Cafe
Bakery
Mehlwassersalz is a bakery known for baking their own sourdough bread and offering a menu of classic breakfast items and vegetarian open-faced sandwiches from 10 am to 4 pm. The name translates to "flourwatersalt," reflecting the essential ingredients for good bread. Visitors praise the delicious coffee, zimtschnecke, croissants, vegan options, and various baked goods like focaccia with zucchini and banana bread.
We had the best pancakes in this place! First time trying sourdough pancakes and we really enjoyed it. It had a pistachio cream on top and an amazing berry coulis that accompanied it. We also had the avocado taost, it was good but nothing really special about it. The place is great for a brunch and the team is very friendly with english speakers!
Sarah Y — Google review
This place was always packed. I visited it twice and both times I have to wait around 15-25 minutes in the queue because they always full. If you really crave a good sourdough and coffee, then it would worth the wait. But if not, maybe this place is not for you. Cause even after a long wait, the cafe is not really comfy for a casual chat with friends due to the crowd. But again other than the atmosphere, they really do have good food and coffee. I saw a lot of online review praising their sourdough and they were indeed good, but what comes to my attention was their “banana bread” (I forgot the exact name, correct me if I’m wrong), and very surprised how of delicious it was! The prices was ok. I would recommend coming to this place not on their busy hours.
Qinta F — Google review
This place was amazing!! Everything we had was delightful, but the plain sliced sourdough bread with butter was truly the star and I would have eaten a whole loaf by myself if I hadn’t ordered other food!!
Maddy M — Google review
I'm having a bit of trouble giving as fair a review as possible. The food was excellent, the service very friendly and attentive, but... ...the cappuccino was not 'overly large,' and I had some doubts about the 'freshly squeezed orange juice' as to its origin (but maybe I'm doing them an injustice). The retro 80s 'disco' chairs on the terrace were uncomfortably 40 years ago and remain so ever since. With a total price of €23 for omelette, coffee, and juice, I've left with a lightly ambivalent feeling.
Michel C — Google review
The Fig bread was the best!:) And the „Choko queen“ Bread was also delicious! Hmm.. The fruit in the Gegrilltes Brioche mit aufgeschlagener Ricotta was really not my taste. But the avocado toast was perfect, THE OLIVE OIL on it smells AMAZING!!!
민지 — Google review
I went there with a vegetarian friend from India, and we were both absolutely impressed! The bread and dishes were outstanding – some of the best I’ve ever had. The avocado toast with poached egg was a real highlight, and the coffee was excellent as well. A wonderful place and a must-visit for anyone looking for a great breakfast spot in Frankfurt.
Anton S — Google review
The coffee is quite good. Food and the self baked bread is a must have for dine-in or to go. I am wondering whether the espresso cups are for sale as well.
Tim E — Google review
We visited Mehlwassersalz for breakfast and had a somewhat mixed experience. The pancakes were delicious, topped with seeds and whipped cream, and the coffee was excellent, rich and aromatic. They served bread with butter before the main dishes arrived, which was a nice touch and very enjoyable. However, the rest of the meal was not particularly special or tasty, especially considering the price we paid. The mushroom toast, while visually appealing, didn't quite meet our expectations in terms of flavor. Same applies to spinach omelette as well. Additionally, the service left much to be desired. If you have to stand up to take the cutlery, you get a bad impression of the service. On a positive note, the atmosphere of the café is pleasant, with a spacious and cozy interior. Despite the shortcomings, it has potential and might be worth a visit for the pancakes and coffee alone.

Bitter & Zart Chocolaterie is a creative chocolate shop with a turquoise design, offering international specialties and gift ideas. The café has a 1920s style, providing a pleasant atmosphere for studying or simply enjoying delicious treats. It's the perfect place for those with a sweet tooth, offering an array of cake and tart creations. Additionally, it's recommended for breakfast and brunch, serving delightful croissants, pancakes, and fresh fruit in a nostalgic setting that invites visitors to linger.
Stopped by this adorable chocolate shop after googling, “best chocolate in Frankfurt”, and I was not disappointed. Upon entering the shop there is an almost overwhelming assortment of chocolates and treats. Walls of chocolate bars of all different flavors and tables packed with chocolate and marzipan delights. I opted for a box of 16 assorted dark chocolate truffles and let the woman behind the counter choose them for me. Wrapped in a beautiful box, I was so pleased to be able to take these treats back home with me to enjoy once my vacation came to an end.

Incredible flavors inside, matched only by their service. Do yourself a favor and come indulge!
Alex N — Google review
A charming spot for a leisurely hangout or a cozy read, this place boasts a delectable selection of desserts to satisfy every palate. However, some cakes may fall short in the flavor department. The interior is lovely, though it's evident that it has been around for quite some time. I highly recommend popping into the neighboring chocolatier and indulging in their scrumptious chocolate truffles. Their assortment is vast and unique, and I always admire how they decorate their displays for various occasions.

