The Public Garden, established in 1837 and located adjacent to Boston Common, is a serene and picturesque city park featuring a lagoon, boat rides, fountains, and various attractions. This historic Victorian-era garden boasts meticulously groomed flower beds showcasing 80 plant species, ornate fencing, tree-lined pathways with benches for relaxation, and iconic public art such as the Duckling Sculpture and a statue of George Washington.
My family is here on a college visit and we like to wake up early. We decided to go to the Public garden for the first time on a Sunday morning around 8 am. It was absolutely beautiful. It was quiet and calm. Perfect way to start your day.

Such a beautiful and peaceful spot! I could have stayed all day, especially with the perfect fall weather. I captured some amazing Boston shots during my mini photoshoot. While there were plenty of people and lots of photo-taking happening, there were also plenty of quiet corners to escape the crowds. Truly loved my time here!
Katherine G — Google review
The Boston Public Garden is a must-see! It's a gorgeous escape right in the middle of the city, and a perfect spot to relax and get away from all the noise. The trees are stunning, especially in the fall when the colors are just magical. I love watching the squirrels play and taking a stroll along the paved pathways. The famous Swan Boats on the lagoon are a charming sight, and the park is great for all ages. It's completely free to enter, open from dawn to dusk, and super easy to get to with the Arlington and Boylston T stops nearby. Don't forget to say hi to the "Make Way for Ducklings" statue! It's a beautiful, peaceful place that's perfect for a walk, a date, or just unwinding.
Anya G — Google review
We love this place! It’s serene and peaceful. This time around, we rode on the Swan Boat which was so nice since the last time we were here was in the Fall and the lake was empty. So glad we were able to check it out in the Summer. Be aware if it’s hot outside, the Swan boat is open so you are exposed to the sun and the elements, but you get a nice breeze from the water.
Rosa V — Google review
Absolutely stunning! The Public Garden is magical in the fall — the colors are breathtaking. A perfect place to walk, relax, and enjoy nature.
Estefania G — Google review
Loved visiting the public garden. It was so beautiful when we visited. Each tree has a history behind it and a plaque attached telling you where it’s originally from. Lots of space and great for families
Matthew M — Google review
This public garden is stunning! Right next to Boston Common but wayyyy better in my opinion! There are plenty of comfortable benches in the shade of old growth trees. The pond is lovely and helps keep the whole area cool. I was there on a busy Saturday morning and yet it felt peaceful enough to read and reflect. I would recommend taking time to just sit and embrace the beautiful weather. There is a large pond that you can pay to ride around on a medium sized man powered boat. Also there was a small craft fair that popped up on the sidewalk just outside of the park around 11 a.m., it was fun to walk through and look at the vendors' items.
Megan B — Google review
Boston Public Garden completely will steal your heart. From the moment you stepped in, you will felt like you had entered a peaceful, green sanctuary right in the middle of the city. The landscaping is stunning—vivid flowers in full bloom, lush trees that offer shade and comfort, and carefully maintained pathways that invite you to stroll slowly and soak in the atmosphere. One of my favorite moments was watching the iconic Swan Boats glide gently across the pond. It felt like something out of a storybook. I also loved seeing families, couples, and solo visitors all enjoying the space in their own way—whether reading a book under a tree, having a picnic, or just relaxing on a bench. I took my time wandering through the park, taking photos of the beautiful statues and fountains, especially the George Washington statue. Everything about the garden feels peaceful, thoughtful, and timeless. It’s not just a park—it’s a place that invites you to pause and breathe. If you’re visiting Boston, you absolutely cannot miss this place. It’s a perfect blend of nature, history, and quiet joy. I’ll definitely be coming back whenever I’m in the city. Highly recommended for all ages and interests.

Fenway Park is a historic and intimate ballpark located in Boston, known as the home of the Red Sox and a venue for big-name concerts. It holds a significant place in Boston's built environment, alongside landmarks like Faneuil Hall and the Freedom Trail. The stadium offers behind-the-scenes tours during the off-season and hosts a popular summer concert series.
Fenway is a iconic and historic ballpark. This was such an amazing experience. Saw the Red Sox vs. Houston Argos game (2-1 home win for Red Sox) and had a wonderful time. The atmosphere and energy from the crowd was amazing and the lighteffects after the win were super cool. Food and beverages were okay priced, not too expensive in my opinion. Great experience being there!
Hugo B — Google review
This is the best tour I’ve been on in a long time! The street and local atmosphere is something out of a movie, and the tour is very affordable and informative. The guide was fantastic, telling fun stories of his life in Boston and his 10 years working at the field. We saw everything from the original seats to the press box, the green monster, and the special VIP museum that holds World Series balls, bats, uniforms and memorabilia from over the decades. I would recommend this tour to anyone I know, especially baseball lovers. So worth the time and money!
Ashley F — Google review
We took a guided tour of the Fenway stadium. Booked just about 45mins before the tour from the kiosk at the Gate D entrance on the Jersey street. Great experience. The tour guide, Abby (if I remember correctly), was great - very informed as well as great style of presenting facts. With very long history and so many interesting things happened with the Red Sox, the tour was definitely worth it. We don’t watch baseball and have only elementary knowledge of rules but it was still very much easy to understand. Definitely to be done if you’re in Boston.
Jay M — Google review
This was my first time visiting Fenway Park, and even though my team wasn’t playing, I knew I couldn’t come to Boston without checking it out. I’m so glad I did, the energy inside the stadium was incredible! From the moment I walked in, I felt the history and passion that make Fenway such a special place for baseball fans. The crowd was electric, and what really stood out was the sense of community. The entire stadium came together, singing songs, cheering, and living and breathing every moment of the game. I felt completely swept up in the excitement. We just so happened to be there for the game the Red Sox clinched their spot in the playoffs with a walk-off win! The stadium absolutely erupted. I’ve never felt that kind of excitement at a ball game before. You didn’t have to be a Red Sox fan to appreciate the moment. Being there for that walk-off and watching the team celebrate was something I’ll never forget. Fenway isn’t just a place to watch baseball it’s a place to feel it. The atmosphere, the history, the energy it all makes for an incredible experience.
Jennifer S — Google review
Had a wonderful tour of Fenway Park with George. Loved his World Series rings. As a full time employee, he also gets a ring when the team does. The history of the ball park is so fascinating to hear. George did a beautiful job of telling the tales & was so enthusiastic about them. Another bucket list check off.
Connie I — Google review
Fenway Park is one of the Mecca's of MLB that every baseball fan needs to visit in person. It was great attending a Boston Red Sox game in the one of the oldest baseball parks in America. The food was good and at a decent price, but it was the surrounding bars and restaurants around the park that made it a great overall baseball and sporting experience!
Josh B — Google review
Being a Cub fan from Chicago, home to the most iconic stadium in all of sport, I must say that I continue to be impressed with the condition of Fenway Park. It's no Wrigley Field, and it being a few years older, doesn't make it "grander", but it's a fun place to see a game. The fans are pretty great, and supportive of their team, but the place emptied out long before the game was over because the Sox were getting their butts kicked. You don't ever see that at Wrigley... no matter what the score. I was in Yankee Stadium in this trip out East too, and I continued to be unimpressed with that ballpark.
Larry B — Google review
Came out from California, San Francisco Giants fan. Got a real good look at this beautiful ballpark. I think what makes it special is the foul lines. Makes it look like an old ballpark I used to play in when I was 12 years old. Just kidding. But it does make it look really authentic when you're young playing baseball. We had a great time with the guide. He was very knowledgeable. And he was from California. I would strongly suggest this place if you are a baseball fan. The tour is great.

Very unique museum! I'm very glad I left the toddler at home - definitely only for kids who will absolutely not touch, as many works of art are not protected. The cafe makes for a nice little break in the day. The prices were $20/plate but it was delicious. We spent maybe 2.5 hrs total including lunch.

I have wanted to visit for years and I finally got my chance. What a wonderful museum. I truly enjoyed that it was organized the way she wanted and that won't change. I found it refreshing that there weren't descriptions posted on everything because I'd recently felt that, for me personally, I was spending more time reading and less time observing. The courtyard is delightful and unifies the whole museum, the floral design was beautiful. Thank you to all the helpful staff as well. I'm looking forward to my next visit
Lisa S — Google review
Amazing I’ve been dying to come to this museum for 5 years now and finally I was able to see it. The collection is extensive and gorgeous. The garden transports you to a calm and serene place. I spent about 30 minutes looking out into it and admiring it before continuing with the rest of the museum
Paola F — Google review
Visited on a weekday with my child and had a great experience exploring the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. The museum has three floors filled with a variety of art objects, each room curated with its own unique theme. Many rooms feature beautiful and rare religious artifacts. Even on a weekday, it was quite crowded, so moving through some areas took time. Timed-entry tickets are required, so it’s best to reserve in advance. The courtyard garden is stunning, with blooming flowers creating a peaceful and colorful atmosphere. Overall, it was a good visit and worth the trip.
Rose D — Google review
This was by far one of the coolest collections of art from around the world. I have never visited such a well thought out installation. The walk through was a feast for the eyes! Each room was better than the last and the interior garden was breathtaking!
Michelle B — Google review
Wow. This was a stunning collection of art, carefully curated into distinct rooms to complement each piece. The museum itself is beautiful and peaceful. It has art but also lots of fun pieces of history as well. The audioguides are informative and interesting! I spent 3 hours here, but could have spent the day. I do love museums though. Definitely worth a visit! Come early and/or book tickets online. They do sell out. There is a cafe and a gift shop.
Brittany S — Google review
The museum’s famous garden was beautiful, and there was certainly a great number of collections for an individual to amass. However, I wish there had been more explanations or descriptions next to the exhibits. We visited as soon as it opened on Saturday, and it was already quite packed to really enjoy the art.
Gabbie K — Google review
An extraordinary museum with a unique atmosphere that feels more like stepping into a beautiful home than a gallery. The courtyard is breathtaking, the art collection is diverse, and every corner tells a story. A peaceful yet inspiring place that combines history, architecture, and culture in a way unlike any other museum. Truly unforgettable.

The Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University is a sprawling outdoor museum that showcases an impressive array of trees, shrubs, and flowering plants from all corners of the globe. Spanning hundreds of acres, this living museum offers meticulously curated gardens and themed landscapes for visitors to explore. With over 15,000 specimens representing more than 4,000 species, it's a paradise for botanists and nature enthusiasts alike.
I had my first visit here the other day and really enjoyed it. There’s such a wide variety of plant life and fauna that I don’t usually see in the city. I only toured a small portion of the grounds but was impressed with the design and welcoming environment. The bonsai tree exhibit was remarkable. I’m looking forward to visiting again, especially in the fall.
Alex S — Google review
Absolute gem of Boston. One of the northeast's most impressive and comprehensive collection of landscape plants in my opinion. There are clean grounds, labelled plants, bathrooms, and plenty of sitting area. The ground are quite large and are jam packed with a slew of unique and spectacular plants. It is hard to put into works how beautiful and horticulturally significant this site is, so do yourself a favor and go check it out! Also, do check out the bonsai collection. There are a few impressive and very old trees.
Quinn S — Google review
I participated in the MassQ ball at the Arboretum this past weekend and it was an amazing event and experience. I feel as though I rediscovered or rather newly discovered hidden parts and paths Id never seen before. I've been going to the Arboretum since I was a little girl and it was like a whole new place for me. I can't wait to go back

The Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University is an extraordinary destination for nature lovers and anyone seeking a peaceful escape from the city. The grounds host an extensive collection of trees, shrubs, and plants from around the world, carefully curated to showcase their beauty and diversity. Walking through the arboretum feels like exploring a living museum of horticulture, with each section offering something unique to admire. Seasonal changes bring new colors and experiences, from vibrant spring blossoms to the stunning foliage of autumn. The pathways are clean, well maintained, and thoughtfully designed to guide visitors through the expansive landscape, creating an enjoyable and accessible experience for individuals and families alike. Educational placards and guided tours provide opportunities to learn about the rich history and scientific research that Harvard supports within these grounds. Overall, the Arnold Arboretum is not only a visual delight but also a valuable resource for education and relaxation.

I love taking a walk and looking at trees - if you enjoy the same thing, it is a wonderful place for you! Tons of trees from all over the world - be them happy or not at the moment - nevertheless making it a beautiful collection in the nature. I wish the weather could have been better when I visited! p.s., the place is free, with street parking available (may have 2-hr limit, though).

Another great green space to take a nice walk and very dog friendly. Lots of extra trails off of the main paved trail. Lots of trees and plants to explore. Easy free parking.

Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park is a stunning public park in Boston, Massachusetts that offers a variety of activities and events throughout the year. It features a play area for children, beautiful gardens, and picturesque views of the waterfront. The park hosts numerous cultural events and festivals that showcase the city's diverse culture. Visitors can enjoy leisurely walks along the waterfront promenade while taking in breathtaking vistas of Boston Harbor and the city skyline.
What a pretty place right in the city. On a recent visit I met one of the community volunteers who keeps up the beautiful flower garden. Included are a couple of pics of their flowers. I also saw lots of young kids getting selfies and school and dance photos. From people walking their dogs to others just enjoying the peace it is a lovely place to just be.
Ginger G — Google review
I was impressed with this park because there is so much to 🙈 see! The harbor view, the Trellis, the Beirut Memorial, Rose Kennedy Garden with the water fountain ⛲, but where is Christopher Columbus? His pedestal is there but he is gone baby gone! He was "decorated", had comments posted on him, literally, beheaded and has finally moved to a new 🆕 home. The Park has its own Wikipedia page 📄 and is considered the start of the Boston Irish Heritage Trail. The creation and idea 💡 for the park has at least two different accounts. The Massachusetts State Council of the Knights of Columbus devoloped the park and named it after their patron, Christopher Columbus. In 1967, the Council had voted to establish a non-profit corporation whose goal 🥅 was to construct affordable housing. Another account is that Frank S. Christian, a local 🏦 banker, had planned the Park to be named Waterfront Park while developing the effort for the park's construction 🚧. The account continues that Authur Stivaletta, considered a local provocateur, and with the approval of Boston Mayor Kevin White, the park was named after Christopher Columbus. Kevin White had the recent support from the Italian American community of Boston in his bid for reelection as mayor. It is a well maintained and active park with minimal litter 🚮. I enjoyed exploring the area and a noticeable amount of people, including myself, were taking photos. You are not far from Faneuil Hall Marketplace or the New England Aquarium. It is worth a visit.

Toilets No public restrooms Dog-friendliness Dog friendly Picnic area No benches or tables but great place for a traditional picnic

Beautiful waterfront park dedicated to Christopher Columbus at the edge of the North End. Quite a bit of open green space to play or picnic, wonderful flower beds, and a pergola/canopy overflowing with greenery. A very nice refuge in the city.
Angelo S — Google review
This is a neat little park located between Little Italy and the Seaport in Boston. I guess that makes sense since Christopher Columbus was both an Italian and a sailor! In any event, this park is a cool place to kick back and relax on a nice sunny day.

The Boston Public Library - Central Library is a historic gem with grand Renaissance-style architecture and murals by John Singer Sargent. As the oldest municipally-funded lending library in the U.S., it boasts the iconic McKim Building, designed by renowned architect Charles Follen McKim. Visitors can enjoy free tours, lectures, and exhibits throughout the year, including Art & Architecture Tours that reveal hidden treasures like tile arches by Rafael Guastavino. The library also houses the Norman B.
Incredible space. If you love books, art, history, architecture, cool vibes and unique spaces…then this is the place for you. I highly recommend just spending a full day exploring. From the gorgeous and traditional library with the famous green lamp room to the modern addition that actually feels like a mall or an airport, there’s literally a space for everyone. Just pick your vibe and sit down with a book, your laptop, a cup of coffee, alone or with a friend and just read, study, work or my favorite… people watch! One part feels like a classic museum that you just happen to get to hang out in and the other part feels like a modern museum that you also just happen to get to hang out in! The food area with the stage is also super convenient if you’re hungry. Best part? It’s a public library so it’s all free! Definitely a place to experience in person and not just read about. Highly recommend! Enjoy! I know we did 👍

A must-see for anyone who loves libraries, books, and architecture. Beautiful place. Only had time to admire the space, but it's obvious they have a wide collection as well. Really awesome spot that's open to the public and free to visit.

I visited the library on July 3rd eager to experience this place I had heard so much about and also see their many copies of the Declaration of Independence. The library itself is stunning. I could easily have spent an entire day there, but my travel companion was not nearly as interested as I was. It is a bit of a maze to wind your way through. There are famous murals, but tracking them down took several wrong turns and guidance from staff to locate. I cannot get over how magnificent the space was, from the historic architecture and spaces to the more modern sections. I could easily have brought a book to read outside to the Courtyard and spent an afternoon there soaking in the sun. If I have an opportunity to return, I would very much like to have lunch at the Tearoom. There is also a café near the main entrance and next to the set/stage they use for their podcast. The copies of the Declaration were the highlight for me. As a history nerd, I cannot fully describe what it meant to spend time in that room. It is an experience I highly recommend for anyone who is similarly interested in American history. I highly recommend a visit here. There is something for everyone.

I’ve had the honor of photographing a wedding at The Boston Public Library, and it really is a dream wedding venue to photograph at. The courtyard, the grand staircases, the way the light falls through those historic windows, it all feels straight out of a storybook. The team there is wonderful to work with too, making such an iconic space feel warm and personal.

Situated pretty much in a convenient location in the city. Easy to access and open to public till 8 pm or so. The ambience inside is simply beautiful and calm and quiet. One can sit here and work whole day. Just try to find a place where the onlookers ain’t so much. Lots of books to read on so many topics. And of course very helpful and kind staff.

BEAUTIFUL! The coolest architecture, light fixtures, study rooms — this is every book lover’s dream. They had an art exhibit, free public restrooms, and floors and rooms full of books and places to sit and read. It’s a must-see if you’re in the city.
Ashley F — Google review
Walking into the Boston Public Library for the first time felt like stepping into another world — one where knowledge, beauty, and history all collide in the most magical way. It’s not just a library; it’s an experience, a sanctuary, and a true cultural treasure. From the moment I entered the McKim Building, I was completely awestruck. The Renaissance-style architecture, grand staircases, arched ceilings, and murals by Edwin Abbey and John Singer Sargent — every detail felt like it belonged in a European palace. The Bates Reading Room, with its iconic green lamps and cathedral-like hush, took my breath away. Sitting there, surrounded by quiet thinkers and the weight of stories from centuries past, felt almost sacred. But what moved me most was how accessible and welcoming it all felt. The library isn’t just a monument to knowledge — it’s alive. Locals reading in the courtyard, students studying in the reading rooms, tourists marveling at the art and architecture… it’s a beautiful blend of old-world elegance and modern-day community. The courtyard, with its gentle fountain and open sky, is one of the most peaceful places I’ve ever sat with a book and a coffee. The Boston Public Library reminded me that public spaces can be powerful — places that inspire, connect, and elevate us. I left feeling both small in the best way and deeply grateful that such a place exists for everyone to enjoy.

The Boston Public library is filled with beautiful architecture, paintings and a ton of books! This is the biggest library that I’ve ever seen and has plenty of sections to explore with friends and family. If you have a visit, remember to look at the ceiling to appreciate the paintings.

The Charles River Esplanade is a picturesque green space that runs along the Charles River, offering a scenic walking and jogging path with stunning views of the city. It spans several miles from the Longfellow Bridge to the Boston University bridge, featuring over 1,500 trees, playgrounds, ponds, and gardens that add charm to the landscape.
I went on a cool sunny day for a walk. Beautiful views. If you like watching sailboats and kayaks and ducks on the water. Plenty of space to picnic and benches to sit and relax or read.

Charles River Esplanade in downtown Boston is easily one of my favorite spots in the city! This park stretches along the Charles River, offering stunning views of both Cambridge and Boston’s Back Bay skyline. The sunset views here are absolutely breathtaking—think sailboats gliding across the water, warm pastel skies, and vibrant reflections. It's the perfect place to catch golden hour in the city! You can stroll, jog, bike, or simply relax on one of the floating docks or benches. The Esplanade also features iconic landmarks like the Hatch Memorial Shell, lush lawns, and quiet gardens that make it a peaceful urban retreat. On warm days, you’ll spot locals reading by the river, families picnicking, and rowers gliding by. And views of MIT and Harvard across the river just add to the scenic charm—especially as the sun goes down. Whether you’re looking for a peaceful escape, a scenic workout route, or a spectacular sunset backdrop, the Esplanade delivers. Highly recommended!

