Cafe
Coffee shop
Manu Coffee is a well-liked local chain with trendy, tucked-away cafes in various parts of Fukuoka City. Its rough-minimalist style appeals to both locals and tourists, offering a range of unique drinks like Vanilla Wasanbon Latte, Green Cafe Latte, Portland Mocha, and Mogwai. The baristas are friendly and English-speaking, providing an extensive selection of single-origin medium-roast coffee.
Good stop after walking around a bit in the Tenjin neighborhood. Smooth medium coffee with fruity flavored profile. The plum candy was surprisingly refreshing with just right amount of sweetness to balance out the bitterness of the coffee. Friendly staff too. About 14 seats max.
DANNY L — Google review
Very good coffee. I had the Kenya iced coffee and the vanilla sugar latte and both were superb. I bought some beans to take home and I'm looking forward to brewing them! The staff are super friendly and helpful. They have an English menu.
Christopher H — Google review
Loved this spot in Fukuoka! Great coffee, smooth and rich, just the way it should be. The space is cool and stylish, perfect for hanging out or getting a bit of work done. Service was fast and friendly, even when it was busy. A solid choice if you're in the area and want quality coffee in a laid-back setting.
Phil L — Google review
I ordered manu mocha, and it was amazing taste. The beans are roasted in house as well as the chocolate was handmade. The service is fantastic and I love chatting with Ayaka who is super friendly and amazing host.
Thurha R — Google review
The cocoa was very good and the whip cream was delicious, the iced coffee wasn’t strong enough but overall all a really cute place for a nice morning/ afternoon drink.
Gaya — Google review
Very good coffee, with good vibes café. Came twice for their coffee. Tried their cheesecake and butter toast, good for late night coffee or breakfast in the morning. The staff is also very friendly. In addition, they sell coffee beans too, for those coffee lovers who made their own coffee
Choo M — Google review
Located at the corner of two intersecting road, the yellow background and black store name is quite eye-catching to notice. Majority of the items are coffee but still there are some food items including toast, cake and biscuits. Although it was early morning at 09:00 but there are customers keep joining the queue. I ordered the toast (which is for Dine-in only) and it is toasted very well with rich butter flavor. It is quite soft for the core but yet crispy for the outer. The latte is speciality with vanilla caramel flavor and the coffee flavor is not very strong, but the mixture of other flavors makes it quite well balanced.
Eric C — Google review
Very average coffee per se but for the general Fukuoka scene it’s above average. A lack of options on the size of the coffee, everything has to be a latte and the foam was far too full for pleasant drinking. The art is about the only good thing, style over substance.

Cafe
Nestled in the heart of Fukuoka, REC COFFEE Hakata Marui Shop is a must-visit for coffee enthusiasts and casual drinkers alike. Founded by two-time Japan Barista Champion Yoshikazu Iwase in 2010, this specialty coffee shop prides itself on its meticulous approach to sourcing and brewing exceptional single-origin beans. With a commitment to quality that has earned it numerous accolades, REC COFFEE has become a beloved spot among locals and tourists.
Stumbled upon this branch while inside a department store on the 6F. Although it’s tucked away with some other shops, the atmosphere was lovely. The staff were very friendly and even gave me some tips on the Hakata dialect! The coffee had so much depth in flavour and wasn’t overly roasted. I had a Cafe Latte but my wife had the Espresso Banana Shake — I wish I had also got that! Delicious.
Michael P — Google review
This cafe is located in a bustling shopping mall, which can get a bit crowded and noisy—especially with sounds from the nearby bookstore. If you're someone who prefers a quiet atmosphere, this might not be the best spot for you. That said, the coffee was pretty good! As a sucker for window seats, I was thrilled to find another one here. The highlight of my visit was definitely the staff; the lady who served me was incredibly kind and friendly! (-:

Was looking for a coffee to for a quick recharge during shopping, this really served my purpose. I ordered an iced oat latte and it tasted really good. Guess that’s why the coffee shop is pretty busy with small queue.
Ma C — Google review
Great coffee inside the OI OI building, 6th floor. Had the honey latte and the brown sugar latte. Regular milk and oat milk option as well. Really lovely staff and great view :)
Annapaola I — Google review
It took quite some time to find the place—it’s located at KITTIE ioio. Finding the Marui shop was especially challenging; only the locals seem to know where it is. I really liked that they offer free coffee when you purchase 200g of beans, plus you get to try some coffee too!
Glor J — Google review
Great cappuccino! The cheesecake is good but doesn't taste like pumpkin.
Linda R — Google review
The highest level of coffee in Japan. Most people only know that it is a place with a beautiful view. The Brazil I drank today is a new world. When I come here, I drink Ethiopia.
Platinum G — Google review
• The cafe is on the 6th floor of the HAKATA MARUI mall and has a few seats, though it’s usually busy with both locals and tourists. To use the seating area, the staff ask that each person orders at least one item. • The coffee is fantastic, made with quality beans and served with top-notch service. I ordered the house blend, and it was delicious even without using any special beans. • The custard pudding was also aromatic and tasty, with a smooth texture and a light sweetness. Paired with cream and syrup, it was just perfect!

