurant.

I had the egg coffee and the sugarcane pandan drink which were both amazingly good 👍🏼 It was my first time drinking egg coffee and I am now a huge fan ! Being Malaysian , we are familiar with sugarcane juice but having sugarcane with pandan is a new concept and it really works ! We were at the second floor and I really loved the paintings and furnishings I love the staircase with the stone hand rail , feature chandelier and a large long painting on the staircase wall The green and white floor tiles were very soothing too The roof top had a lovely view of the roofscape of Hoi An ! Staff were attentive and patient too Highly recommend this place !

We absolutely loved our coffee making workshop with Vinh. He was incredibly entertaining, knowledgeable, friendly and kind. He told us some wonderful stories about him growing up around coffee and of course helped us make some delicious coffees. Highly recommend the workshop, it’s on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 2pm.

Read about this shop. Unfortunately it was flooded by typhoon and only subsided the day before we landed. Although it has been clean up but the river water level is still high. We could only order and drink in a hurry. Famed Coconut coffee was ok but we like the salty coffee more. We only order 2 cups and share among the 4 of us. It comes to around 800k plus dong per cup. Worth a try.

Despite the heat the cafe is kept cool with fans circulating air. We enjoyed a sponge cake, salted coffee and the citrus magic. The tea was sweet and delicious. Would highly recommend if you’re in the area.

We did the coffee workshop with Vinh and had such an amazing time! I highly recommend you do this class when you are in Hoi An! We learned how to make 4 different types of coffees including condense milk, salted, and coconut (2 ways)! We learned so much about coffee and the coffee culture in Vietnam! Disappointing Experience: Overpriced Drinks and Abysmal Service The "order and pay" policy felt particularly galling given the complete lack of service and bad customer service that followed (in an empty cafe). We paid a hefty price for our drinks, only to be largely ignored. Beers were around 130,000 VND, and the wine was ridiculously expensive for what amounted to barely half a glass. Such prices are completely unjustifiable when coupled with zero table service. Ultimately, I cannot recommend this cafe at all. It's a clear tourist trap that prioritizes extracting high prices while offering a truly terrible experience. I certainly won't be coming back.

This blew me away. Very good. Very professional, lots of information and fun. I learnt a lot more than I expected and came away keen to try some more things, even though I come from Melbourne Australia which prides itself on its coffee culture. Highly recommended.

Such a fun experience! We took a class on learning how to make coffee. The class had a really nice, relaxed atmosphere, and the hosts were warm and welcoming; Vinh was great!! We learned not only how to make Vietnamese coffee but also a lot about their culture and traditions. A great way to spend the afternoon in Hoi An. Highly recommend.

Lovely cafe with beautiful view over the vegetable garden I only tried their orange juice so I cannot comment on the coffee drinks. The pastrami sandwich was not cheap by Vietnamese standards (170k) but it was delicious. The cafe is very well shaded and was pleasant even in the hot afternoon

been here so many times. Pricing is valueable to the services and products compare to same level cafe in Hoi An. There construction is invested nicely with a wooden house. Restroom is clean, convinient and spacious. The drink is about 70k/ unit but it worth because the staff is supportive even they not show the friendliness too much but what I expect for is the caring and they did a great job! If you confused this with some other famous brands, let’s go to Slow! By the way the Tra Que view is so amazing!

Best cafe in Hoi An! This space is beautiful and perfectly designed with a range of seating options. There’s nothing better than sipping a perfectly brewed coffee whilst watching the the daily hustle and bustle in Tra Que village. The music is always on point and baked goods delicious. It located hidden place at traque area, quite and remote Hoian Oldtown. It served almost kinds of coffee like cappuccino, lattte and ... but not local and speciality coffee. Thier bean is good Arabica bean and good coffee machine and nice garden with big trees. However, it is difficulty way to come and not comfortable seat. Try at once if you want to look for strange place and experience .

Absolutely stunning little café in the heart of the Tra Que Vegetable Village between Hoi An and An Bang Beach. Get there early in the morning if you’d like a spot at 1 of the 3 tables on the front porch. They are the best seats in the house overlooking the vegetable village. It is a mandatory stop while in Hoi An for a delightful and relaxing experience.

I thought this would be a café with rice field views, but it only overlooks a small vegetable garden. Because there are a lot of plants, expect mosquitoes. Not suitable for large groups — if you happen to talk a bit loudly, staff may come over to remind you to keep it down. There are a few nice corners for photos. Drinks are just okay, nothing special.