I don’t know how to start with this place. Tue vibe is super nice and the place takes you to another place. Maybe Alice in the wonderland. The chocolate is super delicious. The lemon cake was so vibrant and good! Whenever you order a drink they bring you many sugar variants to choose from. The price is reasonable and the staff loves what they do. Totally recommend it!
Ahmed Y — Google review
Really nice bakery with a cozy ambience, with mixed modern and antique vibes. Love their pastries, especially recommend trying caramel tartlets, it has a unique taste. On the other hand, the home-made lemonade is not their best drink. Overall, a must visit on any day of the year.
G P — Google review
Nice coffee place with good selection of desserts. Unfortunately, when we visited there was no choco-torte or something similar, but overall nice cakes like cheesecake. Polite & pleasant staff.
Ioannis R — Google review
Cute coffee and tea parlor. Great for a quick bite or a dessert. Blueberry tart was delicious, so was the spinach quiche. Good prices. Service is fast and somewhat friendly. Wide drink menu. Nice ambience.
Monica R — Google review
A small cozy Cafe with good looking display of chocolate sweets and cakes that look absolutely very convincing. Nice and adequate service. Interior has red draperies , lovely furniture and decorated with interesting wallpapers figures. It’s hard to say which style it is, but somehow classic. All together that making creates a good drama, and I like it. I had mango coconut cake that looks pretty but tastes creamy, heavy... it’s not what I expected but I can accept it.

WoW, had the most cracking lunch here today with the Family, fantastically cosy very popular i think because it has great service and the food is absolutely sensational.. we went in starving came out totally satisfied, the coffee were huge and very good as well. I cant recommend this wonderful cafe/restaurant enough... fantastic...

Comfortable and welcoming coffee shop next to the cathedral. We didn’t try the cake (although we were tempted) but the coffee was very good. They also serve cold drinks and alcohol. Nice atmosphere and decor.

We celebrated our wedding brunch in 2002 and, just now we decided to visit it back, still amazing service, nice terrace and mega yummy food! Nice job guys!!! Love it !! 🙂🙃👌🏾

We arrived here after an overnight flight from the states and they were PACKED. They were very up front that they could not serve us right away, but would be happy to seat us. We were thrilled. The food that was ordered was fresh and delicious - such an amazing little spot!

Highly recommend for a fantastic breakfast experience! We had "Morning Rendezvouz", a delightful variety of options, and everything we tried was delicious. What truly set this place apart was the staff. They were friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in!

Absolutely delicious, plentiful, and beautifully presented breakfast! Delicious home lemonade, perfect matcha latte, coffees... Definitely a great place to come for brrakfast. Staff is also super friendly and kind. And atmosphere is lovely.

This is a really nice and relaxed place. We came here for lunch with our kids and it was easy to find options for everyone. The outdoor space made it easy for the kids to entertain themselves once they were done with their food. There's also a small playground in a neighboring courtyard. The food was delicious and the staff was very friendly and efficient, and the service was prompt. We'll definitely be coming here again.

Nestled in the heart of Frankfurt's Neue Altstadt, Schirn Café Bar Restaurant offers a delightful culinary experience that beautifully blends Mediterranean and Middle Eastern flavors. This contemporary eatery, connected to the renowned Schirn art gallery, is a favorite among locals for brunch, lunch, and dinner. The expansive menu features Israeli-inspired dishes with customizable options like shakshuka paired with avocado or merguez. For those with a sweet tooth, their fluffy pancakes are not to be missed.
The cuisine is modern, with quality tableware and stylish presentation. Everything I’ve tried was absolutely delicious! Excellent coffee, specialty level. Delicious desserts. The interior is also great — large windows, high ceilings, and it’s right inside the museum building. Lately, the service has been excellent! (There used to be some issues with it before) The menu was recently updated and added photos of the dishes — thank you, it’s really nice!
Dariya K — Google review
This Cafe has many seats but unfortunately too few staff who can take orders and checkouts. We had to wait and struggled for a long time until we finally got some notice. Food was good, I especially liked the bagel I ordered in addition. It was served warm and had slightly crunchy surface.
Chou S — Google review
This place is very well decorated with details of fresh flowers at every table on beautiful terrace and inside seating. I got the marrakech breakfast which was cold when it got to my table, probably because the service was SLOW and unprofessional (while I was there servers dropped trays of drinks/food twice). The carrot cake was the best part but I paired it with an espresso that lacking in size. You can pay by card but they like many places in Frankfurt don’t have wifi. They are connected to the museum.
Alejandro G — Google review
Came here by chance on a Friday night when other spots were full, and it turned out to be a pleasant find! The restaurant is right next to the metro station, making it very convenient. Spacious, nice outdoor seating, and a chill vibe. Service was pretty slow, but the staff was genuinely friendly, so we didn’t mind too much. Food was good, though not a lot of meat options for dinner—maybe because of the Middle Eastern influence? What we did try was solid: - Lamb chops – Nicely seasoned, but slightly dry. The polenta was smooth and flavorful. - Octopus – Cooked beautifully, tender with a nice hint of lemon that made it even better. Overall, a nice spot for a laid-back dinner, especially if you enjoy Mediterranean/Middle Eastern flavors.
Cherry W — Google review
They are really kind and sweet! Location and atmosphere are also cute. But the drink price is a little higher than how it was, in my opinion. Food was so nice and I loved their selection of cheese on the platter.
Sophie C — Google review
I was here about an hour before opening and the nice proprietress was kind enough to set me up with a free coffee on the house! Too bad they will be closing soon due to renovations, a shame.
Joon C — Google review
Very solid and fresh brunch options with a great outdoor space to enjoy yourself before conquering Frankfurt’s old town and River Main walk. The bagel was fairly priced and was largely portioned, though it will not leave you bloated.
Dominic A — Google review
I second another review: yes, the pancakes with fried chicken taste very nice! Good combination of sweet and savoury. Relaxing atmosphere and friendly service as well. A perfect stopping point after visiting the Schirn gallery.

