The 50 best cheap eats in Merseyside

I have never been to an establishment where all of the waiting staff were impersonal, borderline rude. The waitress could not be bothered (being polite) to divide the bill to our request. The presentation and the portion size of the food we were all served was of low standard with zero presentation. The toilets stunk of heavy urine like one would smell on a dual carriageway lay by. This establishment is definitely not value for money or service. There is also 7.5% automatic service charge! There are plenty more establishment's nearby whom would appreciate your custom. Would not recommend.

When here for the first time, lady at the front was friendly and helpful, after that a young Asian lady took over, and it went downhill from there. Her voice was barely audible. She did not add jam as a side to the order for toast nor butter, nor did she convey that different bread was available but costed more, or soya also costed more, either way when we sought clarification for the bread from another server, the manager turned up at our table, his attitude was quite belligerent as was his stance. He didn't even resolve the situation as he forgot to add the order,which actually favoured us. The jam should not have been an issue but naturally Leaf made it one. The food was good, so the sourdough toast and jam was excellent, as was the taste of the scrambled egg on granary bread, albeit the egg was cold. The flatwhite was good equally. The bill already had a service charge added, to which we asked for this to be removed as the level of service provided did not merit this charge. Even though the food was good I would not dine here again, sadly the worst service I have encountered for a long time, with a turnip of a manager not dealing with a situation in a calm manner. Staff not trained properly.

Visited here for the first time whilst visiting Liverpool. The staff were very polite, food was tasty and we didn't have to wait long. Good atmosphere and the restaurant was clean and tidy. Would highly recommend

I was really excited to try Leaf. I’d heard great things and the place definitely looks lovely inside, with a nice vibe and a cool, laid-back atmosphere. We were a party of four, and after a bit of a wait (understandable since it was busy), we finally got to order. Two of us got exactly what we asked for, but I had ordered the falafel on sourdough and was instead brought a falafel flatbread. When I pointed it out, the waiter took the plate away, only to return a couple of minutes later insisting that it was what I ordered and that the flatbread was actually sourdough. She even said I could have an extra slice of sourdough on the side if I wanted. I had to explain (very politely!) that this didn’t make sense at all, especially since I could literally see that it was the exact same flatbread my friend had ordered—but with falafel instead of chicken. Turns out, they’d merged mine and my friend’s orders into one dish somehow. Meanwhile, my friend who had ordered the chicken flatbread was still waiting, and it took another 20 minutes for hers to arrive. By the time she got her food, the rest of us had already finished eating, so what was meant to be a quick lunch turned into a 2+ hour ordeal. To be fair, the food was tasty and they did take one dish off the bill, which we appreciated. But the whole experience was a bit disappointing—especially being told with a straight face that the most flatbread-looking flatbread was actually sourdough (lol). Overall, nice spot and good food, but probably best to avoid during peak busy times unless you’re happy to take your time (a lot of it).

Booked in here for first date day meal following the birth of our son, having done the same after our daughter was born a few years back. Apart from the wait to be seated when there were a large number of empty tables ready to be used the service was good. Once seated drinks and food orders taken quickly. Coffees arrived very quickly and food shortly after. Neither disappoint and make up for the wait at the start. One salt and pepper chicken burger and one steak baguette went down a treat. Would recommend. Repeat customer and will be returning again!

We had a wonderful meal at Free State Kitchen with family, sharing several dishes to try a bit of everything—and it did not disappoint! The chicken wings were a definite favorite, packed with flavor. We also really enjoyed the hearty vegetable chowder, chili fries, nachos, and Caesar salad—everything was fresh, tasty, and perfect for sharing. The atmosphere inside was warm and welcoming, but the real highlight was the beautiful garden—such a lovely spot to relax and enjoy good food with loved ones. Friendly service and a laid-back vibe made the experience even better. Definitely a great place for a casual meal with quality dishes and a cozy setting

This is the best casual dining restaurant in Liverpool by a mile. Incredible burgers, service and atmosphere. The iconic chicken wings are the best I’ve ever eaten. Been visiting for many years and now regularly visit with our young daughter who absolutely loves it too. The staff are brilliant with her and overall are so friendly. Keep up the great work FSK!

I've been meaning to try here for a while 👍 Called in one Saturday afternoon, was able to get a nice seat at a Bench Table in the Garden area 🙂 The Garden area is really spacious and has lots of flowers and shrubbery making it a really chilled place 😎 Service is really quick and friendly 👍 Food was great 👍 the Burgers are delicious, and so are their Onion Rings which are 'proper' Onion Rings (real slices of Onion in gorgeous Batter) 🤩. They also serve Draught Guinness 🙂 Prices are pretty reasonable for the quality. A great place to eat, go visit, you won't be disappointed 👍

Absolutely incredible place! Couldn’t fault it, staff are so friendly, food was incredible and the Sarti spritz was 10/10 (Even get a free one at the moment with the purchase of an aperol or lemonchello spritz) Plenty of Gluten free, vegan, veggie and dairy free options! We loved our lunch at Free State Kitchen! We wandered in on spec, and were seated quickly, and given the lunch menu. The chowder was excellent, and the sourdough was very tasty. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and we left very happy. A lovely little restaurant with a really nice vibe - a hidden gem.

We visited Liverpool for a day trip from Manchester, and for dinner we booked a table at Free State Kitchen — and we’re so glad we did! One of the reasons we chose this place was the wide range of gluten-free options, as one of us has coeliac disease. From start to finish, we were more than happy with everything we ordered. In the photo, you’ll see two Double Deluxe Burgers served with rosemary salted fries, and a side of onion rings. The burgers come with 10oz of beef, which we absolutely loved — super satisfying and generous with the meat-to-bun ratio, so you leave full without feeling like you’ve eaten mostly bread. The gluten-free burger got a special shoutout from my mum who has coeliac — the bun was one of the fluffiest gluten-free burger buns we’ve ever seen or tasted. We also tried the gluten-free Free State Dog, which was phenomenal. I’m already planning to come back, and when I do, I’m definitely ordering the hot dog again. The onion rings were so good that I honestly wished they came in a gluten-free version too — everyone should get to taste that. To finish off, the three of us shared the Choc Peanut Butter Sundae. Trust me when I say the portion is huge — perfect for sharing after a big meal to avoid food waste. The flavour? Absolutely amazing. The peanut butter was used just right — not overpowering at all — and paired beautifully with the chocolate. The service was just as great as the food: warm, friendly, and genuinely kind. Free State Kitchen is a real gem! The burgers are top-notch — juicy, full of flavour, and perfectly cooked — and the chicken wings are just as impressive. I also love that they cater well for vegan diners, so there’s something for everyone. The beer selection is excellent, and enjoying it in their fantastic garden area is a real treat, especially on a sunny day. Great value for money, and the friendly, attentive staff make the whole experience even better. Highly recommended!

Really nice experience. The food was great. (3 tapas for 20.99) The size of the tapas was reasonable. We sincerely enjoyed all the tapas and the Spanish cheese board.

The first time my husband and I came here we had one of the best sandwiches from the deli, service was amazing and we said we would definitely go back. This time was so disappointing. Our first sandwich was more of a focaccia style flat bread and had a good amount of filling, this time we got a half baked roll that was stodgy and was half the size with barely any filling, we paid £8.50 and £9.90? For each small roll(see picture). The filling flavour was great but the massive inconsistency with the size and bread makes us hesitant to ever go back.

Whenever I’m in Liverpool, there’s always one place I have to visit for food, and that’s Lunya – the quality of the food is exceptional, and they offer some of the best tapas around. Walking inside their deli and restaurant really makes me feel like I’ve suddenly arrived in Barcelona, and it’s obvious they work with local suppliers, with this being shown in the food. The interior is also attractive, with a map of Spain on the wall and an open kitchen at the back of the restaurant. The friendly staff members are clearly aware of allergens, explaining how everything works, and they made sure the oil was fresh to avoid cross-contamination on my Patatas Bravas. The lunch menu is my favourite offering here, which, as of the time of writing, is served between 12 and 5 p.m., Sunday to Friday. My favourite options are the Chorizo cooked in white wine with fennel seeds and honey, the Patatas Bravas with tomato sauce and aioli, and the Albóndigas (pork and beef meatballs) in tomato sauce. The crispy potatoes and flavoursome sauces make the Patatas Bravas a reliable choice, and I’ve struggled to find places that make it as well. The combination of flavours in the Chorizo, even adding fennel seeds, just complements each other beautifully. With the meatballs, they’re thick and tasty in that delicious, rich sauce. As with any tapas restaurant, the food comes out as it’s ready rather than all at the same time, so it’s fun and feels interactive, as well as ensuring the food always comes out hot. Based on what I’ve seen from the owners, they seem like lovely people, and they also add a charitable donation onto the bill. I like how they provide information about the charity and what it means to them, compared to other places that just stick it on the bill, and you don’t know what you’re paying for. Lunya is worth visiting Liverpool for alone, and I still miss their Manchester location to this day!

A great experience. Service was lovely. A gluten intolerance was taken very seriously and the right questions asked. The food is authentic and varied and came quickly. Recommended wine was appreciated. I would happily come again.

We've passed several times before when in Liverpool and finally decided to call in. What a treat!! We had the giant sharing deli board, there were a few bits that we didn't know what they were but everything was delicious! And the bread was so tasty! They didn't have a pinot on the menu but the waitress recommended another which was lovely and crisp and paired beautifully. All the staff were very attentive and we called back to the deli before travelling home to get some fresh bits to take back with us. We can't wait to come back so we can come for tapas as they looked beautiful

Absolutely fine. I just wish is wasn't quite so average. No dish wowed. Ambitiously priced I'd say. A few Almonds over £6 is going it some. Leaning a little too much towards the deep fried on many dishes. Great deli! The competition does do a lot better unfortunately.

Absolutely loved my experience at Mowgli Street Food! The decor inside is beautiful—warm string lights, cozy seating, and even some swing-style seats that give the place a unique and inviting vibe. The service was fast, and the staff were incredibly polite and welcoming. The food was delicious with generous portions and great quality. A perfect spot for a relaxed meal with a great atmosphere. Highly recommend!

3rd time overall, came for an 18th birthday meal for 2 of us and it amazing! Service and food timings were both incredible, our waitress was lovely too! Price is so worth it and so reasonable too. Tried some new dishes.. and our favourites and it all was perfect and the free birthday brownie was the best! Can't wait to go back! 🤩

Gorgeous meal out to celebrate my birthday - Chad was our server and he was so friendly and attentive !! We got the tiffin sharer, and it’s such good value for money. Interesting and fun food - sticky chicken was especially excellent and delicious but surprisingly butter chicken lacked flavour. We had a reservation and requested a booth but unfortunately were seated in a table of two while restaurant was not very busy and there were many unoccupied booths around us during the entire stay. In general the service was not consistent and e.g. our order was not correctly delivered however corrective measures were immediately taken.

A favourite of mine, nice relaxed atmosphere, nice lighting, plenty of staff, tableware and seat swings all.make for a great dining experience. Best of all though - lamb curry and monkey wraps.... blooming heck... two of the tastiest options on the menu in my view. Consistently great across many visits is what counts. Need to try the Beverley restaurant as only ever been to both Liverpool ones so far. Apparently the cook book is good also. They do try and squeeze you in even if you turn up last minute and have some kind of local call handling process for bookings which seems to work well rather than ringing a busy restaurant.

