Cutter & Squidge is a bright and modern bakery known for its pastries, baked goods, and elaborate celebration cakes. It prides itself on being London's only all-natural bakery, offering treats that are both delicious and relatively healthy. The bakery's signature biskies combine the best elements of cake and cookie, featuring layers of cream and jam sandwiched between homemade biscuits. One standout option is the salted caramel biskie with its award-winning status and indulgent marshmallow filling.
Ordered from Scotland for our first Father's day and had 5 star experience with Cutter & Squidge. I was really scared for a while about the taste and delivery condition but they surprised me. Very quick and perfect delivery and amazingly delicious cake. My husband loves red velvet cake and he says this is one of the finest he ever had. Absolutely made our Father's day💕🩷

Ordered with about 2 weeks notice to be delivered to Nottingham, I received a second confirmation a few days before and then again the day before! We had the passionfruit and pistachio and it was amazing! It was a very soft sponge and lots of flavour, not at all sickly. People compliment it and wanted to know where we'd got it. Really made the day special and it arrived extremely well packaged, not a scuff on the cake. Thank you for the great experience 👍
Natalie T — Google review
I discovered this bakery online and decided to order a birthday cake. The delivery was on time and the cake was delivered in perfect condition, despite the weather being over 35 Celsius! Clearly the delivery staff do their job carefully and the packaging did an amazing job protecting the cake too. I ordered a raspberry ripple cake and it looked fabulous and tasted delicious. The flavours were carefully balanced and you could taste the freshness of the ingredients. Overall, this was a very positive experience and I would highly recommend this bakery for fresh and exquisite cakes.

We had the pleasure of taking Mrs Patmore’s afternoon tea at the store this afternoon. We were seated downstairs and felt very much like we were on set. We were served by the lovely and attentive Omema and Fatima the store manager was really warm and friendly. We felt very welcome and the cakes and scones were delicious. The double chocolate caramel in particular was exceptional and the fruit scone was light and fluffy - went very well with clotted cream and gooseberry jam. Generous servings and spread. A wonderful way to spend Sunday afternoon. Many thanks to the team!

We came to Cutter & Squidge for afternoon tea and had a lovely time! The place is charming and the food was delicious, both the traditional and vegan versions. It was a hearty meal so we took the cakes away for later. The service was perfect, everyone was lovely to us! 💖
Sidouille F — Google review
We had been invited to a Downtown Abbey themed tea at this very cool bakery/cafe. We were led downstairs where the room was transformed into Mrs Patmore’s kitchen. Literally the upstairs/downstairs lives of DA! The decorations were amazing. The spread was lovely and delicious. Fatima was friendly and welcoming. Have us various cake options along with the scones and sandwiches. Omema was providing very attentive table service. She patiently explained the various sweet treats and made the occasion very special - especially when we were celebrating our 29th wedding anniversary. Amazing experience! Give it a go and see how the other half lived!

Have not visited the restaurant, however, we ordered our wedding cake from Cutter & Squidge in June 2025. The cake was delivered without issues, customer service was great and the cake itself was absolutely delicious. The chosen flavours were Double Choc Salted Caramel and Raspberry - perfect for a summer wedding!
N S — Google review
Ordered cake delivery online after let down by M&S and their cyber issue. What a blessing in disguise. I can’t fault the service. Delivered on time and well packaged. Chocolate fudge cake was delicious and everyone commented on how moist and tasty it was. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and can’t wait to order again in the future. My new go to cake place!

Pophams is a patisserie known for its traditional and innovative croissants and baked goods, including weekend specials. The bakery has expanded its menu to include items like sourdough cheese toasties and artisan pasta. While the physical stores have closed, Pophams now offers delivery of pasta, sauces, bread, pastries, and cheese within a one-mile radius of London Fields. A portion of the proceeds from orders goes to support a local community food kitchen.
Now I get why people keep saying that Pophams is the best bakery in London. I tried the bacon and maple syrup bun and it tasted amazing, very balanced sweet and savoury. I also had an almond croissant that had a more particular taste but you can tell everything is fresh baked. There’s always a queque in the morning but it’s moving fast. The only thing I find quite stressful is that you have to order at the counter and then you don’t know if you’re going to find a table, if you go alone. I really want to go back next time I’m in London and try more pastries.
María T — Google review
This place is quite famous and happens to be close to my office. Really lovely environment with both indoor and outdoor seating — you can choose whatever you feel like! Their pastries are exceptional and huge! This is exactly what we all look for when it comes to delicious pastries, isn’t it? This is my second visit, and after checking the reviews, I decided to try the Bacon & Maple one since it seemed quite popular — and yes, it was absolutely delicious! The pastry was crispy yet moist from the maple syrup, not too sweet, and perfectly balanced with the bacon, which wasn’t too salty either. The sweet-and-savoury combo just made me keep eating! The croissant was also really good — fluffy and buttery — and the flan had a unique flavour, maybe dark sugar or malt? They also offer unlimited water, which is great for people like me who don’t drink coffee or tea. Definitely recommended, and I’ll be back again soon!
Michel M — Google review
The place has a really nice vibe and the service was very good. The highlight of the visit was definitely the pastry. We had the maple and bacon swirl and it was out of this world! The best pastry I’ve ever had. Definitely recommend getting it warmed up as well. The coffee was also very good. Will definitely come back :)
Adriana N — Google review
Great on a sunny day as there is lots of outdoor seating. We ordered the sweetcorn chowder which was served super hot with tangy fresh sourdough, the bacon maple swirl, this was nice but was expensive! My almond croissant was well filled and not too sweet but a little over cooked. For two coffees and the food it cost £27. We came on a Friday to a full cafe but we could get a table straight away.
Lily G — Google review
Highly recommend Pophams! I came here on my travels looking to try pastries in the UK and this was definitely the top place. We had the maple and bacon pastry. Was delicious, temperature was perfect, and was baked so well. Service was very friendly and really enjoyed the atmosphere as it was a chill and relaxing vibe. I also really liked how their menu showed which were vegan, and had nuts in it.
Devin V — Google review
Long queue on a Sunday brunch - same queue regardless of takeaway or dine in. Found a nice spot facing out, ordered the yoghurt with granola and portion was quite small for the price. Yoghurt also had a strange cream texture, still good. The classic parmesan twist was crispy and savoury. Cardamom bun was perfectly crispy with the savoury cinnamon flavor.
Tan M — Google review
The best pastries I’ve ever had in my life and this is not an exaggeration. The maple and bacon bun is so interesting and full of flavour, the coffee is incredible and I’ve come back to have the cardamom bun again and to share it with my mom and she loved it to. The lamination, the caramelised outside of the pastry, the butteriness, the salt levels and the rich cardamom flavour. It’s just perfect. Their coffee was also incredible. Would give it 1000/5 if I could. Will come back again, 100%.
Polina H — Google review
Lovely bakery with loads of outdoor seating on a peaceful street with a beautiful homegoods and pantry store next to the bakery. Highly recommend ham and cheese croissant and the cardamom bun. Bottled green juice was also excellent.

Donut shop
Bread Ahead Bakery, located in Borough Market and various other spots around London, is renowned for its fresh sourdough bread, award-winning filled doughnuts, and delectable pastries like cinnamon swirls and pistachio pains au chocolat. The bakery's iconic doughnuts are a major draw, with flavors like salted caramel and classic vanilla custard.
I had the most amazing donuts at Borough Market! The dough is wonderfully fluffy, soft, and light, yet still rich and satisfying. Each donut is filled generously with delicious cream or jam, and the flavors are varied and exciting — there’s truly something for everyone. The balance between the filling and the dough is perfect, so every bite is indulgent without being too heavy. They also sell fresh bread, which looks just as tempting. Service is quick and friendly, and it’s super convenient that you can pay by card. Definitely a must-try if you’re in the market and craving something sweet and freshly baked!
Anita B — Google review
Their dough is very good - light and fluffy - and are packed with filling. However, was disappointed with the lack of flavour in the blackcurrant - there was no blackcurrant jam on the inside, only the bit of jam dribbled on the outside, and the cheesecake filling didn't taste like anything at all, not even vanilla. Service was also a bit rude/dismissive. There are far better doughnut spots elsewhere - would not recommend going out of your way for this one - did not live up to the hype at all getting a flavourless doughnut.
Kat — Google review
Must try doughnuts when you are I. Borough market, if you go on the weekend it’s worth going through the crowds of borough market and the queue goes very quickly. The crème Brûlée is my favourite. In addition they do amazing savoury snacks also. There big pizza slices are great for a lunch bite or a snack. The olive and cheese stick is so good and you can’t beat their sourdough bread to take away. To make it even better they offer courses to learn how to make most of the items they sell. The pizza course and sourdough classes are great and you learn so much and get to eat as you go, normally with a baked good treat as a bonus.
Amber G — Google review
Tried Bread Ahead and loved the donuts! I had the pistachio and crème brûlée — both really good, not too sweet, and the dough isn’t greasy at all. They are pricey at £4.50 each, so definitely more of an occasional treat. The only downside is the long queue, and the stall is on a messy street with construction going on. The staff seemed a bit checked out, but it was a super busy day so understandable. Overall, a great snack stop in Borough Market!
Teresa V — Google review
The smell that filled the street and the wonderful cream and dough that came out when you put it in your mouth made it a fantastic experience. They have lots of affordable products you can eat on the go. We chose the vanilla one, and it was quite delicious.
Aras A — Google review
A Dessert Worth Trying at Borough Market This is one of the desserts worth trying when you visit Borough Market. We tried two classic crème brûlées. The sugar on top was a bit too much, but the custard inside was delicious and helped balance the sweetness. Overall, a dessert worth trying. We paid £4.5 per piece.
Mert A — Google review
Donuts never fail - Fluffy and fresh. Would recommend if you’ve a sweet tooth. If not, go for the focaccia. Crispy on the outside, chewy in the inside. At 4-7 pounds per piece, it is VERY worth it.
Ally K — Google review
Was following on Instagram for years and finally made it. This place is a haven for foodies. I tried the famous donuts but need to return for the bread. Totally recommend 👌🏼

Violet Cakes is a quaint bakery in Dalston, run by Claire Ptak, a talented cook/designer/stylist from California. This charming spot offers an array of delicious American-style cupcakes, pastries, and brownies made with high-quality ingredients. Their signature treats are beautifully decorated with real flowers, adding a touch of elegance to their laidback atmosphere. The menu changes seasonally and features flavors like chocolate violet and lemon.
The California cookies were delightful. I can really taste the coconut, strawberry with big chunks of chocolate, perfect! The cupcakes are more in the sweeter side but I love it!
Annisha N — Google review
Lovely cake shop with amazing chocolate cupcakes — rich, moist, and full of flavor! They also offer a great variety of other sweet treats and good coffee to go with it. Cozy atmosphere and friendly staff make it a perfect spot for a quick break or a sweet indulgence.
Samah A — Google review
"when are we going to Violet" is the first planning step every time I have a trip to London planned. Claire's cookbooks are the most heavily used in my rotation at home, and inspire a lot of my own baking. My partner and I usually grab an assortment of desserts to share when here and sit on their little patio watching the world go by and tasting everything: cupcakes that are moist and topped with creative and full bodied icings, chewy and spiced cookies, mini pumpkin pies if they're in season: a little bit of everything. Nothing is too sweet and everything is big on flavor and texture. This most recent visit we tried the avocado and ham toasts which came on perfectly crusty sourdough with a runny egg and those were also a delight. Their coffee and matcha never disappoints either. My only regret is not living in London and not being able to go more often.
Kat G — Google review
I enjoyed the strawberry cupcake at Violet but what was suggested (the scone with apricot was not good and expensive!). The filling just tasted like butter and the dough was mediocre. The service was weird too… the server got angry because I didn’t leave tip. It’s a bakery!
Michelle B — Google review
I entered this bakery thinking it would be a cute local spot. However, on entering, we did not feel very welcomed. We were greeted with nothing more than a mere half-hearted smile. The prices were on the high side, £17.10 for two cookies and 2 small drinks. The cookies were hard and dry. Whilst the hot chocolate was good, the matcha was lukewarm with clumps of matcha powder at the bottom. I would not recommend due to the poor service and lack of quality. Disappointing.
Tara S — Google review
Ordered the chocolate buttercream cake for a birthday and it was so so good. The chocolate flavour was so rich in both the cake and cream - it was almost like a brownie cake. Super delicious and recommended!
Martin M — Google review
I absolutely devoured the matcha blondie. I even started questioning myself if this was even real and how i was able to reach this level of satisfaction in life lmao 😭😭 love the place and the employees! Very cosy and highly recommend this place

The tahini brownie and cupcake cake were delicious, however the cupcake icing wasn’t as flavourful as I expected (was pleasantly not too sweet though). The service was wonderful, definitely worth a visit!

Bakery
E5 Bakehouse is an artisan bakery and cafe in Hackney with a strong community focus. It started as a supplier of excellent loaves and has now expanded to offer mouthwatering brunches, organic lunches, and a variety of sweet and savory treats. The bakery's commitment to sustainability is evident in its use of fresh produce from its Suffolk farm, including organically grown wheat processed in its own stone mill.
I had an amazing time at the sourdough bread course at e5 Bakehouse last Saturday. It was a beautiful day, and the whole experience was inspiring from start to finish. Alex, our teacher, was fantastic—so enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about his craft. He made the learning process fun, clear, and really engaging. The rest of the team was just as warm and welcoming, creating a great atmosphere throughout the day. I learned so much and left with new skills, more confidence, and, of course, lots of bread! Highly recommend this course to anyone curious about baking or just looking for a special and enjoyable experience in London.

First time coming here and loved the space. Great selection of bread and cakes as well as drinks. I ordered a BLT and a slice of their danish which tasted great! They have outdoor and indoor seating. I had a lovely time catching up with a friend here for a few hours, staff were very attentive and quick to clear up empty plates. Laptop friendly environment, would definitely love to come back on my own and do some work.
Bee L — Google review
This is one of east London's most popular artisan bakeries, located right next to the entrance of London Fields train station. There is only a small sign to let people know that it's there. But once inside, it's like doctor who's TARDIS, bigger on the inside! I paid a visit early on Saturday morning, and it was bustling. Despite being located only a 5-minute walk from Broadway market I would think that this place gets very busy about Saturday lunchtime to afternoon. This place also roasts it own coffee, hence my interest. Prices are par for the course for an artisan bakery in London. I had a pain au chocolate and a flat white, both were excellent. Competition for artisan coffee in this part of London is tough, it has to be good and it most certainly is. Recommended by myself.
Mike — Google review
Loved the feel of the place and how it has a mini market. Very spacious and clean bathrooms if i may add. Delicious coffee didn't like the cookie they braged about, was kinda dry for me. Will definitely try other things if I ever was in the area again
S ( — Google review
Holy cow this was good!! I had the fried egg & halloumi bun, as well as a corn madeline/scone thing. The bun was yummm — super tasty bread with just the right balance of sweet/savoury/umami. I had the corn snack a little later and it really threw me off: moist inside but with a satisfying crust. Would 100% return, this time with an empty stomach and some grocery bags.
Min — Google review
Excellent place where they make their own bread starting from the wheat with a mini mill, we ordered sandwiches and soups, there was a lot of space outside.

The Lily Vanilli Bakery, located in Shoreditch, East London, is a charming and trendy destination known for its exquisitely designed cakes and pastries. The bakery's owner, Lily "Vanilli" Jones, has created stunning confections that have caught the attention of celebrities like Elton John and Madonna. With a cozy courtyard cafe open from Thursday to Sunday, visitors can enjoy an array of imaginative seasonal treats including cupcakes and wedding cakes adorned with intricate decorations.
We ordered a cake for a friend’s baby shower and it was the most beautiful delicious cake. Everything they do at Lily Vanilli is gorgeous and tastes so good. Highly recommended!

Lovely! It does get very crowded with the flower market. We had the scone (was even warm) and the brownie (salty). Both were delicious. The service was a bit slow though, but friendly.
Soraia A — Google review
I love cake and stopped by Lili Vanilli based on the strong reviews. There were a few options available (most with a cherry theme), I went with the chocolate cherry cake. The cake itself had a nice chocolate flavour, and the buttercream was smooth and generously applied. It tasted like a North American-style cake - the sponge had a tender and moist crumb, fluffier. That said, I was hoping for more cherry presence. Aside from two cherry halves in the filling, there wasn’t much cherry flavour overall and ended up tasting mostly like a chocolate cake. It was served at room temperature, but I think this style of cake might benefit from being slightly chilled. At room temp, the fats in the cake and icing were more noticeable in taste and texture. Located off of Columbia Rd, in a mini alley / courtyard. There is outdoor seating. Lovely on a quiet Saturday afternoon.

