Hawaiian restaurant
Fast food restaurant
Rainbow Drive-In is a legendary Hawaiian spot known for its counter-serve style and delicious local food. Since 1961, it has been serving up iconic dishes like BBQ beef plate, Loco Moco plate, Rainbow Royal Burger, BBQ Ahi plate, and more. Despite its humble beginnings as a small eatery offering affordable meals, it has gained recognition from Honolulu Star Advertiser and Honolulu Magazine.
Rainbow Drive-In is one of those places that completely lives up to the hype. I’ve been here a couple of times now, and every visit reminds me why this spot is such a must-try on Oʻahu. It’s got that classic local feel, delicious comfort food, and prices that are surprisingly reasonable, especially for how famous it is. We came on a Thursday night, and luckily it wasn’t too busy. Parking was easy, and the line moved quickly. I ordered the chili loco moco this time, and wow—it was absolutely worth every calorie. The rice, hamburger patty, egg, and that signature chili all come together perfectly in one hearty plate. It’s the kind of meal that leaves you full and happy, the way true local plate lunches should. I also ordered a bowl of saimin on the side, which was the perfect balance—simple, flavorful, and comforting. We came with a big group of 13 people, and we actually lucked out with seating together, which I know doesn’t always happen at popular spots like this. There’s a good amount of outdoor seating available, but I can imagine on a weekend or during peak hours it might get packed. Still, the staff were friendly and efficient, and even with a large group, our food came out quickly and everything was fresh and hot. What I love most about Rainbow Drive-In is that it feels authentic. It’s not fancy, but it doesn’t need to be—the food speaks for itself. You can tell this place has been a staple for both locals and visitors for years. Whether you’re craving loco moco, plate lunches, or just want to experience a true taste of Hawaiʻi, this spot delivers every time. If you’re on this side of the island, definitely make the stop. Grab a plate, find a seat, and enjoy some of the best local comfort food around. Rainbow Drive-In is an island classic for a reason!

The venerable local plate lunch spot that’s been here for decades. Got the mixed plate for old time sake and food was up within a few minutes. Sad to say it wasn’t as excellent as I remember. I don’t know if it’s just me, but the taste was just OK. some of the other places on the mainland is better (not L&L there though). Meat a little on the dry side and excess mayo in the Mac salad. Would still recommend, to check that off your list, and in the case, I may have come on a bad day. I probably won’t be back this trip because there are a bunch of other places I need to try.
Alex — Google review
I personally prefer more flavor with natural spices so this place just wasn’t a fit for me. I did like the atmosphere, ambiance etc and was glad I came out as this place came highly rated. Good portion sizes for sure.
Angel W — Google review
Finally got to try the iconic Rainbow Drive-in and while it’s been around for a long time, I wasn’t that impressed by the food. My sister-in-law ordered the shrimp tempura and spam and eggs plate. Taste was good, average, nothing exciting. My boyfriend ordered the loco moco and was sorely disappointed by the size of the burger patty - small and thin. I did grab a couple of shirts and stickers that were super cute. Probably won’t come back but glad I came to say that I tried it.
Cathy V — Google review
Friday night visit, first time, the macaroni salad had entirely too much mayonnaise. The rice was ok. The meats were the best parts of the entrees:braised chicken thighs and bbq pork. The bbq pork would've been better if it was served with some bbq sauce. The service was fine. They have several tables to sit at or you can get your food to go. The noise level was not too loud, you could easily hear the person next to you.
Tonisha C — Google review
This place has rave reviews on social media and is described as a must-try spot when visiting Oahu, so my family and I decided to check it out. The atmosphere is really cool — it has that old-school, retro vibe that makes it feel like a true local favorite. I ordered the famous Loco Moco since everyone online said it was a must, but I personally prefer more flavor in my food. The patties were thin and reminded me of a high school lunch meal — not terrible, just not as flavorful as I expected. My son got the cheeseburger and said it was also pretty bland, which was a bit disappointing considering all the hype. On the bright side, the macaroni salad was excellent — creamy, tasty, and probably the best part of the meal. Overall, it’s worth stopping by for the experience and local vibe, but the food didn’t quite live up to the social media buzz for us.
Rudy G — Google review
So i ordered a pork cutlet... the breading basically slipped off the meat, gravy has no flavor to it, and it is super thick. Mac salad the only highlight of this. Really expected it to be good because the other drive ins are better. The area is just not the best. Lots of homeless. The worker was really grumpy and wasn't the very nicest.
Mia L — Google review
We got the mix plate and chili cheese fries. There were a lot of seatings but we were attacked the pigeons and other birds that were there lol so eat in your car or go when they're not around. The food portion were great hit the spot!

Udon noodle restaurant
If you're on the hunt for a delightful dining experience in Hawaii, look no further than Marugame Udon. This casual Japanese eatery, with two locations in Honolulu, specializes in hand-crafted udon bowls and tempura. Staying true to traditional Japanese noodle-making techniques, Marugame Udon offers made-to-order noodles that you can watch being prepared right before your eyes.
It’s a nice place for udon noodles and tempura. The udon are made fresh from powder and cut into strips. The tempura are freshly fried too. It’s more of a show place of freshly made udon. The broth is rich making it harder to finish a large bowl. The line is usually long in the evening but it only took us 23 minutes from waiting in line to sitting and eating. There are electrical outlets up on the ceiling for anyone who needs to charge their phone.
Doua M — Google review
We visited Marugame Udon not so much because I was personally interested, but because it was on my husband’s must-try list. He absolutely loved it, and I have to admit the flavors were very good. I ordered the simplest bowl with just green scallions. The broth had a rich, almost mushroom-like flavor that I enjoyed, though I didn’t focus on finishing all the noodles since I try to limit carbs. On the side, I had a tempura asparagus that was fresh and tasty. Overall, it’s not really my type of food, so I wouldn’t say it’s a place I’d rush back to on my own—but it was still a good experience, especially for my husband who really enjoyed it. One thing I did notice was that it felt extremely hot inside while we were eating. The air conditioning didn’t seem to be working properly, and with a steaming bowl of soup in front of us, it honestly felt like a sauna. We went on a Sunday afternoon around 2:30–3:00, and it wasn’t crowded at all. Service was fast, the portions were generous, and the quality was solid. If you love udon, this is definitely worth a visit. 🍲
Dolca C — Google review
Really impressed! We ordered the Tonkatsu Undo along with a bunch of sides fried chicken, fried squid, and a teriyaki chicken bowl. Everything was flavourful and fresh. Having been to Japan myself, I can say the soup here tastes very authentic. Definitely one of the better Japanese spots I’ve tried outside Japan. I’ll be coming back for sure next time I’m in Hawaii!
Austin O — Google review
We absolutely loved Marugame Udon! We were staying in the Waikīkī area and ended up coming here multiple times during our trip because it was that good. The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and served fast, even when the line is out the door (which moves surprisingly quickly). I had the Tonkotsu and the #1 on different visits, and both were excellent. The broth was rich, the noodles perfectly cooked, and the portions generous. Our family of four ate so well for just a few bucks each time, which is rare to find in Waikīkī. The atmosphere is energetic but welcoming, and watching the udon being made right in front of you adds to the fun experience. The staff keeps things moving efficiently while still being friendly and helpful. If you’re visiting Waikīkī, don’t miss this spot. Great food, great value, and an authentic experience that we’ll definitely come back for on our next trip!
Josef E — Google review
Don't be discouraged by the line out the door! It moves very quickly. We were incredibly impressed by this restaurant. We had planned to come here while booking our trip and it did not disappoint. The noodles were perfectly tender and fresh, the broth was umami and rich. Tempura was fresh, hot and crispy! We will probably be back before our trip is over.
Breanne C — Google review
We were greeted by Max so sweetly and knowledgeable. We swapped out rice on #21 for Udon (made on the spot)and it was the best decision ever. The line was efficiently fast. The plate did not disappoint. We will be returning again before we leave bc the authentic plate won't be found anywhere else. Right in the heart of Waikiki.
Colleen Z — Google review
I didn't expect that the Japanese food is delicious like this. I ate the Nekutama as main and lobster as a side dish. With salads also. They way they do the eggs is unique, you can feel and taste the egg. The way they serve is very fast, grap your tray, tell the order, they will fill it in less than a minute, then you pick some salads, fried food like sea food, chicken etc. Pay and eat. Also it is very affordable price compared to other restaurants.
Karam S — Google review
We had such a great experience here! The food is incredibly fresh and flavourful — the noodles especially were amazing. Everything tasted authentic and well-prepared.I also really appreciated the smart layout and traffic flow inside the restaurant, it made the whole dining experience smooth. Please don’t be afraid of the wait line outdoors, it goes quick. We had dinner here two nights in a row because it was just that good. Highly recommend! Photos attached.

Diner
Liliha Bakery, a beloved establishment since 1950, is renowned for its delectable breakfast offerings and comforting dishes. The bakery prides itself on using locally sourced ingredients and crafting all their baked goods from scratch. With its original location on Honolulu's N. Kuakini St., the bakery has expanded to two additional locations due to its immense popularity.
Great Authentic Hawaiian food! Lots of options! Good service! We were a family of 20, and we were treated like family. Will definitely come back!
Benedict M — Google review
Stay away from this place unless you truly have no other options but it is not worth your money ‼️ We were seated by a very nice waiter who took our order, and that was it! We couldn’t find him afterward, and if you try asking any other waiter for help, they won’t respond because they’re “not assigned” to your area. Imagine this: I needed a fork and knife. I saw some near the kitchen and noticed a waiter standing right next to them. I politely asked if he could hand them to me, and he said, “No, I can’t. You need to ask your waiter for that.” I waited another 5 minutes, but our waiter still didn’t show up. Eventually, I went and grabbed them myself from the other side. Our order was sitting right in front of us (we were seated near the kitchen) for at least 10 minutes before anyone brought it over only after I pointed it out to the waiter! The burger was tiny, and the service was horrible. On top of that, I ordered my steak well-done, but because the restaurant was busy, they served it medium-well instead. That was a Monday, I can’t imagine how the weekend would look like. Never going back again‼️
Charly A — Google review
Stopped in to pick up a few sweet treats and loved them! They have a fantastic array of baked goods, from your standard donuts and muffins to croissants and danishes. However, some unique options I recommend trying are the mochi donuts and my personal favorite, the coco puff. It’s a puffed pastry with cold chocolate cream in the middle and your choice of topping ex coconut, green tea, etc. While I didn’t take advantage of the diner side, there is a counter where you can sit and eat a regular meal. There’s plenty of parking outside as well.
Isabel Y — Google review
Fantastic staffing and amazing food in terms of quality and price! They have a funny table back in the bakery kitchen that is so clean and very fun to experience. All of this made us come here twice during our 4-day trip!
Omid K — Google review
This is the original location that started it all. ATMOSPHERE: Parking is pretty plentiful. It's a simple and bustling bakery along with a long dining counter which seats about 20 or so. There was a line of about 10 people ahead of us. Turn over was pretty quick as we sat in about 20 minutes. Reservations are not taken. You get an up front seat of the food being made. MENU: It's a mix of local and American diner fare, and of course the bakery with all kinds of things. FOOD: Butter Rolls House rolls these days are a rarity! Sinfully buttery and moist, the included sweet dipping sauce isn't necessary. Hamburger Steak While it's a very mainstream dish, the highlight was the taste of the homemade patty. It had a nice crust to it and had a great grilled flavor. The gravy was light brown and mildly salty. The mac salad was very good. The entrees normally come with sides of a butter roll and rice, or you can opt for all rice which I did. Luckily my friend did not eat all of her butter roll so I got to try some and it was delish! Hotcake The single piece was big, delicious and creamy. SERVICE: The ladies who work behind the counter all multi-task - cook/serve/bus/cashier and all were so friendly, patient, professional, and helped each other out. OVERALL: Good food, average prices, friendly service.
Maui T — Google review
Great bakery and diner, got the loco moco, and the macnut waffle, both were really delicious. The loco moco had that Smokey taste from the grill, and the macnut waffle was light and crispy, the butter that came with it was very flavorful. Also ordered some pastries. Service was good, the place gives you an old diner.
I’m G — Google review
Amazing food, great service and bakery had so much great stuff ! Have you come back!
Jasper C — Google review
I love this bakery! Lots of parking, service was a promt, this place can get busy, they have overflow tables in the kitchen! So you can actually see all the desserts being made! Pretty cool! Ambiance is slightly on the noisy side but still able to hold conversation! I've been here several times and the food is nothing short of amazing! Ordered: Butter rolls - 10/10 perfectly grilled nice and crispy! So good I crave it. MacNut Waffles with fruit - 10/10 perfectly cooked, nice and crispy has a nice bite! No need for syrup cause the macadamia sweetens it naturally! Fruit and whip cream were a nice added touch ! Steak and eggs 10/10 cooked to perfection! I opted to upgrade from regular rice to fried rice; fried rice was great! Cheese burger deluxe 10/10 so satisfying the patty was cooked ourfectoy and had a nice char to it, It was so good I didn't take a picture! Buns were nice and toasted well, their potato crisps are nice circle potatoe with a nice width very different but paired well with the burger! Perfectly seasoned too! Loco moco with egg 10/10 the gravy was bomb, about of rice was great! Nice char burger meat, perfectly seasoned ! Perfect plate, and would definitely order again! Coffee - 10/10 free refills, great bold coffee! Desserts: Cream puff, coco puff, matcha puff - 10/10 they are known for it! It's perfect and not as sweet as other places! All desserts are made in house, which I appreciate it! Quality food and desserts! Highly recommend this place!

Japanese restaurant
Musubi Cafe IYASUME is a popular food joint in Honolulu, Hawaii, known for its delicious selection of musubi and rice balls. Despite the simple ingredients like grilled spam, rice, and nori, the flavors are surprisingly delightful. The cafe offers over 30 varieties of musubi and rice balls with fun combinations such as Avocado Bacon Egg Spam Musubi and Eel Egg Spam Musubi.
One of our favorite stops in Waikiki! I highly recommend the black pepper cheese musubi. It was so fresh and perfect each time! Great to take with you down to the beach. Wait times varied from 5-20 min each time that we went. My order was messed up once but they were super quick to fix the mistake for me. Also great prices, highly recommend!
Tiahna P — Google review
They had nice musubi and it was very fresh. They had a lot of different flavours available . The line was long, but it moved quickly. They are cheap as well. I like the spam and egg one with bacon.
Melzy P — Google review
Wide variety of musubi and other Japanese dishes here like udon and bento. It's a small store with fast service and cute musubi merchandise. The double bacon with egg musubi, double shrimp musubi were good.
Suwida — Google review
Musubi Cafe Iyasume never disappoints! There are several Musubi Cafe locations, but I always come to this one because the quality is consistently top notch. The spam musubi is ofc a must, but my personal favorite is the salmon mayo onigiri!
Noel L — Google review
Going early in the morning is definitely the way to go! We tried both the musubi and the onigiri here. I really wanted to love this place because it’s known for its musubi, but unfortunately, it was nothing special. The spam-to-rice ratio was 1:3, which made it really dry. The filling in the onigiri was very dry, and again, the rice ratio was way too high. I would suggest trying the musubi for yourself, but I recommend skipping the onigiri. I did manage to pick up the original sauce, which was a nice bonus, but I won’t be returning for any of the food again.
Annie — Google review
This take out shop is so Cute it’s so much like Japan. It’s also very conveniently located in Waikiki for all the tourists so I can see why it’s popular. From the decor, to their merchandise, and most importantly their spamasubis everything has that detail that makes it authentic and just adorable with packaging. It just reminds me so much of Japan. They have all various kinds of spamasubis but I loved the shisosubi and also the cucumber egg. Their menu also features curry and various bentos. A worthy mention are also their various Onigiri selection which are just as good but I understand when in Hawaii people want to try the spamsubi. It’s priced great for what it is and there maybe a wait time because it’s very popular. Tip: go to the other location just 3 blocks over. There’s a small to go window just 15 min walking. Yes there are 2 locations … Overall great shop authentic and not just catered to tourists but it’s just delicious and fast.
Jean D — Google review
The store was in the neighborhood where I was staying. Yesterday I saw a huge line but today there were only a few people. So I hopped in and ordered a Musubi pack and a Teriyaki Spam Musubi. They make things to order so it took about 10 minutes to have my number called. They have a system to show and tell which order is complete, much like the deli counter in a grocery store. The food was just under $10 and was the perfect amount for lunch. Try to go off peak and I think your tummy will thank you.
Albert N — Google review
You cannot skip this little gem. I ordered the Black Pepper, Egg & Spam (absolutely delicious), Double Tuna & Spicy Shrimp. They’re rather cheap in price but delicious. The lady who took my order was really sweet and very helpful

Steak Shack is a basic food stand located near the beach, offering affordable steak and chicken plates with rice and organic greens. Situated on Waikiki Beach, it attracts both locals and tourists due to its budget-friendly yet delicious offerings. The kiosk provides a smaller menu but ensures quality products, making it an ideal spot for enjoying tasty yet inexpensive food after a day at the beach.
Food and service is great. For cheap price, you get so much food. There isn't much of a dining area so I recommend taking your food either back to your room or finding a picnic table nearby.
Jin Y — Google review
Every time we're in Hawaii, we have to make sure to stop and get our fix of the Steak Shack. Who knew you could get such a tasty steak meal right on the beach. Although the price goes up each time we visit every year or so, it's worth it, so we'll keep returning. Try it out, and your belly will be happy!
J M — Google review
I was able to order right away at 1PM on a Friday. I ordered the signature 6 oz steak plate. I will say prices have gone up. My food was $17.95. I found a table around the corner in the shade and waited until my name was called. Steak came with a sauce container, slightly spicy, sweet, and tangy. Steak was tender and perfectly medium rare. Salad was fresh. Rice was generous but slightly hard like it didn't have enough time to steam. The view was excellent.
Albert N — Google review
One of the best steaks ever. Tender and peppery with a choice of ranch or Italian sauce. Mixed greens and rice included. Eat it while watching the sunset along Fort DeRussy beach. Fireworks every Friday at 7:45pm. $16 for the 6 oz., then about a dollar per added ounce of meat. Long line for order during meal time, then takes around 15-20 minutes to wait for your order. Really worth the wait and the price. A cordoned seals resting area is just in front of the place for an added attraction, and the seals swim with the people!😃
Richard G — Google review
The steak was amazing, excellent flavor and great tender steak cooked mid rare. Customer service could use some major improvement, not friendly at all! Limited seating but an excellent take-out place as well.
Travis B — Google review
Bad experience - after a 30+ min wait we got a bad deal. Maybe got the b squad working today. This was just a rip off. We got back to hotel and this was the portion for the chicken. Unacceptable. The other pictures show this is not what others have received. We are not happy.
Emma G — Google review
Wasn’t anything special, if it wernt for the sunset I don’t think it would have such popularity. Steak was over cooked - they ask how you want it cook, not sure why they ask because it’s definitely well done anyway.
Francesca — Google review
Great little place on beach. Also very reasonably priced for Waikiki. That is a relief. Very much worth finding. Also no seating ,so to speak. Definitely a take out place.

