The 20 best cake shops and cake bakeries in Lviv

I was wondering around the city of Lviv Ukraine, when I found a place with a short lineup at 1pm. So I got in line lol- to lineup in the rain meant something was special lol. It was an “everything chocolate” type of establishment. It has 5 floor and an upper terrace as well. There is a quick serve on the first floor and a small shop on the second and washrooms third (or fourth); the 5th floor was cafe with some seating. The menu is accessed via QR code at the table (English and Ukrainian. I ordered a Lviv hot chocolate, as well as something called Royal Chocolate - a small glass with a warm thick mix of dark and white chocolate with some nuts on top (see video!)! It was a chocolate lovers paradise! I went during a heavy rain - and there was a small lineup —so is very popular. When I went the terrace was closed due to rain.

The place is hugeee, even too huge There are 4 floors (but 2 of them are empty at the moment) On the first floor you got the shop itself, where you can "Grab & Go" chocolate. The only problem is that you can pay for each section at a seperate area in the store (There is a seperate area for the parlines and seperate are for the prepared packs) МИросЯ was really nice, pleasent and patient! 🥰 It could be a good thing if they had an elevator, or at least located the restaurant at the second floor (at the moment the second and third floor are empty- you just have a toilet in the third floor, resulting in the restaurant located at the 4 floor) Besides that, everything was perfect. Overall really good chocolates, nice customer service and great value for money

Too much to choose from.. I recommend getting the big tins to travel back with especially the round one is amazing! Your biggest problem is trying to not a whole box at once.. Although avoid the tin with the house on it as they don't taste so good.

Such a great place especially for chocolate lovers! There's literally too much to choose from. I would definitely recommend anyone to try the hot milk chocolate. It's really thick and super sweet and when they bring it to you they also bring a cup of water as it is not possible to drink it ( or more like eat it) without it. I'm not sure if it's everyday or on a particular day but at some point during the day they hold a sale of chocolate outside the store. They sell white chocolate, milk chocolate and dark chocolate bars for half price. It's a great present!

Must see spot in Lviv. Can be crowded at times, although upper gallery and summer terrace are rather cosy. Not too expensive (Cup of chocolate + cake around 3€). Waiters speak Ukrainian, Polish and English.

Tasty coffee, you can have a table upstairs, there is bright and beautiful. Nice shop with great selection, you can find chocolate without sugar

The first thing that catches your eye is the interesting interior and cozy atmosphere. The location is of course also great. The presentation of dishes is original, interesting. The main course, salmon, was a little overcooked in my opinion, but everything else was very tasty. There is a large selection, and the desserts even have their own history. When you walk to the restroom, you can also see the beautiful interior. You definitely want to come back here again.

I am English. I was born in London and my biggest pain is that everywhere I go to eat bakery food and desserts outdoors has a theme of never tasting anything like you expect. In London, everything always tastes more bland or dry than you would expect from looking at it. But here in Lviv, I have enjoyed the greatest looking cakes that have been combined with MATCHING flavour, texture and richness. These cakes taste EXACTLY how they should. Everything was IDEALNO

Situated in the historic building of town hall with amazing interior and huge amount of historic pictures and furniture. On the first day I ordered granola with fruits, omelette and few pieces of chicken roulette which was slightly salty, but ok. Zephyr on dessert- soft, fresh, tasty, not very sweet. On the third plate I had great combination of blueberry jam with fresh chicken paste on the crispy toast. Second time I had breakfast consisted from becon, crumble eggs on the piece of fresh white bread and fresh young sprouts of pea plant. Glass of proseco and teapot of fragrant carpathian tea nicely supplemented the meal. The price varied between 8 and 10 eur per person. All breakfast dishes were served on the special tray.

Amazing place with brilliant atmosphere and design . Cozy pleasant warm gently and peaceful . Each dessert that we took was on the edge of perfection :) freshly made and ideally served . Reserved a table ahead of time. When we came with my wife, there was no reserved table. Had to wait a long time to get seated, even though, the restaraunt had free tables. Just everyone ignored us. Service is poor. Food is good. But way to expensive for such service.

