Demel is a historic Viennese pastry shop and chocolaterie that has been serving delectable treats since 1786. Located near the Hofburg palace, this elegant salon offers a charming ambiance with a shady terrace. The interior boasts spacious lounges where you can indulge in specialties like cream cakes, scones, and strudels. One of their must-try dishes is the Kaiserschmarrn, caramelized Austrian pancakes served with plum compote.
Went to the cafe and just wanted to say Elke was such an amazing and cheerful staff. From the moment she sat us down all the way till we left, and even to other customers around us too. She made our experience at the cafe better than we expected. Staff were super friendly, the food and atmosphere were great. Eating here made our experience in Vienna more memorable! Many thanks to Elke and the other amazing staff and chefs!

Huge line to seat in the cafe so I just got the Kaiserschmarrn for take away. It was super delicious and one of the best sweets I’ve had in Vienna. It’s a bit expensive but I think it worth it to try it when you are in Vienna. The store is also very beautiful itself and you can buy souvenirs. 💯 Great experience

The place looks really nice with a charming, antique atmosphere. We were lucky to arrive about 30 minutes before opening, as a queue started forming very quickly! Through the window, you can even watch the chef preparing Austrian pancakes, which adds a lovely authentic touch. The service was simple and fast, which we really appreciated. We ordered the Sacher and Kaiserschmarrn. The Sacher was excellent — when it arrived, I expected it to be dry or the chocolate too hard, but it was quite the opposite: moist cake and soft, rich chocolate. The Kaiserschmarrn were also very tasty, with hot and delicious plum jam on the side. To drink, we had a cappuccino, which had a nice, rich coffee flavor and perfectly frothy milk. Overall, it was a great experience — delicious food, cozy ambiance, and quick service. I would definitely recommend this place! ☕🍰

Stopped for a slice of their Sacher torte on my birthday last week while on my first-ever visit to Vienna. The place is gorgeous! You can smell the buttery vanilla Kaiserschmarrn right as you walk in and it just makes you all the more excited. The servers were really sweet. I asked for a little candle on my cake. They immediately congratulated me and along came my slice of Sacher torte with a lit candle on top. They knew I was going to take photos so they offered to come back and light the candle again if I needed them to. The Sacher was, of course, delicious! Coffee was good. My friend ordered the Kaiserschmarrn and it was lovely! We had a very good experience! Made my birthday feel special and I appreciate that very much 😊

Pricey but an experience. A short wait as seats with multiple floors. Anna cake was good but tasted like normal chocolate cake. Hot chocolate was indulgent and chocolatey. The pancakes were fluffy although not very hot or warm and didn’t have enough plum sauce to go with it Waitress was friendly and smiley. Toilets available.
Jennifer C — Google review
I visited because it was said to be one of Vienna's three best Sachertorte. I got it to go and had it with coffee. It was delicious, just the right amount of sweetness for me, especially when I was tired and needed a sugar boost.
MinKyung L — Google review
Demel’s Kaiserschmarrn is famous for its fluffy texture and caramelized sweetness. Once beloved by Emperor Franz Joseph, this imperial pancake served with powdered sugar and fruit compote embodies the elegance and charm of Viennese café culture. It is recommended to make a reservation. There was already a long queue at 10 am that day. The email address on the website is invalid.

Café Demel is like stepping straight into Vienna’s sweet history! This legendary café has been around for centuries and still feels as elegant and charming as ever. The interior is a mix of classic Viennese style and timeless luxury, making it the perfect spot to enjoy coffee and some of the best pastries in the city. One of my favorite parts? The shop section – where you can pick up chocolates, cakes, and all kinds of beautifully packaged treats to take home (or just eat on the way!). Everything feels special here – from the craftsmanship of the desserts to the atmosphere that blends tradition with a hint of royal charm. Yes, it can be busy, but that’s part of the experience – it’s Demel after all. If you want to taste a piece of Vienna’s sweet heritage, this is the place.

Cafe
Café Sacher Wien is a quintessential Austrian café located in the heart of Vienna, offering a typical Viennese coffee-house atmosphere and the opportunity to indulge in an Original Sacher-Torte. The café boasts a rich history, situated near Vienna's opulent opera house and adorned with elegant décor. Its signature dessert, the Sacher Torte, is a decadent dark-chocolate cake with a layer of tangy apricot jam, served with whipped cream.
Visiting Café Sacher in Munich was an unforgettable experience! From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the elegant, classic atmosphere—it feels truly special. I had their famous Sacher-Torte, and it was absolutely divine: rich, perfectly moist chocolate cake with a smooth layer of apricot jam. The coffee complemented it beautifully, and every detail, from the presentation to the service, felt top-notch. The staff were warm, professional, and attentive, making the visit even more enjoyable. This isn’t just a café; it’s a must-visit destination for anyone who appreciates fine desserts, quality coffee, and a touch of luxury. I can’t wait to return!
Webman T — Google review
This café is for you if you enjoy a condescending and inattentive service, albeit in a nice historical setting. There is often a long queue outside, however when we were sat upstairs, the floor was half-empty. Perhaps this is to create a sense of exclusivity or the service is simply lacking efficiency (as highlighted in other reviews). We came here for a meal and the cake. The server made it his mission to make this experience as awkward as possible. To start, he came across as quite rude and condescending. He proceeded to knock over one of our glasses, without apologising or cleaning up the contents on the table. The attention to detail was poor, as he forgot to bring the spoons for the soup, and the butter for the breads (we never got the butter). This is despite multiple reminders. Apart from that, the main attraction - Sachertorte - was nothing more than an average chocolate cake. We have had it plenty of times before in Salzburg and simply wanted to try it in the original location. Overall, I am aware that this review won’t stop tourists from visiting the café, but it would be a shame if their experience is tarnished by the same level of service we received. Hopefully they are able to make some much needed improvements to match the more pleasant experience we received in Sacher Salzburg Café, which would be fitting of this historical establishment.

Well I enjoyed it. I just went for the experience and a very nice afternoon hot chocolate and the famous Sacher Torte, which was everything I expected. There was a bit of a queue on a cold afternoon but hey, it's in all the guidebooks so it's going to be busy. Service was pleasant, quick and polite. To those who have given poor reviews I would say get over yourselves! The place is famous and will serve what has done it well for many years, so enjoy it for what it is.
Nick P — Google review
The place was stunning, but the waiter lady not so much. I mean, I don’t know what she expected us to order, but she looked at us like “omg just this?” Just because we didn’t all get something to drink and eat each of us. Not nice at all. Stop looking at people like they’re weird just because they have different opinions or make different choices! Anyway the food was okay but I’m not a fan of Sachertorte.
Melania D — Google review
Beautiful and classic atmosphere, with that traditional Viennese charm. The Sacher Torte is truly delicious and worth its reputation. However, my experience was affected by the attitude of one of the waiters. He slightly raised his voice and acted with a certain arrogance, as if placing himself above the guests, even while remaining outwardly calm. This small detail disturbed my peace during the visit and ended up ruining what could have been an excellent experience. In short: great dessert, pleasant setting, but the arrogance of the staff, especially this particular waiter, made the visit less enjoyable than expected.
Hilton V — Google review
We didn't stay. We went early evening after a bus tour, minimal queue, though the place was busy upstairs and down. The young lady who seated us was smiley and friendly. We had literally sat for 2 minutes when a male server asked if we were ready to order and before we had a chance he just said, 'no, not ready' and strode off. We were hoping to stay for dinner, looked at the menu for main meal ... but no vegetarian 😕 We asked the same server if there was a vegetarian menu. We were abruptly told, 'the menu you have is it.' And again he strode off, like we were an inconvenience or stupid for asking. We sat for another 5-10 minutes being ignored, wanting to ask if at least an omelette would be OK at this time of day. No friendly face came our way. It was then we left, we pointed out the server, to another and asked their name. The name of the male server was Michael. This person should not work in a customer service environment. He needs reminding that the customers who come pay his wages. He is not above any person who walks through those doors. Good customer service in a place of high reputation is key. We found a lovely Austrian Cafe not far away, with vegetarian options and live music, where the servers all smiled and nothing was too much trouble.

I visited with my baby. There was a space for the stroller, and they even had the same Stokke high chair we use at home, so my baby seemed really comfortable. He actually fell asleep in the chair. The café had such a lovely vibe, and the apple strudel was much better than the ones I’ve tried elsewhere. What really made the visit special, though, was the server with curly blonde hair. She had the warmest smile, and her positive energy just brightened the café. I left a little extra tip and got a small gift in return. which was such a lovely surprise. She truly matched the café! beautiful, sweet, and kind.

A beautiful, classy, ornate setting to try the famous sacher torte. The cake itself is nice but nothing special. However, as an experience it is a great thing to do as a tourist. We had lovely waitress too who was so friendly and nice.

Café Central, located in the Palais Ferstel complex, is a renowned Viennese venue with a rich historical legacy. Frequented by influential figures such as Freud and Trotsky, this café was a hub for literary and political discussions. Since its establishment in 1876, it has retained its late Romantic Historicism style despite post-WW2 renovations.
We had breakfast at Café Central, and it was an absolutely delightful experience. The historic ambiance and elegant architecture make you feel like you’ve stepped back in time — it’s truly one of Vienna’s most beautiful cafés. The breakfast was outstanding — fresh pastries, perfectly brewed coffee, and a variety of delicious options beautifully presented. The service was attentive and friendly, despite how busy the café gets. It’s easy to see why Café Central is such a Viennese institution — a perfect mix of charm, history, and great food. Definitely worth the wait and a must-do when in Vienna!
Asif A — Google review
Café Central is one of Vienna’s most iconic coffee houses, located inside the grand Palais Ferstel on Herrengasse. Stepping inside feels like entering another era—ornate columns, vaulted ceilings, and marble interiors capture the charm of 19th-century Vienna. This café wasn’t just about coffee; it was once the meeting place for some of Europe’s greatest minds. Regulars included Sigmund Freud, Leon Trotsky, Stefan Zweig, and even Adolf Loos. You can almost feel that intellectual energy still lingering in the air. It is open from Monday–Saturday from 08:00 – 21:00 and Sunday/public holidays from 10:00 – 21:00. The nearest metro station is the U-Bahn “Herrengasse” (U3) and it’s a short walk from major sights in the first district. Reservations are accepted online for up to 6 people (via their website). Larger groups need to call in. Walk-ins are possible but during busy times expect a wait. Service is professional but can be slow, especially during peak hours. Some standout dishes: the famous Apfelstrudel, Kaiser-Schmarrn, Backhendl mit Erdäpfel-Gurkensalat and classic Viennese coffee like a Wiener Melange. Prices are a bit steep compared to local cafés. Still, the experience is absolutely worth it for the atmosphere and history.
TheMindisCurious — Google review
Beautiful, beautiful cafe! But do yourself a favor and set a reservation. The line out the door, waiting for tables, was wild—with a reservation, we walked right on by! We had the einspänner, melange, apple strudel, and the warm chocolate cake. The cake was a must get! My apple strudel came out a bit cold. Wasn’t my favorite. I did see someone get the kaiserschmarrn and if I could do it over, I would 1000% get that!! Our server was lovely and attentive. It was a bit expensive, definitely cheaper cafe’s all over Vienna. But… this is obviously for tourists. So you should know what you are walking into!
Olivia H — Google review
Beautiful interior, very cozy place to sit down and relax over a nice cup of coffee and dessert. The Espresso served with whipped cream was excellent and very smooth. The apple strudel was one of the best I've eaten thus far. A thin crispy layer of pastry with plenty of apples, a bit of sourness combined with the sweetness of the cream, just melts in your mouth. The service was also excellent - staff very friendly and cheerful. I arrived at roughly 10AM, and only waited for roughly five minutes before being seated, but the queue might be longer closer to noon. Definitely worth the wait if not in a rush.
Eric H — Google review
I visited because it's said to be one of Vienna's top three Sachertorte. There was a long line in front of the store, but I got it to go and went right away. The staff greeted me with warm smiles and kindness, which made me feel very welcome. I had it with coffee, and while it was a bit too sweet for my taste, it was perfect for a day like today when I'm tired and need a sugar boost.
MinKyung L — Google review
I went for breakfast, and there was already a long queue outside — definitely book ahead if you don’t want to wait in the cold. The desserts are the highlight for sure: beautifully presented and genuinely delicious. The rest of the food was decent, but quite simple for the price, and you’re mostly paying for the experience rather than an exceptional meal. That said, the architecture is stunning. The high ceilings, arches, and overall interior make you feel like you’re sitting inside a historical postcard. Worth visiting at least once for the atmosphere and pastries, just go in knowing it’s more about the setting than the food.
Bianca L — Google review
Iconic venue in Central Vienna. Beautiful building inside and out. A short wait to get in (about 10 mins), but worth it. We ordered coffee, the amazing strudel with vanilla sauce and a slice of cream Schnitten. The waiter was really funny, professional and helpful. The atmosphere is fantastic, and has the 1800s feel to it. All the staff wear period clothing. Lovely experience. We visited around 11am on Thursday. The place looks amazing at night too.
Alex P — Google review
Overall experience was nice. The building and interior is very beautiful for sure and has its historic charm. Apple strudel we had was very beautiful and tasty. However we didn’t have a reservation and ended up in a line for more than 30min (beginning of November, weekday afternoon). After having seats, the atmosphere was a bit fussy and rushed due to the high demand and I wanted to quickly eat and leave. I was very curious about their apple strudel because I have heard they had the best one in Vienna. And it was good, but it’s overestimated as most cafes in the city have equally good strudels. Overall, I’m not sure if it’s worth standing in the long line and sitting in a busy atmosphere.

