Lovely cafe with quite a varied but straightforward menu. Something for everyone. The service was a little slow getting drinks but once we'd asked they were quick to sort it. The tables outside are close together so it can feel a bit squished. We went on a Saturday morning and it was very busy. The food was lovely! Portions were generous and the quality was really good. The coffee was lovely. If you're a coffee snob, this would absolutely suit!

Visited for a coffee last year and had an amazing brew, revisiting Brighton with good friends and a serious coffee lover I thought I had knew the perfect place. We decided to stop for coffee and breakfast but sadly after a 15 minute wait the coffee finally arrived only just warm, breakfast then arrived another 15 minutes later and just as the coffee was the breakfast too had elements that were barely warm. There was seven of us and 4 of our party had breakfast with sausage, 3 out of the 4 of us left the sausage as it seemed to be not just on the cold side but also had the appearance that it hadn’t spent much time in the pan/oven. Could it just be a coincidence that the one of us that did eat the sausage ended up being violently sick that evening ? It’s not difficult to cook a sausage but as you can see from the photo the trading post do have some culinary learning to do.

The English breakfast was good. The croque monsieur was a little dry. The bread was thick and it needed a bit more bechamel and cheese. The coffee was good as was the service.

Excellent coffee, good brunch options - went for the hash, fresh and flavoursome. Latest menu attached from June 2025.

Nice place, order from the till and they're bringing the food, taste was OK, not very good but average, coffee was better though you can select from different roasts etc. Recommend

I spent 3 days in Brighton recently and ended up eating breakfast here every morning. The coffee was outstanding! The food was great too. Over 3 mornings I tried the vegan rarebit, the plant-based granola bowl and the plant-based full English (minus the falafels & houmous as I didn't fancy that for breakfast). I also got a sandwich to take away - Korean BBQ mushrooms on foccacia. Everything was freshly made, beautifully presented and absolutely delicious.

Overall good coffee, food and experience, but no WiFi is a shame as the building reduces data connectivity to rely on 4/5G only. It was a challenge to send this review or download the TP app and had to go and get a better connection.

This place is a decent cafe, but comparing the coffee, cakes and vibes to other cafes in Brighton, I think it’s just off the mark. My coffee was nice, a decent flat white, though a little beyond the pleasant levels of bitter, whether that be the roast or the pull. Nice milk though and the latte art was cute! The cakes and bakes did look great, and my cardamom bun was nice, but it wasn’t ’delicious’. Seemingly a little old, too doughy and lacking the finesse, though with a welcomed subtle cardamom flavour. The decor and vibes were again interesting, with only outdoor style furniture inside, making the place seem a little uncomfortable and harsh. The staff were genuinely lovely though and made up for any missing character. Pelicano’s is okay, it’s good, it’s alright. It falls somewhere in that bracket for me, but each to their own!

Popped in on a Sunday morning for a hot chocolate and a slice of lemon cake. We sat in the small garden at the rear, which is a nice little sun trap and feels very sheltered from the bustle on the street outside. The chocolate was very good, but the cake was superb. A generous slice with a rich buttery filling. It was absolutely delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful. Well worth a visit!

Yes i do Vibes are great, decor is lovely and plentiful seating the toilet is also so cuteee great for some mirror selfies and the reed diffusers smell insane (clean toilets too btw) Best flat white i have ever had coffee taste great and milk so smooth and silky

We stopped here on a rainy afternoon for a much needed coffee and lunch break. The atmosphere was great, barista and wait staff were friendly. We had some of the sandwiches for lunch which were lovely. The main event however was the coffee. We ordered a decaf and a regular cappuccino. The coffee was rich and dark unlike many other weaker/lighter roast coffees that cafes in the UK tend to serve. The milk was textured well and had the right balance of foam to milk for a cappuccino. The coffee also came with chocolate powder on top which doesn’t seem to be standard in the UK for a cappuccino either. Easily one of the best coffees we’ve had in the UK.

Sadly agree with some of the other poor reviews. I was happy to find a decent coffee place on my way to work, but been finding it a really disappointing experience last few visits (over past month or so). Coffee is weak...flat white barely tastes of coffee. Asked for extra hot due to past tepid coffee experiences, but still got lukewarm. There is possibly a high turnover of staff as never seem to be served by same people/ barista. Sorry, but think more coffee making training required!

This café is an excellent spot for a quick coffee before work or for catching up with a friend. Its proximity to Hove Station adds to its convenience, making it an ideal choice for commuters.

This coffee shop is the closest to my home. I've tried it more than three times, but unfortunately, I found it to be unhygienic. I noticed flies during most of my visits. The coffee is always served not hot enough, and the cups are not cleaned properly.

Tuesday 8th July 08:30am - 09:20am, by far one of the worst customer experiences. Came in, asked for 2 coffees takeaway, waited the usual amount of time for the 1st, but the second delayed. After the second person behind me in the queue was served, I went to the counter and asked to double-check what exactly I ordered. The original order confirmed. The second coffee is now on the way. Some mishap happened on the barista side and my drink came out wrong and was sitting there. Nobody addressed that I was standing in front of the service point, and when I approached I was ignored. By the time it arrives, the 1st coffee was cold. So I go and ask for another, agreed to pay and went back to waiting. After a while, a cappuccino is put out, so I go for it. One of the barista then tells me that it's not my drink. I tell her I've just paid for another. She then takes the drink ticket down and condescendingly explains in an aggressive manner that if I haven't ordered an ice latte then it's not my cappuccino. I then sat down and waited until I knew I wasn't going to get chewed out for being patient. Worked in hospitality for 5 years. Not acceptable.

We stopped by for a mooring coffee and pastry. Coffee is really really good and there's a good selection of pastries (incl vegan)

English breakfast tea very nice, English breakfast for what you got was too expensive at £11 and bacon was tough, maybe it was cooked in a microwave. Staff were pleasant and helpful.

Was very happy to find this place after a night shift in the morning. My flat white was excellent!!!! The best in Brighton so far. Very friendly and happy people work there which is always a good sign. And overall such a nice atmosphere. Thank you for the opportunity to have perfect coffee!

Would give 10 stars if I could! Cannot recommended this place enough. They do the best coffee in Brighton, and beyond in fact! The staff are so friendly, passionate and knowledgeable. We always buy our coffee here and they have a constantly changing selection which keeps it interesting, are well priced and you get a free coffee with every bag! We feel extremely grateful to live locally so we can keep coming back! Would recommend to anyone who loves coffee and supporting local businesses.

Popped into this place a few weeks back to pick up some beans. They recommended their Businde for V60 and what a coffee! Popped into here today to try something different and bought the Rugali (yet to try). Enjoyed a mighty fine Oat Cortado outside on the benches while some of the team were roasting. Lovely.

The best coffee you can get in Brighton, along with some fantastic pastries (Highly recommend the Orange and Cinnamon bun, tastes like Kouign-amann!). Fantastic service and atmosphere, well worth checking out if you get the chance!

Fantastic coffee knowledge and wonderful service from all of the staff. Always service with a smile and a friendly word, and they remember their regulars. The coffee has always been excellent, great filters which change often and a delicious oat flat white. The shop is lovely and bright, cool to watch their roasting processes as you wait for your coffee.

Attended here today for a brunch for my friends 30th birthday and also for her husband's birthday. The whole experience was an absolute disaster and caused a very rubbish start to birthday celebrations. We turned up 10 minutes early and were more than happy to wait for our table to be ready but then by the time our brunch was ready to start our table still wasn't ready. This was simple because the other party on our table had overrun so therefore we had to sit outside a bit longer and lose out on our brunch start time. After waiting half an hour our table was finally ready but wasn't the table we were supposed to have and was too small so another table had to be added for our party to fit on. We started our brunch and things were going absolutely fine, the food arrived which was lovely although the chicken was fairly pink in a few places which put a few of us off eating it. We had another half hour or so left off our brunch time but we were approached by a waiter to inform us that due to a party hiring out the venue that we had to leave our table half an hour early, not just our table actually the whole venue. We weren't made aware that the manager double booked before we arrived, neither were we told when we sat down to start our brunch. What baffled me is how the manager of the venue didn't even approach us to tell us this bad news, he got the waiter to do it. This was because the manager doesn't like confrontation, I'm sorry but if you're a manager of a customer facing business then you should be able to take confrontation especially when you have messed up this badly. We got 50% off our bill as the manager thought this would be a good way to solve this whole mess up but it really isn't acceptable for the amount of stress the whole party got put through. Not once did the manager of the venue come and speak to our table, not once did he come and explain anything and not once did we get one single apology out of this which I think is absolutely disgusting for someone who is supposed to be a manager and running a venue.

