Bar & grill
American restaurant
Located in Saugatuck, Phil's Bar & Grille is a dynamic eatery with a long wood bar and a small, diverse beer list. It's known for its friendly sports pub atmosphere where regulars get rowdy during games and trivia contests. The menu goes beyond typical pub fare, offering creative dishes like adobo-rubbed ahi tuna and potato-encrusted walleye.
I finally gave Phil’s a try after vacillating for a while, but I’m glad I did. Service was good, and the place has a nice atmosphere. I ordered the muffuletta sandwich and found it to be very good. The olives and deli meats make for a very savory and slightly spicy sandwich, and the potato wedges were also cooked just right. They had some nice beers on tap, too, so that was a plus. I’m glad to have finally given Phil’s a try, and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to smaller groups.

The ladies did a good job serving us. We really like the chicken wings appetizer. It’s messy, but tasty, and they gave us wet napkins so we can clean our hands. 🙌 The space is small, so there was a wait, but it’s got some charm. We do want to come back to try other entrees. 😊
Njac — Google review
This place was crowded the two nights we stayed and wanted to see if it was worth the hype. It totally was. The salmon and the crispy chicken sandwiches were both 5/5. They have crayons so you can color all over the table (even as an adult!) and the staff are so friendly. Would definitely be back and recommend this place to anyone staying in the area looking for delicious food.
Rebecca K — Google review
We were eating in a breakfast place in Holland and the owner told us this is the only place they would eat at in the area. Turned out this is definitely one of the best place in the area! We needed to wait for an hour or so for our table because it was busy on a Saturday at 7 PM. We didn’t mind it and the owner was super nice to us. Food was great and waitress was nice! Definitely need to get the ribs. I love my walleye. The only downside is maybe the veggies need more seasoning or salt. Otherwise it would be perfect. However I would still give this place a 5 stars because I felt welcome in here and people seemed to enjoy this place. It’s a happy place with a good vibe!
Cami L — Google review
I showed up here during Pride. They were packed and I waited a little over an hour for a table. If you're reading this while waiting/before you go, I urge you to be patient. You will not be disappointed! The staff are both friendly and accomodating. The kitchen is as quick as they are masterful at preparing the food. I hope to return before I have to resort to eating their blackened burger in my dreams. Thank you, Phil's! Peep the bonus animal crackers!
Zach C — Google review
Great food. The tuna poke appetizer was very good, as well as the filet mignon for the entree. Always consistent food and they have great cocktails and a very nice wine selection.
Tami S — Google review
Our favorite dinner spot in Saugatuck. The salmon & wings are absolutely stellar and the atmosphere is like an inside secret everyone is happy to share. Local art on the walls; boisterous, convivial energy; low light & lively jazz; the perfect balance between relaxation and quality. Come here and feel like you've always been at home in this place. What's not to love?

Service was very attentive and the food was amazing. We had the nut salad and the boasted wings, which were both great.

Southern restaurant (US)
American restaurant
The Southerner is a laid-back lakeside restaurant that offers Southern-style dishes and cocktails in a comfortable setting. It's a popular spot for travelers looking to unwind by the water and enjoy some delicious food. The venue is known for its relaxed atmosphere and tasty cuisine, making it a must-visit for those seeking an authentic Southern dining experience. With its scenic location and delectable menu, The Southerner provides the perfect setting for a leisurely afternoon or evening out.
This gem in Saugatuck (along the River) is worth the stop and wait! Indoor capacity is under 100 people but they do also have outdoor seating. Atmosphere has an old southern home feel and the menu options are classic southern staples. Party tried the fried catfish platter and the chicken tenders. Everything was awesome (slightly disappointed in only 1 fish filet tho). Otherwise all components were so good (spicy coleslaw, crispy fries, and the remoulade is the Best!!!) Definitely want to go back to try more. Coke products served; which is always a plus for us!
K N — Google review
The food was good, as always, but the experience was a disappointment. There was no Southern hospitality—policies seemed to matter more than customers. We placed a large order, spending over $200 at the outside window, planning to enjoy it on the front patio. After paying, the manager told us that due to their “policy,” we couldn’t order what we had already purchased as takeout. She adjusted our order to fit their rules, which left us with less food—then asked us to pay about 20% more on top of it. What a sad policy. To make matters worse, they seemed to realize it was wrong, because they brought out what appeared to be day-old desserts as a consolation. Sorry for the long review, but customers should come first. In this case, their priorities were backwards, and it showed.
Tim F — Google review
The Southerner is hands down my favorite spot for chicken! They make their own Nashville hot sauce (you can pick from mild to extreme), and it’s absolutely incredible. The weekends do get busy, but they make the wait easy with a walk-up bar and plenty of seating while you wait. The location is perfect, right on the Kalamazoo River—making it the ideal place to spend summer days. Parking can get tight when it’s busy, so plan ahead. Prices are on the higher side, especially for drinks, but the food and atmosphere make it well worth it. If you want to treat yourself or your loved ones, The Southerner is the place to go!
Marisa B — Google review
Looked like a dive in the outside but was cute on the inside with a view of water. I had the catfish poor boy with fries. My sandwich was good but my fries were so salty that they were burning my mouth. I was not able to eat them. My guy had the debris poor boy. He said, “it was ok. It wasn’t fantastic.” He loved the his fries because they were crispy the way he likes them. His appeared to have been salted less.
Janine C — Google review
We are from the Metro Detroit area, but every time we head out west, we we make a special trip to The Southerner; this is our 4 or 5th visit because their food and drinks are amazing. Service is always good and the restaurant is beautiful and sits off of a little piece of water. It’s a small dining area, but they’ve recently opened up the deck and patio spaces where you can wait and have a drink beforehand. There’s a waitlist that you can get on because you cannot make reservations beforehand, but it never seems to be an excessively long way anytime we go. We were greeted and seated right away in the secondary dining room where we ordered drinks and app for the table. We got 2 orders of the appetizer fritters and the family meal for 6 (Catfish; fried chicken in mild hot sauce and original; Mac n cheese, collard greens; biscuits with honey butter, and lastly, an order of french fries.) we also received coleslaw. Everyone enjoyed the food so much but the standouts were the catfish and crab fritters with that spicy remoulade sauce, spicy dipped chicken, and the mac & cheese. The greens don’t have any meat in them, they instead use miso to give you a little bit of depth to it. They just needed a little bit more spice so we added the hot sauce dip and it was incredible. The biscuits are the flakiest most beautifully baked things I have ever tasted. They’re so amazing with that honey butter. They used to serve a succotash with black eyes peas that was out of this world. It’s no longer on the menu, but it’s something that kept us coming back here after year. Hopefully it makes a return. Drinks were perfect too - well mixed; my husband likes a booze forward cocktail and these did not disappoint. Leftovers were plenty and they reheated well. Still moist after a trip home and back in oven.

This has been a hard one to write about, especially since being local to this amazing place, we finally had a day of to go. We were there around noon (they open at 11) and our orders were taken around 12:30. We were seated outside, which was really nice and everyone around us was complimenting their food. It encouraged us that we made the right decision coming out for lunch. We had even studied the menu that morning because we don't like being indecisive. My husband had the Fried Catfish Platter and I had the deviled crab and Langostino Poor Boy. We noticed that the menu did not list anything that was a side salad so we decided to share with the Little Gem Salad which are server assured us could feed 2 people. After watching several couples come and go, we realized that we had no food in front of us and checked the time, it was 1:20 pm. We had been waiting nearly 50 minutes for our food and I had hoped that maybe they would bring the salad out beforehand. There was even one point where 1 of the fake fingernails from the waitress fell off onto the table. When the food finally came out, we were happy to see it but we were soon let down. The salad was incredibly bland and flavorless but we ate it because we were hungry. My husband did like his catfish dinner but when he realized he only got one piece for the price, he was very surprised. For what you pay, you really need to have 2 or 3 pieces and they don't have to be gigantic. His cole slaw was also very strongly seasoned. My crab/lobster poor boy was okay. The meat was served cold on the bun with a relish and lettuce, which is too much green on one sandwich. The bun was great and yeah, it was a very spicy roll, at least to me. Maybe we should have spoken up. Maybe we should have said more but I didn't know what direction to go because it was our first time eating there. We not sure if we'll go back anytime soon but I want you to judge for yourself. Good luck.

Oh my goodness, I got my southern on at this place. The shrimp and grits were fantastic! I had greens and the jalapeno corn salad as my sides and they were huge. There is a lower rating on atmosphere just because it was incredibly noisy. BUT, it's in a dive that reminded me of restaurants I used to go to when I lived in Texas and Louisiana. The only menu option that was missing was fried okra, oh that and cornbread. They brag up their biscuits however 😉

Great food and service. Was told it would be a hour wait but thankfully was only 20 minutes. Fried Chicken was amazing. Chicken sandwich also amazing!

Deli
The Farmhouse Deli & Pantry is a bustling spot known for its top-notch deli offerings. The fresh and high-quality ingredients used in their sandwiches make it stand out as one of the best delis around. Despite the busy atmosphere, the food is definitely worth the wait. The variety of gluten-free options adds to its appeal, making it a delightful stop for lunch or breakfast.
We absolutely loved our experience at the Farmhouse Deli. The options and ingredients are top notch, and everything we tried was excellent. The Hot Shot, Turkey Club, Belly Buster, two deli salads, carrot cake pop, and a brownie. As someone who considers themselves a bit of a pulled pork connoisseur, I have to say the pulled pork in the Belly Buster was incredible, tender, flavorful, and perfectly done. Their homemade barbecue sauce is top notch as well. The service was just as memorable as the food. The gentleman behind the counter went above and beyond to help us navigate dietary restrictions and patiently handle what felt like 73 different requests. He was so kind and accommodating, and we are truly grateful for that level of service. Between the amazing food and the warm, thoughtful service, we cannot wait to come back!!

