Italian restaurant
Restaurant
Nestled in the heart of West Hartford, Restaurant Bricco is a must-visit for anyone craving innovative Italian cuisine with a Mediterranean twist. Since its inception in 1996, this culinary haven has been captivating diners with an array of seasonal dishes that highlight fresh ingredients and bold flavors. From their signature wood-fired brick oven pizzas to homemade ricotta tortellini and succulent Maine day boat scallops, every bite promises to be a delightful experience.
Amazing Italian Restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious—authentic and full of flavor. The service was also fantastic; the staff were so friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend, and I’ll definitely be coming back!
QQ S — Google review
Restaurant Bricco was a very nice dinner experience with my parents. First of all, the service was wonderful. Our waitress was very kind and she was very prompt with service. She was on top of things, and I appreciate her. The food came out very quickly, the appetizer and the meals were out very shortly after we ordered them. The food was very nice as well. Now, I will say it was very loud in here, and sustaining a conversation was difficult. But, it was still a nice time. My only recommendation is to get a reservation for your table, because it gets very busy. We had a reservation and had to wait about 20 minutes, so definitely get that reservation. All in all, Restaurant Bricco was a nice experience with good food.
Jake D — Google review
I was told this was the best Italian food in town and they did not disappoint. It was packed with people and they found me a seat and served me quickly. The staff was super friendly. The food was delicious and the portions were more than enough. I was so full, I had no room for dessert. I am definitely going again the next time I'm in town!
Mara D — Google review
After following Chef Billy Grant on social media for over a year, my wife and I finally found time to visit Bricco a few days ago. We drove down from Worcester, MA- over an hour away for dinner and it was well worth it!!! The food, service, atmosphere was unbelievable! Our server (Julia M.) was absolutely amazing! The food was to die for, extremely delicious with an awesome presentation. The desserts were out of this world! Highly recommended!! Thank you for allowing us to have a superb evening! We will be back soon with friends! Happy New Year!

Came here for an early dinner. It was a birthday celebration of 10 people. Service was perfect. Food was amazing. Atmosphere was great. Our waitress made sure we had everything we needed. She was very helpful and on top of things. The food was perfect. The Pene pasta with vodka was as close to a 10/10 dish as you can get. The pork ribs melted right off the bone. The pizza dough was perfectly crisp. The gnocchi was ok. Overall it was delicious. The atmosphere was perfect. Not too loud that we couldn't hear each other talk, and not too quite where everyone else could hear us talking. Overall, amazing experience. Would definitely recommend.
Joseph N — Google review
First time dining here and everything was exceptional! Drinks, food and our waiter Brad was very attentive. Highly recommend their pasta dishes, beef carpaccio was very tasty but could've been thinner (I'm picky when it comes to this dish). Creme brule was just right and went very well with salted caramel espresso martini!! 😋
Katarzyna T — Google review
Mary was an amazing waitress! The food was amazing as well as the ambience. Even with Street construction 🚧, it was a great experience and I look forward to going back.
Nicole D — Google review
Probably one of my favorite restaurants in CT. Chef Grant is someone who I seeked out to shake his hand. Always consistent, high quality food. From the wings and meatballs to pizza and pasta, you can't go wrong. But if you ever want to see this guys level of genius, no matter what season, No matter what menu rotation, get the scallops. That's where this menu shines. The flavor combinations are incredible.

Spanish restaurant
Tapas restaurant
Wine bar
Barcelona Wine Bar is a vibrant and sophisticated restaurant in West Hartford Center, offering an array of Spanish tapas, sangria, and Iberian wines. The menu features small dishes made with fresh seasonal ingredients, showcasing Spanish and Mediterranean flavors. The ambiance is lively and the service is excellent. This establishment has a rich history rooted in Andalusian tavern culture, where the tradition of serving tapas originated.
Hands down my favorite restaurant in CT, the patatas bravas are my favorite and I've never had a bad meal or experience here! Waitress was super nice and helpful with wine and food selection while we were exploring new dishes.
Nasya A — Google review
Have been here 4 times over the last few years. Every time is a good time. I’d say the we have had very good experiences each time. It has a very lively, noisy, but comfortable feel. The crowd is younger but it is fun. Love the looong booth seats with tables for two gently spaced apart. The sounds bring the dining rooms alive. The soft aged dark woods and fun and bold art and lighting make the atmosphere pop. The cocktails were very good, as well as the flight of wines. The food was delicious. We started with some cheeses, meats, nuts, and an olive salad. The savory and sweet flavors were a nice way to warm up to the bigger stuff. Onto the Jamon Croquettes, carrots, mushrooms, dates, and bread with EEOO. Wow, a complex blend of flavors and textures. Complemented by bread dipped in EEOO. Divine. “Would you any dessert?” Um, yes, if you say. 😂. Cheesecake with strawberries and Graham Central Ice Cream. The experience is mind blowing. The ultimate end to a great night. Make a reservation. Today!

I've been dining at Barcelona West Hartford 29 years. This is a high quality restaurant in every way - Spanish cuisine authenticity, vibe, decor, cocktails, service, and management. Shout out to Manager, Matt. Many thanks.
M. C — Google review
Came at 9pm on a Friday, was able to sit as a walk in. Great atmosphere. Dos peninsulas is a really good drink. Mussel portion was far too small, especially for the price.
Chris S — Google review
Visited this restaurant for Mother’s Day. I sat at the bar and the service was excellent. The risotto was flavorful and cooked perfectly. The prawns were ok and the first order of paella was too salty and hard. A manager was kind enough to offer me a newer freshly made paella. The olive oil cake was my favorite part of the whole experience. It was warm and the contrast of coarse salt on top with the sticky sweet olive oil sauce made it heavenly. The red sangria was tasty and refreshing. I got a fried potato dish which I took home and my son really enjoyed. Overall I would visit again, but I won’t come during a holiday.
Leela M — Google review
From start to finish, our first experience at Barcelona Wine Bar in Blue Back Square was nothing short of exceptional — and the credit goes to the amazing manager Shauna. Shauna is the kind of person who turns a great night into an unforgettable one. Her presence is magnetic — warm, welcoming, and effortlessly professional. The moment we arrived, she greeted us with genuine kindness and made us feel like valued guests, not just another table. Throughout the evening, we watched her seamlessly manage the floor, support her team, and still find time to check in on guests with sincere interest and care. She even recommended a few dishes and wine pairings that ended up being some of the best we’ve ever had — it’s clear she knows her menu inside and out and truly wants everyone to have an incredible dining experience. What stood out most was how much pride she takes in her work. You can feel it in the atmosphere — the staff are happy, the service is smooth, and the attention to detail does not go unnoticed. It’s rare to see leadership like that, and it made a huge impression. We left feeling full, happy, and already planning our next visit. Restaurants like this are special — and leaders like Shauna are the reason why.

We went on a Thursday night and it was quite loud. I guess there were holiday parties happening around d the bar because it was pretty hard to maneuver around. The music was quite loud too making it lively but also hard to hear each other. Tapas style food which was great because hubby and I had different cravings that night. Food breakdown; Bread & olive oil- The sourdough bread was a little hard for me and the olive oil dip was mediocre. Lamb- medium done. It was tender and cooked well. Flavorful but not overwhelmingly so you couldn’t taste the actual meat. Wish I had more than one piece for $15. Pork Belly - this was excellent. Very crispy and the gooseberries added a surprisingly bold flavor of tartness that cut through the belly fat. Salmon - was a little dry and flavorless. The kale and pickled onions could have had more to them. It felt like they were just dumped on the plate. Swiss chard - I love me a good plate of Swiss chard add some garlic and wine and voila, the perfect side dish. Sweet potatoes - I personally really enjoyed this. The pistachios were a genius accompaniment and the grape vinaigrette took the dish to a new level. My taste buds had fun with this. Croquetas - these were rather forgettable. Nothing really special about them. The drinks were good. Overall, we will be back to try the rest of the food. The restaurant is definitely a vibe and worth the visit. That whole strip has great restaurants so we’ll be back over summer. Definitely want the crepes the next time we go.

Been here a few times before- the menu is varied and very well priced; everything is delicious and we were able to feed 4 people for under $85 (not including tip). Service is excellent! A family favorite restaurant.

Mediterranean restaurant
Middle Eastern restaurant
Zohara Mediterranean Kitchen is a top restaurant in West Hartford Center, offering an original menu influenced by North Africa, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, Turkey, and Greece. The restaurant boasts a friendly and inviting atmosphere and is part of the DORO Restaurant Group. Chef Dorjan Puka's culinary expertise shines through in dishes inspired by Morocco, Israel, and Albania. Guests can enjoy small plates like labneh with roasted vegetables or perfectly cooked lamb.
I was craving Mediterranean food so I decided to go to Zohara for a good dine. Jack our server was great , very friendly. So for food we ordered a few mezze which is always a good idea that way you can taste a little of everything. Chicken schwarma , arak shrimp, basmati rice, charred broccoli , crispy za'atar chicken, and steak al haesh. All great!!! A few drinks that were pretty tasty. Their house margarita is good choice , spicy but good. Enjoy, this will always be one of my go to's when in need of Mediterranean food.

Never disappoints, a very lively atmosphere with good service and great food. This is easily one of my new favorite restaurants. Finding great food in CT that rises above my expectations is few and far. I do have to travel to get here but it is worth it every time. Run, don’t walk to please your palette and experience some great food and drinks. The chicken is delicious, the crispy potatoes yuuuummmmm! We enjoyed the side dishes more than the entree and ordered so much that we were too full to eat the entree. The salmon skewer was our favorite but the overall dish was our least favorite meal.
Tanisha — Google review
We had joined our goddaughter at the restaurant for lunch, she is local and she picked this place. The dishes were amazing, with touch of spices giving the food a kick but not overwhelming. We loved the octopus salad (!) and the aka shrimp, plus the roasted cauliflower (yummy) and mussels. The only dish we thought not as good was the lamp meatballs, little bit dry. The waiter was very friendly and delightful. We parked just right outside street parking $1.75 per hour. Great choice for anyone looking for Mediterranean cuisine.
Robin W — Google review
This place was amazing. The food is so delicious and the portions are extremely generous. The crispy zatar chicken and the roasted cauliflower head were show stoppers. We also got a plate of all the different types of hummus (off menu) it was fine, but sort of too much of the same thing, I’d recommend skipping the dips and going straight into the mezzes.
Jareen I — Google review
So so good! We split 9 or so mezzes between 4 of us and it was plenty of food (with some leftovers). The Batata Harra was my favorite but others loved the Crispy Za’atar Chicken. Our server also brought us some special birthday desserts. Would definitely come again!
Melissa G — Google review
I had a dirty glass and dirty plate as soon as I sat down. The staff was really busy, was semi checked on. The food was really good Mediterranean food. Very distinctive taste with each dish. The calamari had a great sauce to it. The muhamarra dip, crispy chickpeas, and Tahina hummus was great.
Tye K — Google review
Great Mediterranean food! We are spending a few days in central Connecticut, and this restaurant was a great surprise. The food was so delicious, authentic restaurant with special unique touch by the chef. We had the traditional Hummus appetizer and chicken Shawarma for main dish. We really enjoyed both! Recommended!
Rivi — Google review
Food was amazing. Me and my wife loved the roasted potatoes. That has so much flavor. We also enjoyed the leg of lamb, and some muscles. We are already planning to visit again with friends.

Established in 1995, this marketplace features a small dine-in area with limited seating options. Their menu boasts authentic cuisine that keeps customers coming back time and again. Popped in for the first time and was not disappointed. I got a pint of their yellow lentil and potato soup with a toasted pita. I am trying not to eat the whole soup in one sitting, so tasty! There seemed to be a lot of happy regulars inside, the employees were so kind and remembered them all by name. Thank you for a great experience, I’ll be back for a spicy wrap I saw someone eating :)
Paula G — Google review
i’m sorry but it literally doesn’t get better then this. peak food experience. the falafel wrap is like a bite of heaven, i am now unable to get falafel anywhere else because it’s just so pathetic compared to these. be sure to call in advance to order, and i’ve never seen a staff who looks like they love their job more. all of them are rays of sunshine. and let’s not even talk about the actual grocery selection. the 7 layer halva is a must buy whenever I go. beautiful atmosphere. i’m still in awe that the best falafel i’ve had is somehow in connecticut of all places
Marcel C — Google review
Overall the people are welcome they smile they greet you it’s clean they answer my questions about food only issue really my gyros meat is skimpy the lamb is already thin

This is in my top 5 favorite places to eat in Hartford County. The owners and employees are so friendly and accommodating. Food is amazing…from the soup to falafel and gyro. Great grocery and produce selection as well.
Meredith L — Google review
Been coming here for years, always great service and food. The falafel sandwich is delicious I always get it with hot sauce and no onions. Baba Ganouj is creamy and tangy served with a good portion of bread, and the hummus as well. As you can see in the pictures the selection of foods from all over the Middle East is amazing from olives to pots and pans. The outside seating area is beautiful. on sunny day it makes you feel like you are on the beach. Store is clean and food selection is great. ♿️ accessible

Really great gyros and baklava. Lots of cools grocery items for sale too. The staff are super friendly. One of the best parts of the West End!
Matthew W — Google review
This place is the Mediterranean gem of West Hartford. We were completely blown away by how ample, delicious, and reasonable all the dishes were. The lovely family that owns the restaurant are incredibly kind and thorough. This is a must try and then frequent.

Attended a party last night where Tangiers food was catered. I’m embarrassed to tell you how my lamb gyros I’ve eaten in the last 24 hours but to say I’m obsessed is an understatement. The Baba ghanoush was to die for as well! To say the least- this place will be my saving grace as I head back into the office downtown 3 days a week. Love love love this place! Can’t wait to check it out in person noting how good the product was from a take away perspective!

The restaurant also provides excellent service with accommodating staff members like William and Amy who ensure a memorable dining experience for guests.
My boyfriend surprised me for my birthday and it was so cute and such an intimate dining experience we sat in their heated outdoor dining area. We started off by sharing a lobster roll. I had the jumbo sea scallops that were so delicious! My boyfriend wanted the swordfish but they had just ran out so he had their all natural chicken breast he enjoyed it. The crème brûlée and the German chocolate tart was great. Kats service was very friendly, sweet, she helped add to the wonderful experience of the night! We so greatly appreciated her kind service throughout the night! We would definitely come again and 100% recommend!

So I’ve been here twice now within the span of a month. That goes to show you how great this place is. The last time I went I took my grandmother here for her birthday. She is vision impaired and they were very kind, thoughtful with seating, friendly and just overall amazing. Our server she was just a burst of energy. I wish I remember her name. She came over with just pure kind whole hearted happy that you are here and made my gma have a fabulous experience. As for the food, delicious per usual. We went on a Sunday for brunch. We had two drinks at the bar then two more at the table, two apps, two brunch entrees and a desert all for under $140. Not bad at all. I would recommend this establishment for the food, ambience day or night, good parking for west hartford center, staff , quality of food and a good place for any occasion

This was our first time at Artisan, and the experience was great. Our server Vinny was fantastic. He gets 5 starts! The food and atmosphere were also great. I would give a full 5 starts, except for parking. It's difficult to find parking. But overall, it was a great experience 👍🏼! I'd recommend this restaurant.
Saki T — Google review
We came here to celebrate my birthday. We reserved a seat at the outdoor patio and was not disappointed. The ambience was wonderful with string lights over pergolas. The server staff was courteous and recognized my birthday right away when we sat down. Among the appetizers, the pork belly was the best. It was crunchy on the outside and paired with pickled salad. I had the Monkfish (fish of the day) with seafood cioppino. The sauce was a bit too thick but seasoned well. I chose the cheesecake as dessert. They brought it out with a candle and Happy Birthday written on it. It was a nice touch.
Teddy C — Google review
I had an incredible dining experience. We loved how much attention to detail went into everything. The staff was warm and attentive and every dish was beautifully prepared and full of flavor. Plus, they had gluten free options which was fantastic. The ambience was intimate, making it the perfect spot for a special dinner or a cozy night. Highly recommend.

We went for brunch with some friends, and it was overall a great spot! I loved the food (brunch menu was just what I was looking for), but the service was just okay (very pleasant, but felt very scattered and we had to ask for several different things a few times throughout our meal, sometimes more than once). Maybe it was just an off day, so I'd love to go back. I'd say based on this one experience, it was a 4.25/4.5. We had the fresh fruit with ricotta, and avocado toast. They were able to add smoked salmon to the toast even though it wasn't on the menu, which we appreciated. The live music was a nice touch! The outdoor seating looked lovely on a nice spring day. Overall I'd definitely recommend this as a nice brunch spot in West Hartford.
Naomi C — Google review
We came here for my mother's birthday last Saturday. Immediately upon being sat down, our server Vince (I hope I got his name right) came over to us and told my mom happy birthday, that they're glad to have us and to enjoy our selves. The food was wonderul, and came out in a respectable time. Meanwhile, Vince was very nice and helped us choose a bottle of wine and brought me some very tasty whiskey sours. I ordered the swordfish, which was amazing. My mom, sister and aunt also enjoyed their meals and had no complaints. At the end of the dinner Vince presented us with a complimentary dessert for my mother's birthday, which meant a lot to her and showed the professional of our server and the crew. ALSO, the bread and butter/oil is incredibly simple but amazing. We couldn't get enough of it. Overall, we all thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Our server was amazing and friendly, the food was great and the atmosphere outside was very nice. I'll definitely be coming back at some point. Thank you Vince for helping make it an incredible birthday for my mother, it means a lot! God bless!