When in Frankfurt, a visit to Zeit für Brot is an absolute must! This beloved bakery has been delighting locals and visitors alike since its inception in 2009. Known for its delectable Schnecken—cinnamon rolls that come in a variety of flavors like chocolate, apple, and even rhubarb—this spot often sees queues stretching out the door. But don’t let that deter you; the friendly staff work quickly to ensure your wait is worthwhile.
We tried the apple cinnamon roll, pecan maple syrup, lemon ginger, and dark chocolate. We strongly relished the two first ones which were delicious. The other two were okay (not as moist and fluffy). We also got the babka, which was incredible. We finally purchased a bretzel, which was dry and underwhelming.
Ophelie C — Google review
Those cinnamon rolls are soooo good! Many different flavors and so fluffy. The ambience inside is not very welcoming and the staff seemed quite stressed and could be a bit more friendly. But still, I’ll be back for the rolls!
Viktoria R — Google review
OMG ! The best Rolls & Buns I ever had.. Not too sweet, very fresh, very soft, too good.. Please start delivering (Wolt / Lieferando). Unfortunately the service was not good for me. One of the lady stuff was not very welcoming; I probably spent 2-3 minutes looking at all the buns and rolls. All of those were so tempting that I couldn't decide which ones to take and which ones to skip. When the female employee realized that I was here for the first time and I was confused so I ordered 2 of them randomly, she made a strange facial expression, smiled at her colleague, and then staring at me with a funny expression. It was extremely awkward. However, there was only one German female customer behind me, she must have noticed the whole thing in those 3-4 minutes; after I paid, she looked at me with a smile and said that she also likes the walnut bun that I took; & said that she hopes I will like it too. I thanked her, exchanged gratitude and left the store. I have encountered racist people many times in many places, so these days they don't bother me much, but if that female staff reads my comment, I will request her to be a little more humane towards everyone. But yes if I get a chance I will definitely visit this store again in the future.
Subhasree S — Google review
I tried this type of rolls, delicious 😋. Moreover, they are generous. The cup of coffee ☕️ is good 👍🏻 and enough to enjoy the big rolls 😍. Thank you Zoe for your nice welcoming and your generous ⭐️
Younes H — Google review
Really lovely bakery! Happy for all the vegetarian options too. We tried the sandwiches (egg and hummus), herbed cheese and vegetable sandwich, a pretzel, rhubarb coffee cake, iced and hot americano. It was really busy but the staff helped everyone quickly while also organizing the pastry case so it looked appealing. Coffee was made well too. Seating is a little limited but it seemed to accommodate everyone okay on a really rainy morning. The bread quality is fantastic and all dishes are composed well. The balance of flavors and textures really pleased us after a good workout.
Courtney D — Google review
Fluffy cinnamon rolls are very delicious and light not too sugary. The cappuccino is ok but the espresso is not that good. It needs to be more consistent and concentrated. The location is nice and you can set outside in the warm weather. However the trolley was full for returning the empty plates. This can be improved in the future.
Y H — Google review
When you arrive you can see the line outside the shop because the pastries taste very good. They have plenty of bread and pastries. All of them look very good and you want to take it all. LOL. They also have coffee, tea, and soda. They have 6 tables inside, bar seats inside available for you and if you want to enjoy the sun they have 4 tables outside as well. You can see through the pastries to see how they can make delicious things. The staffs are nice and friendly. They can speak English very well. The price is reasonable. They have no parking space. The shop is easy to find. The waiting time is around 3-5 min. You can use the card and cash.

Highly recommend! The coffee and breakfast burger with egg, reminiscent of an egg sandwich, were delicious! I also tried the cinnamon apple roll, which was very good and generously portioned—enough for two people.

Cafe Kante, located in Nordend, Frankfurt, has maintained its charm over the 20 years since it was established by a cab driver, technician, and unemployed actor. The cafe fosters a strong sense of community among its clientele and is celebrated for its warm and welcoming atmosphere. While the breakfast offerings are simple yet satisfying with items like bread rolls and sausages, the cafe is praised for its great coffee and tasty pastries.
Both the people working there and the customers create such a warm atmosphere. I went to a free entry jazz event they hosted the other evening. Truly, everyone's love for food, music, and good company make this place precious.

Awful experience. We were rudely told to sit to be served. Ten minutes later saw the waitress serve others just arrived. I asked why we are not served, she said she never saw us. We were in plain site. I guess they did not like english speaking tourists.

This is a beautiful spot in Frankfurt. Hidden just a few steps away from the main shopping street, you find this café. They offer great coffee and tasty cakes and pastry. The service is friendly, and there is a typical Frankfurt atmosphere that surrounds you. A must when around!

Small friendly place that the locals go to. Breakfast was average! Maybe I should’ve gotten something else, but I would personally not go back for the food :/

Small café with solid breakfast options. Rather busy on Sundays with people picking up pastry takeaways. Müsli / fruit salad choices are good. Coffee was okay but could've been better. Croissants are very fresh and delicious. Maultaschen soup was rather salty.

Warming cake shop in Frankfurt. The white one which we bought was so nice! It was like a butter cake. Atmosphere is also lovely. These cake made my Christmas Day wonderful, thank you.