Pastrami and turkey Sandwiches were very good. Very nice selection of salads and proteins. Sauces and desserts and more. All looked good. Very friendly staff.
Dave V — Google review
We were traveling in the area and were looking for somewhere to stop for a sandwich. Fell upon this on Google and decided based on the ratings to give it a shot. Upon walking in, we were very pleasantly greeted and told the lady we were new here. She was very helpful, showing us the menu and providing some recommendations. As we approached the counter to order, our mouths started to salivate as we saw an array of beautifully homemade salads, which were unique, including a carrot curry, brussels sprouts, kale salad, and many others. We ordered the. Belly Buster sandwich, which had smoked pork and a few other ingredients. First of all, it was enormous and enough for at least two people to share. This was also one of the most unique sandwiches I’ve ever had, and it was fantastic. We also ordered the Muffetella sandwich and it was also very good, especially the bread which was homemade. We ordered a couple of different salads which I mentioned, and they were fantastic. Topped it off with a coconut macaroon and carrot cake, and this place got a home run. In fact, if lived in the area, I would be a regular.

What a pleasant surprise this place is! Great sandwiches! I tried the Cubano and it was delicious. The bread was perfect with a nice blend of meats, cheese and mustard. My wife had the BLT with no bacon substituted with white cheddar for her vegan tastes that was again delicious. The Carrot Cake is above all the other ones I’ve tried. Ours was carry out to sit at tables out back and enjoy a perfect late summer day with a perfect meal! Thank you to the chef and staff! Doing things right!!!

My boyfriend got the Cali Ruben and said it was delicious and well-balanced. I got the flank steak with cornbread and green beans - WOW, it blew my mind. That was the best cornbread we both have ever had. The green beans were cooked perfectly. The chicken tortilla soup and the vegan kale and turnip soup inspired us to make more soups this fall. Very friendly staff, and beautiful inside. Definitely stop here if you are in the area and want something healthy and delicious!

We love everything about Farmhouse Deli! We come for sandwiches every day were in town. We love the hummus wrap, turkey, and ham sandwiches. Their deli salads are the best and so are the desserts! Everything is fresh and served with a smile. They have the cutest outdoor spaces to enjoy their delicious food!
J J — Google review
I have never had a bad experience here. I love their cubano! But here’s the real thing: I am not gluten free. I love gluten. BUT — the GF double chocolate cake is quite possibly one of the— if not THE— best cakes I’ve ever had. Ever. It’s the cake I ask for every year on my birthday. TBH, the GF is better than the regular one!! If you are GF, get the GF double chocolate cake & thank me later.
Rachel L — Google review
Concept is there but execution could be better. First time in, ordered two sandwiches and a latte. As a customer, the mix of the food/market/coffee isn’t exactly clear of how to move about especially with high traffic during lunch time. I’m normally good in busy places but felt out of place and in the way. Stood by the coffee area waiting for a latte, and it never came after 20 minutes. I finally asked and the employee said, it probably got skipped, what’d you order? Overall, love the idea and hope it improves even with being a seemly successful business. So if it’s your first time, I recommend to go during a slow time and get the lay of the land. Share the sandwich and probably should try chocolate cake. Maybe skip the latte.

Restaurant
Pennyroyal Cafe & Provisions is a unique dining destination that offers an unforgettable experience with its seasonal dishes and house favorites available for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Chef Missy Corey, known for winning Food Network's show Chopped, utilizes local products from farmers and heirloom produce from her own farm in crafting the spectacular menu. The cafe also boasts a great ambiance with lovely outdoor seating and well-crafted drinks.
Pennyroyal Café & Provisions is a brunch lover’s dream! I had the English-style breakfast and it was absolutely delicious—perfectly cooked and full of flavor, definitely order the hash-browns! The Bloody Mary was one of the best I’ve had, balanced and bold. The latte was smooth and well-crafted, and the oatmeal cookie pie was so good I wish I had ordered more—sadly, they sold out fast (which says a lot!). They also have a tempting variety of fresh baked goods that looked amazing. Plenty of parking, including electric charging stations, made it really convenient. The service was excellent, and the ambience was spot on—charming, cozy, and perfect for a relaxing brunch. Can’t wait to come back!

This was our second time and Pennyroyal and we absolutely love it. The first time we went as a couple and this time with our kids. The patio is so whimsical- perfect place to start your day. We have enjoyed cocktails and NA beverages and both are so good. Food is full of flavor and I appreciate the use of local ingredients in some dishes. Definitely worth a visit when you’re in town!

Small eatery serving breakfast. Our waitress was friendly and informative when asked questions. She was a jokster which was very nice. Drinks were fantastic, food was even better. Only breakfast spot I could find that has Dutch Baby pancakes. Well worth the travel time to enjoy their beautiful little eatery.

The Deluxe and Johnnycakes were absolutely delicious! The hash browns and the corn cakes definitely stole the show! They have inside searing but I highly recommend to sear outside, is so relaxing, the staff and service was outstanding. This part of the review is a big heads up if you go, PLEASE be mindful and DRIVE SLOW through their parking. Is a gravel parking lot, I saw a lot of people hauling in and out, lifting this cloud of dust. Just think for a second if you would like that in your food! So slow down!! Local owned, local food, highly recommended to try it!!!

LOVE 🫶🏼 This place has the kind of food that’s down to earth but somehow feels fancy! The atmosphere outside is peaceful with mature trees, string, lights, and tons of seating with beautiful live music and some areas are even covered! The inside feels cozy and warm. Everything has a modern new chic feel to it. My server was fantastic and I would definitely recommend this place to anybody looking for a fantastic lunch/brunch place!

Fabulous creative food that was tasty. We went back numerous times on our vacation because there was so many things to try on the menu. Pretty reasonable prices also. We only eat dinner there so I can’t say what breakfast was like, but I did see the cinnamon buns they were making and smelled incredible.
Linda D — Google review
We had Saturday night dinner in October at Pennyroyal Café and Provisions. Although the evening was on the chillier side, we had reserved outdoor seating well in advance. When you arrive, the first impression is beautiful — a garden oasis with plenty of parking and a clear emphasis on sustainability (they have EV parking spaces.) Unfortunately, our experience began on a frustrating note. We checked in a few minutes early, were told our table wasn’t ready, and were advised we’d receive a text when it was available. We enjoyed a lovely glass of Pinot Noir in the small bar and market area while we waited, but after 15 minutes past our reservation time, we checked back in only to be told our table was still occupied. We had made this reservation over six months in advance as our honeymoon dinner, so it was disappointing that no accommodation could be made. At the 30-minute mark, we were finally seated and, in our opinion, one of the senior waitstaff handled the situation with a level of arrogance that set the tone poorly. The hostess, however, was kind and understanding, which we appreciated. Once seated, the food itself reminded us why Pennyroyal has such a reputation. We started with the poutine (with egg), poblano corn chowder, and tomato tart with garden salad and fennel. The tart and salad were the stars — perfectly balanced and beautifully executed. The chowder was a touch over-seasoned, and while the poutine was enjoyable, it lacked the depth or richness we’ve had elsewhere. For entrées, we had the braised short ribs and the “ham” pork chop. The short ribs were cooked perfectly, though the flavor profile leaned more toward a summer barbecue than the deeper, wine-based preparation we prefer. The pickled crispy onions were unexpected but well-made. The pork chop, on the other hand, was outstanding — tender, flavorful, and complemented by creamy mashed potatoes and a delicious creamed spinach sauce. The carrots were slightly al dente for our taste, but overall, it was a beautiful and well-executed dish. Overall: The food and setting at Pennyroyal are five-star worthy — thoughtful, seasonal, and beautifully presented. However, the lack of hospitality and inflexibility with our reservation diminished what could have been a perfect experience. Still, it’s a restaurant worth considering when in Saugatuck, especially if you appreciate creative cuisine and sustainable practices — just be prepared for a place that knows its worth.

Loved this little coffee shop. We had drinks and snacks each day for our Valentine's weekend. Service and drinks were good. I loved the uncommon lemonade. It was different each time, and that made it better. There isn't much room inside to sit down, but if you get a seat, it is a great atmosphere.

Awesome coffee spot in Saugatuck! Great coffee and pastries with a nice choice of breakfast sandwiches. The pesto sandwich has a nice, subtle flavor. Comfortable chairs and tables to set up and chat with a friend or study. Great vibe with chilled coffee house music and relaxed vibe!

Came here on a Saturday morning around 11 AM. There was a long line! It went pretty quick though. I got a hot drip coffee and wasn’t very impressed. It was bitter, even with added cream. Maybe their lattes are better!

At this point I have a photo album in my phone dedicated solely to Uncommon. These folks are actually craftspeople, the quality is insane! I have no idea how they do it, but this is actually the BEST shop I've ever been to in my life. But the drinks and food are only half of it, the other part goes to the staff and atmosphere. There's not a single coffee shop I've been to that has this high of a level of connection between pretty much everyone. The baristas and staff are always so happy and willing to chat it up, and this seems to seep into the community of folks that stop in from Saugatuck or surrounding areas, whether they're seasoned regulars or new visitors. I really believe the world needs more spaces like this, coffee shop or otherwise. Uncommon is such a treat, and I'm so grateful I live close enough to visit so often 💖 also, huge shout-out to Jenna for her suggestion on those charcoal tablets, homegirl saved my stomach!

Absolutely delicious coffee. Some of the best I have had. The inside is very cute and cozy for sitting and enjoying a morning pastry and coffee. Even the decaf was good.

A must-try spot to grab a cup of coffee in the morning! Just be aware that there will almost always be a long line to wait, especially during the peak season. I don’t mind the wait, but we saw a few folks get out of line because they were so annoyed. Coffee is a reasonable price, the breakfast sandwiches are pretty overpriced, though. $12 for a breakfast sandwich is wild. We particularly appreciated the discounted baked goods (50% off of baked goods from the day prior).