Cafe
K.u.K. Café-Konditorei L. Heiner is a renowned family-run pastry shop in Vienna, established since 1973, offering an extensive selection of handmade cakes and tarts. It is famous for inventing classics like the Kardinalschnitte and serving an enjoyable Sachertorte with moist texture, fruity jam, and tasty ganache.
I recently visited this classic café and had a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was cozy and charming—perfect for relaxing or catching up with friends. They serve incredibly delicious cakes that perfectly complement their well-brewed coffee. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which made the visit even more enjoyable. Prices are also quite reasonable for the quality and service offered. Highly recommend!

Went here to sooth my sweet tooth with a sachertorte. It was delicious. Perfectly chocolatey and sweet from the apricot filling. Staff's English is a bit rusty so be patient with them, can't expect everyone to know English after all!
Kenny A — Google review
As a first time tourist to Vienna, I almost didn’t eat the Sachertorte as there’s so many reviews at famous coffee houses about how dry or not special it is. But after much reading, I found my way here and it made me like this cake a lot - the cake is tasty, apricot jam is lovely and you need to have the dollop of whip cream to balance it all out. I had every last bite except the chocolate was too sweet, but otherwise was absolutely delicious with no regrets! Staff is really friendly for a traditional coffee house.
M. W — Google review
This terrific place is just up from St Stephen’s cathedral in Vienna and has traditional Austrian cakes and delicious coffee. The staff are all ages and dressed in traditional clothes which looks great. There is an upstairs section which is marvellous and has all the same fare as downstairs. Our tour guide recommended it as one of the three best traditional coffee venues. We ordered cakes too and the hot chocolate with whipped cream was sensational. It was a great introduction to Vienna.

Lovely traditionsl viennesse cafe and backery at the heart of old town. The cafe upstairsis very old style. They have all the famous Austrian cakes including the Sacher torte and Cremeschnitte. A very good and wide selection of coffees and teas. Their breakfast runs till 12pm every day and has good portion and selection too. Staffs are nice and friendly too. Definitely worth visit!

Really good cafe, with a lot of good options and nice view to the center. Very professional service especially the staff( Stella ) she’s incredibly friendly and welcoming and always happy to help with any inquiries you may have. Highly recommended ! And for sure I would love to come again. Reasonable prices
Ragahd A — Google review
A nice, but overpriced spot to sit and relax in after sightseeing in Vienna. I ordered a Sacher torte and pot of tea, with the cake being €5.60 and the tea being €6.50. I don’t mind paying for good food but the cake was very dry and the chocolate ganache had a funny taste. In the end I couldn’t actually finish it. The tea was fine but why was it €6.50? Coming from a rip off country I am used to surcharges but wow I really feel like that was an insane amount of money to pay for a pot of hot water and a generic non labelled tea bag. So while service was quick and the vibe of the place is good and comfy, I obviously can’t recommend coming here.

Honestly I don’t like chocolate cake but Sacher torte was one of the best. (1st floor) It was a moist and texture was good. Service ladies were so polite too

Gerstner K. u. K. Hofzuckerbäcker is a celebrated confectionary located in the magnificent Palais Todesco, opposite the Vienna State Opera. The historic establishment boasts gilded salons and frescos, offering a unique mix of shop and bar at this location that opened in December 2014.
A beautiful place to visit for exceptional quality coffee and apple strudel. Interior is to be admired situated opposite the Opera house. The staff are polite friendly and attentive. It is a very classy place and well worth the money spent . There was a lady playing the piano in the foyer which was a lovely touch. Highly recommend you fit in at least one visit on your vacation.

It’s a beautiful place, easily accessible from Karlsplatz and Stephansplatz U-Bahn stations (U1 line). The café has three floors, each nicely decorated and full of charm. My tip: when going upstairs, take a look at the cakes on display so you know which one to order — the menu unfortunately doesn’t have pictures. I ordered a chocolate cake and a cappuccino, and both were excellent. We sat facing the opera building and really enjoyed the view. Highly recommended!

Right opposite to the State Opera House, this cafe has 3 floors. The third floor is a cafe restaurent where light meals as well as their famous cakes. Food is outstanding and services attentive despite the fact that the shop is always full. Stunningly beautiful and comfortable, one can easily sit and relax for a few hours admiring the coffee culture of Vienna. Price is on the high side but well worth the quality.

A really lovely place to visit. The cakes were absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere is typical Viennese — very charming. We waited about 20 minutes for a table since we didn’t have a reservation. There’s also a smoking area between the buildings, accessible by elevator. I fully recommend this place!

A delightful pastry shop with an elegant and cozy atmosphere. The service was impeccable, and everything was exquisite! I loved my hot chocolate, the homemade lemonade, and the famous Viennese specialty — the Sachertorte — simply divine! A perfect place to relax and indulge in Vienna’s sweet tradition

I have to say, if I lived in Vienna, this would be my place to go every Saturday morning for breakfast. Even if it were just for a coffee, I swear, this is the most beautiful place I’ve ever been for breakfast. Seriously. And not only is the place beautiful, but the breakfast itself was amazing. Everything there, from the service, to the atmosphere, to the entrance, to the area where you leave your coats, even the bathrooms, everything is perfect. This place is a 10/10 in every way. There are standards… and then there is this place. This is the standard. I genuinely wish I lived in Vienna just so I could come here all the time. I also wish I could have gone more than once on my trip, but I needed to try other places and didn’t have much time. Still, I’m so glad we walked by, saw it, and decided to go in. It was unbelievable. The food is so good, the coffee is delicious, the service is great, and the desserts are amazing. It’s truly a 10/10 place. I have nothing bad to say, not even one thing. I don’t even have the words to explain how good it is. If you’re in Vienna and you see this place, go. It’s super chill, so good, and honestly unforgettable. Highly, highly, highly recommend.

If you’re planning a short stay in Vienna, I highly recommend Gerstner K.u.K. Hofzuckerbäcker. You can enjoy a beautiful 19th-century palace, sip mulled wine, try all kinds of strudels, and of course taste their signature pastries like Haustorte, Klimt Torte, and Kardinalschnitte. The service is extraordinary - especially Jessy, who hosted us and made our visit feel like home :)

Aida is a popular cafe located at Singerstrasse 1, near Stephensplatz and St. Stephens Cathedral in Vienna. The cafe's pink interior and second level seating with city views make it a must-visit spot for a colorful break. Aida offers an extensive coffee menu with detailed descriptions and pictures to help customers choose their perfect cup. While the cafe may lack some charm, its affordable prices and quick service make it a recommended stop.
Love AIDA. Hope you get lucky and get beautiful “Bernadette” as your Waitress. Fun, and speaks great English. But beware not all locations have the same menu. This location has breakfast all day. The egg dishes included a Scrambled options which comes with a small salad and 2 slices of toast. Cappuccinos were nice and strong. Neighboring tables were enjoying Ice Cream dishes and Cakes, desserts. All of it looked amazing. Crowd outside was good. Busy area. Lots of people watching. Close to Stephan Platz Church. Come here to relax. Highly recommend this particular location. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Centrally located in Vienna town. It claimed to serve the 'best coffee and cakes' but we didn't think so. The fruit smoothy I got was tasteless, felt it was made with water and not juice. Price is reasonable though. Service staff is attentive and got a sense of humour, otherwise I would have rated this a 1-star place.
Dominique C — Google review
Service is too low and too rude. I chose this brunch several times, but still no chance. They are not friendly and the service quality is not high. Despite the service location being great. The view is also awesome. Sweets are fresh and tasty. Especially local applesweet is good here. At least for takeaway, I recommend to try. Other deserts are a bit costly.
Fatima A — Google review
This place is supposed to be a ‘low cost alternative’ to caffès like Cafe Central, Landtman…. However, the price was almost the same as in more iconic places and you even have to pay to go to the toilet despite having consumed in the Café. The coffees were good but de Kaiserschmarrn was nothing highlightable (I’d recommend to taste others like Demel’s as you’ll get better quality and experience)
Ariadna M — Google review
Coffee Aida is a decent café located in a very tourist-friendly area of Vienna, making it a convenient stop for visitors exploring the city. The location is definitely a plus if you’re sightseeing and need a quick coffee break. While the café offers a pleasant atmosphere and good service—the staff are friendly and welcoming—the menu is relatively limited compared to other coffee spots in Vienna. If you’re looking for a wide variety of specialty drinks or artisanal pastries, you might find more exciting options elsewhere in the city. That said, Aida maintains a classic Viennese charm and is a reliable choice for a simple coffee and snack. It’s not the most innovative or diverse café, but it delivers a consistent experience with courteous service. 👍 Good for a quick stop in a tourist zone 👎 Limited menu compared to other Viennese cafés 😊 Friendly staff and clean environment

The hot chocolate at Aida in Vienna is absolutely delicious! Rich, creamy, and perfectly smooth, it’s pure indulgence in a cup. The flavor is intense but well balanced, making it one of the best hot chocolates I’ve ever tasted. A must-try for any chocolate lover visiting Vienna!

A cozy coffee shop with a wonderfully delicious selection of cakes fresh, flavorful, and definitely the highlight of the visit. The coffee, however, could be improved in terms of richness and overall quality. Still, the friendly ambiance and great desserts make it a nice spot for a sweet treat.

Joseph Brot is a renowned artisanal bakery in Vienna that prides itself on using ancient grains from Austrian farms and focusing on all-organic ingredients and products. The owners are even constructing their own mill outside the city to ensure the quality of their baked goods. With several locations around the city, Joseph Brot offers not only delicious sourdough bread, humble sandwiches, and pastries but also a small selection of organic and natural wines from Austria.
We bought Spelt bread. Its amazing, was hot out of the oven and it’s zero added yeast, pure sourdough🫶🏼 Pity, there was no gluten free to try( We were shopping around 16.30. Yes, pricey, around 8 euros per pieces

Stopped by here when we got rained on. Place is clean, although their dining area is closed. So, we have to eat our croissant standing at the side with our latte. 😝 Coffee is good! They have variety of choices of baked goods.

Me and my significant other enjoyed Joseph Brot. The atmosphere was nice, not too crowded, you have space and you are able to hear the person next to you without a problem. We ate the Strudel and it was simply the most amazing strudel we have ever tried, definitely recommend. Our coffee was the chocolate one and it was really nice, but not that strong if you are in need for awakening. Great place, worth a visit.

I LOVE BREAD. I was told that Vienna has the best bakers in Europe. They were not wrong. This was my first baker destination in Vienna and it was an excellent choice. I loved their bread. I loved their coffee. They might not have a seating area but you can enjoy the baking goods in the public area. EXCELLENT . LOVED IT .

Perhaps I should have tried different bread the viennoiseries were bit disappointing & very pricey for what it is. Der Man, the bakery next door, is really excellent on the contrary.

Café Landtmann is a renowned Vienna café and restaurant located near several city attractions. The interior features a series of interconnected rooms with cozy seating options, creating a bustling and cosmopolitan atmosphere. The café has been frequented by famous figures such as Sigmund Freud, Marlene Dietrich, Romy Schneider, Paul McCartney, and Hillary Clinton. It offers sophisticated desserts in an opulent setting adorned with wood-paneled walls and old-fashioned lights.
It is recommended to make an reservation online as there are many people queuing! Vienna’s coffeehouses are known as the city’s elegant living rooms, where time flows slowly and conversations flourish. Beloved by writers, artists, and intellectuals, these cafés offer a refined space for reflection and dialogue. A cup of Wiener Melange, the city’s signature coffee blend of espresso and frothy milk, perfectly embodies this graceful tradition of culture, comfort, and contemplation.

Café Landtmann is a beautiful spot in the heart of Vienna, known for its elegant, traditional Austrian interior. The atmosphere feels timeless and charming, making it a perfect place to relax and soak in Viennese café culture. Their coffee and cakes are exceptional — especially the classic tortes — which explains why both locals and tourists love coming here. It’s not just a café, it’s a piece of Vienna’s history.

A true Viennese classic! Café Landtmann is a real Viennese institution – and now I understand why! We tried the sausage selection, the breaded veal, and finally the Kaiserschmarrn – everything was absolutely delicious, both in flavor and presentation. The veal was perfectly tender, and the Kaiserschmarrn came freshly made with a lovely homemade jam. The service was excellent – polite, attentive, and genuinely friendly. A wonderful experience that truly captures the spirit of Vienna. We’ll definitely come back!

Good one for Breakfast with a lovely outdoor seating set-up as well. We sat inside though due to the cold weather in early November. Tried Melange coffee which is the authentic vienesse coffee and omlette which was good. Croissant wasn't the best I had in Vienna though. Lot of tourist places to explore nearby after breakfast.

The Food was really good and fast. But after the first 5min we were completely ignored. We were about to ask for another beer, a desert and more softdrinks. We were a table of 4 and put in a "private" ( more like hidden) room, keept waving for a few minutes but we all gave up and decide to just get up to find a waiter, pay for what we ate and find somewhere else.

Elegant & refined old school grand cafe. We booked here for lunch after our historical walking tour and it was the perfect spot to relax & absorb all the amazing history we’d just learnt. Firstly the indoor seating area is just beautiful and so elegant and stylish. Secondly the service was excellent- super friendly and welcoming. Thirdly, the food was superb- they have a wonderful all-day menu. Very traditional Austrian food. The sausage plate was utterly delicious, as was the potato salad. The grand finale was the cakes - wow, the glass cake cabinet is lined with one beautiful cake after another. And perfectly paired on a hot summers day with an ice coffee. Perfection. Make sure you book in advance. Highly recommended.