This German pastry shop is a true corner of paradise, where every sweet tells a story of love and tradition. Their strudel is pure poetry: the crispy pastry embraces a warm, fragrant filling that makes the heart sing. Every bite is an explosion of sweetness, like a kiss that warms the soul. Here, the passion for the art of pastry is felt in every detail, from the enveloping aroma to the refined presentation. A place where taste becomes emotion, and unconditional love melts in your mouth

We had their famous Black Forest cake and cheese cake, both were delectable. It was hard to find good Black Forest cakes in Germany and we are glad to have found this place and enjoyed a taste of Germany here. The baker/owner of the bakery was incredibly kind and we hope to come back for the carrot cake (owner said usually available around Easter only) one day! ♥️😌

Tiny little gem of a bakery in Frankfurt’s old town! ConditCouture is perfect if you love really good cakes, pastries, and sweets. The Frankfurter Kranz was one of the best I’ve tried, the staff are friendly, and everything feels high-quality and carefully made. Cozy atmosphere and a great place for a treat or a gift when exploring around Römer.

Delicious cakes. We went three times in two days. The Frankfurter Means cake was my favorite, however all of the cakes are winners. The staff is friendly and the kucken is fresh. Come here and have slice with a cup of coffee!
Philip H — Google review
The carrot cake was so moist and delicious and the best carrot cake I have ever had. I have travelled throughout North America, Asia, and Europe eating many carrot cakes. The Frankfurt Kranz was creamy, very sweet but the cake part was very dry. The hot chocolate was delicious. The Bethmannchen cookie was delicious with a marzipan taste. There are about 15 tables immediately outside of ConditCouture, with about 5 empty tables on a Saturday afternoon around 4pm. The shop is located on the periphery of the Romer-Romerberg plaza.

Wandering around the old town, you might suddenly want something sweet. Good news, there's a great place for a break with yummy cakes. You can grab a coffee to go with them and chill out. It's the perfect spot to recharge and keep exploring.

The staff is attentive, they were patient with me when I tried to speak in German (they speak English). The apple strudel is good, not cloying, consistent pieces of fruit, good balance of flavors and texture. The blueberry pie wasn't the best, it had a sour aftertaste which I attribute to the fact that they don't use too much sugar which I think is great.

MokkaTeeria is a charming coffee shop in Frankfurt that offers a delightful selection of Turkish coffee, cappuccino, and other classic coffee specialties. The oriental decor adds to the enchanting ambiance. The traditional preparation of Mokka on hot sand and the use of Dalla Corte's espresso machine ensure an authentic experience. In addition to their excellent mocha coffee, they also serve delicious Chai tea and Salep for those looking for something unique.
Overall great experience. Nice staff and incredible tasting food. There was no menu in English and we still managed to order. There is a Rewe beside it with a large parking space. Would definitely return. Great value for what you are getting

When I arrived at the cafe, I didn’t expect it to be so crowded. Without a reservation, I had to wait outside for a table to become available. Since it was quite cold, around 1°C, the staff kindly came out, apologized for the wait, and offered us a free cup of tea to warm up—a gesture that truly surprised me! After about 15 minutes, we were finally able to go inside. The ambiance was delightful and very welcoming. The decor had a beautiful Arabic-Turkish style, creating a unique and cozy atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly and took the time to explain the cakes on offer, even recommending the best ones. I chose the Spicy Cake and a Cheesecake with green sauce, along with two coffees. The total cost for 2 cakes and 2 coffees was €23. Both cakes were amazing, but I personally loved the Spicy Cake more! That said, there are a few downsides worth mentioning. Finding parking nearby is quite difficult. Additionally, a couple of guests brought small dogs inside on their laps, which I found it unhygienic. Lastly, some of the chairs were not very ergonomic and lacked proper back support. Despite these minor issues, I would visit the cafe again and highly recommend this wonderful cafe in the heart of Frankfurt. It’s truly worth a visit!

Very friendly personal I was for breakfast here and like it. Very delicious breakfast, we ordered Pasha breakfast ( very delicious and good for 2 people then hungry), San Sebastien with lotus cream, Pistachio pancakes and cappuccino. For all 61€. I recommend for try and I want again try another dessert

One of my go-to cafés in Frankfurt for cakes and tea. This time I had the Garden Party Tea with a beautiful aroma, the San Sebastian Mango Cheesecake with a fresh and light flavor (I still prefer their classic version with chocolate sauce), the Dubai Cheesecake with perfectly balanced sweetness, and the vegan Apple Cinnamon Cake which was soft, fresh, and full of apples. They have a great variety of fresh cakes, quality coffee and teas, plus breakfast and snack options. The location is central and often busy, so reserving a table is a good idea, especially on weekends. A lovely spot for anyone who enjoys good cake and a cozy atmosphere.

MrBeard — Google review
Nice experience overall. The Turkish coffee was beautifully presented and served, and there was a huge selection of cakes that were very tasty. The main drawback was the waiting time to find a spot, which can be lengthy. Despite that, a pleasant place for coffee, dessert, and a casual visit.
Yasmine L — Google review
The staff does not speak English very well - so this caused some confusions in the order we placed. And since this cafe is almost always busy (given their opening hours extend long in the evening and the central location), the staff may sometime act a little impatient (and impolite). This cafe offers a really large range of cakes, desserts, coffees, milkshakes, and smoothies, but the flavors in general are not standouts. Prices are slightly on the higher end.