We found the Redroaster just by the Theatre Royal. I can not eat wheat, gluten, dairy, or soya. I explained this to the first waitress, who found another waitress, We then waited 10 more minutes to get menus, as the waitress drifted past us with menus for other customers. We eventually got her attention & managed to order food after 20 minutes. I ordered the steak with salad, as this was about all I could eat safely, my son the chilli crab linguini with fries on the side. We got our "large" pepsis, which were less than half a pint. Mine was only just over half full, as I didn't want ice on a cold day. The food arrived, but the pepper sauce was in a metal ramakin on the plate, but it contained dairy. I did double-check & I couldn't have it. I had to ask for any dressing on the mixed leaves, no other salad with the steak. It was disappointing. I ordered a second drink. I watched 3 waitresses chatting for 10 minutes while I waited for my drink. I did catch the waitresses eye eventually & she gave me the look of oh, I forgot your drink. We had finished our food by the time it arrived. We paid the bill & got to the Theatre on time.

We were a group of 8 having Sunday brunch at Redroaster (side of the Dome) in Brighton before returning home. We had spent a fun weekend celebrating the lovely bride to be in our group. Brunch was the icing on the cake. The staff was uniformly polite, professional, and genuinely cheerful. The food was delicious and truly reasonably priced for the locale and quality of the ingredients. I had the hot fish wrap and it was something I would definitely come back and eat again!! According to a few of my fellow diners the Bloody Mary’s were very good, indeed. Great for a group. So relaxed. And no hassle paying individually. Highly recommend!

Had a solo brunch – the crab benedict (fresh crab, burnt butter brioche, mango, avocado, organic eggs, dill hollandaise) was tasty and well put together, and my oat latte was spot on. The space is bright, airy and welcoming, making it easy to feel comfortable whether you’re with family, friends, a partner or dining solo. Service was a little slow – only three staff on – but not a deal-breaker. Overall, a pleasant spot for brunch rather than a standout one.

I am not usually one for eating out alone but fancied a little coffee and breakfast so popped in there this morning- the staff really looked after me! Service was very quick, avo on toast was beautiful, so was my biscoff vegan coffee. Lovely staff- all 3 staff members I spoke to were so friendly- put the outdoor heating on for me and even pulled the windows up because they didn’t want me being cold. Great food and great staff- would definitely recommend!!

I came for lunch with my family and the nicest most accommodating waitress served as (Drewsy I think her name). She made me feel so reassured as I am GF and really reduced my anxiety! She was so friendly and funny! Such attention to detail. She made my daughters feel so special and changed loads on the menu as my oldest is autistic and can be picky. I will definitely be recommending it others. Thank you for making a usually stressful experience relaxing and fun!!!

Popped in for breakfast while in Brighton and it was such a great find. The croissants are huge—really generous portions. I had the ham and cheese croissant with an oat cappuccino, and both were delicious. Lovely spot for a relaxed morning bite

First saw this place on Instagram and really wanted the opportunity to try it. A few months after following them, I find myself in Brighton and happened to come across it, while walking past. I hadn’t originally planned to pop in but I remembered their Instagram and promptly entered the cafe. I was not disappointed! My slice of blackout cake was some of the nicest chocolate cake I’ve ever had! My hot chocolate was lovely too. Both tasted gorgeous and not sickly sweet either. They were just right! Not only was my cake amazing, but so was the service. The staff were ever so friendly and polite, which made me, as a visitor who doesn’t like to annoy locals, feel very warmly welcomed. It was the perfect way to start what turned out to be a truly wonderful day. Thank you so much! I’ll be coming back, when I’m next in town.

It's super cute and the food is great! I got a cheese and tomato croissant and it was delicious. There are also plenty of outlets inside if you need to charge your phone.

The flat white was good but unfortunately the carrot cake was just too sweet and the frosting was chantilly cream instead of regular cream cheese, I couldn’t finish it. Good location and professional service.

What a lovely cafe. I often pop in for a cuppa and pastry. The amazing staff are so friendly, food is great and the store is always clean and tidy. One of my favorite stops when shopping in the North Lanes. Keep up the amazing work and I will be back soon.

Place so good & cosy we visited each morning of our trip to Brighton! ;) Located next to Queen’s Park, it’s the perfect spot for a coffee break. The food was delicious as well. We were able to try a different dish each day and nothing disappointed. Everything tasted fresh and like it was made with love and care. It was the perfect start to our day. I would love to come back when I visit again. Small tip: if you want to come during the weekend I would recommend booking a table on their site (very easy to do).

This was our favorite brunch spot in Brighton and the best brunch we’ve had in the UK!! Unfortunately it was our last day in town so we didn’t have time to come back again, but definitely would have. The pancakes were melt in you mouth perfect and the jam was so good we tried asking if they sold it by the jar. Pistachio latte was great. The star of the show was the eggs on toast, which we definitely recommend!

I’ll give it: THE BEST BREAKFAST/BRUNCH I’ve had in Europe! Really, so so so good! The staff were friendly, the food was out within a reasonable time, and the space was airy and easy to talk! Really, a must visit!

Delicious food, tasty coffee, excellent service! Upstairs is nice and bright, seats out the front are lovely on warm days, downstairs seating area is a bit lacklustre. Remember to make a reservation for brunch as this sport is busy and popular 🙂 Highly recommend the chorizo hash! Yum! 😋

Had my first visit to Starfish & Coffee recently and couldn’t wait to come back. The Avocado Smash is the best variation/spin on avo toast I have EVER had, the avocado is packed onto the sourdough, really generous portions. My boyfriend loved his Florentine too! & the iced coffee needs a mention. Delicious & great service! All round a lovely cafe and I’m so glad it’s my local

Amazing brunch spot and gorgeous location. Brunch dishes are very unique and different to anywhere else in Brighton. So close to the seafront and right outside of Queens Park. Using locally roasted coffee and local ingredients, we'll definitely be visiting again. Super friendly staff too!

Best avocado I’ve ever had! Cannot recommend Starfish & Coffee enough, the food was amazing, the staff were super friendly and it’s right next to Queen’s Park for a nice post brunch stroll. Will definitely be coming back here, their smashed avocado was second to none!

Another banging cafe in Brighton, with some of the best coffee beans if you are on the hunt. Speciality coffee made well, but the flavour and complexity of the coffee itself makes this place a gem. The vibes are always good, especially when the sun is out and people are fighting over a seat on the little benches out front - they are perfect for soaking in the sun and the huddle and bustle of Brighton on the weekend. Seating inside is a little more rustic, opting for a more mis-matched vintage style. It’s comfy and cosy, great for chilling. (Heads up, not really a cafe to work in though, there’s no wifi) The selection of cakes and bakes is not what Bond Street focuses on, but the addition of bite sized cakes to pair with the coffee is fab. Nothing stand out, but the perfect little sweet treat to complement a great cup of coffee. Try dunking! All in all, Bond Street has some of the best coffee in Brighton. Whether they make the best cup is down to preference I guess, but the beans - fab.

Friendly place with beautiful coffee and staff who are always willing to "chat coffee". If you love black coffee then you have to try the batch filter version. Even better try the pourover, there's real craft in that. Just, wow.

top 5 in brighton for sure, it is quite expensive relatively to some coffee shops in town, staff is friendly and the service is quick, the coffee you get is always consistent. Nice pastries. Can buy coffee beans and ground coffee! No WiFi, and no laptops during the weekends - which makes sense as the place is nice and small.

What a fantastic experience. So welcoming atmosphere and that smell.... CINNAMON all over. I couldn't see at first which cake smell so divine 😍 drinking Brazilian roast coffee I spot customers next to our table eating beautiful CINNAMON BUN 😋😍 I knew then that was the smell which welcome us and I need to try it. Freshly baked with vegan cream on the side still warm. What else do you need to start your day with cup of coffee to complete all that experience. For sure one of the places to try when you travel to BRIGHTON. I'm sure we will visit you again no doubt🥰🥰🥰🥰

Cracking speciality coffee spot. Coffee-wise they do aeropress, batch filter, and v60, as well as all the milky espresso favourites. Delicious vegan sausage rolls and plenty of vegan and/or GF cake options. Their banana bread is great and packed with walnuts. And their retail is also very welcomed, with everything from your daily necessities such as v69/aeropress filters, to kettles, books, brewers and of course specialty beans. The service was great and the atmosphere was perfect.

This coffee shop is fantastic!!! It’s located in the laines in Brighton. The style of coffee is really appealing to sit with friends with a good amount of space or if you wanted to read a book and relax on your own also. I was extremely impressed with the level of service and detail in which the staff are interested in what you’re doing in the day, really chatty and friendly towards you! The coffee was also really smooth and rich, you can also request syrup and they actually add it on the side instead of throwing in the coffee for you! Great selection/choice of food and drinks! Overall the whole experience was great, or work in central London and it’s reminds me of those cool coffee shops there, but this one is even better! 10/10 for me.