My wife and I LOVED this place during our first visit to Saugatuck. Definitely a highlight of the trip and one of our favorite coffee shops we've ever been to. The drinks were all spot on, the service was super friendly (even at the crack of dawn), the baked goods and Sandwhiches were fresh and amazing. The branding on their coffee bags is sick. Gladly brought a few home for family to enjoy. Thanks to their team for making our trip so great. There was a particular staff member who also works at the book store - shoutout to them for being stellar at their job. Can't wait to go back!

THE coffee shop in Saugatuck in any season. Solid drinks, food, & pastries in a cozy and very busy space. We whiled away a rainy October afternoon here, watching the world pass by. We've also dropped in during the height of summer when everyone was caffeinating for long, languorous days on the beach. Either way, a must when in town.

Marro's Italian Restaurant is a long-standing establishment that has been serving traditional Italian cuisine since 1971. The restaurant features a seasonal menu and an extensive wine selection, making it a popular choice for fine dining. With its white tablecloths and framed photos, the restaurant exudes an authentic Italian ambiance. Guests can enjoy specialty desserts and even create their own pizza from the menu.
The food and service were excellent! I recommend the cheese ravioli. Two of us got it and they were large ravioli that appeared to be homemade. I liked the marinara sauce. The spaghetti was good as well. The garlic rolls were SO good! I also had a good red sangria. Our server was very nice and took good care of us. We stayed in another town, but enjoyed Saugatuck and driving past the pretty lake. Parking was on the street but was free. We will definitely eat at Marro's again if we return to the area.

We stumbled across this place on our travels and saw it had good reviews so we figured we would give it a shot. Showed up a couple minutes after it opened and it was packed. Luckily, the wait was only about 15 minutes because some locals were saying the wait can be an hour or even two hours on a normal night. The restaurant was nice and the servers were very attentive. We absolutely loved the cheesy garlic bread with side of marinara! It was delicious and the dough so good! We weren’t overly impressed by the pastas we picked which were the baked penne and the chicken parmigiana. No complaints as the food was cooked well, the flavors just didn’t give us anything to write home about. I’m sure for the area, it is one of the top places around and we would be interested in coming back, the food just didn’t really wow us.

Great place for a fancier sit down! Food was delicious and was decently quick to come out. A little pricey but not too bad for the area. 4 Stars because its took quite a while for our server to come out each time. But I definitely recommend!

So disappointed we came here for a special listed outside and were told after ordering that they were out. Food was just ok. Kind of a poor first time experience, but our waitress was incredible.

I mean, like just take a look at this. This is like the best food in the world. It’s so amazing and these guys Bill Mark and Bob took a family here. Everyone that you see here is Frank everyone you see her is amazing the piano guy when I walked in was singing live music. The people at the front desk were amazing. It is just like outstanding here I mean, even the atmosphere with the wine and the candle and the great food and you must try everything at the menu honest to God when you come here this is the only place I would ever come back to you. God bless everybody, but this is the best.

Fabulous food. Our waiter was amazing. Mr in the spot with our drinks. Collin is his name. Great guy. Do not get the ravioli. So terrible. Not! The only problem is I could eat 50 lbs of it.

Marro’s Italian Restaurant has fabulous food and a great atmosphere. Very friendly staff as well, check it out before it closes for the season the last Saturday in September.

I've been going to Morro's for many years. It's always been fantastic. We went last Saturday night and I ordered the Lasagna. I had never tried it before but at least this time it was so salty I couldn't eat it. My wife loved her meal and the Garlic Rolls were delicious as always. I'll go back but I'll pass on the Lasagna next time.

Breakfast restaurant
Ida Red's Cottage has been a beloved spot in Saugatuck since 1986, offering a warm and homey atmosphere for breakfast and lunch. Located on Water Street, this cozy eatery is known for its friendly service and diverse menu, featuring everything from omelets to steak and eggs to fresh fruit bowls. The covered outdoor seating adds to the charm of this Saugatuck staple.
This place is the basics done right. Prices were fantastic and the food was great! The menu is fairly simple and classic but both the ingredients and the preparation were perfect. I had a better breakfast here than I've had in ages and it was less than half what I would pay at any new age brunch place. The scrambles, pancakes and breakfast sandwhich were all amazing. I very much doubt you could go wrong here.

We live in Saugatuck and enjoy going for brunch occasionally. We recommend the cornmeal pancakes and blueberry muffins. The omlet/scrambles are fantastic. The winter hours significantly reduce their schedule (open Friday thru Sunday). Because it is so popular, in the summertime, you will have to wait to get in. The location, is right across the street from the water, and in summer there is lots of activity and the town is filled with love and romance. Great place to come with your loved ones. Food here is great. Must go even if you have to wait....it's worth it.
HONEY — Google review
We were staying nearby (iykyk), and like most hidden gems we found this place because the place we planned to go had an hour long wait. So we ended up here got sat right away and had the most peaceful relaxing breakfast on the porch. The food was delicious but im simple I had the two eggs two sausage meal. My ONLY comment was the Cottage Fries are actually chips and for the life of me scrambled eggs and potato chips . I just couldn't do it. But the stagg was kind enough to bring me a paper bag to.take them with me for later and they were great at lunch time. So if you're in the area skip the obvious option. Also my grandmother's name was Ida.

A bustling space when it’s busy, and a reasonable wait for food since it is from scratch, but it was well worth it. The pancakes were divine. It felt and tasted like you were having breakfast at grandmas. Seating at the bar/counter is first come first serve, which worked out swimmingly for my husband and I. Reasonably priced, as well, for great quality food.

Cannot comment on food. We didn't get that far. We were there on a girls trip. GMA, mom and adult daughter. You came recommended to us so we walked through town to try. We expected a wait , put our name on list , told 25-30 min. Still fine. After writing name down my daughter was feeling faint in the heat and asked for a glass of water. The lady rudely, said I already let her slide (lady sitting next to counter with drink in hand) we don't do to go drinks. We weren't going, we were already on list looking forward to trying your establishment. A simple glass of water to keep from fainting....we did not ask for a milk shake or something out of the ordinary and would have paid for water if asked. We quietly left in disbelief and crossed the street where she was given some water ( before they even opened as they saw her in need) and we stayed for lunch . Simple human kindness goes a long way . If I am being honest I hope you never find yourself in need of a simple kindness that you cannot receive.
Susan B — Google review
The food was delicious, the waitress was friendly. Then everything went south. They wouldn't split the check when asked but didn't tell us that was the policy. I had said at the table when ordering that I was paying for three of the meal, but she must not had heard me. The cashier had an attitude and was extremely rude on the whole situation. I was paying with cash, so I put $60 on the counter and said keep the change for your inconvenience, apologized and left. I will never return.

Definitely a gem not to be missed! Ida Red's is a delight of a place. The local diner feel you're looking for with great food, great portions and all at a value price. This is the place in town to go get full!

The Mitten Brewing Company in Saugatuck, Mi, is a charming vintage baseball-style mini brewery that offers a unique selection of beers and gourmet pizzas. It's an ideal spot for gathering with friends and family. The outdoor seating area provides a cute setting to enjoy their excellent pizza, or you can take it to the nearby park by the river. This dog-friendly establishment offers a relaxed atmosphere and a variety of beer options, including the refreshing Mango Colada.
Got the pickle cheese bread which was great, so many pickles. Then we split the pizza flight- mediterranean, bee sting, brotherly love and bbq pork. Wow the pizza was spot on - chewy crust, great flavor - we couldn't decide which pizza was our favorite. Enjoyed the beer and sangria as well.

Here's the deal, folks. This staff is friendly and amazing. Also, That's one hell of a pretzel. I love pretzels, and it's top 5 in the nation. Order with Ranch, ask for three Ranches and thank me later. If you get the cheese, have it warmed. Delicious. Pizzas. Solid pizza situation. I recommend the meats and banana peppers. You can't go wrong. Sit on the patio. It's nice outside. After all, it's Michigan. Grab a picnic table, enjoy a local beer, get a pretzel and a pizza, and be grateful that you only spent under $100. Boom.

My husband and I visited here for dinner one night while on a weekend trip to Saugatuck. It was a great experience! My husband loved the two beers he had (one cider, and the peanut Cracker Jack porter). We also loved the pizza and cheesy bread. We had the curse of the goat and brick house bee sting pizzas. We got the pizza flight and split those two flavors. Drew was our server and he was extremely helpful and friendly. So glad we stopped in and wishing this restaurant the best!

Loved it. The beer was yummy. The pizza was out of this world. The huge soft pretzel was great. I’m not a fan of cold cheese dip but it was still tasty. The kids could run around outside and no one really cared. Only negative was that the bartender didn’t offer us a sampler platter (beer flight) or any bigger sizes for the social district. All in all great place, would return tomorrow. Recommend sending someone ahead of time to wait for a table! It was busy!!!

Fun spot to get some flights of beer. Great drafts, fun design inside, gorgeous patio and the friendliest staff here. The staff member who helped us order was patient, he asked us about our visit, chatted with us while we constructed our flights, he was super personable and fun, and that made the experience all the more memorable. We loved the beers and ciders we tried. I’d recommend you try their sangria and seltzer too. We didn’t try any food.

The Butler is a historic restaurant in Saugatuck, offering American cuisine and fresh seafood with a view of the harbor. Established in 1961, it has become a landmark in downtown Saugatuck, providing an intimate and romantic dining experience. The cozy environment and waterfront views make it an ideal spot for a date night or special occasion. Guests can enjoy their meals indoors or on the outdoor deck while taking in the scenic surroundings.
The outdoor seating of the restaurant is a treat. You get a nice view of the lake and some of the cool boats and yachts. The food tastes great as well and even better when paired with the scenery. The pretzel bites appetizers were warm and soft and served with cheese and honey mustard. The fish and chips were nice and hot out of the fryer as well. The pretzel burger was gigantic in size and very tasty and paired with some truffle french fries. I would visit this place whenever I visited saugatuck because of the nice views of the outdoor seating and great food to enjoy it with.