The restaurant was pretty full when I walked in but it was just me so they walked me to my table right away. The servers were efficient and polite. The food came out quite quickly after I ordered it. I had the pumpkin risotto with chicken and that was delicious. I was certainly not going to skip dessert, so I ordered the apple strudel with custard, which was heavenly. The crust is very thin and flaky. The apples were perfectly cooked and the custard was so creamy and light. I bought a Bundt cake to take home and asked for a box which was a little complicated to get because they were technically out of them. But the gentleman who was helping me managed to get me a box which I very much appreciate because otherwise the Bundt cake would’ve turned into a pancake on my 24 hour flight back home. So to that gentleman, thanks again!

I’m sure that most of the time, the service is great. However, we went there as a group of five and for some reason “the kitchen confused our order with another table so they thought they have made it already”… We waited for 50 minutes for a breakfast… When we got the food, it was very good, with beautiful esthetics-we enjoyed it. Hopefully it won’t happen next time I visit Vienna 🫡

Cafe
Café Hawelka, a beloved Viennese establishment, has been serving up sweet rolls and coffee since 1939. The café's old-world charm is evident in its dimly lit dining room and bohemian furnishings that have remained largely unchanged over the years. Frequented by artists and writers, including notable figures like Oscar Werner and Andy Warhol, Café Hawelka exudes an atmosphere perfect for leisurely afternoons spent with a good book or newspaper.
This café carries the charm of time — the owner warmly greets every guest. Its Sachertorte is a bit on the dry side compared to Café Sacher’s, but still quite tasty. The Apfelstrudel filling is delicious, somewhat reminiscent of a McDonald’s apple pie. Paired with a cup of Schale Gold, it’s simply wonderful.
Tony L — Google review
Visited as many guide books suggested to enjoy among other best coffee shops in the Vienna historical center. picked up buchteln, a set of rolls filled with hot cherry gem, which did not disappoint. nor disappointed excellent coffee seemed with a small jar of milk and a glass of water. The servers though, mostly middle age+ men dressed in classic servant suits of the past looked very relevant to the venue. What did not feel too relevant was their attitude toward the guests, at least those who did not speak German (I noticed a substantial difference in the way they served in German at the table next to me). Perhaps it came from the times when the server was confident they were more important than the customer, I was not sure. but it did not impress an experienced traveler like myself: we are just in very different times, I.e. the younger generation of those work in Vienna food industry know a lot better how to serve.
Agusto C — Google review
It's not often these days that you see people sitting in a cafe and reading a newspaper. Rarer still, is someone reading a newspaper on a reading stand in a cafe. But such is the atmosphere in Hawelka that this seems natural. The worn out - but stable - wooden chairs, the old school furniture, the dimly lit interiors, all bear testimony to the vintage credentials of Cafe Hawelka. I'll say the food is not out of the world (for instance we've had better apple strudels in much less celebrated shops elsewhere), but certainly serviceable. A visit to this place is recommended.
Dinesh I — Google review
Café Hawelka lets you feel the atmosphere of old Vienna. I tried Wiener Melange for the first time, and it was absolutely delightful! The Sacher Torte was moist and tasty, and the service was impressively fast despite the crowds. It was a bit hot and cramped, but still — it’s definitely a must-visit spot!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ — A True Viennese Classic with Timeless Charm Café Hawelka is one of those legendary Vienna coffeehouses that feels like stepping back in time — and in all the best ways. We visited as a group of about 10 people during a guided tour around the city, and it turned out to be one of the most pleasant and memorable stops of the day. ⸻ Atmosphere: The café exudes old-world charm, with cozy, dim lighting, vintage furniture, and a lived-in warmth that makes you feel like you’re part of Vienna’s long-standing coffeehouse tradition. You can almost imagine the writers, artists, and thinkers who once gathered here. It’s the kind of place where time slows down — and that’s the point. ⸻ Food & Coffee: The coffee was excellent — rich, smooth, and exactly what you’d hope for in a historic Viennese café. The desserts were equally great, especially the traditional pastries that go perfectly with a warm cup. Everything was served in a laid-back, no-rush manner that felt genuinely authentic. ⸻ Experience: This isn’t just a café — it’s a slice of Viennese history, and our group truly appreciated the ambiance. Even with 10 people, we were able to sit comfortably and enjoy the experience. It’s not flashy or touristy — it’s classic, understated, and full of character. ⸻ Final Thoughts: If you want a break from the polished modern cafés and are looking to connect with the real heart of Vienna, Café Hawelka is a must. Great coffee, delicious pastries, and a timeless setting that’s worth savoring. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience the soul of the city.
Brandon B — Google review
The cafe looks so beautiful with its vintage charm and warm coffees that feel like a hug. With watercolour paintings adorning the walls, poems, people having conversation with a newspaper in hand, everything makes it a memorable experience. It has a history of welcoming and inspiring artists and one can see why.

Café Schwarzenberg is a historic and traditional café located on Vienna's famous Ringstrasse. It boasts a charming interior with warm wood panels, heavy damask curtains, and leather upholstered chairs. The café offers a variety of specialty coffees made from FAIRTRADE Arabica beans, as well as classic Viennese breakfast options and delicious cakes. Visitors can enjoy live piano music on select evenings while sipping on their coffee or tea.
Food is out of this world for light and quick lunch or dinner or pleasant long dine in. Service is outstanding. As far as dishes it's self will recommend for soup - liver dumpling soup with beef broth, schwarzenberg sausages with horseradish, mustard and roll. Desert is separate story, after trying many different types of apple strudel - Wien /Vienna strudel (warm /hot) is far the best - moisture, juice, thin.

Charming coffee spot with good service and a cozy atmosphere. The selection of pastries and desserts was inviting, and the cappuccino melange was smooth and flavorful. Café Schwarzenberg is a beautiful and historic café with a classic Viennese atmosphere. The coffee and pastries were excellent, and the staff were polite and professional despite being quite busy. During my visit, I did notice a couple of disgruntled customers who had a complaint and were ultimately given their meal for free. As I was leaving, one of them even joked loudly that she’d “try complaining every time” to get free meals, which was a bit surprising. That said, my own experience was very pleasant. The service was attentive, and the quality of food and drink was wonderful. I’d still recommend it to anyone looking to enjoy an authentic Viennese experience.

Badly received! I was with my big kids and a dog yesterday 39th August 2025 between 9:30 and 10 AM, for a breakfast. I asked politely to the server: is the dog allowed ? he gave me a dirty reply “ dog is allowed but not you!’ I could have turned by back and left but I didn’t react , I said so funny way to greet a client. Above all they needed tips . I gave them but not high tips anyway. For sure I will never step in there. Arrogant people. Then only guy smiling was an Indian guy i suppose with a steel bangle. The others no smile , how can they recruit people so arrogant. I can recruit better ones for them!!! It is a shame. 🥵 attitude has to change we are in the 22st century!!!

Café Sperl, a historic coffeehouse dating back to 1880, is a quintessential part of Vienna's cafe culture. It was once a popular hangout for artists, writers, and even royalty until the Nazis intervened during their reign. The cafe is famous for its opulent and timeless ambiance that embodies the Austrian concept of gemutlich - warmth, comfort, and familiarity.
I definitely recommend this place for an authentic Viennese experience. You can enjoy the full-day breakfast or the regular dishes. There are tons of coffee specialties. The atmosphere is delightful and the service is nice. Make sure you check out opening times as they tend to be closed on Sundays during the summer time. Please enjoy the beautiful seating area inside as they have never changed it since the day they opened.

The true Viennese atmosphere is here. For a coffee or a breakfast all day is good. Recommend this place 100%. You have to walk a bit outside the city centre but it’s worth it. Reasonable price and good food. Coffee is very good. Better to book a table, queue is often but it moves quick.

Absolutely brilliant experience. I came here from a review to enjoy "classic Vienna cafe experience". And I think I got exactly that! The place was nice, with the furniture and layout feeling very authentic. Around us were local people. Having their morning coffee and reading newspaper. The coffee, pastry and egg sausage were all great. Highly recommend the Sperl chocolate cake! We went there at around 9AM, and no wait time needed however around 30' later there was already a waiting line formed. Highly recommend this place!

Though located slightly further from city center, the price per portion was much better than some of the other cafes. Staff was also very friendly, and gave us the choice of where to sit, instead of immediately deciding for us. The weiner schnitzel was succulent and wasn't too filling, which was great, as it allowed room for a cup of coffee and dessert. The included potato salad is my personal favorite from all the restaurants I've eaten - there isn't as much acidity, and much "smoother" to eat. It's so good that I could eat just the salad as a main dish. The apple strudel was also excellent. Instead of apple chunks, the pie was layered with thin apple slices. The sourness of the apples combined with the whipped cream were a perfect match. Despite my short stay in Vienna, this is definitely my go to place the next time I return.

I really wanted to try one of the traditional cafes in Vienna, and this is the one we chose. It was really nice in the inside, probably with the same decor since when it opened, but it had a lot of charm. The Sperl Torte was really delicious and both coffees were great too. Service was very good and slow, as expected. :-) I can imagine the "slow living" they are famous for.

I’ve been cafe-hopping around Vienna, and Cafe Sperl truly stands out — the food quality here is far more delicious than many other popular spots. Tucked away in a quaint corner, it feels like a hidden gem beloved by locals. I didn’t bump into any other tourists during my visit. The staff are lovely, and the place exudes a peaceful old-world charm and timeless elegance. I wish I lived in Vienna so I could come back more often. Thank you for such a wonderful experience — and as a bonus, it’s one of the filming locations from Before Sunrise, which adds a touch of movie magic to the visit!

What a cute and lovely experience to step into this cafe. Very warm and welcoming staff. Really nice coffee. Nice, simple and healthy cooking of dishes. Really cute idea to get a token to order a slice of cake directly at the counter.

This is a really nice, cozy cafe with a great atmosphere, perfect for a relaxing afternoon. Let's talk about the cakes: they were truly amazing. I highly recommend trying them. They're definitely the highlight! The service system is a little unique: you have to buy tokens from the waiter, which you then exchange for the cake of your choice at the counter. It worked fine, but be prepared for that step. The coffee was okay-ish (nothing special, but totally drinkable). Just be warned, this place gets crowded. If you don't have a reservation, expect to wait a little for a table, but honestly, the cakes make the wait worth it!

As I understand it, this café has a social mission - that’s probably the only thing that can justify such high prices for everything. The coffee is good, and the cake is tasty too. The breakfast with a sandwich is quite ordinary, nothing special. The atmosphere itself is unusual; you can spend a long time looking around - there are lots of little details. It’s worth booking a table in advance, even on a weekday.

This is a lovely and charming restaurant–coffeehouse. The staff are exceptionally attentive and genuinely friendly — something you don’t often find in Vienna. It’s the perfect spot for tourists exploring the city. Walking into the restaurant feels like being hugged by your grandmother — cozy, comforting, and full of warmth. The desserts were freshly made, warm, and absolutely delicious. My only complaint was that it was very pricey. I ordered two mélange and two apple strudels which total €27.

We were in Vienna for a few days for my Mum's 60th birthday, and decided to drop into the Vollpension having seen it on TV in the UK. It most definitely lived up to expectations - we ate the buchtel and it was delicious, and the atmosphere of the place is so quaint and cosy, you really do feel like you're in Granny's living room! The highlight was the staff - so welcoming and so chatty, and when they found out it was Mum's birthday, it wasn't long before a free cake with a candle was coming out and they were singing happy birthday to her! Such a treat, and a definite highlight of our trip. A hidden gem that I would recommend to anyone visiting Vienna!

Great place for cakes, cookies, and other pastries. We had lime cake, chocolate cake and some cookies. The coffee was OK, nothing special, the latte was weak. The place was crowded and a bit noisy, I don't know if there is a quiet time in this shop location. Having said all that, the pastries do make up for everything (almost🤪).

Perfectly situated with inviting outdoor seating that catches abundant natural light, this spot offers an impressive array of authentic Austrian dishes and beverages. The lively atmosphere and steady stream of patrons create an energetic buzz that speaks to its well-deserved popularity.

I absolutely loved this place! 🤗 Delicious coffee and incredible desserts – there were so many options that I honestly felt a bit overwhelmed at first (because I wanted everything!). Definitely a spot worth coming back to again and again to try more and find your favorites. My top pick was the chocolate mousse cake – it was so good that by the time I realized I should take a photo, it was already gone 😋🤪

Beautiful cafe with the most wonderful food you find in Vienna, when we are in Vienna we eat at the Oberlaa almost every day, the food is delicious, fresh and the cakes are gorgeous too. The service is good too. The best dish is pieces of breaded chicken with potato salad and lambs lettuce. The coffee is amazing too.

I tried the Sacher Torte from Kurkonditorei OBERLAA as a takeaway, and while I’m not sure how it compares to the original at Café Sacher, the texture and flavor were quite different from what I expected. The cake was dense and slightly dry, with a smooth chocolate glaze that wasn’t overly rich. The apricot jam layer was subtle, adding a mild fruity tang, though I wish it had been more pronounced to balance the chocolate. While the cake wasn’t exactly my type, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the experience pleasant. The price is also significantly lower than at Sacher Café, so it’s a great budget-friendly option if you’re curious to try a different take on this Viennese classic.

A beautiful Viennese café right in the heart of Vienna, We were so happy to find the perfect gluten-free desserts and sweet treats here. The service was excellent, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. We both enjoyed delicious gluten-free cake, my partner had a hot chocolate and I had a cappuccino, and both drinks were outstanding and well worth the price. We were really glad to experience this charming café and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Vienna

If you want to taste 20th century pastries that are free from the traditional taste (rich, sweet, hard) of Vienna's 18th and 19th century cakes, this is the place for you. Founded in 1974, it has more than 10 stores in Vienna and is well-established among locals. The strawberry torte was really delicious. This was the only cake in Vienna that I wanted to eat again.