Nice place to take a walk or run and escape the madness of the city. Quite a few homeless people though, would be nice if the city could solve their obvious problem they have, not sure how but that’s why I’m not in charge of a city. Overall if you are in town and looking a nice place to escape the city this is a pretty good spot.

I frequent this area often, I love it over here. I walk or ride my bike on the bike path that goes along the charles river. There are great spots to stop and take a rest or relax for the day. Maybe throw a hammock up in a tree. The ice cream truck goes through there so you can grab a snack or refreshment. There is a cool playground for the kids to have fun at. The also have all kinds of events at the shell sometimes they play movies there and everyone can sit on the grass and enjoy themselves. Its a great place to go. You can rent boats or kayaks from the boathouse over there which looks like a lot of fun. There are some beautiful sunsets and views for photos. I cant say enough good things about this place. Its a nice place to go.

Beautiful area to walk, run, bike, or relax. The view over the river is lovely. Go in April when the cherry blossoms are blooming and you won't be disappointed!

No shortage of good vibes at this iconic Boston riverwalk. On a clear sky evening in the warmer months, the docks and benches are filled with people from all over taking in the romantic scenery with sunset. Even in the winter with the cold river as a backdrop, the Esplanade remains a place to seek solitude in our bustling city. For a special experience, visit during the 4th of July celebrations.

Nature & Parks
Park
Boston Common, established in 1634, is a nearly 50-acre urban park with a rich history dating back to the American Revolution. It was once used for various purposes such as cattle grazing and militia musters. Over time, it has transformed into a beloved green space in downtown Boston. The park features ballparks, a playground, and several monuments including the Embrace, Soldiers and Sailors, and Robert Gould Shaw and the 54th Regiment monuments.
Boston Common is a beautiful, historic park right in the heart of the city. The open green spaces are perfect for a stroll, a picnic, or just relaxing and people-watching. There are plenty of paths to explore, benches to rest on, and seasonal events that make it lively throughout the year. It’s easy to get to, and the surrounding city views add to the charm. A great spot to take a break while exploring Boston.
Sam L — Google review
A place to immerse yourself in the nature to find your true self. Boston Commons is the place which let you have the thrills of Military 🪖🎖️ artillery showcases, thousands of flags for memorial Day celebration, Japanese cultural festival, Boston Pride Day celebration and more and the chirping of birds, sprints of squirrels and quacks of the 🦆 all at once. To me this place has been my go-to destination every weekend to channelize my emotions and get back with more energy. Kudos to everyone making this place magical.
Hritik — Google review
This is such a beautiful and special spot in the city! No matter the season, it’s always such a nice place to walk around, sit with a coffee, people watch, or just take in the scenery. It’s got so much history, but it also feels very alive and welcoming. I love how it’s right in the middle of everything, you can wander through and end up in so many different parts of Boston!
Mia — Google review
It's is a big park with a very popular arm crossing sculpture at one end of the park. There is also a welcome center where you can find a lot of merchandise. And also there are restaurants fast food around the park. In the park you can see many people sitting there with their children and a lot of people. They are many people listening to the guides introduction of the history of Boston. There are a lot of ducks and squirrels. The squirrels here are not afraid of people. If you have food they will just approach you. This is surprising to me because I see a lot of other places whereas borrows won't just run away when people walk by. And many pigeons are in the park. Maybe because of the weather of Boston you can see red leaves. They're beautiful and a little pond in the center of the park. There is no parking so you better walk there but the transportation is very convenient.
Nan L — Google review
This would be a top park if it wasn’t so full of literal garbage. I know the city clearly has a problem with trash pick up but this park is another example of an otherwise beautiful place to visit scarred by trash. It is a nice place to go since the entire city is full of trash in the streets so no matter where you go you’ll be dodging questionable things in the streets so at least walk through a nice park while your doing it.
Steven H — Google review
Absolutely beautiful park! Every time I've visited there is some kind of event going on. People relaxing, walking their dogs, people gathered at the visitor center ready to go on a Freedom Trail walking tour... A wonderful park surrounded by so much history and every day life alike. Check it out if you're ever in Boston. 🙂
Frances A — Google review
I have visited Boston Common multiple times, and I always love coming back. The peaceful atmosphere and beautiful greenery make it a perfect place to relax. The small pond with geese is delightful to watch, and there are plenty of walking trails throughout the park. It is also a great spot for a picnic, especially in the evenings. During the summer, Boston Common hosts Shakespeare in the Park, which is always amazing to watch. The park is conveniently located near AMC and Red and Green Line train stations, making it easily accessible by public transport. Additionally, it is the starting point of the Freedom Trail, which is perfect for exploring more of Boston.

🌳 Boston Common & Public Garden is truly the heart of the city and one of the most beautiful spots in Boston. It perfectly combines a sense of history with the calmness of nature. 🌸 The gardens are well-kept, with lovely walking paths, the iconic Swan Boats on the pond, and wide green lawns perfect for a picnic or just relaxing. 🏞 The atmosphere is cozy and vibrant at the same time — you can stroll for hours, enjoy the views, listen to street performers, and feel the city’s rhythm. For me, this is an absolute must-visit in Boston ✨ Come during the day or in the evening — the park feels magical in both.

The New England Aquarium is a must-visit waterfront attraction featuring a giant glass tank surrounded by a multilevel walkway. Visitors can enjoy stunning views of iconic landmarks such as Old North Church, Custom House Tower, and Independence Wharf. Additionally, the aquarium offers the Northern Lights yacht Boston experience with options to sit inside the cabin or on deck while enjoying drinks and snacks. The location is easily accessible by bus, subway, or train.
I thought it was great! Any aquarium that has the penguins exhibit first thing in the door wins big in my book! There were some other wonderful exhibits too!! We saw a sea lions performance, got to pet small rays in the shark exhibit, and watch a giant tank with a huge selection of fish as well as two turtles! I thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We also liked our lunch at the cafe, although the fish in the fish and chips could have been hotter, I thought it was a touch on the cold side. We did have quick service and the check out was an interesting process. The macaroni and cheese side was delicious, along with a fabulous view of the bay!

A great aquarium! Clean and organized. I enjoyed that the exhibits we're put around the center tank so when you're walking around the tank you go up or down while seeing the other tanks. Easy for kids to navigate and see into each tank/exhibit. Afterwards you can still go out and explore Boston within walking distance.

This place is amazing! Took an Uber from a cruise port as its less than 10 minutes away. Spent a good 2 hours walking through the 4 floors of exhibits ranging from seals, stingrays, clown fish, sharks, turtles, jelly fish and an anaconda. Extremely clean. We are from out of town but brought an annual membership. Well worth it even if you go just once. Trying to go again soon!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Magical Day at the New England Aquarium! I absolutely loved my visit to the Boston Aquarium! From the moment I walked in, I was surrounded by incredible marine life and beautifully designed exhibits that made me feel like I was stepping into an underwater world. The highlight of my day was definitely the sea turtle — such a magnificent and graceful creature. Watching it glide effortlessly through the water was truly mesmerizing and peaceful. Another favorite was the seahorse exhibit. I could have stood there for hours watching those delicate, whimsical creatures sway and twist around the coral. They’re so tiny, yet so full of personality! The entire aquarium is thoughtfully laid out, making it easy to explore while learning so much about ocean conservation and the importance of protecting marine habitats. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about the animals they care for. I also appreciated how clean and well-maintained everything was, from the tanks to the viewing areas. Whether you’re visiting Boston for the first time or you’re a local looking for something special, the New England Aquarium is a must-see destination. I can’t wait to go back again soon!
Kory B — Google review
So I will preface this review by saying I have been to over a hundred zoos and awuariums over the last 6 years. This aquarium is pretty decent. A good variety of different fish, and overall they do have as good a layout as they can with the space they have. Pros: Variety Bright colored exhibits Good signage about animals Cons: Price for size Very tight space inside Bad signage on where to go next Again, I liked this aquarium, but for $40+ bucks I would like to have not been shoulder to shoulder with everyone else there. I also feel like the "Sharks" exhibit is a joke, and some of the exhibits talk big, but then fail to deliver.
David P — Google review
My fiance and I LOVED the New England Aquarium!! No kids yet, but cannot wait to bring the little one here soon! Such an amazing layout and awesome exhibits. The stingrays are so cute and friendly, the penguins, seals, and sea lions were sooooo much fun to sit and watch. It was a little crowded but not too bad for a saturday! We will definitely be back!!
Kat ( — Google review
Oh my god - can’t rave enough. Having never seen the Penguins, this place lived upto my expectations. It was the most beautiful day in boston with penguin, seals, fishes, and other unique underwater life exhibit witnessing. I totally loved it and would recommend it to anyone and everyone. So proud that they keep these animals and are equally aware and preach animal welfare in kind too :)
Anshul G — Google review
Overall a good a experience. Definitely on the smaller end of aquariums I've been too. Kid friendly. Personally I do believe they should not have anything bigger than fish at this aquarium because it's so small, however there are seals and penguins at this location which is slightly disheartening because of how small their enclosures are at this facility.

The Museum of Science, located in Boston's West End, is a renowned institution featuring interactive exhibits, an IMAX/3-D film theater, and a planetarium. With over 700 exhibits and home to an accredited zoo with over 100 animals, the museum offers educational experiences for children from third grade and up.
The Tesla coils light show was really fun and informative and they have showings throughout the day. It "sparked" a new interest in science for me. Warning: turn your volume down before you watch the Tesla coil videos I attached. 😂 Amazing views of the Charles River. I liked looking at the AI dog. A good portion of the museum is very kid-focused but the paintings and animal/natural history sculptures are fun for all ages. I also liked some information about blood pressure as well as how many calories I need to walk a mile. It was a fun visit!

Fabulous time for families! Purchase tickets in advance, planetarium is a must! This is a classic spot that makes for a quintessential childhood summer day, the duck boats are a fun addition. The Boston Museum of Science is an incredible experience—everything is so cool, inspiring, and thought-provoking. It really pushes you to want to learn more, no matter your age. There’s so much to see and do that my girlfriend and I had to speed-run it since we arrived around 2 PM and they closed at 5. Even then, it was well worth it. The museum was undergoing some renovations during our visit, but it didn’t take away from how amazing the exhibits were. I’d absolutely come back to explore more. Only minor thing to keep in mind: there are a lot of kids running around (as expected in a science museum), so depending on the time and day, it can be a bit chaotic. It’d be awesome if they stayed open later for a more adult-oriented experience, but that’s just a wish—not a complaint. Overall, it’s an amazing place and I’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend it.