Sally and Bob’s is a beloved hometown spot in West Hartford known for its handcrafted breakfast and lunch offerings. With decades of experience, they serve classic dishes like pancakes and sandwiches with personal attention to detail. While the menu has been enhanced by new owners, the original concept remains intact, offering a mix of delicious new options alongside traditional favorites. The place tends to get crowded, especially when they have their sought-after lemon ricotta pancakes available.
Such a good place to come. Good food, fantastic service, quick to know your needs, friendly, staff was outstanding, willing, smiling, on point. Ate alone but felt surrounded by good company. Great spot to spend your hard earned money, will be back. 🙂

I've lived in West Hartford for ¾ of my life...I've just now came here. Growing up in Elementary school I was told by a girl in my class this place was amazing and still never went. Came here with my family and the corn beef hash omelet was amazing! Absolutely delicious its not the canned corned beef either its homemade from what I hear and you can 110 percent taste the difference! The friendly staff and fast service was out of this world 11 out of 10! Food for 3 was out in about 15 mins with a pretty packed house!

Have been here a few times but we received unacceptable service today. We were sat and greeted with coffee, and we put in our very order shortly after. 45 minutes went by since we had put in our order, and we had no food, and no check in from our waiter. Several other tables that were seated after us, and ordered after us received their food during this time. Our waiter had walked passed us during this time upwards of 5 times and had no updates and didn’t bother to check in whatsoever. After over 45 minutes had passed we just went straight to the register and offered to pay for the coffees but let them know to just cancel the order (if it was ever even put in?). We didn’t have to pay for the coffees which was nice, but the only explanation provided was that there was a couple of “large parties” in the back. Given that statement, we are still at a loss of understanding how several other tables sat far after us got their food during that time? And why no one checked in with us? I get it, restaurants might be busy. Mistakes happen and maybe the food didn’t get put in? But at a minimum, communicate that with us and check in. Complete waste of time and very poor service and overall experience

Sally and Bob’s is a must go! There was a small wait but it was well worth it. The food was delicious! I had the cinnamon pancake special…..wow. The service, where do I start? Everyone and I mean everyone will take care of you here, even if they aren’t your server. We found out we stayed a little after closing, as we were checking the website to leave our review, and never once felt rushed to leave. Please, do yourself a favor and stop by, if you’re in the area. You won’t be sorry.

Delicious brunch and friendly service. There was a short wait to get a table but our meal was worth it. The coffee was not the usual weak diner junk, it was dark roast and delicious. And the homemade onion rings were great, the French fries only so so. There’s an option to add either to your sandwich order in place of chips. Go for the rings!!!

Restaurant
Mo's Midtown Restaurant is a cozy neighborhood eatery that offers generous portions of classic breakfast and lunch dishes. The dining space is small with counter seating and an open grill, creating a homey atmosphere. While the pancakes may not be the fluffiest, they are substantial and flavorful. The huevos rancheros with home fries come highly recommended for a comforting and delicious meal. This family-owned establishment serves solid American fare on paper plates with plastic utensils, adding to its casual charm.
It's a pretty good spot for decently sized breakfast. It's a small place, but there's a lot of seating for just one or two people. When it's busy, it can take some time for your order to get through, but it's small staff, and they do a great job at keeping up with the demand. I recommend it

I was super nervous to eat here as I haven't eaten here in years, especially since I found out it had new management with a Mexican flair to the menu. I am SO GLAD we stayed and ordered. The food was delicious and it was one of the best breakfasts we had all year. I would admit that I never received the coffee I ordered but I didnt even care. I was so happy with the food. Friendly staff. Will definitely be back here again and very soon!

I love Mo's midtown. Their breakfast is great and a good price. The new owners have clearly kept the same recipes. It's my favorite diner in West Hartford and CT. Try their blueberry pancakes.

I stumbled across this small family owned cafe. The owner is so engaged in his customers, funny guy loves jokes, fast service and great brunch. I’ve been with a partner and Iv been in a group of 6 they accommodate all

I visited Mo's for the first time in years. It appears it's under new ownership since I was there last. I ordered a Spanish omelette which came with a sauce. When I asked about that they said it was salsa. When I received it, it was certainly not the salsa that I am used to. It was not diced tomatoes, onions, cilantro,.etc. It was a brown sauce. For the price, it was rather expensive. I think it was three eggs folded like an omelet with nothing inside, not even cheese. They put the sauce on top of it. I was somewhat disappointed. It was not crowded on a Sunday morning. No lines at the front door like they used to be. Maybe it's gone downhill some. The owner seemed friendly. The server seem to care less and didn't even know what the sauce was on the omelette.

Came in today to sit and have breakfast. Walked in, saw that they were busy so I sat the bar until one of the booths were free. The guest that was sitting behind me left, so I sat there, as soon as the guy saw other guest come in even though I came in first, he said”sorry, these booths are for 2 people. “ I have eaten here before and always sat at the booth by myself and it has never been an issue, EVER. I promise I will never come back.I don’t care who walks in to your establishment, treat everyone with respect and the way you want to be treated.

Great place to get breakfast. Good portion sizes for the price. Service was really fast. I had a glass of water and cup of coffee within a few seconds of sitting down.

+A Poem+ We were greeted with a smile, told we could stay awhile. Took our orders and brought us our food, and oh my goodness did it taste good. After we finished and had all but paid, gently in front of us a check they laid. My it was small for a meal so tasty, we shall be returning in a manner so hasty.

Monte Alban Restaurant is a casual eatery known for its authentic Mexican dishes such as tacos, burritos, and enchiladas. With the option of outdoor seating, it offers a low-key spot to enjoy breakfast or lunch. The food at this restaurant stands out with excellent salsa and delicious offerings like al pastor and chicken tacos served with rice and beans. Despite being small in size, the establishment maintains cleanliness throughout, including its spacious bathroom.
Really great first visit here. Food was so tasty, not salty, but had awesome flavor. Rice was delicious. Fajitas were sizzling and came with generous toppings. Enchiladas were flavorful and not dry. Even the salsa was great. Service was very friendly. Quick too! Parking was a bit of a pain, but I'd say it's worth it!

A hidden gem in plain view in the West End of Hartford! Delicious, fresh, beautifully abundant Mexican food. A warm and gracious welcome from all the staff ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Four of us went to Monte Alban last night. We were greeted by (I assumed) the owner. He was friendly, and didn't seem to mind us trying to use our very limited mangled Spanish. The menu is extensive, and we all thought our selections were very good. It is a cozy pleasant place, with outdoor tables also available. I thought the prices were very reasonable, especially considering the ambience, the service, and the quantity and quality of the food (I took some home and ate it for lunch the next day). We will return.

I asked my friend to call the nearest Mexican restaurant for food. He ordered 3 chicken tacos over the phone to this establishment. Upon my arrival I was greeted as a doordasher, not as a regular client. I paid for 3 chicken tacos and when my friend opened his food it was two tacos and rice with beans - their dinner special. The food came with chips and salsa so I told my friend I would drive back and exchange it and pay any fees or difference. He did not eat or want the beans or rice. The chips were fine so he ate them. The cashier/owner - a bald man - told me to not “bullshit” him because he says we must to have looked at the menu in order to place a request online. I told him we never looked online or ordered online, that my friend called over the phone without looking at the menu. We just googled the nearest taco shop. I heard him order his food. I told the cashier/owner to not speak to me that way and to please give me the 3 chicken tacos I ordered. I handed him the food I purchased minus the chips and told him I would pay the difference. After 20 minutes he brought me water with ice. I did not trust his smile or that he was being safe with my food. I felt like the chefs were doing nasty things with my friends order of tacos so I left the establishment, left my friends food, and did not request a refund. I paid 18.00$ to be talked down to and told I was a liar. I went to get my friend some pasta instead and I will never recommend this establishment to anyone. I am Mexican and was broken-hearted at this supposedly “Mexican” restaurant’s first impression. I hope they change!

Salute is a chic Italian restaurant located on Trumbull Street in Hartford, CT. Owned by Dave Caudill, Jimmy Cosgrove, and Andy Risso, the restaurant offers an upscale menu featuring a variety of pastas including gluten-free options and grilled dishes. The energetic and charming ambiance sets the stage for a delightful dining experience.
This place nails it on every level. They food was excellent, the service was even better (thank you Chip and Jim!). This Hartford spot makes everyone there feel not only welcome, but like you’ve been going there for years. They are quick to serve, but you don’t feel rushed (important if you are catching a show). One of the owners can be found supplementing the more than capable staff and adding a personal connection to each table. Good food, a welcoming staff and a spot I will revisit.

We had a wonderful dinner as a group celebrating after graduation! Everyone loved what we ordered, and the owner/manager and staff were friendly and accommodating. I'm glad we made reservations. The space is larger than it appears from the outside and has a nice vibe. There's also outdoor seating in the back for nice days, Highly recommend!

James was absolutely fantastic!! My friend Mia and I came in before our 21 pilots concert. We had a blast, and James made great recommendations! Someone else suggested we share a dinner, since the portions were so big and we couldn’t bring them to the concert, so sweet and considerate! We had the 8oz filet minion that had a delicious smoky flavor, and the chicken gnocchi was delicious as well!! We split an espresso martini as well and James had it split into two separate glasses for us along with our dinner as well! Will definitely come back if ever in the area!

Let me start by saying what an amazing experience we had! My now husband and I got married at Hartford City Hall and wanted to celebrate with a nice dinner with our family. I chose this restaurant based on the great reviews since we’re not from Hartford, and boy, am I glad I did! From the moment we walked in, everyone was so welcoming. Jimmy had a lovely, quiet table ready for us and was incredibly kind. Our waitress, Michelle, was phenomenal, she truly made us feel like family. The food was outstanding, from the delicious cheesy bread to the complimentary dessert they surprised us with. Everything was absolute perfection. Salute is well worth the drive, and we will definitely be coming back!

This was our 1st time to Hartford and we were really looking forward to our dinner at Salute due to the reviews. It truly was excellent. It has a cozy atmosphere with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Our server, Raphael, was so helpful with recommendations and we were so happy with our food (the cheese bread, rose pasta, lasagna and espresso martinis were outstanding!). We met Mrs. C (an owner) who was gracious and engaging. It appears that their lunch specials and happy hour specials are quite a deal. As restaurant owners ourselves, we would highly recommend Salute and look forward to our return.

Bear's Smokehouse Barbecue is a popular local spot known for its mouthwatering smoked meats and sandwiches, along with classic comfort sides. The restaurant is a haven for meat lovers, as it prides itself on expertly smoking and barbecuing meats to perfection. Chef Jamie The Bear McDonald has carefully crafted his own sauces and rubs, ensuring a unique and flavorful dining experience.
Pulled chicken and pork are excellent with the Kansas sauce. Baked beans are delicious, as is the mac 'n cheese. Served cafeteria style as you walk down the line with a tray, we ate an early dinner on a Saturday evening, and it seemed most of the crowd at that time was from the convention center (which also brought us!). Weekdays are probably very different. The rave reviews are accurate.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Bear’s Smokehouse BBQ as a wedding vendor on several occasions, and I can honestly say they are one of the best in the business! From start to finish, they make the entire process seamless and stress-free for both the couple and the wedding vendors. One of the things I appreciate most is how easy they are to work with. Their team is incredibly professional, responsive, and always willing to go the extra mile to make sure everything runs smoothly. Whether it’s coordinating with the event planner or making last-minute adjustments to the menu, they’re always flexible and easy to communicate with, which is key for a smooth wedding day. When it comes to the food, Bear’s Smokehouse BBQ absolutely delivers. Their barbecue is second to none—the flavors are rich, the meats are perfectly smoked, and the sides are equally amazing. The guests at every wedding I’ve attended rave about the food, and I always hear how their barbecue elevates the entire dining experience. From the smoked brisket to the pulled pork, everything is consistently delicious and high-quality. It’s the kind of food that really leaves a lasting impression. What I also love is how versatile their catering options are. Whether you’re planning a casual outdoor barbecue wedding or a more formal celebration, Bear's Smokehouse BBQ offers a range of menu options that can fit any style. They make it easy for couples to customize their wedding catering to fit their vision and budget. For couples looking for a wedding caterer that not only provides exceptional food but also makes the entire process easy and enjoyable, I highly recommend Bear’s Smokehouse BBQ. Their food, service, and professionalism make them an outstanding choice for any wedding celebration.

Stopped by tonight after a recommendation from a friend. Wow!! Did not disappoint!! It is very important to have an employee like him in a restaurant and we really appreciate him. Thx and we will definitely recommend this restaurant to others.

Food was great.. had a girls soccer team go and it accommodated. It has plenty of room for big parties.. Bar was separate from main eating area. The service and staff wad excellent, layout of the place is large for large groups and theres a bar. The food is already made. There was 2 items i wanted to order ,Texas sausage and potato salad, but not available. So I settled for brisket and sausage with Mac and cheese. The Mac taste like under cooked velvetta, hard noodles , the sausage was terrible . Brisket was ok just a little cold. The beans taste great , the ghost pepper sauce was good. If it wasn't for the staff being so nice I probably would've rate this a 2 based off not having food availability and the taste of food.

Staff was attentive and nice. The brisket was dry and tough, not much smoke flavor but seasoned well and had a good bark on it. Burnt ends were unremarkable. I enjoyed the spicy cheese curds— a great change of pace.

Came for dinner on a Sunday evening. We were seated at the back patio outside (which I preferred than the front patio watching traffic on Farmington Ave). The wait staff were courteous and efficient. The food was all delicious and well seasoned. Updated on 12/24/2024 - Came back here for a cozy dinner before Christmas. I had the squid ink pasta. It was made al Dante, very flavorful. My wife had the special with strip bass in a a tomato sauce. Our waitress Nicole was very attentive throughout our dinner. Finally, I had the mascarpone cheese cake. The cake is velvety and not too sweet. Highly recommend.

Have been to Treva several times. It has been a good overall experience each time. This visit was for lunch, shortly after opening, on a Saturday. The ambiance is nice, a romantic vibe, one that is fitting for an Italian restaurant. We were seated promptly with waters and menus delivered by the host shortly after. Drink orders were taken, again, by the host. The drinks were delivered by a staff member. The drinks were tasty, mine, a rum drink, and the other, the 980 gin drink. The waitress took our order. It wasn’t until a group of four sat next to us, that we realized none of the specials were reviewed with us. They sounded amazing. We didn’t make a stink about it and were happy with our lunch choices. Still though, it would have been nice to hear them. Lunch itself was delicious. Brussel Sprouts appetizer, along with the Gnocchi and Cacio e Pepe. For dessert, we had the Torta Della Nina, an Espresso Martini, and a Cappuccino. Overall, we enjoyed the setting, most of the service, and the meal. The specials issue was a little bit of a bummer but it didn’t ruin the day. We will be back again.

Had a nice experience on our first visit to Treva tonight. We dined outside on their sidewalk patio on a beautiful evening. Had a bit of a slow start to our service but once server came she apologized for the delay. We tried 3 mocktails - all very good. Our two appetizers were easy to share among 3 people. We each ordered our own dinner - rigatoni with sausage and bolognese and the mushroom ravioli, one of the daily specials. We shared a generous slice of tiramisu for dessert. Overall, it’s a great spot to dine in West Hartford.

I stopped here with my Wife for little date dinner. Place is definitely way bigger inside then you could expect by looking from outside. We sat down on booth by bar. There are also quieter area on the other side and back. Luckily it was still early so it wasn't too loud. Waiter came, he was nice, took our order. He asked if we want bread which we agreed to, on weekends we are eating more carbs so we were excited for it. Unfortunately we never got our bread which was very unfortunate. I decided that I will drop my overall grade to 4 stars. I changed my mind quickly after I tried main dish. I had ribeye and my wife had ny strip steak. It was delicious, meat and carbs. So good. That's why I'm keeping those 5 stars. Even those brussel sprouts that I normally don't like it were delicious. I strongly recommend this place for delicious steaks!

We were glad we finally decided to give this place a try. Often seen people waiting in line. We chose a quiet day and there was no waiting. Fresh food and well cooked is something to look forward to! It’s a little pricy but well worth it! Enjoyed our drinks😀 The bread that they provided was really good, little hard but if you take out the sides it’s perfect. Shrimp flatbread -5/5( so light and and so fresh) Chicken pesto pasta- 5/5( requested extra pesto and it was the best pasta ever, the pasta and sauce was home made that made it so good) Branzino- 5/5 ( requested for the fillet instead of the whole fish, it came so fresh , it was cooked perfectly, loved it! The veggies were actually cooked nicely that made it perfect) Will be back to try more items on the menu😀

Black-Eyed Sally's Southern Kitchen & Bar is a vibrant roadhouse in Hartford, known for its live blues, jazz, and soul music. Inspired by the owner's trip to Memphis, it offers an authentic southern music bar experience. The venue has hosted renowned artists from the blues circuit and serves up iconic flavors of the Deep South alongside exotic dishes like fried okra and crawfish tails. The restaurant also explores Deep South cuisine with a menu featuring brisket and New Orleans jambalaya.
Black-Eyed Sally’s in downtown Hartford delivers bold Southern flavors in a fun, blues-inspired setting. The eclectic décor—featuring vibrant artwork, neon signs, and quirky lighting—creates a lively atmosphere both at the bar and in the dining room. The BBQ plate I ordered, with brisket, ribs, beans, rice, and coleslaw, was delicious—tender, flavorful, and authentically Southern. The staff were friendly, and service was efficient. With its mix of great food, upbeat vibe, and laid-back charm, Black-Eyed Sally’s is a go-to spot for comfort food and a taste of the South in the heart of Connecticut.