Absolute best sweet treats in London, set in the cutest courtyard off the flower market. We also did Lily's cake decorating class, where she shared so many expert tips and tricks with such a fun approach! Such a fabulous night, thank you Lily 💛

I ordered a Lily Vanilly sprinkles cake - black, with cherries on top - for a photoshoot and birthday party. It was ready on time for pick-up, and tasted as amazing as it looked. My guests are now addicted! Big fan of Lily Vanilli’s - their afternoon tea at the Four Seasons hotel in London is also awesome!

My sister and I have enjoyed many afternoon teas over the years, and had them on the orient express, the Ritz and The Savoy to name but a few. however today we experienced THE BEST afternoon tea we have EVER had. The sandwiches and cakes were magnificent and total perfection, as was the beautiful china that it was served on, the service was first class, attentive and friendly, and the whole pretty decor was just sublime. We will be back for all the other themes you promote. We are already looking forward to your Christmas afternoon tea. THANK YOU

We went for my birthday while visiting London. It was some of the best tea I have had. We loved the decorations in there and how cute it was. Every detail was thought out. They were allergy friendly and had a variety to chose form. The tea was bottomless and it was so delicious. It was so nice to be able to try different teas. The only downside is that it is very small in here so you felt like you were right on top of the people next to you. We made reservations ahead of time and I am so glad we did because if not the line was extremely long. I would highly recommend! Our server even put a candle on my finger foods for my birthday!

I’m coming this place because is really pretty! I’m from Miami and I love the pink place! Coming this morning, Friday 10 am the place have people but no to much… We take the table outside the lady tell m I can go any table available. She comes for the drinks and take some time to come again for the food, also I need to ask somebody to take my order for the food… because she never come back again, is not to much friendly. For the food We ask for 2 lates to much stronger I ask for more milk and still was impossible, I left all 2 coffee and nobody ask me for the drinks or the coffee are ok… The food the avocado toast was a lot of avocado but didn’t taste to anything. I ask for the egg on the side and scramble… but then give me a poche scramble discussing. The rest was ok but nothing special. I try to go inside to take a look for the place but the same lady to take the order said I need to wait outside I can’t go inside 🥴 Really he didn’t like to have a customer service! But then they charge you 12% for service charge and didn’t go to the server You have a lot of place with better food price and customer service! The best you can do! Take a picture in the door and go to take a breakfast in the other corner!

I visited Peggy Porschen Belgravia Ltd in June and had a wonderful experience. We ordered pancakes and coffee, and both were absolutely delicious. The café itself is stunning with beautiful decor that creates a lovely atmosphere. The waiter was exceptionally kind and attentive—he even offered to take a photo of us at the entrance when he noticed we were struggling to take one ourselves. His friendly and warm interaction with my children made the visit even more special. Highly recommend this place

Peggy Porschen Cakes in Belgravia, London, is a must visit. This is the most charming bakery café I've ever visited. Not only is it the most charming atmosphere with stunning outdoor installations for every season, the food is excellent and the bakery items are simply delectable! Do not miss this darling bakery on your next trip to London, England!

The atmosphere is lovely and the place looks super Instagrammable, really pretty inside. We managed to get a table as walk-ins on a Saturday which was great. But WARNING: unfortunately the food was terrible. The avocado salmon sandwich had avocado that was clearly off, the eggs Benedict were extremely salty, and the lavender and rose lattes were sickeningly sweet. The cupcakes tasted really artificial too. Honestly, it feels like you only pay for the photos and nothing else. We’ve never eaten anywhere where both food and drinks were this bad. Paid £70 for two “mains”, coffees and two cupcakes. The staff didn’t even ask if the food was tasty or if everything was ok – probably because they already knew.

Fortitude Bakehouse offers a variety of baked goods such as bread, buns, cake, and coffee. Their sourdough loaves have a perfect balance of chewiness and tanginess, while their sticky buns are light and sweet. The cakes are also made from sourdough and fall somewhere in between. What sets this bakery apart is that all their cakes use either sourdough starters or fermented batters.
During my vacation in London I visited this bakery twice. Everything was great. The smell from bakery was awsome. Firstly I tasted hazelnut-chocolate pain suise with mocha cappuccino and it was great. The dough was crispy and pastry was well balanced. Ialso took berber omelette. Services was nice and helpful. It was friendly talk with the ladies. It could be better if will be there cozy inside sitting place in the future. Second visit was also very good experience. I tasted morning bun with blueberries and vanilla cream and I took matcha latte. Great combination. Nice latte art. Bun was full of filling (it could be more baked for me, but it is not necesary). Both visit were perfect start of the day. I am looking forward to next visit sometimes in the future.

Stopped here somewhat recently on a whim. Super busy! They have a really great selection available - We both had one of the beignets, which were very tasty but I think they could've been a bit more generous with the toppings for the price, service was quick and friendly, will definitely be back again if we're in the area.

Fortitude Bakery is such a gem. Everything here tastes like it’s made with real love and quality ingredients. The pastries are flaky and fresh, but what really surprised me were the sandwiches — especially the chicken harissa. It’s bursting with flavor and perfectly balanced. You can taste the freshness in every bite, and the staff is genuinely friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere makes it easy to linger over coffee or lunch. Definitely a must-visit when you’re in town.

I recently visited this bakery and was genuinely impressed by several of their pastries and drinks. I highly recommend the Hazelnut & Chocolate Custard pan suisse, which is rich, flaky, and layered with a perfect balance of nutty sweetness and silky chocolate. The Cinnamon & Stick Bun is another standout—warm, aromatic, and wonderfully comforting without being overly sweet. My favorite pastry might have been the Baked Plum Danish with Orange Custard Hazelnut crumb; the tart plum, bright citrus custard, and subtle hazelnut come together beautifully for a pastry that’s both unique and incredibly flavorful. However, the Blackberry Cinnamon Cream Beignet was a miss for me. The flavor combination didn’t come together well, and it was much too creamy, to the point where I couldn’t finish it. On the drink side, you should definitely try the Apple Matcha Latte. It’s absolutely delicious—refreshing, balanced, and surprisingly harmonious. I also tried the Chicken Harissa Baguette, which was flavorful and satisfying, making it a solid savory option worth ordering. Steaming outside only though

Holy guacamole the chocolate hazelnut pan suisse is soooo decadent- super crispy shell, bitter cocoa powder paired with hazelnuts inside makes an insane combo. Sooo yummy!! The flat white is also pretty good, more on the acidic side!

Hidden away in a quiet passage, this little shop quickly became a favourite of mine. The staff are incredibly friendly and I loved the impressive range of pastries, with choices for both sweet and savoury moods. The first time I visited, I chose a feta and spinach pastry alongside a cinnamon bun — both were absolutely delicious. The experience was so enjoyable that I returned the next day and got a morning bun, which pleasantly surprised me with its subtle sweetness and light texture. I also tried two different coffees on my visits, and both were excellent — Very rich and the ideal companion to my pastries.
Karolin M — Google review
I was worried it would be overhyped but our pastries really were very tasty. They were also massive, so value for money here is actually quite good. The berry trifle danish was spectacular - so much going on but it somehow all worked. The lemon thyme polenta cake may have been slightly less exciting but it was still pretty delicious, with a moist crumb and perfectly chewy crust. The only thing I'd say is the thyme flavour could have slightly stronger and the buttercream less sweet (the dominant flavour was sugar). We turned up half an hour before closing and they still had a decent selection of things.
Rachel K — Google review
We had a Mocha Cream and Cherry Beignet. The buns were fresh and cream nice and fluffy. Not too - just the right amount. Really enjoyed it and will return. The seating outside is convenient and much needed. Definitely have the beignets, I will try other things next time.

The Dusty Knuckle Bakery is a popular spot known for its creative sandwiches, salads, and fresh breads. In addition to their renowned loaves and filled focaccia sandwiches, the bakery has expanded its offerings to include sourdough pizzas with unique twists on classic flavors. The new outpost in Harringay serves up these delectable pizzas straight from a woodfired oven, accompanied by tiramisu and beer on tap.
so yum! ive had this bakery on my radar for a while now, and it was so worth the wait to come along. whilst £11 is obviously a lot for a sandwich, you 100% get what you pay for. The homemade bread was absolutely lovely and the sandwich was packed full of flavourful filling. the atmosphere was lovely, and sitting outside was great. service was brilliant and hardly a wait for my food either. i came at about 12 o’clock and didn’t have to queue, however when i left at 12:40 there was a large queue, so definitely get there a bit earlier if you want a sandwich! they deserve the popularity though, i absolutely loved this bakery.

Fantastic bakery! Had the green bean, tomato and whipped feta sarnie which was delicious. The fruit pastry was also brilliant. Due to its popularity it does sell out early of certain products which is the only down side
Garth S — Google review
A bakery in what is basically a service yard never felt so good. I went there for breakfast, and at 8am it was alive with staff making such delicious baked goods. I had a Feta, Honey & Fennel Seed Swirl, which was amazing! Don’t go to Pret, go here. You will not be disappointed!
M B — Google review
Really liked this place - very good croissant and excellent sandwiches. I got a pork sandwich, it was Asian style so came was full of interesting flavours and the pickled carrots etc balanced the pork nicely. I would say the sandwich is on the expensive side compared to other places which is why I didn’t rate it 5 stars
Ella R — Google review
Best sandwich I’ve ever had! If you want the focaccia sandwiches then you need to come at 11:30! The till doesn’t take payments for the order unless it is exactly 11:30 and after. Takeaway orders are collected outside of the shop. Although I’m not a big fan of coronation chicken, but they’ve done very well at combining different ingredients, crunchy nuts, herbs, green apple slices, not to mention the airy and flavourful sour dough potato bread, I can see why people queue up here for food. The only downside to me is that the place gets so busy and it can be crowded. Also as a first time visitor, there’s not much guidance on what to do, you just sort of figure it out. The location for me was a little hard to find, you walk down the alleyway and it is the shop to your right, the name of the shop wasn’t visible unless you step opposite the shop.

After being recommended this bakery I was eager to visit and it didn't disappoint. Maybe one of the largest bakeries you'll ever visit, hidden down the end of a back lane with extensive outdoor seating it's a great spot for brunch or lunch on the weekend just be prepared to que. I visited on a Saturday and waited no more than a couple of minutes and tried two of my favourite UK stallwards the Morning Roll (chai spiced sugar dusted cruffin) and the go-to Honey and Feta swirl which was laden with sesame and poppy seeds and was absolutely banging! All their pastries and bread looked top tier. Flaky lamination and a deep caramel crust on all their sourdough (just the way I like it!) The breakfast sando looked unreal, and is clearly a top seller for good reason. I look forward to my next visit to try the rest! Keep up the good work team! 🤘

Unbeatable breads, amazing sandwiches, and really creative options! The queue this past July 6th weekend was wild, but worth it! We waited in the queue about 20 minutes until we ordered, but there were plenty of tables and we were able to sit 4 of us at a table inside. Despite the crowds, service was so fast! Our sandwiches + drinks arrived within 8-10 minutes of ordering and were of course, the best in London. It’s the first time I’ve seen it this busy, but even with the queue, these baked goods are always worth it.

TOAD Bakery, located on Peckham Road, is a relatively new establishment that has quickly gained popularity for its exceptional bread and seasonal pastries. The bakery prides itself on using sustainable UK-grown grain to produce fresh loaves daily. Their creative pastries, such as the roast pork, red cabbage and cheddar croissant or the pumpkin chocolate cake with coffee frosting, showcase their inventive approach to baking.
The line is long but it moves relatively quickly! The pastries are delicious and fresh - get the kalamansi and coconut iced bun, this was cheap but delicious, cornbread croissant was savoury but could’ve done with more jalepeno, plum danish was ok, and the everything bagel croissant was delicious! Tastes just like a bagel, but in croissant form so it’s super buttery and flakey. The least favourite was the Jaffa cake, texture was a bit too dense. Would queue again!

Alternative, different, quality, attention to detail, good care of the customer. This bakery has all the good things one wants when going to fetch for comfort and a treat. Has some small tables outside. The savoury pastries were unique and so tasty! Please do not advertise this place anymore! Keep it for the locals, keep it authentic!

Toad Bakery is one of my favourite bakeries in London! There is always a vast selection of bakes on offer. Including a classic line up of croissants, chocolatine, cardamom buns and freshly baked sourdough. Their double chocolate cookie is honestly, pretty perfect. The apple and blackberry custard danish is a match made in heaven. The black sesame and white chocolate pain suisse has an interesting flavour profile, which we all enjoyed. And their cinnamon swirl with maple cream cheese is for sure one of the best swirls we’ve had, super soft and sweet. With an iced, creamy, chocolate milk, to wash it all down! I’d definitely recommend visiting with a friend or two, choosing a selection of bakes and sharing amongst yourselves — as you’ll get to taste more of their offerings without it feeling overindulgent. If you think you can go further, definitely check out their next-door neighbours Café Mondo, for a delicious sandwich. Just a short walk down the road, is Lala Books, where you could pick your latest read. And further ahead, there’s Dash The Henge record store, where you mind find your new favourite band. South London Forever!

This was a very nice pastry, and to be honest they seemed to have tonnes of great options. It was delicious! My only gripe with this place is that the queue was mental - I was in it for 45 minutes. I have no issue with a place being popular but the queue was barely moving which was slightly frustrating.
Ella R — Google review
Miso caramel and pear danish is very delicious 👌 I also tried quince for the first time and it has a very pleasant smell. The custard on that was a but too eggy but it might be one off batch. Will definitely come back to try more
Mert C — Google review
This place is very popular, and I made a mistake by choosing to go on a Saturday morning. The queue was long, but they are fast, so, after 30 minutes, I ordered 1 almond croissant, 1 cinnamon swirl, 1 apple custard danish, 1 double choc chip cookie, 1 pain suisse, 1 apple and cinnamon custard. Everything is delicious, the crunch, the freshness, the moreish custard, the delicate balance they achieved in creating those wonderful pastries, is magical. This is a takeaway bakery, an incredibly good one. The staff is courteous and nice. There is very limited outside seating, and no seats inside at all, so bear this in mind. I do not live in Peckham any longer, but this place is worth the journey. I am a dessert person, but they do savoury creations too( I saw a porchetta swirl that looked wonderful, so, in case you prefer salty, your tastebuds will probably be as happy as mine were when i tasted these magnificent pastries.
Sergio V — Google review
Super long wait but well worth it- bakery items are so interesting and delicious! Their cinnamon rolls are unbeatable- soft, pillowy, perfect amount of cream cheese frosting! Can’t go wrong. (Everything else was also amazing!)
Shaara A — Google review
Went there at 8.30. There was small queue and it moved fast. The lady serving at the front had excellent personality. Tried the everything bagel croissant and the cornbread croissant. Everything bagel croissant- the pastry itself was LUSH! However, imo the filling seemed a bit bitter. Might be because of the dill? But it was still pretty good. I'd recommend sharing it as it's really quite filling. Cornbread croissant- filling was nice, and creamy. Loved it. Again suitable for 2 people.

Crumbs & Doilies is a delightful bakery located in the heart of Soho, known for its wide variety of flavors and gooey, chunky cookies. Run by Jemma Wilson, famous for her Cupcake Jemma YouTube channel, this spot offers imaginative birthday cakes and oh-so-gorgeous cupcakes. The bakery also bakes wackily flavored brownies and multi-tiered cakes.
Visited Crumbs and Dollie’s for the first time on Monday and absolutely had to give a 5-star review! I had the Red Velvet Cookie, and honestly, it’s the best cookie I’ve ever tasted. We also tried the Bourbon Cupcake and Sticky Toffee Cupcake, both of which were delicious, light, and airy. Everything was incredible! We’re from out of the area, but we’ll definitely be coming back, highly recommend! Fingers crossed they open branches in the West Midlands!

We stopped by Crumbs and Doilies on a Friday around 2:30 PM and there was no line. We tried a mocha, chocolate biscoff cupcake, red velvet cupcakes (mini,) and chocolate chip cookie. I thought the cupcakes were good and I like they had full size and mini cupcakes. However, I didn't think they weren't anything extra special. I really liked the chocolate chip cookie though - it was nice and thick and the chocolate chips we're still gooey. There is a tiny bit of seating inside and outside. I would visit for the cookies.

Visited Crumbs &Doilies today to try their cookies. Had a biscoff cookie and a mini red velvet cookie. They were nice cookies but for the price didn't find it anything special. Was expecting more, specially the biscoff cookie. It was good to try at least once, but wouldn't rush to come back as didn't find it memorable
Rita J — Google review
The bakery itself is very pretty, and the cupcakes and other treats are beautifully presented. I ordered six cookies. Two s’mores, one pumpkin, one birthday cake, one Bueno, and one Biscoff, along with two cornflake brownies and two s’mores brownies. Everything looked great and very tempting. Taste-wise, however, it was a different story. The standout item was the Biscoff cookie -light, flaky, and delicious. The other cookies were fine but quite basic, nothing special. The s’mores brownie wasn’t great; the best part was the marshmallow on top. The cornflake brownie, which I’d heard great things about, didn’t impress me either. Overall, the place certainly looks the part, but the products lack a real wow factor. I’m glad I tried it since it’s been on my London sweet list for a while, but I wouldn’t return or recommend it. Also, the staff member serving me didn’t seem very happy. A little friendliness and enthusiasm goes a long way.