Conditorei Sluka, located at Rathausplatz 8, is the original and highly regarded spot for Viennese pastry making. The cafe gained its high reputation after winning the 1898 Vienna Culinary Arts Competition and has since been synonymous with top-notch quality. It offers a perfect opportunity to savor Austrian sweets without enduring long lines. Visitors can indulge in a variety of delectable pastries, including the renowned Sacher cake and apple strudel.
A local recommended this place. I came here for a dessert and drink. Food: 5/5 - if you enjoy desserts, try the cardinal slice. It’s a light dessert cake with a mousse type of filling. It tasted light and airy. They offer a variety of desserts and general foods like sandwiches. The prices are reasonable considering you’re getting quality food. Service: 5/5 server was friendly and efficient Atmosphere: 5/5 nice classic feel to the place with plenty of seating. There’s both indoor and outdoor seating.

Very lovely spot in Vienna, the waitress was super friendly and nothing but amazing she gave us a brief about all of the desserts and what suits us since we look for Halal options. The desserts were delicious and the coffee was very good. Highly recommended if you are walking around Kränter street and looking for nice place for dessert and coffee.

We took a walking tour of Vienna and at the end we asked the guide to recommend a coffee shop - he sent us here and I'm glad. It was a great setting and gave us so flavorful an impression of Vienna. As our guide said, we had to walk to the back of the store for the better seating and experience. The building itself was beautiful and all the various pastries were had to choose from - they all looked good. Light meals were also served but we were headed to dinner soon so chose to wait on those.

This café is located right in the center of Vienna, with a classic style and an impressively spacious interior — big enough to accommodate a large group. I visited early in the morning and noticed that many locals were enjoying their morning coffee there. I had a hot chocolate, which was sweet and delicious. I also tried their signature chocolate cake, it tasted better with the whipped cream, but it was too sweet for me to finish alone. The staff were incredibly kind and friendly, so we ended up leaving a tip for our server.

Another historic pastry café in Vienna’s old town – feels like every corner here has a shop with a few hundred years of history! Sluka is one of those charming spots, with elegant pastries and cakes beautifully displayed to tempt you. We stopped in for coffee with cream and some sweets after a long walk around the old town. Indoor seating is small, but the outdoor area is bigger and a nice place to people-watch. Service was okay – a little hard to flag down a waiter – but there was no wait to be seated. A good place to take a break and enjoy classic Viennese treats.

Great place centraly located. History, architecture, nice coffee and delicious food+polite personal. I tried apple strudel 🏆, Esterhazy torte (the top was too sweet for my taste, but the layers were amazing) , Punschkrapferl (pink one) is surprisingly good and is better for someone on a diet :))) Melange coffee I love. Thank you Sluka, was great to speak with both men, very helpful greek waiter and bulgarian young boy batista. Na sluka!

This is a very nice café, we enjoyed the Sacher torte and delicious café au lait. Service was good and there was available seating when we went there at 11am on a Saturday.

Unfortunately we had a bad experience here. Party of 5 looking for lovely cakes and coffee. While looking at the counter to decide as we did not know the language the owner motioned for us to go sit outside which we did. Nobody came. Waiting. Waiting. The owner was behind the counter serving others and one of us went inside to try to get served. The waitress ignored her. The shop was not busy. One of us decided to get a wurst from another shop. That brought the waitress out almost immediately to shoo us away. She was not interested in our waiting time and terrible service just that we were not to eat outside food at their tables. We know this is not acceptable but neither was the service. As we left I returned to take a photo of the shop for friends the waitress was really rude. We went 100m further to an authentic coffee shop And five stars for that one.

Brass Monkey is a charming coffee shop located on Gumpendorfer Strasse in Vienna. The cafe features a shabby-chic style and offers a variety of breakfast options, including vegan choices. In addition to their delicious cupcakes, the cafe serves snacks, cakes, cookies, and brownies. Guests can also enjoy Greek coffee from Taf and hot chocolate from France. Despite its small size with limited seating, the cafe has garnered positive reviews for its friendly staff and quick service.
Definitely stop by if you can. I was here twice, once in the evening and once during the day. They have hands down THE BEST cupcakes I’ve ever eaten and this is not an exaggeration :) the pistachio cream was 12/10. The barista, a Greek lady (I didn’t ask for her name, sorry!) was super friendly and made me feel very welcome the first time. So much so I came back the day after to try the peanut butter cupcake she recommended. It’s good… but I’m still team pistachio.

Out of about 10 third wave places I tried on my trip to Vienna, this was the best. I tried another branch of theirs and it wasn’t as good, this branch is where it’s at! The barista just knows he has the best coffee and the swag vibe is on point. The 8.8 flat white had the strength and milkwork balanced of some of the best out there. The beans were well selected.

Great especially coffee. I loved my cappuccino although I usually drink flat white. I also tried the brownie, croissant and chocolate croissant was the best. They also gave me a free coffee as a good gesture because I bought a lot of stuff ☺️.

Nestled in the heart of Vienna, Hotel Sacher Wien is an opulent and iconic establishment located just across from the renowned State Opera House. Its strategic location provides easy access to Vienna's vibrant attractions and transportation hubs. The hotel boasts elegant accommodations, two refined restaurants - Rote Bar and Grune Bar, serving international and Viennese cuisine, a terrace bar for unwinding, and a full-service spa for relaxation.
I spent three unforgettable nights at Hotel Sacher and loved every single moment. From the moment I arrived, every member of the staff went above and beyond — genuinely kind, impeccably professional, and attentive to every detail. Their warmth and care didn’t just meet expectations, they defined them. My room was exquisite, the breakfast selection was endless, and the décor throughout the hotel was nothing short of breathtaking. It’s a rare experience when luxury feels this personal. I would be absolutely honored to return and will enthusiastically recommend Hotel Sacher to everyone I know.

Okay, yes I bought into the hype. We lined up on our second day and celebrated my birthday there. The ambiance is undeniable. It is decadent in every aspect. I have to say I understand why people want to gather there it is so beautiful, but trust me the famous sachertorte is a waste of money. The hype on this cake is 1000x overrated. I would have preferred any number of desserts ahead of this. And trust me it's no better at Demel or any other place. What Sacher Cafe has is a refined almost snouty heir that must be experienced. Go there for the experience get dessert somewhere else.

My family and I had coffee and cakes upstairs in the café. The children were delighted with the wonderful chandelier which hung by the stairs between the ground and first floor. Sachers was a breath of old and elegant Vienna after our visit to see the incredible Spanish Riding School performance.

Many thanks to the fantastic team at Sacher Hotel Wien who made our stay (03-06 Oct 25) so memorable. Although we had been to Vienna many times in the past this was our first time at the splendid Sacher, together with friends, and we were certainly not disappointed! A short guided tour allowed us to get our bearings before being shown to our elegant Signature Suite room with view. Following the most marvellous breakfast, blue skies greeted us on the first morning for our open top carriage tour together with silver tray Sacher Cuvee (arranged by the ever helpful concierge) from the front of the hotel. Our long weekend took in a fabulous performance of the Spanish Riding School only a short walk away. We had the pleasure of dining in the Rote Bar and enjoyed drinks in the delightful Blaue Bar whilst there, both of which we would highly recommend. A beautiful hotel and most wonderful experience all round, attributable in no small part to the truly outstanding group of colleagues who work there. We look forward to visiting again.

This was my first stay at the Sacher and first visit to Vienna. I was simply blown away by the incredible level of service, warmth, professionalism and the overall property itself. This place is special. From the amazing staff to the location to the wonderful rooms and restaurant the Sacher by far exceeded my expectations. I had the best birthday yet and I owe it all to the team at this hotel. This will be my home whenever I'm in Vienna. You never forget how people make you feel and the top tier hospitality that was extended to me during my stay I will never forget. Thank you to the Management and staff for all that you do! I hope to return next year. With Gratitude and thanks -Troy

I spent one wonderful night at Hotel Sacher in 2024, and it was truly memorable. The staff were exceptionally kind, professional, and attentive, making me feel very welcome. My room was beautiful, the breakfast was delicious, and the hotel’s elegant decor created a perfect atmosphere. Luxury and comfort combined in the best way. I would gladly return and highly recommend Hotel Sacher to anyone visiting Vienna.

Complaint Regarding Unprofessional Behavior at Sacher Restaurant I am writing to express my disappointment regarding the behavior of one of the supervisors in the black suit during my recent visit to the Sacher Restaurant. I kindly asked if I could sit at a table near the window, and the supervisor responded in a very rude and abrupt way, telling me it was reserved. However, shortly after, two guests who arrived after me requested to move to another table, and he immediately accommodated them without hesitation. This inconsistent treatment made me feel disrespected and unwelcome. I believe all guests should be treated with the same courtesy and professionalism, especially in an establishment known for its high standards. I hope you will look into this matter, as such behavior does not reflect the reputation of Hotel Sacher.

Really good Service, I know it should be expected from a hotel like this, but out of experience it's not always the case! We came spontaneous as a group of 8 people and could find a place in the bar area after waiting some time! The bar personell was friendly and welcoming! The only minus point I could say, is that I find it strange to not be able to talk the local language (German) with the waiters employees, but that is not substracted from the rating! All in all it was a really nice evening! We will come again!
Tobias K — Google review
I'm glad they had two vegan options for dessert. They have no vegan lunch options. The chocolate mousse is delicious. The banana muffin was overcooked and chewy. The ginger tea was 11 euros but it was a quality tea so I could see why it was more expensive. It was worth experiencing once but I wouldn't come back.

Unfortunately, our visit to this café was marred by a racist experience. The hostess seemed displeased to see us, and with an air of glee, informed us that a reservation was required. However, another host eventually seated us. We had a long drive earlier that morning at the speedway and after checking into our beautiful hotel decided to try this elegant café. We eagerly anticipated excellent service and exceptional classic Viennese coffee service and dessert. Sadly, the service fell short of our expectations, and we won't be returning.

We arrived at the restaurant as a couple and each of us ordered a delicious soup. We shared a vegetarian dish, which was one of the few options available at the restaurant, and unfortunately, it was not at all successful. We left most of it untouched, and the staff did not inquire about it. The dessert, however, was acceptable. In the end, we paid 100 euros for dessert, soup, and a meal that we did not consume.

Oh boy, what a cozy little place that I can truly recommend! We went there for Sunday brunch, and it was a lovely experience. The restaurant has the charm of a living room, making you feel right at home. The buffet offered a good variety of dishes to try, all of which were vegan. It’s not comparable to high-end brunch spots, but the price-to-quality ratio is great. What really stands out is the warm and welcoming atmosphere. Öfferl is a popular bakery in Neubaugasse, known for its friendly customer service and efficient staff. The bread and pastries, including the jaw-breaking German varieties, are highly recommended. Loved Öfferl from outside, but was amazed when I first tried. In the early Sunday morning, there are not lots of places open and offering excellent breakfast options to grab and go. 🍞 One of the coolest sourdough bakeries I found in Vienna — clean, modern, and seriously well-crafted bread. I visited the Offerl café near St. Stephen’s Cathedral, and the whole vibe was minimalist yet welcoming. They specialize in organic sourdough breads, and that’s exactly what I came for. I used to be all about sweet breads — chocolate, whipped cream, the works. But now? I’m firmly in my chewy, crusty bread era. ciabatta, baguettes, and anything sourdough. I took mine hotel and had it for breakfast with olive oil and balsamic — and it was perfect. Lightly tangy with just the right chew. You can taste the quality here. Definitely a bakery worth visiting if you’re into real bread, not the fluffy factory stuff 👏👏👏

Hübler Kaffee - Konditorei is a classic Viennese cafe known for its exceptional cakes and pastries, particularly the renowned Esterhazytorte. Despite its unassuming appearance, this establishment offers an extensive selection of delectable sweet and savory delicacies that can make choosing quite challenging. The attentive and friendly staff further enhance the experience, making it a highly recommended hidden gem.
There are some patisseries and cafes that are traditional. You can visit this neighborhood cafe, which is not in the center of Vienna, near the Ottakring brewery. You can taste different flavors of pastries, breakfast flavors and meringues at any time of the day. We tried chestnut cake and truffle cake in this cafe, which has been operating since 1955. Both were delicious. I recommend this neighborhood cafe, which you can visit without an appointment.

If you can make it here from the center of the city, you will be richly rewarded by the finest of all cakes and tortes. It’s not about the looks of the place. Everything here is in the cakes and pastries, which are clearly outstanding. I’d say it’s one of the best Sacher cakes in town! For 55 years, the owners have produced a large variety of delicious sweets every day including ice cream. Alexander Hübler is the man to blame for everything here! You should also know that breakfast is served all day long and that they deliver city-wide.

Pnyka Griechische Bäckerei is a bakery located in the centre of Vienna, and it has a vast variety of Mediterranean pastries, including spinach or meat-filled biscuits, cheesy crumbly biscuits, crackers, and sweets. Additionally, they have honey-filled pastries and croissants. This shop is perfect for coffee lovers looking for a hearty breakfast or snack.
We were looking for cafe to have famous cakes in Vienna. Stopped by this shop and ordered a chocolate and orange cake. My partner got fascinated by a samosa(our famous Indian snacks) shaped dish which was spinach feta baked goods. The lady packed us some cheese pie, too. We thought she misunderstood our order but she insisted that it was a gift from her. we had heard so much about tourist trap before travellingto Europe but this gesture from cake owner made us very happy. We were super cautious but have been pleasantly surprised by the hospitality

My English husband returned home yesterday and surprised me with traditional biscuits from this Greek bakery! The biscuits are fresh, light and melt in your mouth, perfect with Greek coffee! So delicious, my Greek mother (who is 77 today!) said they were the best she had for a very long time! An authentic Greek bakery like the ones we get back home! I only wish you had a branch in London!!! Efxaristoume poly!