Being from the south, my honey and I have had this place on our list for a while. We finally got to stop in for lunch, hoping to find authentic southern cooking. We started out with the okra and pickles. These are fried and fried pretty well. They are served with a sauce that tastes like a fancy Big Mac sauce, tasty. The downside of this appetizer is the okra. I’m not sure where they got the idea of frying okra whole was the way it’s done, but they missed the mark. The pickles were great. For our meals, I had the southern fried chicken. It was fried well and quite tasty. The collard greens were off, a lot. Granted, I’m more of a turnip greens kind of guy, but these were bad. The Mac and cheese tasted and felt like a boxed cheese. My honey had the jambalaya. It was quite good, several large shrimp and plenty of sausage. It was well seasoned. Because I had to, I tried the gumbo. I’m going to tell you, this was the star of the show. I’ve had a lot of gumbo in Louisiana, and this was by far the best I’ve had. A bit of good ole Crystal hot sauce, and this dish was perfect. Next time, I’m just getting a bowl of gumbo. The corn bread was good. My honey loved it, I thought it was okay. It’s a very sweet cornbread, so if that’s not your thing, you’ll be in the same boat as I. The atmosphere is amazing. We will be back when they have live music, I can see being a fun place so spend an evening.

Happy Father's Day ! My son Zak and I had our first visit today but not our last. s soon as you walk in the smell tells you it's going to be awesome. The decor and atmosphere is wonderful. I had a Hurricane and it was delicious. We started with the fall off the bone BBQ chicken wings and moist corn bread with honey butter. My son had the pulled pork platter and I had the pork rib, brisket, chicken platter. Both came with a mountain of delicious rice and beans and coleslaw. We saved room for dessert and we both ordered the chocolate brownie mousse cake which was to die for. I also went home with a huge amount of delicious leftovers that I will be enjoying later.😁 We will definitely be back because there are so many more delicious items on the menu I need to try.😁 Also the staff and service was great ! Thank you Ava.👍

We've stopped twice in the past month with no complaints whatsoever. The greens are on point and the corn bread is bomb. This time we got the jambalaya and the pig out, my personal fave, with plenty to take home for another meal.

Went here for an event group dinner, so we had the place to ourselves, but it was still packed. I didn't get any pictures of the food because by the time I got through the buffet line, I was ravenous. The was pretty good, but probably suffered from being in hotel pans. The ribs were dry as a result, but there were a few juicy and moist ones in there which were good. I'd definitely give them another try. The collard greens were crazy good. Even the guy from Mississippi said so. We also had red beans and rice, which were tasty and some of the MOST crispy fried chicken I've ever eaten. They had waffles there, too, but that didn't work too well. Oh! And blackened salmon. That was really good as well, and I wish I'd had more. The crab cakes left more than a little to be desired, but again, hotel pans. So that's why 'only' 4 stars. But the people were great and very attentive for the huge group we were in. For a soul food place, literally in Connecticut Yankee land, it was damn good, and I'd go back. In fact, I have another trip coming up back to Hartford, and I'm positive we'll end up at the Pig's Eye Pub at least once, which is upstairs. So I plan on going back soon. Sorry for no food pictures, but they support music and have lots of related photo worthy decor, IMHO.

Bartaco is a vibrant restaurant located in West Hartford Center, offering creative tacos and drinks in a trendy industrial-chic setting with outdoor patio seating and lively music. Inspired by the beach culture of Brazil, Uruguay, and Southern California, this top-rated establishment serves up sophisticated street food with coastal flavors in a relaxed atmosphere. While the wait can be long due to its popularity, the experience is worth it. The menu features smaller-sized servings perfect for sampling various dishes like their delicious street corn.
This was my 1st time at this location, I usually go to West Port. Hartford traffic overwhelms me but things went smooth this trip. There is parking in the from and back but you have to pay at the meter. Unfortunately it didn’t work for me, so I had to download the app to pay. I walked into what I thought was Bartaco but it it was Barcelona. Apparently the two are right in front and behind each other. Bartaco is in the front lol. The ambiance in both was top tier lol. Once I got to the right establishment I was immediately greeted and asked where I’d like to sit. Everything was clean and very nice. After I chose my sit, I was asked how I’d like to order and if I was aware of the QR code and dragon card. I replied yes and placed my order through the qr. typically I’m used to not having many interactions with staff this way, but that was different here. The manager checked in and asked if everything with my order went okay. I pointed out that the price was a lil higher. When we checked I realized I ordered 2 street corns. He offered to take one off but I said I was okay, if e could just send the 2nd to go. I ordered Korean Bbq Ribeye Rice Bowl, Pork Belly taco, Street Corn, Pineapple Express and Churros. Each dish was brought out by a server that confirmed the order and greeted me with a smile. This was my 1st time trying a rice bowl and the Pineapple Express. The bowl was yummy but the kimchi was way too salty. When I removed it, everything else was perfect. The tacos are really small, like you can finish them in one bite, so I usually order 3. Pork Belly is my favorite. I love the flavor and the texture of the meat. The Street Corn is elote which I love. It’s the perfect combination of salty and sweet. The Pineapple Express was a 10 out of 10! If I wasn’t driving would’ve ordered another one. The flavor was delicious and is was not weak! The churros are always top tier. Perfectly crispy, warm and sweet. They come with two sauces. I find the chocolate to be overpowering. Very strong like dark chocolate meets expresso. The vanilla is lightly sweet yet very flavorful. You can taste the vanilla bean. The manager and other staff checked on me several times. The customer service was top tier. I highly recommend and I will be back to try something new. Especially that Tres Leches!

I’m an absolute taco lover, and this spot totally won me over! 🌮 The tacos are insanely delicious and very reasonably priced. You can really feel the passion and love for food coming from the kitchen. I’ll definitely be coming back. I tried a variety of flavors, and hands down, the duck taco was my favorite—it’s sweet, fresh, and absolutely mouthwatering. The shrimp taco was just okay, but everything tasted really fresh overall. The drinks were fantastic, and the music created such a great vibe. I love this place, and I’m already planning my next visit!

I liked that you could order your food on your phone at your own pace. So we had plenty of time to figure out what we wanted. I wasn't a fan of the entire tortilla for the guacamole app and the guacamole wasn't as flavored as I like. But it was still good. And I loved the tacos. However, I am not good with spice and the pork belly taco was very spicy to me haha. I know, im a baby lol. The duck taco was alao deliciois but spicy haha. But I still ate it because it was so good. The breaded shrimp taco was my favorite.

Our first time at bartaco was awesome! We usually go to El Santo but wanted to switch it up! It didn’t disappoint. All the tacos were delicious. Highly recommend the birria tacos, Short rib tacos, street corn, and duck tacos. The fresh squeezed juices were good too! We will definitely be back again! 🌮🌮🌮

Great food and vibe, we liked it so much we returned the following night! The crispy shrimp tacos are amazing, also the Taco Teaser is a great tapas-style dish. The red sangria is great too…😂

We love bartaco. The food is great. The duck tacos are so good. The rice bowls are great but small. The food used to touch the inside of the lid, being filled to the top. The cucumber salad side was flavored well. The kale caesar salad was delicious. I wish there was some consistency with the non-alcoholic drinks. Completely unbalanced. The dessert menu is very small, but some good choices. I like the key lime pie. Affordable prices. Overall, good choice in the area.
Big B — Google review
The food was good. For what I ordered, the serving sizes were on the smaller side. So, if you are looking to get full, try something esle other than the tacos. Also, first time trying the street corn. Please try it. It was delicious and I was not disappointed as I love corn on the cob. The atmosphere was nice. They have inside and outside seating on the patio. They also, have a bar to make alcoholic beverages. The wait staff is were nice and very knowledgeable of what they have to offer. I had ask for one thing and got something. When I express my concerns, the person took charge, was very apologetic and fixed the issue immediately. He also, gave me something extra for the inconvenience. This now presents me with another opportunity to go back to the restaurant. Great customer service in my book. The establishment is wheelchair ♿️ accessible, as it's on ground level. The bathroom is the same. It was my first time and apart from the tacos sizes, I had a great experience.

4.5 stars. I was craving tacos and we were in town, so this place popped up on Yelp. There was a packed patio area but we decided to dine inside. The place was pretty busy on a Saturday a little after lunchtime; however, service was great. The hostess/server brought us water and explained the ordering process. They had a unique setup where you order on their website by scanning the QR code. They have regular menus also. We placed the orders and the appetizer came out in two minutes, super fast service. It was an order of fresh cooked tortilla chips and guacamole, it was authentic and tasty. I ordered three tacos, they were about 4 inches wide which the hostess explained prior. The flavors I chose were: -seared chorizo: ground pork with sweet onion, cilantro, smoky red chimichurri sauce -glazed pork belly: with spicy arbol chili sauce -baja fish: spicy tempura battered cod with chipotle slaw These were so good and a good price. The flavors intermingled with my taste buds. They had three different hot sauces on the tables; those were jalapeno, roja, and habanero. I did notice that they were a little bit disorganized; they mixed my husband's tacos with mine so we had to figure out which ones were which. Aside from that, everything was great. The margarita and food were 5 stars; I liked that I was able to pick the type of alcohol and mix; I had a perfect margarita and it was $10.50, which was a good price compared to the $13+ most places are charging now. I looked forward to going back for more tacos and cocktails!

Mexican restaurant
Restaurant
Agave Grill is a vibrant Mexican restaurant located in downtown Hartford, Connecticut. It stands out from typical American eateries by offering a blend of modern and traditional Mexican cuisine, complemented by an extensive tequila selection. The restaurant's interior is adorned with charming murals, creating an inviting atmosphere to enjoy classic dishes like enchiladas and tacos alongside more exotic options such as pot roast a la casita.
This was a delightful dinner experience and we truly enjoyed our first time here. The restaurant is located in the heart of the downtown neighborhood and is easily accessible to the local event centers. The food was delicious and remarkably flavorful with very good quality and portion sizes that you very much get your money’s worth. The staff was so very friendly and attentive to the table and I could hear our customers saying the same thing. The atmosphere was festive and welcoming too. Parking is limited to the street so be aware of that potential limitation. It is also highly recommended to seek out a reservation for busier nights.

After seeing "Mark Twain Tonight" at TheaterWorks, a fabulous show with Richard Thomas, we were hungry and found our way to this lovely Mexican Cantina (OK, Grill). The service was swift and friendly, with salsa and chips landing seconds after we were seated. A nice selection of beverages complimented a variety of my favorite Mexican dishes. My son wolfed a Quesadilla, spouse loved the Fish Tacos, and the BBQ Pulled Pork Enchilladas were beyond delicious. The music was great, not too loud, and the decor very Cantinesque. I only wish it was closer to home! Gracias for a great meal!

This was my first time at Agave Grill it was a very excellent experience as we entered the restaurant were welcomed by the manager Isaiah he sat us at a booth and the waiter Shelby did a excellent job taking our orders and made us feel welcomed I will definitely recommend this restaurant to my family and friends I will give them a 10.

I've been here twice in a 9 years period and this place is the same as it was: it's an American version of Mexican food, with very little flavor. My salad was already soggy when it was served and I couldn't really eat it. Drinks weren't great either - michelada es watery. The only thing I liked about the place is that it looks nice inside.
Coppuca — Google review
Nice looking restaurant. The food is okay. Very friendly staff but inattentive. We waited quite a while for our food, but they were apologetic at the end of the day and gave us a discount on our food. Plus, the desserts would have been on the house if we had ordered any.
Lamoore — Google review
I gave it 3 stars to be fair. The atmosphere is nice and welcoming. The music was good. The service was great. I had a really nice waiter/bartender. But I wasn’t really satisfied with the food to be honest. I ordered the shrimp enchiladas. The shrimps tasted like frozen shrimp from a bag. The cheese sauce was a bit overwhelming and the dish was bland overall. The red sangria wasn’t that good. It just tasted very sweet and tasted like there was more bar ingredients than red wine. The rice was ok. But the black beans were lacking flavor and sauce. It was like if they drained the can of Beans and just heated it up in the pot. I’ve had really good enchiladas before which usually comes with the option of a red, green, or mole sauce. This wasn’t the greatest Mexican dish. The chips and salsa was a hit. Maybe if I tried something else it would have been good. But I would recommend it for the ambiance and service.

Delicious food. We came on weekday lunch and not too many people. Ordered enchiladas and agave tacos. Both came with rice and beans. Portions are huge and served with salsa. They served tortilla chips as a welcome snack. We had beef and pork and the meat was so tender and juicy. Everything was well seasoned. Service was great and very friendly.

Pond House Cafe is a sophisticated restaurant located in Elizabeth Park, offering creative New American cuisine and a delightful brunch. The venue has received high praise for its magical ambiance and exceptional service, making it a popular choice for special events. While some have found the food to be satisfactory with limited vegetarian options, others have raved about the delicious dishes and impeccable presentation.
The food, people and atmosphere was amazing! Beautiful view while eating. The menu offered both inexpensive and a little more exspensive options, all of which sounded fantastic. The popover pot pie was amazing! The popover su day was to die for! Definitely somewhere worth stopping! We ended up going twice!

Absolutely love when my clients choose this location to get married!! The staff is amazing, cheerful, full of great energy, and so helpful. The grounds are gorgeous. I almost get overwhelmed every time I photograph here because it's just acres and acres of the most beautiful photo locations you could imagine. This place is full of endless opportunities!

We recently had our wedding reception at the Pond House and it was nothing short of amazing. The staff at the Pond House, especially, Charlene, Diana and Alissa, just went above and beyond for us. Alissa, our wedding day of coordinator, was very personable, professional and detailed. She was so on top of everything and very communicative leading up to the big day. She ensured that everything ran smoothly and that we were all well taken care of! She also did a wonderful job helping our garden wedding vision come to life! Besides, the amazing staff, the venue itself was just stunning with the beautifully decorated banquet hall, bringing the outside beauty inside. We loved having our cocktail hour outside on the terrace and then the remainder of the reception in the main hall. The food was absolutely delicious! From the perfect cocktail hour bites to the buffet options (people raved about the beef tenderloin and nut encrusted salmon!) to the drinks, they hit it out of the park. As foodies ourselves, we were so happy to have such tasty food (which is tough to find when serving 100 people!). Overall, we would highly recommend the Pond House for the attentive and generous staff, amazing atmosphere and fantastic food.

We were married at the Pond House just yesterday, and our wedding was, quite simply, PERFECT. The venue was amazing, they worked with us on a relatively short time frame (less than 6 months), relatively small wedding (40 guests), and it couldn't have gone better. Our guests loved it, it looked spectacular, the food was on point, and I especially cannnot say enough about the staff. I am writing this from our honeymoon suite, and we're still kind of basking in the glow. Thank you so much to everyone at the Pond House for helping to make our day a huge success! Ceremony pictures were done professionally, so we don't have them yet, but I'm including some shots from friends and family to show how wonderful the venue looked on the day, and how much fun everyone had.

I had my wedding reception here in June, and it was absolutely spectacular! Leslie was an incredible wedding coordinator who made everything seamless and stress-free. I had a rental and no time to set up, but Leslie handled it all and created such a beautiful setup. She even made sure my husband and I had time to eat! From setup to breakdown the next day, everything went perfectly according to plan. And the food, truly 10/10, it became the talk of the town!

Great little place for a relaxing lunch. We sat outdoors because the weather was gorgeous and we had just walked the park. They were closing in 30 mins when we arrived but they were able to seat us quickly and surprisingly it did not affect our service. My friend and I shared a salad and sandwich and it was wonderful. The drinks were good as well. They were preparing for a wedding that evening and it looked like it was going to be beautiful.

I had brunch today at Pond House Café and the experience was wonderful. The staff was very attentive and welcoming. I loved that we were able to reserve our seats easily through Open Table, super convenient. I tried a mimosa that was absolutely delicious and some crab benedict eggs that were amazing 😋. Prices are very reasonable for the quality and the lovely atmosphere. Definitely a place I would go back to and recommend. 🌿✨

We got married at The Pond House in September 2025 and cannot recommend this venue highly enough! It was everything we dreamed of and more. From the very beginning, Alissa and Diana were a joy to work with — organized, responsive, and genuinely invested in making our day perfect. They made us feel like family throughout the entire planning process, and their warmth and care made all the difference. Every detail was thoughtfully planned and beautifully executed. Even when a bit of rain rolled in, the team handled everything flawlessly. They transitioned our cocktail hour indoors without any stress, keeping the entire day seamless and enjoyable. The staff was incredible — professional, kind, and so accommodating to our 160 guests, ensuring everything ran smoothly from start to finish. The venue itself is absolutely stunning. Our guests couldn’t stop talking about the gorgeous gardens, the walls of windows overlooking the pond, and the warm, inviting atmosphere. And the food — truly exceptional! Every dish was delicious and beautifully presented. From the breathtaking setting to the outstanding staff, amazing food, and the feeling of being truly cared for, The Pond House exceeded every expectation. We are so grateful to have celebrated our wedding there and will cherish those memories forever.

Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana is a local pizzeria chain that has been serving coal-fired pies, beer, and wine since 1925. The West Hartford location offers a clean and modern ambiance with friendly service. While some find the pizza to be just okay and on the pricier side, others appreciate the fresh brick oven pizzas with even char consistency.
I've been to Frank Pepe's several times, and every experience has been exceptional! The West Hartford location exceeded my expectations once again. The service was top-notch - attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable staff. Our server went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Now, onto the main event: THE PIZZA! The classic cheese pie is a must-try - the perfect balance of crispy crust, savory sauce, and melted mozzarella. The clam pizza was also a highlight, with fresh clams adding a delightful burst of flavor. Ambiance was cozy and inviting, perfect for a night out with family or friends. Overall, Frank Pepe's West Hartford truly lives up to the legendary reputation. Can't wait to come back for another slice (or three)!