Stopped here for coffee and cake after our 2.5 hour train journey to Brighton. Had lattes, which were quite strong, and delicious Portuguese Egg Custard Tarts and a Carrot Cake slice. Interior of the coffeeshop was a little sparse, some nice art on the walls would improve the ambience. Prices very reasonable.

Coffee At 33 – Small shop, big heart (and seriously good coffee!) The owner is incredibly sweet and friendly — you feel welcome the second you walk in. . I ordered an espresso, a cortado, and a hand drip, and every single cup was perfect. Balanced, smooth, and full of flavor — no bitterness at all, just pure coffee joy. Their pastries and baked goods look so tempting too… I wanted to try them all! If you’re in Brighton, you’ve got to check this place out. Just a heads up: it can be a little slow because they’ve got so many loyal regulars — but trust me, it’s 100% worth the wait.

Taras, the lovely owner the this cafe, offers nice variety of drinks and pastries. I really loved the taste of latte and cheesecake we ordered. The cheesecake was even better than my mom’s. Most importantly he is Ukrainian and supports Ukrainians. We will definitely visit him again

Truly remarkable coffee, best I’ve had in some time. Had a flat white with spot on texture, the coffee had a great acidity, and was bright, floral, and fruity. Their Basque cheesecake is fantastic, too. Very well priced.

Superlative coffee and food served in a fantastic friendly cafe with a lovely atmosphere. The cafe is quite small with some seating but not much. Great for smaller groups. The coffee is just outstanding. Really fantastic brew. As is the food, really delicious full of flavour. Perfect compliment to the drinks. Service is fast, friendly and personable. Possibly the perfect cafe! A must go.

I order coffee from this roaster through Beanz subscription and they are by far the best I’ve tried. The coffee is delicious, the packaging is beautiful and they ship faster than all the others.

Skylark coffee are the best, run by a great bunch of guys who really know coffee. Had a slight issue with my subscription that they picked up on and contacted me straight away to sort out. The coffee is fantastic, and they ship a whole range of different single origin coffees along with their stable blend, which should satisfy every coffee lovers palate. I can recommend them enough!!

This is definitely a yummy brunch spot but I’m not running to go back. I ordered the French toast which I felt was a bit skimpy as the lady next to me had ordered the same and had a much more generous portion. I spoke to the staff and they were lovely and did give me a small discount as an apology which was very kind of them!! It was decent food, nothing to complain about but nothing to call home about either :)

Cannot rate highly enough! The food was great but the absolute best part was the service! Our waiter (Antonio/Tony) was AMAZING. He was so attentive and such a good sport for our big group of gals on a bottomless brunch, even taking a selfie with us when we asked! It made the experience so special, we love you Antonio!

Had high expectations, waited for just under an hour for our table of 2’s food. Unfortunately there were only 2 staff on the floor and they seemed quite stretched. The food was a miss for me, cold components like the hash brown and bacon on my English brekkie, and the crayfish was rubbery for my guest. Plating was aesthetic but there’s not much love in the food.

Very lovely place, came to enjoy the sunshine and have a bit of food, the Berries Pancake is as absolutely unreal and so was the limincello Spritz I had after. Everything was made even better with Tegan who helped with the menu, was knowledgeable and just really lovely overall making the experience perfect. Would highly recommend at any time! Tony was absolutely incredible! I’ve been served by him before and he’s always so friendly, kind and attentive – he really makes the whole experience even better. We had the bottomless brunch and it was fantastic – delicious food, great drinks and excellent service throughout.

It's a simple and shabby American-style breakfast shop with no decoration or atmosphere. I was searching for places to eat pancake in Brighton early in the morning, and Google Maps recommended it to me. I ordered blueberry pancake and hamburgers. The pancake were very dry, with a texture as if everything was broken,The bacon was delicious. The breakfast hamburger tastes good. After finishing the meal and settling the bill, it turned out that only credit cards were accepted, not cash. But as a tourist, I don't have a card. I only have 50 pounds in cash! Finally, I went to a small shop nearby and exchanged 10 pounds in cash for the meal fee 💷38.12 pounds, I gave 40 pounds, and no change could be given to me. A really bad experience. I'm extremely dissatisfied!! Because in my country, it is illegal to refuse cash or change!!

Had an excellent service and breakfast as usual here. Served by a lovely woman called Sophia who was super attentive, friendly and speedy with service. Food was fantastic went for my fav the smashed avo with homemade beans and hash browns!! Highly recommend. Atmosphere is also fab here

I had the chicken, waffles and bacon and I have to say, it was superb. It was cooked beautifully (the chicken breast in particular blew me away, very tender and succulent). “I want it that way” started playing over the speakers and me and my mate started singing along to it. There was this one waitress that noticed and gave us a little cheer and applause. She came over and we had a brief little chat about the song - I’d shout her out here if I knew her name. Great selection of American - style breakfasts. The shakshuka was very good and I loved that it came with avocado on toast. Food wait was quite a while, we’d already finished coffees before it arrived. A cosy and unique place to try - but quite expensive. Nearly £24 for a coffee and breakfast. There are lots of optional extras which soon add up. Overall a good experience for brunch. Large portions but if you’re looking for a healthier/ lighter breakfast go elsewhere.

So after coming back to Brighton after many years off after initially coming to visit my uni pal numerous times but never really properly exploring, I’m glad to say I’ve found the greatest breakfast. One of the best places for breakfast in Brighton! We came from quite a long way just to try The Breakfast Club, and it was absolutely worth it. The food was fresh, delicious, and creative — every dish was full of flavour, and the coffee really stood out with its rich taste. We did have a small issue with the seating, but we shared our feedback with the café manager, Jack, who was fantastic. He handled it with great professionalism, apologized sincerely, and made sure we left happy. Overall, we highly recommend this place — amazing food, great coffee, and wonderful people! Thanks Jack!

Me and my GF have been here twice, both times the staff were lovely and we were seated within minutes both times. Food speaks for itself in that I personally think this is 'the' place for breakfast in Brighton. Love the atmosphere too.

Such a charming café with a cozy vibe! While we didn’t make a reservation, we were lucky to snag a table by the window definitely a spot worth hoping for! The hot chocolate was comforting, and the desserts were enjoyable, though not extraordinary. So, a lovely place to relax and indulge in a sweet treat with a beautiful atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit!

The Arabian eggs were incredible! The coffee is in a really big cup which is perfect for enjoying and savouring slowly!! Much better than a tiny coffee from some places. Great location and staff!

Had one of the best coconut latte, the phone signal is great so I could use my Internet to work from there and they allow dogs 🐕 which is always great. The staff was lovely, very good customer service and great atmosphere. Recommended!

I am very happy I visited coho and here are the reasons: The Staff was excellent, very kind and fast, 3 different members of staff helped us either by taking an order for the table or bringing extra water. Everyone simply kind. The food: It was great! I included pictures. Me and my gluttonous friends decided to get a dish for each and then an extra for the table as we all wanted to try the Coho French Toast. I am very happy with the food. The eggs had the perfect egg yolk (for me) and I know people can be tough to satisfy when it comes to it and the French toast was amazing. The menu has all the classic options for Brunch. There’s also a backyard that’s outside and we didn’t know about it until after we left but it looked beautiful for a sunny day! Highly recommend this place, especially for the great service. It’s opposite Hixon Green that despite having good food has awful service. I am very happy and can’t wait to go again!

In my efforts to try as many coffees in Brighton during my two days visit, had breakfast here. Loved the decor / style and outdoor terrace and menu choice but I have had much better coffee elsewhere (my flat white came in a way too big cup), and scrambled eggs were ok but a little too wet for my personal taste. Still, great service and location are worth stopping by for sure

Love this little cafe, first time we came here in 2020 and once we discovered the spot, we've been here every day for a week. Now after 5 years we're back in Brighton and was first place we came to eat and drink a good coffee. Highly recommend as food and coffee is delicious.

Such a lovely place! The interior is gorgeous and the garden is a little oasis (I would recommend sitting out there). The food was delicious- we got the eggs benedict with pulled pork, hashbrowns (a little overpriced for what it is) and schnitzel. Our waiter wasn’t good unfortunately although quite sweet. All other service was great! We ordered some coffees before food yet he only put through the coffee order once we ordered food so it took ages to come. We really had a good time though and would definitely recommend it!

We order English breakfast and chilli egg. That was amazing! My boyfriend loved the mushrooms and tomatoes in his English breakfast (He said everything was good). I would come back next time! The best breakfast ever!!!

Close to Brighton palace, this place is gem, they serve parmesan truffle hash brown,loved it, the Shakshuka is to die for and the also serve healthy wraps, the insides packed on Saturday morning, so the got us sat in the backyard, which was wonderful as well, the lady who served is was really attentive and sweet, would definitely go back

Super impressed with the vegan offerings!! So much choice and everything we had was superb including pancakes and bagels. Amazing staff and brilliant atmosphere too. Lovely little shop inside. There are even veggie dog treats to purchase! Plenty of high chairs and baby changing facilities, though no toddler cutlery.