Coffee shop
FUK Coffee is a trendy cafe located just south of Tenjin Central Park in Fukuoka, Japan. The cafe pays homage to the city's airport with its name, which is the IATA code for Fukuoka Airport. The interior features airplane-related design motifs and exudes a Brooklyn streetwear store vibe. This artisan coffee shop offers a variety of pourover and espresso drinks made with fine beans, along with fruity seasonal flavors and baked snacks.
Ordered today's special "purple yam latte" which was quite good, and I'm not usually a huge fan of coffees. Their specialty pudding tastes decadent with the black sugar, but I didn't feel it was anything special. I think their name definitely gives them the hype. We visited 30 mins before closing time and it was not busy that late in the day. Located right next to the MRT exit so I recommend if you're closeby and need a quick pick me up later in the day.
Mel — Google review
We saw a queue formed in the morning but passing in the afternoon there was no queue so we went inside. There are maybe 8 small tables, mostly occupied but one by the window was vacant. But seating for the window tables is basically an 8" pipe. The rather sombre girl on the counter told us that we would not be allowed to change seat later should another become free. I am not sure why we would not be allowed to move and she never offered an explanation. We ordered a hot americano, an iced vanilla latte and one caramel pudding with ice cream. These were prepared and brought to our table as we waited, perched on the pipe. The americano was good, a dark roast with good mouthfeel. The vanilla latte was average but nothing special. That's also our feeling about the pudding - bland and unremarkable. The ice cream was pleasant though.
Norman B — Google review
I waited for half an hour outside hot and sweaty. Finally when it was my turn to get in the shop, the staff asked me if a window seat was ok. I said yes because there were no other seats available at that time. But look at the seat. WHO DESIGNS SEATS LIKE THIS?? It's more like a fence, not a proper seat. How can your customers sit comfortably in THAT?? After I received my drink and pudding, some customers left and there was a table available. I asked the staff if I could move and he said no. Though he was polite, I thought it was unfair. And then the next 2-3 customers who just came into the store immediately got the table without having to wait AT ALL while I had to wait and sweat outside to get a horrible seat. And when there were more than one table available, I was not allowed to move to get a decent seat. And people after me were lucky to arrive just in time for comfortable seats. You just don't care about your customers at all. So disappointed from all the walk and all the wait. I took a couple of bites and left the shop. P.S. they charge you 10 yen more if you would like a straw for your drink. Will never come back again.
Sasipat I — Google review
Tried the pudding at FUK Coffee — the texture was a bit firm and not as soft as expected when scooping. The ice cream was okay, not too sweet, but nothing particularly special. Overall, a little bit disappointed; it feels more like a marketing gimmick than something memorable in taste. Worth trying once for the experience.
Karen W — Google review
Ordered hojicha latte and matcha latte for takeaway, but they gave me coffee instead of hojicha. By the time I drank my hojicha latte and found out it was the wrong order, I have already left place. Matcha latte is good, standard Japanese matcha latte, coffee is good too, standard. Only two staff making and taking orders so took quite a long time although there weren’t many people in store.
Tina T — Google review
While I really enjoyed the flan pudding—it was soft, creamy, and had just the right amount of sweetness—the overall experience at this café left much to be desired. The drinks were underwhelming; my latte tasted more like watered-down milk with just a hint of coffee, and at over $4.50 USD for what seemed like a single shot of espresso, it felt overpriced. The baristas weren’t particularly friendly and didn’t allow any customizations, which made the service feel rigid. The café itself was also quite disorganized and messy. To make things more frustrating, when we went to pay, we were told there was a two-drink minimum per person—a completely ridiculous rule, especially since there was no signage or communication about it beforehand. It just made the whole experience feel unwelcoming and unnecessarily strict.
Pika C — Google review
Not sure what are all the fuss about this place. To me it’s an ordinary contemporary café that serve good coffee and dessert, tried their famous pudding with ice cream, their pudding was a bit firmer with stronger eggy scent and taste to it rather than soft and creamy from butter milk. Still a good place to visit for a short break to grab a quick bite or drink. Come and get FUK (Coffee) and begone!!
Otto L — Google review
We dropped by on a weekday around midday , no wait, and still a few seats available. The coffee was absolutely spot on, definitely worth a try☺️☺️ The pudding wasn’t bad, but way too sweet , even my American mates thought it was over the top

NO Coffee is a trendy, industrial-style cafe that offers artisan coffees and roasted beans, as well as branded merchandise. The Fukuoka-based establishment was founded in 2013 and has since expanded to include a coffee bar in the city. The cafe's concrete interior provides a cool respite from hot summer days, and the staff are known for their friendliness.
I’ve seen this coffee shop pop up on varies social media channel. It’s a very cool neighborhood coffee spot. It is small and maybe 5 seatings. We ordered a matcha espresso and wow it was delicious! I also liked some of their branded merch. Check out next door for some local artisan treats.

Visited on 6/5/2025. Attended by a female Baristar and a male staff who showed me the merchanise and volunteer to pose for me to take a picture of the Tshirt n bag. Enjoy the atmosphere and the coffee. Thanks.

The coffee was very unique and you can tell they are all about great designs! Had a look at their design book and realized that they always to collaboration with other artists! Check out their stickers and merchandises - a great way to remember this little unique coffee shop 😬

Very stylish coffee shop with industrial design, not many seatings available. You need to walk some distance to reach the shop, and the entrance not very obvious. Tried their black latte with bamboo charcoal, taste amazing. They do sell some merchandise, can see it’s a bit pricy, but good quality stuffs. Worth to try

Came for their signature coffee. But the shop isn't close to the heart of the tourism place, we came on the day with a car rental. Coffee is good!!! 👍

Very stylish coffee shop with industrial interior. Not only enjoyed their coffee but fell in love with their brand merchandises. A bit pricey but definitely worth it. Ended up spending around 10000yen😅

A nice little designer goods/coffee shop. The big concrete slabs sure feel nice during hot summer days. The staff was friendly and the Cappuccino that I had was pretty good although a tad bit on the weaker side. The place isn't located near my stomping grounds so it'll be a bit hard to test the consistency of the brews but I'll post an edit when I can.

Great Little Coffee Stop! Stopped by this cozy little coffee spot for a quick drink and restroom break, and it was perfect. The place is small but inviting, with a warm atmosphere and friendly staff. Cafe
Coffee County Fukuoka is a renowned coffee shop located in Takasago, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City. It houses a roaster in Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture and offers an array of coffee options such as drip coffee with customizable bean choices, today's special, espresso, latte, and unique beverages like Espresso Soda. The shop also serves craft beer and showcases coffees from various countries with a focus on sharing the stories of the farmers and production areas.
Lovely little coffee shop. You can tell the staff love what they do by the coffee they make ☺️ Had a cold hand drip and got a recommendation on the coffee beans (you can select which one you would like). It was light and fruity, full of flavour but gentle and easy to drink. The cookie was also delicious, I was tempted to get another one.
Mei C — Google review
The drip coffee master has got to be the most consistent coffee brewer I’ve ever come across! He was single handedly doing all the manual brew coffee, other staff only help with packaging & order placement. We chose the Rwanda coffee beans as a V60 ice coffee and tasted all the notes! We came around 4pm so it was peak hours and the line in front of the register is long. The person handling the register can be a bit more efficient tbh, but not a major problem.
Jess M — Google review
Very well-balanced and beautiful place. The small café fulfills the wishes of coffee lovers and impresses with good quality and friendly service. There is a small shop in the entrance area and you can order at the counter, with the option of an aromatic tasting and choice of roast. I particularly liked the café because it was pleasantly quiet without being boring.
ZEIT D — Google review
You can’t miss this if you like coffee. Few light roast coffee to choose and other roast level. Full and balanced from the beginning to the last drop. Locate in quiet place and you can do some reading and enjoy the nice paintings. I ordered a piece of pudding as well. It’s amazing! You know it’s pudding but tasted like cheese cake.