Made a reservation on a Monday night and so glad we did as the place was busy which is always a good sign. Having dined at Mowgli a few times my partner and I wanted to take my mum who was up visiting and it did not disappoint. We arrived slightly before our booking so did have to wait at the bar which was no problem and completely expected. The host (I didn’t catch his name) kept letting us know that he’d have the table soon and we hadn’t been forgotten. He was lovely and very attentive. The food was fabulous, very tasty and the smells were incredible. The quality is excellent and the portion sizes are great for sharing, especially when wanting to try new/different items. (After having looked at other reviews it seems some of the lower starred reviews just were unsure of what they were ordering. Our waitress did ask us if we’d dined before and were aware of how the menu worked). The sticky chicken was a real standout and an excellent way to enjoy lovely Indian flavours if you’re not great with spices. We also always have to order the paneer and the cheese on toast as the flavours are just fantastic. Overall we had a brilliant meal and are already planning our next visit! Always a pleasure to dine at Mowgli.

I’ve been itching to visit Mowgli for years and the day I do visit you all did not disappoint! Our Server Maria was amazing and super knowledgeable about the menu and gave us some fab food recommendations. I especially liked the chat bombs and the butter chicken. The deserts were also equally delicious. Food and drink was served fast even though the restaurant was very busy. Won’t be so long for the next visit

All I could say is that this place is absolute superb! we came here to grab a quick bite before catching train home and it was one of the BEST meals we had throughout our trip in Liverpool. Love every bite we had from boquerones to cod and steak and to dessert, wish I found this place earlier. Service is amazing as well, all the staff were lovely x Will definitely come back next time.

Wow! Been hearing great things about this place for years, and finally got round to going over the August Bank Holiday weekend. It didn't disappoint! The disco cauliflower, hummus and lamb shawarma were sensational as was the local bee. All in a relaxed and informal atmosphere! Loved it! I'll be back!

I was a bit dubious about this place don't seem to have that many meat options. So we ordered all of them, and also the cod, and everything was really good. I must give a special mention to the fact that they have a surprisingly good range of Italian liquors including Montenegro and Cynar. Also the service was excellent. The only thing I would say is that it's really small, so definitely better to book.

Amazing place with Middle Eastern small plates to share. The oyster mushroom shawarma was really nice and not something I tried elsewhere. The whipped goat’s cheese was also great and the pickled watermelon bumped it to the next interesting level. The warm pita was fine but far from exceptional. Disco cauliflower was great and the falafel was pretty solid also. I tried their dessert Lebanese wine which was definitely not to die for but interesting to try - similar I style to sherry or Madeira. Overall I think this place is a must if you are in town since the food is really good. Value for money is very reasonable

Food was great, the disco cauliflower was delicious. Would be 4 or 5 stars if it wasn’t for the mezze which was insanely overpriced - assumed the plate they brought was for one, but it was for three, and cost nearly £22! Bizarre because everything else was priced pretty fairly. Everything we ate was really good, and I would go back. Go, but avoid the mezze!

Absolutely gorgeous food. Ate it so quickly I didn’t get time to get a picture of it! Lovely service and atmosphere. Every plate had its own unique flavour and was excellent. Personal favourite was the crispy sea bass, absolutely divine!

Enjoyed a delicious meal here on a Wednesday date night. Would highly recommend booking, the place was humming and is small and intimate. The menu offers plenty of choices for veggies and vegans, with meat and fish options besides. The disco cauliflower is legendary for a reason and we ate up every morsel. The falafel sharing platter was tasty and good sized for two. The carrots with sour grapes were a surprise hit and the sweet tahini sauce below them was moorish. Top tip, get the date bread and butter pudding if you have room! At £60 for three sharing plates, two desserts and a drink each we thought it was good value. Service was friendly and helpful but a tad slow to take orders. Please consider a cookbook release!!

The food is good and one of the most authentic Japanese restaurants in Liverpool but it is very expensive for what it is. Great if you can afford to eat there but £85 for 2 of us and not a huge amount of food felt pricy in terms of value for money. A shame, this used to be my favourite special treat restaurant.

Etsu is one of Liverpool’s better Japanese restaurants and a solid choice for dinner before heading to the waterfront. The entrance is charming, with a small garden leading up to the door. Inside, the decor is simple, clean, and understated, and food comes out quickly. • Kishu Monogatari Umeshu: golden, fragrant, served with a whole plum, a lovely start. • Ebi Tempura: light batter, crisp and not greasy, with springy prawns. Much better than expected. • Tori Gyoza: pan fried golden, with just the right crispness and flavor. • Sushi Mix Set: 16 pieces, fresh and filling, with a good balance of nigiri and rolls. • Spider Roll: crispy soft shell crab with spicy mayo, tasty, but only four pieces, which felt a bit small. • Chicken Katsu Don: crunchy outside, tender chicken inside. Egg was slightly overcooked, but still comforting and family friendly. Prices are a little on the high side, but the food is traditional, well prepared, and consistently good. Nice relaxing Japanese restaurant in Liverpool. One of the more Authentic Japanese restaurant with great variety of sushi and drinks. Just a little more on the pricey side but if money is not an issue then this will be the place to go for sushi in Liverpool.

Friendly and helpful staff, relaxing atmosphere and freshly prepared sushi. Great selection of Japanese beers. Really enjoyed yuzu ice creams! Definitely will be back!

Absolutely gorgeous hidden gem. Authentic japanese dishes made fresh. Sushi is always presented beautifully. Had sushi, a katsu don and a cake as a treat with a special mocktail.

Etsu is always and I mean always, brilliant. I often go by myself and feel very content to special occasions and it fits the brief perfectly. The food is sublime, beautifully prepared and delicious every single time. Staff are lovely and you’re looked after without being imposed upon. Very lucky to have this wonderful restaurant close by.

This restaurant brings the ‘authentic’ title to Japanese food wholesomely. It has been randomly discovered by a group of friends, and it has instantly become the spot we all attend for any sort of celebration. The service is excellent, the food is fantastically fresh and well-prepared, the restaurant has a beautiful cozy atmosphere, the staff are humble, welcoming and honestly friendly, and the prices are very good. As a coeliac, I have many options on the menu, and never have I been left to feel a ‘troublesome’ customer. I highly recommend 🙂

Still my favourite coffee shop in the UK, hands down, even after first visiting 16yrs ago. I live over an hour away so always make sure I visit whenever I'm in Liverpool. A lovely chilled atmosphere if you want to people watch with a coffee and get some work done. The coffee is smooth but strong and each one tastes the same every time I go. It is the only place I will order a flat white because it's simply that good. Normally, I'd want something bigger. Make sure to visit next time you're in Liverpool and you won't be disappointed.

We headed here for breakfast after seeing a TikTok review and weren't disappointed. We had the Sausage Buoy with an added hash brown and a latte. Coffee was lovely, food was even better. Staff were really nice. We had to wait a little but it was a busy service and you can see the chef cooking everything from scratch. Nice selection of pastries and cakes. Not cheap but worth paying for the quality food and coffee. Definitely recommend. 👌🏼

me and my partner stumbled across this place and it definitely was a good choice. I had the poached egg on sourdough add sausage and a portion of beans. probably the best eggs i have ever eaten. My boyfriend had the BSC fry up he enjoyed but little on the salty side. the beans were more on the tomato side but the flavour was incredible. staff were beyond friendly and the place had a great atmosphere. drink options were a oat milk chai, a tea and orange juice. this was all £46 which was quite pricey but would have been better if the sourdough was served with 2 peices of bread instead of 1. overall experience was 9/10 - we will be back 🫶🏻

I had the chance to visit Bold Street Coffee, and it definitely lived up to its reputation. The place has laid-back yet vibrant atmosphere—bustling but not overwhelming—creating the perfect spot to enjoy a quality cup of coffee and take in the energy of the city. It immediately reminded me of the local coffee shops in Portland, Oregon, with its warm ambiance, friendly baristas, and a focus on great coffee rather than unnecessary frills. I went for a Batch Coffee, and it was smooth, well-balanced, and full of flavor—exactly what I look for in a solid, no-nonsense cup of coffee. No bitterness, just a rich and satisfying brew that showcases their dedication to quality beans and proper brewing techniques. As for food, I tried the Egg Buoys, and they were spot-on. The eggs were fluffy, the bread was fresh, and the combination of flavors made for a satisfying, hearty breakfast that paired perfectly with the coffee. It’s the kind of meal that feels simple yet crafted with care, much like the best coffee shops back in Portland. The overall experience was great—whether you’re looking for a quick caffeine fix or a place to sit down and enjoy your morning. The space has that mix of minimalist design and cozy charm, making it feel welcoming without trying too hard. Definitely a place I’d come back to.

We came here on a Sunday evening without a reservation, it was busy but we were able to be seated right away. It was the table by the kitchen doors/ way to the toilets but we didn’t care. Service was great, our Canadian waitress was so friendly. The food was delicious. Good portion sizes. Would definitely come again.

The lunch tapas deal, which includes three dishes, is a great option and offers good value for money. It’s perfect if you want to try a variety of items without spending too much. The staff are welcoming and provide friendly service, which adds to the overall experience. While the food presentation is nice and portions are decent, the taste itself is just average—nothing particularly memorable, but still enjoyable enough for a casual lunch. It’s a solid choice if you’re nearby and looking for a convenient meal, though I wouldn’t go out of my way for it.

Nice food. Was cooked nicely had some good flavours. The mini chorizo was really good. As was the chicken skewers. Once the service got going it was good but took too long for someone to seat us and bring menus and drinks. Got the lunch time offer of 3 tapas for £20. It doesn’t include some of the items on the lunch time menu so that caught me out initially but made it work.

Our first time here and such a good experience. Louie was very helpful and friendly - good advice re portion sizes. We had the 3 plates offer plus a couple of very nice croquettes. Visited this spot on a friend’s recommendation while in town from London. We ordered the mushroom risotto, pan-seared seabass, chargrilled fillet steak with crispy prawns, sizzling prawns in garlic chilli oil, and finished with a Basque cheesecake. The sizzling prawns were the highlight - packed with garlic, chilli, and that rich, prawn-infused oil. We were seriously wishing for some bread to mop up every last drop. Every dish was well-executed and full of flavour. Service was seamless. We were looked after by William, who was an absolute gem - warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly.

Food was very nice, dishes came out in fits and starts with a long delay until the last dishes. The chorizo and fries egg were delightful. Polite staff who gave good advice on options

First time coming to this restaurant. We love a tapas so had to try it, we arrived the waiter was very pleasant and polite. Straight away we were seated, ordered our food. The food was quite quick upon arrival, they came one by one not together. They took a while on our last tapas which was a bit disappointing as the other foods had already been eaten. But the food was amazing couldn’t fault it. Would come again.

Excellent this is our second visit in a matter of weeks. First visits was for my daughter birthday..then my son enjoyed it so much we came back and I had the pancake stack with berries and mascarpone, unreal so filling and delicious. Vegetarian eggs Benedict my daughter ordered on both occasions and she loved it. My son was made to feel so special for his birthday too

Unbelievable food, would definitely recommend visiting. Our server Caitlin was really friendly and lovely and the service was quick and the food fresh and delicious.

