Red 36 Bar & Grill is a breezy waterfront eatery and bar located at the Seaport Marine in historic downtown Mystic. The restaurant offers an upscale American menu with a focus on seafood, served in a laid-back atmosphere.
Another amazing dining experience today for Happy Hour! Upon being seated at a high top, we were promptly greeted by Emma. She was attentive and yet allowed us to truly enjoy our time there without making us feel rushed. The margaritas were delicious and plentiful. The appetizers were and are always on point and delectable. Red is absolutely our most favorite place to frequent for Happy Hour!
Tracey M — Google review
We went here for a late lunch on a Sunday of Labor Day weekend and only had to wait 20 minutes for a table. They also have an on tap bar while you wait! The service was great and food was even better. I got the hot lobster roll with fries and it was a 10/10. So buttery and delicious. My partner got the paella which was also delicious. The Hugo spritz cocktail is also so refreshing. Overall our experience here was great and couldn’t recommend coming here enough!
Alison S — Google review
When stopping in Mystic for the day, we were looking for a happy hour spot. This was directly in the harbor, just a few minutes away from the main downtown. It was a lovely ambience and we enjoyed the happy hour specials and chatting with the bartender Kristen. She was very friendly and attentive and we enjoyed learning more about Mystic! This place has outdoor seating, bar seating, and inside seats. Great views of the boats no matter where you sit!
Jeff — Google review
Gorgeous views on the outside deck. Actually gorgeous views anywhere! Fish and chips was outstanding. I loved the Chowder but it was a little too thick. Met some awesome people at the bar. Bartender was very accommodating. My lemon drop was terrific-and its NOT easy to perfect!
Faith L — Google review
Red 36 in Mystic is highly regarded for its vibrant waterfront setting, diverse seafood dishes, and lively atmosphere. Most diners praise the fresh lobster roll, which is a standout item—served on a brioche bun with generous lobster meat, , Our Lobster roll was just like mentioned in other reviews , probably the best I have had . I also ordered their oyster all Connecticut bought fresh , very very good . The caster salad was also good . The service was very attentive and the ocean view table was of course a lot of fun .
Vijay P — Google review
I don’t usually like leaving negative reviews, but I think it’s important feedback so places can improve. Red 36 has a fantastic location and ambiance—watching the boats pull up and dock really sets the scene. The oysters were excellent, and the fries (honestly the best thing we had) were great too. That said, the cocktails we ordered were both made incorrectly—maybe the bartender was just off that night. They do have a solid tap beer selection, which helped balance things out. My main disappointment was the chicken sandwich: the bread-to-chicken ratio was way off, and the plating of the fries (which deserved better!) didn’t do the dish justice. Every restaurant can have an off day, so I’ll chalk it up to that. With the right adjustments, Red 36 has the potential to deliver an experience as good as its setting.
Thomas E — Google review
We were recently in Mystic for the first time and decided on Red 36 for our anniversary dinner. We had reservations for 7:30 and were promptly seated. Matt, our server was amazing, attentive and didn’t miss a beat despite the place being busy. The food that we ordered was promptly served and absolutely delicious, and the dessert we ordered to go was packaged perfectly! It was a beautiful night sitting on the dock overlooking the water. The only downfall was the lack of lighting, as we had to use the flashlight on our cellphones to see the menu. Overall, it was a great experience.
Lori A — Google review
The place is in an amazing location, superb interior and views. The food was great, the grilled swordfish was a pure perfection. The clam chowder was ok, a little under seasoned. Service at the table was attentive and pleasant, but I wish the attendants at the front desk were a bit nicer though, they kind of ruin the vibe for customers!

Restaurant
Dog Watch Cafe, located in Stonington Borough, was established by husband and wife David and Wendy Eck, along with Wendy's brother Clay Burkhalter. The cafe offers a relaxed dining experience with BBQ fare, sandwiches, and seafood. In addition to indoor seating, the establishment also provides outdoor seating and lawn games for patrons to enjoy. The venue boasts stunning views of Stonington Harbor and features an outdoor space called the Dog Pound for dockside cocktails and dining.
This place is an absolute 10/10 all the way around. Beautiful view of the marina and the food was awesome. I ordered the yellow fin tuna, my wife had the seafood casserole and my son had the fish tacos. It did not disappoint! If you are looking for great food with an awesome atmosphere..this is the place to check out in Stonington
Landon L — Google review
A lovely spot right near the water and marina, this longstanding institution serves up delicious seafood! My NE clam chowder was excellent, as were the fish tacos. My kids had the fried calamari and the brisket cheese sandwich, all very good. And if their seasonal special blueberry crisp is on the menu, don’t miss it! From the woman who showed us to our table to the waitress, service was friendly and helpful. Reservations during peak summer season, even at off-peak hours, are recommended. Abundant parking right nearby, kid and dog friendly.
Mark D — Google review
We got seated outside and had beautiful views of the boats. Our meal was enjoyed by all, especially the salmon sandwiches (bread was fresh, salmon was cooked perfectly). Overall it was a great lunch.
Margaret H — Google review
Super special Fourth of July because we had perfect weather, great lobster rolls and a surprise 30+ minute fireworks shows put on by locals across the water and could see various shows in the distance. Perfect place for a great drink food and sunset!
Catalina S — Google review
Second time at the Dog Watch and will definately repeat. It was a hot day the beginning of the month, so indoor seating suited us best, but while we waited we had a drink on the back patio where another bar is located. The food was great as well as the staff. Calamari and Bang Bang shrimp as starters. I had the seared fish tacos which where a nice retreat from the original fried [no photo included].
S. B — Google review
This was my 5th time here and between the consistency and fresh food you can't go wrong. If you can go on a nice day and sit in the back section by the water I highly recommend it. The ambience provides for a great experience for you and your guest. I'd suggest getting a reservation though as this place a well known local spot.
Jeremy B — Google review
Food was amazing! I can't wait to go back and try more menu items. Cool space with a bar top, indoor seating, and outdoor seating on the water. Great service as well!
Jess E — Google review
Food was standard but tasted very fresh, and since it's by the water the price is always a bit higher. We came in on a weekend around 2pm and the place was full and only the patio was available which was fine for us. You can buy clothes here such as sweaters and vests with their own branding.

American restaurant
Noah's is a charming New England restaurant located in Stonington, offering a cozy atmosphere with its tin ceilings, wooden bar, and inviting decor. Since 1979, it has been serving up delicious comfort food using slow scratch cooking techniques. The menu features a variety of dishes that change with the seasons, ensuring fresh and flavorful options for both locals and visitors. With daily lunch and dinner specials based on seasonal ingredients, Noah's keeps its offerings interesting and diverse.
What a charming little place to sit and enjoy freshly made food. We were out yesterday in Stonington, CT. a a mini snow squall kicked up with a brisk cold wind which made our trip to Stonington even better. Driving on Water St. we saw Noah's on the corner flying the American flag at lunchtime. we stopped in . We were greeted by Meghan and seated in a cozy dining area with a few booths and tables spaced nicely. Old building so all the old floors and metal ceiling sheets and a bump out window table caught my eye. This place is a great place to warm the bones and sit and enjoy the atmosphere, there was party of 4 sitting and just enjoying each others company and the comfortable and cozy feel , nobody was rushing them out. We were seated and first thing you notice are the great photographs on the walls. A local artist John Papp, beautiful photography and neatly matted and framed. Colorful exotic birds and some local pictures all for sale. Onto the food, we were there for lunch, breakfast is served until 11:30 then they switch over to lunch. My wife ordered a Awesome Sauce Burger that comes with lettuce, tomato, cheese and smoked applewood bacon, I ordered a Boro Bowl, comes with rice and quinoa. You get 2 choices of sauces along with 4 standards, spicy sesame and ranch dressings I chose tomato, edamame, raw red onion and raw spinach. I added a protein Bulgogi steak. EXCELLENT bowl !!!!! My wife said her burger was great. Meghan provided excellent service with a smile. This small restaurant was a great stop for us, we will definitely be back again. Their menus offer something for everyone, breakfast, lunch or dinner you can't go wrong Top the experience off with beautiful Stonington, CT.

Neat outside that draws you in and it seemed like a good option! We are glad we came! The staff was immediately friendly and sat us, took our drink order and got things started! All the way from beginning to end they took good care of us! One employee was even sweeping and the owner or manager even thanked her, that’s good management! The beer options were good, the local ones I tried were excellent! The food is made with high quality ingredients as well and even the vegetables that made up the salad were so fresh and delicious! Very refreshing starting with the salad here! The oyster chowder were amazing, had plenty of oysters in it and had good flavor and was made from scratch as well! The mussels were good and came with some excellent toasted bread! Our entrees were very satisfying as well and we had a good experience here! Very neat place too from stamped ceiling to neat wooden decor and paintings!

While looking for a place to eat lunch, we saw Noah’s. It was a very cozy and nice restaurant. There was local art for sale that were on the walls, the staff were friendly, and the food was delicious. We ordered mussels and shared a salad, and we had a really great experience. This is definitely a wonderful place to stop.

Wanted to share my experience with Noah's restaurant today! I took my dad here today for breakfast and the service was impeccable:) We both had omelets that were so amazing and with fresh veggies...:) I also ordered a side piece of French toast...it was outstanding...our server was friendly, outgoing upbeat and gave us exceptional quality service;) I highly appreciate and recommend this quaint restaurant in historic stonington boro:) William 😊

It may sound like hyperbole, but it’s not- it’s just a fact: Noah’s has it all. This charming, quaint gem has fabulous food and attentive friendly service.

Incredible menu. Rotating specials. Everything tasted like it was from someone’s garden. Made with love. Not overdoing it with spices or anything either. Scallops were excellent. Desserts 10/10. Deborah gives incredible service !!! AMAZING cute little place I can’t wait to come back

Noah’s is a reliable and always good choice in the borough. The food, drink, and service are excellent and free of unnecessary fuss. It’s smallish and cozy — a welcoming atmosphere. The menu focuses on what they’re good at, therefore it’s all good.

Noah’s a restaurant located in historic Stonington Village. We had lunch on a Wednesday. Itwas a rainy, cold winter day and was very busy. Not surprising. The food is cooked fresh with fresh ingredients and very generous portions. Our server was a gentleman who was very friendly and attentive. They are open for breakfast, lunch and diner. A must try when in the area.

Bakery
Breakfast restaurant
Sift Bake Shop Mystic is a family-owned bakery with a French accent, offering an array of delectable treats. From elegant seasonal sandwiches to buttery quiche slices, the shop has something for everyone. However, it's the sweet indulgences that steal the show, including papery-flaky croissants filled with dark chocolate and lemon meringue tarts. Visitors can even watch the bakers in action through glass windows as they create their masterpieces.
This place absolutely rocks. I was pleasantly surprised by very reasonably priced coffee and the incredible presentation of all the pastries. There’s lots of options so if you don’t have a sweet tooth, you can grab a savory quiche or a sandwich on a fresh baked croissant. There’s usually a line out the door but it’s definitely worth the wait and there’s plenty of seating indoors and outdoors.
Sarah G — Google review
This place was great! They are right in downtown mystic, and within walking distance from a public parking lot. The line was out the door but moved pretty quickly. The staff were friendly here. The food displayed was amazing just to look at. It was an organized, and perfectly laid out in the cases. So appealing to the eye that you wanted one of everything. The sticky bun was my favorite item I Tate’s but everything we tried was fantastic. The latte I had to compliment it was just as good. I can see why the line here is long, all day long. If you are in Mystic, you need to come here. If you are inside looking, get the sticky bun lol. Your welcome.
Kyle P — Google review
This place is worthy of the hype. We had the blueberry cheesecake dessert and our friend's had the vanilla cake. Delicious on all accounts and the straight black coffee was perfection as a strong and flavorful coffee. Everyone should go to Sift, and order one of everything...okay...just order something and you will see why the place constantly has a line out the door, down the street. Our dogs loved it too because a staff member walked by us on the patio area and gave them tiny dog treats. BRAVO to the chefs, owner, and wait staff. You are worthy of the highest praise.
Mary C — Google review
My daughter and I drove an hour due to a friend's recommendation. We enjoyed everything, especially the spinach and artichoke croissant and chocolate chip cookie. The key lime croissant was really good but too tart for me but daughter said it was out of this world. Quick moving line, tables inside and out were available. It was worth the drive. Ohhhh and the prices were good for the quality 👌🏾
Tanya C — Google review
Very good bakeshop in Mystic! Lines are long but if you have the time to wait, it’s worth trying something. We had the chocolate chip cookie, guava cheese danish, and chocolate croissant. The chocolate croissant was most notable because it has chocolate on both the inside and outside!! 😋
Tay J — Google review
We planned to visit the bakery many months ago due to the rave reviews. We were there on the morning on a weekend during rain, but there was still a big line for dine in, which is the same for pickup as well. Apparently you can only pick up without the line for bulk orders. The line moved fast so it was good. I was able to order based on the items on display. All croissants were tasty and a single croissant is very filling, vegetable croissant was savoury and tasty, pecan bun is very sweet and yum, only one type of brownie was available which was extremely fudgy and tasty, blueberry scone was dry and wished they served it with butter, and the macarons were out of this world. It is a quick service restaurant and you grab the order to dine on your own. There was good number of seats to dine in but it is also very convenient to dine in your car. I loved everything and would love to visit again! Strongly recommend!
Mrinalini B — Google review
Sift Bake Shop was incredible! Everything looked and tasted amazing — their pastries and desserts are truly next level. You can tell they use high-quality ingredients and put a lot of care into every detail. Easily one of the best bakeries I’ve been to. Highly recommend stopping by.
Marc N — Google review
Charming Mystic bakery that is very popular. There was a line to get the baked goods but well worth it. Delicious sweet and savory treats. Walkable from downtown Mystic just over the bridge.