Restaurant
Helena's Hawaiian Food is a beloved restaurant in Honolulu, serving up traditional Hawaiian dishes since 1946. The casual setting and simple menu allow the focus to be on the delicious food, including kalua pork, lomi salmon, pipikaula (quick ribs), and squid luau. This family-run gem has received accolades such as the James Beard Americas Classics award in 2000 for its authentic regional cuisine.
The food here is arguably one of the best spots you’ll eat at. The hustle and bustle of the restaurant is fun, but we were in a rush and din’t want to wait for a spot. We opted to just eat in our car. All the meats were delicious and every time we come we get the Poi to see if it agrees with us better this time. Each time we fail to find enjoyment in it, but try try again!
Frank B — Google review
Helena's is hands down one of our absolute favorite spots every time we visit Hawaii! The food is consistently amazing--comforting, flavorful, and worth every bite. We were so happy to see their recent expansion, and it makes the experience even better. The staff here are always so lovely and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in. This place has become a tradition for us, and we can't imagine a trip to Hawaii without stopping by.

Excellent! Went for lunch on a Friday, it was busy but there were some seats. Parking was somewhat difficult but doable if you are able to walk 1-2 blocks. We ordered one of the menu’s that included short rib, the salmon salad, pork, side of rice + the coconut finale. We also included a fried fish that was recommended. Everything came out of the kitchen rather fast. First, the salmon salad: we liked it, but we think it was normal, we are no experts in that dish. Next, short rib: excellent. Tasty, great color, goes very good with the rice. Fried fish: juicy, cooked to perfection. Pork: tasty, also goes very well with the rice. To end lunch, we tried the coconut (“jello”). It was good, just not used to eat it with onion. Price was super reasonable as it was a good amount of food. Definitely recommend if you want a Hawaiian experience!

Helena's came highly recommended during our visit to Hawai'i, and we finally had the opportunity to check them out. Upon arrival, we were able to order immediately. While there was seating available, we opted to order our food to go. We ordered the long rice chicken, a small order of Pipikaula-style short ribs, macaroni salad, and fried butter fish. It didn't take long to receive our food. For the prices, the portion sizes seemed a bit small. When we finally ate, we felt that the food didn't meet our expectations. The short ribs were a bit tough, the butter fish was excessively salty but the vinegar helped balance it out, and the macaroni salad was probably our favorite, but not the best one we had in Hawai'i. After trying Waiahole Poi Factory's chicken long rice, which was incredibly flavorful, we felt this one was lacking in taste. Overall, Helena's was okay, but it didn't quite live up to the hype!

Helena’s has been on my food wishlist for years and I finally made it on this trip for a late lunch. I can’t stop thinking about how delicious it was - easily my favourite meal I’ve ever had in Hawai’i. Enjoyed the Laulau (tender, rich, and flavourful), the butterfish collar (so fresh, light, and crispy) and poi (love how it balanced the richness of the Laulau). They brought out a plate with raw sliced onion and a lovely coconut dessert plus a small side of local salt - pro tip I learned the midway through the meal: dip the onion into the salt and eat with the food and it’s the most amazing flavour enhancer (nice salt and acidity)! Hours later my onion breath lingers land i’m trying to figure out if I can come back before my flight tomorrow to try the dry aged beef ribs. This restaurant and the staff deserve all the praise it gets. I’ll be dreaming of this meal until I can return again.

Food was ok but not worth the price. We ordered 5 Large orders of Short Ribs, 3 Large orders of Fried Ahi, & 3 Haupia that was suppose to feed 20 people for $200 (see pics). Maybe we assumed too much? Its up to you to decide.

We went for an early lunch on a Wednesday because we had read that it could get crowded. On the way, our Lyft driver gave us tips on what to order and how to eat it (don't eat everything separately - get a little bit of multiple things in each bite), which made the experience even more fun. We ordered Lomi Salmon, Short Ribs Pipikaula Style, Luau Squid, Kalua Pig & Cabbage and it came with haupia (a coconut dessert). Everything was delicious, but the ribs (oooh, the ribs!) are magical! I still think about them and it has been 7 months since we were there. If I ever have the chance to go back to Hawaii, I will definitely go back.

If you’re in Honolulu looking for the best authentic Hawaiian food then Helena’s is where you want to be! We tried every other “top” restaurant and Helena’s was the absolute best of all- we returned on our second to last day to eat there again. The only problem is it was so good I’m going to be craving Helena’s and we like in Oklahoma!! 10/10 recommend- do NOT miss out! Side note- I have to eat Gluten free and almost everything on their menu was naturally GF.

Ono Seafood is a popular no-frills eatery known for its variety of ahi poke and laid-back atmosphere. The owner, Judy Samuka, is renowned for making some of the best poke on the island. The menu offers classic local favorites with made-to-order poke featuring buttery soft ahi and tender tako flavored with various options like shoyu, miso, sea salt, or wasabi.
Nice Poke place! We had the tuna poke. They serve you the food right away. We really liked it! Super fresh and excellent seasoning Highly recommend!

Just another POSITIVE REVIEW! Definitely come through for some fresh poke! Only downside is small parking lot & small seating area! But you should just take it to go and take it to the beach !! My boyfriend and I got spicy salmon and Hawaiian style ahi! 10/10 !
Ariel S — Google review
I ordered the Shoyu Tuna and Spicy Salmon combo poke, it is fresh and tasty. There's not a lot of sitting area, they have 2 benches by the parking lot. It's best for take out and enjoy at the beach.

Tiny mom and pop locals shop serving fresh ahi poke. Amazing quality fish. Not a ton of outdoor seating and no indoor seating (order only), also basically zero parking
Justin D — Google review
Really enjoyed my poke here! Tasted super fresh and was very filling!! They had fresh salmon so I got a combo of half salmon half tuna ut was GOOD. I came around 2pm on a Tuesday and luckily there was no line and I was able to grab a seat on the dining tables outside :) wish there was a bit more space outside, But I do get the appeal of a mainly takeout spot

Parking may be tough and there’s not many spots to see. Just keep that in mind if you’re coming here. The line to order moves quick! As for the food, I thought the poke was okay. Not my favorite in the area but I wanted to try since it was pretty popular. I got half half (spicy salmon and I forgot the other one it was ahi tuna)
Nancy N — Google review
The fish is fresh and flavorful with nice gummy texture, but unfortunately the white rice is the weak link here. Doesn't taste like sushi rice, and the texture is kind of dry like the jasmine rice I make at home. Does not pair as well as possibly can with the fish. Tight plaza with a few parking spots, and only a couple tables outside. Turnover is pretty quick though.
Minh V — Google review
This was our first poke stop on Hawaii trip and we had selected this spot based on the high rating that this spot enjoys on Google. We had the Spicy Ahi and the Shoyu Ahi. The Spicy Ahi was unfortunately bland and lacked any spice. On the other hand, the Shoyu Ahi was flavorful and had a kick to it. The quantity was pretty good for the two of us. Seating is limited and is outdoors. Overall, not bad but maybe we should have skipped the Spicy Ahi.

Nico's Pier 38 is a popular waterfront dining spot that offers a relaxed atmosphere while serving top-notch seafood dishes with a blend of French and Hawaiian influences. The open-air setting provides breathtaking views of the harbor, creating a special dining experience. The menu highlights local flavors and ingredients, with the furikake ahi being particularly renowned. As Honolulu's premier fish restaurant, Nico's sources its fresh fish directly from the local fleet and emphasizes locally grown produce.
Had an amazing dining experience at Nico’s Pier 38! The food was absolutely delicious—especially the beef, which was incredibly tender and full of flavor. You can really taste the quality and care put into each dish. The drinks were on point too, refreshing and well-crafted. What really took it over the top was the scenery. Watching the sunset over the harbor while enjoying a great meal made the whole experience feel extra special. Whether you’re looking for a solid dinner spot or a chill place to unwind with good vibes and good views, Nico’s is definitely worth the visit.

We went there on Wednesday about 1120a. Gravel lot parking and also staggered parking stalls around. I thought this was going to be a service type of dining. This is a fancier fast food eating/dining. Only walk-in...or looks like take out, lol. There's a table with menus for food and cocktails. You order food at front desk, pay and they give you those vibrating gadgets... don't be dumb like me and give a tip because you service yourself. You find a table if you want to stay. If you want cocktails, you go to the bar and order. When gadget vibrates, go to food counter and get your plate lunch. Atmosphere is actually nice... there's also live music. I got a sweet okole cocktail...a little strong. There's free water at the food counter Fountain drink machine. I had the crab burger...not bad but i think it's can crab. My friend had the furikake mahi... she liked it. We also had the side order garlic pesto shrimp... tasty, but they used small shrimp. The fish market is adjoining, so you can buy and eat that there too. It's not bad and i would eat here again
Mary A — Google review
Good was good but I was hoping for a little more taste in the burger that was featured on diners, drive-ins and dives. It’s got a good view and I don’t really bother you if you stay for a while, which is great. I did not appreciate that The soda was not free refill. A little odd that you have to order lunch at the front, but they had table side service for dinner. As with most fish sandwiches, they often need more sauce to balance out the low-fat content of the fish. Ask for extra sauce if you’re ordering a fish sandwich.
James G — Google review
Recommended by a friend. Not bad but not great, parking can be a challenge if there for dinner and you may need to park farther away. Indoor/outdoor seating and beautiful views of the water with live music as well. The menu as a variety of offerings with lots of fresh seafood selection. A varied dessert section as well. I enjoyed my time but probably not a repeat experience

Great experience overall at Nico’s! The fresh fish was amazing and service matched. We had a party of ten and all were very pleased. I had the Miso Black Cod & my wife had the Pier 38 Double Fish Burger w/ salad and house lemon miso dressing. The Ahi appetizer was top notch!
Travis B — Google review
I really enjoyed the variety of food from fish to Italian to burgers to salad and soups. Dessert menu is well with a looksie! I bought carrot cake for home and my friend got the brownie for her birthday. 🎂 The waiter was attentive, kind, and helpful. Live instrumental music was a great touch and added to the ambience. Walked around the pier after dinner. I highly recommend this place for an enjoyable evening dinner +entertainment. A nice place to dress up or just be casual. Fisherman's chowder in a bread bowl was delish and got a side of veggies- carrots and green beans. Yummy! It was the perfect amount of food for me. Friend wanted seafood/fish and that's what she got-swordfish, mashed potatoes and same veggies.

Came here for dinner. Service was a little slow. But maybe because they were so busy. we ordered the calamari and truffle fries and they were very good. I had the crabcake salad. Crabcakes were just okay. But the salad and dressing were delicious. The poke nachos were very good. The place was a little loud because they had live entertainment.
Imee C — Google review

Maguro Spot is an affordable, delicious seafood restaurant located in Honolulu. They specialize in poke bowls, and some people say that their poke bowls are the best they've ever had. You can choose from a variety of different toppings for your bowl, or you can create your own by choosing your preferred size, rice, sauce, and topping.
It's fresh poke bowls and it tasted great! There were some preset items so I got the E bowl in large which was the All Hawaiian. I asked for brown rice instead of white. The fish was very fresh! The seasoning was subtle but let the fish flavors shine through. However I think I could have used a little bit more of it, as well as more veggies. Still, a very satisfying meal.
Albert N — Google review
Heard about this restaurant through a local, who had told us that Maguro Spot had the best poke in town. Indeed, they were correct! We had the mixed fish ( tuna, salmon, and shrimp) in our poke bowl and this was THE FRESHEST fish I have ever had. You can tell they pick the best ingredients. The rest of the poke was equally delicious, but the taste of the fish was what stayed with me! I cannot recommend this poke spot enough! However, when we arrived around 8 pm, the line was wrapping around the block!! As a result, I would recommend giving yourself and your party plenty of time for dinner, since the wait was about 30 minutes! The line does move fast ( the staff is rather speedy and efficient) but there were still so many people! There is also seating in the back of the restaurant since it's rather small and there aren't any seats or tables inside!

After a hike to Diamond Head I was starving and saw a long line for this place, so naturally I was like it must be good. I've NEVER had poke but I always wanted to try it. Menu had a great selection and easy enough to navigate for a newbie. I ordered salmon, white rice, green onion. garlic, cucumber with teriyaki sauce. Service was fast and Cody the cashier was friendly. I wanted to love this bowl but 4/5 for me. Everything was fresh and the serving size was great. Maybe I'm just not a poke girl, but I want to be. I would still recommend and would be willing to try again on my next holiday to Hawaii.
Jelica G — Google review
This was the best poke I’ve ever had. The mix of flavors was perfectly balanced, with great toppings and delicious, authentic sauces: the Hawaiian sauce was my absolute favorite. There are a few outdoor seats, and everything is done quickly: you walk in, build your bowl, and you’re ready to go. Prices are reasonable, especially considering the quality. The only thing that could be improved would be adding a bit more space and providing some indoor seating. I remember one day there was a storm, and we had to wait for it to pass before we could sit and eat. Nonetheless, highly recommended!
Chiara R — Google review
I love how you can customize your poke bowl here. I also love how fresh the fish tastes and the portions are pretty decent for the price. If I spend $20 here I get a decent portion of fish with various toppings for dinner. If I spend $12 here I get a local afternoon snack. You get what I'm saying?? Anyways love their salmon! I hope they make it so you can accumulate points LOL cuz I come too often.
Kiwi T — Google review
Maguro Spot may be the best poke I have ever had. The blue marlin was extremely fresh. You can build your own bowl or order from five menu items. Other items are available too. Several sauces are gluten-free. The service is very fast. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. It is a great hole in the wall right by Waikiki Beach!
Ryan F — Google review
We had a very disappointing experience concerning the pokes we ordered. Both of us got the mixed seafood, and it was not fresh. On top of that, the cut-up fish wasn't processed too well, and each cube still had hard strings(?) that made the chewing unpleasant. We ended up throwing our pokes away. Definitely had a lot more selection on the toppings compared to other places though. Wish it was fresh and processed better :/ The dining area is right by the road so it's not clean either.
Sue K — Google review
This place is extremely popular for its Poke Bowls especially during lunch and dinner hours. A long line forms outside the place. Though order taking is pretty swift and the line moves fast. There is a shared seating space with another smaller restaurant. The menu is large and provides a good variety to choose from. They have both meat based as well as vegetarian poke bowls. Street parking is extremely difficult to find around the area, so would recommend taking public transport or ride share options to get here. Also this place is very close to the Waikiki center and is easily walkable, hence a nice spot for a meal close by to the center.

Topped Waikiki 2.0 is a restaurant that offers traditional Korean dishes in a relaxed setting with a street-facing brick patio. Originally starting as a food stall at King's Village farmer's market, the chef now serves up satisfying Korean-inspired dishes at this location, many of which are priced under $15. The menu includes options like the spicy pork mayo bowl and the world-famous Kalbi Steak and eggs, marinated for 72 hours.
Like another reviewer, I wish I had stumbled upon this place at the beginning of my trip. Terrific value with a good balance of Korean flavor and solid portion sizes. The spicy pork (pictured) is my favorite with a side of kimchi or spicy radish. I appreciated that the food wasn't overly sweetened like so many of the other Asian food options in Waikiki. Bonus for the nice gentleman working by himself at 8 pm, managing the register and cooking quickly. I'm coming back in the last few days of my trip.

The most unique, creative and deliciously infused shaved ice combos! It’s the real deal — light, melt in your mouth ice, creamy ice cream, and fruity flavors. Their POG was a burst of tropical paradise in every bite. Refreshing and packed with flavor – bliss in a cup!

Got the Hawaiian POG and it was delicious. The combinations of the flavors are so creatively and uniquely matched. We got a sample of the Road to Hana which was surprisingly really tasty. Must try shave ice in a place where not all shave ice is created equal.

First time having shave ice ever & the owner was so kind and knowledgeable. The lady working at the register wasn’t very present for the customers, clearly on FaceTime but the owner was standing there and made our order before the woman even acknowledged us. We got the Hawaiian POG which was SO GOOD! He also informed us that a lot of places don’t actually shave their ice, but we watched as he hand shaved it. Would love to come back !

Duke's Waikiki is a popular beachfront restaurant with a tiki vibe and lively atmosphere, located facing Waikiki's famous Canoes surf break. Named after Duke Kahanamoku, the father of modern surfing, the casual spot offers a variety of appetizers, a large salad bar, and crowd-pleasing entrees such as fish and prime rib. The venue also features memorabilia honoring Duke Kahanamoku and serves the famous Hula Pie dessert.
Had one of our favorite meals of our trip here! I had the vegan wild mushroom & spinach ravioli and my fiancé had the teriyaki sirloin. Beyond delicious for both dishes, mine was flavorful with the macadamia nut pesto and my fiancé said his steak was one of the best he’s ever had. We were seated immediately despite the busy Sunday dinner rush, and our server was super kind and quick to bring us our drinks & check in on us multiple times. Our server was also very knowledgeable on vegan food and recommended a couple places for me to try, and even knew to let me know while the desert they had was technically vegan, but it did contain honey. He talked to us about life on O’ahu and Kauai and was such an amazing server and truly made our last night such a treat. Highly recommend trying this place

Nicest place. On the beach. Great lights and live music. Took 20 minutes to the waiter to reach me for order but other then that was very nice and welcoming. I had the “prime rib staek” which was definitely corn fed and tasted like cheapest steak I have ever eaten. Look at the color in the picture it was curiously red🤨 French fries was cool but not really throughly made. Mashed potatoes was perfect and freshly made.

Tasty food, but very corporate feeling. You could literally taste the corporate in every bite. IYKYK. The calimari was phenomenal, though. They definitely don't make it like that on the mainland. They're not the little rings we're used to. They were big, meaty morsels. Main entrees were underwhelming. Again, see "corporate" comments above. I'm blanking on our server's name, which is extremely unfortunate, because she was top notch. I really, really wanted to give her a shout-out here, but then vacation happened and I'm just getting around to leaving reviews now that I'm home. Brittany, maybe? I hope so, because she deserves the recognition. Beautiful ocean views, but again, the whole place feels a bit corporate for my liking. The buffet looked ok, but pretty skippable, so we opted to order off the menu instead. The hula pie was simple but delicious. If you like ice cream cake, it's 100% going to be your jam.

What an incredible dining experience! Glad we had made reservations...although we were told it wasn't super busy. Got our tables after getting a drink in the bar. Our server Mario was exceptional. Started out with the poke tacos. Wife ordered rhe prime rib and I got the filet. The prime rib was enormous and it was a small cut! Cooked to perfection. My filet was the perfect size and also prepared expertly. Added a visit to the all you can eat salad bar and was not disappointed. Would definitely recommend for a great meal. And if you get Mario for a server you will be in for a treat.

Duke’s is everything you’d want in a Hawaiian dining experience! We first went for lunch and loved it so much, we came back a few days later for dinner. The Hawaiian-style casual vibe, paired with a fresh selection of fish and steak, made every meal memorable. We were seated right by the beach, and hearing the waves while enjoying dinner truly added to the island feel. The outdoor atmosphere was absolutely perfect: relaxed, breezy, and so scenic. And let’s talk about dessert… their Hula Pie is a bomb! Sweet, creamy, and the perfect way to end a beachside meal. 🌴🍽️🌊 If you’re looking for island favorites with an unbeatable view and delicious food, Duke’s is a must-visit!