Nestled in the vibrant back streets of Daimyo, Carbon Coffee is an independent coffee bar that perfectly blends a minimalist aesthetic with a lively atmosphere. This charming café not only serves up delicious espresso-based drinks but also offers a delightful selection of sandwiches and baked goods, making it an ideal spot for a light snack. The interior is adorned with bright neon signs and showcases local art exhibitions, providing visitors with insight into the creative pulse of the area.
A cozy little café featuring a charming art exhibition in a distinct anime style. Both the latte and decaf coffee were good. The sandwich was just okay, but the soft, chill music and relaxed vibe made the experience thoroughly enjoyable.

Small and cozy coffee shop and art gallery/shop. Good music in the background and general atmosphere, just a little off the main road. It's good to take a snack and a quick rest. You can also buy some stickers and merchandise

Been here three times, twice dine-in and once take-out :) Service is friendly. They also feature art works from different artists. Had the pleasure of meeting one last month which was a very happy experience. Got their iced latte which tasted really good, just the right amount of milk. Apple juice was also okay! Tried their espresso tonic and dirty matcha before (matcha with espresso). Preferred their matcha espresso :) Will definitely come back when I'm in the area!
Kelsey T — Google review
The place looks nice but the atmosphere inside feels kinda dark and not so positive. I ordered matcha latte and this is in my opinion not place for matcha. I didn’t enjoy it much
V — Google review
Cute little coffe spot, including a gallery with art from Japanese artists. Very laid back atmosphere :)
Herzflimmern — Google review
The coffee is okay, it tasted a bit too milky for it to be a double shot so it's fair to say that it was a bit weak for my tastes. Maybe this is for people who like super light roast? The service was great and welcoming. The shop has a nice relaxing feel to it and there is something upstairs that I have yet to explore.

Best Matcha latte I’ve had so far. Absolutely amazing. I had to get a second one. Sadly I do not live in Fukuoka but anytime I’m here this will be my go to coffee spot. Thank you so much.
Nelson M — Google review
Absurdly awful cup of coffee, dirty, sticky tables & questionable ‘art’ taped to the wall in a space that smells like toilet air freshener and feels like a popup designed to milk visitors to the area. Sandwich made with cheap ingredients & slapped together but expensive at ¥850. Disaster on every front & now I question previous positive reviews. Much better coffee available nearby

Manly Coffee is a hidden gem in Fukuoka, offering a world-class coffee experience. Since its establishment in 2008, the team has been deeply involved in the coffee industry, organizing championships and participating in roasting retreats around the world. The shop's dedication to quality is evident from seed to cup, with an emphasis on bean origins and meticulous brewing techniques. Despite its small size, Manly Coffee delivers exceptional service and high-quality beverages.
Such a lovely place that serves exquisite clean and light roasted coffee. (Using Loring Nighthawk Roasting machine) The whole vibes sort of reminds me of STYLE COFFEE in Kyoto. Baristas were very attentive and you can try their sample cups before order your menu. Make sure to grab a coffee bag on the way out, you won’t regret.

It was slightly difficult to find from the main road (see video) but I'm glad I found Manly Coffee. Tucked in a small corner, finding this lovely white cafe is like a gem. Lovely, friendly, and knowledgeable barista who serves good light roast coffee. Try their milk brew too, quite an interesting concept to steep the coffee in milk. And while you're here check out the curry shop -floatan - next door for lunch!

Had a fantastic breakfast at Manly, an Australian-run café that quickly became one of the standouts of my trip. I’ve always had good experiences with Aussie-style cafés, and this one was no exception. I ordered the ricotta pancakes, which were absolutely delicious—light, fluffy, and perfectly balanced with just the right amount of sweetness. I also had the black sesame latte, which was smooth, unique, and a surprisingly great match with the meal. The ambiance was casual and lively, with a relaxed, welcoming energy. It was quite busy when I visited, so I’d recommend making a reservation if you’re going during peak hours. Great food, friendly service, and a cool café vibe—Manly is a solid breakfast or brunch destination that I’d gladly return to.

A very hidden specialty coffee shop near Hirao station. The coffee they have is very nice and aeropress/filter process. Good selection to choose from with different varieties of origin and process. Very small intimate seating there.

If you're a coffee fan, and you did yourself in Fukuoka, make it a point to get here. As other reviewers have noted, it's a bit tricky to find from the street; look for a narrow alley. It'll almost feel like you're walking into someone's backyard but keep going and MANLY is just around the bend. The atmosphere in the shop is immaculate - bright and cheerful, clean, and oozing with care and charm. The proprietor is a delight and is clearly absolutely passionate about the craft of coffee. The shop roasts everything in-house, and sells bags of beans as well as prepared Aeropress or espresso drinks. I'm delighted I made the stop in. Don't miss this roaster. PS: Bring a large group! The shop has an outbuilding with plenty of tables and seating.

i’ll call this a hidden gem because it is really quite hidden, you’ll have to walk through a small alley to find it. the shop itself is small but they have a separate sitting area or you can always enjoy the coffee outdoor on the little bench like i did. i really like the vibe of the shop, how minimalist it is but with a personality. i picked the aeropress with beans from ethiopia. the coffee is smooth and syrupy, wonderful mouthfeel with great fruity fragrance. for any coffee lover, i’ll recommend you to stop by.

Nothing gets safer than a self-roasting coffee shop. Great baristas and steady hands. Had a couple of aeropress coffee as well as espresso-based ones, flavor profile was on point. Don’t miss it. Also grabbed the cinnamon infused Colombia, fabulous.