Wandering around the centre of Vienna for a smaller and savory breakfast we were lucky enough to find this bakery. The choice is great and the lady running it was really kind. Ate some there and took a bag for onwards on our trip. The spanakopita was my favorite, and we really appreciated the few gifts we got. Glad I took some pita back to Prague, see you next time kind lady!

We are so grateful to have some of home's baked goodies in Vienna. Very reasonable prices, delicious pies and sweets and Niki, the girl at the store is delightful and will make your day. She made our week!

A real Greek bakery where we found many of the things we like so much when going on holiday in Greece - filo-pastries, simple crumbly biscuits and savory crackers-of-sort with olives or spinach. Anyone looking for a real piece of Greek food will find it here. The staff (or owners) were really nice and patient, explained everything we wanted to know about the different items. They were Greek and so were most of the customers who walked in during our visit. Authentic!

Thank you for the great products and the wonderful service in Vienna. We love your new lady employee who always serves us with kindness, respect and makes us want to come back to Pnyka again and again! Merry Christmas and a happy new year!

The best and probably only greek bakery in Vienna. Sells every day goods without passing it as gourmet or a delicacy. Greek products from Greeks, with Greeks and locals in mind. Give this place a visit, grab a coffee, and have a nice start to your day.

A descent Greek Pastry with good products from a chain of bakeries coming from Athens. The only thing I did not check is price list which staff I bought and seems to me a bit expensive but be mindful regarding that.

Beautiful hotel in a perfect location for exploring central Vienna. The service was excellent and all the staff were friendly, and the food/drinks we were able to try was excellent. A couple of small issues however prevented it from living up to its name and image, namely the maintenance of the rooms and the majority of the on site dining being closed for our visit.

My husband and I chose the Grand Hotel for our wedding reception, and we couldn’t have made a better choice. From the very first inquiry to the planning process and finally the big day, we were continually impressed by the hotel’s professionalism, organization, and support. A very special shout-out goes to Csilla, our event coordinator, whose support was truly invaluable. She was always communicative, quick to respond, and on top of every detail. Thanks to her, everything ran seamlessly, and we felt so well cared for throughout the entire journey. The hotel itself is stunning, and all of our guests were impressed by both the atmosphere and the level of service. The menu was carefully designed with our preferences in mind, and the team went above and beyond to accommodate dietary needs, including vegetarian and vegan options. Everyone raved about the food. We also had the pleasure of adding desserts from the hotel’s pastry chef, which were absolutely delicious. We are deeply grateful to every single person involved in our wedding day for their kindness, dedication, and flawless execution. The Grand Hotel truly exceeded our expectations, and we will cherish the memories forever.

A Masterclass in Hospitality at the Grand Hotel Wien! Our recent stay from September 19th to 22nd was nothing less than perfection. As seasoned, some might even say connoisseur, travelers, we have high expectations, and the Grand Hotel Wien didn't just meet them—it soared right over them. We had booked a Grand Room, but to our delight, we were graciously upgraded to a full, magnificent suite. And what a suite it was! Beautifully decorated with impeccable taste. The space was astounding, complete with a very handy powder room for guests and a kitchenette that added a wonderful layer of convenience. The service throughout the hotel was exemplary, but the personal attention from the manager truly set this stay apart. As Platinum Elite members, we felt genuinely recognized and valued. The attention to detail was evident in every corner, from the flawless housekeeping to the anticipatory service from every staff member we encountered. For any discerning traveler who appreciates the finer details, this is your place in Vienna.

My partner and I had a wonderful stay at the Grand Hotel Wien. The hotel is located right in the very heart of Vienna, close to everything you’d want to see and do. We were warmly greeted with a thoughtful welcome of champagne and a lovely selection of chocolates and pastries upon arrival, which immediately set the tone for our stay. The staff at the reception were very friendly and helpful, and a special shoutout to Berkan, who not only suggested great places for us to visit but also informed us about Austria’s National Day. Thanks to him, we were able to witness the fascinating display by the Austrian army, which was a highlight of our trip. The hotel itself feels truly luxurious. From the grand staircase in the lobby to our elegantly designed room, everything exudes classic charm and comfort. The breakfast was superb, a wide variety of delicious options and excellent service. We also made use of the wellness area, which was a perfect way to unwind after a busy day exploring the city. The only minor downside was the air conditioning in the room, which wasn’t very easy to control. However, since my partner prefers not to have the AC on, it wasn’t really an issue for us. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would definitely recommend the Grand Hotel Wien to anyone visiting Vienna. Excellent service, great location, and wonderful value for money.

I can sincerely say that the Grand Hotel Wien is one of my favorite hotels I have ever stayed in. From the moment you arrive, it feels like a perfectly tuned operation, well managed, with every detail designed around guest comfort. The breakfast alone sets a standard that few hotels can match: abundant, varied, immaculately presented, and consistently fresh. It truly felt extraordinary each morning. The rooms are opulent and richly decorated, with velvet seating, gilded mirrors, and elegant touches that evoke the golden age of glamour. At the same time, all modern amenities are seamlessly integrated, providing everything you need for global connectivity without disturbing the classic atmosphere. The location is excellent, right on a lively boulevard with plenty of public transport, shops, and restaurants nearby, and only one block from the city center. Looking back, I regret not leaving this review after my stay last year. Only after a recent disappointing hotel experience elsewhere did I remember just how exceptional the Grand Hotel Wien truly was. It remains a hotel worthy of the highest praise.

I have been flying to Vienna regularly since 2022, and Grand Hotel Wien has become my go-to hotel. Over the years, I’ve stayed in a variety of their rooms, from the regular options to city views and even suites, and I’ve loved every single one. The rooms are always thoughtfully designed, comfortable, and perfectly maintained. The location couldn’t be better, right in the heart of the city, making it easy to get anywhere. Breakfast is incredible, with a wide selection and à la carte options that elevate the experience. As a coffee addict, I especially look forward to their cappuccino every morning, it’s always a highlight. The hotel bar is also a gem, elegant, welcoming, and with a fantastic atmosphere. Staff throughout the hotel are consistently friendly and professional. On one occasion, due to a flight change, I was even offered a late checkout without hesitation, small gestures like this really make a difference. I’ve tried other 5-star hotels in Vienna, but Grand Hotel Wien suits me best. It’s not only about the luxury and comfort, it’s also the consistency. I know members of the staff who were there when I first stayed in 2022 and are still there today. To me, that’s an indirect but very telling sign of how wonderful the hotel is, not only for guests but also for the people who work there. All in all, Grand Hotel Wien delivers on every level, and I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Vienna.

I very much enjoyed my stay at this historic hotel. I was here with a large group for an event and the staff were consistently extremely attentive and ready to accommodate any request. The rooms are beautiful and the ballroom where we gathered for presentations had a great atmosphere. I especially wanted to thank the staff who helped us with breakfast every morning. They went above and beyond (even remembering which people wanted to practice their German) and they made the experience special. Thanks to the whole Grand Hotel Wien team.

Hotel Imperial is a luxurious 19th-century hotel that offers sophisticated dining, a piano bar, and a gym. It has hosted notable guests such as Richard Wagner, Johannes Brahms, Emperor Franz Joseph, and Charlie Chaplin. Originally built as the neo-classical Palais Wurttemberg in 1866, it quickly became known as Vienna's finest and grandest hotel. The property retains its reputation and the ambiance of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
Absolutely Exceptional – A Birthday to Remember! We stayed for just one night, and it was truly memorable. Thank you. Yes It was my birthday! They spoiled us with the perfect bottle of champagne and a delicious cake decorated with fresh fruit. The staff were warm, professional, and attentive. The suite: stunning, elegant and spacious with every detail reflecting luxury and comfort. Every part of our stay exceeded our expectations: the atmosphere, the service, the little touches of thoughtfulness. It felt like a perfect blend of history, elegance, and true 5-star hospitality. We only wish we could have stayed longer! Without a doubt, this was one of the best hotel experiences we’ve ever had. Highly, highly recommended!

Adding my 5 Star Review! This is an amazing hotel with fantastic staff. We were warmly greeted by Atilla when we arrived & then he remembered us each day we stayed. It was a fantastic location for the Opera and our sightseeing plans. The breakfast is delicious and beautifully executed each morning. The bar area was a great place to convene with our family as we planned our next days.

I do not need to say any more about a hotel that was built to be a palace in the city. The hotel is being kept-up perfectly at that level, which is no easy task. What I find really impressive is the people working there who make a stay both a glorious experience, and at the same time give guests a very warm welcome feeling with ease from the heart, not with gestures like from some management-workshop. Especially the front desk always gave us a feeling of returning to a home-away-from-home. With different shifts they kept that up. Still, out of all those great people I'd especially like to mention Mrs. Baur and Mrs. Steinmetz, Mr. Ludewig who helped us tremendously, and Mrs. Elbasi. Everyone working for the team of the hotel gave the beautiful building its soul, but those four stood out even in that amazing team.

Beautiful hotel. Wonderful team. Super Austrian speciality food and wine. It is clear the team (many of whom have been together for years) are just that, a team. Unreservedly recommend the Imperial. One star knocked off. The owner perhaps should be investing in the buildings heritage to ensure it stays at the elite end of Vienna hotels. The Bristol is undergoing a multi million euro refurbishment... However the people make the experience and without doubt the Imperial is blessed to have such a loyal committed group of professionals, front of house, kitchen, concierge and housekeeping. Bravo.

I stayed at Hotel Imperial in Vienna and honestly, it’s one of the best hotels I’ve ever experienced. The service is exceptional, the staff are incredibly professional, and the rooms have that luxurious, royal classic style that makes you feel like you’re staying in a palace. The location is perfect—right in the heart of the city and close to everything. Even the breakfast and in-house services are true five-star quality. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Vienna. It’s absolutely worth it.

The Hotel Imperial in Vienna is truly impressive. The breakfast is very good — fresh, varied, and prepared with great care. The hotel preserves its historic character while integrating modern comforts in a way that feels natural and refined. The staff are friendly and professional, creating a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere. It’s a place I can genuinely recommend.
Norbert B — Google review
I'm shocked that anyone could rate this hotel less than 5 stars- it was exceptional in every way. The staff, especially Mladen at breakfast daily, was beyond excellent. We had a group of 5 friends and all of us were blown away. The gorgeous bar downstairs and the rich history and beautiful, elegant decor was just gorgeous. The location is ideal- close to all of the fun but quiet and walkable to everything. The only negative as far as our group is concerned is this was our first stop in 3 different cities and we are now spoiled rotten for the rest of our city stays. We should have gone their last as now nothing else is measuring up to it. People complaining about the bathtubs have obviously never been to Europe or anywhere outside of their tiny little town as that is par for all European, luxury included, bathrooms. Don't hesitate to stay here- it's the best in Vienna.
Danielle S — Google review
What can I say about my brief, utilitarian visit to this grand hotel on a cold October afternoon? Buying the distinctive blue boxes that contain the most delicious tortes they make at this luxury hotel you can't afford, will make you feel, momentarily, like a part of the nobility, after which you will head back to your two-star, but-still-Vienna-cool hotel with the thick, burgundy curtains and the old electrical outlets that still don't know about the digital age. The young woman who helped me made me feel welcome so, kudos to her for not batting an eye when the plebeian walked in. Not to miss: a visit to the opulent restrooms. Just that will give you a sense that you too, have no cares in the world... even if it's only for the three minutes it takes you to pee in the enclosed WC with walls of fine marble, and to wash and dry your hands with the individual towelettes provided for that purpose. You too will feel imperial as you stroll out of this most grand of accommodations into the crisp, cold air.

Nestled within the charming confines of the Volkskundemuseum in Vienna's elegant 8th district, Hildebrandt Café is a delightful haven for food lovers and coffee enthusiasts alike. This upscale café boasts an inviting atmosphere where you can easily spend hours indulging in a delectable breakfast or light meal. The menu features an array of high-quality organic ingredients, offering everything from mouthwatering waffles and avocado toast to hearty ham and eggs, with plenty of vegan options available.
I had the eggs Benny and the sticky mango porridge. Portions were good but I love food so that’s why I wanted to eat these two. The sauce Hollandaise was very light and delightful in the mouth with the melting of the poached egg in it. My favorite was however the potato brioche that was underneath it was so good. It had a bit of crunch to it but at the same time it was soft and it had a bit of sweetness to it which I didn’t mind. The sticky mango porridge was sweet but the right amount of sweet. It was such a delightful dish. And very fulfilling. I highly recommend this place defo one of the best breakfasts I’ve had in Vienna.

Hildebrandt Café is a pleasant spot for brunch with a nice ambiance. The food was good, though nothing particularly special stood out. It’s a cozy place to enjoy a meal, but I would have liked a wider range of desserts to choose from. One downside was the number of bees that kept coming around our food and us, which made the experience a bit less enjoyable.

Perfect place for breakfast. It was perfect day, breakfast outside, the service was excellent. As shakshuka guy, it was not like in Tel Aviv, but quite good. Other meals with high quality indigriends. 10:10 on Saturday it was already full so be an early bird!

Fresh ingredients, lovely atmosphere and delicious food - you’ll get everything here. We started our day with a chai latte, ordered the green machine, a bread loaded with nutritions, and the red sensation, a mix of tomatoes in all kind of ways, and it was delightful. :) The service is great and pays attention to the customers. Best choice you can make for a beautiful experience

Great option for breakfast and cakes! Their beautiful garden is perfect for a warm day or their winter garden for a fall rainy afternoon. I highly recommend their gluten free carrot cake! Make sure to make a reservation prior because it gets quite crowded, specially for brunch during the weekends. They also have lunch specials every week. Love this place!