I ordered the coffee walnut cake for my husband’s birthday yesterday and was a bit disappointed with my experience. I paid for the 10am-2pm delivery window and it did not arrive until 4pm. When it did arrive, the icing was damaged a bit in transit. Would have been willing to let this all go if the cake was excellent but we found it to be just okay. It was beautiful and the actual cake layers were decent (albeit a little dry) but the icing was a let down. It tasted quite artificial and had a marshmallow like texture we did not love. The happy birthday candles I was able to add to the purchase were nice though!

I've bought cupcakes from Crumbs & Doilies each time I've visited London over the past couple years, mostly out of fondness for having loved Cupcake Jemma's channel back in the day. However, I've come to accept that C&D's cupcakes aren't particularly great, and the service provided by their staff has felt cold and a bit dismissive in every short interaction. Sometimes they have fun/unique cupcake flavours, but other weeks they're fairly standard. They're pretty sweet, and the cake itself is a little small & dry, and they compensate by layering on the frosting, which is where most of the flavouring is. The staff each time also seemed to be more interested in chatting with each other, and a little irritated when they'd be "interrupted" by a customer (me). And the vibes generally in the shop were just always a little off. So, I'll keep the nostalgia of previously enjoying Jemma's upbeat and educational baking videos, but in my opinion the C&D shop doesn't reflect the same warmth or quality, so I unfortunately don't have any reason to be returning.

Had a trip to London for my 60th birthday on 27 August 2025, as a surprise my hubby took me to Crumbs and Dollies, I had the delicious Red Velvet cupcake and hubby had the Pistachio and Raspberry Blondie, both so delicious. The ladies in the shop were all very friendly, warm and welcoming. Hubby also bought me a copy of the Crumbs and Dollies book as a birthday gift, cant wait to start baking. Sadly did not get to see Gemma but hopefully she might be there on my next visit, she is always my inspiration when I Im looking to make cupcakes, which are always been a big hit with everyone.
Laura M — Google review
Very cute and cakes are pretty but too sugary for my taste, coffee was not good and overpriced - if you are a coffee connoisseur this isn’t for you. Overall, more of a takeaway option not somewhere to sit and have coffee and cakes when out shopping. It’s a small shop and only has 4 stools even though there’s space for a few more. Otherwise you have to stand or sit on a bench outside - not a great option on a cold day. I probably wouldn’t make an effort to return but it seems a popular choice with tourists and shoppers, so if you are not bothered about the quality of your coffee and happy to eat your cake while you wander around Soho might be a good place to visit.

Absolutely fantastic cake and fantastic and helpful service! I had ordered a cake from another bakery that arrived messed up and with the wrong inscription. And had to get another one for my partners birthday, so I came to Konditor. They were able to get me the loveliest carrot cake with a beautiful inscription last minute to save my partners birthday. I was so happy with how this turned out that I want to thank the staff that helped me personally. Massive thanks to Jamey, Tasha and Em for saving the day! The cake looked incredible, and the taste was even better! ♥️ (Ps I smushed the cake in transport slightly, it looked even better when I got it from the bakery :) )

I work locally to the store and this place is a sweet haven for me. The salted caramel brownie has me in a chokehold! I always buy one to enjoy on my day off, but it never makes the journey home lol. It’s soooo good! The staff are so lovely and kind, and I’ve enjoyed so many conversations with them which always makes my day a little brighter. The brownies and cake slices are so delicious, I often gift them to friends. They also make really good coffee and great quality matcha which pairs lovely with their sweet treats. Finally, their mince pies are hands down THE BEST I have ever tried. I look forward to them every Christmas. Thank you to all the team, and see you soon! Xx

Had a very disappointing experience with an order I made The inscription on the cake was not neat, which was disappointing as I was collecting the cake for a sensitive & special occasion The staff in store understood were understanding and offered another cake with no inscription as a gesture of good will without taking additional money When I called the main line to explain this and request a refund, marcela called the team in store to get confirmation and decided to override the decision made in store re the gesture and went on to refund for the inscription It was insulting as she continued to emphasis that I had misunderstood the team whilst in store, which is untrue Are just has no idea as to why they were willing to do above and beyond in this instance given the sensitive information I had shared The service in this instance was beyond disappointing and as a customer I shouldn’t be told I lack comprehension skills and giving conflicting evidence all because someone in head office doesn’t agree with service which has been provided in store I will return the cake and not return to their store again,

The server was very rude: she insulted me severely for asking where to throw away the paper. The next day, the manager refused to serve me coffee. The place is nice, the food is good, but they should be more careful when hiring staff who don't respect customers. It lowers the standard of the bakery, and it's a disgrace to treat tourists this way.

Chestnut Bakery, located in Covent Garden, is a popular spot with long queues for good reason. The bakery offers an array of beautifully crafted and flavorful baked goods, including stuffed croissants, chewy caramel cookies, and vanilla buns - all freshly made each morning. Visitors rave about the pistachio and raspberry croissant as well as the cinnamon sticky bun with its refreshing lemony icing. The bakery's almond croissant has been hailed as the best in London by many patrons.
I had an incredible experience at Chestnut Bakery on Floral Street London! The pastrami sandwich was absolutely delicious — perfectly balanced flavours and so satisfying — and the pistachio cake was out of this world, all topped with a delicious mocha. A special shoutout to Obay, who was super friendly and helpful in recommending what to try. Everything from the food to the service was excellent. I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for amazing food and a great atmosphere! Will definitely come back soon with friends! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Wonderful assortment of pastries but the ones we ordered were just alright, nothing mindblowing. A little too sweet for our liking. Soft serve with honey toast was an interesting offer that we don’t see many in other cafes/bakeries so it was lovely. Wanted the vanilla flavour soft serve but it was sold out so I had the chocolate one which was decent. The honey toast that came with it was a little too sweet and dry though. It’s a lovely place with great vibes for a coffee with a friend, to rest your legs after some shopping in central London but not specifically be there for the baked goods. Menu offers breakfast/brunch type of food I have yet to try but I’ll probably skip that. Staff were extremely helpful and kind though. Made us feel really welcomed despite being so busy.

Chestnut Bakery in Covent Garden has quickly become one of my favorite spots in London for pastries and coffee. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with a modern yet cozy design that makes it perfect for a relaxed break during a busy day in the city. The staff are friendly, which adds to the overall experience and makes you feel at home even in the middle of a busy area like Covent Garden. The highlight for me is definitely their tiramisu Danish. It’s unlike anything I’ve tried before. It feels indulgent without being overly sweet, and it’s the kind of pastry you’ll think about long after you’ve left. I honestly would come back just for that one item. They also offer a wide selection of baked goods, The coffee is consistently good too, which makes it a perfect pairing with any pastry. I also appreciate that everything feels fresh, and the presentation of the pastries makes it hard to choose just one. The place is great whether you want to sit inside and enjoy the calm atmosphere or grab something to take away while exploring Covent Garden. What’s exciting is that Chestnut Bakery also has another branch in Riyadh, so it’s great to see them bringing their unique style and quality to different parts of the world. If you’re in Covent Garden and looking for a bakery that goes beyond the usual, I highly recommend Chestnut Bakery.

We sat upstairs right by the window with the scenic view of the street. The pastries were each made to be a perfect image of itself. The labneh cherry tomato toasty was the best savory breakfast sandwich you can ask for to be balanced with the sweetness of the blueberry tart - which is easy to miss, but not in Chestnut - every bite you get fresh blueberries and never a jammy sticking to your teeth goo, but a wonderful creamy filling encased by the more exquisite laminated dough. Not one miss!

Came in just before 6. There wasn’t any seating downstairs expect a small table near the entrance which we had to sit there was four of us. Even though the cafe was open we was told upstairs seating was closed. Wanted the Karak tea which wasn’t available, either was the brookie. Ordered two scoops of ice cream which I asked for choc. Then I see one of the guys giving vanilla asked the lady that was serving me that I asked for choc which she said there wasn’t any available even though she took my order. She wasn’t paying attention as she kept repeating my order. As we sat with our hot choc and the basic vanilla ice cream. We can see the bins getting taken out, everything getting cleared up. There was still people coming in. Considering we were in convent garden and you pay more than average I don’t expect to see huge bins going past me multiple times, aswell everything getting cleared up. The cafe is open and should accommodate accordingly during the opening hours. Won’t be coming in a hurry anytime soon.

Place was quite crowded and felt a bit smell on the first floor. I tried their panini sandwich — the portion size was generous, but it was quite oily. The coffee was fine.

Loved the decor inside and we were there on a busy Saturday morning but staff were always attentive and available. I was a bit sceptical when I noticed the items on the menu had some middle eastern inspired ingredients since they're flavours I've grown up eating therefore I had high expectations. Chestnut Bakery not only met my expectations but they exceeded it! I loved the labneh and tomato toast and the baked eggs with sundried tomatoes. Definitely coming back

My boyfriend and I found Chestnut Bakery on Sunday. We queued for about 2–3 minutes, and once inside, we had to wait a little to be served since it was quite busy upstairs. However, once we ordered, everything arrived at the perfect time. The cappuccino was exactly how I like it (less than £4 a really good coffee compared to the usual high street ones), and the sticky cinnamon roll was perfect, with just the right amount of sweetness in the cream. I couldn’t stop thinking about it, so my boyfriend went back today just to get it for me… that’s how good it was

The Berkeley is a luxurious hotel known for its top-notch restaurants, elegant spa, and renowned afternoon tea. It is considered one of the most prestigious five-star stays in London, blending classic hospitality with modern touches. The hotel's sleek design by architect Richard Rogers leads guests to the Blue Bar or cozy Berkeley Bar with hand-painted murals. The bright cafe offers a popular afternoon tea experience.
During my recent stay, Daniela at the front desk provided a level of service that far exceeded my expectations and truly elevated my experience. I encountered an unexpected wardrobe malfunction as I was preparing to leave for a formal gala we had traveled from the U.S. to attend— the zipper of my gown broke completely. In a moment of panic, I called the front desk to inquire if a seamstress might be available. Unfortunately, it was after hours, and the seamstress had already left for the day. However, Daniela, who answered my call, went out of her way to assist me personally. Although she modestly mentioned having only minimal sewing experience, she immediately came to our room with sewing tools in hand. She took the dress downstairs, managed to repair the broken zipper herself, and returned with the gown—literally sewing me into it to ensure I could attend the event. Her calm, professional, and compassionate demeanor turned what could have been a ruined evening into a memorable and positive experience. As someone who works in the hospitality industry and has traveled extensively, I was genuinely moved by Daniela’s dedication. She not only solved an urgent issue with grace and creativity, but also followed up the next day to check in and ensure everything went smoothly at the gala—despite it being an off-property event. Daniela demonstrated a rare level of attentiveness, kindness, and above-and-beyond service that truly sets a standard. She is a tremendous asset to your team and an embodiment of hospitality at its finest.

I have been staying here for decades. It always feels like coming home! Service and genuine care is excellent. Location is perfect. Church view rooms offer the best natural light. Upgrades and improvements are always made. Some components in the room were not operating as they should. They now co share a gym, spa, indoor pool with Emory. Children hours for the pool are not enforced, two days in a row.

Well located classic five star London hotel. One of the very few London hotels with a rooftop pool. One of the best hotel breakfasts in town and my favourite spot for a martini. Also hosts Cedric Grilot which is worth a visit. Rooms are a bit plain and corporate but very comfortable

Superb and Faultless. I loved the fact that the staff made us feel like their own extended family. The staff went out of their way to look after us. A special thank you to Andrea at concierge reception desk. My wife and I stayed at the hotel to celebrate our baby son's one year old birthday. I am pleased to say that we had a memorable and personalised experience. The actual location is prime. Very good if you are a tourist in London for the first time.

My partner and I stayed at The Berkeley and were absolutely delighted. The level of care and attention from the staff was beyond anything we’ve experienced before – everyone was friendly, professional, and always ready to help with a smile. The rooms are elegant, bright, and wonderfully spacious, with perfect climate control that made our stay incredibly comfortable. They’re ideal for relaxing after a day exploring London. The spa is truly outstanding, offering a world-class experience of pure relaxation. An exceptional hotel in every way – we’ll definitely be back!

My friend was visiting from New York and I wanted to do something a little special for her. The Berkeley Café did not disappoint. The service was excellent from the moment I arrived, the doorman was prompt and courteous from the second I got out of my taxi, the lady on the front desk was welcoming and friendly and helped me find the Café. Once seated, the entire tea was a superb experience and I’d like to give a special shout-out to all the hosts who served us on the day. The food and beverages were interesting and imaginative — and above all, delicious. The atmosphere was indulgent and opulent but never made the mistake of taking itself too seriously. TLDR, for the benefit of my American readers (and translated from the original much too-wordy English original): swanky but not stuffy — you can do the full Cleveland, if you want and if you must — although be prepared to take a beating in the old wallet.

Layla Bakery, located in Ladbroke Grove, West London, has quickly become a beloved neighborhood spot since its opening in March 2021. The bakery is known for its welcoming atmosphere and dedication to tradition. It offers a delightful range of baked goods made with seasonal ingredients and heritage grains, including pastries, sandwiches, and bread.
One of the best croissants in London, if not the best. There's always the stress of getting a seating:( but the pastries are worth it. That's why we keep going back. Also, I want to know if the coffees are in standard amount here because they seem a bit small.

Delicious pastries and beautiful croissant lamination. Highly recommend if in the area even if there is a wait. It is a bit chaotic, hard to find a seat and not amazingly welcoming but makes sense given the popularity and tourist quantity.

I stopped by this bakery and tried the plain, almond, and pistachio dark chocolate croissants along with a coffee — and everything was so good! The croissants were perfectly flaky and buttery, with just the right balance of sweetness. The coffee paired perfectly with the pastries and really rounded out the experience. Overall, a fantastic spot for anyone who loves high-quality pastries. I’ll definitely be coming back!
Sweata P — Google review
One of the best bakery in the London. Their pastries are awsome. Pastries look and taste very good. I tried pistachio-dark chocolate pain souse and blackberry-almond danish. It was great. The dough was crispy, taste was balanced, not to sweet. Coffee was also good. In the future could be there some cozy sitting place inside. I sat outside. It was ok, hovewer inside place could be better. On the weekend they serve pastries only to the box and coffee to the paper cups. I prefer cup and plate. Also there was long queue. It is better to visit bakery early. Service was very nice and helpful and they talked with me. I am looking forward to next visit in the future.

I usually go early when they’ve got the full range of pastries to choose from. The peach tart was amazing — pictures don’t do it justice! The staff were so lovely too, especially the pastry makers in the little shop opposite the main café.

We had a pain au chocolat and another one, 2 hours before closing and everything was cold and old, we asked to heat it but they dont do that. I’ll give the benefit of the doubt, maybe you have to go early, but then again if you are selling until 4pm it should taste as good as early in the morning.

Jolene Redchurch Street is a charming bakery nestled in Shoreditch, offering an array of delectable pastries and baked goods. From morning treats like croissants and pain au chocolat to savory options such as sausage rolls and sandwiches for lunch, this cozy spot has something for everyone. In addition to their tempting cakes and sourdough bread, they also serve top-notch coffee all day long.
Delicious fresh pastries, great drinks, amazing vibes. Went to Jolene for breakfast, tried several pastries and was not disappointed. Particularly liked the rhubarb pastry, very tasty with a perfect balance of acidity and sweetness. Among the savory pastries my favorite was the sausage roll but everything was excellent tbh. Their hot chocolate is the best I’ve had in a long time, reminded me of how my mom used to make it, delicious, very chocolaty and not too sweet. The atmosphere is very nice, was there on a Thursday so it wasn’t busy and was able to sit on the bench outside. To conclude, worth the hype, worth the price, go there during the week, try the rhubarb pastry.

Memorable. It was a tough choice, but I went with the coffee & cacao bun, and I’m so glad I did. Flaky on the outside, with a soft, layered pull inside, like a cross between a croissant and a brioche. Not doughy like babka, with just the right amount of chew and buttery stretch. Light enough to keep you coming back for more. I finished it in minutes. No regrets.
Joei C — Google review
Jolene offers a great selection of pastries with well-made coffee to match (unfortunately only had soy or almond milk as alternatives). Also tried; 🥐Ham and cheese croissant - was flaky and elevated by a nice touch of mustard. 🥐 Pain au chocolat - was enjoyable, though the chocolate could have been more evenly distributed.

Small little pastry and bread shop with benches outside. No indoor seating. Much smaller than the one at Stoke Newington but equally good pastries! Love their pain au chocolat! Crispy fresh layers of buttery goodness! Coffee is also excellent! Rich nutty flavour with no extra charge for alternative milks! A little pricey but you get what you pay for.