Cafe
Cafe Bimi is a traditional Japanese coffee house that has been in operation since 1977. It's renowned for serving Nel Drip coffee, a method using a flannel filter to brew the coffee. The interior is adorned with dark wood, exuding a nostalgic and old-fashioned charm that takes visitors back to Japan's early days of embracing coffee culture. The cafe offers in-house roasted beans and an extensive menu of drip coffees, making it a must-visit for coffee enthusiasts.
Beautiful building, cute coffee roaster on the main floor, charming cafe on the 2nd floor. So Lovely. But be aware, there is some serious coffee making happening here. With a selection of beans from across the planet, at all different price points, coffee is all they make here. (fruitcake is supplied by a bakery) And only one person makes it. She is a master with the flannel filter, and with the bean selection. It is a marvel to watch. We got there half an hour before opening and it was already lined up. Lucky for us that all the other customers chose the tables, as we got to sit at the bar and watch the artistry. She chooses the beans by hand, literally, tossing the less-than-perfect ones aside. Then a precise grind, followed by the pourover. She is so focused - the other staff dare-not say anything during the pour - the 25-30 grams of coffee result in a surprisingly small serving of intense coffee served in a pre-heated and elegant cup with saucer. If you ask for cream, you receive a little creamer so small, you can't help but smile. It holds less than a eyedropper might hold. But it is enough. Don't ask for sugar..... Its a delicious lesson in what coffee can be, maybe even transformative. But it is not quick. This expression of coffee takes time. Be patient, soak up the ambiance while you wait. You will be rewarded! (If you arrive with the opening rush, and 'IF' you can, sit at the bar and order quickly. We were done and finished our coffee before the 2nd table was served...pro tip.)
Chris O — Google review
What makes Cafe Bimi special is that it has been brewing coffee using the Flannel Drip method for over 40 years. Flannel Drip is coffee brewed using a Flannel Filter, and is called Nel Drip in Japan. Flannel Filter is known to produce deeper and more diverse aromas and flavors because it allows the oils in the coffee that cannot pass through paper filters to pass through, but it is also a method that is difficult to find these days because the filter is difficult to manage. The owner of Cafe Bimi, Mr. Morimitsu Muneo (森光宗男), who has passed away, is famous for insisting on the Flannel Drip method for over 40 years since he first opened his cafe in 1977. With his faith and love for the Flannel Drip method, he consistently brewed coffee using the Flannel Drip method and also spread the Flannel Drip method. Now, the wife who worked with Mr. Morimitsu while he was alive has become the second owner and is continuing the tradition of Flannel Drip. The Flannel Drip method is very delicate, so the taste changes depending on who pours it. That's why Cafe Bimi doesn't let just anyone do the drip, but the master herself always pours it. I tried the 'Basic Blend' coffee recommended by the staff, and it was a coffee that anyone can drink without feeling burdened because it had almost no acidity. Then, I tried half of the Fruits Cake that the lady from Tokyo who was sitting next to me at the bar table gave me to try. The Fruits Cake is a pound cake with fruit inside, and the rum and brandy-soaked fruit inside gave a subtle sweetness that refreshed my palate in between cups of coffee. A barista also works next to the master, and I saw him use an ice cutter to cut ice cubes right in front of me, and then pour them into a glass to make iced coffee. I didn't get to taste it this time, but the iced coffee looked really refreshing. I'll definitely have to try the iced coffee next time I visit.

I was very lucky because i found this place without any information. Actually when i saw menu. I though i came in wrong place because i have a sweet tooth. All most of menu is drip coffee that i didn’t expect it. Even my mother also she don’t like bitter coffee. So the server recommend mild roasting coffee for mother and i ordered kind of ice cafe latte. It took some time and then i realized the coffee drip is not same like other coffee shop. Also i feel sorry when they start ice carving for ice coffee. After drink this coffee i find out i also like non sweet coffee. It was great experience. Definitely, i will visit again.

Peaceful quiet cup of well brewed java! Didn't expect to find this coffee haven n it was a surprisingly delightful discovery! Service was excellent, staff were polite n helpful! There was a nice selection of cakes which complimented the coffee. Price was fair considering the ambience n quality. After a stroll at the Temple/Shrine at Roppommatsu, it was a perfect interlude to enjoy some quiet time over coffee n confectionary! Highly recommended as watering hole to get your caffeine fix before more sightseeing. Wide selection of brews available n staff were well informed enough to recommend certain beverages. Atmosphere was restful, contemplative n niche, prices were higher but to be expected judging from the decor n specialities available. Java connoisseurs should definitely give this cafe a stopover 👌

Stereo Coffee is a great spot to recharge after a meal at 柳橋連合市場! Craving a coffee to fully wake myself up for the day, I found it just a quick 5-minute walk from the market, and it wasn’t too hard to locate. I went for their basic Americano which was quite nice—relatively sour, with no bean selection, so I assume it’s just one house blend. Simple but satisfying! The seating is a bit limited, but they do have a shared standing desk, which is a nice touch. On the 2nd floor, they showcase a lot of cool coffee shop-related merchandise and crossover items like T-shirts with unique designs, which are definitely worth checking out. A cozy and stylish spot for coffee lovers—perfect for a quick pick-me-up!

Many is serious about coffee, friendly customer relations and making people feel welcome and comfortable. At this location the upstairs is an ideal social gathering place and serves, also, as a gallery where budding artists can get exposure for their work. My coffee drink was good. The only downside to this location is the constant presence of smoke at the entrance and even inside as you place your order or wait for your drink. Once upstairs, however, I found it to be smoke free and quiet. Definitely worth visiting and might just become your new favorite hangout depending your taste in coffee and ambience. I was impressed to learn how committed the owner is to preserving the environment, recycling his own coffee cup waste and coffee grounds, even planting a garden and some coffee trees to take advantage of all the coffee grounds being produced rather than dispose of them.

Manu is my must-go coffee shop in Fukuoka. I particularly like the Daiymo shop because of the vibe and it opens till late. Espresso is my fav, balanced and smooth. They used to have a huge selection of flavored latte but they have change their menu after covid. The place can get a bit noisy and crowded but that’s what i like about the place. Staffs are all very nice. If you are looking for a quiet classy coffee shop do re-consider, maybe not this particular outlet of manu, or else come by and check it out for a good cup of coffee.