Used to be one of my favorite places in L’viv. Unfortunately this time I was very disappointed with deserts. We’ve ordered 3 different deserts and all 3 of them were not fresh (((

Sat on the patio and server was quick to approach us and ask if we were ready to order. The coffee was good but the reason to visit again is definitely for cake. There’s lots to choose from and the 2 cakes we ordered where delicious. The total was just under 300 uah for 2 coffees and 2 slices of cake. Great spot for a weekend treat.

You can loose your mind when you'll try these pies, cackes and schtrudels. It absolutely incredibly amazing!!!! Add to that experienced staff, no so crazy prices and you'll get the whole package in the Cukernia. You will never regret that stopped by. (Especially if you dried their Irish Coffee !!!)

Actually the coffee place is situated in a really good place. It is a cool place for summer days. Their breakfast seems really good. Their filter coffee is ok, but V-60 is delicious with an acidic flavour. Cakes are really good. They say to you that you have to wait, but actually we did not wait so long, it was ok. One of the nice places to have your breakfast and coffee.

Nice cafe right behind the church. Coffee tastes good. There are some cakes. Apricot and raisin cake is delicious. Self-service and smoking is allowed outside. Little bit overpriced.

Tried one of their desserts - the orange cake - which was served with ice cream and marmalade with a mocha coffee. The cake was quite delicious and the coffee was OK. The atmosphere was nice during the late morning and allowed for pleasant private conversation.

The most popular coffee place in Lviv I guess. You may order here all kinds and sorts of coffee and buy coffee in the shop next to cafe. The owner is very much into coffee and travels around the world to coffee growing plantations to see and observe the process himself. The atmosphere is very cosy and tranquil. Though visitors are there all the time.

Im stopping by every single time if I have an opportunity, the sweets are baked freshly,truly recommend all of the croissants and cinnamon buns. One tip for the service, could’ve be great if u could have a smile on face cause people can feel your contempt of the other person.😅

This confectionery has the best almond croissants in Lviv. They have a lot of desserts: macaroons, different cookies, cakes, homemade marshmallows but croissants are my favorite. After almond croissant you should try cream brûlée and then vanilla. I love their tea in big teapots (1 liter) there are berry tea, berry with mint, ginger and honey and a lot of others. My favorite is berry with mint. This place is must visit in Lviv. I love to sit here in summer when they have terrace. You can also take sweets to go. And if you like marshmallow try white one with raspberry jam inside.

Best desserts, delicious food and charming interior! Highly recommended for anyone, because their menu is so big that anyone can find something to be happy and full! Enjoy;)

I really like it it somehow it makes me come back each time i visit Lviv in order to drink coffee accompanied by their sweets and special croissants, I always take few away for Family in Kyiv. It doesn't have anything extraordinary and at the same time posseses this magnificent atmosphere which makes you desire to return all the time - something like a pleasant place where time stops while you enjoy your hot cup of coffee and delicious croissant.

Veronika was the one of our favorite spot in city. We really enjoyed our deserts. Especially apple strudel was amazing. Owner of place was very welcoming to us. Thank you for your best dishes and coffees. Note: While we were talking, the woman who was sitting nearby table yelled to us. They warned us because we are talking out loud. But we only laughed to something, we are really taking care about it. And after that circumstance, we heard that Ukraine people doesnt like to talk loudly.

Well how can I start? Firstly they have a vast variety of deserts and most of them are delicious. Crew is mostly nice. They try to help you but very few of them are fluent in English, still there is at least one person who speaks. Coffees are well brewed I guess and you have to try their liquors. Napoleon Cake is a perfect choice.

We tried the cafe upstairs and loved it! Wonderful cakes and good coffee. Nice service. This cafe is one of the old style ones with a nice atmosphere.

The employees are friendly and interested, you can speak English easily. You can find many products from Turkish Cuisine in the menu. I can say that its tea is better than many cafes in Turkey. The place is very comfortable and spacious. I would like to thank Erhan, the business manager, for his help and interest.

I noticed the cafe on street and entered because its warm atmosphere then I was surprised when i realized that its owners were Turkish.A pleasant place to spend time with family or groups of friends.

It’s very stylish and chic place, the interior is definitely worth visiting this place, but unfortunately good things about this place end with it. Coffee is really bad a very expensive. I visited around lunch time and these were very few desserts to choose from, not to mention that all were very ordinary. Sadly, I can’t recommend this place

Waited close to 2 hours for a croissant and salad.. Waitress continuously made empty promises that the food is ready. Going to McDonald's after this circus.