Lovely food cooked by Emily with very genpurous portion sizes. Exceptionally busy which shows its popularity but we were quickly served and a table made ready for us. Service from Alice was exceptional, so friendly and very chatty which added to our lovely experience. For anyone who is wondering Alice is from Florida so a genuine American which just adds to the authentic experience of eating at Moose 😊.

First time visitor to Liverpool, and this restaurant was highly recommended to us for breakfast. It absolutely did not disappoint at all. Very large portions, prompt service, and delicious eggs Benedict! Recommend the cheese, pancakes and cappuccino as well. Joey, our server, was friendly, made great recommendations, and made sure our order was perfect.

The food is nice and they have several vegetarian options on the menu. I liked the cauliflower a lot and the humus was nice too. Batata hara was not that well baked (too soft) and should be a bit more spicy for my taste. Portions are big but the amount of bread they serve with the food could be improved. Absolutely recommended this place and would go back when I’m in Liverpool

Such a nice chill vibe but not uncomfortable quiet! Food was delish and very reasonable price! Ended up ordering a lot even though I was supposed to be a light snack! Get ready for a cosy autumnal afternoon! Lentil soup was £4! No overpowering flavours just wholesome! I would have personally enjoyed some more seasoning with the Hummus maybe sort of molasses drizzle to give it an uplevel! But was still nice! £5 and come with home made pitta breads! The mixed shish wrap £10 comes with chips! Very flavourful and filling! Tacos were really nice! Good flavour!

Great experience overall! The menu is very diverse, offering something for everyone. The service was friendly and welcoming, and the food came out quickly. I really enjoyed the lentil soup. The homemade bread was a lovely touch, and the cosy interior made the whole meal feel warm and relaxed. The only downside was the barata potatoes, which seemed to have been reheated in the microwave and lacked crispness. But aside from that, a solid spot I’d happily return to!

The food was absolutely outstanding, incredibly fresh, full of flavor, and authentically Lebanese. Service was excellent as well; dishes arrived promptly, and the staff were attentive without being intrusive. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, especially for a Tuesday evening. I honestly do not think I could have chosen a better spot. While it is a bit on the pricier side, the quality more than justifies it. I would definitely recommend this place and look forward to coming back soon.

A small and cosy restaurant at town center, food is served fast, BBQ is tasty, we ordered chopped lamb, marinated lamb and fish, all taste good. It's served in large portions that is more than enough for one person. The garlic bread served in the biggest size l've ever seen, similar to a 9'inch pizza!

Came to Liverpool for work with a colleague and stayed right in the heart of the city, loads of food spots around, so we did a bit of Googling and ended up finding this gem. From the moment we walked in, the staff were super welcoming and got us seated straight away. We went for the Shiraz mixed grill, and honestly… I’ve had my fair share of mixed grills over the years, but this one? Easily one of the best. Every bite, whether lamb or chicken, was packed with flavour and cooked to perfection. So tender. Really glad we chose this place. It went above and beyond what we expected!!

Rather fabulous. I chose Shiraz as the place for our stag night meal — we’re a relatively well-behaved group of lads in our 30s and wanted something a bit nicer than standard pub food or a takeaway. Shiraz did not disappoint. The service was excellent — you never waited more than a few minutes for someone to check on you, and everything was lightning fast. The venue is small and intimate, yet very comfortable and welcoming — which probably explains its strong Google ratings. The food was outstanding. You can see my main course in the photos, and I can say without hesitation that every part of it — from the sauce to the salad, from the chips to the chicken — was cooked to perfection and tasted fantastic. This one is definitely going on my list for a second visit next time I’m in Liverpool. 13 million views and counting.

This is a really nice family friendly restaurant, they had a kids menu and a high chair suitable for our 2 year old. My wife had halloumi and I had the chicken shish, both of which were delicious. Our two year old had nuggets and chips which she enjoyed. We will happily eat here again.

Amazing experience at Shiraz BBQ! The restaurant was absolutely fantastic — the food was delicious, perfectly grilled, and full of flavor 🔥👌🏼 One of the kebab pieces accidentally fell on the floor, and the staff kindly replaced it right away with no charge — such a thoughtful gesture and great customer service! Our hostess Nicola was very friendly, attentive, and made our visit even more enjoyable. Definitely coming back again and highly recommend this place to everyone! ❤️

Another winner for me! Staff were friendly and greeted you from the door. DOG FRIENDLY establishment, which is a bonus! Staff were very accommodating, and a lovely lady recommended me dog food option, so bought a breast of plain chicken breast for £4, and added some extra bits for him. Food was great. Price is what you would get in a city centre, roughly £16 for my pasta dish.

First time visiting The Quarter. I knew it as Bill and June's newsagent MANY years ago! Food was excellent (I chose steak if the day, with pepper sauce) and my partner chose the Spanish chicken. Both were delicious as was the hallumi starter. We rushed off to the Everyman but performance was cancelled so we came back for a wonderful dessert - apple pie and salted caramel chocolate brownie. Highly recommend the venue, staff and especially the food.

Visited for a family pre wedding meal. Seated in a lovely booth. Kids menu is fantastic, they loved it and its great value for money. Normal menu the goats cheese pizza was amazing!! The dessert display case is wonderful and we loved the variety and prices. Desserts were so reasonably priced and all looked delicious. The pistachio tiramisu should definitely be tried! Service was slow, but that didnt stop us enjoying it and food was divine.

Great food, great service great place. Would have no hesitation in recommending this establishment. Especially if you are going to the Liverpool Philharmonic. If you are on a timescale, the staff are extremely flexible and everything is served very very quickly. Nothing has ever too much trouble. Would recommend this no question.

I was here for my anniversary dinner with my lovely wife! 25 years is a long time so I wanted the evening to be amazing! The staff were amazing apart from a tiny mistake with still and sparkling water. The food was amazing and the atmosphere made us not want to head to out suite for our after party! All in all fabulous!

Came here on a busy Saturday evening with 3 teenagers. We didn’t have a reservation but were offered an outside table which suited us perfectly as it was a lovely day for September! Beautiful decor and clearly very popular, we were given a very warm welcome with a smile and staff were attentive throughout. The menu is varied, offering a range of superb Italian fare plus around 5 specials of the day. We opted for pizza plus pan fried cod in a magnificent lobster bisque, served with samphire potatoes. Beautifully presented and perfectly cooked. Deserts too are top tier with a regular menu plus specials. If you go inside, you can see the deserts available and they taste as good as they look! If we lived closer, we would visit here often. A great find and highly recommended. A special shout-out to Fabio who attended to us with first class service throughout!

Very warm and welcoming staff, great service and great food. Just what we needed after the pre-Christmas fasting period. The lamb livers with onions and other appetisers were tasty, the meat from the "mixed meat platter for two" was tender and flavourful, and overall at a very good price for such large portions. They also brought us baklava for dessert as a complementary treat (no charge), which was delicious! We were too full to order more, but we were delighted to see they've got halloumi and lountza in their menu too! Definitely something to eat for next time! The food was not very appetising. Three of us didn't eat and had to send the food back. They didn't offer to refund, waitress just shrugged her shoulders when we tried to rectify that we were not happy with the quality received. Salmon tasted like chicken and texture was super hard and one person didn't eat meat and it put them off. The chips were cold and rice was overly wet. Friend had calamari and it was too oily and appeared reheated. I recommend the entertainment, just not the food. Coffee was nice. Order a coffee and watch the awesome performance. One star for coffee and one star for the show.

My wife and I visited this morning. Lovely setting and ambience. Ordered the Scouse and 1/2 Scouse breakfasts, the food was tasteful and very warm. Loved how the toast was buttered with butter instead of cheap like margarine. Asked for mushrooms to be extra cooked and too add a side tomato. We ordered a Cappuccino, nice touch as it came on a small tray with a Malted milk biscuit and glass of water. All in all, staff and food were awesome. Definitely recommend and would visit again for sure. 10/10

It is with genuine pleasure that I commend Lucy in the Sky Coffee Shop for what can only be described as a uniquely delightful and theatrically absurd encounter with British café culture at its most creative. From the moment our party entered, we were greeted not only with the warmth and efficiency of highly professional staff, but also with a strikingly whimsical aesthetic that somehow blends playful irreverence with polished execution. Of particular note was the remarkable innovation of serving a luxurious milkshake in a miniature wheelie bin—a gloriously tongue-in-cheek nod to British suburban life that made our entire table erupt with joy. Quite frankly, one could not dream up a more inventive take on modern café presentation. The food was exemplary. Each sandwich was thoughtfully assembled, bursting with flavour and freshness. The accompanying crisps and coleslaw were perfectly judged. The milkshake (bin aside) was rich, indulgent, and generously adorned with whipped cream, marshmallows and sprinkles, served with the sort of flamboyant confidence one rarely encounters outside the West End. The staff were, without exception, a credit to the establishment—friendly without being overly familiar, attentive yet discreet, and maintaining a light-hearted professionalism that made the entire visit feel exceptionally well-managed. This small coffee shop is run by 3 charming young ladies who served us efficiently. The cappuccino wasn’t the best and I also had the full English breakfast. It gives the air of a local cafe but with city prices.

Very cute, cozy restaurant with delicious food! I went there as a French tourist for lunch. The staff was very nice and dynamic, the service was quick. I had a soup & toastie with coleslaw, and a dragonfruit latte. The famous coleslaw was indeed excellent! And the rest was great too. Prices were very affordable for this type of restaurant. The classic rocknroll music in the background was not loud, and of very good taste. 100% recommend - support your independant coffee shops!

A beautiful bar with a good beer selection and staff that are lovely and really friendly. The vibe in the Pen Factory is great and the interior is a great space to visit anyway. You can clearly see the effort the team put in to ensure you have a pleasant experience and although we didn’t eat on this visit. The food looked and smelled great Great beer, stunning interior and it’s also dog friendly.

Have been here loads of times in the past, but it's now under new ownership. But very pleased to say it still seems up to the same high standard. Same ambience. The food was really good, and because it was a nice day we were able to sit outside in the garden which was really nice. They had some great beers on and a really nice cider too. We had excellent service from the barman and Izzy the waitress, who seemed to be running the place just the two of them. Definitely recommend this place.

Had lunch with old work colleagues a few weeks back. Really nice. Food was good and beer great. So revisited yesterday on a sweltering Saturday afternoon for a few drinks on a friend’s birthday. Superb. Beer garden is possibly best in the city despite its smallish size. Loads of greenery amongst the old buildings. The crowd was perfect, no loudmouths or drunks. Just perfect for a hour or two. Well done Fiona and Dom. Nailed it.

A really nice spot serving a lovely selection of beers and very pleasant food. Service was a little stretched when we first arrived, but soon settled and was really friendly and helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed my couple of Oktoberfest beers , and my wife thought the white Rioja was lovely.

Popped in by chance for lunch and had Probably one of the best paninis I’ve ever eaten. We ordered the pistacchiosa and the calabrese- the focaccia on both was beautiful! No mortadella or matcha when we visited but the food certainly made up for that when it arrived. Nice bright atmosphere inside, definitely a little hidden gem.

Focaccia pistacchiosa was so good. Home made focaccia and pesto sauce from Sicily. Nice music and ambience. Owner was also very helpful in recommending the food items! Will definitely be back again!