The marina feels part of the square, yacht magazines strategically dotted around. This unpretentious restaurant menu delivered very tasty food. Staff attentive and service quick. Good seating inside and out but watch the pigeons! Prices fair.

Cute, dog friendly cafe in a quieter area of the marina. There's a green space outside with a fountain which is a nice hangout spot when the weather is nice. The cafe itself has a shop section- they sell beautiful pieces for homes and some plants too! The plants are in need of water though... The service is a bit slow. I waited 10 mins for a coffee. It might have just been a busier day than expected but the coffee was really yummy. Would I visit again? Definitely.

Just a note that this review is a little late but still a reflection of our visit at the time. An interesting cafe with the opportunity to buy some soveniers, clothing, books too- makes good business sense. Didn't eat but had a look at the hot drinks as it was a cool, wet & windy day. Drinks were nothing out of the ordinary, I went for the Maacha because paying for a Tumeric Milk was the other choice but not at £4.00 (maybe £2.50 more fair). Neither ingredient is that hard to get and not complicated to make. Overall, everything was fine- chilled atmosphere, staff seemed nice but a little quiet. Dogs and even the random pigeon make an appearance too.

A great little place in a great location. The coffee was very good, had the black pearl, but the breakfast was one of the best I’ve had. The bake beans alone were exceptional. This wondrous meal was followed by a Bloody Mary, which could’ve been a little spicier but still tasty. I would highly recommend this locale for your next breakfast.

Popped into Baked in Hove for lunch and had the Halloumi Focaccia—so good! The focaccia was nice and toasty, the halloumi was grilled just right, and the chilli jam gave it a great little kick. Loved the mix with the roasted tomatoes and rocket too. Bonus points for the mini hash browns on the side—super crispy and totally hit the spot. Chill vibe and friendly staff. Will definitely be back!

Gosh, incredibly expensive average food. The waitresses were attentive and well trained (probably before they worked here), that’s where the good stuff ends. The poached eggs were delivered over cooked, we sent them back to be replaced fairly promptly with soft yolks. The pancakes were okay, the maple butter on the menu wasn’t in evidence, the maple syrup was scarce, the fresh fruit portion was minuscule. The tea was over £4, I can’t remember the exact price, but as I drink black tea, I didn’t even get milk, just hot water and tea leaves for £4 odd. The tap water was iced, and arrived promptly. £43 for two average breakfasts and 2 teas was a very expensive morning. To top it all, we witnessed a hostile and toxic child exchange between clearly estranged parents, we really felt for the two little girls. At another table they were reading the Express, and (as is their right - to free speech) discussing immigration from a racist perspective. We will not be going there again.

Food was excellent but asked for ham to be swapped for bacon and was told I could. However when the bill arrived I had been charged an extra £3.50 for two rashers of bacon. When queried I was told they don’t do swaps - should have been told when I ordered. No reduction for not having the ham. The waitress did apologise but the other staff member I spoke to just shrugged her shoulders. Not sure I will return!

Nice, but not sure I’d go back. It’s a lovely space with kind service, and I enjoyed the experience overall—but for the price, it didn’t quite hit. The food was good, not great. With so many options in Brighton, I’m not sure it stands out enough to return. The biggest letdown was the matcha. I asked for it extra strong, paid £2 more, and could already tell by the pale color it wasn’t high quality. Watery, diluted, and disappointing. That said, the setting is charming and the vibe is nice—it just didn’t deliver enough to justify the price.

Very cute place. Got strawberry matcha and butcher's breakfast. Butcher's breakfast was a bit too salty/peppered to my taste, but otherwise good. I'd mix up a bit more of fresh bits into it to balance it out. Wasn't crowded at all on a Friday morning, while a few other places nearby were packed.

By rating this 3 star, I’m not saying that I didn’t enjoy this. The presentation and design of this place is stunning, and I would highly recommend going if you’re looking to get a decent brunch. I just wasn’t overly impressed by the flavours or taste of the overall meal. It was all style really.

We made a last-minute stop at this cute brunch spot tucked off the main street, and it did not disappoint. The service was so friendly, and the food came out quickly. I started with the matcha lime tonic, then we shared the eggs benedict and the veggie English breakfast... both were incredible! Every component was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Honestly, one of the best brunches I’ve ever had. Would 10000% recommend!

14th September £100 total What’s in a name? The short answer is quite a lot. For reasons of happy personal circumstance it’s a question very much front of mind at the moment; I’ve been picking my way through the thorny thicket of negative onomastic association recently (a particular moniker forever reminding me of a particular Monica, for example) and contemplating the plausibility of nominative determinism (is a child with the name of an old lady destined to act like an old lady from birth?). So yes Bill, perhaps a rose by any other name would smell as sweet, but that doesn’t mean that when Mich suggested dinner at Lost in the Lanes I was able to easily set aside my initial impression we’d be eating in a coffee shop. Because that’s what it sounds like it is. Even when I went online and looked at the menu and found evidence of proper cooking in the imaginative small plates there (see: salmon pastrami with gooseberry, samphire and peas), there was something inside me bracing itself for one of those ham and cheese toasties out of a plastic wrap. But I was quickly able to shed my slightly bizarre associative complex when we got there. Because it doesn’t look like a coffee shop - even though, mind-bendingly, it also is one - to the point I’m now wondering how I’d feel having a morning pastry in there. It looks modern and chic, with lots of open space, dried flowers and single bulbs on long wires hanging from wooden beams on the ceiling, a cut-out in the wall through to the kitchen - that kind of thing. And in the flesh the menu helped too, because there were about a million things on there I wanted to eat. We eschewed the large plates entirely, as much to save room for variety as any other reason, and before long there was no room for elbows on our little circular marble tabletop; in a bout of FOMO I kept calling the waitress back to add things to our order and rather than describe them all individually my overall reflection was this: sometimes sampling lots of little things can reflect worse on the standard of cooking than if we’d just gone olives-bread-starter-main. Comparison is, of course, the thief of joy, but when Mich and I are eating smorgasbords it’s absolutely in our nature to rank each dish against one another, and unavoidably there are those that don’t quite hit the spot as well as others. Negativity bias then perhaps leaves a feeling of lesser satisfaction than if the one big main had been served with the same quality as the average across a range of tasting plates. And there really was a range of quality in what we ate, I thought. The toursi tasted like the pickling process had sucked all the life and flavour out of the veg (and having figs in there was just weird), whereas the feta cigars and that first bite of bombette were perfect. There was a fair bit of middle-of-the-road stuff too. But then speaking of negativity bias, I ordered a cheesecake when I don’t usually order dessert, and… it just wasn’t one. It was a sort of chocolate mousse (with no mention of chocolate on the menu) layered on top of a bit of cream cheese, which I tried to scrape off and salvage, and no base. I left with that annoying feeling of unsatiated, unsatisfied fullness, and lost amongst that was any memory of the stuff Lost in the Lanes had done really well.

Was seated very quickly and the staff was really friendly and helpful. I got a delicious vegan fried tofu burger that came with chips with the skin on. The burger was great, soft and nice vegan bun. The chips were alright, not my favourite in cut or flavour but decent.

Absolutely blown away! Last minute find as we randomly travelled to Brighton for the day with no plan! My favourite cafe was already closed by the time we decided to eat. So I hit Google and Moksha popped up! The menu was very inclusive of my group so we drove straight there! Absolutely beautiful, the food is spot on! Served hot, baked and cooked to perfect! The plant based options were delicious very very delicious! The flavours, mouth water, my meat eating friends absolutely devoured my plant based options aaannnnnddd the banana bread! Wow! Oh yeah and the hash browns! Love love love! This is a new Brighton! Lastly take a read of their story online it made the whole experience even more impressive x

First time trying Moksha after hearing only good things!! We were seated promptly by a friendly staff member, and we didn’t have to wait long to order. The menu here is extensive, and the Autumn specials sounded absolutely incredible - I chose the Eggs Benedict and a coconut matcha flat white, while my husband ordered Huevos Rancheros and a fresh carrot and turmeric juice. The matcha was really good - very flavoursome and excellently frothed coconut milk! The brunch itself left a little to be desired though - the amount of Hollandaise sauce was pretty stingy for a dish which prides itself on it, and the sauce itself lacked that delicious tangy richness that pairs so well with eggs and bacon. I added some of Moksha’s own hot sauce to make up for the flavour and lack of sauce - this was really tasty. The muffins seemed homemade and were absolutely delicious, but were slightly undercooked and doughy in the centre which was a shame. I couldn’t fault the eggs or bacon, both were cooked to perfection. On the flipside, my husband’s Huevos Rancheros was a complete success - the portion was so large he struggled to finish it and the flavours were spectacular, from the smoky chorizo to the crispy tortilla and mountain of fresh guacamole. He said it’s the best brunch he’s had in his life, so I think this was the better item to order!! The atmosphere is buzzy and welcoming, and the service is quick and friendly. I would happily return to Moksha to try a different brunch item or a burger (these looked unreal!) 😇✨

I have been to Moksha so many times that I've lost count. I've just continued to fail to leave a review, which I think it's important to do for small businesses - I got round to it eventually! The food is always consistent, fresh, hot and of course - extremely yummy. They have a very good variety of options on the menu too. Moksha is always very busy if you go on peak days and times (the weekend), you can guarantee you'll need to wait in a queue before getting seated. However, I've found that I'm never waiting more than 15 minutes for a table of 2-4. I would definitely recommend Moksha for a fresh, hot and tasty meal!