If you're in the mood for a delicious slice of cake, MokkaTeeria Bread&Sweets is the place for you. The cakes here are some of the best that I've ever tasted, and the atmosphere is really pleasant too. The staff are very friendly and attentive, which makes it a great place to visit.
The lotus cheese cake was just perfect, We didn’t like the vegan pistachio cake but the coffee was also great 👍🏻

I cannot agree to any of the positive recensions. The staff is extremely aggressive, arrogant and rude. The owner survives only because he deletes hundreds of negative comments, instead of training his staff . Most of the client are aware of that , because we Clients are not stupid , but we talk with another about your cafe!!! The atmosphere changed very negatively in this cafe since it got renovated !!! Prices for cakes and snacks are exorbitant high, 24€ for 2 cakes to coffee !!! Never again !!

Bäckerei Hanss is a third-generation family-run bakery that has been in operation since November 1, 1935. It was awarded the title of best bakery in Germany in 2013 by the magazine 'Der Feinschmecker' (The Gourmet). The bakery offers a cozy setting with birch logs and a delightful menu featuring flavors like beef, hay-milk cheese, and homemade sauces. Visitors can also enjoy their pepper-crusted beef burgers.
While we were having dinner at a local restaurant, an older gentleman from Backerei Hanss brought a basket of bread and pastries to our table. The two men sitting next to us told us that Backerei Hanss is a local bakery that has been around for a long time and you can find the best Ginger Cookies at their shop. We visited the store the very next day, what a lovely little shop! We end up bought all kind of treats to bring back home as gifts.

Royal Donuts Frankfurt is a must-try donut shop in the city. Lines can be long, but it's well worth the wait. Choose from a variety of delicious donuts, including rainbow sprinkle, blueberry crumble, and cronut donut!
BEST VEGAN DONUTS IN TOWN! let’s keep it short and simple: Service: Very friendly and helpful! He recommended a few tasty donuts and freshly prepared them for me. Food: If you have a sweet tooth… this is the place! Many vegan options - more than enough and all very tasty! My personal favorite will always be the classic, but nevertheless; they all were great.
Vegan B — Google review
Ordered online and i dont understand the complaints. As on the others pictures aswell my donuts looked exactly like advertised. Compared to DD they arw a bit lighter in my opinion which i like. Just very good donuts
Lukas J — Google review
Service mind not available here. The staff was not friendly at all. She seems annoyed and upset. She didn't smile and wasn't amused that i need time a bit to choose the donut. Today was my first time at royal donut and i need time to look around. It was not easy to choose. The price isn't reasonable. You pay1,40€ extra for nutella filling but you get a very little amount of nutella. She gave me a ripped 5€ note for a change. I asked politely for a note that is not ripped. She said she doesn't have. I asked for coins instead. She said that she doesn't have even coins for a change too.... The donut was ok. Edible. It tastes not that great but not bad. To be honest, All donuts don't look good but very messy. The chocolate coating is quiet hard. The staff's friendliness is very low. Not again.
Ploy R — Google review
Best donuts in Germany! The queue can get quite long, but it’s worth the wait!
Cleagh S — Google review
In this period you will need to wait 30-40 min in a row to get your donuts. But still "Royal Donuts Frankfurt" are super tasty, all recomendations! 😍
Dina K — Google review
Ill begin with the positive. The staff members were very very friendly and adviced us kindly about their donut sortiment. The store itself had a wonderful location and I've felt welcomed. Outside was a great place to sit, very comfortable. HOWEVER, I was disappointed about the very thing I was visiting for. The donuts themselves didnt taste good at all. Frankly, the donuts at Rewe taste better. The dough was dry. The icing tastes like nothing and the flavors are confusing. I ordered the cheesecake donut, which looked delicious, but tasted like a mixture of margarine and lemon. The chocolate donuts were barely sweet and a bit stale. I would definitely visit again for the space and climate but the donuts themselves need a revamped recipe.
Brandon B — Google review
I get that this has become more of a scene thing than anything else, and obviously nothing anyone says would deter someone who is willing to stand in a line of 30+ people in the rain for a donut. But after months of seeing the crazy lines, I finally tried these donuts and ... they are very, very mediocre. All effort clearly goes into decoration, but the donuts themselves are too dense/spongy/oily. Disappointing!
Rebecca L — Google review
I no longer need big chains to satisfy my doughnut cravings. They do everything, and much better than anywhere else. Vegan options are always available, which is astounding since it is sooo gooooddd

Exceptional vegan cake shop! The cakes here are just phenomenal!! It just tastes soo delicious - not even realizing that it's a vegan cake! The cakes for order are really well decorated. A great gift for birthdays and other occasions!