Younger crowd here. The outdoor seating is just as or more popular than the inside seating because you can smoke. The coffee us out decent but the service was really slow and a bit unorganized. There's an English menu if you need it, just ask. The hype around the cheesecake is confirmed. It's good
Kevin K — Google review
I decided to visit this coffee shop based on Google reviews, and it certainly didn't disappoint. Following their menu board's recommendation, I went with the Fujira blend. They serve the coffee in two cups stacked together, which initially seemed like a mistake, but it's actually a clever design to insulate against the heat. The coffee is excellent, with a slight acidity and a refreshing quality. It appears the beans are roasted to a lighter level, perhaps a medium roast. The staff is welcoming, and even if there's a language barrier, the menu is available in English. Lastly, I really appreciate the artistic interior and the relaxed background music they have here.
Narukom S — Google review
The vibe of the cafe is really nice and there were few people even though we came on a Saturday. The playlist was great too. The only reason I gave this a 3 star is cause the prices are quite overpriced (One piece of toast was ¥300). The staff are friendly but not formal so it's a very casual cafe. It's also very English friendly (w an English menu and English speaking staff).

Nestled just a short five-minute stroll from Nishitetsu Yakuin Station, Abeki is a charming café that has carved out its niche in the world of coffee and cheesecake. Originally starting as a mobile coffee vendor, it found its home in an enchanting space reminiscent of a church back in 2005. The ambiance at Abeki is truly one-of-a-kind, with every detail—from the decor to the tableware—reflecting a unique artistic vision.
We stumbled upon this spot in the late afternoon - the sun was pouring in and creating a beautiful glow, highlighting the ethereal space. The barista’s attention and care into making each coffee was really special and we didn’t mind the wait. Overall a beautiful and relaxing experience! Very chill spot for cheesecake and coffee. Must try if you are visiting Fukuoka.
Andy L — Google review
Coffee here is terrific and the cheese cake is fine, but it takes us 50 minutes to get them after we are seated. To be honest I think it's too long to wait. The place is very tiny and can be crowded, so if it's less than half full then it would be good. But if it happens to have some other guests who speaking loudly, they could be ruining the atmosphere awfully. Overall speaking, I think it's a 6.5/10 cafe, but if you're really lucky to be here with no other guests, it would be a 8.5/10 then.
Nihilum — Google review
Waiting was necessary since this cafe is really small. There are 4-5 tables only and the owner/barista of this place handles all of orders by himself. He seems quite busy which is totally understandable. I ordered cheesecake and chocolate cake for each and those both tasted great. In fact the cheesecake was really good I wish I could visit there again. The coffee was not quite strong which I love even more. There wasn’t Cafe Latte, so I ordered Caffe Ole, and I asked Mr. Abeki(the owner) what differentiate for caffe latte and caffe ole. He said and I quote “search on the internet”🙄 That was not professional at all considering him being in charge of this place and making coffee everyday. That sort of let me get the vibe that he made us wait to order about 20 minutes even after we seated and made us to wait everytime we asked for something and rather take care of other (japanese) customer. Regardless, the food was really great but it wasn’t quite comfortable experience visiting this place. Maybe it was just me but a little kindness wouldn’t hurt.
YOO — Google review
The cheese cake is better than most, the coffee is ok, but honestly you come for this man's concept. He is very methodical and you can appreciate his work flow. People take points off for the speed of service but in truth this place is not about speed. It took 30 minutes from the time we sat down to get some cheesecake and coffee and that's what most people will complain about. However, if you to take in the atmosphere and watch the man work it is an enjoyable experience. Everything from the way he places napkins and forks to the hildegard von bingen over the speaker seems to have been thought out. Get here before it opens to avoid a long wait. Even if you manage to get in the door after the first service, expect to wait for your order to be taken. Your choices are cheese cake, chocolate cake or white chocolate cake. Ice coffee, cafe au lait, hot coffee or apple juice.

Love this cafe, went on a Saturday and was happy to see a bench window seat, overlooking the people walking around outside. I ordered matcha+ espresso iced latte, which was so good I ordered another, despite it being afternoon despite me being sensitive to caffeine (worth the late night). We went Saturday morning around 10.30/11 to have breakfast. The place was busy but not full, and there were still quite a few places to sit down. The coffee drinks were lovely and delicious, with perfect latte art 🤩 very impressive barista skills!! We also had some sweets: a chocolate cake and a mont blanc-like dessert with loads of nuts. Also, in this case we were very happy as the sweets were really tasty and decadent. Ultimately, the cafe itself has a super calm and chill vibe, it really makes you want to stay and enjoy the quiet and relaxing atmosphere 😌 personally this was the first café in Fukuoka where I felt super comfy and cozy, definitely going back to taste more coffee drinks and food 😊

Kohisha Noda at Sun Plaza is a delightful coffee shop that serves delicious siphon-brewed coffee. Along with their Sakura blend, they offer a variety of beans and even sell drip bags. While it has gained popularity as a pudding restaurant, the main attraction here is the aromatic coffee. Located in Sun Plaza opposite Hakata Station, it can be easily found by going down the stairs and turning right. If you're a coffee lover, this place is a must-visit!
Excellent refined coffee shop with top notch home roasted coffee blends and a nice toast set served with unsweetened chilled whip cream. The coffee is prepared siphon style.

"A genuine Fukuokan coffee experience." As a Komeda Coffee lover, coming into Coffee Syanoda was a whole new experience altogether. Unlike other places where you will be brought to your seats, feel free to walk in and choose any seat you like. The attendant will come with a menu (or scan the QR code at the table) and make your order. The standout selection was Syanoda's Golden Blend. Deep and rich, with a kick that'll surely give you the energy to get through the day! We loved that they serve their coffees with a side of house-whipped cream. Light bites were also delectable! 10/10 would come again.

Simply delicious toast and solid coffee. Tip: If you're a non-smoker like me, you may request a seat in the non-smoking area for a more comfortable experience.