Was so excited to visit my first Don Q store, and I was kind of disappointed. The store looked in disarray, very disorganized, and a mess everywhere - especially the makeup section. Yes, there was so much stuff here and great kawaii things and produce, etc. But overall, it's just like a cheaper version of a Mitsuwa, in my opinion. Still was cool to visit. Oh, parking is crazy! There's never parking here. We had to park in the additional parking garage and walk over.

This place has so much stuff! From the hot and prepared foods, to a full grocery store, to Japanese and Korean skin care, and all of the other items you might expect an everything store to carry. It also isn’t as crowded or cramped as the ones in Tokyo. It was a nice experience shopping here, and it took me a couple of hours to look around, without being able to buy a lot. They have a lot of Japanese snacks and drinks as well. I look forward to going back here in my next trip.

The atmosphere is relaxed, making it the perfect place to unwind while enjoying stunning views of Waikiki Beach.
Easily and by far the best restaurant in Waikiki without question. We came for dinner and my Carne Asada Fries were absolutely incredible, my kiddo and wife had the chicken quesadilla and my other kiddo had the nachos...all amazingly delicious. We then had breakfast this moring and the Bacon, Egg and Cheese Sando was spectacular and my wife's Guacamole Toast, also spectacular. I wish we found this place earlier as I would literally eat here every day. We haven't even touched on the atmosphere and views from the window seats...this place IS an 11 out of 10! Oahu Mexican Grill is hands down a great spot in Waikiki. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted by a chill, laid-back island vibe that makes you want to slow down and enjoy life. It’s the perfect mix of beach-casual and local charm; you can show up straight from the sand and feel right at home. The food is fresh and full of flavor. Every bite tastes like it was made with care; the ingredients are high quality, and you can really taste it. The tacos and burritos are packed, not skimpy, and the salsas have that perfect kick without overpowering the dish. It’s clear they take pride in serving food that’s not only delicious but consistently well-made. Whether you’re grabbing a quick lunch or just chilling with friends and watching the sunset, Oahu Mexican Grill hits the spot every time. Great food, friendly service, and an easygoing atmosphere exactly what you want in a Waikiki eatery. 🌮🌴

Stopped in here on a whim looking for a good breakfast spot and we were pleasantly surprised. We got seated immediately. Super fast and friendly staff. Pancakes were amazing. Boring breakfast was great too! Great view of the beach! Don’t hesitate to get fueled up for the day here! We were super glad we stopped in!

OMG - Literally. What a surprise. Delicious food, great environment, and a very welcoming crew. I had the braised beef now. It was just perfect. The only downside: not many options for those who don't eat spicy.
Cris M — Google review
A popular brekkie place down the street is always jammed, so we gave this grill a go. It was a good choice. We were seated immediately, and ordered at the counter. My wife got the Cowboy Huevos Rancheros and I got the breakfast tacos with carne asada. The portions are very substantial - we didn't need to eat lunch. The coffee was good and plentiful. Best of all are the house-made salsas. We lived in Texas for a while, and these salsas are as good as anything we had in Texas.

Ice cream shop
Dessert shop
Waiola Shave Ice is a popular local spot in Honolulu known for its counter-serve shave ice and ice cream. The quaint grocery store offers a variety of shave ice flavors, including classic options and new creations. One must-try is the Azuki Bowl, featuring shave ice topped with azuki beans, condensed milk, and mochi balls. This small snack shop off the side of the road exudes a definite local vibe and is frequented by both locals and visitors alike.
While looking for a construction job-site, I found this shaved ice cream place. It is a small building, but the shaved ice is some of the best I’ve ever had. I’ve had Matsumoto, but upon trying this one, it has become my favorite. If you are a local, or a visitor, you must try this place, you won’t be disappointed.
Fernando P — Google review
Waiola Shave Ice is a classic spot with super smooth, finely shaved ice and tons of fun flavor options. It’s a great treat on a hot day and definitely a must-try in Honolulu! That said, the syrups can be really sweet — I’d recommend asking for “less syrup” or “less sweet” if you’re not into super sugary desserts. Still delicious, just a bit intense if you’re watching your sugar intake.
Sardor A — Google review
The reviews aren’t exaggerating; when they say it’s soft, they mean SOFT! The ice literally melts the second it hits your tongue. The only downside is you have to enjoy it quickly on a hot day, or it’ll melt into a slushy puddle. The syrup was evenly spread, with no bland ice spots. Very delicious, and there are plenty of benches outside for seating!
Daisy L — Google review
I have already tried the Waiola Shave Ice in Kaimuki, and today I am trying out this one in McCully. I got the Waiola Rainbow Jumbo and it was great. The workers are very friendly and helpful and this place is busy with so many people coming by regularly. This is a great spot.
Sang M — Google review
Came here after watching the Mark Weins Honolulu food tour video and it did not disappoint. Got condensed milk on some fruit flavors as well as the azumi bowl and both were very refreshing with well balanced flavors. There is also a small store selling their merchandise.
Thomas Y — Google review
When you think of Hawaii, shave ice comes to mind! You can enjoy it at many spots, but so far this place is the best. The ice is incredibly fluffy, and the azuki beans, condensed milk, and mochi are all amazing! Definitely a must-try. Although it’s “kakigori” brought from Japan, the shop is run by a family from Taiwan.
Takeyuki N — Google review
Best shaved ice in honolulu!!! My friend and i walked there and it was the best getting a refreshing, not too sweet, azuki shaved ice to share! Also got their merch- a cute hat hehe :)
Carolina N — Google review
Waiola Shave Ice – 5 stars This spot is a true Hawaiian classic—and now I understand why it’s won so many awards! Waiola Shave Ice is the perfect pick-me-up, especially on a hot day. I went with the rainbow combo and added ice cream underneath… game changer. I didn’t know I needed that combo in my life, but now I’m obsessed. I first saw this place recommended all over TikTok, and I’ll admit—I was a little skeptical. But my followers didn’t steer me wrong. The line was steady, the flavors were endless, and the vibe felt just right. There’s plenty of outdoor seating, making it a great stop to cool off with friends or just soak in the sunshine with something sweet. If I lived nearby, I’d be here daily. So glad I made the stop while in town—this won’t be my last visit!

Deli
Sandwich shop
Pai's Deli, situated within the Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort, is a charming spot known for its freshly prepared sandwiches, smoothies, and salads. While the sandwiches may be slightly pricier than pre-packaged options, the taste justifies the extra cost. Made-to-order sandwiches are available with one filling for $7.75, two fillings for $8.75, or three fillings for $9.75.
If you’re looking for the best sandwich on the island, Pai Deli is the place to go! Their turkey avocado croissant is beyond amazing as well as their egg salad - honestly the freshest sandwich I’ve ever had. The croissants are flaky and buttery, the vegetables are crisp, and everything is brought in fresh daily. The care they put into their food is unmatched. This family-owned gem is filled with aloha spirit. Ivy, Andrew, and Auntie Shelly are some of the kindest people you’ll ever meet. We’ve been coming here for years, and they always go out of their way to greet us warmly and even remember our orders. It’s like being part of their ohana. In addition to their incredible sandwiches, they also serve fresh salads and delicious smoothies—all at super reasonable prices. If you stop by (and you definitely should), make sure to say hi and leave a tip to show your appreciation for their hard work and the Hawaiian passion they bring to every bite. Pai Deli is a true Oahu treasure! Highly recommend. 🌴

This is a great, low cost, quick and delicious option for lunch from right in the Outrigger Beach Resort. It's located just outside of the pool area making it quite convenient for a quick, affordable lunch. The sandwiches were good but our favorites were the Super Energy and the PB&J Powerhouse shakes.

Hidden gem right off the beach across from Duke’s! The sandwiches here are fresh, loaded with crisp veggies, and stacked on the softest bread. Perfect beach bite: light, flavorful, and super satisfying. We got chips, the honey lemon iced tea, and they give you a slice of pineapple on the side which makes it feel like the full local experience. Friendly staff, quick service, and the perfect spot to grab a fresh meal before heading back to the sand.
Daniel E — Google review
Awesome service & food. I was looking for something wholesome and delicious and Pai’s gets top marks. The Turkey & Avocado sandwich was stacked with filling & fresh crunchy veg. And the kale orange pineapple banana smoothie was clean and refreshing. Make sure to go inside the Outrigger Resort Mall area (like you’re going to Duke’s). Pai’s is tucked in a corner adjacent to Duke’s. Google directed us down an alley leading to the beach, but you’ll have better success if you enter from the road.

Wow. I did not want to eat here. I thought it would be typical overpriced hotel food that tasted terrible. Boy was I wrong. I got a tuna salad on a croissant with cheese hub got the chicken and egg salad on wheat plus a can of soda. It cost $25.65. They made the food fresh to order, the sandwiches were huge. I will definitely be back here everyday until we leave. There are so many other things to try. The salads and fruits looked great as well. Super friendly staff. Fast meal

Your out in Waikiki, hungry and want something that isnt the typical fried fare. Then find this hidden gem. This is not you typical sandwich stop. All of the sandwiches are a meal. The chicken honey mustard sandwich is loaded with roasted chicken (not sliced), fresh spinach, bean sprouts, cucumbers, and carrot shavings. Amazing flavor and a price that doesn't require a second mortgage. Very friendly staff.

Restaurant
Penny's Waikiki Malasadas is a popular spot in Hawaii, known for its Portuguese-style malasadas. These yeasted eggy donuts have a crispy exterior and come without a hole. They are typically coated with sugar and can be filled with various flavors such as haupia, liliko, guava, pineapple, macadamia, vanilla or chocolate custard.
This shop is tucked away in a food court, so it flies under the radar in the morning - we passed by packed coffee shops on the way here and were surprised to find no lines. We got the coconut, adzuki, and ube creams. They came out super fresh and hot, and really delicious. The filling gets a bit runny so have napkins but it's so worth it! The coffee was also surprisingly good - get the vanilla mac. Probably one of the most affordable things in Waikiki, without sacrificing quality. The food court has plenty of seating and is open air so it was a pretty nice place to sit and enjoy. Service was also really great - we had a good conversation with the guy running the counter. Definitely give it a try
Ashley L — Google review
Delicious and freshly made malasadas and conveniently located in the Royal Hawaiian food court! No matter if you order plain or any cream or jelly filled flavor… you will not be disappointed!!!
Llewellyn C — Google review
YUM! Made several visits to Penny’s during our trip to Waikiki. Penny’s makes every donut to order so it takes a bit longer but totally worth the wait. Take them to go as the food court in Royal Hawaiian Center is not the best spot to enjoy these sweet treats. The ube malasada is fun for its purple hue but not the most flavorful. Again, YUM!
Kristin A — Google review
OK, so I’ve tried all of the Malasadas and I’ve been to this place twice because it’s been amazing! The original custard the custard and Nutella is absolutely amazing. That’s the only two I would highly recommend if you had to choose. It would definitely go with the custard filled as my favorite one! And you’ll thank me later!
Customer S — Google review
Located at the food court. Malasadas were made fresh, we liked especially the Ube filled ones. Smallest portion you can get is three
Michi K — Google review
The malasadas here were absolutely delicious! Super warm and light and flavorful, and the open air dining is great! Loved the quick service and reasonable pricing!
Emma B — Google review
Delicious! They were made to order, so they came out super fresh and hot. The dough was a pleasant surprise — lighter and more delicate than the heavy, thick-filled donuts I’m used to. Honestly, this should be the standard. The fillings were just okay. I misread the Nutella cream and was expecting actual Nutella. I definitely would have preferred that over the flavor they used though.
Julie P — Google review
I didn't expect much for a food court place. But these Malasadas were amazing. They came out hot and fresh. The custards were amazing I especially liked the ube. They make fresh jam every day. The person who helped me was kind and helpful. I only regret nit getting all the flavors.

Palace Saimin is a beloved eatery located in the Kalihi Palama neighborhood of Honolulu, specializing in Hawaiian-style Japanese noodle dishes. The restaurant has a rich history, dating back to 1946 when it was founded by Mrs. Ige, an Okinawan immigrant. Known for its traditional approach, Palace Saimin takes pride in crafting its original-recipe pork and dried shrimp broth and hand-wrapping wontons.
Must get the saimin!! The noodles have a great chew to it, and the broth is clean and savory. And must get the bbq sticks!! Service is great and everyone is super friendly!
Rebekah L — Google review
I ordered the wonton udon extra large for $11.25 with a barbeque stick for $4 and I was so full after barely finishing. The soup was so good to the last drop and the udon was so chewy and tasty. The barbeque stick was a real solid beef steak with a very nice terry sauce, just perfect. The price is really cheap and the service very friendly. This is definitely a gem even after 79 years.

AMAZING. Simply put you come here NOW and you EAT the food please! Best food I've had all week. The tap water is very clean and really really good. We all ordered Wonton Min (Sm $8.75) and here's one of the bowls Wonton Min (Lrg $9.75) I ate.
Utah C — Google review
Found this place last minute when I was around the area. I'm so glad I did! Hole in the wall, local gem, mom and pop shop. The food was so delicious! I got the Wongton min, that one comes with noodles. The wonton soup just comes with wonton only FYI. I also got a bbq beef stick. The day I went, it was really hot, humid I was craving for something cool but stumbled on this place cuz I was craving noodles. The broth was so good and really just soothed my soul. Everything was amazing and I wish I got the larger bowl. The follow day I took my friend and she said this was the best wonton soup she had in a very long time (since her mom passed). We both really enjoyed this place and recommend, will be going again next time we visit Oahu! This place is small and parking is limited but ppl don't stay long. The ppl who work are really nice and this place is always busy so be patient if they don't sit you right away, even if a table is open. They got you, they know what they are going if they have been in business for 79 years! 😬
Somang C — Google review
Absolutely delicious. The saimin, the wonton min and the saidon were all good. The saidon is saimin with saimin noodles and udon noodles mixed together. The barbecue sticks are very good as well. Some things to note: no AC, so, if you need AC, you may be uncomfortable. Also, I think they soup stock includes dried fish or other dried seafood. The smell is very strong, so some who dislike that may want to avoid the place. We all loved it.
Ben P — Google review
This humble noodle shop is my most frequented restaurant on the island. The quality is consistently excellent, and the food is truly affordable. Their service is prompt and thorough. I can be in and out in 30 mins with a full belly! Though their noodles are the main attraction, don't miss out on the BBQ sticks; those are to die for.
Cameron — Google review
A friend brought me here as their spouse loves them. ATMOSPHERE: The parking lot fits about 6 cars and smells like urine. The "restaurant" reminds me of eating in an old Hawaii home's wash house, complete with the lack of decor, mess, and smooth cement floors. The place seats about 12 comfortably, so we did have about a 20 minute wait. There is no climate control, the kitchen is right next to the dining area, and the breeze blows the heat and smoke from the grill into the dining room and out the front door. Yes it was hot and yes we came out smelling like we barbecued our own food. FOOD: Won Tun Saimin I got the large size which is comparable to other places. The noodles were slightly overdone, there were about 5 or 6 won tun with pork filling, slices of char siu, and green onions. The clear broth tastes exactly like Zippy's saimin to me, which is a good thing, but it wasn't searing hot, just kind of hot, which was disappointing. Pricing was very good for the portion. Barbeque Stick A single skewer with marinated teriyaki meat. I'm not a fan of teriyaki meat but this was really good. Very tasty (sweet & salty) and tender. SERVICE: It's first come, first served. If the inside is full, wait outside until a spot opens up then go right on in. There's a simple menu on the side walls and they come to you to place the order. Our male server was patient and friendly. This is a mom & pop kind of place so don't expect full-restaurant service. When you're done, the window left of the kitchen door handles payment (cash only, I believe.) OVERALL: Good food, great prices, but the parking sucks as well as the comfort while eating there.
Maui T — Google review
Very simple menu posted on the wall and the servers were very friendly and attentive. Saimin was good, the broth was light and matched well with the noodles and the slices of char siu. Was surprised by the bbq skewers they were really good, would recommend them with a bowl of noodles. Will definitely be coming back. Just an FYI no AC so it can get a bit warm inside.

We got the chow fun with choysum, fried donuts and beef and tendon look fun in soup. The soup dish was good, comforting but leaning towards too salty for us. The chow fun was lacking smokiness, overpowered by the sauce. Texture of noodle was amazing tho. The donuts were great too. Service was quick. We sat next to a larger group and had to share condiments which was a little awkward.
Monica M — Google review
Lam’s Kitchen – A Traditional Chinese Noodle Shop in the Heart of Honolulu’s Chinatown Lam’s Kitchen is a small, old-fashioned noodle shop nestled in the bustling Chinatown district of Honolulu. The place seats only about 30 people, so even though we came during a regular lunch hour, my family and I had to wait around 20 minutes to get a table. I ordered the fish noodle soup – the broth was clear and light, with a clean, subtle flavor. The fish was not fried but cooked directly in the soup, making the meat firm, fresh, and pleasantly mild. It’s a good choice for those who enjoy traditional, light flavors. My husband and child had the stir-fried beef rice noodles – a more memorable dish. The wide, chewy noodles were stir-fried hot with tender slices of beef, and the dish carried a distinct smoky aroma from the wok – adding a layer of depth and authenticity. Lam’s Kitchen may not offer groundbreaking cuisine, but it delivers an honest, traditional Chinese dining experience. If you have time while visiting Chinatown, it’s worth trying at least once.

Still as yummy as before, service was as authentic as I would expect lol first time trying their wonton noodles. Solid. Wonton got shrimp in it too! Love the sassy attitude of my server haha I asked to make sure wonton has shrimp in it coz I've seen many places just putting pork and call it a day (ugh) she's like "wonton is not wonton if there's no shrimp in it." That's what I'm talking about, Aunty.

Service was A+. Very hard working staff. However, food was average, sauce was too watery and without any memorable flavor. Sorry I have no yearn to return here.

They are known for their wok hei (breath of the wok) , but you really come here for fresh made look fun (steam rice noodle roll) . Most popular dish is their soup braised tendon/brisket, wonton, look fun. Other popular dishes are boiled liver with ginger onion, and jook (rice porridge). If you decide to get noodles instead of look fun , get the rice noodle on the side and try it with seaseme sauce / hot sauce. If you get jook, don’t forget to get a side of fried donut . Around lunch time you there most likely will be a wait.
Hi A — Google review
Loved everything we ordered. Beef noodle was the best I have had in US. There were whole shrimps in the wonton. Rice plate was tasty too. Ginger chicken was a little underwhelming compared to other dishes.
Zhu Z — Google review
Hands down the best hole in the wall, yet not whole in wall Chinese joint ever! We always order the Beef Flank and Tendon egg noodle and hubby orders the look fun, and we add wontons! It's Heaven in a bowl! The tendon is nice and tender while the beef practically melts in your mouth...and the wontons, the wontons with a blend of chewy ground pork and pieces of shrimp round out the deliciousness of the wontons! If you get the jook, make sure to order early because they run out! We lucked out today and they still had it. And the Chinese donut....oh they make it fresh to order so it comes out piping hot and crispy! We didn't order it this time but their look fun roll is full of carbs but...but it's worth every calorie, try it, trust me. You'll be fat, but a happy fatty! I highly recommend this place, it's good and it hits the spot!

