Outstanding Stay with Incredible Game Drives Our time at Rino Ridge Safari Lodge was unforgettable! The game drives were absolutely amazing, offering breathtaking sightings and unforgettable moments in nature. A special mention goes to our guide, who was truly world-class – knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate, making every drive an exciting and memorable experience. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay and will cherish these memories for a long time!

Nothing was too much trouble for the team at Rhino Ridge. Located within Huhluwe Narional Park our package included game drives morning and evening with experienced ranger and driver Ellie. How fantastic to spend time with such a wonderful and inspirational lady who's been guiding in rhe park since 2014. The collaboration with the Isibindi Foundation means that most the staff come from local villages as a partnership...and it shows. Everyone was super friendly and most obliging. We cpukdnt have chosen a better place to have a family reunion.

Wow wow wow!!!! We had the most amazing time here in October of 2025 with our children and their partners. It was far more than we expected. The service, staff, food, sightings, room etc!! Absolutely amazing service and a lot of small extra things that they do just to go the extra mile!!! We felt so well looked after!!!! Liberty was our driver and what a lovely knowledgeable young man he is!!! This place was absolutely fantastic and would suggest this to anyone to visit for a real treat!! Wish we had more time to stay longer! I would suggest three nights if you can, we stayed for two. Enjoy!!!
Leanne N — Google review
A wonderful experience, magnificent views, very friendly guides. My only comment: the staff make an effort on the first day, but after that the service isn't really up to scratch: rooms not prepared, orders forgotten, long waits.
User 1 — Google review
It was perfect! We had a great time and were sad when it came to leaving. Every game drive was a highlight itself, also because the very experienced rangers who shared a lot but probably far not everything of their incredible knowledge about the flora and fauna within the park with us. The staff within the lodge was very qualified and nice as well.

Beautiful lodge with really friendly staff and incredible delicious food. We had some of the most delicious vegan meals of our whole vacation there. Being vegan was no problem at all. We would totally come back.

The location and views are breathtaking. Nice swimmingpool with View and also a small Gym. The room was not to great and some repairse are needed. The staff is trying their best but still room to improve to get communiation spotless. E.g. getting different information about the Game Walk for Times and children ages to participate.

Hilltop Camp Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife is a luxurious accommodation located in the Hluhluwe iMfolozi Park, offering self-catering chalets and rondavels with scenic vistas of Zululand's rolling hills. The camp provides access to self-drive game viewing routes and picnic areas like Maphumulo for great wildlife viewing opportunities.
Very friendly and helpful staff. The lady taking us for a game drive was very knowledgeable. Restaurant had a simple menu but everything was delicious. Chalet was neat, clean and functional. Loved our stay and will go back again.
Marc S — Google review
I did not stay at the lodge to comment on the rooms & service, but the restaurant was a beautiful stop on our day tour through the park. The staff were extremely friendly and the view from the terrace stunning. Delicious cocktails and snacks before we continued our journey. Plenty of wild life in around the camp, fuel available and clean restrooms (you'll probably need both 😉)
Chantelle W — Google review
We booked a self catering type of accommodation. The rooms were clean and fresh .The service was professional and prompt. Location is good however the condition of the road starting from the entrance gate right to the resort is not in good condition, it needs some attention. I hope that next time I come visit I will be writing a different-positive review about the road.
Nompumelelo B — Google review
What an amazing dining experience at the restaurant! The vegan meal (vegan steak with pepper sauce and chips) was the most delicious and creative I’ve had in ages. Chef TJ’s innovation shines through, definitely worth a visit and highly recommend.
Leonard J — Google review
Very very disappointed. The location is stunning. Staff are friendly. No thought for guests as the staff make A LOT of noise. My pregnant wife had workers outside her chalet for 2 days making a lot of noise and using the chalets furniture for themselves. We then tried the restaurant and what a shock. The staff had a big soccer game they were watching which made for a lot of noise. It took 25 for our drinks to come as the waiters were joining in the game themselves. Very surprising how a lodges staff can have so little regard for the ' experience' that the guest has paid for in a park. Needs big changes.
Tristan P — Google review
We had the Sunday Brunch offer. Food was good and the Service friendly and quick. You can enjoy a fantastic view while eating there. In Addition there is also a Bar and a supermarket/Souvenir Shop available. Free Toilets Are available