Moksha has become our go-to breakfast place every time we visit Brighton from London – and this visit marked our fourth over the past few years. What keeps drawing us back is the consistent standard of both the food and the service, which is no small feat. On this occasion, I had the Eggs Benedict, which were absolutely delicious. My partner ordered the Huevos Benedictos – a creative and flavourful twist on the classic. Moksha clearly takes pride in using high-quality ingredients; even the muffins used in their Benedict dishes are unique and far superior to the usual fare – we’ve never come across anything quite like them elsewhere. A particularly nice touch was the sprinkle of healthy seeds over the Benedict – an unexpected detail that worked beautifully. The bacon was perfectly balanced too – not overly salty, which is ideal for anyone mindful of their sodium intake. The atmosphere is warm and relaxed, and the staff are always friendly and welcoming, which really adds to the experience. Moksha continues to be a standout breakfast spot in Brighton, and we recommend it wholeheartedly.

As always, with any review I give, I begin with 3 and add or detract accordingly. My previous three visits to this cafe were underwhelming but this one topped the others. Just because you offer a view does not afford you the right to charge ridiculous prices for very, very poor quality food. On my table today were four individuals. 3 out of four food the food to be uncooked, cold, over seasoned and in some cases(bacon) overcooked and inedible. I will not be revisiting and recommend avoidance. Setting 5/5. Seating comfort(space) 2/5. Cleanliness 3-5. Value for money. 1/5. Staff 3/5. FOOD 1/5.

Nice environment with stunning view and golf club. We experienced the classic car show in the day we visited. Food was slightly overcharged compared to the price listed. May be because of the event.

Visited here as a destination for a motoring club outing. The cafe was perfect for parking and food. The staff were unflappable and friendly despite the influx of people creating a queue that curled round the entire place. I'll certainly be making this a place to visit when I'm next in the area. Can recommend the set veggie all day breakfast :-)

Proper fry up with a sea view next to the golf course. What's not to love! You can park for free as long as you're using the cafe and the food is great. Coffee, not so much. But if you just want a big plate of classic full English and no nonsense, this is the place

Café can get quite busy but good choice on the menu including a popular breakfast menu. Service was good, food freshly cooked and pleasant outlook over the sea from an elevated raised area next to the car park. Outside seating and ladies and gents toilets.

Dropped into Café Coho in Brighton just before closing, and despite it being near the end of the day, the welcome was still warm and friendly — no sense of being hurried out the door. I ordered a strong flat white, and it was exactly what I needed: rich, full-bodied, and clearly made with care, even that close to closing time. The café itself has a clean, stylish feel without trying too hard — relaxed but with attention to detail. The staff were attentive and polite, and there was a sense that they genuinely cared about the quality of both the coffee and the customer experience. It’s easy for some places to switch off as the shutters go down, but not here. That level of consistency says a lot. I’ll absolutely be back again when I'm next in the area, whether it's for a slow sit-down or another quick pick-me-up. Highly recommend if you’re after proper coffee and a professional, no-fuss service in central Brighton.

This is one of the best cafés I've ever been to. The service was wonderful. We dropped by for brunch after arriving in Brighton for the weekend and they had pretty good options for non-vegetarian and vegetarian people. I highly recommend this café for anyone looking for a nice meal, the atmosphere was lovely and the food was incredible as well as the kind staff working there. The decoration is something to behold with how well thought out the paintings are. I highly recommend such a lovely place xx

Sat waiting for 15 minutes in the empty Cafe whilst your staff talked about ways of saying different words and then proceeded to discuss Tattoos with someone through the window! Definitely need to train them to do better. I won’t be returning to find out if they’ve improved though.

Excellent job! The two team members working this morning at 9:30am! Pace and efficiency! Fantastic lattes (hot and iced) accompanied by a Cumberland sausage roll cooked to perfection! Highly recommend, great start to the day!

We waited over 20 minutes for five coffees. Despite several staff members being around our table and serving others nearby, no one seemed to notice that we were still waiting. When we finally asked about our order, the coffees were prepared very quickly, and the staff explained that the ticket had been lost. It seems that when the café gets busy, the team struggles to manage orders efficiently. After we followed up, our drinks arrived promptly, but one was served in a takeaway cup while the others were in regular cups, and one of the coffees was incorrect. The staff were very apologetic and kindly offered a complimentary slice of cake, which we appreciated. However, because we had already waited so long, we had to rush our drinks and leave to catch a train. Given the delay and errors, I feel a partial refund would have been more appropriate. The coffee itself is really good.

Such a convenient location to the train and cute interior. The soya latte was average and the hearty garden breakfast is always a solid choice but my toast was stale. I prefer the other location in the lanes.

Met up with ex-hub in Brighton when visiting from Hampshire for a coffee and cake - well I had the cake. This cafe has been here for donkey's years. When I was 8 or 9 years old (which was 61 years ago) I remember having tea and rock cakes here and apparently they use the same recipe for the rock cakes now which are made on the premises. The rock cakes taste just the same, but now there's lovely latte as well which wasn't available years ago. If it's a nice day this is such a lovely venue and it's a hidden gem. All ages sitting around enjoying the gardens and a coffee or cup of tea. Very pleasant.

A quaint little cafe with a varied menu offering sandwiches, toasties, baguettes and hot / cold drinks. The open seating overlooks the gardens with parti views of the Pavilion. Great pit stop after walking around the city centre! I’d definitely return.

First time coming to black mocha yesterday and it definitely won’t be the last! It was so good! Food was amazing, service was great, atmosphere was perfect and really friendly staff! My friend is celiac and they were able to cater for her without any fuss. We both got the farm breakfast and it was so good! Honestly now one of my favourite breakfast places in Brighton! Coffee was also so good! Would highly recommend!

I’m a massive fan of this place, especially on a Tuesday where you can grab brunch and a drink for a tenner - not too shabby! The food here is what really caught my attention, an interesting and diverse menu that has some unique touches and twists away from the overdone avo and egg style brunch. Mine was so tasty and really vibrant and fresh. The drinks are equally as unique, with homemade pumpkin spiced syrup, a chilli hot chocolate which was delicious, and a tasty iced matcha. I worked pretty much all day, and felt well looked after, comfortable and cosy the whole time. The staff are very nice, the prices aren’t extortionate and the place has a relaxed and chill vibe. Maybe a little cramped downstairs, but bright and open upstairs. Fab stuff - see you soon!

I was in Brighton for 3 days so each day I visited. Friendly staff, great coffee and cake but the best was brunch on Sunday morning. Gluten free subs were no problem and the meal itself was the best plate I'd ever eaten. It's such a shame BM is 3 hours away from home!

Found this local coffee shop in North Laine area. Very pleased with their variety of goods from regular, vegan, and vegetarian options! Their oat milk iced latte was quite pleasant (more on the stronger side I must say). Yet their hot chocolate was quite underwhelming with it tasting similar to powdered hot chocolate. The space itself was small and would recommend going in their non-peak hours usually weekdays.

I came here with my girlfriend to enjoy some chill out time. We enjoyed the coffee and liked the fact it offered a variety of cakes. Overall service is great. The cakes were a little dry but it’s a small thing to a midget.

We stumbled on this little gem whilst have a quiet stroll through the iconic North Laine, just moments down the hill from Brighton Station. We saw the window display with a delicious selection of treats we simply had to go in. The guy working behind the counter was absolutely lovely and chatty...but beware even just a look at there arrat of delectable savoury and sweet treats and you will need to buy some (as we did). 😋

Nice and cozy cafe! It was hard to choose which slice of cake to have! I went for the white chocolate and Peanut butter! It's a little bit pricey but it was delicious. A real treat. Definitely, I'll return. I want try other cakes!! The man who served us was very friendly!

Wonderful gluten-free cake selection in this corner cafe near the Lanes. Friendly staff. Sit in the corner window seat and watch the world go by whilst sampling the cakes.