I hadn't been to the museum in 40 years. It was so great living childhood memories of my favorite place as a child. The lightning show still is my favorite thing there. The new exhibits were great to see. I am definitely going back once the renovation is completed.

Great experience for a family with a toddler. Lots of fun things to look at and manipulate. The workers at the live demonstration and showing off skulls in the river area were great with a little kid - but there's a ton of stuff at the adult level too. Enjoyed it twice in the last year with more we haven't even seen! I would say that the cafeteria is decently priced compared to other local museums/attractions. Delicious falafel burger!

Scenic Walking Areas
Commonwealth Avenue Mall, also known as Comm Ave Mall, is a historic tree-filled park located in the center of Back Bay's main boulevard. Designed to resemble grand Parisian boulevards, this avenue offers a picturesque stroll through trees, grassy areas, and various statues representing figures like war heroes and famous American women. It serves as a peaceful escape from the nearby shopping district of Newbury Street.
A really nice park that is a really pleasant walk when exploring Boston. There are a series of impressive statues along the length of the mall and it is well worth stopping at these and appreciating them. It is also a very refreshing area to walk outside.
Matt H — Google review
I discovered this Mall by accident when I observed the Mall covered by snow 🌨️ with all of the Christmas lights. It was very scenic! I visited Boston again and while I drove past I noticed all of the statues with the Christmas lights still up. I had a chance to walk the Mall from one end to the other. With the style of the buildings along Commonwealth Avenue, the Mall adds to the neighborhood. Reading the websites of the government of Boston and The Friends of the Public Gardens, the 32 acre Mall was developed between 1858 to the 1870s. Authur Gilman was the designer and he drew his influences from Parisian boulevards and the green squares 🟩 of London. Gravel was brought from Needham by train 🚂🚃 with arrivals reaching every 45 minutes. Two new 🆕 house 🏠 lots were being developed every day. Gilman used a grid pattern for the design of the streets. The Mall links 🔗 the Public Gardens to the Back Bay Fends. The Mall is referred to as the central axis of the Back Bay and Winston Churchill said of the Mall "the grandest boulevard in North America" according to the Friends of the Public Gardens website. The statues were not part of the original design or plans. I am interested in history and they inspired me to research each person who has a statue modeled after them. The types of shady 🌲 trees that are along the Mall and listed on the Boston government website are sweetgum, green ash, maple 🍁, linden, zelkova, Japanese pagoda and elm. The Mall was an enjoyable walk even in the winter 🥶. People were walking their dogs, jogging 👟, sightseeing and taking photos. I want to visit again in the other seasons.

Nestled in between the Northbound and Southbound lanes of Comm Ave in Back Bay, the Comm Ave mall provides a wonderful park experience. Walk through the park and you get to observe some famous statues and art installations. Lots of benches to sit down for a while. You’ll see a lot of people walking their dogs and kids running about. Spring, summer and fall are the best seasons for a stroll here.

It’s like I fell through a portal and landed in the library of my dreams!!!! A secret garden of literary delights! From the red leather studded door to the artwork, to the rare editions, to the statutes, to the reading book nooks, this place is a nirvana for lovers of words!!!! My favorite place in Boston, hands down! And their slogan “CALLING ALL CURIOS” 🖤🤍📖

Possibly one of the most overlooked by tourists places in Boston. And I couldn't be happier about it- calm, quite, and full of history. There is something almost spiritual about opening the book of the 1800s and taking in the scent of yellowish and fragile pages. If you love books, if you love peace - a couple of hours spent here will be memorable. P.s. Do pay for access to all five floors!

Really magical place with an impeccable view. I love that they do not shy away from the entirety of history, including the way wealth, even the wealth that helped build this impressive collection, was often deep in extortion such as the slave trade (the Forbes building is a good example that crime does pay). BUT they are a member of the Card-to-culture program, and anyone can tour all levels on an art and architecture tour, which is a great opportunity for people of all income levels (a membership is nearly $500, so pretty out-of-reach for me and my students at Bunker hill, BUT the card-to-culture and events are things they could enjoy). Thank you for the work you do to preserve and advance knowledge and learning!!!

I've been a member for almost 2 years now. Beautiful place and great selection of books for people who enjoy reading in a nice, quiet place. I also recommend the Discussion Groups. Wow, what a hidden gem! I visit family in Boston all the time but never knew about this place even though I know I've walked by it. The whole place is beautiful and pristine. It was raining on the weekday I visited, but it was so clean and bright inside. And not at all crowded. A kind security officer greeted me and pointed me towards the desk for a ticket. I spoke to a young man who was very friendly and informative. I opted to pay $8 (others have said it cost $10 or $11 for an adult, so maybe it's cheaper on a weekday) for just first floor access instead of something like $40 for the entire place. There are two large rooms up front with some books and artwork. It took about 15-20 minutes to look through everything. There are huge glass windows that overlook a cemetery, and it was just really quaint. Then I realized there was a whole other exhibit room in the back. I believe it's a rotating exhibit. In August 2023 it was a photo exhibit about then and now Boston. It was fantastic. I'll also note that there are plenty of free lockers because you can't bring large book bags. This was wonderful because I was dragging around my luggage. And the bathroom is exquisite. Definitely worth the $8.

Piers Park is a picturesque waterfront park situated in East Boston, offering breathtaking views of the Boston skyline across the harbor. The park features beautifully landscaped gardens, pastel-colored pavilions, and lush green grass where visitors can relax and take in the unrivaled scenery. It's a popular spot for both locals and tourists to admire the ever-changing beauty of Boston's infamous weather.
Located in East Boston water front, impressive design with mix of tons of sunny areas and shaded ones. The shaded areas also are mix of natural shades of lots of wonderful trees and man made shaded areas. I enjoyed walking through clean well paved walkways. The whole neighborhood together with the park area are flat and even with minimal elevations which is more appropriate for older people to walk or run comfortably. Two parking lots are added advantage to this wonderful facility. Even more, admission is free of charge. One more important advantage is no dogs allowed that helps younger babies and kids play freely in the fields and help better maintain clean both the walkways and the greens.

Great park to stop by to get views of the Boston skyline, the harbor, and the sunset. It does get busy around sunset, as when i went, both lots were full, so you may have to utilize street parking.

It's very nice, spacious park at East Boston, harbourside view is so nice. Plenty of greenery with green carpetted grass....I enjoyed a lot.

This is undoubtedly the best spot to capture a breathtaking sunset photograph. From here, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the entire Boston skyline. The area is clean and well-maintained, and the occasional patrols by the police add to the sense of safety.

Peaceful views, crisp air, and a clear look at the Boston skyline from across the harbor. You can feel the calm as the sailboats drift by — one of those spots that reminds you how simple beauty can be. Piers Park really is one of Boston’s hidden gems. Clean, quiet, and full of thoughtful detail — from the brick walkways to the history boards that tell the story of the harbor’s past. 🎥 Captured a few clips to remember the view — part of my Quiet Wyns collection. #QuietWyns #CambridgeStamped #HiddenGem #BostonViews #WynterViewStyle

Italian restaurant
Restaurant
Mamma Maria is an upscale Italian restaurant located in a historic townhouse in Boston's North End. Despite its name, the restaurant offers refined Italian cuisine with a focus on local ingredients. The elegant dining room overlooks North Square and provides a romantic setting for enjoying classic dishes such as beef carpaccio, pappardelle pasta with rabbit ragu, terrine of suckling pig, veal osso buco, and various seafood options sourced from local waters.
The ambiance was so warm, charming and felt like you were in one of the side streets in Italy. We sat upstairs. The food was authentic, fresh, and had lots of yummy flavors. My husband had the raviolis which he said were the ‘real deal’. Service amazing - super attentive, helped in food recommendations and wine selection. We will definitely be back when we’re in the Boston area! Highly recommended!

Mamma Maria was a great experience. The ambiance is elegant and welcoming, it really feels like dining in a beautiful Italian home in Boston. We had a table outside and the perfect weather made it even better. The food was excellent. We started with calamari and octopus, both fresh and flavorful. For the main courses we had scallops and meat pasta. Everything was cooked perfectly and full of taste. The service stood out. Nico at the front was classy and very professional. Eric the manager was kind and accommodating. The kitchen did make a small mistake with one allergy request, but they apologized right away and took it off the bill which I really appreciated. This is a great spot for fantastic Italian food that I would gladly recommend for anyone who enjoys authentic food at very fair prices.

Our dinner at Mama Maria's was, without a doubt, one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. From the moment we interacted with the staff to our last bite, every detail was perfection. Our evening started with a transportation mishap, causing us to arrive a full 30 minutes late for our reservation. We called ahead, and the staff couldn't have been more gracious or accommodating. They welcomed us warmly, took our coats, and showed us to our table without a hint of frustration. Soon after, the manager approached us with a thoughtful offer: a better table by the window, with the simple request that we finish by a certain time. We gladly accepted. The setting was beautiful, with a window-side view, gorgeous old-world wallpaper, and an ambiance that felt both elegant and intimate. We started with cocktails—a crisp Sicilian Mule and perfectly made dirty martinis. They arrived with the best bread service I've ever encountered, featuring delicious olives and a flavorful pesto spread that set the stage for the meal to come. For our starter, we chose the short rib bison gnocchi. The presentation was stunning, with the gnocchi seasonally crafted into adorable pumpkin shapes. The flavor, however, surpassed even the stellar presentation. It was simply superb. The entrees continued to impress. We ordered the lobster agnolotti and the pasta con sugo. The lobster agnolotti was a delightful surprise—light and delicate, served in a deeply flavored onion broth rather than a typical heavy cream sauce. It was a truly remarkable dish. The pasta con sugo was the complete opposite but equally wonderful; it felt like a grandmother's hug in a bowl—comforting, rich, and lovely. Throughout the evening, the service was impeccable. The staff was attentive, professional, and genuinely kind. This meal is one I will remember for a long time. If anyone ever asks me about my favorite dinner ever, my answer will be Mama Maria's in the North End. It was an unforgettable experience.
Cara H — Google review
We walked by and asked for a table outside, in a scenic view of Italian surroundings, and stayed to enjoy tasty entries, main dish and special treats. Loved the fresh taste of the Cinghiale Gnocchi and Burrata al Tartuffo as shared starters. The Lobster Agnolotti Pasta with triple colours was delicious, and a large portion. Ending the evening with strawberry tiramisu, a week’s special in May, made it a perfect dinner with a friend. Staff were super-friendly and attentive, especially when it started raining, immediately offering another table under an umbrella.
Michael F — Google review
An impeccable rainy day early dinner. We didn’t have a reservation but the host was able to give us a table for two when they opened at 5. The ambiance was cozy and relaxing, service warm and attractive, and the food just wows you with the first bite. We look forward to coming back here to try other dishes.