Nestled along the picturesque Stonington Harbor, Breakwater is a contemporary waterfront restaurant that promises an unforgettable dining experience. With its airy ambiance and stunning views of Fishers Island Sound, it's the perfect spot to indulge in fresh seafood and New American cuisine while sipping on expertly crafted cocktails. Imagine savoring delectable dishes like tempura fried shishito peppers or fish tacos after a refreshing swim at Whalens Wharf, all while watching sailboats glide by against a backdrop of vibrant sunset hues.
Food was phenomenal! From service to view, everything was perfect. I know reviews talk about a long wait but it was nice waiting with a drink by the water. I definitely recommended these drinks: Aperol Sprits frozen and the bloody Mary. For for food: the hot lobster roll, blackened chicken tacos, fried fish tacos, the burrito, and the shrimp and fries.
Jennifer M — Google review
Great location with good food. Lobster roll was amazing. Seafood medley was good. Gluten free kids pasta could’ve been better—especially with the almost $dollar upcharge just for the gluten free option which is a little absurd for the quality. Other than that, we would love coming back.
Ramiro C — Google review
First off, make sure you get a reservation here! It gets busy! Our waitress was fantastic , extremely kind and helpful. The view and ambiance are just perfect, I don’t think there’s a bad seat in the house. In regard to the food, the fried calamari was good but pretty heavy on the batter and it was more garnish than actual calamari on the plate,The seafood pasta was delicious and filling, however I wasn’t super impressed by the salmon. It had a great crispy exterior, however it lacked in flavor and the inside was a bit tough, I think it maybe could have used a sauce or just some extra salt and pepper!Overall, If you are in the area it’s not a bad option at all but I wouldn’t say it’s a must try.
Kayla A — Google review
We were on a short tour of the CT shoreline to revisit the many places we have been to many times over the years. We stopped in Stonington to see the sights and have lunch at Breakwater. It is a great casual restaurant built on a pier out in the bay. Seating inside and out but when weather is nice like today, outside is the best. We had fish & chips and fish tacos. Both were excellent. Add a beer and it was perfect! Views of the water and boats are really spectacular.
THE E — Google review
We enjoyed a lovely dinner here at BREAKWATER. The views were beautiful, service was friendly, and food was delicious. The fried calamari was fine but had a lot more fried peppers and other veggies vs. calamari. The lobster roll was not bad especially with a side of sweet potato fries. The seafood pasta was phenomenal with shrimp, scallops, lobster, crab, julienne vegetables, garlic-parmesan cream sauce, and parmesan. The Blackened Mahi Mahi and Pan Seared Faroe Island Salmon were also pretty good. I liked the firmness of the Mahi Mahi but the Seared Salmon was so tender and delicious. It had a sweet corn puree, summer succotash, Matunuck Microgreens pea shoots and strawberry salsa. Now for my standard comments. Parking is an open parking lot right in front of the restaurant but it is easy to miss the entrance if you are not familiar with the town or roads. Location is well kept and clean. Indoor dining was comfortable.
Christine L — Google review
The deck is so nice and the view is incredible. It’s one of those places where you almost don’t even care if the food is just mediocre, luckily for us it was good :) Our server was super sweet and added to an already great experience.
Krista S — Google review
Went here with a big group of ladies and it was a lovely lunch experience. Lobster Loves Lobster. Little cup of bisque and a little roll with house made chips. Delicious. Excellent service.
Megan D — Google review
We really enjoyed our meal and sitting out on the deck next to the water. It's a beautiful location, and the service was excellent. Our server Trina was great, made some good suggestions and made us feel like long-time friends. The only thing this place needs to work on are the bathrooms. Both my wife and I were a bit surprised by the gross conditions of the men's and women's bathrooms. You can't help but wonder if this is carrying over to the kitchen.

Water Street Cafe is a popular New American eatery located in the heart of Stonington. The cafe offers a casually elegant dining experience with a focus on locally sourced seafood and produce. Known for its oyster bar featuring local and international varieties, the cafe also boasts house-made desserts and fresh seafood specials. With a mahogany bar and inviting atmosphere, it's a favorite spot for both locals and visitors to enjoy creative cuisine and drinks in a relaxed setting.
There’s something unmistakably comforting about the approach to Water Street Café. Tucked into the heart of Stonington, this cozy spot radiates old-school charm before you even step inside. Once through the door, you’re welcomed not just by a gracious host, but by the subtle hum of a place that knows its rhythm. The layout feels effortless—bar to the right, tables and booths to the left—perfectly intimate without trying too hard. The meal begins humbly with a bread basket—simple, warm, soft butter on the side. It’s not showy, but it does its job exceptionally well. Think understated rather than underwhelming. Starters here cover the spectrum. The shrimp cocktail stood out for its zippy horseradish-forward cocktail sauce—classic, but not dull. The Caesar salad arrived crisp, with a satisfying crunch from the croutons, while the beet and peach salad brought in a subtle sweetness that played nicely with the earthiness of the greens. The crispy tofu salad was a surprise hit—light, fresh, and punched up with a wasabi-soy vinaigrette that didn’t shy away from flavor. Among the mains, the shrimp and scallops fra diavolo was a clear highlight. The seafood was tender, the pasta perfectly cooked, and the chili oil gave the tomato sauce a welcome, slow-building heat. For something more casual, the café burger on brioche was hearty and satisfying, especially with the addition of cheese and bacon. The London broil was classic comfort—tender beef, garlic butter, and crisp fries. If you’re leaning toward poultry, the chicken sandwich delivered crunch and tang, thanks to Creole mustard and a crusty roll. Dessert brought it home. Two ice cream sundaes—one a straightforward vanilla-chocolate combo, the other a raspberry-drenched dream with a wafer base—both executed with care. Sometimes it’s the simplest things that leave the best impression. If you go, ask for Andy. His easygoing service tied the whole experience together. Water Street Café has roots that stretch back to 1994, founded by Walter and Stephanie Houlihan after years in the high-paced world of New York hospitality. Walter, a CIA-trained chef, brought a unique blend of French, Asian, and American influences to this coastal hideaway. Stephanie ensured that the front-of-house runs with genuine warmth, anchoring the café firmly in the heart of the community. Decades on, it’s clear why this spot remains a local favorite. It’s not trying to reinvent the wheel—it’s just making sure it rolls smoothly and tastes great along the way.

For a Tuesday night the place was packed and they didn't have enough waitstaff to meet the demand, we sat for almost 30 minutes before someone took our drink order and over an hour before someone came to take our food order. The food was delicious I got the duck and scallops; the duck was so tender I could easily cut it with a butter knife. They were knowledgeable about the menu and used a soy alternative on my dish because of my Celiac Disease. My girlfriend got the halibut and while I didn't try it because I wasn't sure of it's contents, it cut through like butter. My girlfriends cocktail was VERY strong. Mine was delicious.

Came here for dinner while on a quick trip to the ocean. Food was phenomenal! Best salmon I've ever had. Drinks were also great, I got the... twist on an old fashioned? I don't remember what it was called. Excellent though. I will advise that they seem incredibly popular so call in advance to put your name on the list for a table. But I would highly recommend this spot to anyone, great food, drinks and service! If I'm ever back in the area, I will go again!

Fantastic experience here. Stopped in for the first time for a family member's birthday and had a great dinner. I had an espresso martini (which was super yummy and so smooth) and then the roasted chicken skillet entree which was nicely cooked and very flavorful. Had some delicious bites of cheesecake to share for dessert. The atmosphere was very cozy and the service was extremely friendly. Can't wait to come back soon!

randomly stopped in here on a road trip. on a cool street in a cute town. the town was a little sleepy around 8pm, but this place was not! what a cool spot, great vibes, friendly people and staff! i could feel old ship captains stumbling in here after a few weeks or days at sea, food was pretty good as well but not fantastic. More of a stop for vibes and libations i think, but would definitely recommend and will come here again

Wow. What a great restaurant. Fabulous food, wonderful service, lovely atmosphere, and live music to boot; a guitar player who set the mood perfectly. Four of us had great meals, including two of us who are Vegans, and the vegan entrée was absolutely delicious. We will definitely eat here again when we are in town. Highly recommended.

Pizza restaurant
Stonington Pizza Palace is a charming, family-owned restaurant that has evolved from a small pie parlor to a full-scale eatery with an expanded menu. Established in 1986, this cozy establishment offers an array of delectable options including hand-tossed pizzas, calzones, pasta dishes, fresh salads, seafood specialties and traditional Greek favorites like gyros and baklava. The menu also features weekly specials made with fresh local ingredients.
We were there on Saturday for the first time. Sean was our waiter. He was great. The Philly steak egg rolls ere the bomb. I had the special lobster roll. It was delish. 2 at our table had the stonington scallops and one other had the Italian grinder. Large protons for sure. We can't wait to go back and try more things on the large menu.

Beautiful dining room, authentic Greek feel. Kitchen is a well oiled machine. Beef Gyro was really great. Portion sizes are perfect. Fries are unique flat and crispy. Would come again.

Great place to eat. Good variety, pizza, grinders, salads, seafood, burgers, lsoups. All fresh and local. Good selection of beer and wine. Very Friendly atmosphere.

I’m sitting waiting for my take out. I’ve been coming here a long time. It’s the busiest I’ve EVER SEEN IT. This is in twenty years of frequenting the establishment. Watching Angelo, Aggie, their staff, and the intepid Mallory get volumes of food to go and eat in out to the customer is like watching a Broadway show. (It’s not quite graceful enough to call ballet, but almost!). The kitchen runs with heart and the food is delicious. XO

Friendly, good price, and great food. We ordered a Cobb salad, chopped pasta salad, and baked ziti. We wanted to order a few slices as well, but they stop serving by the slice after lunch. We’ll try again next time!

After eating a lot of pizza here in CT over the last week, we felt this was the very best. Got calzone, wings, spaghetti pizza, fettuccine alfredo, white & cheese pizzas to sample from. Everything was great. Surprisingly, we loved the spaghetti pizza the very best. Who would have ever thought? But was the epitome of yum! This is the kind of pizza you remember for years... When we're in our eighties, we'll all be saying, "Remember that spaghetti pizza we had on our Mystic, CT trip?"

This is a takeout review. All food is eaten fresh in the vehicle. I ordered the Philly Cheesesteak Eggrolls and a pepperoni pizza. The Eggrolls were outstanding, great flavor, great texture, and very filling. The pizza was very good, nice crust, nice flavor, plenty of cheese. On a scale from 0-10 I would rate this 8.6.

Pizza joint in Old fashion New England village... We passed by this place so many times, but this was our first time to stop in and had lunch there. The place was clean and airy, unlike other pizza place which were often dark and and full of greasy air. Service was great, we were seated promptly and our order was taken quickly. We shared a field green house salad and a large pastrami sandwich. The salad was simple, but quite nice, full of fresh wild green with some sprinkle of blue cheese, mandarin orange, and balsamic vinaigrette. Pastrami sandwich served with nice steak roll with some fried onion and tomato. Everything was simple with fresh ingredients. They did not try to "fancy" up the food, just let the good ingredients came through. We saw other had pizzas and lobster rolls. We would try those next time...

10/10 Recommend ! We started off with Duck Toast, Deviled Egg and out New Found Favorite, Escargot. Then my partner had the Squid & we both truly Loved it. I ordered the Scup and it was heavenly. Turns out our Bartender, Mickey, was the one who caught the fish on his boat that Morning ! It was an honor to be feasting on seafood caught by the staff themselves. The bartender crafted cocktails to our liking and each round of drinks was delightful. We finished up with the pavlova and it was light and refreshing. We drove is from Out or state and this is a place worth Visiting. Thank you Mickey for a wonderful dinner.

We stopped in for breakfast and were pleasantly surprised by how wonderful everything was. The menu has plenty of choices, but what really stood out were the morning cocktails — perfectly balanced, refreshing, and a great way to start the day. The breakfast itself was just as impressive, with fresh ingredients and generous portions that left us more than satisfied. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it a spot where you can easily linger a little longer than planned. Definitely we are coming back for dinner someday!

Went to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary. They put together an incredible menu, so it was hard to pick what to order. Super friendly staff! We enjoyed the experience immensely and would definitely come back. The house made sourdough bread was solid and came with an incredible sweet potato & rosemary butter. The bucatini was life-changingly good. So many complex flavors; ultra creamy; lots of umami from the mushrooms and cheese (Mystic Cheese Finback). The Painted Hills Beef Strip Steak was an excellent dish overall. The steak itself was cooked perfectly medium rare, but given the cut of beef wasn’t anything super special. However, it was perfectly paired with a meaty seacoast mushroom, shishito peppers, and delightful potato mille feuille with bearnaise espuma. The Big Gurl burger was massive and served with a giant portion of crispy onions. The burger had an excellent crust and was thick and juicy on the inside. The “thicc” tomato certainly was thick, and it was perfectly ripe and delicious. The shallot bacon jam, blue cheese, and dijonaise all added nice flavors and complexity. The flourless chocolate cake was a perfect end to the meal. The cake was rich and fudgey. The chocolate caramel ice cream butterscotch espuma, and caramel & chocolate crunchies were perfect accompaniments to add contrasting textures.

This is by far one of my favorite experiences dining out. The atmosphere is cozy, not pretentious. The service is top notch. And the food is incredible. My server (sorry I didn't remember her name) asked what I looked for in a good wine and suggested the perfect one. Maybe a bit too perfect because it went down too smoothly! I ordered the Local Black Sea Bass Crudo as an appetizer, it was beautiful to look at and each bite was better than the first. I had the Roasted Seacoast Mushroom as my entree. The flavor was superb. I didn't leave anything behind. For dessert I had the Concord Grape Sorbet and an espresso martini which they subbed the cream with oat milk since I cannot have dairy. The restaurant and the service made my birthday celebration an amazing experience! I highly recommend dining here for any special occasion!