We sat at the 2-story outside seating venue and it was awesome. The views are great no matter where you sit. We were on the 2nd story. Walleye was really fishy, had walleye the next day at a different restaurant and it was much better.

We came for lunch on a weekday and sat in the lower outdoor area. Our food was very good, our server was helpful and friendly, and looking out at boats on a sunny day was sublime. Prices are competitive given the location and type of restaurant. Only two downsides, music had us having to repeat ourselves quite a bit because of the volume. And while appetizers came quickly, our meals took over half an hour.
David B — Google review
Great location tucked away right on the marina. We sat on the patio as it was a beautiful day. I had the "Famous Butler Burger" with housemade kettle chips, also comes with a pickle. The housemade kettle chips are one of the best that I've ever had at a restaurant, I also had a taste of the fries, which were great as well. The burger was delicious, and I really enjoyed the black forest ham on it. Everything was cooked to perfection, absolutely would return!

My partner and I came to this place over the weekend, while visiting the area and after reading many raving reviews. If the party is not large, you cannot make reservations on Open Table. Since we were a small party of two, we walked in and gave them our name. They put us in the system, said the wait would be an hour to an hour and thirty minutes. I was mind blown by the hostess time estimate because they called us within an hour and seven minutes. The place reminds me of Krusty Krab in SpongeBob, it’s wooden paneling and dark décor. The service was okay, I wish our waiter would have been a tiny bit more attentive. You cannot tell me you’re that busy to have runners deliver the food and to check up on the table every so often (before @ me, he was not that busy and the place was not that busy). As for Appetizer, we had crab stuffed mushrooms, they were watery with a great amount of cheese on top. I would have opted-in for a breadcrumb top rather than cheese. My partner has to finish the App. For Entrée, I had the Horseradish Peppercorn Burger, it was very flavorful and cooked as recommended – medium. The side, sweet potatoes, were so stale and overcooked, it seemed like they were out all day and the cooks refried them. (again, do not @ me, I worked at Arby’s back in my prime, so I know a stale, overcooked, recooked fry). My partner had the Southwestern Salad with grilled “over seasoned” chicken and missing black beans with a grand amount of red onion. Overall, no, I did not like this place and would not recommend this place to anyone visiting the area. I wish the company all the best in their success.
Daniella L — Google review
I was really excited to eat and get drinks here because of the view. The view is phenomenal but I was really dissatisfied with the quality of the food. We ordered the crab stuffed mushroom caps which were served in a hot pan on a plate. The cheese was melted and stuck to the pan so we had a hard time scraping it off the bottom. The grease from the cheese was super thick and drowned the entire dish. For drinks we ordered the watermelon margarita which was $15. It tasted very watered down and like cheap watermelon flavoring. For $15 I was very disappointed and wish I had given my business elsewhere. We ordered the blood orange IPA beer which tasted amazing but it was served in a tiny plastic wine cup. Being charged $12 for a small plastic cup of beer was ridiculous. 2 drinks and a tiny appetizer should not cost $50 out the door. The only thing that impressed me and my partner (executive chef) on the menu was the raspberry goat cheese pizza which was unique. The service was nice and we were served our drinks quickly with our food.
Sarah F — Google review
My friend and I sat at the bar and Becca took amazing care of us. She made us our drinks, both were tasty. Hands down some of the best and most friendly service. We were extremely happy with our food. We started out with the street corn bruschetta . Let me tell you the flavors were amazing. The candied jalapeños with pickled red onions were the chefs kiss! We each ordered a different pizza, her the brisket ;which she enjoyed. I ordered the raspberry goat. Mine was the perfect amount of sweet and savory, simply delicious. We both got Cesar salads the half portion which was a good portion. We ordered desserts as well . We tried the peach cobbler cheesecake and flourless chocolate torte, both were fantastic! I will definitely come back . Just everything the music and vibes as well as the service surpassed all my expectations!

We got to sit outside, even with a ton of bees on the flowers nothing bothered us. Was able to swap for a veggie burger on any listed burger it was really good. Great cocktails too.

Best restaurant in Saugatuck! Not on the water, but a good view of the water if you sit outside (along with good people watching). Food is quality and delicious. And staff are super friendly and helpful. Grilled chicken sandwich was tasty and not dry. Pasta was delicious. And sweet potato fries were outstanding. We'll definitely be back.

Wicks Park Bar and Grill has a fun, relaxed atmosphere and is a great spot to hang out for a casual meal. Our waitress, Noel, was absolutely awesome—friendly, attentive, and on top of everything. She really made the experience enjoyable. The seating was surprisingly comfy, which made it easy to kick back and stay a while. As for the food, it was decent—nothing bad, but nothing particularly memorable either. Solid bar fare with a few bright spots, but it didn’t quite knock our socks off. Still, the service and vibe more than made up for it. Great place for drinks with friends or a laid-back lunch. We’d definitely come back, especially if Noel’s working again! 4 stars for great service and comfort.

Came to the restaurant with an appetite, was disappointed with my sandwich, I ordered a french dip the meat was unfortunately unseasoned but worse the dip was missing seasoning. I don’t think it had any salt :( my girlfriend had fish tacos and they where great! Good service for how busy it was.

We visited early ish on a Friday, and they had the outdoor seating we wanted. I believe Morgan was our server, and she was very attentive, and answered our questions. Our food came out pretty quickly, and though I was a bit overwhelmed at the size of my dish, it was all very well prepared. Flaky fish, and plump shrimp. Definitely handy to where we were staying, and the water. We enjoyed ourselves!

Service was slow. Atmosphere is nice. Food looks like it will be good but really is ok at best. Kids Mac and cheese was dry microwaved Kraft? With shredded cheese on top. Hot chicken sandwich was terrible. Tuna melt was bland. I will not be returning.

Great place and great atmosphere, friendly staff! We dine in on 5 July 2024 as we wanted to see the fireworks. Recommended mom and brother to come here due to the first 2 visit that we had our lunch at here was great! We understood that night was busy and crowded. We put in reservation and waited for about 30 minutes to get a table. Ordered our food and waited for another 40 minutes to arrive. To our disappointment, the hamburger that we ordered were much smaller although the waitress ensured that it was the same size. Half pounder felt like quarter pounder. If you refer to the last 4 pictures from our past visit. We gonna try another time and see what happens, we don't want to give up yet.
Wright C — Google review
I ordered the mac and cheese with the crispy chicken strip on top. Expensive but very very delicious. The wife ordered the French dip sandwich minus the cheese. The meat was very flavorful and still moist. Even though it was shaved. The OSU was tasty. The bread was crispy and yet still soft. We also got a pizza to go. Cheese only looks delicious. Smells delicious. They use just mozzarella which is perfect. Housemaid sauce. I got a chocolate martini little heavy on the vodka but tasted great. The wife got Trainwreck which has a house made rum punch in it. She loved it. Overall, this place is expensive in comparison to typical restaurants outside of the tourist area. But very typical pricing for this area which is a more touristy area. We spent about $90 with another $20 for tip. So about $110 bill for two meals, two drinks and a pizza to go.

Borrowed Time is a family-friendly restaurant housed in a charming 19th-century Victorian house, offering a delightful outdoor patio and an impressive selection of reasonably priced wines by the glass. The menu features locally sourced ingredients prepared with artistic flair, including shared small plates and delectable dishes like BBQ pizza. Guests can also enjoy specialty wines, craft beers, and tempting desserts. The share plate experience allows diners to savor various flavors while fostering easy conversation at the table.
The atmosphere is great, but it belies an evaluated menu with unique flavors and great ingredients. My wife, who is gluten-free and vegetarian had her choice of several options, including a mushroom steak with red lentils. Small shareable and entres are available, including specials. My pork chop, on special, was one of the best I've had. A large selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are available.
Adam C — Google review
We were recommended by our server from Duck Alley to check out Borrowed Time in Douglas, MI which is right by Saugatuck. The menu looked good so we were excited to try. Started off with a mezcal-based drink as well as some deviled eggs which today’s filling also had miso in there. The butternut squash soup had the perfect texture and was rich and creamy. The duck egg fried rice had a little Korean flare with the kimchi adding some kick. My favorite dish that we tried though was the seared pork belly. It lightly sweet from the cider braising and asian coleslaw pairing. The cider glazed carrots were wonderfully roasted and a great pairing for the rest of the more carb heavy dishes. For dessert, I went with their shared plate the strawberry tart since I wasn’t looking for one profile of something just sweet. The tart had savory goat cheese which is what I was looking for. The carrot cake and the chocolate pudding were also favorites of the table and a solid meal overall.

Wonderful experience! The food was so well thought out, presented, and tasted superb. I do have a soft spot for tapas (small plates) style restaurants because the conversation at the table comes so easily when you’re sharing the same bites of food. This restaurant did all of their dishes exceptionally well. Our favorites were the mushroom larb, roasted beets, and the olive cake with blueberries. Their menu sounds like it changes frequently so put this on your list to come back again and again. I know I will! Also, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable, the atmosphere was very pleasant, and the restrooms were clean.

Awesome food and atmosphere. Slow service but still friendly. We had a bigger group and two dogs with us. They are dog friendly only on the 1st floor patio. The food was really good here, everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed their meal. This place was very busy and we had to wait 45 minutes for a table, but it was worth the wait. The fried fish and fried chicken that we had were cooked in the same corn meal batter, which was so good. We will definitely return on our next trip to Saugatuck.

Food was pretty good although nothing special and a bit overpriced. I don’t recommend the alligator bites. Our server was very good but the fact we had 5 in our party seemed to throw them off for some reason. Outside bar that faces inside toward the tables has gotta go. It makes things a bit awkward if you’re seated at a table that bar is facing. You’re paying for the view and atmosphere so if you go in with that expectation and don’t mind paying the advertised prices then you won’t be disappointed.