This is such a hidden sparkle in Vienna! If you walk past the street you would have never thought to even enter, nevermind find the garden oasis that this place is! They have the most amazing sourdough bread - delicious! They have different milk alternatives and good coffee. But the winner for me was the chocolate hummus. You would think that it's an odd combination but it was honestly so smooth and creamy! The garden atmosphere was so soothing and perfect for a morning or afternoon meet up. They have a lot of vegan options on the menu! They did have a table available when I was there but only for an hour so I would recommend yo reserve beforehand. Don't just walk by, pop in and treat yourself!
Mariette S — Google review
Our recent visit confirmed what we were told - this is indeed one of the best brunch places in Vienna. Wonderful breakfast variations with bread, bagels, buns, even waffles. I was surprised by the variety of sweet options as well. And the fruit waffle tower that we had - omg, big yes to that one. Service was absolutely amazing, as well as the whole atmosphere of the place. Prices may be a tiny bit higher compared to the rest of Vienna' brunch spots that we've viaited ao far, but I would say it's worth it - especially during summer when you sit in their garden and just enjoy being taken care of!

If you're visiting Vienna or you're a local, you must discover Hildebrandt Café. It's a location you will definitely return to multiple times, for the food and the atmosphere. Delicious food all around. Personally, I found my new favourite brunch special "Pomodoro Mania" with buffalo mozzarella, which sometimes I try to recreate at home. Make sure to reserve in advance, as it's becoming more popular by the minute. P.S. During warm days, make a reservation at the garden area and you will not regret it.

Lovely small Cafe and bakery dedicated to gluten-free and vegan pastries. We visited at lunch time for a cake but this day they had and some sour option on the menu - Salad with Falafel, humus and rice that we decided to try, was really delicious! We also had two of their sweets -Peanut-butter-banana cake and a Coconut muffin - both tasted great, moist and not overly sweet! For stuff that is vegan and gluten free their bakes are excellent because it's very difficult to replace milk, butter and eggs with ingredients that don't make the dough gritty and dry especially when you also bake with Gluten-free flour! My admiration to the owners that have found the right recipes for their pastries. We saw they have also written a book with gluten-free and vegan recipes, so look forward to seeing it translated in English :) Very kind and helpful staff, we'll definitely visit again, thank you for the delicious food!

(Translated by Google) Today (November 15, 2025), at approximately 10:50 a.m., I was treated by an employee (male, around 45–50 years old, slim; Auhof branch) in a manner that can only be described as rude, if not downright crude and completely inappropriate. After I ordered a doughnut and placed a 50-euro note on the counter, the employee demonstratively rolled his eyes, waved the banknote around, and repeatedly said, "YOU HAVE TO go somewhere else and get change." His tone and demeanor were extremely disrespectful. When payments cannot be processed smoothly (I was prepared to pay by both card and cash), a consistently polite and appropriate tone would be desirable.

(Translated by Google) Today, my son and I wanted to buy something sweet for our afternoon snack. Unfortunately, our visit to this store was very disappointing. At first, we had to wait longer, not because there were many customers ahead of us, but because the man behind the counter (tall, slim, wearing a white chef's jacket and trousers) was casually on a personal phone call and ignored us. When we were finally able to order, my order was taken, but only when I was paying was I informed that card payments weren't possible – a notice that would have been helpful much earlier. I only had a 200-euro note and small change, which unfortunately wasn't enough. The employee's response was not very customer-friendly: He couldn't give me change because he hadn't collected enough money yet, and I should just go to the ATM. Especially on a Saturday in the Auhof Center, with such high traffic, this statement seems implausible and, above all, anything but service-oriented. Fortunately, there is another pastry shop nearby, where we finally found what we were looking for. It's a shame, but for us this was our last visit to this branch.

Café Mozart is a renowned Viennese coffee house with a rich history and a popular spot for opera performers and enthusiasts. The café's elegant interior, complete with crystal chandeliers and comfortable seating, adds to its charm. It is known for its delicious food, particularly the excellent tafelspitz. Additionally, Café Mozart offers a variety of gluten-free options, including delectable chocolate mousse cake.
Café Mozart is a true Viennese gem! The atmosphere perfectly blends historic charm with a warm, welcoming vibe, making it an ideal place to relax and soak up the city’s spirit. The food is outstanding—beautifully prepared, full of flavor, and presented with great care. From traditional Austrian specialties to delightful pastries, every dish feels authentic and thoughtfully crafted. The service is exceptional: attentive, friendly, and efficient without ever feeling rushed. Whether for breakfast, lunch, or a leisurely coffee and cake, Café Mozart offers a memorable experience that captures the essence of Vienna. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the city!

We ordered a pink latte, which was quite nice, though it seemed to contain cinnamon, which wasn’t mentioned on the menu. We also tried the Sacher and Buchteln (buns). The Sacher was okay, though not the best we’ve tried. The Buchteln, however, felt a bit overpriced — almost 15 euros for two small buns with vanilla custard that tasted rather artificial. On the positive side, they were soft and filled with warm jam, which was a nice touch. The part that disappointed us was the service at the end. When paying, the waiter (or possibly the manager) asked if he could add a 10% tip to the bill. We found this request quite unprofessional, especially considering the very minimal service provided. Overall, while the café looks lovely, the value for money and service experience didn’t meet our expectations. There’s another café just a few meters away that offers a much better overall experience.

The full English and eggs Benedict were delicious…I had room for an apple strudel which didn’t disappoint either! Food delicious and great service. I am only marking this down a star as there is no accessible toilet so my mother couldn’t go as she can’t do steps (had to go to Starbucks)

I stopped by Café Mozart for lunch and left with mixed feelings. The ambience was lovely—elegant yet welcoming, with that classic Viennese charm. Unfortunately, the lunch menu was underwhelming and didn’t live up to expectations. The flavors felt rather bland, and it wasn’t as enjoyable as I had hoped. The soup was extremely salty. On the brighter side, the dessert truly saved the experience: the cake I ordered was excellent, rich, and beautifully presented. If you’re coming here, I’d recommend skipping the lunch menu and going straight for coffee and cake in this wonderful atmosphere.

Cafe Mozart is a cozy cafe conveniently situated in the heart of the city. We had blueberry cake and tea. It was lunch time when we went there and people were having different types of soup which looked very delicious. The service was really good and the atmosphere was also welcoming and warm.

Café Mozart truly has a historic charm paired with a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. We tried the apple strudel, hot chocolate, and a few cocktails and everything was really good. What stood out the most was the warm and welcoming staff who made our visit exceptionally pleasant. A delightful place to stop and enjoy a classic Viennese experience.
Mariam B — Google review
This café has been rated highly both here and in numerous blogs so we did come here with high expectations. We made a reservation after seeing the crazy queues for Hotel Sacher's cafe around the corner and because our four year old was in tow. We were immediately seated by a smiley young man and the seating was nice and comfortable. The cakes and coffee were fine, the Sacher torte was a little dry but coffee helped with that and the Apple strudel +custard was albeit lukewarm. The let down sadly was the service, it was a little abrupt during ordering and payment but also you were oddly ignored otherwise. This would be fine in a Starbucks but maybe not in an establishment with these prices, reputation and with staff keen to get a tip out of you when you pay with card! If you want to say you've had a coffee and cake experience in Vienna this isn't the worst place to go to but you can get better cake, coffee and service elsewhere.

Café Museum is a smart café that has gained popularity for its original 1930s design, featuring semi-circled boxes, red velvet upholstery, and retro-style mirrored globes. The café's minimalist interior by Adolf Loos attracted artists like Gustav Klimt and Egon Schiele in Fin-de-Siècle Vienna. It offers a spacious area with a quiet separate room for business discussions.
Wow! This restaurant was a wonderful experience—the food was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. The menu had great variety with creative and authentic options to suit different tastes. Service was impressively fast, attentive, and very friendly, which made the meal even better. The ambience was warm and inviting, with lovely décor and a comfortable vibe, and everything was spotless from the tables to the restrooms. Truly a place I’d love to visit again! ✨🍴

a historical cafe in Vienna where Gustav Klimt used to hang out at. the food was good, some better than others. i strongly recommend apple strudel in warm sauce! it was the most amazing dish we had here. the location is central and the atmosphere was good and pleasant

Very nice restaurant and cozy. The egg benedicts were good, however the scrambled eggs were too oily. If your a big fan of coffee and looking for a cafe americano this will not make you fill your stomach you have to order at least another one. Apple struddle was 10/10.

The cappuccino is really good, with creamy milk foam that's rich and slightly sweet. Also, The Kaiserschmarren is sweet but not excessively so, fluffy, and perfectly matched with honey sauce—and we enjoyed it thoroughly. Though slightly pricey, it’s well worth a visit.
HSY — Google review
Cafe Museum is a very good choice during our Vienna trip. It is located at a very central area, where we can easily combine with our touring agenda (National Opera, Karlskirche). The place itself seems very gorgeous and exclusively fancy, yet the staffs and waitresses/ waiters are friendly and nice. The atmosphere is calm and quite quiet for such a popular venue. We had a Viennese Melange Coffee and a Cappuccino, both were good. Kaiserschmarrn was totally unmatched with the thick yet light and fluffy pancakes, which are also soft and moist inside while slightly crispy outside. It was served with berries and apple jams. I can only highly recommend it, though the prices are totally on the higher end. Spending a slow morning there was perfect to observe the local tradition of cafe house.

On the pricier side, this lovely café has plenty of outdoor seating when the weather is nice, and a great menu. The food is fantastic, and the service is prompt and welcoming. If budget isn’t an issue, it’s definitely worth trying local specialties like goulash or schnitzel.

For us Sacher, Strudel and Vienna melange coffee were one of the main point in this trip. This place is ideal to sit and try the Vienna sweets. Strudel with ice cream and vanilla cream is super tasty. Sacher cake is a bit dry, but also nice. Coffee melange in the small cup, tasty and nice. Friendly staff and comfortable view to the city.

We choose Café Museum to enjoy one of our first breakfasts during our stay in Vienna. Beverages were great and the Mozart Cakes were just fine! Here goes the side note. Apparently there's a dress code no one knows about: We were seated with a disgusted face by the chief personnel just because we choose to dress casual and not in an old fashioned way like many other guests. They did not even took our jackets as they did for other people who were seated before us. Choose another old café to better enjoy the cozy atmosphere they have!

Café Diglas, located at Wollzeile 10 in Vienna, is a long-established venue that offers a variety of breakfast options, cakes, and a daily-changing menu. The café's decor dates back to 1934 and retains some prewar Vienna accessories. It has a strong association with composer Franz Lehar and serves traditional Austrian cuisine alongside run-of-the-mill caffeine fixes and liqueur-enriched concoctions like the Biedermeier.
We came across this place by chance after the other restaurant (which my wife recommended) was full, but we don't regret it at all. They accommodated us without a reservation. The goulash soup was very tasty. I recommend it to everyone. The schnitzel (original Viennese) was also good. However, I don't think its price is justified.

Food was great! We got what seemed like a simple soup but it was somehow incredible. Hummus plate was also delicious and all the desserts looked great! Service wasn’t the best (walked in and no one would seat us for an awkward amount of time..) but the location (right next to St Stephen’s) was perfect and was a great stop between tours!
Sarah B — Google review
Café Diglas was recommended to us by a Vienna resident. After we checked into our hotel, we found out the cafe was only a block away. When we arrived at 4:00, we were seated immediately. My wife ordered the beef goulash, and I ordered the pork schnitzel. I was impressed by the large serving of schnitzel I received. The crust was the best that I’ve ever tasted. The pork meat could be cut with a fork. A delicious bowl of potato salad was included. My wife’s goulash had tender pot roast and boiled potatoes. It too was excellent. In three days, we’ve gone to Café Diglas three times, and I’ve ordered wiener pork schnitzel every time. My wife has tried three different meals, and each one was superb. One night we returned for dessert, and the apple strudel was A+ Highly Recommended! 😊

Had a cup of coffee and chocolate cake. The cake is dry, unlike the American version. Not overly sweet and with a tart cherry filling in the middle. Overall, I enjoyed it. It’s not something I’m used to but glad we tried it. The atmosphere is quite nice and the staff were very courteous. Would recommend people to try it.

Typical old Viennese Café! I can especially recommend their sweet dishes, e.g. the Scheiterhaufen- very hard to find anywhere else in Vienna. Definitely a dish for someone with a sweet tooth.
Antonia N — Google review
Came here in February, so I’m a bit late writing this, but the experience stuck with me enough that I feel it deserves a mention. I ordered a Vienna schnitzel, Sachertorte, and a beer. the food was really good, although on the pricier side (around €40, or $70 AUD, paying with my Australian debit card). Service was also good… until the end. When I asked to pay, the waiter (a tanned, Italian-looking guy) emphasised that tips are not included. He then proceeded to enter a higher amount on the card machine around— €43 instead of €40 — and asked, “Is this ok?” I questioned it, saying “It was 40, not 43,” and he replied with “No tip?” to my face. I was stunned. It felt like a money grab, and I firmly replied “No tip,” shaking my head. He then gave me the dirtiest look as I paid and walked out, until I said “thank you, have a good night,” and suddenly he flipped to being smiley and friendly again. The frustrating thing is, I actually considered tipping because the food and service were good up until that point. But being pressured like that completely ruined the experience. Really unfortunate, because the meal itself was fantastic, and it looks very nice inside.

The flavors range from hazelnut to strawberry, poppy seeds to matcha, and chocolate to tahini. They prioritize regional and natural ingredients whenever possible.
Just amazing! The scoops are massive, and the price is very reasonable. I had 2 scoops (vanilla and pistachio - both so so good), and it was a lot! But I'm not complaining. They really put thought into their ingredients and flavour combinations. You get classic flavours and seasonal ones. Will I go there again tomorrow, most probably yes ☺️

Visitors praise the friendly staff, delicious coffee, homemade croissants, and tasty breakfast dishes.
The waiter was incredibly kind, the dishes were beautifully presented, and the coffee—honestly—might be the best in Vienna. Given how popular this place is, it’s no surprise the beans are as fresh as they come. A delicious meal and a truly delightful experience overall!