Frank Pepe is the OG of New Haven style pizza. If you’ve never had it, then you’re seriously missing out. This is some of the best pizza you will ever have. The pepperoni is thick cut and charred, along the crust. A coal fired pizza is one of a kind. The service is always great. Worth the trip here 100%!! You will not be disappointed ever.

The friendly server made my day! We were welcomed warmly the minute we step into the restaurant. Our server and us had some quite fun conversations that made us super happy! This was our first time to CT, so the white clam pizza is a a must. We also ordered the meaty piazza per our server’s suggestion. Both pies were delicious. Good food and good service = 5 Star restaurant without a doubt.

Tried Frank Pepe’s for the first time while we were in the area, I am so glad we did!!! The pizza was sooo good we got a small margherita with a small Pepe’s salad. The salad was huge for a small which was awesome and the small pizza for two of us was perfect. Next time we will definitely try to desserts they have. Our server was great as well. I forgot to get a picture of the pizza but did get one of our salad! We got 2 sodas, 2 beers, a small salad and a small pizza our total was 29$ with a $10 off for signing up for Pepe’s app!!

I tried their pizza the first time back in 2022 in New Haven and it was really good and delicious today. I heard that they have opened up a new location nearby and I went to try it and again I wasn’t disappointed. It’s a real Italian real pizza structure and flavor. I put an order and I just went there to pick it up. It didn’t take more than 15 minutes. It was hot and delicious.

First time dining in at this location; I'm a huge fan of New Haven-Style Pizza, nothing compares. Staff was friendly and helpful, dining area and restrooms were clean. Pizzas came out way quicker than Sally's Apizza, and rivals the same quality only with more char on the crust and undercarriage, in my personal opinion. We enjoyed the Margarita Pie and my personal favorite -classic Cheese Pie with Fresh Basil, loads of Fresh Garlic, and Anchovies. Prices were well worth the experience. Where I live now, (SE US) nothing touches this quality of Pizza. We will definitely dine in again before heading out of town for the luxurious Clam Pie I remember from my childhood. Thanks for a solid meal!

Wow that was a solid lunch. Ate once at their sister restaurant in Longmeadow and had to try this food. We had the special chicken sandwich and it was really tasty. We went there for lunch around 1.30 pm on Sunday. We had to wait for a few mins to get a table even though many tables were empty probably because of the lack of staff. The food was bland with barely any salt. We were in a hurry and didn't realize that the burger and sandwich that we ordered would not have any veggies or even sauce on it unless ordered separately and paid for. The waitress did ask us if we needed anything else on the burger, but we said no because we didn't pay attention to what was included and she didn't think it was necessary to enlighten us. So, the veggie burger just had the bun, lettuce leaves and the saltless patty. The fried potatoes were also unsalted. Since we were short on time we just seasoned our food with salt and pepper and had it with ketchup.

I placed an order on DoorDash 7/9/25 at 10:47am for a big breakfast with scrambled eggs. I did not get any home fries with my big breakfast, like seriously?? Also was given no utensils to eat with. Please do better. I attached a photo of what I got and also the Doordash listing where you clearly see it has home fries listed. Also they give you the smallest strips of bacon possible. The pancakes and sausage are great though.

I have also been to Effie’s at least a dozen times, usually for breakfast. The food, service, and atmosphere are top notch. A few key words that come to mind are Dependable, predictable (I know what to expect), and delightful. It is always a pleasure and I look forward to dining there with family or friends. You can’t go wrong and you won’t be disappointed. Great job Effie’s!

The trendy Effie's Place is very good, however, not worthy of the accolades I have heard. Yes, good location. Yes, friendly and helpful staff. Yes, very good homemade corned beef hash (Although, not $7.75 very good). The hash browns were terrible, just mushy potatoes, no seasoning, no onions, just a mushy potatoe, why bother? One of 2 of the eggs i ordered over easy was over medium. I had high expectations for this restaurant and they were not met. Effie's Place is still very good and worth a try.

We were greeted by staff with nice smile and good spirit. We got both lunch and breakfast menu due to time we came. Choice was decent. My Wife ordered Philly Steak Omelet, I had also same one and another custom one made from different meats. And we both had bacon on the side. Philly Steak omelets came very plain in taste. Tasted like eggs and steak without any sort of seasoning. After adding some salt and pepper was Ok. The omelet made from different meats came good. I really like it. Staff was very nice and caring.

I’ve visited Tisane a few times now for afternoon tea. I’d certainly recommend for a very laid back environment for a few reasonably priced appetizers. This most recent visit was during the St. Patrick’s Day weekend and the interior left a lot to be desired, in terms of overall presentation not the best, the bathrooms also need quite a bit of work, however, it’d still recommend!

Tisane has a really cool vibe, but the food wasn’t overly impressive. My lo mein was good, but my boyfriend ordered general tso’s that we felt was lacking in flavor. The steamed buns were okay, but dry, and we wished that the Philly cheesesteak egg rolls had come with a dipping sauce. Otherwise, they weren’t bad. The best part was the warm brownie sundae. I’ll try coming back for brunch and coffee to see if that’s better if I’m in the area again.

The cozy atmosphere makes it a great place to relax or get work done, with an upstairs area that's both aesthetic and comfy. Their artisanal-crafted bread and breakfast items like the avocado toast are highly recommended, offering a delightful dining experience.
This bakery is a staple in the Hartford area, offering some of the city's best baked goods. They have a delectable variety of breakfast and lunch items. Even on their busiest days, they are fast, efficient, and consistent, without any compromise on food quality. Highly recommend this place—it won't break the bank.

Very solid bakery and breakfast spot! I got a latte and the E-BAT sandwich, both of which are really tasty. Only complaint is that it's a bit expensive, but that is hardly the fault of anyone in the building. I've also gotten the Miche loaf in the last and it was very good! I will definitely return here for a local spot with very solid goods and friendly & welcoming employees!

Ally and Ariel are AMAZING! I called to place a huge delivery order and they were both very patience, organized, thoughtful, and worked with me to fulfill all my needs. I needed very specific sandwiches that were dairy free, gluten free, and vegetarian. They made sure and explained I had all the items I needed. The employees and amazing and the food is delicious! Catering is phenomenal. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Chocolate croissant without chocolate. First time trying Hartford baking company, and was completely disappointed, the chocolate was hollow with a less than a dime size drop of chocolate inside.

The food is good the bread fresh no corners cut turkey and egg on croissant was very filling

Decent service. Nice view on the top floor. Would have been 5 star of they didn't forget the 3rd egg on my sandwich that I paid for.

I tried their 🌯 scrambled eggs, black beans, avocado, cheese and spiced potatoes in a whole wheat wrap - this was flavorful and delicious. Loved how the eggs were cooked and toppings were great I just love how every item was customizable and you could substitute on the app! Definitely makes ordering food more convenient and I want to try their other breakfast options

Japanese restaurant
Sushi restaurant
Ichiro Hibachi & Sushi is a vibrant Japanese restaurant that offers an exciting dining experience with its tableside grilling and a diverse selection of sushi and sashimi. A highlight on the menu is the renowned sushi pizza, which many guests rave about for its deliciousness. The seaweed salad also garners praise for being consistently tasty. This spot shines when it comes to group gatherings, as the hibachi chefs are not only skilled but also entertaining, making every meal feel like a celebration.
We stopped by Ichiro on a whim while spending 3 days visiting family in CT. So glad we did! We had two of the pick-your-own-rolls (3 for $16), two soft drinks and one veggie tempura appetizer for $48 plus tip. Not a bad price for all the food and the rolls were so tasty. They were made well and the perfect size. The vegetable tempura was good overall, however the zucchini was still quite waterlogged and didn't fry well, but the broccoli, sweet potato, onion and asparagus were excellent. The roll selections came with a choice of miso soup or salad, although I think it should automatically come with both but it's not a huge issue if you're there for a lunch, but dinner guests may prefer both options. Service was fantastic - our server checked on us throughout the meal and she was very kind. It also has plenty of pay-to-park options very nearby so parking isn't an issue. If you're looking for a clean, quick bite with numerous options for meat and non-meat eaters, you can't go wrong with Ichiro!

This place is great for the show. Great when you wanna have a night out with friends. The hibachi chefs are great as well and live up to their expectations. You spend money on the experience. If you want authentic Asian cuisine there are much better options but they don’t disappoint and I always leave with a smile on my face.

We went for lunch for my shorties birthday and we were all very happy with this place. First time coming as our regular place was closed. This location was worth it! My spicy tuna was solid, but my little dudes tuna avacado roll was fantastic! I got the veggie hibachi and was it was great needless to say had left overs for dinner. My daughter had the steak which was cooked right and was good meat, my older son had the chicken which was also good. Very impressed and satisfied.

** service fee applied for hibachi And if you want to eat at a hibachi table you have to make reservations!!! Hibachi chef was awesome and kept us entertained. Very busy on a Friday night!! Food was tasty and portions were a good size! Staff were helpful and friendly. ***not sure if this is only hibachi, but there is a 20% service fee that is charged AUTOMATICALLY to your bill. We were told this AFTER we got the check!!!!! No pre warning before you sit down and eat!

I'm super disappointed to do this because I never leave bad reviews and I actually really like this places food, but I really don't think my experience was acceptable. for context I've ordered takeout from ichiro probably 30+ times over the last 5 years, and many times I've done so within a half hour of closing, which has never once been an issue, and I've always arrived before they actually close so it's not like I've abused it. also just for reference if I am ordering that late I'm just getting a side order of noodles so it's not like I'm ordering multiple extravagant meals. so last night (a thursday) I called exactly 30 minutes before closing and asked if I could place an order for pickup, and the guy tells me the kitchen is closed. I asked him what time they close (so I know for future reference) and he just says "now.", which I thought was pretty rude. I was so taken aback I just said "okay thanks for the help" and hung up, which I shouldn't have done but I was pretty irritated. in my experience kitchens don't normally close a full half hour before the restaurant does, even for people dining in. but for pickup orders especially I think shutting it down 30 minutes before close is unreasonable, and again - it's *never* been a problem before in the many times I've ordered in the past. BUT that aside, if this is a new policy of theirs then fine, that's obviously their prerogative - but they should be clear about that on their website, and even moreso if directly asked. the fact that he said "now" instead of being forthcoming about it was really the thing that put me off the most and what prompted me to leave this review. again, if it is now the case when it hasn't been in the past that the kitchen is closed exactly 30 minutes (or earlier, I don't know when it closes because he wouldn't tell me) before the restaurant closes, then make that perfectly clear to the customer so they know next time. but now because of his response, I probably won't be ordering again at least for quite a while.
C F — Google review
It was a very unpleasant experience at the hibachi grill. The chef wasn’t very welcoming or friendly. Barely even talked or entertained. When the chef left after cleaning the grill the cleaner came in and poured lemon juice on the grill which created we a pungent steam while we were eating. Highly disappointing. Would not recommend this place at all. If you are a vegetarian or vegan try avoiding this place at any cost.

This is one of my new all time favorite restaurants! It's super delicious, super healthy and super creative. I was blown away and became a return customer the same week. The staff brings such a friendly vibe. What an amazing combination of Jamaican flavors and vegan whole grain options. I love that we can choose from the 3, 5, or 8 dishes combo and they are often changing up the selections with fresh surprises. The see moss protein shake was awesome. I can't speak highly enough about this culinary team and what their doing. I want these folks to take this place national. With just a few seats inside, plan to take your food to the nearby park. I'm sharing my perspective as a former chef and food as medicine cooking school grad. Please check this place out asap and enjoy!

Everything is incredible, even non-vegans would love it! The jerk tofu is the best tofu I’ve ever had, literally obsessed with it and I usually don’t like tofu. The chickpeas, curried potatoes, rice, stews, legit everything is amazing. I usually get the large (8 items) and get everything. The staff is always very friendly as well. Love this place so much.

I definitely have a go-to eatery for when I am back in Hartford. Loved Fire N Spice. I ordered a build your own and chose my dishes. Wilted green, jerk tofu and lentils. I am always looking for good ackee and they had patties. The ginger hibiscus was homemade and super fresh with lots of ginger spice.

What a find!! My friend and I were looking for a place to meet between NYC and Littleton, MA. This was the absolute perfect spot! The banana porridge was incredible — if it weren’t such a long drive I would go there every day for breakfast. The food is fresh and delicious and you can taste the love that is Chris’ secret ingredient. The restaurant is spotlessly clean and you can feel its loving energy as soon as you walk in. We were fortunate to grab seats along the window and sat for two hours catching up while the crowds came and went. It is obviously a favorite of many. Highly recommend!! Can’t wait to get back there. Thank you Chris and family for a perfect meetup.

Really loved coming here. Had a great friendly chat with one of the owners. Made me feel right at home. Food was fantastic. Had the 5 piece platter and I loved everything. There is just so much to choose from that you can’t go wrong. The BBQ was nice and spicy too. Place is as cool looking and cozy on the inside as it is on the outside. Will definitely be back for more of this delicious vegan food !

The restaurant provides a taste of the Middle East with dishes like chicken kabab platters, falafel sandwiches, and fattoush salads. Customers can also enjoy delicious options such as shawarma and falafel gyros, along with various pizza and dessert choices.
Amazing food. Great portions (are big). We were both satisfied and impressed by the flavors. The best bread and pizza we ever had (by far). Great service :) highly recommend.
Ariadna V — Google review
Overall, the food was pretty decent and a good halal spot especially for the price. We ordered the steak bomb sandwich, chicken shawarma over rice and the chicken shawarma wrap. The food took about 20 mins to be prepared and the people at the counter were nice. The steak bomb sandwich was very good but the chicken shawarma wrap had a strong lime taste. The chicken shawarma over rice could use a little more flavor and was a little dry.
Huzefa T — Google review
Chicken shawarma and kebab on rice are our favorite. Baklava is perfect with a hint of lemon that balances the sweetness and always freshly made. While the dining area needs some upgrade, its less of a concern for me as i take out my order everytime.

Wow! Pleasantly surprised! If you’re just passing through town or have a delayed train at Union Station—walk down to Aladdin. Hummus, Baba and falafel and salad were fresh, authentic and delicious! Tahini was on point as well! Very tasty.
Steph — Google review
I used to love their food, but I picked up and ordered a pizza yesterday and it tasted old. It didn't seem fresh at all. Prior to that, the last time I got the orzo soup, which is normally outstanding, it was tasteless... Like someone added water to the last bit in the pot to fulfill the order. I don't think I'll be returning especially because the food is too expensive not to be perfect every time.
Umm S — Google review
We stopped by Aladdin’s Halal straight from the Amtrak station on 7/17/25, hungry and in search of something healthy and affordable. While the initial reception felt a bit cold, the food more than made up for it. The lentil soup was hearty and flavorful, and the falafel salad hit the spot. What really stood out was the complimentary pita and hummus—fresh, soft, and absolutely phenomenal. They definitely earned points for that! I’d recommend Aladdin’s Halal for a satisfying, budget-friendly meal with solid vegetarian options.

The Shawarma Pizza! Yes! You read that right! They have a shawarma pizza and it’s delicious. I was in Hartford visiting a friend and traveled 40 minutes for this. The entire way here we kept asking each other. Is it worth it but before even taking the first bite just by looking at it, we know it was, and sure enough it exceeded all of our expectations.
Husam K — Google review
We asked them to keep the pizza in for a little bit more since it didnt look fully cooked when they first gave it to us. Then we saw the pizza was literally burnt when we came home, unfortunately we didnt check the pizza for the second time as we trusted them with their service. I’m only asking why would you give your customer a burnt pizza on purpose? The edges were super crusty, burnt and dried out, NOT EDIBLE AT ALL. We had to cut them off. The dough is too thin and not enough cheese at all. As you can see in the photo there’s a HUGE crust like ??????? The worst pizza I’ve ever had, never buying from this place again. For dinner we had to order another pizza from another halal place.