Just popped in here for the first time since living in Brighton. Nice outdoor seating as well as an inside bar area. Wonderful Sunday atmosphere with many yummy choices of food and drink. Lots of cake and pastries. Good jazz music too!! I enjoyed a solid Americano and a yogurt bowl with honey and Granola. The service was quick but I was the only patron honestly. 0930 on a Sunday. I will return for sure.

This is a little hidden gem of a place, ran by a warm and friendly guy called Walter. The coffee is first rate, with the flat white packing a punch and a great crema! With light and bright decor inside and a bijou courtyard to relax in, this is a fab find in Brighton.

We're beginning to discover more of Brighton. After 7km of wandering around, we came across this charming place for a caffeine-refuel. A really friendly, charming proprietor who was very attentive. Our sons had lovely fresh-made fruit smoothies. We had a coffee each. Service was perfect. The cakes looked delicious but we declined. (a mistake!) We sat outside in a mini-courtyard. Absolutely loved the place. A definite "find" and heartily recommended .

We were 5 minutes late to try the £3.5 coffee and croissant deal (finished by 11), so we just tried the latte. A big cup it was indeed - too hot and poorly frothed was the milk however. The end result was the absent of the latte art. Those are side issue. The key was the coffee was too bland, almost taste like boiling water.

We discovered this little gem on our way to the beach and were pleased to see it was open on Christmas day. The owner, Walter, is from Latvia. He is super warm and friendly and makes you feel welcome. We will definitely go back. Glad to know it will remain open for take away during the tier 4 restrictions.

the atmosphere is here is really calm and relaxed, perfect if you want to sit and read or have a chat with friends. staff are absolutely lovely and the food is so so so so good. i had some kind of breakfast bowl and it was gorgeous.

A unique place with a great food and drink menu and a lovely vibe! I only stopped in for a quick bite to eat for breakfast, and I had a blast. I had the healthy brunch bowl, where everything was well cooked and seasoned, and as a non-vegan, still thoroughly enjoyed it and wouldn’t have said anything was missing. The chunky avocado was a great touch too, way better than the mushy stuff. To drink I had the health elixir - or in normal terms, a honey, lemon, tumeric and ginger tea. Fresh and vibrant, it was perfectly sweet and spicy, and very delicious indeed. The vibes in the place are spot on, being friendly and welcoming like the staff, and the decor is just fabulous with all the random vintage bits and bobs around the place. They offer cakes too, but it’s the large food selection, creative and tasty, and extensive drinks options, especially teas, which makes this place stand out!

Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Lots to look at and great tunes. But best of all the FOOD - the Kimcheese sandwich and the Elixir are my lunch recommendations. Food that tastes amazing and leaves you feeling GOOD X

We came here on our last day at Brighton it was the perfect breakfast before the long travel home. The decorations are all very unique and they have different things up for sale around the cafe. I'm a vegetarian with lactose intolerance ordered the health bowl which I loved. All my family meals looked lovely. The only thing I would say is the green juice was not what I had expected but still tested nice.

Love the atmosphere here, the staff are very inviting and polite. The decoration is unique and interesting and the layout is simple but intuitive. Having ordered the Russian caravan black tea I was slightly disappointed by the lack of flavour produced by the leaves, they seemed as if perhaps past their best which is unfortunate given the price. I have heard however that the food is brilliant and the coffee is very nice too, definitely worth a visit and a lovely local café

Cute cafe with friendly staff. There is also second floor where there are more space and facing the backyard. You can pay arts in this cafe.

Matcha wasn’t that flavourful or bright but service was good. Ladies were very sweet at the counter and added some more matcha to my drink.

We were delighted to find this great coffee shop during our visit to Brighton! The coffee, pastries, and sandwiches were fresh and flavorful but if you want a nutritious meal I suggest the owner’s homemade savory root vegetable soup! It was fabulous! The good size portion kept me fueled most of the day! Everyone was so friendly. The service was great! Our two times to eat there during our one week stay will be a standout memory from our time in Brighton!

Cute little coffee shop with some nice baked goods. We stopped off for a coffee and some pastries which were white chocolate cannoli and a pistachio sfogliatelle (excuse my spelling), both lovely but nothing spectacular. The place has a lovely relaxed atmosphere with some great art on the walls. The staff seemed polite enough.

Nice cafe for a pitstop with some fine snacks. Nothing amazingly special. The cafe is pretty nice. Very big - has upstairs seating so it would be good for bigger groups. Drinks here are fine. Nothing special at all.

lovely small little cafe with relaxed vibe, good food and decent drinks. We had a few coffees along with a BLT and emmental melt (basically a reuben without the meat) - both sandwiches excellent and worth the small wait. Coffee all £3.50+ sandwiches £7/8 so more than you'd pay in Pret etc - but good sizes and much better quality. Pretty quiet when we visited on Sunday early afternoon, but perfect for a quick break and snack before we headed to the Amex for the rugby.

We came here after going to the hospital hoping for some nice food. After ordering our food (builders breakfast) I heard the girl that was cooking moaning that we wanted crispy bacon and staring at us making us feel uncomfortable. While waiting for our food we ordered drinks the hot chocolate was amazing. I heard one member of staff saying there boss wasn't there and they were struggling. Once the food came I noticed it was nowhere near the food safety temperature of 75 degrees and was definitely below. I then proceeded to try to eat as I was hungry however the chips seemed defrosted and not even cooked, the beans were cold, the sausage was hard inside and cold and the bacon looked boiled or undercooked. We didn't eat our food and asked for the bill I told them the problem and the member of staff came out to tell me rudely that it was cooked to 90 degrees I just ok as After coming out of the hospital I wasn't in the mood to argue. We paid for our drinks and left so at least we didn't have to pay for an uncooked meal I'm a head chef of 10 years I understand that there can be a lot of pressure in a kitchen however food arriving late rather than uncooked would've been a better solution. I found the chef on very unprofessional and lying to cover there backs I really hope the manager trains the chef to an appropriate level before leaving them on there own. I'm sure the Cafe is usually a nice place to eat and there food hygiene certificate does state a score of 4/5 I feel there is perhaps just a little lack of training

As someone who lives in the area but spends a lot of time away, this place is one of the reasons I love coming home. Still the best BLTs I have ever tasted and a warm welcome every time. As a dog lover, I love meeting their canine customers and the relaxed atmosphere always makes me smile.

Very comfortable. The staff make you feel at home & the food is amazing. So filling, even the salads. So nice to be made to feel at home & that nothing is too much trouble. Love coming here & I highly recommend it to anybody visiting Kemptown in Brighton. You won't be disappointed

We stumbled upon this cafe/restaurant while wondering around quieter parts of Brighton and it was the best place in the whole town! They have many healthy food choices, super tasty milkshakes and the nicest service. The owners gave us super helpful advice on what to see in Brighton. If someone is looking for a friendly, quiet cafe this is a place to go.

Breakfasts are delicious, prices are great. Perfect place to go to after a night shift. Full english breakfast is about £5.50, but for £3 extra u can get a double portion. Options for vegetarians and vegans also available. 10% disc for NHS staff. The only things is missing on their menu is freshly squeezed orange juice 😊

Quirky looking coffee house. Loads of different coffee beans for the conisure. The house blend is fine. Chilled atmosphere. Places where you can and can't use wi-fi. All on one floor, so access for wheelchairs is ok. There is an outside eating area in the front. Food looks good, tastes better. At least vegetarian but much is vegan. Looks homemade. Prices are less than certain well known brands of coffee places. The place has the feel of an old fashioned pub. The staff are really good. Chatty, generally nice to chat with. I have been 2 times... They remembered how I have my drink a week later.

Bumped into a friend outside, so went in. Instant chilled vibe. Hugely eclectic decor and 'lived-in' feel. Didn't have any limes for our g&t's... so the (I think) owner/manager, went out and got some. Don't know if it was Happy Hour, but 2 large g&t's for £12 was impressively cheap. Busy for the time of day without feeling crowded. Will return for more than a quick drink.

A cosy little coffee shop with comfortable seating and delightful decor. An interesting little take on cups with no handles :-) . Also has downstairs seating. A hot chocolate and a latte came to about £6.20 to give a rough idea on pricing. The staff are very pleasant and cheerful also helpful and good.

Superb independent coffee shop - chilled but sofisticated. We had an oatmilk flatwite and a veggie sausage roll - what a combo! - both were delicious. Nice seating outside. About the coffee, it is good to have a flatwite with the right amount of coffee and not too much milk, and even more when it is served in their own ceramic cup. Without a shed of a doubt, one of the best coffees you can have in Brighton.