I happened to stumble across this place while I was visiting the area and I needed breakfast and a cup of coffee. The place itself was very cute, lots of seating, considering the space and what I liked about the experience was that you could grab a quick meal or snack because they were already prepared ( some of them ) I had a lovely Chia pudding that was very a generous portion. There are lots of options and super convenient for takeaway, love that! I also ordered a flat white, which was just OK. Note that all the coffees are with plant-based milk. The one thing that took a lot away from the experience for me, was the service, there were a lot of people working behind the counter however nobody told me where to order (I thought you sit and order since there were menus on the tables) and how the service worked, when I asked, they were a bit unfriendly and told me to go to the counter to pay first. They were also quite busy with Uber eats orders, which I guess was reflected in the service.
Foodie H — Google review
Great acai bowl and all vegan, refined sugar and gluten free. Great option if you don’t mind paying a bit more! One slight issue is the service is quite slow- we got our drinks when we were almost done with our food, but the staff was pleasant. Overall good experience, if a little pricey.
Zoë S — Google review
Decent, healthy option. I enjoyed my meal, which was a sort of sampling platter, but my lunch companion found her bowl a bit flavorless and leaving a lot to be desired. I have been to one of Plants & Cakes other locations and had a similar experience. It's definitely not exceptional and, depending on the dish, it might be hit or miss.
Lauren — Google review
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I stumbled upon this gem of a cafe during my visit to Frankfurt, and I'm so glad I did! Not only do they serve some of the best-tasting sugar-free cakes I've ever tried, but the fact that they're easily digestible due to using only date sweetness is a game-changer. The breakfast options, especially the peanut-chocolate porridge, are top-notch. I was blown away by the staff's generosity when they offered to top up my peanut chocolate porridge with fresh berries at no extra cost! While the prices may be on the higher end, the quality and taste are truly magnificent. If you find yourself in Frankfurt, make sure to carve out some time to visit this cafe – it's an absolute must-visit! 🍰🥣✨

I ate one of the best açaí bowl I’ve ever had! The açaí was fresh and tasted authentic, not watered down or overpowered by banana, which is often the case at other places! 🍌 Not only did it taste amazing, it also looked lovely and very instagrammable! The bowl was prepared quickly. All in all: 10/10 would recommend! There’s outdoor and indoor seating, lots of stuff for takeaway and they also serve savory dishes!
David D — Google review
Great place for vegans / people with intolerances / fruit&veggie lovers. I enjoyed all meals we had and would love to try more if they wouldn't be so filling. Great colours, quick service and always full. Coffee might need some work but otherwise we were happy and will be back.
Lucie K — Google review
The lady behind the counter was super courteous and friendly, very patient. The green smoothies are made from scratch and it was delicious! I also had the raw carrot cake, which was sweetened only with dates and no added sugar. Hard to find a place like that! Loved the ambience and the place is tastefully decorated. I would come here again!

Gugelhupf shows how digital 2022 should be. I give it 5 stars because the POS system should be the standard for similar restaurants. Easy and fast. Interior is nice, mixed chairs, clean open. The food (gugelhupf club) is ok, a bit to much sauce and hard to eat, but still 4/5.

Viktorias Baumkuchen is a delightful treat that embodies the essence of traditional German baking. Known as "tree cake," this exquisite dessert features golden lines reminiscent of tree rings when sliced, showcasing its layered vanilla batter. While the classic version shines on its own, Viktoria also offers enticing variations that incorporate nuts, marzipan, nougat, and even a splash of liquor for added flavor.
We came across Viktoria over a recommendation through our event manager and owner! Boy oh boy has she overtrumped our expectations! She didn’t only create our dream wedding cake, she made it better! It was beautiful, exquisite and tasteful! I think next to my husband and the flowers, her creation was the most beautiful thing I have seen on our wedding day! The photos do not do her cake justice! (Translated by Google) We bought a Baumkuchen in dark chocolate at the Idstein Autumn Market today and our expectations were fully met or even exceeded. The chocolate is pleasantly thick and the cake batter is very light, soft and has a subtle coconut note. I think the price of €58 per kilo is justified by the time-consuming production process, especially because people only treat themselves to Baumkuchen on special occasions. I had read about Viktoria Baumkuchen in the FAZ some time ago and was excited to shop there. A very nice gift idea. We will definitely order again. Den Preis von 58€ pro Kilo finde ich durch die aufwendige Herstellung gerechtfertigt, vor allem weil man sich den Baumkuchen nur zu besonderen Anlässen gönnt. The cafe IIMORI Patisserie has a very beautiful interior with delicate French and Japanese flavors blending together elegantly. The cakes are delicious, but the drinks are not so great. It's a good place to spend your weekend with friends and family.
I discovered this place a decade ago and have been coming back with friends, family and alone throughout the years, so I thought it was about time for a review. :-) It's one of my favorite cafes, the decoration is a little eccentric, vintage and unique, it definitely speaks to me and I love spending time here. The personell is always super friendly, I don't remember ever seeing them in a bad mood. The pastries are usually around 5~7€ per piece and definitely worth it, they are incredibly delicious! Thank you for always providing a great time!
Mazury — Google review
Food looks amazing and tastes very good. The interior is really astonishing. We had to eat outside on a small table which wasn’t really our plan but it was still fine. Lots of choices to eat. Will definitely visit again and try the other pastries and shushi.
Alyssa B — Google review
The food looked and tasted amazing. I've also had an Iced Matcha Smoothie, which was a bit too watery in my opinion but the scoop of ice cream was delicious.
Katelyn L — Google review
Such a cute experience! 💝 Lovely café, with such good japanese style cakes, it was really delicious. What I love the most is the unique decor, makes you feel like inside an anime movie (Neko no ongaeshi vibe 🤭), it's so charming! I definitely will come back.
M S — Google review
Almost everything about this cafeteria is amazing. You might find yourself lost amongst the range of options they have to offer - both for drinks and food. Location is amazing and cannot be better - right in the heart of Dom Römer. The staff speaks English and is really sweet - so that helps. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. I'd definitely recommend this place for a date, or just visiting casually. Prices might feel a little higher than usual, but again - the general ambience of the place and the atmosphere around it compensates for the prices!
Neelesh B — Google review
Pros: The cake quality is exceptional, and there is a wide variety with creative flavors. Cons: The service could be more attentive and efficient. Verdict: This place is great for cake lovers; with improved service, it would easily earn five stars.
Yasmine L — Google review
Almost the cakes we tried were good (except for the Matcha Roll which had no matcha taste at all and was very bland, felt like eating just a sponge cake with a layer of heavy cream). Matcha smoothie was nice, so was warm Yuzu tea. The staff seemed not to be friendly, most of them showed a flat face.
Duong T — Google review
Lovely spot and friendly staff but a bit overpriced. The roll cake was great but the bamkuchen was very dry and didn't live up to its price at all... I did like the cozy atmosphere and the roll cake/the drink were fine so overall still an okay experience. Just make sure to avoid the bamkuchen.