Delicious food and drink. Everything we had here was very tasty and fresh. Had lunch one day (minced veal schnitzel) as well as some cakes and lemonade and all were delicious. A couple of people from the service seemed to be a bit disconnected, not much interested and hard to get their attention, very strange for waiters. But other than that service generally friendly, place very clean and has an amazing atmosphere and like I said food very tasty. Definitely recommend!

Very well prepared food with fresh ingredients. Went twice in 2 days. 3 eggs and bacon in a hot skillet kept everything hot. Eggs in a croissant equally good. Next time it was piquant breakfast, bums ham and gouda. Their breads and buns and incredibly fresh. O was able to get in without reservations but it was very busy so I recommend booking in advance.
Peter K — Google review
This is a bakery combined with a cafe. The eggs Benedict were not as good. The egg white was not properly cooked. The hollandaise sauce had a very weird texture - they probably added flour or starch or something like that which resulted in not a silky but rather liquid dough-like texture. The overall taste was fine but not super delicious. The hot chocolate was good although too sweet for me. The staff were not very welcoming although did their job. Overall I would not come here again for a meal, maybe I could give the bakery a chance
Alexey S — Google review
We ordered egg benedict, porridge, and hot chocolate here. They are all really good. The egg benedict is flavourful with thick sauce. Porridge is my favourite, very easy to eat coming with variety of fruits. Hot chocolate is also really good. Overall quite good with the price.

A fantastic upgrade from the classic Ströck experience. I tried the focaccia, and it was excellent — and as a chef with experience in baking breads and focaccia, I can say it was really well done: fluffy, flavorful, and perfectly baked. The coffee was also very good, smooth and well-prepared, which makes this place just as strong for a quick coffee break as it is for a full meal. The decoration is amazing, creating a warm and stylish atmosphere, and the food is on another level — creative, fresh, and much more elevated than the usual bakery offerings. A great spot for both casual meals and relaxed evenings. Definitely worth visiting if you want to see Ströck in a whole new way.

This place is always super busy but we managed to find a table. Service is a bit slow but not a problem, staff are nice enough. I really liked the breakfast burrito, I suggest paying extra to add some bacon, then it’s like the America bagel but better, plus the wrap is less messy to eat 😄the coffee was not the best. Lots of people in here chatting, on their laptops, reading, with their dogs etc.. very mixed atmosphere.

We were here on a public holiday when most other places were closed, so it was quite busy and the place seemed a bit understaffed. The wait for us to be able to order, and then for the food, was on the long side. I had the breakfast burrito which was nice but could have been slightly bigger in portion size. Coffee was good too.
Layla M — Google review
First time trying a rye bagel, hearty, seeded/nutty taste, the hummus was slightly sweet and this mixed with the sweet of the mustard to give a natural sweetness which was lovely with the wheaty bread and tangy pickles. Thoroughly enjoyed! Personally; the onions I think would have been better if grilled/pickled/caramelised rather than fresh. The orange juice was fresh squeezed and zesty but small for price. Rote-Rüben-Hummus Rucola €7,10 (rocket salad, beetroot hummus, onions, pickles & sweet mustard on Dark Rye bagel) Really cute spot, so many options, GF, Vegan, HEAPS of VEGO!

Actually there is a raw vegan Cafe in Vienna. I was very curious to get there. And today together with my friend I had breakfast at this place. Very nice interior, cool really raw and vegan dishes. Everything is organic! I would say all boxes are matched. But I was really disappointed with portions and prices. I had a beetroot latter made with almond milk and zucchini hummus with small piece of roh bread, very small chia seeds pudding and a shot of wheatgrass (you can see it on the picture) and paid for it 20€!!! I stayed very hungry. So bc of that I can't give 5 stars.

Portions aren't too big but the food was excellent. Service was great, you'll need to wait a little longer than usual (not too long) for the preparation of the food but that's understandable as its gluten free, lacto-free, raw etc, and the taste is worth the wait. I gave it four stars as opposed to 5 purely because the quantities are less than my liking, but otherwise it was fabulous!

Their daily menu is a steal at 7.50 euros for soup and a main course. Service was friendly even though the staff were really busy. Their in house lemonade is divine.

The bakery offers an array of delectable pastries, including brioche, pain au chocolat, croissants, viennoise choco, feuille abricot, macarons, and eclairs in various flavors such as orange, vanilla, coffee, and pistachio.
This wasn’t my first time walking past, but this time I decided to go in and try two éclairs. Almost €11 for two éclairs — not cheap, but they were fresh and delicious. The service was friendly.

Exceptionally good tartlets! Hands down, the best Tarte au citron I ever had. The highlight was the one with caramel and peanut cream. These tartlets are pure art but also taste amazing, a combination which you don't see everyday. I'll have to try some more tomorrow!

Holzofenbäckerei Gragger & Cie Spiegelgasse is a delightful gem in Vienna that truly captures the essence of artisanal baking. This charming bakery, founded by Helmut and Karin Gragger in 1997, operates from an old mill near Linz and emphasizes a return to traditional methods using organic ingredients. As you step inside, the warmth from the wood-burning oven envelops you, creating an inviting atmosphere.
Incredible wood oven fired bakery. The moment you step inside you smell the wood fire. Incredible pastries and good coffee. Friendly staff. Haven’t tried the bread but it looked delicious. Update: Came again and what do i say what a gem of bakery. The pastries are different from french pastries not as delicate and more rustic. Which doesn’t cut the quality it is just different and a joy through all the French style bakeries popping up.
Fabian A — Google review
I stopped by to get good bread. The staffs were very helpful, professional and kind. I also picked up a chocolate cookie. It was very good with coffee. Rich but not too sweet. The atmosphere was cozy and pleasant. It was nice to sit at the small sitting area and took a quick coffee break from all the walking.
Youngmi C — Google review
Unfortunately, this bakery didn’t live up to the high Google rating. Everything looked appetizing, but what they call a croissant shouldn't be called that — it was an underbaked, sweet, soft pastry that had little in common with a real croissant. Inside, it was uncomfortably hot due to the working oven, and there was no restroom (not even a place to wash your hands). The bar stools looked uncomfortable. There are two small tables outside. Perhaps the bread here is good for takeaway, but I didn’t buy any, so I can't judge. The staff is quite friendly.

Croissant & the other I tried was super-dry. I am sure I should have tried other bread.

@graggercie was our first stop in Vienna and it met all expectations. They were making the bread and pastries items in ovens right behind the counter. Which made the small shop warm and welcoming. The staff was kind and worked to find the English words to describe their items. And the FOOD! The best one we had was filled with quark (English word) cheese, just a little sweet but still funky in the most delicate dough.
Elizabeth E — Google review
The pastries spread was very nice and appetizing and the food was great. The place smelled delicious. There’s no seating however, only small bar attached to the wall for singles so you need to grab your food and go.
Nisreen K — Google review
We specifically visited for the poppyseed pastry, although the loaves of bread on offer looked exceptional. The pastry on the other hand was too dry for our liking. Plus it's a real luxury sweet treat at €3.9. Staff was very welcoming and told us more about the special Holzofen.

Unfortunately although relatively well ranked it was a total disappointment mainly due to the attitude of the staff. Also their unprofessional way of serving coffee ruined our morning experience of Viena

The tastiest, most unique ice-cream I've ever eaten. The flavors I recommend as "must try" are Basil flavor and lavender ice-cream. worth every penny !!!! Very friendly respectful staff, they offer you sample tasting so to choose the best ice-cream combo 👌
Nour M — Google review
We tried the lavender and blueberry ice cream – the flavors were unique and quite tasty. However, the place doesn’t really offer a good seating area. You mostly have to sit outside on the street, and there aren’t proper chairs or tables to enjoy your ice cream in comfort. It’s more of a spot to grab a cone and enjoy it while walking around the historic area. Overall, the ice cream was average to slightly above average, but the experience was nice for a quick stop.

Great ice cream but it is slightly overpriced. The special flavours which cost more tend to be a hit or miss but if when they are good, they are great!

I ordered two cakes for my daughter’s 3rd birthday and they were absolutely perfect - exactly what I had imagined and more. The attention to detail was incredible and it was clear that so much love and care went into making them. The first cake had a soft ombré finish with a light sponge and strawberry cream filling, topped with the sweetest little bunny. It looked like something out of a storybook and my daughter was over the moon. The second, a rich chocolate cake with lemon cream, was beautifully decorated with fresh berries and elegant piping - so vibrant and full of spring energy. Both cakes were not only stunning and delicious, but also low in sugar and completely vegan - making them a wholesome and thoughtful treat for kids (and adults too!). The flavours were so well balanced, you’d never guess they were made with healthier ingredients. You could truly taste the quality and craftsmanship in every bite. To top it all off, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout the entire process, which made the experience even more enjoyable. I’ll definitely be ordering again. Highly recommend to anyone looking for cakes made with passion, care, and a warm smile!

Nestled in the heart of Vienna, Hilton Vienna Park offers an upscale experience with its elegantly designed rooms and a chic restaurant. This refined property boasts a range of amenities including a gym, sauna, and 21 versatile event spaces, making it perfect for both leisure and business travelers. Its prime location adjacent to Stadtpark and the iconic Ringstrasse allows guests to easily explore some of Vienna's most celebrated landmarks like the Vienna State Opera and Hofburg Palace.
Pleasant stay here for 13 nights I got an early check in thanks to being a Hilton Honors Member, AND an Upgrade. Staff tries very hard to accommodate. Room attendants did a good job on cleanliness of our Room. Lobby was always spotless. Breakfast Buffet was pricey for what was offered so we opted to pass on that. They had a beautiful Bar (Selleny’s) with Outdoor Seating. Nice, but pricey as expected. If you want a quieter room experience with your Window open try not to get a room on the Landstrasse/Hauptstrasse. It’s the Front of the Hotel on the Train Station side. Bustling area until 1 a.m. or so. Beware. This Hotel is very Convenient to endless Shopping/Museums/Parks/Restaurants. If you like to walk then this is your Hotel. Like taking Trains, Trolleys, Buses? Then right across the Street are the Stations. Awesome. Come here. It’s a good deal.

Great place to stay. Hotel location is central for most of Vienna's attractions, and only a short train ride to/from airport. Excellent choice of fresh food or hot food for breakfast, but sometimes it was very busy if you arrived at certain times. Options for dinner at the hotel were limited/expensive but lots of excellent alternatives within walking distance of the hotel. Friendly service and the room was maintained to a high standard. Lovely birthday treat - I will definately be coming back for another visit !

This Hilton is by far one of the best ones I’ve stayed at. The service has been above and beyond. The rooms and hotel are really well maintained/clean. Staff wise, everyone has been so kind. I stayed at the hotel for five nights. Everything was excellent, and the hotel is beautiful with a comfortable lounge. The receptionist — I couldn’t get her name, she had black hair — was rude and had a bad attitude. The breakfast area on the ground floor is filled with cooking smells; I suggest enclosing the cooking area with glass. Do not allow them to hold any security deposit from your card because it will not be refunded to you.

One of the best Hilton's I've been to. I would say this is more like a Conrad! Excellent service and amazing food at the bar with local food and drink options. The executive lounge has a lot of detail, art, design and plenty of space. Even an outdoor area for the summer months. The selection of local beer as well as wine was great! I loved the local Austrian red (pictured). Keep up the great work!

Great hotel for a business event. They had enough big and small rooms to accommodate what we needed. The location could not be better, next to the train station directly to the airport, a park and 10’ walk from the city center. The rooms were all you need. The only but was the strange opening times of the bar and the disco downstairs. I would recommend it for personal reasons too

Enjoyable stay. Good location to music events and museums. Big thanks to Oscar who directed us to great restaurants and was soooo helpful. In room breakfast was very reasonable for the area. The perfect location, the perfect ambiance… total relaxation, and the perfect team! Special thanks to the heroes of the Concierge — Rainer, Oliver, and Oscar — and to the entire restaurant team, especially Ibrahim and Alex. The rooms were very comfortable. I truly appreciated that water was always available — such a thoughtful detail that made a big difference. I never had to think about ordering or bringing my own. Thank you for taking care of every small detail, including cleaning and night service. A useful note for future guests: the electric plugs are the two-round-pin type, but the hotel provides excellent adapters. Most importantly, my wife really enjoyed the stay! We’ll definitely be coming back!

I stayed at 3 luxury hotel in Vienna within a week (just for fun). First time in a Ritz. I must say overall its one of THE best. Welcome cocktail as you check in...personally shown the room. Very nice decor, indoor swimming pool (can't think of any other hotel in Vienna that has that. Nice Italian restaurant in house (very casual). Great location. For the cost one of the better luxury hotel deals in town.
Tabula R — Google review
We stayed at the Ritz-Carlton Vienna for 11 nights and had a very good experience overall. The rooms are comfortable and quite large, though some elements of the décor feel a bit dated. The same goes for the hotel interior—there are definite highlights, but parts of it could use a refresh. What truly stands out here is the staff. Service was excellent across the board, especially at D-Bar. The menu is inventive, the drink quality consistently high, and the bartenders are clearly very experienced. One bartender in particular, Tomas, deserves special praise—his drinks were truly outstanding, and his skill, attentiveness, and professionalism made our evenings there some of the best parts of our stay. At the pool, Kristof was extremely helpful and attentive, clearly committed to making guests feel looked after. There’s also a rooftop bar with great city views, which is a nice bonus. The location isn’t as central as the Park Hyatt—most destinations require at least a 10-minute walk—but the surroundings are still lovely, and we enjoyed experiencing Vienna on foot whenever we set out from the hotel. For value, the Ritz-Carlton worked well for us. With such a long stay, we wanted to budget thoughtfully, and it offered a better balance than the Park Hyatt or the Mandarin Oriental.
P L — Google review
The Ritz-Carlton Vienna is a beautiful hotel with an excellent location and elegant, comfortable rooms. Cleanliness was very good, while the overall service and reception were average compared to the usual Ritz-Carlton standard. The main downside was the breakfast — there was no buffet, only à la carte service, which was unusual for me and not at the level expected from such a luxury hotel. Overall, it’s a nice property and enjoyable stay, but service and breakfast quality could be improved to better match the Ritz-Carlton brand experience.