It’s right on the water where the boats come in so that’s quite nice. Service was friendly but quite slow. The food is ok or miss. The ahi tuna salad was ok, decent portion, good mix of greens, but not very good quality tuna. The blackened mahi was not blackened at all and also not fresh. Chicken tenders were a huge portion of pretty dry breast meat it seems. Fries were pretty good though. The key lime pie was half good and half overbaked. Everything was quite pricey without being very tasty. But I guess you pay for the ambience.

Great food and very good service. We got the Aha Tuna Poke for the appetizer, and Mahi & Shrimp Tqcos w/ a margarita pizza for the main course. It was all delicious and I highly recommend. We stopped in here for a late lunch but still early enough to order from the lunch menu. We were seated and served quickly. The food was delicious and the atmosphere is dark (in a good way), colorful, and fun! Very Day of the Dead! The enchilada sauce was almost sweet, which sounds strange, but it was delicious! We were glad we stopped in! The restroom appears to be shared with a neighboring restaurant so it was a little tricky to find, but it was clean. After lunch we explored the Butler street area, which was fun. A great location!

We stopped here after an afternoon of roaming around saugatuck. The food was mediocre but we were starving and ate it! It’s what you expect from a Mexican place in a small tourist city. It came out hot and looked good. I had the chimichangas. But made the mistake of getting the ground beef. It was okay. My husband had the Verda enchiladas. He really liked them. The woman that helped serve us was exceptional. She was great and attentive. Maybe the chimichanga was an exception to their food. Again my husband loved his.

Best value in Saugatuck. Food is on par with many other Mexican restaurants throughout Michigan and further. And the prices are as well. Standard menu very good but not spectacular. I had the shrimp fajitas and would have actually preferred to have the shrimp and vegetables charred more. But I was very hungry and forgot to take a picture before I started eating. Again this would normally merit a 4 star rating, but it seems to be the only restaurant that the prices aren't jacked up for the short travel season that most Saugatuck establishments go by.

A great find in downtown for authentic Mexican food! We visited (unknowingly) on the night of the Venetian festival concert across the street, and the service was incredible even during an extremely busy event. The waiter made recommendations for our order that were extremely delicious. Would visit again in a heartbeat!

We docked our boat at the public access a block from this restaurant in lovely Saugatuck, Michigan. I have been here before and recalled enjoying it the first time. Dinner tonight was absolutely delicious. My three companions and I each loved our different dishes. Fresh and flavorful. This is such a cute place in a cute town with lovely outdoor dining space. My only thought is that the patio dining area needs sweeping- but not a huge deal. It won’t stop me from coming back! Update! July 2024 - last summer, I thought the food was the best Mexican food I’ve ever had. Now it’s just good - but the service improved so overall they’re still at the same score!

Not the greatest experience. Stale chips, sweet salsa, a bad margarita and the fajita quesadilla was not only gross to look at, but gross to eat. A plastic looking “cheese” was slathered on top and made the meal look unappetizing. Only good thing was the rice.

Great martini. My fiance had the dragons milk old fashioned. Kept saying, it's really really good. Stop in if you get the chance. Worth the visit.

Just stopped into the New Holland Spirits tasting room in Saugatuck and had a fantastic experience. This spot is absolutely worth a visit if you’re anywhere near the area — especially if you’re into craft spirits or hard-to-find bourbons. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, and the staff behind the bar really know their stuff. I had a few pours of their higher-end bourbons — things you can’t just find on a store shelf — and I was genuinely impressed. Deep flavor, good complexity, and clearly made with care. I also appreciated that they had several tasting-room-only bottles available. These aren’t widely distributed, so it was cool to get access to something exclusive. I ended up picking up two bottles of bourbon and a tasting glass as a souvenir. They even had a sign-up for their email list, which I joined on the spot — I want to make sure I get notified about future special releases or B Club offerings. The staff was friendly, the pours were generous, and overall the experience felt personalized without being pretentious. Whether you’re new to bourbon or a seasoned hunter, you’ll find something here that stands out. I’d definitely come back the next time we’re in Saugatuck. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in town — whether you’re looking to sip something special, grab a bottle to go, or just enjoy the laid-back tasting room vibe.

Fantastic creative craft cocktails along with traditional great old fashioned drinks. I ordered the cocktail flight- fantastic deal! Very cozy comfortable atmosphere to relax and unwind for good conversation and cheers! Thanks Beau for the recommendations and great cocktails- you were very helpful! P.S. the jazz music was a great touch that added to the vibe. Very welcoming and friendly!

New Holland Distilling in Saugatuck is a cool little spot that's definitely worth a visit. They offer a wide variety of creative cocktails, all featuring New Holland's own spirits. While they don’t have their beers on tap here, the focus on their spirits makes for a unique tasting experience. You can also purchase bottles to take home, which is a nice bonus. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the overall atmosphere even more enjoyable. Great place to stop in for a drink while exploring Saugatuck!

What a great little spot. We stopped in on a Wednesday afternoon and were the only people here. The bartender was nice and gave us a few other spots in the area that were worth visiting. We both ordered a cocktail and thought they were really good. I would recommend stopping in here as there's some creative cocktails on the list and there is probably something for everything, including NA drinks. We would have loved to sit and try a few more, but we still had quite a bit of driving ahead of us, so that wasn't in the cards.

After coming from a terrible dinner, we saw this place and thought, let's get a drink and it looked really cool! The bartender was great, he made me a rum punch that was not on the menu and my husband got the Painkiller. Both were delicious!! Mine was the pink drink. Very friendly and a great find! Thanks for salvaging our evening.

I’m past years we’ve taken our two little dogs and sat on the patio (actually two tables in the street). Was ordering two cocktails this year and the bartender told us they don’t allow dogs in the patio. He offered that drinks could be ordered to go. I didn’t want to walk and drink a cocktail. That’s fine. I respect rules. I would suggest that the new no pet policy be posted. We are last year in Holland at the brewery on the patio and dogs were allowed. Great cocktails. They just didn’t get our business today.
Roy J — Google review
Excellent cocktails and a pretty good selection. I believe there were 16 - 20 different concoctions to choose from when I went. Their liquor is bottled as well so you can buy some to go. Staff is friendly. Little bit of a wait for the drink when ordered, but that is because of the care they take in making them. Reasonably priced.

Mermaid Bar & Grill is a family-owned, full-service restaurant in Saugatuck that offers a casual dining experience with a primo waterfront spot on the Kalamazoo River. The eatery specializes in seafood and also offers some delicious red meat options. With patio seating overlooking passing boats, it's the perfect place to enjoy fresh fish, coconut shrimp, mussels, and an amazing piece of fresh walleye while soaking up the riverside atmosphere.
We stopped here for lunch because they allowed dogs. We ate outside under an umbrella. Everything we ordered was very good from the clam chowder to the fish and chips and jambalaya. Big portions. The restaurant was pretty busy but we got our food at a decent time. Would definitely come back.

My visit to the Mermaid Bar and Grill in Saugatuck, MI, was a memorable experience. The location itself is fantastic, with a beautiful marina, boardwalk, and a stunning sunset view that adds to the charm of the place. However, I was a bit disappointed with the limited fish options on the menu, and my initial choice of halibut was unavailable. This happened again with my second choice. However, the server recommended the fresh cod fish, which I usually don't prefer, but it turned out to be exceptionally fresh and delicious. What truly impressed me was the server's friendly attitude, explaining that they prioritize serving only fresh fish, even if it means running out of certain options. I wholeheartedly agree with this approach. To start, we had the Calamari, which was cooked to perfection, and the drinks, while enjoyable, were on the pricier side. However, the dessert, the pumpkin cheesecake, was a delightful way to end the meal. Overall, the Mermaid Bar and Grill offers a great atmosphere, and their commitment to serving fresh seafood makes it a worthwhile dining destination.

I took my daughter there to celebrate her birthday. Last year we had excellent food & service. We thought we’d try it again. What a price hike and disappointing meals. We waited extra long for our meals and were told it was taking longer because they were training a new cook. We were OK with that but when our food came out, we were quite surprised they were basic meals and certainly should not have taken as long as I did. However, my veggie bowl was extremely greasy and small. Our crudite was old veggies, some sort of soggy cauliflower in the hummus had oil poured over it. My daughters jerk chicken was very overpriced and they used canned pineapple. Our server was sweet and uncomfortable when she came up to the table and told us they were training a new cook. However, we tipped her very well for her time and service. Not sure if we will give this place another try or suggest it to anyone. Very overpriced and unappealing food.
Julie R — Google review
Mermaid is all outdoor seating at the moment which was great, because we got a table by the water. The service was excellent. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful. The food is over-priced but good. We paid as much for an appetizer as we did for an entre. It's nice to try once, but I wouldn't come back, because it's over-priced for what you get.
Suzanne C — Google review
The calamari and mermaid roll was excellent! Lot of good seafood options. Very friendly staff and lovely atmosphere. Perfect spot for a girls night. Long wait times in the weekend but worth it if you plan ahead, put your name in the waitlist and go for a stroll around town until your table's ready.
Athira — Google review
The Mermaid was recommended to us, and we're thrilled that we decided to stop in. We had lunch, lunch, and dinner here the past 30-hours. The outdoor dining is incredible - right along the Kalamazoo River in the sun and with a great breeze. The cocktails are delicious, and the best one - the Rum Runner - is half off during their happy hour. The blackberry brandy is what makes it so good. All of the food we had was good, but the standout for me was the Salmon BLT - I had it both days.
Ted W — Google review
Due to social distancing requirements our whole party of 9 couldn’t sit together, which made things a little awkward. Our server also seemed overwhelmed by the amount of tables she had to service on top of our large party being split up among 3 different tables. The food is great though! The pot of gold appetizer was really tasty. We wish the coconut shrimp came with a fruitier dipping sauce, instead of just the standard cocktail sauce. We had the catch of the day (monk fish) and it was really tasty! Great views right by the water.
Adri T — Google review
Came here for lunch in June. Riverfront seating is what drew us here. Service was good, food well-prepared, but a little overpriced. Ceviche was 'ok', and somewhat bland- but mahi mahi tacos, and fish & chips were done well and tasty.