Fast food restaurant
PICK & MIX, a Korean restaurant in West Hartford, is situated in a strip mall. Its menu features customizable bibimbop and wings. The dining area inside is cozy and well-maintained. The service is efficient, and the staff, including the owner, are friendly. Customers can expect healthy food options with standout spring rolls. This establishment comes highly recommended for its overall experience and delicious offerings.
I absolutely love this place! There aren’t many locations unfortunately, but the 20 minute drive is worth it. You start by choosing your base- white rice, brown rice, or sweet potato noodles (no sweet potato taste. Just clear glass noodles). Then you choose from the variety of vegetables. Next is your protein which is chicken, spicy chicken, or beef. Then they go in the back and prepare it. It takes about 5-10 minutes at most. The rice, noodles, and meats are already cooked so it doesn’t take long at all. Finally they bring it out and you pick your sauce that they drizzle on top. My favorite is the soy lemon and teriyaki duo. A hot sauce is also an option. The bowl is not soaked in sauce for those of you sauce lovers. The amount they give you is enough to flavor and soak into the food. You can always ask for more sauce which is what I did this time. A bowl comes with this nice light miso soup which I drink right out of the container. Their lunch special comes with a drink till 3:00. One bowl is enough for normal people. I, on the other hand always order two bowls because it is so delicious. I get one sweet potato noodle bowl and one brown rice bowl. For vegetables I get broccoli, zucchini, carrots, onions, and mushrooms. Then the soy lemon and teriyaki sauces. They have a new item on the menu which are these new Korean meat dumplings. They are so delicious! They have Korean leeks, carrots, sweet potato noodles, and egg. I hope they keep them on the menu! If you’re a lover of stir fry then this is your place. The downside is that it gets busy there. I’ve been to the Avon location which to be honest tastes different and doesn’t give you as much food. The West Hartford location is where I go.
Claire V — Google review
I've had this place bookmarked for a while because I love Korean cuisine. My family and I decided to get dinner there late Saturday afternoon. Parking was plentiful. The restaurant is a fast casual environment with some tables. The two people working the counter was super nice. We ordered two corn dogs for my toddler and as an appetizer. We had the cheesy potato and the cheesy meat. Those were good, hot, and crunchy. We also had a cup of miso soup ($2.50) and very small side of kimchi; the amount of kimchi given was not worth the $2.50. We got the Korean bulgogi which is thin sliced BBQ beef with teriyaki sauce, onion, and carrots. Unfortunately, the flavor of the bulgogi was lacking in that dish, it was very bland and I didn't enjoy it. Eventually, I plan to go back to try out the bibimbap, spicy pork, and Korean fried chicken. The pictures online for those items, look pretty delicious. But for now, I don't recommend the beef bulgogi, unless they change up the recipe. Another downfall, they didn't have restrooms for us to use, we had to go next door to Dunkin. The place seemed pretty popular for takeout though.
Kim V — Google review
This review is specifically for the fried chicken... Which I don't recommend if you're a fried chicken fan. The breading was way too thick and just tasted like dry flour. Hardly any garlic flavor in the sauce and there wasn't much sauce on the chicken anyway. Also while I wanted tenders and got legs (not necessarily the restaurant's fault as my friend put the order in)...They were absolutely ginormous, like, turkey sized, which tells me they are heavily hormone pumped, cheap meat. My cat didn't even want to eat the chicken meat... My friends seemed satisfied with their bowl orders though, so stick to this restaurant's specialties and you'll probably be happy.
L W — Google review
We ordered through DoorDash. I was really excited to try this place because I’ve been really liking Korean food lately. But, unfortunately I was left feeling disappointed. I ordered the Galbi, the portions were generous but it didn’t taste good at all. It was chewy and soggy. I felt nauseous eating it. We also ordered the spicy Korean Fried Chicken, which was a lot better. My boyfriend enjoyed it. The prices were pretty reasonable when you compared them to other Korean restaurants in the area. But I probably won’t order here again.
Hi P — Google review
I tried their veggie bowl with tofu and added hot sauce with sesame oil. Hot stone was extra $2 and kimchi came as a side for additional $. The bowl was flavorful, quick and easy. However I wish it was more affordable
Garima G — Google review
This was the BOMB! I had never had a Korean corn dog before and I really wanted to try one and saw that they served them, when I say it was fantastic, it was truly one of the BEST things I’ve ever eaten in my whole life, I also tried the seaweed salad, the spring rolls, and the kimchi and it was all so fresh and tasty, everything was so yummy and you could tell that they really care about the food, the restaurant was clean and bright and the woman who helped serve me and my sister was SO kind and sweet to us, I would recommend this place to everyone!
Emma S — Google review
My 1st visit, and although this place doesn't have curbside appeal, the food is amazing. We ordered the bowls which is a similar process as Chipolte. You pick your base, protein, and veggies. The difference is that they take the bowl and cook it all up for you and then you can add sauces. We ordered the chicken and spicy chicken. Will definitely be back.
Margaret H — Google review
Used to come here often pre-pandemic. Really loved their bibimbap bowls & chicken tenders. Staff is always friendly, service fast. However, coming back post-pandemic just doesn’t feel/taste the same. The staff (Antoinette) was so very calm, patient and courteous as we attempted to call in an order for three people while driving. The WORSE Jamaican food I’ve ever tasted in my whole entire life. I traveled from New Haven. I was so disappointed. The jerk chicken was awful. It looked like it was tossed in barbecue sauce. The whitening fish that I had was awful. It tasted super bland. I make better food than this and I’m AMERICAN. Do not go there. Especially on a Sunday.

I went there today and I loved it. I ordered online for the first time and the food that I received was too spicy for me to eat; the owner Mark, was so accommodating and understanding. He replaced my food. I know that's very rare and a loss to him but I'm so grateful about the way he handled things. He also took the time to speak with me and get to know me. Business owners don't do that anymore. If ever I'm in Hartford, I'm coming here for my Jamaican food. The food is actually really really good! I'm not even joking. I can see why this business was packed when I walked in. Y'all need to go here if you're ever in the area!!!

The food is not bad here. We bought, curry goat, oxtail, jerk chicken, rice and peas and they all came with a side of steamed veg. The rice tastes good, but it could be cooked slightly more. The oxtail was good, but the steamed veg was bland and not enjoyable. The curry goat was ok. I've had better. The jerk chicken however, was very dry. It was not possible to have it without putting extra, extra sauce on it. I'm not sure if it was the hour of the day which was late afternoon, but I could not eat it without having to drown it in sauce. Even then the jerk chicken wasn't enjoyable, because it wasn't succulent, and you weren't tasting the good carribean herbs and spices in the soft bite.

People are very pleasant, however the food is simply dry and tasteless. Driest jerk chicken, stew chicken and curry chicken I ever ate. Am afraid to taste anything else. Am done with this place. I have nothing against the people tho.

Harvest Wine Bar & Restaurant is a sophisticated establishment offering elevated American cuisine accompanied by an extensive selection of wines and cocktails. Customers can enjoy delicious dishes such as sausage and brocolini, seafood linguine, or sea bass paired with their choice of wine from the impressive selection available.
Another amazing spot for cocktails and shareable bites. The pear and endive salad was perfectly dressed, every bite packed with flavor. The house made meatballs were soft, covered is marinara and cheese and every bite was sensational. Tres Leches for dessert was light and balanced out the meal stupendously. The bar offered an array of house infused alcohols. The staff was friendly, courteous and attentive.

The manager owner Lionel is extremely rude and abrupt. Two tables came in after me, both with white patrons. They were served first. I noted it and when he asked if I had been served yet, I told him what I noted. He got loud with me. Told me it was another server’s area so that’s why they got served first. Well… the server came and he said here’s your server and we can take your order now. He was NASTY!!!! Belligerent even. Then said it was his fault and walked away in a puff! Who does he think he’s talking to? A child? He should have been HUMBLE. But he wasn’t. The waitress was pleasant enough. But the OWNER MANAGER WAS RUDE!!!! The appetizer was ok, Mac and cheese with bbq short ribs shredded on top. I’m a Mac and cheese cook, you need egg to bind the cheddar and Parmesan. No breadcrumbs on top with the bake… (that’s weird).? Not to order a second time. I’ll get the Parmesan risotto balls which were good before and the calamari. The chicken salad is good here. But they served water with no ice or lemon (huh?). I ranked service 5 for waitress. Not a relaxing after work ordeal. Learn this lesson: “a soft answer turner away wrath”. From the Bible. And keeps a customer.

5.24.24 A Friday evening review based on drinks and apps only. We found spots at the bar, and bartender was quick and efficient in getting us drinks and putting our food order in. The brussel sprouts salad was unique in that it was shaved and stacked in a tower, and yum. The meatballs were moist and had lots of sauce for dipping bread in. We were very happy with our stop. There are spots to sit/eat at the bar area and there are also tables in the main part of the restaurant. The atmosphere is great for happy hours, date nights, and friends grabbing a drink or bite. There is metered street parking and several parking lots close by.

Another place I visted with my Wife on our weekly Blue Back Square exploration. Place is very nice inside. We came during rush hours. Place was packed. Despite that food came really quick. I got 16 oz Rib Eye and my Wife got 9 oz Filet Mignon. Food was delicious. Cooked perfect. My Wife also had glass of wine. After dinner we got some dessert. My Wife had her affogato, which according to her was 9/10. I had TWO creme brulee, couldn't resist. It's one of my favorite dessert. It was perfect. Staff was really, really nice. Overall we had amazing experience. Definitely recommend!

Came here for weekday dinner. They do have specials each night such as half off certain bottles of rose on a specific day. It wasn't very crowded but just beginning of dinner. We chose to be seated outside and after our party arrived, waited a bit to be helped. Our original waitress never came so they had the waitress from another section cover our table. She was an absolute gem and so so helpful. Communicated with us about delays since our food took a while and was very responsive/kept checking in (young woman with tattoos on her arms and ear/nose piercings, Thursday evening). She even confirmed with me if it was okay that the Caesar salad had anchovies, which goes a long way for vegetarians. We tried the Smoked Old Fashion which was okay but the Figure It Out blew us out of the water. The house fig reduction was amazing. I ordered the shaved brussel sprout salad which was delicious on a rice pilaf bed. My friends ordered a ricotta gnocchi which has a delicious red sauce. Our table also got vodka sauce which was okay but could use a lot more basil flavor, seemed a bit plain. Another issue was we ordered a cheese spread and opted for the highest order with 5 selections for $25. The five wedges only came with very few pieces of crostini (I actually assumed it was the standard amount they would have served with only one piece of cheese). We asked for extra and they charge $2.50 per extra four small pieces of bread which seems extremely overpriced. It also took a while since there were delays in the kitchen. The overall plating of the cheese seemed cramped and feels like diminishing returns on ordering the larger platter. The ambience was good otherwise, good atmosphere for a dinner. Bathroom was clean and organized.

Came here for a retirement dinner. Service was good considering the large party we were in. Had the mussels and calamari for an appetizer and ordered the salmon dish. Perfectly cooked for all the items.

I was so happy to have finally tried this establishment. One of my daughter & mine's favorite things is to go out wining & dining! We were able to sit outside with the gorgeous weather. I love that we were able to try a bunch of different small plates. Our waitress was so sweet, she made sure we had everything we needed & kept checking in on us. Food was great along with the drinks. Can't wait to go back!

Breakfast restaurant
Ashley's Restaurant is a cozy diner serving American comfort food like pancakes, burgers, and deli sandwiches. The atmosphere is simple and small but just right for a casual meal. Customers appreciate the reasonable prices and quick service, although some suggest having tableside payment options. The friendly staff ensures that guests are satisfied with their meals, making it a great spot for breakfast or brunch. Despite its small size, the restaurant offers good portions for the price and provides a pleasant dining experience overall.
We went there for breakfast on a weekend. There was no wait, and everything went really well. The servers did a good job and the food was really good. That diner is a nice place overall and good for a bite on the go.

Food was great! Decor definitely needs some help. Staff was wonderful but took forever to get our food. Don't come when you're actually hungry.. come when you think you'll be hungry in an hour. Place gets really packed around 11 at least on the Saturday we were there.

the "medium well" steaks were well done... and both steaks and bacon were cold, the "over easy" eggs were fried hard, and the toast...was buttered bread. the only thing good was the potatoes. and $4.25 for a child size juice is crazy! We paid almost $100.00 through doordash for this meal... we will not be ordering from here again!! and will be leaving a review with pics on Google!

We ate here two days in a row! That shows that the food was excellent! Servers are pleasant and very attentive. The coffee could improve as it tastes a little burnt. Cheap but tasty! Will definitely come back here!

Great place for a quick and affordable breakfast/brunch! The coffee was really good for a diner type place as well. Clean, great service, and the food was prepared quickly and perfectly. Cute old diner feel, but very clean (stands out as most old diners are on the grimy side) As soon as we were finished and sat back in the booth a guy noticed and took our plates away. We were checked on often, but not in an annoying or imposing way. We will be going back next time we’re in town for sure!

not my favorite. which isn’t to say it’s bad, just not my favorite. it was pretty bland. i ordered the big breakfast. for some reason, my potatoes taste like floral soap. the bacon was salty and i had to put a few of them in the oven to cook longer. we also got over-medium eggs, which came over-hard. my pancakes had melted the container and i had styrofoam stuck to the bottom of them. images of my food are attached. i was charged a lot more than what their menu states. for the price i paid, i don’t think the food was worth it and am not sure if i would order from here again.

Came in to simply get some pancakes, bacon, cheesy eggs, and coffee;the service was absolutely god awful and they were just straight up rude as they were taking my order. Dead tone, dirty looks, but to top it all off they didn't include the cheese, syrup, or coffee, when I asked if I could have my items they said they'd need to charge me separately for the cheese, so I asked "if I had paid for the cheese with my eggs would they have been the same price", they said yes but because it was a separate order it's be more labor meaning id have to pay again, even tho from the start I specifically stated "CHEESY eggs", but because she couldn't even be bothered to pay attention and cut me off she didn't hear me, it was stated multiple times.. please for your own sake just go somewhere else😭don't subject yourself to that

Adding items to my order that I did NOT request (coffee) only for them not to give it to me because I didn’t “ask” for it when pick led up bt was for darn sure charged (?!!)

Ben & Jerry’s is a renowned ice cream parlor chain originating from Vermont, celebrated for its inventive and playfully named flavors. The West Hartford location offers a delightful after-dinner treat with the option to enjoy your cone or cup while people-watching on benches in the area. The establishment provides an array of signature and seasonal flavors, served in rich quality. While prices may be higher compared to other ice cream chains, the experience justifies it.
I had such a great experience at this Ben & Jerry’s thanks to Cordelia (like Cornelia but with a D)! The vibes were immaculate from the moment I walked in. Cordelia was so kind, patient, and genuinely happy to help everyone who came in. She gave great suggestions, delivered some heartbreaking news about my favorite flavor being discontinued (with compassion 😭), and still managed to make me smile the whole time. Her energy was just amazing—so friendly and upbeat. You can tell she really cares about creating a good experience for people. 10/10, I left happier than when I came in. We’ll definitely be back! 💖

A nice spot located in West Hartford center. I love the smell of waffle when I enter. They offer a variety of signature flavors as well as seasonal taste. The ice cream is rich. You can choose from a variety of waffle cone and topping types. Their staff are always friendly and helpful. Pricing is a bit higher than some of the other ice cream chains, but you get what you pay for.

Overall, Ben & Jerry’s is a great spot to stop by for a scoop of ice cream! it’s been a staple of W. Hartford Center for many years now, and I’m grateful that it’s maintained such a long-term presence. The staff are always friendly, kind, and very efficient! The price is a little steep, but so is everything in West Hartford these days. Overall, there’s a good selection of ice cream! I consume only dairy free ice cream, and usually they will have at least 2 to 3 flavors. The selection of dairy ice cream flavors is more expansive, and they truly have something for everyone in terms of taste. Their shakes and smoothies also looked delicious as well! Unfortunately, the line is usually extremely long in the summer. The last time I was there, in late June, the line stretched all the way out the door. There were only two employees working, and they seemed quite young. They were doing a wonderful job, but it looked like a lot to juggle. In the warmer months, it may be helpful to staff more people due to the sheer volume. I wanted to mention something that occurred at my last visit that concerned me. The line was extremely long. The couple in front of us had two medium-large sheepdogs. The dogs were extremely anxious and nervous being in such a long line and in a small and cramped space. They were clearly not doing well. A staff member kindly asked the couple to bring the dogs outside. They were obviously not service dogs as they had no vest or badge and were clearly not trained to be calm in stressful situations. The couple then proceeded to lie and say they were service animals. The staff dropped it, but I feel that a sign may be helpful for the front door stating service animals only. It was uncomfortable to see these dogs in distress in such a small shop, they were whining and very anxious. Just wanted to give my feedback! Keep up the good work (-:

Hi! Yesterday was my 21st birthday and at about 12 am I went to this Ben and Jerry’s and had the best experience ever. The workers there (one named Elizabeth) were so nice and friendly to me and my friends. I cannot believe someone would be that happy at 12 am but these two workers were. I love Ben and Jerry’s even more now! Thank you guys!

The day after the Fourth of July on a busy Saturday night and Lexie was by herself. She did an amazing job handling the stress of a line out the door along with door dash. Lexie’s service itself was 5 stars and kept a great attitude. But to see her being overwhelmed and brought to tears since she was alone even though there was a “manager” in the back not doing anything. I’ve been in retail for decades and would never have one of my employees in that situation. Poor reflection on the management team.