Finally made my way a Jolene after wanting to visit for months! The location is beautiful, and the shop itself cute and tiny! I ventured there for the sticky toffee pudding cake which I had heard good things about online, and was lucky they were still in stock at about 12pm on a Friday, as they seemed out of most other things! The staff were friendly and I quite like the concept of being able to pick your own slice/item. Now let me tell you, this is one of the nicest cakes I have ever had. I am an avid sticky toffee lover, and this cake captured the vibe very well! The sponge is incredibly moist with a lovely caramel and date flavour and scent. The frosting - oh my, I have no I idea how they get it so smooth, and again, an amazing toffee flavour! While quite pricey, this is standard for London, and I shall definitely venture back to Jolene to try some of their other offerings! Update June 2024 - I have visited Jolene twice since this fiest occasion. Both times I chose two different cakes that were on the counter on the day (it is impossible to know in advance what may be there!). I got the Boston Cream Pie and Coconut Raspberry Layer Cake. Both these cakes have been absolutely exceptional. The service has also always been warm and welcoming. I will most definitely keep on coming back and recommend to anyone after a good slice of cake!

Flavourtown Bakery is a delightful gem located in Fulham and Richmond, known for its mouthwatering cakes and cupcakes that are sure to satisfy any sweet tooth. Their Instagram page is a feast for the eyes, showcasing tempting treats like Mars Bar brownies and chunky NY-style cookies.
We had the best time at the fulham bakery “ Cee” the waiter helped us with with making a decision and made sure we get the best choices. The red velvet is the best red velvet I have ever tasted! It is moist the cream cheese frosting was beautiful and balanced the cake perfectly! And not to mention the alice in wonderland the cheesecake element brought it to life! Listen to me and get the red velvet cupcake.

I had an extremely disappointing experience last week with Flavourtown. I have ordered from them before and was so impressed I decided to order my brother a birthday cake, as he is gluten free and from previously trying these cakes I thought it would be a treat. The cake was so stale not a single person finished their slice. It looked very impressive and was iced beautifully but was quite literally inedible and the whole thing went in the bin. I received the cake on Friday and emailed the company with pictures on Sunday but their response on Monday was that I had missed the 24 hr window to complain about the cake and they deemed it up to standard. It was so disappointing as the cakes are expensive and meant to be such a treat but was quite the opposite. I wouldn’t order again and would encourage others to look elsewhere before they do too.

I order from flavour town every year for my mums and daughters birthday even my own. My daughters birthday cake I collected at 10 am from Fulham road store. It was very busy there was cake boxes everywhere. The cake looked spectacular as always. However when I began to cut the cake I realise that the raspberry filling was so thick and dense and everyone commented on how it tasted in a negative way. The texture of the raspberry filling wasn’t very pleasant, there was to much raspberry filling added and it created like a thick wet slimy sponge as well. The cake looked fabulous but you get a cake to eat it. The birthday girl was disappointed to say the least . Never had this experience with flavour town normally you guys smash it😢. I put a photo of how it’s supposed to look

Let me say that I was sceptical about Flavourtown Bakery. From placing my order to delivery they were exceptional. I screwed up and placed the order for collection instead of delivery so contacted their customer care, was sorted super fast and I spoke to a nice girl called Bell. The Red Velvet cake was the best we’ve ever had. Will be back to order again.

The MOST delicious cakes and cupcakes!! If you want a special occasion cake then this is the place to go...I've had several of their rainbow cakes and they are divine! The cupcakes are to die for and the range of flavours are fantastic! They also have fab vegan cupcakes and gluten free brownies on offer which, i've been told, are delicous! I cant recommend enough...and did I mention they deliver?!?! The coffee they serve is really nice...obviously no seating inside at present and all COVID regulations in place but the shop is gorgeous and you WILL take a photo! Last time I was there I had the espresso martini cupcake...up there with the best yet. I live within walking distance...lucky for me, unlucky for my waistline!!

I should begin by saying that St John is a very important institution, and that this little corner in Niels Yard is a superb addition to it. The service and food were just impeccable, and my whole meal was made all the more enjoyable by one of the loveliest waitresses I’ve ever met. I wish her and the whole team the best of luck, and I’ll be sure to visit again promptly.

The raspberry jam doughnut was good. The doughnut itself was light and fluffy with a good coating of sugar, and with proper seeded raspberry jam inside. The best doughnuts I’ve had? I’m not sure, but worth trying if you are nearby. This bakery also sells bread, croissants and wine. They also offered Hot Cross Bun doughnuts and Hot Cross Buns when we visited just before Easter too.

Average donut. I wanted to love it since we love St John restaurant. I finally decided to give it go on Sunday morning right after they opened so the doughnuts were super fresh, which didn't feel was the case. It was soft, but not super soft, the vanilla custard was nice not overly sweet. I think the price is the usual for London, I would pay ½ the price. I've certainly had better. I don't think I will go back, but for once it was nice. Service, was decent, St John could definitely pay a little more attention to their staff here as there is room for improvement.

If you’re a fan of doughnuts, St. John Bakery is an absolute must-try. These aren’t your average pastries—Michelin star doughnuts that are on a whole different level. 🍩 What we had: • A selection of their signature doughnuts Each one was light, fluffy, and perfectly glazed—the kind of treat that feels indulgent but balanced. They’ve absolutely nailed the texture and sweetness. No fillings dripping down your hand—just clean, satisfying bites full of flavor. 📝 What I liked? Everything. The quality is undeniable, and the doughnuts speak for themselves. Great service, clean layout, and consistent excellence. 👎 What I didn’t like? Honestly—nothing to fault here. ✅ Would I go back? Without hesitation. It lives up to the hype and then some. A must for any pastry lover. 🔍 Note: This is one of the rare cases where a first visit earns a perfect score. Top marks across the board. Luminary Bakery is not just a place for delectable cakes, but also a social enterprise that supports underprivileged women by providing them with training and employment opportunities. The bakery has cafes in Hackney and Camden, offering a delightful selection of birthday cakes such as lemon and blueberry, almond cherry chocolate, and orange cardamom pistachio. Customers have praised the incredible flavors of their wedding cakes and the positive feedback received from friends. Additionally, they offer vegan and gluten-free options.
Even with an email mishap (technology sometimes 🤷‍♀️) and a particular busy week for them, the team at Luminary Bakery were able to fulfill our order - - amazing work! The cookies were a hit with the team with one of our bosses saying it was the best 🍪 he has ever eaten! And well done for the fabulous social work you do - thank you 🤍

Bought 3 lovely clebration cakes from Luminary after trying their wedding taster cup cakes. After trying out a couple of supplier these were my favourites. I went for the Carrot Cake, Chocolate and Hazelnut and Salted Caramel. They were all delicious - moist and really tasty! My only slight complaint was their serving size suggestions. They said 14-20 people per cake for the size I ordered, so I got 3 birthday cakes for a party of around 75 people and was worried it wouldn't be enough... I needn't have worried at all! One cake did the entire party!!! So If you just want to give people a small taster slice for a party/wedding or an event, you won't need 3 cakes for 70 people!

I ordered a lemon and blueberry wedding cake from Luminary Bakery after ordering the taster set. I don't think the taster cupcake did justice to how amazing this cake is when you get a full cake :) It was just one of the most delicious moist and tasty cakes I have ever had (and I pride myself on eating alot of cake)! Whilst I was gutted that at the wedding everyone had eaten so much they couldn't eat all the cake , it was still fabulous and so fresh the next day. I ended up giving out slices at our brunch the day after the wedding for people to eat on their trains home and it got rave reviews! This bride and groom may have also had it for breakfast two days in a row and I wish I could start my day with that cake for the rest of our married life :) Thank you so much Luminary for what you do, not only are you an amazing business who are really trying to do something good for so many women ,you are also baking the most beautiful delicious cakes! The cake was a definite highlight of our wedding -thank you so much!

The elegant atmosphere makes it perfect for a date night or a gathering with friends.
Yes, it was delicious but it was more than that. The interior was fun right off the bat - pastries and salad items on display in front, a single round white table in the back for 6 or so. Order one main dish (hot or cold) and two salads. A riot of differing ingredients that somehow all worked wonderfully together. It was like being invited to a friend’s country home who also happened to be a world-class chef.

The food was good - some dishes were better than others of course, but I love the complexity and interesting combination of flavors. I've no idea why anyone would complain of small portions. My friend and I each ordered a main with 2-3 salads. Each portion was sufficient to generous. We also each ordered a dessert and coffee. Each dessert was fantastic. Really lovely crumb and great flavors for my cake. The seating was limited but we managed a seat inaide at the community table. The people we sat beside were lovely. We had wonderful conversation. The service was friendly and attentive. When I recognized the name of a chef, our server had him come out to meet us. It was an embarrassing fangirl moment, but I very much appreciated the thoughtfulness and time dedicated to us. We had a great meal and a truly memorable experience; it was a highlight of my trip to London.

What can I say, Ottolenghi is just fantastic. Top quality baked goods and beautiful fresh salads. This time we bought 3 cookies and 2 cakes and all of them were outstanding. Perfectly baked and superb flavours. 100% worth the money.
Richard C — Google review
Everything I had was so delicious, well prepared, and had so much intentional flavor. Ottolenghi does it again. The Shakshuka was rich and packed with spice and complexity. The baked treats are vast and too many to just pick one, but if the three I had they were flawless. The table for 10 people in the back is cozy, first come first serve and is usually packed. No toilet so keep that in mind if you sit for a couple cups of coffee. The atmosphere and staff are warm and welcoming. It is a great stop and go or if you are lucky and can get a seat grab it for a truly wonderful experience.

Beautiful take-away shop with a little communal table at the back. Highly seasonal, daily-changing menu. Delicious mains and great selection of salads from the counter. A true gem. No customer toilets.
Yaron A — Google review
Great place with kind staff and tasty food. The food comes out very quickly. The shakshuka is excellent and comes with a unique smoky taste. Only down side is that there's only 1 table inside and no bathroom, so it's less ideal for sitting.
Eli A — Google review
Ottolenghi is a trendy delicatessen located on Motcomb Street in Knightsbridge that serves Mediterranean cuisine. Yotam Ottolenghi, the author of 3 bestselling cookbooks has 3 other delis in London as well as a restaurant. As I arrived, the place was very busy. With just one shared table at the back full of people having lunch I decided to have a take away salad box. With an array of beautiful salads and cakes in front of me, it was a real feast for the eyes. I opted for the Roasted Aubergine with Saffron Yoghurt, Walnuts, Pomegranate and Basil as well as the Green Beans with Hazelnuts, Orange and Taragon. The salads were well flavoured, tasty and of good quality for a salad on the go. They also had a selection of mains to choose from including beef, salmon, tuna, turkey and chicken. I felt that this place has been way over hyped. The salads are very decent but not mouth watering. However, staff are professional and very efficient. Take away salads are priced by weight at 100g. Prices are on the high side. You could go home feeling hungry.

Lovely food, and the deserts are amazing if you know what to pick! Chocolate and hazelnut brownie was great, halva and caramel slice was good too - spiced caramel with a light shortbread-like base. The baked chocolate tart with tahini and sesame brittle was an unexpectedly harmonious marriage of flavours, and delicious as well.

Fabrique Bakery, a Swedish-inspired bakery with multiple locations across London, including Covent Garden, is known for its artisanal stone oven-baked sourdough bread and delectable cinnamon rolls. The bakery prides itself on traditional baking methods and natural ingredients. While some find the buns a bit dry for their liking, many rave about the unique and unforgettable experience offered by Fabrique Bakery.
Incredible must try cinnamon buns (I ordered a second after demolishing the first)! Great coffee served in with 5 small tables inside. Beautifully rustic feel, feels very European. A must visit.
Kim T — Google review
This chain cafe is located on Shaftesbury Avenue, near Covent Garden, about a 10mins walk from the underground station, making it very easy to find. The cafe is small and mainly sells various buns and breads. The two staff members were friendly. We ordered a Walnut Bun, a Cinnamon Bun, and a Latte. Unfortunately, both the food and coffee were very average. I probably won’t be returning next time.
SY K — Google review
Fabrique is such a charming bakery! We tried the cardamom bun which was deliciously fragrant, though a touch dense and enjoyed it with a coffee. Can’t wait to come back and try their famous cinnamon bun, which we’ve heard amazing things about!
Aditya H — Google review
Lovely bakery, there’s a few around town. The have ~12 items daily -aside from loafs-, so ordering is easy and each item is crafted to perfection, the sourdough bread is delightful, the sweet goods very good too. Very limited seating with about 5 2 seater tables.
Carlos L — Google review
The almond bun was fine but a bit too sweet to me, and the almond was not as pronounced as I would have liked it to be. It was also cold and did not taste super fresh. Note that even the almond bun was based on the classic one so had a lot of cardamom. Overall on top of buns this bakery has bread / baguettes and some sweet options too, as well as croissants
Alexey S — Google review
We had the cardamon bun. İt was divine. We bought a rye bread with seeds. We wanted them to slice the bread, they said no. They wouldn't give us a knife to cut it. We sat down there have a coffee and tried to break the bread, made a mess of it. İ find these UK rules around knives a little funny. We have been serviced by someone who doesn't smile, like at all. She even didn't have the common courtesy of doing it. The place looked clean but felt like you are not welcome there.
Gulum O — Google review
Wanted to try out this rustic looking quaint bakery at Covent Garden. Tried a Hot chocolate which I would rate 3/5. Nothing special. The Cinnamon bun was cold, dense and nowhere near the quality or taste you get in other London Bakeries. The aesthetics is nice but service, I am afraid I cannot recommend.
Rajarshi B — Google review
It was literally the worst cappuccino I had recently. Prices for coffee were nowhere near available to see. I was charged £3.80 for a small cup, which is expensive even for Covent Garden area. Service was "excellent", haven't felt welcome at all, nothing was said by any of two girls behind the till. Definitely do not recommend.

Arôme Bakery - Mercer Street is a charming bakery in Covent Garden that offers a unique blend of French and Asian flavors in their pastries. Co-founded by French pastry chef Alix Andre and Singaporean restaurateur Ellen Chew, this bakery presents an intriguing fusion of Eastern and Western influences.
Great bakery and awsome pastries. Apple miso danish was wonderful, crispy dough and balanced taste. Also cappuccino and hojicha latte were very good. Honey toast wasn't to good as I expected, but not bad. It was too dry for me. Some cream with toast will be better. Nice, cozy atmosphere with asia influence. Very nice and helpful services. I am glad for recomendation and talk. Their another savoury and sweet pastries looks also interesting.

The best chocolate almond croissant I’ve ever had — truly unforgettable. Arome is one of the best bakeries in London, known for its signature pastries like the honey butter toast (which I haven’t tried yet), but I did have the miso apple danish and the chocolate almond croissant. I’m usually not a big fan of apple desserts, but this danish completely changed my mind. The miso adds a subtle umami flavor, perfectly balancing the sweetness of the apples. Unlike most apple pastries that miss the mark on texture, this one had both crunch and flakiness. Inside, the almond filling added the right amount of nuttiness, making every bite feel harmonious — 10/10. And the croissant… absolutely flawless. Buttery, light, and crisp — I could literally travel to London just to have it again. You can dine in or take away, both options are great. If you have time for only one bakery in London, make it Arome. No hesitation — it’s a must-visit.
FoodiEconomist — Google review
Over hyped … ordered the Honey Butter toast and the Parmesan Nori pastry thingy. I don’t know what I was expecting but it was quite anti climatic in flavour. The crunch of the pastry was good . Honey butter toast was not too sweet which I liked but had this weird honey aftertaste. For the price it’s not worth it.. I have had way better !! The service was meh!! The aesthetic was Beautiful . They need to update their website. Because it said they did the bacon escargot but they had stopped making it
Kemi D — Google review
Got the Arôme Honey Butter Toast and the Tomato Pesto Danish and was surprised at how delicious they both were. The honey butter toast was light, sweet, and crispy. The edges with the caramelized honey was soooo good. The danish was refreshing with the sweet tomatoes and flakey pastry. It was a nice balance to the honey butter toast. The interior was very aesthetically pleasing so it was nice to dine in.
Brandon L — Google review
Their puff pastry items were truly delicious. We tried the plain croissant and the pistachio–chocolate escargot; both were excellent. You can really taste the butter. The escargot was made with dark chocolate, and I think it would be even better if they also offered a milk chocolate option. There are very few tables inside. When we visited, there were separate queues for take-away and dine-in. Since we saw a note recommending take-away due to products selling out quickly, we decided to get ours to go and ate them in front of the shop. I definitely recommend stopping by.
Mert A — Google review
Everything at Arôme is delicious, with crisp and buttery pastries. You absolutely must try the Honey Butter Toast — soft inside, caramelized and crunchy on top. A must-visit! 👏 There is a short wait at busy times, unless you choose takeaway.
Ioanna D — Google review
Sweet heaven! The pastries were buttery and flaky, and were perfectly crispy. We had the honey butter toast (10/10), the tomato pesto danish and the spinach quiche. You can tell everything is made fresh. The kind of place that makes you smile with every bite!
Aaina C — Google review
We queue for more than 45 minutes to get a seat. The croissant was crispy, fluffy and tasty. The homemade butter and jam enhanced the taste further. The pistachio, chocolate, escargot was good too. However, the coffee was average. Another small unpleasant experience was people who queue for takeaway decided to have a sit, spoiling the if enjoyable experience.