Ordered a cappucchino and a slice of cake, was charged 100.00 exactly over the regular price with a preprinted ticket and was on top 100.00 short changed. Had to involve the manager in order to have it sorted. Similar happened also in the Konditorei and another location. I do understand their desperate state but have no understanding being short changed. @ coffee would have been fantastic if the temperature would have been correct and the milk very hot as asked for. @Pastry is maybe awesome, just wasn't to my taste @ Great Location, very airy place.

Loved it here, literally the best macaroons I think I’ve ever had in my lifee!! So soft & chewy but at the same time crispy idk how to explain it even it was amazing:) the apple tart my friend had was okay not my cup of tea but I’ve come back for the macaroons 2 already so it’s good

this place could be special, if the service and pricing of cakes would be reasonable. Before accepting a (really good looking) cake, do ask its cost, so you are not shocked when receiving the bill later. I was charged €8,50 for a piece, and when asking for an explanation, as this was the highest I paid during 3 days, I got a rude answer; "we do not speak English here (which she in fact did), you are in Ukraine, You are the problem, just PAY!"... So my advice to the owner; only employ kind, respectful and English speaking servants, and charge reasonable prices for Lviv, otherwise your business will fail!

Lots of selection accompanied by lots of taste. Lviv is famous for its pastry, and this place is no exception: expect to find a very posh decoration, reminiscing 1850s France, and a wide selection of very good looking sweets. Its called a sweet pharmacy, and I sure felt healed after going to it !

If you're a tourist, avoid this place. All cakes descriptions are in Ukrainian. If you try to use Google Translator, they yell at you "no pictures". If you try to ask in English/Polish, you will hear: "This is Ukraine, we speak Ukrainian". Horrible service.

This place has good atmosphere , for that one star. We waited 15 minutes, than took the menu ourselves. Warned waiters where we sit and asked them to come. We waited again 20 minutes and there was no one to take our order. Really petty. They spend a lot of money for the interior but couldn't hire good staff 😫

Frankly speaking, I expected more. The prices are relatively high as for Ukraine, however the service isn't that good (at the same time, it seems to be a trend in many Lviv restaurants / cafés). The cake at the photo (pls, see attached) looks delicious, but the taste of the cream wasn't good. Cranberry tea was nice (served with honey) & the marmalade (fruit jelly) also tasted great.

This is unbelievable place! Food is gorgeous, I loved cake the waitress recommended. In addition I want to say that interior of the cafe is very elegant and cozy. Will definitely come back for more desserts and some mulled wine

The cafe is located in the free zone, the departure lounge of international flights. Here you will be offered hot dishes, sandwiches, salads and of course sweets for every taste. On the one hand, the prices here are unreasonably high, and the taste of dishes is mediocre. On the other hand, other airport cafes are even worse. So, despite the disadvantages, it remains the best place to spend time at waiting for boarding.

Abysmal service with ridiculous prices. Me and my husband popped in here whilst waiting for our flight. First thing I noticed was the startling amount of dirty plates left lying around on tables and no waitresses in sight. After walking upto the counter to order, I solved the mystery of the missing staff! They were all hiding behind the bar watching youtube videos on their phones. I sheepishly stood there for about 5 minutes, listening to them giggling before one sighed and decided to pay me any attention. Poor girl was visibly annoyed that I had disturbed her from her fun. Whilst she was preparing my salad, other customers were waiting. She had to call her collegues about three times to take their order. All of whom were ignoring her and continued watching videos. They could hear her perfectly well, I was standing right to them. I eventually recieved my salad, reheated pizza slices and bottles of cola (albeit unopened with no glasses). Food was ok and that's the only star I'm giving. Also to note, everything is self service; no where is this indictated anywhere. Unfortunely Lviv airport has a very limited number of restaurants, I would recommend you stay clear of this one. Unless of course you like shoddy service, overpriced food and miserable waitresses.

Croissants were tasty and coffee was really good. I ordered an Oreo Cream Latte and a Paprika Chicken croissant. On the other side, staff was unfriendly and couldn´t speak English. Waiting time was a bit long for such kind of food.

Delicious light, fluffly and crispy croissants. Plenty of good choices with my recommendations being Salmon croissant and the cheese croissant. Hot chocolate also yummy!