Mozart Café is a quaint coffeehouse with red booths and armchairs in a historical setting. It's perfect for a relaxing stop, with delicious traditional cakes and all-day dining options. Prices are on the high side, but the cafe offers lovely aromas from the neighbouring flower shop.
Yum! Great food! Nice little café! So glad we stopped there!

Mozart Café is a lovely spot with a great selection of cakes. The Apfelstrudel is my favorite—perfectly flaky and full of flavor. You can tell they take their desserts seriously. The café also has a really nice decor, with a cozy and elegant vibe that makes it a great place to relax. The staff is friendly, though service can be a bit slow when it’s busy. Overall, it’s a solid place for a coffee and cake break.

The Mozard Cafe in Frankfurt, located 7mins walking distance away from the Frankfurt Cathedral. A pretty cute little coffee shop with full-open front, to let you sit on the side walk, also to demonstrate their friendship. Strongly recommend their Iced Coffee and lemonade, it will just smooth out your summer heat like that.

Cozy place to be. Most of time only seniors visited there. Maybe only people with life experience can appreciate such historical cafe~

The best Mohnkuchen and Mozartkuchen we have literally ever had. And we have tried cakes all over Germany. 10 out of 10.
Sara H — Google review
Great service as we were welcomed at the door… The setting was very traditional, the cake selection was unique and coffee very well done. I can only recommend!
Jason S — Google review
The food was alright but way to expensive for what it was. Two Crêpes with a bit of Nutella or Jam for 10€?! Messy Adding to this, the waitresses weren't really friendly. Definitely not coming back but I guess it was an experience 🤷🏻‍♀️

Had a selection of three german deserts: mozart cake, apple strüdel (baked fresh), and Kranz Cake with 3 americanos. The cakes were good but the strüdel was the best out of the three. Would definitely reccomend

Café Laumer is a centuries-old Viennese café with a leafy garden that serves sumptuous cakes and bistro dishes. The ambience is relaxing and perfect for a Sunday brunch. Excellent food and service make this an ideal spot to enjoy a bit of Viennese culture.
Café Laumer – Frankfurt ☕✨ We were in Frankfurt for a two-day transit and decided to explore a good spot for a relaxing break. After reading all the glowing Google reviews, we chose Café Laumer — and I can assure you, whatever you read about this place will never be enough to describe how great it truly is. From the warm and attentive service to the exceptional quality and unforgettable taste of everything we tried, Café Laumer completely exceeded our expectations. In the middle of such a busy city, it offers a calm and elegant atmosphere that makes you feel instantly at ease. A true gem of Frankfurt, where every detail reflects care, passion, and tradition. Please, keep up the fantastic work you’re doing — places like this make travel memorable. 💛
Nizar L — Google review
A classy-looking cafe in a nice street. Laumer has a beautiful interior and also many outside seating spots. I had lunch here and then a cake and coffee. Definitely recommended for a sweet treat! It looks like a very good spot for a date.

Return often One of my faves in Frankfurt, that has been here for ages: since 1919 to be exact. It’s large, with street seating out front (never sat there), to thin balcony, to L shaped indoor, to generous backyard patio. The cakes are great. The balcony tables are my fave location. After 1990s, DZ Bank skyscraper pops up in the view. Service is adequate. This last time at 11am, the young lady either experienced enough to leave us alone, or slow to serve. I’ve to look for her for serve and bill, which is fine. Credit card for over €10, and no Amex.

We like to come here for breakfast; there are various dished dishes to choose from. Seats are also comfy. Breakfast is offered until ca 15:30.

Wanted to try Frankfurt's popular cake, "Frankfurter Kranz," and I stumbled upon this cafe with a great atmosphere and service. I liked the coffee more than the cake itself, but it's worth a try. 🎂😁 Maybe next time I'll try some other cake. Cards are accepted for bills above 10 euros. #Frankfurt #Cafe #Coffee #Cake #Yummy #Travel #Explore

Fabulous spot for a coffee or a cake outside when the sun is shining. The Italian waiter gentleman was friendly. The carrot cake was good. The Frankfurter Kranz, not so great. Great ambience, though.