I always order mobile so that no need to wait at least 10+ minutes. My order was ready in 5 minutes this time and it was kept in the lock box. We went to this location on Tuesday 7/29/2025 when they had the Tsunami scare. We live on the Waianae coast & had just spent 2 1/2 hours in traffic just to get to our toddler at daycare. We didnt make it in time to go home before the first wave was predicted to hit, it was too late to try to get to our pups in Waianae, so we decided we needed to stop somewhere to eat, far outside the tsunami zone. We don't have much family here, so we really didnt have anywhere else to go. As we ate, we sat there distracted, speaking of everything we would lose. Worried, anxious, sad, etc., Our waitress was very kind & friendly. My daughter kept asking about the token machine & when we were done eating, she brought her a token. She didnt have to but she did and that was super sweet of her. I wish I remembered her name. It was a small act of kindness, but it meant a lot & we really appreciated it. We had the spaghetti and meat sauce with garlic bread & it was delicious. My husband ordered the Korean Fried chicken and it was delicious as well. The desserts were delicious as well. This was our first time at this location and we definitely appreciate & enjoyed it. Definitely recommend going here. Great service.

Usually stay away from Zippys as prices have gone up and portions have gone down but finally decided to go down here on Wednesday night as late night choices are very limited here😥 and this was 830pm at night.... Had to use my $5 coupon so decided on a Zip Pac Deluxe for $18....but came out a little over $15 when using the coupon so wasnt bad. Had a couple eating their food in the dine in area self serve and other than that it was just me waiting for food. Only took 5 minutes for my food so that was a positive. Food was the typical zippys... Though the chicken got smaller and the teri beef looked rather slim and tiny too. Im glad the Las Vegas Zippys is doing well since I feel post covid that this local food chain is failing.... 4 stars.

Horrible experience. My partner and I had a poke bowl there yesterday at noon, and we’ve been suffering ever since—non-stop vomiting, diarrhea, completely stuck in the bathroom for 24 hours. They claim their fish is ‘fresh, caught daily,’ but given this food poisoning nightmare, I seriously doubt it. On top of that, the service was terrible. Never again!

Went to try the Loco Moco. It was ok. I was expecting more since it was rated #1 in Honolulu Magazine. It was filling. Great gravy but not enough. Came back for the boneless chicken. Delicious, great portions. Hot the spot

We got the mahi sandwich and the loco moco bowl. The fish sandwich was really good, but I found the loco moco to be a little lacking. I want to try again at the main location rather than this mall location.

Decent place to get a decent meal. Burgers do not come with sides unless you order them. A side order of fries costs almost $5. This might be a Rainbow Drive-In thing, but seems to be common in Hawaii.

I ordered the pork cutlet. Worker’s on the kitchen dont wear hair covers/net because when they served my order it has hair on it. They didn’t even bother to apologize properly and just grabbed my food and “redo” the order again. It was BLAND and the breading was just awful. The macaroni tasted sour. My food and experience was just straight up bad. -1/10

Stopped by here after Rehab to pick up lunch for the husband. He likes the hamburger steak plate here with gravy all over and their fries. I normally would never miss to pick up my favorite slushie here but i had too much to carry today ☹️ but i love their strawberry slushie and sometimes i will get it with vanilla ice cream. Yum!! 😍 A MUST try! Im not a fan of the burgers because i don’t care for the bun. Its too thick & fluffy for me - i will insert a pic from previous time i got takeout from here. Shoyu chicken is worth a try. Menu is small compared to the Kapahulu location i always went to but still good. Friendly employees too which is always a plus. Will update more here in future reviews 👍

Yeah went here out of nostalgia. It doesn’t live up to it at all. I had the loco moco and it was terrible. The burgers were thin and dry and tasteless like frozen burgers. The eggs were super undercooked even for sunny side up eggs and had shells in it. My partner had the boneless chicken, which tasted spoiled. We threw it away. Thirty dollars wasted. Go Yummy’s instead. I Probably won’t try the original Rainbows either after this.

Maybe the versions not in the mall are a little better. Food wasn't bad just not as good as I thought it would be. We all got a variety. Chicken sandwich was pretty great and fresh. I have the Loco moco which was alright. For sure edible, I finished it. Low quality burger patty but still not bad. We had a burger also not bad. Tots and fries pretty great. Basic. Mac salad was way too much mayo but I hear thats how it's supposed to be which I understand. Honestly BEST thing was that slushy float. YUM! Anyhow overall not a bad stop but would try to go to one not in the mall.

Ordered hamburger steak plate today and could have been a.great meal bcause its one of my fave.but to my dismay the food has no taste at all. Should have put a little dash of salt if not on the patty at least on the gravy.

The Cheesecake Factory is a popular American chain restaurant known for its extensive menu and generous portions. Visitors can enjoy a variety of dishes, but the highlight is their signature cheesecakes, with flavors like Caramel Turtle standing out. The restaurant's popularity extends beyond the United States, with Australians being particularly drawn to it due to its mention in popular culture. While not considered expensive, it's important to budget for additional costs such as tax and tips.
The service and atmosphere are top notch! The food was delicious, especially the cheesecakes. Appetisers and mains aren’t the most nicely presented but are very tasty. Strongly recommend making a reservation prior, we tried to do a walk-in first but the wait time was an hour and a half so we made a reservation for the following evening.

This was my very first visit to The Cheesecake Factory, and it couldn’t have been more memorable — all thanks to our incredible server, JJ. From the moment we were seated, JJ made us feel genuinely welcomed and valued. Even though we could see she was managing several tables, she never once made us feel rushed or overlooked. Her ability to connect with her guests and provide attentive, personalized service is truly exceptional. JJ went above and beyond to ensure our experience was special. She took the time to chat with us, made thoughtful recommendations, and somehow made us feel like we were her only table. I did order the meal she recommended, and she was spot on. Such quality food here The highlight of the night was when she surprised us with a complimentary dessert after learning we were celebrating our honeymoon — such a thoughtful and heartfelt gesture that made our evening unforgettable. JJ exemplifies what outstanding customer service looks like. Her professionalism, warmth, and genuine care turned a simple dinner into a beautiful memory. She seemed like such a down to earth girl. Because of her, The Waikiki Cheesecake Factory has gained some lifelong fans!! Thank you, JJ, for making our special night even more meaningful! Also S/O to the host stand. That line was wrapped around the building with impatient people waiting to get in. It honestly looked like straight chaos but the host stand just cranked em in and out like a well oiled machine. Good job!! Only waited like 15 minutes before being sat. :) great place

Went to cheesecake factory during happy hour, which is available at the bar only. We were on high seats and had great cocktails and got the cheesecake factory nachos for a bargain price. The portions are large and the drinks are tasty. The happy hour menu is decent in size and has a number of cocktails and also deft beers available. It is worth going early for. Otherwise, we visited on another occasion where we had to wait up to 30minutes for a table in the restaurant. The food still delicious and the service also very good. Cheesecake we are always too full for at the restaurant, and always get it to take away and eat later. Can never finish a whole slice and good the next day too storing in the fridge.

Always a great experience. Meals are delicious and generous. Staff are accommodating and friendly. Prices are decent. It’s a must stop and experience when in Waikīkī. The complimentary bread and butter is so good to start with. I recommend the Parmesan herb crusted chicken with mash potato’s and green beans. Big meal, great quality and taste and real mash potato’s ! Good bar with all the selections of beers, red wines, spirits. Cheesecake a huge selection with a taste for everyone.

Loved the food so much we came back a second time!! Service from Jackie was a stand out too. Best pina colada ever. Favourite dishes were the katsu chicken salad and the crispy chicken and shrimp with pineapple and rice. Def only need one serving of cheesecake between 3-4 people. Delicious but very rich.

What an outstanding server Iverson is! He was polite, offer suggestions on food and dessert, he arrived quickly with our drinks and bread. My husband and I also observed his amazing hospitality with the table next to us. He engaged with the young children at their eye level as the children told them what they would like to drink. Awesome job, Iverson! Meanwhile, our food was amazing and the presentation was outstanding. Iverson suggested my husband’s meal after realizing the original meal that was chosen was no longer available. And oh boy, it was so good!

Wings were small and the nachos were okay, but everything else was excellent. The Thai salad was fresh, the tacos were surprisingly delicious, and the service was great. I’ve eaten at Cheesecake Factory in different countries and it never disappoints. Each spot has its own menu so it’s very unique. It’s always a solid choice, especially for a quick grab-and-go by the beach.

If you've eaten at Cheesecake Factory then you know what to expect. Food and service were both good. Our server, Ariceli was great! Was disappointed to learn that they did away with the combination plates since our last visit. I recommend making a reservation as its almost always busy here and let's you bypass the long line to get on the wait list.

My husband and I had dinner at Tiki’s Grill & Bar last night and wow!!! From start to finish, it was such a great experience. The staff was very friendly, and we were lucky enough to get a table on the patio overlooking the beach and water—absolutely beautiful. Our server, Noah, was fantastic—so friendly, knowledgeable, and made wonderful suggestions based on our preferences. The live music added the perfect touch to the evening, and it was so, so good! We ordered the coconut shrimp & the special (filet mignon with shrimp), and everything was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend Tiki’s if you’re in Waikiki!

Nice open air resturant. We had pretty good seats and were able to see the lights on the water. We parked at the zoo. It was just a 10 minute walk. My wife had the coconut chicken and I had the glazed ribs. The ribs had a mild sweetness and the coconut chicken had a nice sweet coconut flavor, including the rice. My favorite was the curly fries. Thick cut potatoes. The pineapple dessert is the creme rules. Its a nice mixture with the pineapple. We also had the cocnut shrimp appetizer, fantastic, failed to get a pic though. We were hungry.🙂

Caught the end of happy hour. Tried the chicken gyoza and fries furikake. The fries stole the show. We had the prime rib which was just average. The venison gyoza was very good. Lastly we had the smoked marlin dip which was tasty. The beer and drinks were cold. Live music was playing and the view of the ocean was amazing. This meal was worth it just for the view.

Went for Happy Hour and some Pupus. Our server, Tom, was excellent greeting us as soon as we sat down and moving us to an ocean view table. Had a coconut mojito and a margarita to drink and the HH portions of the coconut shrimp and Kailua Pork Quesadilla. Good size and perfectly cooked and tasty. Finished up with the seared ahi tataki pupus which was tender and delicious. Then as a finale, we had the Pineapple Creme Brulee. Overall a great experience and good value at just a squeak over $100 for 2.

Eggs 'n Things - Waikiki Beach Eggspress is a laid-back eatery that offers classic breakfast and brunch options made with locally sourced ingredients. While it may not be the place for bottomless mimosas, it's perfect for enjoying fluffy pancakes and customizable eggs in a relaxed atmosphere.
Eggs ’n Things in Waikiki is a total vibe for breakfast with a view! Snagging a window seat feels like VIP access to Waikiki’s surf show—surfers gliding, waves crashing, and Diamond Head winking in the distance. It’s the kind of scenery that makes your coffee taste like a tropical vacation. The food? Eh, just okay—pancakes and omelets are solid but won’t blow your flip-flops off. Think comfort food, not culinary fireworks. Still, that oceanfront eye candy and chill aloha vibe make it worth a stop. I’d give it a playful 75/100—killer location, decent eats. Perfect for a laid-back morning after a Duke statue visit or a Mai Tai sunset!
Carol H — Google review
I heard a lot about Eggs ‘n Things so I had to give it a try! Upon arriving, I expected there would be a wait as we had gotten there around 8am. Overall wait was around 30ish minutes. Upon entering we were greeted and drinks were served pretty quickly. We then met our server and put our order in. I had gotten the Plantation Pork Chop which is pretty much a piece of Ham. It tasted nothing like a pork chop unfortunately. My girlfriend had gotten the Eggs Benedict which when eating, there were eggshells in it. I’m not sure why but I expected a bit more, of an experience, but it fell a bit short unfortunately.
Antonio H — Google review
Right across from Waikiki Beach, this compact, fast-paced branch of Eggs ’n Things captures the energy of the ocean just steps away. It’s the perfect pit stop before a beach morning or after a sunrise surf session. Service is quick but still friendly—think “grab-and-go” with a smile. The open-air vibe and ocean breeze make even a takeaway pancake plate feel like a small celebration. The strawberry whipped cream pancakes and the loco moco are crowd favorites for a reason: simple, generous, and consistently satisfying. Unlike the flagship, this spot focuses on speed and convenience, but it never loses the warmth that defines the brand. You can taste the consistency in every forkful—fluffy pancakes, perfectly cooked eggs, and bacon that hits just the right crunch. Don’t expect quiet or elegance—expect movement, laughter, and the hum of travelers grabbing breakfast before heading to the beach. And honestly, that’s what makes it special: a slice of Waikiki life, lived in flip-flops and sunshine.
GYOUZA D — Google review
Stopped by Eggs ‘n Things for breakfast, and it was a great experience from start to finish. The food came out hot and fresh — everything tasted just right. A big shout-out to Kent and Giselle, our table servers, friendly, professional, and made sure we were well taken care of the whole time. Excellent hospitality and great service all around. There was a short wait, but it moved quickly thanks to their iPad check-in system — just make sure you sign in on the iPad when you arrive so you’re in line to be seated. Definitely worth the stop if you’re in the area and want a hearty, satisfying breakfast! ☕🍳🥞

🌸5 on 5🌸 The breakfast here was absolutely delicious! My favorite part was the coconut syrup with the pancakes it added such a unique and tropical flavor. The scrambled eggs were very tasty too, with a subtle coconut undertone that made them even more enjoyable. I especially loved the French toast; it had a soft, cinnamon flavor that was just perfect. I highly recommend this place to tourists! If you can, try to grab a seat by the windows overlooking the beach it makes the whole experience even more special.🌺
Melissa B — Google review
30 minute wait, food was very good, views of the beach while we ate. They were busy, I didn't like the '1 free refill' on some drinks, so we had water as well. Too hot on the beach to not hydrate properly. I never did get a refill on the mango unsweet tea, but did get one for the water even though I asked the waitress which came by with the pitcher of water. The Moco Loco was very good, good sized portioning. This restaurant does have restrooms, unlike the McDonalds and the permanent food trucks like Blue Ocean, which told us to go to 'that hotel right there', which by the way used room key cards to access the lobby restrooms.

My child wanted pancakes, so we stopped by — and it was such a great choice. The pancakes, omelet, and coffee were all delicious, and the view of Waikiki Beach from our table was absolutely beautiful. It was the perfect place to enjoy our last morning in Hawaii. Mahalo!

Local breakfast spot on the main strip of Waikiki and beach front view. I recommend getting here early; I was sat within 5 minutes at 7 am, but the line outside quickly grew within 15-30 mins. The food was very delicious, homestyle breakfast. My family got the blueberry crepes and kids plate. The crepes were filled with blueberries and had tasty burnt ends, make sure to ask for the macadamia syrup. I got the furikake nut crusted ahi rare with rice and sunny side up eggs and it was very good. I plan om returning one more time on my vacation. Skip Cheeseburger In Paradise and come here!

Seafood restaurant
Giovanni's Shrimp Truck is a must-visit foodie destination on Oahu's North Shore. The graffiti-decorated pit stop offers a variety of shrimp plates and even a garlic hot dog option. One of the most popular menu items is the SCAMPI, known for its strong garlic flavor. While it may be touristy, Giovanni's lives up to the hype with its delicious offerings.
Even though we went after lunchtime, there were still a lot of people. At the entrance of the parking lot, an older man collected a $2 parking fee. After parking, we waited about 30 minutes before ordering. We tried their two most popular dishes: Garlic Shrimp and Butter Shrimp—both were delicious! Some visitors were even buying T-shirts and getting the owner’s signature on them. They accept credit cards, which was convenient. It started to rain lightly, but it wasn’t heavy, so we were fine eating outdoors. Even on a weekday, the area was busy with cars since it’s part of a historic district. Expect some traffic when visiting, but it’s definitely worth the stop!
Jay S — Google review
Food and service were amazing. I’m not usually a big food truck guy, but the scampi was fantastic with the rice and hot sauce. And speaking of that hot sauce—it’s hot! Definitely get it on the side. It’s spicy but also really flavorful. As for the atmosphere, you’re eating outside, so the roosters and pigeons will definitely want a little something too. We had to shoo them away from our plates. Portions were generous, flavors were spot on, and now I see why this food truck comes so highly recommended.

Phenomenal shrimp! We went on a tour the year before and got famous north shore garlic shrimp (from the rainbow house, forget the name). It was so fishy I couldn’t eat it and was turned off to the idea of north shore shrimp. This year, I took a suggestion and tried Giovanni’s. It was amazing. Fresh and flavorful. I went with classic garlic, next time I want to try the lemon pepper. They have the Mac salad everyone serves around there, it’s normally meh to me - but theirs actually had a lot of seasoning and flavors, not just mayo. It’s a bit of a wait but I think you can order ahead of time for pickup. When we went (off season) there was no seating so we had to piddle around a bit to wait for a table, and gave up and found a spot at another area. Highly recommend them!!

The line is long but moves super quick. Food comes out quick too. We got the shrimp scampi. The shrimp was cooked nicely and it was super garlicky (in a good way). Loved it! Better than some of the shrimp in the nice restaurants! There are other food trucks in the same area if not everyone wants shrimp or hot dog. There is shaded seating which is nice.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Giovanni’s Food Truck – Waimānalo, Hawaiʻi Giovanni’s did not disappoint! I ordered the shrimp scampi and it was absolutely delectable—perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and so satisfying. I had really been wanting to try the spicy shrimp too, but since I was sharing with my daughter, I asked if they could give me a small portion of the spicy sauce on the side. They were so kind and happy to do it, which I really appreciated! I also added a side of mac salad, and it was worth it. The portion was small, but for just $2 it was totally appropriate and hit the spot. Overall, great food and even better service. Highly recommend stopping by Giovanni’s if you’re in the area!
Monica T — Google review
Pros: had to try the first ever shrimp truck in the north shore est 1993! Surprisingly the famous garlic scampi shrimp was not my fave- it was their hot and spicy! I think the gerd inducing big wave shrimp truck is my favorite garlic butter version. but the spicy and tangy (would rate 🌶️ 🌶️🌶️) is definitely worth a try because the sauce is really unique. Prepare to wait a bit -think it's made to order- I waited about 30m. The parking attendant at the front was so nice- I didn't have cash and he let me park just to pick up our order (we didn't stay and eat and it was a slower time of day around 330 pm, otherwise I think he would have to turn me away). So bring cash! Cons: rice was super mushy! Maybe just a bad day with the rice cooker 😂
Anna C — Google review
A pretty easy pass. Very bland shrimp and rice with no seasoning besides the butter and garlic. Mac salad was alright. Not sure why no one's heard of salt. The line is crazy, parking is crazy, the vibe is sitting in a parking lot surrounded by chickens eating trash. There's just better food on the island, particularly in food trucks. Check out Kahuku or anywhere else. Nice to check off the list if that's what you're after, but generally not worth going if you're looking for actual good food.
Blake R — Google review
Very hyped up spot from social media and was very good but there are some things that don’t make it a 5 in my opinion. First you have to pay $2 for parking but that’s even if there are spots available, there is free parking nearby so not really the end of the world but something to know. We ordered 2 shrimp scampis and got hot sauce on the side which is what I’d recommend as you kinda get to taste both flavours at that point. The annoying part was the long wait as well and having to always scout for an open table as all the tables are occupied. The flys are also somewhat of a problem when waiting they can get pretty bad but the shrimp itself is amazing. Just some things to be aware of but overall still a good experience!