Ordered 1 cake set and 1 bacon egg lettuce sandwitch. Drank royal milk tea and coffee of the day. The shop was cozy and food were good. They will bring the cakes for you to choose and we chose the green tea egg roll with red bean.

Enjoyed the atmosphere. Coffee and cakes were delicious. Ordered a cup of coffee then felt I want a cake. The waiter will give you a sample of cakes to choose from. Very good and friendly service. Definitely recommend this place. Coffee taste so good much better than Starbucks.

One of the best cups of coffee I've ever had. English and Korean is on the menu already, and I used Papago to translate my questions. This gives a classic coffee house vibe. Don't expect the coffee to come out immediately, as they're making this to order. Well worth the wait and price. I wanted to get coffee to bring home, and they were very helpful in helping me decide and grind the coffee properly. Absolute hidden gem in Fukowoka!

The cappucino is perfect, from taste and looking. The barista makes every cup with all his dedication, you can see when you are in the shop. The dessert is also very good, not too sweet but just right. The staff are very friendly. Will definitely come again!

The coffee was great and I can see care in the food and drink served. However you might wait a while to get your coffee if it’s busy since there is only one barista making the coffee.

Very calm and warm place. The coffee is amazing and the staff highly skilled.

Rather a small sized cafe but serves really great food and drinks. This is a popular cafe for young and old people. If the cafe is packed, be prepared to wait outside which is a little cold considering its fall/winter. The matcha tea was perfect and the roasted green tea as well. Smooth to drink and it's perfect with their dessert. As you can see they have many awards for latte art and it's displayed on the bar side. Definitely will come again

My soy latte was just perfect, made with espresso and steamed fresh soy milk. Creamy texture and a slightly nutty flavor. Soy latte is also a good option for those who are lactose intolerant or following a vegan diet. I can easily see why this coffee is very well know and popular in Japan, because the decorative designs created by a really high skill baristas. He’s extremely high skill with variety of designs, including hearts, flowers styles and so on. You can easily admired so many awards, prizes this cafe must to achieve really high quality and barista showcased their skills and creativity in creating intricate designs in their coffee drinks just in front of you. The cafe is very cozy, calm vibe and be prepared for wait a bit outside.. I’m so glad to this high quality barista coffee in Japan, same level or even better quality than many barista shops style in Melbourne, Australia. 100% recommended

White Glass Coffee, a cafe by Green Bean To Bar Chocolate, offers a delightful blend of light meals, delectable sweets, and robust coffee. Conveniently located just a short walk from Canal City and Hakata Station, it's an ideal spot for visitors in the area. The cafe prides itself on serving single-origin coffee and crafting all food items on-site. Customers rave about the quality breakfast options such as yogurt with fruit and muesli set, toast sets, and avocado toast sets.
Cosy little cafe with great drinks and cakes. Their Basque cheesecake was nice but the tiramisu was the standout. It even looked like an art piece. The rosemary lemon soda I had was so refreshing and balanced in taste. It felt like Japanese meticulous precision in a soda. We didn’t have any of the mains, but they looked really good.

We visit this coffee shop as it is located around our hotel in Fukuoka. Turned out the coffee is so good. Had the hot cappucino, tried both the dark and light options, both are really good. Not sour at all, good for my morning boost! They also sell coffee beans and offer tax free for tourist, will buy it on my last day here. Good atmosphere and nice baristas.

Good coffee good food friendly wait staff. Can't same the same about the barista though hehe. Wouldn't do a cortado. Why not?! Still a nice place though. Gets full on a weekend so wake up early and go if you plan on visiting. If no lines, would actually be a very nice place to sit, chill and read a book in the fall or winter. But I couldn't!! Too many people waiting for a table so had to leave right after eating. Should I just have stayed anyway??

Visited in 2023, since then, come back every year. The best latte I have ever had. Creamy, smooth, thick crema, perfect refined taste, complex yet balanced. Magical! Still the same quality after 2 years.

Stopped by this afternoon for a latte and a tiramisu - both were absolutely delicious. The place has such a cozy, friendly vibe, and the service was amazing. Big shoutout to Gin, who was super kind and helped me when I spilled a bit of my coffee, even offering to make me a new one. The tiramisu was perfectly balanced and the coffee tasted really fresh. Definitely coming back!

Stopped by White Glass Coffee and was seriously impressed. The chocolate cake is rich, moist, and not too sweet—just the way it should be. Pairs perfectly with their smooth, well-balanced latte, which is easily one of the better ones I’ve had in Japan. The space is calm and stylish, with a relaxed vibe that makes it great for a short break or a quiet sit-down. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area and craving good coffee and dessert.

The coffee was just fine. The hojicha chestnut Swiss roll was bland. Waited for less than 5 min for a seat as a lot of people came for the breakfast meals. Wait another 5 min for the food. There are better option.

Rec Coffee is already a famous cafe among coffee lovers. I visited Rec Coffee Tenjinminami branch after getting a recommendation from a friend who also loves coffee. I visited around 3pm on Sunday, but all the tables were already full and the line to order was long. I was lucky that there was an empty seat at the bar table, so I was able to grab a seat right away. The server brought the Iced Americano and Basque Cheesecake I ordered directly to my seat. The coffee tasted good, and the Basque Cheesecake was so good that I honestly thought about having another Basque Cheesecake. One thing that was disappointing was that they don't accept credit cards, which I hope will be improved in the future.
Christian C — Google review
Nice fluffy toast paired with a good cup of barista standard coffee that’s nutty and strong. There’s more sweet flavour in their food offering. I hope in future they can cater to savoury taste buds.
IReview M — Google review
Near the tenjinminami station. The place has Air Conditioning even if the place is open which is cool. The staff can speak a bit of english. The food is just enough, but the drink is so good. We love the Espresso Banana, totally recommended! The place is not that spacious though, but has Toilet available. Overall totally recommended.
Mao S — Google review
Many websites list Rec as one of the must-go cafes when visiting Fukuoka. Anyway, I don’t drink coffee past a certain time so I had the hot chocolate and I can say that it was the best I’ve had! Hot chocolates that I’ve tried at other establishments come either too sweet or too bitter but Rec’s was served just right. And of course I bought beans to go so I can have Rec coffee at another time. 🙂
Masami M — Google review
Cozy atmosphere with friendly service. I have the cold-brew coffee made by the Janson Geisha Ali 538. This coffee has a wonderful floral aroma and a sweetness reminiscent of orange and yellow peach. Its lingering finish, reminiscent of black tea, and its silky texture and sweetness develop as it cools, allowing you to enjoy it for a long time.
Victoria C — Google review
A compact-sized café with good coffee — even better than Rec Coffee in One Fukuoka building. You can choose your preferred coffee beans, which is a nice touch. It seems to be very popular and well-loved among Koreans.