One of the most serene cafe spaces in Hoi An. They make every drink with love and it shows :) We sat here for more than three hours overlooking the beautiful water view, plants, and succulents. For sunny times, they have a shaded area with fans that’s perfect to relax. We had fresh orange juice, coconut coffee, yogurt and passion fruit smoothie, and salt coffee (which they made much less sweet than usual on my request). We are definitely coming here again. Wish we had discovered this cafe slightly earlier on the trip.

You’re required to order at least one drink per person to go upstairs — but trust me, it’s absolutely worth it! The view from the top is stunning, offering a full panorama of Hoi An’s ancient town. I tried the coconut coffee and recommend having it as the café suggests (I asked for less sugar and it wasn’t as good😅). The café is easy to find and definitely worth a visit! 😊

Had Coconut coffee there and it was great. The environment on the 2nd floor impresses me. Being alone there on a rainy afternoon, it gives me a very soulful ambience amidst a traditional Vietnamese environment to write a lengthy letter (which I have not done in ages). A rather touristy place as everyone wants to get the view at the roof. That being said, I personally think it’s worth doing as you get to see a very new perspective of hoi an. I took a seat at the second floor and it was very relaxing overlooking the busy street. The coffee is, indeed, pricier than other places but it’s required to get access upstairs.

Decent food, first time we went the chips were amazing. Second time we went the chips were still a bit raw. Maybe we just got unlucky. Cool interior with a selection of free sauces and wide selection of drinks.

We came to Dingo Deli after craving gluten free pizza over the last few months travelling, and it more than cured that!! The pizza was so so yummy, and my boyfriend (who isn’t gluten free and had a regular base) said it was also his best pizza so far! I also got a gluten free carrot cake to go, which was lush!

I'm staying in Da Nang, however when I saw the menu and the pics, I had to come. I needed some western breakfast and they met all my expectations. The service, food, atmosphere, everything was great. I can't wait to come back.

Only ate half, and they gave me a little fruit salad to apologize for the over cooked eggs & you can see quite clearly these eggs were not poached but cooked in a cup or microwave.. top dollar low quality unfortunately. Refund would have been more appropriate. I don't travel to whinge or create stress.. but I won't return to places that don't live up to the hype.

You must visit dingo deli for the fabulous gluten free food. They have a separate menu with plenty of choice. They can also bake gluten free bread within a few hours of ordering. Excellent staff and service

We came here from a recommendation to get the chicken Caesar wrap. When we got here we couldn’t help ourself but order the pastrami sandwich also and go half and half. We didn’t think much of the wrap but the pastrami sandwich however.. amazing. We came back a second day just for it. At 159K you can’t go wrong with the size of this thing, it’s massive! And super tasty. Over all the restaurant is clean and staff are friendly and give great service. Since here is a lot of westernised food it is a bit pricier however, still affordable. Would recommend if you’re missing home comforts such as bangers and mash or a chilli con carne. I even managed to find a Dr Pepper which was a blessing after travelling around Asia for a few months. They offer a wide range of gluten free options even desserts.

This restaurant was puzzling to me because going in I thought it would be more of a small mom-and-pop cafe style restaurant I was expecting moderately nice American/Chinese cuisine and that would have been more than sufficient to have me want to return. I was shocked however to find this place isn't turning out your average Americanized Chinese food oh no this place is making exceptionally high quality food fresh to order in an open kitchen and it rivals some of the top Chinese restaurants I have experienced around the world. From this humble little restaurant I was served extraordinary balanced complex entrees that were sweet without being cloying that were spicy without being overwhelming that allowed the natural savory qualities of the proteins to come forward in a perfect balance. I was stunned by how incredible the food was how nice the staff was and the depth and breadth of the menu itself was perfect. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

The Mate Restaurant might not be in the busy Old Town of Hoi An, but trust me, it is absolutely worth hopping in a Grab and heading to the beachside for this one. Just had a wonderful meal here. Highly recommend it. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. It was great tasting food and a wonderful advocate for Vietnameese cuisine. This was some of the best food I had while in Vietnam. They also offer vegetarian and vegan options, as well as gluten free.

We were sceptical when we read the reviews, as there are so many bogus 5 star reviews in Vietnam. However this place deserves 6 stars. The owners are amazing, the food was incredible and we only stopped in for a beer! This place really lives up to the ratings and is an absolute must visit family run restaurant.

Where do I start?! This place is sooo good. The owners are so welcoming and wonderful. The food is amazing - I mostly chose from the Chinese inspired menu and it was delicious. We went here 4 times during our stay and wish they could cook me dinner every night. Was sceptical about the 5* but they really do live up to it. Thank you for making us feel so welcome.