Buns From Home is a delightful bakery that originated from a private kitchen during the first lockdown and has since blossomed into a popular spot just off Portobello. The Notting Hill locals flock to this charming establishment, eager to indulge in their signature cinnamon and cardamom buns.
Went to one of these stores to try the buns! There were lots of different flavours to choose from, both savoury and sweet! We tried the raspberry cheesecake bun and it was delicious! Very big and a lot of filling. A bit pricey but not too bad. I’d like to try chocolate or pistachio next! Recommend 5/5
Ananya P — Google review
Had the Dubai chocolate as the Tiramisu had been off the menu the entire season. If you like a lot of cream and bold flavours in a bed of crispy flaky awesomeness, then this for you. I loved it, though this was the larger model and even for a cream fiend this was too much in one seating. More for later. For London, the area,, and the generosity of the filling, this is actually reasonably priced.
Charlotte P — Google review
These are the tastiest buns I have tried. The outside is like a sweet crispy but soft croissant like, and the filling can vary but the chocolate custard bun & dubai chocolate bun are the best. They are very big and filling and I can’t finish in one go, however, they are so worth every penny. Highly recommend this place - 10/10!
San S — Google review
We stopped by Buns From Home while visiting London and it absolutely blew our minds! We tried the vanilla roll and the cheesecake roll — both were insanely delicious. The texture, the flavor, everything was just perfect. One of the best pastry spots we’ve ever been to. Highly recommended!

It was a great first experience at Buns from home -our server Mateo was funny, friendly and very informed about the different products. He explained which flavours might suit our palette which made choosing easy. The buns (cheesecake; chocolate custard; chocolate hazelnut) were devoured with joy.

A local friend recommended their bakes, and I tried their cinnamon bun. It’s decent overall, and I appreciate that it doesn’t come with glazed. While the bun is good, I’m giving it a lower overall rating because the staff isn’t hospitable. This definitely isn’t the best bun I’ve tried.

Super tasty Dubai chocolate bun! Lots of cream cheese filling which worked perfectly with the sweetness of the pistachio sauce. Eat bite was well balance between filling and pastry. A good size too.

The Dubai chocolate bun is AMAZING. The richness of the pistachio, the cream cheese feeling that just adds this softness to the bun and the sweetness of the chocolate is just emasculate. Everyone needs to buy this pronto !!

Jolene Bakery & Restaurant is a trendy establishment located in Stoke Newington, offering a spacious and stylish setting to enjoy delectable comfort food. This eatery, named after the famous Dolly Parton song, is the third venture by chef David Gingell and restaurateur Jeremie Cometto-Lingenheim. The menu at Jolene features an array of options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner along with a selection of natural wines.
I don’t live anywhere near, but Jolene is worth the trip. The seasonal small plates are inventive and beautifully prepared, with fresh flavours and a relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere. Staff are warm and knowledgeable, making it feel like a neighbourhood gem you’re lucky to stumble upon.

Gorgeous and cozy place. Lovely staff. Very attentive. Starters were amazing. We had the truffle scallop and peach/tomato salad. The salad was incredible. The mains were also very good but a bit forgettable. We had the pork saffron tagliatelle and the Dover sole. Dessert was incredible and well thought out. Both the berries diplomat and blood peach soft serve. Drinks menu was nice and had a gorgeous selection. The strawberry rhubarb mocktail was so good. Will definitely come again but probably only for a lot of small plates! Think the food would’ve been a five if we opted for all starters, considering skipping the mains!
Anjali A — Google review
very overpriced for odd combinations of food. we ordered all the recommendations from the staff and was very disappointed with everything. Left hungry and horrible taste palettes. The mushroom dish was essentially two spoonful of mushroom w four slices of spec for £16. The cured grey mullet that was highly recommended by the staff was a really weird combination, extremely fishy taste and the macha does not fair well with it at all. The only dish that didn’t disappoint is really the bread and butter. Overall not worth the visit. You can probably get a Michelin meal with the same amount of money for the horrible food here
Rachel — Google review
A strong choice if you're looking for a buzzy venue for a chatty dinner. The food is inventive, stylish and light. The team is friendly and attentive. It will nevertheless be an expensive dinner - the food is so light that you have to order a lot to avoid going away hungry. It's also extremely loud due to the dense seating and hard surfaces.

Great staff - service was top tier. Casual but friendly and attentive. Loved the starters. Literally wanted to lick the sauce of the plate of the lobster dish (and they brought over extra bread for us to do so). Def will be back but will likely opt for more starters and skip the main as it was just a little too heavy for us after enjoying the first dishes.

Have been meaning to go for a while now. Could not get reservations forever but finally got some very last minute which I was excited about. Commuted 50 minutes. It was a £50 cancellation fee per person. A bit of a let down when it came to the restaurant. I enjoyed the atmosphere of the place. The food wasn’t the best ☹️We started off with only a couple of dishes to see how to go from there. The way the dishes are presented is odd. Apparently every meal ordered is a sharing meal, so they give you small plates depending on how many people you are and only present one dish at a time. We were a group of 4. Off the menu, there are 14 dishes. We were told that usually a group our size orders from 8-16 dishes (assuming you order two of some things) which was a bit overwhelming considering the price points of these dishes and the portions presented. ( Please keep in mind I am constantly reviewing restaurants of different price ranges and evaluating based on what I truly think is worth the cost. This is not a trait where I am being stingy lol) We ended up ordering two starters and three mains. They said we can order more once the food comes out. I guess that’s quite common. Bread and Butter was Great. The Aubergine was fine. Tiny portion considering its sharing. The best dish was the beef ragu but even then it was a bit too oily. I want to reiterate that these portions are very small. I understand that may be why you should order 8-16 dishes but that just seems greedy lol. The Gnocchi was served as flat squares. When asked about the shape, it’s apparently sometimes done that way? Not an issue but found a bit odd. And the sauce on the gnocchi was very bland. We also got the Cod but it was sat on top of green beans cooked in a sort of tomato sauce. Odd combination. The cod was VERY bland. I truly truly did want to like this restaurant but it was disappointing. It was also where I chose to take my cousin who came from abroad so I just had higher expectations. I think I will be back for the bakery opening times because I’ve heard great things.

Kova Patisserie Soho is an upscale Japanese-French patisserie that offers a unique blend of Japanese and French treats, along with organic teas and visually appealing matcha lattes. With its origins in Soho, this patisserie has expanded to other locations in London. One of its signature offerings is the mille crepes, which are multiple layers of French crepes filled with light custard cream in flavors like matcha, chocolate, vanilla, and fruit.
This is a tiny cute shop. They have a variety of cakes and desserts. I really recommend the Matcha Latte! It’s a bit sweet and it’s delicious. The service is good and quick. Prices are a little high but I think it’s worth trying.

The crepe cakes here are delicious! I've sampled a few, and the chocolate mousse is definitely my favorite. While the vanilla and Oreo cookie flavors were tasty, I found them a bit too sweet. The Japanese cheesecake was also a hit. My only minor quibble is that the prices are a bit steep, but the service was good

A small, simple cafe with more or less 15 seats. Had to try matcha mille crepe to balance out their Tiramisu bingsu -- which was not to "tiramisu"-ey, but it's cool to eat anyway. Matcha flavor is good, but doesn't have a strong flavor like the ones you get to try if you've ever been in Japan. Always having our usual take out of chocolate mille crepe which is by far the best in town! 😋 And we go back for it everytime we're in the capital. 😍👌🏻

Absolutely! Here's a more enthusiastic version with emojis: Such a great spot for bubble tea 🧋 and cakes 🍰! The Basque cheesecake was delicious, but the real star for me was the Matcha Tart 🍵—you can really taste that rich, bold matcha flavor! I also had the Matcha Bubble Tea, and the combo was perfect 😋. Adorable cafe, I’d come here to study, light music playing in the background and wasn’t too busy when I went on a Friday. They provide free lemon water too, self serve. The cream bun was very milky and creamy, but could be too much for one person cos the shear amount of cream. I shared it with a friend and that was just right, the bread rolls used tasted quite dry.

When I feel nostalgic of home or I want a nice sweet treat, FORNO is my go to bakery. The Veneziana pastry is my top favourite , paired with the perfect jasmine tea. I tried the Tiramisù which it was ok, the savoiardi should be soaked in a bit more coffee imo, coz I could barely taste it, but the layer of mascarpone is super generous. Yum! I like the general vibe of the place, staffs have always been nice too.
Fedi C — Google review
Good quality bakery yes, fine ingredients. We arrived at 13h and there was almost no more choice in pastries… the hype over the creamy pastry was over made: the whipped cream was a lot and the brioche normal. The lemon custard was a too much cream. At first, our almond croissant was super dry, but thankfully the staff kindly exchanged it for some of the freshly newly baked ones and these were very warm and buttery! Don’t get me wrong: good bakery, but just not the best and missing a range of selection… Maybe italian pastries are just not my favs personally?

I found the place on Google on my walk at Primrose Hill. There is no price list anywhere about the cupcakes, bit weird. I decided to try the snickers one. Chocolate cupcake filled generously with caramel, peanut butter flavoured buttercream and a 1/3 snickers bar. I was actually happy with my cupcake and it has exceeded my expectations. 4* because It would be lovely to sit down other than the outside table in 2°C. It would have been lovely not to freeze my hand while trying to have a bite outside. I also bought a hot chocolate I didn't like that much.

We’ve been buying cakes from Anges de Sucre for several years and this year decided to commission a personalised cake for the very special occasion of my daughter’s first birthday. We paid £350 for an 8” lemon sponge with buttercream, with a “Miffy” cake topper and provided two pictures of Miffy for reference. Unfortunately the cake topper was of very poor quality and likeness to the Miffy. As seen in the pictures: 1) the white icing was covered in several black spots where care was not taken to avoid cross contaminating colours, 2) the basic facial features were messy and the eyes were too close together, 3) the icing hadn’t been smoothed to cover join lines, 4) toothpicks were clearly visible, and 5) too much icing was used for the body so it looked too fat. It was a massive surprise and huge disappointment to receive this order given we’ve had a great experience over the years, though this was our first year buying a personalised cake. I’m genuinely shocked it was made so poorly given the great examples on the website (eg Paddington Bear). Luckily my mother-in-law managed to re-model the topper to look much, much better (eg taking care to remove the black spots, removing about 50% of the icing used and adjusting the eyes and mouth to make it more alike to Miffy, smoothing the join lines, hiding the tooth picks). Unfortunately we won’t be ordering from Anges anymore based on this experience. Such a shame.

UPDATED: Perfect cake. Ordered for my 30th and was very happy, best birthday cake I’ve had since a rugrats one on my 7th birthday 😂. Delicious, the SBC( buttercream) defo is tastier at room temp as outlined in the helpful instructions on the lid. Kept well - it was a super hot weekend so I put it in the fridge but it arrived Saturday and I polished off the last of it on Thursday. The sparkler/ topper in the box was a thoughtful addition. Will order again (and again) Updating this review two years later to say I still love the cakes and add photos of this years. I didn’t get great photos because I ate so fast. We had a heat wave again and my flat lacks cool and dry places so I ignored the instructions (which are clearly written on the box!!!) and put it in the fridge - it still tastes great just not as moist. It’s still 100000% better than the chain bakers. I went for one of the more cost friendly options this time. They are still huge! Still worth every penny

My review of Anges de Sucre is about 10 years overdue, that's how long I've been buying these cakes. I first did so in Selfridges, then at the now sadly defunct shop off Ken Church St and finally online, but in all this time Reshmi has simply gone from strength to strength, now offering a simply shocking array of cakes. I'm no pâtissière but, like Nigella, I self-qualify as an expert by virtue of being an eager eater [and thus always reassuringly "a little bit fat" like Bridget Jones] and having had cakes from every man and woman and his and her dog in London [Harrods, Lola, Peggy Porschen, Lili Vanilli, Flavourtown, April's Bakery, Konditor, F&M... and these are just the first that spring to mine], Reshmi consistently blows them out of the water sideways. Note the use of "consistently" which is very important in my book. In simple terms, every time I tried some else's cake I would always end up disappointed on a varying scale, with some of them covered in greasy icing, others only good for 24 hours, and others still progressively drying out down the rainbow layers [how is that even possible?! WHY!]. None of that with a cake from Anges de Sucre who simply seduced me since my first one [and you never forget it, mine was the ghetto riche cake which you can still order] and continues to entice me with many designs that sit the right side of kitsch, where I spend most of my life. I am enclosing some of the cakes I've had over the years but there are plenty more where those came from! Still toying with the possibility of ordering a croque en bouche one of these days... may need to invite 50 random people to my digs or perhaps concentrate and power-through solo.

The coffee cake was absolutely fantastic. It looked brilliant, had the perfect level of coffee flavour in the sponge and the buttercream was light and delicious. The recipient was thrilled. The team were really responsive in dealing with questions before I ordered too. Would recommend.

Bakery
Chatsworth Bakehouse, located in Crystal Palace, is a small batch bakery known for its extraordinary sandwiches and freshly baked focaccia. The bakery's backstory is as remarkable as its baking, with a couple starting a community micro-bakery from their flat during lockdown, which turned into a runaway success and led to the establishment of a bricks-and-mortar location.
Yes, the queue was about 30 minutes but the staff come out and give you tasters as a token of their gratitude for waiting. Additionally the service is incredible, when we get to the front of the queue they thank again for waiting. Their products are to die for, their basque cheesecake, galettes and focaccias are my favourite! Would highly recommend!

Wow! Absolutely amazing! Came here for the first time having been drawn by their Guinness cake and ended up leaving with a few other baked goodies. Wanted to try their pizza/pies being Saturday, but maybe due to heatwave, there was no pizza, but did get a mortedella and mozzerella sarnie in focaccia. That was very tasty. Decent amount of filling, moist focaccia and a good bit of chutney...think may have been apricot and raisins, giving it a good tang. Also bought a Cheddar and Kimchi focaccia, tried a bit of that fresh; pleasantly surprised, it is nice and fluffy. Looking forward to making a nice sarnie from it at home. Although some of the top looks burnt, it isn't actually burnt and actually gives it a nice crust cheesy topping. The Harissa and Feta scone also very worthy of trying. Probably one of the best scones I have had, nice and fresh with a fluffiness to it, unlike hard scones I have had from elsewhere in the past. The harissa and feta really goes well. Can be eaten on its own, no need to add anything to it. Have not tried the coconut pineapple iced finger or cookie yet. The Guinness cake was very moist, not heavy and the cream on top is light tasting, which really complements the cake, which is not too sweet, in fact the right sweetness as I don't like overly sweet stuff. I think they really nailed the taste of the Guinness cake, so will definitely go back for that. Regretted not getting the peach pie, not realising it is limited edition and not a regular item. Queued about 25 minutes to be served, so not too bad. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the two co-owners were there busy baking, but still looked up to give a welcoming greeting. If you love good quality and tasty baked goods, would really recommend you try. One of the best bakeries in SE London.

there was a queue at opening time which is surprising for a weekday (thursday). can’t imagine what it’s like on the weekend. nonetheless all the pastries were delicious - got the feta tomato olive galette, guinness cake, mortadella focaccia sandwich, and creamed corn n’duja bun. all a hit

Amazing freshly baked goods. Been here so many times as I live in the area and always so impressed by how good they are. Everything on the menu is amazing but I’d totally recommend focaccia and Guinness cake. Absolutely beautiful! The only downside is the massive queue especially on a Saturday morning but it’s worth the wait.
June C — Google review
Unfortunately, the porridge oat loaf was far underbaked. Never had a loaf so underbaked before from any bakery, the weight should have been a giveaway. The end pieces that were fine to eat were very tasty, so that’s a positive. Other items were far more successful, in particular the malted milk bun I’d brave the queue for, were it not for the loaves. A bakery that underbakes bread is a no from me (I see it’s been an issue in some other reviews). Edit: appreciate the reply. Did try other methods to contact. I understand things do slip through but can assure it’s from an underbake. Second edit: Apologies if that review comes across as harsh, but it was my first time visiting and I went out of my way by an hour, then queued up for 20 minutes. It was worth it for the other baked goods, but the bread that we bought for dinner was raw. Not just a little under baked, raw dough. My gf had a bite then got stomach ache immediately. Happy to share pics/video - we did message on Instagram but it couldn’t go through. Didn’t realise that you can email in, noted.