Tough one for me, this. I would say absolutely go for the pistachio cannoli, as it was incredible. Like the best I've had in this city by a clear mile. The staff member who served us was wonderful too. Didn't get her name but she was great. We had some issues. They "only had one lasagne" and it's not like there's many other mains to choose from. But also how can you only have one lasagne? Bread and olives felt a bit stingy in the portion size too. A handful of olives and two slices of sourdough cut in half to make four. £6.50? The men's toilet door does not lock, and there was pee everywhere. May have been bad timing but it just wasn't a great experience. All in all, no rush to go back at those prices. We spent £30 each on two drinks, some bread, and a starter.

Worth the wait for a table... the truest representation of an Italian trattoria I've come across in the UK. Food was delicious, just keep in mind the tomatoes aren't from Sicily! And the service was friendly and filled with Italian bravado! Definitely worth a try if you're nearby.

Visited Roski for the second time and again everything was outstanding. Dined with my Mum who had never experienced a tasting menu before. She was in her element. It's hard to say what we enjoyed the most as every single course was amazing. All of the staff were friendly and attentive throughout. The wine pairings with each course matched perfectly. We had such a gorgeous meal here yesterday afternoon. The atmosphere isn’t stuffy, it’s super relaxed and the service is absolutely top notch. The cute quaint looking restaurant adds to the overall experience. We had the taster menu and it was just delicious and plenty of food. I have been spoilt since travelling France and experiencing their fantastic food and always felt the Uk falls short with quality and attention to detail, most places just can’t hit it or get it right. I was super surprised to see the lunch menu at a fantastic price, next time we will be trying this. I also noticed the respect and relationship the manager/waiters had with the chef, this was lovely an made the experience more intimate and like staff cared, wanted to be there and were passionate about their job. This is without a doubt the best meal I've ever had. The menu was superb. Every dish was delicious from start to finish. The depth of flavour in the courses was second to none. The food was complimented by the wonderful service. The staff were knowledgeable and happy to help. Special mention to the sommelier who answered all our questions and showed his passion for the wine throughout. It's definitely a place for a special occasion. The full tasting menu and wine pairing was expensive but well worth it. Fantastic experience from start to finish.

Firstly the reservation process was very easy even got a text message confirming my reservation. The welcome of staff as you enter in the 8 table restaurant is warm and friendly. At the moment, everyone dining here in the evening is on the tasting menu. Arriving early, the music mix is a bit intrusive, but fades into the background as the restaurant fills. Staff are attentive without being too intrusive, and the sommelier's presentation was nicely judged. I don't generally like Marmite, but the sourdough with Marmite butter is lovely, and they happily replenished it throughout the meal. The first couple of dishes (the chef's take on carbonara and an asparagus dish with curried salad cream) and the pre-dessert/dessert were the highlights of the meal. The flavour balance and textures were fantastic. On the fish dishes, the stone bass was a bit lacking in flavour while the scallop (which was huge) dish was overpowered by the broth. The main of rabbit was nicely done, being moist and I particularly enjoyed the nugget and ragout. Having ordered coffee, we were also presented with petit fours. Overall, an accomplished meal, but a little uneven in parts.

Visited Duke Street Food & Drink Market while in Liverpool. The atmosphere had that classic food hall vibe — chill, lively, and full of subtle energy. Service was relaxed and easygoing. I tried the naked chicken katsu bowl from Ginger — it was spot-on, perfectly balanced and flavorful. My wife enjoyed her ramen as well. It took us a minute to get oriented, but once we did, it was smooth sailing from there. Saluti

We popped into Duke Street Market for lunch during our one day in Liverpool. So much fun! There are plenty of tasty food choices and seating galore. I chose Fish and Chips and enjoyed every bite. Served hot, flaky, and full of flavor. My partner ordered macaroni & cheese. Everything we ordered was good. Don't miss an opportunity to stop by.

Great place! Only problem was my food and drinks orders from different places was delayed as if they had been forgotten to the point we had to ask twice about different ones, as seeing couples that came in after us get theirs same dish first. But the food was delicious and we would go back. It is very cramps too and though it has a great little nook for kids to play in, it isn’t very accessible. I have problems walking and while there was luckily seating downstairs, you’d struggle with a wheelchair. Plus it seemed the toilets were upstairs, unless there was a disabled one on the ground floor or a lift that we didn’t notice. I did like that it was to be seated and table service though so you weren’t in danger of losing your seat. You order and pay online. But yup, overall we had a great time with lovely food

This place is really great, with a huge variety of food options—truly many. They have Korean, Italian, burgers (very good), as well as a wide selection of beers and drinks. What impressed us most was how easy it was to scan the QR code at the table, pay via Apple Pay (with no extra fees), and have the order delivered straight to the table, without having to queue at the counter or carry your plate around. We also noticed there’s a space upstairs that can be reserved for events. The atmosphere is excellent for going with family and friends. There’s an option to share tables with others, but we didn’t see that as a problem. We will definitely be coming back!

Definitely worth a visit. Really vibey place, perfect for friends and couples. Good verity of food, just browse the menu and order via the QR code - super easy. The pizza I had was delicious, would love to come again and try other vendors. Be advised there may be a short wait to get seated at busy times but definitely worth waiting for.

Came with a work group (approx x40 people) mid week. Venue was chosen for it size and varying food options to suit all members of the group. Place had a cool vibe, however I and most others in the group felt the food was average to poor quality, particularly for the price. I would not eat here again. My work group meet in Liverpool for food a few times a year and I will be lobbying to avoid returning here.

Absolutely unbelievable. I rarely write reviews, let alone good reviews. But this place is outstanding. Perfect service and nice atmosphere, not at all pretentious and extremely inviting. The food is next level. Beef shin ragu is a dream and the lasagne bites restored my faith in humanity. The polenta fries gave me hope of a better future. Nice staff, great drinks and also very well priced. Couldn't recommend this place any more. Sincerely, your reliable neighbourhood foodie.

Our friends have been talking about the vegan Cacio e Pepe Butter Beans for years and we eventually got to try them and they did not disappoint! All the food we had was spot on and very vegan friendly. Will definitely be back.

Excellent restaurant hidden off the main street but well worth finding. The inside is well set out and tastefully done, with a small restaurant area as you walk in next to a quick service bar eating area, and a larger restaurant through the other side beyond the kitchen. The outside is amazing and would be fab in the warmer months but with a few heaters and large canopies it would be great all year round. We sat in the bar area and had delicious pizza and drinks. The staff were very friendly and efficient, the food was excellent and very reasonably priced, and the atmosphere was amazing. Definitely worth eating here.

We held our wedding reception at Buyers in September and it was perfect! Ella, Mel and the team were amazing and helped us plan every detail from welcome drinks to speeches outside and a beautiful three course meal (some of our guests said it was the best wedding food they’d ever had). We also chose some lovely wine from R&H and paired it with the food in advance of the day. On the day, everything ran smoothly and was meticulously organised, the florist was able to come in and do the arrangements, the food came out piping hot (no mean feat for 50 people) and the DJ could set up without issue. The cocktails and drinks were amazing and our guests had a brilliant time. It felt like the whole Buyers team were our pals who were part of the wedding (and put up with us even when we stayed dancing until closing). Excellent service from Nicole overall particularly when she let me know service was already in optimal on the receipt when I said to add a tenner.

Wonderful dinner spot to go to if visiting Liverpool or looking for a good date spot. The pasta and pizza were delicious! The staff were friendly and tentative as well.

Would NOT recommend. We got the beef shin and nduja pasta. The beef shin pasta was tiny (a lot smaller than the ndjua pasta), the pasta itself was too thick and the sauce was average at best. Really disappointing for £18 and the most expensive pasta. The nduja pasta had a crumb on top which had an over powering liquorice taste. The pasta was very unpleasant. Overall way too overpriced for very below average food. I feel royally mugged off. I was genuinely really looking forward to the meal. Will not recommend to anyone.

I absolutely loved this coffee shop which I visited whenever I worked in Liverpool. Devastated to find that it’s closed. Thanks to Cheryl and co for the great coffee, delicious food but most of all for the warm welcome, and the lovely chats. Good luck in the future - I miss you! Penny the trainer from over the road…

Just been here today for my friends baby shower. What a fabulous coffee shop. We had afternoon tea which had a vast array of items along with toasties. The staff here are absolutely fantastic. So friendly. Lovely vibe. Will definitely be going back. Thank you ladies xx

This is a very nice, cozy café with lovely staff, tasty coffee, gorgeous treats and yummy soups. If you want to support independent companies, this is a great place to go. The coffee is roasted locally, the bakery that provides the cakes is an independent, they support local artists and sell beautiful cards... only positive things to say about small fish. Oh, and the turmeric latte with almond milk, to die for.

Lovely little cafe tucked away! The sandwiches and coffee were so lovely. The lady behind the counter gave the most attentive customer service, so chatty and friendly! I also got a blueberry and orange cake to takeaway which was lovely!

Really nice relaxed atmosphere in "A small fish in a big pond". First impressions count, when everyone looks nice and chilled then that's a great sign of a well run place to me. This definitely scores well there. Dog friendly too. So far so good of things tried, a nice cappuccino and tuna wrap. Need to get back and try the lovely looking cakes.

Stumbled across this lovely, cosy cafe that’s easy to miss on a wander through town. We sat in for coffee and cake and all said how it was one of the nicest places we’ve stopped for a coffee.

We ate here for my brother-in-law‘s birthday. We had the set menu with wine pairing for leisurely lunch. The food - top-notch ingredients prepared creatively and the dishes were not over composed. Each course was delicious and different from one another. We didn’t particularly like the wine pairing while the wines were carefully selected the flavour profiles were a little too different than what we’re used to. The service was perfect, warm and friendly. We sat at the chefs table, which I definitely recommend.

We came last weekend for a celebration and Manifest did not disappoint. Not only was the food fantastic, and the drink selection amazing, the staff were so incredibly friendly and passionate. One of the gorgeous waitresses kindly took the time after our meal to write down the wines we had selected with each course so that we could tell our friends and family, I have even bought a bottle of the Clos Cibonne Tibourne this week after my partner declared it his favourite red wine ever. Highlights of the meal definitely included the oysters with pineapple weed and chilli, as well as the venison tartare! Such an incredible night, beautiful atmosphere, welcoming staff, insane food and drink- thank you all so much!

What an experience! What can I say, we have absolutely nothing but good things to say about Manifest and the staff/chefs. The food, oh wow!!! Everything we had was incredible. The food was so fresh and the ingredients were all the best you can find. They make everything in house and the food really packs a punch with flavour. The home made crisps are a must try as is the beef tartare and the cheese selection. We sat at the chefs table and it was incredible. Chef Josh and Paul spoke to us throughout explaining what they were cooking and explaining their inspirations for the dishes as well as recommendations. They were incredible to watch and worked like a well oiled machine. They were so patient with our chatter whilst they cooked. Tom the waiter was so kind and attentive and had some brilliant stories about where the cheeses were from and the cocktail master was superb, recommending two cocktails each for myself and my partner which were insanely good. I cannot recommend manifest enough and wouldn’t be surprised if they were on their way to a Michelin star. We are patiently waiting their June menu release so we can come back!

Manifest is one of the best restaurants I’ve ever eaten at hands down (that’s saying a lot as I live in Paris). Every dish has delicate and wonderful flavors that compliment and surprise each other like a song and dance. The ambiance is lovely and the staff are passionate and incredibly benevolent. I would go out of my way to eat here again.