Bagel shop
Breakfast restaurant
Goldberg's Bagels is a beloved local gem where patrons flock for their freshly made bagels, sandwiches, and salads. This cozy daytime spot often sees long lines, especially on busy weekends when the aroma of giant, fluffy bagels fills the air. Many visitors rave about their delicious offerings, including unique sandwiches like the Korean beef option. While breakfast burritos may not be a highlight for some, Goldberg's excels in crafting satisfying lunch choices that keep customers coming back for more.
Stumbled upon this cafe on our way to Boston from PA. The shop is order ahead only on the weekends which we weren’t aware of when we arrived (they do have this posted outside, I just didn’t notice as I was too busy taking a photo for memories). The gentleman allowed us to place an order since it was still early in the morning on Saturday. Our breakfast sandwiches were amazing, bagels were very fresh and the chipotle mayo is to die for! We appreciated the service given even though it was a weekend!!! Definitely a spot you want to try but call ahead!!!
Jordan S — Google review
Food is great. There’s no place to sit inside (the place is very small) but there is outdoor seating for summer so that is nice. Service sucks and you need to order online ahead of time on the weekends so don’t try to walk in and order or they will tell you to leave and order on your phone (kind of rude but whatever). Coffee isn’t great but the food quality is solid. Will most likely come again.
Olivia B — Google review
I’m beyond impressed with the quality of this breakfast burrito — I literally had to stop working just to write this review! As someone who cooks a lot at home, it’s rare to find food that truly stands out (even in West Hartford), but this one blew me away. I’ve been on a mission to find a great breakfast burrito, after countless disappointments, Goldberg’s absolutely nailed it. The flavor, the freshness, the balance — it’s perfection. Please, Goldberg’s, never take this off the menu. Thank you for not settling for “just okay” food and for delivering something this good. You’ve officially earned a new regular!
Rebecca — Google review
I ordered 4 breakfast sandwiches, 3 bacon egg and cheese, 1 BBBBEECC at $16. The bagels- delicious. The sandwiches, unacceptable amount of bacon on not only the regular sandwiches, but the bbbbeecc had the same amount of bacon as the others for double the price. I reached out to the company, no response.
Nicole W — Google review
The bagels? Absolutely stellar. I had the onion, Kristen went with the egg—both with scallion spread—and they were everything you want in a morning carb ritual: fresh, chewy, flavorful, and generously slathered. Goldberg’s clearly knows how to craft a bagel worth remembering. That said, the counter experience was… mystifying. The person at the register radiated an energy so palpably grim it felt like we were paying in emotional tolls. Not rude, just unsettling—like a shadow passed through the transaction. It didn’t ruin the visit, but it did cast a strange vibe over an otherwise delicious start to the day. Come for the bagels. Brace for the checkout.
Joe H — Google review
Was in the area so we stopped in and picked up a dozen bagels. These are authentic NY style bagels. Had the right amount if chew. Will be back.
Mark G — Google review
Attitude with avocado toast. Love this place. Food’s great. Coffee’s strong & I keep coming back like a golden retriever. But honest to God, it wouldn’t kill someone to answer a question without looking like I just ruined their morning. I tip 25% every single damn time, even when the service feels colder than a Boston winter. You’ve never been outright rude, but the “just take your coffee & go” energy at 7am makes me wanna pull my hairs out and go back to bed. I’m still gonna support you because it’s worth it; you actually got loyal customers.. so chill out. Gosh. A little less attitude won’t break the espresso machine, I promise.
Riky — Google review
I love coming here and have been a customer for years! They may very well have the best bagels in CT, and the sandwiches are always made to perfection. They keep what they do simple and they do it very well, which I love. Easily some of the best breakfast sandwiches around! On the weekends they're extremely busy and they run out of the popular bagels pretty fast, so make it your business to get there as early as you can and they don't take walk in orders on weekends either so keep that in mind. They also have very limited seating so think take-out only unless you get lucky.

The cafe aims to create a positive and supportive culture while celebrating and strengthening relationships within the community. I recently visited Story and Soil and had a great experience. The interior is super cool, with a trendy, artsy vibe that makes it a perfect spot to relax or get some work done. The outdoor seating is also a great option when the weather is nice! I tried the espresso tonic, and it was incredible! My sister got an iced latte, which she loved as well – smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced. Overall, Story and Soil is a fantastic place for coffee lovers. Highly recommend checking it out!

Whether you’re chilling solo or meeting up with friends, the vibe is welcoming and unique. My girlfriend and I have been coming here every so often and have always enjoyed the great service and coffee. Unfortunately, this visit didn’t meet the usual standard. Super cute cafe! Lots of people around so it felt really cozy, I loved the atmosphere. They had a small board with notes from customers and events happening in CT which I thought was really nice. I continue to love the decor here. We haven’t been in a minute, but quickly remembered why we like it here. Happy Hour until 6: half price appetizers, but full price drinks. Tonight, we had the codfish cakes, wings, empanadas, and fried plantains. All excellent. Another table got some curry and the aroma was amazing. We’ve had both their curry and oxtail dishes before and they are legit. The service was awesome - Miguel, in particular, quite attentive.

This place was really a find. Very modern decor, a fully stocked bar and a cozy lounge area. It's a great place to relax, unwind, and enjoy a meal for couples, groups, or even alone. On busier days, it can be quite lively. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. They specialize in small plates. The menu is modern with international twists. The braised short-ribs are tender and delicious! The wings are slightly crispy and only a little spicy. Must tries are the spicy sweet potato fries, the braised short ribs, black bean soup and oxtail stew. Try the tres leches cake for dessert!

**Super kind and friendly owners!** They work crazy hard to make sure orders are made quickly and accurately. They’re open for about 12 hours a day every day, and rush times go by quickly due to their swift execution of perfect smoothie and juice combinations made fresh to order. You can also order in advance, but don’t worry about getting there a little later than planned—they will place your order into the freezer until your arrival. **The smoothies themselves are nothing spectacular**. They are tasty and cold, which is lovely on a hot summer’s day. You can create your own special smoothie, juice, or açai bowl and make something spectacular if you’d like. The Hummingbird seems to be their trademark smoothie, as a green hummingbird is their logo. It’s quite delicious 😋. I’ve tried most of their smoothies and juices, and they’re all enjoyable. I sometimes get one as a mid-afternoon treat, especially when I’m craving something sweet! But beware of the sugar content! A large Hummingbird smoothie contains over 90 grams of sugar. You can, however, add, subtract, and/or substitute anything you want in your drink or açai bowl as there is an extensive list of add-ons you can peruse. Pretty much everything on the menu is 100% customizable. **Negatives**: - They do not have a public restroom available. - The place seems a little dingy/dirty and could use a good once-over with a scrub brush and some cheer! There is a small “bar” area where patrons may sit and enjoy their beverages, but again, dingy and cheerless. **Positives**: - The owners are amazing people who don’t get flustered during a rush. They are a great team, work together well, and are two of the sweetest and kindest people I’ve come across in quite some time.

Edit: all fixed, much stronger straws, updated review to 5 stars, shake tastes amazing, thank you!! Desperately needs stronger straws. Couldn't really drink much until I got home and opened up the cup because the flimsy regular straws can't handle the shake. Wish they would spend just a little more on better straws so I could drink this in the car or on the go the way it was meant to be drank. Edit: By the way I'd gladly gladly delete this review and add a new 5 star review if you'd just get better straws. I thought my head was going to explode trying to drink the shake, it instantly squeezes flat and cracks apart, I tried to clean it, push through and try again multiple times, your regular straws just can't handle your shakes. Also when I drink without a straw it doesn't taste as good, feels like it's too much per gulp and tastes much better through the straw if it actually worked. You just need sturdier ones. *please!*

Le Mazet, formerly known as Arethusa Farm Dairy & Cafe, has been transformed into a French country-inspired full-service cafe with a full bar while maintaining the Arethusa ice cream counter and dairy store. The interior renovations are underway for an early September opening. The cafe offers a modern atmosphere, delicious dishes made with fresh ingredients, and creative cocktails. The friendly and attentive staff ensures that every guest feels special. Customers praise the fantastic food, drinks, and customer service at Le Mazet.
Excellent variety of tasty dishes, including mushroom, tuna, lentil, gnocchi, bacon+Brussels spouts and beef plates with generous servings of fries. The food comes out quite quickly and sharing is encouraged. Plenty of wines by the glass. Friendly and efficient staff. A bit expensive for what it is but that’s true of all west Hartford restaurants.

Cute place. We went for brunch ,shared the duck sandwich and the steak and eggs. The duck sandwich was pretty good and came with fries. The eggs were good came on top a piece of bread but the steak sadly was not very good. It was very unevenly cooked and tasted very much of the grill more so then the steak. I would say the drinks were the star of the show here. Also 100 bucks for brunch is a bit much. All in all , cute place , good service, ok food , great drinks and very expensive. Probably wouldn't go back.

Rustic French Cuisine prepared perfectly. The presentation of each dish was extraordinary. Roasted beet salad with goat cheese, simply amazing. Beef Bourguignone was comforting and satisfying. Each bite delectable and packed with layers of flavor, each complimenting the other. Warm House made sour dough bread was perfect for soaking up the juices. To end the evening, Chocolate Pot de Crème. Creamy, silky and chocolatey. Brilliant and memorable from start to finish. Staff was amazing, smiling, welcoming, friendly and on point .

We made 8p.m. reservations for Le Mazet's New Year's Eve 4 course special menu. The restaurant is aesthetically pleasing and tastefully decorated. The setting is intimate while also feeling relaxed and welcoming. We were given complimentary champagne to start along with a potato skin with pate and cavier appetizer. Delicious. For our first course we had the Casear salad and the winter citrus salad. Both were colorful, fresh and full of wonderful flavors and textures. Next we had the French onion agnolotti and the duck tatarlette. The agnolotti dish was a rich taste sensation with gruyere, prosciutto and croutons. Absolutely decadent. The duck tartalette with cranberry and au jus was an amazing creation of moist and slightly sweet shredded duck atop a perfectly flaky pastry. For the main courses we chose the Beef Wellington and the lamb rack with potatoes pave and broccolini. The presentations of these dishes were outstanding. The lamb was perfectly cooked and so flavorful. The potatoes pave were delectable. The Beef Wellington was tender and also perfectly cooked and the au jus was luxuriously rich. Dessert was gingerbread creme brulee and chocolate crepes! Both were amazing. All portions of every dish were generous. It is obvious that these dishes were carefully and expertly created and prepared with complete focus and attention to every last detail. It was one of the best meals we have ever had and was the perfect way to ring in the new year. We also thoroughly enjoyed our after dinner digestifs, the Mandarin Napoleon, and the time the owner, Patrick, took to come to our table to discuss his choices and recommendations ( and samples) of both aperitifs and digestifs we might consider trying. We met a family who frequently dines at Le Mazet and they recommended some must try dishes from the regular menu. They had nothing but high praises. It was a very special night night of culinary delights and we most highly recommend and will be returning. There is parking in the back of the building which is also were the entry is during the winter/cold weather.

TL;DR: A mixed bag. Gnocchi and duck confit salad were standouts; several dishes ranged from underwhelming to misguided. Service was decent, atmosphere warm, but execution didn’t match the price—especially disappointing for a birthday dinner. We dined at Le Mazet for my birthday. My wife suggested we return to Materia in Litchfield, but I opted to try something new. Unfortunately, the experience left us regretful—some highlights, but overall disappointment. Bread Service – $7 Small Sourdough Boule :( Tasty and well-baked, but the portion was small, and charging for bread and butter— lacking any elevating accompaniments—felt odd given many restaurants provide it gratis. The Excellent !! :D Duck Confit Salad A standout. Succulent duck, well-balanced flavors—rich, yet well balanced. It managed to feel indulgent while still refreshing—an impressive feat for a confit dish. Gnocchi with Truffle Cream, Peas, and Mushrooms Our favorite. Delicate crisp outside, pillowy inside. Truffle, mushrooms, and English peas (which added a bright fresh pop) created a perfectly comforting, elevated dish. The Pleasant - :P Ratatouille A warm, delicately balanced dish that let the natural sweetness and earthiness of the vegetables shine through. Excellent and comforting. The presentation leaned rustic—vegetable slices were nearly half an inch thick. It lacked the refinement I’d hoped for - Mandolin-thin slices. In the context of Le Mazet’s "approachable upscale" ethos, it wasn't an egregious choice—just a stylistic one. The Good - :) Crème Brûlée A standard presentation. Pleasantly salted custard, but the sugar topping was under-brûléed and grainy, missing that glass-like finish. The Unpleasantly Strange -!? Tinned Scallop Conserva I did not anticipate the presentation to involve literally unboxing the can and placing it, along with its collapsed packaging, directly on the plate. No additional preparation or refinement. Tasted more like sardines. The house-pickled veg and bread were the best part. Overall, a bizarre, unrefined presentation for a restaurant setting. If I wanted to eat out of a can, I could have done so at home over the sink. The Severely Disappointing- :( Seared Tuna Overwhelmed by sesame seeds and overly salty olive crumbles. No acid to balance the dish. Visually and conceptually underwhelming. The potato chips theoretically add a conceptual fun crunch to the dish... but only managed to add further confusion to the plate. The flavors all competed for attention rather than harmonize together. Steak Tartare on Chickpea Panisse As someone who seeks out steak tartare wherever I go, I can unfortunately say this was the worst version I've ever encountered. Serving tartare over a soft chickpea panisse log was a baffling choice—the panisse, being porous and warm, caused the tartare to lose its chill and texture. It quickly became a lukewarm, mushy mess. To compound matters, the tartare was overwhelmed by an excess of capers, making it aggressively salty. This dish sorely needed a crispy accompaniment (crostini, toasted baguette) and more thoughtful seasoning. A misfire on all fronts. Pistachio Flan More like a pistachio pudding pie. The "custard" was fine, but the crust was thick, underbaked, and gummy. My slice was broken and poorly plated—a lackluster end to the meal. Service & Atmosphere Le Mazet succeeds in its goal of being upscale yet relaxed. The space is warm and inviting. Though we didn’t interact directly with the maître d’, his energetic presence stood out—he brought a vibrant, welcoming feel to the establishment. The rest of the staff was polite, though unremarkable. Final Thoughts There’s talent here—duck and gnocchi prove that—but too many dishes felt unrefined or conceptually confused. The menu could benefit from restraint, better balance, and sharper execution. If I’m craving French fare locally, I’d return to Avert around the corner. Their food is consistent, classic, and well-executed. That said, Le Mazet does offer the better atmosphere, and with refinement, it could become something truly special.

When I saw beef marrow and Chateaubriand on the menu (online) I knew I HAD to hit this place up. Honestly? For $68 the Chateaubriand was underwhelming. Don't get me wrong it was good, very good, but not great. And when it arrived it was a mish-mash of meat, potatoes, mushrooms, and asparagus in a trench. Too little gravy for me, but, to me, gravy is a beverage. The bone marrow was only one half of the bone so it too seemed less than what I hoped for. Regardless, make a reservation and try this place out.
Terry T — Google review
I have gone 3 times. The first two times, the attention to detail and atmosphere were perfect. During my third visit, I arrived before my reservation time; however, they were able to accommodate us because we knew what we wanted and ate quickly! The first two visits, the owner was there and it was superb. His energy was stellar and you could tell the restaurant runs differently when he is there! During the third visit, a manager and possibly a new waitress were present. They tried really hard to make our time lovely. We arrived prior to the dinner shift, indicating that the A-Team servers were not yet on duty. French fries are constantly perfect! Small State Provisions bread service is a MUST! They do take-out orders as well! The 3rd time we went, they brought out this crazy knife to cut the bread, which would have been ok, yet it's made for right-handed folks, when we are left-handed at the table. It would have been better if they cut the bread for us! Every time we have gone since, the service is subpar. Great food though.

MM's Gyros Kebab is a casual Turkish eatery located in Hartford, CT. The restaurant offers a variety of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern dishes, with a focus on gyros and platters. Despite being a hidden gem, it boasts an extensive menu with generous portion sizes. Customers have praised the flavorful Greek dishes and the friendly staff. While the place is cash-only, it provides an array of add-ons for its lamb or chicken combo platters.
Went after a long time with my friend. We heard the owner is changed so we wanted to try it out. But honestly, the food is way more fresh. And perfect portion size. I ordered chicken kebabs which was done perfectly. My friend got beef kebabs which he said was perfectly seasoned and well cooked. Very impressed. We will be back again. Very friendly customer service too.

Another hidden gem in Hartford. Not very busy but has a ton to offer, especially the menu. Was very surprised walking in and seeing how much they had available. I ordered the chicken salad and kabob combo which came out to about 30 dollars total. Very generous portion sizes, I ordered ahead and it was ready upon arrival. Great Greek flavors you want in a Mediterranean restaurant. I was extremely satisfied and will check them out again soon.
Lamarr E — Google review
I ordered the lamb plate, baklava, and falafel gyro. The Turkish pilaf was amazing, beet salad, taziki, lamb was all very good. The lady preparing the order was very sweet. We ordered take out and it was quick and easy. They have a nice dine in space with clean bathrooms. Lunch was very inexpensive. I highly recommend trying them! Food here is Halal! So the baklava and falafel were not as good as we hoped. I still recommend trying them
Mubashar A — Google review
Gyro is in the name so one would expect at the very least quality gyros that are flavorful. Sadly the meat is dry, overcooked and lacking both seasoning and flavor. The lamb came with gristle on multiple pieces. The pitas were microwaved. The sauces were also flavorless. Skip this place. It's edible but barely and has clearly seen better days.
Shannon C — Google review
This place is cash only, but food is amazing, one of the few Mediterranean options in the Hartford financial area. There are a wide variety of add-ons if you go with a basic lamb or chicken combo platter. Most of their lunch entree menu items are pretty heavy so don’t expect to be light on your feet for a gym session in the afternoon.

Love this place. Lots of variety I especially like the mixed plate with the beet salad and cabbage salad. Anytime I'm in Hartford I go there and they remember me even when my visits are months apart. Hard working family owned business

This delightful spot offers an array of delicious breakfast options, with generous portions that are sure to satisfy even the heartiest appetites. Diners rave about the fluffy pancakes and flavorful omelets made from fresh ingredients, complemented by perfectly seasoned home fries. The friendly staff adds to the welcoming atmosphere, ensuring that your dining experience is enjoyable from start to finish.
Every time I stop into Hartford i eat breakfast here. Locally owned. Food is fantastic each time and the prices are worth the portions! ( It's a cash only place)

It took 30 minutes to get two meals. My husband ordered an egg and bacon sandwich with onions, and he specifically said "no cheese"(he's lactose intolerant). It came out with cheese and no onions. When they brought it back out, it was just bacon on toast! They gave me jelly for my toast, but no knife to spread it with. The waitress repeatedly apologized to us for the hour we were there, but never appeared to make any effort to stop making mistakes. I would have guessed that this was their first day open and they just hadn't trained their staff adequately, but given the state of disrepair on the inside, I'm guessing that's not the case. I'd recommend steering clear of this place.