Can you give 10 stars? This was an amazing experience with friendly staff, superb tours and a great accommodation. I am definitely returning to Hilltop Camp to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature.
Gerrit V — Google review
We were a bit underwhelmed with the camp when compared to Kruger camps, but the reception looked clean and inviting. The day visitors picnic area was overgrown and had a limited view. To us it felt like everything was geared towards foreign visitors.

Very good place to stay to do activities around in an authentic area, comfortable, very good home-made food, and great conversations with Tracy who can give a good view of the real life in South Africa from her own life and experience. Definitively recommended.

Great atmosphere, great vibe. I felt very welcomed. Host is very hospitable, doggies are cute ( even tho I’m afraid of them). A lot trees and flowers (my ma loves nature). All in all ten out of ten 👏🏾👏🏾

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Fever Tree Guesthouse; from the moment you enter Reception till the time you check-out, their service and hospitality is superb, staff are friendly and helpful at all times; my room was spacious, comfortable, beautifully decorated and had everything I could need during my stay! Breakfast is included in their rates and is delicious! The guesthouse offers a peaceful atmosphere and you feel right at home! Highly recommended and good value for money!

A perfect garden setting. Amazing birdlife. Excellent accommodation, spacious, clean and well equipped Phenomenal breakfast. What awesome hosts, Tracey, Alec, and Viv, for going the extra mile to making us feel welcome. We hiighly recommend this venue. Thanks Mark and Lyn
Lyn E — Google review
The surrounding town is not great but the manager at Fever Tree tries very hard to rectify that. The rooms are all made for at least 2 people and have DSTV. There is also a small swimming pool which is great to sit in and cool down with a drink but it's too small to swim. Dinner and breakfast wasn't great but was pretty much the best the manager could do with the not so great surrounding shops.
Gillon D — Google review
Such a beautiful B&B and Tracey the owner was a splendid host. Breakfast was some of the finest I've ever had. Home cooked with care. Located near the game reserves surrounding Hluhluwe The Fever Tree Guesthouse was situated perfectly in the middle of it all.

Bed & breakfast lodge in central business district. Neat rooms. Friendly helpful staff. Standard English breakfast. Helpful with special vegetarian meals. Pool was out of order. Pool table not able to play. Defective .
Anesh L — Google review
I had a worse experience of my life in this guesthouse. From an owner who has no respect for customers to an owner who prepares food while surrounded by about 10 cats. And its doesn't end there, she pick them while she is busy on the side preparing a meal for you. Now you are eating they are staring at you. Who said we all like Pat's? These hairy Pat's are dangerous for anyone's health. Or maybe because I was black because she told me to go to the hotel if I have a problem with her rules! There's a lot but I will end there for now. Worse 2 days of my life. That place is not recommended in my books 👎

Good nice and clean and good service, however water takes forever to come out from taps, having a microwave in the room will also be great.