Coffee and cake selections are very tasty. Also as a place it is very nice decorated, on the wall there are always new paintings, which is like an art Galerie. It is an old traditional decorated coffee shop and very chic. Highly recommended coffee place, thanks for the high value service

Cafe Nostalgie Frankfurt is a charming spot with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The owner takes pride in offering homemade cakes and pastries, eagerly sharing details about their preparation. Visitors rave about the delicious cakes, coffees, and breakfast options. The staff is attentive and friendly, ensuring a delightful experience for guests. With its cozy ambiance and delectable offerings, this cafe is highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy a delightful breakfast or indulge in some freshly baked treats.
If I could give this 10 stars I would! Paul was so nice and so great to talk to! You can tell that he really puts so much thought and care into every detail of the cafe. From the decorations which are from kings palace in Vienna to the locally sourced eggs and the made to order freshly squeezed orange juice. The food was so incredible. We got the Greek Omelette and the Texas Breakfast. And we definitely took some of the cake to go! I definitely recommend going here if you’re in Frankfurt! It’s #1!!
Jocelyn — Google review
Cafe Nostalgia is in a quiet residential neighborhood owned and run by an older couple. While they do have some choices for traditional German kuchen, their specialty is Eastern European cake. We had two kinds- chocolate strawberry and honey. The strawberry was a bit sweet for our taste, but the honey was light and only slightly sweet. We had a coffee drink made with espresso and frothed milk which we really enjoyed. The prices are higher than most places in town, and if you pay by credit card you have to pay an extra 2.50 euros. That was a bit of an additional unnecessary cost for us.

It was lovely chilly day to walk down the Zeil street and crave for the delicious German delicacies always found in cafes. I found this fantastic place where I met with the lovely barista who very kindly served me with the coffee plus two tasty pastries. The other lady was very kind and polite plus a talkative one 😁💖. I was overwhelmed to find out that my neighbors on the next table were Italian speaking ladies. I enjoyed listening to the musical way of conversation between each other. I shall definitely come back to that kind and cozy environment. NOTE: the last image was borrowed from the great Google images.

The chocolate cake was bland and dry. Not much flavour. The chocolate muffins however were delicious!
Shauna M — Google review
The service was abysmal. I arrived right at 7, when they open. I was running to a work meeting, and to see if they were open, I knocked on the door, as it was locked. The shopkeeper rudely gestured at me to go away, but I'd already waited a while, so I stayed. When she finally opened the door, she released a stream of angry German at me, and remained annoyed throughout the interaction. I speak enough German to know it wasn't kind, but not enough to pass as local. I got my delicious pastry and left, but it was not a pleasant encounter. Edit: the pastries were so good that I went back every morning. Still a weird vibe, but yum. Worth the cantankery.
Jennifer S — Google review
This is by far the worst café I’ve ever been to in terms of customer service. First, the owner wouldn’t let us pay by credit card. Then, when I was using Google Translate on my phone (since the menu is all in German), the owner told me to stop taking photos. I explained I was just translating, not taking pictures, but she didn’t seem to care—super unfriendly. To top it off, there was a bee flying around the bread, so hygiene was definitely questionable. After all this, I figured the food must be amazing, especially with the owner’s attitude. But nope, it was just as disappointing as everything else. Honestly, I never expected such a bad breakfast experience.
刘长佳 — Google review
Not much meal choices, or drinks for a cafe . Staff was not in a good mood . Perhaps because she was working alone . If you are looking for traditional ice cream flavours then you can have the ice cream .
Christopher L — Google review
👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼 I read the reviews, but I went anyway just out of morbid curiosity. All the negative reviews are true. This lady is comically horrible. Didn’t greet us, acted irritated that we were in her bakery, got angry when we tried to sit down in one of the many empty chairs. She said something about it only being for takeout while shaking her finger at us. There’s nothing good I can say about the service, other than it gave us a laugh. This lady belongs in a Disney movie as an over emphatic villain. You’d think you’d pay a lower price with horrible service like this, but no, it was expensive.
Jeff H — Google review
Update 2020... The coffee used to be better and on the day that I was there the service by the waitress was bad (the cashier and the other lady on the bakery was good though) unfortunately they still do not accept card, only cash. The only good thing about the place is the food quality and the space that they have

Kamps Backstube is a popular bakery located at the station, known for its divine croissants that are a must-try. Visitors also rave about their delicious cappuccino with plenty of foam and the delectable Cinnabon. The Choco Wuppi is another favorite among patrons, making it a go-to spot for delightful pastries and beverages while on the go.
After a long journey, I found myself at Frankfurt train station, and this spot became my breakfast sanctuary. I went with an egg sandwich and a cup of coffee. The coffee was decent—nothing exceptional—but the egg sandwich? Simply extraordinary. It was a bit on the greasy side, but the freshness and flavor more than made up for it. In fact, it looked so tempting that I couldn’t resist taking a big bite before even thinking of snapping a photo. So, forgive me for the half-eaten sandwich picture—I just couldn’t wait! 😊 If you’re ever at the station, this place is definitely worth a stop.

The coffee was a disaster. The waiter was rude and spoke no English. Although the cinnamon roll was quite tasty, I would not recommend it.
Maros Z — Google review
I bought the hazelnut roll and cinnamon roll, both of them seems like undercooked, can still taste the texture of flour. The staff was not waking up yet, keeping yawn all the time, made wrong order and forgot what just put in the bag. This staff is not attentive and disgrace, she was not even saying a single word during my order, and sneezing to the food.