I didn't really like the food. The praised salad with burata did not have much taste. The waiter heard my I was thinking about ordering a dish, as an order and brought it. I felt sorry for him. I ate that camembert with figs. Also, baked Camembert is tastier in Baguette. The request for a glass of water had to be repeated. The terrace at the top is made a bit silly. But these are all trifles compared to the fact that I woke up in the middle of the night from nausea. Ну дякую!

Really nice restaurant! Have a variety of salads, meats, and pastas plus much more. Waiters very professional and friendly! Located in Lyviv and joins the Swiss Hotel.

I would really like to thank the staff for their kindness. The gentleman out side the door was cary helpful. He helped us getting our baby stroller all the way in. The rest of the staff were very helpful too. For the food I ordered the Arrabbiata pasta which sadly wasn’t like what I expected. Just spicy tomato bits and was not saucy at all. The veal salad was very delicious! I liked it. The mushroom soup was warm and flavorful! You can never go wrong ordering it! Finally and sadly I don’t have a pic for was the Quattro formaggio pizza which was tasty! I really recommend this nice restaurant if you ever visit Lviv!

Amazing service, our waitress was Maria and sommelier Vladislav did a great job, their employer should be proud of their employees. I would highly recommend Valentino as it is the best restaurant with a Terrace in town, with delicious food, great service and a spectacular view!

Everything is very clean and fancy. Staff is very pleasant. Food is good and a bit overpriced. They have a terrace on the 7-th floor opened in warm period of the year.

Historical Cafe which has it's existence for almost 200 years. Has been moved once from it's original location. Walnut cake is to die for and the coffee is great. Has an old school look and the present owner is been running this for the last 15 years now. Love the ambiance and music. Old school artifacts and photographs on the walls. Warm and welcome staff. It's a must visit when you visit Lviv.

It is a small cute shop which is decorated with old photos and wooden tables with wooden chairs. They have variety of desert choices. I really recommend the cake with the blueberries and raspberries, it was very delicious. İf you like the liquor taste and chocolate, the chocolate cake is for you. The mochas very also delicious, especially the whipped cream on top. They have a lot of different tea options which is cool. The only problem was nobody can speak English and we had hard time communicating.

Great vintage coffee shop a bit off the city center. I had double americano and loved it! The atmosphere is like you've suddenly appeared in the 19th century. A perfect quiet spot for reading and enjoying a cup of coffee. Highly recommend!

Nice quiet place for warm conversation. They have live music concerts every Saturday at 7 p.m. if I am not mistaken. Various coffee and tea beverages, delicious cakes.

If you come here only for cheesecakes, they are amazing here, wide variety of breakfasts as well, atmosphere is cost in the center of Lviv, you can enjoy view to Rynok Square from there, try cheesecake with currant and lemon one. I just didn’t like the service much, they can bring coffee then cheesecake after 10 min, try to get the waiter the guy in glasses, he’s very good. And to get in is a bit complicated coz intercom (you have to press 1) doesn’t work sometimes

The cakes and everything look so wonderful The service was very fast, and the manager packed me everything that I wanted as a take away very fast The staff were also clean and friendly The cookies taste nice, but the marshmallow one (the non-macaroon) was okay, but less good than the macaroon. I have not tried the cheese cake but they looked so good and I would definitely come back to taste a slice

This is a true GEM for cheesecake fans. Some unique interior ideas and concepts were incorporated here. We've been here twice and didn't get disappointed! You will find infused water on your table(very rare for Ukraine). Delicious meals, amazing cheesecakes, cozy atmosphere and knowledgeable staff. If you love coffee, cocoa, tea or kombucha - that's the place! Also, you can enjoy the outstanding downtown views and chill on the soft bench near the window. Would visit it again and definitely recommending!

We went there only because my friend said they have the tastiest croissants in Lviv. We waited for someone to take our order for half an hour, and then it turned out all the pastries had sold out 10 minutes earlier 🤦🏻‍♀️ We left the place without anything. The service is just terrible. Maybe they really do have tasty croissants, but I guess we’ll never know.

Truly, one of the best cafes I've visited. Great view, amazing brunch options, and possibly the best cheesecakes not just in Lviv, but in the Ukraine. Highly recommend to try the Raspberry-Parmesan cheesecake, as well as the avocado and edamame toast (order extra salmon - it's just too good). Great atmosphere and amazing food altogether.