We - a group of 5 guys who come from Chicago and NYC each year to Saugutuck for a reunion - and we make a regular daily visit. i mention the locations we come from because the food expectations are high. pumpernickel’s became a go-to because of this. This year, the visit to Pumpernickel’s was different but still excellent. the menu is different but still very good. if you come for the old menu, try the new stuff. it’s tasty! the service is still excellent! but no pancakes :(the dinner menu looks great too and we will try it soon)

Pumpernickels has been in Saugatuck for a while now, but it seems to have changed a bit since the last time I visited. It feels like a fancier place now, but the food is still good and prices aren’t too high. I got breakfast there on this visit, and I settled on the corned beef hash after a brief discussion with my server. It was a good choice, and the meal was excellent. The corned beef was delicious and there were enough vegetables in there to stay interesting. It was a lot of food too, so I felt it was a good value for the money. My server was quite attentive and seemed nice, and the place itself feels inviting. While perhaps not my favorite breakfast joint in Saugatuck, it is a good choice nonetheless. It’s certainly worth a try.

Perfect bites to share with friends and most unique with delicious flavor proving little bites don't have to have little flavor. This was the perfect spot to have a little something to eat and drink when first arriving in town and before a bigger meal. There are opportunities to linger a little longer with bocce and other lawn games.

This place is awesome! The new menu is amazing! Deep fried perogies were so awesome, steak dish is perfect. My wife had the best swordfish in her life she said. The absolute best part was seeing the chef come out and speak to all the tables. He is extremely knowledgeable and very funny. The last of a dying breed anymore. Overall, new top spot in town!

Allison is absolutely amazing. She greeted us outside while we were looking at the menu. When we said we were just looking, she said, "Well, hopefully you'll be back!". After looking at lots of other places, we came back and are so glad we did. Everything was awesome. I loved watching her greet people coming in, while making drinks & serving everyone with a smile. The food was great, too (could have used more Naan bread, though) and the atmosphere was lovely. I really enjoyed the playlist, too. Awesome place- keep doing what you're doing.

We had the perfect seats, overlooking the street. The presentation was incredible. They even use real cloth napkins, and real silverware. The fruit was impeccable in presentation. The Reuben was the best we have ever had. The corn beef is pulled every morning, not sliced. It was the perfect consistency and flavor. Everything about our experience was perfect. We will definitely continue to go to this restaurant. You will love it!

Wally's Bar & Grill is a popular hangout in the heart of Saugatuck, known for its relaxed atmosphere and delicious comfort food. The dive-like environment is clean and organized, with random decor on the walls adding to its charm.
My wife had a Burger and Onion Rings, they were both excellent. I had the wet burrito, I was disappointed. The burrito sauce or tomato sauce just did not have any flavor. I heard the perch platter was excellent. We will go back for sure.Sports Bar atmosphere, and some outdoor tables a plus for me.

Don't go here please read. We're here visiting on vacation & stop by Wallys for lunch. We sat outside & it was a beautiful sunny day. We adjusted the umbrella over the table as to block to sun & one of the employees charged the table aggressively & said we couldn't adjust the umbrella per the owner. What happened to good customer service?? When we said we didn't want to sit in full sun she said, byyyeee, just bad customer service but, we found the Butler restaurant that was amazing!! Great food & great customer service. Avoid Wallys go to the Butler instead!!

Bowdies Chophouse is a distinguished steakhouse and fine dining experience located in Saugatuck. Since its establishment in 2014, Bowdies has been known for its premium steaks, fresh seafood, and wide selection of wine served in an inviting setting. It's the perfect place to enjoy expertly prepared steaks and creative cocktails while relaxing on the outdoor patio. The restaurant is highly regarded for consistently delivering delectable steaks without trying to be something it's not.
Bowdies Chophouse delivered an excellent dining experience overall! My absolute favorites were the Dirty Martini—perfectly made—and the wedge salad, which was crisp, flavorful, and beautifully presented. We ordered the ribeye, and it was cooked to perfection—carved tableside by our charming and attentive waiter, which added a special touch. The horseradish sauce is a must—elevates the steak to the next level. For sides, the potatoes au gratin were incredible—rich, cheesy, and perfectly baked. The creamed spinach, however, missed the mark for me—too watery (1/5). The crab cake appetizer was just okay (2/5), not bad but not memorable. Service was phenomenal from start to finish—attentive, professional, and friendly. A great spot for a special night out, and I’d definitely come back for the steak, salad, and martinis!

Haven’t been to this location in quite some time. Had 5pm Reservations this past Sunday. We were seated in the upstairs part of the Restaurant. Very cozy and quiet. Lea was our Server, she was so nice and friendly and was always there when we needed her. We started with the Shrimp Cocktail. Lea warned us that the Cocktail sauce had a kick, and it did not disappoint! Great Shrimp with strong Horseradish flavor in the sauce. We both ordered Steak which was perfectly cooked/seasoned.We shared the Au Gratin Potatoes and the Creamed Spinach which was plenty for two people to share. We had the Red Velvet Cheesecake for dessert, which was a perfect ending to the meal. We were celebrating a Birthday and really enjoyed ourselves! Thank you Lea! 😃

Awesome experience for an expensive dinner out on the town at Bowdie’s. Got this place recommended by multiple locals, so had to check it out. We had Ryanne as our server and they did a phenomenal job! Very attentive, friendly, and provided great service through a slow, not rushed dinner. Drinks were good and food came out quick. We had the grilled ceasar salad, 10oz fillet, brussel sprouts, and a gratin potatoes. Everything was quite yummy. Steak was cooked perfectly (medium rare). We even got a free dessert since we’re on our honeymoon! The red velvet cheesecake was decadent. Recommend a reservation. If we’re ever back in town this’ll definitely be a place to stop. Only thing that wasn’t perfect was the volume. Towards the end of the night some of the other guests got really loud, and since it’s a small place it was really loud at our table as well. Server apologized for it and all was well, but know that if folks get too boisterous it’ll get loud!

Fantastic dinner! Went on our honeymoon, we got the escargot, grilled Cesar salad, potatoes au gratin, filet mignon and ribeye, and the peanut butter brownie for dessert. Food was fabulous, service impeccable. Wouldn’t change a thing.

Though EVERY staff member we encountered was extraordinarily delightful, it was like our server Ryanne knew us personally. The food was beyond amazing and was everything Ryanne said it would be. The atmosphere upstairs was intimate. The cost is not for the faint of heart, but when out spending the evening celebrating with the love of your life, cost was not the focus.

The filet mignon was great and they nailed the temperature. They initially seated us at a weird table where I was practically sitting next to the guy behind me. We got moved to a better table. Our server wasn't very attentive to our table at times because he was busy yakking about the restaurant industry to the table next to us. But other than that we had a good time.

We went to Bowdie’s on August 2nd and I picked it for my 30th. I had to write a review ASAP! I was a little worried since I wanted a really nice dinner for my birthday and did not know what to expect as we are from IL. It was an amazing experience and nothing will ever beat this experience anywhere. Our waitress Ann was funny, thoughtful, and was just overall the best. Ann helped me pick out a cocktail and customized it to my liking and went over the food in detail. The food is amazing and top notch. My husband and I will definitely be back and to also have Ann as our waitress! Would definitely recommend.

This cozy downtown spot is perfect for casual meals with friends and family. The menu features an array of pizzas, wraps, boneless wings, and rich ravioli. Customers appreciate the professional and accommodating service, making it an ideal option for those seeking delivery to unique locations.
My friend and I enjoyed pizza for dinner here. The staff was very friendly and offered plenty of suggestions, and the interior had a warm, casual atmosphere. The pizza itself had a fairly thin crust with just the right texture, and the toppings were fresh and plentiful. I ordered the 16” taco pizza, and I had easily enough for three meals. I’d definitely recommend their pizza any day.

We stopped in for lunch and were surprised by how quiet it was. Our family (5 people) enjoyed Scooter's food and a break from the bustling downtown Saugatuck. My only feedback/suggestions would be to add a kids' menu. Our kids would have ordered from it. The ambience and the giant ravioli appetizer (pictured) were great.

Decent pizza. Good mozzarella sticks. We came late in the evening on July 3rd but it didn’t seem busy inside. How, it took them a couple minutes to even greet us or acknowledge we were there. They seemed confused or else very busy with maybe online orders to worry about dine in people. When we finally did sit down, the food was pretty tasty. Nothing stellar but, was fine for a quick pizza joint. Location was great, just across from the park and docks so you could see the boats and stuff.

She has her spring break this week so we thought it would be fun to get a night away It's kinda weird being here in early March. Saugatuck is mostly empty now. But it's also kind of cool. Scooters had only 2 tables with other customers and they both left before we did. We got to talk to one of the owners for a bit, which was great. Also the food was really good. I had the Scooters sub and my wife had tomato-Basil soup and mozzarella sticks. Good stuff and a really nice place

Nestled in Douglas, right next to Saugatuck, the Red Dock Cafe offers a unique dining experience literally on the water. The venue's quirky and rollicking atmosphere makes it a popular hangout spot for locals and visitors alike. Known for its American pub grub and full bar, this place is reminiscent of island vibes with its waterfront setting that provides a picturesque view of passing boats.
I dropped by the Red Dock for lunch on a weekday, and I was happily surprised with the place. I found the decor and vibe of the restaurant nice and casual, and it has some of the best views of the water due to its location right on it. I’d say no other business in Saugatuck or Douglas has better views of the area. The rum punch I tried was very tasty, and the food was too. I had the tuna melt, and it was one of the better tuna melts I’ve had with plenty of ingredients. Service was good when I visited, and it wasn’t too busy. I’ll definitely visit again with some friends in tow, and I’d definitely recommend this place during good weather.

A freaking Joke on what we had to eat. BBQ pork nachos. 19.00 and I was told yes there is pork on it... At least 4 oz I was told. Over priced and it won't happen again. Oh manager said do I need more pork? I'll try and make it right. So what that tell yeah... Make it properly the first time... No need to go back.