Visited the vibrant and popular North End in Boston. I chose this restaurant based off reviews and overall was very pleased with the restaurant. Very good food and atmosphere and friendly staff. The food was exceptional but maybe I expect another step at this price range. Also be a little clearer on your dress code. Im a casual guy so I ate dinner with messy hair as well as several other customers.

We were very lucky today when we arrived here at the time they are opening and we sit in the bar. The bartenders Carlos and Iran were amazing. They know the menu very well and gave us good recommendations. We started with the Baked Oysters and Carpaccio as appetizers. Wagyu steak and Rabbit pasta are delicious too. We give 5 stars to this place.

The James P. Kelleher Rose Garden, located near Fenway Park as part of the Emerald Necklace, is a small but charming garden filled with over 200 varieties of roses. The garden features beautiful rose arches that come to life in the spring and a lovely fountain. Visitors can enjoy the romantic vibe during summer and capture perfect photos among the perfectly manicured lawns and sculptures.
Such a hidden gem in the city! The James P. Kelleher Rose Garden is a small but beautiful spot tucked away near the Fenway area. Even though it’s not very big, it’s filled with hundreds of different kinds of roses—all in so many colors and varieties. The smell is amazing when they’re in full bloom, and it’s the perfect peaceful place for a short walk, quiet break, or just to enjoy some nature in the city. Great for taking photos too. If you’re in Boston during rose season, definitely worth a visit!

Amazing place! It truly felt surreal! I love animals but I agree that they shouldn't be allowed here though. Also, the kinds of roses here... I thought some of those only exict on the TV, I couldn't believe my senses. The scent, the atmosphere... you just can't describe it with words.

The Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum is a floating historical museum that offers an immersive experience of the events leading up to the Boston Tea Party. Visitors can witness live reenactments by actors in period costumes, including the dumping of tea chests into Boston Harbor from a replica 18th-century ship. The museum also features multimedia exhibits, holographs, animated portraits, and a short film about the Battles of Lexington and Concord.
Absolutely loved this place! The Boston Tea Party Museum is way more interactive than I expected in the best way. The actors were super engaging and really brought the history to life without it feeling cheesy. Throwing the “tea” into the harbor was a surprisingly satisfying touch 😂. The whole experience was well-paced, informative, and fun for all ages. The replica ships were awesome to walk through, and the multimedia parts added some cool depth to the story. Great mix of entertainment and education. Whether you’re a tourist or local, it’s 100% worth checking out.
Uchizi P — Google review
Awesome and educating experience, we bought our tickets in advance. We had no problem being greeted by our fair old time characters at check in and were ushered into a great reenactment. Without giving too much away, you will enjoy yourself! Even those who aren’t big into history. You will get to learn about the Boston tea harbor and so much more, you’ll learn about the people involved and why it’s important to remember history. Awesome people who work here who really embrace the characters and explain anything you have a question to. You do also get to throw tea into the harbor! They have a really cute gift shop with tons of souvenirs and they have a variety of little snacks and drinks. We recommend the cookies!
Amber — Google review
Celebrate one of the milestones of the American Revolution with a visit to the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum. Boston is drenched in colonial tourism, and this attraction was tons of fun. The costumes are all very well made. The staff is so friendly and courteous. The actors embody their characters and put on a great immersive show. You get to see a reenactment of the colonial conspirators and if you’re lucky and brave enough, you’ll get a line or two to speak during the proceedings. Explore the belly of the ships that brought tea to Boston and toss a ceremonial crate of tea over the edge for a great photo op. This is one of those places where you get to learn by accident. You’ll be so immersed and enthralled by what is going on around you that you’ll be pleasantly surprised that you were learning at the same time. There are a few replicas from the early years of the U.S.A. as well as portraits, paintings, and entire rooms that bring you back 250 years. Kids and adults will thoroughly enjoy their time at the ships and museum. Parking isn’t terrible, but definitely plan some time to find a good spot or parking garage. The streets and traffic flow around the museum take some patience. The museum gets a big recommendation as a must-visit.
Mappening R — Google review
It was special to know the story through acting and also including the visitors into the characters. It was impressing to walk step by step from the beginning of the incident, to the ship and pour out the tea, and saw the exhibits and documentary to feel emotionally. It was worthwhile to not only experience the history, but also absorb how the past has brought to the present. Sending pics to staffs who act professionally! Thank you very much!
Rita L — Google review
A Phenomenal Trip Back in Time: History Made Real! If you are looking for an immersive historical experience in Boston, visiting the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum is an absolute must-do, especially with family. What truly elevates this attraction above a typical museum visit is the fantastically talented cast of historical interpreters. From the moment we stepped aboard, we were completely transported back to 1773. The performers didn't just read lines; they embodied the colonists, infusing the drama leading up to the act of rebellion with passion, energy, and wit. The experience felt authentic, lively, and truly immersive. They seamlessly guided us through the process—from the initial town meeting to finally tossing the tea overboard—making us feel like active participants in a pivotal moment of history.
Santosh M — Google review
What an amazing experience, from start to finish! Engaging, fun and a lot of learning! The actors/ characters really made the entire experience fun! Great job! Great for all ages, even my teen who doesn’t care for history enjoyed it. We will do it again when we return to Boston! Highly recommend!
Sam — Google review
This was a fantastic experience! They do a little reinacring before you tour the ship which was so much fun! The staff is great, friendly, and do a wonderful job to make it feel like you've stepped back in time. The whole experience took about 2 hours, and was educational and fun. A must see!
Christi B — Google review
It was excellent! It wasn’t just a simple tour of the Boston Tea Party — we were able to directly experience it. The detailed reenactment of the events and the explanations of the major historical moments that followed were very helpful. After the tour, we can enjoy a cup of tea, and I highly recommend doing so. While drinking tea, we also got to try some light board games that people enjoyed back in those days. It was a really enjoyable and immersive experience.

I was in Boston for my sister's graduation so we decided to book a lunch here. It was up to expectations and the food was amazing. I had ordered a set lunch that came with soup, I chose stuffed lobster as the entree and creme brulee as the dessert. Everything was delicious. The mussels were an appetizer and they were fresh and didn't have any fishy taste. The kitchen also added a congratulations to one of the desserts which was a nice touch. Highly recommend!

This is what I always hear and what I always tell others: you're paying for the view. Aside from the price, the food here is decent. I came here for dinner a few years ago and don't even remember what I had, which means it wasn't impressive...like at all. But I came here for lunch on a Saturday and the difference was extremely noticeable. I ordered the Cobb salad which was huge. I split it with my date and even then we couldn't finish it. We also ordered the lobster risotto which had nice chunks of lobster in it, as well as a lobster tail. The risotto had an incredible creamy flavor and was seasoned to perfection. We also ordered sweet chili calamari which was just regular calamari with a nice Thai twist to it. Not sure I would come here with my friends, but I would bring out-of-towners here for the experience.

3.5 stars for the food, 4.5 stars for the view/ambience. Had lunch here - ordered the salmon open-faced baguette sandwich with spinach - quite good. My friends order burgers which were average. Complimentary bread and service is ok. View is spectacular - would come back again for it.

You pay for the view! Service was acceptable. Hostess was frigid and kind of rude. Food was very nice, but nothing amazing. Our waiter was great. You probably will spend between $75-$100 per person here, plus $14 for validated parking. There is a live band (we went on a Saturday evening) that was great - they played Sinatra and similar. Lighting is fairly low and the noise level was moderate. Not a place for kids under the age of 5 :)
Nital P — Google review
You go there for the views. Food is decent. I didn't sit down for a meal - instead went to the lounge for drinks and finger food. The service was great except for the person at the entrance - Alex. That guy was clueless and had no idea on how to greet customers or how to treat them. Drinks - I had the Irish Old Fashioned and I enjoyed it.

The Sunday brunch was a bit underwhelming with very limited selection for each course, contrary to our very positive experience from last time. The view is always the best here though, and offers elevated atmosphere for any guests you bring here (even on a cloudy day like today with little visibility!).

Great service and good ambiance. Lamp chop is very tender and well seasoned with the red wine sauce. Side dishes are good too. We ordered the lobster bisque, also very delicious. The only bad thing is bad ventilation in women’s restroom. Quite uncomfortable.

So sad that this icon of Boston is closing down in a few months. I have been here before for a drink, as their cocktail menu is unique to just them. The Frog Pond at the Boston Common is a place where you can enjoy all four seasons of the year. In summer, you can enjoy a wading pool with slides and playground. In winter, they have an outdoor ice skating rink with a snack bar and carousel. Whether it's in the morning or evening, this pond is always a joy to visit!

A great place to rest your feet 🦶 🦶 by either taking off 📴 your shoes 👟 and soak or just walk around in the warm water 💦. Toddlers can play ▶️ in the sprinklers or roll around in the water. There was an employee scooping out leaves with a pool net. I found a small stone 🪨 and a tiny stick that I mistook for a cigarette 🚬 butt. I threw both of them away and I was rewarded with finding an abandoned tiny toy Babe 🐖 piglet. If the owner is looking for it, I will send it to you. There is a carousel 🎠 and the famous frog statues are at opposite ends of the pond, not named Amy. The only reason I found for the name was that during the Revolutionary War, men would try to find 🐸 frogs to eat. I don't think 🤔 Kermit would show up saying "Hi-Ho, Kermit the Frog here from Sesame Street News!" The Frog Pond is a great 👍 addition to Boston Common. I relaxed while I walked in the water along the edge.

Frog Pond Ice Skating was absolutely magical during Christmas time! The decorations, lights, and holiday music made it feel straight out of a winter movie. Definitely recommend visiting if you’re in Boston around Christmas!