I loved the ambiance and design the most. If you're sitting at the window-table you'll definitely enjoy the most gorgeous view of Market Square. Regarding the food and drinks. The tea that we ordered was just average. We tried Raspberry Parmesan cheesecake, the taste is interesting, worth trying, but if you're trying to stay fit one piece for 2 is enough and the prices are above average. 😁 during current situation with Covid-19 the way the Q is handled should be better since there's a lot of people waiting at the entrance without any social distancing. Overall, nice place to try.

Exceptionally good pastry, good coffee, good ice cream, though of somewhat limited selection. The place is rather small: only six tightly put tables. The air conditioning works reasonably well which is not common in Lviv. And finally, I was told by a local that the place is considered fairly expensive by local standards.

If you want to taste cake with fungus - this is place for you! :(

A nice cosy place with tasty cakes. The sweets are as good as in downtown but at lower prices. My personal opinion on coffee at this place is that they could have had a better one. Other than that, if you happen to be around I highly recommemd visiting here.

Breakfast or brunch heaven, with amazing decor, proprietary fruit beverages, a house deli, confectionery, and bakery all rolled into one stop. Very elegant establishment with lots of family and city history as well. Food?...just as good as everything there looks. Best with 4 people to order 4 different items and share the experience.

I ordered a 100g slice of cake for 75, I was very clear when I ordered that I wanted only one piece, but I was given a 200g slice so when it came to pay I was charged more than double the price at 168. The cashier was very hostile and rude to me, really not a good way to treat customers! The cake was fine and the interior is beautiful but at that price it really wasn't worth it, there are lots of places just as nice in Lviv that don't cheat customers!

It didn’t meet our expectations. We booked a comfort room, which was indeed spacious, but quite dark and stuffy. Somehow we were given the room under the roof with a tilted ceiling, where you can hit your head when you go to bed and very small windows with the view at another window - that was a big disappointment. The decor of the room was also nothing like in the photos on booking or their website. The bathroom is big and has enough light, but the toiletries are very cheap and no hair conditioner was provided. There is an elevator in the hotel but it doesn’t go to all the floors or rooms. The staircases are quite old and the steps are narrow, mind it if you have any trouble walking. On the checkout we weren’t even asked if we liked our stay. On the positive side, the location of the hotel is good, bed is quite comfortable (the pillows are a bit outdated and the blanket is rather small for the bed, though) and we were given an iron on request. I will not choose this hotel for my next stay in Lviv.

Lovely Hotel near the Center. @ Standard Room with a view in the next building, rather dark no sunlight. Very good mattress, very spacey bathroom with an old fashioned great bathtub. Very Clean @ Be aware if the hotel calls you a taxi the fare will be very costly as they receive a hefty kick back. Paid 500 for a hotel called taxi and retour 125.00. I stayed here recently and was absolutely blown away by the incredible customer service. Nothing was a hassle and the reception staff were brilliant. So much so I'd absolutely love to have them visit my own country so I can repay the level of hospitality shown. The rooms were modern and had exceptional climate control along with been serviced by again outstanding house keeping staff. The upstairs restaurant and down stairs breakfast again were fantastic and very well valued. The proximity to the CBD was really handy and you can get what ever you need with ease be that some souvenirs or maybe pharmaceuticals. A special mention to Andriy who really went above and beyond with his customer service and assistance with some logistic issues I had. An exceptional host for his country and I will be referring my friends every time to stay at the Swiss Hotel.

I had 2 stays in this hotel and both were just amazing. It's really great hotel with very friendly staff and vintage atmosphere. Place for breakfast (serving zone) a bit small but still cute. Nice terrace during summer time. Near 5-6m walking distance to center but in same time it's in quiet enough place to avoid street noise. In winter decorations inside just amazing so can highly recommend stay here in any season

The staff are absolutely LOVELY, my room (a standard room) a sumptuous heaven of comfort, and the food! EXQUISITE! I simply cannot wait to return. Turned up late at the last minute after intending to drive to Kiev today. We were promptly offered a lovely spacious room at very reasonable price and shown to private gated parking right next to the hotel. Unfortunately we'd already eaten earlier so couldn't have a full meal but ordered a soup from the restaurant which was delicious! The rest of the menu looked fantastic shame we didn't try it this time. Very friendly staff.