Truly feels like you're on vacation when you're at Red Dock, love this place! It's a little hidden away so while it can get busy, it's not usually jam packed like places downtown Sagatauk. I have never eaten here but the food looks solid. Generous with the pours in the mixed drinks too.

The location is amazing! However the Key West vibe fell a little short for us. -this is a bar for people who just want some cheap drinks and that's it. -the cocktails fell short with cheap easy ingredients and overpriced prices that don't reflect the drink itself. -a lot of people were having a great time with the music and vibe but again it's just a place for cheap drinks and a good time if that's your scene.

We visited Red dock while staying at the Safe Harbor Marina nearby. They nail the beach bar atmosphere, and for that its a great place to grab a drink and kill time on a nice day. The execution was a bit lacking though. The food... not so good. Pulled pork was massively over-meated as a sandwich. To the owners: 8oz of excellent smoked pulled pork is better than 32oz of bad crockpot pulled pork, its also cheaper for you to make and you can sell it for more $$$. Just a thought. My sandwich was a soggy mountain of not-smoked pork drenched in sweet store bought sauce. Not so good. My wife had a salad, also mediocre. My Mexican beer was coming out warm from the bar. I'd hope for ICE COLD MEXICAN BEER at a beach bar. Will I go back? Yeah probably. Its next to the marina and theres music. I wont order hot food there again, if I eat anything at all there. Great spot for sun and drinks, but under serving the local market as far as food quality goes.

Ice cream shop
The Drug Store Soda Fountain is a nostalgic spot that has been around since 1913, offering a classic experience for visitors. It's not just a place to pick up candy and toys, but also features home decor and an old-fashioned soda fountain in the back where you can indulge in delicious food and desserts. The summer season is the perfect time to visit for some ice cream treats.
Awesome 50s vibe, good ice cream, and drinks. 10/10 would recommend eating here again someday.

THE best store in all of Saugatuck. Has maintained the charm of the town for decades -- and the soda fountain has the cutest glasses for sundaes! You gotta stop by if you're in town. Don't get souvenirs anywhere else :)

Nobody makes an ice cream soda like the Saugatuck Drug Store Soda Fountain anymore! I've never been disappointed with their chocolate malts either. This place is a hidden gem, with vivacious staff dedicated to carrying on the traditions of the place.

The soda fountain at the back of the drug store has been one of Saugatuck’s hidden gems for most of my life. It feels like something from an era gone by, but the service is excellent and the menu offers plenty of options. Because it’s so rare in this area, I usually opt for the green river phosphate. If you haven’t tried one before, I’d recommend it for a different flavor of lemon-lime sodas. Don’t miss out on this shop, it’s sort of hidden behind the pharmacy of the drug store.

Delivery Restaurant
Back Alley Pizza Joint is a compact counter-serve establishment that offers a variety of pizzas with various toppings, as well as pita sandwiches and salads. The pizzas are made using fresh ingredients and are known for their delicious flavors. It is advisable to call ahead due to the popularity of this place. Customers have the option to either dine in or opt for carry-out service. In addition to pizzas, they also offer sandwiches and salads.
Back Alley has been operating since the late 90s, and they make a good pizza. I had the traditional veggie pizza and they didn’t skimp on the toppings. The flavor was good and the crust texture was also a tad crispy. I was very happy with it.
Mateo G — Google review
Fantastic. This pizza was SO FRESH and to no surprise, when I told them how fresh it tasted they said they make everything from scratch. They make their own dough, bread, sauce everything. And you can REALLY tell. They DO NOT skimp on toppings either. Quick, fresh, employees were so nice. Oh and they have several diet soda options! Loved this place.
Ashton R — Google review
I was so excited to try this... Reading reviews and looking at pictures I was very optimistic. I like a thin crust with a bit of char on the edges. They definitely delivered the visual. I ordered a medium pepperoni cooked well done. The crust was perfectly crispy on the edges. But the rest of the crust was frankly like cardboard. Not crispy and almost difficult to chew at times. The sauce was decent, not my style but not offensive. A pizza rating is extremely subjective, and for me this was a miss. Close, but not what I am looking for. The girl who got my order was fast and friendly. The shop was small and felt like a pizza place should 👍
Chase C — Google review
Best gluten free pizza dough I have EVER had! I got the brotherly love pizza gluten free and dairy free. I enjoyed every bite. It wasn't small like most gluten free pizza. It definitely could feed two adults or three kids. The service was very chill and attentive. The place is so cute, right next to the lake.

I walked in, smelled amazing. There wasn’t a lot of seating but we went to a nearby area. 2 sandwiches, 2 pizzas and a few other things only took around 30 minutes, which was worth it. The pizza was so hot and crispy and melted in my mouth. The other party members said they also enjoyed their food as well. Would reccomend!

We tried all of the trendy dinner spots (most disappointing) while visiting Douglas & Saugatuk for the week… Back Alley was my favorite meal. Exactly what I look for from a local pizza joint. Top notch pizza, super fresh Greek salad, friendly staff on the phone and in person. It was a busy weekend so from some advice we knew to order ahead of anticipated dinner, but definitely worth the wait. Thanks for rounding out our local dining adventures on a positive note. We’ll be back again!

Great little takeout place pizza has crispy thin crust great sauce and proper portions, generous but not ridiculous amounts. Sandwiches and grinders are the outdoor table next to us looked incredible and the couple said its one of the best they've ever had. I'd make a special trip from GR to eat here again!

Busy on a Monday night! Our pizzas were great, and the sandwiches were amazing. The homemade bread is perfect and makes me want to come back and try more. We ordered a lot of food and they held the door open for me on my way out! Amazing service 10/10, TRY THIS PLACE

Italian restaurant
If you're on the hunt for a delightful Italian experience, look no further than Pizza Mambo. This charming eatery primarily focuses on takeout but offers a few cozy tables indoors and two inviting picnic tables outside, perfect for enjoying your meal al fresco. The pizza here rivals that of New York City, boasting mouthwatering slices alongside flavorful breadsticks and fresh salads made from top-notch ingredients.
This small town pizza place has it all! -the pizzeria is loved by locals and tourists alike in the adorable small town of Douglas Michigan. My husband and I walked over here our first night in Douglas and we were so lucky to have stumbled on this lovely spot in town! We ordered the Ultimate carnivore pizza large and it was more than enough for two people. The pizza was amazing and definitely made with love. Everyone who works here was super nice, warm and welcoming. Even though they were super busy on a Saturday night later in the day in the summer busy season! We even got to meet the owner and his partner everyone was super sweet, funny and so genuine. He even gave us a hand written note with restaurants and fun things to do in the area since it was our first time. This place is so amazing with great food and even better vibes we will definitely be back!
Gregory C — Google review
My wife and I were looking for an Italian restaurant when we saw Pizza Mambo online, so we thought we'd check it out. Turns out it's basically a carryout, but it did have two tables inside and three round picnic tables out in the garden area. I ordered a small pizza, it was absolutely delicious, one of the best pizzas I've ever eaten. My wife ordered a Greek salad and she said it was the best greek salad she's ever eaten. So the food is outstanding, the people friendly as they could be, but it's just a small little takeout place with two tables inside. If this review was helpful, please give me a thumbs up.

Mambo Pizza is hands down the best pizza in town — honestly, the best I’ve ever had! The crust, the sauce, the toppings — everything is just perfect every time. The two owners are incredible people, and you can tell they genuinely care about their team and their customers. All the employees talk about how well they’re treated, which says a lot about the place. On top of that, the vibes are immaculate — great people, and a fun, welcoming atmosphere. Mambo Pizza has easily become my go-to spot! Plus great key lime pie!!

We’ve been to the Saugatuck/Douglas area three times in the last several years and we’ve gotten Pizza Mambo every time. And every time they have been so friendly, so accommodating, and the pizza is so good!! We really appreciate this special place and their awesome staff!!

We stopped in at Mambo Pizza while visiting Douglas, and we’re so glad we did! Not only is the pizza absolutely amazing—crispy crust, fresh toppings, and perfect flavor—but the owners truly made us feel like family. You can tell they pour their heart into every pie and every conversation. Thank you for the delicious food and the warm hospitality. Your new friends from Missouri will definitely be back next time we’re in town! Highly recommend Mambo Pizza!!!

We went Today to Pizza Mambo with my family some of them coming from Overseas . We stopped thinking we will get just another pizza … but we were very surprised when they brought our food, some pizzas and some lasagnas , those were the best pizzas we had in a long time , the crust , the toppings, My son said it was the best Margarita pizza he had ever try. And the lasagna? Out of this world .. delicious .. perfect size, perfect presentation . The service amazing ‘ 100% recommended if you are in Saugatuck area

I recently stayed in the area for a week and this was worthy of a return visit. Dough, sauce, cheese and toppings were all high quality. It's a small detail, but they set a new standard for me with marinara dipping cups; great sauce and a substantial portion. The Italian sausage had the homemade, heavy on fennel seed feeling that I'm looking for.

It’s always fun to go to a gigantic root beer barrel, and order food. This would be a great place to bring children just for the novelty of it. The menu is basically hot dogs and a few other Hot dog accoutrements. I got the mac & cheese dog, which was good and I saw a few people with foot-long dogs and almost wished I had gotten one of those.
Chris F — Google review
We came here to grab a couple dogs and have some Root Beer. Here is how it went... ordered what we wanted. While we waited, we noticed the activity around and noticed bees EVERYWHERE! Our food came out along with our drinks. We found a table that seemed bee free, but that only lasted for 30 seconds or so. The bees were mostly honey bees, but still... we were able to eat the dogs, which were pretty good, but our root beer quickly were covered by the bees and we were unable to drink any of it. No idea if it is good or not. Maybe wait until fall when the bees are not out and about? Not sure, but we will probably never go back.