Chocolate haupia cream pie - 3.5 stars Chocolate layer tasted like cup chocolate pudding. Bit sweet. Strawberry guava cream pie - 3.5 stars Too much cream for me. Guava flavour not very strong. Pecan sticky bun - 3.5 stars Bit hard on the outside but soft on the inside and not too sweet. Could've been warmed up a bit more.

We went here twice. We had a better experience with service the first time as we got our food fast and the service was great. The second time we came in it was very busy and our food (2 items) took over a half hour to get. I honestly think they forgot our order or made a mistake because the people who ordered after us got their food first. Hoping it was a one off experience. The food was good both times. We got the breakfast croissant sandwich with ham and a BLT. Wished the BLT was on a regular bread like sourdough as opposed to a bun, but it was still good. I also got the chocolate pie (from the refrigerated section inside). The pie was my favorite!

North shore household name. It’s a bakery but they feature lunch menu. They’ve got various local cakes with lilikoi etc but I found the carrot cake just great. Moist and dense in each bite. Probably shouldn’t have ordered the cake pre meal as it is quite filling. The garlic shrimp was delicious, it’s cooked with white wine and lots of garlic so it’s their version of garlic shrimp but elevated imo. The kalbi ribs (beef short ribs) were just overtly sauced and we just found it inedible because of how sweet and how much sauce it had. Perhaps it’s more local style but it was just TOO much sauce. All in all must stop if you’re in the area

We tried six different flavors of pie and also had the Mahi Sandwich with fries. The overall review from our group of 10 was a lack of flavor. The Mahi wasn’t seasoned and very bland, and was also three thin layers. The pie except the chocolate were so mild it was almost hard to taste the individual flavors.

Really cool local joint! I’d personally stick to their baked goods and sweets as those were downright tasty. Was a little underwhelmed by the fried rice that came with my corned beef and eggs. Desperately needed some sauce and seasoning and some more time in the wok. The breakfast sandwich could benefit from a condiment as well! The banana pancakes were perfect and we are going back for additional sweets we didn’t get to try. Super friendly service as well!

Worst service of our vacation, 50+ minute wait, and unacceptable food hygiene. $110.39 down the drain. We came on the recommendation of a friend. Ordered via QR code and their website. Order estimate was 25 minutes, seemed excessive for 3 orders of shrimp and 3 burgers but okay. I received email receipt so they had my contact info. After 28 minutes I went in to check on my order as my kids were hungry. They had part of my BIL's order ready but not mine. Lady#1 confirmed that I would receive a notification when my food was ready. After 45 minutes I went back in and waited to the side for a break in customers so I could ask about my order. Lady#2 asked if I was ready to buy. I started explaining that I was just checking on my food. Lady#2 and Lady#1 both started yelling simultaneously. Lady#2 was yelling at me to get out of the store and stop wasting their space and to not come back until I was notified, while Lady#1 was yelling at me that my food should already have been done. After they finished yelling at me they conferred with each other and decided to check for my food. My order was sitting on the back counter. I asked about the 3 slices of pie, they didn't have any of the flavors recommended to me. I asked about the 6 waters I ordered. Lady#1 told me I hadn't ordered water. They were not on the pick list she showed me, but they were clearly on my receipt. She finally gave me 6 water cups. I then asked about the 6 orders of utensils and she told me to get them from an empty box on one of the counters. After she refilled them I finally had my 6 orders, 6 waters, and 6 utensils 50+ minutes after ordering and made my way outside. Before I could finish my first shrimp my son whined that he asked for garlic fries. They messed up two orders of garlic fries and put in regular. Sent my daughter back in with the two boxes to get garlic fries. Thinking that if they treated me that badly they probably won't help her I decided to tag along behind just to make sure. Sure enough the worker wasn't believing that my daughter was supposed to have garlic fries and was insisting on a receipt. When I backed my daughter up the employee went to fix the fries. Their solution was to pour garlic butter sauce on the half with fries (remember the burgers are also still in the boxes) and then close the lids and shake them up. I do enjoy some butter/garlic on my burgers, but not on the outside of my kid’s burger. Then the worker didn't want to hand them to my daughter and was looking around for an adult. I had to specifically tell them to hand the food back to my daughter. Eating my 4th overcooked shrimp and look down to see the thickest line of poop running down the back of the shrimp I'm eating. I even cleaned the seasoning off just to make sure. I guess deveined means something different here than it does to me. Towards end of the meal my daughter asks why I ordered her burger without pickles, I didn't. They removed pickles from 2 of the 3 burgers even though I left them all as regular pickles. As we were walking away and I'm profusely apologizing to my family, one of my BILs said his crab sandwich was the second best thing he'd had so far of the trip, once he removed the onions from it, which he'd ordered without. We placed 3 orders, three different customers, contact info, and payment cards, all ordered within a few minutes of each other. All given an estimate of 25 min. Not one of us received a single notification that our food was ready. All waited 50+ minutes for food. Only got food because we went in and asked and they were all just sitting on the counters. Every order had mistakes made. The seating areas are shaded and breezy and they do have bathrooms, both of which I appreciated. But it was still very much a 1-star experience.

Their diverse selection of over a dozen omelets features unique combinations such as shrimp alfredo, spam and cheese, chili and beans, and eggplant parmesan.
This place lives up to the hype--especially if you're here for the macadamia nut pancakes. They're soft, fluffy, and drenched in that signature creamy mac nut sauce that's rich without being overly sweet. Definitely a must-try. We also had the loco moco and omelet, both hearty and flavorful. The portions are generous, and everything came out hot and well-cooked. It's comfort food done right, perfect after a beach morning or a chill island day. The space is casual and laid-back, with fast, friendly service. Expect a bit of a wait during peak times, but the food's worth it.

Fun sporty atmosphere with football helmets, baseball signs, wheeties boxes on the walls. A sign posted out front stating they will take your order outside, pay inside at the booth, get your table, then they bring out your food. I ordered the seafood special omelet with hash browns. Inside the omelet was crab, shrimp, onions, mushrooms and cheese. 1 word, SCRUMPTIOUS! My husband ordered the Kahlua pork eggs Benedict with fried rice. His egg yolks were not soft, but that was the ONLY drawback. He thoroughly enjoyed his also. We both got water and he got root beer. Total was $54 & change. Not sure what Guy Fieri ordered here but we're glad we ordered what we did. There was a wait to get in, but the wait did not take more than 15 minutes, and well worth it!!!

🥞 The macadamia nut pancakes were very nice definitely worth the hype I liked the sauce and the nut pieces 🍳 the omelette was not that great. 🥩 I did like their kalbi ribs though. Portions are very big Interesting decor

Went for breakfast and came out full and well satisfied. Food is super tasty. I would recommend getting a short stack of pancakes (plain , banana or with nuts, I went with banana ) and order the special Mac nut sauce to go on it. Also try the beef kalbi. Be prepared with your order before you enter the restaurant . You place your order at the door and then go to you table.

Pretty disappointed in this... we had a table of 6; 2 grandparents, 2 parents, and 2 children. They charged gratuity without saying anything and it does not show up at the checkout. If your paying by card it automatically prompts you for percentage gratuity to add. So I had no idea that we were already charged gratuity. I know prices are out of control here but this seemed very deceptive. So, BE WARNED, if you have a group of 6 or more, gratuity is already included! Otherwise, the pancakes were 8 out of 10, have had better here, but they were still good. The portions are modest for the price ($19 for 2 eggs over easy hashbrowns and 4 slices of spam about 1/3 a can). The service is not that great, they acted put out by asking for creamer for $4 coffees and do not expect someone to refill it because it's very unlikely to happen. There is a sign that asks for grace as they are short staffed, but the sign was the shiny permanent type glued to the wall. I don't know how they could be short staffed with making 40% gratuity. Be warned!

The food was good. The banana pancakes were absolutely amazing. However, there is absolutely no reason they should be $22 for just two cakes. I experienced the amazing cakes, but will never pay that price for them again. My breakfast cost me $42 for an omelet and the cakes.

It’s a good experience and lots of interesting food choices but I’m not sure it’s worth the 30+ minute wait

8/2025 Over the years they've moved to a slightly bigger place. I really give them credit for the way they move customers and the long lines through quickly. My utmost compliments as every restaurant should take notes. Oh, and the food? Broke da mouth! Onolicious! 😉🤙✌️

Heavenly Island Lifestyle is a cozy cafe in Waikiki that offers Hawaiian fare made with fresh, local, and organic ingredients. The menu features healthy options like Hawaiian Pho Noodles and Energy smoothies. The wood-paneled venue at the Shoreliner Hotel provides indoor and outdoor seating for enjoying breakfast items such as acai bowls, French toast, and Eggs Benedict. Their loco moco is a healthier version made with 10-grain rice and organic veggies.
This review is long overdue because the food here is absolutely heavenly—every single dish is made to perfection and full of incredible flavor. I went with my mom and we shared everything so we could try a bit of everything. We started with a Brewed Iced Coffee and also tried Heavenly’s Smoothies Energy, an acai, strawberry, blueberry, and banana blend with soy milk—everything was really good. For the main course, we had the Manoa Honey French Toast made with locally baked sweet bread, organic vanilla, whipped cream, and topped with fresh strawberries, blueberries, and bananas. It was out of this world—perfectly fluffy, sweet, and so fresh. We also ordered the Pho Noodle, a local-style pho with chicken, house-made chicken and beef bone broth, cilantro, and all the classic toppings—spicy ground chili sauce, hoisin, jalapeño, and lime. On the side, we had Portuguese Sausage, which added the perfect savory touch. To finish, we shared the Hawaiian Ginger Crème Brûlée, a local egg custard flavored with Big Island ginger and topped with sugar caramel. It was creamy, smooth, and absolutely delicious. Everything from start to finish was amazing. Even the attention to detail with cleanliness and kitchen/sanitization made us feel comfortable and well taken care of. The customer service was also excellent—super friendly and attentive. Honestly, the food is so good here that I just want to keep coming back again and again.

A very unique & lovely small restaurant with Japanese words and pictures on the menu. The server was very friendly and recommended the Egg Benedict, which was filled with shredded pork and was quite delicious. We also ordered the Loco moco, which was also great and was served with whole grain rice. I like the laid-back feel here !

This morning during our vacation we came here for breakfast. They have quite a good selection of standard breakfast options. Each of us tried something different, and I can say the breakfasts were pretty tasty. I had French toast with Hawaiian fruits — the fruits were fresh and delicious, and the toast was good as well. The coffee was okay, but I can’t really say I liked the matcha. It was very hot, not prepared correctly, and the amount of matcha powder was off, which made it quite bitter. The service was pleasant, and there are comfortable outdoor seating areas. Overall, this is a place you could definitely return to for breakfast or maybe lunch. The only thing I’d wish for is better quality in the drinks, like coffee and matcha. In general, a positive impression🥰

A true island gem — amazing food and atmosphere! We had such a great experience at Heavenly Island Lifestyle! The food was absolutely delicious — especially the steak and eggs, which were cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. The steak was tender and juicy, and the eggs were just right — a perfect start to the day! The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, with a great island vibe and friendly staff who made us feel right at home. Everything felt fresh, local, and full of aloha. We left full, happy, and already planning our next visit. Highly recommend Heavenly Island Lifestyle to anyone looking for great food and genuine Hawaiian hospitality! 🌺🥩🍳 PS They offer free parking across the street, they will validate your ticket.

Super tasty eggs Benedict with very generous pieces of salmon. The kale salad was very good and there wasn’t too much sauce; the ube fries were original and crunchy! Very filling, perfect for breakfast before adventuring on the island! Also we were staying in the Waikiki Shoreline hotel and had a discount for this place. I recommend it!!

Great selection of food, juices and smoothies. Located along one of the main Waikiki streets, but with good ambience and great service. Visited few times during my stay in Honolulu. Great menu for breakfast and dinner, but also the happy hours lunch menu had few delicious meals. I’ve enjoyed the food and juices, some of their teas, but also had one of the best pina on the island. Worth visiting. Oh, and did I mention that for 2$ extra each, you can add as many eggs as you like to whatever you’ve ordered? For me that’s heaven.

Barefoot Beach Cafe @ Queen's Surf Beach is a pet-friendly outdoor restaurant located on the iconic coastline of Waikiki. It offers a variety of Hawaiian plates, American dishes, and Mexican cuisine. The cafe features live music and hosts a weekend beach BBQ. Visitors can enjoy their meals at picnic-style tables while taking in beautiful sunsets and nightly entertainment. Additionally, the cafe allows patrons to bring their own alcohol.
After scanning Yelp for breakfast spots, we found Barefoot Beach Cafe in Waikiki, and this place absolutely deserves its Yelp status as a top-ranking spot! Located on the south side of Waikiki at the Queen’s Beach, right next to the zoo, it’s got an incredible beachside view that feels like a Caribbean getaway. The blue water, gentle breeze, and relaxed atmosphere make it pure magic. We arrived early, which was a good call since the line can get long, but tables turn over fairly quickly, so you’re not left waiting too long. The food is phenomenal. I ordered the fluffy buttery pancakes and their world-famous pineapple smoothie (they must sell hundreds daily—it’s that good, bursting with tropical flavor). My wife couldn’t stop raving about the eggs Benedict, with its perfectly poached eggs and rich, creamy hollandaise sauce. The food came out fast, which was a nice touch when we were eager to enjoy that stunning beach view. The staff and locals are super laid-back and friendly, adding to the relaxed vibe. It’s the kind of spot where you can linger, sip your smoothie, and soak in the scenery. If you’re in Waikiki looking for a breakfast spot with amazing food, unbeatable views, and island charm, Barefoot Beach Cafe is a must-visit. Pro tip: don’t skip that pineapple smoothie!

We were told that we had to go here. Well, they were right. Get the pineapple smoothie. Made in a fresh pineapple it was absolutely delicious. We also got a couple of other smoothies. They were also great. I ordered the Surfer's breakfast. A nice fried rice infused with Spam, Portuguese sausage, scallions with a fried egg on top. My wife enjoyed her Avocado toast spiked. We also had a breakfast burrito. All good. The views are amazing. Watch the birds, they'll steal your food!

This restaurant was so good. Eating while watching the beachfront made it the perfect spot to chill, relax, and just enjoy some amazing food. The view was gorgeous and the food looked just as good. I got the eggs benedict and an acai bowl and both were delicious, fresh, and hit just right. Honestly, the whole vibe is pure Hawaiian bliss. Great spot to hang out, take in the scenery, and enjoy a nice meal. Definitely worth checking out if you are in the area.

I visited this little restaurant by the ocean and absolutely loved it. The place is very cozy, with surprisingly moderate even low prices considering how high the food quality is. Everything we tried was incredibly delicious. I especially enjoyed the pineapple cocktail, which was amazing. There was live music with musicians playing real instruments, creating a warm and relaxing atmosphere. The place is beautifully decorated with string lights, so it’s wonderful to sit by the water in the evening, listen to the sound of the ocean, and enjoy traditional Hawaiian dishes. I really loved this spot. Definitely a recommendation, the price-to-quality ratio is perfect, and the prices are ideal.

What a pleasant evening by the beach to walk, eat, enjoy the music and watch the sunset. We would definitely come back! We got the poke bowl, surfers fried rice, surf & turf, royal loco moco and vegan loco moco. My only complaint is the fried rice was lacking flavor and not a soy sauce bottle or packet in sight. We added some shoyu sauce but it needed something more. It was really nice to have some music and a little performance too.
Marie — Google review
I can see why two of my local friends recommended this place. We went on a rainy Friday evening and it was delightful. There are seats under cover. It’s counter service and no alcohol is served because it’s a public park the night we were there. There was live music and locals doing hula which was just lovely. Public bathrooms nearby are adequate.

We had a delicious, fresh lunch at Barefoot Beach Cafe last week. Lots of choices on the menu! My avocado toast with an over-easy fried egg had fresh arugula, tomato and just enough feta to give the egg a nice bit of saltiness, and the presentation on the ceramic plate was bright and cheerful with a piece of fresh pineapple and a flower blossom. There was live music (very good, too!) while we were there for lunch, and the covered seating allowed us to see the ocean while enjoying the shade and cool breezes. A great stop for lunch!

Good was so good. The view was amazing. Fish of the day was swordfish. Watch your food because the birds are fat and aggressive. It was nice despite the chaos. Exempt all the homelessness collected here. Very dirty restrooms. Do not let your children go to the restrooms alone. Found people naked showering in the men's.

Sansei Seafood Restaurant & Sushi Bar is a vibrant and trendy dining spot that beautifully blends Japanese and Pacific Rim cuisine. Known for its creative sushi rolls, like the Panko Crusted Ahi Roll and the visually stunning Kapalua Butterfly Roll, this eatery offers an exciting culinary experience in a lively atmosphere. The Asian Shrimp Cake with Ginger Lime Butter is another highlight, featuring delicate shrimp encased in crispy noodles.
Sensei will ALWAYS be on our itinerary whenever we’re in Honolulu. We’ve been traveling to Honolulu for many years and have dined at many of the restaurants in Waikiki, without question Sansei is our favorite. Great ambiance, outstanding service (Beigh has been our favorite server) and the food is always incredible!! The Cajun Seared Walu Sashimi is the best Sashimi that we’ve had anywhere in the world. If you’re a fan of quality Sushi, Sensei won’t disappoint!! I would highly recommend making a reservation. Moderately priced, great value!!

We were really looking forward to fresh fish during our trip to Hawaii! We were disappointed overall, unfortunately the rolls lacked a bit in flavor and were poorly constructed (they fell apart) and were cut way too thick of slices. The restaurant was not busy but the service was just ok at best, which was a bit hard to understand as there were a lot of people working. The overall atmosphere of the restaurant seemed like it could have a cool vibe, we didn't experience it but my guess is things just weren't clicking when we were there.

Tried Sansei Seafood Restaurant & Sushi Bar for their 50% off early bird special (Sunday & Monday, 5:00pm-5:30pm). Includes everything except dishes with two asterisks. They charge an additional 4% for food service plus 20% automatic gratuity on the grand total. - Edamame ($4.00 USD) - standard fare - Crab ramen with truffle butter broth ($20.00 USD) - lacked depth, disappointing noodles - Nobu style miso butterfish ($22.00 USD) - tender, flakey and nicely roasted - Crispy fried calamari ($7.00 USD) - standard - Crispy brussel sprouts ($8.00 USD) - Negi hama roll ($6.00 USD) - California roll ($7.38 USD) - Scallop & cucumber roll ($7.50) - solid - Unagi roll ($7.50 USD) - standard - Tekka maki roll ($7.00 USD) - ahi was fresh - Ume shiso maki roll ($3.50 USD) - good - Cucumber & avocado roll ($4.75 USD) - Hamachi sashimi ($12.50 USD for 8) - Salmon sashimi ($21.75 USD for 16) - small but good quality - Shime saba ($9.38 USD for 8) - good but smaller slices than the salmon - Tamago sashimi ($2.94 USD)

make sure to get a reservation in advance for the holiday season! sansei is connected to DK steakhouse and both menus are available. they serve a variety of “americanized” japanese dishes, and are famous for their dynamite shrimp — which although tastes good, is definitely not light or healthy. their pickled cucumbers were addictive. while the nobu style miso cod piqued our interest, it was rather underwhelming.