Experience the Bush while living in luxury!! We stayed in the Green Monkey Orange lodge - super nice. I can definitely recommend it!
Erika H — Google review
Wish I could give it 6 stars as it is just such an amazing place to go. What an experience. You stay in the game park and you feel so cut off from everything! What a way to get away! You can swim in your own little pool and take lovely meanders round the game park and then take in birds and antelope that live in the park. If you want to get away and reconnect with your partner, yourself or nature then there is no better place!
Michael W — Google review
We spent three nights in the Yellow wood lodge and had an absolutely wonderful time. The room was well equipped, clean and comfortable. The daily service was efficient and non-intrusive. After a day of exploring the surrounding areas we got back and were able to unwind and relax. We sometimes spent our mornings just sitting in bed with the stack doors open and listened to the sounds of nature. The plunge pool was a welcome relief for the heat of the season. The lodge is also situated in a game reserve which is home to an assortment of wildlife. Overall a fantastic stay! Our bodies and minds are well rested and renewed. A perfect getaway to disconnect from the world. Our thanks to the staff and management.
Brendan S — Google review
We stayed for 6 days at this wonderful place. We have booked the Marula house which is built in a very classical style: wooden floor, big windows, natural materials. We loved it! Such a quite place, perfect to relax. And included in our package was the (nearly private) Chef who cooked breakfast and delicious dinner for us. How nice! In general the whole staff has been extremely friendly and helpful and made our stay very pleasant. Thanks for this! So why did I rate with 4 stars only? Well, the cleaning of the house and the whole property including the pool needs improvement. It's such a classy property so you expect more. But to be fair: the price of our stay was very reasonable compared to other more sophisticated lodges. And as I said: we enjoyed every minute of our stay!
Georg J — Google review
Beware of false advertising... Located within the Kuleni Game Reserve, we stayed in one of the boutique rooms and although the room itself is very nice, there are quite a few issues with this place. First, it is absolutely inaccurate to call this place a lodge, let alone a luxury lodge. There is no reception or staff on site. To check in, we had to go through game reserve security and then they gave us a number to call. There is no cell service here so we were unable to call. Security got a hold of someone for us, who met us 20 minutes later (came from off site). The boutique rooms are actually freestanding structures located deeper in the forest, about a 5 minute walk away from the parking spots on a small unlit path right in the forest. They have small lampposts along the path but they were unlit the entire time we were there despite us asking that they be lit. Because of this, we just chose to forgo going out for dinner since it seemed like a pretty sketchy walk back to our car in the dark. We were given no information upon check-in, if you can even call it that. There is a phone number for the host if you have questions or in case of emergency, yet there is minimal cell service. We got service for brief seconds at a time and called the number, but no one answered the phone. They also say to WhatsApp them but again no one answers those messages. If there is an emergency here, good luck to you. There is also no wifi in the rooms, nor AC. Considering there is no cell service, there absolutely needs to be wifi offered. Re: AC, it was 39C the day we stayed here and I think that is not unusual for them. Also, there is no proper restaurant on site and although they advertise that there is a backup generator, they only turn it on if there is no power all day, and even then, only for 2 hours. The boutiques would be appealing to some if you're looking for privacy in the sandforest, but not appealing to all. Best to know what you're getting into.
Nadia K — Google review
My new long weekend away spot. It was pristine, the staff were extraordinary, the self guided walks were the most relaxing and exciting part of the whole stay. And if you enjoy birding, this place is paradise. Private and secluded rooms, lovely cool splash pool. Crisp clean linen. I dont want to make it sound as good as it was, because I dont want it booked up when I want to go back;)
DAVID S — Google review
We had a lovely stay at Bushwillow collections. The accommodation was in great condition, the little pool much needed in the heat and being surrounded by the bush and wildlife was good for the soul. De Wet and Dane were great hosts, quick to answer any questions and always keen to engage and accommodate us. I highly recommend it and will be going back there.

Lodge
Nestled in the serene uKuwela Wildlife Conservancy, Zululand Lodge offers a unique escape with its cozy tented accommodations. This privately owned camp features nine spacious safari tents that provide comfort and stunning views of the surrounding bushveld. Guests can unwind in a rustic restaurant or an open-air lounge, while a well-stocked library invites relaxation. The attentive staff ensures a warm welcome, enhancing the lodge's inviting atmosphere.
We spent a lovely 3 nights at Zululand lodge. We are a family of five with children between the ages of 9 and 14. The kids loved the tented accommodation and slept really well listening to the beautiful sounds of the night. As did we. It is quiet and peaceful and will draw you back to yourself and the essence of the African bush. The communal areas are tastefully decorated, comfortable and great to hang out in when waiting for supper. Nice selection of books. We loved the communal dining at one long table (although I believe you can request a more private dinner in the boma if you prefer). We were taken on lovely walks through the area and managed to spot giraffe, nyala, hippos, zebra and amazing birds!! The highlight for us was a trip down the river on their boat with drinks supplied either on the boat or on the banks after we returned. Again, the peacefulness was sublime. Food is simple South African fare. (If you are expecting gourmet you will be disappointed). But it is made with love and we certainly never went hungry. Well done guys. Super place.
Nadia — Google review
The lodge is not clearly sign posted. The tent had a hole in it, the carpet was wet, the tent leaked when it rained, the one light bulb did not work. No flat sheet - I asked the Mgr for one he said he would provide - he did not - I then asked a staff member and she advised they had no flat sheets. When booking we were asked if there were any diatery requirements which we advised the booking site of, when we got to the lodge they had not received the information. The chef was very friendly but had no clue regarding a vegan diet. He advised he had had no formal training, I strongly recommend he gets some formal training. The manager Martin was very pleasant but completely ineffective- he said the owner, Bruce was aware of all the points raised but had not done anything. He was not able/willing to accept any responsibility for what was not in order but just said he would speak to Bruce, who he advised is a difficult man........I for one will not be back.