We ate here for lunch as part of a My Son Sanctuary tour that is run by Kanh, the owner (Mate Hoi An Tours). The lunch was amazing! All fresh and tasty and cooked right in front of us by his lovely wife. They are welcoming and down to earth. Do them and yourself a favour and go try it!!

I came here 15 years ago with my family, I was 16 and my dad felt it was the only place that did good food…we went there every single day for lunch whilst in Hoi An. Returning and seeing that Thy has also set up a tailoring business, but kept the cafe running made me so happy! I sat down and the street was buzzing with activity. It was a great way to reset before wandering around the streets again. I ordered the chicken Bahn mi and a Vietnamese iced coffee, it was all great. Although I haven’t been back as I’ve been trying to experience some other places, I will be back again one day! And I love walking by and seeing people sitting there with their families or on their own just enjoying the people watching.

Great location for watching the busy world of Hoi An go by, good value, coffee for the location in the middle of old town across from the river and location markets. I highly recommend their authentic egg coffee, and the Vietnamese ice milk coffee has a nice glass appeal.

Decided to go for one of their signature coffees, and opted for the coconut green rice ice coffee, it was like drinking rice pudding and totally delicious. I was looking for a place to have a nice coffee. I came across cong caphe as their reviews were nice so I decided to go there. I ordered vietnamese cold coffee, It was really very good. Worth it! Also the ambience was great!

We ordered a Flat White, Hojicha Bubble Tea, and Vietnamese coffee with milk (cà phê sữa). The coffee they serve is of high quality and delicious. Despite being tasty, the Vietnamese coffee was a bit disappointing as it was extremely tiny so just so you are aware before you order it. It's a good place for remote work with a quick Wi-Fi. The staff is polite.

I’ve had drinks from this café many times, but the last two visits were disappointing. The first time, I ordered matcha and the café added sugar without asking. Why not ask the customer first? The next time, I felt the café was very inconsistent with its policies. I respect hygiene and safety rules, including the “no food inside” policy, and I never bring outside food into cafés. But I witnessed another customer being asked to go outside and eat on the street, while at another table, a group of girls freely took out snacks from their bags and ate comfortably—even as the staff served their drinks. Meanwhile, the staff themselves brought food into the bar area to eat. Doesn’t the smell affect the drinks being made? The drinks are acceptable — pure roasted coffee, simple and easy-to-choose menu. However, the outdoor seating area smells strongly of food from the nearby restaurant. The air-conditioned room is extremely cold, with fans blowing hard and no way to turn them down. The restroom is clean, but the rusty metal latch is very stiff; it hurts your hand when trying to unlock it. What if someone with weaker hands couldn’t open it? Even though there were several staff members, finished tables weren’t cleared for new customers; the staff just stood around awkwardly, looking into space as if searching for something, then walked back inside. Honestly, apart from using good ingredients, the café’s service touchpoints are careless and not worth the price of 70–75K per drink in Hoi An. A truly incomplete experience.

Love this coffee shop, I came back few times while I was in Hoi An. The place have good vibes good design and nice atmosphere overall with place in the open air and place with air-con. They have nice beans selection and the roast it self was very good, I ended up buying a bag of beans. Also very good pastries.

I found this place in Saigon and visited multiple times during my trip. They mentioned they had one in Hoi An so I had to stop in while here. Absolutely the same wonderful experience!! This place does in fact have the best egg coffee of all. Its perfect. Upstairs is a quiet work space and a book exchange library. Staff is super friendly. It’s in Old Town yet off a block or two making it feel quiet and less crowded which was a nice treat.

What a hidden gem! This is our favorite cafe we visited in Hoi An - staff were kind, food and coffee was good, price was very cheap. They also gave away postcards and wallets which was a really really nice touch. The atmosphere was also very nice and we would have spent hours in this cafe. Will visit again when we come back!

During the class, I learned how to identify different types of coffee beans, including robusta, arabica, and even the unique Vietnamese weasel coffee—made from beans that have passed through the digestive system of the civet. I also got hands-on experience crafting a variety of Vietnamese coffee drinks: - Drip coffee - Vietnamese white coffee - Egg coffee - Coconut coffee - Salt coffee (a beloved local favorite) Huong and Oanh went beyond just brewing—they demonstrated and explained the entire roasting process, offering insights into how flavor profiles are developed. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the class and gained a wealth of knowledge. It was both fun and enriching!

We did the coffee making class here and it was perfect. We made egg and salt coffee and they tasted delicious and looked amazing (if I do say so myself) all thanks to our wonderful teachers. Would highly recommend. Even got the recipes and a certificate!

Me and my partner did the coffee making experience and it was amazing, we were both able to pick 2 of our own different coffees. Our teacher was very insightful and we learnt a lot about the different beans and the process they go through. We then brewed coffee and tasted it and then learnt the process of both salt and egg coffees and how they are made. I couldn’t recommend the course more!