Sansei Seafood Restaurant & Sushi Bar is located within Waikiki Marriott Resort and Spa. Five of us went for dinner. Service was prompt. Allie, our server went over the extensive menu and made suggestions based on our answers to her questions. We selected different Rolls and shared many dishes among ourselves. All were very tasty.

A wonderful dining experience, particularly during happy hour where some of the dishes are half price. The restaurant shares space with a steakhouse (d. k.) and one can order from either menu, but sitting at the bar and sampling various sushi dishes is where it's at. Service is professional but friendly and speedy. Prices are high, but getting there early and taking advantage of the half-price menu can help make a great meal more affordable.

Great Sushi Restaurant! I enjoyed our dinner at Sansei Seafood Restaurant and Sushi Bar! During our stay in Hawaii we dine in here for 2 times, great service, delicious rolls and very clean! You have to make a reservation prior, because they are too busy or fully booked!

The Sunday and Monday happy hour is intense. People who lined up for a table at 4:15 didn’t get in. There are two lines, left is table, right is bar. Know this trick!!! Most things on the menu is 50% off which is amazing and the food comes out real quick. Was it good? Yes, was it the best? Probably not. Good savings though.

Cinnamon's Restaurant Kailua is a popular spot known for its breakfast and lunch menus, featuring items like red velvet pancakes, cinnamon buns, and crab cakes. While the restaurant has expanded to other locations, the original Kailua branch remains a favorite among diners. The breakfast menu receives high praise, with Time Out USA listing Cinnamon's guava chiffon pancakes as one of the top 15 best pancakes in America.
We went to Cinnamon’s as someone else in our party wanted to go and we were pleasantly surprised. I had the short stack Guava pancakes and the guava sauce is so delish and the pancakes are light fluffy. I added a side of Portuguese sausage that was I best I have had. Smokey deliciousness worth the visit alone. The larger the party, the longer the wait, but it is worth and the staff have great personalities.

I was recommended to go here and I pass along my own recommendation. I would never have ordered them on my own, but after sampling 4 dishes they were my favorite: the Guava Pancakes! My wife and daughter really liked the tropical stuffed French Toast with Portuguese sweet bread. My only recommendation to the chef: add some macadamia to the banana pancakes and they would be 💣
Nick S — Google review
Our breakfast here was wonderful. We shared the special of the day, Corned Beef Eggs Benedict. Well prepared and very tasty. We also had the Tropical French Toast. The pineapple cuts through the sweetness of the cream very well and gives a rich but not overly indulgent flavor. We spent around $60.00 with tip. A glass of soda or tea is almost $5.00. So if you can drink water only, two people will save $10.00. I highly recommend this location and will come back again.

On the recommendation of the therapists at the spa upstairs (check them out!) we stopped for a late lunch. My daughter had the red velvet pancakes, husband kahula pork Benedict and I had the shrimp burger. We also shared a mango stuffed French toast. The French toast was 5+ stars. Husband loved his Benedict. My shrimp burger was good but a little lacking on the shrimp. Lots of bread and three shrimp. It was tasty. Lost a star because the tater tots tasted like old cooking oil. Fries were ok. Pancakes tasty. We brought home plenty of leftover on toast and pancakes. Service was fast and kind.

Great breakfast/brunch spot! Came here with my girlfriend on a Monday morning for breakfast, we were seated immediately and the staff were very friendly and attentive. We were given water almost as soon as we were seated, then ordered coffees while we browsed the menu. I felt no rush from our waitress, who also checked in on us often to make sure we were doing good and to offer free refills of water and coffee. We ended up ordering a variety of things to share and taste test, the rustic eggs benedict, cinnamon roll pancakes, and some limited time Dubai chocolate peanut butter banana pancakes. All the food was incredible! Very good presentation, sizing, and taste. For the portions and flavor, the prices are also very fair. we stayed for almost an hour and a half and still left with to-go boxes! Will definitely be coming back some time!

This place did not disappoint! I’d say it was the best breakfast we had our entire trip (5 days). I had the guava pancakes — delicious. My brother had the red velvet pancakes and liked it (looked like cake!). Portions are hearty and service was great. Nice atmosphere too!

HIGHLY recommend this spot. The staff is wonderful and the ambience is very charming and screams local gem. I had the eggs benedict with kalua pork with tater tots and it was incredibly filling and delicious. I was so full afterwards that it was hard finishing the tropical stuffed french toast which was shared with my table (group of 4). I will be making this a staple stop when I undoubtedly return to Hawaii.

Nestled on a quaint, bustling lane near Ala Moana Center, Side Street Inn is the ultimate casual hangout for those craving American comfort food with a local twist. This beloved late-night sports bar has become a favorite among chefs and food enthusiasts alike, including renowned James Beard Award winner Alan Wong. I love Side Street Inn for its delicious food, happy, attentive customer service, and valet parking service, which is so convenient! All the dishes we ordered were fast, generous, and yummy. Our waitress is a great young Chinese girl who brought a more joyful dinner to our table. She is lovely and very attentive. Tasty dinner with great portions! It’s definitely meant to be family style but we ordered one meal for everyone and had a bunch of leftovers. The misoyaki chicken and yakisoba noodles were excellent and went really well together. It was busy at dinner time so I’d definitely recommend making reservations.

Okay okay, I know I drop a lot of food reviews, but this right here? Not for the weak. If you get one solid appetite and you’re a foodie like me, then brother/sister/uncle/auntie/grandma/grandpa — you found the spot. The grinds? Immaculate. The portion size? Polynesian approved. The quality? You can literally taste the love the chefs put into their cooking. I still haven’t sat down to eat inside (’cause I’m guilty of binging movies while smashing food), but every time I’ve gone in to order, the vibe is on point. They got a bar, music (sometimes even live from some awesome local artists), a pool table, and a generous space that feels like home. The employees? 100% guarantee they love what they do, and it shows. So if you come through Side Street Inn, come hungry — and don’t be stingy, tip the crew. They deserve it, and you’ll walk out happy every single time.

Took my hungry family to dinner at Side Street Inn Kapahulu. It was our 1st time and we ordered several dishes. Loved the family style service with large portions. Some friends recommended this place. It was a good value. We had the chefs special for 3-4 people. We ordered o e extra entree. Our group was 7 adults and one toddler. We had leftovers. Salad was very good. Edamame also good. Fried rice, noodles, ribs, chops, and beef were awesome. We will return when we are entertaining a group. Good value.

Overall, our experience was just underwhelming. The food was just average at best. The quality definitely is mediocre. Pork chops were dry. Boneless Kalbi was tasty, but many of the pieces were tough and burnt. Garlic Chicken. The best dish of the night. Crunchy on the outside and moist and juicy inside. Full flavor. Chicken salad flavor was good, but chicken pieces were dry and hard.

Kono's Northshore in Haleiwa is a popular spot for a casual breakfast or brunch on Oahu. It's known for its delicious breakfast burritos and breakfast bombers, which are flour tortillas filled with eggs, potato, cheese, and meat like chorizo or pork. The restaurant also offers Killer Tacos and generously portioned burgers at Kua Aina Sandwhich. For vegetarians, Beet Box Cafe provides natural and healthy options.
Everyone hyped up Kono's so much and it was just as good as they said. The food is killer, and the atmosphere alone is worth coming for. The employees were very nice and got our food out in a timely manner. The chickens were also lovely breakfast guests to have around 😂😂

This is a great little spot to pick up some great food. I wish I would have gotten something other than the sliders. It’s not that they were bad, they were just tiny and I was left hungry after. We went for lunch one day and breakfast the next. The burritos as bomb. They are huge, filling and oh so tasty. Highly recommend going if you’re looking for a nice spot to chill, eat some good with the local chickens and do some shopping.

Great spot for a casual, satisfying meal after a day exploring the North Shore! The pork is definitely the star here—tender, flavorful, and served generously. I had the Bombers and they lived up to the hype—loaded, filling, and packed with flavor. The portions are big, so come hungry. The vibe is laid-back and the staff was friendly, even during the lunch rush. It’s not a huge space, so seating can be tight during peak times, and there was a bit of a wait. But the food came out quickly once we ordered. Overall, a solid spot for classic Hawaiian-style comfort food. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in Haleiwa!

Ray is the owner/manager and was super respectful, jovial, courteous and genteel. Nice to meet you man! The environment has plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. The chairs are metal so bring a towel you can fold up if you have no butt to cushion your experience. Food was great! Pricing is decent and it’s great because you are supporting local businesses. Especially after European colonialism and the heavy white presence here. Remember to respect the people and the culture. This isn’t just a paradise excursion. This is a land where the people have for generations established a kingdom and we are visitors against their will so show respect. The music is calming and the location was easy to access. The portions are kinda small. At least for me. I’m an average 6’4” 250 lbs and I EAT. So I probably wouldn’t come here if I was extremely hungry but the meal is a good lean meal to get your day started or if you just need to fill yourself to stave off hunger. Or if you’re a smaller person with a regular appetite. lol. Also I think the portions are for white people that serve as the majority of the people here so I’m not surprised the local businesses would make portions to serve the primary audience. In any case an excellent restaurant. Remember to support the locals here. Not white colonialism.

Service was fantastic, and strawberry lemonade was to die for!! Our food was good, but didn’t wow us. (We got the Hawaiian bowl, and the Old School sandwich) I’ll admit we were not super hungry when we came, so perhaps not ready lol, but this location closes so early and we wanted to try! I think if we were to eat here again I’d try some of the breakfast options, those seem to be more popular.

Restaurant
Nestled in the vibrant streets of Honolulu, Ramen Nakamura is a casual yet contemporary eatery that beckons ramen enthusiasts with its diverse offerings. While it may appear modest from the outside, this hidden gem often attracts long lines of eager diners waiting to indulge in its soul-soothing bowls of ramen. The menu boasts an array of options, including Hakata Ramen, Kimchee Miso Ramen, and Tomato Ramen—each crafted to perfection.
We ate here 5 years ago and it was even better this time. -The broth is liquid gold and sooooo incredibly flavorful & delicious. -the oxtail Ramen was amazing that we had to come back again. Definitely must try. -Super attentive in excellent service. Your water glass is never 1/2 empty. :) -absolutely loved the miso butter Ramen.
Juniper M — Google review
I tried the oxtail ramen here and I didn’t quite like it. The soup was far too salty and oily, and the ramen itself was overwhelmingly salty—it honestly tasted like something from the grocery store rather than a fresh, crafted bowl. The soup base also reminded me of pre-packaged spice mixes you’d find at the store. On the positive side, the oxtail portion was generous although it’s a bit dry. I also tried the dumplings, but they were very oily. Overall, the flavors didn’t feel balanced, and I wouldn’t come back for the ramen.
Charlie L — Google review
Ramen Nakamura is hands-down the best ramen I’ve had outside of Japan. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted with rich, comforting aromas and a cozy, authentic atmosphere that instantly transports you to a tiny shop in Tokyo. The broth is the star — deeply flavorful, balanced, and incredibly comforting without feeling overly heavy. The noodles have the perfect chew, and every topping feels thoughtful and fresh. Their oxtail ramen especially is unforgettable — tender meat, rich broth, and soul-warming depth in every bowl. Service is friendly, fast, and genuine, and despite how busy the shop gets, it always feels personal. Whether you’re a ramen fanatic or just looking for an amazing meal in Honolulu, this place is a must-try. If you’re visiting Hawaii, make Ramen Nakamura a priority. A stellar experience worth every slurp.

I really enjoyed the bowl of spicy ramen; it was very flavorful and served in a generous bowl. My only issue was that the bill arrived early, just as I was about to order another bowl of that delicious noodle goodness. Oh well! I paid and went off in search of more ramen. Enjoy!
Sean O — Google review
My GF and her dad went here for ramen, him and i got the half size spicy ramen with a combo c of pork garlic fried rice and gyoza. The broth was sooo good and the pork was perfect in all 3 dishes. Its A LOT of ramen in a regular size so keep that in mind. The kid size is smaller than the half size ramen. I highly suggest coming here.
Richard W — Google review
My never ending quest to try ramen from different shops continues! Before I try any ramen shop, I study the menu and look at the pictures as if I were going to be tested on it lol. I just like to be prepared and don't want to be surprised or disappointed. ATMOSPHERE: The shop is tiny, with just a u-shaped counter that seats about 20 people or so. We had late dinner, around 10:15pm on a Friday night, so we got seats without any wait. They do have queue ropes at the front door, so you know they get slammed during peak hours, only confirmed by the photos you see on Yelp. FOOD: Oxtail Shoyu Ramen Combo This is the only combo that comes with a regular sized bowl of ramen, so the server told me. Regardless of the menu description stating "Shio flavor," I was able to opt for shoyu. It also came with 3 pieces of gyoza, and small fried rice. The ramen broth tasted really good at first sip, but then became just a salty, beef broth-like flavor, without any depth or character. It came with about 3 pieces of tender oxtail which I picked at, as I'm not one to suck on bones. A separate dish of grated ginger and splash of shoyu was advised as a dipping sauce for the oxtail. The noodles were white, chewy, and went well with the dish. Toppings were slivers of fresh ginger, celery, white & green onions, garlic chips, bean sprouts, and fresh mushrooms. Not a fan. Gyoza The 3 pieces were perfectly seared and tender, with a tasty filling. One of the best I've had. Highly recommended. Fried Rice Very mildly flavored with green onions, egg, and bits of char siu. Mainstream at best. Hakata Tonkotsu Ramen My spouse's dish. I do not care for plain tonkotsu broths as the color turns me off. I had a spoonful of broth just to taste it. I was surprised at the depth in flavor which was slightly creamy, slightly savory, and very subtle. SERVICE: The two elderly ladies (who look alike) were sweet yet silent, and did a lot of hand gesturing. They brought me the wrong ramen but quickly corrected it. Due to the signage that states to present a "membership card" when ordering because it can't be changed when cashing out, I asked one of the ladies if they do a kamaaina discount. She smiled, made the palms up gesture and sort of directed it to the other lady helping her, so I took it as to "please ask her." So, I waited for the other lady to finish what she was doing, then asked the same thing, and she replied "YES! YES! OKAY!!!!" like I was being aggressive. *shrugs* I have no idea lol. TIP: Cash only. OVERALL: Fair pricing, okay ramen. Not a fan of the oxtail version.
Maui T — Google review
We ordered three bowls of ramen — one spicy oxtail ramen, which is their signature dish. The broth was okay, but the oxtail meat wasn’t very tender and a bit hard to chew, nothing really impressive. We also had one miso and one shoyu ramen, both quite average and not particularly tasty. The gyoza was honestly the worst Japanese dumplings I’ve ever had. The fried rice was decent, though far too salty. Overall, it feels more like a fast-food style restaurant with minimal service, though they do refill water frequently. If you just want a quick meal, it’s an acceptable option.
Wei L — Google review
The ramen was incredibly flavorful and absolutely delicious. The staff were warm and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Seating is limited, but that only adds to the cozy, intimate, and authentic vibe of the place

Paia Fish Market Waikiki is an Oahu seafood cafe that serves dishes from the Paia Fish Market in Maui. It's popular for its large portions of seafood specialties that are plain tasty and fill you up. Not everything on the menu is seafood, but it's a good place to get your fish fix.
We love this place! They have a food truck on the island too! We have been to the one in Maui before it burned down. The food never disappoints. We tried the fried calamari and the kids fish and chips this time around, they were both crispy and delicious 😋 Definitely coming back!

All of the stars, here, are for the staff. I give them 5 stars! Makena and Fin give superior customer service and really go above and beyond. The pineapple mojito was pretty decent. The fish and chips missed the bar big time for me. I didn’t like the texture and the breading was severely lacking in seasoning; I sprinkled salt on the fish and used almost every condiment to try to add flavor. I was very happy with their in-house made cole slaw; normally, I skip eating cole slaw when accompanying a meal, but this was very fresh and flavorful, I really enjoyed it. I learned about this restaurant from my Lyft driver; I would give Paia a try again, to actually go with what my driver recommended, pick a fish, preparation, and sides.
Reginice — Google review
Very busy place. Took about 20 minutes to get through the line. Clam chowder had a really good flavor, was a bit on the cool side. I had the blackened ahi tuna and my wife had olo fish butter garlic glaze. I thought the coleslaw was fantastic. Street parking around the area if you can find it. We walked from the hotel.
Eric T — Google review
Sunday afternoon visit, first visit. The food was pretty good. Lunch plate(snapper with cajun rice & home potatoes) and the fish & chips were our entrees. The rice was not at all cajun but it tasted well. The home fries were really good. The snapper was grilled and ok. The fish in the fish & chips tasted fresh. The fries were ok. The coleslaw is on the sweeter side, but we enjoyed it. You place your order and then it's more food hall style. A server delivers your order to you and the that's it. You clear your own table, but the table does come with a box with: utensils, common condiments, and napkins. Given the opportunity we'd eat here again.

Food: This restaurant became my favourite during my stay in Hawaii. I tried it once and became a fan. The fish tastes really fresh and delicious. Cleanliness: the store is well cleaned. Staff: very professional and friendly. Given the number of customers, they do a great job. Parking: you better walk. Price: it is a bit expensive but I don’t mind paying if the quality is good. For sure I would try it again and again.

Super good fish as expected. Really like the casual vibe and ordering a drink while in line. There's usually a line outside the door but it isn't too bad, about 15 minutes until you're inside, then you line up to order. Portion is massive. Fish is delicious.
Daniel W — Google review
Makenna the bartender was EXCELLENT!! Mai Tai, Mojito, and Blue Hawaiian done great. Mahi Mahi was superb. Cole slaw very tasty. Shrimp cocktail was yummy and shrimp were huge. The entire staff are very friendly and helpful. A MUST TRY.

Paia is a very nice family owned restaurant from what it seems. The vibe you get once you enter in is very warm and lively. The service is fantastic as our food came out in less than 10 minutes which shocked me honestly! The food tasted great and the pricing isn’t bad either! Definitely need to check it out if you’re in Waikiki!