Beautiful bush stay. Saw hippos on the bush walk. The pool is beautiful, staff super friendly, tents are fantastic. After a walk and breakfast we just relaxed in to comfort of the tent with the bush around us and a book. The only problem was that we only had two days, should have been a week

Thanks for the great weekend Zululand Lodge team. Rooms are very comfy, lots of amazing communal areas to read and relax. The new pool is great for summer ! Awesome to hear the sounds of the bush at night ( Could hear a leopard walking around at night ) Great weekend away.

We spent 2 lovely nights at this lodge. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and plentiful with lots of lovely vegetables and salads. The home made scones and bread were absolutely devine! The accommodation was very comfortable. The beds comfortable and the shower nice and hot. The tents were very spacious, very clean and it was lovely waking up with a beautiful view over the bushveld through the tent door, listening to the hippos honk. We had a lovely walk through the fever trees and along the river banks. The highlight for me was chatting around the open fire sharing stories. Highly recommended!

Had a wonderful night in a well appointed tent. Everything is thought of and I enjoyed their new pool. We had a lovely walk with Pume. The views from the bar lounge with the setting sun were magnificent. The only downside was leaving,

One of my favourite places I've stayed at. You can't beat waking up in the bush listening to the birds and seeing nature on every side, while still having lots of privacy and being super comfortable. All of the shared areas are so beautiful (try to head up to the lookout for sunset!) and the food is brilliant. Thank you, I'm hoping I can come back sometime soon!

We got to spend a weekend at Zululand Lodge with friends and family. From the moment you arrive you feel at home as the lodge has that relaxed feeling. The staff who are very friendly and professional also contribute to this. The accommodation is in tents which are very comfy and spaced perfectly from each other. The main living area has been designed with a lot of attention to décor which makes it a great place for meals looking out on the Zululand bush. There is also a great upstairs viewing deck where you can have sundowners and spend hours looking out over the vast bushveld. If you enjoy getting closer to nature then I can highly recommend this lodge. It would also recommend doing a bushwalk, the views along the river are spectacular.

This gem has such a magical quality. You can shop here or just enjoy the culture. They are ready to answer all your questions and put up a lovely song and dance show which depicts the culture so beautifully. In addition there is a hut which is used to depict the medicines used. A great place to be around for peace of mind and experiencing the beauty of African cultures. So clean and neat. The stuff were fantastic, unfortunately the storms caused so much damages to the water pump, and Eskom took forever (More than 4 days) to fix the problem, but we were offered an alternative (Bushland) without any cost. That alone showed us what kind of people we were dealing with .. they are superb and excellent.

Don't use Google maps to get there! Very nice charming place managed by 2 fantastic ladies and their team. The lodge is old but that makes it special and attractive. Very good for walking, nice scenery and animal encounters.

Historical & Cultural place, lovely, great for relaxing. Situated in an adventurous place where as you walk to the bar, you will see crocodiles and you will also have a snake tour. The bar is tops, upmarket, beautiful and the staff here is amazing and very helpful. You will also get an experience of the Zulu culture here and watch INGOMA (ZULU DANCE). I also had an opportunity to drink African beer our pride (umqombothi) You wont regret your stay here or your visit. There are also real African huts here and this place will really take you to a real African and English moment....