Excellent from the start. The food is amazing. Every dish was served exceptionally well. Shout out to the talented cocktail master. Listened to what I liked and got creative. Every drink was perfect. Tom is a fantastic host. The interior works really well and it’s a nice and relaxing atmosphere. Perfect experience. Can’t wait to come back!

It is our first time to try Manifest and it did not disappoint. Service is superb and everyone was friendly. I came with my wife, a toddler and an infant. We were attended well. We came in at lunch time. I have attached photos of our meal. I highly suggest trying the onion tart as it was amazing. The rack of lamb was so tender and flavorful. The forced rhubarb was specatular. I highly suggest that you try this small restaurant! P.S the "still warm" salt and vinegar crisp is soooooo good!

We had a late Saturday lunch at Manifest as walk-ins and sat at the bar - highly recommend for a party of two. Everything was outstanding: British sparkling wines, a unique orange Slovenian wine, freshly made crisps, cabbage, perfectly cooked chicken, and an onion tart that was simply unforgettable - the best we’ve ever tasted. Service was excellent, and the open kitchen added to the great vibe.

The mega chicken was very tasty and taste just how it should. Katsu curry had no flavour that's why not a 5 star. But the wing are amazing good place to eat shame abought the katsu

Really good Korean style cafe. We had the Katsu chicken, fried chicken wings and Bento. Very good and worth a visit for lunch or dinner.

Tofu is fried with chicken so careful if you are strictly vegan/veg. Otherwise great food (probably kimchi is also not veg here) but taste good, proper taste of kimchi! Generous portions too. Highly recommended to those who love kimchi, Korean twist/fusion.

One of the finest meals in a while. Easy to find location and limited seating but the food was extremely delicious and filling. Tried both the chicken and mixed meat bowls and can’t get enough of it. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend if you are craving for a large amount of meat in your meal for a fair price. Would visit again for sure.

It was my first time having Korean food and I was blown away. It might've set very high standards for Korean cuisine :)) The place is nice and simple, the order was ready in under 5 minutes. I had a mixed chicken ball and a lovely kimchi salad and I can't recommend them enough!

Reasonably priced Korean and Japanese fast food style hot meals. The menu is focused on quick to serve food, many of which are fried such as fried chicken, but has plenty of choices with different combinations including meat dishes, vegetarian options such as tofu, rice and noodles. Though it may not be that authentic, food is good and tasty for hot fast food. It's largely a takeaway place but there's one table and more bench seating for a limited amount of customers. Service is very efficient, and they allow you to make small modifications and requests.

A vast mountain of nachos for £15. Pretty impressive, although, to be honest, I've had better. A bit more variety and spreading of cheese and sauce throughout would have been good. Probably best shared between about 6 people, seriously, it's that big. The pizza, however, was brilliant. We shared one moderately massive one and I thoroughly enjoyed it. On reflection we should have had two pizzas and skipped the nachos, but I regret nothing! Fun atmosphere, friendly staff. A bit on the pricey side maybe, but worth it for the experience. Bonus points for having about 20 free sauces and dips to pick from!

Perfect place for a quick bite. We came in for Happy Hour... £2 pizza slices 5-9PM. I would have given 5 stars but the slices seem to have gotten smaller and there aren't as many choices, as there use to be, on the pizza toppings. But as always the music is great! 🎶

Nice fun place with a young vibe and great music mix. Just stopped in for a quick drink and a couple of slices of pizza . Need more staff behind the bar and charging more for less is always a no no with me . Small can of Estrella and a 2/3 Of a pint was £8 . Pint felt small then I noticed the 2/3 pint mark .

Went to Crazy Pedros after trying a slice at Boxpark. Didn’t disappoint. They had BOGOF on cocktails and both me and my partner went for the deal, lots of selection on drinks. The pizza was amazing with great quality base, our mistake the pizzas are MASSIVE and we should have chosen to spilt one. Not a big mistake we now have pizza for lunch.

I ordered slices, rather than a full pizza, to try a few different flavours. I was disappointed that they come with very few pieces of the toppings, and very small pieces at that. Tasted good though; great pizza dough. And quick service.

A really interesting place! The furniture is simple but very particular 😉 The pizza is good, well cooked and there are so many toppings to try! (Mine was Chicken and Waffle 😋) Definitely to try ✌🏻

The food was absolutely amazing, we got the karisik for 2. Comes with so many different types of meat but the lamb was incredible. Even the rice by itself tasted amazing. Only issue was the seating. They had us sat right on the communal pathway next to where the food comes out. So we had people/waiters running around us nonstop. We did ask to move table and we had to move our own food(multiple plates) which was a bit weird as there was a couple waiters watching us do it. I would go again however as everyone was lovely.

Elif serve authentic grill meat in turkish style, their charcoal grill item is the dish that you must go for. I ordered a platter for around £20 with decent amount of meat and they taste amazing with the charcoal grilled aroma. The white sauce salmon is also great. Worth mentioning the staff are very friendly. Sometime you might need to queue.

Stumbled across Elif Turkish BBQ while solo traveling and I’m so glad I went in. The smell of the charcoal grill pulled me inside, and the vibe was so warm with laughter and families enjoying their meals. The staff were super friendly, introduced me to the food, and made me feel really comfortable even though I was eating alone. The lamb was honestly the best I’ve ever had – so flavorful and perfectly cooked on the charcoal. Amazing food, amazing people. Can’t recommend this place enough!

I went to Antalya in Turkey this summer and I have to say I actually think Elif does better quality food than what I had over there. I was craving Turkish and this just hit the spot. I loved the lamb pieces so juicy and the flavour was cooked in a way where it almost had a steak like taste, some of the chicken on this platter were really good too and paired with the peppers/the buttery rice - its lovely. This platter was for 2 but definitely could be for 3 since it’s so filling so we took some home to enjoy again! I feel like the juices could have been fresh, the sprite was flat and the pineapple tastes a bit strange. Other than that food is very nice here.

This place is over rated. Food is okay, as a Turkish restaurant, not the best. Extremely bad value for money as the portions are comparatively small, and there is a minimum number of dishes per table policy. 3 out of 5 of us weren’t even that hungry - I was. Lamb chops were totally dry. Adana kabab was like okay, I have had better trust me. Rice were meh. Disservice to Turkish food. This was first time visit to Liverpool central, so we chose this place. Waiters were fine but they were 4 birthdays they kept celebrating, where they blasted some cheesy birthday music, specially twice for a drunk guy and girl on the table near who they kept cheering on. The male waiters were so excited to see the drunk guy and a girl. Take it easy folks. Atmosphere 1 star. Otherwise service was ok, not the best. Terrible night out.

Came to the UK for a holiday. Plane arrived at 9pm and all the restaurants were closed, except for this one. Open with a warm and cosy interior. The waiter? Friendly and polite! The food, absolutely wonderful. Every bit of the meal was incredible. I’d love to come back here someday! Incredible!

An excellent authentic Italian restaurant, run by actual Italians! We arrived as a group of 7 with no reservation and only waited 10 minutes. Great freshly-cooked food, served with a smile, in a classic interior. Mostly good value for money, although beers were a bit expensive - it's also quite noisy due to the closely packed tables. But overall very much recommended!

A beautiful authentic Italian restaurant. Hands down some of the best food I've had, their lasagna is my personal favourite and their cheesy garlic bread is to die for. The place is run by a brilliant and friendly team. It's easily the best Italian in Liverpool.

Nomad Food Quest visit to Casa Italia on Stanley Street, Liverpool. Seconds away from Mathew Street, opposite the Eleanor Rigby Statue. A beloved Italian restaurant that has been serving generations of Scouse families for years. It has a loyal following and is known for the pretty consistent queue outside. I stumbled upon a rare occasion when the queue was minimal, so I decided to see what all the fuss was about. It took around 10 minutes to get seated, another 10 to be served, and 10 more for the food to arrive. Now, a caveat: I’ve had Carbonara in Italy many times, also at lots of UK Italian restaurants and make it myself. I'd like to think to a high standard - so consequently I know I'm a tough critic. My experience at Casa Italia. Because of the restaurant’s popularity, the staff seemed rushed and had little time for pleasantries. It came across as brusque, but honestly, it reminded me of busy tourist spots in Italy and Paris. Maybe that’s part of the “authentic” experience. I've also been to many places where you are treated like one of the family. I only had one thing in mind: the Classic Carbonara. They do offer the Anglicised version with cream, like the supermarket ready meals many are used to, but that’s not for me. I ordered the piccolo (small) portion, which still cost £13.40. My first reaction: It looked very small. My Second reaction: A lack of garnish. I’m used to seeing Carbonara topped with ample guanciale and parmesan, usually offered with extra cheese and black pepper by the server. None of that happened. The guanciale was a touch sparse and pale, lacking the colour and crispiness I expect to see that comes from properly rendered fat of the guanciale. Then came the taste test. It was... underwhelming, when compared to what I'm used to. The texture was just about right, and the cooking method seemed ok. But it lacked the richness of extra egg yolks, the saltiness I'd expect from the guanciale and pecorino, and the punch of black pepper that defines a true Carbonara. The cheese profile was muted, and the guanciale didn’t add much texture. That said, it wasn’t bad. Just not great. For someone who’s never had a great Carbonara, this would probably be enjoyable. I added a generous helping of the powdered parmesan from the table shaker and a few good twists of black pepper. I was tempted to add a touch of salt - but I couldn’t bring myself to do it. With those additions, it became more adequate than underwhelming. Also, the bowl was deeper than it looked, so the portion size was actually fair for someone not wanting a decent sized meal, I thought £13.40 was a bit hefty for a small portion. My verdict? This isn’t a great Carbonara - not by Italian standards. Based on the flavour, I’d question the quality of the ingredients or how they were prepared, but that’s just my unverified opinion. At the priced charged I'd expect a great carbonara. Still, it wasn’t bad. I think most of their customers would be satisfied. If they are not chasing the “great and good,” there’s no need for them to change. But I think they should take the few small steps to up the game. L I won’t be frequenting Casa Italia for my Carbonara fix. I plan on going back to try a lasagne and maybe one of the other classic penne dishes. The waiter who brought the bill was pleasant - the first to ask if the meal was okay. I’m used to being asked mid-meal, but hey, better late than never. Would I recommend it? Yes. Give it a go. Many think it’s worth queuing for.

Amazing Italian restaurant... It feels chaotic at times but that just adds to the charm. Delicious lasagne, bubbling hot and very tasty. Some wine sold in carafes which again adds to the authenticity. Would definitely recommend.

I'm dairy free so finding a spot that truly caters for it and doesn't instantly narrow my options to 1 or 2 dishes is quite hard to find. With it being a busy restaurant the waiting can be a little long however, we waited about 20 minutes and we were quickly seated. However,for big groups of 6+,I'd suggest booking beforehand. The atmosphere was great it was the classic European loudness where everyone is in their own world,enjoying food with their loved ones,laughing and talking loudly. Now onto the service,I have to say I felt very well taken care of.Gianluca was truly lovely and catered to my restrictions and let me know that the chef's are able to make everything dairy free,which I think shows the quality of care that they take for their customers. I chose the lasagna which was very tasty(they did not skimp out on the meat,it was served very nicely), and we also had a carbonara which was extremely rich and filling! I would 100% recommend this to anyone who wants a good Italian meal in Liverpool. It was a reasonably priced menu with a good variety of options,again they even offer lactose/gluten free desserts. So its perfect for those with dietary requirements.