The omelette we had was absolutely amazing and huge! The ingredients were fresh, home fries were seasoned well and the toast they use was delicious. I would absolutely recommend this spot to anyone wanting a large breakfast that is made to perfection.

A nice little spot in Hartford. Their serving sizes are very generous and the quality of the food is great. The staff is friendly and polite and the service is also good. I just enjoyed a nice fluffy huge pancake and bacon. Both were good. Not a fan of whatever their syrup is but that's an individual preference. My friend got an omelette with potatoes and bread, which was all huge (wish I got a better picture of his plate). He too enjoyed his meal. I would definitely recommend. I removed 1 star only because I wasn't a fan of the syrup and the prices are a bit high. Normally for what I paid I could get bacon, eggs and a pancake. But again, it's worth going to in my opinion if you're looking to invest in a local restaurant and not to chain or corporation.

I've been coming here since I was a kid. The food is great, and drinks/sweets are a perfect combo. Highly recommend getting a coco-bite with a beef patty, cocobread. It goes great with a pineapple soda. Take home the hardo bread.

The color of the filing was not great. Pastry was thick and dry. Otherwise the service was good but my beef patty was maybe frozen.

I stopped here today to grab myself a Scotts’ Jamaican Bakery beef patty right from the source as I was passing through. The staff was efficient and was able to get me in & out quickly. My Jamaican beef patty was probably the best one I’ve ever had in my life! The area could/does get sketchy at times... There is a cooler inside with items for sale to go, that are in somewhat of a bulk packaging, which is pretty cool.

I'm a Hartford native who lives out of town since '96. Growing up on Albany Ave, Kent St, Adams st., homestead ave, Bellevue square, stowe village, and all parts in between, the one consistent thing was Scott's Bakery. The family, the bakery traditions, and the consistency in the food, patties and bread, are why its my first stop every time I come home. Since its construction, I've been enjoying my patty and bread! Thank you Scotts family!

Starbucks is a renowned coffeehouse chain originating from Seattle, offering its distinctive roasts, light snacks, and WiFi access. Customers praise the exceptional service provided by the friendly and helpful employees at one of its locations in Hartford. The baristas are commended for their positive energy and dedication to serving the community, particularly those coming from the nearby hospital.
I had went down to grab a food and drink item for my wife after she had been in labor. The staff member who was on the floor had congratulated me on the arrival of our newborn. The service was fantastic and I will continue to go to this location for the remainder of my wife’s stay at the hospital. Thank you for your staffs’ kindness!
Mariah P — Google review
Firstly, I worked at Starbucks for years so I know they got y’all messed up when you go in here. I watched the lady that got her drink before me have an issue too.. one that could’ve been easily resolved by a simple action by the barista. Then I stood there for 20 minutes after having ordered in advance on the app to not be acknowledged once while standing there then had to argue with them about the fact that I did in fact, put an order in at this location and I have proof on the app. That I had to show them the drink recipe and they still got it wrong, my coffee is gross and my time was wasted. Terrible service, terrible experience. Do not recommend. Quite literally any other Starbucks.
Abbie B — Google review
I'm extremely disappointed with the service at this Starbucks location. My drink had spoiled creamer or milk, and when I requested a replacement, they just refilled it with ice. I feel like I wasted my money, and this experience was frustrating. This location really needs to do better.

El Pollo Guapo, with two locations in the Greater Hartford area, is known for its amazing rotisserie chicken and creative Mexican options. The restaurant offers plenty of gluten-free choices, including delicious tortilla chips made in a dedicated gluten-free fryer. It started as a popular food truck in Bushnell Park before opening a brick-and-mortar shop at Front Street.
Glad I listened to other reviews and got the crispy brussel sprouts. They're so crispy to the point where the texture is like roasted seaweed. The dark meat chicken was good but needs to be eaten with the sauce. Overall I was satisfied with my meal for $14.
Eric C — Google review
Always a busy spot at lunchtime, but the wait time is never too long, usually less than 10 mins. Their bowls are delicious and recommend. Friendly and and attentive staff. The Almost Legal bowl with plantains is delicious.
Seán G — Google review
Ordered a 1/4 chicken with Brussels and handsome rice. Specifically got dark meat because I don't like dry chicken. The chicken was dry and flavorless. The Brussels sprouts were greasy, overcooked, and underseasoned. The rice was good. The prices would be reasonable if the chicken was good, and there's a nice selection of interesting items on the menu. I'll maybe try it again in hope they were having an off day.
Michelle S — Google review
A little pricey for what you get, but everything in my bowl besides the chicken was great. The brussel sprouts were the highlight since they were almost crispy enough to taste like dried seaweed or chips. The chicken was really dry and only a couple of pieces were unceremoniously placed on top of everything else.

First time here, all the way from New York City. The place is super clean, which is my number one priority. The food is unbelievable, and I’m so glad I chose this spot! Much love! Keep it up! 💪

Never been here before, but the staff was super helpful in my decision on what to order. I was gonna do all greens but decided to do half rice! I thought because they just opened that everything would be super fresh, but that wasn’t the case. Don’t get me wrong, it was delicious, but the chicken was cold. How is fresh rotisserie chicken cold?? Anyways, you get a two out of five, plus I watched my bowl sit on the counter for 5 mins before someone put a top on it and handed it to me! SMH… it was $14 dollars for that little bowl.
Big N — Google review
One of my favorite local spots for delicious, quick, feel good fresh food. I love the variety of ingredients overall. The dazed and confused bowl and guapo nachos (perfect snack) are my favs. Pollo Guapo are my go-to when catering work meetings and always get rave reviews. My teams always ask "Where did you get this from?" ❣️ The flavors and food options are better and different than boring sandwiches and the service is top notch. I often work with the manager Bruce. He is so friendly and accommodating and always makes it happen with a smile!! He's saved me in a clutch! 😅 The staff are also friendly. I highly reccomend this location.

Just wanted to say thank you baby for the cucumber salad I put that on my burrito the mama burrito and made it even better just a thought if you grind up that cucumber salad and add some chicken to it with some of those sauces I believe that would be a burrito off the chain but the one I'm eating now is remarkable

El Sarape is a Mexican restaurant located at 931 Broad St. Hartford, Connecticut. The establishment offers an authentic Mexican dining experience with delicious food and a friendly staff. The parking is convenient, and the atmosphere provides a full cultural experience. The menu descriptions are in English, making it easy for non-Spanish speakers to understand the offerings. Additionally, there are plenty of seating options including private areas for those who prefer more privacy while enjoying their meal.
Authentic Mexican food that was so delicious! It's a definite place for me to return to. Parking was fairly easy on Broad St since it was immediately right in front of the restaurant. If it's your first time parking here just be mindful when leaving since it's a fairly busy, narrow road. Staff member (possible owner?) who waited on us was super friendly and attentive during our visit. We were provided with freshly made chips and salsa as we waited for our food to arrive. I ordered the Nachos Supreme with ground beef and it was a hearty amount of food. I normally can put food away at lunchtime but this was more than I could handle. Super flavorful! The portion size was definitely meant for two people and was at a cheap price for $12.

Delicious! Couldn't decide on breakfast or lunch so I had breakfast (huevos rancharos) and my companion had lunch (chicken burrito). We started with chips and salsa which were good. They provided a bucket (see pic) of sauce. Lol! We got our meals, both were delicious. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the refried beans were really good. Only thing that would make the huevos better would be a little cheese. My companion loved her chicken burrito especially the crema on top. Clearly we are sauce people! And the last mention is their hot sauces. They provided a green (verde) sauce and a red (roja) sauce. The roja was fab-u-lous! We very much enjoyed our meals.

One of a kind gym in the central location of harford, if you're looking for mexican cuisine atmosphere in the full experience of the culture, this is the place to go.There is plenty I mean plenty of booths and tables to eat at. They also have a second area that wraps around to the back with TV an extra. Just in case you don't like to be seen, if you want a private seating That's how I am. I like to sit and enjoy my food. They also do orders on grubhub. If you can't get there, I highly recommend looking them up in other platforms if you cannot make it there. But to get the full experience, you need to go and sit, enjoy yourself bathe in the beauty of this place. Like I said, it is a gem 💎 if you are a foodie like I am, we're just looking for a romantic place to bring the misses or mister. Or even just a good family time out, there's parking on the side. If you can't get in the main road and just live life. I can't wait to go back

First time I walked into this place I was highly impressed and still is. The staff was friendly. My family and I do not speak Spanish yet it was easy to communicate and know what we wanted. It also help that most of the meals I know from my parents being from Belize and eating most of the food off the menu (description on the menu is also in English). Second, the food was delicious! Trumbull Kitchen is a sophisticated and upscale dining establishment featuring modern industrial design elements, such as leather-covered walls and custom lighting. It's an ideal spot for both business lunches and intimate dinners. Executive Chef Chris Torla showcases his culinary skills by incorporating locally sourced farm-to-table ingredients into cosmopolitan comfort dishes that defy traditional ethnic boundaries. While the service and cuisine receive high praise, some suggest that the tables and decor could benefit from a refresh.
First time here and it was absolutely amazing! The atmosphere, food, and service were exceptional. Barbara ( but I called her Barbie) was an amazing waitress and was also attentive and helpful. The food tasted delicious, the presentation was beautiful, and the cocktails were delicious! I had a party of 6 and we all enjoy our food and the service. We appreciate everything you guys did to make this a wonderful experience.

The service was good. The food was mixed, some dishes were better than others. The lengua tacos were decent, and the caramelized onions added a nice touch. The Chiang Mai Curried Noodles and Marinated Hanger Steak were my favorites both were very tasty and well seasoned. I'd definitely order them again.👌🏽 Personally, I found the Herb Grilled Skirt Steak too bitter, and the TK Classic Angus Cheeseburger lacked flavor. The fries were good, though. The kids' menu cheese pizza wasn't great the kids didn't like it.

The food overall is not good. Lacks a lot of flavor. The kids cheese pizza is a cheap frozen pizza for like 10 bucks. We ordered 2 steaks one of then tasted horrible the other one was really good. The language tacos good, the burgers no flavor whatsoever. but overall you have to navigate though the menu to actually have something good for that price, really not worth it. Honest opinion.

We tried a few small plates. The filet bites were excellent, the taquitos and spinach dip weren't anything special. One person in our party got the fried chicken sandwich which was not good. It was overcooked and dry, too much breading for thin chicken filet. The service was a bit slow although only had patrons at 5 or 6 tables.

Restaurant
Nestled in West Hartford, the Quaker Diner is a charming eatery that transports you back to 1931 with its vintage brick exterior and cozy atmosphere. This beloved spot is particularly famous for its breakfast offerings, featuring mouthwatering classics like fluffy pancakes and hearty hash browns. Upon entering, guests can choose between comfortable booths or the classic counter seating, where you can enjoy watching the skilled staff at work. While their lunch menu exists, it’s clear that breakfast steals the spotlight here.
First time eating at this diner. I love diner food because it's cooked fresh to order. This place is small but the atmosphere is perfect. It's surrounded with photos of the past years and the decor is perfect. The food OUTSTANDING!!!!! I will definitely eat here again. The staff is friendly and prompt.

This cute old school diner has a simple menu and the food comes out fresh and hot. But there is nothing that really makes this place stand out. We got a pumpkin muffin, the feta spinach omelette and the eggs and corn beef hash. The muffin was the most stand out item, it was a sweet corn bread base with pumpkin spice flavor mixed in. The omelette was exactly what it says it is, nothing more nothing less. The has was a good hash and egg combo. The home fries seemed to be seasoned with curry which gives them a different flavor then normal but not one that I would look for. The jam that was at the table seemed to be very old it all tasted like it had spoiled.

Loved my breakfast. The home fries were my favorite part. I had the peaches and blueberry pancakes which were super delicious so just imagine how much better the potatoes are. They were actually cooked all the way through. The coffee was great. Western omelet was delicious. Its a super small place so my party of 3 had to sit at the counter and we do not regret it at all. It was nice to watch the ladies and gentlemen behind it doing their thing. I am sad we didnt get our server's name because she was lovely and friendly. 10/10 *Parking is annoying. Park on the street.

I have always wanted to check this place out, so when I had the chance, I did. This place really feels like it stepped out of the past, from the building to the layout. This diner is a true artifact. After entering from one of the two(!) enterences, you can choose to sit at a surprisingly comfortable booth or at the ever classic counter. While they have a decent lunch menu, you need to ask for it specifically as they seem to promote their breakfasty foods. I found the bacon cheeseburger to be quite nice and not cooked to a briquet as some places are want to do. The fries were not my favorite style. I was told that the French Toast was not very good. I have nothing to add to that as I did not try it personally. The iced tea was a little disappointing; I suspect they use Lipton tea, which is well known to be one of the worst teas. All in all, I think I would go back and try something else, such as the meatloaf sandwich or Ruben. I also think I'll sit at the counter to check that out.

Nearly 100 year old dining experience. Great history laden diner going back to 1931 when it was shipped to West Hartford, Connecticut. It was run by a family for many years afterwards. It has been kept in original clean historical condition for all these years while the city continued to grow and modernize around it. Beautiful original decor with original cast iron counter stools, tile floors and real wood everywhere. Cozy decor, but as with old diners, it is small with 6 cubical tables and a dozen counter stools. Great competitively priced breakfasts, well made. The free parking is available next to the diner, but is limited. Note: Parking area shows as a tow-away zone, but is not, as the diner rents space here, as well. Very clean restrooms, still in original look of 1931. Just beautiful. Does not have a ramp for access.

It's what a diner should be. We were a party of four for breakfast and everyone enjoyed their food and the atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and the food is excellent. The service was really fast. The prices are very reasonable. We waited just a few minutes for table on Sunday. We will be back.

Great diner experience. It's obvious how they've stayed open for so long in spite of all the restaurants around it. Above is my old review. I came back here after 3 years and the waitstaff is rude and slow as hell now. What a shame. It's also a lot more expensive.

I've been to the West Hartford location 3 times in 2 consecutive days after excellent experiences at the Middletown location. The 1st was OK the second was better & the 3rd in the evening was the absolute worst. I went to the bathroom and was stared at by staff..then asked for ID to pick up my order. I forgot to indicate utensils online and when I asked for them I was told there were no forks but I could have a spoon. My order was missing ingredients.. I got the roasted garlic cream tortellini with shrimp and steak..it had plenty of salt with no hint of garlic... it had literally bits of zucchini ..no spinach ..no mushrooms..no parmesan.. no parsley... it did have the steak and shrimp. Because I was already treated like garbage I didn't go back again to complain. I should be able to use the restroom and request utensils and expect the ingredients that are on the menu. AND when I request my order by name I don't need to present an ID for what was an incorrectly prepared salty order anyway! I find this location convenient...however I do not recommend the evening at all. It's OK during the day but at night expect the worst!

We have come here at least a dozen times over the years. The food is typically what you expect. It’s not bad in a pinch. I used to love the Thai soup they had but it was taken off the menu. The dining area tends to get a little grungy. Today, the tables had crumbs and the one I picked turns out was sticky. Kinda gross in hindsight. I also never understood restaurants that sell Mexican coke, or other bottles that require an opener, and never one. Chipotle does the same thing. I’d say N&C is worth a visit in a pinch. Takeout is better.

This place is disgusting the assistant manager was very rude, She was upset because I repeated myself to make sure she got my order , And told me she wouldn’t take my order if I keep talking, Then when I received my food it was no meat I ask for and two pieces of spinach, I been going here for years I stop because they have gotten worst i wanted to give it a try after not being there in 3 years I explained how it was for a baby and you should see how disgusting the food look sauce was so watery . Assistant manager was so rude I can’t believe someone would do that to a child evil. Please don’t go here customer service is disgusting.

Really wanted to enjoy this. The advertising and store front is enticing and made me make the stop for lunch. The food quality is extremely poor. The chicken tortellini has no chicken and 15 tortellini for a $12 meal. Not ideal. Very salty, sauce was like water, and it was missing the chicken. Great concept, subpar service execution. Much better lunch options in the same plaza.

I am fairly new to Noodles & Co and today was only my 3rd time coming in to pick up some take out. I have been eating healthier and really loved the idea of the Zoodles or Zucchini noodles since it has less carbs. I ordered the roasted garlic 'CREAM' sauce zoodles with grilled chicken and asked for ONE modification which was NO mushroom. I received my order and drove home so happy to dive into my treat for doing so well and sticking to my diet all week. Boy was I disappointed when I began eating!! Along with the mushrooms that I asked them to leave off, they also left off the tomato and parmesan cheese. My "cream" sauce which should be a small amount of thick luscious sauce that coats the noodles was a WATERY MESS that went halfway up the bowl and resembled a soup! And if that wasn't bad enough, I think they didn't have enough zoodles to fill the regular size bowl so they randomly added pieces of diced Zucchini as well. It was my 3rd time ordering this and it has never been so disgusting. I don't know that I can trust going back unfortunately if they could be that careless. Good concept but for me being able to count on a consistent product is important. Shame.

Love their noodles and their quick service. Spicy Korean noodles is my favorite (you can ask them to replace the beef with chicken or tofu). Little disappointed with their discontinuation with their cheese garlic bread.

The pesto cavatappi was alright. Very little pesto, no Parmesan topping and the Parmesan crusted chicken was burnt. I have eaten and do eat at different restaurants across the US and this was the worst. The shrimp scampi was great.