Super cute place. I was pleasantly surprised (and relieved) to learn it wasn't just a novelty tourist stop. It was actually SUPER DELICIOUS. My partner and I got a Frankie dog and a Chicago dog. I wasn't able to grab a photo because we absolutely inhaled them. I also got a root beer float, which was also amazing and perfectly creamy. They have lots of shaded and sunny areas to sit and a bathroom available, although, it is not wheelchair accessible. You have to walk up a few steps to get to it. Please stop by here! I can't wait to go back.

What a great experience! Amazing rootbeer floats at the Douglas Root Beer Barrel in Western Michigan near Lake Michigan and Saugatuck. The Hotel Saugatuck is a charming B&B located on the picturesque shores of Lake Kalamazoo. Housed in a historic 19th-century lumber mill, this Michigan Historic Landmark offers 12 beautifully appointed guestrooms with modern amenities such as fireplaces and whirlpool tubs. Guests can indulge in delectable complimentary desserts and enjoy personalized recommendations for dining options. The property's serene location provides a peaceful retreat while still being conveniently close to the main street.
We recently stayed at the Hotel Saugatuck for a post Christmas weekend to celebrate a birthday. The room (Sandpiper) was fabulous! We enjoyed the separate sitting area with fireplace, large jacuzzi tub, and spacious shower with rainfall shower head. The small 2 person table overlooking the outdoor patio / pond was a perfect place to enjoy the tasty breakfast delivered each day. We also appreciated the "extras" - desert delivered each evening and a variety of snacks available in the room. The bed was comfortable, making it easy to relax and sleep in. Although we drove to town due to the weather, the close location to downtown Saugatuck would be a very easy and enjoyable walk. All in all, the Hotel Saugatuck is a perfect location for a relaxing getaway weekend, regardless of the season!

We had an amazing stay! The breakfast brought to our cabin every morning was delicious and so convenient. The location to the downtown area is an easy walk. The cabin was beautiful inside and had everything we needed! The staff couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. I absolutely recommend it, and will definitely be back.

We loved everything about this beautiful hotel! The room was outstanding with great views of the pond, outdoor fireplace, and the lake. Every single staff member we encountered was super-friendly and helpful - giving us tips on the best places at which to shop and to find a morning latte. Homemade chocolate chip cookies were available anytime of day or night to ward off hunger until mealtime. Breakfast was superb, different each day, and beautifully presented. The special early evening desserts delivered to our room each day were perfectly chilled, delicious, homemade treats that were the perfect end to each day we stayed. We highly recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to feel very special as a guest.

Looking for luxury? Look elsewhere! Came here for a get-away with my husband and our stay was just ok. First things first - this is NOT a luxury stay as advertised. The hotel itself is nice but luxurious? we thought not. For $600 a night, we expected a nicer room with higher end finishes. We had cob webs in our room on 2 lamps, dirty windows, cords hanging out from the tv and worn out furniture in our room. The front desk lady was pleasant but did not go out of her way to make us feel welcome. (we just drove 4 hrs to get there) The included breakfasts were nothing special that I couldn’t make myself at home. All lacked flavor across the board and the coffee was very weak and tasted watered down to us. You’d expect amazing coffee at a B&B?!? It is located 1 mile on foot round trip from downtown area so be prepared to walk. Not worth $600/night in our opinion. Would not return.

Had a wonderful time ! The Hotel Saugatuck was great and convenient. We enjoyed the walk to the downtown area. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious. We enjoyed the evening desserts and the breakfasts. Back garden area was nice too.

We stayed at hotel Saugatuck for our 1 year wedding anniversary. The room was nice, clean and cozy. Very comfortable bed and the jacuzzi tub was a great way to relax after exploring town! Breakfast was pretty good, but as others have mentioned, it could be better for the price. Complimentary cookies and drinks in the lobby was a nice touch. We did stay a year ago for our honeymoon, and I have to say the owners back then (the married couple) were a lot more welcoming and conversational. My only other complaint would be the extremely loud landscaping at 8 am on our final morning. For $400+ a night, you expect to not be woken up to lawn mowers and leaf blowers. The one landscaping guy was literally right outside our window blowing leaves. That was a little disappointing and definitely impacted the relaxing vibe. Otherwise, we had a nice stay and appreciate the cleaning lady who refreshed our room and brought us extra condiments upon request!

If you are reading this because you're looking for a restaurant with fantastic food, think no more and just go here. Their food was incredible. These may not be traditional Mexican tacos, but still very good. Top tier flavors that make you want more. Absolutely loved the tacos. We genuinely enjoyed every single thing we tried here.

With a 4.9 rating, we had to check out this casual taco place in charming Saugatuck. It's by the waterfront, but doesn't have water views indoors or outside. Order at the counter and they'll make your cocktail and pour your beer right away. They'll deliver your tacos directly to your table inside or out. We tried a selection of tacos and added ingredients based on recommendations. Very friendly service. Tasty taco combos with diced cukes instead of the usual shredded cabbage. Great margarita and a variety of beers in cans, but they pour them in cups. The steak tacos have a kick. Very casual and family friendly. Lots of large groups dining in. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 stars Highly recommend!

Stumbled into this place. Nice take on non-traditional tacos. We went with a paloma and a margarita for starters. Can't go wrong with either one. The paloma was nice and smoky. Our 6 yr old is a hard sell, but loved the quesadilla and crushed the whole plate. We had the chips and queso for starters and it was delicious. Followed that up with the coconut shrimp taco, fish and chips taco, and southwest chicken taco. The ghost pepper salsa was a delight as well! We will be back during our visit here!

We ended up parking right by this place (end of strip) so we decided to eat here for dinner. Came around 5:45 and the line was out the door. We got in line just in time as the line got even longer soon after. We saved a table before we got in line. Casual dining - get in line, order and pay for food, sit down, few tables outside. Clean restaurant, bathrooms were clean. Staff were all very nice. They did have someone cleaning off tables. There's a timer so you know about how long it'll take to get your food. Food: BBQ pork taco, coconut shrimp taco, small nachos (not that small!) with BBQ pork, Chicago beef empanada, mango + goat cheese empanada - all delicious, flavorful, tender meats. (Even the picky eater in our group loved it! Lol) Will def return!

Absolutely delicious food, serving incredibly unique dishes I haven’t seen anywhere else. Our group all had various 4-course prix fixe combinations and everyone was impressed with their meals. Perfectly crafted and well-developed flavors carried us through the perfect evening. I’ve always been a bit hesitant with sardines, they were one of those things I tried as a child and haven’t ever really managed to get a taste for. But the preparation from The TRAP has honestly made me second guess myself. I was truly in awe.

Fast food restaurant
Burger King is a popular fast-food chain renowned for its delicious grilled burgers, crispy fries, and creamy shakes. One standout location offers an unexpectedly pleasant experience, breaking the stereotype often associated with fast food. This particular Burger King boasts a clean environment that feels almost like dining in a park, making it an inviting spot for visitors entering Saugatuck. The staff here are friendly and welcoming, enhancing the overall dining experience.
Best Burger King ever, usually when you think about Burger King, most of the time it is dirty and bad food. But this place is very clean and food tastes great. Feels like sitting in a park , it was impressive. Because this is right at the entrance to Saugatuck, it would be appropriate for some welcoming smiles from the staff. One other suggestion, because the area outside is very nicely landscaped and park-like, it would be nice to put some picnic tables out on the lawn, and some jazz music over the speakers (inside and out).
HONEY — Google review
Been here several times, and the service usually isn't too bad, but today was the worst. Ordered and was told to pay and ask for ketchup at the 1st windows. Was at the 1st windows for several minutes and no one came. Pulled forward, cause maybe I misheard about which window. Lady came to the window, said I had to pay at the first window, and I let her know that I sat there for a while before pulling forward. She got snippy and said, "I'm a cook first." Which is perfectly fine, but not very sanitary to have your cook handling the money. I said "maybe someone should tell people that..." when she cut me off and was extra rude, and said I was told and then told me I had to drive back around and wait in line at the first window. Had she been nice, I would have gladly obliged, but instead I went elsewhere and had a way better experience. If you go here, avoid first shift, cause first shift is rude. Second shift people there are amazing though. Hopefully this location can get their act together, and hopefully get enough staff to run properly, especially being the only fast food place in that area.
Justine B — Google review
At this Burger King, you get an experience. You order your food and you have about 30 minutes to wait and experience their drive tru. You will see grass, mad customer and a mean manager treating her team like crap. They are lucky to be the only grandfathered in fast food place in Saugatuck.
Matt W — Google review
Worst experience with a Burger King ever!!! They closed the inside claiming they were short staffed and yet they only had four people inside. People walking out said this was the “worst service they’ve ever had”. Avoid this mismanaged joke of a fast food restaurant!!!! The manager needs to be fired for this asap
Tony W — Google review
If I could give zero stars, I would’ve driven back through just to do it again. My family pulled up to find all the doors locked. Not a single “closed” sign in sight, but there were people inside eating peacefully; not too busy but not empty either. We stood there for a solid 5 minutes waiting outside the doors employee leaned casually against the soda machine on his phone, avoiding eye contact like we were exes at a wedding. We waved, knocked, but nothing. Guy didn’t even flinch. After about another five minutes of us doing interpretive dance outside the door, another customer inside somehow got a young employee who finally came to the door just to say, and I quote:
“There’s nothing I can do”
Oh really? Nothing? You sure? Because from where I was standing, all you had to do was... unlock the door? So we left, another family who was just exiting the place turned to us and said:
“That was hands down the worst service ever.” And judging by these other reviews, this place isn’t even worth thirty seconds of waiting outside that door.
Danielle W — Google review
Extremely dirty. Waited at counter for minutes to give order with a man pretending to ignore us with his back turned. When walking out, the employees came out and I said thanks but we are leaving. She proceeded to spew profanities at me. I believe it was the manager...a short woman with nasty hair. The only upside was that we found $60 in the bathroom. We were going to turn it in, but....no one would speak to us. Thier loss. Zero stats, do not recommend.