One of my favourite Italian restaurants of all time! Every time I visit Liverpool, I have to stop here as the food is absolutely sensational. It’s not a fancy or “luxury” place, just a down-to-earth, authentic restaurant that serves amazing quality food. There’s always a queue outside, but it’s definitely worth the wait every time. It’s always busy, yet the service is still friendly and efficient, which really adds to the experience. A true gem in Liverpool that I can’t recommend enough!

A really enjoyable dining experience. We came here for dinner, eager to try Brazilian-style food, and were glad to find they offered halal meat options. The price felt fair considering the wide variety of meats, and we were truly spoiled with the endless servings. Some cuts were a little too dry or undercooked, making them harder to chew, but overall the flavours were excellent. The side dishes also came in generous portions — more than enough for us, especially coming from an Asian background where we’re used to smaller servings. Service was great, and the staff were very friendly throughout.

We’ve just had an absolutely wonderful dinner at Bem Brasil and I’m still smiling (and slightly rolling) from it. From the moment we walked in, the place had that warm, lively buzz, great atmosphere, friendly staff, and the delicious smell of grilled meats drifting about like a promise. The food itself is outstanding. Perfectly cooked cuts brought round one after another, each one somehow better than the last. Service was spot on too. Very attentive without hovering, and they made sure everyone at the table had exactly what they fancied. If you like good food, good company, and leaving happily stuffed, Bem Brasil delivers in spades. We’ll definitely be back. Skip breakfast first next time!

Beautiful meal, well priced. Their signature cocktail was lovely, would have liked to have had the room to try every flavour but the food was so filling. Get there early! Its no secret how good this place is, we arrived just in time as there was one couple ahead of us and within 5 mins around 12-15 people behind us waiting for a table. Once seated the food came out quickly and the service was excellent, outside the queue continued to grow! The food was perfect, and great value for money... what you see in the photos along with 2 teas came to £32.10. 5 stars all day long! Probably the best breakfast I've had in Liverpool.

Lovely café / restaurant located on Dale Street. Busy and popular so we had to wait for around 5 minutes for a table. Friendly and accommodating staff, excellent menu with various options and delicious food and coffee. Highly recommended!

Group of 11, requiring gluten free meal for 1 of us. They were very busy but greeted us outside and explained they would sort us a table. They did two tables for us which was fine. The food was hot and fresh and wasn’t greasy, it was one of the best English breakfast I have had in a long time. The coffee was lovely and also hot. They served a glass of ice water without any prompt with a raspberry & 🍋 slice. The staff were extremely busy but were happy and pleasant and accommodating. They heard we were celebrating 2 birthdays so even bought out a tray of beautiful chocolate mini cupcakes, they were warm yummy for no charge. Wish it was more local so I could visit again! The pancakes looked amazing and so did the juices ! Well done, you’ve really got the customer service spot on! Well done ladies !

Service was good. The food was tasty. The price for Liverpool wasn't bad. I had the breakfast, and my wife had a chicken wrap. Portions on the whole were good, especially what my wife had. The only issue I had with the breakfast was the sausages. Although not bad, had better. They were small. A niggle I suppose, and some will hate me for it most probably. The wife's was very tasty and a decent portion. I had to do the husbandly thing and help her finish it. Apart from that little bit of fussyness from myself, and just my opinion, it was a lovely little caff with lovely staff, and I would definitely recommend it.

We were passing by looking for something to eat, luckily they had tables at the time. The staff were very welcoming. The cocktails are amazing! I always look for a perfect Pina colada and they did it! The whisky sour was strong but very nice. The food, from the starters to the dessert amazing! I wished we could have gone more while visiting Liverpool but there was not tables to reserve at the time. If we came back to Liverpool, we'll definitely reserve a table again.

I went here 4yrs ago and it’s was an absolute delight, some of the best food in Liverpool, great atmosphere, service and events. Went over the Valentines weekend 2024, quite disappointed. Food used to be 10/10 now it’s a very generous 7/10. The food is presented well but upsetting especially when you ordered king prawns and you are served standard small prawns which were obviously frozen and chewy For such and posh looking place full of potential there are about 4 cheap wines on the menu, which was terribly disappointing. I even had to clean my chair it was full of crumbs and the table was sticky like a bar in a pub and needed a good clean, it was not busy so zero excuse for that!

One of the best, if not, THE best club I've ever been to. Highly entertaining, excellent dancers, Fantastic atmosphere, lovely drinks, great music, centrally located and open all hours. Can't recommend enough. Don't miss the petal drops at 11pm and midnight.

One of a kind!? Of course I haven't seen everything around the world, but at least I can say that this place is one of very few that manage to nail the concept of fine dining AND clubbing - all under one roof (and in one room). Good food in beautiful surroundings, with great atmosphere and spectacular party after the dinner was finished. Highly recommended.

Absolutely beautiful, warm, welcoming place to eat and drink. First visit to Liverpool for a friends birthday, staff extremely friendly and made the evening special with a birthday cake. Building is stunning, atmosphere and ambience was perfect...made a great start to a Saturday evening.

One of the best meals I've ever had. The squid was definitely the best squid I've ever had. Service was excellent too. Absolutely worth a visit.

We visited this italian seafood restaurant and had an amazing time. On arrival, we got seated immediately by a really friendly staff member and got our drinks ordered. Service was nice, friendly, and prompt. Our meals were cooked to perfection. Good portion sizes and the seafood were very tasty. I would highly recommend the italian Club fish if you are in Liverpool and craving italian sea food. Highly recommend you call ahead to book a table as it does get busy

We had our wedding reception in the private function room upstairs. It seated 26 of us comfortably. There were 3 small children running around and 2 other babies. The staff were very friendly, accommodating and couldn't do enough for us. Everyone single one of our guests said how amazing the food was.

Top class. We had a fantastic lunch here. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. But best of all, the food was delicious. I had the Sea bass and it was really exceptional, so fresh and cooked to perfection. Washed down with a yummy house white wine. Dietary requirements well catered for. Being Gluten and dairy free I was well looked after. Won't be long before I return as need to try their Gluten free pasta! Highly recommended.

Amazing experience eating lunch here! The service was amazing and the one thing that I never seen in other restaurants are lemonade. Other restaurants will provide Schweppes but this time i get to try this lemonade that was premium. Food was amazing as a family because first, the fries, squid rings, prawn and the vegetables drizzled in olive oil is amazing, everting is fried with their sauce. Next is the olive oil bread with seafoods like clams, fish, prawns and more. There is soup at the bottom and it was also amazing. Next we have the spicy ravioli with seafood and a poached egg in the middle. Love it and would like to order it again. At last we have the seafood and lobster spaghetti. The reason why I love this place is because I love seafood and this is the one that I love the most. Overall amazing and there is nothing bad to say about this restaurant.

Loved our visit here! Quaint little restaurant in the heart of Liverpool, well-decorated and spacious inside. The dishes themselves are wonderful, using fresh fish and seafood, punching flavour and are all well-presented. The service is also brilliant, attentive, inviting and welcoming. Really good choice of wines too. Cannot recommend enough for an intimate or special evening!

Good quality but very reasonably priced and unpretentious seafood. Really enjoyed my hand made pasta carbonara with prawns, squid and smoked haddock. The fish pie was lovely too. The people on the table next to us got the sharing seafood platter (2 or more people only) and it looked spectacular, with crab, lobster and large prawns, amongst other things. There was a lot of food there. I will definitely be coming back to try more off the menu.

It all started so well. Welcomed by polite staff. Seated before time. A good list of specials. We shared 6 oysters with Prosecco, perfectly fresh and not too big, followed by tuna tartar, again fresh and nicely flavoured. Then the mains, I had tagliatelle with prawns, the pasta was overdone and all stuck together, prawns were delicious though. My partner had the special Red Snapper risotto. The fish was actually slightly burnt, and the risotto was overdone. There were also some very chewy strips of squid, not really edible. The sauce flavour was too bitter. Sides of Samphire, too soft and overdone, and fries slightly shrivelled. I think the food was overcooked and left waiting. Finally, we had vanilla ice cream, a shot of expresso and Amiretto, lovely, but you can't really mess this up. Staff throughout were great. We complained about the risotto, and it was removed from the bill, and we were given a free glass of wine.

Been on our list for a while and we finally got the chance to go but if honest were a little underwhelmed by the food. The restaurant itself is very unique and quirky which we loved. Staff were friendly and there was a good selection draft beers. Where it was letdown was the food, it was nice but overall too salty and it wasn't until the end we could place what wasn't quite right. It was only ok but not amazing as we'd been hoping. They also did NHS discount which was a nice bonus. Overall great restaurant but the food just didn't hit the mark for us. But we wouldn't hesitate to nip in for a pint or two due to the selection on draft and enjoy the surroundings

Quirky little chicken coop down stairs, Got seated in a booth, ordered our food through the online order on our phone. The chicken was amazingly tasty, drinks extremely refreshing, service was sweeeet 👍 That's all I can say. I will definitely be returning at some point😊

We went here after a recommendation from a friend, boy was he in trouble! My food was completely cold not an ounce of warmth to it, my family complained theres was only just warm too but with an imminent ferry to catch sending it back wasn't an option . I had the honey butter waffles with one measley piece of bacon what a let down! The place looks great and the staff were nice enough but the main thing being the food lets it down. Theres a lift for prams and wheelchairs

Food was tasty, I had the chicken breast, bees knees and sweet potato fries and enjoyed it. Service was amazing and staff were super friendly, basically got a beer by the time I ordered it and the Paulaner was amazing never had it before but definitely one to try if you're here. Really cool chilled out vibe and nice decor, even have an arcade game machine and beer pong table, can imagine having pre-drinks would be fun. Definitely come back if I'm back in Liverpool.

Such a cool place, downstairs in the basement, I really love the decor. The chicken is very good, I'd recommend the 'bees knees' sauce if you like a bit of spice. Only downside is you have to pricey drinks.

Very clean and unique restaurant in the heart of Liverpool. 5 of us seated in a booth and the service was great. A veriety of meals ordered and they came out quite quickly. I had the Chicken Breast with Korean sauce with dirty fries and a side order of "not chicken nuggets", essentially Halloumi chunks with a choice of sauce. We will be going again and they do a range of discounts for certain job roles in the community 😁 Recent visit for 15 of us and still did not disappoint. This time the Dirty Katsu Fries and Monkey Balls were fantastic.

An amazing cafe hidden away above a chicken shop. Lovely staff, great service and decent food - the coffee was excellent. Don’t restrict yourself to the main area where the service is as the floor above is even better. There’s also a side room, with a coal fire, and a very splendid back room. I love the bare brick and retro mismatched furniture. A very special place indeed.

Sadly it was a real mixed bag at this cafe today. When we placed our orders we were not told that there would be a delay. It took the kitchen nearly 30mins to bring out the two full cooked breakfast and a further 7mins to bring out the egg benedict. The cooked breakfast was good both the boys liked them. The egg benedict was so bad, I couldn’t finish it. The ham was cold and the eggs hard boiled. Which is so wrong for this meal. If we had, had time to spare I would have requested them to re do it. But we were on a time crunch and given how long it took to make the first time, we couldn’t wait. The coffee was good and the atmosphere great.