I have been here two times, and the first one was better then the second one. You get to learn different things about the Zulu culture and it is very interesting. If you have visited Shakaland before-hand, the dance show might seem a bit ad-hoc and not as coordinated as you might experience it at Shakaland. But overall a good experience.
Ingunn W — Google review
The place is not in a good location. Network coverage is bad. No wi-fi, no TV in the rooms, the furniture is very old and not so good looking. 😕 I was honestly not impressed, to say the least.

The accommodations are comfortable and well-equipped, complemented by exceptional staff who provide delicious meals, including a diverse vegetarian menu.
Comfortable, clean and well equipped rooms. The staff is phenomenal. Meals were delicious including a varied vegetarian menu. We thoroughly enjoyed the lodge game drive, being provided with interesting facts about the animals and local customs by Sifiso. A private game drive was organised into Hluhluwe Game Reserve which is less than half an hour from the accommodation. A substantial packed breakfast was provided for the drive including hot and cold drinks, sandwiches, fruit and snacks. Our car was washed shortly before our departure. I highly recommend Duiker Game Lodge and will certainly return for another stay.

I booked two nights at Duiker Game Lodge for the start of my best friends honeymoon and we could not have asked for a better start to the trip. The friendliest staff, large comfortable bedrooms, tasty food and a relaxing setting nestled within the reserve. We were welcomed each morning by baby warthogs, Nyala and even a giraffe outside our rooms! The true star of the whole experience was Sfundo our guide, he was so incredibly knowledgeable, funny and made every drive personal to our interests. Whilst you may not see big lions and elephants, our game drives here were some of our favourite of our whole trip and it is also a perfect location to explore the larger Hluhluwe reserve. Highly recommend!!

It was nestled just perfectly in the bush. Not too far from the N2 so all your Hluhluwe activities are a 30min drive away. Rooms aways smelled fresh. Kitchen communicated and amended menu to my preferences ( where possible). Meal portions are excellent! (Khululeka uzosutha). Breakfast was was simple and filling- quite lovely. The lodge helped me plan my external game drive- which was lovely( I was paired with an amazing guide: William). The pool is enjoyable for kids and adults. Duiker Game Lodge made my first experience of Hluhluwe enjoyable. If possible, do visit it!

We stayed just one night but had the best experience! The Game Drive was really informative and our guide was perfect. Also the dinner was really good. Since we left early in the morning, they prepared a doggybag for our breakfast to take with us - thanks for the great service!

Duiker Game Lodge is a low key hidden gem in the middle of Kwazulu-Natal. You can go on morning and afternoon drives at this lodge, where you will see Giraffes Impalas and various other animals. But the lovely manager will also be able to arrange exceptional drives for you at other game reserves. The lodge itself is very well managed. Rooms are well equipped and very clean. Meals were excellent. Thank you for making our stay so special!!

We fell in love with this place. It is absolutely magical. You are having dinner on a terrace with romantic fairy lights and the view over the bush with all the beautiful animals. During our swim in the pool we saw Pumba and her 3 cubs - unforgettable! Sibu was an amazing game driver, he knew everything about the animals and was so funny and charming. We had the best time at Duiker - leaving this paradise was hard!

The lodge booked 9 people yet whenever we talk we receive complaints apparently from 800meters, we not even allowed to laugh because we get warnings. Why did they even allow to book 9 people knowing that talking and laughing is not permitted. I wont recommend any group of people to come here. Even the guy at the gate is rude he could not answer our questions when we asked, instead he got so agitated. I regret coming here!!

What a wonderful place to stay!! With gorgeous views, lovely staff and beautiful animals, what more could you ask for? The staff were incredibly warm, accommodating and friendly. We felt so welcomed from the get go. The food is absolutely to die for. A daily game drive is included in your stay and we had the luxury of stopping at the top of the mountain to have some snacks with a magnificent view. You cannot go wrong booking your next getaway here! It's great value for money and an all around memorable experience!