I would go here definitely again over and over thank you guys. You did a great job!!

Pizza portion sizes are delightful and wings are fire. I do want to mention I came in for a pick-up last time and watched the cashier tip herself from my debit. Which unfortunately was enough to make me not want to come back if I'm being forced to pay extra to pick up my own order. I would've tipped if she asked but she didn't even look me in the face and I could see her do it but she acted like I was blind. First time tipping culture ruined my experience all together because I'm a contractor so I know what it's like not to be tipped. I would understand if she was serving me or delivering it but why is there even a tip feature for pick up orders anyways?...

30 years down the road, and here I am again at my old eating stomping grounds . I walked in to a familiar, and the familiar aromas all around. What really struck me was the same old family atmosphere even though I didn't recognize anyone except maybe the lead pizza maker. I ordered my favorite 8in roast beef and turkey grinder with lettuce tomato onions mail and oregano. It came precisely as I had ordered. Thin slabs of roast beef and turkey oozing out of the barn with the lettuce tomato on top. I dove right into it, and wasn't surprised at all at the wonderful taste and the consistency of it. Anytime you want a grinder I would not hesitate to check right in with Angelina. This place is a local legend in its time and looks like it might not stop for a long time. Right there past the fork in the road of new park and prospect avenues, it's easy to find and it's one of the greatest pizza joints in town.

Chipotle Mexican Grill is a vibrant and casual dining spot that specializes in delicious Mexican cuisine. Here, you can customize your meal with an array of options like burritos, tacos, and bowls to suit your taste. Recently, I had the pleasure of experiencing exceptional service from a friendly staff member who expertly crafted my bowl without me even needing to ask for extras—everything was just right! My visit was notably better than previous experiences from over a year ago.
I don’t know her name, but the girl working tonight 7/14. She was amazing. Very accommodating. I came in close to close and wanted a drink that needed to be made and she made it for me 110% amazing customer service.

We always enjoy Chipotle for an affordable meal of great food with big portions – you know what to expect. We grabbed lunch to go. After 1 order of steak, they told us that they ran out of steak – at 11:45am on a Saturday and the place was empty – really? And no, it will be 5-10 minutes, just a we ran out of steak. While checking out, I asked the cashier to redeem my points and she misunderstood and just entered my account to obtain points. Food was good as always but staff left something to be desired. The bathroom required a code to enter but they shared when asked. We parked in the back and the backdoor is locked from the inside so you can exit but not enter.

First they didn’t have anything in stock not a fork spoon or cup holder. The tables? Dirty .. trash everywhere!!! The staff looked miserable no greeting whatever. I went in line to order my food I see all the workers being rude to all the customers giving them a hard if we wanted extra items( I asked for their name and they refused to tell me) Not everyone is penny pinching we come for the good food and clean establishment $20-30$ is nothing so it’s offensive for the workers to act if so it’s such a big deal to receive the extra items that us customers want to pay for. My son who is 7 months, my bestfriend and I went to go enjoy lunch and employee understand my order in English.. cool.. it was time to check out and she’s speaking Spanish discussing an order which I’m paying for… I say “ excuse me can I know what you guys are saying about my order?) Some plus size lady with a braided ponytail goes ballistic saying I’m racist and the worker doesn’t know English . However if she doesn’t know English how can she understand the order I told her?? ( in English by the way) Anyway the so called manager a dark skin women with lashes an a septum piercing were very belligerent to me , threw away my order and told us to leave. All because I wanted to know what I was being charged and discussed about my order? Despicable!!!!!!! In front of my new born child they shouted I was racist when they could of just politely translated ! As a paying customer I have the right to know , instead of the so called manager who didn’t even appear to be one , defusing the situation she escalated everything. You can tell the workers all had attitudes, all the food was burnt , no one was smiling , it was quiet. I plan on emailing the district manager I couldn’t believe the service i experienced. Apart of me just cooks at home now because customer service these days suck!!!! I went there Saturday afternoon around 12-30ish . So whatever shift was on that day was horrible!!

I usually enjoy eating from here (Farmington Ave) but tonight was horrible. The female server was very unpleasant and acted as if she didn't want to be there. I ordered a bowl and a burrito, the rice in the bowl was uncooked, hard grains and inedible. I had to separate the rice and throw it out. The burrito had no rice thank God. The decent thing about tonight was the cashier was very nice. . WASTE OF MONEY!!!!!!!

Very stingy with chicken, the person who did my order I asked them for extra chicken and when they would grab the spoon for the extra that I pay 3 dollars for, it was about 4 little squares of chicken.. are you kidding me?… and the other day when we ordered on DoorDash, they got everything wrong!!! My husband ordered brown rice and guacamole and brown beans, they didn’t add no guac and gave him brown rice and no beans.. that’s not fair if I have to pay for guac, you guys basically just took my money for nothing.

Nestled in a cozy corner, Park Lane Pizza is a beloved spot that serves up an array of delicious offerings, including pizza, baked pasta dishes, and grinders. While some visitors have found the pizza style to be different from what they’re used to—leading to mixed reviews—the grinders have garnered praise for their flavor. The casual atmosphere makes it a great place for takeout or a relaxed meal with friends.
We really enjoy the pizza here. Probably our favorite place in the area to get our take out pizza/salad. The place could use a renovation but don't let that stop you for trying the food.

I got pizza, a salad, and a veggie grinder here for the first time. Pizza was underwhelming but maybe I’m just not accustomed to this style of pizza. Salad was a nice portion, but some of the veggies weren’t too fresh. Grinder was pretty good! I don’t think we will be back for pizza, but maybe for grinders. Customer service was fantastic.

The pizza is great. We like it better than most places around WH. But just beware of getting delivery. Do not use the Slice app they do delivery through. This is the second time we've had our pizza delayed by over 30 min when using the app. It's been an hour since we ordered and it's still not here. Last time we had to get a full refund from the app. If ordering from here, just pick it up if you can. We wanted to give it another chance but we've finally learned our lesson.

This is a very very very busy place. On a Saturday night. I would plan about an hour for your pizza. It did seem they had a very booming pickup business. I don't know how long the wait was for a pizza for pickup, but it was about 45 minutes to get our pizza.

The return to Park Lane Pizza last Sunday was an eager one. Not just because of the one year closing and final re-opening, but to meet old West Hartford friends (there were eight of us) for a special get together. As far as restaurants go, sometimes memories have rose colored glasses. First thing, I stepped up to the door to get in, and the sign said closed. That was an accident, they were open. We found a booth and were dismayed at the size of the booth. It was old and cramped with a 1970's Juke box that did not work that was an obtrusive obstacle to the table area. We had to chase down the waitress to get an order in, despite this being a VERY small place. We of course ordered the pizza. We had pepperoni and peppers. The pizza was average tasting with mediocre sauce and cheese. There were eight of us, so we had separate checks. We waited for a long time for the bill until we found out we have to go to the register to pay. For people who ordered drinks, none of were approached by staff and asked if we wanted another drink. When I finally arrived at the register, they charged me $51 for a $32 bill. The lady did not know how to erase that. She turned to a colleague and he said he "didn’t know about these things". She ended up giving me the cash difference. The time spent with old friends was a delight. The experience at Park Lane Pizza as a restaurant was one I would not want to repeat.

The staff/owners were super nice and friendly. Very interesting style of pizza. At first it looks like a traditional pan style, but the crunch is real, you could hear me bite into it a block away. Low hydration. Light sauce. Unfortunately the cheese is not very good quality - congealed quickly. Overall definitely worth a stop. This one will have you a bit confused but in a good way!

Geez, there are reviews on here that are so bad, it made me wonder. But the restaurant I used to get a meatball grinder from changed hands awhile back, and it changed for the worse, IMO, so I needed another option. I tried Jimmy's, and I it was good. I liked the grinder and also the Greek salad. Both were good-sized servings for the price. The order was ready for pickup right on time, and the staff seemed to have things well in hand. Went to this restaurant on Saturday night ordered lasagna the waitress brought us burnt bread it was black on one end and you could smell it was burnt she had the nerve to ask us if we still wanted it. Then she brought the bread 20 minutes before the lasagna so it was cold. Then we got the lasagna it was in a plate floating in grease we asked the waitress if she could dump the grease out it took her 10 minutes when we got the lasagna it was frozen in the middle. Then she brought us a bill for $47 all we had was a soda and a salad. We called the owner and told him what happened and he said next time if the food is cold we should ask her to warm it up. I will never eat here again

Jimmie’s use to be a great place for a pizza when under the old owners, but has lost this reviewer going forward. Last night we stopped in for a Jimmie’s Special pizza. When we got home we were all jazzed to dig in but when we opened the box it was basically a cheese pizza. The vegetables were on the bottom of the pie, and the meat? Well we had to do some searching to find it. The crust was more like bread dough, hard to cut and chew. The worst part was when we called to voice our concerns about the pizza, we were told “oh well”. Seriously? Jimmie’s is off our list. Caveat emptor.

The parking lot is a little hectic. There is a parking garage, and almost all of the parking spaces are for compact or small cars. I was not driving a small or compact car and found the parking space for small cars to be very spacious. In the grocery store the produce is fresh. Many of the employees seem either over worked or just like they don't enjoy their job. The pizza guy said it would be 30 minutes for 2 pizzas and it was like he expected me to back out, but when I didn't... I feel like he gave me a look as if I weren't going to come back and pick them up. I of course did. But to think that that has happened to him... The Amazon return people are very pleasant. The self checkout had a massive line. But there were 2 cashiers open and no one there. I found my cashier to be pleasant enough. I was tapping my credit card on some other thing.,. A palm reader or something. And she was very polite in correcting me.

I haven't been here in about 8 years and I was pleasantly surprised to see that it did not go downhill. Still very clean with great healthy foods. Prices didn't skyrocket..... While it's on the pricey side, it's not highway robbery. You get what you pay for. I love the coffee/tea bar in the front of the store. I got a lemonaid hibiscus tea. Absolutely delicious. I got some pizza at the pizza "bar", and I also got some chicken and Mac and cheese at the buffet. Almost everything was exactly as I remember it and that was refreshing. I will definitely go back. It's nice to feel like I'm getting good healthy food.

I took a two day trip to West Hartford, CT; to visit a 97yr. old dear friend of mine, Ms. Doris Artist. I stopped at Whole Foods because I've always loved their selection and the array of products that are always on shelf and well stocked. I brought some pastries, vitamins, some of that gorgeous smelling soap, a body cleanse or as some may say, "A Rejuvenation." Either way, "New Life," has a product to help get those toxins and radicals out of your body that keeps you feeling weighed down. My purpose of going in was to get either a Spinach or Carrot juice but looking around, I was so impressed and forgot my main purpose. Oh, well it happens to the best of us!! Always stop in this store when you're in West Hartford visiting. Why? Because you will always find something you need or desire! "Whole Foods Market," is the representation of what a market should always look like, - "Clean, Well stocked in Produce, Vegetables, Bread, Desserts,- must I go on?..... I love this store anywhere it's located and I'm sure you will too. Naomi Tucker - "Turtles!"

Wayback Burgers is a delightful quick-service chain that brings a nostalgic vibe with its retro decor. Known for their made-to-order burgers and indulgent milkshakes, this eatery offers a menu that caters to burger enthusiasts. The standout item is the double cheeseburger, which features two juicy patties nestled in a soft bun reminiscent of both brioche and potato bread. Diners rave about the rich flavors of their chocolate and strawberry shakes, making them an ideal pairing with any burger choice.
Was amazing food came on time hot and ready to go service was outstanding definitely a must try especially the 9 Patty burger

To be honest, outside of sonics, this is one of the worst experiences I ever had. Outside of the milkshake and the bacon cheddar cheese curds, everything else was disgusting. Everything fried was beyond soggy, the burger was mushy and flavorless, almost like chewing bread and water. The strawberry hibiscus was super watered down. Even the tater tots. Ive never been to a burger place where even the tater tots were soggy. It just wasn't good. Its sad because I spent over $100. Hard to justify ever eating here again to be honest especially this being my first time ever trying wayback.

There are so many newfangled burger joints nowadays, and finding one that's really worth it can be a challenge. Wayback burgers here on New Britain Avenue is one of the worthy ones. From the time you step in you can tell it's a real hamburger place like in the old days. I was immediately greeted with a smile from the lead person behind the counter. He gave me ample time to peruse the menu, and he offered a suggestion or two. I ended up getting a classic burger with all the fixins, and a nice pile of french fries. The burger was near perfectly cooked and I enjoyed all the essentials dripping out from the sides of the bun. The fries were a little bit stiff, but long and slender, and the portion was large. I sat down, ate and watched the workers all Hovered over their stations like busy Burger bees. I will certainly return to wayback when my appetite calls for it. One should not hesitate to visit, it's easy to find right on the corner of New Britain avenue and South main Street, W. Ffd, right next to Dunkin' donuts. And don't forget to bring your old fashioned hamburger appetite!!

Save yourself the trouble and just go somewhere else unless you want to be ripped off. The place is dirty and the staff aren't very friendly. We spent $75 for 4 burgers, fries, drinks and one milkshake. That's absurd and to top it all off they're lying on their prices and sizes. They are selling 16.9 fl ounces sodas for $3.99 and charging you for a 20 fl ounce. You can go to Walmart and get a 6 pack of 16.9 fl ounces for $5. When it was brought to their attention they said it's the taxes that made the price go up. I definitely don't recommend at all

Delish First Time and well worth it. Kids had an excellent time. Staff was attentive and courteous. Milk shake delicious, chicken and burgers very good. Lemonade reminded me of my childhood. Hope to make it back someday.

The regular cheeseburger is good. Much nicer than somewhere like McDonald's, but not worth going out of your way for. The cheese curds are great, though I've never had them somewhere like Wisconsin to know for sure. The fries are fine. The chocolate milkshake is ok, but the chocolate taste isn't quite what I want in a chocolate milkshake.

The burgers aren’t the same, dry hard overcooked burgers!!! Five guys it is until further notice!! That’s too bad I use to like Wayback

Wayback Burgers is very high quality, and I felt it was a little better than Shake Shack because of a better tasting bun. They had a 2 for 1 Weds ad coupon to build business, so I finally tried them with a friend. The traditional 2 patty double cheese burger is basically a smash burger served on a very tasty soft bun, which tasted like a cross between a brioche bun & a potato bun. The chocolate & strawberry shakes we ordered were very, very good! Perfect with the burger. We did not order french fries. I definately reccommend trying Wayback Burgers..!! To be very honest all 3 chains are "copying eachother." Wayback, Shake Shack, 5 Guys Burgers and the Chili Cheese fries are right off the "Original" gourmet burgers "Johnny Rockets -Burgers, Shakes & Fries" that started it all in Los Angeles in the 1980s when I went to the original 1st restaurant. So.."Yes." Give Wayback a try and if the "Chili Cheese Fries" on my next visit are really good..? And the next burger is consistent and really good...then, I would really think it would be hard to choose "the best" but, the "bun" at Wayback is a touch better than the others. I went to the West Hartford, CT location just off I-84 freeway.

Pizza restaurant
Farmington Avenue Pizza House is a delightful spot that has recently come under new management, bringing a fresh vibe and an inviting atmosphere. Diners have praised the friendly owners who treat customers like family, enhancing the overall experience. The menu features a variety of options, including juicy chicken fingers with a perfect crunch and flavorful garlic bread. While some guests noted discrepancies in their orders—like different toppings than expected—the overall feedback remains positive.
This restaurant is under new management, and I've eaten the chicken fingers so many times in the last three weeks, they are juicy center and lightly crunchy on the outside which make it amazingly good, love the garlic bread of course no cheese for me, and the Caesar Salad has a smooth not to fatty dressing which is delicious. Please come visit and enjoy.

We couldn’t have asked for a better pizza delivery for our son’s 3rd birthday party! From start to finish, the service was amazing—fast, friendly, and right on time. The pizzas arrived hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious, making both the kids and adults happy.

This restaurant is under new management and I love this place now! I love their turkey club and chicken tenders and salad, always so consistent with their food as well. The workers are always so nice to me as well. Come and try!

Food tasted fine - first time ordering here, meatlovers and wings. 3 stars for the following ; Ordered by phone and quoted 25 minutes but I arrived on time to pickup and the pizza wasn't made yet. Masks below noses, no gloves. Meatlovers on the menu listed toppings of ham, bacon, and pepperoni - toppings on the pizza provided was hamburg, pork sausage, and pepperoni. Wings on the menu listed as tossed in Buffalo sauce but condition of the provided wings was unsauced with sauce on the side. Maybe if you're regularly ordering knowing what to expect you would be fine as the food was cooked right, but the surprises were not what I wanted.

First time ever at this pizza spot. After speaking with the owners I found out, it’s under new management. The way the owners communicate with there customers is like family. The food was great. The owners took care of my family of five with free desserts and coffee. I recommend this spot to anyone.

Summary: In a state buzzing with excellent Italian and pizza restaurants, Farmington Avenue Pizza House continues to fall behind in quality and service. Menu items never taste fresh and is reminiscent of old ingredients that are nearing the end of its shelf life. Pizza crusts are dull in texture and taste like frozen counterparts. Chicken parm grinders were also disappointing as the chicken was dry and sauce was very sour. The reviewer has visited the location sporadically over the years and is running out of desire to give another chance. Avoid: Chicken parm and pizzas. ⭐⭐ - Poor, worth reconsidering

Got a meatball grinder and Greek salad to go today. Unfortunately, when I got home, I discovered that the salad had no dressing. It’s supposed to be included, right?

Great food and great owners. Will continue to order the delicious pizza!