My friends and I done the 2 course coffee making class and it was brilliant! Thi our amazing barista and coffee making tutor explained in detail about the coffee beans and various teas sold in store. We all made the egg coffee first which was very interesting and we were delighted with our result. I then selected the coconut coffee as I’m a coconut lover and again Thi done an amazing job explaining how to make it. Overall fabulous experience and highly recommend.

I did the coffee course with a friend, we jsut rocked up and asked if we could do it and the staff we're so kind and accommodating. We learnt to make egg coffee and coconut coffee. Huong was so patient and kind, we even got certificates to say what we learnt!

Cute cafe tucked away, lovely service. Had the gluten free toast with avocado, tomato pesto & egg, very yum! Also the coconut vegan coffee was very bitter with an odd after taste but the lady explained it’s due to the vegan condensed milk not being very sweet. I would say it’s overpriced for what it is, we paid nearly 500K VND for the avo toast & one granola bowl with juice and coffee. Pistachio chocolate tart was vegan and gluten free and was so delicious!

This cafe is amazing!!! So, I was in Hoi An for a week, and after finding this cafe a couple of days in, I returned to this cafe everyday! This was my favourite western style cafe that I went to during my 3 month trip around SE Asia. The owner is super sweet and lovely. I tried almost everything on the menu; it was all mouthwatering. What I ate was better than a lot of the cafes back home in the UK. I loved the cakes, and smoothies too, and the coffee was out of this world! A big part of why I kept returning besides the delicious food was the vibes. This cafe had THE BEST music I heard during my whole trip. They were playing the likes of Patti Smith, Bob Dylan, Arlo Parks, Nick Cave, Fleetwood Mac. The cafe has a laid back inviting atmosphere, and a friendly dog who chills by the books. Also another little detail: really nice little W.C. which has a fan in it, so you don’t overheat whilst going to the loo. I wish I had this cafe on my doorstep now I’m back home. It is such a gem!

We discovered Tamy while looking for a seat to do online meeting. During lunchtime, there isn't much noise. It has 3 levels, comfortable seating, cute decor, a piano and fine drinks. The service is quite good. When I arrived last winter, the 2nd-floor areas had a bit of a rainwater leak. Hope they have fixed it. Still recommend for family because of the location. Thanks!

Cozy and spacious coffee shop that has good speaker and nice songs. It’s a good place to sit down and read a book or something after spending time in hectic and crowded Hoi An. Coffees taste less traditional, fried spring rolls are crispy and yummy. They accept credit card and there’re power sockets all over the place which is a bonus!

Just a normal coffee shop in the old town of Hoian that offer rooftop view of the ancient houses. That’s reason why people just want to check in and take photos, not really enjoying drinks. What I don’t like here is that they still use the plastic straws, which are not proper for Hoian Eco city

I went to this place twice while in Hoi an. Is really nice and colorful. Food is great, maybe a bit pricey but I enjoyed it. The view is also nice and they have a rooftop on the third floor.

A cool and quiet little cafe on the river away from old town. It has a beautiful view and is well shaded for those really hot days. Excellent juice and breakfast/brunch/lunch options. I had the pineapple and passion fruit juice which was made fresh. and the salmon and poached eggs which was bursting with fresh tasty ingredients. Value for money is also excellent.

Lovely spot right on the river, even on a grey drizzly day. Best lunch so far in Hoi An. I had the chicken tacos which were amazing, so fresh and tasty. Came with an awesome home made spicy sauce too 😍 Had a ‘yellow’ smoothie too which was jam packed with fresh mango on the top,m and passion fruit and was almost a meal in itself. All that for 150k vnd. And the lady serving was very lovely too. Can highly recommend and will hopefully return before I leave.

we literally love this cafe we have gone mad and been here about five times in the past couple days!! the juices are HUGE, DELICIOUS, and cheaper than anywhere else we’ve seen in hoi an!! Tung is the new manager and he was very friendly and welcoming. We got espresso martinis as the sunset was changing the night sky over the roof line. The atmosphere was incredible. We got espresso martinis and they were delicious and well priced. Would go again!

Really lovely spot in Hoi An. The prices are relatively steep, but the drinks are good. The tea drinks with foam are kind of unique - I got the lemon lavender one and really enjoyed it. They have indoor and outdoor seating - feels airy and like a nice escape from some of the tourist chaos outside.

If you’re into coffee this is the place. Their coffee is carefully roasted in Saigon, and they’ve got a range of different single origins to try. Best coffee in Vietnam so far! 👏👏👏