A hidden gem! Narrow street entrance up stairs leads to an amazingly large space, spread over two floors. Friendly staff, great GF brownie and coffee. Open until 5pm for coffee, which is perfect for that late afternoon caffeine hit.

Very unique place where it almost feels like home there.. cosy and homey. Coffee was just okay.. nothing special nor it is bad. But I really like the unusual cosy atmosphere there.

Incredible place, much more seating than expected but it still got crowded so I’d recommend being there early. The breakfast and hot drinks were fantastic. The interior design and atmosphere beautiful. We will be coming back for sure!

Super friendly cafe with really satisfying food and amazing milkshakes! They cater really well to dietary needs and everything was cooked perfectly, the crispy potatoes were so moreish! You order at the bar and condiments are self serve from a table. Overall a lovely breakfast!

Had a lovely vegan breakfast here. Decent size portions, and very tasty too. My only complaint would be that the tomatoes were tinned rather than fresh! Staff super friendly, the cafe is clean with a lovely chilled out vibe. Be aware it is up 2 flights of stairs which may be an issue if you have mobility issues.

Love it. It's a proper old school vegetarian and vegan cafe. Everything hand made with love and care. Simple menu but everything tasty and big portions. My daughter loved the vegan pancake and ice-cream and vegan cheese on toast. Me, I'm a sucker for soup and these guys deliver, Carrot apple and ginger with cheesy (vegan cheese) garlic bread. Coffee is also excellent.

Great eatery place. Super tasty food. Colourful vibe. It's up some steps and has some more seating on the next floor too. Very, very good food. Second time I've visited. Busy and popular and for good reason. Recommended.

In Liverpool to view the University with my daughter. One of those delightful rights of passage that if you're lucky pepper your parental life. Before we took the open bus tour we popped into this cafe and it didn't disappoint. It reminded me of hippy cafes like the long gone Brillig in Bath, cafes in Shoreditch and Hackney before the gentrification and I rarely find recently. The food is great the service was better than most but what stands out is the anticipation that there's creative work going on around here. People are putting things with various degrees of success but none of it is hum-drum. It ended the weekend brilliantly, and the daughter really wants to go to Uni in Liverpool. Thank you. xx

Really cool space. Has some good music blasting out across the place which gives a good atmosphere. Has a nice outdoor area and a big indoor area. It’s all very rustic which works generally although the toilets were a bit shabby. There’s a decent bar and then various food vendors within this area. You can order from all the vendors off the one site so scan the qr code at your table and then select what you want and get it delivered to the table. We literally ordered 4 different things from 4 different places and everything came quick.

The idea of QR codes on the tables, where there is menu for all locals all around the market is brilliant. We sat, scanned code and could see each single menu for food and drinks without walking all around the place. Food was very good, although we only tried one place. Plenty of space, but I guess it can get tight in rush hours. Totally recommend, even for a dessert or to grab a drink!

This one is not to be missed!! What an awesome place, I've been too a few places like it but this is by far the best. Make it a place to stop when visiting Liverpool! Great choice of places to get drinks from slushies, to cocktails and the poor your own Guinness machine, and a selection for everyone. There is seating inside and out and a DJ playing at certain times. This is a social club you don't wanna miss. The food choices are even better and my eyes were popping out my head with every order that came past, but best of all was the Nashville chicken sandwich from Nashville Cluck, probably the best chicken sandwich I've had in the UK, thick and juicy with a crispy exterior, the sauce was awesome and if you like heat order the hot one 🤯🤤. We will definitely be back when visiting Liverpool!!

Best salt and pepper fries ever!!! Had them for the first time in march, recently returned this past weekend and I swear they were better than last time!!

Fantastic first visit, good food & good atmosphere

Visited here a few days ago and it was by far the best Thai food that I have ever had and I’ve tried a few recently. Amazing food for good prices, we got 3 drinks, two soups and two rice dishes for around £38 which I think is amazing.

An impulse visit .. 3rd time luck to get a table. (We learned that Thursday is a good night!) Had cashews nut nibbles then soup and a chicken in peanut sauce main .. all excellent. The food was brilliant .. just hope the same menu is available this week .. they are on holiday for Christmas, unfortunately!

Great to eat in or take out. Authentic Thai food, the pineapple fried rice is incredible. Got is through COVID as our weekly treat.

Staff are very welcoming and friendly very helpful, the food was really tasty and good potion size, the cost was reasonable for two of us with 3 starters 2 main courses and 2 drinks

Very rustic and cosy feel to this bakery. They offer some of the nicest baked goods I’ve ever seen. The bacon and sausage butty was delicious, their bread really is top tier, light and fluffy with a tough crust. It’s very popular amongst locals and tourists. I will say it is a little of the pricey side however that doesn’t take away from the great atmosphere, quick service and delicious food on offer. 5 stars, I would highly recommend. P.s. Probably the best breakfast I’ve had this year. The bread from here is superb; takes so fresh and is delicious. The cakes were also incredible. We both had the French toast with smoked back bacon and maple syrup. I could have easily eaten another portion. It went down a treat. The cakes were also very good, my only comment was that my brownie had gone a tiny bit stale but it was sitting out on the counter. They had a good choice of local jams to buy as well as coffee and other locally sourced bits. I bought some jam as a gift and some bread to take home. I would definitely go back.

So good, artisan bakery that feels like a local institution - honey oat batch loaf is amazing (forever indebted to the lady who couldn’t help but recommend it the first day I went in) for, great range of pastries, never too sweet, veg toastie is great and so is the coffee even for a coffee snob. Dog friendly and chill with lovely staff (my partner and I refer to one of the guys who works there as “the worlds nicest many). Hope to see them back open soon!

This is honestly the best bakery and coffee shop in the UK. It is the only reason I travel all the way from Scotland to Liverpool every month. The pastries and the coffee are perfect. It is sad to see that it is closed but I hope it will open again sometime soon.

They offer the most delicious croissants in Liverpool city center. Having tried several bakeries, I can confidently say this one has the best taste.

I love the ambience. Rustic and practical. Their toasts are awesome. The pain au Chocolat was flaky and perfectly baked, although the chocolate lingots we're a bit chewy. The vibe was perfect and made it for a great breakfast spot. If I ever come back to Liverpool I will come here every day to try a different toast. Only downside is not having an espresso machine. Luckily there are great coffee shops around.

Amazing little place, if your nearby I'd 100% recommend a visit. Update 4 years on from my first review: This is still amazing and is one of my favourite places in Liverpool! The sourdough definitely has a chew to it but if you don't mind a jaw workout the taste is outstanding! My usual order is either a bacon sandwich or their incredible mushrooms on toast! And the pastries they do!! 😍😍 It often gets busy around lunch and is a bit small inside but even if you can't find a seat I'd highly recommend just getting takeaway it should be a crime to be nearby and not buy something delicious!

The way visitors are invited to engage with the piece adds a whole new layer to the experience—it’s not just something you view; it’s something you feel and participate in. FACT continues to set itself apart by not only showcasing powerful contemporary voices but by creating environments where art becomes a full sensory experience. Whether it’s through sound, motion, or interaction, every exhibition challenges the viewer in the best possible way. This space proves that art can be immersive, playful, and deeply moving all at once. FACT is a must-visit for anyone who loves art that pushes boundaries and speaks to the present moment.

Nice and easy to get to from Central Station, good friendly staff. Automatic doors to get in, good signage about floors and facilities, a decent sized lift and Screen 1 is brilliant. I did get a bit confused because I couldn't see any clear seat or space numbers on the chairs or walls, so I just hoped I was in the right space. My one negative is that the disabled toilet is already on the small side but they have a massive baby changing table in the transfer space and a bin by the door, there is no turning circle, and the hand drying machine is awkward to use. And because there's no turning circle it's hard and painful to close the door and lock the door after myself. I had to do so by twisting my body around. I would have had to have backed up out of the bathroom to use the hand dryer less painfully. It's such an amazing building and institution, but as always bare minimum with the wheelchair accessible toilet. However given their more well known counterparts are refurbing to hell and back with prices soaring and access lessening, I will still be happy to visit again.

I went to see the new horror movie “Weapons” which was playing in screen 2. Unfortunately, the sound in this room was far too quiet. So much so that several people went out to speak to the manager. You could barely hear any of the dialogue being spoken. I unfortunately couldn’t continue to watch the movie. Taking sound out of a horror movie detracts from the whole reason for watching. I was told that this is unfortunately how the digital reel was mixed for this cinema and there was an error. However when I went straight over to another cinema, I was told that this likely wasn’t true as all local cinemas receive the same copy of each film and it was likely the speaker which may have blown. Either way, if the projectionists or managers know that there’s an error with the screen, they shouldn’t be playing said picture. I was grateful to receive a refund after deciding to go and see the movie in a nearby cinema. But again if others were charged full price to see a movie that had sound issues I feel that’s a bit of an unethical move by the company.

Let's talk about the pizza slice. I ordered a Vegetarian Hot slice. The cheese felt cheap and like chewing gum. The crust was extra floppy and lacked personality. ... The presentation, price, and the presence of oils on the table (peperoncino, aglio) - a nice touch.

Brilliant place to visit the cinema or to take in some contemporary art. I usually come here to watch old films and there are plenty of seasons of movies from certain directors and genres etc. Lovely staff and a fab environment away from the hustle and bustle of the larger cinema chains.

Well done! To those who created Bundobust and those who are there in the kitchen, behind the bar and on the floor delivering it, what a great job. I am so often disappointed when eating out but because I love good food so I came with low expectations and high hopes!. From the moment we walked in, the service from Andreas was text book on how to deliver great customer service. Calm, knowledgeable, welcoming, attentive and before I could even finish mentioning an allergy, I was given all the information I required. The wait time was ideal, knowing it’s actually being cooked and not waiting so long that you’re fed up. The presentation, simple and appealing. But above all, the flavours and textures here were exceptional. Balanced, well thought out and I may even say authentic. Reminding me of the vegetarian food I ate in Bangalore yet presented in a modern way. My partner mainly heard me saying ‘oh my god’ on repeat with every mouthful I took. We tried 7 dishes on the menu, and all were perfect. Hearty, fresh, simple, balanced, familiar yet exciting. Well done! I am hoping Bundobust will be successful enough to open more branches across the rest of the country.

Food was good but a little hard to figure the menu out and order! The portions are super small so you have to order three or more things! To me juices weren’t natural! Overall it was expensive because you have to order a couple of things to get full. The place itself not fancy and not good for first dates or business meeting!

Thus place is so friendly and warm from the managers to the bar staff everyone has been welcoming and friendly. The food is secondary to the atmosphere that this place creates. Try the Orange Wine!!!!! Thankyou especially to MAISIE for catering to our every need. What a splendid gaff, thank you all. Cant recommend it highly enough and I'm not a vegetarian.

Really large dining room and very friendly service too. The flavors though are highly lacking and not Indian authentic as I would have expected. If you are hungry this will do, but it wouldn’t satisfy an Indian craving for me.