Takeout Restaurant
Kua Aina Sandwich Shop is a modern fast-food joint with Hawaiian flair, offering burgers, sandwiches, and salads. Established in 1975, it has become a must-visit destination for food enthusiasts due to its delectable sandwiches. The shop is known for its generously portioned and flavorful burgers. The ambiance is bright and the staff are kind. Customers can enjoy crispy fries and flaming patties at this popular eatery on Oahu's North Shore.
If you’re in Haleiwa on Oahu’s North Shore and craving a satisfying burger, **Kua Aina** is a must-visit. This local gem delivers big flavor and aloha spirit in every bite. I ordered the **3/4 lb bacon burger**, and it did not disappoint—juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The thick-cut bacon added a delicious smokiness, and the fresh toppings were crisp and generous. Paired with a refreshing Hawaiian fruit punch, it hit the spot after a day of exploring. My wife got the **avocado burger**, which was equally impressive. The avocado was fresh and creamy, and the patty was cooked just right. She loved how well the flavors came together, and we both appreciated the portion sizes—hearty without being overwhelming. The vibe at Kua Aina is casual and welcoming, with open-air seating that lets you enjoy the laid-back North Shore atmosphere. The staff was friendly and quick, and everything felt clean and well-kept. Whether you're a local or just passing through, Kua Aina is the kind of place that makes you want to come back. For a delicious burger with island charm, it’s easily one of the best spots in Haleiwa.
Jaaron J — Google review
The avocado and the pineapple burger were both very good with lots of flavor and hefty servings. The fries were very good as well. Would recommend visiting if you are in the area. Only reason it’s not 5 stars is the outside seating was full of flies and a little bit dirty with the other option being inside and it was simply too cold and crowded. Overall a great place.
Snoodes — Google review
Best burger of my life. Bar none. Avocado burger with cheese with ketchup added. Perfectly seasoned patty. Part of the avocado slid off but didn't ruin the experience. Bun held together perfectly. Fried onions, tomato and lettuce were fresh and complimentary to the patty that stole the show. Fries were a good side but no match for that burger. Well done.
Gino B — Google review
What a perfect burger! Definitely go for the 1/2 pound patty. We tried both the pineapple burger and the cheeseburger - both were fantastic! The pineapple burger was the standout, hitting the sweet, greasy and salty spot all at once. Nothing beats a mouthful of a juicy burger. This place is a must-visit!

i was really really awesome food!! it was the most delicious burger i had during my trip to Hawaii!! Be sure to order a large size !
Jooyeon S — Google review
The 1/3-pound bacon burger I ordered was incredibly juicy and flavorful. They claim to cook all burgers at medium, but mine was well-done. Surprisingly, they served a carrot on the side, which I found a bit odd. We also split an order of the large fries, which were shoestring-style, my favorite.
Scott A — Google review
Kua Aina in Haleiwa has the best cheese burger I've ever had! We got a to go order. Thick piece of meat, generous and fresh tomatoes, lettuce, onions, and cheese. Comes with mayo. Got the shoe-string fries-very good and a small coleslaw, also good. My husband got the avocado sandwich. He said it was fantastic. See photos. I can highly recommend this restaurant.

Heard a lot about this place. Lots of seating indoors and outdoors. Soooooo many menus here. It was hard to make a decision. There aren’t any combos available here, so everything is separate. I didn’t realize but i should have ordered one sandwich menu to try it!! maybe next time. Liked the juicy patties and the pickle. Didn’t really like the short thin fries tho …

Papa Ole's Kitchen is a charming family-owned restaurant in an unassuming strip mall, offering a variety of homestyle Hawaiian dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Visitors can indulge in traditional Hawaiian favorites such as lau lau, poi, lomi lomi salmon, and haupia at affordable prices. The friendly staff are happy to recommend local favorites like garlic chicken and pulehu short ribs.
I kid you not, this place is my top 10 in the whole world. Must have the sautéed shrimp, but I’ve never had a bad thing there over multiple visits over the span of 8 years. It’s so simple but so good. It’s like home cooking but the flavors are good with every bite. Good portions and good variety. Love this place so much.

Great local place! You know it's gonna be good when it's mostly locals there that the owners know. Our favorite dish from there were the peanut butter buns. This cannot be missed! If you like peanut butter - please don't leave workout trying it from here. Gooey delicious and divine. The garlic shrimp were yummy. Loco moco was above average. Kalbi beef was great.
Jason S — Google review
Papa Ole’s Kitchen is a true hidden gem on the North Shore, and the first good sign was seeing the place packed with locals—always a great indicator. It’s not a formal restaurant, but more of a casual spot with picnic tables outside and a take-out style setup. Don’t let the laid-back vibe fool you—the food is absolutely top-tier. We tried the sweet bread French toast and the macadamia nut pancakes, and both were phenomenal. The pancakes come smothered in a rich, custard-based sauce and are topped with a generous handful of macadamia nuts. Every bite was decadent and satisfying, perfectly balancing sweetness and texture. They are cash only, so be prepared—but it’s more than worth it. The portions are generous, the flavors are spot-on, and it’s one of the best meals we’ve had on the island. Whether you’re passing through or staying nearby, Papa Ole’s is a must-visit for breakfast or brunch. Grab your food, find a table, and enjoy the best comfort food Hau‘ula has to offer. Highly recommended!
Peter H — Google review
Easily the 2nd best meal I had in Oahu. The best meal cost over double Papa Ole's, so that's not really fair. Caution, this place is CASH ONLY. We knew that coming here and were prepared. It was so good and they gave great portions. Pulehu (this was salty instead of sweet style) ribs were amazing. Garlic chicken was also good, but not as good as the ribs. Fries were also great (crunchy on outside, soft on inside). It is quite a bit of a wait as they cook it, but it wasn't long by any means. There are some benches just right outside where you can sit and eat on when your food comes out. The mac salad as well was probably the best mac salad I've ever had. If I do go back to Oahu, I'm booking a hotel In the north so I'm closer to this place.

The big j special literally had my knees wobbling it was so good lol. The sauce on that shrimp was insane I dipped the ribs into it. Top 3 meals I’ve had on the island

All the way on the Northshore side of the island. Past all those tourist places, heading into a close nit community. You'll find this restaurant of good Ole island comfort food. One of the must stops, if you're shooting the cruise around the island. Make sure you bring cash as they are cash only. Bring a chair to eat in the parking lot because they sure do get busy.

Cuckoo Coconuts is a lively outdoor Tiki dive with a retro theme, featuring local island artwork, natural foliage, and vibrant music. The place offers signature tropical cocktails and classic Hawaiian comfort food. Guests can enjoy the energetic performances of bands like The oldies n goodies while sipping on their drinks. Although dancing is not allowed, the band's engaging energy creates a fun atmosphere for patrons to enjoy.
Food and drinks are good, but can be a bit expensive. Great vibes, very classic bar feel. Very unfortunate about the dancing rule but I understand. (I heard about the unfortunate incident). 😔 The Oldies and Goodies band is awesome, definitely give them a tip. Jack the guitarist, is especially cool. Give this place a visit!

Love!!!! The band, the food, the drinks. ...the perfect vibe for a night out. The teriyaki burger is excellent. Not soggy and overly sauced. Crispy golden curl fries. Great non alcoholic drink options, too. The band is fantastic and staff so nice. Love this spot.
Christine H — Google review
When I saw this place from outside I couldn't wait to visit when it was open. It just looks so trendy. The tikis were great and it has much potential to be amazing but it lacks the minor details. The cocktails are expensive especially the fact the drinks come in plastic cups 🫤 it needs the extra touches to be a great tiki bar however the vibes were good. Live band had the crowd singing and there were a lot of people in there. There was a sign saying no dancing. We waited a while to be served which was a letdown too. But loved the decor. Wooden stools or chairs would look better with glasses for drinks.
Moniqa K — Google review
It is pretty basic and the cocktails come in plastic cups with very little garnish. We didn't eat so can't comment in food. Staff were nice.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Cuckoo Coconuts is an absolute blast! The cocktail selection is great – we had the “real pina colada” served in a pineapple. At $26 it’s on the pricey side, but the novelty and taste make it completely worth it. Live music was fantastic – the musicians had amazing rapport with the crowd and a great song selection. Bar staff were attentive and pleasant, and the overall vibe in the bar was lively and fun. Definitely a 5* spot for drinks and a good time!

Hungry N — Google review
I really wanted to like Cuckoo’s, but our visit was pretty underwhelming from start to finish. My group of four chose it because we thought it would be a “safe” option for everyone, but it ended up being one of the weaker stops of the night. I love tiki drinks, and I was excited to try theirs, but the cocktails here just weren’t good — and that was the consensus from all four of us. On top of that, the prices were surprisingly high: $17+ for a drink served in a plastic cup. We walked five minutes to another bar afterward and had far better drinks for under $15, and the bartender there was actually warm and welcoming. The food at Cuckoo’s was… fine. Pretty basic options like burgers, hot dogs, and other “safe” items. Nothing bad, but nothing memorable either. The live music was also just okay. It didn’t feel connected to the vibe of the bar at all — it was just standard classic rock covers you can hear at any spot on the strip. What made it stranger was the performers repeatedly telling the crowd to “dig deep into your pockets” for tips after every song, which felt uncomfortable and unprofessional. Service wasn’t great either. We had to ask for water, which isn’t a huge deal, but the wait staff only came by once the entire time we were there, even though we could see them the whole time. Overall, Cuckoo’s was a pretty disappointing experience. With so many great bars in the area offering better drinks, better service, and better overall vibes, I probably wouldn’t go back. I’m also interested in what the owner will reply back to this comment, it seems like they don’t care if there are returning customers stating “we win some, we lose some”.

Foodland Farms Ala Moana is a local supermarket chain in Hawaii that offers a wide variety of Hawaiian specialties, general groceries, and fresh produce. One of its standout features is the never-fail poke, a dish of simply seasoned cubed fish that comes in various flavors and styles. Each Foodland location has its own unique poke recipes, with the corporate chef constantly creating new variations based on current trends. The supermarket also offers fresh sushi, salads, and an excellent selection of fresh fruits.
Foodland Farms Ala Moana is a foodie’s dream! Fresh local produce, gourmet selections, and a top-tier poke bar. It’s where island flavor meets modern flair. Clean, friendly, and full of aloha spirit! They have fresh longans there and a bar in the middle as well. Pizzas look delicious but we had just had our meals in the food court. 😎

To stretch our travel budget further during our Honolulu trip, my wife and I shopped at Foodland Farms at Ala Moana Center, just a 20-minute walk from our Waikiki hotel, and it was a total lifesaver! Hawaii's dining scene can be pricey, and eating at fancy restaurants daily just wasn't doable. This place is perfect for travelers like us, offering a variety of delicious cooked foods and sushi for affordable takeout lunches or dinners. The vibe is super welcoming, with friendly staff handing out samples, and we were thrilled to discover their Sunday buffet inside the market--a fun way to taste new flavors. The poke bar is a real treat here, with so many fresh varieties to choose from. We couldn't get enough of the spicy California poke--mixed with rice, it's a flavorful, filling meal that's as satisfying as anything from a high-end spot. The spice level was just right, and the freshness made every bite amazing. Beyond poke, they've got a solid lineup of other cooked dishes and sushi, so there's always something to suit your mood, whether you're eating in their cozy dining area or grabbing food to go. What sealed the deal for us was their selection of fresh tropical fruits and desserts--think sweet pineapples, ripe papayas, and indulgent macadamia nut treats that added a perfect island touch to our meals. The prices are wallet-friendly for Hawaii, especially compared to touristy restaurants, and the quality never disappoints. Foodland Farms made eating well in Waikiki so easy and affordable--huge thanks for keeping our trip delicious and budget-friendly!

Opening hours are 6 am to 10 pm. Located in the ground parking area of ala Moana shopping center. A large food market with lots of ready made dishes. Pizzas. Salad bar. Poke bar. Sushi. Asian dishes. Sandwiches. Bakery. The food area looks very good and all is fresh. But the ready made dishes that we tried were all average and disappointing.

Asian-themed grocery store with an incredible poke bar—seriously so many fresh options to choose from! It’s clearly a local favorite because there were at least 30 people in line ahead of me, and even more coming in after. Pro tip: grab a ticket right away. The line moves pretty quickly, so no need to panic. Totally worth the wait!

High hope on poke was ruin by the staff at the section. They are well known for fresh poke, and I was the one that wait for long line which I understand. There were 2 people working at the poke one was a lady and she took care of customers very well when was my turn I got the robot guy that didn't helpful at all. No answer any questions and rush me to choose the type of fish. I ended up didn't get what I really and order too much food than I expected to eat. Yes, poke is fresh but dealing unfriendly staff just turn me off.

Fresh Catch is a fantastic spot for fresh fish & poke dishes. A deli style counter inside with simple menu items & pictures makes even a first time customer feel comfortable. The waiting area is just that, a place to sit and wait, though the service is fast and friendly. By the time you casually look at the all pictures, you’re order will be coming along & be careful of the heat on the bottom of to-go trays, I almost burnt myself, but that’s okay because it’s fresh! Good portion & priced accordingly…recommend 🤙🏼🎣

This fish market is truly one of those rare gems that you can’t help but rave about. They serve some of the freshest, highest-quality dishes you’ll find anywhere, and you can taste it in every bite. The ahi katsu is the standout — perfectly crispy on the outside with that golden crunch, and unbelievably tender on the inside. It literally melts in your mouth. It’s one of those dishes that makes you stop mid-bite because you can’t believe how good it is. Portions are very generous, too. You easily end up with leftovers, and somehow it tastes just as good later. That’s how you know the quality is real. The vibe inside is exactly what you want from a true fresh market — nothing fake or commercial. You see the fish, smell the freshness, and feel that authentic local energy. It’s not trying too hard, it’s just good. Real. Honest. And delicious. One of my favorite parts is the auntys who work there. They always show love, always greet you with warmth, and make you feel like family from the moment you walk in. That kind of hospitality is rare, and it makes every visit feel special. If there’s any downside, it’s only that they close early, so you have to plan your day around it — but honestly, it’s worth adjusting your schedule. When something is this fresh and this good, you make the time. Overall, this is absolutely a must-try spot for anyone who loves quality seafood, generous portions, and genuine aloha-style service. I’ll keep coming back again and again.

Lived up to expectations. Great Ahi Tuna Poke. Coconut Shrimp was delicious too! Came back in 2025 for the Ahi Shoyu Spicy Poke and Seared Ahi Furikake Salad! Both were so good that t-shirts and keychains had to be taken home.

Located near Diamond Head, South Shore Grill is a family-owned restaurant that has been serving up fresh and flavorful Hawaiian food since 2004. Specializing in fish tacos, the menu also features classic Hawaiian plate lunches and a variety of comfort food options such as burritos, sandwiches, and burgers. With its simple yet delicious offerings, this casual eatery provides an affordable dining experience with single tacos priced at less than $5 each.
This was a must-stop on our visit to Oahu. The group split fish, shrimp, and steak tacos, along with garlic fries. Both the fish and shrimp tacos were delicious, with the ingredients well-balanced. The steak taco was a sleeper hit, absolutely outstanding!

Cajun fries!! Paired with the aioli = delicious. Light and crisp. Friendly service, decent atmosphere. Food was a bit dry. We ordered the chicken plate and fish tacos. Flavor was good on the chicken, but it was dry. Fish tacos could use more flavor. Mac salad was yum. Would go back to try other dishes. Could have just been an off day because other reviews say the fish tacos are spot on.

Amazing fish taco place!! I can tell you from experience that you do not need to order the two taco plate, we both got a two taco plate and it lasted us 4 meals collectively! The pricing is really good for the amount of food you get. There's seating inside which is great, and a bathroom. The food didn't take too long, and the staff was super nice. The food itself was so yummy!! Their Mac salad, fries, slaw, and rice all come with the tacos, and were so good. I highly recommend it!

It’s been a long time since I’ve had fresh tortilla chips and the ones from Southshore hit the spot! I also got the Kai-Bi burrito and it was to die for. Highly recommend stopping by here for your next meal!

From thirtieth birthday to third trimester. This place is amazing. Early on in dating we came here during Covid and absolutely loved the food, I remember being very sad for my last bite because I didn’t know when I’d ever eat here again. Four years later—married and expecting—we are coming back for our baby moon and they continue to impress. The food is better than I remember. The people are absolutely amazing and I cannot wait to come back again. Highly recommend the shrimp and fish tacos and if you’re feeling extra jazzy add their amazing pesto to it. Honestly, South Shore Grill is the reason why we come to Oahu.

I walked 38 minutes to this place on a recommendation. My hopes were high but I was disappointed. I got the Mauka Makai , the most expensive plate. It took about 15min to get it. I choose fish and steak. The fish was dry and over cooked. The steak has a sauce very similar to teriyaki sauce, but it was good. Most of the plate was just a sticky white rice with the Tuna mac. tasted like plain macaroni salad, and slaw. I just was not impressed. I guess if you take the fish and wrap it in a tortilla and put sauce and other stuff it could be good. Maybe I will try again but not anytime soon.

Got the two taco plate (fish taco and shrimp taco). The shrimp taco was average but the fish taco was fire! They were accommodating and knowledgeable about gluten free. I wasn’t able to have the tuna Mac salad, but they subbed for fries and rice.

Waikiki Yokocho is a contemporary food hall offering a diverse range of Japanese dining options, including ramen, sushi, and tempura. One of its highlights is Baikohken, a ramen stand recognized in the Michelin Hokkaido guide. The marketplace features various Japanese restaurants and a popular tempura spot. Visitors can enjoy the vibrant atmosphere with music and excellent bartending.
Its hard to imagine or explain the feeling you get when all your favorite Japanese foods get together under one roof. I went to this place and couldn't comprehend what was happening. From great sushi to ramon to any other type of Japanese food you have a choice to pick. One of the most unique food experiences you get in Honolulu and everyone should go visit it.

Barrios: Tasty broth. I ate it all Update: I still dont know the name of it but it's the tempera place with only 3 tempera bowls. We ate here numerous times and each time it's still super tasty and flavorful

This busy Japanese food hall is very convenient and serves great food! All of the dishes are super flavorsome and taste delicious. One of the places here you HAVE TO go to is the place near the desert shop. It sells little rice balls that have different fillings in them (see picture). The other restaurants basically sell the same thing as the other two pictures. The dessert shop I mentioned earlier has creative looking shaved ice that you should try. It is really tall and melts quickly but the taste is luscious. In conclusion, visit this place for good high quality food. Also, it is right underneath a shopping mall! The whole area is a shopping plaza too.

We stumbled upon this place while walking to another restaurant. We walked in and thought we somehow went to Japan. All of the little restaurants offered such a bug variety of Japanese food: sushi, curry, ramen, shabu shabu, Japanese bbq. We ate at the hotpot/bbq place and would definitely do it again. We had never had wagyu beef before so we chose this place to be our first. We did the bbq and got A5 wagyu kalbi, shrimp (head on, shell and tail on), assorted veggies, chicken, pork (which is kinda like bacon but better), and regular kalbi. The grill was easy to figure out and everything was fresh and delicious. Service was also top notch there. They constantly filled our waters and picked up empty dishes quickly. They were also very friendly with our questions (most customers there were Japanese and familiar with the bbq concept. We weren't). This place accepts credit cards but beware as others have said that some places don't. They will have a big sign at the front to say cash only so just look out for that when visiting. There's an ATM by the entry to Ramen Road if you need cash. Overall I would eat here again and at the other spots if I could, but we head out tomorrow. Definitely go visit this place!