Fantastic restaurant! Came here for happy hour with one of my friends and we loved it! This place has been on our list since one of the chefs is a James Beard Award winner. And let me tell you, this place did not disappoint! We made reservations for a Thursday evening at 5:30pm. As the first people there is was fairly empty, but during our 2 hour stay it got busy. I recommend making a reservation. The space has ample seating and the decor is very nice. We decided to participate in happy hour which means all the appetizers and oysters were 50% off! Such a good deal, everything we got was less than $75 total. The crispy oysters was too die for! I would definitely get those again along with the deviled eggs. In addition, we got the shishito peppers, duck pate, sourdough bread w/ miso butter, 2 cocktails of the day, and mushroom buccinti. Everything was so wonderfully crafted and all the flavors blended well together. I would definitely go back.

My husband and I went for brunch on my birthday, as sort of a capstone for a decadent weekend of good eats. I didn’t want anything too heavy and just got their poached chicken Cobb salad with a side of the housemade hash brown, husband got their benedict. I didn’t try his, but he said it was delicious. Mine was too - they used a vinaigrette type of dressing that was perfectly light, with super fresh greens and perfectly cooked chicken. The hash brown was beautifully crispy on the outside but soft on the inside and tasted divine. I did also get a flat white - note they can do decaf espresso drinks and have oatmilk as their nondairy option. It wasn’t the best but also not the worst flat white I’ve ever had. I didn’t taste the oatmilk the first few sips, mentioned it to my server, and they were kind enough to replace the drink just in case - it turned out the oatmilk they use has a surprisingly subtle taste. 🤷🏻‍♀️ We’d come across this place via a YouTuber who did their tasting menu. We’ll definitely come back to try their dinner menu the next time we’re in the area but also do more of their brunch (hello French toast? Maple brandy cinnamon bun?? House made biscuits???? Swoon.) We got super lucky with street parking. The Whaler’s Inn, which this restaurant is attached to, has its own parking lot but we weren’t sure if we could park there since we weren’t guests of the inn.
Em C — Google review
So this review is going to a little longer than most I post. This restaurant has a lot of press about it and boasts a beautiful setting. It was very busy when we came in and we waited to sit at the bar. The menu is very pretentious and so are the prices- but I knew that going in. The oysters were nice but pairing it with a $22 small pour of wine was tough to deal with. The pasta was a huge miss. Lots of places in CT make pasta and do it better. There was zero marriage of the ingredients in the sauce. I enjoyed the tuna tartar but the best part of it was the crispy potato it sat on. I looked over the very sparse dessert options and settled on a lovely Reposado Tequila that our awesome bartender suggested. Way too pricey to walk out the door still hungry. I didn't hate it but not worth the hype. The people watching was fun however.

Engine Room is a charming restaurant in Mystic, CT that serves New American comfort food along with a wide selection of craft beers and bourbons. The eatery is part of the 85th Day Food Collective, which also operates Oyster Club in Mystic and Harings in Noank.
Came here for a lunch after spending a few hours at the maritime museum. We sat outside because it was a beautiful August day in the mid-70s. Wife and I both enjoyed the Meza NEIPA from Fox Farm brewery. I had the summer burger with fries and wife enjoyed the fish sandwich with potato salad. Food was delicious. I ordered the burger bloody but got medium which often happens with burgers but the flavor was good. The potato salad was delicious. Service was decent enough, professional and measured. When we are next in Mystic I'd like to try dinner here.

Engine Room is a gastro pub located in a old engine factory. It has a rustic look and it's a cool spot. We sat outside on the patio during brunch. Service was efficient and friendly. There's a large selection of craft beers, cocktails, and wine. The cuisine is American; there were burgers, salads, sandwiches, and more. They also give you the option to make your own bloody Marys. I had the Express Yourself cocktail which is like an espresso martini; that was good. For my meal, I had the Engine Room breakfast sandwich, it had bacon, eggs, cheese, on a bun with fries. The food was really good. Overall, we had a good experience. The food and drinks were delicious and would definitely return.

Visited the Engine Room while in Mystic,CT. it was very crowded, but we were able to get seated quickly. My husband ordered from the happy hour menu the cheeseburger, hot dog and the hush puppies. The best burger we’ve eaten in a long while. The bun to meat ratio was perfect. Also the hush puppies had a nice texture. The hot dog honestly was ok. I ordered the fish sandwich and potato salad. The fish needed a little more seasoning (just added hot sauce to jazz it up). The potato salad was good. I love red potatoes so it was perfect for me. Would visit again.

This not your average diner, I would call it brewery restaurant that has distinct style. Plase has relaxed yet stylish atmosphere and creative menue. They have their own salmon jerky which is basically a piece of salmon that is particularly smoked and particularly dried, we ended up having two orders of this. Also whipped ricotta was very good and unorthodox. Ceasar salad has hefty amount of grilled chicken and burgers were very good too.

This was a nice restaurant. Atmosphere is a little loud as we went on a Saturday night. The waitress was very nice and the food was good as seen in the pictures. Restaurant is very reasonably prices as of August 2025.

Did not have to wait on Sun evening around 6pm. Server was friendly, and he commiserated with my wife who has celiac disease (said his mother does, too). My wife’s GF burger bun held together and she liked it. I had the fish and chips, which were nothing special. The coleslaw was very salty.

Overpriced For Quality Visited on Memorial Day Sunday - busy enough but we got seated fairly quickly. The wait staff was fine, if not particularly friendly or quick. The ambiance is perfect - lovely interior, thoughtful design touches, and the live music outside was solid. The issue, however, is the food. It's pricey and the quality does *not* match the price. The Cowboy Dip was bad, as were the Deviled Eggs (presentation was great for both, flavor was not). I was more hopeful for our entrees: I had the Red Wine Short Ribs, wife had a chicken burger. She liked hers a lot, which is a win. Mine looked great - again, they kill it on presentation - but the mashed potatoes desperately needed salt and garlic, while the Short Ribs were woefully bland. We spent $100 for one of the most disappointing meals I've had in a long time.

Nestled in Mystic, CT, Go Fish Restaurant is a must-visit for seafood enthusiasts. Renowned for its innovative dining experience, this restaurant offers a diverse menu featuring fresh sandwiches, small seafood plates like crab cakes and steamed mussels, as well as enticing entrees such as lobster ravioli and shellfish paella. Whether you prefer raw or cooked seafood, Go Fish has you covered with options ranging from lunch to dinner and even a sushi bar.
Five of us had a wonderful evening at Go Fish. This was our first time at their new location. Creative and delicious Asian and Hawaiian inspired cocktails, sushi, appetizers and entrees. I’m Japanese and live in Hawaii so I am critical of restaurants serving sushi and Asian/Hawaiian dishes. We enjoyed the ahi, hamachi, hotate (scallop) and hirame (flounder) sushi along with gyoza dumplings and crab rangoon wontons appetizers. The raw seafood was fresh and delicately prepared. The dumplings and wontons cooked perfectly. Each of us really enjoyed our entree selections: drunken noodles, seared scallops, lobster fried rice, shrimp & veggie skewers and the halibut special. Each were deliciously seasoned and prepared perfectly. My drunken noodles was one of the best dishes I’ve had this year. A wonderful blend of Asian seasonings on the seafood and rice noodles. Prices are typical for Mystic restaurants of this quality. The restaurant is spacious, beautifully decorated and clean. There’s a cozy outdoor seating areas with fire pits. Ample parking available on property. They currently have specials every day, as well as a happy hour (pau hana) menu! We’ll be back for sure for happy hour and the Tuesday senior special.

We had delicious sushi to start our night, and a great host and server who made us feel welcome. The dinner was good and nicely portioned since we had also ordered a sushi roll to split and an appetizer to split. If we hadn't had that, we might have considered getting a dessert to round out the meal. There was a slight, and understandable mistake made for my meal, which was the blackened salmon special, but it didn't detract from the dish, though that is where I took off a star. My partner's meal of shrimp and pineapple skewers was enjoyable, and while I loved the plantains and thought they were great, he was hoping they would have been even more caramelized than they were. Will definitely be back!

Kitchen Little is an American eatery known for its breakfast favorites and seafood dishes. The restaurant offers a cozy atmosphere with the option to dine on the patio while enjoying views of the marina. Previously located near the Seaport, Kitchen Little has now moved to Mason's Island, providing a larger seating area and even more spectacular views. Rumor has it that Dave Grohl from Foo Fighters once enjoyed brunch at this popular spot.
Drove from Long Island to have a fun trip to Mystic with my wife and her cousin. We had a great breakfast. The hosts and employees were all kind and awesome. We definitely recommend to visit here for breakfast and seeing the boats and waterfront.

I had a nice brunch here with my family. We ordered coffee, pineapple juice, Eggs Benedict with tomatoes and avocado, a Rueben Omelette, Buttermilk Pancakes with strawberries and blueberries, and a custom omelette with turkey sausage, red onions, Swiss cheese, and avocado. The food was alright, but it was not particularly impressive or high quality. The service was fine for the most part, but it was a bit hectic in the beginning. When I arrived, I had multiple hostesses and waitresses coming up to me asking about the size of our party. However, they seated us quickly despite how busy it was. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the location is great, which plenty of parking and a nice view of the Mystic River Marina.

This was a perfect place to grab some breakfast while visiting the Mystic area. Although the wait time was around 35 minutes, the food was absolutely delicious. My hope is that they add an outside coffee and Mimosa bar to ease the wait time. I'd recommend the grits and Cajun shrimp with the corn bread. I think the host was my favorite character. Keep up the good work here at kitchen little.

Just had what might be the best Eggs Benedict I’ve ever tasted — and that’s saying a lot! I ordered the lobster Benedict, and every bite was phenomenal. The lobster was fresh, sweet, and generously portioned, and the hollandaise was rich without being overpowering — perfectly balanced. The waterfront view made it even better. Sitting out on the deck, watching the boats while sipping coffee and enjoying a top-tier breakfast felt like such a treat. The service was friendly and fast, and the vibe is laid-back but full of charm. If you’re anywhere near Mystic, don’t miss Kitchen Little. It’s a perfect brunch spot with unforgettable food and coastal New England ambiance. I’m already dreaming about going back!

Fun atmosphere, super friendly staff. They have some unique breakfast options along with the usual fare. There was a bit of a wait, outside, not ideal when you're at a marina and it's cold and windy. It's also a bit on the pricey side, but quality wise, you get what you pay for.

We ordered the lobster roll and 3 orders of fish (flounder) and chips. The lobster roll was fabulous! The bun was lightly buttered and toasted and the lobster salad had big chunks of claw and tail meat. The fish and chips was also very good. The fries were plentiful and hot, but a bit bland. The view is beautiful a a the atmosphere is fun and family-friendly. Service was quick! We are definitely glad we stopped!

First time here, but I get the mixed reviews now. The lobster roll was a decent size; the meat was thick and juicy, but as for the flavor, it lacked. There was a slight taste of dill, mayo and celery, but that was about it. It needed some more seasoning. A little more salt, pepper, a spritz of lemon and maybe some butter. The fries were good; crispy outside and soft inside. The coleslaw was good as well. The calamari and crab cakes were okay. Basic fried calamari and crab cakes, but they didn’t taste burnt or like it was fried in old oil. Overall it was edible and the portions were good. As for the atmosphere and service, I have no complaints. Great views and good service. I’d go back again.

Best lobster roll I’ve ever had. First time on the east coast so this place did not disappoint! Come for the fantastic harbor views and the freshest tasting food. Bread was perfectly buttered, and I loved that the lobster itself was marinated in their specialty sauce. I hate when lobster rolls are dry or they skimp on the meat. Not this place! Overall 10/10 experience!

The views were gorgeous and peaceful, the restaurant was adorable, and the food was absolutely incredible. We had the lobster roll and clam chowder for lunch and it was some of the best food I’ve ever had. There are tons of outdoor seating along the bay and plenty of parking when we went. Put this place on your list for sure! I lost my ID there and the staff mailed it back to me. Who does that? The kind of people that work at Sea View Snack Bar do!

Great stop at the Sea View for lunch. We had the lobster BLT, scallop roll, scallop dinner and Calimari dinner. The fried items were lightly fried. Everything tasted excellent. Beautiful view. Happy to come back!
Beth O — Google review
Fair on all accounts. Although the photo looks like a lot of lobster in the lobster BLT, it was truly a small amount. Pricey for what you get with 2 tiny slivers of bacon. Flavorful small bun well flavored with buttery crust. The clam fritters were inexpensive and not something any of the four of us would ever get again. All breading with almost no clams in them. We all wanted the clam dinner, but couldn't handle paying the high prices they wanted. Onion rings as an upcharge as a side was also disappointing as they were thin rings with bland breading. None of us were impressed with the meals due to the prices. The view was nice, but the wasps and bees were constantly flying around the condiments area.

Whenever I come to Mystic, I always stop here. We’ve been coming since was a kid, and the food has never changed. They have the same menu as they did before, and for a very good reason. Their food is amazing, and has a great taste. We absolutely LOVE their clam chowder. It has a great taste and it is just perfect! My wife loved the shrimp and it has a great view of the water. Weather you go during the day or at night, you’ll have a nice view. The benches outside are perfect to sit back and enjoy your food. They have a very large menu with many things to choose from. We love stopping here, and will do it again next time we’re around!

Food was good. We had a clam roll sandwich, clam chowder and a lobster roll sandwich. Bread was toasted and buttery. Lobster roll had a touch of dill, not my favorite but still very good. Clam roll was in a toasted and buttered roll with a nice crunch to the clams.