Amazing food in Liverpool for two vegans!! The menu was very well designed to help you put together a balanced meal of different plates. Everything we had was delicious and complemented each other so well, the okra fries were a definite stand-out along with our drinks (spiced lemonade and chai with amaretto). Plus wonderful service from lovely staff!! Definitely definitely recommend ❤️

Very fun place to grab a bite! It has a colorful, quirky, eclectic atmosphere, with long tables to accommodate groups of friends and a few smaller ones for couples. Also has a good elevated street view for people watching. My server (Frankie) was super friendly and helpful! He really went out of his way to make sure I had a great experience. Food was delicious and the beer selection is exceptional. The barkeep offered samples without a second thought, and I ended up having a pint of the New England, but mostly because it's where I'm visiting from. 🙃

Very cool bar with excellent food and service. The staff are top notch. There is a great upstairs cocktail lounge and outside area for drinking. It's one of the better bars in Liverpool.

Only went for drinks with friends and the dog, but the bar staff were incredibly welcoming and kind. Brought out a dog bowl full of water, and surprised us all with a free hotdog for Alan (our corgi), which he scoffed down at speed! Definitely will be coming back for more good drinks, great atmosphere, and fantastic hospitality!

Review is for nighttime drinking and party time, not the food. Banging atmosphere, DJ knew how to ramp it up and slow it down (for bar and bog trips) just right. Being Halloween weekend obviously was more made than usual, but a fun, safe, night with the music booming was what the doctor ordered. 5th star saved for if ever I do order food and will update!

We did the cocktail making experience for a birthday celebration, which was brilliant. The staff were amazing, taking their time to show us how to make our favourite cocktails. I would definitely recommend!

Came here for the hotdogs was very quite but the bartender was supper chatty and created a great atmosphere for the 2 of us. We have a few chilled drinks. I know slims can be a good night. But even better a great place for pre gig and pre dinner. The staff our very knowledge and friendly. The place to go xx

Visited last Sunday waiting for the train and on a recommendation from a friend who owned an indie brewery and knows her stuff. Plenty of outdoor seating (probably indoor too but I didn't get past the outdoor bar. I tried a flight of 3 beers - all were differently excellent and revisited the first of them for a pint. Really good - it's on the list for my next trip to Liverpool

Large brewery tap in the Baltic triangle. Serving loads of ale including their own. Plentiful seating inside and out. Serves food. Not open that late ( according to google) so don’t leave it too long before going. Interesting setting and a nice bevvy. Recommended. 🍻 🍷

Loved it! A small taproom just a few feet from the brewery floor. Well worth the unpromising walk up King's Dock Street! A visit to the toilet involves a trek around the outside of the building. -2 stars!

We visited the Black Lodge Brewing tap room in Liverpool and I have to say, it was an amazing experience. The burgers were absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked. And the beer! Oh my, the beer was fantastic. It was some of the best craft beer I've ever had. The atmosphere of the tap room was also great, with friendly staff and a relaxed vibe. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great food and beer in Liverpool. 5 stars all around!

A ten minute stroll from Liverpool bus station this former factory warehouse is worth hunting out. On site burger van when I visited. There is lots of outside seating and an indoor bar area which was ideal at the time of my visit as it was pouring down outside. If you are going to be rained in for the evening there are worse places than a fantastic craft brewery. Only downside is the loos are in an outhouse.

Probably the most famous club in the world. Bands doing short sets then change to another band. Plenty of memorabilia to look at around the walls and obviously plenty of Beatles covers by all bands. Decent selection of drinks and plenty of staff serving. But, the bar is CASHLESS. Also, a very varied age range of clientele, ranging from 20 to 70. Nice.

A must go place if you visit Liverpool. Fab experience and superb atmosphere. The pub is small and compact with low ceilings, but that’s exactly what you look. Wide variety of drinks including alcohol free beer. Price is similar to other pubs, surprisingly reasonable. It got a souvenir shop as well selling techies, cups and other Cavern Club accessories. An awesome cultural experience and the best pub we ever visited.

Stopped in at The Cavern Club after our Beatles tour while in Liverpool. The vibe was chill, with a musician performing, and you’re free to wander around at your own pace. Entry was £5, and I was surprised by how big it was underground, with tunnels leading into different rooms and bars. The memorabilia (though I wish there was more) added to the fun, nostalgic atmosphere. Overall, it’s a must for any Beatles fan, and I’m glad to have The Cavern Club under my belt as an important part of Beatles history. Saluti

Where The Beatles started out. We managed to get tickets for Saturday night performance by The Cavern Club Beatles. Support act was a solo keyboard player who was excellent and got the crowd warmed up. Then the band came on at 9.15 and wow, they were amazing, sounded just like the real thing! They did 4 sets with costume changes each time. 'John' was Uncannily like Lennon in looks and mannerisms. Fabulous night. Tip - lf you want a seat in front of stage queue at 7pm at the back entrance!!!!

No trip to Liverpool is complete without a visit to the cavern club. We went in the evening and entry was £5 per person. There are several flights of stairs to get in and the walls are covered in photos of people who have played there. The atmosphere was amazing. There is a lot of memorabilia from guitars, photos, toys etc. There is always live music which was very good and everyone singing along. There are a few tables and chairs but it was standing room only when we visited. A very reasonable entry fee for a fantastic evening.

An essential Liverpool stop for live music and Beatles history. The Cavern Club’s brick-arched basement has intimate acoustics, quick turnover on stage, and an atmosphere that builds from sing-along afternoons to tightly packed evening sets. If the queue is long, the Cavern Pub across the street runs live music with easier access, and the merch shop on Mathew Street is worth a quick look. For a music lover, it’s the right mix of heritage and energy: polished enough to run like clockwork, raw enough to feel authentic. A must on any Liverpool itinerary.

I was not really bothered about going to the Cavern Club. But i really enjoyed it .There were a couple of groups playing while we were there an we thoroughly enjoyed them . It was really interesting walking around looking at the memorabilia. The only down side was the cost of the drinks which you can understand, but the £10 entrance fee was a bit steep. I would definitely recommend visiting The Cavern Club. If visiting Liverpool.

Old style fish and chip cafe, good portions, and big serve with bread butter, peas and tea, but it was ok rather than great. Chips were not crisp and were a bit lukewarm, tea was weak as, service was very nice friendly and quick. Ok value. Worth a try as the reviews seem to fluctuate quire a bit.

The best fish n chips in Southport? Definitely! The perfect stop to grab some food when out on the motorbikes with mates. And it’s my usual restaurant when the kids are hungry as it’s the best food and service for miles.

Does exactly what it says on the tin. No muss nor fuss fish and chips for a cheerfully low price, with hefty portion sizes. Staff are incredible - hands down, the fastest service ever received within 3 minutes.

Lived here most of my life, and the Swan Fish and Chips takeaway is well renowned around town, it has always been a local favourite, and I have to say that it is by far for me the best. The quality of the chips, never soggy, always tasty. The service is friendly . The wait can often be long on Friday night chilly night, but it really is the telltale of a good fish and chip shop :)

Fish was fresh. Chips so so. What I didn’t like was it was served on polystyrene plate. Both mine and the other portion of fish and chips. Carcinogenic ! I thought that stuff had been banned so only one star. Customer eating inside got the better piece of fish too !!! Taken off my plastic carcinogenic plate !!

Was in Southport and my daughter wanted fish n chips. A colleague of mine recommended this place. A quick Google suggested we should visit and we were not disappointed. The inlaws came with us and the were both very happy. It's tucked away a little but definitely worth finding this place. Service was spot on and the food was amazing too. Lots of empty plates and full bellies! When we're back in Southport we will definitely be back!

Good place to have good quality food served by friendly staff. Plenty of choice for vegetarians. If unsure, just ask the member of staff. Good value for money, free parking eat in or takeaway. If the vegetarian options were clearly marked on the board as more and more people are, then it would be 5 stars. Would recommend.

Quality fish and chips to take away or eat in there’s a good selection of classic chip shop foods on the menu but for me the cod is a favourite perfectly cooked and coated in a crispy batter all served with a friendly smile it’s a real treat without breaking the bank. Some of the best fish and chips I've had, with that perfect mild and sweet curry sauce that all fish and chips should be drenched in. Sorry about the picture, I tried to get one that shows the white fluffiness of the cod. Really delicious, with efficient service. Is it expensive? Yes. But do you get banging traditional fish and chips? Yes. Will we be back? Yes.

Just had two fish and chips with curry sauce and salt and pepper calamari, What a delight, crisp batter, good chip shop chips, lovely curry sauce. Must be best fish and chips in the area. Very busy so must be well loved. Great new find.

My first visit here while visiting Southport I had a traditional fish and chips takeaway with the largest onions rings ever ever seen. Then on my second visit with the family we decide to dine in,at the immaculate restaurant. There was a considerable variety of dishes available to suit most taste and dietary requirements and a good children's menu with a drink & ice cream included. I decided to try the fish pie even though I don't like smoked fish but I was glad I did, as it was delicious, my partner tried the steak pie which he said" was the best he had tasted in a while!". Yes I agree with others on it being a little pricey but I wouldnt call the food here the your average chip shop standard and I like that it is locally sourced, so for me I am happy to pay that little more and know I am getting good quality food that's also supporting other local businesses. The staff are friendly and welcoming and there is plenty of free parking available and the restaurant is wheelchair accessible.

Fantastic food, amazing service and excellent value. We have wanted to try this chippy for ages and finally got there today. We were not disapointed and will definitely be back.

Nice place. I like the concept. You can choose takeaway or stay in in a pleasing restaurant with very friendly and kind service (offering homemade tartar sauce to go with the fish). You can get a beer or wine with your traditional and tasty meals. They even have the most fancy bill treats I've ever seen.

It was the only option to eat British cuisine in Docks. It’s looks busy all the time but it’s most likely take away instead of proper dining. All good served on the takeaway boxes and all cutlery is either plastic either wooden. Plastic tables and all atmosphere let me feel that I am in the china town. It’s big food variety that you can see freshly cooked in the glass counter. Staff has recommend us to try fish and chips and calamari on their own. Agree with fish and chips, special portion was big enough. But calamari were very plainest no seasoning or salt. In my opinion it’s overpriced for this place. I don’t think that I would get back again there.

Without any expectations, we popped into the restaurant for Fish & Chips. The order came with a large portion of freshly cooked Cod Fish and a huge (for us) portion of chips. We can taste the freshness of the fish and recommend to enjoy a good meal of Fish & Chips in this place.

The cod was cooked perfectly, the batter was golden and crispy. Chips warm fluffy & super tasty. The owner is super friendly, welcoming and made sure every dish was served to perfection. Will 100% return for this !!

I was looking for fish and chips, advised to visit this place and had an amazing lunch, with a view on the internal dock. Authentic fish and chips, a pleasure eating it. If you are in Liverpool, stop here and have your meal.

The calamari was very undercooked unfortunately. It did not taste good, and our tummies hurt after. They charge if you want more than two tinny sauces, which was also not too great. Maybe I might try the fish and chips next time, to see if it’s better than this experience.

I tried the world renowned Docklands fish & chips and i wasn’t disappointed the fish & chips where really good i wasn’t to keen on the mushy peas & curry sauce the only negative I would have to mention is the pigeons on the tables and around me i didn’t like that but the food service and plenty of tables to eat outside & inside very friendly staff love it i can recommend Mr. Wig. Great halal fish and chips in Liverpool. Seating area can be better but great taste and view.