Dukes Lane Market & Eatery is a vibrant food hall and gourmet market located on Kuhio Avenue in Waikiki. One of its highlights is the Spitfire Rotisserie & Flatbread counter, known for its delightful mochi malassadas available in original, ube, and mango flavors.
This place has a bar, an Island Gourmet Coffee, and a Spitfire Rotisserie. There is also an ABC Store. The poke bowls were awesome, and three of us ate for $45. The coffee and matcha ere great too.

Picked up a few items for breakfast including: Ube roll; pineapple fritter; croissant; and dragon pitaya bowl. It was delightful to find real pineapple chunks inside the pineapple fritter, so tasty and not too sweet. Baked in store, worth a try! There is a special on acai bowls, but the dragon pitaya bowl was so satisfying. Some of the sorbetto melted on the walk back (in the photo), probably better to eat it on the spot. There are a few tables indoors to dine in. Friendly and efficient service.

AVOID THIS PLACE - THEY MIGHT KILL SOMEONE WITH ALLERGIES I bought a beef burger and fries from here, and towards the end of my meal I noticed that there was something else in the fries, after looking closer I realised that these were discarded shrimp tails in with my fries. I hate seafood so I now feel sick that I might have eaten some of these. I went back to the staff to ask what they were and she confirmed they were pieces of shrimp, but couldn’t care less that they were in my food. She just shrugged her shoulders like it didn’t matter and didn’t even apologise, but a person with a shellfish allergy could have died. If you have any concerns about allergies I would strongly advise you to go somewhere else.
John S — Google review
I would have given this place a five-star, but with all the food courts and eateries, they don’t have a bathroom for customers to use. That’s the first thing I need to point out. After many hours of flying from Seattle, my family and I went straight there for dinner before they closed. We eat there and need to use the restroom. There is a restroom for employees, but not for customers. As for the food it was fantastic. I love the Kalua pork loco moco. The gravy over rice, and the kalua pork were delicious. I would shop at this place again, especially the Spitfire restaurant and the bakery right at the entrance.

Review is for Spitfire Rotisserie & Flatbread. The place is spotless and the service is prompt and friendly. The Breakfast Plate was plenty of food and well priced. The scrambled eggs were piping hot. The bacon was a generous portion though pretty greasy. The potatoes were only lightly salted. Unfortunately, they were served cold.
David P — Google review
If you catch it when it’s fresh they actually have some of the best poke I’ve ever had. Sadly they got rid of the nice hidden outdoor seating area they had which has been taken by the restaurant Basalt. It’s a good place to grab something to eat for cheap, and man if their spicy ahi poke is fresh you will be blown away by how good it is. Their teriyaki chicken plate is also very decent with a good amount of chicken for the price. Also their large fountain coke is 1.75 which is like the same as McDonald’s not bad!
Tony C — Google review
There isn't much seating here ( two tables inside) but good thing the beach is less than 10 minutes away. This place is a mix of convenience store with both a coffeeshop/milk tea and ice cream shop. The espresso drinks are more reasonably priced for this area. You get what you pay for. This place is well staffed and usually a line but moves fast.

The establishment is known for its emphasis on fresh fish and minimal seasonings, allowing the quality of the ingredients to shine. Run by experienced brothers from Tsukiji Fish Market in Japan, it's a seafood lover's paradise with offerings like Omakase 7 cuts of Sashimi and Maguro Kama Teriyaki.
Food was amazing! The fish was fresh and the rice was cooked to perfection. I ordered the ume shiso poke and hubs got the king salmon/ahi combo. It’s in a food court area so I got a bit lost but I'm glad I persisted and found it! There is a sitting area with tables and chairs, but not many. We went right before closing time and I was worried I would be turned away, but the lady was super kind. And you don't come here for the atmosphere, you come for the food!!!

Tucked away at the back, when coming through the main entrance. Very crowded mall with numerous food stalls. Got the Hawaiian Limu which was amazing. Large size was just enough to hit the spot. Not a huge fan of the super busy and hectic mall, but there was lots of seating available, and the location is the calmest considering.

Casual grab and go spot within a marketplace. Sushi is incredibly high grade and fresh. Melts in your mouth with each bite. The sushi rice was well textured with a touch of rice vinegar. Very well rounded meal and worth a stop if you’re in Chinatown.

I’ve been eating at Ono, Marukai, Fresh Catch and Giovanni Shrimp food truck and honestly Maguro Brothers CHINATOWN LOCATION has been the highlight of my trip. It was so good- we went back for a second time and the employees recognized us. We went to the Waikiki location in hopes that they would also have the chef’s omakase. It does not. Fairly priced, FRESH and SO GOOD. I’ll be missing this spot when I go back home. The only downside is that Chinatown in Honolulu is a tad sketch in some areas making me feel queasy at times. 🥲 Overall good job team Maguro!

🍣🍱 for professionals, locals and tourists near or in downtown HNL. Absolutely loved this spot! I ordered the ahi limu poke bowl and it was delicious — super fresh, flavorful, and perfectly portioned. At $13.95, the price is more than reasonable for the quality and quantity you get. It’s a true hidden gem tucked away in Maunakea Marketplace, Chinatown. You won’t find anything this fresh and affordable anywhere nearby. My kids love the spicy ahi and hamachi sashimi bowls. Enjoy! 💯🤙

The Hula Dog Kuhio is a fantastic contemporary hot dog restaurant that features garlic lemon sauce and shaved ice desserts. It's perfect for those looking for something different than the average hot dog. The food is delicious and the atmosphere comfortable and fun.
Never had a dog like this before! Lots of options. The dog and bread were both fantastic. The sauce was a bit spicy for my taste, even mild, though my wife enjoyed it just fine. Get a drink too! There is a large covered area here with tables to eat at. The man working here was super cool and even helped us get some quick photos beside the cart.
Ty S — Google review
I read about these hot dogs years ago and it was a must taste for our trip to Honolulu. Bread was fresh and delicious. I got the medium garlic lemon sauce with Hawaiian mustard and pineapple relish. All beef dog was juicy and perfectly complemented by the sauces and mustard. Being able to eat a hot dog with lots of sauces without getting all over me was a special treat. I saw that Anthony Boudain (RIP) had visited their stand in the past and was impressed as well. Toasting a whole loaf(similar to an unsliced hoagie roll) on a spike made for a unique experience. I’m only sorry I didn’t get a photo before I took a bite. Sooo worth the wait!
Gregg M — Google review
Wow. This is not just a hot dog stand. I was was skeptical because hot dogs are not usually something I go for but this hands down is the best and will be on our itinerary every time we come back to Hawaii. The cashier was friendly, the bread as tasty as any Hawaiian roll. The toppings really make the dog though. Flavorful and surprising. You don’t expect the flavors to go well together but they do!

This is worth seekimg out! Unique and incredible! Ordered the signature poi polish dog and the Hawaiian polish dog. Both were amazing! I normally don't Iike hot dogs, but these were definitely worth the try!! Also, the li hing lemonade is awesome! The owner was very personable and chatted passionately about his wonderful, fresh sauces, etc. Overall, 10 out of 10. Really. Cool, fun, and delicious. Also, we made it a point to try puka dog on kauai, as well. Trust me, hula dog is the clear winner.

Absolutely amazing. Hula Dog is hands down one of the most unique and delicious food experiences on Oahu. The sweet Hawaiian bread is perfectly soft with just the right amount of chew and the way they toast it from the inside is genius. I tried the mango relish with the spicy garlic lemon sauce and a polish sausage and it was a flavor explosion. The balance of sweet savory and spicy is unlike any hot dog I have ever had. Plus Dennis was super friendly and the vibes were laid back and fun. Whether you are a local or just visiting this place is a must try. Definitely a five star gem.

Dim sum restaurant
Hawaiian restaurant
This popular dim sum restaurant specializes in Hawaiian-style versions of Chinese dishes, such as pork buns called manapua. The food is generally well-received and can be quite filling, so arrive early if you want to snag a seat.
I went for the Manapua and I was not disappointed. 40 years ago it cost $0.25 for one from the food truck that frequented our school. Today it cost $1.90: a bargain compared to the real estate cost increases in Hawaii over the past 40 years. Their hours are limited and Char Hung Sut is not a restaurant. They have a very limited number of options, but they do have soda in a cooler if you need something to drink. Your food is placed in a cardboard box and tied shut - everything is carry out. Their operation is very basic, fun to watch, and efficient. They take your order, get your food, take your money and you are expected to move on so someone else can get their food. Parking is street parking, and because you’re in Chinatown you might want to take the time to explore a bit while you’re there. The manapua is great, and I expect the rest of what they do is very good as well. I hope I have the time, and appetite given all the other great food options in the area.

I love this place! Family owned and run. They speak Hakka :) Most was so flavorful and delicious - fresh from the steamers. A couple of things we had were average but definitely a place to visit! 4.8.

This is a great hidden gem that is take out only. Please stop and try the half moons and the manapua. The half moons are dumplings and the manapua is a soft sweet bread with a pork filling. I would get these again!
Terri R — Google review
Small shop that makes everything right in front of you! Though there are only a handful of things in the menu, you should just get the pork buns. Extremely fluffy, sweet & savory - exactly how a pork bun should taste. Pork hash was good (texture similar to sticky rice dumplings) but didn't care for the half moon & pepitao. Overall, the portions of the fillings were a bit smaller than expected. Especially in the pork bun, there was much more bread than filling.
Steven W — Google review

We went a little after lunch time and the Manapua choices were few and far between. However I was able to try both the steamed and baked Char Siu and both were delicious. Steamed was pillow stuffed although I did feel that the filling was a small portion. Baked was light and had more filling. We also ordered a plate lunch and wow they pack it with soooo much food! This is a place the locals eat for good reason lots of food at a great price away from Waikiki. It's kind of an Asian plate lunch cafeteria style the chow fun and garlic fish were outstanding. Chun Wah Kam Ala Moana offers cheap eats but delicious. I love the consistent quality and the generous servings. The service always good. The chow fun is delicious at this location. I had the mushroom fried rice for the first time and now I’m obsessed, kau yuk with thevattiest pieces that melts in your mouth goodness. The beef broccoli was tough and hard to chew. I had soooo much leftovers which I’m happy for $14.66 tax included! Great deal, affordable and so delicious!

The manapua was just like I remembered. Tasty and delicious. The only thing that got me was, when you order manapua the box is bigger so they make you pay for a reusable bag that’s $2 something. I didn’t mind that, but my manapua didn’t come in a reusable bag that I pad for. It was just the box. The delivery (ChowNow) wasn’t no DoorDash, it took over an hour to deliver something that was already made and a little over a mile away.

We all know it's a true struggle to have to pick one out of many delicious-looking poke seafood options, especially if you always wanna try a little bit of everything like I do. So I'm so glad that they offer free sampling before you order! The staffs are friendly and give great recommendation! Overall we're super satisfied with our order. They also offer a mini poke option if you're doing poke hopping like we were. Additionally, there's a section of discounted overnight poke! (still perfectly edible and delicious of course)

First walk in. Employees not that friendly. No personality. No smile. For the food. The poke is not that great had a lot of choices. Choose the pokes that was fresh and caught my eyes. Didn’t taste great. Added more ingredients to it when I went home. I got the laulau plate. Laulau was the only thing good. Would go back for laulau only. Wish they had condiments like chili pepper water for the laulau. Unless you have to ask for it. They didn’t offer. Got the boiled peanuts. Idk why they have to serve it in a paper bag where it’s already saturated by the peanuts. Got the chicharon bites. They were salty. 4/2025

After reviewing several local recommendations & and driving over 35 minutes to get to this place as a tourist from Detroit, found the dining experience to be underwhelming. The hot food options did not appear fresh and the overall selection was limited. The menu offerings also did not align with the promotions advertised in the coupon book. Solid place to get your local Hawaiian and Filipino grindz. It’s a place hidden away from Waikiki and close proximity to Kapiolani Community College. Nothing fancy, it has a hole in the wall feel, Workers are friendly, and food is good. Local Hawaiian and Filipino Plate lunches, poke bowls, and snacks. Inflation sucks but this is Hawaii. The poke special is ~$30/lb, it’s high but it’s good. Mixed Plate 2choice combination plate lunches were $17.99 each. Add lechon and it’s $21.99. I got the Kalua Pig and Squid luau. No worries tourists, it’s not exactly squid, it’s actually octopus chopped small in luau leaves. But they call it squid luau. The Kalua pig was solid, moist, and flavorful. The squid luau was good too, more on the sweeter side. I also got another mixed plate of the pork adobo and sari sari. That was delicious as well. The spam Musubis were delicious. Chicken Musubi was ok.

Walmart Honolulu is a 24-hour supercenter located near Ala Moana Shopping Center on Keeaumoku Street. It offers a wide range of products, including general merchandise and supermarket items such as food, fruits, dairy, meat products, and vegetables. The store is known for providing affordable prices and has a convenient location with plenty of parking available.
Living in Australia & having heard of Walmart on TV shows, we thought we'd check it out No disappointment here! We loved the shop, so much variety & easy to find things too! We even got some great bargains All in all, it was a great experience!

So, I’ve been using Walmart’s scan-and-go app for about four years. Four. Years. Not once in all that time have I had an issue—scan, count, checkout, let the cashier give my cart a cursory glance, and off I go. Smooth sailing. Until today. All I wanted was to return two pairs of boys’ shorts. My 5-year-old decided they were too hard to unbutton (because apparently Walmart has discovered medieval torture as a design inspiration). They even changed the screw on the button and dropped the price by two bucks. Simple, right? Wrong. The cashier takes one look at my items and informs me—with the conviction of someone defending state secrets—that the barcodes “don’t match” the system, therefore no proof I bought them. I show her my receipt. It has the correct item, screw, and price. Actual proof. Her response? Shrug. Cue 30 minutes of back-and-forth with her and the manager, who kept inventing conspiracy theories about me. The highlight was when he suggested I’d scanned a different item, stolen these shorts, and was now attempting some criminal mastermind scheme where I keep the “real” shorts and return the stolen ones. Really? I’m out here trying to pull a grand Ocean’s Eleven heist over children’s clothing? Finally, after my patience was legally declared dead, I pointed out the obvious: the shorts match the description on the receipt. In black and white. Case closed. They reluctantly processed the return, but not before I gained an entourage of three Walmart staff following me like I’d just robbed Fort Knox. One guy was even wandering around holding an empty fan box like it was some kind of prop in their amateur spy movie. Another in an Avengers T-shirt, clearly cosplaying as “Security Thor.” I pay. Random item check. Then, at the door—surprise!—another receipt check. Because nothing says “valued customer” like being treated like a shoplifting mastermind when all you did was buy the wrong toddler shorts. So, for the employees who turned my day into a circus act and decided tailing me around the store was their big break in retail crime-fighting: congrats, you get one star. And that’s me being generous.

It would be five star if they had electric shopping carts that weren't out of service or not charged overnight. We did find what we wanted and at a discounted price for some. Self service checkout was great! Now we are ready for our next adventure!

Granddaughter is baking a fudge cake. She is so aka`mai 🧐. She makes cooking & baking shows. 1 of them, we did it in the store. She called it " On a budget?" She compared the cost difference for WE are Great Value customers with the + plan. As she's doing her show and I'm the one w/ the camera. She talks about the many deco you could put on it for it's edible. ALL Great Value products, I stop to tell her " a Brownie Sudae desert you have to have vanilla ice cream. ". Opens the door to the refrigerator and pulled out the vanilla yogurt instead and added to the top of her creation. Genius. She does this every other week wearing a full on chef's clothes. For even though you are on a budget. You still can have a tasty dessert, rather you make it or buy it! Great Value products makes it possible.

This Walmart location is close enough to walk to the bus station that will take you back to the cruise port. The amount of local brands and souvenirs was incredible. Saved money big time. And you have to try the BBQ restaurant inside as well.

Beware... Walmart has a license plate reader car service that drives around the parking garage. Cameras on ceiling recording you leaving and arriving. October 2025, Walmart changed the overhead lights in the store. Super bright LED lights. 😎

Very busy location!! A Sam’s Club is adjacent to this location and a 4 story parking garage is located right besides. Very large location with a TON of people. They actually have a tourist section where they sell all the Hawaiian specialties like a macadamia nut clusters and coffee you can think of. Since it’s such a large store and I was looking to get a snorkel mask, some sunflower seeds and some oat milk I had to ask for Help a couple of times. The staff there was very friendly and helpful and helping me find the items I was in search of. Checkout was pretty easy although they had no bags available for your groceries. You had to buy the reusable recycled bags if you wanted to.

If you can go to another Walmart, I’d recommend doing so. It’s packed to the max with people. People stop in the middle of the aisles and make shopping irritating. Product availability is ify, I’m assuming because of the amount of people that come through there. One of the workers who “checks receipts” at the door was on her phone not helping the old man co-worker of hers with the crowd at the door

Japanese restaurant
Musubi Cafe IYASUME Keeaumoku is a small Japanese counter-serve cafe known for its variety of bento boxes and grab-and-go bites like musubi. The cafe offers over 100 different creations of the Hawaiian staple, with flavors that attract long lines of eager customers. What sets this place apart is its exclusive focus on rice balls made with koshihikari Japanese rice, which gives them a distinct taste and texture.
This place is pretty good. Everything is made to order quickly. The spicy roll was really spicy. The prices are reasonable. The cashier was quirky. 5 stars

We enjoyed trying these musubis! We liked the taikon radish the best as well as bacon egg and avocado one as well! The bacon was a bit soggy though…

The spouse wanted miso soup to accompany a sandwich from a neighboring biz as that did not sell it. ATMOSPHERE: The crammed little takeout spot is in the row of shops outside of Walmart & Sam’s Club. MENU: Different styles of musubi, rice balls, bento, rice bowl dishes and miso soup! FOOD: Miso Soup They sold just one size, a small cup for just over $2. It came loaded with seaweed, tofu and green onions. The report back was “really good”. SERVICE: Counter service was welcoming and professional. OVERALL: I wanted to try some musubi but I’m trying to cut down on the carbs!

Hole in the wall kind of Musubi shop. Was expecting some flavor in the rice but turns out it was actually plain Japanese rice - or at least that’s what I experienced. Perhaps it was on purpose to reduce the saltiness from spam. Otherwise the onigiri is also worth trying.

Always claims they can't make a bento when the Japanese girl with the tattoo is working, but able to when others are. Has a rude tone and attitude. I do business with their corporate team so little does she know she hurt the relationship.

Great place for lunch. Friendly and quick service. Musubis were great (spam and seaweed). Great tasting and very filling. 4 stars because of the fried chicken and tempura. They were soggy and tasted like they were sitting around for awhile. Stick with musubi and you should be good. Good location and easy to find but no dedicated parking. Good price and worth stopping by.

The spam musubi is a different type of spam than the typical spam you get at the supermarket- a little fattier, similar to corned beef. still super tasty!! But as a preference I like the typical spam more. On the other hand, the triangle rice I got was AMAZING. The salmon was super flavourful and salty, and was pretty filled up on the inside!! Overall really good and you should try if you have the chance.

Tuna musubi was so creamy and delicious. Was a 3 minute wait and staff was very kind and helpful with helping me decide what to order. Edemame beans were so flavorful and tempura was crunchy