While on a road trip around the New England states we passed by Sea Swirl by chance while we were on the way to try a pizza place nearby. We got the clam chowder and the lobster bisque cone. And WOW! We come for the food, never really tried the ice cream here. Food is a bit pricy, but you are paying for sea food… most things in the menu are fried, not a lot of variety. Overall a nice spot, often crowded, be prepared to maybe eat inside your car. The baked cones with soup this year were amazing, definitely worth the try!

I am so glad I heard about this place from social media and popped on over while we were visiting Mystic. It was delicious. The rose pistachio matcha latte was so creamy and not overly sweet. Just a heads-up: this review is based entirely on personal taste — I know lots of folks love Nana’s, and I really wanted to be one of them. Nana’s Bakery & Pizza in Mystic is super cute — warm, minimal decor with just the right touch of rustic charm. It’s a small space inside, and since the weather wasn’t playing nice, the outdoor seating wasn’t an option during our visit. Inside, it felt a bit cramped, especially with folks ordering and picking up crowding around the few available tables. I can totally see it being a more relaxed and comfortable spot on a sunny day. Service was friendly but a bit slow — it seemed like the person working the register was still getting familiar with the menu. Not a big deal, but worth noting if you’re in a rush. We ordered the Margherita pizza with tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, olive oil, and basil — and added Seacoast Mushrooms. The sourdough crust was beautifully charred and had a nice crunch, but for us, the flavor of the crust overpowered everything else. The pizza leaned a bit dry, and overall just didn’t quite hit the mark for our taste. On a more positive note — the bread looked incredible, and the rotisserie chickens turning behind the counter were seriously tempting (even though I’m a pescatarian these days). If I find myself back in the area, I’d be interested in coming by for breakfast or trying one of their salads at lunch. Nana’s is clearly thoughtful about their ingredients and process, with a focus on organic sourdough, fermentation, and local sourcing. It just wasn’t quite the right fit for me this time.

I have been coming to Nana’s since they opened. Great selection of creative dishes, especially the vegetarian options. They have the best bread in Mystic and will slice it for you. Their rotisserie chicken dinner is a great value. The Team Members are some of the most personable service people in the area. Mystic has several hospitable dining establishments, but Nana’s is the only one that also fills the role of a “Third Space”.

Rotisserie chicken is worth the detour, other goods are also tasty! Fries were ok. Cacio donut was a fun twist, didn’t get to try any other flavors. Got by the slice pizzas and chicken salad sandwich too. Chocolate chip cookies are unique and also worth getting. Brownie was sold out :(

Great service and great menu. The caprese salad was truly a delightful culinary experience. The fresh ingredients were perfectly combined, offering a wonderful medley of flavors. Its vibrant presentation was visually appealing, making it even more enjoyable.

We only had time to try Nana's for breakfast, but it was outstanding. The hashbrown breakfast sandwich was perfection - the italian roll bun was light enough to easily bite through but substantial enough to support the hearty sandwich, egg was perfect, hashbrown was crispy and flavorful, and the pickled onions helped balance the richness of the sandwich. The freshly fried donuts are likewise perfect - light and airy with a slight chewyness. Loved the lemon sugar and miso caramel. The staff was warm and friendly, and outdoor seating was charming (and not buggy at all!). Be prepared for a wait, especially on weekend mornings (though it is worth it). Highly recommend!

We went on a Monday morning for breakfast and got a table by the window. We got the nana sandwich and the hashbrown sandwich both were really good. The best part tho were our drinks (cappuccinos) the coffee was really good.

Wife and I had a breakfast at Nana's in Mystic. Easy fast friendly service. Their breakfast burrito was delicious! Not your ur usual that is overfilled with hash browns or eggs, it was a perfect mix of each ingredient. The Nana's egg sandwich was very good as well, we liked the sweet of the apple mixed with the savory of the eggs. Definitely worth the time if you're looking for a quick stop!

The Port of Call is a trendy nautical-themed cocktail lounge known for its drag shows and small plates, such as crispy boquerons and beef tongue gyros. Nanas Bakery & Pizza, co-owned by Mr. Wayman, offers made-to-order doughnuts and pizzas from organic dough. The Shipwrights Daughter at the Whalers Inn is a new restaurant receiving praise for its sustainable seafood dishes like fluke with herby green romesco sauce.
Let’s state it upfront: this place is expensive—and with a high price tag comes high expectations. Thankfully, Port of Call absolutely delivered! From the moment we stepped in, we were transported to what felt like the bar of a luxurious ocean liner from the golden age of travel. The warm wood-paneled interior, the welcoming ambiance, and the attentive, friendly service set the stage for a fantastic experience. The cocktail menu was creative and diverse, offering unique flavors from around the world. The food, true to the restaurant’s name, featured global influences executed with perfection. The Indian curry empanadas were a stunning start—bursting with flavor and perfectly crisp. The fish of the day was well prepared and plated like a work of art, while the vegetarian dish, featuring kale—a bold and risky choice—was so well prepared that it was nothing short of outstanding. Even the restroom was immersive, with nautical portholes showcasing ocean treasures and metal fixtures that reinforced the elegant, maritime theme. Overall, this place offered a high-end dining experience that perfectly complements the charm of this New England port town.

We had the best experience all around. Service was top notch and food was an international experience full flavors satisfying your taste buds. Beverages were just as innovative and creative. The restaurant from the outside feels like it's closed but when you enter it gives a speak easy, cozy vibes. Looking forward to our next meal the next time we are in Mystic!

This was a special occasion for my birthday and the atmosphere is very nice and I love how it’s not to crowded, limited tables. It was an intimate dining experience with very good food and drinks! The small plates were amazing. The pupusas were just okay. Overall loved the vibe and the toilet in the bathroom was fun too

Unbelievable restaurant. Even coming from NYC, we were blown away by our experience here. Incredible food and cocktails - service was also great. Beautiful plates too This is a must visit while you’re in Mystic

The service was excellent — our server was attentive, friendly, and very knowledgeable. I’d give her five stars without hesitation. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience didn’t live up to the same standard. The food was a hit or miss. The ham with bread was delicious, but the swordfish was a big disappointment. It tasted like it was fried in old oil, and even though the meat itself wasn’t awful, the portion was tiny — not nearly enough for one person, let alone two (we got the “2 for $62” option). It came with just some lettuce and onions, so you’re likely to leave hungry. As for drinks, this place prides itself on unique cocktails, but the two I tried were not for me. One was extremely sour, and the other had strong, odd spices that didn’t seem fitting for a cocktail. Thankfully, our server was kind enough to let me swap one out for a more traditional drink. The atmosphere was also lacking. The space is very small, with tiny tables and a loud, cramped room. Add to that a menu full of obscure ingredients and complex descriptions — unless you’re very familiar with world cuisines, it can feel overly pretentious and hard to navigate. Overall, I found it overpriced, underwhelming, and not somewhere I’d return to or recommend. Sorry!

Came in on a Tuesday night and enjoyed the Secret Sauce dinner & jazz special, with a wonderful wait staff, great drinks from the bar, and a surprisingly fantastic jazz trio. Indulged in the beef empanadas (phenomenal) and the Hawaiian Pork Musubi (not my favorite, but still good) before flipping over to the prix fixe menu of meatballs, ricotta dumpings, fish stew, and cacio e pepe pasta, finishing the night off with a truly fantastic cookie. Couldn't recommend Port of Call more highly, especially due to the highly attentive staff that made the whole experience seamless.

The lobster roll was absolutely amazing! The generous portion of lobster was overflowing from the roll, making every bite rich and satisfying. The service was just as impressive—everyone on the team had a warm and welcoming attitude, creating a fantastic dining experience. Highly recommend!

The ONLY restaurant we ate at during our family vacation. And it was not the wrong choice! Service was great! The server checked on us multiple times, making sure drinks were filled and we didn't need anything. The food... the food was all fantastic! We ordered multiple apps and all had different meals, EVERYTHING was delicious! It wasn't overly crowded, but we were there a little early. We also sat outside, which was nice and covered. We had 5 children with us too, and they were happy playing at the outside entertainment area. The price was VERY reasonable. We had 9 ppl, and with a few drinks and the apps, less than 200. Would 100% eat there again.

Typical American restaurant with a nice big lawn filled with lawn games for the little ones. The food here was mid at best. The chicken wings and ribs were definitely overcooked and super dry… the steak was on the saltier side. The pastas were just okay. The best thing we had were surprisingly, the French fries.

Mackenzie was awesome!! Just wanted to say that first!! We learned about this place from another server at a different restaurant which was also amazing. This was one of the highlights of our visit. The food was incredible in the service McKenzie provided was excellent. She was very friendly, helpful with the menu items, and it was just an all-around fun visit. Looks like they have a lot to do there if the patio is open. Some outside games and just a great atmosphere with a beachy feel. We both had the fish and chips which was probably the best ever. Don't miss this incredible hot spot in Mystic!!❤️🤩🥰

Went for a mid-afternoon lunch and we were able to quickly get seated. I had the fish tacos which are made with cod. Not much fish and a lot of salsa which soaked into the tortilla making it impossible to pick up. If you aren’t a fan of soggy bread, I suggest you order another meal. My husband enjoyed his fish sandwich. He had it accompanied by a generous side salad. Between the two restaurants, I prefer the Stonington menu over this one.

Some places feed you, and some places feed your soul. Dog Watch Mystic does both. From the moment you step in, you can feel the easy hum of the harbor. Boats sway just beyond the deck in the near distance, gulls call overhead, and the salty breeze wraps around you like an old friend. The staff treats you the same way... welcoming, genuine, and quick to share a smile. I was lucky enough to be taken care of by Riann, whose warmth and kindness made the experience even better. She’s the kind of person who makes you feel like an old friend, not just a guest... and our conversation was every bit as good as the meal. Speaking of the meal… my lobster roll was cooked to perfection... the kind of fresh that tastes like it came straight off a boat and onto my plate. Every bite carried that perfect blend of flavor and freshness, and it’s the kind of food you can’t stop thinking about afterward. And the coconut shrimp!! Amazing!! I can’t wait to go back... not just for the view, but for more of their wonderful food, the sea air, and a good conversation with Riann. Dog Watch Mystic is pure Mystic magic.

Rolled in on a Friday night with our one-year-old, and the place was hopping — mostly with retirees who looked like they’ve been coming here since Nixon was in office. Everyone was super friendly, which made me feel slightly guilty for what I’m about to say next. Ordered the “brisket,” which was really just pot roast wearing a brisket costume and hoping no one would notice. I did. My taste buds filed a formal complaint. Easily the worst brisket I’ve ever had. Mac and cheese? Glorious. Cornbread? Solid. Mashed potatoes? Sad. Like, “forgot to salt them and then apologized with a pat of butter” sad. Beer list was aggressively average. I got a local brew in a can, which felt like a passive-aggressive dare. Overall: lovely people, meh food, and a brisket that needs therapy.

We love to dine at the Dog Watch. The food is always amazing and the staff is friendly. Lizzy was our waitress and she made sure we were taken care of and even chatted with us. I took my wife out for her birthday and we started with two glasses of Sangria. I had the Poke Bowl and my wife had the Salad Pizza which were fantastic. The Poke was right up there with what I had in Hawaii and the Pizza was so good even covered with mixed greens. The blend of ingredients was delicious.

My husband and I went tonight and made some nice new friends at the bar. The food is absolutely AMAZING!!!! I had the rack of lamb. Wow. The best I’ve ever had. Bob got the “godfather “. Made reservations early on, we got there 15 minutes early and was seated immediately even though it was busy. Our waitress Monica was awesome and so helpful. The staff was excellent and courteous. The food was delicious and abundant. Definitely come hungry because they serve you plenty per plate. Even though they didn't have Mignonette for the oysters, it was still pretty tasty. The salad was simple and delicious. My main course was the rib eye with demi glace sauce and side of lobster cheesy risotto. My wife had the seafood medley special. Overall, it was a great experience and still definitely go back

Nice local place with very good food. The staff is friendly, accommodating and quick to serve. The dining room is smaller than the bar area- but the bar area is where the atmosphere is. The wine list is pedestrian, but they make up for it with the food.

Food was really tasty although a bit oily. I had the broiled scallops which were cooked really well, the buffalo moz app was also really tasty. The atmosphere was mellow, not too loud and the waitstaff was nice and on top of things. Overall a good experience. The only down side is the location, it's a bit out of the way (well outside of town)

After checking out multiple places in the mystic area for a place to take my girlfriend for her birthday, I came across Frank's gourmet grille. Read the reviews and couldn't have said it better. This place was great. Doesn't look spectacular from the outside but dont let that fool you. Food was great, all perfectly cooked. Super flavorful and I know because I am very particular about food and have my own food Instagram page called @ted_eats. I love tryin new places. Will definitely go back again. The lobster lump crab cakes were not dry, moist, flavorful. Calamari was not over cooked great flavor not plain. My girl got the steak and she said it was one of the best she ever had. Thanks frank, for coming out and meeting us.

Bar none the best food and service. Love all the comfort food options.. We used to eat at his previous restaurant in Niantic and when he moved to Mystic we followed because the food is that good.. I'm also an allergy queen and they always ask and make sure the chef knows or looks at ingredients so I'm safe n feel comfortable. Beef Stroganoff my favorite! Yummy in my tummy . Came today after having been closed due to Covid. Came back to a very different setup. Entrance on the opposite side and not sure but the restaurant is on one side and maybe bar is on other side now. The menu felt the same but the atmosphere has changed. More open not quaint like it used to be. Our waitress wasn't on top of things like we are used to because she's on one side then on our side. My filet mignon wasn't cooked well but i couldn't get it fixed bc by the the waitress came back my boyfriend was practically done with his meal l.