Violet's Pizza & Cocktail Bar Soho is a charming establishment that pays homage to the legendary Violet, known as the 'Queen of Soho'. The bakery offers a delightful brunch menu featuring homemade quiche and avocado toast, but its true highlight lies in the delectable cake selection, including cupcakes, scones, brownie slices, and cookies. Renowned for its beautiful and delicious cupcakes as well as homemade jams and preserves, this bakery is truly a special place.
I had an amazing experience with authentic Georgian cuisine! The Adjarian Khachapuri was absolutely delicious – rich, cheesy, and full of flavor. Every dish I tried was prepared with such care and tasted homemade, bringing the real taste of Georgia to the table. If you’re looking for something unique, hearty, and unforgettable, Georgian food is a must-try. Highly recommended!

UPDATE: The owner reached out to me on Instagram to resolve the matter & refunded £5 to me. I appreciate their effort to solve the matter and hope they consider updating their description on Too Good to Go for two of their restaurants so it more accurately reflects what’s offered. basically scammed by them on the ‘Too Good to Go’ app. On the description it says “Freshly prepared ,Pide and Lahmacun (Turkis pizza) served with mix salad.” But what I got was rice, bread, 2 falafel & salad. I went in to the cafe and there were no one, I had to find my way to the restaurant next door and then they told me it is operate by the same person. Very dodgy atmosphere and overall very disappointing experience, from being open to try different food to being deceived. They won’t give you food that is matching their own description or leftover, they will heat up food right away that cost below £4.99 because their business is bad (literally no one in the restaurant) they use this tactic.

We went there for a special family occasion and had an incredible night throughout. The staff welcomes you at the door with a smile and they do everything to make you feel at home. Their food was real authentic and so delicious. Their broad wine list and cocktail menu turn it into a whole experience. We had such unforgettable memories there. Kipferl Restaurant & Patisserie is an all-day Austrian eatery located in a bright and spacious chalet-like space on Camden Passage. This cozy spot brings Viennese coffeehouse culture to Islington, offering hearty Austrian dishes and a fine selection of cakes.
Kipferl is my favourite place in London! I love Vienna, but can’t visit it as often as I’d like, so Kipferl is bringing Wien 🇦🇹 to me! The hosts are very friendly and caring and make you feel at home. I’m crazy about their Esterhazytorte, and I can tell from all my heart, that Kipferl has better Sacher Torte then any place I tried in Austria, including Sacher Hotel, sorry, but that’s the truth. My favourite is Wurst, especially Käsekrainer! But everything there will be delicious. It is like stepping through the portal and finding yourself in Austria. I come here on special occasions and I bring here all my friends, local and visiting. I’m also very happy that they sell lots of local Viennese treats that you can’t find anywhere else outside Austria.

Delicious food in a pleasant environment served by super friendly staff all at a very reasonable price. Authentic Austrian cuisine that took me back to touring the Alps! Thoroughly recommend.
James W — Google review
We visited Kipferl a few weeks ago to fulfil my friend’s wish for an authentic Wiener Schnitzel and a proper slice of Eszterházy cake. As Hungarians from near the Austrian border, the menu felt like a nostalgic trip back to our childhood kitchens. The Wiener Schnitzel did not disappoint – perfectly cooked and served with a potato salad that hit all the right notes. The Eszterházy cake was a standout – beautifully made and truly reminiscent of homemade versions, which are rare to find done well. The overall selection of traditional Austrian dishes was impressive. Staff were friendly and welcoming – the lady who served us was particularly attentive, and the Hungarian waiter was a delight: talkative and kind. While the prices are on the higher side, this is central London, and the quality of food certainly justifies it. The only downside was the outdoor seating – quite cramped and the furniture felt a bit flimsy. Understandably, space is limited, but sturdier and more comfortable seating would really elevate the experience. Overall, we were very satisfied and would happily return for another taste of home.

Booked lunch there on a Saturday. When we arrived, we waited for about 5 minutes to be seated until someone came to seat us. We ordered the Tiroler Gröstl (beef and potatoes topped with an egg) and Kaspressknödel (cheese dumplings) as well as Sauerkraut as a side. The Gröstl was well seasoned, but even with a egg, slightly on the dry side. The potatoes were very crispy and really good. The knödel were nicely cooked, but lacked seasoning. Adding salt doesn't help that much, since they need to be seasoned throughout. Otherwise, it would have been a great dish. The kraut was surprisingly good, one of the best I've had in awhile. Service, other than the initial delay was good and attentive. All in all, I would go there again, but probably order something different. Additionally, there pastries and cakes looked great, but we didn't have a chance to try them.

After a trip to Vienna, where I had tried some delicious food, I was reminiscing having those tastes again. I then happen to find this quaint little place that is the only authentic Austrian restaurant in London run by Austrian people and it definitely was proven. Deliciousss food, definitely worth the price as it was filling and savoury. Would recommend

It’s a lovely little restaurant just a few minutes from Angel Underground Station. The food is really tasty and the cakes are divine. My friend had the apple strudel - FULL of apples, unlike some other strudels I have tried around London. I had the “Maronitorte” (chestnuts) - very nice, but it had a VERY rich topping, I’d have had a Schnapps afterwards, but it was midday and a bit too early for that 😎 I also purchased some Austrian mustard to take home - very nice! Already planning my next visit 😁 PS I didn’t take photos of our lunch - the Rösti were great 👍

After 3 hours of walking along the New River pathway, we needed a good lunch. That’s exactly what we found in this typical Austrian restaurant. Super cool and friendly staff, we had a chance to chat with the waiter couple of times, super nice! The food is amazing and typical of what we experienced in St Anton in the Bavarian Alps 30 years ago. We went all the way with at the end a delicious hot chocolate with Austrian pastries. Totally decadent! We loved our time there and highly recommend it!

We had a wiener schnitzel with käsespetlze ( small supplement in place of potatoes)and sauerkraut with bacon to share between 2. I challenge anyone to find better in the Tyrol. The schnitzel coating was perfectly crisp and absolutely how it should be. And the kraut was soft and not salty or acidic. Highly recommended, especially washed down with the house Grüner Veltliner . We tried the Dubai Sachertorte for desert but I cannot personally recommend it. Stick to traditional Sachertorte or Apfel Strudel.

Bubble tea store
Kova Patisserie Chinatown is a premium Japanese-French bakery with multiple locations in London. They are known for their exquisite Mille Crepes, a dessert made of 15 layers of French-style crepes filled with custard cream in flavors like matcha and chocolate. In addition to their delectable baked goods, they also offer bubble tea and a variety of delicate Japanese teas.
Very nice strawberry shortcake, actually the best so far in London's Japanese cake shops. Mont Black and matcha mille crepe weren't bad, either. Take away only small shop but I will definitely go back to try all other cakes very soon.

I can taste the good ingredients, matcha is definitely high grade. The coconut taro is also super delicious, just a little bit too sweet for me and quite expensive Their drinks are mid and overpriced, I recommend going to those stores that specializes in matcha
Annika S — Google review
Kova’s Chinatown branch isn’t built for lingering, but that’s half the charm. Tucked into a tiny spot on Newport Court, this takeaway-only patisserie deals in Mille Crêpes, fluffy strawberry shortcake, and the kind of Matcha Tiramisu that will convert even the matcha-sceptics. No frills, no seats, and a queue that almost always snakes out the door. The matcha tiramisu is the real draw here, light layers of sponge and cream dusted generously with matcha. Rich, smooth, not overly sweet. One bite and you’ll understand the hype. Bubble tea options are stacked too, with customisation for sweetness and milk preference. I went classic and it hit the mark. Service is brisk and efficient, though staff definitely have their hands full with the foot traffic. No surprise, the cakes speak for themselves. If you need a seat, head 30 seconds deeper into Chinatown for some public benches. But really, this is a grab-and-go kind of place. Perfect for when your sweet tooth is calling and you’ve got places to be.

I had the pistachio cake which was good but pretty pricey for what it is. The cake is quite dense and you can taste the pistachio. Might come back to try some of the other flavors.

We had the Dubai chocolate crepe cake. It wad good, but for 8.8 pounds it was way too expensive.
Krunal T — Google review
They do some of the best bubble tea around. The dirty taro is our preferred one. Also, the cakes are outstanding. They're particularly good at the mille crepes. These crepe cakes are sandwiched together with a thin layer of cream between each crepe. Matcha mille crepe is popular, but the other flavours are also lovely. The matcha cake and strawberry shortcake are nice if you prefer more cake than mille crepe cake. The sea salt lava cake and matcha tiramisu are also ones to try. Follow here and the IG link in profile for more travel and food and drink tips, ideas and reviews!

I’ve been a regular customer and have usually enjoyed coming here, especially for my go-to order a Dirty Matcha boba with less ice. Unfortunately, my recent visit left me pretty disappointed. When I requested my usual less-ice version, I was told that the only options were either hot or full ice no in between. I was confused, especially since I've ordered it with less ice before without any issue. I ended up getting a cup hot drink full price of boba matcha instead which wasn’t what I wanted, and it felt like I paid full price for something that didn’t meet my expectations. It wasn’t just the drink the experience made me feel like my preferences didn’t matter. As a regular, that stung a bit. It’s unfortunate when a place you’ve supported can’t accommodate a small request or at least explain the policy clearly and kindly. This experienced really makes me upset and I guess will makes me long consider for next up visit.

As a sweet tooth, I will be a patron for their Tiramisu. The cake was a masterpiece, beyond this world. For those who are on diet, both the tiramisu and Sea Salt Cheese Lava were adequately sweet.

Customers appreciate the affordability of the donuts, making it a must-visit spot. Visitors have raved about the exceptional quality of the donuts, describing them as more than just your average treat. The friendly and passionate staff contribute to the warm atmosphere, while the charming decor adds to the overall experience.
If you love donuts, this place is a dream come true! The display alone is stunning – every donut looks like a little work of art, and the variety is incredible. I went for the Raspberry Macaron Donut, and honestly, it was unbelievable – soft, rich, and bursting with flavour. They also have amazing croissants that look just as tempting! The coffee was excellent too, perfectly complementing the sweetness of the donuts. The shop itself is beautifully designed, with such a lovely, elegant atmosphere. The staff were friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. If you’re in London, Donutelier is an absolute must-visit – delicious, picture-perfect, and totally worth the hype! 🍩☕✨

If you’ve ever wondered what happens when desserts decide to put on tuxedos and attend a gala, Donutlier is the answer 🎩🍩. The place screams “fancy” in every swirl of frosting and sprinkle of pistachio dust. Speaking of pistachio dessert - 😍 wow. That one really stole the show for me. Smooth, nutty, and just the right level of sweet. If Donutlier had a signature move, it’s definitely that pistachio creation. Now, would I come here every weekend? Probably not. It’s more of a “special craving” or “treat yourself” stop rather than your regular sugar fix. Still, if you’re a dessert lover, I’d say give it at least one try—you might just find yourself planning your next cheat day around it. My son loves donuts so we had to give this place a try, from the outside it looks very inviting, and once you step in inside, it doesn't disappoint. The decor is really nice and quirky, i especially like the icing cone chandeliers. The donuts on display look insane! We tried the pistachio donut and a hot chocolate. The hot chocolate was so thick and creamy, very luxurious. One of the best I have had for a long time. The donut was very rich and interesting, but to complex for my son, who likes things simple in terms of flavors.

Second time visit within 2 weeks. First time I left them in the hotel room so never got to try the rest of what I bought. The donuts are delicious - it’s all very instagramable, but they’re packed full of flavour. Definite a worthwhile visit if you want to be bougie.

Elevating the humble donut / doughnut to high art, Donutelier are all about the style AND the substance. The donuts look a million dollars and actually taste as good as they look. Considering one Donutelier donut will cost you about the same as 20+ Sainsbury's raspberry jam ball donughts (the undisputed king of basic but yummy balls of deep fried goodness), but the choice is yours.

Donutelier offers a wonderful selection of pastries and donuts that are fresh and delicious. I tried the croissant with cream, which was flaky and light, perfectly complemented by the smooth cream. If you're ready to rethink your perception of scones, Cheeky Scone in Notting Hill is the perfect place to start. This delightful spot takes the classic scone and gives it a modern twist with an array of bold flavors and fun toppings. Each day, they bake their scones fresh on-site, offering unique varieties like lemon drizzle and chocolate orange alongside savory options such as cheddar and chive.
The best scones and most fresh one you’ll ever try!! It really tastes like heaven. I had sultana scones. But the coffee was the worst, I got cappucino and it tasted like water with a hint of coffee and milk very bad not worth 4£.
Rahma K — Google review
Best scones ever, buttery crumbly and as moist as scones go. Definitely worth a try. Original definitely takes the cake for us - Chocolate was a little strange and the one with raisins was way to crumbly (obviously as the structure had been compromised by the raisins). We got takeaway though and had to buy the clotted cream and jam separately so I knocked a star off. It was £1 each, quite expensive for the teeny tub that you get, not sure how it would've been if we ate in. It is quite a tiny store so not much seating but it is very cute and cozy, nestled in one of the streets in Notting Hill.
Sharon W — Google review
A super cute and colorful scone shop! When I arrived there were only 2–3 people in line, but after about 5 minutes the queue got really long. They have lots of scone flavors to choose from, but I wouldn’t recommend picking a sweet one (like I did🥲😂) since the jam they serve is already quite sweet. The clotted cream was amazing though! Seating is limited, so if you come with a group, I’d suggest getting take-away

Surprisingly lovely scones, come with cream and jam for the sweet ones and cream cheese and onion jam for the savoury ones. Service was friendly and atomised was great. However, pity about the coffee, I ordered a macchiato and it tasted sour, she must have burned the coffee...... but the scones were the main attraction here! Have try on your way to Notting Hill's Protobello Market.

Worth a visit if u are in Notting Hill for a day Famous for their great selection of scones Jam is hit and miss. Strawberry jam is surprisingly poor quality but Raspberry jame is much better. Tea or coffee was just ordinary.

This is my first experience of scone. It taste really superb especially with the cream. Love it! There are more seating on basement. A little crowd and small space. But worth for taste and price
Sarasaa — Google review
I searched high and low across London for scones, and it seems as though they're not as plentiful as I thought they were. When we stopped at several bakeries and asked if they had scones we were told no, and then we asked if they knew where to find them, and most said they had no idea. Luckily, passing through Nottinghill we stumbled upon a "Cheeky" little bakery. I figured we would be lucky to find a place with one scone option, but this place had several. In fact, they specialize in them. The store isn't very large in size, but it is cozy and clean. The scones have a subtle flavor, and weren't nearly as dry as I anticipated. Each scone is not only appetizing, but it is very instagramable. Some tips: The line gets rather long, so, if there are multiple people in your party, I would consider sending one representative in to order. There isn't any seating outside the establishment, but if you walk a block or two you should be able to find lovely public benches to sit and enjoy this seemingly rare British treat. Cheers!!

Best Italian self-service cafe I've ever been to till today. The pizza selection is not huge but all the pizzas available looks great, and the ones we've got tasted delicious. There are pies and other baked stuff that is good too. And the interior is nice, they keep it clean even though there are lots of people eating there all the time. Keep in mind they have two sections: self-service and restaurant where they will sit you and serve. Which means they can satisfy both grab-and-go and tired travalers.

Excellent, in a word. We were all a bit hungover and needed feeding and not any old thing. This place nailed it. Great anti pasta, the meatballs were phenomenal. And I'm not a meatball guy normally. Pizzas were generous is size. Good thin crusts. The burratta was particularly fresh and creamy. No hesitation in recommending the place. £90 for 4 pizzas, two anti pasta, 2 soft drinks and 1 glass of wine. Only thing is the wine ££ imo. It's nice but more than I expected.

Nice, well furnished and decorated place with Italian touch. I, along with the family, had a breakfast. In my opinion, there was not any innovative ideas or creativity in the food preparation or presentation. The taste was very normal and the service was average. For the high price charged, I see it doesn’t worth it.

Delicious Italian eats in the heart of London. Countless options, both sweet and savory. Friendly staff and lots of seating. Perfect spot for lunch and a drink!
Emma S — Google review
Had three mini croissants for just 2.80 so not bad. The jam and chocolate one were very sweet though. The process of ordering was a bit confusing, I asked to sit by the window and I was told to order at the counter first. I did that and then was told I couldn't sit by the window area (to the right at it was the restaurant). It wasn't explained to me at first when I asked as I would have happily sat in the restaurant and get table service

We are really happy we stumbled upon this place while heading to a different restaurant for brunch. The decor and open ambiance was enough to draw us in. We ordered the oven roast Nduja and eggs and smoked salmon and eggs. The nduja was not what I expected it was even better. I highly recommend it if you are hungry and what flavour and spice. Food was delicious, service was great, loved the interior design.

One of my favorite breakfast spots when in London. Fantastic coffee, freshly in house baked pastries and breads and impeccably prepared eggs. Kool Italian contemporary decor of marble brass and glass, friendly staff and great people watching through the main full glass windows. Superb.