Nestled in a stunning natural setting, Aloe View Rock Lodge offers an unforgettable escape for travelers seeking both adventure and relaxation. Located just 15 kilometers south of Hluhluwe, this rustic lodge provides comfortable accommodations that blend seamlessly with the surrounding landscape. Guests can enjoy delightful meals while soaking in breathtaking views of the low-lying areas teeming with wildlife like impalas and baboons.
Excellent place to be! Beautiful room and bathroom. Very friendly and personal owners. Play some pool, take a swim or have nice walk to a breathtaking view and try to see some wildlife (impala's, baboons, tracing animal prints etc). Breakfast and dinner are very good. Have a great time at the bar/lookout over the ranch. Take your time getting there, the rock lodge is accessed via a rocky road, but no need for a 4x4 ;)

We (Tinus, Ralph, Marty, Randy, and Matt) loved our stay at the Aloe View Rock Lodge! Such a beautiful setting and great hospitality! The food and accommodations were lovely. We also loved getting to know Bernerd, Irwin, and Odette! Blessings!

Great service, great farm/game experience. Beautiful views of the low lying flat area. Comfortable rooms. Well secluded. The access to the place is not very good, so a car might battle.

The most beautiful place I've ever stayed at. Very peaceful and quiet. The pool table and the pool itself provided hours of entertainment and fun. The surrounding area was beautiful. The bedrooms were very well furnished and cleaned. I would highly recommend this lodge to anyone form locals to foreigners looking to have a time of rest and relaxation and those looking to make amazing memories. This was truly a home away from home.

Beautiful, beautiful lodge (felt like I was liking an episode if Top Billing) in a quiet and secluded location... Bok and Phumba's came visiting but on our short stay we missed the giraffes - next time. Cater for everything from salt and pepper to charcoal (you can buy wood from the gate lodge) so that you don't need to leave to shop for the little things.

Absolutely beautiful.....a weekend to remember! The kids had hours of entertainment with the swimming pool and pool table. We also had day visitor's...Phumba and kids, Zebra's and Nyala's. Loved the peacefulness and serenity of the entire location. I would definitely love to spend another weekend here!

Great location but the place needs serious work, half the amenities don’t function! Big promises and doesn’t deliver! It’s trying to be 5 star and it just isn’t! Avoid this! Rather stay at any other lodge on Kuleni

An absolute haven of peace and tranquility, with fabulous accommodation (spacious, comfortable, tastefully furnished. fully equipped kitchen), a very lovely and efficient housekeeper when needed, super-fast wifi and all the amenities you need. Close to False Bay, Hluhluwe-Imfolosi park, St Lucia and tons of things to do on day trips. We had a fantastic week here and could easily have stayed longer.

We had booked accomodations for 6 adults . We were given the Bush house which sleeps 4 and the Bush Cabin which sleeps 2. The Bush House was superb. However the Cabin was awful. The basic, rustic amenities were totally shocking. The bed gave us the experience of sleeping on a concrete slab. The bathroom facilities were deplorable with no cold water in the basin . As much as we enjoyed being away from the bustle of city life, but not having a good sleep really dampened our spirits as we paid premium price for accommodation that was totally disappointing. We however really enjoyed the location . The Bush Cabin should not be let out until it is refurbished

My wife used to be a travel agent and we have travelled far and wide and we can honestly both say that our Stay at Imani Silver Sky Chalet was outstanding and value for money. From the moment we booked and our interaction with Kennedy we were very impressed. The accommodation is comfortable with all the necessary attention to detail within the cottage. The walks in the reserve were awesome and we got up close with some Nyalas, Zebras, A Giraffe and even a Black Necked Cobra. On Sunday morning at 2am we heard “pitter patter” on the roof and when outside to investigate, only to be welcomed by two very cute bushbabies or were more than happy to share a banana with us. Between the splash pool and the Aircon the stifling heat was driven away and after our photos were uploaded to Facebook, many friends and family members have indicated that they two want to experience the “Imani Adventure” Well done and 5 stars !!!