A little quiet in a bustling street. This dark and mysterious place was a butchers to start. It became known as "Jennifers"... The only place in Brighton that you could get fags and booze after 11pm. At first glance it looks dark and dreary due to the décor and lighting. But hidden gem... Go down the staircase... Relaxation. Chilled. Comfortable. The cups don't have handles. The cups are quite small. I think it is worth going for the ambience. Come here if you want a little oasis in a busy street. Go down the staircase. Enjoy. I did🤣

What a find! Wonderful place that I just pottered into while waiting for Purezza to open next door. So glad I did. Best decaf coffee I have ever had. Would have had loads of them, but that pretty much defeats the purpose of decaf! Love the rich interiors and friendly service. Coffee is taken for serious enjoyment here! Stunning loo too! 🤣

Coffee here is exceptional. I went for a Oat Milk Flat White. Beautiful brew! The decoration is warm, and inviting. Everything has purpose to calm you down, even the pay terminal is on-brand color

Such a fantastic cafe! The customer service as soon as you step in the door is top quality and makes you feel very at ease and welcome. The staff are super friendly and nice, and the coffee (decaf option too) tastes amazing! Great range of alternative milks so brilliant for vegans, and so many different drinks to choose from! The atmosphere and music is very good and I can’t recommend this place enough! :)

Very cute cafe with great indoor and outdoor seating. Took a while to be served, and I'm not sure they had vegan food items, but my smoothie was tasty, even though they were out of the ingredients for the first one I ordered.

I moved in to Hove recently and tried this cafe for the first time today. When I entered the cafe there was no staff there, and I had nothing but waiting to do. I could hear the staff was talking and laughing, probably they could see me on camera but for some reason they decided not to serve me. After 10 minutes tlone of the staff came and asked "Are you waiting for something?" I was really surprised to hear that. It's obvious that I was waiting to be served. I am Japanese and I live here. I am a legal alien. I don't know who they thought I am, but why they choose who to serve, and who not to serve.

Place seemed nice, staff were friendly. I had a toasted ham and cheese croissant which looked fine at first, but tasted a bit burnt. After I took a few bites I turned it over and the other side was just black. I left that part uneaten on the plate. The lady in charge walked past multiple times and looked directly at it, but said nothing. If it was something hard to see, I would understand, but it had to come out like that, be placed faced down so it wasn't obvious, then get ignored multiple times by the manager who had several opportunities to see that it was burnt.

Lovely lovely place, I can't recommend more. My friends and I stopped by on Sunday at about 11:30, we were a big party of 8 people but they accommodated us so well! They had really lovely food options, even as a vegetarian, the food was absolutely delicious and the staff were so kind and understanding. Best tasting mushrooms I've ever had to be honest

It's a nice place for a breakfast, but the amount of food for the price is not really pleasing. Although there are really good options for customisation of your breakfast. Coffee was really good tho, enjoyed every sip! I like the interior design, it's innovative and cool, I didn't like the type of music that was playing, it felt like the same song was on repeat... Staff is very nice and friendly, cheers to them!

I recently visited Cafe Novaand was blown away by the cozy atmosphere and delicious menu options. The staff was friendly and accommodating, making my experience even better. I tried their signature latte and it was hands down the best I've had. The food options were also top-notch, with unique and creative options. I highly recommend this cafe for anyone looking for a fantastic meal and warm atmosphere. I can't wait to go back.

Fresh food, excellent preparing very good presentation very clean I had a lovely jacket potato. It was so nice we cooked with nice salad thank you.

This is a really good cafe with good food and ambience. I'm a vegetarian and there are several options available here as a vegetarian and it's delicious too. I would definitely recommend it to everyone for breakfast, brunch, lunch and any type of meal.

Can’t believe we spent over £20 and apparently this wasn’t enough to get our card stamped! Apparently only for coffee but it just says hot drinks on the card (does not specify just coffee), so that’s rather mean. Also zero choice for vegans with food.

What a little gem this place is! We popped in for breakfast this morning on a wet and miserable day and were greeted warmly and enjoyed a delicious breakfast and good coffee in quirky but cosy surroundings. And as an added bonus we were able to do a bit of shopping in the attached vintage shop! We will return!

Great place for a tasty, abundant and real breakfast/lunch. There are a couple of things that could be improved (coffee could be better and table service is a bit slow), but overall, a great place with great food and such a Brightonian atmosphere

A+++ This is Brighton part of town that is very trendy. This cafe/store is the perfect place 👌 for it. The staff is very chill, helpful, good food, great coffee. On the customer side it's easy to see that everybody is speaking to anyone without knowing each others, Love it ❤. Don't be surprised to see people walking down the street with or without any gender looking, it's brilliant. Wheelchair ♿ friendly. Definitely give it a go... Wonderful little coffee shop I visited in the morning after seeing it advertised on Instagram. 2 wonderful flat whites and a great selection of delicious vegan alternatives made me choose the delicious Mushroom Breakfast Brioche! Fantastic service, great seating, great business. Would highly recommend!

Honestly, that “really good coffee” sign outside of the shop is not lying! First time coming here this past Sunday. The cappuccino was incredible (definitely one of the best in Brighton) and the cookie was amazing too (specifically, a perfect amount of softness inside the cookie). The order was around £6.50 which is definitely on the pricey end, but personally I was satisfied with what I spent. Service was great too and the smell of the coffee being made was particularly satisfying. I’ll definitely be returning very soon. Overall, I’d give it like 8 or 9 out of 10. Location is probably the only downside. I hope this shop is able to expand and open a spot further in town or by the sea.

Hi guys great little cafe. But damn I was charged £4 for a latte that came in a XS flat white cup. The thing didn’t even fit my car drunk holder and ended up upside down on my lap. Great coffee but for £4 for a tiny cup no thanks

Incredible specialty coffee shop with a great range of single origins. I had some of the best customer service Iv ever received from a young man who I think was called Jake, really went the extra mile to give me information about washing processes and the farms where the coffee was grown. Recommend this cafe to anyone who loves coffee and a nice place to catch up with friends. 10/10 cakes and baked which I believe Jake makes also.

Best coffee in Brighton for sure. Nice talking with barista and he brewed me V60 with costa rican beans. And they have nice indoor and outdoor sitting. I higly recommend this place!

The main reason for the 3 stars is mainly the price. Nothing on the menu is particularly new or exciting, neither the selection of fresh pastries and cookies. Portions are London-like. The filter coffee, rosted by them, is nothing special. I ended up being rather disappointed with the food, even though the staff is attentive and quick, the environment is quiet and warm, and I can see myself spending some time there reading. Lowering the price 15%-20% would make this place to go up dramatically.

I found the cafe well-presented with adequate seating and cosy decor. However, It can get busy; the queuing system is what you make out of it. Bless you in advance if queue up during a busy time. My cause of concern, and other reviews mention the same, the staff just don’t care. I ordered an iced flat white to be handed an iced latte?. The barista called out an iced latte a few times, I approached to clarify, and was effortlessly presented with “here you go mate”….. the iced latte, it was my problem. I sought to clarify, but no response. I suppose the coffee is their saving grace; the beans taste spectacular, smooth and fresh. I’ll continue buying their beans; I recommend.

Was suggested by a friend for our trip to Brighton, and glad we did! The vegan pastries were great, as was the coffee!

A special find is to be made in this cafe, greeted by friendly and informative staff on our recent visit. Following some gorgeous cappuccinos as seen on the attached picture myself and my partner settled in for some breakfast. I had the delicious vegan breakfast, excellently cooked and flavoursome. My partner had the vegan Shakshouka and thoroughly enjoyed it. No complaints to be had.

Cute place to soak up the atmosphere of Hove. Chilled and friendly. Most people who ordered coffees were regulars and chatted to the staff for a while. There's space for laptops and there is free WiFi. A few things could be improved in the building itself and unfortunately the batch machine wasn't working and v60 was out too, but the other coffees were high quality.

They seem to rely on their customers being in a rush for their trains, as they consistently give out lattes that are half foam. £4 for about 3 inches of coffee is outrageous. There's a pret 20 yards away who deliver much better service, and for something like £20 a month they offer unlimited drinks. Sadly a lot of independent coffee shops in the area seem to be consistently worse than generic corporate ones.

The worst flat white I've had from a speciality coffee shop. Nothing like the pictures from reviews which are dated a few months ago. Completely watery, beans were clearly not dialled in correctly (harsh earthy, grass flavour), too much volume for a flat white, with no frothed milk or latte art (see picture). Unfortunate, and such a shame, as I was excited to try a local Brighton coffee roastery. Came nearish closing time, and fedback to staff about the coffee not being right. But the place has a nice interior, look and feel.

Had a great time here. The pistachio croissant was amazing, perfectly baked and full of flavor. The coffee was decent, and the overall vibe of the place was really nice, making it a pleasant spot to relax. Definitely worth a visit!

Where do I even begin? I hosted my regular group meet-up here last Saturday evening, and it was absolutely delightful! The set price made everything so smooth no fussing over the final bill, just pure enjoyment. The freshly prepared Mediterranean dishes paired with delicious wine were exactly what the doctor ordered. An unforgettable evening with my girls. I’ll definitely be back thank you for a beautiful experience!