Went here for splash pad and merry go round. Splash pad was closed on June 19 (not opening for the season until June 24th). That was an incredible disappointment and surprise. Hours on the google map location are not attraction specific or seasonal. Check their web site before going. Merry go round is not worth it. No music, old. Probably safe but I personally wouldn't chance it again. Certainly not woth the price. Would have been a 4 if the google location was updated and accurate. Not to mention, there are two entries. One for the "pond" itself and another before the larger attraction.

Adorable little ice skating rink to enjoy during the winter in Boston! Good crowd. There was a very talented and friendly guy giving people tips on their skating throughout the day. Water was oily, gross, icky, and had dead fish on it, and seeing the ducks drink that crap made me sad. Other than that very pretty, I climbed up a tree, and I took pics, I would 100% recommend visiting at least once it's beautiful especially in the middle of the city. But just seeing contaminated water makes me ughhhh....

A lovely oasis of the natural world; today I saw nesting geese, ducks, turtles of various sizes, and a very friendly and loud Oriole. The willows are yellow-green and there are red buds on many trees. The cherry tree at the entrance to the pond walk has begun to blossom pink, and there are daffodils in clusters everywhere. Every time I come back nature has progressed a little more, everything is changing even as the individual turtles and birds and squirrels begin to feel more like friends.

This is "my happy place" I go to in my mind for sanctuary and for real. It's a little-known gem even to the locals, hidden off a couple main streets and behind some big apartment buildings . It offers peace, abundant greenery, birds, turtles and unexpected glimpses of nature in the city. It is beautiful year-round, in all seasons. Once you find it, you want to go back and it's easy to get to by foot or T, with parking too.
Maiyim B — Google review
A nice tranquil park that seems to take you out of the hustle and bustle of the city and into a land far away. The sound of chipmunks, rabbits, and squirrels playing nearby is relaxing and the greenery beautiful.
Daniel H — Google review
Great green oasis hidden in a residential urban neighborhood. There's a nearby playground with a baseball field and a large open field. The sanctuary itself is relatively small. But I was easily able to spot birds (a woodpecker got plenty of photos) and turtles sunbathing on the pond.

Love this place so much, we went once on each day we were in Boston! I loved the tomato based seafood chowder at Boston and Maine Fish Company, next to Chowda. $10 for a small bowl, and buy the garlic bread for $2.50 extra, has a nice tangy crust. The Irish beer pub across the hall is cool to hangout and people-watch. Beers are $9 each. Lots of cool places to eat but watch out for the touristy trap ones.

A great place to go for lunch as a tourist in Boston! So much choice of food. Enjoyed some American Mac and Cheese! The small portion is ginormous . So delicious! Will definitely return when next in Boston. Public toilets available here too!

It's very close to downtown Boston. There are many vendors selling foods, snacks, souvenirs and also many shops with a good collection of apparel. I like the place because it's very walkable and there are artists and also street performances like you can enjoy. You can walk in the building of the market. There are three separate buildings. Each of them features different set of merchandise goods. There are children's play area inside and outside the building. Pets are welcomed.

This was on all of the Google searches for being a must see in Boston. There were so many food vendors and the building was historic and beautiful. There were areas to eat although it was pretty crowded. It was fun to look at all the different types of food available.

Great place to eat if in Boston. Many different options for food in an historic location. Only downside is that it can get VERY crowded during peak eating times and seating is limited to the center court or maybe outside. Lines for ordering can get confusing. Food we had was delicious. If coming to Boston, you have to try clam chowder at least once. Bathrooms are limited and small, and look like they haven’t been updated in at least 50 years, if not 100. That considered, they were still fairly clean. Parking is almost non-existent; I’d recommend an Uber/Lift to get there. Save yourself the headache of finding a spot. Parking garages may be in the area but cost $20+. I would go again if in the area.

Very eccentric and diverse group of shops and restaurants. There’s literally something for everyone and there are so many nooks and crannies you could spend a full day exploring them all. It’s a touristy area, so expect lots of people. Also, the walkways are brick and uneven, so watch where you’re stepping!

Technology museum
The MIT Museum in Boston, Massachusetts is a haven for science and technology enthusiasts. The museum showcases a wide array of exhibits including kinetic sculptures, robots, holograms, and interactive installations that aim to bridge the gap between theory and practice. Recently relocated to a new purpose-built space at the heart of MIT's Kendall Square campus, the museum boasts 56,000 square feet of engaging galleries spread across three floors.
I had a fantastic visit to the MIT Museum! It’s such a cool place, blending science, technology, and art in a way that’s both mind-blowing and accessible. The interactive exhibits were a lot of fun, like the AI section where you can spot real versus fake videos or even compose a poem with a computer. The museum’s new space in Kendall Square has a modern, open layout that makes exploring really enjoyable. I also appreciated the historical artifacts, like the Apollo Guidance Computer, which show off MIT’s groundbreaking contributions. I do wish they’d had a free pass for us Harvard fellows too, but it was still well worth the visit! It’s an inspiring spot for anyone curious about innovation, and I’d definitely recommend checking it out!
George C — Google review
Great museum with an accurate selection of pieces showing to the public MIT’s contribution. The collection shows different periods advancements from early XX century technologies to contemporary robots allowing visitors to interact.

An amazing experience! The MIT Museum offers a perfect mix of science, technology, and creativity. I loved the interactive exhibits and the fascinating stories behind the innovations. Great for anyone curious about how ideas shape our world. Definitely worth visiting.
Mani G — Google review
Amazing science and technology museum! Will definitely inspire you to do high quality research in your area. You can easily spend 2-3 h here. Lot of good information to read if you're interested. Engineering students and graduate students might really enjoy the exhibits. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.
Shaik A — Google review
The MIT Museum felt like a museum made up of the work of graduate students and recent MIT graduates, including work relating to the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, and Biology. This was alongside interactive installations and some rare, vintage items. There were also more artistic installations, so overall it was quite varied in its offerings. I would say it did not blow me away completely, though I did enjoy several parts of it. It was also a bit small to my liking, just two floors and one of the floors (the 3rd) was around half. Worth a visit nonetheless and it gets you in the MIT engineering and hacking culture but also the wonder of biological discovery and CRISPR.
Raúl F — Google review
Is it terrible of me to say that I miss some of the older exhibits and enjoyed the museum more prior to the renovation? I know that sounds awful! But the small nature of the other museum and some of the exhibits, such as the kinetic machines, were really attractive and fun, and this one seems as if it is somehow more sterile. It also seemed as if the older museum really catered more for inquisitive adults, and this museum had children running all over the place! There are so many museums and exhibits in the city that really cater to children, that it would be wonderful to have a museum that is more suitable for adults. I have children; they are older now, and I’m not anti-children, but the older museum felt more adult – focused. This one also felt like it was singing the praises of MIT more, which is great, that’s why we’re there, but I would love to know what the researchers are up to, without having an interactive exhibit that asked me what I like most about MIT. I really don’t know what I like most about MIT, because I don’t attend MIT. And the exhibit asked me for adjectives to describe MIT. I think that feels more like an assignment for the students and professors, and perhaps that’s the point of this new museum? Perhaps it’s supposed to be a hub for MIT students and professors and also…visitors. Regardless, bring back more exhibits that are interactive/movement based. Again, I’m returning to the kinetic exhibit, but have things that we can really watch and engage in, rather than looking at an object and having the explanation next to it on the wall. Yes, there were a few things to engage in, especially with the AI section, but we can write a collaborative poem with AI at home. I’m wondering how they could make things more interactive and also capture the attention of the adults. I was there with my 22-year-old son, who is a stem guy and is majoring in stem in college, and he just didn’t seem to feel it had a lot to offer either. Also, the last time I was there, I went by the gift shop and bought some periodic table of the elements bags and mugs etc. Now my daughter is a chemist at the Mayo Clinic, I was so excited to run in the gift shop and grab a bunch of chemistry items, and the gift shop instead had lots of kids toys in it. It was fairly disappointing. I would love it to be more Stem related and less about the dehydrated ice cream that you can get when you visit the Smithsonian Museums in DC. Not really even MIT related. Just stuff you’d find in any children’s tech museum gift shop. I did manage to find a chemistry-related glass and a game of chemistry flux. Also, I would’ve loved to have seen some more of their robotics. They have some on display at the museum of science, why could we not watch some of them on display here? Overall, an underwhelming experience. Would hope for more adult and interactive and challenging exhibits in the future, and let’s tilt the gift shop to be things that would be less children- focused as well. This isn’t really a children’s museum, is it? Or perhaps I’m missing the point, and it is supposed to be now.
Lockie H — Google review
If you are a MIT student I highly recommend that you visit the Museum at some point. It is highly unqiue and provides a gateway into the MIT way (P.S its free for students!). If you are visiting the area the MIT Museum offers great exhibits that are both timeless and unique to the current state of the world/technology. Great for kids and families!
Lim Y — Google review
A waste of time and money for me. So sorry. I thought I'd see real explanations of AI, robotics, etc but instead of that I saw walls of text and unmoving exhibits like old rulers, robotic hand, and circuits. Yes, they could be there but without cutting edge science and real explanations (not looped videos ) it could be so much better. Just not that visual or breakthrough, I guess . And btw, there is a war with 'dangerous white males' throughout texts in the museum. Disappointed.

Nice outing on a sunny day. I'm not from Boston, so it gave my family and I something to do. I liked learning about the history of the fort and seeing how well maintained the grounds are. There is a playground and scenic view of the bay. The only downside: The water doesn't look good for swimming- but if that's not your intention, it's a great place to visit for a few hours.

Saw a guy wearing a Minutemen uniform saying a settlement needs our help. Jokes aside, I went there on a relatively hot summer day for a walk, and the cool air coming from the ocean is refreshing. The walk around the castle and seeing the planes landing and taking off from a distance is engaging.

Castle island has always been a great place to go to since my boys were little. Just to walk around, watch the planes coming in n going out of Boston Logan airport, people watch, walk along the water & fishing pier, watch the boats n ferries go by, exercise, picnic or even explore Bostons history. Lunch, snack or have dinner at the famous “Sullys” Sullivans restaurant is a Staple here in Boston n known for its excellent clam chowder, lobster rolls, clam strips & clam belly meals as well as a decent size menu for everyone. It is a walk up window than you can eat your meal on one of the picnic tables or along the walkway where there is plenty of grass to enjoy a picnic. The young adults that work there are very polite n helpful. Make sure you grab yourself an old fashioned milkshake or Raspberry Line Ricky to go along with your meal n an ice cream cone to top it off. Beware… the only waitstaff they have to clear the tables is…. The seagulls🤣 You can also order online rather than standing in line. Catering is available as well for your private functions. It is dog friendly as well.