The steaks and veggies were good, but the shrimp scampi and the lobster scampi tasted weirdly sour and really greasy. Service was good but the food could be better. --- Yes they did make us another scampi - but unfortunately that didn't taste good to us either. We just didn't like the flavor.

Pizza restaurant
Mystic Pizza, located in Mystic, Connecticut, is a nostalgic spot that inspired the 1988 film of the same name. The restaurant is filled with memorabilia from the movie and vintage pictures from showbiz. It's a must-visit for fans of the cult classic film and those looking to reminisce about seaside holidays. While they embrace their tourist-fueled experience, their pizza is definitely worth trying.
Loved getting to visit Mystic Pizza in person! The staff is lovely and the decor is fabulous. The special pizza is pricey at almost forty dollars for a pie but absolutely delicious. Perfect crust and perfectly tasting ingredients. Definitely would recommend stopping by, even if you have not seen the movie! Now for my standard comments. Parking is a little tough. Can get crowded but we managed to snag a spot in the back or side lot and they said we could park there for a few minutes as we picked up our pizza. There seemed to be some comfortable indoor seating. Location is clean and well kept.

The movie “Mystic Pizza,” gave this Pizzeria a lot of fame. Unfortunately the prices reflect that the place is for tourist$. Pizza was good, and their beer own was excellent. Service was very, very attentive and the staff is probably the best part of the experience. Lots of fun movie and celebrity stuff hanging on the walls.

Travelling to 10 states in 14 days we diverted to Mystic because of the movie Mystic Pizza but mostly because of the movie Mystic Christmas which showed Mystic off in a great light. We weren’t disappointed on a beautifully sunny day… great Main Street with interesting shops, the pizza, the bascule bridge, the river, the houses and at that time of year the Halloween decorations. Bliss 🥰

We ordered the Mystic Pizza lager, cheese bread and a small pepperoni pizza. I am spoiled living in Detroit so this pizza was just alright for me and let's be real - we came for the experience! The service was great, even at the gift shop. This restaurant is adorable and their menu provides a great story of how they have expanded because of the film. If I'm ever in town again, I would definitely come back!

Great gluten free dough and regular dough!! We stopped in around 6pm and were quickly seated upstairs. The atmosphere was very pizza shop—-large wooden tables, Mystic Pizza playing on the TV and photos of the movie and celebrities. We ordered the garden salad. It was plenty big enough to split for 2-3 people. We each got the small pizza in pepperoni. The gluten free crust was tasty, it had a nice buttery flavor and good texture. The regular pizza I asked for it to be well done so that it had crispy pepperoni, which it did. It was oozing with cheese, but wasn’t super heavy and a perfect amount of sauce with a nice flavor. We each had a glass of wine, which was priced from $8-10 each. The server was really friendly and stopped by several times to check on us. Overall a lovely experience! We would definitely return.

There was a wait to get a table but we snagged two seats at the upstairs bar right away. Bartender was friendly and took our order right away. We ordered a large pizza with mushrooms and pepperoni. Perfect amount of sauce, cheese and toppings. The sauce had a unique taste. It wasn’t like regular pizza sauce had more flavor. Can’t really describe There was two of us so we couldn’t finish the entire pizza would definitely come back.

Since we were in Mystic for one night it felt like we had to go to Mystic Pizza for dinner. The food was good. The only issue I had was the fans upstairs made the lights seem almost strobe like. It gave me a bit of a headache. That said it was still great food and the service was excellent.

The Mystic Diner & Restaurant is a cheerful and spacious eatery that serves all-day breakfast as well as American and Mediterranean comfort dishes. Situated conveniently across from Olde Mistick Village, this diner is perfect for families with its unpretentious menu featuring a variety of filling breakfast options like sandwiches, omelets, and pancakes. It's also close to hotels, the highway, Mystic Aquarium, and Mystic Seaport.
Had a great meal and service here, as always. Betty Ann was awesome, super kind and really attentive. She checked in often, offering to top off my coffee and making sure my daughters had enough to drink. My youngest is a bit of a BLT expert and said this was one of the best she’s had. My oldest had the Mystic French Toast, which she’s been wanting to come back for since our last visit, and she said it was just as good as she remembered. I had the lobster eggs Benedict and it was absolutely delicious. We’ll definitely be back!

The perfect diner stop — breakfast, lunch, or dinner! This place is a must if you’re passing through. It’s conveniently right off the highway and gives you that true local feel. If you’re an egg sandwich fan, you’ll love it here — and don’t miss the short rib hash. It was my first time ever seeing it on a menu, and it did not disappoint. The staff is super friendly, the service is quick, and the establishment is very clean with plenty of parking. Whether you’re fueling up for the road or settling in for a full meal, this diner hits the spot!

We visited for dinner and the breakfast with the family the next morning. We did not have to wait for a table either time. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. Our food was quick to come out and delicious. For dinner I had the tuna melt on Rye. It was really good, and just enough tuna for a thick but not messy sandwich. My husband had the chili cheese hot dog, and also really enjoyed it. For breakfast we were a party of seven. Again fast service and food. Many opted for omlettes. I added a blueberry muffin, it was delectable, and really big. Our gluten free family member enjoyed the bana split parfait, with gluten free toast. When we visit again, I will be trying their Eggs Benedict, I had had it two day in a row so opted for a scramble instead.

Stopped at Mystic Diner during a 2025 road trip from Philly, and it was a solid diner experience overall. The food was classic and satisfying — just what you’d expect from a traditional diner menu. Nothing over the top, but everything we ordered was fresh and hit the spot. What really stood out was the atmosphere. The waitress was super nice, and the staff and other patrons were genuinely friendly. It’s the kind of place where people still make eye contact and smile — a rare find these days. Big bonus for dog lovers: Mystic Diner is truly dog-friendly. Unlike most places that limit you to outdoor seating, here you can actually bring your dog inside the restaurant. That alone makes it worth remembering, especially if you’re traveling with a pup. One downside — they charge per cup of coffee, which is unusual for diners where refills are usually bottomless. Not a dealbreaker, but something to keep in mind if you’re a caffeine fiend. All in all, Mystic Diner is a friendly, welcoming stop with good food and a unique dog-friendly policy. Would happily stop here again on the road.

Stopped in on our way up to Massachusetts. We ordered a corned beef rueben with onion rings and a turkey wrap. We were going to get the lobster roll but it was $30 (hot) and $29 (cold) which we just felt was too expensive. Bathrooms were clean and there is plenty of parking. It’s right off the highway so easy on/easy off. It added ~55 minutes to our trip but it was worth it! Better than McDonald’s for sure. Overall service was decent. Initially we were a little upset because the people next to us who sat down 5 minutes after us were taken care of and served drinks before our server even said hello but once we got past that it was smooth sailing.

Been here a couple times when visiting Mystic. Seemed renovated since last time we came. We shared the Open Faced Turkey Sandwich. It was just OK. I was honestly expecting better. Had to add Pepper to bring some flavor into it. Wouldn't order it again. But the breakfast looked good.

The Captain Daniel Packer Inne is a historic colonial building that houses an English pub with a lively bar area and an elegant upstairs dining room. This restaurant offers a unique dining experience, serving contemporary cuisine made with locally sourced ingredients such as fresh seafood, prime beef, imported pasta, and fresh salads. The bar provides a wide selection of wines, craft beers, and classic cocktails while featuring live music every night.
I will tell you, right on the marina and having so much history, this restaurant does not disappoint. We decided on sandwiches and nachos for an appetizer. The burger was amazing, with aged cheddar, bacon crumbles, and cooked to perfection. The Ruben was packed with deliciousness and cooked perfectly. The nachos with the chili on top were some of the best I have ever had. The service was top-notch, and the atmosphere was quaint and inviting.

It's a lovely spot in Mystic, CT, with a lot of history and decent food. The salmon tacos (I subbed the fries for the almond goat cheese salad, which was okay) were great (and wild), along with Cod and chips. The service takes the cake. Thank you, Gigi and Sarah. We will be back.

This restaurant just outside of the downtown area provided a great dining experience for us in Mystic. Our waitress was phenomenal and made the night for us. She was very attentive, offering to take photos and bringing a side of extra sauce for my dish when she thought it might have needed a little more than what was served. The old restored building was quaint and charming, the food was great, the view of the harbor from our table was perfect, and the parking was easy. The bread service (for a small charge) was served with a head of warm roasted garlic. I tried their famous roasted cod, a dish I hadn't had before. I really enjoyed it and the sauce was deliciously rich. The clam chowder was perfect and my husband enjoyed his scallops dish.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Charming pub with unforgettable food and friendly service! Daniel Packer Inn is a quaint, cozy little pub right in the heart of Mystic, and it absolutely delivered on charm and flavor. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the bartender, who was incredibly friendly and helpful with recommendations throughout our visit. We started with two American light lagers on draft, a cup of creamy clam chowder, and six of the most delicate, fresh oysters I’ve ever had. For dinner, I had the hot lobster roll with fries—loaded with tender lobster meat and packed with flavor. My husband ordered the DPI skewers with steak, scallops, and shrimp, plus a Caesar salad and perfectly roasted potatoes. Everything was fresh, cooked to perfection, and reasonably priced for the quality. The atmosphere, food, and service made this an absolute must-visit spot in Mystic. We’ll definitely be back!

We were recommended to come here from our boat captain and thank goodness we did! The atmosphere is cozy and slightly chaotic in the best way. John, our server, was the type of server every restaurant wants. He handled every table with grace despite being very busy. He took the time to give us recommendations and they were great recommendations. We had the espresso martini with coconut tequila and trust me, get it. The oysters were fresh and delicious, the scallops melted in your mouth. 10/10 recommend this restaurant and John!

Restaurant
Located in downtown Mystic, The Mariner is a charming and unpretentious restaurant with tasteful nautical-themed decor. It offers classic seafood and steak options, including their renowned Connecticut-style lobster rolls served with warm butter on toasted split-top buns. The restaurant's relaxed ambiance, soothing lighting, and happy hour deals make it a popular choice for locals and tourists alike.
Stopped in Mystic on our way to Maine. We had read to try Connecticut lobster roll to compare to Maines. We stopped in Mystic, wandered around and stopped at The Mariner to have a light dinner and to try a lobster roll. We got the New England clam chowder, a wedge salad and the lobster roll. We were seated immediately outside per our request. We were greeted immediately by our server. Our drinks and clam chowder came out super super quick. The rest of our food was pretty quick as well. Even with them being fairly busy. Everything tasted amazing, our server was on top of everything. Would absolutely come back!

Came in here to have some food and drinks while enjoying downtown Mystic! Sat in a booth in the bar area and was immediately greeted by the waitress who was friendly and stayed on top of things the entire time as well as the support staff who also came by the table. Everything here is made from scratch and they use local seafood and even tell you about it and where it came from! The chilled shrimp is the best we’ve ever had! The clam chowder was extremely delicious and tasted very authentic and hit the spot so we even ordered a second cup! We did try a lobster roll as it’s a popular menu item however it wasn’t for us, probably just our preference. The bread was good on the roll, again, just our preference so if you like Lobster try it! All the drinks were good and they had a large selection. Even the margarita had flavor of the day options, I tried today’s flavor which was passion fruit! Very clean restaurant and friendly staff! Highly recommend! We’ll be back!

Absolutely outstanding! The Mariner is hands down one of the best spots in the area for anyone who loves top-quality food and a great dining experience. My girlfriend Karina and I stopped in during the afternoon and had an amazing time enjoying their happy hour from 4pm to 6pm—the deals were unbeatable and made everything even better. We ordered several items off the happy hour menu and were seriously impressed. We each got a smash burger, and they were juicy, flavorful, and perfectly seared with that ideal crust. The fried mozzarella was golden and gooey, and the 6 oysters were super fresh and chilled just right. Every bite hit the mark. To kick things off, we each had a happy hour drink—I got a vodka soda with a splash of pineapple juice, and Karina had a vodka soda with a splash of blood orange juice. Both were refreshing and perfectly made. Later on, we also tried their specialty cocktails: Karina had the Riverside 75—light, crisp, and elegant—while I went with the Summer Break, which was fruity, smooth, and exactly what I needed to unwind. We also shared the Prime Rib French Dip entrée, and it was incredible—tender, flavorful meat on a perfectly toasted roll, served with a rich au jus that brought it all together. It was the perfect dish to split and made the afternoon feel even more special. The local seafood overall was incredibly fresh, the pasta was clearly homemade and full of flavor, and the prime steak we tried was cooked to perfection. You can tell the kitchen takes real pride in what they serve. The music playing in the background really added to the vibe—it was relaxing and enjoyable without being too loud. It created a great atmosphere that made the whole experience even better. And a special shoutout to our server, Michelle, who was absolutely perfect. She was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything went smoothly without ever feeling rushed. She really made us feel welcome. The whole place had a warm, laid-back energy that made Karina and I want to stay even longer. If you’re looking for a perfect afternoon spot with amazing food, drinks, music, service, and value, The Mariner is a must.

Excellent! We tried this spot for dinner while visiting the town for the day. We were able to get seated right away. Our server was great. I definitely wanted to try seafood since we were on the east coast. I had clam chowder and the scallops. Both were delicious! The scallop dish was seasoned perfectly, very generous portion and I especially loved the corn risotto it was served on. Highly recommended this spot!

Nice place!, I was visiting for a reunion, it had been 11yrs since I was in the area. Although I missed some of my old favorites that have now closed, I found a new one! I had the Lobster roll & Clam Chowder, along with a Old Fashioned. Freshest lobster roll I've ever had!, would have liked a little more buttery roll but it was OUTSTANDING! The Clam Chowder was also Excellent...great flavor, not too creamy, and just the right mix of vegetables and Clams. Service was great, friendly and I was not over attended nor under attended. It did feel like I was being hidden because I'm a middle aged man and was by myself (I'm used to it, but expected better from this type of place). The atmosphere was friendly, and the dining room guests seemed to all be enjoying themselves. Definitely a place I'd go back to next time I'm in the Mystic CT area.