This coffee shop is a jewel ! The decaf soy cortado is the best in town and I’m an expert. The service is delightful and they make you feel so special it’s like you’re one of the family. This place is all kinds of good things but mainly it is FULL OF LOVE, traditional Turkish art, and British Turkish hospitality. I love them and the community they are building around them x

almost perfect! the only issue was the espresso shot for my iced latte was not fresh. a bunch of shots had been drawn earlier that were just being measured out. I know to most people it dosent matter, but I feel when im paying a premium price it should be done properly

It's a lovely place for breakfast, the fried chicken burger was tasty and you get a lot of chicken and extras so I'd say it's worth the £13.50. Gave 4 stars as I felt the hot chocolate could have been more creamy and chocolatey. Staff were very friendly and the interior has a nice vibe.

We had a great breakfast at FIKA, delicious food, friendly service and a really relaxed atmosphere. Our little one especially enjoyed their eggs!

Since I arrived in Brighton, I haven’t found a better café than Fika😍 I’ve tried several of their branches, and the staff were always genuinely friendly and kind. I really appreciate a café that values its customers, and I highly recommend everyone to give it a try.

Was walking past looking for a quick bite to eat. Menu looked interesting so we ordered one sandwich each. My one was amazing, it had salmon, egg, cream cheese, cheddar, in brioche bread! Forgot what my wife got but we took some pics. Príce was not bad. The food was served quickly. I would definitely come here again. 5*!

The food was excellent, great coffee but a bit hectic. FIKA is a really fun experience. It's buzzing and loud, filled with cool people and stylish interiors. The food is visually impressive, big dirty stacks of delicious chicken and bacon. It took a bit of hovering to get a table, and we shared with a family of four. Don't let that put you off, just get there early.

We visited for the first time today and were very disappointed. The venue is not neurodivergent-friendly, and some staff members appeared unaware of hidden disabilities. For example, when my autistic 9-year-old son, who has a language disorder, asked for a straw, he was pointedly told to say “please" from the member of staff who was not serving us and standing on the back far from till. This could easily have triggered a meltdown and self-harm as it is hard for him to express himself due to his disabilities. The environment was also overwhelming: loud music, strong food smells, and sensory overload made it difficult even to hear staff bringing orders. On arrival, we also helped an elderly lady get inside because she didn’t realise the place was already open – it was very cold and windy outside at around 9 a.m. On our way out, both my son and I said “thank you,” but the staff didn’t pay any attention or respond. This came across as very unprofessional and dismissive. The only positive was that the pastry tasted nice, though it wasn’t fresh. Unfortunately, this experience has put us off returning.

It is a perfect place for getting hot chocolate or chocolate smoothie. There are many different option on the menu, will suggest people afraid bitter chocolate try the milk chocolate section on the menu. The marshmallow from this place is really nice to go with the chocolate and looks very cute. There are a few indoor and out door seats here but not so many, it’s a mainly take away shop. The hot chocolate powder and gift sections is adorable, many different packages in different season. Must be perfect souvenir to bring home and share with friends.

It's a nice and cosy place where you can choose from a good variety of hot and cold chocolate drink. I have had a iced white chocolate... 100% recommend!!!!! So so tasty!!!! It was like eating a yummy bar of white chocolate 🍫 😋 Can't wait to be back again to try the iced Dubai chocolate drink 😋

Definitely one of the best hot chocolates I’ve had. Nice and creamy, I had the dark chocolate version and it was perfectly balanced. Very nicely laid out options on the chocolate grading and efficient service experience. Limited seating space

Best place to get hot chocolate and milkshakes in town! I've been coming here for years and love it. The staff and service are great and there's so much choice on the menu. My favourite drink spot in town.

Quite probably the nicest hot chocolate & Mocha I’ve had in the UK I particularly liked the format of ordering; being able to choose the Cocoa Percentage is a great idea. I’m especially fond of Dark Chocolate and have spent some time getting to know the differences in cocoa content as well as the geographical location of said bean! It really does make a difference. And being given the choice really does add to the experience. Bravo Knoops!

The best hot chocolate in the world, ever. The only way it could be better is if I had my own private store in my garden! I need the owner to teach me to make hot chocolate the way they do and then life would be complete!

This is one of my favorite breakfast that I had on our trip. My friend had beans and toast, the beans were gigantic, and they did taste good. She really liked her breakfast. My other friend and I split the pancakes with Nutella and Biscoff crumbled cookies. And the avocado toast. Having both of these dishes together for breakfast was so delicious! I miss it already!! We sat outside and enjoyed our breakfast in the sunshine.

We visited Vios Cafe in Brighton on two mornings and absolutely loved it! We had the Smashed Avocado on Toast and the Beans on Toast – the beans were giant and delicious! Everything was spot on – the portion sizes, the taste, and even the presentation were perfect. Highly recommend this cosy spot for a great breakfast!

We had a lovely breakfast at Vios this morning. Service was prompt and friendly. Yoghurt bowl delicious. My cappuccino excellent.

Loved the vibe and the food was so delicious! Definitely recommend the Nutella pancakes and avocado toast. Coffees are great too! Great spot for a brunch - right in the middle of the narrow lanes that lead you to the Brighton beach!

Found this cafe in The Lanes when looking for a nice breakfast before the drive home after staying at the Leonardo hotel. Cracking little place, great coffee and pastries. Excellent, friendly service.

Gave our order of 2 extra hot oat lattes. We sat and waited and waited. Takeaway orders were taken and delivered and we still waited for ours. Eventually we got our order which were not hot. Sent 1 back. Mentioned the takeaways and was told all takeaways are completed first ! We said it was odd. The waitress argued the point to the point of rudeness. Asked her to stop. I explained that if there was a queue of takeaway orders, when would we get our coffee. Ridiculous and disappointing

Highly recommended for coffee lovers and light breakfast and lunch. Great place for a first or 200th date.

I was served by a lovely young lady this morning - it was just 5 minute interaction but it really made my day. Also the drink selection (matcha in particular) is great as well as food selection. I have loved coming here ever since I moved to Brighton.

We are visitors to Brighton (hospital)and saw the reviews online for this lovely little coffee house. Delicious coffee, delicious sausage roll, my wife said the tea and cinnamon bun were ever so tasty. We were served by a lovely young lady who had a smile when talking and serving. Our little dog sat in the window and watched the world go by. Highly recommend this coffee shop.

Avoid the gluten free friand. Rubbery, weirdly solid, lacking in flavour, and £3. Coffee at 33 in Trafalgar St. does a whole slice of lemon polenta cake for £3.50. The texture of which delights. The espresso was just about ok. Slight metallic taint.

We love Ground, it's our favourite local coffee shop! The new location is great and the fact that they now do brunch is brilliant, we tried it for the first time today and the ultimate bacon butty is possibly the best bacon butty I've ever had. Coffee from Pharmacie Coffee Roasters is delicious and well prepared, and the staff here are always friendly. There aren't many places you can get coffee and brunch for £10. Just a lovely atmosphere, nice music and chilled vibes, a great coffee shop.

Really delicious pain au raisin made with butter. Their GF bakes were also great with their well brewed cup of joe. Highly recommend when in the area!

Always lovely and welcoming at Ground, plus super dog friendly 💜 prices for coffee, food and retail coffee are really reasonable compared to some other speciality coffee shops in the area. Not a lot of seating so it can get busy and full quickly!

My Boyfriend and I have been coming here practically every week since we got together. The staff are amazing, coffee is perfect taste and strength, really lovely atmosphere.

Randomly chose this place for a breakfast. Had a lovely mortadella sandwich and a really nice coffee here this morning! Had it half toasted and the other half as it was, both ways delicious. Really friendly and attentive service by the staff.

Lovely little cafe at the back of the main station in Brighton. A good selection of drinks both hot and cold. The Green smoothie was very nicely prepared and decent value at £4. The cappuccino was a little too foamy for my tastes, although much better than most. Temperature and the roasted beans they used were perfect. Overall, it is an easy recommendation as long as you like your cappuccino a little foamy, that is.

Lovely service, really appreciated the effort made by the gentleman there. Really nice coffee. Chai could have been a little stronger but still tasty. Recommend if you're around that way! Can't comment on the food as we didn't have any, but also looked nice

Beautiful and warming place near the hustle and bustle of Brighton. Went there on a Saturday morning, we were greeted by a friendly owner, who was very helpful. Ordered a breakfast sandwich with mozzarella, pancetta, rocket & tomato, all in a delicious toasted ciabatta. We were left with a wonderful “Have a Beautiful weekend” as we were leaving, and safe to say, we came back the next day for some coffee!

We went and had a cortado, americano, and a croissant. Coffees were smooth and delicious with no bitterness. Croissant was perfectly flaky and melted in your mouth. Staff were very friendly and kind. I highly recommend to anyone coming to Brighton!!