A hidden gem to relax and explore the island. Takes about two hours to fully explore the island. I love the feeling of walking into the abyss at some sections of the fort. I went to George's Island on a field trip 15 years ago and returned for the first time since. The ferry ride from Hingham was fun and scenic! The island itself is fun to explore. The fort has so many hidden crevices. The views of Boston and other islands are also pretty. The visitor center is also very much worth checking out!

Nice way to spend a few hours. The visitor center is great. There is a short video to watch and items for the military history of the island. There are bathroom facilities. The park rangers have programming. We went on the ranger led history tour and I would recommend doing that if you're at all interested. There is a Junior ranger program and other tours throughout the day. Check the Georges Island information for the food availability on the island, it's not every day. The island is carry on AND OFF for your trash... people still litter. If you bring picnic items or drinks, just bring a bag for your trash. It helps with the respect of the park, the island, the visitors and people who work there.

A walk through history is an apt description of the tour of Fort Warren on Georges Island. The Dept of Conservation and Recreation has done an admirable job making the Fort a viable site for tourism. The guided tours given by knowledgeable docents make the experience come to life with them describing the history in first person as though they lived it first-hand. Many parts of the Fort are open for exploration, yet in great disrepair. It would been nice to see a restored barracks of officers or political prisoners to truly see it "first-hand". On site restrooms and a snack bar were welcomed additions. The ferry ride to and from the island as well as the tour are all included in $19.95; a quick tour and round trip ferry ride we're completed in 3 hours. If I had more time I would have explored more.

Spectacle Island is a harbor island in Boston with seasonal ferry service, sandy beaches, a marina, and a visitor center. Students can engage in team-building activities, use Visual Thinking Strategies to discuss images, hike to the summit of the island's south drumlin, and explore its modern history through historical images and observation skills.
Spectacle Island undoubtedly lives up to its name. The island 🏝️ is infamous for been built on the debris and trash of unaccounted factories running during the colonization. This island is perfect for relieving the history of America (which you would get to know once you have a visit to the island). This place is so good for hiking that you can easily make it one of the adventurous hiking trails to go to. Moreover the people managing this natural upsurge deserves an appreciation, the guide was too generous and thoughtful. It is indeed a place to sit back and relax amidst the tides. Points to ponder: 1. Be mindful of the ferries timings. 2. Make sure to bring snacks and water bottles and carry your own trash.

A good 👍 place for a relaxing walk, views of the Boston waterfront, Logan Airport, several bays and islands. You can walk to the top 🔝 of two summits. The North ⬆️ Drumlin Summit is the highest point of any of the islands surrounding Boston. The 🏝️ Island's history to me was fascinating! The indigenous people visited the island and used it in trading. Settlers gathered lumber 🪵🪚 from the island. As the area that would become Boston was increasingly settled, the Island was used for commerce at first 🥇. Later, the Island was used for the reprocessing of horse 🐴 carcasses. Then the Island was used for a trash 🗑️ dump ,disposal and reprocessing. A few families lived here and a lighthouse was established. The Island received its name 📛 from the the two drumlins and the space between them resembling a pair of spectacles. The landfill that was removed from the Big Dig in Boston was sent here and buried the trash on the Island. The height of the drumlins was raised and helped create the scenic views of today. You can watch the boat ⛵ traffic 🚦, see 🙈 airplanes land and take off at Logan, see different species of birds, walk along the coast and visit the ⛱️ beaches, have a picnic 🧺 at one of the numerous tables or benches and go on a guided tour. I observed people flying kites and kids having fun 😊. The visitor center is a good place to read history or relax. The bathroom was in good shape. I would bring an umbrella ☔ even it is sunny ☀️. There is very little shade and an umbrella or parasol would provide some relief. Have water 💦, bug 🪲 repellent for the occasional mosquito 🦟. Waterproof shoes 👟 if it is raining or has recently rained. I enjoyed my visit and I recommend a visit if you want to go somewhere and relax.

It's absolutely terrible. On the way, i got radiation poisoning from the water, and when i finally got there, a bunch of huge crab things almost tore me to pieces. There was also a much bigger crab thing, and it kept spewing acid at me!! Do not recommend...

Spectacle Island sure is a spectacle to witness and experience! Took the Boston Harbor Cruise to Spectacle Island on a Wednesday afternoon and it was a very relaxing ride. Once you get off the boat, there’s a visitor center. There is a trail that loops all around the island and it takes you to the top as well. A quiet and beautiful lake in Jamaica Plain area with trails for people who like running or just want a walk. The trails were paved, about 1.5 miles, covered with national trees. So, it would be good for all seasons and all people. There were parking lots surrounding the lake. Even in a cold weekday morning, the parking lots were still pretty full. It is a gem in this crowded and busy area for a break.

Great and lovely place. Nice to walk along or dog walk around the pond(about a mile or more). Fishing & row boating are also enjoyable. Boat rental office located on east side of the pond. Parking issue is the only cons. Even roadside parking lot is located along Perkins st.(west side of pond), it is not so easy to park once, especially in weekend.

Forest Hills Cemetery, established in 1848, is a serene and historic burial ground located in Boston's Jamaica Plain neighborhood. This leafy cemetery features neo-Gothic gates, ornate chapels, sculptures, and the final resting places of notable figures like EE Cummings and William Lloyd Garrison. Spanning 275 acres, it offers a peaceful atmosphere for visitors to explore while admiring its beautiful funerary architecture and scenic lake.
One of the biggest and most beautiful cemeteries in New England. Unique, well maintained, and plenty to see. Peaceful. I had a long ride to get here, so I was so happy they had a bathroom and it was clean lol. Park outside or drive through. I, too, suggest driving through first to get a feel of the place. It's enormous. Bring your walking shoes and camera. No dogs or bikes, FYI. I will be back and definitely recommend, even just once. There's also an interesting cemetery across the street. So much to see! I was here for over 2 hours and I didn't see everything. For my video visit LUMLifeArt on YouTube or social media!

On a sunny winter day, when I seek solitude and deep reflection, I venture to the Forest Hills Cemetery. The snow-covered grounds, illuminated by the bright winter sun, sparkle with an ethereal light, giving the cemetery an almost serene, otherworldly beauty. The headstones, wrapped in a blanket of pristine white, cast long shadows that dance gently in the sunlight. Nearby, the ice-covered pond glistens like a jewel, its surface reflecting the clear blue sky and the stark silhouettes of leafless trees. Despite the chill in the air, the sun provides a comforting warmth, inviting contemplation amidst the delicate balance of life and stillness.

This is a wonderful place to come for a walk in beautiful surroundings. The cemetery is very well kept with clear paths and lots of interesting things to see from the graves themselves to the trees and foliage. It's very different from the burial grounds within the main downtown of Boston and was designed as a garden cemetery. Some of the tombs are absolutely stunning and are real works of art. Just inside the gates is a display of maps with a little donation box ($1 suggested). If you're not great with maps like me and there's a grave in particular you want to find, I would ask in the office for a more precise location. The cemetery is really big and the location circles on the map can have quite a few graves in the same area. I was just having a general walk and had a 50/50 success rate at actually locating the pinpointed ones. I found the smaller grassy paths are very well signposted but the larger main paths are not always so it's helpful to cross reference with the map on your phone so you don't get turned around too!

I went for the miniatures and got so much more. The place is a stunning outdoor museum. What a spectacular final resting place. Can’t wait to cover all 275 acres. I wish they offered a full program of activities like Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn: bus tours of notable graves and important art, concerts, etc.
AC V — Google review
Amazing place to relax and walk. You can no longer walk your dog or ride your bike inside the gates. I can understand why. Nonetheless it’s probably one of the most beautiful places in Boston and historic.
C D — Google review
Beautiful cemetery to walk through to gather your thoughts and enjoy your surroundings…nature and those who’ve come before you.
Anthony T — Google review
Under-used and privately owned, this is a waste of space that could be a park, wildlife reservation, a farm, or housing. But who needs all that? Owned by the Forest Hills Educational Trust, a non-profit that relies partly on government grants and is surely comprised of abutters that oppose new housing. They claim to promote this as a communal space, putting on concerts for example, however a quick look at their website shows that there are ZERO events, and they prohibit dog-walking, jogging, and bicycling. In other words, we may enter, but we may not enjoy this space. It exists to profit the owners. And yes, how insensitive of me to criticize a cemetery.

Boston Light is a historic and operational lighthouse that was built in 1783. It offers guided tours and stunning coastal views. Located on Little Brewster Island, it was the site of the first lighthouse in the USA, constructed in 1716 but destroyed by British forces in 1776. The current lighthouse provides breathtaking sunrise views and stands as a testament to maritime history.
As Brian S. notes, this was the very first lighthouse station in the United States, established in 1716 with the current 75 foot tall conical tower dating back to 1783 (raised to 98 feet in 1856). If you look at Boston Harbor, you'll see that there was a big need for such things with all the small islands here including this one, Little Brewster Island. Tours of the lighthouse are available through the National Park Service. I got to see it today courtesy of clear weather and Delta Air Lines flight 5639.

To clear up some history: the current lighthouse at Boston Light is NOT America's first lighthouse, it is America's second lighthouse. The original Boston light, which was the first in the country, was torched by those pesky redcoats during the American Revolution. Then New Jersey pulled up and built a lighthouse before Boston Light could be rebuilt. TLDR, the current Boston Light is the second-oldest. Still dope tho.

Carson Beach, located on the South Shore, is a popular public beach offering opportunities for swimming and sunbathing. Situated along South Boston's shoreline, it is easily accessible from the JFK/UMass station. While it can get lively during weekends and holidays, the beach provides everything needed for a day in the sun. Additionally, nearby attractions like Loco Taqueria & Oyster Bar and Lincoln Tavern offer post-beach refreshments.
This Beach I go to allot in the summer . Plenty of free street parking , bathroom’s , clean and beautiful sand . The people are great . I really enjoy my time here . They have a no dog policy . They have an ice cream truck that frequents the area.

A nice, well maintained public beach with volleyball area. A very “New England” beach and parking can be a challenge. Check the tide chart as when it’s low it’s muddy and not easy to access the water. When it’s up, it’s great.
Jarrod W — Google review
Easily accessible, clean beach with incredible views across the bay. Visited in early August, so plenty of parking spots, access, and room to spread out to swim or sunbathe. As always, check the tide chart to determine which tide height works best for you.