The Mariner is a fantastic spot in Mystic, CT! It’s conveniently located near the old seaport and right in the heart of town. The seafood here is excellent and reasonably priced. I started with the clam chowder, which was rich, flavorful, and packed with hearty chunks of clams. I also had the lobster roll, which I’d easily rank in my top 10—fresh, delicious, and full of flavor. I only wish it had just a little more lobster and butter, but overall it was still a great value. My fiancé ordered the swordfish, which was also incredibly fresh and well-prepared. Overall, The Mariner is a must-visit when in Mystic, but definitely make a reservation since it gets very busy

Awesome food and service! We left Red 36 because we couldn't get seated outside but a DOG could. Seriously, they let a dog in, so we came to Rocks and were seated outside right away. Atmosphere, service and food were awesome. And no dogs. Beautiful view also! Definitely will be going back!

Came here for my husbands birthday. Evan our server was amazing. He went above and beyond to tell the band that was playing that we were celebrating. The soup clam chowder was AMAZING so fresh and rich and large portion! I also opted for a souvenir mug too! The spinach artichoke dip was also wonderful. Super creamy, rich and full of flavor. We got two drinks. I forgot the names but my husband finished his and mine was so refreshing. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to eat as much as I would have liked to because one of my medical conditions was flaring up. The fish and chips was delicious! Lightly breaded and fresh. The lemon made it taste even better. The chicken Marsala was wonderful! The chicken was tender. I loved the mushrooms. My husband enjoyed the potatoes. I really enjoyed the spinach. I wasn’t crazy about the sauce hence 4 stars. The dessert which was a brownie sundae was also ok. The Icecream and whipped cream were great! Overall I would def come back and try dining when I’m not in a flare! The live band was also so much fun and a wonderful touch! The view was beautiful as well!

Child-Friendly Spot with Great Views of Mystic We stopped by Inn at Mystic / Rocks 21 and were really impressed with the setting. Perched on a hill, the restaurant overlooks all of Mystic, offering some of the best views in town both indoors and from the deck outside. The atmosphere is very family-friendly — the kids loved it and felt welcome right away. The food was solid and satisfying: classic American staples like flatbread pizza, chicken tenders, and burgers with fries, all done well and presented nicely. What makes this place special, though, is the location and vibe. Whether you’re sitting inside by the big windows or outside on the deck, the views are just beautiful and add so much to the experience. Overall, a really good child-friendly bar/restaurant with amazing views and a relaxed feel. Definitely worth visiting if you’re in Mystic.

Mango's Wood-Fired Pizza Co. is a unique pizza restaurant located in Mystic, Connecticut, offering a comfortable setting with both indoor and outdoor seating. The heart of the restaurant is an open kitchen centered around a large wood-burning oven used to create fresh-baked bread for sandwiches and pizza dough made from scratch using traditional methods and simple ingredients. The menu features thin-crust pies, craft beer, artisan pizza, and locally sourced ingredients, reflecting a strong community focus.
Excellent wood fired pizza restaurant, offering a wide variety of toppings. They have pies on the menu, but also offer a build your own pizza option so you can exactly what you want. Pizza is either 12 or 16 inch pies, so you can share or have your own. They offer a wide assortment of local beers as well some mainstream brands. Food was excellent! Only minor issue is that the take-out orders are made at the same time and in the same small oven, so you may have to wait a bit for your order, depending on the volume of take out orders. Our server was excellent and apologized for the delay caused by the take out orders.

Mangoes woodfired pizza Company offered quick friendly service in a spacious environment located in old Mystic village. With plenty of seating inside and out, we did not wait for a table. Our server was attentive and quick to take our orders we opted for the buffalo wings which were crispy and delicious and two cheese pizzas that definitely satisfied. Worth a visit when you’re in an old Mystic village.

We found a pizza place we liked today, in Olde Mystik Village. My pizza had a crust that was thin, yet not wimpy; it was firm, but not burnt. Ralph's sandwich was made from pizza dough bread and was filled with huge meatballs. We'd like to go back again.

Old Mystic Village, Sat. afternoon for lunch. Very busy but not a long wait to get seated. Seating inside or out. In side at a table or bar seating. Sat down, very busy, bustling with waitresses, doing all the jobs. We ordered the shark bites and the jake pizza. Heard a lot of good things about there pizza. The crust thin, crunchy and honestly a very good pizza and the jake was very tasty. Our waitress was busy but ontop of everything. This is not a fast food place, took a bit but it was worth the wait. You will see in the house rules that good things come to those who wait. Would come again, maybe not on a Sat. afternoon. Their is only two bathrooms, there was a line and the bathrooms are huge, could have put stalls to make it more efficient but no other complaints. This is not a quiet place but was able to still have a conversation without shouting. Redo place. It is handicap accessible

We were in the area, and had to stop to try Mango’s famous pizza. We saw it all over social media and decided to give it a try. We were towards the end of our trip, so we ordered a pie to eat on the way home. The have a large selection on the menu from pizza, to salads, and even burgers. We loved the pizza. It was made perfectly and the flavor was great! On another occasion, we will definitely come back to sit and eat in!

Pizza was very overwhelming, the combination of flavors were not good. Nachos were BAD, very dry, almost no toppings. They do not have any beers on tap. I didn’t expect anything fancy, but we had paper plates and plastic cups, I felt like I was on a picnic, with cheap food. At least the staff were very nice and welcoming.

The food and drinks at this Italian restaurant were absolutely fantastic. I highly recommend starting with one of their espresso martinis, which was perfectly balanced and refreshing. The ziti with beef was a hearty and delicious main course, and the cheese plate was an excellent way to finish the meal. The atmosphere was welcoming and the service was top-notch. I will definitely be back!

Delicious authentic Italian restaurant with a bistro buzz in the heart of Mystic. From the cavatelli with sea scallops and short rib pasta, to the desserts and wine selection - everything was amazing. For dessert, try the affogato, tiramisu or their famous Emilia double espresso martini, which also comes in decaf. Service was great too! Perfect for a fun night with 4-8 people to a romantic dinner for two. Highly recommend.

The service was excellent, the food was good. The charcuterie board was a little unil-inventive, but the oliver in it were spectacular. For the main course, I had the veal porterhouse, which was cooked and seasoned well. The fingerling potatoes were a bit too much on the rosemary side for my liking. The drinks menu was good, and the table really enjoyed the espresso martini. All in all, a decent place to eat Italian food when in Mystic.

Located in Olde Mystic Village, Jealous Monk is a popular European beer hall and social club offering a convivial atmosphere and a diverse menu. With over 30 beers on draft, this spot is perfect for beer enthusiasts. The open brewery-style space features a huge outdoor patio that is kid-friendly, making it an ideal destination for families.
Stopped in at Jealous Monk for breakfast, which is not something you normally think of here since it’s better known as a German-style beer hall. The menu was definitely different than your usual breakfast spot—and it worked. The eggs with hash came out in a skillet and were excellent, hearty, and flavorful. The bangers with pancakes were also spot on, a great mix of traditional and nontraditional. What makes it stand out is how they take classic breakfast dishes and put their own spin on them. Everything we ordered was really well done, and it felt like a fresh take on the usual breakfast routine. Between the food and the atmosphere, it’s an all-around nice place to go for breakfast in Mystic. Highly recommend giving it a try if you want something a little different from the standard diner-style breakfast.

Beautiful place and ambiance. Excellent service by all staff who are constantly checking on you and helping each other. Coffee was perfectly made to my requests. Corned beef Benny was bland, even after copious amounts of salt and pepper, though that is a matter of personal taste. The food used quality ingredients and had an inviting presentation. A delicious (and complementary) old fashioned bottle of water made the perfect compliment to my brunch! Finally, the lime raspberry cake tasted good, though not moist and somewhat of a Little Debbie cake consistency, which was the only part of the meal I wouldn't recommend. Overall a pleasant experience I'd highly recommend if you're in the neighborhood, as I happened to drive by.

They have a wide variety of food and lots to choose from. We got the Buffalo Chicken Rangoon, a 1/2 rack of ribs, the Chicken Schnitzel, and of course the New England Clam Chowder. Jealous Monk is a beer hall and garden located in the Olde Mistick Village. The interior is spacious with high ceilings and long tables. The outside patio is also spacious with plenty of seating. There are dozens of rotating draft beers, cocktails, and wine. They also have a good selection of food; from pretzels, burgers, wings, and more. I'm a fan of craft beer so I had to stop in. I love that it is kid friendly too. We ate outside on a beautiful summer evening. Our server was friendly and attentive. I had the red sangria which was good. We started off with the buffalo chicken crab rangoons which were decent. They had lobster rolls on the menu so I had to order it. I love the cold style; it's mixed with mayo on lettuce and a buttered bun. They loaded it with lobster meat. Overall, my family and I enjoyed our meals and drinks! I highly recommend!

As a native Texan, I’ve had my fair share of hearty breakfasts, but Somewhere in Time really impressed me. I ordered the Santa Fe omelette, added bacon, and paired it with corned beef hash—and it hit the spot in every way. The omelette itself was packed with flavor, and adding bacon gave it that smoky, savory kick that reminded me of home. What really surprised me was how well the Santa Fe mix balanced—every bite had that Southwestern flair I grew up on. And let me talk about the corned beef hash—seasoned just right and grilled to a perfect crisp. Every forkful had that crunchy outside with tender, flavorful beef inside. Honestly, it’s one of the best hashes I’ve had up here. If you’re looking for a diner that delivers comfort, flavor, and a touch of home, Somewhere in Time is worth every visit. They nailed it.

I would give 4 stars for the food if they didn't forget to put cheese on my bacon cheeseburger. We got the food to go and I wasn't going back for cheese. 😓 The bacon was all in a clump and hard. The lettuce had a giant hard rib down the middle. The burger was cooked perfect. The fries were good and the rolls fresh. He had the black and blue burger ( his go to for burgers) he said it was the best one he's ever had, it had good spice on the burger.

Crazy long wait for a subpar grinder. I was in a wicked rush, and the young girl at the register promised that the fastest thing they could make was a ham and cheese grinder. She said it would only take around 5 minutes, which was perfect. Ended up taking over a half hour. Will not be coming again

Not only did our waitress Ashlee put the cheese pizza order in correctly, the chef made it perfectly! The BBQ chicken pizza was AMAZING. Spent $50 for a large pizza (nothing tasty or large), hot wings( little fried wings which didn’t have hot sauce on them nor meat) and a coke. I almost felt like returning the wings. Took a pic with fork next to wing so you can see how small they were. $13. Rip off

Ate here for the first time recently in all our visits to Mystic. Food was good, server was courteous and capable and the food was what you would expect from a solid and popular local pizza place/ restaurant. No knock on any of the above. I only gave it 3 stars as the prices were pretty darn expensive for this type setting compared to similar restaurants in our town. I get it, as is the case with a tourist destination. $21.50 for a chicken parm dinner, $16 for a bbq chicken sandwich. For three adults and 1 child, including tip and one appetizer... approx $108. I wouldn't pay that in our hometown, no matter how good the food. They have live music, so it can be a bit loud. Men's room extremely small and super dirty. Had to actually fix the stopper in the tank so it would flush. Definitely tourist prices and Biden inflation at work here.

The wife and I brought in our three little girls ages 2, 4, and 6 YO. The pizza, grinder, kids pasta and meatballs, and kids chicken tenders and fries were beyond amazing! Their menu is full of options and all their food is great!

Breakfast restaurant
Rise is a cozy daytime eatery located in downtown Mystic, CT, offering locally sourced breakfast and lunch options in a modern setting. Since 2016, the small spot has been serving dishes made with local produce, dairy, meats, and maple syrup from nearby farms. The menu features a variety of breakfast items such as sandwiches, brisket hash, omelets, Benedicts, buttermilk pancakes, French toast with fruit or nuts toppings.
Rise is a charming restaurant with great service and delicious fresh farm to table dishes. The presentation and attention to detail makes the restaurant a “must visit”.The next time you visit Mystic, stop by. If there is a wait, you can put your name on a list and take a walk throughout downtown. They will message you when your table is ready. It’s worth it, trust me.

Our group of four ventured into the bustling atmosphere of Presidents’ Day weekend, fully aware of the 45-minute wait ahead after putting our names down. However, the anticipation was well rewarded! While awaiting our table, we explored the charming town, appreciating the convenience of receiving text alerts once it was our turn. Upon finally settling in, we were treated to a hearty breakfast that surpassed expectations. Locally sourced ingredients added a delightful touch to each dish, with the bacon particularly standing out for its perfect crispiness. Amidst the natural light streaming in, our brunch with the in-laws felt like a relaxed occasion, further accentuated by the positive vibes permeating the establishment. Without hesitation, I wholeheartedly endorse Rise for anyone seeking a stellar dining experience.

Seriously one of the cutest and most delicious breakfasts! I love the location and the totally chill vibe. My egg, avocado and bacon sandwich was spot on! Grab a coffee cup, serve yourself in one of the eclectic cups and order something yummy! The portions were plentiful and everything was so good! Worth the stop in to just take in the atmosphere and food!

This a little place with big flavors. Everything is made fresh and locally sourced. Coffee is self serve at the front and they have a random assortment of mugs :-) We stopped in for breakfast and my husband had the Italian breakfast sandwich - really good with a nice kick from the spicy sausage. I had the hash and eggs - the hash is homemade with brisket. Best hash I've ever had. My only regret is that we weren't around long enough to stop in for lunch because they have ramen. Great place. We'll be back next time we're I'm Mystic!