Great place for an authentic Italian aperitivo. Good selection of drinks /cocktails and variety of pizza. They also have some other variety of dishes, like vegetables, cheese, salads. Staff is welcoming, we were served by Denise very sweet Italian lady who made us feel "at home". Recommended if you are in the center for a drink and a quick bite.

The Dorchester is a historic hotel that has been standing since the 1930s and is known for its acclaimed restaurant and art deco-style spa. The three-Michelin-starred dining room at the hotel, led by executive chef Jean-Philippe Blondet under the guidance of renowned chef Alain Ducasse, offers exquisite dishes that emphasize both vegetables and meats.
What a beautiful and magical experience in London! My fiancé surprised me with this stunning place and it truly felt like stepping back in time with gorgeous decorations and plenty of fresh flowers everywhere. The room was like a fairytale and the bathroom was absolutely to die for. A truly unforgettable stay!

Just had a special overnight stay with my daughter. It was the BEST hotel experience I have ever had. The room was perfect, the lighting is just right, the pillows and bed, you just fall into like a big cosy hug. It felt so homely but with the grand touch of The Dorchester. All of the interactions with the Dorchester team have been amazing, Anuar looked after us so well at breakfast, we didn’t want to leave. You should be proud of the special hospitality experience you have created. THANK YOU

The Dorchester truly stands in a league of its own — my absolute favourite hotel in the world! Every detail is perfection, and the staff go above and beyond to make every stay unforgettable. They clearly love what they do and genuinely care about creating magical moments for their guests. Our engagement night was made beyond special thanks to their thoughtfulness, and a huge shoutout to Michelle in Guest Experience for exceeding all expectations. A recent overnight stay with my daughter was just as incredible — the room was pure comfort and luxury, from the perfect lighting to the dreamy bed and pillows. It felt like a warm hug wrapped in elegance. Breakfast service was outstanding, with Anuar taking such wonderful care of us. The Dorchester team has created something truly extraordinary — a world-class hospitality experience that keeps you wanting to return again and again.

Every day is a joy at The Dorchester: Staying here is to experience the absolute best London has to offer in terms of a luxury hotel stay. This is a five star hotel to dress up for. Staff are warm, experienced and make guests feel like family. The Vesper Bar is more private club than hotel bar with world class cocktails and a great vibe, as is The Promenade where breakfast and an exceptional high tea is served. Breakfast is one of the highlights at any Dorchester property and this one is no exception. Healthy options, freshly made eggs and an array of pastries, fresh fruit, seeds, nuts, fresh juices and coffees that is breath taking. Rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated. Deep marble baths are perfect to unwind. Families and children are not only welcome but catered for. The whole hotel is bursting with fresh flowers, huge bunches adorn the lobby and even guest rooms have roses in vases. Dorchester guests can use the world class spa at 45 Park Lane next door, as well as the breakfast area for a different experience. I absolutely love this hotel. It is quite simply extraordinary.

Nestled in the heart of Covent Garden, WA Cafe is a charming Japanese bakery that feels like stepping into a whimsical world reminiscent of Studio Ghibli. The eye-catching display cases are filled with an array of delightful treats, from yuzu cheesecakes to matcha crepe cakes and Mont Blancs. However, it's the more humble offerings like kare-pan (curry bread), melon pan (melon bread), and sweet red bean buns that truly capture your heart.
Such a lovely café! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the pastries are beautifully made and absolutely delicious. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, always greeting customers with a smile. I truly enjoyed my experience here from start to finish 🥰✨ A perfect spot to relax with friends or pick up some delightful treats to take home 💖🍰

Finally popped by WA Cafe after it being on my list for ages! 📍 The location is quite small, so we waited a bit to sit inside, but the staff were super understanding and friendly about it 😊. Once seated, the team was absolutely lovely 💛—warm, attentive, and made ordering a breeze. I had the Matcha Tiramisu. Out. Of. This. World. 🌍✨ A true piece of edible art 🎨—rich, light yet dense, with layers that danced between textures and flavours. A dream for any matcha lover! 😍 My friend was equally obsessed with the Strawberry shortcake 🧼 The space is cute, clean, and cozy. 💸 Is it pricey? Yes. ✅ Is it worth it? Absolutely. Already planning my next visit and recommending it to everyone I know! 🙌

This place was recommended by a friend, so I decided to pay a visit while I was in Covent Garden. I arrived at around 11:40 AM, and a few tables were already occupied. They had a lovely display of cakes. I ordered the chicken spring onion toast, and for my drink, I chose the hot matcha tea. The tea tasted fine. If you wish to hang out with girls or have a quiet moment for yourself, this one place definitely right for you. Staff are very friendly.

WA Cafe offers both takeaway and dine-in options you can walk in to order for takeaway, but if you want a table, you’ll need to queue outside. The service is good, but the real reason I keep coming back is the cake! It’s perfectly balanced delicious and not too sweet, just melts in your mouth. I’ve been there many times, and it never disappoints. Highly recommend if you’re looking for amazing cakes and great matcha you must try WA Cafe!

Make a mean matcha latte 😎👌 Cakes vary from £5.50-7 tho bear in mind that there is a £2 to eat in. If you take any they provide you eith a gorgeous paper bag for free to take your cake away. Tip: Gets busy after 12noon so aim for before or after

I visited today hoping to relax and enjoy some pastries, but I didn’t feel comfortable at all. I wasn’t allowed to charge my phone, while another customer who arrived after me was given permission. Because of that, my phone died and I ended up stuck on my way back. It felt unfair and unwelcoming. I came to experience Japanese culture, but I left disappointed. I won’t be coming back and don’t recommend it.

Amazing amazing amazing!! Such a fantastic patisserie, I really felt transported with the Japanese flavours. I got a white sesame cheese and my friend got a matcha roll. For drinks we got iced ume cha (plum tea) and iced yuzu cha (yuzu tea). Everything was so light and fluffy and delicious! I adored the plum tea, and it's been so long since I've had plum flavoured things in England it was a delight. They also sell pastries like shokupan (milk bread), creampan, curry bun, honey toast and melon pan. I will definitely be back to try some pastries and breads! There's seating inside for maybe 15-20 people, the seats are very low and comfortable, and the interior is very chic and airy.

Was recommended this place and will definitely be returning. They have a fantastic range of pastries for a little bakery which were all delicious and buttery. My favourite was the doughnut which was sugary and soft and flavourful without being too sweet. I haven’t yet had a chance to try the bread but I will go back to do so. My only comment was for the eaten mess bun the icing didn’t go the whole way through the bun. I believe this is human error tho as I have seen on their Instagram others do and for that I won’t impact the star rating.

Fabrique is a Stockholm-based bakery located near Hoxton Overground station in London. The bakery offers a small Scandi-style seating area for visitors to enjoy a Swedish coffee break, known as fika, along with sweet buns. Using traditional stone ovens, Fabrique hand-bakes various bread like rye, walnut boules, and sourdough. Their knotted buns come in flavors such as blueberry and buttery cinnamon with sugar crystals.
Best sourdough! The place was tiny with limited seating but the crew was amazingly efficient. They took turns serving in the counter and tidying the tables regularly. The coffee was also of good quality.
Lee L — Google review
This depends completely what you’re going to have. Croissant was such a waste of money, 3.75£ for no butter flavour or layers, how do you even call it a croissant?? The sourdough bread was excellent on the other hand. Honestly they should just remove the croissant from the selection and they would have gotten 5 stars from here. A smile in the service wouldn’t hurt either.
Cech G — Google review
I have visited Sweden a few times and one of my favourite things besides the lovely people are the delicious cakes and pastries. So I was really pleased to find out there was a branch of Fabrique in my area. Their signature cardamom and cinnamon buns are delicious and definitely recommended. However, my personal favourites have to be the almond and blueberry buns. They are the perfect weekend treat. The staff at this particular branch are also great. They are friendly and happy to answer questions and make general chat if they are not busy serving customers. My only request would be that I would love if Fabrique also served more traditional Swedish cakes like their bakeries in Sweden. I am sure the British public would love the Princess Cake.

We got the chocolate chip cookie which was a bit pricey and it tasted nice, but it could’ve been heated up and made to be softer. The interior is warm with nice music but the floors are a bit dirty and there is a limited seating area (one long bench only, no chairs).

Very cute bakery. The buns are amazing! I wanted to try everything. The vanilla bun is very nice!
Esmee — Google review
Located right by Portobello Market in London, is a cool spot we tried. We had this almond Danish there, and honestly, it was amazing. It was packed with fillings, had a bit of a cardamom taste to it, and was super fresh. You could even smell the fresh sourdough they sell, which was nice. The only downside was that there weren’t many places to sit. It got pretty busy, and we ended up waiting around 5-10 minutes to get a seat. But if you don’t mind a short wait, it’s definitely worth checking out. The pastries are top-notch.
Mark H — Google review
I love a good cinnamon bun, so when I stopped by the Notting Hill Fabrique today, that was the first thing I went for. It was spot on — perfectly baked, great flavour, and exactly what I wanted. And once I tried the cinnamon bun, I couldn’t resist picking up some bread as well. The rye with walnuts and cranberries has a deep flavour, the walnuts add a nice bite, and the cranberries give it that bit of sweetness. The half-white, half-brown sourdough is just a great everyday loaf, light but with that proper sourdough tang, and a really good crust. If you’re near Notting Hill, it’s worth stopping in. I’m already planning my next visit.

The bakery offers a modern twist on traditional French boulangerie patisserie with an exquisite selection of baked goods. Executive pastry chef Vincent Zanardi brings his expertise to create French-accented treats like tarte Tropezienne, lemon meringue pies, and delicate chocolate oblongs.
Almond pain au chocolat was delicious. Perfectly balanced and not too sweet. Good crunch. The staff could be more polite and welcoming but it was lunchtime rush so maybe it was because of that.

I was very impressed with Birely Bakery it was like being transported to Paris or boulangerie in France, the interior replicates perfectly a French bakery shop. They had a range of patisseries I chose a croissant and an orange and cinnamon madeleine and the croissant was very good. Usually croissants in bakeries are quite dry and lack that butter flavour, but Birley nails the French croissant. You can tell by the butter! The madeleine was very good as well.
Sadaharu — Google review
The Almond pain au chocolat was so good, I ordered another two the next day. Honestly, the best one I've ever had. Slight crunch on the outside, filled with the right amount of almonds and chocolate. I could be wrong, but I think its also dipped in rum syrup? It gives it a slightly sticky coating which adds to the experience. The pastry was buttery and flakey, how it should be. The brownie was good too, but the Pain Au Chocolat blew me away. Next time I will try some other pastries and add to this review.

Sunny Sunday morning vibes 😎 nothing better than a slow walk and a mission: to finally try what everyone keeps calling the best croissant in London. I wanted to see if the hype was real. I went classic and ordered a plain croissant and a pain aux amandes. Then I spotted a half jambon-beurre sitting in the vitrine basically calling my name… so yeah, that joined the party too. Let me start with the croissant: incredible. Flaky in all the right ways, buttery without being greasy, and the inside had that perfect airy honeycomb structure. Honestly, it could stand proudly next to some of the top bakeries in Paris. It was that good. The pain aux amandes was fine, but it didn’t have that deep almond flavor or texture I usually look for. And the jambon-beurre was solid, though I personally would’ve gone with a salted butter to make the whole thing pop. Tip💡: Grab your croissant to go, then walk across the street to Amar Café for a coffee and enjoy everything in the little square outside. It completes the whole experience 👌🏼

Dunn's Bakery, a long-standing local establishment in Crouch End since 1820, is a slice of British baking history. The bakery offers an array of traditional pastries, bread, sandwiches, and celebration cakes. Owned by Chris Freeman, a fifth-generation baker with a rich family legacy in the business, Dunn's Bakery is known for its novelty cakes shaped like London buses and beautifully iced celebration cakes.
We frequent Dunn’s so it was only fitting to order a Dunn’s cake for our wedding. We were not disappointed! Turned out exactly as we imagined and tasted delicious. We barely got to eat any, as guests loved it so much they had finished it off entirely by the end of the reception (photos by our lovely photographer @elvira_azimova)

Dunn's Bakery is a reliable spot for a quick bite or fresh loaf of bread when you're in the neighborhood. While they might not be the most extraordinary bakery in town, they consistently deliver decent quality. We've never had a bad experience, so they're always a safe bet for a satisfying treat.

Australian’s love their sausage rolls served hot, often with ketchup, so it was very exciting to not only see these beauties in the hot oven BUT ALSO for the ketchup to be put INSIDE THE SAUSAGE ROLL when we asked for sauce. What is this SORCERY (saucery🤭)? I don’t know but I didn’t mess about to find out. Acquired and devoured in minutes. Pure magic! 😋🤤👏 Vegan sausage rolls also available.

I had a lovely time at Dunn's Bakery, enjoying coffee and cake outdoors with a friend. The atmosphere was relaxed, and cakes tasted great. A small mishap happened when my paper cup broke and some coffee spilled. To my surprise, one of the shop assistants noticed from inside and immediately came out to offer me a new cup—without me even needing to ask. Although I had already poured the coffee into my own bottle and didn't need the replacement, I truly appreciated his attentiveness and quick response. It’s also worth noting that during these challenging times of inflation, Dunn’s continues to provide excellent service, employing at least four shop assistants at the front desk to ensure customers are well taken care of. That shows strong commitment from the owner to both staff and customers. Overall, a warm and thoughtful experience—thank you, Dunn’s!

Kuro Bakery is a delightful addition to the Notting Hill scene, brought to life by the same talented team behind Kuro Coffee and Kuro Eatery. This charming bakery specializes in an array of freshly baked goods that are as visually appealing as they are delicious. Under the expert guidance of head baker Adam Morley, visitors can indulge in seasonal filled croissants, delectable Danish pastries, and their unique Sakuras—wheel-shaped croissants filled with luscious cream that have taken social media by storm.
There are a lot of bakeries in the Notting Hill area, but Kuro Bakery stands out for me because of some of the more unique items on their menu. These include their Sākuro Pastries, which are delicious. My personal favourite is the Pistachio flavour. Their customer service is also very good. I contacted them recently, as I wanted to purchase their Guinness & Chocolate Ganache Cake, but could not order it through Deliveroo. I contacted the bakery and Olive from the team was incredibly helpful and arranged a collection for me. I really appreciated it, as the cake was for a special occasion. The other staff at the bakery are also friendly and helpful when you visit in-person. I do recommend the Guinness & Chocolate Ganache Cake if you are looking for a chocolate cake which is not too sweet. It has a really nice contrast between the slight bitterness of the Guinness and the sweetness of the chocolate. Kuro Bakery is definitely worth a visit whether you are looking for well baked conventional breads and pastries or something a little more unusual.

Stopped by Kuro Bakery in Notting Hill for a pain au chocolat and an iced coffee - both were great. The pastry was fresh with good quality chocolate, and the coffee was well made. Plenty of tempting options on offer, so definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area.

I’ve ordered apple strudel, chocolate and hazelnut croissant and blueberry muffin. The croissant is generously filled with chocolate and hazelnut cream but the cream itself is tasteless and taste more like a pudding, apple strudel had so little filling and it was somewhat hard to chew. Seemed like apples were not cooked enough or croissant was old. Or both. It wasn’t melting in your mouth at all. Blueberry muffin was nice bc of the blueberry compote at the top but once it’s gone then it’s bland. I’m not sure if for over £15 it was worth the trip Also the lady on the till was too busy chatting to a friend to acknowledge new customers coming in although I stood in front of her.

I have been going to Little Bread Pedlar so often now that I can honestly say it has become one of my favourite places in London. From the moment I walk in, I feel welcomed and uplifted, almost as if I have come home to something wonderful. My dearest friend Martin, who is also the owner, is nothing short of extraordinary. He embodies kindness, artistry, and generosity all at once. At first, I only knew him through his creations. I kept visiting all of his places, tasting his breads, enjoying the food, and feeling the joy of his hospitality. Eventually, I had the chance to thank him in person, and from that moment he became not only the visionary behind this gem but also a friend whose warmth and passion inspire everyone who meets him. His dedication to excellence is not just about perfect crusts or beautiful flavours. It is about creating moments: moments when strangers become friends, moments when simple food lifts your spirit, and moments when you leave feeling more alive than when you arrived. Alongside him is Alessandro, and I hope I have spelled his name correctly. He manages the place with such grace, efficiency, patience, and care. He carries both calm and joy in equal measure, and every visit shows me the strength of his touch. Everything flows smoothly, from the service to the atmosphere, and there is always a sense that nothing is ever too much trouble. Alejandro makes every guest feel seen, heard, and valued, whether it is through helping choose the right bread, answering questions with care, or simply sharing a smile that brightens the day. Little Bread Pedlar is far more than a bakery or café. It is a place of connection, a place where the aromas of fresh baking mix with the rustic beauty of the space and the laughter of people gathered around small tables. Together these elements create not only food but also memories, and the experience nourishes the soul as much as it does the body. Thank you to Martin, to Alejandro, and to every person who works there. You have built something magical, and I will keep coming back for as long as I can.