It's a very nice and clean place to relax. State police baracks are close by. Nobody there is looking for trouble. Nice people walk up and down the fide walk. There is a large park nearby. Castle Island kayak at the end of the beach. What else can one ask for.

My local! Busy today with families, groups of friends, older people walking and runners on the path. You can sit on the wooden seating looking at the beach under shade, or sit on the wall, sand is fine, course at water and has gentle lapping waves great for younger children with cool water for a warm day - typical city beach! Amazing to watch the fog come over at 4.30pm, lost all visibility of the view!
Michelle — Google review
I love Carson Beach. At low tide the bottom gets very mucky so if that's a thing for you don't go then. Outdoor showers for rinsing off. I don't know much about the snack bar but I think it's fried food and ice cream. I wouldn't say a ton of parking, probably between 60-80 spots between the 2 plus but as long as it's not in the nineties you can usually find parking most days.
Shawn P — Google review
The sand near the water is straight up sludgy mud that is hard to walk through and difficult to rinse off. I don’t recommend this beach for swimming for that reason- you’ll get covered up to your calves in mud. The beach sand is alright but not very soft. Difficult to park.

It's a place that captures the imagination of many, with its rich history dating back to 1636. The area offers a picturesque backdrop for various activities, from exploring famous landmarks like Mower Hall and Sever Hall to enjoying leisurely strolls on its scenic green lawn.
Beautiful, Historic, and Peaceful Harvard Yard is such a special place. Just to think how old it is and how much history has passed through those gates — it really gives you a sense of something bigger. The grounds are very clean, peaceful, and well-kept, with beautiful old buildings and shady spots to sit and take it all in.

Harvard Yard is one of the most beautiful and historic places to visit in the Boston area. Walking through the Yard feels like stepping into a living museum, surrounded by red brick buildings, centuries of history, and the unmistakable atmosphere of one of the world’s most prestigious universities. The grounds are immaculately kept, with large shade trees and open green spaces that make it both peaceful and inspiring. The Yard itself is more than just a campus quad, it is the heart of Harvard University. You will find some of the oldest buildings here, along with landmarks such as the famous John Harvard statue. There is a constant mix of students, professors, visitors, and tour groups, which gives the place a lively, intellectual energy. Despite the activity, it still feels like a quiet retreat in the middle of the city. What makes Harvard Yard special is how accessible it is to people of all ages. Families with children can enjoy the wide open lawns, older visitors can appreciate the rich history and architecture, and anyone with a love for learning will feel the significance of the setting. Whether you are here to take a guided tour, explore the campus on your own, or simply sit under a tree and enjoy the surroundings, there is something memorable about the experience. The surrounding Harvard Square area adds even more to the visit, with bookstores, cafes, and shops just steps away. It is easy to spend a full afternoon here, combining the history of Harvard Yard with the vibrant culture of Cambridge. Overall, Harvard Yard is a gorgeous, inspiring place that is absolutely worth seeing. It captures both the weight of history and the spirit of curiosity that defines Harvard. For anyone visiting Boston or Cambridge, a stop at Harvard Yard is a must.

A beautiful park right in front of the Harvard library. It is also the place where commencement occurs. We were here right before the 6,000 graduates heading to the real world. A nice visit.
C N — Google review
Inside Harvard Square, there is a library, a statue of John Harvard, and the Harvard Art Museum. John Harvard was a Puritan clergyman from the Kingdom and the founder of Harvard University, a prestigious private university in the United States. Before he died of tuberculosis in 1638, he donated his estate (776 pounds sterling and 400 books) to 'New College', which was established in 1636. In 1639, New College was renamed Harvard University in his honor, and you can still see his statue at Harvard University today. There is a popular belief that if everyone touch the feet of the John Harvard statue, you will be accepted to Harvard University. That is why you can see the tips of the statue's shoes turning white from the feet of so many people who visit or tour Harvard University. Also, in the past, protests were often held at the John Harvard statue for social issues or on-campus strikes. The quaint brownstone buildings within the campus blend in well with the old trees. Tourists visiting Harvard University should plan their itinerary around Harvard Square, where the John Harvard statue is located, and the Harvard Art Museum. Parking is available at the coin-operated parking lot on Quincy Street between the Harvard Art Museum and Harvard Square.

The Swan Boats of Boston have been a beloved tradition since 1877, inspired by the opera Lohengrin. Originally designed for two passengers and a driver, these pedal boats now accommodate up to 25 people for leisurely rides around the Public Gardens Lagoon. Operating from April to September, they are a quintessential Boston experience and a popular choice for romantic proposals.
My daughter loved it! We went twice! My daughter liked taking photos from the boat. I was happy 😊 because my daughter was happy! I found the short ride relaxing and scenic. We went under the footbridge, where we saw pigeons, around Duck 🦆 Island, where we also noticed turtles, and back again. My daughter liked the stuffed animals they had for purchase. Very reasonable prices for going on the boat. Friendly staff. The boats are pedal powered. Our "engine" said it is like pedalling uphill. I recommend a ride if you visit Boston Public gardens!

I had a lovely experience with the Swan Boats in Boston! I went on a Sunday, and the wait was around 15 minutes, which was very reasonable for a weekend. The ride itself takes about 15 minutes, and it’s a relaxing way to enjoy the Public Garden from the water. Tickets are less than $5 per person, which makes it a great, affordable activity. Overall, I really enjoyed it—definitely recommend if you’re visiting the area or just want a peaceful moment in the city.

The swan boats are honestly one of my favorite little things to do in the city!! It is so peaceful and cute gliding around the pond surrounded by flowers and all the chaos of Boston just kind of melts away for a bit. It is short but it is so worth it. The people who run it are always so sweet and it is one of those classic Boston things that makes you feel like a kid again, & every time I go it just puts me in such a good mood. Definitely something everyone should do at least once.

Best $ 4.75 you'll spend all trip. You buy tickets there. The staff were very nice. They accept credit cards. A few minute trip around the pond (not sure if obvious, but they do the paddling for the whole group that sits in front on "benches"). Worth every penny. Don't skip it.

I attended the reunion this weekend as a husband. It was an overall pleasurable experience. The campus itself is very nice and meticulously maintained. Bathroom facilities adequate but nothing extraordinary. The BBQ on Saturday afternoon was nice because it was on campus in a very nice area. Music a bit loud for mid afternoon. Food, not great. I really liked the coozie they gave out. The class party Saturday night for the 10 year peeps was fascinating. It was inside a recreation center which seemed like an odd choice given the plethora of really nice areas on campus. The food selection there I thought was good but many in the group strongly disagreed with that sentiment. The tortellini was on point even tho it seemed to light a bit of a fire under my seat if you catch my drift. I was a little disappointed at all events that I had to pay 7$ for a bud light after already purchasing tickets. I will say we popped over to the 5 year reunion and wow, what a treat that event was. Overall it was a nice weekend, BC seemed to do my wife well as she is very smart. Her friends are also very cool. So I would recommend the college. We may send our kids there if my plan to hit the lottery multiple times comes to fruition. Mods for life.

Boston Harbor has a rich history as a crucial trading hub during the 1600s and 1700s, playing a significant role in the War of Independence. It also served as a sought-after destination for enslaved people seeking freedom with the help of abolitionists in the area. Today, it offers stunning views of the city skyline and charming waterfront restaurants, making it an ideal spot for romantic dates.
A lovely place to visit in Boston, this harbor is exceptionally clean and well-organized, setting it apart from others I've seen. The well-maintained facilities and the picturesque surroundings make it a truly delightful destination. Whether you're a local or a tourist, I definitely recommend taking the time to visit and enjoy the unique atmosphere and scenic beauty.

I love Boston, and being by the water is the best! So many places to sit and relax, watch the races or boats just sailing by. Bring a picnic and take a break from the craziness in life.

So nice to stay in Boston right on Boston Harbor. Check out the view in my video! The Hyatt Place Seaport location was terrific and a wonderful free breakfast buffet.

Cool trip to enjoy the beautiful view of Boston. Don’t miss stops at the Aquarium, Faneuil Hall Market, and Quincy Market.

Enjoyed the whale watching tour. Some a Fin Whale, Humpback Whale, and Minke Whale.

Was very cold. Decently clean, but the boardwalk has many loose boards that were causing a lot of people to trip. Beautiful views.

Amazing view of Boston from cruise...Superb.. it's a lovely summer's day and we decided to take the boat tour. this is a wonderful way to spend time and see Boston from the water. The Boston Naval Shipyard, USS Constitution Museum, Castle Island and the historic Boston Waterfront - what a fun way to relive all our Boston History, Many thanks to the great group of narrators, I particularly enjoyed the USS Constitution firing its cannon at sunset. Watching the sunset from the water was really cool, and the city looked beautiful as it lit up when the sun went down. It is beautiful near the end of the tour as all of Boston lights up and you're just enjoying the boat as it glides along the shore.

Reservoir
Chestnut Hill Reservoir, located near Boston College, offers a serene and picturesque setting for various outdoor activities. The small body of water is surrounded by a dirt walking/biking path and wooded areas, making it an ideal spot for exercise, picnics, or simply unwinding in a peaceful environment. Accessible from the Green Line, visitors can enjoy running, walking, biking, fishing, and picnicking.
A great place for walking, running and spending free time 💫💫🖼

Scenic walking paths. The loop is around 20-25 minutes so it’s easy to do twice or 3 times. Can be icy in winter, beautiful in summer/spring. Parking is very easy since there are lots of spots around for permits and non-permits.

Visit here millions time and absolutely my favorite place to walk around.

Perfect spot for jogging a flat, wide 1.5 mile loop. Inviting and feels safe to be alone. Nice views and great at sunset.

It's an unshaded trail but I love walking here with my friends late in the evening and early in the morning.

Great place to be outside in Brookline. Easily accessible from the Green Line, you can run, walk, bike, fish, picnic, and other things. Had a lot of fun here.

Had a nice experience at Chestnut Hill reservoir. It is a small body of water with a dirt walking/biking path circling it with wooded areas circling that. I was surprised to find such a beautiful little space near my new apartment. Perfect for a little exercise, a picnic, or just relaxing and reading a book in a serene setting. There is something about a green space so close to an urban environment that is really appealing to me.