Small, but quaint restaurant. Self serve coffee station was nice. The Chahalla french toast with strawberries and bananas was yummy! Fruit was very fresh. The eggs benedict was good, the hollandaise sauce had a little to eggy taste for my liking. Staff is super friendly.

Great food but they charge extra for basic toppings but french toast. The toastmonster were banging the pancakes are huge. The coffee is self serve. Paid parking lot across the street available. Total bill was $46. 20 min wait at 12 pm when we got there but text u when table is ready. There is one bathroom available on site. Id come back. The little mels sandwiches are to die for

I stopped in here on a Wednesday morning to grab some breakfast after reading some of the amazing reviews. We got a spicy sausage breakfast sandwich and a ham breakfast sandwich, both were great. The best part was the cheese that was used was made crispy and placed on top of the meat almost like a chip. Also the spicy sausage as homemade and actually had a good kick to it! I'd recommend a stop in for a visit.

Highly recommended!!! Take out ONLY. You should try the Tranmonster! Have all ingredients in one bite😋 Also, if you like the mild coffee, try its coffee. It was so goood. Good service and she was really amiable.

Really great coffees! I've never been disappointed! The lemon donuts are AMAZING! Prices might seem a bit high, but the quality is very good. The donuts are super thick, so it's worth it. We always share one!

Deviant Donuts is a blast—fun, unique flavors that taste as awesome as they look. The coffee was smooth and satisfying, and the staff was super friendly. Loved the relaxed, cozy vibe of the seating area. A perfect spot to treat yourself and chill.

Creative and tasty donuts! Worth the wait and visit. The line moved very quick. We got the strawberry crunch and samoa. Both were delicious. Soft, fluffy, and bursting with sweetness goodness. Got lattes to compliment the donuts and it did not disappoint. There are some outside seatings for those who want to sit and enjoy the yummy treats.
Anhdao Z — Google review
We came to Mystic, and wanted to get something sweet after we had lunch. We saw this place on social media and they said that the doughnuts here were great, so we decided to try it out. The place is small but had a good space outside to sit. They have a wide variety of different treats and we tried a doughnut. It was very good and very soft. The flavor wasn’t too sweet and the sprinkles were perfect. We definitely want to come back to try more things on the menu soon!
Andres G — Google review
Cute donut shop in the olde village. Get there early for the best selection. We had a gluten sensitive cider donut —-very sugary and nice flavor and crumb. We also couldn’t decide between the fluffernutter (filled donut) or the PB Cup, so got both to try. They both had nice flavor, though I’m not sure I could have eaten a whole one of either. The bake on the filled donut was very good. They also had some nice seasonal coffee options.
Monica Y — Google review
The donuts look fun and definitely fun to bring your kids too. The designs are adorable and the flavors too. We only got to try the Samoa donut and it’s a bit too sweet for us but still good.
Christina W — Google review
We always pre-order gluten free donuts for our family since a few have celiac disease. The donuts here are extremely good! They have specials all the time and have a wide variety of flavors to choose from. The store gets very busy in the morning and the line tends to get pretty long. That's why we pre-order the day prior. They also have lattes and coffee and other drinks. We return often due to the quality and taste of the donuts.
Heath C — Google review
During our recent visit, we purchased two donuts, four cookies, a coffee, and a tea, totaling $30.00. Upon returning to our hotel, we assessed the items. The Boston cream donut was satisfactory, though the cream filling was minimal. The apple cider donut possessed an accurate flavor profile, however, it was over-fried, resulting in a hard texture. Regarding the cookies, we selected a MM, chocolate chip, white chocolate macadamia nut, and pumpkin variety. While the cookies were substantial in size and thickness, the dough lacked sufficient flavor. We would not recommend based of our experience.

This young crew is so very lovely - super polite, patient and kind! I went in not having an 100% idea of what I wanted, just knew I needed something decaf and multiple suggestions were made after a few questions about what I like. I ended up with a decaf pumpkin Frappuccino and it was light and delicious- just right for the seasons recently change in the air! Also, you can never have enough whipped with cinnamon!😁 Pluses: - Coffee ☕️ is on point - customer service is top notch - great indoor and outdoor seating areas for a quick meet up or a longer sit for studying. 🥰 Cons: - though delicious I don’t know if I can justify a daily Frappuccino purchase, $7+ for a tall is a stretch especially for such a global brand. I would understand if it was a small Mom + Pop but I may just reserve these for a special occasion and go back to my normal pike place.

Absolutely convenient location (by the Mystic Aquarium) makes it a perfect spot to grab a coffee while you wrap up your day at the aquarium and looking to grab a coffee on your way back. There are enough seating options available and parking is not a problem as there are enough parking spots in the Mystic Green compound. Staff is very humble and supportive of your preferences and selection.

We stopped in this Starbucks on our daily Starbucks trip traveling through New England 3-3-24. It is beautiful outside and inside. Unfortunately, our experience with the staff wasn’t as pleasant. They were rude and impatient. Coffee was average.

This is the worst experience I've had at Starbucks. There is process improvement needed on the mobile order vs cafe order. Using principles of LEAN would assist this store in getting orders out in a timely manner. I ordered two frappuccinos and no less than 20 mobile orders were processed in front of me. The customer who is in the store should be the customer served first. Process improvement such as having the customer let you know when they arrive at the store may assist you at this store in reducing backlog. Also I watched 2 team members leave the floor while there were 10 people in line to order and 15 people waiting to get orders in store. I have attached pictures of the amount of mobile orders sitting on the counter for 20 minutes while instore customers were left sitting. Lean and Six Sigma may help this store perform at a higher level. TLDR ordered 2 drinks at 1035 and didn't get then until 1100.

Obsessed with their lattes, especially their seasonal Peppermint Mocha latte, and selection of Pressed juices!! My family loves their cheesecake brownie, breakfast sandwiches, and baguettes. Also love their merch, I get so many compliments. They have a run club and have built the coolest community. It’s my favorite place to stop by for a nice cold bev post-run. Friendly staff. Delicious pastries, the freshest croissants, great coffee selections; cappuccino, espresso, latte, hot or cold. Nice neighborhood/community atmosphere. Absolutely love it here! Their breakfast sandwiches are out of this world and their raspberry shortbread is the best sweet treat I’ve ever had. I come here quite often and they've never had a bad day. They make everything in house and you can tell based on the quality of their food. They are always so friendly and greet every person walking in as a friend. Best breakfast by far!

My wife and I went this morning for breakfast. It sits off the road and is easy to miss. The staff was great. Everyone that walked in was greeted and welcomed. The O.G. sandwich was larger than expected for the price. It’s served on a ciabatta roll made in the store and is one of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve had. The Gringo wrap was also very good. If we lived near by we would definitely go back.

Really enjoyed coming here. The food, service, and eating area were lovely. Really enjoyed the breakfast sandwich and muffins. Their drink flavors were so good too. Before visiting mystic, CT I read a lot about Sift but, frankly, I enjoyed the lighthouse much more and wish I’d stopped in sooner!

This place is tucked away down a driveway and totally surprising. The environment was friendly and welcoming. The coffee was delicious (I’ll take 2)! And the egg sandwich, OMG! My Fiance and I felt so comfortable and taken care of. We said to each other, whenever we come back to Mystic we have to stop here. Do yourself a favor and go. You won’t regret it! Best breakfast sandwich I’ve had in a long time!

You know when you enter the Stonington side of Mystic, and the confusion of navigating around a flagpole in the middle of an intersection is either setting in or subsiding? Right there near that cloud of confusion is the sign for Lighthouse Bakery. Not just a bakery, its a full blown cafe, family owned and operated. I have driven past that sign one hundred times, yesterday, my bride and I pulled in. First we were pleasantly surprised there is a bit of parking back there so you don't have park on the street. There is a sizable outdoor space to sit, and decent amount of indoor seating as well. The young men behind the counter were very attentive directing us to menus and alerting us to the pastries of the day. Then there is the menu, bigger than we thought and more than baked goods. Sandwiches, Wraps, Pancakes, French Toast, Salads, and all the coffee drinks. After some deliberation we ordered lattes (latti?), one with almond milk one with cow's milk, and breakfast sandwiches. We ordered the Big 55 and the Mystic Melt. First the latti, they were probably the best in Mystic proper. I will go to Lighthouse Bakery for my caffeinated needs whenever I am downtown, from now on. The sandwiches were delicious! Fresh ciabatta, delicious chipotle aioli, egg done to perfection. We will be visiting again soon! They have a running club too!! So skip the train station, get out of the throng of tourists on the Groton side of Mystic and get a tasty sandwich and some of that black liquid gold from Light House Bakery!

Taquerio is a trendy taco spot that has been serving up street-style tacos for the past three years. Housed in a converted gas station that has been around since the 1950s, this hip joint offers speedy service, customizable options, and a fun outdoor atmosphere with games like giant Jenga and Connect Four during warmer months. The menu features handmade tacos and margaritas, including unique options like oyster po boy taco.
Very cool spot. Dog friendly outdoor area! If I lived in Mystic I'd be almost everyday! Veggie friendly menu, cheap eats and drinks, good times, historic landmark.
Jen W — Google review
Taquerio is the spot for tacos in Mystic — fun, casual, and packed with flavor. We tried the chips with guac, queso, and salsa trio — each one hit differently (and deliciously). Tacos were next-level: brisket, fish, and pork were all juicy, flavorful, and well-seasoned. Bonus points for the extra pickled onions and spicy crema. But the real star? The watermelon margarita. Bright, refreshing, and not overly sweet. Their frozen drinks in general are 10/10. 🍉🍹 The vibe is unbeatable — a cool converted garage with open-air seating, vintage decor, and a chill playlist. It feels like the kind of place you want to stay awhile. Great for summer hangs or casual nights out. ✨ Fast service, friendly staff (even when it’s packed), and cool decor make this a must-visit. 📸 Also — super photogenic spot if you’re into food pics and aesthetic (they have a “Photo Booth”!) I’ll definitely be back!
Catalina S — Google review
We were staying nearby and kept walking past this place. Looks like a former gas station, don't know if it is that or an interesting design choice, regardless, it's a fun place. We arrived 8ish on a Tuesday in late August. Staff were recovering from 2 or 3 large groups. Yet they were still helpful and friendly. The margaritas and cocktails were well mixed and delicious. Tacos were delicious! We had fish tacos, wild mushrooms, po boy, carnitas & all were flavorful and tasty. So glad we stopped by and will again in the future.
Kitchen B — Google review
We’ve been to Taquerio twice now, and it’s become a go-to spot in Mystic. The food is fantastic — fresh, flavorful tacos (the barbacoa and carnitas are top notch, and the fish tacos are a must), plus nachos that are fully loaded and perfect for sharing. Even the chips and queso were a hit at our table. But what really makes this place stand out is the atmosphere. It’s laid-back, lively, and fun. We came on bingo night, and it was such a great experience — not only for us, but for the kids too. They loved playing bingo, Connect 4, and even the bean bag toss game, which kept them entertained while we enjoyed our food and drinks. Between the cool bar setup, friendly staff, and family-friendly activities, Taquerio nails the balance of being both a fun night out spot and a welcoming place to bring kids. Highly recommended if you’re in Mystic and want something casual, delicious, and memorable.
Review K — Google review
Not my first visit and will definitely not be my last! Caritas, barbacoa, fish, avocado, plantains, blah blah blah. Everything they serve is delicious! Ordering from the table QR code resulted in crazy fast food delivery! Can't wait to come back!

What an awesome place to eat, the tacos are so good, wish they would be more per portion, but it is totally fine. Drinks are also good, and they serve drinks like jarritos and Mexican Coca Cola. The ambience it’s so nice, and they even accept dogs. Overall a good place for family and friends. (Could not resist so I took a bite 😂)

Taquerio is such a fun spot, set in an old gas station that's been transformed into an awesome restaurant with great outdoor seating. We had the tacos and margaritas, and they were absolutely amazing! The smaller tacos are perfect because you can try a bunch of different flavors. Four of us had a delicious breakfast at this great little coffee shop, including two of us who are vegan. Don’t be fooled by the posted menu, which doesn’t list any vegan options and says “no substitutions.” In fact, the friendly and helpful staff person offered to “vegans” just about any dish we were interested in, and we had a delicious vegan meal. I cannot say enough good things about Mix!! They were incredibly accommodating and saved the day for us when we had to find a new venue for our rehearsal dinner and welcome party when our original location went out of business unexpectedly. They provided the perfect atmosphere, incredible drinks and truly delicious food for our guests. Britt in particular was wonderful and a delight to work with, doing anything she could to make sure our day was perfect. We both agree that our rehearsal dinner and welcome drinks were highlights of the weekend. Everything worked out better than we could have imagined and we are so grateful we ended up at Mix!!

As a local who frequents Mix in all its seasons, I was blown away by the stellar service and experience I had with my family this past weekend for my cousins birthday! I had only ever enjoyed Mix in a small group, but was amazed with how accommodating they were for a reservation for a large group of 15! Our server was on top of everything, including checking around the table for allergies, as there were a few young children in our party. As a teacher and someone who works at a summer camp, this attention to detail was so appreciated! I have nothing but good things to say about Mix!

Since we had a fantastic experience at Mix on a previous trip to Mystic, my husband and I knew we had to return when we were in the area again. Mix Restaurant & Rooftop Bar does not disappoint! We love that they offer a really creative menu - everything is locally sourced and incredibly fresh. The crispy pork ribs were addictive, the squash soup with apple salad hit the mark as a seasonal combo, and the grilled swordfish was cooked perfectly. You truly can’t go wrong with any of Adam’s desserts but no matter how full you are, you’ll make room for an Adam T. Young bonbon - they’re irresistible! With a really inviting atmosphere and attentive service, this is the perfect spot for date nights, celebrations, or catching up with friends. Already planning our next visit!