Little Stand Daimyo store is a tiny café located in Fukuoka City's Daimyo area. Despite its small size, it offers a variety of beverages and vegan options for take-out. Customers can enjoy their drinks and desserts at outdoor tables while soaking in the atmosphere of Daimyo. The stand is known for its delicious chai tea with chai whipped cream and friendly English-speaking owner.
The place was located inside a small alley so the place is a little bit sketchy. They have small area for dining. The owner is nice and always smiling. I ordered cinnamon toast paired with Bari-Choco the chocolate and whipped was smooth the toast is crispy, thick and airy perfect combination.

Stumbled on a sunny day and left with a happy heart (and a full stomach😋). Iced chocolate with whipped cream was pure joy rich, refreshing, and the cream not too sweet. The original waffle? Comforting!! Oh, and the logo is literally the owner’s face HOW CUTE is that? Chill vibe, tasty treats. I’m a fan!

Super cute place with a comprehensive menu of coffee and hojicha. We ordered the flat white and bari-chai hojicha butter with caramel. The flat white used decent beans and the texture of the milk was good. The bari-chai, their signature item, was also good but the drink wasn’t the highlight of course. The hojicha was OK although a bit watered down. The cream on top was perfectly fluffy. I wish the caramel was a bit stronger but in hindsight it was perfect for the overall profile of the drink.

I love the classic Japanese coffee places and I love when they are not just stuck in time but also going with the current wave of coffee. This one is a prime example for a good japanese hand drip shop. The barista is super skilled and the setup is made to function in the environment it sits in. I am always amazed on how these shops work and I am so happy to have checked this one out. The coffee was very tasty and I also bought beans which are also very Oishii. Thank you so much! :)

It’s not my first review of this place but today I got the chance to speak with one of the main barista. It was such a nice time talking with him about coffee, I learn a lot about coffee making process, and I got the chance to try different type of coffee. It was like a private training session with a world champion barista for free. It’s a must go. Honestly thank you for your time and your knowledge ! It was a real pleasure to spend an hour listening and speaking with you.

Coffee Man is a small roaster and coffee shop with excellent coffee. They roast up to 30Kg of coffee a day and their roasts range from a City roast (a light roast) all the way up to expresso. The lighter roasts are made from coffee from Ethiopia and Kenya and are absolutely delicious. If you like good coffee, Coffee Man will not disappoint you.

A coffee place for coffee needs, freaks and geeks. They roast on a 1 to 8 number scale down to the decimal to indicate the level of roast. Some coffee beans are even served with two different roast levels. The staff will recommend which coffee to choose and explain the coffee flavor profile if you need help choosing. You can bring in bread from the bakery next door and eat here with their coffee. Don’t miss this place.

This spot attracts a diverse crowd, from mothers with kids to university students and office workers, all drawn by the delicious roasts, friendly service, and inviting atmosphere. Went here in December 2024. Had very good coffee, the baristas were very helpful in explaining the products that they had. Cafe was comfortable, spacious. For those who don't drink coffee, they have other beverages. I think it's safe to say that you can find something to enjoy. The lady was kind and let us tried several options of coffees. One of the best 3rd wave coffee stand in Fukuoka! Their hand drip coffee was amazing. I had iced pour over coffee perfect for the summer morning to start the day. Single origin beans from Colombia with very pleasant, simple and complex notes (milk, cacao, berry and hazelnut) that’s velvety and full bodied. Tha barista of the shop was amazing too. Will definitely go back here since we’re staying in Fukuoka for 10 days. Such a dreamland for specialty coffee people who look for art and good coffee in one spot. This place is one of kind. Everything is handmade with love, even down to all of the different sauces they use. We were in Fukuoka for 4 days recently and went here for two of our dinners. I am not a big fan of burger in general but I gotta say that their buns are to die for!!! So goooood! A very solid and pretty vegan burger. We also tried their falafel and for a non-specialized nor Mediterranean place, it was very very decent and good! Their ice cream was also a nice dessert to have after the meal! Not that sweet and served with a bit of granola. What a treat!

Nestled within the Fukuoka Toei Hotel, Kamakiri Coffee Takasago offers a unique blend of Silicon Valley vibes and Japanese charm. Founded by Douglas Weber, a former Apple engineer with a passion for coffee, this airy café is an ideal spot to unwind or tackle some work tasks. While it may not catch your eye from the street, stepping inside reveals a cozy atmosphere that contrasts beautifully with the bustling outside world.
Sparkling clean, friendly, knowledgeable service and tasty coffee! Though Kamakiri Coffee is self-contained and compact it takes advantage of its space, nested adjacent to the open, comfortable lobby of the Toeie hotel whose comfortable sofas and connected workspace are made available to Kamakiri customers. After returning to Fukuoka since writing my first review I can attest to the am insistent quality and careful attention of the staff. Ms. Suzuka, in particular, has always stood out for the quality of her recommendations and her friendliness. And today I was delighted to reacquaint myself with Rei-chan, whose warmth and enthusiasm always cheers me up when I visit. Both of these young ladies are the kind of staff that any business serving the public should be seeking to attract. If I were running a business in Fukuoka I’d hire either one of them immediately.

A quiet place in the center of Yakuin. From outside it doesnt stand out so much but when inside. The view is awesome. You can feel that the outside is busy and inside you have this slow cozy feel. The coffee is good. You can choose from a variety of coffee beans. You could ask for a recommendation if you have trouble choosing one. The tuna melt is good but with that price I expect at least 3 slices of toast. Unfortunately there is no wifi. Lots of power outlets(コンセント) though. When I go to Yakuin and want to relax, Maybe I will come here again.