I'm glad I stopped by. I enjoyed my oat flat white which greatly complemented the croissant I got. The croissant was a great bake. It was soft whilst retaining its airiness and flakiness. The notes of salt enhanced the sweetness without it being overbearing. I will definitely be returning to try their other baked goods. The Little Bread Pedlar in Bermondsey is situated under the arches and there wasn't seating available. There was a slender "counter" outside where you could rest your coffee but the space was limited. It's located 10 minutes away from the river Thames, so I got to enjoy both the coffee and croissant at Bermondsey Beach.

After reading all these positive reviews I had really high hopes for this bakery, as it's been on my to-try list for 2-3 years now. So one Sunday morning after I woke up really early because of post-holiday jetlag, I decided to trek all the way to LBP and finally try it out myself. It had literally just opened when I got there at 8:30, so thankfully there wasn't a queue. It was also super rainy which definitely put people off from coming so early. I had a look the pastries and went with the plain croissant, hazelnut chocolatine, maple pecan swirl and the cinnamon bun. I then went home and tried the cinnamon bun, which I must say wasn't particularly impressed with, as it tasted just very average like any other bakeries out there. It's on the fluffy side, and the sugar on top added some crunch to it. A few hours later, I also tried the hazelnut chocolatine and this was when I got very surprised about the quality of the pastries - it was chewy! Just because I left the pastries aside for a few hours after purchase doesn't mean they should have turned chewy! I was genuinely shocked that it was like that particular given how early I got to the bakery which meant they must have been just baked! It's not flaky, the shape seemed off even though the taste and the filling was great. I have never eaten a croissant-type pastry that's chewy and I don't believe it should ever taste like that. So now I am really confused why others think their pastries were even good?! As someone who has tried millions of bakeries in London and around the world, I am truly disappointed with the quality of LBP. Before my visit to the bakery, I really thought this would turn out so positive that I could start recommending my friends to come. But I guess that's not happening.

Honey & Spice Food Store is an exceptional deli located at 52 Warren St, London W1T 5NJ. Their cheesecake is a delectable treat with a spiced pumpkin filling and a rich, nutty base. A dollop of sour cream in the middle adds a tangy twist to the creamy texture that simply dissolves on your palate.
One of the best pita breads I’ve ever had and really good hummus. You can eat it in, seat down in their coffee area or outside. I always take it to go. They have few vegan options available

Very pleased with my visit. How disappointing that when one reads of the best bakeries to visit in London, Honey & Spice barely ever makes it to the list. Well, their loss is my gain. I sampled the delightful buns (cardamom and chocolate along with the Fitzrovia). There is undeniably a current of high-practice baking here and appreciation of pairing ingredients to capitalise on flavour. Stellar Ingredients like pistachio and tahini along with spices like cardamom demonstrate what a little experimentation and knowledge can conjure up. The classic cheesecake has a spin, as does the babka. Nothing to me looks less than moist and all the colours scream to be chosen. It’s quite the place to be. Music was a little too pop bordering irritable for me but I wasn’t sat in long enough for it to produce much of an effect.

I get lunch here almost every week. Consistently delicious, lovely service and fab flavours! My favourite is the vegan aubergine lunch box
Em S — Google review
Came here after seeing a couple promotional posts on Instagram. It was a Wednesday afternoon when I visited and it was absolutely empty with only one table outside being occupied. They had a lot of baked goods in stock still and it's got a great variety. I went with the strawberry and rose cheesecake, blueberry, hazelnut and ricotta cake and the fitzrovia bun to take away. Out of the 3 I liked the cheesecake the most, it's got a nice rose flavour to it which wasn't too strong that I couldn't take it and the biscuit base had a bit of coconut which made it surprisingly lovely to eat and this is coming from someone who doesn't even coconut at all in her desserts! The ricotta cake was then second. I loved the texture coming from the hazelnut and the cake was soft and fluffy presumably because of the ricotta and blueberries made it refreshing to eat. It's also not too sweet which would go perfect with a coffee. The fitzrovia bun was the least favourite of all as it didn't really offer much of a flavour of anything to me personally. It's got some pistachio and cherry (I think?) but there's not really a strong taste of anything sweet in the bun. The dough itself was okay, soft and kind of fluffy but I just wasn't sure what I was supposed to be tasting. Prices were reasonable I suppose considering it's in central London. The service was good too. It's a nice store/ cafe with grocery items and you can even get some homemade hummus and pita bread to go and have them at Regents Park as a picnic on a sunny day. They also have outdoor seats so it's quite a spacious place.

Very nice place. You can have your lunch and cake easily sorted once decided, what you like from their yummy and good looking products. The sales team are happy professional and friendly. Highly recommended. They price like anywhere else in London but the quality its speak for itself.

I work around the corner and have visited this place often. Their chicken tagine and potato salad are fantastic, and I also really like the aubergine sandwich; or at least I used to. A couple of weeks ago, that sandwich was £8.50, and now it’s suddenly £11.50 for a tiny vegetarian sandwich. Absolutely ridiculous. The attitude of the staff is also outrageous. They don’t even acknowledge you if you compliment their food, and there is zero appreciation for loyal customers. I will never be back, and I will be telling everyone in my large office to avoid this place.
Anna V — Google review
Absolutely lovely meals and pastries with a nice shop as well. Although the food there is pretty expensive, it is undeniably delicious! All of the “box” meals bare beautifully prepared and every component is lovely. The pastries and desserts are also absolutely brilliant- I highly recommend the babka!. Finally, the service is very efficient and the staff are extremely friendly. I have just one bad thing to say about this place though: please stop giving out plastic cutlery!
Griff H — Google review
I like lunch to have a few components and this takeaway lunch box was that and more! On the advice of the kind woman helping me, I got the frittata box. It was filled to the brim of fresh, flavorful side salads on the spot. Best cucumber salad I’ve ever had (the addition of capers - wow). Clearly devoted to quality ingredients and thoughtful pairings.

Their cupcakes are renowned for being some of the best globally, available in various flavors such as classic red velvet with vanilla cream cheese frosting and seasonal specials like Summer Berry Pudding. Ordering online offers convenient delivery options including refrigerated lockers and next-day or even same-day delivery for select London postcodes.
I absolutely love their cupcakes!! A really cute spot with a lot of variety for everyone. They have vegan, gluten free etc. cupcakes.

I decided to try this cupcake after walking past the shop in Covent Garden a while ago. Honestly, I almost missed it, despite its colourful appearance, it’s quite small compared to everything else around. The service was average, but the staff were polite and kind. I took my time choosing which cake to try, and they were patient throughout. The cake itself was nice, though it didn’t exactly blow me away. For me, it was the aesthetic of both the place and the cake that really stood out, and that’s what I enjoyed the most. The flavour, while good, was fairly average in my opinion. That said, it was still tasty! I’d definitely recommend giving it a try if you’re passing by as it was cheap for the area, especially being in Covent Garden! Just a tip: if you prefer something sweeter, maybe go for a different cheesecake than the one I chose 😂

I am thankful I am leaving London having tried one, and even more glad they remain in London! These are insanely fantastic, and easily the best cupcakes I have ever tried. Not overly sweet icing, great texture, and prefect density to the cake. I will have to break down and get a few in a "take away" (learning the lingo) box to take back. Thanks!!!

Lola’s cupcakes are honestly some of the best tasting cupcakes I’ve found in London, and the customer service at the Covent Garden location is really incredible - they have always been so accommodating and so welcoming and friendly. My delivery orders always arrive extremely quickly too. Today when I called about my Deliveroo order (Saturday 27/09/35, 15:08) the lady was so helpful - I wish I got her name! I know they are super busy at the location but head office recommended I leave the date and time here and I really hope she gets the recognition. Thank you so much Lola’s - I’ve been a customer for years and you’ve always been outstanding, I couldn’t recommend more highly <3

Cannot recommend enough. Brilliant service. We were visiting London from Ireland and ordered a birthday cake to the hotel we were staying in. Really appreciate the tracking information, we were informed at every stage via email with an estimated arrival time. The cake was so moist and fluffy. The nicest cake I think we've ever ordered for a birthday. Great portion size too. Thanks so much!

Cake Box Luton never disappoints! Their cakes are always fresh, soft, and delicious. I really appreciate that they are egg-free, which makes them suitable for everyone in my family. The staff are polite and welcoming, and they always help with personalising cakes, even at short notice. The shop is bright, clean, and inviting. A go-to place for birthdays and celebrations!

There are so many flavors of cupcakes and they all look so pretty, so we had to try. We ordered the Mini Banoffee Cupcake and were quite disappointed. Both the cake itself and the frosting were lacking flavor. Overall, would not recommend, as the quality is much lower than the price.

Nestled just off the bustling Strand, Toklas Cafe and Bakery is a delightful destination for food lovers. This charming spot boasts a Mediterranean-inspired menu that tantalizes the taste buds, complemented by an impressive bakery offering an array of classic treats. From freshly baked breads to flaky pastries and filled sandwiches, there's something for everyone. The bakery is particularly famous for its croissants and Roman-style pizza slices, perfect for a quick bite or leisurely sit-down meal.
I left the bakery knowing that I will be obsessed with this place. A cute, artsy industrial design with great coffee and phenomenal bakery items. The waitress recommended the financiers soaked in rum, which was rich and dreamy. The rhubarb and lemon tart was also hearty and recommended - they candied the rhubarb so well, balancing the textures, the sweetness, and the tartness perfectly. The winner for me though is their bitter honey and chocolate biscuit. The texture is more akin to shortbread but as soon as the depth of the honey flavour kicks in, I am transported to another state of being. If I can describe how I feel, the image would be ‘obsidian’. The combination of unique flavour combinations and pastries that are just technically impeccable propels this bakery as one of my top 5 London bakery instantly. I know that I will come back to try many more of their items.

I’m on the hunt for the best cardamom bun in London this autumn, and this morning I stopped by Toklas Bakery to try one of theirs. The price seemed fair enough for London, but the bun itself was a disappointment. It was slightly burnt (I’d already eaten the most charred part before taking the photo), and there was hardly any cardamom flavour—if any at all. You can’t even see a trace of spice in the pastry (see picture). Perhaps their other bakes are better, but I wouldn’t recommend the cardamom bun.

Really great pastries. And one of the soups I had back in February was divine. Would always come back. Their Sandwiches are dry as hell though. Don’t recommend them
Anna — Google review
A very sweet shop with a nice seating area – intimate lighting, not too loud, and a good choice of music. The staff were personable and welcoming. They had some interesting food creations that were very tempting, but quite a few items were already gone before midday. I had the Plum, Bay and Einkorn Galette – buttery, nutty pastry with just the right amount of sweetness. The bay flavour was very mild, only coming through in a few bites, and a few of the plum slices were a little bitter for my liking. I paired it with a single shot oat flat white, which was very nice – good flavour to the coffee as a single shot, with notes of earl grey tea, and served at a perfect temperature. It’s maybe not the best place to linger unless you’re ordering a lot, as there’s a steady stream of people coming in hoping to sit down. Towards the end of my visit, it felt like some customers were waiting for me to leave so they could snatch my table. It seems to attract a lot of corporate types on their lunch breaks, which might explain why it felt a bit rushed by the end. Worth the visit for the pastries and coffee. The lunches looked great as well so I’d definitely be returning.

Great service. The pastries look great but suffer from not tasting of much. Such a shame as I have high hopes for Toklas. I’ve been here a few times and now realise why I don’t go here that often. It’s not cheap either. Nice crockery that they serve the coffee in.

Read good reviews about the scones here and visited to try them out. They certainly didn’t disappoint! Both the fruit and plain scones were delicious and the raspberry jam was particularly lovely. The other cakes and pastries looked delicious as well. The interior was cosy and quaint with a lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend!

The best scones we've had! We loved visiting this little Cake Hole Cafe. It has a gorgeous vintage and eclectic vibe and the staff who run the cafe are just wonderful - so friendly and warm. The cakes and sweets are incredible and all homemade! We had the best cream tea here which was so special because we had friends visiting internationally. It's attached to a vintage store which you can enjoy after a delicious bite. A lot of love and care has gone into this humble cafe and we cannot wait to go back.

Lovely cake/coffee shop that is sort of hidden because you have to walk through a shop to get to it, and I would assume most people wouldn’t necessarily notice it. There is a sign in front of the shop but when it’s busy you could miss it. I really liked the place, it seemed less chaotic than the other coffee shops nearby, the coffee was good and the blueberry muffin so pretty I almost didn’t want to eat it. Spent some time reading and enjoying the treats before going back to the flower market outside. They also have a restroom but you need to ask the staff and they’ll give you the key.

Super cute and cosy cafe tucked into a vintage store. Came here specifically for the scones as I saw they were highly rated. Definitely not disappointed. So fresh and soft, comes with your choice of jam and clotted cream. We also got a pot of English breakfast tea and an Orange Earl Grey cake to share. The cake had authentic orange flavour and it was really moist too. Friendly service :) will be back for sure for more scones and cake!!

Customers praise the deliciousness and aesthetic appeal of April's Baker's cakes, with particular acclaim for their gluten-free options. The bakery also receives accolades for its responsiveness, ease of collaboration, and value for money.
I am so happy with my wedding cake, it was exactly how I wanted it. The cake was as beautiful as it was delicious. Unlike many bakeries, April's Baker offers a fantastic variety of flavours that are not boring at all, we tried two but I can imagine all the others to be just as tasty. The whole process was incredibly smooth and I also think the cakes are very fairly priced especially for the quality you get! I can't wait for another special occasion so I can get myself another wonderful cake!

We used April's Baker for our wedding cake and we were over the moon with our cake! Corinne was really helpful and answered all of our emails promptly. We were able to try several flavours of cakes through their cupcake box mixture. All of the flavours were fantastic and my partner and I thoroughly enjoyed trying all of them. Our wedding cake was decorated exactly how we asked and looked gorgeous - it was also delicious and super fluffy! We highly recommend April's Baker to all!

Obviously a very pretty cake but the taste was not there for me. Ordered for a 30th birthday cake and initially the communication was good however when I specifically asked about what the flavour and texture would be like I got no response. Paid £75 for this cake and I expected some level of communication as I didn't want a dry cake. It was very very dry in places and I wasn't overly impressed with the flavour. My whole family knew how excited I was to get a cake from Aprils baker but they were not that impressed either. The cake itself was 60% icing and minimal cake. I personally think what you're paying for is just the look which is fine for some people but the cake needs to actually taste good too for me. Hardly any flavour of strawberry and very little filling. (See pics below) To add on bows is £6 and to put the number '30' in black is an additional £2 to the £70 I paid for the cake! I declined the bows and made one out of ribbon I had at home. This cake didn't even serve 6 decent pieces of cake...the slices were very small and like I mentioned before half was icing. When it came to collect the cake i was told to buzz into the building and she came out and met me on the street with the cake. She asked me if I was happy with it but what am I going to say with her holding the cake out to me in the middle of the road? Yes visually it's pleasing but not much else. Also you have to bring your own carrier bag as they don't supply you with one. They have done well for themselves on social media and have lots of other good reviews but this is just my personal opinion on the cake. The pricing is justified for what other bakers charge that do a similar service and they have a huge folllowing and clientele so can get away with charging this much but I wouldn't mind paying if the price was worth it but for me this cake was a huge let down. I didnt bother contacting them to rectify or express my concerns as they did lay everything out in the email in a professional manner and were honest about cost and size of cake ect and highly doubt they would refund me. Once the cake is cut and half eaten hardly going to go back and demand a refund just had to accept the let down on flavour texture and taste.

I contacted Aprils Baker regarding a cake for my Birthday. Corinne was a delight to deal with and was understanding when I had issues with payment. She got exactly the design I was hoping for. I know cakes can be overruled by aesthetic but I have to say the sponge was beautifully light and flavourful and the buttercream frosting was beautiful and light. I’ve visited many bakeries some well renowned in New York and Paris and this was a delicious, light and stunning cake. The staff were helpful and extremely polite. I’m already looking for an excuse for the next one. Thanks all!!

We ordered our wedding cake from April's Baker and couldn't be more satisfied with the service. The cake itself was delicious, and very pretty. Exactly what we were looking for our small wedding in London. Prior to booking the cake, we ordered a cupcake box to try the flavours and decided to go with the champagne and strawberry - a lovely flavour and very popular with guests. April's Baker was also very professional from the start to end. They were also very punctual and professional when we had to collect the cake. All went well and we are really delighted to have found them!

I ordered two birthday cakes from April’s Baker in the last 2 months and they were both so yummy (we went for the plant based option as had allergies/dietary requirements we had to cater for) and also visually stunning - got a huge gasp from our friends when the cake was revealed! Ordering the cakes via the form on their website was super easy, and communication from then onwards via email was clear and friendly. Pick up of the cakes also went smoothly. I would highly recommend to any of my friends and will definitely be going back to them for any celebration cakes in the future!