A Disheartening Experience at a Former Favorite My husband and I recently visited this restaurant to celebrate our pregnancy. I've dined here many times before and have always had exceptional service, so I was looking forward to another great experience. Unfortunately, this visit was deeply disappointing and upsetting. To give some context, I am white and my husband is Black. In all my previous visits, I’ve come with white friends—and never had an issue. This time, things felt markedly different. We waited around 15 minutes before our server even acknowledged us. When I asked about one of the drinks on the menu, she described it as “strawberry, sweet, and creamy.” We went ahead and ordered both drinks and our food at the same time. However, when my drink finally arrived 15–20 minutes later, it had a pepper rim and was extremely strong—nothing like what was described. My husband’s bourbon was oddly served in a tall flute glass. I even had him taste my drink to make sure it contained alcohol because it was so off. When I told the server it wasn’t what I expected, she took it back to the bar and returned with the exact same drink, saying, “This is what you ordered. If you wanted something creamier, we have other options on the menu.” I reminded her that I had asked beforehand and was told it would be sweet and creamy. Eventually, she brought me a cranberry juice instead. At that point, I asked for bread and was told it would cost $4 unless we were ordering food. I reminded her we had already placed our food order—only for her to realize she had completely forgotten to send it to the kitchen. She walked off, came back with bread, and didn’t offer any apology. We waited a full hour from when we sat down before receiving our food—and it wasn’t even brought by our server. She didn’t check in on us until we were nearly finished. I had to ask for a box and later flag her down again to get the bill. What made this worse was watching her provide attentive, friendly service to other tables nearby, especially to the guests right next to us. She seemed overwhelmed, but it was clear she was prioritizing other patrons while neglecting our table. Given how wonderful this restaurant has been in the past, this experience was heartbreaking. The only difference this time was that I was with my Black husband. It’s painful to think that may have influenced how we were treated—but after what we experienced, I can’t ignore the possibility. I will not be returning, and I can’t in good conscience recommend this restaurant to others. No one should be made to feel unwelcome or overlooked, especially in a place that once felt so inviting.

MIX above Sift Bakery I enjoyed an excellent dinner at Mix Restaurant and Rooftop Bar which is located above the world famous Sift Bake Shop in Mystic Connecticut. First of all, I did not know this place existed and when I went to dinner there with friend on the spur of the moment it was a pleasant surprise to get in. The outdoor atmosphere, the view and attentive staff were all great. Our waitress, Riley took very good care of us. One in a party got a signature cocktail which was delicious. One of our appetizers was the Crispy Pork Ribs that were cooked perfectly. I was expecting 3 ribs and we got 6. Our other appetizer was the Heirloom Tomato Salad. It was also superb and plentiful. We ordered a variety of great entrees that included the Coriander Crusted Tuna, Seared Stonnington Scallops and Short Rib Rigatoni. The Tuna included a delightful pepper jam with an olive oil infused poached potatoes, baby fennel, bok choi which served under a bed of water cress salad. The Seared Scallops was served on a bed of risotto with summer succotash and grilled corn and the Short Rib Rotini included Parmesan Crisps as an added treat. The combination of ingredients and flavors on this menu seemed very different from any other restaurant in the area which makes this restaurant “a must” to check out. You will not be disappointed. At the end of our dining experience, we treated ourselves to one dessert- the Coconut Exotic Fruit, which I found superb. It was combination of coconut panna cotta, mango sorbet and passion fruit curd. It was delicious. My only comment was that I would have added some toasted coconut shavings. However the combination of textures and flavors and serving presentation was definitely a masterpiece. Our consensus rating for the dining experience was 4.85 stars which is rounded up to 5 star. One more thing, at the end of dinner, our waitress, Riley came by and offered each of us one of their signature chocolates as an added treat. I highly recommend this place as a nice casual dinner experience in a relaxing atmosphere.

Recently went to the renovated Mix and was so impressed! Our server was so great & friendly. Everything from the bread & spreads, to the goat cheese fritters, the steak, Gene’s Dream dessert, and the delicious cocktails were all amazing! A beautiful summer spot and even happier that it’s year round as well now. We will definitely be back! 😊

We were late for our reservation due to trouble finding parking, and they were very understanding. The food was absolutely phenomenal as were the drinks. Our waitress was great and helped us with any questions we had. The only suggestion I have is to maybe put some hooks under the counter seating for purses? There isn't a lot of room at the counter space. It is a great spot though!

Wokery In Mystic is a Chinese restaurant located in the Mystic, Stonington, Groton, and New London areas of Connecticut. It is primarily a takeout spot with limited seating for dining in. The menu offers a combination meal for around $8, including options like fried rice, soup or an egg roll, and a main dish such as garlic chicken.
Typical looking Chinese food spot. Quick food, quick service. Good pricing for Mystic. My food was great, hot and fresh. My General Tsos chicken was tender and crisp. Fried rice was tasty, has flavor. :) wonton soup, temperature hot, tasteful, wontons flavorful.

Please subscribe to my YouTube channel aboricualifeinusa. Pretty expensive but food was good. Had the garlic wings and beef fried rice. Paid 24$.Service was excellent.

Delicious chicken with broccoli and egg roll lunch special! If you dine in like I did just make sure to let it cool down because it was super hot right off the wok. It's just a short walk or drive from the Mystic Seaport Museum.

Always ordered from here for years, never had an issue. A few days ago, I ordered some food for pickup. Drove 5 mins home. I ate it, it was delicious as always, then an hour and a half later, I couldnt stop going to the bathroom. It got to the point when I was so dehydrated due to severe diarrhea, my arms, hands, fingers were going numb. I developed a fever of almost 101 degrees, and had no sense of appitiete whatsoever. I checked myself into the ER, on the advice of a urgent care telehealth visit, where a stool sample discovered that I contracted NOROVIRUS. I can pinpoint that to the food I recieved from Wokery due to the fact that I didnt (and couldnt) eat anything else, except this food only. I work 2 fulltime jobs, and will be seeking financial compensation from this business for the three (3) days I missed out on from their food. I advise anyone eating here to exercise extreme caution when buying food from this place of business. Shame though, I really loved eating here.

Wokery set a standard with their food many years ago when they opened and never deviated from it. Food is affordable, portions are big, quality is top notch as far as quicker American style Chinese food restaurants go. This place is a staple for the locals, so happy they’re still going strong.
Patrick C — Google review
This place is criminally underrated. They have the best dumplings, and I have literally made myself ill because I could NOT stop eating their Singapore Mei Fun. I order takeout from them pretty regularly and if there's anything that's not awesome on their menu, I haven't found it.

This was my first visit to the Wokery in Mystic for takeout. Very modest American Chinese Restaurant. Typical Chinese memorabilia & decor. It appeared 95% takeout orders. It appears this place is run by Chinese people - likely from the Szechuan province bc of their menu items. (They have Szechuan specialities on their menu). I ordered the Wontons in Chili oil & the Chicken with Garlic (says it is spicy). Both my items were not spicy & were just “okay” in flavor. The items were not prepared according to authentic recipes so that was a bit of a bummer. I also didn’t find the items overly flavorful. The sauce on the Garlic Chicken was sweet & sour & watery. The won tons in chili oil were okay. They weren’t BAD - but they weren’t SOLIDLY GOOD. I have been to China, lived in the DC area & have eaten authentic Chinese for 30 yrs. This place prepares AMERICAN style Chinese food. It was hot & the portions were average. I try not to judge places immediately esp if it wasn’t great experience. I will give them another opportunity. They offer a dry chili chicken that I have had many times at other Szechuan restaurants that is excellent. I will try that here - I am hopeful will it be good bc it’s a dish from the Szechuan province. I will update this review after I try this place again.

Karma Kitchen Mystic & Juicery is a charming spot that offers a variety of nutritious options such as fresh salads, Acai bowls, wraps, and sandwiches. They take pride in using locally sourced ingredients to ensure the freshness of their meals and also offer refreshing green smoothies. The menu boasts plenty of choices for vegan and gluten-free items. Customers appreciate the thoughtful preparation of vegetarian options alongside vegan and meat choices.
Tried this place out for the first time today. The women working there were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. We got the vegan sushi, vegan Caesar salads, a karma boost smoothie, and a triple berry garden PBJ smoothie. Everything was very delicious and made with a lot of care. Expensive, but high quality, organic ingredients so it makes sense. The vegan carrot sushi was my favorite! We will definitely be back!

Nice little place to stop by and grab a drink. I tried the chocolate avocado shake and added a banana. I thought pricing was extremely reasonable and the service was quick and efficient.

I return to this spot year after year for one reason: the food. The bowls, wraps, and juices are consistently fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. If the quality weren’t so high, I wouldn’t go out of my way to keep coming back. That said, the customer service leaves much to be desired. On more than one occasion, I’ve stood at the counter for several minutes without so much as a glance or greeting. The young staff often seem to go out of their way to avoid eye contact or basic acknowledgment, which feels both awkward and unnecessary. I’m not expecting a grand welcome—just a simple, timely confirmation that someone will take my order. There have also been small but noticeable quality slips, like receiving a box of chip crumbs rather than actual chips—twice. If you’re out, just say so. Don’t assume I won’t notice once I’m on the go. The atmosphere can also be overwhelming. The constant blender noise is understandable, but occasionally, loud music or abrupt banging from the kitchen adds a chaotic energy that borders on hostile. Still, the food remains excellent, and for that reason alone, I continue to return. I just wish the overall experience reflected the same care and attention that clearly goes into the menu.

Tried one of their green smoothie’s and it was very refreshing for a hot day! And a green juice ! Would definitely come back to try an açaí bowl ! Loved the atmosphere ! Very cute little spot hidden in mystic parking is free behind the cafe.

Visited in May 2017. The owner was super friendly & the fruit Acai bowl was super fresh and yummy! Suggested some updates to the Acai bowl, however we still thought it was great!! Check out this little Juicery tucked into a corner next to Lis Bakery!

They have smoothies, juices, coffees, teas and a fantastic food menu with gluten free options! Everything I got was delicious! I would love to take this place back home with me to Knoxville.
Angelina R — Google review
I really wanted to love this place because I like juice bars with vegan options. The service was a bit slow and the staff seemed a bit out of sorts/spacey. They have good options on the menu but they are heavy handed on the salt. The black tea is a special blend and not what most people are used to. I had the Thai wrap which was good albeit a little salty with the dressing. My uncle enjoyed his egg salad wrap and my aunt got a salad that had pure sea salt dressing (it was that salty) and carrot bacon which again was too salty. If I ever came back I'd stick with a smoothie or acai bowl as they might be better at those.
Stacy L — Google review
The food and staff at Karma Kitchen are awesome. I love having so many thoughtfully prepared vegetarian options, but they also have vegan and meat options too. If you enjoy mushrooms, you have to try the vegan chickpea + mushroom marsala, even if you aren't vegan. It's full of flavor! My other favorite is the Thai veggie wrap. The Thai peanut dressing is seriously addicting, I would probably eat rocks if they were coated in it! Enjoy supporting this locally owned small business, you'll be glad you did!

Coffee shop
Bagel shop
Macondo is a charming coffee shop located in Stonington, CT, known for its relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. The owner, Angelica Suarez Poveda, was drawn to the area's quality of life and sense of community. The shop offers a variety of delicious pastries, fresh bagels, exceptional coffee, and made-to-order smoothies in a cozy setting with indoor and outdoor seating options. Customers appreciate the balanced and smooth flavors of their espresso beverages as well as the friendly staff.
I love going to this coffee shop on the weekends. The interior just gives a very calm vibe and the coffee and pastries available are great. There's plenty of different types of seating if you're trying to do work (they have wifi), or sit down and catch up with friends in front of the fish tank. The staff are very nice to talk to and the service is at the perfect pace. Nothing bad to say about this place, can't wait to go again with some friends!

I’m a sucker for independent coffee shops, and this one did not disappoint. The latte, smoothie and sesame bagel we ordered were all very good (and the smoothie made with all fresh ingredients), and the ambiance was so welcoming. Our barista was friendly and helpful. We’ll be back!

Welcoming staff, clean and bright shop where you can sit and read or work on a laptop. I love that they offer several plant milk options , freshly baked bagels and vegan cream cheese! This is my go to coffee spot!

We stopped by this coffee shop during our trip to Mystic and we were not disappointed. I got a latte and it was very good. We both got bagels and were surprised how much we enjoy them. Being from NJ I have high standards for bagels and they did not disappoint. The pricing is reasonable. They have a large seating area so we ate in the cafe.
Kyra B — Google review
Macondo is a local favorite, I have been coming here for over 7 years. They have a single offering of coffee in espresso and drip - Devocion Toro or their decaf. They sell a variety of Devocion beans as well. You won't find pour over or seasonal beans being served here, but the coffee is very consistent. The milk temperature in hot drinks is always on point. The pastries and bagels are very high quality, as well as their smoothies. The cafe itself has decent seating, and great decor featuring plants and local art. Order online to save time.

Back in March, my wife and our guests for the weekend were treated poorly at MACONDO. It was the last straw for us after multiple negative experiences with one woman in particular who often seems inexplicably grumpy and annoyed with her customers (so much so that other members of the staff have apologized to us for her attitude). We had been regulars, visiting at least weekly by ourselves or with our son. Everyone else who works there is friendly. The coffee and bagels are amazing.

A nice local coffee shop. The ambiance is really nice, love the aquarium. The coffee was good and the price was reasonable.

The mocha latte was the best one I've had in a long time. For a small shop, they have a good selection of pastries and they make smoothies! The price was fair, the food and customer service were great. I definitely recommend this place if you like good coffee. Next time I'm in that area, I'll make it a point to stop in.