Favorited the moment I tasted the coffee. Excellent coffee, amazingly relaxing seating area and welcoming staff. Finally a place where one can buy a good cup of coffee and relax in a comfortable sofa or maybe even bring a laptop and get some serious work done. Highly recommended. Edit: The coffee is consistently delicious so I've bumped the rating up to 5 stars. This place is undoubtedly one of my top 3 Cafe's in Fukuoka city.

The new cafe Yakuin 3 Terrace has just opened on the first floor of Kyushu Mitsubishi's new headquarters building, 300 meters west of Yakuin Station on the Yakuin Line. It serves light lunch and dinner options, as well as a range of drinks.
Five stars if you’re looking for a spacious, nicely designed cafe to relax or get some work done at. The lunch menu was a bit basic but the salad and pistachio crème brûlée were both nice.
Adam C — Google review
(Translated by Google) I went the other day on Saturday around noon. Located on the first floor of the Mitsubishi Kuruma building, it was initially run by the company itself, but is now a self-service cafe-restaurant run by Mentaiko no Yamaya. That said, there are about 3 to 4 types of food on the menu. There are other desserts and drinks, but they don't have anything special about them, and I guess the Yamaya flavor is about Mentai France. Mentaiko announcement flyer? I think there was something like that. The interior of the restaurant is spacious with high ceilings, and although there are a lot of seats, it's not crowded, so it's relaxing and comfortable. Everyone had quiet conversations, it wasn't noisy, and although there were several people working on computers, it seemed to be going well. After you pay, the tray will be brought to your seat, and you will return it to the return table yourself on your way home. There are no staff walking around the store, so it feels quiet. I wanted to eat, but it was too expensive for this format and I didn't have anything I wanted to eat, so I went for a ready-made pork ham sandwich, decaf, and creme brûlée. As for the taste, the pork ham was delicious, and the creme brûlée was small, but ok. I'm glad the decaf cup is big, but it tastes sour and bitter and tastes bad. It's a cafe after all, so I want the coffee to be delicious. However, the comfort is a unique charm, so I gave it a 4 rating. I would like to use it again. A 4WD car representing Mitsubishi was on display. The showroom is on the second floor. By the way, I was selling citrus fruits like yuzu, but I was surprised to see them wilting. If you're going to go out of your way to put something like this, I'd like you to put fresh produce directly from the farm. *There are duplicates of the same photo, but if you delete one, the other will also be deleted, so I left it as is.

(Translated by Google) The salad lunch was delicious and had a good amount. If I had to say one thing, it would be easier to eat if the fat in the soup was reduced a little. The soup contains chicken, but it doesn't have enough protein. It would be nice if chicken or boiled eggs could be added as additional toppings. The wifi is good on weekdays. It's a shame that there are no outlets, but I make use of my mobile battery.

They gave me a Japanese menu because Koreans don't usually come here, so I ordered it back with an English menu! Kuromon Coffee is an excellent Japanese-style cafe which is situated in a refurbished 90-year old house. The coffee is of high quality and the cafe also sells beautiful furniture.
Everything we chose was exceptional and amazingly delicious. The dining area upstairs is cozy and serene. The selection of savoury and sweet pastries will make you want to grab one of each. Highly recommend making the visit here.

Best Affogato in Kyushu (or maybe Japan)! Strong espresso with less sweet ice cream. The combination is awesome. Besides, you can pick the bean for handdrip coffee.

A nice little cafe/interior design(?) shop with a friendly and what seems to be a knowledgeable barista, and a great, inexpensive, double shot flat white! This is a place I don't mind recommending to fellow coffeesnobs. It's really nice to browse around the shop while sipping on a good cup'a'joe. Edit: I've been back multiple times now and the coffee is consistently amazing down to the last drop.

Visitors praise the refreshing cold brew and commend the friendly staff, making it a delightful spot for coffee enthusiasts.
The coffee tastes very good and the shop owner is nice! A pleasant drinking experience. Like it so much that I also bought some drip on back home🥰

Located on the Main Street, Adachi coffee offers a wide selection of medium to dark roast for pacarama, Geisha and other beans. Had the V60 filter coffee with the Kenya beans gave a fruity and nutty aftertaste. The owner really knows his stuff and you can get beans for 100g or 200g with reasonable prices. Do note prices differ for takeaway or having there. The area isn’t big, so do come early to get good specialty coffee.

I ordered a double shot cappuccino in their 6oz cup and was very pleased with the taste. They measure their coffee every time so consistency shouldn't be an issue but as I've only been there once I wouldn't really know. The staff was friendly and the cafe is very open and inviting. I'll definitely stop by once more and post an edit regarding the consistency and maybe my official seal of approval.

Kyushu coffee gem for 3rd wave coffee. This shop offers an international tasting notes that you won’t find in general japanese cafe.

I needed coffee with my cheesecake 😋 Found this place in Google and decided to check it out. My husband parked illegally and I hopped out the car and ran over to the coffee shop. There was only one person inside. The person who helped me was friendly and quick. I ordered a cappuccino and it was only 500 yen. She walked out to hand me my coffee ☕️ Thank you! 🌺

FILTER SUPPLY, located in Fukuoka, is a unique hideaway specializing in drip coffee. Unlike its sister shop, Good Up Coffee, it doesn't serve espresso drinks but focuses on providing a serene environment for savoring hand pour coffee. The modern and luxurious interior with Japanese aesthetics creates a bar-like atmosphere. Visitors praise the talented and friendly baristas as well as the fantastic pour-over coffee served here.
Opens for a short 6 hours per day. But the staff are professional coffee enthusiasts, who are constantly doing tasting and exploring different nodes. It may seem like any other house on the outside, on the inside is a bar like area for few. The coffee beans range exotically. More than that, the filters come off excellent for one of the best specialty coffee in Fukuoka. For hardcore coffee lovers, a must visit.

Great selection of coffee to suit any palate. It's always exciting when you find out there is a coffee roaster near your hotel or airbnb. This was one of those lucky times when I found a small coffee shop with an owner that is passionate about roasting beans. I enjoyed a pour over with the summer blend (medium roast). It was nicely balanced and had great flavor! Also - the owner speaks great english. Very helpful for travelers like me that have very limited Japanese proficiency. 👍 👍 👍