The famous bakery Rieppel is a hidden gem in Berlin as their bakery products are some of the best in the city. The store has an old-fashioned look compared to more contemporary Rudolfsheim spots, but their bread is superb. Until one of the cashiers or the owner partly gave me back as change GEORGIAN CURRENCY INSTEAD OF EUROS on Sunday, July 21st, pretending this was the right currency. I am new to Vienna and in the process of familiarizing myself with the currency while learning German. Café Ansari is a stylish and contemporary bistro in Vienna that offers a fusion of Georgian and Mediterranean cuisine. Run by a Georgian couple with Lebanese roots, the restaurant features a modern dining room with an airy and light-filled interior, as well as a shady terrace for outdoor dining. The menu includes specialties like kinkhali, kwerebi, Georgian wines, and specialty teas and coffees.
This was only my second real introduction to Georgian cuisine, and this place absolutely knocked it out of the park. I can't claim to know how authentic it is, but I can tell you what my taste buds thought: they loved it. The Chakapuli soup was a standout—warm, layered, and full of depth without being heavy. The asparagus flavor played beautifully against the richness of the lamb. Even the polenta is satisfying its own: silky and mildly savory. The service was attentive, and the atmosphere felt upscale, but they cater for locals. Very welcoming. This place immediately earned a spot on my favorites list. And yes, it’s pricey, but well, I enjoyed my evening with them.

The restaurant offers an Georgian dishes, adapted for a European audience. We ordered the Georgian & Oriental breakfast, khinkali, homemade lemonade, and iced latte. Everything was truly tasty! The hummus in the Oriental breakfast was especially delicious, smooth and flavorful. The khinkali were juicy and well-prepared. Prices are above average, but the portion sizes are not particularly large, so the value for money could be improved. Unfortunately, the service was lacking the staff seemed disorganized, and we had to wait quite a while before anyone came to take our order. That did impact the overall experience

The Sachertorte just tasted like a regular chocolate cake—not overly sweet. The texture was okay, but a bit boring. The King’s Cake was pretty good, especially with the raspberry sauce—it paired well and was suitable for two people. The latte was decent as well. Overall, there was nothing wrong with the food. However, the service was really not okay. The server’s attitude wasn’t very friendly when we were ordering. There were five of us, and we were ordering one by one. When I finished ordering and said, “That’s all,” the server immediately tried to walk away. We quickly told him that there were more orders, and I clarified, “That’s all is just me.” His expression instantly changed, and afterward, he kept asking, “Is that all? Are you sure? Absolutely sure?” Later, when confirming the dishes as they were served, he was also quite impatient.

Amasing location and amasing food too. Everything tasted great and the service was perfect. They were abble to speak english and they recomanded us some great dishes, was amasing and worth going to. We were there only one time but i would live in Vienna this place would probably be one of my favourites.

We had a fantastic time here. It's our first time in Vienna and we were craving some local desserts. They did not disappoint. Perfect portion sizes, beautiful presentation, calm environment with a lovely garden. If we lived locally we would absolutely become regulars!

Great service, fantastic selection of pastries, decadent desserts and food. Beautiful outdoor seating in the garden. Professional and prompt service. Good location near the Schonbrunn palace
Jacques W — Google review
Very kind service, great garden on the back of the building for a relaxing cozy stay. Cakes were excellent, coffee a little less (but is hard to please and Italian). Well deserved five stars.
Federico P — Google review
I found this cafe after a stroll through the park at Schonbrunn Palace. I felt that this cafe is loved by the locals. The customers have good fashion sense and good manners, and it is a very relaxed shop. The service was also polite, and I was very impressed.

Joseph Brot • Wien Bio Bäckerei is a charming bakery located in the heart of Vienna, Austria. The bakery offers an array of freshly baked goods, from artisan bread to delectable pastries, all made with high-quality ingredients and traditional baking methods. The establishment also features a cafe with a bright and spacious interior, where guests can enjoy a delightful breakfast experience.
Joseph Brot offers a delightful café experience with nice vibes and a cozy atmosphere that invites you to relax and enjoy your time. The staff are amazing super friendly and efficient, with quick service that stands out in Vienna’s café scene. We had the Egg Royal, which was simply delicious, rich, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The croissant was exceptional: buttery, flaky, and you can even order it with extra cheese for a more indulgent treat. The coffee is excellent, smooth, aromatic, and perfectly crafted. Highly recommended for a relaxed breakfast or coffee break in Vienna!
Aiman S — Google review
I wouldn't call this bakery excellent, but it's definitely good. I find it quite pricey even for an organic bakery, and since the prices aren't listed anywhere, you get a surprise at the cash register. There are two outdoor seating areas. The one on the right is for takeaway orders, and the one on the left you can be served. The cafe isn't on a main street, so it's not too loud, which makes sitting outside pleasant enough for a big city. Note: The plastic knives are so flimsy that they break straight away, when you try to use them.

This is a wonderful cafe for breakfast or tea with incredible pastries! Almost every table is taken until around 11 a.m., so the service can be a little slow. Over a few days, I tried almost all of their breakfasts, and my favorite was the Salmon Trout Scrambled Eggs. I also highly recommend the BIO MOHN SCHNECKE pastry an unbelievably delicious cinnamon roll with poppy seeds and cherries.
Anastasiia L — Google review
An unforgettable breakfast! We ordered the Turkish eggs and the salmon with eggs — both were delicious. Afterwards, we tried the almond croissant, which was absolutely perfect. Everything was just amazing!
Cenk G — Google review
Amazing breakfast and customer service. You’ll feel truly welcomed from the moment you arrive. The croissant is also a must-try, it’s absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this place.

Delicious food and friendly helpful service. We asked for dessert as the kitchen was closing and they still did it for us, which was so kind and appreciated.

It is a very busy place on Sunday so be prepared to wait quite some time for the food, even if you ordered something simple. Their muesli is undoubtedly unique but my daughter was not thrilled by the French bread. We also struggled to find kid-friendly options on the menu e.g. simple scrambled eggs without any fuss (like salmon, mushrooms, mangold etc.)..all in all the service ok, it is just our taste does not match with the meals on the menu.
Adrienn M — Google review
Always a great choice for breakfast / brunch / lunch. The egg benedict was especially nice, with a very light and subtle foam.

Vanillas Wien is a charming café located in the heart of the city. The newest addition to the Vanillas chain, this café on Wallensteinplatz offers a different ambiance compared to its predecessors. With vintage furniture and old pictures adorning the walls, it exudes a sense of calm and solidity. The friendly staff provides excellent service, with vintage cups and milk jugs adding to the experience.
Great gelateria and coffee shop in Vienna! The service was excellent, especially thanks to Sonju, who was incredibly kind and friendly. We also received some pieces of pineapple as a complimentary side, which was a lovely touch. I will definitely be coming back!

Great eggs, fantastic croassant, but I don't like vegan food, so not too much things to choose for breakfast. Also, too much sweet things for breakfast, and for me, breakfast shouldn't be sweet. Atmosphere great, waiters great. It is not 4 stars, I'd like to give 4.5, but it is not 5 stars for me.

Super cute café. We randomly stumbled upon it after running away from the crazy line at Café Central. It is girlie, bright, and just like any other building in Vienna, the ceiling was mesmerising. We got tea, espresso, waffle, and another desert made of apples, and everything tasted really good!
Yosr M — Google review
Wonderful eatery! The coffees & breakfast items were reasonably priced. There are many varieties of hot chocolate available & the quantity is amazing. The staff member was very polite & friendly. The decor is really pretty. It is located in the center so pretty accessible too. Unfortunately (for me), no vegan or eggless pastries were available!
Parichay M — Google review
Gorgeous cafe around the corner from Schönbrunn gardens. Menu was only available in German and they did not speak English although ordering was still easy as the menu had pictures. We ordered cappuccinos and the savory breakfast tower. Very reasonably priced and portions were generous. If you’re visiting the palace, I recommend stopping in here for a bite to eat.

Excellent coffee and breakfast! We came with friends and family and had a delicious breakfast in this tastefully decorated cafe! Friendly staff and comfortable banquette!! Will definitely be back!

What a cute little place for a quick breakfast date! They've got a super friendly staff & some delish breakfast items on the menu. The decor simply adds to the experience. You've had better breakfast (taste wise), but the experience is worth a visit! Pretty close to Schottentor. Recommended!

The popular Daniel Bakery in Vienna has an excellent buffet with many local specialties - like honey from the beekeepers on the roof of the hotel - in hip surroundings. It's also pet-friendly.
My and girls found this spot just on our way to Belveder, we haven’t had breakfast so we decided to stop here and eat before visiting museum and walking all day. It was perfect! It was so peaceful and nice there, we really enjoyed the hearty breakfast and fresh buns and bread. But all this wouldn’t work without the incredibly pleasant staff, in our case we were served by a man who spoke English perfectly, unfortunately I did not have time to clarify his name. In Vienna it is very rare to find a truly smiling and pleasant service in the service industry, but our waiter set our mood for the whole day ahead. We send greetings and best wishes to your entire team!

Popped in on an autumn weekday hoping for lots of baked goods but unfortunately no baking available when we were there. Stopped for a coffee which was pleasant and well made. Staff were friendly and effective. Nice vibe about the place, but not really what we’re we expecting given the name. Maybe better at a weekend, but don’t expect a bakery.

Most irresponsible receptionists, would write the billing address wrong despite giving displaying a printed copy of address, wouldnt change the wrong address, no one at desk at 4 am and have to catch a flight at 8 am good that I paid earlier but the receipt had adress wrong and it is a pre invoice receipt not actual one, just horribly irresponsible. Actual receipt will be given on checkout it and daid that "someone will be at the desk always“ despite crlearly mentioning time of the checkout during the payment. In the whole very disappointed in the way receptionists are in here. very disappointed paying while paying the bill, stayed for 9 nights, booked smart category for all the 9 nights and I get a call on the day of checkin that smart category is overbooked, would you be willing to stay in the air streamer (trailer) for 1 night, I thought it would be good to experience the air streamer trailer for a night and it sucked. Right next to the busy road, though the trailer interior is cosy, the road is noisy and who baths in a bath tub where you can hear people talking outside. And worse of all only a complementary drink for the downgrade and no REDUCTION in the fare. Well, to me the company pays the bill so I had nothing to gain from the reduction but this is so cheap. I have no idea how both smart and trailer have same price in the first place and trailer is not considered a downgrade. For those who plan on staying long in the hotel know that the smart category has no wardrobe in room and washing clothes is pricy, no access to washing machines. Other than that the hotel has a good bread options in breakfast. The interiors are good in the restaurant and also in the room but the roof of the room has a kind of unfinished look. Maybe meant to be quirky. The locatiom very accessible.

The stuff we’re super nice The staff was very friendly and quick. We ordered a vegetable omelet but accidentally received one with meat. When we asked to replace it, they brought us a new one within just a few minutes, and with a smile. We also had French toast, which was delicious, and the coffee was great too. The atmosphere is pleasant and not crowded. Highly recommended!
Atara M — Google review
Nice spot for burgers, steaks, and breakfast! The tartar is decent, but where this place really shines is its meat in combination with good beers and wines. Service is quick and efficient, making it a great choice for a meal out. Definitely worth a visit!
Dennis Z — Google review
For the forth time going there only for buffer breakfast. Very diverse and very kind staff. Their slogan is to be friendly and not wearing ties which makes it more comfortable and pleasant time eating there. The lady making omelets is super nice and make perfect omelets. Everyone and everything there is in the way it should be. There use to be a fresh orange juicer and they replaced it with something else which I don't think if that's freshly squeezed oranges and would be better to bring that juicer back. Price is also reasonable 26€ per person Timing is quite perfect for you to reach there anytime for breakfast

An oasis in the city. We were touring the botanical gardens around the corner and we're hoping for a sandwich to satisfy our growing pangs of hunger. This was the closest spot. What a delightful discovery! I had a lovely tuna melt which came with a little side salad and chips. I quenched my thirst with a bottle of sparkling water and relaxed with the house sparkling white. The service was perfect and the atmosphere was whimsical and restful. I would love to try the hotel the next time I am in Vienna. You should venture away from the busy ringestrasse and tourist sites to experience this little gem of a restaurant.

As a muslim, i want to give some opinions to my other fellow muslim bros and sisters. Place sells alcohol so of you are sensitive about that you can skip here but i am not so here i am. Place is amazing. It has a fixed menu for different times of the day and everything costs pretty normal for vienna. If you are vegan/vejetarian or avoiding meat (like me for obvious reasons) the fixed menu does not give a lot of choice, at least for lunch menu that i can say. Coffee is amazing and i adore good quality coffee. The theme is warm and chill, music is amazing. But it was a bit dark inside for 2pm (it was cloudy). And lastly the service personel was so kind and easygoing. I do not know his name but thank you so much! At last, as a reccomendation for lunch, i had mozarella tomato panini and a double espresso. IT WAS PERFECT. It is a great lunch/brunch place for my fellow muslims, strongly recommend.
